A New Social Contract for Health Care Insurance Costs Essay
A New Social Contract for Health Care Insurance Costs The new social contract between the
health care system and employers, patients, and the government has given everyone involved
some breathing room. They have provided a clearer picture of the costs of health care; however,
it is evident that there is still work to be done regarding the transparency of complete and exact
costs. For example; all hospitals have a price list called the chargemaster that includes nearly
20,000 health care procedures. The prices on this list are the prices that patients will most likely see
on their bills; however, the terms are not standardized and many are bundled services that make it
difficult to compare them with other institutions. It is obvious... Show more content on

This would level out the premium costs a little better than premium charges being based on the
number of employees who work at a company. Flipping the script, I will now discuss my new
social contract between the citizenry and the state. I certainly believe that the state should have
some responsibility to help with health care costs; however, I also think citizens should take
responsibility for themselves as well. For example; people who are employed should pay their
share of the premium cost based on the amount they make per year, so if one employee brings home
more than another, they should pay a higher share of the amount of their premium. Moreover, an
employee making minimum wage should have some help from the state to pay part of their
premium cost. Also, each individual s last employer should continue to provide them with their
same insurance plan until they find new employment. As far as State health insurance coverage such
as the Medicaid and Medicare programs, they should continue to provide health coverage to the
underprivileged and the elderly. In brief summary, the New Social Contract effort is about
describing the problems we face, in this case, conflicts in the health care systems. Whether the cost
of health care is not clearly seen by patients, or the costs of health care insurance is too

Longitudinal Waves Compare And Contrast
Transverse and Longitudinal waves are different due to the fact that Longitudinal waves are
waves that vibrate in a parallel direction in a back and forth motion compared to that of the
motion. However, transverse waves are when the waves moves at a perpendicular direction of
the motion. They are similar because they both make waves when their is motion or energy
involved in their movement. In longitudinal waves the object doesn t exactly follow the waves
fully instead the object moves in a back and forth motion while the waves continues to move
forward through the object. While in transverse waves the object doesn t follow the waves as well
and just moves up and down in the same position. These waves can help us in our daily lives like

Best Buy Case Analysis
Nature of Industry, Market, and Buying Behavior Best Buy is a retail store with over 600 stores
nationwide and over a thousand around the world. It is the major retailer store for electronics
around the world and leads top ranked followed by Circuit City, Wal Mart and Costco. The
consumer electronics industry is growing steadily over the past few years. 2008 s projected
revenue is expected to increase by 6.1%. This isn t higher than 2007 but it is higher compared to
other industries which are failing. Some items that are expected to see an increase are TV

The Organization Best Buy, like any other company, has its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities,

been the leader in consumer electronics for many years and is projected to keep growing. It has
been a house hold name for a number of years and this is also a big strength in the company.
When someone is thinking of buying a TV or anything electronic, usually the first place that comes
to mind is Best Buy. Best Buy s strength in its customer centricity is also very important. With the
implication of this program it has seen sales increase in the stores that it has tried this program in.

International Adoption In America
Throughout the history of America, children have been put in orphanages and put up for
adoption. As the ProQuest staff has explained in the timeline, The will of Governor Sir William
Phips of Massachusetts makes reference to his adopted son. This is the first recorded legal
adoption in the American colonies (Staff, ProQuest). At the time this was considered to be a
unique case. After this event there were very few, if any cases of a legal adoptionin America for
years to come. As time progressed, the concern for orphaned and abandoned children grew, and
orphanages were constructed and opened. David Gates states in his article History of the
Orphanage Ursuline nuns founded the first orphan asylum in North America in 1729, after Indians

Many people worry that black children adopted by white families could pose an issue with black

of a different race can be unconstitutional. Valuable as a cultural heritage might be, it is wrong for

IHSDA Dance
Hard Work Pays Off
Our coaches had told us since the beginning that the months and months we would spend
preparing for one particular day would all be worth it in the end. Taking place at New Castle
Fieldhouse in early March 2015, I competed in the IHSDTA Dance team competition with my
fellow teammates and members of the NHS dance team. We walked into the vast, expansive
Fieldhouse knowing that it was the largest High School Fieldhouse in the Nation. The anticipation
in the air was electric and full of excited chatter of girls who had been preparing for months for this
one day... actually for these two minutes.
We were a pom and hip hop team. Because this was Noblesville s first year competing, opposing
teams arrived with low expectations for us, and they also showed a polite disregard for our team.
I was to dance that day, but only once. I understood the privilege, for I was a freshman on a varsity
team. And though I was used to performing, I was not prepared for the criticizing looks, ... Show

practice like that? I wondered. They performed, were given a loud applause, then ran off the court.
Ten minutes later, we were already getting ready for the next dance, the one I was to perform.
I m going to play the music once, and you re going to close your eyes and think about the dance.

Underdogs In The Book Of Daniel
The young underdogs and their victories in the old testament is an interesting topic to think about
in a theological point of view. These so called underdogs went through many trials just as most of
the characters do in the bible. What makes these characters so different is how they started out.
They all started in a way that would make it hard for them to come out on top, thus hints the name
underdogs. The obstacles they had in their way molded the characters. Each individual character
can be seen in different ways and it is not surprising considering the way the biblepresents them.
Take for example Daniels. Daniels qualities are the reasons of his success.
Daniel s experiences and prophecies for the Jewish exiles during his time in the Babylonian
capital, where his service to the king gave him privileged access to the highest levels of society.
His loyal service to the Lord in a land and virtues makes him unique among almost all the people
of Scripture. Daniel is one of the only major figures in the Bible to produce a completely positive
record of his actions.
Daniel was humble and courteous. Courtesy is one the many Daniel qualities. Daniel had indeed

The book of Daniel shows him to be a faithful man of God. Daniel was a man of prayer. As stated
in the book of Daniel, Daniel would pray three time a day to thank God for his love. Daniel s
commitment to God was incredible. Daniel was devoted first and foremost to God and His
commandment on his lifestyle. Daniel unsurmountable faith in God can be seen throughout his
journey. For instance, Daniel showed his faith in God by praying to God even though he knew
that doing so would endanger his life at what time in his journey. Moreover, Daniel s faithfulness
to God even guided him in a lion den, where his enemies were sure he would be devoured. But God
sent shut the lions mouths (Daniel 6:22), and Daniel was miraculously

Student Observation Of Jane Doe
For my student observation, I am observing Jane Doe. Jane is in the 9th grade at Grafton high
school where she is a student in Mr. Minor s AP Human Geography class. She classifies as a
female and describes her ethnicity as Hispanic. Jane, unfortunately, has a significant hearing loss
that makes it harder for her to understand class directions and lectures. Although, her hearing is
not completely lost she still has trouble hearing when seated in certain areas of the classroom.
Especially towards the back of the classroom and the side opposite of Mr. Minor s desk. With her
seating arrangement in the back, this prevented her from following along with lectures and class
discussions. In addition, her interaction with classmates was nonexistent. However, after discussing
the issue with Mr. Minor changes were implemented. At the beginning of the school year Jane was
positioned in the back part of the classroom. Mr. Minor then proceeded to move her next to his
desk allowing her betteraccess to him. Prior to Jane s move to her present seat, she experienced
trouble hearing Mr. Minor. Thus, making it harder for her to get on task. She also struggled to
follow directions given by Mr. Minor relying on classmates to relay the message. I noticed that she
would increasingly become frustrated when she was unable to keep up in class. Although her
behavior was never unacceptable she struggled ever so slightly. Since Jane moved from her
previous position in the classroom I

When teaching adult learners English in Taiwan (the EFL setting), I taught vocabulary, grammar,
reading skills, and structures of essays through utilizing readings deriving from the news, articles in
magazines, short fiction and non fiction, and models of essays. When teaching writing, I adopted
graphic organizers, drawings, and guiding questions to introduce components of an essay and to
develop students writing competence. Moreover, I designed courses to allow students to choose
topics that they were interested in or relevant to their daily lives for their assignments. Furthermore,
I gave mini lessons on grammar, especially when most students made similar grammatical mistakes.
Additionally, I employed Communicative Approach and selected popular topics (e.g., news,
hobbies, travel, and favorite local and exotic food) to instruct students in English speaking. For
listening, I utilized popular English songs, news videos, and excerpts from TV shows and
audiobooks to enhance their listening competence. Since I incorporated various instructional
materials and adopted different teaching methods and techniques, my students expressed that they
enjoyed learning, and their academic performance showed great achievement. Those students who

Antigone Viewpoints
In Antigone one of The Three Theban Plays, Antigone creates a plan to bury her late brother. This
plan involves taking extreme risks in order to achieve this illegal act. Whether or not this act should
be allowed is widely debated between characters. The viewpoints on the matter from characters
Antigone, Ismene, Creon, and The Chorus provide detailed explanations on each of their opinions
about burial and loyalty.
Going against the written rules, Antigone (sister of Ismene) believes her late brother should receive
a proper burial. To Antigone there is no other option but burial, her passion on the subject is what
started the argument with her sister Ismene. Despite being her sister, Ismene is very different and
shares complete opposite views on the matter than Antigone. Ismene initially thought Antigone
would want to keep her plan to bury him private, Ismene did not fully understand how devoted
Antigone is to orchestrating this burial ceremony. Antigone s intentions became clear to the reader
and Ismene when she stated Shout it from the rooftops. I ll hate you all the more for silence tell the

Command and Control Policy Introduction Climate change poses a huge risk to human beings and
natural system hence the need for policies to reduce carbon dioxide gas emissions to the
environment and the damages caused by the rapidly changing climate. This is the reason countries
like the United States of America enacted command and control policies to try and curb the rate of
pollution of the environment (Davies Mazurek, 2014 ). This paper will explain the command and

When the quantities of environmental protection are low for an extensive for an extensive
pollution, then there exists a variety of cheap and easy ways to reduce pollution hence an increase
in marginal benefits. However, if the event that an environmental protection rises, then cheap and
readily available ways of reducing pollution start to decrease hence requiring more costly methods
to be employed. As the extent of environmental regulation rises, additional expenditures related to
environmental protection will most likely lead to increased marginal costs and decreased marginal
benefits. This pattern would suggest that the cost savings and flexibility nature of market oriented
environmental policies would be very important (Harrington Morgenstern, 2013).

The Sport And National Identity
Sports have been and will continue to be an influential factor on cultures around the world. Soccer
is influential in Europe, Football influences The United States and for Canada it would be hockey.
It was created in Canada and continues today to be a dominating part of Canadian culture as the
sport and national identity are inextricably linked (Brunt). You could ask almost anyone in Canadaif
they knew who Wayne Gretzky is or if they have ever played any form of hockey, and undoubtedly
you would hear them say yes more often than no. Hockey influences all ages, from youth signing
up for minor hockey, to adults taking their children to a game or even the older generations sitting
in front of their television in hopes that the Toronto Maple Leafswill beat the Ottawa Senators. The
examination of these cultural influences allows the argument to be made that hockey can in fact
be deemed Canada s game (Holman 153).Through investigation of the amount of youth that
participate in minor hockey, the statistics involving the amount of professional Canadian hockey
players and the success that Canada has achieved in the world of professional hockey, such as the
Olympics, NHL and IIHF World Juniors, it will become evident that hockey is and will continue to
be viewed as Canada s game . (Holman 153)
To begin, this essay will examine the amount of Canada s youth that participates in minor hockey.
As it would be nearly impossible to accurately estimate the percentage of youth in Canada

New Atkins Diet Research Paper
The New Atkins Diet The New Atkins Diet is based solely on the idea of having a low
carbohydrate diet will make you lose weight. Dr. Atkins, who is a well known cardiologist,
decided to limit his patients intake of sugar and carbohydrates when this concluded it showed
great success with weight loss as well as his patients being able to keep the weight they lost off
(reduce). The New Atkins Diet is also based of the idea that everyones body can use energy in
two ways, either by the use of sugar or by the use of fat. This helps the individual lose weight
because the body uses fat issues as fuel instead of carbohydrates as feul which, overtime, results in
loss of fat tissue. Atkins is also based off science. When a person consumes carbohydrates... Show

It allows the person to eat food that normally are not allowed when on a typical diet (I.E bacon,

diet. Atkins also provides products that follow the diet like snack bars, candy, premade meals,
snacks, and recipes to help the person still give into their cravings without the guilt and negative
impact on the body. I believe that over time, like with any fad diet, a person might get bored of
eating foods that are low carbohydrate and then start to struggle with that. I also think this diet
may be hard to follow if the person is unable to cook for themselves or are in a tough situation
financially. Atkins requires a lot of cooking and if the person can not cook for themselves it s
more costly so if someone does not have these resources like a college student it may be harder to
maintain. The biggest issue I have found with this fad diet is accessibility. It is very hard to go to
a restaurant and get someone that is low in carbohydrates without making a big deal about the
situation. When given the proper tools I do believe the Atkins diet is

Animal Lab Experiments
Animal lab experiments have long been a controversial issue especially among animal rights
activists. There has always been a conflict between scientists relying on animal laboratory research

these research facilities. Despite a series of U.S. federal regulations such as the AnimalWelfare Act,
the abuse of animals in medical laboratories still remain a problem.
In 1986, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released an undercover video

The Transportation And Grocery Gaps Of San Diego
Listening to Sierra s answer, this customer s plight embodies the interconnectivity of the
transportation and grocery gaps that San Diego suffers from within areas in need. Though luckier
than most to have his own means of private transportation, this one particular customer was
compelled to drive a great distance to provide healthy juice for himself, a product that he would
otherwise be unexposed to without his car. As Gottlieb and Joshi highlight in their book Food
Justice, the link between the two aforementioned gaps grow wider and wider, feeding off each
other and intensifying the imbalances already existing (48). Therefore, an overabundance of fast
foodfilled the gaps between the market and the domestic areas, looking to attract high volume of in
transit customers on busy roadways, pushing nutrient food options further and further from dense
urban population. As a result, fast foods are purchased to conserve time, gas, and other expenses
encountered to simply achieve a journey to the grocery store. Even those stores that are nearby lack
truly nutritious options, and heavily advocate for non healthy diets to become daily habits over the
wholesome alternative. Under those circumstances, local markets like Stehly Farms are far from
accessible to a great deal of the San Diegan population. In reality, this customer possesses fortunate
fundamentals such as knowledge, transportation, and free time to frequent such a wonderful market

biggest challenges for every company is finding and recruiting top talent. With a new generation

Additionally, there would be no cap on the amount of vacations an employee is able to take.
Typically, the only requirement is to make sure colleagues are up to date on the employee s
work and that the employee s absence will not cause issues to the business in any way (Branson,
2014). The rationale behind this is that employees will manage their own time well because it is
in the best interest of their careers to do so. This is different from a relatively more traditional Paid
Time Off (PTO) policy, which essentially groups vacation, sick, and personal days under the same
umbrella while establishing a cap on the overall time off (Sine, 2017). While PTO policies do not
give employees as much freedom as an unlimited vacation policy, it still touts the same general
principles and may be a better option for companies with more nonexempt employees or who are
otherwise not ready to implement an unlimited vacation policy.

Unlimited vacation policies have been increasingly popular over the last few years with many

Paid Time Off ( Pto ) Essay
Introduction
Paid time off (PTO) is the employer pools sick days, vacation days, and personal days that allows
the employees to utilize upon need. this policy pertains mainly in USA as such no legal
requirement for minimum number of paid vacation days. the PTO works best in the culture and
accountable employee s environment existing. US companies determine the amount off the pay day
off that will be allocated to each employee. In general way PTO system cover, everything from
planned vacation to sick leaves .and are becoming more common in human resources management.
unlike traditional more plans leave, PTO doesn t distinguish employee s absences from personal
days or vacation days or sick days. per study conducted in 2010 by WorldatWork, 44% of 387
companies surveyed said they started using PTO bank type plans prior to year 2000. (Wikipedia
paid of time).
PTO system allowed employees to take time off without any restriction imposed through traditional
time off policies .the approach give employees certain number of days that put in leave bank
system ,upon withdrawal from employees the system reduce the balance of leaves remaining for
the employees .with the paid off leave system the employees can utilize their allocated days
however they wish, without having to specify reasons .employers can advantage from PTO asking
the employees to determine their leaves in advance and employer can plan for lost work days and

Canada Charter Of Rights Essay
Growing up in a world where you only know life sheltered by the Canadian Charter of Rights and
Freedoms it s easy not to appreciate the security it provides. It can also be a foregone conclusion
that this generation of Canadians couldn t imagine life without the privileges of the charter. Still,
there is an argument that Canadians were better off before the charter was included in the
Constitution of Canada.
The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms was not the first enactment that afforded Canadians
with principles. Constitutional rights in Canada date all the way back to 1791 and the

The Successes and Failures of the Zapatista Movement Essay
The Successes and Failures of the Zapatista Movement
On January 1, 2004, over one thousand people in the mountain hamlet of Oventic, Chiapas,
celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) rebellion with
song and dance. Thus, it seems a fitting time to take stock of the successes and failures of the
Zapatista movement in the context of its original goals. While the EZLN has been able to establish
thirty eight autonomous indigenous communities in Chiapas, it has failed to weaken the Mexican
government s commitment to neo liberal economic policies. In the following pages, we will explore
those factors which enabled the Zapatistas to establish regions of autonomy and extrapolate from

created five organizational centers (caracoles) and established Juntas of Good Government in each

autonomy. These Zapatista achievements can be attributed to the local terrain of Chiapas,
restrictive legislation, and local and national scrutiny.
The Mexican government has faced legal and practical restraints on launching an all out war on
the Zapatistas. The first government counter attacks encountered tactical difficulties in the
jungles of Chiapas and the army failed to score a quick military victory. In 1995, the federal
congress passed a ?law for dialogue,? which foreclosed the option of a unilateral show of force by
the Mexican army in areas under Zapatista control. This legislation catalyzed the signing of the San
AndrГ©s Accords by the EZLN and the Zedillo government. The San AndrГ©s Accords, as well as
the inaccessibility of the jungles of Chiapas, made overt military action politically and tactically
unviable. The EZLN?s national popularity and visibility also guaranteed its survival. Though the
Mexican government maintained a

The Quiet World Of Written Words
The Quiet World of Written Words: How I Discovered Literature It was a time of long hair and
stealth window escapes at the midnight hour, a time of skipping class and anti establishment
sentiment spewing forth from my foul, juvenile, remorseless mouth. I was mad without reason.
Full of aggressive energy, anger was the emotion with which I chose to express myself. Naturally, I
found fuel for the fire in a band named Rage Against the Machine. Front man Zach de la Rocha put
the emotions I was experiencing into a lyrical poetic, militant, rap core metal form. It was unlike
anything I had ever heard before: pure, intellectual, and most of all, unfiltered. Initially, I was
drawn to Rage because of its sound and raw musical talent with their... Show more content on

Because I could identify with this song, I found myself wondering: Who was this character Tom
Joad? Was he flesh as I? Was he even a man, or was he just a ghost after all? I was clueless and
perplexed. Consequently, I took it upon my teenage self to venture out in order to discover just
who he was. Though I was prepared to comb through every article necessary, a simple Google
search was all the elbow grease it took to unearth the mystery: Tom Joad is the main character of a
novel written by John Steinbeck, titled The Grapes of Wrath. I bought the book, and it was then
that I branched out from raging sound waves into the quiet and meticulous world of written
words. The year was 2008; and the first decade of the new millennium was drawing to an end on
an extraordinarily low point in America s economic history. What has come to be known as The
Great Recession would have led to an apocalyptic collapse of the world economy, had it not been
for governmental intervention. The financial crises tattooed drastic and lasting effects on the lives
of the majority of Americans; among other things, many lost their homes, savings, and their
investments. Needless to say, there was an overall sense of despair throughout the heartland, and
the big questions on everyone s minds were: What do we do now? and Where do we go from here?
As I read word after word and page after page, I came to the realization that the world in which I
lived was in fact not that far from the problems

The War On Drugs And Drugs
The war on drugs is a long going battle and it has created many issues all around the world and as
of today the highest prison population can be found in the United States due to drug charges.
About half of the inmates with in federal and state prisons can be found on drug convictions.
Those charges can range from possession of an illicit substance to drug trafficking that surprisingly
continues to be an issue in federal and state prisons. How can United States put an end to the war
on drugs?
Many people cope with drug use, abuse, and many inmates who have been convicted on drug
offenses deal with addiction as well. The United States has the leading amount of people within the
prison system and most are for drug offenses nevertheless, many of those people contend with drug
addiction. Drug addiction is a disease that so many cope with; it is reliance on a substance and for
whatever reason the addiction continues to take over one s life and choices. Drug abusers can
sometimes see a means to an end when it comes to their drug addiction, whether its alcohol, a
hardcore drug like heroin or cocaine, or prescription medication the person will do what it takes
to feed their addiction. People have their reasons for why they need to do drugs, it could be to
escape their own reality, a coping mechanism, or it could be just because it makes them feel good.
Sometimes that need can surpass a person s better judgement leading to criminal acts being
committed because they need to

Researchers taught Ernie to ask for attention instead of engaging in aggressive behaviors by using
picture cards that displayed a form of attention from the therapist (Thompson et al.,1998).

handed the picture card to the therapist the therapist would give him attention. If he didn t do
anything 15 s into the interval he was prompted on what to do. If he engaged in aggression

This third experiment was conducted to reduce Ernie s chin grinding. It was concluded in the

Effects Of Alcohol On Memory
What effects does alcohol abuse have on our memory? The world s most popular drug, alcohol has
both an acute and chronic effect on memory. Memory is the process in which information is

memory of information or an even is reduced. Everyone suffers from a loss of memoryat some

Political And Social Responsibility Of Illegal Drug...
The illegal drug trafficking found throughout Latin America is not an issue that can be solved by
either a government or an individual alone. Unfortunately, it is also an issue that requires more than
one solution in order to solve the problem. Each Latin American state is unique, as are the various
citizens who inhabit them. As drug trafficking is a transnational force, Latin American governments
often find themselves not only at odds with one another, but with larger political and economic
powers such as the United States(U.S.). In addition, how many of these states have decided to
address the illegal drug trafficking business, often through the use of armed force, have put them at
odds with their respective citizens. Despite the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Citizens may begin to question who controls the monopoly of force, who is extracting revenues
(taxes), and have resources been diverted from public goods in an effort to improve security.
Ultimately, when a Latin American nation proves unsuccessful in eliminating the illegal drug
trafficking industry, it calls into question who and what bears political and social responsibility for
this industry. Accountability for the illegal drug trafficking industry neither falls solely upon the
back of a Latin American government nor upon its citizens. Like the multiple levels of the
institution found in nations, accountability can be divided into three tiers: vertical, horizontal, and
social. With concerns to drug trafficking, vertical and social accountability best reflect who and
what bears political and social responsibility for the violence associated with the illegal drug
trafficking business. Both the state and portions of the populace interact with this industry on a
daily basis. In the favelas (illegal shanty towns) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, drug trafficking has not
only established itself as the leading economic industry in that geographic region but has
dramatically affected the social character of the favelas inhabitants through the adoption of a strong
drug culture. The democratic regime found in Brazil has proven unable to stamp out both the illegal

House On Mango Street Book Assignment
Book Assignment For this book assignment I decided to read the book The House on Mango
Street by Sandra Cisneros. Cisneros uses a series of vignettes to tell the story of Esperanza
Cordero and a year of her life on Mango Street. Esperanza is a 12 year old Mexican American
girl, or Chicana, living in a congested Latino neighborhood located in the more poorer area of
Chicago. The story begins with Esperanza s family moving to a new house on Mango street
which she describes as an upgrade from their previous house but it is still not the home her heart
desires. Esperanza has big dreams of eventually leaving Mango Street and owning her own real
house with a big yard and multiple washrooms, just like the ones she sees on television.
Esperanza s journey into maturity and development is described through these interestingly
written vignettes. She begins writing poetry as a way of expressing the events happening in her
life such as developing friends, puberty and sprouting hips, and even dealing with sexual assault.
The first half of the book begins with Esperanza wanting to continue to play in her little child
bubble but is pushed into the world of adulthood when dealing with the deaths of her grandfather
and Aunt Lupe and when she is abruptly kissed by an older man while at her first job. Esperanza
also writes about her neighbors and happenings of the neighborhood to paint a picture of the
different paths in life that are available to her. She switches her interest to the older women of the
neighborhood who each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Modern Cyber Attack And Its Effects On Society
Traditional crimes, otherwise known as street crimes, violate state and federal laws without the use
of a computer and/or internet. Rape, homicide, distribution/using of illegal substance, assault,
burglary, breaking and entering, possession of unregistered firearm, etc. are some examples of
traditional crime. Just like traditional crime, cybercrime is inevitable and unavoidable as long as
computers and the internet are around. It can pick and choose its victims at random and although
there are ways to lessen the chances, it is still virtually inescapable. Robbing a bank traditionally
meant isolated incidents at individual banks. Cybercrime opens new doors to criminals where they
have the power to defraud entire institutions in way that would not have been possible traditionally.

The Problem Of Air Pollution
Arizona is on the rise as one of the fastest metropolitan areas in the United States of America. In
fact, in 2015 Forbes Magazine ranks Phoenix, Arizona as the 11th fastest growing city in the
U.S.1 This growth is due the unprecedented resources and growing opportunities in the state of
Arizona. With all of these opportunities come more production, which means more emissions
from various industries and cars, more fossil fuels burned, and household and farming chemicals
added to the sky. All of these are examples of pollution; which is one the sacrifices that comes
with being a large city that is emerging. Pollution is defined as the action or process of making
land, water, air, etc., dirty and not safe or suitable to use.2 We understand that Phoenix is a rapidly
growing city, but they should be able to grow without being a detriment to the environment and
health of their citizens. The purpose of my report is to examine the problem of air pollutionin
Phoenix, Arizona and look at solutions to fix this problem.
Air pollution can harm plants, lakes, and animals. In addition to damaging the natural environment,
air pollution also can damage buildings, monuments, and statues. Not only does it reduce your
visibility but it also interferes with aviation. In 1970, Congress created the Environmental

this caused the kids to get mad. This other website Technology Addiction states that Technology

Examples Of Archetypes In The Lamb By William Blake
True Meaning
(A discussion on Blake s Archetypes)
An archetype is defined as a recurrent symbol in literature, art, and mythology. Usually an
archetype is a character in a story that represents such universal patterns of human nature.
William Blake is a poet and an artist during the 1800 s who used archetypes in many of his writing
s he wrote. Blake published two books of poems, one being called Songs of Innocence, and Songs
of experience, these two books of poems are his most known writings. William Blake uses
archetypes in his four poems The Lamb , The Tyger, The Chimney Sweeper , and Infant Sorrow .
In The Lamb , the lamb is the archetype that symbolizes as cute and sweet. In the poem Blake s
describes the lamb as softest clothing of delight . He explains the lambs wool as soft and
elegant. Blake talks about the lambs sound explaining Gave thee such a tender voice, making all
the vales rejoice. Blake explains that the lambs noise can make the most depressed valley s happy
with joy. The lamb is symbolized as sweet an innocent. Blake decided that the lamb is one of God s
great creations.
In The Tyger Blake uses the tyger as an archetype of power. Tigers in the real world today are the
biggest killing/hunting machines, and they never let anything get in their way. Tigers want all

uses the word fearful in that sentence to describe the tigers face. He also used the word could in
the quote above, but also restates the statement using dare instead of could. Blake is trying to

describe the tiger several times. For example, In what distant deeps or skies burnt the fire of

how a tiger is a good archetype for power.

My Father s Influence On A Football Team
It was November 3rd, 2013, the day of the Division 3 Midget Championship and my team was
playing in our biggest game of the year. As the head coach, my dad had led us to the Big Game.
After a terrible first half my team ran off the field with our heads down and took a knee, waiting
anxiously for all the terrible things the coaches were going to say. My dad spoke first, You guys
have two options. You can pout and watch Christian Brothers take your season, or you guys can
fire up and believe in each other and win a banner! . Instantly, the team fired up, inspired by our
head coach s speech. The ability that my dad has to motivate and inspire people makes him the
person that he is. One day, I hope to take after my number one role model and be known for the
following traits: maintaining a positive attitude, having a strong work ethic, and being charismatic.

up, not because I would not get that season back, but rather because I had someone who believed
in me. My dad is the biggest inspiration in my life. One day, I hope to develop such a positive

Project Scope Of A Graduate Curriculum
Problem Statement
Recommendations by the WHO, 2011 and AACN, 2012 have supported implementation of a
graduate curriculum that will educate trainees on quality improvement initiatives that include
topics on near misses, factors surrounding errors and error management in the clinical setting. In the
College of Nursing, nurse anesthesia department, there is no designated educational module
addressing this recommendation.
The concern with not educating trainees before graduation is that incident and near misses tend to
remain underreported because of the perpetuating negative culture surrounding error reporting. This
in turn hinders learning from the event and stifles growth toward voluntary sharing of broken
processes and system failures (Barnsteiner, 2011). The current focus on Quality Improvement is to
provide high reliable care with little to zero risks by including the combined and unceasing efforts
of everyone healthcare professionals, patients and their families, researchers, payers, planners and
educators to make changes that will lead to better patient outcomes (health), better system
performance (care) and better professional development (IHI, 2015).
Project Scope
The project scope includes definition of the objectives, goals, resources and budget.
Project Objectives
The project objective is to increase trainee awareness of current patient safety standards by 50% as
evidenced by an increased participation in patient safety initiatives both in the academic and in

George Patton Research Paper
Holloway 1
A good plan violently executed right now is far better than a perfect plan executed next week,
George Smith Patton, Jr.(Google, Patton) General George Patton was born on November 11,
1885 in San Gabriel, California. As a young boy George wanted to become a war hero. He did
this because he wanted to follow his family member/ancestors, because they fought in the Civil
War and the American Revolution War.(Biography.com, Patton) His formal education did not
really begin until he was 11 years old, but, over time he became acquisitive reader and as he got
older he published many articles on military topics.(Britannica.com, George Patton) Patton spent a
year at the Virginia Military Institute and then transferred to the , New York,... Show more content

Of the 42 competitors, he finished in fifth place, although he might have medaled if not for a
controversy in the pistol shooting event. While the judges believed Patton missed the target with
one of his shots, he argued that he was so fine a marksman that one of his bullets actually
traveled through a bullet hole he had already made. (history.com, Patton) He was also selected to
be on the Olympic but they were canceled because of World War one. Another interesting fact is
that Patton believed in reincarnation. He believed he had seen combat many times before in
earlier lives. One more interesting fact is that he was used as a decoy in the lead up to D Day.
General Dwight Eisenhower thought Patton was to undisciplined to lead the Allied invasion of
Normandy, particularly after the thoughtless Patton slapped two shell shocked soldiers under his
command in an Italian field hospital in August 1943.However Nazi military leaders, considered him
the Allies best commander and anticipated he would lead a cross channel invasion.

James Joyce Symbolism
The Dead By James Joyce tells the tale of the early twentieth century upper class society in the
Irish city of Dublin. The story tells of the characters entrapment, the tragic lives they lead and
hiding behind the conventions of their society. This comes together, not only to tell of the
individual tragedy of these people s lives, but to tell the tragic story of all of Ireland, as its true
problems become obscured in so many ways. The story dramatizes a dialogue between Gabriel s
consciousness and unconsciousness. Throughout the story there are several signs of the symbolism
theory. Therefore, I will show how symbolism plays an important role in the story The Dead. Joyce
lets symbolism flow freely throughout his story. He utilizes his main characters and objects to
impress upon the readers his view of Dublins crippled condition. Coupled with his depiction of
Dublin s transfixed status through the characters, Joyce illustrates his theme of paralysis through
snow. Symbolically representing the cold and dead Dublin due to its uncertain political period.
Winter is a time for celebration and holiday but it is also a symbol for eternal sleep and death.
Joyce takes on a more deeper meaning, symbolizing how humans are the same way, frozen
temporarily in an impermanent state: alive but always dying; just as snow will always melt, human
life will always end. Throughout the text all manifestations of winter, cold, white snow and the
season itself usually represents mortality.

I would not say that it is a problem, but there are definitely advantages and disadvantages to
urbanization. The advantages can be that the country will be more economically competitive as
contrasted to other which are not so developed countries. It will also have more cleaner and more

when the country is very developed, they will be very successful to safeguard themselves. When
more people live in cities or upper class apartments, there will be more capacity for other

Caravaggio And The Caravaggesque
Caravaggio, arguably one of the best Baroque artists of all time. Best known for his extremely
detailed, and realistic style of Baroque art, which, when paired together with Annibale Carracci
(1560 1609 ) classical style, allowed for him to overshadow the almost mundane style of
Mannerism. Though he was not considered the best artist of his time, when he was alive, he
managed to reinvigorate religious art in both Rome and Naples, allowing for wide spread change
in the religious art world, that, after spreading through Rome, reached almost all corners of Europe.
Though Caravaggiowas acursed with a violent hand, he is considered to be one of the most
influential artists of the 17th century, as his style revolved around taking certain characteristics
from previous afamed artists, thus allowing for him to create his own unique style that was
recognized nationwide, leading to the term caravaggesque, meaning, when a painting mimics the
style of his works, it is deemed as being caravaggesque .... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

HIV In Prisons
In the US prison system an estimated 1 in 7 HIV infected individuals pass through correctional
faculties each year without being identified as having HIV (Beckwith et al. 183). In prison, out of
2.2 million people incarcerated, 1.5% have HIV or AIDS (21,987 people) (Lovinger 1). This
number is four times the HIVprevalence rate in the non institutionalized population. If an inmate is
released back into his or her community with an untreated HIV virus it puts the community at risk
and themselves in greater danger. The inequity exists in this situation because HIV positive
incarcerated individuals are receiving worse and delayed care in prison compared to out of prison.
My research question being, to what extent does the quality and access of... Show more content on

A way to stop this would be to continue to promote programs like Project START, which focuses
on educating HIV infected individuals released from prison, into better communities. By
imposing this on a national and community level scale you will be able to account for people
who may have not received quality care in prison. We are doing some of this right as we have
programs that help with this like the Returning Home Ohio program, which accepts HIV positive
individuals form Cuyahoga County released from jail. To continue to impose these and to get
prisons to take advantage of the many HIV centers in their community would help efficiently fight
the HIV crisis in prison. A way to fund these would be to get volunteers to help run these programs
and try to get donations. A way to know this is working would be to survey the amount of HIV ex
convicts joining these

The American Dream.
The American Dream, a dream on which our country has been built on and continues to develop
and bring new and new waves of immigrants. It is a part of each American; this dream has been
the light at the end of the tunnel for which our parents and ancestors were coming for. To find a
life that was rewarded and built only on their will of hard working and efforts. The term American
Dream is one of the triggers that lead to the shores of the USA many thousands of immigrants, it
had a deep meaning for them, and it was first introduced to us by an American writer and historian
James Truslow Adamsin his 1931 book called The Epic of America , where he gives the definition

I think that even though the way of achieving The American Dream has become more and
difficult saying I have achieved my American dream is heard not often, there is still a chance to
really achieve it. All we have to do is forget about material success and live in the way our
ancestors were living by finding a good husband or wife, by having kids and living from day to
day. That was their dream, and we can always look and find that dream in our society. Another
interesting trajectory that the concept of The American Dream can give a key, is the concept of
social classes. Social classes that we have today are upper, middle, lower and the working class.
The American Dream is rewarding those who are hard workers, who have qualities and skills,
those people can always reach the top goals. But now days we have people who are working
hard, who have skills but they barely make the ends. This shows that material success is very
difficult to reach; we have 1% of rich people who have the financial resources to control the rest
of people (Schaefer 216). Even though the financial crisis had a crucial impact on our economy,
more people were answering positively on a question Have you already reached The American
Dream ? About 44% of people answered yes in 2009 in compare with 32% in 2005
(TheNewYorkTimes). In difficult financial times, people started to appreciate what

Sales Tax Errors
To error is human, and that fact is never so apparent than when dealing with taxes. Recently,
several states have publicized the most common sales tax management errors experienced by their

Each state has its own rules when it comes to sales tax errors, but generally jail time is reserved
for those who willfully and knowingly report incorrect sales tax. However, it can be difficult for an

this stay organized, know your filing information, and know your filing dates.
Failing to Register In The Correct Jurisdictions: Business are sometimes surprised by the fact that
they must register in the states where they do business. What they don t realize is that not
registering is a huge red flag to auditors that indicates fraudulent bookkeeping. Not only that but
failure to register can make a material difference for the business as well. For example, in Ohio

  • 3. A New Social Contract for Health Care Insurance Costs Essay A New Social Contract for Health Care Insurance Costs The new social contract between the health care system and employers, patients, and the government has given everyone involved some breathing room. They have provided a clearer picture of the costs of health care; however, it is evident that there is still work to be done regarding the transparency of complete and exact costs. For example; all hospitals have a price list called the chargemaster that includes nearly 20,000 health care procedures. The prices on this list are the prices that patients will most likely see on their bills; however, the terms are not standardized and many are bundled services that make it difficult to compare them with other institutions. It is obvious... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would level out the premium costs a little better than premium charges being based on the number of employees who work at a company. Flipping the script, I will now discuss my new social contract between the citizenry and the state. I certainly believe that the state should have some responsibility to help with health care costs; however, I also think citizens should take responsibility for themselves as well. For example; people who are employed should pay their share of the premium cost based on the amount they make per year, so if one employee brings home more than another, they should pay a higher share of the amount of their premium. Moreover, an employee making minimum wage should have some help from the state to pay part of their premium cost. Also, each individual s last employer should continue to provide them with their same insurance plan until they find new employment. As far as State health insurance coverage such as the Medicaid and Medicare programs, they should continue to provide health coverage to the underprivileged and the elderly. In brief summary, the New Social Contract effort is about describing the problems we face, in this case, conflicts in the health care systems. Whether the cost of health care is not clearly seen by patients, or the costs of health care insurance is too ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Longitudinal Waves Compare And Contrast Transverse and Longitudinal waves are different due to the fact that Longitudinal waves are waves that vibrate in a parallel direction in a back and forth motion compared to that of the motion. However, transverse waves are when the waves moves at a perpendicular direction of the motion. They are similar because they both make waves when their is motion or energy involved in their movement. In longitudinal waves the object doesn t exactly follow the waves fully instead the object moves in a back and forth motion while the waves continues to move forward through the object. While in transverse waves the object doesn t follow the waves as well and just moves up and down in the same position. These waves can help us in our daily lives like with ... As the ProQuest staff has explained in the timeline, The will of Governor Sir William Phips of Massachusetts makes reference to his adopted son. This is the first recorded legal adoption in the American colonies (Staff, ProQuest). At the time this was considered to be a unique case. After this event there were very few, if any cases of a legal adoptionin America for years to come. As time progressed, the concern for orphaned and abandoned children grew, and orphanages were constructed and opened. Some people take the opposite position on the issue. Many believe that race does not matter as long as the children have a loving family. • 7. IHSDA Dance Hard Work Pays Off Our coaches had told us since the beginning that the months and months we would spend preparing for one particular day would all be worth it in the end. Taking place at New Castle Fieldhouse in early March 2015, I competed in the IHSDTA Dance team competition with my fellow teammates and members of the NHS dance team. We walked into the vast, expansive Fieldhouse knowing that it was the largest High School Fieldhouse in the Nation. The anticipation in the air was electric and full of excited chatter of girls who had been preparing for months for this one day... actually for these two minutes. We were a pom and hip hop team. Because this was Noblesville s first year competing, opposing teams arrived with low expectations for us, and they also showed a polite disregard for our team. I was to dance that day, but only once. These so called underdogs went through many trials just as most of the characters do in the bible. What makes these characters so different is how they started out. They all started in a way that would make it hard for them to come out on top, thus hints the name underdogs. The obstacles they had in their way molded the characters. Each individual character can be seen in different ways and it is not surprising considering the way the biblepresents them. Take for example Daniels. Daniels qualities are the reasons of his success. Daniel s experiences and prophecies for the Jewish exiles during his time in the Babylonian capital, where his service to the king gave him privileged access to the highest levels of society. His loyal service to the Lord in a land and virtues makes him unique among almost all the people of Scripture. Jane is in the 9th grade at Grafton high school where she is a student in Mr. Minor s AP Human Geography class. She classifies as a female and describes her ethnicity as Hispanic. Jane, unfortunately, has a significant hearing loss that makes it harder for her to understand class directions and lectures. Although, her hearing is not completely lost she still has trouble hearing when seated in certain areas of the classroom. Especially towards the back of the classroom and the side opposite of Mr. Minor s desk. With her seating arrangement in the back, this prevented her from following along with lectures and class discussions. In addition, her interaction with classmates was nonexistent. However, after discussing the issue with Mr. Minor changes were implemented. At the beginning of the school year Jane was positioned in the back part of the classroom. Mr. Minor then proceeded to move her next to his desk allowing her betteraccess to him. Prior to Jane s move to her present seat, she experienced trouble hearing Mr. Minor. Thus, making it harder for her to get on task. She also struggled to follow directions given by Mr. Minor relying on classmates to relay the message. I noticed that she would increasingly become frustrated when she was unable to keep up in class. Although her behavior was never unacceptable she struggled ever so slightly. Furthermore, I gave mini lessons on grammar, especially when most students made similar grammatical mistakes. Whether or not this act should be allowed is widely debated between characters. The viewpoints on the matter from characters Antigone, Ismene, Creon, and The Chorus provide detailed explanations on each of their opinions about burial and loyalty. Going against the written rules, Antigone (sister of Ismene) believes her late brother should receive a proper burial. To Antigone there is no other option but burial, her passion on the subject is what started the argument with her sister Ismene. Despite being her sister, Ismene is very different and shares complete opposite views on the matter than Antigone. Ismene initially thought Antigone would want to keep her plan to bury him private, Ismene did not fully understand how devoted Antigone is to orchestrating this burial ceremony. Soccer is influential in Europe, Football influences The United States and for Canada it would be hockey. It was created in Canada and continues today to be a dominating part of Canadian culture as the sport and national identity are inextricably linked (Brunt). You could ask almost anyone in Canadaif they knew who Wayne Gretzky is or if they have ever played any form of hockey, and undoubtedly you would hear them say yes more often than no. Hockey influences all ages, from youth signing up for minor hockey, to adults taking their children to a game or even the older generations sitting in front of their television in hopes that the Toronto Maple Leafswill beat the Ottawa Senators. The examination of these cultural influences allows the argument to be made that hockey can in fact be deemed Canada s game (Holman 153).Through investigation of the amount of youth that participate in minor hockey, the statistics involving the amount of professional Canadian hockey players and the success that Canada has achieved in the world of professional hockey, such as the Olympics, NHL and IIHF World Juniors, it will become evident that hockey is and will continue to be viewed as Canada s game . Dr. Atkins, who is a well known cardiologist, decided to limit his patients intake of sugar and carbohydrates when this concluded it showed great success with weight loss as well as his patients being able to keep the weight they lost off (reduce). The New Atkins Diet is also based of the idea that everyones body can use energy in two ways, either by the use of sugar or by the use of fat. This helps the individual lose weight because the body uses fat issues as fuel instead of carbohydrates as feul which, overtime, results in loss of fat tissue. Atkins is also based off science. Having this ability to eat more could result in easier success in following this diet. Atkins also provides products that follow the diet like snack bars, candy, premade meals, snacks, and recipes to help the person still give into their cravings without the guilt and negative impact on the body. I believe that over time, like with any fad diet, a person might get bored of eating foods that are low carbohydrate and then start to struggle with that. I also think this diet may be hard to follow if the person is unable to cook for themselves or are in a tough situation financially. Atkins requires a lot of cooking and if the person can not cook for themselves it s more costly so if someone does not have these resources like a college student it may be harder to maintain. The biggest issue I have found with this fad diet is accessibility. It is very hard to go to a restaurant and get someone that is low in carbohydrates without making a big deal about the situation. There has always been a conflict between scientists relying on animal laboratory research for medical advancement, and animal rights activists that are against the abuse of animals within these research facilities. Despite a series of U.S. federal regulations such as the AnimalWelfare Act, the abuse of animals in medical laboratories still remain a problem. In 1986, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released an undercover video called Breaking Barriers. The Transportation And Grocery Gaps Of San Diego Listening to Sierra s answer, this customer s plight embodies the interconnectivity of the transportation and grocery gaps that San Diego suffers from within areas in need. Though luckier than most to have his own means of private transportation, this one particular customer was compelled to drive a great distance to provide healthy juice for himself, a product that he would otherwise be unexposed to without his car. As Gottlieb and Joshi highlight in their book Food Justice, the link between the two aforementioned gaps grow wider and wider, feeding off each other and intensifying the imbalances already existing (48). Therefore, an overabundance of fast foodfilled the gaps between the market and the domestic areas, looking to attract high volume of in transit customers on busy roadways, pushing nutrient food options further and further from dense urban population. As a result, fast foods are purchased to conserve time, gas, and other expenses encountered to simply achieve a journey to the grocery store. Even those stores that are nearby lack truly nutritious options, and heavily advocate for non healthy diets to become daily habits over the wholesome alternative. Under those circumstances, local markets like Stehly Farms are far from accessible to a great deal of the San Diegan population. People pioneer ideas, solve problems, and take care of the customer. As such, it comes as no surprise that one of the biggest challenges for every company is finding and recruiting top talent. With a new generation entering the workforce, employers are forced to be more creative in their recruiting methods in order to meet the different priorities and expectations of the new generation. Typically, the only requirement is to make sure colleagues are up to date on the employee s work and that the employee s absence will not cause issues to the business in any way (Branson, 2014). The rationale behind this is that employees will manage their own time well because it is in the best interest of their careers to do so. This is different from a relatively more traditional Paid Time Off (PTO) policy, which essentially groups vacation, sick, and personal days under the same umbrella while establishing a cap on the overall time off (Sine, 2017). While PTO policies do not give employees as much freedom as an unlimited vacation policy, it still touts the same general principles and may be a better option for companies with more nonexempt employees or who are otherwise not ready to implement an unlimited vacation policy. These Zapatista achievements can be attributed to the local terrain of Chiapas, restrictive legislation, and local and national scrutiny. The Mexican government has faced legal and practical restraints on launching an all out war on the Zapatistas. The first government counter attacks encountered tactical difficulties in the jungles of Chiapas and the army failed to score a quick military victory. • 33. House On Mango Street Book Assignment Book Assignment For this book assignment I decided to read the book The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros. Cisneros uses a series of vignettes to tell the story of Esperanza Cordero and a year of her life on Mango Street. Esperanza is a 12 year old Mexican American girl, or Chicana, living in a congested Latino neighborhood located in the more poorer area of Chicago. The story begins with Esperanza s family moving to a new house on Mango street which she describes as an upgrade from their previous house but it is still not the home her heart desires. Esperanza has big dreams of eventually leaving Mango Street and owning her own real house with a big yard and multiple washrooms, just like the ones she sees on television. Esperanza s journey into maturity and development is described through these interestingly written vignettes. Rape, homicide, distribution/using of illegal substance, assault, burglary, breaking and entering, possession of unregistered firearm, etc. are some examples of traditional crime. Just like traditional crime, cybercrime is inevitable and unavoidable as long as computers and the internet are around. It can pick and choose its victims at random and although there are ways to lessen the chances, it is still virtually inescapable. Robbing a bank traditionally meant isolated incidents at individual banks. Cybercrime opens new doors to criminals where they have the power to defraud entire institutions in way that would not have been possible traditionally. (Carnaghan, 2013). The effects of a solitary, but thriving cyber attack can have an across the board implication together with a loss of trust, consumer confidence, financial losses, and theft of intellectual property. In fact, in 2015 Forbes Magazine ranks Phoenix, Arizona as the 11th fastest growing city in the U.S.1 This growth is due the unprecedented resources and growing opportunities in the state of Arizona. With all of these opportunities come more production, which means more emissions from various industries and cars, more fossil fuels burned, and household and farming chemicals added to the sky. All of these are examples of pollution; which is one the sacrifices that comes with being a large city that is emerging. Pollution is defined as the action or process of making land, water, air, etc., dirty and not safe or suitable to use.2 We understand that Phoenix is a rapidly growing city, but they should be able to grow without being a detriment to the environment and health of their citizens. The purpose of my report is to examine the problem of air pollutionin Phoenix, Arizona and look at solutions to fix this problem. Air pollution can harm plants, lakes, and animals. In addition to damaging the natural environment, air pollution also can damage buildings, monuments, and statues. Not only does it reduce your visibility but it also interferes with aviation. Blake explains What immortal hand or eye, could frame thy fearful symmetry? . He uses the word fearful in that sentence to describe the tigers face. He also used the word could in the quote above, but also restates the statement using dare instead of could. Blake is trying to get at how could someone make something so destructive and demanding. Blake uses fire to describe the tiger several times. For example, In what distant deeps or skies burnt the fire of thine eyes. Blake s uses fire to describe the tiger because they share similar qualities, such as being deadly and harmful to many living things. William Blake did a excellent job at explaining how a tiger is a good archetype for power. In The Chimney Sweeper uses archetypes to represent faith. • 43. Project Scope Of A Graduate Curriculum Problem Statement Recommendations by the WHO, 2011 and AACN, 2012 have supported implementation of a graduate curriculum that will educate trainees on quality improvement initiatives that include topics on near misses, factors surrounding errors and error management in the clinical setting. In the College of Nursing, nurse anesthesia department, there is no designated educational module addressing this recommendation. The concern with not educating trainees before graduation is that incident and near misses tend to remain underreported because of the perpetuating negative culture surrounding error reporting. This in turn hinders learning from the event and stifles growth toward voluntary sharing of broken processes and system failures (Barnsteiner, 2011). The current focus on Quality Improvement is to provide high reliable care with little to zero risks by including the combined and unceasing efforts of everyone healthcare professionals, patients and their families, researchers, payers, planners and educators to make changes that will lead to better patient outcomes (health), better system performance (care) and better professional development (IHI, 2015). • 47. James Joyce Symbolism The Dead By James Joyce tells the tale of the early twentieth century upper class society in the Irish city of Dublin. The story tells of the characters entrapment, the tragic lives they lead and hiding behind the conventions of their society. This comes together, not only to tell of the individual tragedy of these people s lives, but to tell the tragic story of all of Ireland, as its true problems become obscured in so many ways. The story dramatizes a dialogue between Gabriel s consciousness and unconsciousness. Throughout the story there are several signs of the symbolism theory. Therefore, I will show how symbolism plays an important role in the story The Dead. Joyce lets symbolism flow freely throughout his story. He utilizes his main characters and objects to impress upon the readers his view of Dublins crippled condition. Coupled with his depiction of Dublin s transfixed status through the characters, Joyce illustrates his theme of paralysis through snow. Symbolically representing the cold and dead Dublin due to its uncertain political period. Winter is a time for celebration and holiday but it is also a symbol for eternal sleep and death. Joyce takes on a more deeper meaning, symbolizing how humans are the same way, frozen temporarily in an impermanent state: alive but always dying; just as snow will always melt, human life will always end. Throughout the text all manifestations of winter, cold, white snow and the season itself usually represents mortality. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Though he was not considered the best artist of his time, when he was alive, he managed to reinvigorate religious art in both Rome and Naples, allowing for wide spread change in the religious art world, that, after spreading through Rome, reached almost all corners of Europe. Though Caravaggiowas acursed with a violent hand, he is considered to be one of the most influential artists of the 17th century, as his style revolved around taking certain characteristics from previous afamed artists, thus allowing for him to create his own unique style that was recognized nationwide, leading to the term caravaggesque, meaning, when a painting mimics the style of his works, it is deemed as being caravaggesque ....
