Reflection On Social Justice
Georg Christoph Lichtenberg once said I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what
I can say is that they must change if they are to get better. Injustices can be explained as something
that is not to everybody s benefit, or simply something this is unfair. Going into this class, I did not
know much about social justice or cities in general. After being in it for a short 3 weeks, I have
learned a lot of new material and am excited to learn more. I believe that social justice is a
combination of the opportunities and freedoms within the different socioeconomic classes.
Growing up so close to Des Moines, I feel as if I have had plenty of experiences all of which helped
shape my views on social justice. I have lived in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are two things that immediately come to mind when I think about social justice in the real
world. Education is one. Typically, people are more prone to go to college if their parents or siblings
go to college. Going back to the topic of East Des Moines, East high school is not a school that is
looked well upon. The teachers are underpaid and most of the students do not care about their
education enough to go to class everyday. Knowing this, students from schools like that are less likely
to go on to college and get an education. This then leads to them not getting good jobs and making
enough money to support themselves. I believe that this is an injustice because those students do not
choose to go to schools like that, but they get started off on the wrong foot right from the start. People
look down on them because of the school they go to. The other thing I think about when I hear the
word social justice is Racism. Segregation is something that most people don t think is still a problem,
but unfortunately it is. They view segregation as an unfortunate holdover from a racist past, one that is
fading progressively overtime (Massey 1). African American people that live in rougher
neighborhoods, Chicago for example, are usually in the lower socioeconomic class. Being an African
American in the lower socioeconomic class makes it easy for white people to look down on them.

Jung Personality Typology Test Is Designed For Determine...
Jung Personality Typology Test is designed to determine personality type. There are 16 different
personality types measured by 8 traits: extraversion, introversion, sensing, intuition, feeling, thinking,
judging, and perceiving. The leader s results are predominately extrovert, slight preference of sensing
over intuition, slight preference of feeling over thinking, and slight preference of judging over
perceiving (Jung Typology Test, 2017). The Communications Quiz is designed to measure how
effective leaders are at all points in the communications process. The results determined the leader

Part 4. Relationship Building Action Plan People skills are instrumental to a leader s success because
they allow leaders to effectively communicate and listen to their employees. They add value to the
organization by creating trust and mutual respect. Leaders with good people skills communicate
effectively, listen to their employees, understand their employees, and their employees trust them. The
leader s performance was severely affected from lack of people skills. Communication, emotional IQ,
and personality were all areas that the leader needed to improve upon. Communication was identified
multiple times in the peer review and evaluation as a deficiency. The leader s lack of communication
directly led to a loss of productivity in the department. Furthermore, employees felt that they were not
being listening to, leading to a loss of moral and trust. Also, the leader was completely oblivious to the
emotions within the department. If the leader would have taken the time to perceive and understand
the employees emotions, they would have been able to identify the issues within the department and
take corrective measures. Also, things would have never gotten this out of hand if the leader had a
better personality. Many of the employees felt the leader was unapproachable and acted better than
they were, causing employees to stop following the leader. The leader follower relationship is
instrumental to fulfilling the strategic plan of the leader. The leader

Leadership Styles
Introduction
Leadership and management are two different subjects but both are essential for an organizations
growth. Leadership is A relationship through which one person influences the behaviour or actions of
other people (Smith P et al 2012), whilst Management is more about getting things done on a day to
day basis and ensuring consistency (Smith P et al 2012).In simple context Managers helps in doing the
right thing where as Leaders do the right things. Having a strong Leader and Management an
organization can reap the benefits of Competitive advantage as it would distinguish them to be an
organization with core values, goals and scope which will eventually help them grow. It is understood
that successful leaders do not habitually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since Virgin is in the long haul market and is operating in different countries the organizational
structure is more of a Divisional Structure , as the company is geographically mapped and is Customer
Orientated. Whereas O Leary s Ryanair could be classified to be using the Classical Approach of
Bureaucracy (Max Weber 1947), Weber states that a bureaucratic organisation is technically the most
efficient form of organisation possible................. The bureaucratic organisation becomes typical of all
the modern societies. (Pugh amp; Hickinson 1996)
There is not a single theory or approach to leadership that fails to recognize that a fundamental quality
of leaders irrespective of whether leadership is innate, learned, situational, or whatever is an ability to
inspire and motivate people (Clegg, S. Et al 2006 Managing and Organizations). One of the key
elements for a business to prosper is Motivation whether they are financial or Non financial
incentives. Both Branson and O Leary have contrasting styles of leadership and management which
further leads to different styles of Motivation. Branson being the fun loving personality he is interacts
with his employees. While Herzbergs Two Factor Theory (1959) Motivators appear to be the case for
Branson and his company, O Leary s on the other hand with his Low cost Driven and no Frills

clear hierarchy, they will peck the one did not obey the rules, which is called cannibalism, causing
death. ODI s contact lens for chicken could efficiently reduce this behavior through reducing their
visuals.
As the only company in current industry, ODI faces a problem about future marketing, including
customer segmentation, locations of regional offices, pricing policy and the strategy of convincing
farmers to use the new product.
Based on the case, the target customer should be the farms having flock size over 50,000 and the
locations of regional offices should be in California, South Atlantic, Middle Atlantic and West South
Central. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the analysis above, the target consumers of ODI should be medium and large farms.
Marketing Analysis
Locations of Regional Offices
According to Exhibit 3, California and South Atlantic are the top two areas that have significant
difference in the number of farms having flock size over 50,000. Since these two locations contain
about 45% of farm with flock size between 50,000 and 99,000 and about 46% of farms with flock size
100,000 and over, regional offices should be set and more selling effort should be invested. The
specific numbers are as following: California South Atlantic Total Total Number of Farms Percentage
in Total
Flock size 50,000 99,000 114 168 282 631 45%
Flock size 100,000 and over 87 70 157 345 46%
(Source: Exhibit 3)
Since four to five regional offices should be set, the other locations should be Middle Atlantic and
West South Central. The specific numbers are as following: Middle Atlantic West South Central Total
Total Number of Farms Percentage in Total
Flock size 50,000 99,000 55 77 132 631 21%
Flock size 100,000 and over 29 42 71 345 21%
(Source: Exhibit 3)
Since less farms than California and South Atlantic exist in these two areas, selling efforts could be
invest less, either.

Essence Of Waqf In Quran And Hadith
Introduction
Essence of waqf in Quran and Hadith. In the verses of Quran, By no means you attain righteousness
unless you give 9freely) of that which you love, and whatever you give, of a truth God know it well.
(Al Imran, 3:92). And in Hadith, the Prophet said: When a man dies his acts come to an end, except
three things which is recurring charity, knowledge (by which people benefit), and pious offspring, who
pray for him .
Waqf is by no means an insignificant instituition in Islam. It potential can be discerned by the very
insistence on the non transferability of the ownership rights of the property. Once a piece of property
is given for a charitable purpose, the owner ceases to have any claims over it, because the property is
said to belong to no one but Allah. This concept is great importance for the development of the poorer
section of society if such waqf properties would be managed to generate inome for distribution or
even for further accumulation of assets. Waqf itself also can be regarded as an important economic
activities whilst at the same time ensuring that the benefits will accure to some specific sections of
society.

well. Al Syafie said that waqf is to keep the wealth that can give benefit, and keep it remaining in the

is beneficial to the needy and the wealth remains in the same condition as well as the owner is not

The Concentration Of Vitamin C
Vitamin C Investigation
Aim: I want to find out whether the concentration of Vitamin C in Golden Circle Pineapple juice
changes over time.
Hypothesis: My hypothesis for this investigation will argue that the Vitamin C level in Golden Circle
Pineapple juice will decrease over time.
Chemical information and safety surrounding the use of these substances.
Previous scientific work: CHEEKY NANDOS
Vitamin C: Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a water soluble vitamin, which is needed by the body to form
collagen in bones, cartilage, muscle, and blood vessels. Dietary sources of vitamin C include fruits and
vegetables, particularly citrus fruits such as oranges.
Severe deficiency of vitamin C is known to cause scurvy. Many uses for vitamin C have been
proposed, but evidence of benefit in scientific studies is lacking. In particular, research on asthma,
cancer, and diabetes remains inconclusive, and a lack of benefit has been found for the prevention of
cataracts or heart disease.
The use of vitamin C in the prevention or treatment of colds remains controversial. Extensive research
has been conducted. Overall, vitamin C lacked an effect on the development of colds and on cold
symptoms. However, the duration of the cold shortened slightly. Notably, people living in extreme
circumstances, including soldiers in the subarctic, skiers, and marathon runners, had a 50% decrease
in the risk of developing a cold. This area merits additional research and may be of particular interest

Mary Musgrove s Role In Native American History

has created them to be viewed as heroic figures, ultimately causing them to influence and improve
Native American history. Mary Musgrove was born in 1700 in Georgia, and was a member of the
Cherokee. She was a colonial American translator and negotiator for English and Yamacraw ancestry.
She facilitated in the development of Colonial Georgia and became an important negotiator between
the Muscogee Creek Indians and the English colonists. These two distinct societies caused Musgrove
to bridge the gap between them, ultimately causing her to become a cultural mediator, who not only
translated but advised those who acknowledged her capabilities and hardships. After many years of
attempting to unite two diverse worlds, she died in her sleep in 1767. Mary Musgrove is known as an

Mcclintock Use Propaganda Techniques In Today s Advertising
In the essay Propaganda Techniques in Today s Advertising by Ann McClintock, McClintock defines
the different propaganda techniques. She explains how common the techniques are in plenty of
advertisements. Car companies applies multiple propaganda techniques to advertise their cars. In a
magazine for cars, Toyota make use of two notable techniques in an advertisement for a Toyota
Corolla. The full page ad pictures the Corolla driving along a curvy road with no guard rails that is
uplifted above clouds. The car is in the middle of the one lane on the road. The caption says, Helping

Next to the car are three average people standing near the cliff s edge. All three have their backs facing
the camera and one of them is taking pictures of the mountains and the river in the distance. The
caption reads, Get in touch with a different kind of remote. The first technique noticed is glittering
generalities. The phrase, Get in touch with a different kind of remote doesn t mean anything; however,
the words provoke feelings. The words allow the intended audience to feel that the car would bring a
sense of peace in the way an isolated location would. The image of an isolated place with only three
people picture helps to reaffirm this feeling. Another technique was plain folks. This technique utilizes
people who appear average to make the ad more relatable. The people shown are dressed in average
clothing and doing things, like taking pictures and pointing at the mountains, as any normal person
would in that setting. Also, because the people s faces aren t shown, helps to reinforce the feeling of
relatability by allowing the audience to more easily imagine as if they could be the people in the

Crisis Of Identity Essay
Crisis of identity has been a powerful conflict throughout American literature. Suffering, destruction,
and distress initiate when characters are unable to disengage and disburden themselves from the
conflict of who they are. In American literature, crisis of identity can be caused by ethnic background,
society, family, history, and other influences. Through the novels, The Joy Luck Club and The
Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, the characters are engaged with the theme search for
self, which results in them experiencing crisis of identity. Arnold Spirit Jr. is epigrammatic, skillful,

reservation because he chose to attend a white school. Prior to Junior transferring schools, he is seen
as an Indian at Reardan and seen as too white on the rez. Junior tries to come with a conclusion of
where he stands in both societies. Through the middle of the novel, the feeling of separation and
uncomfortableness grows at his new school and on the reservation, which he deals with in order to
achieve his goal of getting a better education than most Indians and finding his identity. According to
the novel, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian. Junior felt lonely after he transferred
schools: After I decided to go to Reardan, I felt like an invisible mountain gorilla scientist (Alexie

compares how scientist believed mountain gorillas didn t exist and how no one treated Junior like he

The Moral Dilemma Of By Stephen Covey
MANIPULATED PERCEPTION
Generalising, all of our physical senses are stored as subconscious memories the people, objects (even
apparitions and the supernatural), etc. which may appear in our dreams are comprised of our
knowledge of the external reality. Memory fragments are ubiquitous in all forms of cognitive
processing stored memories enable the brain to construct mental content. As a result, an individual s
perception will vary according to the memories and knowledge accumulated by the physical senses
since birth, and consequently, as Stephen Covey asserts: We see the world, not as it is, but as we are,

Whilst in the second dream layer, the emotional trigger I will create something for myself examines
the establishment of self identity, further underpinned by the utilisation of first person and high
modality. It accommodates Fischer s youth and abrupt inheritance of wealth and power while targeting
his emotional proclivity to aspiration and self esteem. Finally, in the third dream layer, the emotional
trigger My father doesn t want me to be him targets Fischer s youthful impulses for self worth and
independence, and metaphorically implies an alternate pathway, unbound by familial expectations.
Fischer has chosen this permanent reality unconditionally and independently, albeit unwillingly, and
this choice cannot be disputed.
Another example, but much more exaggerated, is epitomised by Mal s germination of a relative
reality. The close up shot of the safe with Mal s totem locked inside (01:17:22) is symbolic of her
repressed subconscious, in which she willingly chooses to literally and metaphorically conceal the
object which allows her to discern between reality and dreams A truth that she (Mal) had once known,
but chose to forget. This permanent relative reality which Mal has unconditionally and independently
embraced has become an absolute reality.
Overall, Nolan demonstrates how germinating propagandistic seeds of ideas can be used to

My philosophy on teaching is simple. Quality over quantity. Rather than inundating students with
copious amounts of meaningless busy work, I would rather focus on ensuring that each and every
student comprehends and fully understands whatever topic I may be presenting that day. I have had
my fair share of experience with apathetic teachers at the high school and university level so I am well
aware of the toxic and stale environment that they propagate within their classrooms. Education is one
of the most precious gifts we are given in our lives and that is the atmosphere I wish to promote within
my own classroom. While some students may agree with this concept, I am aware that there are just as
many that will not. However, through putting in time and hard work I believe that I will be able to

Apartheid In South Africa
The music from the Apartheid in South Africa was extremely important in the movement for freedom.
At a time when there wasn t much money for the Anti Apartheid Movement, music became the most
important weapon. The songs sung all over South Africa in resistance to the Apartheid intimidated the
government more than weapons and violence could because of the powerful meaning behind each
song that unified and strengthened the resistance. Artists all over South Africa wrote songs speaking
out against the government and its cruel laws and although many of them were banned, the people of

The earliest variations of Nkosi Sikelel Afrika , like the upbeat Masowe Apostles and the slower
Marankes, inspired many artists to do the same. Some used the lyrics or melody to add to their own
original songs, like the aggressive rap by Prophets of da City and Dan Moyane s fusion of the song s
lyrics with the melody of Die Stem Van Suid Afrika , South Africa s national anthem during the
Apartheid. Others used the song as inspiration for songs with similar lyrics, like Nkosi Yethu by Isaian
Shembe and Mwari Komberera Africa by John Maranke. Despite being banned by the government,
Nkosi Sikelel Afrika continued to be sung throughout the Apartheid and became so important that it
was named the national anthem of South Africa at the end of the Apartheid. Although Nkosi Sikelel
Afrika was originally a religious hymn, the lyrics had a very prominent political connotation. The
song was not a revolutionary song in the traditional sense, but a prayer for freedom and equality. The
meaning of the lyrics, shown below, called for the Lord to help the people. The seven additional
verses, especially the last one, transformed the song from a religious hymn to a song calling for hope
and the power to fight back. Although the words do not directly attack the government, they are much
more powerful to the people of South Africa than any revolutionary song. Lord, bless Africa May her
horn rise high up; Hear Thou our prayers and bless

Pro and Con of Liberalized Gambling in Texas
Efforts are once again underway in the legislature to bring casino style gambling to Texas. It s an idea
that has failed in recent legislative sessions, but backers are hoping they ve found the right formula for
success in 2009.
There are many appealing arguments on the side of pro gambling groups. Keeping gambling money
that is now going to Louisiana and Oklahoma in Texas is one popular idea. Reviving the state s horse
raising industry by allowing slot machines at racetracks is another. Some advocates want to help
struggling Indian tribes develop their economies through gambling.
Opponents generally cite moral grounds for their hostility to gambling legislation. There are, however,
many fiscal arguments against gambling as well. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, this session is the first for new Texas House of Representatives Speaker Joe Straus, who
has family ties to the horse raising industry. This creates a potential conflict of interest should any bills
related to casinos at horse racing tracks come before the House. To deflect criticism, Straus has
peremptorily recused himself from any role in considering such legislation.
However, Straus created the committees which will oversee gambling issues, assigned members to
them and selected which bills are referred to which committees. So far, most of the gambling
legislation filed in the Texas House has been referred to committee. That filed in the Texas Senate,
where Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst presides, has not been referred.
To his credit, Straus did not pack any of the committees dealing with gambling. The Licensing and
Administration Committee, through which most gambling goes, retains roughly the same percentage
of members for and against gambling as the previous committee under Speaker Tom Craddick. In both
cases, the committee leaned slightly toward expanding gambling.

Explain The Adversarial Approach To Court Proceedings
1. I believe the adversarial approach to court proceedings tends to render a just determination in most
cases. However, I also believe the adversarial approach has faults within the system. The adversarial
system offers many safeguards to ensure that justice is fair. Lawyers are allowed to have a decision in
the jury process at both civil and criminal proceedings. Yet, the civil matters can only have a jury in
Superior Court for specific types of claims. Selection of the jury helps the advocates ensure that their
clients receive the highest fairness of justice. Advocates do their best to ensure that all jury members
are impartial to their clients matter.
Although judges and advocates do their best to ensure the jury is impartial, there are instances when
the jury feels more attached to one client. Generally speaking, if the case before the jury involved a
man assaulting a young girl and the jury was predominantly women, the jury may decide in favour of
the young girl before hearing all aspects of the matter. This creates bias within the justice system.
Relying on peers of a society is not always the best option. Jurors may not understand that they are
only to look at facts of the case and not outstanding matters. There have been famous Canadian cases,
David Milgaard and Steven Truscott, where the jury decided wrong on a matter and the men went to
prison for decades. Are there other cases where people have been found guilty who are not guilty?
This has to be the biggest

FALL 2015 Case Study Week 5: Winston Churchill
In 1946, Winston Churchill gave his speech that is known as The Iron Curtain , to announce the
beginning of the Cold War. The Iron Curtain consists of blocking the Soviet Union s ideals, politics
and military away from Europe. The Soviet Union valued communist ideals and a dictatorship. After
World War II, the United States became a pillar for the ideals of capitalism and democracy. The
Communist ideals imposed by Soviet Union expansion could threat the West because they go against
Western s morals. The United States has a history of fighting for freedom, for the ability of people to

For example, with government owned companies and limited opening for trade, Communist countries
treat the philosophy of free markets in the West, which could put a hold on many of the transactions
with Europe. The ideologies also conflicted in the sense of military goals. For the United States, the
goal was to protect democracy, a concept believed to be the best outcome for countries. Britain and the
United States wanted to help Germany recover from the war, and worried that Communism would
spread throughout Europe. The Soviet Union, on the other hand, wanted to spread Communist values
and gain allies in Europe to protect the Soviet Union against future invasions.
Churchill refers to the fact that the Soviet Union needs to secure its borders. His intentions were to say
that the Soviet Union had the right to want protection against a possible German aggression. He also
welcomed and recognized that the Soviet Union is among one of the most powerful nations of the
world, but it should not enforce it through military expansion and imposing a dictatorship system.
Churchill wanted to ask the Soviet Union politely to stop imposing its ideals and military intervention

A Marketing Campaign
When it comes to your social media management and other online operations a consistent and ongoing
administration and observation of activity is crucial. This ensures your business even if engaging and
generating substantial interest at present remains well prepared for a sudden turn in market interest or
(even better) an opportunity upon which to grow and establish your base further. This means regular
check ins and a willingness to evaluate and adjust your content as necessary. While some will say if it
ain t broke, don t fix it in the world of social media innovation and a consistent generation of new
ideas is essential. Those who post the same sort of photo again and again on their Instagram or post
similar posts on their Facebook or Twitter advertising sales every week and month will soon find
themselves losing an ongoing audience; and finding little to no recurring engagement with their
content due to familiarity and predictability.
Ongoing Continued with regular check ins to evaluate and adjust
Undoubtedly, one of the necessities of a marketing campaign is the consistent revision and
consideration of methods and techniques that are working; and methods and techniques that are
perhaps in need of adjustment. What this means in practice is drawing up a plan before you begin to
regularly revise and ensure that your targets are being met and being willing to look again at what can
be done if they are not. When it comes to content marketing this has a

Prayer Should Not Be Allowed In Public Schools
Not During School Hours What s the harm in an occasional spoken prayer at school every now and
then? Are times such as an assembly, sporting event, or graduation acceptable? The debate of prayer in
public schools has been an ongoing issue for over fifty years now. It seems like a simple yes or no
answer. As a Christian who attended a private school, my initial answer was a definite yes. I have
always believed that God should be present in every school all over the world mainly because my
school s activities were centered around prayer. However, after much research, I have found a
different point of view. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools due to the fact that these
schools consist of numerous religions, it is unconstitutional, and it creates different burdens for each
person in the school. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools because more than just Christians
attend these schools. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In an article titled, The Dangers of Religious Instruction in Public Schools, a Wisconsin State Supreme
Court justice noted, There is no such source and cause of strife, quarrel, fights, malignant opposition,
persecution, and war, and all evil in the state, as religion. Let it once enter our civil affairs, our
government would soon be destroyed. Let it once enter our common schools, they would be
destroyed. (Gaylor). In all actuality, the Supreme Court does not have a set rule that the students can t
pray while they are at school, but it is set that the school itself can t hold religious assemblies
(Strauss). Both Gaylor and Strauss agree that this separation is important. Public schools are funded
and controlled by the government. If religion were placed back in the schools it, too, would be
controlled by the government. It would soon not hold the same value that it does while it is separate

A Doll s House By Henrik Ibsen
Realism is a theatrical movement during the 19th century, illustrating a story without artificial and
supernatural elements, in other words, a realism play would show things that happen in our everyday
life, much like naturalism. We can distinguish realism from other theatrical movements by the facts
that its characters are believable to be the everyday type, the costumes are authentic to the time period
being illustrated, the setting is based in only one location that is as close to our everyday life as
possible, and because the story happens within 24 hours and only has one story line.
There are many similarities between realism and naturalism. Some of those similarities are that both

Although it was not until the mid 1900 that modern realism really emerged. By the 1950s, the box set
with three walls was introduced and popularized. The box set is a way to stage something so that it
creates the illusion of an interior room on the stage.
An important name during the modern realism movement is Henrik Ibsen. Ibsen is now considered the
founder of modern realism. Ibsen owes his title to his most famous play A Doll s House featuring the
the taboo and deep seeded unrest in women of the time (1). In other words, Ibsen illustrated the
everyday lives of his middle class audience.
In doing so, Ibsen was soon followed by the Russians Chekhov and Gorky. Both writers were
founders of the socialist realism, which is a style with the purpose of spreading the goals of socialism
and communism. Chekhov and Gorky wrote about the boredom of the uneventful lives of the middle
class, and later on they would portray the poorest classes as a suffering and working class. Gorky
wrote The Lower Depths , which illustrated the working class and their living conditions. On the other
hand, Chekhov wrote Three Sisters or even The Lady With the Dog , which portrayed the life of the
middle class. All of those plays are now considered masterpieces of the socialist realism

Essay On The Seven Years War
The Seven Years War marked a huge turning point in American History, as it changed the outlook of
the British, making them branch away from their salutary neglect, and convinced the Americans for
Independence as the British started changing their way of enforcing taxes and laws. The War changed
the people s opinions in both Europe and America. Americans started to despise the British, while the
British started to resent the colonists because they did not help with paying the war. The changes and
similarities that occurred before and after the war led to a more enforced government, as Salutary
Neglect was forgotten, led to resentment towards each other as the British thought the war debt was
left to be paid by the colonists, and became a turning point as colonists started to struggle against
Britain s imperial balance of power in North America and the continuity of Native Americans fighting
for their land.

How Technology Has Changed Our Life
The recent changes in technology has been vast comparatively to any other decade. We have come a
long way from riding around on horses to modern self driving cars (Google,2015). From cordless to
smart phones. The technology has completely changed the lifestyle of a day to day routine. At the
moment we are able to do almost everything on a 5 inch touchscreen that would require basically a
whole desktop PC just a decade ago or so. Considering that we have come to the tech era, how
difficult is it for the older generation to cope up with the digital living. Or how the young generation
has adapted to the tech digital life completely in areas such as Business Management. This paper
solely concentrates on the generational gap, older generation viewed as digital tourist and younger
generation adapting the digital life, various aspects including business management. Use of
Technology Firstly, we need to understand how technology is important in the digital era as of today.
To make It more precise we will concentrate on the business management use to technology. A
business will require storage devices. Software s such as excel spreadsheet workbooks to keep data
records of incoming and outgoing sales or accounting software to calculate payroll of the employees
of the business or company, all of which will require a computer which has a storage device on it. A
business biggest strength to reach new customers is advertising or marketing. As the internet is taking

Self driving cars are on the way. Soon, you ll be able to purchase a fully autonomous vehicle, jump in
and leave the driving to computers. Play games, read a book or recline your seat and nap your self
driving car will transport you safely to your journey s end.
Autonomous driving features such as adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist are already

By 2020, the first fully autonomous vehicles are expected to deploy on America s roadways.
Consumers, however, are not sharing the same enthusiasm owned by self driving proponents of
autonomous vehicle technology. Indeed, three out of four Americans surveyed by AAA say that they
are afraid to ride in a self driving vehicle.
Decades of Autonomous Vehicle Testing
Before we examine the AAA survey, we need to gain context based on background.
Experiments on self driving vehicles have been ongoing for decades. For example, beginning in the
1980s, a German researcher at a Munich university, Ernst Dickmanns, built the world s first robotic
car. Those earlier models required human intervention to control engine throttle and braking. By 1995,
Dickmanns team launched the first fully autonomous vehicle, a Mercedes Benz S Class and
inaugurated it on a 1,000 mile round tripper from Munich to Denmark and back, including nearly 100
miles of human free control.(2)

The Cafe Window
In the early evening back at home Consuelo was still pacing in front of the café window. Concerned
for the safety of her only son, who had departed this morning wearing his sleepwear and robe. Her jaw
fell open when on the sidewalk before her appeared Stella and Sol, with much audacity. Carrying up
the path garment bags from a high end department store. Behind them was Dr. Edwards who had just
pulled in after his long shift at work. He walked towards Stella who was standing in front of the door.
He greeted her with a big, juicy, wet, kiss, then they all just walked right in.
Consuelo, who was still owning her tantrum, was offended by their smiles and casual stances. Not
wanting to believe what she was seeing when she questioned, Are those really garment bags you

wedding invitation. My daughter gets married next Saturday. We will dress impeccably well for the
fiasco. Consuelo who was speechless regained her composure for a moment, I understand that she

going to look your finest for the biggest mistake your daughter is going to make in her life? I just don t

Batman Masculinity
The way our society views what it means to be a man is shaped by family, community, and popular
culture. While the narrow definition of acceptable masculinity has expanded in the last three decades,
there is still a great amount of anxiety and pressure over being the right kind of man. Like many of my
generation, gender performance and masculinity were formed by reading and watching superhero
narratives as a youth. What were the deeper messages in those stories that engrossed our weekends
and evening hours and what do they say about us as a society?
A perfect microcosm of how gender is treated in the genre was the way Batman and The Joker in
graphic novels were reshaped by changing demands of masculinity. In the 1980 s two graphic ... Show

I don t think it was right for super heroes to be bogged down with real world problems. I was more

Interest Groups In Elections
Interest groups have a lot of influence over decision that the government makes and has made. These
groups, when formed right, are highly organized and have a definite agenda they are trying to push
that is important to them. Interest groups will lobby in congress as well as other levels of government
to get new laws and regulations passed. In recent elections on the congressional level as well as for
President we see the growing influences of interest groups in the form of PAC s and Super PAC s to
back candidates. Super PAC s can spend an unrestricted amount money to support a certain problems
or candidate but cannot donate directly to the campaigns. PAC s work with campaigns directly
reallocating donations to candidates and parties. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One is putting money towards the campaigns of Congressmen and women that either support their
shared ideals. This is not the buying of votes though as it is seen to the public eye that would be a
waste of funds to go about trying to pass policy that way. Hall and Waymen argue that interest groups
and PAC money that is used to back certain candidate in election is not to buy votes but to mobilize
the legislative process. Simply put, interest group resources are intended to accomplish something
different from, and more than, influencing elections or buying votes...we argue that PAC money
should be allocated in order to mobilize legislative support and demobilization opposition, particularly
at the most important point in the legislative process. That is only one way that they influence
congress. Public support is another. If an interest group can gather enough public support behind their
issues they can effect change in government policy. For example the NAACP in its fight for civil
rights. Interest groups work with the government to push policy. Without the government some
interest groups would exist because of the government grants that they receive. Other groups can be

Analysis Of A Certain Lady By Dorothy Parker
Love, by definition, is an intense feeling of affection, associated with attachment. Love can be very
painful for many people since they end up getting hurt by the person they love. With the power love
possesses, it has been used throughout literature in plays, books, poems, essays, and more. Dorothy
Parker was a writer starting when she was in her twenties. Over the years, she began writing her own
books, which became very popular. She expanded her writing style through her career and became
very well known for how realistic and blunt her writing was. In the poem A Certain Lady, Dorothy
Parker uses symbolism to convey a theme of how damaging love can be. For example, Parker
describes eager lips to show her attraction to him, even though he was causing her pain by not being
faithful. She also describes that her heart is dying over and over every time he tells her of his
excursions with other women. Parker seems regretful by the way she ends her poem, and the
characters are never described individually.
Symbolism is used throughout Parker s poem, creating an unclear connotation. She uses words such as
eager lips to show how intense her emotions are. She feels so very strong for her companion that she
is longing for, that she is hopeful for him to come back to her. Even though she misses him and wants
him to come back from his trips, it is bittersweet for her because he always tells her about what
exactly he has been doing while he was away. Parker also uses symbolism as she writes that her heart
dies over and over, each time her companion explains how he has been with other women. This could
represent that her love is dying for him each time he cheats on her, or that she is so disappointed in
him that she cannot give him her whole heart. Though she seems desperate sometimes throughout the
poem, I believe the female character is a strong woman who may just be intimidated by the man she
loves, or even scared of what might happen if she were to leave.
Parker ends the poem with a regretful, mysterious tone. The last lines of the poem read And what goes
on, my love, while you re away, You ll never know. Ending the poem with the uncertainty of not
knowing what really happens when he is away really allows for

Effects of the Cold War in Nicaragua Essays
The Cold War was a period in history right after WWII ended and it ended in 1991, when the USSR
broke apart. The conflict was between two types of governments: the communists and the capitalism
(democrats). The USSR represented the communist side, while the U.S. represented the democrats.
Both countries had nuclear weapons and did not want to fight each other directly because they didn t
want a Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD), so they fought through other countries, by Proxy Wars.
The global tensions in Cold War affected a few countries in a couple of regions, for example Central

Healthcare Systems Vs. Australian Healthcare System
The following paper is based on the differences between two healthcare systems in two different
countries, these systems are the Australian healthcare system which is Medicare, and England s
National health system which is known as the NHS.
Starting with the organizational structure of the NHS, it is basically an umbrella organization that
comprises of four regional branches, in particular, NHS (England), NHS Scotland, Health and Social
Care in Northern Ireland and NHS Wales. The financing for all these institutions comes from a
universal source, particularly the tax payer money of residents of UK, although they operate to an
extent as self governing institutions. The treasury allocates money to the department of Health, which
in turn allocates money to NHS England (Understanding the new NHS). In other words, the top
executives of these four institutions take decisions independently for day to day operations although
they abide by broader governing directives applicable to the UK region as a whole. Governance is an
important aspect of the operating of the NHS, for without it exploitation by private vested interests is
likely to happen. (National Health Service (NHS): A study of its Structure, Funding and Regulation,
Strengths and Weaknesses, n.d.)

The evolutions of the Romanian economy and energy sector, as well as the international trends have

The Romanian Energy Strategy for the period 2007 2020 updated for the period 2011 2020 states as

If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten. Rudyard Kipling. Rudyard
Kipling was born on December 30, 1865 at Bombay, India. Kipling spent the first six years of his
idyllic life in India until his family moved back to England in 1871. After six months of living in
England his parents abandoned him and his three year old sister, leaving them with the Holloway
family, which in turn mistreated him physically and psychologically, this left him with a sense of
betrayal and scars mentally, but it was then Kipling started to grow a love for literature. Between 1878
and 1882 he attended the United Services College at Westward Ho in north Devon. The College was a

England refused to provide for these men, finding it easier to talk about the glory of their soldiers
rather than deliver them sustenance. Kipling s tone is grave and melancholy but also shows a sense of
rage and bitterness that coursed through his lines as well as his life. Kipling was more negative than
most poets at the time and it is no surprise this poem was far less popular.
Kiplings poem boots is about the endless marching done in Africa. Kipling explains how the soldier
would march for days, even weeks with no one to fight, and because the war was still on the endless
marching with nothing to do but stare at the boots in front of you would drive you crazy. We can stick
out unger, thirst, an weariness,/But not not not not the chronic sight of em /Boot boots boots boots
movin up an down again (21 23). Kipling even says, staring at the boots, not knowing when the next
battle will be is even worse than being shot at. Kipling uses repetition in this poem to give the reader a
sense of monotony. Kipling s poem says to count the bullets in the bandoliers and do not let your eyes
drop or the enemy will get on top of you. It is not altogether too bad during the day because of one s
friends, but at night the long strings of forty million are too much to bear. Soldiers marched six weeks
down in Hell and can assert that there is no dark, or devils, or anything else only the

No place has generated so much speculation and wild theories as the standing stones of Stonehenge.
After traveling for miles through the rolling hills and plains of the English countryside the sight of this
unusual structure made me gasp. A walk around it only provoked more strange feelings. There s a
sense that this is something very important. For over 5000 years it has stood silent vigil over the ...

While I can t say with any degree of certainty what it was for, we can say that it wasn t constructed for
any casual purpose. Only something very important to the ancients would have been worth the effort
and investment that it took to construct Stonehenge. I believe with all the information I have gathered
I can only ask myself this question:
II. Stonehenge Facts
A. Location
It is located about 18.5 miles (30 km) south of the Avebury site and 8 miles (13 km) northwest of
Salisbury, in Wiltshire, England.
B. Materials Used and Structure
Its general architecture has also been subjected to centuries of weathering. The monument consists of
a number of structural elements, mostly circular in plan. On the outside is a circular ditch, with a bank
immediately within it, all interrupted by an entrance gap on the northeast, leading to a straight path
called the Avenue. At the center of the circle is a stone setting consisting of a horseshoe of tall uprights
of sarsen (Tertiary sandstone) encircled by a ring of tall sarsen uprights, all originally capped by
horizontal sarsen stones in a post and lintel arrangement. Within the sarsen stone circle were also
configurations of smaller and lighter bluestones (igneous rock of diabase, rhyolite, and volcanic ash),
but most of these bluestones have disappeared. Additional stones include the Altar Stone, the
Slaughter Stone, the Heel Stone, and the Station stones, and the last standing on

Ernest Hemingway Code Hero Analysis
A code hero is a term coined by Ernest Hemingway through his writing during the modernism
timeframe. A code hero is a character who exhibits grace under pressure, matures throughout a novel,
and fears death, but is not afraid to face it. In The Sun Also Rises, Hemingway uses Jake Barnes to
exemplify a code hero. Barnes is veteran of World War I who has to face life with the affliction the
war left him with. This affliction left Barnes impotent and, in turn, incapable of having a romantic life
with Brett Ashley. The war left a scar on the generation who saw the abhorrence man committed to
one another and caused them to reject the idea of romance. Jake Barnes is the epitome of a code hero
because he matures throughout The Sun Also Rises and finds contentment with his life. Jake Barnes is
a journalist who lives in Paris, Barnes is in love with Brett Ashley but can never have a relationship
with her because the war has left him impotent. Lady Ashley has control over Barnes, and he is
willing to do anything for her. The reason Lady Ashley keeps Barnes along is because he is no threat
to her. Brett knows Jake is too emotionally attached to leave her, but he cannot be intimate, therefore
Jake could not hurt her. Robert Cohn is a Jewish man who Jake dislikes, Cohn never witnessed the
war and believes in romance and codes. Jake is stuck in the same routine in Paris in which Brett uses
him emotionally, and Cohn annoys him. Barnes takes a yearly trip to Pamplona to watch the Running

The Economic Characteristics Of The Global Motor Vehicle...

  • 2. Reflection On Social Justice Georg Christoph Lichtenberg once said I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what I can say is that they must change if they are to get better. Injustices can be explained as something that is not to everybody s benefit, or simply something this is unfair. Going into this class, I did not know much about social justice or cities in general. After being in it for a short 3 weeks, I have learned a lot of new material and am excited to learn more. I believe that social justice is a combination of the opportunities and freedoms within the different socioeconomic classes. There are two things that immediately come to mind when I think about social justice in the real world. Education is one. Typically, people are more prone to go to college if their parents or siblings go to college. Going back to the topic of East Des Moines, East high school is not a school that is looked well upon. The teachers are underpaid and most of the students do not care about their education enough to go to class everyday. Knowing this, students from schools like that are less likely to go on to college and get an education. This then leads to them not getting good jobs and making enough money to support themselves. I believe that this is an injustice because those students do not choose to go to schools like that, but they get started off on the wrong foot right from the start. People look down on them because of the school they go to. The other thing I think about when I hear the word social justice is Racism. Segregation is something that most people don t think is still a problem, but unfortunately it is. They view segregation as an unfortunate holdover from a racist past, one that is fading progressively overtime (Massey 1). African American people that live in rougher neighborhoods, Chicago for example, are usually in the lower socioeconomic class. The leader s performance was severely affected from lack of people skills. Communication, emotional IQ, and personality were all areas that the leader needed to improve upon. Communication was identified multiple times in the peer review and evaluation as a deficiency. The leader s lack of communication directly led to a loss of productivity in the department. Furthermore, employees felt that they were not being listening to, leading to a loss of moral and trust. Also, the leader was completely oblivious to the emotions within the department. However, Straus created the committees which will oversee gambling issues, assigned members to them and selected which bills are referred to which committees. So far, most of the gambling legislation filed in the Texas House has been referred to committee. That filed in the Texas Senate, where Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst presides, has not been referred. • 22. Explain The Adversarial Approach To Court Proceedings 1. I believe the adversarial approach to court proceedings tends to render a just determination in most cases. However, I also believe the adversarial approach has faults within the system. The adversarial system offers many safeguards to ensure that justice is fair. Lawyers are allowed to have a decision in the jury process at both civil and criminal proceedings. Yet, the civil matters can only have a jury in Superior Court for specific types of claims. Selection of the jury helps the advocates ensure that their clients receive the highest fairness of justice. Advocates do their best to ensure that all jury members are impartial to their clients matter. Although judges and advocates do their best to ensure the jury is impartial, there are instances when the jury feels more attached to one client. Generally speaking, if the case before the jury involved a man assaulting a young girl and the jury was predominantly women, the jury may decide in favour of the young girl before hearing all aspects of the matter. This creates bias within the justice system. Relying on peers of a society is not always the best option. Jurors may not understand that they are only to look at facts of the case and not outstanding matters. There have been famous Canadian cases, David Milgaard and Steven Truscott, where the jury decided wrong on a matter and the men went to prison for decades. Are there other cases where people have been found guilty who are not guilty? This has to be the biggest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Iron Curtain consists of blocking the Soviet Union s ideals, politics and military away from Europe. The Soviet Union valued communist ideals and a dictatorship. After World War II, the United States became a pillar for the ideals of capitalism and democracy. Britain and the United States wanted to help Germany recover from the war, and worried that Communism would spread throughout Europe. The Soviet Union, on the other hand, wanted to spread Communist values and gain allies in Europe to protect the Soviet Union against future invasions. Churchill refers to the fact that the Soviet Union needs to secure its borders. His intentions were to say that the Soviet Union had the right to want protection against a possible German aggression. Are times such as an assembly, sporting event, or graduation acceptable? The debate of prayer in public schools has been an ongoing issue for over fifty years now. It seems like a simple yes or no answer. As a Christian who attended a private school, my initial answer was a definite yes. I have always believed that God should be present in every school all over the world mainly because my school s activities were centered around prayer. However, after much research, I have found a different point of view. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools due to the fact that these schools consist of numerous religions, it is unconstitutional, and it creates different burdens for each person in the school. • 34. Analysis Of A Certain Lady By Dorothy Parker Love, by definition, is an intense feeling of affection, associated with attachment. Love can be very painful for many people since they end up getting hurt by the person they love. With the power love possesses, it has been used throughout literature in plays, books, poems, essays, and more. Dorothy Parker was a writer starting when she was in her twenties. Over the years, she began writing her own books, which became very popular. She expanded her writing style through her career and became very well known for how realistic and blunt her writing was. In the poem A Certain Lady, Dorothy Parker uses symbolism to convey a theme of how damaging love can be. For example, Parker describes eager lips to show her attraction to him, even though he was causing her pain by not being faithful. She also describes that her heart is dying over and over every time he tells her of his excursions with other women. Parker seems regretful by the way she ends her poem, and the characters are never described individually. Symbolism is used throughout Parker s poem, creating an unclear connotation. She uses words such as eager lips to show how intense her emotions are. She feels so very strong for her companion that she is longing for, that she is hopeful for him to come back to her. Even though she misses him and wants him to come back from his trips, it is bittersweet for her because he always tells her about what exactly he has been doing while he was away. Parker also uses symbolism as she writes that her heart dies over and over, each time her companion explains how he has been with other women. This could represent that her love is dying for him each time he cheats on her, or that she is so disappointed in him that she cannot give him her whole heart. Though she seems desperate sometimes throughout the poem, I believe the female character is a strong woman who may just be intimidated by the man she loves, or even scared of what might happen if she were to leave. Parker ends the poem with a regretful, mysterious tone. The last lines of the poem read And what goes on, my love, while you re away, You ll never know.
