Digital literacy refers to the ability to use technology and digital tools to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information. It involves more than just basic computer skills, but also developing critical thinking about the information found online. As technology becomes more integrated into society and education, digital literacy is important for both digital natives who are accustomed to technology from a young age as well as digital immigrants who are still learning to navigate the digital world. Teachers need to develop digital skills to engage digital native students and help all students think critically about the digital tools and information they encounter.

Abstract
Over the last decade, the way people communicate with each other has been changing astonishingly. The
extensive new plethora of media has given to customers more options to gather and provide information
about products and services. This study attempted to identify and measure the degree to which Social
Networking Sites influence people's professional lives, their social skills and work productivity and
ultimately boost effectiveness. Quantitative and qualitative methodologies were used for this research.
The results reveal that Social Networking Sites play an essential role in employees‟ relations with
customers, that Instant Messaging (IM) services offered by Social Networking Sites can be a crucial
element for organizations in disseminating information, enabling knowledge sharing, increasing
productivity and promoting teamwork. It seems that customer engagement and Customer Relationship
Management (CRM) are vital tools for organizational effectiveness, not only to maintain loyal clients but
also to survive and keep maintaining profitability.

Digital literacy is a person’s ability to find, evaluate, and clearly communicate information through various digital platforms. It is a person’s ability to perform tasks effectively in a digital environment. It encompasses 21st century skills that are interdisciplinary in nature and related to the effective and appropriate use of digital technologies. A digitally literate person becomes a socially responsible member of the society. This paper provides an overview of digital literacy and its uses. Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Uwakwe C. ict tools and platforms have changed the way people communicate because through ict people can communicate even if they are far from each other. people do not need to wait how many days to receive the letter/message that their relatives send, but trough ict just a blink of an eye they can send a message directly. Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

2. Concepts
• Literacy is not only Reading and Writing, but
understanding.
• The use of technology nowadays is an importante part in people’s life, but
does everybody knows how to use it?
• Digital literacy is the ability to use different devices and gadgets to engage
in social activities;
• Digital literacy is not only about knowing how to use technology, but also
about having “a critical critical and confident use of Information Systems.”
(Mohammadyari, 2015)
3. Digital Literacy in Society
• There is a lot of interaction through social networking. It is really
important to be conected whether for a work activity or for a social
gathering;
• There are cultural rules to be followed, like not taking too long to
answer someone;
• People should consider what they are posting or sending, as well as
who is going to read it.
4. Digital Literacy in Society
• It is also important to understant that there are digital natives and
digital immigrants, because there are different approaches to
technology according to the generation:
5. Digital Literacy in Education
• Web tools can be used in educational contexts to engage students in
different activities, so they can use different ways to search, learn,
and communicate their experiences;
6. Digital Literacy in Education
• Students, especially young ones, are digital natives and usually are
multitask, which requires classes prepared for this;
• It is important for teachers to develop digital skills that allow them to
keep up with students – sometimes teachers are digital imiggrants,
and therefore have difficulties with technology;
7. 21st century skills
• Core competencies of digital literacy : internet searching, hypertext
navigation, knowledge assembly, and content evaluation (Koltay,
2011);
• Important abilities using web tools:
Search for information;
communicating;
creating content;
protecting contente and devices;
problem solving.
8. Global impact of digital literacies
• People consume information much faster and in a bigger amount and
it is important to have the ability to criticize and choose the
information offered on the Internet;
• Education can be a good way for people to get used to critical
thinking. Teachers can simply use digital tools or help students with
critical thinking about them.
9. Conclusions
• Understanding digital literacies is important to teachers, not only
because many students are digital natives, but because they need to
develop critical thinking about technology;
• It is important for digital immigrants to keep up with the new
Technologies, so they can communicate and engage social activities,
or even be a discussion facilitator.
