Every day I sit at lunch and watch person after person throw away perfectly good food. Even I am
guilty of throwing away food I did not want or food I was too full to possibly eat. Someone will take a

In Gerry Garibaldi s essay, How the Schools Shortchange the Boys, he argues that the feministic
learning of the public school systems detrimentally affects males learning because boys are often
identified as special ed and leave the classroom with only the resiliency of survival. However,
Garibaldi s arguments are biased, misguided, and fail to see how the application of the male nature can
be successful in a feministic learning style, so we should not agree with his claims. In order to
understand Garibaldis claims, what his version of feminist learning is must be explained. He spends
time discussing the current style of teaching, and then defines feminist learning as, the method [that]
addresses the need to teach all students in a classroom where academic abilities vary greatly where
there is heterogeneous grouping, to use the ed school jargon meaning kids with IQs of 55 sit side by
side with the gifted (537). He says this with as much negative tone as a person can fit in a sentence.
What part of that is feminist? Garibaldi describes a school environment that tries to relieve all

unevenly distributed and adequately produced to satisfy the needs of humanities growing population.
The hunger issue the planet is faced with can be resolved with the conservation of excess food, the
increased use of Genetically Modified Foods (GMFs) and the greater funding of global relief efforts.
As long as people have existed there has been a divide in wealth among them. Whether it is due to an
unavoidable greediness amongst them, or just high levels of apathy toward their own kind, some have
always suffered and others have prospered. There have always been efforts to alleviate this great
inequality among the masses, but few of these have yielded any notable results. A effort worth
