In The Most Sublime Spectacle On Earth, The Devil And Tom...
In the nineteenth century, growing industrialization led people to impersonal, greedy, and selfish lives.
As a reaction against this situation, romanticism emerged; this artistic movement offered people the
place away from the corrupted society. During this era, people favored untamed nature instead of
unscrupulous society. Upon a people s encounter with Romanticism, they enjoyed an enthusiastic
burst of feelings. This era is characterized by not only an outpouring of emotions but also themes of
imagination, fantasy, emotion, nature, superstition, individuality, mystery and the supernatural. Among
them, nature, imagination, and superstition theme were the most beloved theme during this period,
particularly demonstrated by give stories of The Most Sublime Spectacle on Earth, Nature, The Fall of
the House of Usher, and The Devil and Tom Walker.
Accordingly, the nature was one of the Romantic themes adored by numerous readers during this era.
The author s description of untamed environment and striking sight inspires and impresses the readers.
Soothing and relaxing people through these illustrations, author takes them away from the impersonal
society. For example, The Most Sublime Spectacle on Earth by John Wesley Powell vividly displays
the spectacular views of Grand Canyon to make readers forget the depraved reality. The carving of the
Grand Canyon is the work of rains and rivers, Powell stresses that Grand Canyon is the splendid work
of nature, not the artificial work of

My Ideal Grade Essay
 My ideal grade would be third grade. This is an interesting age because they are almost to fourth
grade where the read to learn comes in. I think it is important for students to get in all the different
ways of learning. I plan on giving the students time to work in groups or alone. I think it is important
they learn to work with others as well as alone. I plan on using a lot of brain breaks so the students
have time to get up and move around. I like to do things with physical movement too. This will give
the students something to go back to to remember things. An example is using movements while
learning the water cycle. When the students go back to try to remember it, they could imagine the
movements and that may help them remember. I want to give students as much choice as I can too. I
want to do this because it helps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am going to make sure there is only a handful of rules. It is important for students to not to have so
many rules they will not remember them. A few rules I may have is, raise your hand to ask a question
or no talking when the teacher is talking . I will make sure I have the consequences displayed around
the room too. They may be something like, First warning teacher talks to you about what happen.
Second warning note sent home/call home. Third warning principal s office. This will let the students
know exactly what is going to happen. I am going to have a reward system that is based on individual
bevaior. Each student will not be given points if they have the teacher talk to them throughout the day.
This will go with any of the warnings the teacher gives. The students will have a month to get a
certain amount of good days. After each month is over, the students will be given a prize that is
determined at the beginning of the month. For the students who may not be doing so well, I may have
a system that if you get so many good days you get a prize. This will help all the students

Essay about 1991 Apush Dbq
1991 DBQ In the aftermath of World War I, during the years 1917 1921, President Wilson advocated
the Treaty of Versailles, which called for the principle of self determination, the formation of a League
of Nations, and general amnesty towards Germany, as the solution for peace. However, his
unwillingness to compromise led to widespread disagreement. The opposition forces in the U.S.
senate consisted of the reservationists, who were willing to ratify the Treaty of Versailles with
amendments, and the irreconcilables, who refused to join the League of Nations under any
circumstances. If President Wilson was only willing to modify the language of the treaty, ratification
may have occurred. President Wilson s unwillingness to compromise ... Show more content on

H). These views all show the tremendous possibility the Treaty of Versailles had for ratification if only
President Wilson agreed to compromise. Finally, the irreconcilables were completely closed to the
possibility of a League of Nations, as seen in William Borah s speech in 1918, which harshly criticizes
and mocks the league with hypocritical antitheses like force to destroy force, conflict to prevent
conflict, militarism to destroy militarism, war to prevent war (Doc. A). The irreconcilable s point of
view is also illustrated by an image from the Tribune Media Services, which shows the U.S. Senate
suddenly objecting to the marriage of the U.S. to foreign entanglement by the League of Nations on
the basis of constitutional rights (Doc. E). According to the senate, the U.S. would be losing the right
to go to war along with collective security if they joined the League of Nations. The position of
European nations, specifically France and Britain, was of hostility towards Germany for the mass
casualties, causing an unwillingness to pardon them from the guilt clause. The Treaty of Versailles had
a great chance of being ratified if only President Wilson would have been able to make small
amendments. The reservationists had a strong argument about the pros of a League of Nations, but
they disagreed with Article 10, which gave the League s

Small Beginnings
I always heard growing up, Great things can emerge from small beginnings . My mom made sure that
my 4 sisters and I know that. Being a child of two ministers, my family has experience working with
small businesses and ministries, for our church was small. Unfortunately, things did not work for our
church, so we had shut down. My family then attended Family Christian Center (FCC) in Munster,
Indiana. FCC is a mega church with fancy lighting, a ginormous stage, and large screens. The pastor
of the church had great illustrated messages.
I attended Two52 Youth Culture, FCC s youth ministry. There I met Sade. Everyone enjoyed her
company she always had a positive attitude. She helped those dealing with depression, substance
abuse, dysfunctional households and financial hardships the same problems she went through as a
teen. She led youth meetings on Tuesdays in which anyone can learn theater and dance. We would
meet in a cafeteria and have a brief bible study accompanied with short skits, then followed by snacks
and practice. Sade also wanted us to show our talent beyond Two52, so she started a pop out team. We
visited malls and danced amid the crowds. Johnny, a teen guitarist serenaded strangers while the rest
of us pass out flyers.
Sade shared dream of owning a business. She wanted a center where teenagers learn all about the Arts.
She talked about having art classes, drum sessions, guitar lessons, photography, and of course, drama
and theater practice. Everyone

Personal Accomplishments Of A Varsity Soccer Team
Everyone has accomplishments, People experience them young, old and all inbetween. A main
accomplishment in my life has been starting for the varsity lacrosse team here at Clackamas High
School. Along with starting on my high school team, as a sophomore, I also was invited to play on
some of the best club teams in Oregon. During these experiences I have grown as a person, began
working harder, and learned you can t always control everything. With determination you can do
anything you set your mind to.
When I was younger, I played lacrosse on the Clackamas Youth Select team. The coach for that team
was the varsity high school coach. So i ve played a few years with him as my coach. I always worked
hard at practice and played 100 percent during my games, so when I graduated eighth grade, I
assumed that I would be on varsity as a freshman, but I was in for a surprise.
The weeks before the season officially started the coach got a bunch of the players together to start
training and getting ready. As a freshman, I didn t think that going to all of those training camps were
necessary. As all the other kids were at the camp getting ready and showing the coaches what they
could do, I was at all the basketball, volleyball and soccer games hanging out with my friends. Come
to find out, that s not how it works.
Luckily, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that I can t always control everything. Being knocked down through the seasons, I have less desire to
continue playing. Tough love would be an understatement on how some of the coaches have treated
fellow athletes and I. Never earning a nice work or good job begins to get frustrating and you get
harder on yourself as an athlete. These challenges have grown me as a person and taught me that I

Richard Wright
Literary Distinctions through Ineradicable Scars His racial status, his poverty, the disruption of his
family, and his faulty education allowed Richard Wright to grow into a novelist astonishingly different
than other major American writers. Richard Wright was born on a Rucker plantation in Adams County,
Mississippi. He was born on September 4, 1908 to Ella Wilson, a schoolteacher and Nathaniel Wright,
a sharecropper. When Wright was about six years old, his father abandoned Ella and his two sons in a
penniless condition to run off with another woman. This left Wright s mother the difficult task of
supporting herself and her children on her own, but left Wright with a humiliating kind of loss
(Duffus). Soon after his father left, Wright ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A long term irony of Wright s life is that in spite of his belief in environmental determinism, he
fulfilled his dream of success against all odds. In his essay How Bigger Was Born, Wright explains
how he grew up surrounded by different types of Biggers, and that social reality determined his
literary personality. (Applebee) Indeed, he was at different times in his youth an unstable child, but
ultimately he became Richard Wright, and not Bigger Thomas. Fear oppression and blindness Book
One (Fear) of Native Son begins with an alarm clock ringing. We see Bigger, Vera, Buddy, and Mrs.
Thomas in a small apartment in Chicago. Since the apartment only has one room, Bigger and Buddy
are forced to turn around to avoid seeing his little sister and his mother getting dressed. Perhaps, the
ringing alarm signifies a wakeup call, not only for Bigger, but for the readers and America as a whole
about race relations in this era. Immediately, we are exposed to the unfortunate circumstances Bigger s
family live in when a huge rat runs across the floor, and Bigger is destined to wrestle the rat. During
his struggle with the rat, Bigger smashes the rat s head with a skillet, and then smashes his face with a
shoe. The rat portrays fear book one is speaking about. The rat and Bigger immediately attack each
other, hinting that they resemble each other and they fear themselves. In Fear, we also meet Gus, Jack,

African Americans In John Dunbar s Dancing With Wolves
Many African Americans wanted to stand up for what was right for them as a human being, and be
treated just as equal to white people. In Dancing with Wolves John Dunbar was put to a station called
Fort Sedgwick. The Fort was on the Indians territory and John has never seen an Indian. He had heard
that they were savages, but instead of waiting for the Indians to find him John went out to find the
Indians. When John first met the Indians he didn t really know what to think. They kind of freaked
him out and wasn t sure if they would kill him. After the first time they met they met more times and
John would show them new things like coffee, food, and trying to speak English and the Indians
would do the same. After awhile John was close to the Indians and was always with them and they
gave him the name Dances with Wolves due to a wolf always by the Fort he was at. Before the 19th

FUBP1
FUBP1, also known as Far Upstream Element Binding Protein 1, is a tumor suppressor gene located
on the reverse strand of chromosome 1. The exact location of this gene is chr1:78,413,591 78,444,777.
FUBP1 is a protein encoded gene. This protein functions as an ATP dependent DNA helicase. It
regulates MYC expression by binding to a single stranded far upstream element upstream of the MYC
promoter. It binds to multiple DNA elements. It may act as both an activator and repressor of
transcription. [1] FUBP1 is a transcriptional regulator and fulfills an important function in the precise
control of c MYC transcription. The c MYC protein is a transcription factor, which regulates the

The diseases associated with FUBP1 include oligodendrogliomas, astrocytomas, and
oligoastrocytomas. Oligodendrogliomas are primary glial brain tumors and can be either low grade
(grade II) or high grade (grade III). [2] Since oligodendrogliomas have a slow growth rate, they are
often present for years before they are diagnosed. Nevertheless, the most common symptoms include:
seizures, headaches, and personality changes. Altogether, the symptoms vary by location and size of
the tumor. About 66 to 78 % of people with grade II oligodendroglioma survive for about 5 years after
diagnoses, while 30 to 38 % of people with grade III will survive for about 5 years after they are
diagnosed. [3] Astrocytoma is another type of brain cancer that stats in the cerebrum, which is the
largest part of the brain, but can also appear in the cerebellum, which is the back of the brain. It is
more common in men than in women. Like oligodendrogliomas, the most common symptoms of
astrocytomas include: headaches, seizure, changes in behavior and memory loss. [4] Prognosis of
astrocytomas depends on the type of astrocytoma. Altogether, a low grade astrocytoma (LGA) has an
83 % 10 year overall survival, while the overall survival rate of a high grade astrocytoma (HGA)
range between 15 20%. In both oligodendrogliomas and astrocytomas, the FUBP1 locus is mutated

The Swarm of Paparazzi
Paparazzi Paparazzi are people that celebrities are always swarmed by and they can become too
aggressive to get that one perfect picture, but why? Paparazzi are photographers that go far beyond
what may be appropriate to others to get these photos, whether it is crashing a formal party, following
celebrities in a car, or even breaking into the home of the celebrities. Paparazzi can get a large amount
of money for these photos that they sell to tabloids that want these sometimes embarrassing and cruel
photos. Paparazzi can become too close for comfort and they should have laws and restrictions on how
far they can go to get the latest pictures and news because the celebrities have no privacy and due to
the past events within society. The intention of the paparazzi is to take the best photo that will sell for
the greatest amount of money. However these ordinary people still have to abide by the laws that the
rest of the world lives by, but unfortunately they never seem to follow these crucial and necessary
restrictions. The people within society never thought that paparazzi could get this bad to the point in
which celebrities were pressing charge, getting into full scale brawls, and breaking laws. The
paparazzi of the past never thought that the present day paparazzi would be so vicious. The paparazzi
care about sales above and beyond all other considerations (Howe 17). This is far beyond a true

Of The Melting Point Of Benzoic Acid And Erlenmeyer Fask
Introduction Solid substances that contain impurities may be purified in a series of steps. The process
known as recrystallization allowed for purification to occur. The solubility and melting point of the
substances are accounted for certain substances to be dissolved in certain solvents. The melting point
is a certain temperature at which a given substance, in this case a solid, is melted. The melting point of
benzoic acid and naphthalene in this experiment are needed to understand at which temperature the
substances are purified. The melting points were denoted in ranges that explained at which points the
substance began to melt, and were completely melted. In relation, the melting points of certain
substances noted, aided in the selection of which solvents were used. The solvents used were selected
in terms that the substance completely will dissolve; however, the impurity is particularly insoluble to
that same solvent, for the pure crystals to be collected. Benzoic acid was dissolved in water, being the
solvent, because the solubility is higher at higher temperatures. The same goes for naphthalene being
dissolved in ethanol. These concepts allowed the process of recrystallization to occur if followed,
resulting in the products of purified crystals.
Experimental
Into a 25 ml Erlenmeyer flask was placed 1.0 grams of benzoic acid into 13.32 ml of boiling water at
250̊ C. Small portions of water were added until all the benzoic acid dissolved. After all the benzoic

Sustainability Is Not Green
What is sustainability? In contemporary design, sustainability is a furious warrior under a green coat.
People usually attribute sustainability with the color green, essence of nature or love and care for
mother earth. In the context of construction, this means placing plants in buildings, installing green
roofs and use local construction materials. Sustainability is much more than a green coat concept
draped over buildings. Sustainability is strong, a courageous idea that would change the future.
To sustain is to withstand and endure without giving away. A sustainable civilization should not empty
natural resources and endanger the environment. To sustain is ...to meet the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Preservation runs
parallel with the concept of sustainability. To sustain is to preserve the current. To Sustain is to discard
the idea of wastefulness. Concern about the environment and preservation of natural resource had
become a heated debate among citizens, designers, and politics. United States alone uses a significant
among of world s energy and produces a great amount of greenhouse gas. According to U.S.
Department of Energy s EIA for 2007, commercial and residential buildings consume about 40 percent
of the energy usage in the United States. Building constructions plays an important role in sustainable

Problems Faced By Forced Sterilization
It s an ordinary day, you wake up and glance out the window. The streets are gorged with the homeless
men, women and children. People are attempting to travel down the streets but are packed like
sardines. Multitude of criminals are infatuated with the never ending crimes that they re monstrous

They are potentially introducing them to the constant hopeless of what is to come. We as educated
people can no longer let this proceed. I propose we limit these conflicts by forced sterilization if you
do not have at least the average IQ score of 90. I think that it is agreed by everyone that the
uneducated minds of the world are drastically deteriorating. It s about time to make that change.
Therefore, I urge that once you reach the age of sixteen years, it is required that you must take an IQ

sterilized. There is 16.1 percent that lie at the lower average end of the Intelligence Quotients test,

The elephants once roamed around the continents of Africa and Asia in abundance. Growing numbers
of human population, environment and climate change has played vital role in the loss of their natural
habitat resulting in the decline of elephant population. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were
few million African elephants and over 100,000 Asian elephants. Today, their estimated numbers
range from 450,000 to 700,000 for African elephants and 35,000 to 40,000 for Asian elephants.
Like most animals, elephants also play significant role in the ecosystem. The elephants help maintain
suitable habitats for other species. They pull down trees, clear out heavy bushes, dig waterholes and
create openings in the dense forests. Several tree species rely entirely upon elephant droppings for
seed dispersal and germination. Elephants require larger habitats to maintain food supply that has
brought them in direct competition with human race for living space. The ever increasing human
population has pushed elephants into smaller areas, exposing them to human contact and hindering
their freedom to roam. When humans and elephants live close together, the herds of elephants crossing
can damage crops and villages. Such incidents lead to conflicts with humans in which elephants
constantly lose and are killed.
Hunting has been one of the most significant reasons of the population decline in

Social And Social Identity Theory
Originally proposed by Tajfel and Turner, the Social Identity Theory (SIT) can be described as the
comparison between the individual self and the social self. More specifically, it is the individual s
perception that is derived from their membership of a social group (ingroups and outgroups) or
personal identities. The theory is divided into three different psychological mechanisms: social
categorization, social comparison, and the tendency for people to use the group membership as a
source to gain self esteem. A theory is defined as a theory as long as it meets the two requirements:
describing behaviors and the ability to describe/see the future behaviors of individuals. Since the

exaggerate the similarities between the ingroups. The Social Identity Theory demonstrates reliability
in that it provides an explanation for intergroup behaviors such as stereotypes. The theory is
demonstrated within the study of Sherif et al (1954). The study was carried out in order to observe the
creation of groups, attitudes, and the norms of the groups through group activities. Sherif intended to
observe the reactions and attitudes between the individuals when there are two separate groups
(realistic conflict theory). The researchers had 22 boys with similar backgrounds and boys in the age
group of 11 12 years old. Boys were divided into two separate groups before the experiment began
and the researchers used single blind study in that the boys did not realize that they were participating
in an experiment; the boys were there to attend a summer camp. The two groups were divided and
each group participated in team bonding activities and the boys had created their distinctive identity as
members of the Eagles or members of the Rattlers. Researchers created a game in which only one
group benefited in order to create conflict between the two groups. Unlike the decent start in the
beginning, the members of each group portrayed

Personal Narrative-Sacrifice Attacks In The US
I barely recognize these fig strangled ruins. I used to come here as a kid. I mean, relations between the
two states wasn t cordial or anything, and there were violent incidents, and most of us stayed to
ourselves in our own little resorts, but in those days, the border was open and people could travel
freely between the two lands, with only a checkpoint or two between the traveler and a little bit of rest
and relaxation on the other side, if you know what I mean. Stuff that didn t really interest pre teen me.

Comparison Of Hektor And The Death Of Ravana

Different narrative styles make texts draw readers attention from different aspects
Being the oral texts, both The Death of Hektor and The Death of Ravana uses the repetitive phrases to
make people remember the stories easily; however, those two texts have distinct styles of narration. In
The Death of Hektor, the primary style of narration is dialogical. One of the advantages to insert
dialogue in text is to make the story more vivid and realistic than any others; for example, the
conversation between Achilleus and Hektor is like this
Achilleus, And it was I; and I have broken your strength; on you the dogs and the vultures shall feed
and foully rip you; the Achaians will bury Patroklos. (The Illiad, Book 2, line 334 335)
Hektor, I entreat you, by your life, by your knees, by your parents, do not let the dogs feed on me by
the ships of the Achaians. (The Illaid, Book 2, line 338 339) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In The Death of Ravana, the story focuses on the description of object an arrow. This style of narration
leaves more spaces to readers for their imagination; the elaborative description of the arrow, for
instance, blazing arrow which, as he did so, made a hissing sound like that of a snake (Ramayana,
Book 6, line 9 10), and its shaft was made of cosmic space; and the mountains Meru and Mandara lent
it their weight (Ramayana, Book 6, line 17 18). Those descriptions make readers feel like the arrow is
a treasure that displays in the museum; readers can think imaginatively about its history. To sum up,
the two distinct styles of narration give The Death of Hektor and The Death of Ravana different
advantages of attracting

Blindness And Socialism
Blindness
Blindness by Jose Saramago is a piece that shows many examples of political ideologies. The two
most prominent being conservatism and socialism. Now, Jose Saramago being a prominent believer in
the ideas of socialism as a whole, it is no surprise that his book Blindness includes many scenes that
portray, in favor, the fundamental concepts of socialist beliefs. This includes the variety of the people
who were blinded and the cooperation and organization of the main party involved. But, it is
interesting to point out that he also includes examples of the beliefs of conservatism but also scenes
where he criticizes it. This can be shown in scenes like when the food starts being stolen in quarantine
and in the rise in the leadership of the man with the gun.
A concept of socialism is that everyone should be equal and that there should be no class distinctions
based on ownership to promote an equal playing field for all members of society. We see this concept
in action when the wave of blindness affects people of all classes, from a ... Show more content on

Socialists believe that cooperation and groups are preferred over competition and individualism. This
cooperation results in strengthened bonds within the community and this is exactly what we see
throughout this book. An example would be the relationship between the members of the doctor s
ward. This can be seen in the decision of the women to comply with being used as payment in order to
get food. Even if they do not want to, they do it for the collective good. Not one of them stays behind,
and when they return they all shower together and this shows the growing bond between them.
Another example is when they escape the compound and decide to stick together because they realized
there is nothing left for them in their homes and that they are better off with each other. This
relationship goes to show the power they have as a group, and not acting

The morality of law and sentencing is questioned when one applies the free will problem. One may
inquire how can someone be responsible for outcomes if their actions are determined? This idea is
argued for clients by attorneys on various crimes committed ranging from murder to drug convictions.
We can read sociological and crime statistics to gain insight on what type of individuals is more likely
to commit certain unlawful acts. Those numerical calculations are derived from certain negative

and other forms like these are exercised in court cases as support for deterministic argument in favor

The Biblical Warning Of God
We all have that concept of evil. Each religion has that dark figure that beckons enticingly to pull us
from the path of whatever deity we ve devoted ourselves to. Lucifer for the Judeo Christians, Iblees
for the Muslims, Mara for the Buddhists; whatever one calls it, there is evil that looks to sway people
from their path of faith. So of course we as people, feel the need to set up defenses to prevent such a
thing. The biblical warning that Your adversary the Devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking
some one to devour (1 Peter 5:8) made the Devil an even more horrifying. (The Horrors of Witchcraft

whether we resist or not. No matter how different we are from each other, Demonic Possession is
something that all cultures seem to have, with their own remedies to the issue. The concept of
demonic possession is something that s existed for an unclear amount of time. The Bible alludes to
many instances of demons being driven out of people and the Qur an tells of Jinns inhabiting the

I establish that Adele had the platform to make this speech because she was given the power to do so.
The Academy awards handed this power to her literally in the form of an award and in turn, the
Grammy awards exposed the underlying racial problems they have been hounded about for years. It is
worth noting that mainstream categories like the Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of
the Year , Adele was nominated for are considered to be white privileged while other categories like
Best R n b and Best Urban contemporary album are considered to be black . These awards meant to
celebrate artists have become boxes in the forms of categories designed to zone artists based on race.
This play of power in the form of white privilege and its use to box black artists will be best
understood from a historical and relatable perspective. The New york Times offers an informatory
perspective from which we can understand how the Grammys conceptually segregate artists. Then, the
pattern of conceptual segregation will exposed by examining racial zoning in early urban planning
movements and its relation to conceptual segregation. Most importantly, Adele s speech provides a
primary and individual vantage point to understand conceptual segregation in its basic

The Road Monologue
Every fool and child knows that crossroads are magical places. Places where one might encounter
things not easily found elsewhere. Where the desperate might cut a deal with a demon, and where the
world weary might find themselves crossing into another place or time. Every fool and child knows
these things, but sometimes the wise forget them.
The crossroads in question did not look like a crossroads to most who saw it. It looked like a simple
dirt path, bisecting a field full of long grass that waved in the wind, the Earth s flowing green hair. On
the path, at a seemingly random spot, there was a little town. But the townspeople could see the other
half of the crossroads, as could the few who traveled upon it.
The dirt path led from nowhere to nowhere, and the other road, which was made of something far less
substantial than earth, led to just about any destination one could think of. And an inn had sprung up
where the two roads met, as inns are wont to do. Later, a little town had built itself around the inn. The
town was just like any other town, and the inn like any other. Horses brayed in their stables. Fields of
crops grew. But if you were observant, and you walked along the wheat, you would notice something
strange about it. It was. . . Wispy, almost. Shimmering. Almost like it was not quite real enough, or
perhaps a bit too real. And if one walked through the horses stables, or among the cows in the field,
one would see a fierce, wild intelligence in the animals eyes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Homeschooled children have the advantage to learn through playing because unlike public and private
school children, homeschooled children spend less time working on homework. According to the
Institute of Education Sciences, 40.1% of first graders spend three to four days a week and 37.9%
spend five or more days a week on homework. In addition, third graders are reported that 40.7% spend

about studying after school hours unless instructed to (United States Dept. of Education). There are
reasons why children have the disadvantage of learning in public and private schools besides the large

The Ballistic Missile Submarine
As one of the most powerful nations in the world The United States must protect its borders and
interest more than most countries. With the threat of nuclear war lingering in our domain, the United
States counters this spreading issue with the ballistic missile submarine to provide strategic
deterrence. Ballistic missile submarines have been important to the United States and Russia, as well
as other nuclear powers, since the beginning of the Cold War. Ballistic missile submarines can evade
satellites and discharge their nuclear munitions with little interference. This allows them to be
protected from a first strike directed against nuclear forces, permitting each side to maintain the
capability to launch an overwhelming retaliatory assault, even if all surface based missiles have been
obliterated. Furthermore, the deployment of extremely accurate missiles on quieter submarines
permits an attacker to advance closer to an adversary s coast and launch its missiles.
The ballistic missile submarine is the corner stone of the United States nuclear triad. It is also the only
survivable portion of the triad due to the ballistic missile submarines ever changing locations and
patrols. Much is classified about this stealthy monolith s technology and operating procedure. But its
development from the USS Nautilus to modern day Ohio Class ballistic missile submarine is well

Essay about History of Nature and Nurture
Abstract Nature vs. nurture has been discussed by philosophers in the past and by scientists most
recently. Philosophers such as Plato argued that all knowledge was inherited through your parent and
when you were told something you didn t learn it you were just reminded of it. Aristotle however
argued that all humans were born with a blank slate and built on it with influence from there
environment. In the 1700 s the empiricists and the internalists took over the argument. They fought
through letters explaining there point of views and denouncing the others. This leads to Pavlov
coming up with the idea of behaviorism in the early 1900‘s. Behaviorism became the new wave of

Two philosophers, G.W. Leibniz and John Locke, were main representatives of their respected
explanations. Leibniz promoted the internalism point of view. Cowie states, ...Leibniz s position on
this issue is, of course, that the tabula is far from rasa: ‘The soul inherently contains the sources of
various notions and doctrines, which external objects merely rouse up... (Cowie, 1999, p. 7). Leibniz
argued against Locke and other empiricists stated that ...there is no way ideas which come into the
mind from outside can be formed into beliefs and judgments without the operation of specific internal
mechanisms (Cowie, 1999, p. 17). At the same time, John Locke and his fellow philosophers
campaigned for empiricism. Like Aristotle, the philosophers believed that humans thoughts and
actions were determined not by innate factors, but by the their unique experiences (Ashcraft, 1998).
Locke argued against the internalists by examining different human processes such as logic and
reasoning. He would ask how it was possible to use logic and reasoning if people were born with all of
the knowledge they would ever acquire (Cowie 1999, p. 19). The contrasting views of the two groups
had begun the nature vs. nurture debate, which would linger in the fields of philosophy and
psychology for decades. A point should be made that even though the interalists and empiricists felt
strongly about their theories, the

Where do you get your best ideas? Have you had those lightning fast moments of brilliance that come

my best ideas in the shower. The white noise of the water is an excellent conduit to amplifying my
creative thoughts. Recently they have been happening often and I write them down in a hurry so when
I am ready to take action they are there to expand upon.
These thoughts come from my own intuitive guidance to the next step in my life. Water is free flowing

energy as well. I have learned a lot about energy in the past 2 1/2 years as I have become fascinated

Descriptive Essay About My Room
Right now, my room is very childish. The colors in my room are very vibrant. My walls are a bright
blue and the shelves in my room are orange, pink and neon green. My comforter has all of those colors
in a straight line pattern. It helps to connect my entire room together, but it is time for a makeover. The
only thing staying the same in my room are the closets because they are a great storage area. Since the
closets are added on to the shape of the room, they do not take away from the space. I want my room
to be a place that is relaxed and comfy, but also a place where my friends and I can hang out. To
complete this goal, I am using a grey color on my walls to create a relaxed feeling. I am making my
room feel more grown up with a more neutral look and a bedspread as my accent.

placed objects in my room, so there are not too many pieces in one area. I also made sure there were
enough things in my room so it did not have an empty feeling.

The Theory Of Knowledge And Power
INTRODUCTION Post Foucauldian theory of knowledge and power, knowledge has been used as a
synonym for power. In 21st century they are considered as two sides of the same coin. Power gives an
individual the ability to make others obey in a social relationship irrespective of the basis. As per
Foucault power is not only brutal physical force rather an invisible form of network that operates. At
times, the operator has no knowledge of this invisible power which controls others. Similarly,
knowledge is defined as a belief of an individual or society which is right and justified with a logical
explanation. Thus, the assumption that is not true can t be quantified as a knowledge. Belief that is
true doesn t qualify as knowledge. It must be explained in order to be called as knowledge. How the
belief is justified has been debated over 2000 years by different scholars, radical writers and
philosophers and yet to receive a consensus. The relationship between knowledge and power was
established by Michael Foucault in a more explorative way as compared to his previous counterparts.
According to him knowledge and power both shares a healthy relationship in a continuous manner. As
per Foucault s theory power develops through feed of knowledge and in turn power generates
knowledge. This method based upon assumption knowledge changes with time. For example new
discourse leads to new knowledge (Ball, 2013). Thus, a society that has gained power through
knowledge has the power to direct

Economic Factors in Unification of German People in the 19th Century
There is little debate about the factors concerned in nineteenth century German unification, the
argument commences when the most important is put to question. To find the most important we must
surely look to the primary factors, the instigating forces, or seeds if you will, that are required for the
formation of a Nation State. The great Bismarck was a leader that undoubtedly showed much initiative
and many would attribute the unification of the German speakers to his efforts, but the economic
necessaries came long before the man who used them. When the various factors are combined

The land given to Prussia contained large coal and iron mineral deposits and were welcomed for their
advantageous, monetary and military value. Industry grew rapidly from the mineral deposit regions
like the Saar and Ruhr valleys and eventually 80% of the total iron and coal production, in the
zollverien states, was Prussian.
Two primary and almost parallel economic developments enabled the growth and stability of the
German speaking states and one significant development was the formation of a customs union in
1834. With Prussian lands distributed in different areas on the European map due to the Vienna
congress, the commencement of the zollverien was of enormous importance and as we can see in the
following description it was one, not only of liberated trade, but of national identity:
On all the highways of Central Germany heavily laden wagons surrounded by noisy and merry crowds
waited in long queues at the customs houses. With the clock s final stroke of the old year the turnpikes
rose: accompanied by cheers and the crack of whips the horses pulled ahead into the liberated land [3]
Before the improved zollverien the German speaking states had a pretty stagnant, although self
sufficient economy and controlled their own borders, tolls and currency. The dropping of the trade
tariffs and

Communication Patterns of Children During Conflict Essay...
As we grow up, we are socialized into the proper norms to be successful in society. The socialization
process starts right from birth. Babies observe and try to mimic their parents and eventually their
siblings or peers. Conflict is a part of life that children need to use to develop skills on resolving
disagreements; conflict is not always bad. Peer conflict, however, can lead to aggressive behavior
because of significant emotional and physical harm. Many youth lack the social skills needed to
handle their aggravation.
Peer conflict communicates joint disagreement or aggression between peers or peer groups. Peer
conflict is characterized as conflict between people of equal or similar power also known as friends.

Adults mediate children s interaction and in doing so adults need to learn the necessary tools to
helping our children handle conflict. In school and at home, it is important to help develop social
skills. Skills such as building friendships, emotional regulation, problem solving, and being supportive
are best learned at an elementary school age. Children are taught what is socially acceptable through
reward and consequence. Once children reach adolescents age, it is best to teach conflict resolution
techniques. By implementing peer mediation, the children learn how to recognize a conflict and learn
how to resolve a conflict on their own. At the middle and high school age level, it is also important to
practice respectful and positive behaviors. At this age adolescents are going through hormonal
changes and if adults focus on practicing positive respectful behaviors the habits will form and the
child will have the natural skills to interact at an adult level.
Focusing on the individual, factors of peer conflict like problem solving, self regulation, and language
are linked with youth who engage in aggressive behaviors toward their peers. The International
Journal of Language Communication Disorders, Interaction Before Conflict and Conflict Resolution
in Pre School Boys with Language Impairment, addresses the factors associated with peer conflict.
The authors of this article explain that children with language

Compare And Contrast Essay On The Hobbit
The Hobbit was a novel which revolved around the Lord of the Rings trilogy. J. R. R. Tolkien wrote
this book as an aid to his PTSD. This novel was loosely based on the Medieval Times, from the Anglo
Saxon and Scandinavian works. The narrative followed around a group of people on a quest to take
the treasure of Smaug. There are many important components of each story. These include its plot,
themes, or setting. In this essay, I will be explaining the similarities and differences between the three
races of The Hobbit. The first topic of discussion will be the comparison of the race s physical traits.
These physical traits allow a reader to visualize characters. It also gives the reader to make their own
judgements of a race based on appearance. In the terms of height, the hobbits and dwarves are shorter
than an average human. The hobbits ... wear no shoes... thick warm brown hair like the stuff on their
heads... (2, Ch. 1) This race also loves peace, quiet, and a good tilled earth. The dwarves, however, are
stocky and tough. An average dwarf grows a long bread on their faces and wear heavy cloaks.
Verification for this account is, It was a dwarf with a blue beard tucked into a golden belt, very bright
eyes under his dark green hood. (7, Ch. 1). They are very strong from their continuous work in the
mines. Dwarves worked in mines and caverns to acquire the many gems needed for their crafting. The
dwarves also had experience in fighting wars with other races. Elves are a

General Circulation
General Circulation
Warm air rises and cool air sinks, or subsides. If the Earth had no continents and did not turn, then the
circulation of the atmosphere would appear much like this.
[pic] http://maritime.haifa.ac.il/departm/lessons/ocean/lect14.htm The air at the Equator would be
heated by the warm Earth and so rise, flow toward the poles where it is cooled by the cold Earth,
subside at the North Pole and South Pole, and then flow back to the Equator along the surface of the
Earth.
But the Earth does have continents and it does spin on its axis, so the General Circulation of the
atmosphere actually looks more like the images on the next page. These are sometimes referred to as
the three cell general circulation model. Air ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The winds in this region are called the tropical easterlies. In the Northern Hemisphere, these are called
the Northeast Trade Winds, and in the Southern Hemisphere, they are called the Southeast Trade
Winds. A band of generally high pressure near 30( North and South of the Equator is called the
Subtropical High.
The band of high pressure near 30( latitude is also called the Horse Latitudes. The name Horse
Latitudes is thought to have originated in the seventeenth century, when sailing ships were carrying
cargos of horses to the West Indies. With high pressure and good weather, the ships could be stranded
for days or weeks without winds to propel them toward their destination. Horses died for lack of food
and water waiting for winds to move the ships.
The middle latitude prevailing westerly cells are called the Ferrel Cell. It is named after William
Ferrel, and American scientist who published his Essay on the Winds and Currents of the Ocean in
1856. In this essay and later papers, he showed by rigorous mathematics that winds are affected by the
rotation of the Earth.
The cells near the North Pole and South Pole, in which the winds are mostly from the east, are called
the Polar Cell. The winds are called the polar easterlies. A band of generally low pressure between the
Ferrel Cell and the Polar Cell in the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere is

The Field Of Cosmetics And The Treatment Of Injuries,...
Today, the field of cosmetics and the treatment of injuries, skin, and hair ailments have gained the
attention of doctors all over the world. While multiple treatment methods have been examined,
preference remains for the safest and the most effective method. Recently, treatment with PRP has
been established as an effective medical treatment in many fields, such as oral surgery, neurosurgery,
cosmetic surgery, sports medicine, and orthopedics. Platelets are one of the essential components
found in blood, known best for their importance in coagulation. They contain proteins known as
growth factors that play an essential role in healing damaged tissue (Lubkowska et al., 2012). The
normal range of platelets in healthy human blood ranges from ... Show more content on

Despite these variations, all protocols follow the same sequence: blood sample collection, a soft spin
for separating blood components, followed by a hard spin for concentrating the platelets, in the
presence or absence of anticoagulants, and growth factor activators.
Kececi, Ozsu, and Bilgir (2014) examined the effect of the number of spins on the platelet recovery
during centrifugation. Both single and double centrifugation methods were used to prepare the PRP.
Two sets of blood samples were drawn from 10 adult New Zealand rabbits. The blood samples were
added into 10% sodium citrate and centrifuged; The first group was single centrifuged at 160 G for 6
minutes at room temperature, while the second group was double centrifuged, the first spin was at 160
G for 20 minutes at room temperature, followed by the second spin at 400 G for 15 minutes. Average
platelet amount collected from the second group (1,986,875 ± 685,020/μl) was greater than the first
group (781,875 ± 217,693/μl). According to Amable et al. (2013) different centrifugal forces have
been applied to obtain pure PRP from the blood samples obtained of healthy donors (4.5 ml of WB),
using a refrigerated high speed centrifuge, with speeds reaching up to 30,000 rpm (rotation per
minute). Since the lower centrifugal force (less than 300 x g) did not release a sufficient amount of
PRP, 300 × g for 5 minutes at 18°C

falls off a cliff into a pool of water, face first.
When Katsa fishes him out, she and Bitterblue dress the wound in his shoulder, slump him over a
horse, and set out for the king was not dead and the only one who could kill him was knocked out.
Po insists that they leave him behind to save the child because he was slowing them down. Sad as
Katsa was, they left him in a cabin and set off for Po s castle on the other side of the Seven Kingdoms
in Lienid, an island to the southwest. Katsa supposes that Leck s men will be at the mountain pass, and
Monport by the sea.
She decides to take the suicidal path through the mountains and the two end up in Sunder where they
head to the water to take a boat to Lienid. Disguising themselves as boys, they attempt to board a
Lienid ship where they pay a boy for passage.
He accuses them of stealing and takes them to Captain Faun for approval. The lady captain shortly
realizes that the two boys were not in fact boys. When Katsa shows them Po s ring and says he gave it
her, they were not so easily convinced but soon realized it to be the truth. Because of her possession of
the royal ring, they agree to travel to Lienid.
When they arrive at Lienid, Katsa and Bitterblue head for Po s castle.
Once inside, a steward says that his master as recently arrived, assuming that he meant Po, they were
astonished. But,

  • 4. Essay about 1991 Apush Dbq 1991 DBQ In the aftermath of World War I, during the years 1917 1921, President Wilson advocated the Treaty of Versailles, which called for the principle of self determination, the formation of a League of Nations, and general amnesty towards Germany, as the solution for peace. However, his unwillingness to compromise led to widespread disagreement. The opposition forces in the U.S. senate consisted of the reservationists, who were willing to ratify the Treaty of Versailles with amendments, and the irreconcilables, who refused to join the League of Nations under any circumstances. If President Wilson was only willing to modify the language of the treaty, ratification may have occurred. President Wilson s unwillingness to compromise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... H). These views all show the tremendous possibility the Treaty of Versailles had for ratification if only President Wilson agreed to compromise. Finally, the irreconcilables were completely closed to the possibility of a League of Nations, as seen in William Borah s speech in 1918, which harshly criticizes and mocks the league with hypocritical antitheses like force to destroy force, conflict to prevent conflict, militarism to destroy militarism, war to prevent war (Doc. A). The irreconcilable s point of view is also illustrated by an image from the Tribune Media Services, which shows the U.S. Senate suddenly objecting to the marriage of the U.S. to foreign entanglement by the League of Nations on the basis of constitutional rights (Doc. E). According to the senate, the U.S. would be losing the right to go to war along with collective security if they joined the League of Nations. The position of European nations, specifically France and Britain, was of hostility towards Germany for the mass casualties, causing an unwillingness to pardon them from the guilt clause. The Treaty of Versailles had a great chance of being ratified if only President Wilson would have been able to make small amendments. The reservationists had a strong argument about the pros of a League of Nations, but they disagreed with Article 10, which gave the League s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Richard Wright Literary Distinctions through Ineradicable Scars His racial status, his poverty, the disruption of his family, and his faulty education allowed Richard Wright to grow into a novelist astonishingly different than other major American writers. Richard Wright was born on a Rucker plantation in Adams County, Mississippi. He was born on September 4, 1908 to Ella Wilson, a schoolteacher and Nathaniel Wright, a sharecropper. When Wright was about six years old, his father abandoned Ella and his two sons in a penniless condition to run off with another woman. This left Wright s mother the difficult task of supporting herself and her children on her own, but left Wright with a humiliating kind of loss (Duffus). Soon after his father left, Wright ... (Applebee) Indeed, he was at different times in his youth an unstable child, but ultimately he became Richard Wright, and not Bigger Thomas. Oligodendrogliomas are primary glial brain tumors and can be either low grade (grade II) or high grade (grade III). [2] Since oligodendrogliomas have a slow growth rate, they are often present for years before they are diagnosed. Nevertheless, the most common symptoms include: seizures, headaches, and personality changes. Altogether, the symptoms vary by location and size of the tumor. About 66 to 78 % of people with grade II oligodendroglioma survive for about 5 years after diagnoses, while 30 to 38 % of people with grade III will survive for about 5 years after they are diagnosed. Paparazzi are photographers that go far beyond what may be appropriate to others to get these photos, whether it is crashing a formal party, following celebrities in a car, or even breaking into the home of the celebrities. Paparazzi can get a large amount of money for these photos that they sell to tabloids that want these sometimes embarrassing and cruel photos. • 15. Of The Melting Point Of Benzoic Acid And Erlenmeyer Fask Introduction Solid substances that contain impurities may be purified in a series of steps. The process known as recrystallization allowed for purification to occur. The solubility and melting point of the substances are accounted for certain substances to be dissolved in certain solvents. The melting point is a certain temperature at which a given substance, in this case a solid, is melted. The melting point of benzoic acid and naphthalene in this experiment are needed to understand at which temperature the substances are purified. The melting points were denoted in ranges that explained at which points the substance began to melt, and were completely melted. In relation, the melting points of certain substances noted, aided in the selection of which solvents were used. The solvents used were selected in terms that the substance completely will dissolve; however, the impurity is particularly insoluble to that same solvent, for the pure crystals to be collected. Benzoic acid was dissolved in water, being the solvent, because the solubility is higher at higher temperatures. The same goes for naphthalene being dissolved in ethanol. These concepts allowed the process of recrystallization to occur if followed, resulting in the products of purified crystals. People usually attribute sustainability with the color green, essence of nature or love and care for mother earth. In the context of construction, this means placing plants in buildings, installing green roofs and use local construction materials. Sustainability is much more than a green coat concept draped over buildings. Sustainability is strong, a courageous idea that would change the future. To sustain is to withstand and endure without giving away. A sustainable civilization should not empty natural resources and endanger the environment. To sustain is ...to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Preservation runs parallel with the concept of sustainability. To sustain is to preserve the current. To Sustain is to discard the idea of wastefulness. Concern about the environment and preservation of natural resource had become a heated debate among citizens, designers, and politics. United States alone uses a significant among of world s energy and produces a great amount of greenhouse gas. Men and women are reproducing offspring without even thinking about what they are doing by bringing a human being into the world. They are potentially introducing them to the constant hopeless of what is to come. We as educated people can no longer let this proceed. I propose we limit these conflicts by forced sterilization if you do not have at least the average IQ score of 90. If you do not reach the proceeding cut off score, you have no other choice than to become sterilized. Satao was famous for its huge tusks that reached down to the ground. The carcass of 45 year old elephant with its face mutilated and great tusks hacked off was left for vultures and scavengers. Poachers had killed Satao with poisoned arrows for the ivory that weighed over 100 pounds. According to the data provided by Landmark Analysis, poachers seeking ivory had killed more than 100,000 African elephants in just three years. Growing numbers of human population, environment and climate change has played vital role in the loss of their natural habitat resulting in the decline of elephant population. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were few million African elephants and over 100,000 Asian elephants. Today, their estimated numbers range from 450,000 to 700,000 for African elephants and 35,000 to 40,000 for Asian elephants. Like most animals, elephants also play significant role in the ecosystem. The elephants help maintain suitable habitats for other species. They pull down trees, clear out heavy bushes, dig waterholes and create openings in the dense forests. Several tree species rely entirely upon elephant droppings for seed dispersal and germination. Elephants require larger habitats to maintain food supply that has brought them in direct competition with human race for living space. The ever increasing human population has pushed elephants into smaller areas, exposing them to human contact and hindering their freedom to roam. When humans and elephants live close together, the herds of elephants crossing can damage crops and villages. Such incidents lead to conflicts with humans in which elephants constantly lose and are killed. Hunting has been one of the most significant reasons of the population decline in ... • 19. Social And Social Identity Theory Originally proposed by Tajfel and Turner, the Social Identity Theory (SIT) can be described as the comparison between the individual self and the social self. More specifically, it is the individual s perception that is derived from their membership of a social group (ingroups and outgroups) or personal identities. The theory is divided into three different psychological mechanisms: social categorization, social comparison, and the tendency for people to use the group membership as a source to gain self esteem. A theory is defined as a theory as long as it meets the two requirements: describing behaviors and the ability to describe/see the future behaviors of individuals. Individuals tend to over exaggerate the differences between the outgroups and outgroups, while they exaggerate the similarities between the ingroups. The Social Identity Theory demonstrates reliability in that it provides an explanation for intergroup behaviors such as stereotypes. The theory is demonstrated within the study of Sherif et al (1954). The study was carried out in order to observe the creation of groups, attitudes, and the norms of the groups through group activities. Sherif intended to observe the reactions and attitudes between the individuals when there are two separate groups (realistic conflict theory). The researchers had 22 boys with similar backgrounds and boys in the age group of 11 12 years old. Boys were divided into two separate groups before the experiment began and the researchers used single blind study in that the boys did not realize that they were participating in an experiment; the boys were there to attend a summer camp. The two groups were divided and each group participated in team bonding activities and the boys had created their distinctive identity as members of the Eagles or members of the Rattlers. Researchers created a game in which only one group benefited in order to create conflict between the two groups. Unlike the decent start in the beginning, the members of each group portrayed ... Now, Jose Saramago being a prominent believer in the ideas of socialism as a whole, it is no surprise that his book Blindness includes many scenes that portray, in favor, the fundamental concepts of socialist beliefs. This includes the variety of the people who were blinded and the cooperation and organization of the main party involved. But the townspeople could see the other half of the crossroads, as could the few who traveled upon it. The dirt path led from nowhere to nowhere, and the other road, which was made of something far less substantial than earth, led to just about any destination one could think of. • 35. The Theory Of Knowledge And Power INTRODUCTION Post Foucauldian theory of knowledge and power, knowledge has been used as a synonym for power. In 21st century they are considered as two sides of the same coin. Power gives an individual the ability to make others obey in a social relationship irrespective of the basis. As per Foucault power is not only brutal physical force rather an invisible form of network that operates. At times, the operator has no knowledge of this invisible power which controls others. Similarly, knowledge is defined as a belief of an individual or society which is right and justified with a logical explanation. Thus, the assumption that is not true can t be quantified as a knowledge. Belief that is true doesn t qualify as knowledge. It must be explained in order to be called as knowledge. How the belief is justified has been debated over 2000 years by different scholars, radical writers and philosophers and yet to receive a consensus. The relationship between knowledge and power was established by Michael Foucault in a more explorative way as compared to his previous counterparts. According to him knowledge and power both shares a healthy relationship in a continuous manner. As per Foucault s theory power develops through feed of knowledge and in turn power generates knowledge. This method based upon assumption knowledge changes with time. For example new discourse leads to new knowledge (Ball, 2013). Thus, a society that has gained power through knowledge has the power to direct ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The socialization process starts right from birth. Babies observe and try to mimic their parents and eventually their siblings or peers. Conflict is a part of life that children need to use to develop skills on resolving disagreements; conflict is not always bad. In school and at home, it is important to help develop social skills. Skills such as building friendships, emotional regulation, problem solving, and being supportive are best learned at an elementary school age. Children are taught what is socially acceptable through reward and consequence. Once children reach adolescents age, it is best to teach conflict resolution techniques. By implementing peer mediation, the children learn how to recognize a conflict and learn how to resolve a conflict on their own. This novel was loosely based on the Medieval Times, from the Anglo Saxon and Scandinavian works. The narrative followed around a group of people on a quest to take the treasure of Smaug. There are many important components of each story. These include its plot, themes, or setting. In this essay, I will be explaining the similarities and differences between the three races of The Hobbit. The first topic of discussion will be the comparison of the race s physical traits. These physical traits allow a reader to visualize characters. It also gives the reader to make their own judgements of a race based on appearance. In the terms of height, the hobbits and dwarves are shorter than an average human. The hobbits ... wear no shoes... thick warm brown hair like the stuff on their heads... • 40. General Circulation General Circulation Warm air rises and cool air sinks, or subsides. If the Earth had no continents and did not turn, then the circulation of the atmosphere would appear much like this. [pic] http://maritime.haifa.ac.il/departm/lessons/ocean/lect14.htm The air at the Equator would be heated by the warm Earth and so rise, flow toward the poles where it is cooled by the cold Earth, subside at the North Pole and South Pole, and then flow back to the Equator along the surface of the Earth. But the Earth does have continents and it does spin on its axis, so the General Circulation of the atmosphere actually looks more like the images on the next page. The name Horse Latitudes is thought to have originated in the seventeenth century, when sailing ships were carrying cargos of horses to the West Indies. With high pressure and good weather, the ships could be stranded for days or weeks without winds to propel them toward their destination. Horses died for lack of food and water waiting for winds to move the ships. The middle latitude prevailing westerly cells are called the Ferrel Cell. It is named after William Ferrel, and American scientist who published his Essay on the Winds and Currents of the Ocean in 1856. In this essay and later papers, he showed by rigorous mathematics that winds are affected by the rotation of the Earth. Today, the field of cosmetics and the treatment of injuries, skin, and hair ailments have gained the attention of doctors all over the world. While multiple treatment methods have been examined, preference remains for the safest and the most effective method. Recently, treatment with PRP has been established as an effective medical treatment in many fields, such as oral surgery, neurosurgery, cosmetic surgery, sports medicine, and orthopedics. Platelets are one of the essential components found in blood, known best for their importance in coagulation. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite these variations, all protocols follow the same sequence: blood sample collection, a soft spin for separating blood components, followed by a hard spin for concentrating the platelets, in the presence or absence of anticoagulants, and growth factor activators. Kececi, Ozsu, and Bilgir (2014) examined the effect of the number of spins on the platelet recovery during centrifugation. Both single and double centrifugation methods were used to prepare the PRP. Two sets of blood samples were drawn from 10 adult New Zealand rabbits. The blood samples were added into 10% sodium citrate and centrifuged; The first group was single centrifuged at 160 G for 6 minutes at room temperature, while the second group was double centrifuged, the first spin was at 160 G for 20 minutes at room temperature, followed by the second spin at 400 G for 15 minutes. Average platelet amount collected from the second group (1,986,875 ± 685,020/μl) was greater than the first group (781,875 ± 217,693/μl). According to Amable et al. (2013) different centrifugal forces have been applied to obtain pure PRP from the blood samples obtained of healthy donors (4.5 ml of WB), using a refrigerated high speed centrifuge, with speeds reaching up to 30,000 rpm (rotation per minute). Since the lower centrifugal force (less than 300 x g) did not release a sufficient amount of PRP, 300 × g for 5 minutes at 18°C ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
