Miss Wayland Teenage Usa
My Journey as Miss Wayland Teen USA It all started on a sunny summer day. I was scrolling through
Facebook, an ad popped up and it said, Are you the next Miss Michigan Teen USA? I clicked on it,
just wondering what it was and it said that all you had to do was send in a biography of yourself and a
picture. I sent mine in. I told them that I volunteer at a non profit organization called Caleb s Closet in
honor of my cousin, and that I would love to be an anti distracted driving advocate, I also sent in my
photo from 8th grade graduation. About 2 days later, I received an email and it said Welcome to one of
the most prestigious pageants in the world! We are rooting for YOU Miss Wayland Teen! From that
moment, I was Miss Wayland Teen USA ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After that embarrassing experience, we had to start rehearsal with Kent, if there is anyone that would
put on a great show it would be him he is so funny, and he makes you practice everything until you get
it right. If your walk in your evening gown was not exciting, he made you redo it. After three hours of
walking in heels, they took us downstairs to the dinner hall. After dinner, we had to do our makeup
and hair. Luigi Bruni is a makeup and hair stylist, he, and his team did my hair and makeup upstairs
after I had my fake eyelashes on and curled my hair. The waiting process after hair and makeup was
where I made a lot of my friends. Aria and Rena kept reassuring me that I d do great and they are the
only thing that kept me from having a mental breakdown before going on stage and for that, I am
forever grateful. Soon enough, 7:00 pm came. We were all scurrying to get all of our stuff in order
before we went on stage. First we had to introduce ourselves. I had to walk on stage and say, Riley
Hall, Wayland! in the most enthusiastic way I possibly could. Then, we had to get ready for
swimsuit/active wear. We had about 2 minutes to be changed and ready. I had owned that stage. I
bounced around in my hot pink Vans and you would ve thought that I was actually at the

Taking Down Tyrants Analysis
Taking Down Tyrants Give me liberty or give me death, Patrick Henry. The pursuit of of their freedom
is the current mission of the American Army, who find means to standby their cause through
hardships. It s 1777 and there s a war between between the Americans and the British. George
Washington, the leader of the continental army, has struggled to keep his soldiers fighting for their
freedom. He is keeping his troops in Valley Forge, 18 miles northwest of Philadelphia, where the
British are located. My 9 month enlistment will be over on February 1st, , and I have to decide to stay
or go. I m going to stay for these three reasons. To be loyal to my country, to motivate and lift the
spirits of my fellow soldiers, and fight for my country. I m going to stay and fight because it means I
am being loyal to my country. Thomas Paine wrote elaborately about the importance of loyalty to your
country during this desperate time. He states in his writing of The ... Show more content on

Thomas Paine reaches a point in The American Crisis where he begins to describe the wrath and
cruelty of British rule. During this description, he describes, Britain, with an army to enforce her
tyranny... (Paine.) Paine is showing just how Americans should not be held under these unwanted
circumstance and should be free from Britain s power. They are not treated the colonies with much
respect at all. Thomas Paine stays on the topic of Britain for a while, and continues to make analogies.
In one of the analogies of The American Crisis he states, if being bound in that manner is not slavery,
there is not such a thing as slavery on Earth (Paine.) Just the fact alone that he is comparing Britain s
rule with slavery is enough to make you think that they don t treat us Americans well. It makes the
will to break the connection with Great Britain even longer. This needs to be fought for. Our own
independance is worth the risk of staying to

The History And Future Of NASA
NASA s problems with funding that caused the failure of the Landsat commercialization continued
into the future, causing an increase in dependence on foreign and commercial launch vehicles. NASA
continued the downward trend of its funding, into the 1990s, even after seeing a brief jump during the
Bush administration. (Kring) From 1962, NASA had provided the framework for commercial
companies to enter into the world of spaceflight, when Kennedy signed into law the Communications
Satellite Act of 1962. (Communications Satellite Act of 1962) This act provided the framework for
private companies to design, manufacture, and operate their own satellites, while still only offering
their launch services on the Saturn V, THOR, Atlas, and Antares rockets. ... Show more content on

In 2011, coinciding with the retirement of the space shuttle, NASA announced the development of the
Space Launch System (SLS) and the Orion Capsule. (Redd) The SLS is meant to serve as a heavy

the capability to reach interplanetary space, with missions currently planned for Europa in 2022, and
Mars in 2033. (Space Launch System) It is a completely non reusable rocket, helping to increase it s
potential maximum payload to LEO, currently estimated at 70 metric tons for Block 1. (Space Launch

being able to carry 130 metric tons to low earth orbit, similar to that of the Saturn V at 140 metric

the Orion capsule. The Orion capsule is designed in two parts the crew capsule is constructed by
NASA, and the service module is constructed by the ESA. (Orion (spacecraft)) Orion is expected to be
able to provide crew and cargo transport to the ISS, be capable of extended lunar missions, and to
eventually reach Martian orbit on the SLS. (Orion (spacecraft)) However, as good as this program

FDI in Real Estate of India and China Essay
FDI in Real Estate of India and China
FDI refers to the investment made by a foreign individual or company in productive capacity of
another country for example, the purchase or construction of a factory. FDI also refers to the purchase
of a controlling interest in existing operations and businesses (known as mergers and acquisitions).
Multinational firms seeking to tap natural resources, access lucrative or emerging markets, and keep
production costs down by accessing low wage labour pools in developing countries are FDI investors.
Foreign direct investment (FDI) is the movement of capital across national frontiers in a manner that
grants the investor control over the acquired asset. Thus it is distinct from portfolio investment ...

This includes the type of FDI, sector, scale, duration and location of business and secondary effects. A
refocusing of perspective, from merely enhancing the availability of FDI, to the better application of
FDI for sustainable objectives is crucial to push the debate forward. Various international fora and
discussion have outlined a range of positive and negative aspects of FDI as a source of development
for developing countries, some of which are discussed below.
1. Stimulation of national economy
FDI is thought to bring certain benefits to national economies. It can contribute to Gross Domestic
Product (GDP), Gross Fixed Capital Formation (total investment in a host economy) and balance of
payments. There have been empirical studies indicating a positive link between higher GDP and FDI
inflows (OECD a.), however the link does not hold for all regions, e.g. over the last ten years FDI has
increased in Central Europe whilst GDP has dropped. FDI can also contribute toward debt servicing
repayments, stimulate export markets and produce foreign exchange revenue.
Subsidiaries of Trans National Corporations (TNCs), which bring the vast portion of FDI, are
estimated to produce around a third of total global exports. However, levels of FDI do not necessarily
give any indication of the domestic gain (UNCTAD 1999). Corporate strategies e.g. protective tariffs
and transfer pricing can reduce the level of corporate tax received by host

Hitler s New Man
Upon achieving power in 1933, Hitler and the Nazi state began to implement increasingly severe
measures aimed at segregating and ultimately removing the Jewish people from Germany and
eventually all of Europe. Hitler s further achievement was to create the new man. However,
meanwhile the creation of Hitler s new man was giving Germany a sense of destiny, the Jewish life
was being constricted and erased. But what exactly was this idea of a new man? The ultimate attitude
behind this new achievement was to further purify the Aryan race. One of the first steps towards purity
were the Aryan passports, but these were just the beginning of a much broader effort or revolution for
Germans to accept their racial responsibilities. Genetic cultivation ... Show more content on

attacks took place against synagogues, Jewish owned businesses, other Jewish establishments, and
Jewish citizens in general. This was also the start to organized Nazi attacks, and the mass incarceration
of the Jews. There was no clear Instructions on how to execute the violence, so it caused the

became the turning point in the Nazis persecution of the Jewish people. It expanded the efforts to

from the general public. This showed the Nazis that they can easily move forward with their plans

Computer Technology and the Effects on Society
Computer Technology and the Effects on S Computer Technology and the Effect on Society Computer
technology has had a great effect on society as a whole throughout history. It has modified our
behavior greatly as we have become accustomed to the technological advancements of yesterday. We
are so dependent sometimes we do not even have a concept of what life would be like without
computers. When we are forced to live life without computers we are left hopeless and disillusioned
and simple everyday tasks become major chores. Computers of the past were very primitive compared
to the computers of today but extremely useful. One of the very first computers of major importance

This again was due to the cost of the technology. Even though these advancements helped the
computing industry move forward they also helped the job market, as well as keeping accurate records
of information. Companies now needed a full time staff to run the computers as well as programmers
to program them. The introduction of magnetic storage also helped many scientists organize their data,
to make better and more concise evaluations, allowing them to make discoveries that they never
previously thought possible. This began the rapid advancement towards computers as we know them
today. During the 1970 s and 1980 s no one could have imagined how fast the computing industry
would begin evolving. This is when the computer started developing into the personal computer we
know today. The large computers that filled an entire room became smaller and smaller. That is when
personal computers began showing up in homes everywhere. As time passed storage medium
improvements were made. At first the personal computer used a disk to boot up. This was called a
floppy disk. It was first develop in the 5 1/4 form that could hold 360KB of information. This was
later expanded and storage went from 360KB to 1228.8KB or 1.2 MB of information. Striving for
more powerful and compact storage the 3 1/2 disk slowly but surely replaced the 5 1/4 disks. The
formats did overlap for some time as the 720KB 3 1/2 disk competed with the 5 1/4 360KB disk and

How Does Edmund Kemper Contribute To The Witch Archetype
I link Edmund Kemper to the to the witch archetype because the the film Carrie, Ed had a very
controlling yet protective mother. A trait of the witch is a figure of resentment and ridicule which I
connect to both Carrie s mother and Ed s. In the movie her mother resented Carrie because she sees
her as a punishment from one of her greatest sins. With Edmund, he witnessed all the pain that she
experienced within her life from a failed marriage with his father and felt as if he was a constant
reminder of that. Naturally a trait from the witch is supernatural powers, even though Edmund
Kemper doesn t have supernatural powers he does carry non supernatural powers. By having the
ability to manipulate and exploit others which makes them feel powerful.

Fragile X Syndrome Essay
There are many forms of mental retardation. Webster s New World Dictionary defines mental
retardation as a condition, usually congenital, characterized by subnormal intelligence (Agnes, p404).
Mental retardation can be caused by a certain birth defect due to a traumatic event during the mother s
pregnancy, or mental retardation can also be inherited. The most common inherited form of mental
retardation is Fragile X Syndrome. Fragile X Syndrome was identified in the year 1991. This
disability affects more males than females. Approximately 1 in 4,000 males are affected, however only
1 in 8,000 females are affected (Lombroso, 2003). Fragile X generates in the FMR1 gene. Fragile X is

(NFXF, 2005). There are many characteristics as you look at both the male and female side of the
disability. One main characteristic is that many people with Fragile X also have autism, or possess
many behaviors that are autistic like (NFXF, 2006). Autism is defined as a developmental disorder
marked by impaired social interaction, communication difficulties, etc (Agnes, p43). About 2 to 6% of
children with Autism have Autism because of Fragile X. About one third of children with Fragile X

with Fragile X have been found to have fewer mistakes in many areas of speech than the children with
Downs Syndrome (Roberts, et al., 2005). Other characteristics can range from learning disabilities to

In January 2009, President Manuel Zelaya decided, despite the opposition of the business elites, to
increase the country s minimum wage, which was until then the lowest of the region. The country s
elite and the powerful media organs began an intense campaign to discredit and vilify the president
and his cabinet. President Zelaya was accused of wanting to make a new Venezuela (Naiman, 2011;
Benjamin, 2009). Therefore, when he planned to change the constitution, following a strong popular
demand to revise it, the opposition accused him of wanting to do so to make it possible for him to run

George S. Patton Jr, Visionary Leadership
George S. Patton Jr, Visionary, Not Ethical Leadership General Patton once said Moral courage is the
most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men (A quote by George S. Patton Jr, n.d.)
He did not know that would describe both his positive example of visionary leadership and his
inability to practice ethical leadership all at the same time. His performance during World War II
offers great examples of his visionary leadership by utilizing inspirational motivation, idealized
influence, and overall embodying transformational leadership. Despite his influence, he illustrated a
lack of ethical leadership by falling into the ethical dilemma of competing values and not using the 5
Step Ethical Decision Making Process. General Patton was a visionary leader that showed a lack of
ethical leadership, which motivates me into being a better leader in the Wing Inspector Generals (IG)
office. To do so, a better understanding of his visionary leadership is required.
Visionary Leadership General Patton s actions during World War II led using his ability to be a
visionary leader through transformational leadership tactics that were years ahead of current tactics.
According to Axelrod (2006), he was given the nickname Old Blood and Guts for telling those under
his command that they will be up to their necks in blood and guts (Axelrod, 2006, p. 2). Patton s
intention for such colorful inspiration was to push his troops to strive for the extraordinary. General

Biological Parent And A Foster Parent
What are the differences between being a biological parent, an adoptive parent, and a foster parent?
There are many differences between being a biological parent, an adoptive parent, and a foster parent.
Being a biological parent is when you are a parent of a kid by DNA. This means that both of your
DNA are shown similar when it goes through tests in a lab. An adoptive parent is a parent who chose
what child or children they want from a foster home. However an adoptive parent would have to do a
lot of paperwork to be a child or children parent by law. A foster parent on the other hand is a person
who takes after children that were either left from their parents or were taken away and put in foster
care.
What financial needs are parents obligated to provide and which are optional?
The financial needs that a parent must provide to a child or children is basic needs. This includes

Other cultures tend to use an indirect form of communication where their true response is embedded
in the presentation of the message. Accents and fluency problems also cause barriers as it is hard to
understand someone with a thick accent or to speak with someone who has little knowledge and
working use of a foreign language that another team member might use. The group member might
have an idea of how to say something in their head but can t find the words in another language to
share the idea (Brett, Behfar, and Kern, 2006).
Some individuals on the team might also want to be treated according to their status in the
organization. A challenge inherent in multicultural teammates is that by design, teams have a rather
flat structure. Team members from some cultures, are uncomfortable on flat teams (Brett, Behfar, and
Kern, 2006, p. 124). It is important to recognize the hierarchy structure of the country and how their
citizens handle conflict before conducting business with them. Lastly, different cultures have
conflicting norms when it comes to decision making. Some cultures like to make decisions quickly
while others want to think about the decision and analyze it before coming to a conclusion as far as
action to take (Brett, Behfar, and Kern, 2006).
There are four strategies, according to Brett,

Essay on Tobacco Advertising
Introduction
To say that tobacco advertising stimulates tobacco sales may seem a simple and moderate statement.
In reality, tobacco control activists often meet serious opposition in defending this fact. Achieving the
restriction or banning of tobacco advertising is one of the fiercest battles to face. Tobacco lobbyists
usually assert that advertising does not increase the overall quantity of tobacco sold. Rather, the
tobacco industry maintains that advertising merely enhances the market share of a particular brand,
without recruiting new smokers.
These arguments are not always easy to counter. This Factsheet gives health advocates the arguments
and research data needed to face well prepared tobacco lobbyists in public debate. The data ... Show

A recent meta analysis of 48 econometric studies found that tobacco advertising significantly
increased tobacco sales ([2]). Recent reviews by the United States Institute of Medicine ([3]), the
United States Department of Health and Human Services ([4]) and the World Health Organisation
([5]) reached the same conclusion.
Research within a country before and after an ad ban
These studies compare tobacco consumption before and after a complete ban on advertising,
controlling for other factors. Although such studies may be complicated by inadequate of data
collection or poor implementation of the ban, they have yielded convincing data that a complete ban
on advertising makes an important contribution towards reducing smoking prevalence.
Selected studies are summarised in the table below.

To The Memory Of Some I Knew Who Are Dead And Who Loved...
The Easter Rising of 1916 occurred in Ireland in the midst of World War One, and the two events are
closely entwined. Many Irish people initially struggled to reconcile the politics of Irish nationalism
with Irish contributions to World War One. George Russell was one of the first to attempt to offer an
equal commemoration of both events. In 1917, Russell published his poem To the Memory of Some I
Knew Who are Dead and Who Loved Ireland in the Irish Times. This poem was a revised version of
Salutation, which Russell had written to commemorate the rebels of the Easter Rebellion. In the
revised version, Russell interspersed each stanza about the rebels with stanzas about Irish soldiers.
Russell unites these two great losses and their ideologies. He reveals the shared struggle in the trauma
of both events, forming the foundation for a collective memory and shared Irish identity. To the

especially because it brought fighting to Dublin. He notes that women, particularly poor women,
disliked the Volunteers, because many...had husbands and relations fighting for the British on the

Open Learner Model As A Tool For Self Regulated Learning
Open Learner Model as a Tool for Self regulated Learning

An Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) is a computer assisted instructional system designed using
artificial intelligence to simulate a human tutor and customize instruction. Traditionally ITS had a
three component architecture: domain model, student model, and tutoring model (Self, 1990). Later, a
fourth component, user interface, was added, and now ITS is commonly known to have a four

Self regulated Learning
Self regulation refers to the process of planning and cyclically adapting self generated thoughts,
feelings, and actions to the attainment of personal goals (Zimmerman, 2000). Pintrich and Zusho
(2002) defined self regulated learning as an active constructive process whereby learners set goals for
their learning and monitor, regulate, and control their cognition, motivation, and behaviour, guided
and constrained by their goals and the contextual features of the

Essay on Graffiti
GRAFFITI The Public Art Movement
The widespread dissemination of colorful graffiti paintings on the walls of our major cities has made it
impossible to ignore this form of public art. As contact with this form of expression increases, one
starts to recognize styles, recurrent themes, patterns and stylistic influences. To the masses graffiti
seems to represent vandalism, an ugly and threatening attempt to undermined social value and
prestige. For graffiti writers, graffiti is a secret expression, an urban form of mystic calligraphy, a
voice against the man.
Graffiti as an act of transgression against social law and order can be traced back to the first century
AD. On once public and privately owned Pompeiian walls and ... Show more content on

Although the world of the Shaman was much different from the colossal buildings of social and
political order, both the shaman and the graffiti artist appear as the insurgent shadows of creativity in a
world of social hierarchy and economic political stratification. Graffiti artists see themselves as
revolutionaries outside the established art market of the gallery system and the utilitarian values of
capitalist social order. They like the shaman understand their art as ideological statements and
symbolic transformative instruments for initiating social change. Many artists argue that graffiti is
only used to leave a trace of one s existence. However, these criticisms fail to acknowledge that much
of graffiti has taken it s roots in social protest, making the artist s community his audience. The targets
of graffiti, the public and private buildings are symbols of the social body and capitalist identity.
Graffiti writers knowingly and willingly tag the most sacred things of the hierarchy; the more sacred
the symbol and taboo, the more attractive and empowering the transgressive ritual act. The graffiti

Reproductive Rights Argument Essay
The argument about when life begins is nearly invalid in comparison to the argument that there is a
risen rate of unplanned pregnancies. Due to the raising rate of pregnancy, present day America has
turned abortions into a form of contraception. When two individuals decide to have intercourse, they
are exercising their reproductive rights. If one has exercised a specific right, one must also accept the
responsibility of what comes after. For example, think about speeding on the highway. One has the
right to drive a car, as long as the set rules are followed. Unlike most laws, rights, or rules in America
where a fine may be placed, the consequence of one s reproductive rights is not illegal and is another
human being. Thus, one must accept responsibility for what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Rape, of course, is an exception since a woman is not exercising her reproductive rights, they are
being exercised for her. If a woman cannot physically control what has happened to her, she should
have the ability to handle the outcome in whatever way she feels fit. Many also argue that there are
other ways to prevent pregnancy. For example, there are multiple birth control options. Although birth
control may not be 100%, this is much safer than not using it. In addition, birth control, like condoms,
prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. In that case, everyone wins. There is no reason for
two individuals who do not want a child to not use some from contraception. There is also a grey area
between whether or not birth control is a form of abortion or if abortion is a form of birth control.
Neither of these statements are true. Birth control is taken to prevent pregnancy from happening at all.
An abortion takes place after pregnancy has already occurred and kills the living, growing human
being. One cannot argue against the idea that killing a human for your own convenience is immoral.
These ideas are simple, if one does not want a child, one should not act in a way that will

Walter Van Tilburg Clark s The Ox-Bow Incident
In The Ox Bow Incident Walter Van Tilburg Clark uses Major Tetley as a paradigm for traditional,
masculine, southern values. When Major Tetley is preparing to hang the accused rustlers, rather than
ask questions in a professional manner, he emasculates the men. Speak up, man, [...] You re taking it
like a woman (Clark 160). The Author emphasizes Tetley s focus on masculinity even when faced with
death. It stems from the old southern idea of honor, considered important, even when dying. After his
son refuses to hang the accused rustlers, Major Tetley finds himself infuriated and forces his son to
follow his definition of being a man. Tetley said to Gerald, I ll have no female boys bearing my name.

Chapter 13: Because She Looks Like a Child
Kevin Bales Because She Looks Like a Child is an editorial piece that enlightens readers on a tragedy
that has befallen the country of Thailand for decades, sex trafficking and child prostitution. Aside from
the horrific realism of the stories portrayed throughout the piece, the cultural acceptance and evolution
of the epidemic is truly frightening and eye opening. Furthermore, Bales explains how in time, sex
trafficking and child prostitution has reached American soil in efforts to expand profits and the market
for these young, child slaves. While many steps have been taken by the United Nations to help

However, towards the northern mountains of Thailand, people aren t as lucky to live in the luxuries
their brothers and sisters do in the south of Thailand. The mountainous regions are home to harsh
living conditions, where only a tenth of the land if fit for agriculture. The result is, those who control
good land are well off; those who live in the higher elevations are not. So, without being able to farm,
or hunt, many families in the north have to look towards other sources of income. These other sources
often result in the selling of a child, presumably a girl child.
The choice to sell a daughter is a part of Thai culture; although it was not preferred, it was accepted as
a valid means of survival. Many girls would be sold to the South Thailand as a belief that they would
be working in service as housemaids or servers. Instead, many girls are being bought as sex workers.
Families would be compensated and would be able to pay for foods, and survival for sometimes close
to a year. So in hindsight, selling off one of your children to keep your family alive seems like a
logical thing to do. That saying, kill one, save a million, applies here.
The economic boom of 1977 to 1997 had a dramatic impact on Thailand s northern villages. While the
center of the country, Bangkok, was rapidly industrializing, the north fell behind. Due to a lack of
income and resources, the north had to watch the

Bioorthogonal Reaction Lab Report
5. Bioorthogonal Click reactions
Click chemistry has wide applications in biotechnology and chemical biology. For use of such
reactions in the above disciplines of science, such click reactions need to be bioorthogonal. A
bioorthogonal reaction is one which takes place without interfering with native biochemical processes.
These type of reactions take place without interfering with components of the living system. The term
bioorthogonal chemistry was coined by scientist Carolyn Bertozzi in 2003 (Wikipedia)
Bioorthogonal click chemistry can be used to visulaize protein expression, track protein localization,
measure protein activity and identify protein interactions within living systems.(Singh et al., 2016)
Types of reactions that fit this definition are as follows
5.1 Condensations of Ketones and Aldehydes with Heteroatom bound Amines
Historically, the first bio orthogonal ligations involved ketone aldehyde condensation reactions.
While ketones and aldehydes can form reversible imine adducts with many amines found in biological
systems, this process is thermodynamically unfavourable in water.
This led to the use of hydrazides and aminooxy reagents, often called α effect amines because the
heteroatom bound amine is much more nucleophilic than simple amines and thus shifts the
equilibrium dramatically to the hydrazone and oxime products, respectively. ( book)
Although ketones and aldehydes are absent from the cell surface and from macromolecules within

Communism In Russia
Communism is a system of social organisation which formerly consumed almost a third of countries
in the entire world, having originated in Russia. The first official communist state was founded during
the Russian revolutions in 1917, due to the inaugural communist political party Bolsheviks gaining
primal power. Afterwards, the influence of communism spread to other countries with the likes of
Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia and East Germany to name a few. These countries that were governed on
communist principles were known as the Eastern Bloc . Even countries in Asia were persuaded into
the theoretically human equality system such as China, Laos and Vietnam. Communism was gathering
strength to strength every year in the mid 20th century, but eventually its impact was wiped off in the
late 20th century when the Berlin War was knocked down in 1989, ending the barrier between the
Eastern and Western blocs. Communism arguably was the most influential social experiment in
history, but also the most flawed and its failure to change the world permanently will always remain
significant in history.
The word communism originated from commun , a French term meaning belonging to all . Before the
actual foundation of communist parties and countries, there were people who had desired the theory of
shared ownership and equal wealth among society for centuries. The earliest notable people to endorse
this theoretical societal system included Greek philosopher Plato and religious leader

Maus, My Father Bleeds History
Throughout the Holocaust, the Nazis constantly separated families and tattooed prisoners arms with
numbers, their form of identification from then on, causing many people to lose their identities and
sense of self. Art Spiegelman attempts to explore the past of his father as well as other Jews, to create
his own true identity, by utilizing two different narratives: the present relationship between Art and his
father, Vladek, and the frame narrative where Art brings Vladek s story to life by depicting his
characters as animals instead of humans. He draws Jews as mice, Nazis as cats, Poles as pigs, and
Americans as dog, and ensures that all Jews have the same identities regardless of their race. In the
first book of Maus, My Father Bleeds History, Spiegelman depicts the relationship between the

Special Education Issues For Public Schools
Special Education issues The issue that I struggle with is the lack of proper special education in public
schools. I think this is an issue that is seen locally as well as nationally. Inner city school students
suffer the most with improperly trained staff, unqualified teachers, lack of supplies, and not enough
money to fund the programs.
I am very familiar with this issue and feel strongly about the need to reform special education laws
and practices. A child in need of special education services should not be punished for what the school
lacks. I am very passionate about this subject because my daughter suffers through public school. I
have seen firsthand how detrimental the situation can be on a child. My daughter is one of twins born
at 30 weeks and weighing only 2lbs 14.9 oz. She spent five weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit
and had a feeding tube, breathing machine, heart monitor, and incubation. Later one she received early
intervention services such as occupational therapy.
After she started school I kept telling the teachers something wasn t right and I was always told she
was fine and that I couldn t possibly know she had learning issues. The school kept moving her along
acting as if nothing was wrong. Once she hit 2nd grade I watched her do homework and she started to
mirror write all of her spelling words. She had no idea what she had done and insisted they were right.
I sent the homework back to school like that and demanded a meeting with the teacher.

leaders. Both used economic plans and total war effort as a campaign to further there revolution. Stalin
and Robespierre used their revolutions, however, through terror Stalin remained true to his revolution
but Robespierre betrayed his.

This resulted in extreme patriotism and nationalism amongst the French people.
With every great leader there are great supporters as well as great enemies. This was especially true
with Stalin and Robespierre. The French aristocracy was a major block for Robespierre because the
opposed his love and giving freedom of the lower classes. Robespierre set out a reign of terror
directed to those who may oppose the revolutionary government. He became obsessed with his power
to control those who could be put to death for opposing him and he executed those who were close to
him in power. Eventually he was shut out and executed for betraying the revolution.
Stalin similarly executed the minority groups that opposed him. His reign of terror was similar to
Robespierre except that Stalin had several key strengths. A few important ones are that he was street
smart and connected well with the common people. Another was that he was a great public speaker
and could appeal to the masses and majority through his voice. Finally he was manipulative and
shrewd, he was able to convince others he was the right leader and he was clever enough to appeal to
the correct people.
Robespierre used total war effort to help further the French Revolution but gave into terror and power
to meet his downfall as one of the greatest leaders in the French Revolution. Stalin developed a smart

The Pros And Cons Of Police Body Cameras
The social media and the public might want police body cam footage release but sometimes it might
be to graphic or controversial. Police body cameras have been a topic since the incident with Michael
Brown in august of 2014. Police shot and killed an unarmed individual in ferguson, MO, leading to
many people wanting cameras on police. Whether the cameras are a good idea or not this paper will
explore the facts and sides of police body cameras. Overall body cameras should be required Because
they can save the lives of the innocent, keep innocent people from going to jail, and can help a case as
more evidence.
What is a body camera, a body camera is a small unit that is placed on police officer. It is usually a
small unit place on a officers glasses, shoulder, or on the chest. Most unit are self contained but if it
were malfunction the are a bit expensive to replace (Erstad). These cameras have to be manually
turned on and off (EInvestigators). These cameras can possibly break or malfunction on the job but
only in a rare cases (EInvestigators). Some of these cameras take a lot of maintenance to keep running
like software and SD cards storage. As these cameras are getting more widespread and so city are
making them mandatory to be on police at all times. But with more cameras there is more footage and
people want that footage released for the public to have an opinion on. But releasing the footage might
cause some controversy and may not be suitable for public eyes. This type of issue causes a lot of
problems Some examples of the raw footage being released into the public can cause problems. One
such case is Michael Bennet at the Mayweather vs. Mcgregor fight where there were falsely reported
gunshots and Michael was running out of the building when police stopped and was detained for 17
minutes. He seen as running from the cops so they considered him suspicious and was detained. There
were false accusations before the footage was released and the case was closed with no one being
arrested or hurt (Chiari). Another such case is with officer Anthony Cano who came up to a wrecked
car on the side of the road. When he searched the vehicle some one was inside and he seemed

How did the African slavery impact the Caribbean region between1640 1985? Introduction When the
Europeans switched from tobacco to sugar cultivation, the plantation needed more lands and more

not meet the labour demands. The Europeans brought free labourers from Europe, but they could not
be forced to work under the conditions demanded by the encomenderos. The church suggested the use
of enslaving Africans to replace the fast dying Taino population. The Africans faced tremendous

The World Of Business Is Chiefly Based On The Aspects Of...
Without a doubt, the world of business is chiefly based on the aspects of supply and demand.
Throughout history, a multitude of companies both big and small and offline and online have been
able to grow and spread through providing the best services to customers. In the form of products and
services, various companies have been able to build upon preexisting value ratings while at the same
time using this as a template to help boost more sales down the line. However, as technology changed
so did the power of promotion. For instance, prior to the invention of the radio, many companies had
to rely either upon word of mouth or different forms of advertising through print ads. This was
particularly the key factors that aided in the growth and promotion of companies such as Sears
throughout its creation and development in the late 1880s. In short, with the widespread availability of
traveling through the newly introduced national railroad system, the founders created, passed around,
and mailed their innovative catalogs to help spread word and deliver products to consumers (Brake,
88). Decades later with the invention of the radio, companies increasingly had much more bargaining
power as they could literally speak directly to their audience. A few decades later, this overall level of
marketing grew even more in reference to the actual presentation of products and services with the
invention of the television. For the very first time in history, companies could literally

Trailer Case Summary
Trailer 1 did a decent job with loading the livestock and transporting them, but that is about as far as
the credit goes. Loading cattle at night in cool temperatures helped to keep the cattle calm while
loading, and the load density was of an appropriate level. The non slip flooring and bedding helped the
livestock move around the trailer and stay dry. The notes left do not describe the temperature in Fargo,
ND, so it is challenging to assess if the non covered slats are an issue that could cause concern. Cattle
can handle cooler temperatures better than other animals, but covered slats would be needed if
transport occurred during a cold winter month as North Dakota experiences rather harsh winters.
Failure to add covered slats to the trailer on a long drive like this could lead to potential frostbite on
the animals hide. The driver arrived just prior to the afternoon shift change, so the livestock waited 45
minutes to be unloaded from the trailer, which is not of concern. When the livestock were being

Internet users believe this is the only available forum that guarantees the open exchange of ideas. The

  • 2. Miss Wayland Teenage Usa My Journey as Miss Wayland Teen USA It all started on a sunny summer day. I was scrolling through Facebook, an ad popped up and it said, Are you the next Miss Michigan Teen USA? I clicked on it, just wondering what it was and it said that all you had to do was send in a biography of yourself and a picture. I sent mine in. I told them that I volunteer at a non profit organization called Caleb s Closet in honor of my cousin, and that I would love to be an anti distracted driving advocate, I also sent in my photo from 8th grade graduation. About 2 days later, I received an email and it said Welcome to one of the most prestigious pageants in the world! We are rooting for YOU Miss Wayland Teen! If your walk in your evening gown was not exciting, he made you redo it. After three hours of walking in heels, they took us downstairs to the dinner hall. After dinner, we had to do our makeup and hair. Luigi Bruni is a makeup and hair stylist, he, and his team did my hair and makeup upstairs after I had my fake eyelashes on and curled my hair. The waiting process after hair and makeup was where I made a lot of my friends. Aria and Rena kept reassuring me that I d do great and they are the only thing that kept me from having a mental breakdown before going on stage and for that, I am forever grateful. Soon enough, 7:00 pm came. We were all scurrying to get all of our stuff in order before we went on stage. First we had to introduce ourselves. I had to walk on stage and say, Riley Hall, Wayland! in the most enthusiastic way I possibly could. Then, we had to get ready for swimsuit/active wear. We had about 2 minutes to be changed and ready. I had owned that stage. I bounced around in my hot pink Vans and you would ve thought that I was actually at the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I m going to stay for these three reasons. To be loyal to my country, to motivate and lift the spirits of my fellow soldiers, and fight for my country. I m going to stay and fight because it means I am being loyal to my country. Thomas Paine wrote elaborately about the importance of loyalty to your country during this desperate time. Thomas Paine stays on the topic of Britain for a while, and continues to make analogies. In one of the analogies of The American Crisis he states, if being bound in that manner is not slavery, there is not such a thing as slavery on Earth (Paine.) Just the fact alone that he is comparing Britain s rule with slavery is enough to make you think that they don t treat us Americans well. A refocusing of perspective, from merely enhancing the availability of FDI, to the better application of FDI for sustainable objectives is crucial to push the debate forward. Various international fora and discussion have outlined a range of positive and negative aspects of FDI as a source of development for developing countries, some of which are discussed below. 1. Stimulation of national economy FDI is thought to bring certain benefits to national economies. It can contribute to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Gross Fixed Capital Formation (total investment in a host economy) and balance of payments. There have been empirical studies indicating a positive link between higher GDP and FDI inflows (OECD a.), however the link does not hold for all regions, e.g. over the last ten years FDI has increased in Central Europe whilst GDP has dropped. FDI can also contribute toward debt servicing repayments, stimulate export markets and produce foreign exchange revenue. Subsidiaries of Trans National Corporations (TNCs), which bring the vast portion of FDI, are estimated to produce around a third of total global exports. However, levels of FDI do not necessarily give any indication of the domestic gain (UNCTAD 1999). But what exactly was this idea of a new man? The ultimate attitude behind this new achievement was to further purify the Aryan race. However, towards the northern mountains of Thailand, people aren t as lucky to live in the luxuries their brothers and sisters do in the south of Thailand. The mountainous regions are home to harsh living conditions, where only a tenth of the land if fit for agriculture. The result is, those who control good land are well off; those who live in the higher elevations are not. So, without being able to farm, or hunt, many families in the north have to look towards other sources of income. These other sources often result in the selling of a child, presumably a girl child. The choice to sell a daughter is a part of Thai culture; although it was not preferred, it was accepted as a valid means of survival. Many girls would be sold to the South Thailand as a belief that they would be working in service as housemaids or servers. Instead, many girls are being bought as sex workers. Families would be compensated and would be able to pay for foods, and survival for sometimes close to a year. • 27. Bioorthogonal Reaction Lab Report 5. Bioorthogonal Click reactions Click chemistry has wide applications in biotechnology and chemical biology. For use of such reactions in the above disciplines of science, such click reactions need to be bioorthogonal. A bioorthogonal reaction is one which takes place without interfering with native biochemical processes. These type of reactions take place without interfering with components of the living system. The term bioorthogonal chemistry was coined by scientist Carolyn Bertozzi in 2003 (Wikipedia) Bioorthogonal click chemistry can be used to visulaize protein expression, track protein localization, measure protein activity and identify protein interactions within living systems.(Singh et al., 2016) Types of reactions that fit this definition are as follows 5.1 Condensations of Ketones and Aldehydes with Heteroatom bound Amines Historically, the first bio orthogonal ligations involved ketone aldehyde condensation reactions. While ketones and aldehydes can form reversible imine adducts with many amines found in biological systems, this process is thermodynamically unfavourable in water. This led to the use of hydrazides and aminooxy reagents, often called α effect amines because the heteroatom bound amine is much more nucleophilic than simple amines and thus shifts the equilibrium dramatically to the hydrazone and oxime products, respectively. ( book) Although ketones and aldehydes are absent from the cell surface and from macromolecules within ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Communism In Russia Communism is a system of social organisation which formerly consumed almost a third of countries in the entire world, having originated in Russia. The first official communist state was founded during the Russian revolutions in 1917, due to the inaugural communist political party Bolsheviks gaining primal power. Afterwards, the influence of communism spread to other countries with the likes of Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia and East Germany to name a few. These countries that were governed on communist principles were known as the Eastern Bloc . Even countries in Asia were persuaded into the theoretically human equality system such as China, Laos and Vietnam. Communism was gathering strength to strength every year in the mid 20th century, but eventually its impact was wiped off in the late 20th century when the Berlin War was knocked down in 1989, ending the barrier between the Eastern and Western blocs. Communism arguably was the most influential social experiment in history, but also the most flawed and its failure to change the world permanently will always remain significant in history. The word communism originated from commun , a French term meaning belonging to all . Before the actual foundation of communist parties and countries, there were people who had desired the theory of shared ownership and equal wealth among society for centuries. The earliest notable people to endorse this theoretical societal system included Greek philosopher Plato and religious leader ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Art Spiegelman attempts to explore the past of his father as well as other Jews, to create his own true identity, by utilizing two different narratives: the present relationship between Art and his father, Vladek, and the frame narrative where Art brings Vladek s story to life by depicting his characters as animals instead of humans. He draws Jews as mice, Nazis as cats, Poles as pigs, and Americans as dog, and ensures that all Jews have the same identities regardless of their race. • 32. Special Education Issues For Public Schools Special Education issues The issue that I struggle with is the lack of proper special education in public schools. I think this is an issue that is seen locally as well as nationally. Inner city school students suffer the most with improperly trained staff, unqualified teachers, lack of supplies, and not enough money to fund the programs. I am very familiar with this issue and feel strongly about the need to reform special education laws and practices. A child in need of special education services should not be punished for what the school lacks. I am very passionate about this subject because my daughter suffers through public school. I have seen firsthand how detrimental the situation can be on a child. My daughter is one of twins born at 30 weeks and weighing only 2lbs 14.9 oz. She spent five weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit and had a feeding tube, breathing machine, heart monitor, and incubation. Later one she received early intervention services such as occupational therapy. After she started school I kept telling the teachers something wasn t right and I was always told she was fine and that I couldn t possibly know she had learning issues. The school kept moving her along acting as if nothing was wrong. Once she hit 2nd grade I watched her do homework and she started to mirror write all of her spelling words. She had no idea what she had done and insisted they were right. I sent the homework back to school like that and demanded a meeting with the teacher. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This was especially true with Stalin and Robespierre. The French aristocracy was a major block for Robespierre because the opposed his love and giving freedom of the lower classes. Robespierre set out a reign of terror directed to those who may oppose the revolutionary government. He became obsessed with his power to control those who could be put to death for opposing him and he executed those who were close to him in power. Eventually he was shut out and executed for betraying the revolution. Stalin similarly executed the minority groups that opposed him. His reign of terror was similar to Robespierre except that Stalin had several key strengths. A few important ones are that he was street smart and connected well with the common people. Another was that he was a great public speaker and could appeal to the masses and majority through his voice. Finally he was manipulative and shrewd, he was able to convince others he was the right leader and he was clever enough to appeal to the correct people. • 34. The Pros And Cons Of Police Body Cameras The social media and the public might want police body cam footage release but sometimes it might be to graphic or controversial. Police body cameras have been a topic since the incident with Michael Brown in august of 2014. Police shot and killed an unarmed individual in ferguson, MO, leading to many people wanting cameras on police. Whether the cameras are a good idea or not this paper will explore the facts and sides of police body cameras. Overall body cameras should be required Because they can save the lives of the innocent, keep innocent people from going to jail, and can help a case as more evidence. What is a body camera, a body camera is a small unit that is placed on police officer. It is usually a small unit place on a officers glasses, shoulder, or on the chest. Most unit are self contained but if it were malfunction the are a bit expensive to replace (Erstad). These cameras have to be manually turned on and off (EInvestigators). These cameras can possibly break or malfunction on the job but only in a rare cases (EInvestigators). Some of these cameras take a lot of maintenance to keep running like software and SD cards storage. As these cameras are getting more widespread and so city are making them mandatory to be on police at all times. But with more cameras there is more footage and people want that footage released for the public to have an opinion on. But releasing the footage might cause some controversy and may not be suitable for public eyes. This type of issue causes a lot of problems Some examples of the raw footage being released into the public can cause problems. One such case is Michael Bennet at the Mayweather vs. Mcgregor fight where there were falsely reported gunshots and Michael was running out of the building when police stopped and was detained for 17 minutes. He seen as running from the cops so they considered him suspicious and was detained. There were false accusations before the footage was released and the case was closed with no one being arrested or hurt (Chiari). • 35. impacts of slavery in the caribbean How did the African slavery impact the Caribbean region between1640 1985? Introduction When the Europeans switched from tobacco to sugar cultivation, the plantation needed more lands and more labour. The labour present came from the Tainos, whose population decreased from abuse, and could not meet the labour demands. The Europeans brought free labourers from Europe, but they could not be forced to work under the conditions demanded by the encomenderos. The church suggested the use of enslaving Africans to replace the fast dying Taino population. The Africans faced tremendous abuse. They were captured in tribal wars or raids on villages. Buckets of water were thrown over the slaves as they lay to wash away the excrements. Slaves suffered from infections from lying in dirt. Some died or were thrown overboard. Ships sank or were lost in storms and slaves died. For example the George ship, lost 84 percent of the 594 slaves from the length of voyage and badness of weather. Slaves also rebelled, by commit suicide and taking over ships, killing the crew members and order those they spared to sail the ship back and escaped to freedom. The death rates among slaves during the middle passage were extremely high. After crossing the Atlantic, the slaves were in terrible conditions, both physically and mentally. They were hardly in any condition to be sold. Before being offered for sale, they were cleaned up and inspected. Prices were set with the agreement of buyers then sold in the process of scrambling. The slaves were assembled in groups of males and females and at the firing of the gun buyers rushed on board in order to seize all they wanted. Throughout history, a multitude of companies both big and small and offline and online have been able to grow and spread through providing the best services to customers. In the form of products and services, various companies have been able to build upon preexisting value ratings while at the same time using this as a template to help boost more sales down the line. However, as technology changed so did the power of promotion. For instance, prior to the invention of the radio, many companies had to rely either upon word of mouth or different forms of advertising through print ads. This was particularly the key factors that aided in the growth and promotion of companies such as Sears throughout its creation and development in the late 1880s. In short, with the widespread availability of traveling through the newly introduced national railroad system, the founders created, passed around, and mailed their innovative catalogs to help spread word and deliver products to consumers (Brake, 88). Decades later with the invention of the radio, companies increasingly had much more bargaining power as they could literally speak directly to their audience. A few decades later, this overall level of marketing grew even more in reference to the actual presentation of products and services with the invention of the television. For the very first time in history, companies could literally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Trailer Case Summary Trailer 1 did a decent job with loading the livestock and transporting them, but that is about as far as the credit goes. Loading cattle at night in cool temperatures helped to keep the cattle calm while loading, and the load density was of an appropriate level. The non slip flooring and bedding helped the livestock move around the trailer and stay dry. The notes left do not describe the temperature in Fargo, ND, so it is challenging to assess if the non covered slats are an issue that could cause concern. Cattle can handle cooler temperatures better than other animals, but covered slats would be needed if transport occurred during a cold winter month as North Dakota experiences rather harsh winters. Failure to add covered slats to the trailer on a long drive like this could lead to potential frostbite on the animals hide. The driver arrived just prior to the afternoon shift change, so the livestock waited 45 minutes to be unloaded from the trailer, which is not of concern. I believe that this packing plant should fail their audit solely for the fact that the workers used electric prods on each and every animal that exited the trailer. The workers mentioned that it was against the packing plant s policy to use electric prods, but chose to use the prods anyway. This shows me that the plant has either failed in properly training their employees on how to properly unload livestock, or that the workers at the plant are negligent to the policies implemented and need to be dismissed from their ... Because the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates radio and television, Internet users believe this is the only available forum that guarantees the open exchange of ideas.
