1. 1. CONCEPTS OF DIGITAL LITERACY
 Digital literacy is the ability to explore digital technologies:
 “having the knowledge and ability to use a range of technology tools for
varied purposes.” (New York Department of Education)
2. DIGITAL LITERACY IN SOCIETY
 Digital literacy is present in every part of the world societies:
 accessing public services
 online shopping
 using digital communications (social media)
3. DIGITAL LITERACY IN EDUCATION
 It is clear that students can access
more information and more easily,
but, digitally literate people are
those who “can use technology
strategically to find and evaluate
information, connect and collaborate
with others, produce and share
original content, and use the
Internet and technology tools to
achieve many academic,
professional, and personal goals.”

4. 21ST CENTURY SKILLS
 Digital literacy education also has to prepare for new challenges
 of the 21st century: the use of Social Web applications,
ecosystems of participation that enable collaborative knowledge
construction and creativity
5. GLOBAL IMPACT OF DIGITAL LITERACY
 Its inclusive aspect
allows a global integration
once whoever is literate
 The one who knows how
to use this tool in his
favor would have a
boundless world.
6. CONCLUSIONS
 In a world full of information, the challenge is know how to select
them in order to articulate a successful journey
