9. Peer reviewed journals contain articles reviewed by experts in the field before they are accepted for
publication. Avoid newspapers, magazines and non peer reviewed journals unless your subject area
requires it; e.g. media studies, journalism, performance art. However, even here, while current
information and trends might be culled from these sources, search peer reviewed journals for in depth
studies and explorations.

The Serial Killer Albert Fish

Abstract
Hamilton (Albert) Fish (1870 1936) was an American serial killer, child rapist, and cannibal. He was
known as the gray man, the werewolf of wisteria, the Brooklyn vampire, the moon maniac, and the
boogey man. Albert (born Hamilton) Fish came from a family seemingly stricken by mental illness,
with six close relative in mental hospitals. At the age nine his father died, and Fish was sent to an
orphanage. At that point Fish experienced bullying, and whippings from caretakers. It wasn t until
three years later that his mother took on a government job and was able to take him back. He began a
relationship with another boy, where he was introduced to urine drinking and feces eating. In 1890 he
moved to New York, where he became a prostitute and began raping young boys. At some point he
became interested in penises themselves and began sexual mutilations. In 1917 Fish s wife ... Show

In 1910 Albert met a man named Thomas Kedden, whom he began a sadomasochistic relationship.
Fish implied the man was mentally disabled. Ultimately, Kedden was taken by Fish to an abandoned
farmhouse, where Fish began a two week process of torturing him, eventually cutting off half the man
s penis and killing him. Afraid of somebody smelling it, if he took the body with him, cut into pieces.
In 1917 Fish s wife left him for a young handyman, taking nearly everything they owned, except for
their six children. Soon after Fish began having auditory hallucinations. At this time Fish began asking
his children and their friends to use a board to spank him, along with self harming himself using
needles, planting them in his abdomen and groin. After his death, needles were found in his pelvic and
groin region by

Narrative intelligent leaders are significant to organizations, as they lead by storytelling, they are
simultaneously influencing others through trust and communication. The purpose of this

Chancellor of Germany, ultimately inspires her followers. First, it will provide insight by outlining her
narrative approach based on her speeches, presentations, and podcasts in addition to, the literature
available in narrative communication and leadership. Next, it will delineate the strengths of her
communication style thus enhancing her narrative method. Then, the focus will shift to bring attention

Saint Augustine, one of the best scholars of the early church, portrayed the Trinity as practically
identical to the three sections of an individual: personality, soul, and will. They are three unmistakable
viewpoints, yet they are conjoined and together constitute one bound together individual. The purpose
of this research paper is to further emphasize, highlight, and defend St. Augustine s conclusion that the
Holy Trinity is one God existing in three persons according to the meeting at the Council of Nicea
325.
In 325, the Council of Nicea set out to formally characterize the relationship of the Son to the Father,
in light of the dubious lessons of Arius. Driven by Bishop Athanasius, the gathering confirmed the
precept of the Trinity as conventionality and censured Arius showing that Christ was the first making
of God. The ideology received by the committee depicted Christ as God of God, Light of Light, very
God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance (homoousios) with the Father.
The Council of Nicea occurred by request of the Roman Emperor Caesar Flavius Constantine. Nicea
was situated in Asia Minor, east of Constantinople. At the Council of Nicea, Emperor Constantine

The Clinical Picture of Acute Pulmonary Embolism
Introduction The clinical picture of acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is not similar from various aspect
of its pathophysiological course presenting from minimal symptoms to variety of severity of disease
like severe hypoxia, hypotension, right heart failure and death1. Massive pulmonary embolism is
defined as obstruction of blood flow to a lobe or multiple segments of the lung, or for unstable
hemodynamics, i.e. failure to maintain blood pressure without supportive measures. This case
highlights about aggressiveness of treatment and role of thrombolytic therapy for a severely
hemodynamic unstable patient2. Case report In February 2013, a forty eight years old male with no
prior co morbidities transferred from Quetta to Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi after sustaining
multiple lacerations and left tibia bone closed fracture in a bomb blast. After initial management in the
hospital, he underwent an orthopedic procedure (application of illiazarov over left tibia) under general
anaesthesia. The surgery went uneventful, and he then shifted to ward. From next day morning, he
suddenly developed dyspnea and became hypotensive and tachycardiac (respiratory rate about 40/min,
pulse 140 beats per min and blood pressures were around 60/30). He was barely maintaining oxygen
saturation 90% on 10 liters of O2 via facemask. Initially, he was given 2 liters of fluid bolus but
hemodynamics did not respond. A few minutes later, he went into pulseless electrical activity and

Tim O Brien s The Man I Killed
In the twenty years following the Vietnam War, Tim O Brien failed to share any stories from his
experiences in Vietnam. Finally he decided to write a book that he titled, The Things They Carried, in
1990 where he details all of the struggles he experienced after being drafted into the Vietnam War. In
chapter twelve, The Man I Killed, O Brien details Tim s uncertainty after killing his first Viet Cong
soldier. As the soldier lay on the ground physically destroyed by a grenade that once resided in Tim s
hand, Tim could not look away from him. He felt that this soldier could have been his friend if it was
not for the war, for which the reasons were ambiguous. As he knelt beside the body, he mentally
eulogized the man for his life accomplishments. Even though Tim had never met this man prior to that
moment, he was able to take his own life experiences and project them into the life of the deceased.
Tim says of the man, He imagined covering his head and lying in a deep hole and closing his eyes and
not moving until the war was over. He had no stomach for violence. He loved mathematics ( Killed
801) which paralleled Tim s feelings after being drafted into the war. O Brien did not understand the
political reasons that the United States had entered the Vietnam War, and he did not want to come
home in a body bag from a war that he did not believe in. In chapter four, On the Rainy River, of his
novel he shares this ambiguity by writing, certain blood was being shed for

For whoso findeth me [Wisdom] findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.
PROVERBS 8:35
Wisdom Is The Master Key To Life.
When you find or get Wisdom, you acquire basic secrets to a better life.
A better life should most definitely be your genuine goal.
You should always bear in mind that your life always has room for improvement.
God alone is perfect. He cannot be improved upon.
You, however, can pursue personal improvement and seek with great enthusiasm and great joy to
change your life for the better.
You only have one life; therefore, you should continually seek to improve it and make your human
experience here in this world the best you can possibly make it...and you gloriously achieve that with

The Path Of Humility. The path of humility is the way of walking in humility. Humility is defined as
the quality or condition of being humble. You should be a humble person. As a humble person, you are
marked by meekness or modesty in your behavior, your attitude, or your spirit. Being humble means
not being arrogant or prideful. God resists proud people, but He gives grace to humble people. But he
giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble,
(James 4:6). Also, good people (those that are morally good) reject proud persons but receive humble
persons. Humble persons they receive they give favor to. Humility makes you attractive a magnet for
the favor of others. That s why humility is a good path to follow in

Ancient China Essay
One of the most important inventions of all time was the invention of gunpowder. Imagine their
enemy s surprise when the Chinese first demonstrated their newest invention in the eighth century AD.
Chinese scientists discovered that an explosive mixture could be produced by combining sulfur,
charcoal, and saltpeter (potassium nitrate). The military applications were clear. New weapons were
rapidly developed, including rockets and others that were launched from a bamboo tube (Franklin
Institute). The Chinese are known for their inventions that still are used in the modern day. Those
inventions are paper, gunpowder, books, and much more.

I believe Paper was the greatest invention of all Chinese inventions, even greater than gunpowder.
Chinese legend tells that the new invention of paper was presented to the Emperor in the year 105 AD
by Cai Lun (Franklin Institute). In 105 AD, Han Emperor Ho Ti s chief eunuch T sai Lun tried with a
wide variety of materials and worked with the fiber of plants until each filament was completely
separate. The individual fibers were mixed with water in a large vat. Next, a screen was submerged in
the vat and lifted up through the water, catching the fibers on its surface. When dried, this thin layer of
intertwined fiber became what today we call paper. T sai Lun s thin, yet flexible and strong paper with
its fine, smooth surface was known as T sai Ko Shi, meaning: quot;Distinguished T sai s Paper quot;
and he became revered as the saint of papermaking.
It wasn t until the third century when the secret art of papermaking began to get out of China, first to
Vietnam and then Tibet. Taught by Chinese papermakers, Tibetans began to make their own paper as a
replacement for their traditional writing materials (Georgia Tech). It was introduced in Korea in the
forth century and spread to Japan in sixth century. There, during the eighth century, the Empress
Shotuka undertook a massive project consisting of printing a million prayers Dharani on individual
sheets of

Speech On Perseverance
There I was, dead tired on the final play of my football game. As they snapped the ball from the two
yard line, they ran it to the left. Now, I could have let the situation take over and not make my tired
body make the tackle and let them score the winning touchdown, but instead I persevered in the face
of a tired and stiff body and made the game saving touchdown. If one always keeps on keeping on, no
matter the situation, is perseverance. A person needs to be motivated, have optimism, and realizing
and using the advantages of perseverance to one s advantage if they want to have grit and
perseverance, which is to never quit even with difficulties.
To begin with, to have perseverance, one must always keep going forward, regardless of the situation.
There are many factors in keeping this grit, one of them being to always be motivated. A quote that
explains this is ... we conquer by continuing. (Smith 2017.) This quote helps prove the idea of
motivation by basically saying one cannot fail if they don t stop trying, which is motivation. If one
always keeps trying, they can never fail. More evidence to support this comes from The Iceberg
Illusion, where it says that you need failure, sacrifice, and disappointment in order to reach the level of
success they want. It takes much motivation to overcome failure, sacrifice, and disappointment in one
s life. This idea of motivation can be related back to me, because I have needed to stay motivated to
keep in shape the

Wuthering Heights Punishment
She was much too fond of Heathcliff. The greatest punishment we could invent for her was to keep
her separate from him: yet she got chided more than any of us on his account. (42). For Catherine and
Heathcliff, love and punishment will always intertwine. Nelly, the servant, clearly states this
observation to a tee. Their tortured love stretches afar, but would probably not do well under peaceful
circumstances. They seem to thrive on drama. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte is a story of
passionate love that encompasses two generations of two families: the Earnshaws and the Lintons.

his lack of education and filth. Unlike the first love triangle to occur in the family, Linton and Hareton
did not once discuss Cathy or have any hatred towards one another. Heathcliff desperately tries to
push Linton and Cathy together in hopes of a marriage which then gives him the ownership of
Thrushcross Grange. Taking drastic measures, Heathcliff locks Nelly and Cathy in Wuthering Heights
and marries Linton and Cathy who do in fact love each other. Linton eventually dies, leaving only
Heathcliff, Cathy, Hareton, and the servants at Wuthering Heights. Until one day when Hareton
accidentally shoots himself, Cathy tends to him. At first they argue, but eventually they come to an

Gogol as the Perfect Namesake
Gogol as the Perfect Namesake In Jhumpa Lahiri s novel The Namesake, Indian parents bestow a
Russian name to their first born baby boy; the name is Gogol Ganguli which is after the famous
Russian writer, Nikolai V. Gogol. In Lahiri s novel, the main character fights an identity crisis because
of his highly unusual name. Gogol carries uncertainty about himself throughout the novel because of
his name, He hates his name . . . that is has nothing to do with who he is, that it is neither Indian nor
American but of all things Russian (Lahiri 76). He constantly thinks the name Gogol does not
correlate with his own personality. However, upon exploration of his namesake, a person finds the

In the short story, Akaky s mother names him after his father because to give him any other name was
out of the question, (Gogol178). Also, his father is the one who gives Akaky life. And in the novel,
Ashoke gives Gogol his namesake because the short story of The Overcoat allows him a chance to
live, become a father, and give life to his son; the similar concepts of having a difficult time naming
the child and giving the child the name that gives him life, ties the characters of Akaky and Gogol
closely together; and re iterates that Gogol is the perfect namesake for Lahiri s character based upon
Nikolai Gogol s character in The Overcoat. Another aspect of Akaky that further identifies Gogol as
an ideal name for Lahiri s protagonist derives from one simple fact: each of the main characters
changed their names or persona in order to escape their contradictory names. For instance, in the novel
The Namesake, Gogol s identity crisis consumes him to the point where he creates a new name for
himself, He wonders if this is how it feels for an obese person to become thin, for a prisoner to walk
free. I m Nikhil, [he says] (Lahiri 102).
However, the name change in The Namesake is not the significant point that brings Gogol and Akaky
together like identical twins; it is the attitude each character displays once they form a new identity.

opened the opportunity for her to open several free schools there in New Jersey. Her schools were

Clara finally ran into rejection when the school board refused her the position of heading the school

Based on my review of his report, I do not believe the applicant has sought any treatment or made any
significant complaints with respect to the left shoulder. I only saw the mentioning of a shoulder pain
as a result of the chest wall and sternal discomfort as the applicant was unable to raise his hands over
his head at the time. There was no specific mentioning of the left shoulder.
Second, I would like to question Dr. Minor about his impairment finding for the bilateral knees. More
specifically, I would like to know where he saw a 1mm cartilage loss of both knees. I suspect he must
have seen it on an imaging study (i.e., X ray or MRI) but it was not explicitly documented in the
report (or I may have missed it).
Third, I will question him about his finding of impairment as a result of a sleep disorder and cognitive
impairment. More specifically, I would like to know if there are any objective findings to support
these impairments.
Fourth, I will question him about his impairment findings regarding binaural as well as the 3% pain
add on for tinnitus. I believe the binaural impairment was given in connection with the applicant s left
ear problem. Also, pain add on is inappropriate to increase an impairment on a body part with zero
impairment. If we could change Dr. Minor s opinion on the base impairment for the applicant s ear
problem, we may be able to wash out the 3% pain add on all together.
Fifth, I will question him about his apportionment

Industrial And Technical Review For Hadoop
This chapter introduces an industrial and technical review for Hadoop framework with other
technologies used with Hadoop system to process bigdata. Hadoop project originally was built and
supervised by Apache community. In addition to Apache many other companies whose businesses run
on Hadoop are adding more interesting features to Hadoop, some of them announced their own
Hadoop distributions replying on the original core distribution distributed by Apache.
2.1 Industry Feedback
In last Hadoop summit [19] Mike Gualtieri principal analyst at Forrester gave a keynote about the
market today s expectations from bigdata analysis solutions, he came up with these interesting results:
Data related projects are at the forefront of the minds of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chris Twogood from Teradata [50] and Timothy Mallalieu from Microsoft talked about how important
integrating Hadoop with traditional data technologies to get the most out of the new opportunities.
Arun Murthy who is a co founder of Hortonworks [51] gave an overview of the key recent advances
in Hadoop2.0, including the benefits of the YARN ResourceManager [18], and Apache STORM [73]
to process data streaming with Hadoop.
The list of companies and institutions are using or planning to switch to Hadoop is getting longer
every day. Adobe, Amazon, IBM, Pivotal, Google, Facebook, Twitter, CloudERA, MapR,
Hortonworks, Dell, Intel, HSBC, Deutsche Telecom, ...etc are just few examples of many
organizations switched or just announced they are switching to Hadoop.
2.2 Previous Work and Critique
2.2.1 Data Warehouse Systems DWHs
Data Warehouse Systems DWHs are platforms used to report and analyse the data by integrating data
from different disparate sources and creating a central repository of data data warehouse . This is
achieved through storing the current and the historic data to create reports for management or
technical reporting based on some pre defined configurations. Currently nearly every discussion
recently of big data analysis begins with a debate over what is the best way to perform the analysis,
whether the DWHs will be replaced by the new frameworks like Hadoop or not. Some went very far
thinking relational databases are going to

How Does Catullus Poem 64
Poem 64 is one of Catullus most ambitious and complex works. The mini epic comprises of 408 lines,
making it the longest poem of all Catullus works. The poem is written in the dactylic hexameter, the
traditional meter of epic poetry. The poem is further told through ekphrasis an ancient doctrine
denoting any poetic or rhetorical description, including descriptions of landscape, buildings, battles,
and storms.
The focal point of this report will be on the content of poem 64 and how it, reflects Catullus himself
and his relationship with Lesbia. Further, I will examine the mirroring of characters and emotions and
ambiguity of the poem as it stands in relation to his other works.
The poem as already stated is a mini epic and is often described ... Show more content on

However, immediately after this joyful expression of love and marriage Catullus introduces Ariadne.
Namque fluentisono prospectans litore Diae

Our first introduction of Ariadne is of her abandonment by Theseus. Ariadne looks on as Theseus
abandons her on the island bearing wild furies in the heart.
Catullus uses the female narrative express his feelings of grief due to his abandonment by Lesbia.
Theseus careless forgetfulness, which in the legend causes his father s mistaken suicide, parallels the
fecklessness of Lesbia.
Surrounding this, there is the perfect wedding of Peleus and Thetis represents a kind of high point in
the age of heroes. Achilles, destined to be born of this match, will distinguish himself chiefly by his
bloodthirstiness (as we learn in the marriage hymn sung by the Fates, 323 81).
Therefore, In poem 64 Ariadne is Catullus, and Theseus stands in as lesbia. Ariadne curses him from
line 130 stating that he is Treacherous, forgetful of his promises, merciless and ruthless. voce mihi,

Prior to 1821, the land beyond Missouri was an uncharted region known only to buffalo and displaced
Native Americans. When Mexicans won independence from Spain in 1821, they encouraged trade
with the United States via New Mexico. Lack of water and hostile Native Americans made the trip
dangerous, but William Becknell, Father of the Santa Fe Trail, left Missouri that year to arrive in Santa
Fe a month and a half later. After a large profit, Becknell continued to make trips, blazing the path that
became known as the Santa Fe Trail. Soon, traders, visitors, and the military would regularly travel the

Every day, legislators and decision makers meet with a variety of stakeholders, all of whom are
convening to raise awareness of their issues, sharing their opinions and ideas on the government s

Symbolism In The Masque Of The Red Death
Edgar Allan Poe s Masque of the Red Death , is a short story that takes place in the heart of a terrible
time where a deadly pestilence takes the lives of those who face it. The main symptom of the Red
Death is blood. The other symptoms include sharp pains, and sudden dizziness, and then profuse
bleeding at the pores, with dissolution (Poe 4). What makes this plague so deadly is that the duration
of the disease is no longer than half an hour, leaving the victim s face and body covered with blood.
Prince Prospero has grown scared, so he recruits some of his closest friends and goes to a secluded
castle in order to rebel against the plague (Poe 4). Months have passed and the Prince decides to
celebrate their health and throws a masquerade ball. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their inevitable death. The concept of the Red Death seems to come from the influences Poe has had
with Tuberculosis and the epidemics of the Black Death. These three deadly diseases share similarities
in symptoms and on how much lives they have taken. This story is a great reminder that death is

Powers of Horror by Julia Kristeva, Questions and Answers
To what extent are we all strangers to ourselves , even in our own countries? Answer with reference to
Kristeva s book.
Exile, the reality and practice of being barred from a native country, has prolifically influenced many
philosophers theoretical writings. Indeed, Julia Kristeva being in exile from her native Bulgaria is a
foreigner in an unascertained land. Being an outcast influence s her philosophical, political and
sociological extended essay Strangers to Ourselves published in 1991. The book addresses a problem
that Kristeva has experienced first hand: the struggle of being a foreigner in Western culture and the
difficulties that people and nations have with treating foreigners residing in their motherland. Jealousy
drives our nationalist temperaments and Kristeva explores the figure of the unconscious foreigner in
all of us. Strangers to Ourselves draws on the difficulty that natives have in accepting the stranger
within and if we can come to terms with this notion. The exile is often a foreigner in an unfamiliar
place or a foreigner repressed within the native s unconscious, however a feeling of strangeness can
also occur through an exclusion from the hegemonic rationalism of modern society (Lechte: 79).
There are at least two other forms of exile that can produce the foreign ness in us: being an exile as a
way to thrive intellectually and imaginatively and being alienated as a woman. Historically and in the
contemporary world, natives incite prejudice onto

The Necklace Greed
In Guy de Maupassant s The Necklace, Mathilde is blinded by her desires until her life is changed
forever. Even though Mathilde has a wonderful life, she yearns for more. Her husband struggles
everyday to please her need for power and pride. With a greedy, sinful voice calling her by name, she
is deprived of the joy that affection can bring. The journey that Mathilde travels, due to her need for a
higher social status, ultimately causes her to realize the love in her life. Mathilde is a young lady who

Without telling Mme. Forestier, Mathilde and her husband put all their savings together and get a loan
to pay for a new necklace to replace it. With hard work, they replenish the money they spent on the
necklace and Mathilde learns to be content with life. Once Mme. Forestier reveals that the necklace
that is lost is paste (73) and worth way less than its beauty, Mathilde s life is already traveling down
the path of transformation. Through this experience, Mathilde learns confidence. She learns love and

Inner Journey Cosi
Inner Journey Assessment William F Buckley quoted If all difficulties were known at the outset of a
long journey most of us would never start at all . This quote relates to journeys, specifically to inner
journeys with the intention that many journeys are difficult and if individuals knew how difficult the
journey was going to be, then most of us would not even commence the journey. A journey is simply a
movement from one place to another. Physical journeys are gateways to inner journeys, which is a
journey of the mind and spirit. Inner journeys take place when an individual experiences events or is
involved in relationships that act as a catalyst to gain greater understanding about themselves and the
world. Inner journeys can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The metaphor transfers the journey from a physical one. The persona is confronted with the choice of
two roads, both fairly similar two roads diverged in a yellow wood , and must decide which one he
wants to travel. This is similar to Lewis s situation where he has to decide between politics, and true
love and fidelity and which is more important. The persona, with ultimately choosing the one that was
grassy and wanted wear and the one less travelled by . He wanted to break away from the norm and
experience something new. This road may be more rewarding despite the fact it presents more
challenges. The inner journey is depicted through the use of language techniques such as, extended
metaphor, first person pronoun, repetition and symbolism. The use of first person pronoun I shows
that it is a personal journey where choices need to be made. The repetition of I in the last stanza
highlights the speaker s solitude and that he is proud of the choice he has made and I I took the one
less travelled by , also emphasises that we are responsible for our own decisions on our own journey.
It helps the audience connect to the poem and inturn reflect on their own inner journey experiences.
Frost uses symbolism in the word in the first line of the first stanza in yellow of the wood. This
symbolises the season autumn and the autumnal time in ones life where time is running out and
decisions need to be made, this demonstrates

Good Leadership Characteristics Of Good Presidents
Good Leadership Characteristics of Good Presidents
For our presentation, we have decided the best theme to show the many traits of great leaders was to
show them in the Presidents of the United States. There were many different presidents who had
different qualities; some bad and some good. In our presentation, we will show you the president who
showed a specific trait in their actions. Most of the presidents who showed positive character traits
were are remembered in a good way. Many of the presidents with poor leadership traits became very
infamous.
Theodore Roosevelt Courage: The 26th president of the United States, Teddy Roosevelt, was a very
well liked president; mostly because of his personality. He was a hard worker and played many sports
including boxing, fishing, running, and mountain climbing. His childhood really influenced his
personality and character traits that they carried on to when he became the leading general at the
Battle of San Juan Hill in the Spanish American. He led what was known as The Rough Riders . His
impeccable courage guided the Americans to victory. Also, when he became president, he created the
Square Deal which helped the American get out the coal shortage slump. His courage to get
Americans through droughts and rough times shows that he can be a great leader. As Teddy Roosevelt
showed, courage can guide people to victory, as he did in the Battle of San Juan Hill.

In 1995, The People of the State of California vs. Orenthal James Simpson, became the most

prosecution s case against O. J. Simpson for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle

The sock was important because it appeared to have blood stains on it. For the prosecution s case
against Simpson, they had the blood stains analyzed by the Department of Justice serologist Gary
Sims. He testified in the case that the blood found on the socks were what he considered to be spatter
stains or something along those lines (Walraven, 1995). The blood was tested and was found to be a
match for one of the murder victims, Nicole Brown Simpson. To counter this evidence, the defense for
O. J. Simpson called Herbert MacDonell to testify about the blood stains that were found on the socks
in Simpson s bedroom. The defense wan t trying to deny that the blood belong to Nicole, but rather
how the blood ended up on the sock in the first place. Based on his experience in the field of
bloodstain pattern analysis, he was able to present an argument that the blood stain was a result of a
compression transfer (Walraven, 1995), rather than blood spatter, as the prosecution suggested. The
compression transfer is said to be the result of someone placing blood onto the sock using some sort of
device, and then removing it from the surface of the sock. The amount of blood present on one
particular portion of the sock was also inconsistent with what you would find if spatter had occurred.
Additionally, based on an identical spot of blood forming on the opposite side of the sock from, it was
argued that the blood could have only come in contact with the sock while it was not being worn and
in a relatively flat position. The theory of the sock was that the blood was planted on it, and that could
have only have happened if it was not being worn at the time of the

Gold Nanorods Essay
In the ever advancing field of nanotechnology and materials science there has been a buzz in the air in
recent years over Gold Nanorods (GNRs). Their unique structure and ease of synthesis provides a
range of optical properties that can be readily manipulated. These properties can be utilised in various
applications such as surface functionalisation, photothermal therapy to manage tumours and cancer
cells. In this review, we will look at the current research that analyses the toxicity of GNRs and what
effects the surface chemistry and synthesis have on this. We will also discuss what effect the size and
shape of GNRs have on biological systems, reinforcing why they are making such a statement in the
world of science.

Gold nanorod (GNR) synthesis requires the surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) [7],
this process produces a high yield of GNRs with surface plasmon resonances in the infra red as well as
visible light range. CTAB is the agent that drives anisotropic growth as well as provides the
stabilization needed to form the bilayers on the GNRs [8]. Quite a significant amount of CTAB is used
in this synthesis and after the synthesis there is still an amount of CTAB remaining on the surface of
the GNRs [9]. The excess CTAB on the surface has both a lack of stability in biological systems and
presents a significant amount of cytotoxicity [3, 10, 11]. In the literature it has presented that GNR
solutions that are CTAB capped at a certain concentration present a substantial amount of cytotoxicity
at around 70% loss of cell viability [10]. In this paper published by Wiley, with over 600 citations was
an extraordinary paper. It was well constructed and no faults could be found with it. With that amount
of citations, it has clearly influenced the further investigation of the cytotoxicity of GNRs. Now we
have identified that CTAB is the problem, how have researchers attempted to solve it? You re probably
thinking, remove the CTAB, which is a very reasonable suggestion. Removing the CTAB from the
surface of the GNRs and replacing them with other viable biomolecules is not a simple process. By
removing the CTAB from the surface of the GNRs the first issue

The predicted behavioral outcome is the patients pain will decrease from eight out of ten down to five

1. Administering the patient s pain medications as often as allowed. This is important to help maintain
the patient s pain at an acceptable level (Unbound Medicine, 2014).
2. Assist the patient in movement. This helps to decrease the patient s pain by taking some of the

Analysis Of The Really Big One By Kathryn Schulz

within the years the natural disasters are getting stronger than they were before the global warming.
The author wants to show how each year there are more natural disasters. Schulz strengthens her
argument by telling people that the earthquakes or tsunamis can come their way and ruin everything
they worked. To inform the readers, she uses robust overall structure, imagery, tone, and syntax.

long we have, and what we will do before geological times catch up to our own (Schulz 11). Schulz is
saying that people don t have an idea when the catastrophe happens, but some people are working, try
to find when the next earthquake or tsunami will strike again. The time is ticking for us while the
water level in the ocean increases and decreases at this moment. The author shows us that we need to

Schulz demonstrates that we are not prepared to even think about it. As a result of global warming, the

Voting Essay
Voting is a right that has long been fought over; it has taken countless reforms, amendments, and
societal changes to make our country s great democracy what it is today. The time has come again to
make a much needed reform in voting policies by lowering required age. Sixteen years olds should be
permitted voting status for numerous reasons including their access to the same rights as older adults,
previous success this policy has carried in other areas, and the full cognitive and reasoning
development in these older teens.
To start off, sixteen year olds are permitted nearly the same rights as older voters in every case except
for voting. According to an article on teen voting, People under age 18 have the ability to win a Nobel

In 2013, Takoma Park a small, progressive enclave in a suburb of Washington, DC became the first
city in the US to lower its local election voting age to 16. In Takoma Park, the turnout rate for 16 and
17 year olds not only exceeded that of every other demographic in the city s 2013 and 2015 elections,
but nearly quadrupled the overall average. (Crockett) Because of the age requirement decrease in this
area, votes increased significantly. Contrary to popular assumption, younger teens value being
represented. Moreover, other countries have implemented this process with great success;
Internationally, at least 20 countries allow citizens under the age of 18 to vote. In Brazil, Ecuador,
Argentina, and Nicaragua, 16 year olds regularly contribute to the electoral process. In Greece and
Indonesia, 17 year olds can vote in national elections, and in Israel they have the right to vote in
municipal contests. Recently, 16 year olds in the Scotland election had a 75 percent turnout rate higher
than voters three times their age. (Crockett). Through this evidence, it is obvious to see that lowering
the voting age would be a step in the right direction for this country s democracy.
Certainly, some critics would contend that teens are immature and uneducated about electoral
processes and do not have sufficient skills to make critical decisions, but they are ignorant to the fact

Taylor’s Scientific Management
The innovation of the world today is towards its deal of materialistic presence of flow of nature. This
era of modernization and innovation of the world as at its present view of today has given a chance
and has helped to promote organizations whom seek to improve their businesses through efficiency
and effectiveness with the help of the classical management theory which is Taylor s management.
Before getting into the depths about Taylor s Management, let s get a glimpse about the idea of
management. Management is elaborated as an individual or a group of people that can take and follow
the responsibilities to run a business or an organization in order to achieve the objectives and goals
(Kaylan city life, 2011). The concept of management ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides that, through systematically analyzing and interpreting the relationship between the worker
and the task hence redesigning it will ensure the maximum potential of efficiency of an employee can
produce in an outcome (Swinton.L, n.d). The theory of this concept is that to spot the weakness of a
company and to replace it with strength types of approaches in order to increase the opportunity of the
company to produce a better production. As an example, using a bigger shovel to scoop more grains as
this will increase the amount of grains lifted at one time will be much more rather than using a small
shovel which will cause even longer time and work force. General Electric is one of the organizations
that have implemented this theory with the presence of Jack Welch as the CEO of this business. This
approach has boosted General Electrics profit from $24 billion to $74 billion (MBA Knowledge Base,
2013).
Furthermore, having a written procedure of each task will ensure the efficiency and effectiveness
improvement in a company (Swinton.L, n.d). A written rules policy or procedure will give a guarantee
towards our aim as each and every progressed work will be deliberately followed by the supervision
and quality control. This closely followed plan will make sure that every employee puts out his or her
maximum performance in order to give a good source of applicable production source. Guinness

Essay On Hair Bias
Do you have a hair bias? Take the Hair IAT to Find Out
We know that the increasing visibility of black women s natural hair and its growing popularity does
not mean there isn t still a bias against it. Most of us have had to deal with our own experiences of this
bias or at the very least, are aware of someone who has. Whether it s in the workplace or at school or
going through security at the airport, we live this. Naturallycurly has also written about this study in
an article entitled There s still a stigma against natural hair (this study is proof). TeenVogue.com also
has an article entitled Study Shows Bias Against Black Women s Natural Hair, and both are worth
reading. The TeenVogue article had a link to the test on which the study is ... Show more content on

Or maybe it means nothing and I m reading too much into it but here s a little bit of information that
might help to put my results in context.
Some background information
Towards the end of January, I straightened my natural hair. I had it done at a salon primarily to get a
professional trim and a good visual of my length. I have been natural for over 6 years and I had never
done this before, so it was a completely new experience for me. I HATED my straightened hair. It was
easy to run a comb through it but, it really was a pain in the butt. For one thing, my satin scarf and
bonnet wouldn t stay on my head because my hair was so silky, they just slid right off it. Same thing
for my ponytail holder. I felt like I constant replacing my bonnet and fixing my ponytail and I had no
time for that. Having worn my hair straightened had really intensified my natural hair love and since it
was about four weeks between the straightening and taking the test, I was still mentally in that place.
In fact, I d only had my natural hair back for abut two weeks when I did the

Taking a Look at Ghazan s Reforms and Time in Power
When Ghazan came into power, the Ilkhanid kindom was in rough shape. The kingdom he inherits
was in economical decline due to factors such as mismanagement and excessive taxes. Mostly in
response to the economic decline, as well as some out of sincere benevolence, Ghazan enacted a series
of wide ranging reforms: increased construction projects; abolition of extraordinary taxes;
improvement of gold and silver currency; establishment of single system of weights and measures tat
was based on the tabriz system; purging parasitic thieves and bandits; creation of a separate royal
troop; revise prenuptial agreement to a more modest amount; installation of baths and mosques in
every village; young woman s right to not be sold to brothels without their consent; and punishment
for public intoxication. The paper will explore Jami al tawarikh, the main primary source, in which the
author, Rashid al Din, Ghazan s vizier, who helped draft these reforms with Ghazan Khan, gives a
detailed account on the economy before Ghazan, his reforms and their implementation 1 The paper
will examine the aforementioned reforms by organizing it into subheadings, and will explore, to the
best of its ability, the overall effect from these reforms according to the vizier and author, Rashid al
Din.
Increased Construction Projects Rashid notes that despite Ghazan s predecessors inclination toward
building, they were ultimately neglected to two key reasons. Although the buildings were started, and

Mission Work as a Group
Social groups describe who we are as individuals. Every person is involved in multiple social groups
whether they realize it or not. Some social groups can be determined by a broad spectrum or a narrow
spectrum. Social groups can be spread out throughout different regions as well as an entire nation as a
whole. Every person who attends North Carolina State University is part of the same social group.
That social group can be broken down into many smaller groups, such as the individual colleges in the
University. Within those smaller groups of the different colleges, the groups can even be divided into
smaller groups by major, and then again by concentration. Every person belongs to dozens of social
groups without even realizing.
The social group that has played a huge role in my life is the one of people who has participated in
mission work. Mission work is something that has been very vital in my life ever since I was a little
girl in middle school. I do not know what my life would be today without being part of groups that did
service projects, and volunteer work as well as on many occasions spreading the knowledge of
Christianity. I have been a part of two groups in particular that have truly changed the way I look at
life and how I view other people. Tungsten Baptist Church and First Baptist Youth Group have both
been very influential on life and I cannot imagine my life without these. I started going to Tungsten
Baptist Church when I was just a baby

those that would be affected. If there isn t one thing I ve learned so far in life, I ve learned that every

Edward Gordon Craig Uber Marionettes
Edward Gordon Craig, a prominent English set designer and theorist from 1900, designed sets and
created modernist theories which greatly influenced modern theatre. Regarded as one of his most
controversial essays on theatrical discourse, The Actor and the Über marionette rendered Edward
Gordon Craig s critique on modern theatre. Although he appreciates actors and their work to a certain
degree, Craig advocates for the complete removal of actors from theatre and warns actors of their
misconceptions of acting as art form, providing the guidelines on what it means to be an artist in his
eyes. Denouncing actors entirely for their emotional and human weaknesses, Craig hopes to turn to a
developing alternative at the time as their replacements, large scale puppets uber marionettes whose
purposeful movements, controlled emotional state, and crafted image work together to create a
deliberate impassioned performance. Despite sharing similarities with Craig s uber marionettes and
embodying some aspects of his philosophy, the Muppets ultimately differ in the respect that they
retain and emphasize a human element from humans acting with and through a puppet.
As mentioned above, Craig holds the notion that these puppets or uber marionettes will bring about a
revival in modern theatre. This revival has to do with the reforming of the governing laws of theatre
and acting as an art. In his essay, Craig interprets art as the desired expression of an artist s thoughts,
emotions,

precision. On IVB, the ratio of performance between SP to
DP is around 2, which is consistent with the SIMD width ratio of these two precisions. For KNC, the
SIMD widths in
SP and DP are 16 and 8 respectively, but a performance gap of
3 to 4 times in SP and DP is observed, which is well beyond the ratio of SIMD width. This is because
the performance of where clauses for WS/DMMPs schemes on KNC is sensitive to the SIMD width as
described in the section of SW26010 optimization. The wider the SIMD vectorization is supported,
the better performance efficiency can be obtained.
Unlike IVB and KNC, SW26010 has the same SIMD width of 4 in both SP and DP and no auto
vectorization is supported by the compiler on this platform so far. Thus, the ... Show more content on

It is observed that on IVB the averaged floating point performance can reach to as high as 45% of the
peak performance in both single and doubleprecision.
Using KNC as a standalone many core processor results in an averaged performance of 406.62
Gflops/s in single precision, which is above 20% of the theoretical peak.
But the averaged double precision performance reduces dramatically to 111.63 Gflops/s, which is just
over 10% of the peak performance. When KNC is used as a coprocessor, which is a much more
common case, the cost of data transfer between the main memory and the device memory should be
included.
And the results, shown as KNC+offload indicate that the performance drop due to the data transfer is
substantial; only around 6% to 8% of the peak performance is sustained in double and single precision
respectively. As a many core processor, SW26010 does not need the data transfer between the main
memory and the device memory, and the performance is satisfactory as compared to the KNC in
offload mode, especially in the single precision case.
VII. CONCLUSION
In this paper, we presented a software toolkit AutoWM for universal multi /many core accelerations of
the WRF cloud microphysics schemes on multiple parallel platforms. The basic idea of AutoWM is to
modularize the conversion processes of WRF microphysics as building blocks and use the platform
specific code segments to reconstruct well optimized microphysics codes. Being

Driven by Bishop Athanasius, the gathering confirmed the precept of the Trinity as conventionality and censured Arius showing that Christ was the first making of God. The ideology received by the committee depicted Christ as God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance (homoousios) with the Father. Finally he decided to write a book that he titled, The Things They Carried, in 1990 where he details all of the struggles he experienced after being drafted into the Vietnam War. In chapter twelve, The Man I Killed, O Brien details Tim s uncertainty after killing his first Viet Cong soldier. As the soldier lay on the ground physically destroyed by a grenade that once resided in Tim s hand, Tim could not look away from him. He felt that this soldier could have been his friend if it was not for the war, for which the reasons were ambiguous. As he knelt beside the body, he mentally eulogized the man for his life accomplishments. Even though Tim had never met this man prior to that moment, he was able to take his own life experiences and project them into the life of the deceased. Tim says of the man, He imagined covering his head and lying in a deep hole and closing his eyes and not moving until the war was over. He had no stomach for violence. He loved mathematics ( Killed 801) which paralleled Tim s feelings after being drafted into the war. O Brien did not understand the political reasons that the United States had entered the Vietnam War, and he did not want to come home in a body bag from a war that he did not believe in. I believe Paper was the greatest invention of all Chinese inventions, even greater than gunpowder. Chinese legend tells that the new invention of paper was presented to the Emperor in the year 105 AD by Cai Lun (Franklin Institute). The individual fibers were mixed with water in a large vat. Next, a screen was submerged in the vat and lifted up through the water, catching the fibers on its surface. Now, I could have let the situation take over and not make my tired body make the tackle and let them score the winning touchdown, but instead I persevered in the face of a tired and stiff body and made the game saving touchdown. If one always keeps on keeping on, no matter the situation, is perseverance. A person needs to be motivated, have optimism, and realizing and using the advantages of perseverance to one s advantage if they want to have grit and perseverance, which is to never quit even with difficulties. To begin with, to have perseverance, one must always keep going forward, regardless of the situation. There are many factors in keeping this grit, one of them being to always be motivated. A quote that explains this is ... we conquer by continuing. (Smith 2017.) This quote helps prove the idea of motivation by basically saying one cannot fail if they don t stop trying, which is motivation. If one always keeps trying, they can never fail. More evidence to support this comes from The Iceberg Illusion, where it says that you need failure, sacrifice, and disappointment in order to reach the level of success they want. For instance, in the novel The Namesake, Gogol s identity crisis consumes him to the point where he creates a new name for himself, He wonders if this is how it feels for an obese person to become thin, for a prisoner to walk free. I m Nikhil, [he says] (Lahiri 102). However, the name change in The Namesake is not the significant point that brings Gogol and Akaky together like identical twins; it is the attitude each character displays once they form a new identity. After running her own school for a few years Clara recognized that she needed more change and at age 29, Clara enrolled in an advanced school for female teachers in Clinton, New York. This addition to her education led her to a teaching position in New Jersey which opened the opportunity for her to open several free schools there in New Jersey. Her schools were very successful and students flocked to be a part of them. After much success in her teaching career, Clara finally ran into rejection when the school board refused her the position of heading the school she had founded and instead gave the job to a less qualified man. This greatly upset Clara and she again decided she needed a change, however this time the change was more dramatic. After recovering from the emotional effects of the events that occurred in New Jersey, Clara took a job in Washington D.C. as a copy clerk in the U.S. Patent Office. There was no specific mentioning of the left shoulder. Second, I would like to question Dr. Minor about his impairment finding for the bilateral knees. More specifically, I would like to know where he saw a 1mm cartilage loss of both knees. I suspect he must have seen it on an imaging study (i.e., X ray or MRI) but it was not explicitly documented in the report (or I may have missed it). Third, I will question him about his finding of impairment as a result of a sleep disorder and cognitive impairment. More specifically, I would like to know if there are any objective findings to support these impairments. Fourth, I will question him about his impairment findings regarding binaural as well as the 3% pain add on for tinnitus. I believe the binaural impairment was given in connection with the applicant s left ear problem. Also, pain add on is inappropriate to increase an impairment on a body part with zero impairment. The main symptom of the Red Death is blood. The other symptoms include sharp pains, and sudden dizziness, and then profuse bleeding at the pores, with dissolution (Poe 4). What makes this plague so deadly is that the duration of the disease is no longer than half an hour, leaving the victim s face and body covered with blood. Exile, the reality and practice of being barred from a native country, has prolifically influenced many philosophers theoretical writings. Indeed, Julia Kristeva being in exile from her native Bulgaria is a foreigner in an unascertained land. Being an outcast influence s her philosophical, political and sociological extended essay Strangers to Ourselves published in 1991. The book addresses a problem that Kristeva has experienced first hand: the struggle of being a foreigner in Western culture and the difficulties that people and nations have with treating foreigners residing in their motherland. Jealousy drives our nationalist temperaments and Kristeva explores the figure of the unconscious foreigner in all of us. Strangers to Ourselves draws on the difficulty that natives have in accepting the stranger within and if we can come to terms with this notion. The exile is often a foreigner in an unfamiliar place or a foreigner repressed within the native s unconscious, however a feeling of strangeness can also occur through an exclusion from the hegemonic rationalism of modern society (Lechte: 79). There are at least two other forms of exile that can produce the foreign ness in us: being an exile as a way to thrive intellectually and imaginatively and being alienated as a woman. A journey is simply a movement from one place to another. Physical journeys are gateways to inner journeys, which is a journey of the mind and spirit. The defense wan t trying to deny that the blood belong to Nicole, but rather how the blood ended up on the sock in the first place. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gold nanorod (GNR) synthesis requires the surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) [7], this process produces a high yield of GNRs with surface plasmon resonances in the infra red as well as visible light range. CTAB is the agent that drives anisotropic growth as well as provides the stabilization needed to form the bilayers on the GNRs [8]. Quite a significant amount of CTAB is used in this synthesis and after the synthesis there is still an amount of CTAB remaining on the surface of the GNRs [9]. The excess CTAB on the surface has both a lack of stability in biological systems and presents a significant amount of cytotoxicity [3, 10, 11]. In the literature it has presented that GNR solutions that are CTAB capped at a certain concentration present a substantial amount of cytotoxicity at around 70% loss of cell viability [10]. In this paper published by Wiley, with over 600 citations was an extraordinary paper. It was well constructed and no faults could be found with it. With that amount of citations, it has clearly influenced the further investigation of the cytotoxicity of GNRs. There are many problems in the U.S but Jim Gilmore is focusing on three that have been troubling the U.S. There have been many questions on abortion. Should it be legal? Should there be a time range? Should it be banned? There has even been religion brought into the fight. Jim Gilmore says that it shouldn t be allowed before eight weeks of pregnancy and no later than twelve weeks of pregnancy. • 40. Analysis Of The Really Big One By Kathryn Schulz Kathryn Schulz wrote the article The Really Big One to introduce people to the natural disasters that are coming. Schulz urges audience to understand that the catastrophe might ruin people s lives at any moment and no one would be prepared for it emotionally or physically. She explains to everyone that within the years the natural disasters are getting stronger than they were before the global warming. The author wants to show how each year there are more natural disasters. Schulz strengthens her argument by telling people that the earthquakes or tsunamis can come their way and ruin everything they worked. To inform the readers, she uses robust overall structure, imagery, tone, and syntax. The overall structure in the article shows how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Schulz reminds that even though we don t know when we can get hit by the disaster, they want to know more about it and want to prepare. As the prominent philosopher, Schulz puts it, All day long, just out of sight, the ocean rises and collapses, spilling foamy overlapping ovals onto the shore... how long we have, and what we will do before geological times catch up to our own (Schulz 11). Schulz is saying that people don t have an idea when the catastrophe happens, but some people are working, try to find when the next earthquake or tsunami will strike again. The time is ticking for us while the water level in the ocean increases and decreases at this moment. The author shows us that we need to get ready in case of any danger. It gives them more education about earthquakes, tsunamis, etc.. Schulz demonstrates that we are not prepared to even think about it. As a result of global warming, the natural disasters are gaining strength and are showing us that we might not be able to win this battle. The author believes that imagery makes the audience imagine what can happen to them when the catastrophe happens. Schulz claims that with the use of imagery, people would be able to imagine the disaster going on in real life but also in their minds. • 41. Voting Essay Voting is a right that has long been fought over; it has taken countless reforms, amendments, and societal changes to make our country s great democracy what it is today. The time has come again to make a much needed reform in voting policies by lowering required age. Sixteen years olds should be permitted voting status for numerous reasons including their access to the same rights as older adults, previous success this policy has carried in other areas, and the full cognitive and reasoning development in these older teens. To start off, sixteen year olds are permitted nearly the same rights as older voters in every case except for voting. According to an article on teen voting, People under age 18 have the ability to win a Nobel Prize, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 2013, Takoma Park a small, progressive enclave in a suburb of Washington, DC became the first city in the US to lower its local election voting age to 16. In Takoma Park, the turnout rate for 16 and 17 year olds not only exceeded that of every other demographic in the city s 2013 and 2015 elections, but nearly quadrupled the overall average. (Crockett) Because of the age requirement decrease in this area, votes increased significantly. Contrary to popular assumption, younger teens value being represented. Moreover, other countries have implemented this process with great success; Internationally, at least 20 countries allow citizens under the age of 18 to vote. In Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, and Nicaragua, 16 year olds regularly contribute to the electoral process. In Greece and Indonesia, 17 year olds can vote in national elections, and in Israel they have the right to vote in municipal contests. Recently, 16 year olds in the Scotland election had a 75 percent turnout rate higher than voters three times their age. (Crockett). Through this evidence, it is obvious to see that lowering the voting age would be a step in the right direction for this country s democracy. Certainly, some critics would contend that teens are immature and uneducated about electoral processes and do not have sufficient skills to make critical decisions, but they are ignorant to the fact that their claim is not ... This era of modernization and innovation of the world as at its present view of today has given a chance and has helped to promote organizations whom seek to improve their businesses through efficiency and effectiveness with the help of the classical management theory which is Taylor s management. Before getting into the depths about Taylor s Management, let s get a glimpse about the idea of management. Management is elaborated as an individual or a group of people that can take and follow the responsibilities to run a business or an organization in order to achieve the objectives and goals (Kaylan city life, 2011). Besides that, through systematically analyzing and interpreting the relationship between the worker and the task hence redesigning it will ensure the maximum potential of efficiency of an employee can produce in an outcome (Swinton.L, n.d). The theory of this concept is that to spot the weakness of a company and to replace it with strength types of approaches in order to increase the opportunity of the company to produce a better production. As an example, using a bigger shovel to scoop more grains as this will increase the amount of grains lifted at one time will be much more rather than using a small shovel which will cause even longer time and work force. General Electric is one of the organizations that have implemented this theory with the presence of Jack Welch as the CEO of this business. This approach has boosted General Electrics profit from $24 billion to $74 billion (MBA Knowledge Base, 2013). Furthermore, having a written procedure of each task will ensure the efficiency and effectiveness improvement in a company (Swinton.L, n.d). A written rules policy or procedure will give a guarantee towards our aim as each and every progressed work will be deliberately followed by the supervision and quality control. Some background information Towards the end of January, I straightened my natural hair. I had it done at a salon primarily to get a professional trim and a good visual of my length. I have been natural for over 6 years and I had never done this before, so it was a completely new experience for me. I HATED my straightened hair. It was easy to run a comb through it but, it really was a pain in the butt. For one thing, my satin scarf and bonnet wouldn t stay on my head because my hair was so silky, they just slid right off it. Same thing for my ponytail holder. I felt like I constant replacing my bonnet and fixing my ponytail and I had no time for that. Mostly in response to the economic decline, as well as some out of sincere benevolence, Ghazan enacted a series of wide ranging reforms: increased construction projects; abolition of extraordinary taxes; improvement of gold and silver currency; establishment of single system of weights and measures tat was based on the tabriz system; purging parasitic thieves and bandits; creation of a separate royal troop; revise prenuptial agreement to a more modest amount; installation of baths and mosques in every village; young woman s right to not be sold to brothels without their consent; and punishment for public intoxication. The paper will explore Jami al tawarikh, the main primary source, in which the author, Rashid al Din, Ghazan s vizier, who helped draft these reforms with Ghazan Khan, gives a detailed account on the economy before Ghazan, his reforms and their implementation 1 The paper will examine the aforementioned reforms by organizing it into subheadings, and will explore, to the best of its ability, the overall effect from these reforms according to the vizier and author, Rashid al Din. Some social groups can be determined by a broad spectrum or a narrow spectrum. Social groups can be spread out throughout different regions as well as an entire nation as a whole. Every person who attends North Carolina State University is part of the same social group. That social group can be broken down into many smaller groups, such as the individual colleges in the University. Within those smaller groups of the different colleges, the groups can even be divided into smaller groups by major, and then again by concentration. Every person belongs to dozens of social groups without even realizing. The social group that has played a huge role in my life is the one of people who has participated in mission work. Mission work is something that has been very vital in my life ever since I was a little girl in middle school. I do not know what my life would be today without being part of groups that did service projects, and volunteer work as well as on many occasions spreading the knowledge of Christianity. I have been a part of two groups in particular that have truly changed the way I look at life and how I view other people. • 48. Edward Gordon Craig Uber Marionettes Edward Gordon Craig, a prominent English set designer and theorist from 1900, designed sets and created modernist theories which greatly influenced modern theatre. Regarded as one of his most controversial essays on theatrical discourse, The Actor and the Über marionette rendered Edward Gordon Craig s critique on modern theatre. Although he appreciates actors and their work to a certain degree, Craig advocates for the complete removal of actors from theatre and warns actors of their misconceptions of acting as art form, providing the guidelines on what it means to be an artist in his eyes. Denouncing actors entirely for their emotional and human weaknesses, Craig hopes to turn to a developing alternative at the time as their replacements, large scale puppets uber marionettes whose purposeful movements, controlled emotional state, and crafted image work together to create a deliberate impassioned performance. Despite sharing similarities with Craig s uber marionettes and embodying some aspects of his philosophy, the Muppets ultimately differ in the respect that they retain and emphasize a human element from humans acting with and through a puppet. As mentioned above, Craig holds the notion that these puppets or uber marionettes will bring about a revival in modern theatre. This revival has to do with the reforming of the governing laws of theatre and acting as an art. In his essay, Craig interprets art as the desired expression of an artist s thoughts, emotions, ... • 49. Essay On Ivb precision. On IVB, the ratio of performance between SP to DP is around 2, which is consistent with the SIMD width ratio of these two precisions. For KNC, the SIMD widths in SP and DP are 16 and 8 respectively, but a performance gap of 3 to 4 times in SP and DP is observed, which is well beyond the ratio of SIMD width. This is because the performance of where clauses for WS/DMMPs schemes on KNC is sensitive to the SIMD width as described in the section of SW26010 optimization. The wider the SIMD vectorization is supported, the better performance efficiency can be obtained. Unlike IVB and KNC, SW26010 has the same SIMD width of 4 in both SP and DP and no auto vectorization is supported by the compiler on this platform so far. Thus, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is observed that on IVB the averaged floating point performance can reach to as high as 45% of the peak performance in both single and doubleprecision. Using KNC as a standalone many core processor results in an averaged performance of 406.62 Gflops/s in single precision, which is above 20% of the theoretical peak. But the averaged double precision performance reduces dramatically to 111.63 Gflops/s, which is just over 10% of the peak performance. When KNC is used as a coprocessor, which is a much more common case, the cost of data transfer between the main memory and the device memory should be included. And the results, shown as KNC+offload indicate that the performance drop due to the data transfer is substantial; only around 6% to 8% of the peak performance is sustained in double and single precision respectively. As a many core processor, SW26010 does not need the data transfer between the main memory and the device memory, and the performance is satisfactory as compared to the KNC in offload mode, especially in the single precision case. VII. CONCLUSION In this paper, we presented a software toolkit AutoWM for universal multi /many core accelerations of the WRF cloud microphysics schemes on multiple parallel platforms. The basic idea of AutoWM is to modularize the conversion processes of WRF microphysics as building blocks and use the platform specific code segments to reconstruct well optimized microphysics codes.
