Project procurement management involves purchasing products, services, or results from outside sources. It includes planning procurements by documenting decisions and identifying sellers, conducting procurements by obtaining bids and awarding contracts, controlling procurements by managing vendor relationships and monitoring performance, and closing procurements by completing each transaction. Key concepts are using vendor contracts, monitoring vendor performance, and maintaining records of vendor activities.

Tuckman's group development (Adjourning)Jeffrey Cheah
The forming–storming–norming–performing model of group development was first proposed by Bruce Tuckman in 1965, who mentioned that these phases are all necessary and inevitable in order for the team to grow, to face up to challenges, to tackle problems, to find solutions, to plan work, and to deliver results. This model has become the basis for subsequent models.

The three-day course, "Introduction to CMMI", introduces participants to the fundamental concepts of the CMMI model. The course assists companies in integrating best practices from proven discipline-specific process improvement models, including systems engineering, software engineering, integrated product and process development and supplier sourcing.
The course is composed of lectures and class exercises with ample opportunity for participant questions and discussions. After attending the course, participants will be able to describe the components of CMMI, discuss the process areas in CMMI, and locate relevant information in the model.
The workshop will help the participants to:
Understand the CMMI framework
Understand the detailed requirements of the process areas in the CMMI V1.3
Make valid judgments regarding the organization's implementation of process areas
Identify issues that should be addressed in performing process improvements using the CMMI V1.3

The case study discusses the potential of drone delivery and the challenges that need to be addressed before it becomes widespread.
Key takeaways:
Drone delivery is in its early stages: Amazon's trial in the UK demonstrates the potential for faster deliveries, but it's still limited by regulations and technology.
Regulations are a major hurdle: Safety concerns around drone collisions with airplanes and people have led to restrictions on flight height and location.
Other challenges exist: Who will use drone delivery the most? Is it cost-effective compared to traditional delivery trucks?
Discussion questions:
Managerial challenges: Integrating drones requires planning for new infrastructure, training staff, and navigating regulations. There are also marketing and recruitment considerations specific to this technology.
External forces vary by country: Regulations, consumer acceptance, and infrastructure all differ between countries.
Demographics matter: Younger generations might be more receptive to drone delivery, while older populations might have concerns.
Stakeholders for Amazon: Customers, regulators, aviation authorities, and competitors are all stakeholders. Regulators likely hold the greatest influence as they determine the feasibility of drone delivery.

3. 3Procurement Management
Project Procurement Management includes the processes necessary to purchase or acquire products,
services, or results needed from outside the project team. The organization can be either the buyer or seller
of the products, services, or results of a project.
Key Concepts
Vendor Contracts to ensure
smooth delivery from both
sides
Vendor Performance to
monitor vendor’s work effort
Records Management
System to keep track of
vendor activites
4. 4Procurement Management
12.1 Plan Procurement Management—The process of
documenting project procurement decisions,
specifying the approach, and identifying potential sellers.
12.2 Conduct Procurements—The process of obtaining seller
responses, selecting a seller, and awarding
a contract.
12.3 Control Procurements—The process of managing
procurement relationships, monitoring contract
performance, and making changes and corrections as
appropriate.
12.4 Close Procurements—The process of completing each
project procurement.
