How To Act Without Intention
Maddie Szewczyk
This week at Weil Elementary School I got the opportunity to interact with the kids much more than I
did in the week previous. The other Duquesne student that I am paired with and I assisted the teacher
by passing out papers, helping the kids sound out words, and helping the kids write the words after
sounding them out. I am really enjoying getting to know the kids better in through this academic
setting. Because I am getting to interact with the kids more and more, I am able to look back and
analyze which of my actions are done without intention and which are done with intention.
I believe that it is human nature for people to act without intention more than they act with intention.
This can be for many reasons, but I think that is the case because people tend to be more concerned
about what is of value to themselves, not what is of value to others. As nurses, I believe that it is our
responsibility and duty to act with intention in order to keep the patient at the center of care and give
patients the best care possible. Being in the school with the kids is the perfect ... Show more content

In class we have previously discussed different cultures and how to care for different cultures. Without
intention I tend to make assumptions and conclusions about the community as whole, the kids, the
teachers, etc. The community that I grew up in is primarily Caucasian and being in a setting with
mostly African Americans is a newer and much needed experience. In order to provide the best care to
the African American community, and all other communities, it is important to learn and understand
the culture. This is something that I am very excited about because I am very passionate about
different cultures and the inequalities that are ever present in the American Society. I believe by doing
this I will be able to reverse the assumptions that I make without intention and be more purposeful in
my interactions with the

What Is The Moral Satire In The Mysterious Outsider
In the Mark Twain story The Mysterious Stranger , Philip Traum, also known as Satan, teaches
Theodor that the Moral Sense that humans possess is more of an impairment than a gift. The first time
Satan degrades Man s Moral Sense is when he uses the term to explain the difference between himself
and Man. Theodor, who was ambivalent about what the Moral Sense was, became upset at the way
Satan speaks of it. Theodor feels offended at first, but then Satan s charisma and tricks gives Theodore
mixed feelings. To sway Theodor s feelings, Satan shows Theodor several examples of the cruel things
Man does that no other animal on Earth would do. Satan makes the claim that although man was given
the Moral Sense to differentiate between right and wrong, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Satan compares humans to sheep, and says that they mostly follow others and tend to
follow the aggressive and pitiless minority, afraid to assert themselves. Man s Moral Sense leads him
to follow others since he has the preconceived notion that if everyone does it, then it must be the right
thing to do. He explains that Man alone is kind hearted and shrink from inflicting pain, but in the
presence of the aggressive and pitiless minority they don t dare to assert themselves. He says that we
go to war for no apparent reason and it is unjust and dishonorable, as there is no necessity for it , but
Moral Sense drives us to it. Satan exclaims that Man is to me as a red spider is to an elephant . He says
that an elephant may live a century, while a red spider s life is rather ephemeral. Man may think that
Moral sense makes him above the other animals, and closest to God, but Satan explains Man is
nothing to him and he cannot get to that remote level of Man. Satan also makes the claim that the
distinction between Man and him is immeasurable as Man has no intellect. Moral Sense drives Man to
do immoral things, making him libel the higher

Analysis Of The Novel Moll Flanders
Moll Flanders did not start off as your typical story for a Victorian era novel. The Novel Moll Flanders
pushed the envelope and ultimately was a novel that assisted women in the progression of femininity
writing. There were undoubtedly other authors who assisted with this progression as well for instance,
Mary Wollstonecraft who publish later than this work, which could lead one to assume this work aided
her in doing so, so that in the future she would be able to publish her works which are well known to
many of us today. Although silenced through the forced submission of men, women were on the rise,
and in the process of demanding change not only in the literary world, but also the real world as a
whole; Moll Flanders proffers that evolution.
A key characteristic that made this story very prominent is that a man did this work. Which was rare
that a man at in time would provide such a ubiquitous feminine message that often times went
unheard. Daniel Defoe saw a reason to assert the voices of many women through this work alone.
Moll Flanders voice could ve been silenced like so many other women of this time, but instead her
raw, unearthing, and empowering voice was heard.
Dealt the wrong hand in life, caused Moll to look at the world in a different perspective than most
girls or women in her time. Not only was she living in a male chauvinist world, but she was also born
into a lower socio economic class. Moll came in this world with those two strikes alone against

American Involvement In The United States Essay
The role of the United States now should be less involved with other countries because the United
State gets involved with other places too quickly even if it is right or wrong. Our country also takes
land that will benefit us more than others all for the wrong reasons. Also we are going head on head
with other countries for power and while fighting for power other groups are evolving from conflicts.
The United States gets involved in other countries even if it is not necessary. According to Mark
Twain he once said that it is going against our traditions and we are entering in an unjust and trivial
war. This war is against helpless people and robbery. The United States should be ashamed about the
choices that we make and how we go through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We did this because we wanted to be able to trade sugar with them and have a navel base. Geography
Cuba was in a great location. In Fidel Castro s offer with the United States he said that the United
States should resume sugar purchase from Cuba. The trade between these two places turned out to
benefit both but without us taking control over Cuba and saying we were helping them then none of
the trade would happened. Once we came into Cuba to help we pushed the people in a portion on the
land they could have and took the rest for our own good.
In present day now we still have problems with power between countries now. In an article by Toby
Craig Jones he starts out saying how the in the Middle East the oil production has enchanted global
powers and the United States has been particularly powerful. It is surprising on how we are the ones in
power even though we aren t the ones producing the oil. All this oil production is happening in the
Middle East where Americans aren t really liked because we had troops their taking control of things.
From being over there more and more terrorist groups are rising trying to take over the power. All
countries are fighting for the same thing, power.
Overall, the role of the United States should be less involved due to past and present events. Not only
do we do thing for all the wrong reasons people still support them even of it going against their
morals. Please keep

Essay about Understanding Individual Resistance in...
Due to economic environment that is increasingly volatile, change is necessary and inevitable within
any organisation with resistance to change as a key concept (Hayes 2010). It s been suggested that one
of the main reasons organisation face resistance is due to Parochial self interest , whereby some
individuals are more concerned with their individual vested interest and how it will be compromised
when the change takes place (Agocs 1997). It s been suggest that the most important aspect of an
organisational change is to understand an individual resistance groups don t change, teams don t
change, and companies don t change: people change (Kotze 2006), hence individual behaviour within
the organisation determines the outcome (Hayes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also Agocs (1997) suggested that change need to be understood and managed in a way that people can
cope effectively with it. One ways individual may resist organisational change, is when an Individual
within a group selects information which reinforces their subjective belief, values and the status quo
or the change represents uncertainty, they fear the unknown or they are concerned about their own
personal failure (Kotze 2006). Hultman (1995 cited in Kotze 2006) argued that resistance consists of
two dimensions, active and passive. Passive resistance is displayed by behaviours such as public
support, but failure to implement the change, delaying, and withholding information or support. Active
resistance includes behaviours such as being critical, selective use of facts, sabotaging, and starting
rumours. Personal factors are potential source of resistance to change, habits play a crucial role in
determines whether the individual increases their resistant, in particular if they are deeply held habits
serves their self interest (Dennis and Garman 2010). Also, individual resistant can be stated through
false census, whereby an individual expresses their self interest visibly. Therefore, what is needed is to
question the basic underlying assumption that could be play a role in a supporting the individual and
group resistance (Kotze 2006). Also related to personal factors as sources of resistance to change, it is
readily acknowledged that

Essay on The Causes and Effects of World War I
The Causes and Effects of World War I In 1914 through 1918, the entire world was at war. Due to
many small, and some great incidents, the world powers went to war. During the war there were many
events that drastically affected the outcome. Some of these events were very influential. From the
assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand to the Treaty of Brest Litovsk, the war was shaped by
events like this. On June 28, 1914, the Archduke of Austria Hungary, Francis Ferdinand, and his wife
entered their car. About five minutes later a blast rang out. A bomb had been throw in front of his car.
A Serbian nationalist and member of the Black Hand, Gavrilo Princip, ran up to the car and, with two

On February 21, 1916, the Germans launched a major offensive under the command of Prince
Frederick William against Verdun. The Battle of Verdun had begun. The French soon lost Douaumont
and Hardaumont but were able to eventually stop the German advance. In July the British launched an
offensive on Somme which made the Battle at Verdun a little easier. By December the French had
taken most of the land they lost. The Battle of Verdun was the longest and one of the bloodiest battles
of the war. The Germans soon realized they couldn t kill enough French to win the war. They found
themselves losing as many men as the French. Over two million soldiers from both sides took part in
the battle. A combination of about 675,000 men from both sides lost their lives; 348,000 French and
328,000 Germans. On January 16, 1917, the German Foreign Secretary, Arthur Zimmermann, sent a
telegram to Johann von Bernstorff, the German ambassador to the U.S. The telegram said that if the
U.S. did decide to enter the war, Mexico should be asked to join as an ally to Germany. In return,
Germany would help Mexico regain Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. The British intercepted and
deciphered the message. They gave it to the U.S. government. On March 1, President Wilson released
the telegram to the press. A month later on April 6, the United States declared war on Germany and
officially entered the war. The U.S. gave the Allies much

Was King Arthur Responsible For The Downfall Of Guinevere
In the King Arthur legends, Guinevere was so much more than King Arthur s wife. She taught readers
lessons how to be a great wife but also how to be a unfaithful one. From the moment she met King
Arthur, she forever changed his kingdom and both of their lives for the good and the bad.
Throughout Guinevere and Lancelot s affair, Guinevere was blamed for everything. King Arthur
called her unfaithful, an adulterer, and blamed her for the fall of the Round Table. Although he was not
wrong to say these things about Guinevere, he never blamed Lancelot for the way he treated King
Arthur, his so called friend. All he ever did was fight him in order to win over Guinevere, but in the
end it was still Guinevere s fault that the whole affair had happened.

Media Cost
After the initial outlay for the drive, you ll be faced with the cost of the storage media the drive uses.
Keep in mind that what seems like a bargain may be a moneypit in disguise. For example floppy disks
are still the cheapest per unit media at approximately 50 cents each, but on a per megabyte cost basis
(around 35 cents per megabyte), they re the most costly form of storage. Also on the expensive end of
the spectrum are 640 MB, Mag Optical disks, at about 5.5cents per megabyte, and 1GB Jaz media at 6

Kinsey s Model Of Sexual Orientation
Kinsey s model of sexual orientation is based on a 7 point scale ranging from zero to six determining
how heterosexual or homosexual a person is. A 3 is right in the middle, being equally heterosexual and
homosexual, a 2 being primarily heterosexual but more than incidentally homosexual, a 1 being
predominantly heterosexual, incidentally homosexual, a 0 being exclusively heterosexual, and 4, 5 and
6, being the opposite of 2, 1 and 0. There is also an X, which is for a person who is asexual, someone
who doesn t experience sexual attraction. It is based on a series of questions that Alfred Kinsey came

Theme Of Supernatural In Macbeth And Julius Caesar
Introduction
In tragedies of William Shakespeare, themes and characteristic concerns of the author with human
nature emerge through a number of dramatic devices and defining features of his characters (Randell
1976). The supernatural, then, in the form of ghosts, visions, strange occurrences or witches, serves as
one of these dramatic techniques, presenting an underlying characteristic of several Shakespeare s
plays. This essay is going to discuss The Tragedy of Macbeth (1623) and The Tragedy of Julius Caesar
(1623), and their depictions of the supernatural, suggesting ways in which this feature is used and
explored. It will be investigated how characters and their deeds relate to the supernatural, and what is
revealed about human actions, their causes and implications. Thus, on the one hand, this text will
explore the supernatural as a defining feature that goes against established order, from social
stratification to societal understanding of evil. On the other hand, it will be argued that, in fact,
Shakespeare s supernatural elements move beyond the categories of good and evil, and tell the
audience something about human nature, as well as laws of the natural world that may very well
incorporate the concept of supernatural. Hence, it will be postulated that the idea of unnatural suggests
a further ambiguity between heroes and villains, free will and destiny, or nature and ... Show more

Nature is simply powerless to fulfill the Icelander s demands concerning the meaning of human
misery at the Nature hands, except using brutal realism:
You forget that the life of the world is a perpetual cycle of production and destruction, so combined
that one works for the good of the other. By their joint operation the universe is preserved. If either
ceased, the world would dissolve.
Since man is incapable to accept worthlessness, he will keep asking questions. At the end of the story,

Music. Long ago, it was nothing but a symphony of Neanderthals banging random objects together
and no one knows exactly where it originated from or who created it. However, what we do know is
that we have so much to thank them for. Of course, music has heavily evolved from cavemen beating
rocks together loudly and out of tune. In fact, music has become a major piece within the vast

Xero and McDonald s are two objects that will be analyzed in this essay. In terms of Xero, an online

1.5 Intensity of rivalry among competitors
Intensive rivalries are common in industries with many equally balanced companies. According to the

rivalry is based are not only price, but also switching costs. Low switching costs (i.e. low levels of
product differentiation) is another significant factor associated with higher levels of rivalry. Buyers
frequently purchase the product or service loyally when they find a unique product that satisfies their
needs. Although Xero intends to differentiate itself from others by providing related services, focusing

Hematoma Research Paper
Choice A is the best answer. All of the choices are complications of parathyroid surgery. The
development of an expanding hematoma in the pretracheal space has the highest mortality in
postoperative patients if left untreated as it compresses the airway. This complication must be
recognized and treated immediately by opening the wound and evacuating the hematoma. If untreated,
the hematoma may progress rapidly, causing airway obstruction. In contrast, most small hematomas
do not require treatment[1].
Choice B is not the best answer. After a 4 parathyroid gland exploration, calcium levels must be

Examples Of The Ferrmi Paradox
The question of whether humanity is the only intelligent civilization in the Universe disturbs people
for centuries. The first thing that comes to mind while talking about life on other planets is the
existence of aliens highly intelligent humanoids of extraterrestrial origin, which looks similar to
humans and are often associated with aggression against humanity. Of course, the story has a lot of
examples where a person had some experience of coming across the traces of UFOs or unusual
aircrafts, called flying saucers. Some skeptics still do not accept the idea that in addition to the people
in the world there is a high probability that in the universe there are other more sophisticated and
evolved beings. However, the question of alien life does not deal only with intelligent creatures as
there may be other forms of life, from bacteria to little primitive organisms. Taking these into account

population growth with the goal to lower population to a stable number.
Alexandra Paul stated that One of the advantages of having only a child in the family is the
opportunity given to the newborn of having a comfortable life. This is because all the attention, love
and financial resources of the parents will be enjoyed by the child. iii. Analysis: Having population

The Issue Of Colonization On The United Nations
In the words spoken by Albert Einstein, Given the millions of billions of Earth like planets, life
elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist. In the vastness of the Universe we are not
alone. , he states, that without a doubt, life does exist somewhere other than Earth, and as expected, he
was correct. Recently, a new planet has been found, and it has been discovered that this planet in
particular is capable of sustaining life. Furthermore, the United Nations are in the act of passing a
legislation that allows them to annex and colonize this newly found planet. However, this planet
already contains living life forms of its own. The fact that this new planet has its own living life forms
is astonishing, but because it contains living life forms I am against the U.N on their plans of
colonization on this new planet. When incorporating our past mistakes in history and comparing them
to our future actions, the process and outcome of colonization on both cases are particularly negative.
Moreover, if we were to imperialize this planet the chances of: cultural loss, death, and racism are
high. Given the occasion that the U.N does indeed decide to colonize this new planet, we would
definitely not respect the new life form s culture, and will most likely change their civilization to be
more like us. British rule in India is a great example as to why we should not colonize this new planet.
For instance, because of British rule in India, new machines replaced Indian

Around Seventy Eight Years Ago, World War Two Was Inevitable
Around seventy eight years ago, World War Two was inevitable and would last for six years, while
becoming one of the world s greatest conflicts. With the catastrophic effects of The Great War, the
further advancement of current technology and the advent of newer warfare, World War Two was set
to be the turning point of the twentieth century. The war caused the Berlin wall to separate Germany, it
indirectly caused the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union. World War Two s
legacy includes The Holocaust, the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and the first use of atomic bombs. The
United States use of the first atomic bombs has great complications, however the act is justified

Even so, many more could have died if bombs had not been dropped. Although the atomic bombs
killed thousands in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it is widely believed that if the bombs were not dropped,
many more would have died from air raids, and ongoing warfare. According to Michael Schaller, On
June 18 Truman approved plans for a November invasion of Japan on the assumption that the atomic
bomb would not be ready and it would be desirable to have Russian assistance. ⁶ Had this November
invasion happened, it can be concluded that there would have been a staggering amount of deaths, in
addition to the deaths that would occur from the air raids and other causes. After the bombs dropped,
Hirohito, the Emperor of Japan at the time said, prolonging the war would only destroy Japan and
threaten all human civilization. ⁷ However, prior to the bombs, the Japanese would have fought to the
death for their country and their pride due to their relentless fighting. Therefore, by dropping the
atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the U.S saved lives that would have otherwise been killed
in an invasion by the Allied forces. The lives that were lost in the bombs are a significant reminder of
how powerful that technology was.

Compare And Contrast Eukaryotic And Photosynthesis
When comparing photosynthesis and cellular respiration in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells you must
first understand what the two are and why they are important. Photo meaning light and synthesis
meaning making. So, photosynthesis is converting sunlight into a chemical energy source. Mostly to
obtain energy is its main purpose, but there is a formula to follow when dealing with photosynthesis.
The formula is carbon dioxide plus water with the presence of chlorophyll and sunlight reacting to
glucose giving you glucose, water, and oxygen. There are two stages of photosynthesis and they are
light dependent and the light independent meaning exactly what they sound like one is dependent on
sunlight and the other simply doesn t need sunlight. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Or receive energy. The process of occurs when plants absorb energy from the sun then that energy is
transferred to humans and animals. Photosynthesis occurs in eukaryotic cells by Chloroplast.
Chloroplast is known as plastid meaning storing materials for energy production. Chloroplasts main
job is for making amino acids and lipids needed for production. Algae is a good example of where you
can find chloroplast. When looking at chloroplast the appearance would be a green pigment known as
chlorophyll. Chlorophyll absorbs light energy for production. In plant chloroplast which are
commonly found in plant leaves have different structures each of them being important. The
membrane envelope contains lipids for protection, and keeping chloroplast closed regulates what goes
in and out of the cell. The system that converts light energy to chemical energy is through the function
thylakoid system. The fluid that is inside the membrane envelope and the outside of the thylakoid is
called the stroma. The chloroplast has mainly two steps in the process of photosynthesis in plant cells.
The first one is energy transferring known as the light dependent or light reactions. the second step is
carbon fixation reactions known as the dark reactions. The three products of energy transfer are

Mufass My Hero
Nobody ever really cared about my story. Everyone just thinks I am a brother killer, when really I
couldn t do anything to help him on that cliff. It all started when we were younger, my older brother
Mufassa always was my father s favorite. My father was trying to figure out who would be King, who
had the power and the courage, and the strength to run the desert. Well of course he chose Mufassa.
He was older, stronger, and much wiser. Now, that my father is dead, Mufassa has been king for quite
some time, and he just had a son named Simba... he was a handful. So Mufassa was stepping down as
king. It came time for Mufassa to choose who would run the desert, and I was ready to be King. On
the day Mufassa was declaring a new king, he ordered everyone to the priderock, and he announced
Simba would be King! WHAT! Simba is way too young, unintelligent, and way too weak to run the
desert I told Mufassa. I should have known, my brother always hated me and would do anything in his

The Benefits of a Gender-Neutral Housing Facility
Introduction There are at least 54 universities and colleges which have, in the past 10 years, instated
the gender neutral housing and option for the students (National Student, 2012). These options have
been implemented in various different ways in the colleges and universities. There are universities
such as the Brandeis University that only provides the upper class students with the option of gender
neutral housing whereas, in the Hampshire College, students from any year can have any roommate
that they want even if they are from the opposite sex. Rutgers University also allows the upper class
students with the option of living in gender neutral housing; this option was implemented in the
university after a student committed suicide as he was being victimized by a homophobic. In case of
Harvard University only the self identified transgender students are allowed to live in the gender
neutral houses. The possible reason for this increasing trend of gender neutral housing in many
colleges and universities is the fact that these universities have accepted the fact that the sex
segregated housing can t fulfill the needs of all the students studying and living there (Students for a
Democratic Society, 2012). This paper thus analyzes the impact that the growing popularity of gender
neutral housings has had on the overall academic environment. The gender group chosen for this paper
is the stereotypes of the self identified homosexuals. What are the advantages and

The Psychology Of Self Esteem
Furthermore, the effects of these awards go far beyond sports and contests. Being awarded at such a
young age for just about anything is highly misleading of how the real world works. Many young
Americans have developed a sense of entitlement, expecting to gain more in return for less effort. Per
a study done by Bernard Goldberg approximately one out of every three college students believes they
deserve a B just for attending their courses. This sense of privilege is an almost contagious mind set
that has only gotten worse. But many ask how exactly the idea that one should be rewarded for almost
anything began?
The self esteem movement was developed in 1969 after Nathaniel Branden wrote The Psychology of
Self Esteem. The idea Branden proposed was that self esteem is essential to overall success in life.
This caused many parents to believe that, if they could start by increasing their children s self esteem
they would become more successful in the future. This brought up ideas intended to help children gain
more confidence and self worth. For example, all children should receive participation awards so that
no child would feel bad for not winning. Consequently, studies have found that children s self image
may be negatively impacted by the ideas behind participation trophies and awards. Yet, parents still
encourage rewards be given to all children.
There seem to be two obvious reasons why parents want their children to receive trophies. One, they
are terrified of how

Insert Title Before the Market Revolution, America as a whole differed greatly from the America that
had developed during the start of the 19th century. The ideals and values of an American family life
varied from those after the revolution. American economy had relied heavily on agriculture and people
had a more personal work sphere. The government as well, was cautious when involving itself in the
nation s economic affairs. The Market Revolution overall played a big role in changing American
society, economy, and politics by fueling sectionalism, increasing commercialism, and forcing the

In general, the government helped promote and support businesses in order to advance the U.S. s
economy. Some examples would be the fact that they limited liability and incorporation laws using
charters to protect businesses, provided easy credit for loans, and supported entrepreneurs. This type
of involvement is what closely relates the changes in politics to the changes in economy. Most of the
government s involvement came through the American System. Developed by Congressman Henry
Clay, this system was meant to protect the U.S. industry with tariffs, initiate internal improvements,
and stabilize the economy. Clay s first part of the plan was to put protective tariffs primarily on
European goods. The total value of foreign exports to the U.S. escalated dramatically in only two
years, going from about $13 million (1814) to $151 million (1816). British goods had unbeatable
prices and the competition threatened to eliminate American businesses. In order to prevent this from
happening Clay decided to place taxes on imports which would ultimately raise European costs to
American consumers, shielding the U.S. so they could survive the competition. Now that Clay had
established a safer way to have the government support the U.S. s foreign affairs, his second part of
the system involved domestic improvement. By the 1820 s, the controversial issue on whether
Congress had the power to nationally finance roads, bridges, harbors, canals, and railroads had finally
eased up. Skeptics like Presidents James Madison and Monroe had finally softened up and agreed that
the government should play a larger role in building the nation s infrastructure (Politics in the Market
Revolution). They did this by making funds accessible to the states as well as coordinating the
projects, a good example

William Blake Literary Analysis
What is now proved was once only imagined.
(Ed. Mason, Michael. William Blake: Selected Poetry. Oxford World Classics, 2008.)
This paper started with a quote which mainly emphasize on the power of imagination. The line which
is quoted above, said by one of the early romantic poet, one who never went to university, never took
opium, did not end up his life in a very tender age, never left England, did not went on any Grand tour
in his life span, did not have any illicit or failed affairs or relationships, had no one who would call
him father and unfortunately never got the fame during his own lifetime. He is the one, who shine out
like a star whenever one talks about Mysticism and Imagination in English Literature, William Blake.
What he says about Imagination is
The Imagination is not a state: it is the human existence itself.
(Damon, Samuel Foster. Ed. Eaves Morris. A Blake Dictionary: The Ideas and Symbol Of William
Blake. UPNE, 1988.)
After reading his thoughts about imagination and the power of imagination one could able to
recognize that he believes in the imaginary world around him. He talks about angels and God like
figures which could be seen by him only, which proves him as true mystic.
After knowing the fact that he was a mystic, the next questions which struck the minds is what is
Mysticism? What is so fascinating in mysticism which makes him a mystic?
Here is the answer, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, Mysticism is a Belief that union with
or absorption into the deity or the absolute, or the spiritual apprehension of knowledge inaccessible to
the intellect, may be attained through contemplation and self surrender . It also comes with another
definition which says, Vague or ill defined religious or spiritual belief, especially a belief in the occult
. So, basically it is somehow related to the kind of religious beliefs a person have. Actually, Blake was
a non conformist. Non conformism refers in history to religious groups that had alienated from the
Church of England in the course of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Such people had groups
like Baptists, Methodists, Puritans, Quakers and Unitarians. Few researchers believe that his parents
were Swedenborgians or readers

Analysis Of No Firemen At Ground Zero By Michael Burke
In the article No Firemen at Ground Zero This 9/11? , Michael Burke uses multiple techniques to
persuade his audience of the injustice committed against the first responders of 9/11 by excluding
them from the 10 year anniversary at Ground Zero. Burke works towards the goal of having first
responders be included in the memorial at Ground Zero, after Mayor Bloomberg claims there isn t
enough room. Throughout the piece, Burke targets his argument at the influential readers of the Wall

As Burke eventually does argue that first responders should be included in the memorial, he makes
sure to point out that denying them the privilege of coming to the memorial would deny the first
responders their due and proper honor .This would not be as impactful if Burke would not have started
his piece by emphasizing the horrors that the first responders voluntarily walked into. By organizing
the piece the way Burke did, it allowed him to shape the reader s viewpoint of first responders before
he even began arguing his point that first responders must be honored at Ground Zero on the ten year
anniversary of 9/11. Another powerful technique that Burke uses to persuade his audience is he uses
quotes. Burke uses quotes from people who were at the scene of 9/11 themselves. Burke quotes a
woman who was descending from the 89th floor who said When I saw the firemen I knew we would
be all right. By using quotes like this, Burke shows the emotional reinsurance that the first responders
gave to the people involved in the attack. By showing the emotional response to the first responders, it
makes the reader clearly see the importance of the presence of first responders on the scene and the
impact they had on the victims. The first responders altered the emotional atmosphere of the scene.
This shows the significant of the first responders at the scene and how discluding them from the
memorial is atrocious . Quotes worked hand

how packed such a small piece of literature is. The major theme the story revolves around is the
oppressive views of marriage that the main character, Mrs. Mallard experiences in the latter part of the

Development Of Novel Chemotherapy Drug Delivery Systems
Abstract:
In order to improve current chemotherapeutic treatments, the development of novel chemotherapy
drug delivery systems that increase the local effect of therapeutic drugs while at the same time reduce
toxicity and side effects for patients is needed. Upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) can be
successfully used for photocontrolled targeting, bioimaging and chemotherapy. When illuminated with
near infrared (NIR) light, the UCNPs can specifically release the chemotherapeutic drug in the
malignant tumor cells. Based on the phototargeting approach, the UCNPs can serve as the vehicle to
selectively deliver chemotherapeutic drugs and possibly reducing the adverse effects from
chemotherapy.

Patients suffer from poor quality of life while in treatment and even after the treatment has finished.
Therefore, there is a need to develop new cancer therapeutics that are efficient, by minimizing toxicity
and increase the local effective effect of chemotherapy drugs, at reasonable cost and provide patients
with a high quality of life. In the past two decades, the use of nanoparticles, such as liposomes and
polymeric nanoparticles, to deliver drugs into the human body has revolutionized the medical field.
The advantages of nanoparticle drug delivery system include the drug s longer circulation half life,
reduced side effects and improved pharmacokinetics.5 As a result, the emergence of a new field of

  • 2. How To Act Without Intention Maddie Szewczyk This week at Weil Elementary School I got the opportunity to interact with the kids much more than I did in the week previous. The other Duquesne student that I am paired with and I assisted the teacher by passing out papers, helping the kids sound out words, and helping the kids write the words after sounding them out. I am really enjoying getting to know the kids better in through this academic setting. Because I am getting to interact with the kids more and more, I am able to look back and analyze which of my actions are done without intention and which are done with intention. I believe that it is human nature for people to act without intention more than they act with intention. This can be for many reasons, but I think that is the case because people tend to be more concerned about what is of value to themselves, not what is of value to others. As nurses, I believe that it is our responsibility and duty to act with intention in order to keep the patient at the center of care and give patients the best care possible. Being in the school with the kids is the perfect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In class we have previously discussed different cultures and how to care for different cultures. Without intention I tend to make assumptions and conclusions about the community as whole, the kids, the teachers, etc. The community that I grew up in is primarily Caucasian and being in a setting with mostly African Americans is a newer and much needed experience. In order to provide the best care to the African American community, and all other communities, it is important to learn and understand the culture. This is something that I am very excited about because I am very passionate about different cultures and the inequalities that are ever present in the American Society. I believe by doing this I will be able to reverse the assumptions that I make without intention and be more purposeful in my interactions with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. What Is The Moral Satire In The Mysterious Outsider In the Mark Twain story The Mysterious Stranger , Philip Traum, also known as Satan, teaches Theodor that the Moral Sense that humans possess is more of an impairment than a gift. The first time Satan degrades Man s Moral Sense is when he uses the term to explain the difference between himself and Man. Theodor, who was ambivalent about what the Moral Sense was, became upset at the way Satan speaks of it. Theodor feels offended at first, but then Satan s charisma and tricks gives Theodore mixed feelings. To sway Theodor s feelings, Satan shows Theodor several examples of the cruel things Man does that no other animal on Earth would do. Satan makes the claim that although man was given the Moral Sense to differentiate between right and wrong, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, Satan compares humans to sheep, and says that they mostly follow others and tend to follow the aggressive and pitiless minority, afraid to assert themselves. Man s Moral Sense leads him to follow others since he has the preconceived notion that if everyone does it, then it must be the right thing to do. He explains that Man alone is kind hearted and shrink from inflicting pain, but in the presence of the aggressive and pitiless minority they don t dare to assert themselves. He says that we go to war for no apparent reason and it is unjust and dishonorable, as there is no necessity for it , but Moral Sense drives us to it. Satan exclaims that Man is to me as a red spider is to an elephant . He says that an elephant may live a century, while a red spider s life is rather ephemeral. Man may think that Moral sense makes him above the other animals, and closest to God, but Satan explains Man is nothing to him and he cannot get to that remote level of Man. Satan also makes the claim that the distinction between Man and him is immeasurable as Man has no intellect. Moral Sense drives Man to do immoral things, making him libel the higher ... • 4. Analysis Of The Novel Moll Flanders Moll Flanders did not start off as your typical story for a Victorian era novel. The Novel Moll Flanders pushed the envelope and ultimately was a novel that assisted women in the progression of femininity writing. There were undoubtedly other authors who assisted with this progression as well for instance, Mary Wollstonecraft who publish later than this work, which could lead one to assume this work aided her in doing so, so that in the future she would be able to publish her works which are well known to many of us today. Although silenced through the forced submission of men, women were on the rise, and in the process of demanding change not only in the literary world, but also the real world as a whole; Moll Flanders proffers that evolution. A key characteristic that made this story very prominent is that a man did this work. Which was rare that a man at in time would provide such a ubiquitous feminine message that often times went unheard. Daniel Defoe saw a reason to assert the voices of many women through this work alone. Moll Flanders voice could ve been silenced like so many other women of this time, but instead her raw, unearthing, and empowering voice was heard. Dealt the wrong hand in life, caused Moll to look at the world in a different perspective than most girls or women in her time. Not only was she living in a male chauvinist world, but she was also born into a lower socio economic class. Moll came in this world with those two strikes alone against ... • 5. American Involvement In The United States Essay The role of the United States now should be less involved with other countries because the United State gets involved with other places too quickly even if it is right or wrong. Our country also takes land that will benefit us more than others all for the wrong reasons. • 6. Essay about Understanding Individual Resistance in... Due to economic environment that is increasingly volatile, change is necessary and inevitable within any organisation with resistance to change as a key concept (Hayes 2010). It s been suggested that one of the main reasons organisation face resistance is due to Parochial self interest , whereby some individuals are more concerned with their individual vested interest and how it will be compromised when the change takes place (Agocs 1997). It s been suggest that the most important aspect of an organisational change is to understand an individual resistance groups don t change, teams don t change, and companies don t change: people change (Kotze 2006), hence individual behaviour within the organisation determines the outcome (Hayes ... One ways individual may resist organisational change, is when an Individual within a group selects information which reinforces their subjective belief, values and the status quo or the change represents uncertainty, they fear the unknown or they are concerned about their own personal failure (Kotze 2006). Hultman (1995 cited in Kotze 2006) argued that resistance consists of two dimensions, active and passive. Passive resistance is displayed by behaviours such as public support, but failure to implement the change, delaying, and withholding information or support. Active resistance includes behaviours such as being critical, selective use of facts, sabotaging, and starting rumours. Personal factors are potential source of resistance to change, habits play a crucial role in determines whether the individual increases their resistant, in particular if they are deeply held habits serves their self interest (Dennis and Garman 2010). Also, individual resistant can be stated through false census, whereby an individual expresses their self interest visibly. Therefore, what is needed is to question the basic underlying assumption that could be play a role in a supporting the individual and group resistance (Kotze 2006). Due to many small, and some great incidents, the world powers went to war. During the war there were many events that drastically affected the outcome. Some of these events were very influential. From the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand to the Treaty of Brest Litovsk, the war was shaped by events like this. On June 28, 1914, the Archduke of Austria Hungary, Francis Ferdinand, and his wife entered their car. About five minutes later a blast rang out. A bomb had been throw in front of his car. By December the French had taken most of the land they lost. The Battle of Verdun was the longest and one of the bloodiest battles of the war. The Germans soon realized they couldn t kill enough French to win the war. They found themselves losing as many men as the French. Over two million soldiers from both sides took part in the battle. In return, Germany would help Mexico regain Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. The British intercepted and deciphered the message. They gave it to the U.S. government. • 15. Theme Of Supernatural In Macbeth And Julius Caesar Introduction In tragedies of William Shakespeare, themes and characteristic concerns of the author with human nature emerge through a number of dramatic devices and defining features of his characters (Randell 1976). The supernatural, then, in the form of ghosts, visions, strange occurrences or witches, serves as one of these dramatic techniques, presenting an underlying characteristic of several Shakespeare s plays. This essay is going to discuss The Tragedy of Macbeth (1623) and The Tragedy of Julius Caesar (1623), and their depictions of the supernatural, suggesting ways in which this feature is used and explored. It will be investigated how characters and their deeds relate to the supernatural, and what is revealed about human actions, their causes and implications. Thus, on the one hand, this text will explore the supernatural as a defining feature that goes against established order, from social stratification to societal understanding of evil. On the other hand, it will be argued that, in fact, Shakespeare s supernatural elements move beyond the categories of good and evil, and tell the audience something about human nature, as well as laws of the natural world that may very well incorporate the concept of supernatural. Hence, it will be postulated that the idea of unnatural suggests a further ambiguity between heroes and villains, free will and destiny, or nature and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that this new planet has its own living life forms is astonishing, but because it contains living life forms I am against the U.N on their plans of colonization on this new planet. Moreover, if we were to imperialize this planet the chances of: cultural loss, death, and racism are high. • 26. Mufass My Hero Nobody ever really cared about my story. Everyone just thinks I am a brother killer, when really I couldn t do anything to help him on that cliff. It all started when we were younger, my older brother Mufassa always was my father s favorite. My father was trying to figure out who would be King, who had the power and the courage, and the strength to run the desert. Well of course he chose Mufassa. He was older, stronger, and much wiser. Now, that my father is dead, Mufassa has been king for quite some time, and he just had a son named Simba... he was a handful. So Mufassa was stepping down as king. It came time for Mufassa to choose who would run the desert, and I was ready to be King. On the day Mufassa was declaring a new king, he ordered everyone to the priderock, and he announced Simba would be King! WHAT! Simba is way too young, unintelligent, and way too weak to run the desert I told Mufassa. I should have known, my brother always hated me and would do anything in his power to make me leave the desert. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 27. The Benefits of a Gender-Neutral Housing Facility Introduction There are at least 54 universities and colleges which have, in the past 10 years, instated the gender neutral housing and option for the students (National Student, 2012). These options have been implemented in various different ways in the colleges and universities. There are universities such as the Brandeis University that only provides the upper class students with the option of gender neutral housing whereas, in the Hampshire College, students from any year can have any roommate that they want even if they are from the opposite sex. Rutgers University also allows the upper class students with the option of living in gender neutral housing; this option was implemented in the university after a student committed suicide as he was being victimized by a homophobic. In case of Harvard University only the self identified transgender students are allowed to live in the gender neutral houses. The possible reason for this increasing trend of gender neutral housing in many colleges and universities is the fact that these universities have accepted the fact that the sex segregated housing can t fulfill the needs of all the students studying and living there (Students for a Democratic Society, 2012). This paper thus analyzes the impact that the growing popularity of gender neutral housings has had on the overall academic environment. The gender group chosen for this paper is the stereotypes of the self identified homosexuals. What are the advantages and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. The Psychology Of Self Esteem Furthermore, the effects of these awards go far beyond sports and contests. Being awarded at such a young age for just about anything is highly misleading of how the real world works. Many young Americans have developed a sense of entitlement, expecting to gain more in return for less effort. Per a study done by Bernard Goldberg approximately one out of every three college students believes they deserve a B just for attending their courses. This sense of privilege is an almost contagious mind set that has only gotten worse. But many ask how exactly the idea that one should be rewarded for almost anything began? The self esteem movement was developed in 1969 after Nathaniel Branden wrote The Psychology of Self Esteem. The idea Branden proposed was that self esteem is essential to overall success in life. This caused many parents to believe that, if they could start by increasing their children s self esteem they would become more successful in the future. This brought up ideas intended to help children gain more confidence and self worth. For example, all children should receive participation awards so that no child would feel bad for not winning. Consequently, studies have found that children s self image may be negatively impacted by the ideas behind participation trophies and awards. Yet, parents still encourage rewards be given to all children. There seem to be two obvious reasons why parents want their children to receive trophies. One, they are terrified of how ... The ideals and values of an American family life varied from those after the revolution. American economy had relied heavily on agriculture and people had a more personal work sphere. The government as well, was cautious when involving itself in the nation s economic affairs. In general, the government helped promote and support businesses in order to advance the U.S. s economy. Some examples would be the fact that they limited liability and incorporation laws using charters to protect businesses, provided easy credit for loans, and supported entrepreneurs. This type of involvement is what closely relates the changes in politics to the changes in economy. Most of the government s involvement came through the American System. Developed by Congressman Henry Clay, this system was meant to protect the U.S. industry with tariffs, initiate internal improvements, and stabilize the economy. Clay s first part of the plan was to put protective tariffs primarily on European goods. The total value of foreign exports to the U.S. escalated dramatically in only two years, going from about $13 million (1814) to $151 million (1816). British goods had unbeatable prices and the competition threatened to eliminate American businesses. In order to prevent this from happening Clay decided to place taxes on imports which would ultimately raise European costs to American consumers, shielding the U.S. so they could survive the competition. Now that Clay had established a safer way to have the government support the U.S. s foreign affairs, his second part of the system involved domestic improvement. By the 1820 s, the controversial issue on whether Congress had the power to nationally finance roads, bridges, harbors, canals, and railroads had finally eased up. Skeptics like Presidents James Madison and Monroe had finally softened up and agreed that the government should play a larger role in building the nation s infrastructure (Politics in the Market Revolution). Analysis Of No Firemen At Ground Zero By Michael Burke In the article No Firemen at Ground Zero This 9/11? , Michael Burke uses multiple techniques to persuade his audience of the injustice committed against the first responders of 9/11 by excluding them from the 10 year anniversary at Ground Zero. Burke works towards the goal of having first responders be included in the memorial at Ground Zero, after Mayor Bloomberg claims there isn t enough room. Throughout the piece, Burke targets his argument at the influential readers of the Wall Street Journal in New York to get them to use their influence to put pressure on Bloomberg to get the first responders to be properly honored. By organizing the piece the way Burke did, it allowed him to shape the reader s viewpoint of first responders before he even began arguing his point that first responders must be honored at Ground Zero on the ten year anniversary of 9/11. Another powerful technique that Burke uses to persuade his audience is he uses quotes. Burke uses quotes from people who were at the scene of 9/11 themselves. Burke quotes a woman who was descending from the 89th floor who said When I saw the firemen I knew we would be all right. By using quotes like this, Burke shows the emotional reinsurance that the first responders gave to the people involved in the attack. By showing the emotional response to the first responders, it makes the reader clearly see the importance of the presence of first responders on the scene and the impact they had on the victims. The first responders altered the emotional atmosphere of the scene.
