responsibility, etc. Moral psychology can be applied in various areas of studies like

Dharma (Morality) Everyone is born different. This can create conflicts which are nothing but moral
conflicts or dilemmas for an individual. One s attitude when making these decisions and acting
accordingly determines how moralistic one is; that is how much one follows the laws of Dharma.
When humans deviate from Dharma it creates conflicts, which are evident both within individuals and
in the wider society. It gives birth to greed, desire, jealousy and anger that give rise to all forms of
conflicts and social disturbances. Dharma as selfless action An individual has the ability and right to
choose their own actions and to behave in a particular way. But the outcome of these actions is not in
the hands of an individual. A selfless action is when an individual s behavior is not governed or
effected or influenced by external forces and there is no importance given to outcomes. This allows
actualization of one s full potential (Shrivastava,Dhingra Bhardwaj

The Case Of Innostat, The Main Issue On The Culture Of The...
Task 1
In the case of Innostat, the main issue on the culture of the organization has led to a bad productivity
and has affected its effectiveness and efficiency. This portrays that Innostat has overlooked the
importance of culture which claims by Schein (2004) as powerful energy for the organization in order
to reach the goals. Hence, Innostat is now struggling to bring back its innovating edge. By referring to
the Burke Litwin Model (1992), it can be seen that there is an interconnectedness of four factors
including leadership, culture, work unit climate and motivation which the effects will be analyze using
the same model shortly. Ultimately, this analysis proposes that the most crucial issue to be addressed
in the case of Innostat is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This kind of leadership promotes a culture of dependency toward the leader, hence blocks the growth
of creativity, skill and knowledge of the employees. This is supported by the expert, Eckerts (Beer,
2006) who further states that charismatic leadership style like Jack has lose the creative energy of the
employees. In addition to that, due to this leadership style, it does not promote the culture of
cooperation, teamwork and trust between the top management and employees.
Due to this culture, the work unit climate is affected as well. It can be seen that there is a weak cross
functional collaboration among the departments since Jack s leadership. This is demonstrated by Jack,
who goes directly to R D department for new projects without considering any discussion with other
departments. Therefore, other departments do not functioning at their optimal level hence, it affects
the organization effectiveness. Besides that, it is clear that Innostat employees only working within
their own departments, and prefer to work on their achievements, hence prove that there is no
common goal among them. Apart from that, Jack s opinion on Good ideas don t need incentives, they
need passion (Beer, 2006) is one of the factors that affect the individual and organizational
performance. Jack as a leader does not put much attention on the rewards, hence it

Analysis Of The Movie Sunny Randall
The Sunny Randall series follows main character Sunny Randall, who is a female detective. She was
created by Parker so that Helen Hunt would play her in a movie, but it never happened. He kept the
series going because his publisher asked him to. Both Randall and Spenser (another Boston detective
that was created by Parker) have things in common, but also things that make them unique. There are
six novels to the series.
Sunny Randall is a private investigator in the city of Boston, and used to be a cop. She has a bull
terrier named Rosie, is a college graduate, and she would like to be a painter. Randall also has an ex
husband who is named Richie and Richie is from a mob family. Her father, Phil Randall, was also a
cop, and he calls on Sunny to help investigate a case later on in the series ( Spare Change , the sixth
novel in the series).
Sunny also appears in Parker s Jesse Stone series of novels and Jesse in turn appears in some of the
Sunny books. This is a result of the two dating for a little while before they both realize that their
relationship just is not going to work. It is also a result of Sunny appearing in Split Image , a Jesse
Stone novel where she had a case of her own and carried a good portion of the novel all on her own.
Family Honor is the first novel of the Sunny Randall series written by Robert B. Parker and was
released in the year 1999. When Sunny Randall takes a case from a wealthy family so that she can find
their lost teenage daughter,

Art Based Education
William Bennet, the former US Secretary of Education, claims The arts are an essential element of
education . . . music, dance, painting . . . are all keys that unlock profound human understanding and
accomplishment (ilmea.org, 2016, para 11). The arts are a crucial component to the success of students
overall experience in the academic setting. Students exposed in the arts throughout their educational
experience endure more benefits then those who go throughout school with no exposure to them.
Schools must require creative art programs in the K 12 curricula, because of the academic, emotional,
and social benefits for students.
Discussion
Academic. The most important aspect of school is the academics. What if the arts contributed to the
academic benefits that students experienced? Arsenault (2009) describes how creative art programs
can work alongside school subjects and help benefit the students to prosper through their studies.
Research also shows that an art based learning achieve higher scores on academic tests (Miller,
Hopper, 2010). Miller Hooper (2010) note how students who experience an art program throughout
their school curricula demonstrate better academic success in all their subjects. Higher academic test

Ruppert (2006) concluded that students who participated in art programs for four years or more,

school and learn how to take risks they wouldn t normally take in the classroom (Ruppert, 2006). The
more motivated students are to stay in school and complete their education, the more likely they will

Intrinsic Motivation, By Daniel Pink
At the point when a person arranges or needs to accomplish something, he or she has a motivation for
that particular thing. As it were, the point at which a person accomplishes something, that person has a
motivation behind why he or she ought to do that thing. Not generally there is motivation to
accomplish something, yet in some cases might be numerous reasons that are support a person to take
those activities to do it. Two of those motivations which Daniel Pink discusses are intrinsic and
extrinsic motivation, and how they are once in a while consolidated together. Dweck in the other hand
thinks as motivation in another way by intelligence praise. To change, we need to have a goal and high

Essay about Choosing the Best Sound Format for Production
Choosing the Best Sound Format for Production There are many issues facing an audio professional
who is considering getting into surround production, either for music, film, DVD, Internet, or multi
media. Whether you are recording, mixing, editing, or mastering, there is a lot of information that you
need to be comfortable with before you can succeed in surround sound. Although this collection is a
good start, it is by no means an exhaustive list or in depth manual. Hopefully it will give you a well
rounded introduction and good foundation on which to build the pursuit of your goals.

Some Dolby certified film stages alter this slightly and reference the surrounds to 82db. You would
use pink noise and measure using C weighting and slow response. This is by no means a complete
guide to setting up the monitoring in your room, but it s the basics to get you started.
5.1: spoken as five point one . This refers to a surround sound format consisting of 5 full range
channels and one LFE channel (see the next entry). It consists of Left, Center, Right, Left Surround,
Right Surround.
7.1. This is reminiscent of, but not exactly the same as the old 70mm soundtracks. The current 7.1 has
L, C, R, LS, RS, and LFE like 5.1, but adds 2 more speakers behind the screen between the center and
left, and between the center and right. These are referred to as LC and RC, or Left Center and Right
Center. On large screens, this allows better tracking of dialog and effects, and more creative options
for the mixers and director. The original 70mm 6 channel soundtrack had five across the front like 7.1,
but no subwoofer and only mono surround. Some people have also suggested
LFE: Low Frequency Effects. Typically you use a subwoofer in this application, the point one of 5.1.
The channel does not necessarily have to be band limited, as in the option to use it as a height channel
in DVD A, but when used as an LFE, it is of course for low frequency information. It is a discrete

Differences Between The Princess Bride Book And Movie
The Princess Bride: Film Versus Novel
The novel The Princess Bride by William Goldman was published in 1973. The movie The Princess
Bride directed by Rob Reiner, released in 1987, Starred Cary Elwes as Westley and Robin Wright as
Buttercup. The Princess Bride is about the most beautiful girl in the kingdom Florin, Buttercup, who
falls in love with her farm boy, Westley. After Westley goes missing, Buttercup becomes engaged to
the prince, Humperdinck, by force. Buttercup is kidnapped by, a sicilian named vizzini, a giant Turk,
named Fezzik, and champion swordsman, named Inigo. She is reunited with Westley but is unable to
escape her engagement until she is finally saved. The Princess Bride movie, made very few changes to
the characters, plot, and theme of the novel. The plot of the movie is the same, and is in the same
order, as the book. In the movie Westley goes missing, Buttercup is kidnapped, and Westley saves her
from marrying Humperdinck. This is identical to the book, even the side plots in the movie are similar.

Narrative Essay On Normandy s Men
Ashley Nelson Mr.Showley English 11 14 December 2015 Normandy s Men Plot J, Row 11, Grave
16. I didn t understand what this list of numbers and letters meant at first but I do now. They are in
reference to a sea of graves, so white they swallow all colors of life. The green of the grass, of tree,
colors of the flower, are covered by a blanket of sacrifice. That is the American Cemetery in
Normandy, lists of numbers and letters that reference fathers, brothers, husbands, and loved ones. Men
that will never come home again, because they gave it all to protect a dream, a dream many never saw.
During a week in France with a school group, we dedicated a day to the men of Normandy. It was a
very wet day; the sky was overcast and freezing. We choose our first beach to be that of Point D Huc.
When we first arrived, the scene looked like a wild garden. As we started to walk down a set trail, I
started to notice that one plant in particular had grown completely out of control, barbed wire. It was
everywhere, erupting from the undergrowth. We struggles free of the wire, moving to the cliff front of
the beach. The first thing I really noticed was how the terrain didn t match with what we had ... Show

While we were pulling up to the beach, our attention was turned to the hills along the seashore. The
hills circle the beach, closing us in, as though it was a green barrier, keeping us isolated from the
population on the other side. As we arrived on the beach, erupting from the sand, was a huge steel
sculpture. There were five separate steel pieces that flashed against the sky like swords. These swords
stood for those who could not, they stood for my grandfather who had fought on the beaches and had
watched his friends get gunned down next to him. The water was so calm that it was hard to imagine
what it could have been like for him, watching tanks roll through the waves and constant chatter of

Different Sources Of Finance And Different Legal Systems

across countries (e.g. different sources of finance and different legal systems). In your answer,
summarise the differences and any similarities between the development factors of China and
Australia.
It seems that the key issue facing global financial markets and international investors is worldwide
accounting diversity as considerable differences exist across countries which inevitably leads to chaos
in global capital markets as different amounts are being reported on balance sheets and income

Source of funding is regarding who owns the shares in the most powerful listed companies within
each nation. The major sources of financing for business are either family members, banks,
governments, or shareholders (Doupnik Perera, 2012, p. 29). For example, due to being a communist
state with very little opportunity for private ownership, China s major company financing is
dominated by the Chinese government as well as their government controlled banks (Fernando, 2010).
This can be seen in one of China s largest companies, Petro China, as its controlling shareholder, the
China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), is wholly state owned (PetroChina, 2015). Sources of
finance from governments and their government controlled banks means that there is less pressure for
public accountability and information disclosure (Doupnik Perera, 2012, p. 29). In contrast, Australia
runs a free market economy where private business enterprises seem to dominate. This can be seen in
one of Australia s largest companies, BHP, who are privately owned by millions of dispersed
shareholders such as private investors, superannuation funds and corporations (Stockzoa, 2016). This
is important to note as more information is available and demand for disclosure occurs the more
privately owned companies are dependent on funding from the general population (Doupnik Perera,
2012, p. 30).

What Is The Tone Of Channel Frights Of War
World War 1 was a horrific scene, blood and death everywhere, dreadful gun shots sounded all around,
and bodies, one by one, fell. Frankly, it was not a place anyone would like to be at the time. During
the four year war, over nine million people were killed and more than 21 million individuals were
injured. There are many forms of descriptions and explanations, all over the internet and even in
libraries, of the war, however, William Butler Yeats and Thomas Hardy s poems are very well written
and descriptive works describing the combat. Throughout both poems, Channel Firing and The
Second Coming, the frights of war are explored, however, Hardy has a more humorous tone and wrote
about the war three months before it occurred, while Yeats tone is rather sinister, and was written after
war took place.

St. Margaret Of Scotland Essay
St. Margaret of Scotland was born in present day Hungary around 1046. She had two siblings named
Edgar and Cristina. St. Margaret grew up extremely privileged. She was the daughter of English
prince, Edward the Exile, and granddaughter of Edmund Ironside, king of England. She and her
family were very religious, as was the Hungarian court. Still young, Margaret moved to England with
her family. Her father died, therefore her brother was considered as a possible successor to the English

Aetiology
The exact causes of major depressive disorder are extremely complex and cannot be attributed to a
single genetic, social, environmental or developmental theory. It is a multifactorial and heterogeneous
disorder involving several factors which are simultaneously linked to the development or precipitation
of the disorder. The symptoms which are linked to the disorder reflect changes in the monoamine
neurotransmitters of the brain, more specifically noradrenaline, serotonin and dopamine. Variations in
the genes which are responsible for encoding serotonin transporter proteins account for early
childhood experiences being translated into an increased risk of major depressive disorder through

Banners, hospital curtains. tabletop displays, metal bakeware, protective barriers, non skid covers for
RV steps, aerospace parts, and fabrics are the common applications of an aluminum Grommet. Now,
you can understand how versatile this product is.
Why aluminum?: Well, we should highlight several properties here:
* Durability: When compared to steel, aluminum is durable and light weight. While it is difficult to
which is the best from aluminum and stainless steel, aluminum is definitely better than ordinary steel.
So, can be used for outdoor applications and for where water and moisture are present.
* Ductility: Well, this benefit is enjoyed by the Grommet manufacturers. When compared to steel,
aluminum is more ductile, hence easy to roll, processed, and stamped. In other words, aluminum
makes the manufacturing process easy and practical.
* Lightness: The high weight is the top downside of steel grommets. Aluminum, on the other hand; is
three times lighter than steel, making it suitable for applications where weight reduction is necessary.
So, installing 3 aluminum grommets adds the same weight as adding one steel

Literary Analysis Of The Second Coming By William Butler...
Humans crave validation and community yet rue the commonality of shared experiences with the
masses. As civilizations rise and fall, repetition permeates each rendition not only in their creation but
in their demise. In The Second Coming, William Butler Yeats, through allusions to biblical stories,
ancient cultures, doctrinal clairvoyance, and spiritual life conveys an understanding that mankind
holds much more power over its own story than the conscious mind believes.
For clarity, it is necessary to examine the concept of the Second Coming and it s value to Yeats s poem
as the speaker references it three times consecutively in lines eight through ten, Surely some
revelation is at hand; / Surely the Second Coming is at hand. / The Second ... Show more content on

It follows to question whether the Second Coming is truly the end of the world. Biblical Egypt as its
citizens once knew it ceased to exist, but the world in its entirety did not end. The Second Coming
may simply be the end of a particular culture and nothing more than an event feared by those directly
involved.
For religious folk of a Christian bent in more contemporary times, Egypt is often viewed in a negative
light and its rulers as oppressors of God s chosen people. Many people perceive it as simply the home
of the pyramids; seldom is it considered as a cultural powerhouse to those outside of the field of
history. The speaker in Yeat s poem alludes to Egypt through the image of the Great Sphinx in the
lines Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert / A shape with lion body and the head of a
man (13 14). The Egyptians were a brilliant minded people and knew much more than was attributed
to them in Biblical texts. The Egyptians believed that statues were vessels for the spirits of the
deceased and the Sphinx in particular was built for the Pharaoh Khafre. The speaker expresses an air
of empathy for the creature with but now I know / That twenty centuries of stony sleep / Were vexed
to nightmare by a rocking cradle (18 20). He forms a bond with the dead ruler and subsequently
illuminates a symbol that many of his religious contemporaries considered a devilish fiend. He sees

Stereotypes Of Fashion In The Victorian Era
She is doomed to her position in society: a slave to fashion, cosseted and striving to be pleasing to
men, whatever the cost. (V A date unknown?)
V A http://www.vam.ac.uk/content/articles/c/corsets and crinolines in victorian fashion/
Fashion in the victorian era is described here as a moment of restriction for women and therefore a
reflection of their place in society. Women s ability to perform everyday tasks and engage in activities
was jeopardised for the sake of the male invention of corsets, forcing women as the V A labels them to
be slaves of fashion. Imprisoned behind their clothes physically, resulted in their constrained role in
society. Now in the 21st century it may be argued that this issue is still relevant for modern day ...

Change Bruce Dawe
Change can be confronting and because of this we often try to resist it. However, we need change and
we must accept it, for without change we cannot grow. This confrontation of change, resistance and
final acceptance of change can be seen in the texts, Drifters , And a good Friday was held by all by
Bruce Dawe and 10 Things I hate about you by Gil Junger. All three of these texts examine the
process of change and the attitudes towards change. These texts all share simular audiences of
ambitious individuals striving for a better future. Drifters and A Good Friday was held by all both use

Analysis Of The Killer At Thurston High
The online documentary filmed by Frontline, The Killer at Thurston High, goes into the life of Kip
Kinkel, leading up to him killing his parents, two fellow classmates and injuring 25 more. This film
examines Kip Kinkel s life, looking for clues that lead to him committing this mass murder. Areas that
were explored such as his upbringing, social life, his hobbies, and events that led him to seeing a
psychologist for depression. All of these areas that the documentary covered show a gradual,
consistent build up in concerning behavior. This documentary shows that there were precursors
leading up to these tragic events like the Thurston High shooting and the list of troubling behavior that
can lead to this. A common focus that was brought up numerus times in the film was how Kip had
difficulty doing things, compared to his sister or other his own age. This was mentioned when his
sister was interviewed. She stated the Kip would get confused with certain letters. He was later
diagnosed with dyslexia and was held back in first grade in school. The result from Kip being held
back was began to have some resentment towards his parents. Also, that he was different from his peer
group and felt less equal due to being held back. This was the beginning of known areas of people
who commit mass murder. While in middle school Kip began to start getting into trouble in and out of
school. He was picked on in school. This lead to him wanting to take martial art classes even

Components Of Thermoregulation ( Tm ) Systems And The...
Phase change materials are widely used source of thermoregulation (TM) systems and in latent
thermal energy storage (LTES). PCMs capability to absorb and release large latent heat during phase
change transition processes provides a wide range of phase change temperatures for thermal
management systems. The incorporation of PCMs can achieve the same or even better performances
with a smaller volume. PCMs can meet the thermoregulation requirements of various applications.
Currently, the low thermal conductivity of PCMs (usually less than 1 W mK−1) greatly limits their
heat dissipation performance in thermal management applications. Currently main focus of research is
to increase the thermal conductivity of the PCMs. In this regard different kinds of materials such as
metal and carbon composites with PCMs are produced. The intensive experimental and theoretical
investigation are made to improve the performance of PCMs. This paper discusses in detail the
fabrication and thermal conductance measurement techniques, and mathematical modeling of PCMs
composites. Moreover applications of PCMs in TM and LTES system are also mentioned with
examples.

Pros And Cons Of Social Hierarchy Theory
This particular model is well established in today s modern communities. However, there are certain
disadvantages of the said model. It does not take into consideration social aspects such as standard of
living and the financial system as a whole. There are several other factors other than biological that are
responsible for an illness in individuals such as hierarchy and power that vastly affects a person s
health in today s world.
Hierarchy is defined as the categorization of collection of individuals in accordance with their
financial, societal and professional position in the society. Individuals are divided on the basis of race,
religion, class, ethnicity and many more factors which in turn have great impact on the health and
services provided to individuals in these distinct categories. Firstly, we will discuss social dominance
theory which was developed by Sidanius and Pratto in the year 1999. The theory describes the source
of societal hierarchies and how these classifications boost certain groups and adversely affect people
in particular groups (Moss, 2016). According to this theory, there are dominant and subordinate groups
and there exists inequality in both these groups. There are three different arrangement of hierarchy in
all developed economies on the basis of age, gender and subjective reasons such as ethnic group, race,
rank, belief and faith. There are five key determinants of this theory. To start with, governing groups
possess dominance over other minor groups. Also societal background greatly impacts these groups. It
is more prevalent in males than females and is affected by traits of people and socialization
happenings. We further discuss Karl max s theory of socialism which classifies individuals in society
into three groups namely upper, middle and lower class (Hierarchy structure, 2017). Normally known
as the Marxist Social Hierarchy, the said theory explains that the wealthiest individuals owning land
belongs to upper class, individuals who work for upper class and sells their talent in return of money
comprises of middle class. Lastly, less earning group with no property comprised the lower class.
There have been discrepancies amongst all these groups as far as health and health care

Ethanol Vs. Ethanol Free Fuel Essay
Ethanol is now found in most gasolines, except for the few and far between pumps that sell ethanol
free fuel. Ethanol acts as a filler in gasoline, because it is much cheaper than many gasoline
components, however it comes at a price because ethanol infused gasoline procures about 33% less
energy than ethanol free gasoline, dropping its competitiveness towards diesel even more. (Energy,
2015) Ethanol gasoline types include E10, E15, and E85. E10 represents gasoline with a 10% ethanol
content, which is the norm now for most gasoline types, and what will mostly likely be in normal
unleaded gasoline. E15, 15% ethanol, can only be used in flex fuel or light duty cars because it
produces not nearly enough power to run a large gasoline engine without major modifications.
(Energy, 2015) E85, meaning that it is composed of 85% ethanol gasoline mixture (51 83% ethanol),
and can only be used by special flex fuel cars designed to run off high ethanol content fuel. (Energy,
2015)
Gasoline continues to show an inferiority to diesel fuel in every category except for price, or so it
seems. The average price of gasoline as of now is under two dollars for the first time in 6 years.
(Energy, 2016) Gasoline usually is about 15 25 cents per gallon cheaper than diesel. For large trucks
with a 30 gallon tank, this can be a large difference in price that naturally make people wary of
purchasing a diesel vehicle. And with this natural disinclination towards diesel fuel, the world has
shied away

The Sarbanes Oxley Act Of 2002
On July 30, 2002, the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 was signed into law by the acting President George
W. Bush. The overall purpose of the Act was to protect investors by improving the accuracy and
reliability of corporate disclosures made pursuant to the securities laws, and for other purposes. (SEC,
2013) This Act mandated multiple amendments to improve corporate responsibility, enhance financial
disclosures, and combat corporate and accounting fraudulent practices. One requirement of the Act
involves a management s report on internal controls over financial reporting to be included in the
annual financial reports of a company. On July 30, 2014, the Securities and Exchange Commission
(SEC) announced that CEO Marc Sherman and former CFO Edward L. Cummings of a computer
equipment company named QSGI, Inc. are being charged with misrepresenting the state of its internal
controls over financial reporting to external auditors and the investing public. Inadequate internal
control within the company can be extremely detrimental because investors and lenders rely heavily
on financial reports to make decisions. The incorrect records of QSGI enabled the company to
maximize loans from their top creditor. This report will show how QSGI s lack of internal controls
hindered their ability to generate revenue and maintain one of the company s operation centers. So
what are internal controls? And why are they so important? Internal controls describe the policies,

to the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy:
Capsule endoscopy helps your doctor evaluate the small intestine. This part of the bowel cannot be

capsule endoscopy is to search for a cause of bleeding from the small intestine. It may also be useful
for detecting polyps, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn s disease), ulcers, and tumors of the small

Salvation On Sand Mountain Analysis
Salvation on Sand Mountain The climax of Salvation on Sand Mountain, author Dennis Covington s
account of his own exploration into the bizarre and small world of snake handling, is when Covington
himself takes up the snakes for his first (and last) time. As he describes in great detail, the experience
of snake handling for Covington was similar to that of an awakening. Covington felt no fear, as the
snake became an extension of himself and the entire room faded to white. As Covington begins to
come back into himself, the sound, smell, and heat of the church all return, and he hands the snake
back to Carl. The most climatic scene in the work ends. As I read this scene, though, my own views
and understanding of religion began to complicate because I am accustomed to thinking of religious in
the context of the quiet of the Catholic Church and not the chaos of the snake handlers church. Thus, I
also became skeptical of Covington s experience due to his previous affinity for danger.
Being a religious person, as I read, I compared and contrasted my experiences in church with those of
the snake handlers. Though there are distinct differences to contrast, when thought about more deeply,
there is also a similarity between the two denominations. The glaring differences include the snake
handling versus no snakes; the loud, chaotic music versus quiet, serene music; and the shouting and
proclaiming God s name versus quiet prayer to God. However, the one sentence that Covington wrote

to the extent of axillary node involvement, type of breast surgery, and radiation therapy, as these
factors decrease lymphatic drainage and increase stasis of fluid in the areas of skin and subcutaneous

Analyzing Sylvia Path s Daddy
Daddy Analyzation The poem Daddy by Sylvia Path is a very dark poem. The poem is about both the
narrator s father and her husband. The narrator must have relationship problems because she is very
conflicted in this poem. Both of these seem to have a struggling relationship with her. She compares
her dad to a number of things: vampire, devil, and a fascist. Throughout the poem, she only speaks of
her daddy and suddenly turns the table and starts talking about how she s killed two men. These two
men were both killed by the narrator. In the beginning, when talking about her father s death, the
narrator makes it sound like her just died of natural causes. But by the end it sounds like she killed
him and her husband. In this poem, the narrator had a struggling relationship with her father.
In this poem, the narrator goes back and forth about her relationship with her father. One moment, she
hates him and criticizes the way he treated her, and the next she praises him. In lines 65 67, Path

Naturalism In Long Day s Journey Into The Night
The trope of naturalism in western theater have readdressed the form of dramatic arts from the royal
narrative and biblical tales to stories of commoners that the audience can actually relate to. Naturalism
also allows the distinction of tragedy and comedy to dissipate by developing a plot that focuses on a
day to day occurrence. This convention is represented by playwrights who are writing in a more
colloquial voice with stories about the middle class or working class, and their struggles. Naturalism
gave birth to the works of Eugene O Neill and Edward Albee that pushes the nuance of
dysfunctionality and addiction to its extreme in works such as Long Day s Journey Into The Night and
Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. The two playwrights zoom in towards a domestic issue that were
driven a lot by each character s desire for happiness and the disappointment that are not being
expressed appropriately that drove them to an addiction as form of escape from the reality. The two
plays place a tragic maternal figure who escapes their unachievable idea of happiness through a facade
of lies in the forefront of the narrative. In Long Day s Journey Into The Night, Mary Tyrone s ideal
happiness comes from her sense of nostalgia and what defined her happiness when she married Tyrone
while Martha s imaginary son and her inability to face the reality of a dull life of being married to a
university professor are what became of her tragic downfall at the end of Who s Afraid of Virginia

Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard
I seem to have lost my sight : Nobility s Privileged Blindness in The Cherry Orchard
In Anton Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard, Lyubov Ranevsky loses her estate because she is unwilling
to resort to commercializing it and renting it out. Ranevsky tells Peter Trofimov, You see where the
truth is, and where untruth is, but I seem to have lost my sight and see nothing... because you re
young, because you haven t had time to suffer... You boldly look forward, isn t it because you cannot
foresee or expect anything terrible, because so far life has been hidden from your young eyes? (167).
However, in the play, Chekhov attributes the nobility s blindness to the romantic, superficial aspects of
their lives as members of the upper class. They hold on to their memories of the old social order,
refusing to accept the inevitable reality that the Cherry Orchard must be sold. Ranevsky and her
brother, Leonid Gaev, represent the blindness and backwardness of the aristocracy. They see the
cherry orchard from a nostalgic, romanticized perspective and remain stuck in their old, superficial
habits. The cherry orchard represents the old Russia where class was tied to land ownership and ruling
over serfs. Ranevsky and Gaev stubbornly cling to the past. They are unable to look towards the future
and face the fact that the cherry orchard must be chopped down. When she sees the orchard, Ranevsky
exclaims, Oh, my childhood, days of my innocence!... nothing has changed (149). She is wrong;

Immigration has, and continues to be, one of the most contentious issues in the United States (U.S.).
While some see immigrants as opportunistic thieves, others view them as enormous economy
boosters. Immigrants foreign born individuals often have to deal with the negative outcomes of anti
immigrant policies. These exclusionary laws not only increase racial prejudice but also make foreign
born individuals feel less valuable than their native born counterparts. The laws to some extent also

Consequently, this helps in sustaining the jobs of employees in those firms. Also, whenever immigrant
workers increase in a particular region, investors build new stores and restaurants, thus increasing job
opportunities.
In the past, an increase in the population of immigrants resulted in reduced wages for native born
workers in the U.S. Studies carried out by scholars indicate that a one percent rise in foreign born
individuals led to reduction in the earnings of artisans and unskilled workers (Abramitzky Boustan,
2016). However, recent studies have shown that the immigrant population brings more value to the
native born worker wage than harm. The foreign born workers typically possess a variety of skills and

Coming Of Age By Margaret Mead
Through Margaret Mead s ethnography, in the book Coming of Age in Samoa, we learn about the lives
of women in Samoan culture. Young girls of Samoan culture have very little freedom in the beginning
of their lives. Girls are expected to take care of the infants in their families until there is a younger and
more capable girl that can provide care. Taking care of the babies in the family is a Samoan girl s main
responsibility as a child. The author further explains, She also develops a number of simple
techniques. She learns to weave firm square balls from palm leaves, to make pin wheels of palm
leaves or Frangipani blossoms...But in the case of the little girls all of these tasks are merely
supplementary to the main business of baby tending (Mead 20). At a young age women are expected
to attain skills in certain household tasks that help provide towards their Samoan families.
Weaving is a household task that a Samoan girl is required to learn and become very skilled at. She
learns different techniques and styles of weaving which help Samoan families throughout their
everyday duties. Usually the older women of the household teach the younger girls how to weave.
When a girl is 13 or 14 she is expected to weave a fine mat. The fine mat represents the high point of
Samoan weaving virtuosity (Mead 24). This fine mat takes about 1 to 2 years to complete. Often these
fine mats are not finished until a girl is about 19 or 20 years of age. It is considered a

The And Its Effects On The Earth
Incas believed that before anything was created, there was a being called Viracocha Pachayachachi,
which translates to Creator of All Things . He then created everything in this universe and then he
created humans. When he created humans he gave them some rules such as there shall be no
quarrelling on earth. As they disobeyed this rule, Viracocha cursed the beings on earth. Some were
swallowed by the earth and some were swallowed by the sea. He then brought a flood that washed
away all the humans. After the flood Viracocha saved 2 humans who he called upon when he needed
help later on. Out from the dark depths of Lake Titicaca Viracocha bought eternal light to the new
earth summoning the sun, moon and the stars. Viracocha then created everyone differently. Some
women he painted as pregnant, some caring for their babies beside them and on each figure he painted
clothes so that they would continue to wear. He also carved out the different nations and tribes that he
wanted to exist. Viracocha then divided these stones up into separate groups and buried them in the
earth to wait for their command of summoning. After, Viracocha commanded his 2 helpers to travel
the earth to awake the people who were lying deep in earth in caves, streams, rivers and waterfall. He
sent one helper to east region and the other to west region. They were sent there to awaken the people
and inform them of the stories they have experienced. Viracocha then went to Cuzco. Along the way

The Evolution Of Abortion Laws And Regulations

The Evolution of Abortion Laws and Regulations
The examination of the development of social structures from the early twentieth century to the
present date reveals a significant change in the laws and regulations associated with the pro choice and
pro life debate. In the social hierarchy of humanity, the tasks, such as who is the main bread winner
versus who is the primary household caregiver, undertaken as belonging to the male or female have
remained constant, and therefore made the pro life argument one that has been quite difficult to
overcome. However, the established definition of the terms male and female regarding obligations,
duties, and expectations have been altered in recent years, which has allowed for new insights and
new attitudes towards what were once considered inviolate, unchanging norms in consideration to
how society used to view abortion laws and regulations. Half of the battle when it comes to abortion
laws and regulations comes from women s rights, and society s ideal view of them. This is why the
changes that took place in the beginning of the 20th century were so crucial. Early advocates of
women s rights, such as Mary Wollstonecraft, emphasized the education of women to make them
better wives and mothers (Wood 369). The political struggle to enfranchise women began in the
United States with the Seneca Falls Convention, which was the first women s rights convention in
1848. This

College Student Interviews
Results of the College Student Interviews
I conducted 5 one on one interviews with students who have completed their first year in college. The
idea was to find out how well they were prepared for the financial decisions that would be put before
them. Unlike the general survey, the interview allowed me to ask for individual input.
The first topic was preparedness. I asked if there was anyone who trained them about finances or talk
to them about money. They all answered they had received a little instruction from family and
nowhere else. An interesting fact was that the majority learned their skills from their mothers.
Next they were asked a question that was similar to the survey in the aspect of what are some common
items you purchase during a week. Gas, Groceries, and coffee were consistent answers here, although
school supplies were mentioned during one interview. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Three student answered they had to save money for school. Another one talked of medical payments
and medications. Finally, one student discussed the decisions that confronted her daily on eating out
vs. eating in, shopping, or saving for trips home. The common these for these decision was that each
one had to weigh what they knew against what others were doing. Peer and family pressure played a
part in each of the choices. I continued and asked how they would grade themselves on these
decisions. Only one said 5, the others graded 6, 7, 8, and 9. When asked to explain, the student whose
grade was 5 said she was caught off guard by ER trips and unplanned new tires for their car. The 9,
that student felt the decision was graded there because she was able to pay her way into summer
school without increasing her

Theme Of Duality In Romeo And Juliet
Duality is when one thing or idea contains two conflicting sides. Duality is a theme seen in both Jekyll
and Hyde and Romeo and Juliet. In both of these works of literature there are many different ways that
the theme of duality is displayed. There are also many instances in which duality is used in modern
literature and entertainment, the movie Split for example. In these stories the duality of human nature
is displayed by the characters and situations that are included. In the Shakespearean play named
Romeo and Juliet duality is displayed mainly by quotes and situations. At the end of the play prince
escalus says A glooming peace this morning with it brings (V iii 316). This quote shows duality when
it describes peace with glooming. This is an adequate example of duality because while describing
peace, which has a positive connotation, the word glooming, in which a negative connotation is used.
Another quote that displays duality is what Friar Laurence says near the beginning of the play Virtue
itself turns vice, being misapplied,/ And vice sometime by action dignified (II iii 21 22). Obviously
vice and virtue are opposite in nature, vice meaning something that is immoral or wicked, and virtue
being something that displays high moral standards. Comparing these two very different things gives
an idea of the dual nature of man. Duality is also used as a literary device that relates to irony. Irony is
when the expectation of something is different than the reality. Although irony and duality are not the
same thing, they are closely related as to how they are used, and in what situations they are used. The
following quote is an example of dramatic irony and duality, O son, the night before thy wedding
day/Hath Death lain with thy wife. There she lies,/Flower as she was, deflowerèd by him./Death is my
son in law; Death is my heir (IV v 41 44). This quote shows dramatic irony because Lord Capulet
believes that Juliet is dead even though we know that she is not; in addition it represents the theme of
duality because it is saying that juliet is married to death. Marriage is being represented as a good
thing, but turns into a bad thing when she is said to be married to death itself. In Romeo and Juliet
there

Student Voter Turnout
Intentions
The research team s question is why the student voter turnout is so low, and what can be done to
improve turnout among students. With this research question, the team wants to find out how involved
students are in the voting process while also determining the specific causes that are deterring or
moving students away from voting. The research team has determined that the low voter turnout
among students is an issue because this voting age is such a large group that it is now rivaling with the
Baby Boomers. However, even though that both groups are almost the same size, the Baby Boomers,
have a much higher voter turnout than Millennials (students). In the 2016 presidential election, the
voter turnout for Baby Boomers was 69 percent while the Millennial voter turnout was 46 percent
(Khalid 2016). The purpose of this research is to determine why this ... Show more content on

For the interviews, the purpose was to find expert opinions and conclusions to why the student voter
turnout is so low. To find these experts, the research team conducted two interviews with two different
political club organizations on Ball State s campus. The research team requested a representative from
each group that could provide an expert opinion that could aid in determining the answer for the
research question. The first organization was College Democrats and the other was College
Republicans. The research team thought it would be best if they got opinions from both sides of the
political spectrum to see if there were any difference in opinions. The last interview was conducted
with a Political Science professor from Ball State s campus. The research team determined that the
opinion of this professor could be key in determining the research question because of the professor s

The Years 1918-1939, Which Separate World War I From World
The years 1918 1939, which separate World War I from World War II, witnessed profound changes in
how technologically advanced military organizations would fight. In most of the cases, during
peacetime, military innovation, and technological developments played an empowering or helping role
in advancing profoundly new and more operative ways of fighting. In a narrow and strict sense, such
innovative improvements were revolutionary. The technological revolution reached the battlefields
and forever changed the way that armies required from the fragile airplanes and unreliable tanks of
World War I to evolve into more sophisticated weapons by the late 1930s. Amount military
innovations which influence the inter war period, we will focus our ... Show more content on

These principles are known as Die Truppenfuhrung and shaped the framework for the preparation and
conduct of ground operations during World War II. This studies emphasized friction and uncertainty. It
requires responsibility and exercises judgment for junior officers in the battlefield. It also focuses on
the greater use of armored combined to army capabilities on maneuver. Consequently, to the influence
of World War I boosted Germany to develop early by the 1920s the coherent combined arms doctrine
that focused on decentralization command and control or mission type orders, speeding, surprising, or
the aggressive exploitation of every weakness in enemy defensive systems.
One of the lessons learned after the first world conflict is the necessity of using the third dimension on
military operations. That assumption has been conceptualizing by theorist through doctrine and
implements differently from one country to another. The doctrine concerning air force warfare was a
direct influence of World War I as a revolution on this domain. The challenge of many military
theorists concerned the emergence of the aircraft as a weapon and the adaptation of this emerging
capability on military operations. One of the Airpower advocates Giulio Douhet consider the airpower
as a tool to use to avoid trench warfare and dramatically shorten wars. Thus, aircraft would attack an
enemy s sources of assets and it is the key to destroying the

Who Is Kneeling During The National Anthem
I disagree with the idea of kneeling during the national anthem. I disagree with kneeling because it is
very disrespectful to people who have served in the military or any other person who has served to
protect our country or keep our streets safe and fight for our freedom. Also, when anybody kneels
during any countries national anthem, it can make that person look bad and very disrespectful. When a
person kneels during an anthem, it make not only the person look bad, but it can lead to other people
to follow their example. This is what happened last year, when Colin Kaepernick, a quarterback for
San Francisco, started kneeling during the anthem. This led to other players all over the league sitting
on the bench or, in recent weeks, not coming out from the locker room all during the anthem. This is
protected by the first amendment rights, but it is not the smartest or most favorable way of expressing
yourself or making a statement. Colin Kaepernick stated that he wouldn t stand for a country that was
racist against people of color and different ethnicity . Kaepernick has a right to think and state this, but
he should not kneel during the anthem of the United States of America. Since all of this started up last
year, it has gotten even bigger during this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And when somebody does that, all of the people who aren t disrespectful, and all of the people who

general, or that you do not think that this country can change or meet the needs of it people. It will

Theme Of Nature In Lord Of The Flies
OF HUMANITY
One of the most important themes, in fact the major theme of the book is an attempt to trace back the
defects of society to the defects of human nature . The moral is that the shape of society must depend
on the ethical nature of individuals and not on any political system. William Golding uses Ralph and
Jack as the leaders of the boys to represent different leadership styles, in order to accomplish his
massage.Throughout the novel he uses symbolism that gives a reader better comprehension of his
ideas and concepts. The symbols, such as the conch, Piggy s glasses, the pig s head, and even the
signal fire, represent Golding s perception of the Second World War. ... Show more content on

Jack seeks for power above all other things. He is angry when he loses elections of leadership to Ralph
and continually spread his character in the group. His desire of authority and violence are closely
related, as both enable him to feel superior. The group is becoming involved in the casting off moral
restraint and embracing violence and savagery.
According to my perspective, Jack should have allowed Ralph to lead and help him through instead of
opposing him because they had the same obligation which is to get rescued. By so doing the instinct of
savagery and violence could have been avoided, to promote humanity among the group.
The values to be shown workplace is to promote Ubuntu, integrity, diversity respect for environment,
excellence and responsibility. These values are reflected throughout the novel using characters in Lord
of the flies. Firstly Ubuntu I would say is represented by Piggy as he did not have hatred against any
boy in the group. Sam and Eric showed Ubuntu when Ralph sneaked down to the camp at the castle
rock and they gave him food. Simon sitting between the twins and piggy wiped his mouth and shoved
his piece of meat over the rocks to piggy, Simon here showed Ubuntu as he sacrifices his own meat to

Should Creationism Be Taught In Schools
The objection to evolutionary theory and it s teaching began well over 100 years ago. Charles Darwin
proposed in 1859 that populations of organisms underwent evolution through a process known as
natural selection. Three years prior to the publication of this theory, in 1856, he wrote of creationists in
a personal correspondence (Darwin, 1856). The notion that scientific theory conflicts with and rejects
religious dogma has been a persistent, pervasive one. Religious organizations continue to push for the
acceptance of creationism or intelligent design in school today. Despite the numerous legal cases
brought to forth to force the teaching of creationism in public schools, we of the school board
maintain that creationism has no place within our schools. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The First Amendment states, in part: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof... (U.S. Constitution amend. I) In 1968, the Supreme
Court of the United States struck down several anti monkey laws that were passed in Tennessee,
Mississippi, and Arkansas in previous years, because they established a religious doctrine violating
both the First and Fourth Amendments to the United States Constitution , setting precedent for the
rejection of creationist thought in place of science (Epperson v. Arkansas, 1968, Edwards v. Aguillard,
1987). Due to governmental funding, public schools teaching creationism would be viewed as
advancing one religion over another and violate the separation of church and state. The filing of
several amicus briefs by 17 state academies of science and 72 Noble Prize winning scientists
purporting that creationism is comprised of religious tenets in the case of Edwards v. Aguillard only
added to the sentiment that intelligent design is for the home, not the school (Edwards,

Causes Of Vladimir Lenin
Vladimir Lenin was a Marxian idealist who devoted the majority of his adult life to bringing about a
Socialist state in Russia. His years committed to the cause would culminate in the October Revolution
of 1917, during which the Lenin led Bolshevik party would seize upon a weakened political regime
and institute themselves as the ruling authority of Russia. With Lenin leading the Bolshevik party,
eager to usher in the doctrine he had faithfully subscribed to and expounded upon for decades, his
dream of a Russian Socialist state was now a humbling yet exciting reality. How, then, did such a
Marxian purist fall well short of the utopian vision promised by his political ideology? Lenin s
inability to successfully implement the policies which would bring about the ever elusive socialist
utopia can be directly attributed to a variety of factors stemming from three root causes. The first, and
most damning, predictor of imminent failure was that, though Russia was ripe for revolution at the
time of the Bolshevik takeover, the economy of Russia was not yet ripe for the implementation of
Socialist ideals and practices. The second and third root causes of Lenin s ultimate failure are
byproducts of the issues that arose from the initial root cause just stated. Due to the impracticality of
full scale implementation of Socialist policies in Russia at the time, Lenin made the reprehensible,
though practical, choice to utilize dictatorial tactics of repression and force, often by way of

Task 1 In the case of Innostat, the main issue on the culture of the organization has led to a bad productivity and has affected its effectiveness and efficiency. This portrays that Innostat has overlooked the importance of culture which claims by Schein (2004) as powerful energy for the organization in order to reach the goals. Hence, Innostat is now struggling to bring back its innovating edge. By referring to the Burke Litwin Model (1992), it can be seen that there is an interconnectedness of four factors including leadership, culture, work unit climate and motivation which the effects will be analyze using the same model shortly. This kind of leadership promotes a culture of dependency toward the leader, hence blocks the growth of creativity, skill and knowledge of the employees. This is supported by the expert, Eckerts (Beer, 2006) who further states that charismatic leadership style like Jack has lose the creative energy of the employees. In addition to that, due to this leadership style, it does not promote the culture of cooperation, teamwork and trust between the top management and employees. Due to this culture, the work unit climate is affected as well. It can be seen that there is a weak cross functional collaboration among the departments since Jack s leadership. This is demonstrated by Jack, who goes directly to R D department for new projects without considering any discussion with other departments. Therefore, other departments do not functioning at their optimal level hence, it affects the organization effectiveness. Besides that, it is clear that Innostat employees only working within their own departments, and prefer to work on their achievements, hence prove that there is no common goal among them. • 4. Analysis Of The Movie Sunny Randall The Sunny Randall series follows main character Sunny Randall, who is a female detective. She was created by Parker so that Helen Hunt would play her in a movie, but it never happened. He kept the series going because his publisher asked him to. Both Randall and Spenser (another Boston detective that was created by Parker) have things in common, but also things that make them unique. There are six novels to the series. Sunny Randall is a private investigator in the city of Boston, and used to be a cop. She has a bull terrier named Rosie, is a college graduate, and she would like to be a painter. Randall also has an ex husband who is named Richie and Richie is from a mob family. Her father, Phil Randall, was also a cop, and he calls on Sunny to help investigate a case later on in the series ( Spare Change , the sixth novel in the series). Sunny also appears in Parker s Jesse Stone series of novels and Jesse in turn appears in some of the Sunny books. This is a result of the two dating for a little while before they both realize that their relationship just is not going to work. It is also a result of Sunny appearing in Split Image , a Jesse Stone novel where she had a case of her own and carried a good portion of the novel all on her own. I didn t understand what this list of numbers and letters meant at first but I do now. They are in reference to a sea of graves, so white they swallow all colors of life. In your answer, summarise the differences and any similarities between the development factors of China and Australia. It seems that the key issue facing global financial markets and international investors is worldwide accounting diversity as considerable differences exist across countries which inevitably leads to chaos in global capital markets as different amounts are being reported on balance sheets and income statements (Doupnik Perera, 2012, p. 23). Source of funding is regarding who owns the shares in the most powerful listed companies within each nation. The major sources of financing for business are either family members, banks, governments, or shareholders (Doupnik Perera, 2012, p. 29). For example, due to being a communist state with very little opportunity for private ownership, China s major company financing is dominated by the Chinese government as well as their government controlled banks (Fernando, 2010). This can be seen in one of China s largest companies, Petro China, as its controlling shareholder, the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), is wholly state owned (PetroChina, 2015). Sources of finance from governments and their government controlled banks means that there is less pressure for public accountability and information disclosure (Doupnik Perera, 2012, p. 29). In contrast, Australia runs a free market economy where private business enterprises seem to dominate. This can be seen in one of Australia s largest companies, BHP, who are privately owned by millions of dispersed shareholders such as private investors, superannuation funds and corporations (Stockzoa, 2016). This is important to note as more information is available and demand for disclosure occurs the more privately owned companies are dependent on funding from the general population (Doupnik Perera, 2012, p. 30). There are many forms of descriptions and explanations, all over the internet and even in libraries, of the war, however, William Butler Yeats and Thomas Hardy s poems are very well written and descriptive works describing the combat. PCMs capability to absorb and release large latent heat during phase change transition processes provides a wide range of phase change temperatures for thermal management systems. The incorporation of PCMs can achieve the same or even better performances with a smaller volume. PCMs can meet the thermoregulation requirements of various applications. Currently, the low thermal conductivity of PCMs (usually less than 1 W mK−1) greatly limits their heat dissipation performance in thermal management applications. Currently main focus of research is to increase the thermal conductivity of the PCMs. In this regard different kinds of materials such as metal and carbon composites with PCMs are produced. It does not take into consideration social aspects such as standard of living and the financial system as a whole. There are several other factors other than biological that are responsible for an illness in individuals such as hierarchy and power that vastly affects a person s health in today s world. Hierarchy is defined as the categorization of collection of individuals in accordance with their financial, societal and professional position in the society. Individuals are divided on the basis of race, religion, class, ethnicity and many more factors which in turn have great impact on the health and services provided to individuals in these distinct categories. Firstly, we will discuss social dominance theory which was developed by Sidanius and Pratto in the year 1999. The theory describes the source of societal hierarchies and how these classifications boost certain groups and adversely affect people in particular groups (Moss, 2016). According to this theory, there are dominant and subordinate groups and there exists inequality in both these groups. There are three different arrangement of hierarchy in all developed economies on the basis of age, gender and subjective reasons such as ethnic group, race, rank, belief and faith. There are five key determinants of this theory. To start with, governing groups possess dominance over other minor groups. Also societal background greatly impacts these groups. It is more prevalent in males than females and is affected by traits of people and socialization happenings. We further discuss Karl max s theory of socialism which classifies individuals in society into three groups namely upper, middle and lower class (Hierarchy structure, 2017). Normally known as the Marxist Social Hierarchy, the said theory explains that the wealthiest individuals owning land belongs to upper class, individuals who work for upper class and sells their talent in return of money comprises of middle class. Ethanol acts as a filler in gasoline, because it is much cheaper than many gasoline components, however it comes at a price because ethanol infused gasoline procures about 33% less energy than ethanol free gasoline, dropping its competitiveness towards diesel even more. (Energy, 2015) Ethanol gasoline types include E10, E15, and E85. E10 represents gasoline with a 10% ethanol content, which is the norm now for most gasoline types, and what will mostly likely be in normal unleaded gasoline. E15, 15% ethanol, can only be used in flex fuel or light duty cars because it produces not nearly enough power to run a large gasoline engine without major modifications. (Energy, 2015) E85, meaning that it is composed of 85% ethanol gasoline mixture (51 83% ethanol), and can only be used by special flex fuel cars designed to run off high ethanol content fuel. (Energy, 2015) Gasoline continues to show an inferiority to diesel fuel in every category except for price, or so it seems. The average price of gasoline as of now is under two dollars for the first time in 6 years. (Energy, 2016) Gasoline usually is about 15 25 cents per gallon cheaper than diesel. As he describes in great detail, the experience of snake handling for Covington was similar to that of an awakening. Covington felt no fear, as the snake became an extension of himself and the entire room faded to white. As Covington begins to come back into himself, the sound, smell, and heat of the church all return, and he hands the snake back to Carl. The most climatic scene in the work ends. As I read this scene, though, my own views and understanding of religion began to complicate because I am accustomed to thinking of religious in the context of the quiet of the Catholic Church and not the chaos of the snake handlers church. Thus, I also became skeptical of Covington s experience due to his previous affinity for danger. Being a religious person, as I read, I compared and contrasted my experiences in church with those of the snake handlers. Though there are distinct differences to contrast, when thought about more deeply, there is also a similarity between the two denominations. Secondary lymphedema is precipitated by an event causing blockage or interruption of the lymphatic vessels. It is a potential complication that may affect quality of life of patients treated for breast cancer. Life long risk factors of post breast cancer lymphedema are related to the extent of axillary node involvement, type of breast surgery, and radiation therapy, as these factors decrease lymphatic drainage and increase stasis of fluid in the areas of skin and subcutaneous tissues that drain to those regional lymph nodes. One complication of these treatments is lymphedema, a chronic health problem, troublesome to both patients and health professionals [5]. Lymphedema describes a set of pathological conditions in which there is an accumulation of protein rich fluid in soft tissues as a result of the interruption of lymphatic flow [46, 7]. The narrator must have relationship problems because she is very conflicted in this poem. Both of these seem to have a struggling relationship with her. She compares her dad to a number of things: vampire, devil, and a fascist. Throughout the poem, she only speaks of her daddy and suddenly turns the table and starts talking about how she s killed two men. These two men were both killed by the narrator. In the beginning, when talking about her father s death, the narrator makes it sound like her just died of natural causes. But by the end it sounds like she killed him and her husband. In this poem, the narrator had a struggling relationship with her father. In this poem, the narrator goes back and forth about her relationship with her father. One moment, she hates him and criticizes the way he treated her, and the next she praises him. • 38. Naturalism In Long Day s Journey Into The Night The trope of naturalism in western theater have readdressed the form of dramatic arts from the royal narrative and biblical tales to stories of commoners that the audience can actually relate to. Naturalism also allows the distinction of tragedy and comedy to dissipate by developing a plot that focuses on a day to day occurrence. This convention is represented by playwrights who are writing in a more colloquial voice with stories about the middle class or working class, and their struggles. Naturalism gave birth to the works of Eugene O Neill and Edward Albee that pushes the nuance of dysfunctionality and addiction to its extreme in works such as Long Day s Journey Into The Night and Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. The two playwrights zoom in towards a domestic issue that were driven a lot by each character s desire for happiness and the disappointment that are not being expressed appropriately that drove them to an addiction as form of escape from the reality. The two plays place a tragic maternal figure who escapes their unachievable idea of happiness through a facade of lies in the forefront of the narrative. In Long Day s Journey Into The Night, Mary Tyrone s ideal happiness comes from her sense of nostalgia and what defined her happiness when she married Tyrone while Martha s imaginary son and her inability to face the reality of a dull life of being married to a university professor are what became of her tragic downfall at the end of Who s Afraid of Virginia ... Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard I seem to have lost my sight : Nobility s Privileged Blindness in The Cherry Orchard In Anton Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard, Lyubov Ranevsky loses her estate because she is unwilling to resort to commercializing it and renting it out. You boldly look forward, isn t it because you cannot foresee or expect anything terrible, because so far life has been hidden from your young eyes? (167). However, in the play, Chekhov attributes the nobility s blindness to the romantic, superficial aspects of their lives as members of the upper class. They hold on to their memories of the old social order, refusing to accept the inevitable reality that the Cherry Orchard must be sold. Ranevsky and her brother, Leonid Gaev, represent the blindness and backwardness of the aristocracy. They see the cherry orchard from a nostalgic, romanticized perspective and remain stuck in their old, superficial habits. The cherry orchard represents the old Russia where class was tied to land ownership and ruling over serfs. Ranevsky and Gaev stubbornly cling to the past. The Value Of Immigrants By Danielle Muhammad Final Project: The Value of Immigrants Danielle Muhammad ENG325 Intermediate Composition Donald Olsen August 14, 2017 Final Project: The Value of Immigrants Immigration has, and continues to be, one of the most contentious issues in the United States (U.S.). While some see immigrants as opportunistic thieves, others view them as enormous economy boosters. Immigrants foreign born individuals often have to deal with the negative outcomes of anti immigrant policies. These exclusionary laws not only increase racial prejudice but also make foreign born individuals feel less valuable than their native born counterparts. The laws to some extent also justify the unequal treatment of immigrants (Almeida et al., 2016). Immigrants also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Almost every state had over a hundred thousand natives employed in immigrant owned firms with California recording 1.5 million workers (New American Economy, 2016). These firms have created revenues of over $4.8 trillion and provided work for 18.9 million people worldwide in 2014 alone. Researchers have often claimed that were American Fortune 500 companies to make up a country, their revenues would make rank them as the third highest gross domestic product (GDP) in the world. As consumers, immigrants create jobs by spending their salaries on products and services provided by companies in the U.S. Consequently, this helps in sustaining the jobs of employees in those firms. Also, whenever immigrant workers increase in a particular region, investors build new stores and restaurants, thus increasing job opportunities. In the past, an increase in the population of immigrants resulted in reduced wages for native born workers in the U.S. Studies carried out by scholars indicate that a one percent rise in foreign born individuals led to reduction in the earnings of artisans and unskilled workers (Abramitzky Boustan, 2016). Young girls of Samoan culture have very little freedom in the beginning of their lives. Girls are expected to take care of the infants in their families until there is a younger and more capable girl that can provide care. Taking care of the babies in the family is a Samoan girl s main responsibility as a child. The author further explains, She also develops a number of simple techniques. She learns to weave firm square balls from palm leaves, to make pin wheels of palm leaves or Frangipani blossoms...But in the case of the little girls all of these tasks are merely supplementary to the main business of baby tending (Mead 20). At a young age women are expected to attain skills in certain household tasks that help provide towards their Samoan families. Weaving is a household task that a Samoan girl is required to learn and become very skilled at. She learns different techniques and styles of weaving which help Samoan families throughout their everyday duties. Usually the older women of the household teach the younger girls how to weave. When a girl is 13 or 14 she is expected to weave a fine mat. The fine mat represents the high point of Samoan weaving virtuosity (Mead 24). This fine mat takes about 1 to 2 years to complete. He then created everything in this universe and then he created humans. When he created humans he gave them some rules such as there shall be no quarrelling on earth. As they disobeyed this rule, Viracocha cursed the beings on earth. Some were swallowed by the earth and some were swallowed by the sea. He then brought a flood that washed away all the humans. After the flood Viracocha saved 2 humans who he called upon when he needed help later on. Out from the dark depths of Lake Titicaca Viracocha bought eternal light to the new earth summoning the sun, moon and the stars. Viracocha then created everyone differently. Some women he painted as pregnant, some caring for their babies beside them and on each figure he painted clothes so that they would continue to wear. • 43. The Evolution Of Abortion Laws And Regulations Sam Wonson Mrs. Otto English II Pre AP 20 May 2013 The Evolution of Abortion Laws and Regulations The examination of the development of social structures from the early twentieth century to the present date reveals a significant change in the laws and regulations associated with the pro choice and pro life debate. In the social hierarchy of humanity, the tasks, such as who is the main bread winner versus who is the primary household caregiver, undertaken as belonging to the male or female have remained constant, and therefore made the pro life argument one that has been quite difficult to overcome. However, the established definition of the terms male and female regarding obligations, duties, and expectations have been altered in recent years, which has allowed for new insights and new attitudes towards what were once considered inviolate, unchanging norms in consideration to how society used to view abortion laws and regulations. Half of the battle when it comes to abortion laws and regulations comes from women s rights, and society s ideal view of them. This is why the changes that took place in the beginning of the 20th century were so crucial. Early advocates of women s rights, such as Mary Wollstonecraft, emphasized the education of women to make them better wives and mothers (Wood 369). The political struggle to enfranchise women began in the United States with the Seneca Falls Convention, which was the first women s rights convention in 1848. This ... • 45. Theme Of Duality In Romeo And Juliet Duality is when one thing or idea contains two conflicting sides. Duality is a theme seen in both Jekyll and Hyde and Romeo and Juliet. In both of these works of literature there are many different ways that the theme of duality is displayed. There are also many instances in which duality is used in modern literature and entertainment, the movie Split for example. In these stories the duality of human nature is displayed by the characters and situations that are included. In the Shakespearean play named Romeo and Juliet duality is displayed mainly by quotes and situations. At the end of the play prince escalus says A glooming peace this morning with it brings (V iii 316). This quote shows duality when it describes peace with glooming. This is an adequate example of duality because while describing peace, which has a positive connotation, the word glooming, in which a negative connotation is used. Another quote that displays duality is what Friar Laurence says near the beginning of the play Virtue itself turns vice, being misapplied,/ And vice sometime by action dignified (II iii 21 22). Obviously vice and virtue are opposite in nature, vice meaning something that is immoral or wicked, and virtue being something that displays high moral standards. Comparing these two very different things gives an idea of the dual nature of man. Duality is also used as a literary device that relates to irony. Irony is when the expectation of something is different than the reality. Although irony and duality are not the same thing, they are closely related as to how they are used, and in what situations they are used. The following quote is an example of dramatic irony and duality, O son, the night before thy wedding day/Hath Death lain with thy wife. There she lies,/Flower as she was, deflowerèd by him./Death is my son in law; Death is my heir (IV v 41 44). This quote shows dramatic irony because Lord Capulet believes that Juliet is dead even though we know that she is not; in addition it represents the theme of duality because it is saying that juliet is married to death. Marriage is being represented as a good thing, but turns into a bad thing when she is said to be married to death itself. In Romeo and Juliet there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I disagree with kneeling because it is very disrespectful to people who have served in the military or any other person who has served to protect our country or keep our streets safe and fight for our freedom. Also, when anybody kneels during any countries national anthem, it can make that person look bad and very disrespectful. Charles Darwin proposed in 1859 that populations of organisms underwent evolution through a process known as natural selection. Three years prior to the publication of this theory, in 1856, he wrote of creationists in a personal correspondence (Darwin, 1856). The notion that scientific theory conflicts with and rejects religious dogma has been a persistent, pervasive one. His years committed to the cause would culminate in the October Revolution of 1917, during which the Lenin led Bolshevik party would seize upon a weakened political regime and institute themselves as the ruling authority of Russia. With Lenin leading the Bolshevik party, eager to usher in the doctrine he had faithfully subscribed to and expounded upon for decades, his dream of a Russian Socialist state was now a humbling yet exciting reality. How, then, did such a Marxian purist fall well short of the utopian vision promised by his political ideology? Lenin s inability to successfully implement the policies which would bring about the ever elusive socialist utopia can be directly attributed to a variety of factors stemming from three root causes. The first, and most damning, predictor of imminent failure was that, though Russia was ripe for revolution at the time of the Bolshevik takeover, the economy of Russia was not yet ripe for the implementation of Socialist ideals and practices. The second and third root causes of Lenin s ultimate failure are byproducts of the issues that arose from the initial root cause just stated. Due to the impracticality of full scale implementation of Socialist policies in Russia at the time, Lenin made the reprehensible, though practical, choice to utilize dictatorial tactics of repression and force, often by way of ...
