Romeo And Juliet Tragedy Essay
Crafting an essay on the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet poses a formidable challenge that demands
a nuanced understanding of Shakespearean literature, profound analytical skills, and a keen
awareness of the socio-cultural context. The complexity of this task lies not only in deciphering
the intricate language of the Elizabethan era but also in unraveling the multifaceted layers of the
characters, plot, and themes embedded within the play.
To embark on this literary exploration, one must delve deep into the characters of Romeo and
Juliet, grappling with their complex personalities, motivations, and the intricacies of their ill-
fated love. Unraveling the thematic elements of the play, such as the destructive power of feuds,
the impulsive nature of youth, and the fragility of human relationships, requires a keen eye for
detail and a capacity to connect the dots across the narrative.
Moreover, the cultural and historical backdrop of Shakespeare's time must be considered to
appreciate the societal norms and values that influenced the characters' decisions and the
unfolding of events. Analyzing the tragic flaws and fatal missteps that lead to the untimely
demise of the titular characters demands a profound understanding of human nature and the
universal aspects of tragedy.
The process of constructing a coherent and compelling essay on this topic involves navigating
through the labyrinth of literary criticism, scholarly interpretations, and diverse perspectives. It
requires synthesizing information from various sources, articulating original insights, and
presenting a cohesive argument that reflects a deep engagement with the material.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a demanding endeavor
that necessitates intellectual rigor, literary acumen, and a passion for unraveling the intricacies of
one of Shakespeare's timeless works. Yet, for those seeking assistance, it's worth noting that

Critical Theory

In this essay two theories will be examined in regards to their advantages and
disadvantages, when applied. For this, Feminism and Post Colonialism will be used,
as both theories unite in their aim to deconstruct the dominant ideologies and
stereotypes in a patriarchal and imperialistic white European male dominated society,
thus overthrowing centuries of colonization, subordination, marginalization and
exploitation
Feminists seek to reconstruct decrepit ideas of femininity, and extinguish female

Nassab continues to say that Conrad may have been influenced by Authors with a
similar view of Africa such as Henry Stanleys, The dark Continent Quoting Chinua
Achebe, Nassaab tells us this was, and still is, The dominant image of Africa in the
Western imagination and Conrad merely brought the peculiar gifts of his own mind
to bear it . Conrads constant portrayal of Africans as Barbarians, and uneducated
savages, reflects Africa as the antithesis of Europe. This preconception was based
largely on a lack of knowledge thus leaving Europeans predisposed to viewing
Africans in this way.
Conrad represents Africa as Other , he sets in our minds; a place where man s
vaunted intelligence and refinement are finally mocked by triumphant bestiality .
(Achebe) Applying a post colonial critique to this text unveils Conrads biasness,
nescience of and natural adherence to the discourse of his time. Feminist criticism
in this way also points out the image of women as other . Just as Conrad harbors
racist ideologies toward Africa, he also reveals his fixed interpretations and biased
male vision of women. Conrad writes;
Girl? What did I mention girl? Oh, she is out of it completely. They, the woman I
mean are out of it should be out of it. We must help them stay in that beautiful world
of their own, lest our gestures get worse.
Here Conrad completely undermines womens intelligence by suggesting they are/can
be nothing more than physically beautiful, painting an
Class-Wide Positive Behavior Support In Preschool. Carter
Class Wide Positive Behavior Support in Preschool Carter and Van Norman (2010),
shed light on the significance of consulting teachers as they utilize Positive Behavior
Support (PBS), a classroom management program. In addition, they explain whether
or not PBS helps students academic engagement rise and diminishes challenging
behaviors. PBS promotes developing and establishing a safe and predictable
environment for students. In this particular study, teachers from four preschool
classrooms in one of Nevada s early childhood educationcenters attended a
presentation on PBS. Then, the teachers were instructed to implement PBS in their
classrooms and were observed by several PBS consultants. During their first
consultations with each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is suggested that teachers should display this schedule in their classrooms. The
schedule should use a combination of words and pictures. Most importantly, it
should be at eye level so that children can refer back to it at any time during the day.
Schedules helps students be more aware of the current activity as well as the
upcoming activities. This technique is appropriate for preschoolers, and children in a
K 3 setting because they comprehend that their day has a certain structure. Moreover,
they will utilize the schedule more than the infants or toddlers because it keeps them
on track. PBS focuses on developing a positive environment for the students. One
strategy that helps establish this type of environment is using a ratio of at least four
positive statements to every negative statement (Carter, Van Norman, 2010, p. 3).
This strategy is appropriate for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children in K 3
setting because positive statements motivate children and reinforce appropriate
behaviors. Using positive statements, helps build self esteem and confidence in older
students.

Leo Tolstoy s The Death Of Ivan Ilych
If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life
you doubt, as far as possible, all things, quoth the great French philosopher Rene
Descartes. This also essentially describes the meaning of Leo Tolstoy s The Death
of Ivan Ilych. For if there was ever a man who but once and only once dared to
doubt all things for the sake of truth, it was Ivan Ilych. This becomes evident when
Mr. Ilych undergoes a profound spiritual reassessment as death draws nearer to him
and a final spiritual reconciliation when he finally passes away at the end of the
story. Specifically, Ivan Ilych undergoes this transformation as his death draws near
and the falsity of the life he has lead dawns upon him in the very twilight of his life.
This leads to a final reconciliation with the reality of his past... Show more content on

This is because when Ivan Ilych is seen as an archetypal product of modern society,
his individual experience gains a broader meaning applicable to people
everywhere. Ivan Ilych is a worldly man who, like so many people, is preoccupied
with worldly concerns. Moreover, the world in which he lives, like himself, is
disingenuous. Everyone deals with each other in a polite and proper manner, but
there is no conviction behind the sentimentalities and apparent friendliness that
characterize Ivan Ilych s relationships; they are false. Ivan Ilych, however, is forced
out of this comfortable falsity by his impending death. When he finally comes face
to face with the ultimate reality, he rejects the life he has lived and embraces what he
sees as the light. Thus Ivan Ilych, at his death, is finally born into a higher truth.
Tolstoy, then, is calling on the readers to renounce the materialistic world and its
pretense, to reconcile themselves to whatever truth lies beyond it just as Ivan Ilych
did. Therein lies the significance of the

Argumentative Essay On Painkillers
Argumentative Essay: The Problem With Painkillers
Have you ever felt pain? The kind that inhibits you from getting through your day,
and doing what you need to? Well, it pains me to say it, but everyone will feel pain
at least once in their life, and some people have it worse than others. People with
severe or chronic pains usually will go to painkillers to relieve their pain and stress,
but it s easy to get addicted. Worst case scenario is that a person could look to
heroine in order to fill their craving for pain medication, after their prescription is
finished. It s easy to get hooked, and hard to resist, which is why even though
helpful, pain medication can be deadly in the long run. Studies show that about
nine percent of Americans use pain medications, and 2% 3% of Americans abuse
pain medications (not 2% 3% of painkiller users, but the general public).
Prescription drugs are also legally acceptable, even though they can be considered
addictive. They are hard to detect, and it s not as easy for people to overdose
considering there is a given dose with the prescription. Prescription drugs can be as
bad as recreational drugs, but they ve slipped under the noses of officials because ...

When people get addicted to these drugs, the worst case scenario can occur, and it
is easily seen that many Americans get addicted based on the daily number of
deaths. Painkillers are supposed to be helpful, but if they re causing mass death, are
they really helping anyone, or just hurting society? So many problems can be caused
by painkillers that it s almost a fact that you re better off without them. The drugs can
drive people insane if they go without them, and all the drugs are doing at this point
is ending lives they re supposed to be helping. Thanks to the high addiction rate,
painkillers are doing the opposite of what they re supposed to, and causing people
and their loved ones
Globalization Means Underaken Entirely
1. Defining Globalization:
The term Globalization in origin came from the word global . In different languages
there are different meanings for the word global. Meydan Larousse defined the term
global as undertaken entirely and this meaning was attributed to the word global by
western languages. In French this term means homogeneity . Henceforth the word
means both entirety and homogeneity . Here are various ideas on the first usage of
the word globalization with its modern meaning.
An American Defense Institute states globalization as fast and continuous inter
border flow of goods, services, capital (or money), technology, ideas, information,
cultures and nations .
According to the Institute, through globalization is a unique combination among
economies is happening, an evidence modification is being experienced, and
governance, markets, corporations and organizations are becoming more
international. The term globalization covers many concepts and cannot be assessed
uniquely as either economic, political process or worldwide spanning of capital or
production flows. Hence, the word globalization is given various meanings by
different people, but can be interpreted differently due to various dimensions based on
the terms such as time and location. The term globalization has a wide complex and
challenging effects that are mainly analyzed with its economic dimension taking
cultural, social, political and historical facets as some references (Atkearney, 2007).

The Three Causes Of The Russian Revolution
The Russian Revolution started in 1905 through 1917. It happened because there
were a series of revolution that started in 1905, including the bloody sunday. This
name was because priest disagreed that workers had no rights to he went to Czar s
house and just started shooting everywhere. Russian revolution had five or six causes
we have three really important causes. We had the weakness of Russia, the World War
one, the mistakes of Tsar s, Army abandoned the Tsar, Duma abandoned Tsars, but
the most important of the five reasons of the Russian Revolution was that the
People of Russia didn t want an absolute monarchy. Russia for a long time had
absolute monarchism until Nicholas the second that was the last Czars of Russia,
and wasn t kings and queens the had the Czars and the Czars had absolute power in
Russia. What do you think it s going to happen? I will give you a clue it was a really
bloody war.
Bloody Sunday was one of the reason of the Russian Revolution to happen. So the
bloody Sunday was when demonstrators without guns or any object like that were
attacked by soldiers of the Imperial Guards when they were marching to the Winter
Palace. Another reason was the Duma. At the October Manifesto that was a response

In particular, small changes in inputs can result in large changes in the value of a
company, given the need to project cash flow to infinity. James Montier argues that,
while the algebra of DCF is simple, neat and compelling, the implementation becomes
a minefield of problems . He cites, in particular, problems with estimating cash flows
and estimating discount rates. Despite the issues, DCF analysis is very widely used
and is perhaps the primary valuation tool amongst the financial analyst community.
2.2. Terminal Value
Terminal Value, in simple term, is the value of a company with an infinite row of
constant future cash flows.
To arrive at a total company value, or enterprise value, we simply have to take the
present value of the cash flows and the Terminal value, divide them by the discount
rate and, finally, add up the results. If we are discounting free cash flow of the firm
at the weighted average cost of capital, this would give the value of the firm, so it
would be necessary to deduct net debt in order to arrive at the equity value. In this
report, simply use FCF in the year of 2011 to compare the value of the firm to the
stock price in the year end of 2011.
2.3. Weighted Average Cost of Capital
The Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) is the discount rate used in a
Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis to present value projected free cash flows and
terminal value.

Speaking Like Cave People Research
Speaking like Cave People In today s society grunting will not get me anywhere,
but a long time ago it did help cave people to communicate with one another.
Growing up in the states, I was taught in my household to speak in two languages,
Vietnamese and English. It was challenging to wrap my head around them, but it s
become second nature to me now. Most of the people during the prehistoric era
had the hardest time communicating with each other. Oddly enough I can sort of
relate to them. As a kid I wasn t really much of the type to volunteer to read aloud
or the type to speak in front of the whole class. Every time I went up to present
something I would feel nausea in my stomach, kind of like that idiom I ve got
butterflies in my stomach .
Medical Advancement As A Medical Doctor
The individual in humanity is fueled by a passion he or she delves upon. It may
range from an array of academics to public concerns to a philosophical emphasis.
Therefore, I consider medical advancement as my enthusiasm to my intellectual
character. As a young boy, the biology and chemical milieu of our body has always
captured my attention since I was familiar on how the body s various organs were
organized. As such, I consider my persona as positive, focally goal oriented, and
optimistic in my morals As a toddler, my fascination with cars was a bit extreme.
Collecting as many model vehicles as I could and memorizing all of the respective
names by heart, I felt I was going to be an automotive professional. In a leisurely
pursuit, my passion and knowledge for the anatomy of automobiles parallels my
aspiration and interest in studying the human body and ultimately realizing my
ambition in becoming a medical doctor. For those who have not focused on what s
under the hood of a car, and are less fortunate in understanding all those mechanistic
components, vehicles systems are analogous to the human body. Simply put, an
engine s cooling system is like the body s circulatory system. When we have a fever,
a sensor initiates our private thermostat, the hypothalamus, resulting in sweating and
other ways of cooling. My fervor for automobiles derives from my close uncle, who
unfortunately passed away in a vehicle accident with a traumatic head injury resulting
in a hardship at the end
Essay A Case for Vouchers and School Choice
A Case for School Choice
There is growing conflict over the nation s education policy. Indeed, this conflict
remains one of the few areas of divergence between our converging two party
structure. Yet, as is so often the case with pressing concerns in American politics, any
real proposals have been drowned under the Washington bureaucracy. Unfortunately,
the nation can no longer ignore the ever expanding education crisis plaguing the
country, and Washington must consider school choiceas a remedy for the ailing
public school system.
The author of this article feels confident in asserting that the public school system in
this nation is failing miserably in its attempt to prepare youth for competition in the ...

Milwaukee and Cleveland, so far, have been the only cities to completely embrace
such programs. Unfortunately, these programs remain in their formative stages, and
are unable to offer any definitive evidence endorsing the concept.
Modern advocates of school choice have not failed to recognize the explicit success
stories which have often been associated with both private and parochial schools.
Regardless of location, socioeconomic status, or religious affiliation, such schools
have repeatedly proven to be better educators of America s youth children in such
schools score higher on standardized tests and are more likely to attend college.
Amazingly, these schools, especially Catholic schools, have achieved their success
with noticeably smaller budgets. All of this evidence leads to the question: How have
such schools achieved their substantial success?
Opinions concerning the reasons for such success commonly cite such abstractions
as values and discipline. Even those citing a core curriculum or a nurturing
environment fail to recognize the true reason why school choice programs will have
such a profound effect on the education system competition. Private schools have no
public respirators sustaining their existence when it becomes known that they have
failed in their mission. The choice is simple for private schools either educate well
or close down. Faced with only a single option if they fail in their mission, private
schools have

My dad left me on the last day of summer. The summer kept its promise and

6-N-Propylthiouracil Taste Strips
The use of 6 n propylthiouracil (PROP) taste strips helps determines whether people
have a sense of taste that is, strongly bitter , bitter , or no taste. Through the studies of
different reactions to taste, the hope is to get an overall assumption of taste
perception for the population. Taste perception is based on the different amounts of
fungiform papillae on the tongueand it will trigger differences in perceived taste
intensities of other taste stimuli (Pelletier Steele, 2014, Reedy, Haines, Campbell,
2005, Bartoshuk,1993). The number of taste pores correlates with the strongest
perception of sweet taste, but not as much correlation with fungiform papillae density

The classifying of medium tasters, no tasters, and super tasters are based on the
theory mentioned by Pelletier Steele (2014) that the amount of taste buds affects
ultimately the tasting sensations in each person. Which this theory makes sense the
more taste buds someone has present the more likely they are to be supertasters
because they can have more sensors to have a reaction to the taste. Whereas Nagy,
Steele, Pelletier (2014) mentions how as people progress in age their tongue
changes over the years and loses taste buds, which with less taste buds they have a
more likely chance of being a no taster. More than likely therefore the data showed a
small percentage of no tasters because it is not as likely to occur in this median age
bracket unless they were born with a gene change that makes them unable to taste
bitterness. Those who are supertasters probably have the homozygous sensitivity and
that is why they reacted so much to the strip (Dietsch, Solomon, Steele, Pelletier,
Why Do People Commit Crime
Longman dictionary defines crime as an offence that is punishable by law . As BBC
Bitesize 2017 describes, doing something wrong is different than committing a crime.
For example lying is not considered as a crime but it is a wrong act that people carry
out without getting punished. But why do people commit crime? Some criminologists
believe that people commit crime because it is in their nature. It has been proved
that some people are more likely to commit crime than others due to the
circumstances that they grow up under. According to BBC Bitesize people with
anger issues have a higher possibility of committing a crime. Generally poverty, low
self esteem, drug and alcohol are known as the main causes of crime all around the
world.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Children in these families are at higher risk of committing crime than others. On
13/3/2012 government published Social Justice: Transforming lives which
explained government s plans for changing the lives of who have been struggling
with poverty. The government has identified 120,000 families whose lives are
chaotic and troubled. These families have caused 9 billion pounds damage. This is
not a huge amount money in contrast to the effects of poverty on children s lives.
Because children s lives get ruined due to poverty and no amount of money can fix
that. The program which the government aimed to perform suggested that
vulnerable parents that need support must be identified and helped from the early
days of their children s lives. Children have the right to grow up in a supporting
and loving atmosphere. Social Justice tries to help society function better. The
government admits that over the last decades has ignored the roots of causes of
poverty and this resulted in deepening social problems (GOV.UK, 2013). There are
some examples that demonstrate these social problems. One of these examples is
Barry. Barry s father was a drug dependent and his mother was an alcoholic. She
divorced Barry s father and married another man who physically abused Barry.
Barry was drinking at the age of 11 and using heroin at 15. He kept going to prison
for using drugs and violence. When
Evaluation Of A Team Training Program
If I were the coach of a softball team and had to formulate a pre season, in season,
and post season work out program I would start by making a list for each to stay on
track. For pre season, things I would bullet point would be; running, weight
training, skill specific sessions and learning strategies. Next would be for in
season practices and this is going to be my maintenance phase. Last is the post
season part that is focusing on getting ready for the next year so I would bullet
point these topics; weight training, running, skill specific practices, and leave room
for participation in other sports as well. A pre season training program should start
8 12 weeks prior to the first competition date (Powers 2012). This part of the season
is to increase energy systems used in this particular sport to their maximum
potential. With my softball team in a pre season session, I would start with weight
training and running to increase each individual player s strength and endurance.
Strength and endurance training should be done on alternating days to optimize
strength gains but can be done together depending on what the coach is trying to
accomplish. According to Powers, if these two types of training are done together,
there may be a lower gain in strength than with only strength training itself. Things
that I would like to do for endurance with softball players would be home to outfield
sprints with walk back recoveries about 8 to 10 times with 3 sets of high knee drills

Donald Trump Banning All Muslims Entering Us Analysis
Yesterday I read a news story, which was disturbing and left me in awe. The article
was titled Donald Trump: Ban All Muslims Entering US , by Ed Pilkington was
published in Guardian dated December 8, 2015(http://bit.ly/1OLTDLt). The story
talks about Trumps comments about denying entry to Muslims into United States.
Pilkington reported that Trump in a statement released by is campaign office
proposed to ban entry of Muslims to US as they pose a threat to country and people
living in United States. Pilkington stated that to justify his claims to banning
Muslims Trump presented polling which showed hatred of Muslims towards
Americans (Pilkington 2015). Pilkington reports Trump saying Shariah authorizes

According to Reid, counter myth is the reinterpretations of old myths in terms the
society now recognizes those ideas (Hexham, counter myths, 27 Jan 2016). Myths
are stories that affect people s lives as described Irving Hexham and Karla Poewe
in the book New Religions as Global Cultures (Hexham Poewe 1997, 174). Hexham
and Poewe aver that The importance of myths lie not with the particular qualities of
the story itself, but with the use which is made of the story. When a story acts upon
the imagination of an individual or collectivity in such a powerful way that it begins
to shape their lives, moulding their thoughts and directing their actions (Hexham
Poewe 1997,175). Trump s statement is representing counter myth in action; Trump
is using the action of some extremists to reinterpreting the idea of all Muslims being
violent, that all Muslims hate America to serve his political agenda. The message he
is sending out, whether or not its true is changing the basic beliefs about Americans
toward Muslims. These beliefs are bound to influence their actions and can provoke a
reaction that otherwise would not be a norm.
I believe that such views will have damaging effects on social life and relations
between people. People rely on their personal beliefs, myths, to shape their thoughts
about other individuals and communities. Redefining these views, counter myths,
What Role Did Thomas Aquinas Play In The Medieval
World
Thomas Aquinas is considered by many as the Church s greatest theologian and
philosopher. Living from 1225 to 1274, he was very influential in the realm of
scholasticism and was known as Doctor of the Church . He is a saint of the Catholic
Church and is a model teacher for those joining the priesthood. The philosophy of
Aquinas has exerted enormous influence on subsequent Christian theology, especially
that of the Roman Catholic Church, but also Western philosophy in general.
His Life and Role in the Medieval World:
The family of Thomas Aquinas was deeply involved in the politics of the time that
had pitted the pope against the Hold Roman Emperor. At the age of five, he was sent

Essentially, things are able to come into existence and they are able to pass out of
existence. Since it is possible for things to not exist, then there must have been a
point in time where nothing existed. However if nothing existed at one point then
nothing would exist even now, since everything that exists requires for its existence
something that already existed. Obviously it cannot be claimed that nothing exists
now. There must be something in which its existence is necessary. Since most
things come and go out of existence, it can be said that there existence is not
necessary as life goes on without them. Again it is impossible to have an a series of
necessary things go back to infinity there must be something that is necessary in
itself. This is God. Fourth, we as beings in the world have characteristics by which
we judge to varying degrees. Some people are more or less noble, or true, or good. All
of these characteristics have a maximum or perfect version. In that case, there must be
something which has set these standards, something that is the most noble or true or
good. Aquinas follows Aristotelian teachings in that things that are the greatest in
truth are also the greatest in being. There then must be something that is the cause for
all these maximums. And that is
Integrated Marketing Communications (
Introduction
Discussion of the concept Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) is highly
debatable with many varied views. This paper aims to discuss then main definitions,
issues, dimensions benefits and barriers surrounding the concept/process.
Definition of IMC
The definition of integrated marketing communications continues to evolve and
there is no shared agreement or meaning. Duncan and Everett (1993) claimed that it
is hard to reach a definition of IMC because it is a process and concept. Scholars,
agencies and clients all seem to have their own views because they all perceive it and
use the concept/process differently. Agencies and clients use it as management
practice to increase efficiency and boost the overall effectiveness ... Show more

Databases containing customer information is very easy to obtain through incentive
programmes. E.g. Tesco clubcard is essentially a sales promotion technique that
measures the consumption patterns of consumers. There is a strong need to share
information through two way communication or a relationship which can only be
built through IMC. (Schultz et al 1994). Duncan and Caywood (1996) explain that
building relationships helps create and nourish profitable relationships. The better
organisations understand consumer habits and behaviour the better they can target
their messages to their audience and through the right media channels. Through this
there is an increase in profits, productivity and improved efficiency which is an
organisation driver for IMC
Benefits of IMC
Many multinational companies such as Nestle, GM Motors and IBM are employing
IMC indicating that it is a concept/process that has positive results. Tom Reilly, head
of marketing communications at IBM said to help ensure that the brand is properly
maintained in the course of introducing each year, more than 1000 new products
ranging from floppy disks to mainframe computers. (Reilly 1991) (Duncan, Everett
1993).
Results from the survey (Duncan, Everett 1993) showed that 40 percent of
respondents either strongly agreed or disagreed that they would be more inclined to

The Serial Peripheral Interphase
The Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) is a synchronous bi directional (full duplex)
serial data protocol used by microcontrollers to enable communication between one
or more peripheral devices that are all of short distances to one another.
Furthermore, it can also be used for communication between two microcontrollers;
with particular interest between Arduino boards and Multiwii flight controllers. In
general, an SPI data link consists of one master; typically a microcontroller which
controls one or more peripheral devices known as slaves. Both the master and the
slaves share three common lines which include; MISO (Master In Slave Out)
which is responsible for transferring data from the slave to the master; MOSI
(Master Out Slave In) which is responsible for transferring data from the master to
the slaves; and SCK (Serial Clock) which is created by the master and is
responsible for synchronising the transmission of data between master and slave
in respect clock pulses. There is also SS (Slave Select) line that is specific to a pin
on each slave device and in which the master can use to enable and disable specific
slave devices. In the case a slave device s SS pin is low, communication is enabled
with the master. However in the case it is high, communication is disabled with the
master. This allows multiple devices using SPI to share common MISO, MOSI, and
CLK lines. Full duplex data transmission occurs during each clock cycle generated by
the master in which the master
Similarities Between The Loyalists And The Patriots
The revolutionary war was started on April 19, 1775 and ended on September 3,
1783. This war was a fight between the loyalist and the patriots. The Loyalist were
a group of people who as in their name was loyal to the king. The Patriots were a
group of people who wanted freedom so they moved away and became independent.
Between the Loyalist and the Patriots I would have to say the Patriots were better. I
am a Patriot because they were more independent, they broke away for their freedom
and independence. They helped the colonist that fought for their freedom from the
british. People in America felt they weren t being treated fairly. They were being
taxed without representation in the british government. That is why most people

Essay about Parents Hitting Their Children
Parents Hitting Their Children
For this coursework, I will be looking at whether parents should be allowed to hit
their children or children that are being looked after by them.
Like most questions there are usually two sides to the argument.
The 1st reason why parents should be allowed to hit their kids is to enforce a form of
discipline.
The other reason why hitting children is bad is because by hitting a child, they may
be emotionally scared for life.
Many people have different views on this topic; some are for it, some are against it.
The United Nations (UN) as a violation of basic human rights have condemned the
national U.K. law.
It says that some forms of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You have to be cruel to be kind =================================
For example, confiscating their toys wouldn t be as effective because the parents
may eventually give the toys back or may give into the child s request.
Other parents argue that hitting your child is wrong.
This is because hitting the child may upset them even after the discipline has been
enforced.
Hitting your child may physically and emotionally scar them. This could also make
the child form hatred towards the parent.
Some parents hit their child / children even though they may not want to. They can
lose their temper in the heat of the moment and can t physically stop themselves from
doing it.
Many of these parents should find counselling to help them overcome this problem.
When I was a child, my parents used to discipline me by hitting me but only if I
behaved very badly.
Looking back on it now, it wasn t so bad because they only ever hit me when I was
naughty and I was never emotionally or physically hurt from it. I was only
physically hurt for a moment but I guess that s one of the reasons why I behaved.
Over time I eventually learnt how to behave the way my parents wanted me to so
the hitting stopped. This made me the person I am today. I consider myself lucky
compared to other children who have been treated badly or hurt from their parents

Indian Ocean Tsunami On the date of December 27, 2004 something happened that
nobody could have imagined. One of the most devastating earthquake erupted under
the ocean as it happened near the Sumatra Island. The earthquake took place 6.2
miles under the water. The earthquake had a high magnitude of 9.0 on a Richter scale
which triggered a massive tsunami. Tsunamis are specific in their origins and result
from larger earthquakes. The tsunami that was caused by an earthquake had an
impact on many people and caused a lot of destruction that had to be fixed. A few
minutes after the earthquake, the water rose and the tsunami changed the world
forever. (1)
Tsunami is a Japanese word that means harbor wave . Tsunamis are giant sea waves
caused by large scale and sudden disturbance of seawater. (1).The earthquake
happened pretty close to Indonesia, but the tsunami was strong enough to crash into
many other countries. The waves traveled all the distance of the Indian Ocean. In
addition to Indonesia, the tsunami had killed people in other countries such as Sri
Lanka, Somalia, India, Thailand, Maldives, Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh,
Tanzania, Kenya, and Seychelles. The scientists claimed that the tsunami was so
powerful that it raised the water a little bit in Florida and New Jersey. The countries
that were on the part of Southeast Asia were all devastated. The statistics show that in

Gender Bias In Nursing Care Essay
Introduction When hiring at a workplace, such as a hospital, gender should not be a
discriminate when determining who is suitable for the position. When we look at
labor and delivery floors and maternity nursing, we see that there are more female
nurses employed than male. Due to the fact that more femalenurses work on labor and
delivery than males, we are looking further to find out if there are any specific
reasons or any genderbias contributing to this.
EBP Presentation Topic
Nursing, unlike any other profession, consists of both males and females. Even
though nursing is predominately women, male nurses represent 7% of the nursing
workforce (Budden et. Al., 2013). Since the ratio of female nurses is higher than male
nurses, there is controversy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Population of Interest
The population of interest is nurses that are working on labor and delivery floors in
hospitals. These nurses are both consisting of males and females, but our main focus
is the male nurses staffed on labor and delivery floors.
Intervention
Actively, there are more female nurses than male nurses in the nursing profession.
Most of the nurses that work on a labor and delivery floor are predominately female.
These nurses provide care to meet the needs of their patients no differently than any
other nurses working on another floor. There is currently no evidence containing
information that female nurses in women s health are providing exceptional care
compared to male nurses. (AWHOON, 2016)
Comparison Intervention
Recently, it was concluded that the nursing gender bias against men as nurses on
labor and delivery floors were started when the male nurse was in nursing school.
(Chang et. Al.,2010)
There has been a dramatic increase in enrollment of men in nursing school and due to
this, more male nurses are branching out into specialty areas, such as maternity
nursing. (AWHOON,

In the summer of 2013, my parents and I went to visit family friends in Hawaii. On
the sixth day of our 14 day stay, our friends said they wanted to take us to visit
Waipio Valley and do something special because it was Father s Day. I had seen a
shot of the valley lookout in a photo my Gram and Papa had taken when they
visited Hawaii several years before. I thought that it would be a pretty cool place to
go.
I was really excited to see Waipio Valley
. I wanted to explore the whole thing but was
disappointed when I saw the private property sign. I thought all I was going to see
was the view from the lookout, but my parents told me that our friends had made
arrangements with the farmer who owned the land. That s awesome! I said. My
parents and I were obviously very excited about this, but our excitement was no
match for the adventure we were about to have. Our expectations were immediately
put to shame. The entrance was a hill, not just any hill though. This hill had a 25%
grade, which is very steep, and we were in an old minivan. ... Show more content on

It was even more amazing than I had imagined. We could hear nothing but water
rushing and birds chirping. We could smell the sweet scent of hundreds of plumeria
blooms. It was the most amazing thing I had ever experienced.
After my family was done taking in the valley, we headed off to explore a bit more.
We had to hike about one and a half miles to get to the place our friends wanted to
show us. We had to walk through a grove of bamboo so dense that the sunlight
could barely penetrate all the leaves. The sunlight was as dappled as our family
Dachshund. We finally arrived at a creek that was at the base of a waterfall. I was
under the impression that we were there to see the waterfall, but
Difference Between Realistic And Nonrealistic Conflict
There are many was that people experience conflict throughout their day. This can
include conflict in the work place, at home, or even on video games. All these
opportunities to collide with conflict can make it difficult to determine what type
of conflict is occurring, and reach the best possible solution to the problem. There
are certain cues that can be seen when dealing with realistic, and nonrealistic
conflict. These include then end goals related to the conflict, flexibility, and the
interests of the parties involved within the conflict. Also, the appropriate response
to a non realistic conflict is to use force or coercion to resolve the issue. First
realistic conflict produces different cues from nonrealistic, and these can be used in
determining the type of conflict that is being dealt with. Realistic conflict are based
on disagreements over the means to an end or over the end themselves (, pp. 04).
This type of conflict can produce positive results for, but is difficult to determine
from nonrealistic. Some cues to help determine if a conflict is realistic include... Show

When examining these issues, it s possible to determine which conflict that is
being dealt with by looking at the cues that are provided. These cues include end
goals related to the conflict, flexibility, and the interests of the parties involved
within the conflict. Realistic conflict involves issues that can solved when party
are willing to work towards a common goal, and nonrealistic conflict occurs when
they are trying to win. Nonrealistic conflicts will consist of less flexible parties, and
are best handled with fore or coercion to reach an end goal. This will stop the
conflict from escalation or being all together avoided by the members involved.
Conflicts that are readily identified can be controlled, and the best solutions can be

This was my second day in California. On the 24th of December, we all agreed on
going to California for winter break. So, on the 25th of December in the afternoon
after we opened our presents, we all started packing everything only for three days. It
was about 9:00pm when we went to sleep because we all wanted my dad to rest so he
could drive the whole way. At 7:00 am on December 26th we all started to put things
in the car, all our luggage and backpacks, we also decided to bring our dog and some
food for later if we were hungry. We headed off at 8:30 so we could get to California
earlier. Right when we were on the road my brother and sister fell back asleep
because they were so excited they couldn t sleep last night so they passed out in the
car. So, we started to head to Utahand we were really nervouse the whole way. We

After a long drive that seemed like we were driving for ages we saw a sign and it

if I was excited said yes with an excited tone and a big smile. We kept on going still
very excited that we have just left Colorado and headed into Utah. When we drove
deeper into Utah, everything looked way different then Colorado. There were no
buildings and no people walking, running, or cycling. The rocks and sand were kind

Key Women s Issues in HR
We have to pass pay equity for women workers. It is not acceptable that women are
making 78 cents an hour compared to men, said democratic candidate Bernie
Sanders in a speech to the National Press Club in March of this year. 52 years after
the Equal Pay Act was passed, working women in the United States still face a gender
pay gap no matter what career they are in and while we have made progress since
1963, recently any improvement on the wage disparity has remained stagnant.
Woman have historically been treated unequally to men despite their non majority
status, and even to this very day in the year 2015 are still treated unequally and
discriminated against in the workforce.

Then, a little over a year later Title VII of Civil Rights Act of 1964 helped strengthen
the Equal Pay Act by prohibiting employee discrimination based on sex and almost
half a decade later President Obama passed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which
also helped strengthen the original Equal Pay Act as well as removed the statute of
limitation on filing for gender pay discrimination ( Everything You Need to Know
about the Equal Pay Act ).
Despite all of the efforts by politicians in the last decade, the gender pay gap in the
United States still continues to persist. A study conducted by the Pew Research
Center in the fall of 2014 looked at how the gender pay gap between men and
woman has narrowed, but still persisted. Over 30 years ago, a woman made 64
cents to the dollar that a man made fast forward to 2015 and women earn 79 cents
to a man s dollar. Despite this increase, the pay gap still persists and recently has
been shrinking much more slowly; from 1980 to 1990 the pay gap shrunk 11
cents, but only shrunk 3 cents between 1990 and 2000 and 6 cents more between
2000 and 2012. In spite of the gains made to narrow the gap, why does it still
persist? Many women have taken a significant amount of time off of work to care
for family members or quit all together according to those surveyed by the Pew
Research Center, 39% took time off to care for family, 42% had to reduce their
hours, and 27% quit work

In the advertisement for Shake `n Vac a woman is doing the vacuuming and dancing

it s always a man.

models. They were all skinny, they had really thick make up on and lots of them
were blonde. The dialogue included ôThe photographer slept with 300 womenö
and one of his models saying, ГґYeah I ll get my tits out for him.Г¶ The trailer was
representing all of the models as sluts.
Changing the channel to Challenge TV some more stereotypes of women
appeared. The females on the show were the presenter of the game show, Donna
Air, who had long curly blonde hair, and a shirt with half the buttons not done up
showing off her bra, and a contestant who also had blonde hair, had big boobs, and
was wearing a low cut top and was referred to by the other host as ГґSexy ZoГ™!Г¶

Modeling and Simulation
Modeling and Simulation
A Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real world process or system over
time. It involves the generation of an artificial history of a system and observation of
the artificial history to draw inferences concerning the operating characteristics of the
real system. Simulation can be used both as an analysis tool for predicting the effect
of changes to existing systems and as a design tool to predict performance of new
systems under varying sets of circumstances
Advantages of Simulation: 1 Choose correctly. 2 Time compression and expansion 3

2. By using simulation to perform bottleneck analysis, you can discover the cause of
the delays in work in process, information, materials, or other processes. 3. Simulation
studies aid in providing understanding about how a system really operates rather than
indicating an individual s predictions about how a system will operate 4. By
compressing or expanding time simulation allows you to speed up or slow down
phenomena so that you can thoroughly investigate them.
Lecture 2:
A system 1. A system is defined as a group of objects that are joined together in some
regular interaction or interdependence toward the accomplishment of some purpose
Example: Automobile factory Machines, parts, and workers operate jointly to
produce a vehicle Example: Computer network User, hosts, routers, lines establish a
network
2. A system is often affected by changes occurring outside the system. Such changes
are said to occur in the system environment.
Component of a System
Entity: an entity is an object of interest in the system.
Attribute: an attribute is a property of an entity.
Activity: an activity represents a time period of specified length.

The Assassination of the Mayor of Castro Street Essay
The Assassination of the Mayor of Castro Street and the Consensus of the Judicial
System
It was November 27th, 1978. There was a cheerful atmosphere in San Francisco s
City Hall that morning. Supervisor Harvey Milk s good mood was due to Mayor
George Moscone s upcoming announcement to the press. He was going to publicize
that he had decided not to reappoint the ultra conservative voice for the family , Dan
White, back to the board of supervisors. Harvey Milk was a fierce advocate of this
political move, for he was the first openly gay elected official, and thus, the most
important political leader for homosexuals at the time. Dan White, on the other hand,
enforced family values and therefore was not someone that supported this ... Show

He snuck through a window in City Hall just before the press conference was
scheduled to take place, and swiftly shot and killed both men in their own offices. He
confessed to the assassinations just hours later at the local police station.
Despite the evidence of premeditation, the obvious animosity between the assassin
and the victims, and the immediate confession, Dan White was only convicted of two
counts of voluntary manslaughter. He served five years in prison for his crime. In the
context of the assassination of two government officials, the jury s conviction is
almost inconsequential. To fully understand the implication of the term voluntary
manslaughter it is necessary to distinguish the different classifications of murder as
defined by California State law. The definition of murder constitutes both deliberation
and premeditation, while voluntary manslaughter is defined as the killing of another
human spontaneously with the lack of previous planning. After staying up all night,
Dan White called his secretary and asked for a ride to City Hall, having no purpose
to be in the building, due to the fact that he was no longer employed there. He
brought with him his gun, and because he brought ten extra bullets as well he clearly
had the intention of firing it. He had contemplated how to avoid the metal detectors at
the main entrance and
Peru s Human Development Index Essay
During the majority of the nineteenth century, Peru had consistently struggled with a
turbulent political history, especially regarding its stability. The incapability of
institutions to solidify, which contributes the the lack of political stability, occurred
from quick successions of government and constant reforms within the political
structure (Weeks, 2015). But regardless of Perus record of political instability, steps
have been taken in the recent years to consolidate its democracy and reach for
economic policies that are market friendly.
Although Peru is a developing country, it has a high human development index that
has been strengthening over the years. According to the Human Development
Reports from the United Nations Development Programme, Peru s Human
Development Index (HDI) ranking has increased from approximately .6 in 1990 to
.734 in 2014, and has retained this ranking the following year (UNDP, 2015). Peru
is also rated at 2.5 out of 7 in freedom (Freedom House, 2015). As for human
security, Peru has a homicide rate of 9.6 per 100,000 people, which is nearly
double the homicide rate of the United States (UNDP, 2015). According to the same
2014 reports, Peru s ranking under the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) is set
as .043, meaning that 10.4% of the population falls under multidimensional poverty,
and 2.1% live under severe multidimensional poverty (UNDP, 2015). From recent
years, there has been a rise of demand for a final solution to income
Why I Am A University Library
Until recently, I had no idea that there was a such thing as a Young Adult Librarian.
I had assumed that teaching would be the only job that would allow me to talk
about books and share my love of books with young adults; but then, one day I
happened to stumble upon a blog ran by someone who was sharing her experience as
a Young Adult Librarianand I knew instantly that I had found what I wanted to do
with my life. At this point, I started looking around for ways to be involved with my
university library, just so I could have a taste of what it was like to work in a library
setting. Since it is a university library, I knew that my opportunity to deal with
anything young adult would be pretty much non existent, so I decided to just use
the opportunity to learn whatever I possibly could about librarianship. I spent the
semester working with Collection Management and the Interlibrary Loan office and
I learned a little about the inner workings of those two areas, and a little about what
it meant to be a librarian. I still have my heart set on being a Young Adult Librarian
in the end, and I know without a doubt that a career as a librarian is right for me.
It is important to realize that being a young adult can be difficult, there are so many
new experiences and responsibilities that come with those years and it can be
overwhelming for many. I want to become a Young Adult Librarian so I can not only
be in a position to, but also know how to best help young adults navigate

5). As Brahms composed more works, Clara was always the first to publicly
perform the pieces. Around his fame period of 1878 1888, Brahms composed a set
of three violin sonatas for Joachim as gratitude for touring with Brahms across
Germany and later dedicated the first performance of the Violin Sonata No. 3 to
Hans von BГјlow, a later great friend of Brahms.
However, this particular violin sonata is different than the other two; the emotions of
this piece are more agitated and compromised with Brahms s undying emotions for
Clara. It is true, that the close relationship of Clara and Brahms truly did impact the
feelings behind Brahm s Violin Sonatas. The feelings Brahms expresses, are his
emotions and questions for Clara in this sonata; setting all different tones aside and

Pursuing A College Career
As a kid graduating from high school, going into the college life that I know will
be a long journey that might consist of being struggling some days. As once was a
little eight year old who has learned from their parents has decided a career that he
knows and loves to do has form a life changing moment. As the collegedays get
started, the classes and homework is teaching me more responsibility and skills
for my career choice and eventually the hard work will pay off. As of going to
different colleges to get a degree and graduate to find a job close to where I would

me like every other parent should. I knew a little at the time, but not much and one
day my mother told me to sit down with her and as she was telling me that
someday I will need to learn this. At first, I was confused why all of these numbers

Abc s Shark Tank
The business concept that was presented during season 3 episode 9 of ABC s
Shark Tank that I chose was Tower Paddle boards. Entrepreneur Stephan Aarstol
enters the Tank with an eye catching assistant dressed in a bikini and gives his pitch
on the fastest growing water sport in the world and is seeking 150k for 10% of his
company.
Stephan opens strong and talks about how Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) is the
fastest growing water sport in the world and that it can be learned in about 20
minutes. He then goes on saying that SUP is exploding and coming to every beach,
river and lake in the world. This focuses on how this business can absolutely
capitalize on a global market. He also relates it to surfing, bringing in a large customer

Robert thinks the value of his company is to high so he s out. Daymond quickly
follows suit. Kevin gives the first offer of $150K for a 50% stake and a 10% royalty
for the products that Stephan creates. Stephan declines his offer so the only Shark left
is Mark. Mark ends up offering $150K for 30% stake and the first right of refusal on
future businesses. This sparks Kevin to come back in and offer the same deal at
25% stake. Ultimately he chooses to take Mark s offer. The response from the rest
of the Sharks was disbelief that he came to a deal. I agree after watching the debacle
of a presentation.
Being able to look into the future and see that Tower Paddle Boards would end up
growing to a multi million dollar business as it has since Shark Tank, absolutely.
Based solely off this presentation, I probably would have not invested. The lack of
professionalism coupled with this overall sense of arrogance on how he felt he was
better than everybody else would have put a bad taste in my mouth about the whole
deal. You get one chance to make a first impression and if you rub people the wrong
way, sometimes there s no coming back from it. Lucky for Stephan one Shark made

Hollow Men Imagery
This is an interesting work as it threw me in a loop trying to understand the
imagery. His speaking of Hollow Men create an imagery of scarecrows with straw
in their hats. He speaks of hollow men who are stuffed, seemingly contradicting
himself in the first sentence until he mentions the hats filled with straw. He
seemingly speaks of scarecrows as they represent the human form but are lifeless,
empty, stuffed with hay. I am listening to the story these Hollow Men mean to tell
me, they whisper so softly the narrator compares it to wind in dry grass or rats feet
scurrying along over broken glass. The next part the Hollow Men describe themselves
as shape without form, shade without color, paralyzed force, gesture without motion.
Each of these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These others seem to acknowledge the Hollow Men as nothing more than
scarecrows rather than what they really are. I learn here that the hollow men are in
fact spirits or lost, violent souls. Our Hollow Men appear to have not crossed over,
as if they re in limbo. Previously they are mentioned as something yet nothing,
meaning that these hollow men are just people who have lost their humanity or
the qualities that made them human. The Hollow Men are frightened to meet the
gaze of the spirits who cross as if they think they are beneath these others. Until the
Hollow Man tells me that the kingdom is unlike paradise, there is a tree swinging,
and voices are in the wind s singing more distant and more solemn than a fading
star. He seems to have a fixation on eyes as if they are important as he explains
There, the eyes are Sunlight on a broken column . Now this imagery appeared to
me as a fractured incoherent mess as it said eyes were like sunlight cast onto a
broken column, but I came to the conclusion that the eyes see truth and truth can
be mostly be compared to light as like light helps you see and understand so does
truth. These eyes see the Hollow Men for what they truly are and the Hollow Men
are terrified of the image they see. The Hollow Men live in an incomprehensible
world and are terrified of knowing how things truly are so they stay
Analysis Of A Coward s Bravery
A Coward s Bravery
How much do you have to sacrifice to be a hero? Rachel Bublitz My Body is a one
act futuristic play in which a man, Patrick, applies to the government to have a
collar that controls his body removed. In a ploy to regain his self respect and right
to his body, Patrick is faced with a moral dilemma. Arthur Miller s Tragedyand the
Common Man claims that tragedy is felt by readers when a character is willing to
risk it all by laying down his life (267) in order to obtain their rightful position.
While Patrick does argue for his right to his body, when he is faced with the
possibility of permanent methods of containment (Bublitz 331) he ends his fight to
reclaim his dignity. Is Patrick still considered a tragic hero even though his bravery
was limited? According to Miller s theory he would not be, however his character
allows the audience to reflect on their own coward bravery while he highlights the
injustice within the world of the play and reality.
Patrick s character development throughout the play is a reflection of his degrading
environment in a society that is hostile to men. As a result, Patrick goes through
states of submissiveness and frustration qualifying him as a hero. According to
Elinor Fuchs Visit to a Small Planet: Some Questions to Ask a Play , the social
world of a play constructs not only the story it tells, but the characters it hosts. In
My Body, it is revealed that the world Patrick lives in oppresses men. Until they are

Plutonium-238
Isotopes are essential to the universe in a chemical and even a social aspect, standing
as a variation of an element portrayed as unique. Important questions surround
isotopes, how are they distinctive and ultimately what is an isotope? To answer that
question, isotopes are a form of an element that differs in the number of neutrons in
the nucleus but does not differ in protons of that element. An isotope in particular that
contributed to society is Plutonium 238, which is understood to be a radioactive
isotope. Understanding the basic structure according to the periodic table. Pu 238 has
an atomic numberof 94. This is what classifies it as plutonium due to its number of
protons. The atomic mass, which is the sum of protons and neutrons... Show more

Neptunium 238 undergoes beta decay which is when a proton is converted into a
neutron and a proton. The final product is plutonium 238. While plutonium 238
decays, it releases .5 watts of energy per gram. Due to this release of energy which
can be used as a viable fuel source, plutonium 238 is used in radioisotope
thermoelectric generators, early pacemaker batteries, as well as space satellites and
vehicles. Though the source is widely used by NASA, the production has run flat as
well as the amount of material running dangerously low. For continued and future
usage of plutonium 238, the U.S. is establishing plans in order to run a plant that
creates the isotope. Currently, Russia is the lead supplier of plutonium 238. The hope
is, by 2019, the isotopes production will run at full

Examples Of Managing Demand
Strategies for Managing Demand Shifting demand into other time periods
1.Incentives 2.Sales promotions 3.Advertising campaigns Offering products or
services with counter cyclical demand patterns Partnering with suppliers to reduce
information distortion along the supply chain Shifting demand into other time
periods: As a customer, I came across an examples of shifting the demand into other
time period many times and make me think why companies are offering such deal. It
is clean now that companies want to shift the demand of certain product into other
time period to keep revenue generation and balancing the demand. Winter coat: While

demand where company is offering services to their customer in northern America
during two different seasons. Lawn guru is providing Lawn mowing service during
the summer and snow cleaning during winter. It helps the company to balance the
business and optimal utilization of resource during idleness of the summer and
winter. Partnering with suppliers: The third approach to managing demand
recognizes the information distortion caused by ordering goods in batches along a
supply chain. Even though a customer may require daily usage of an item, customer
probably does not purchase that item daily. Neither do retail stores restock their
shelves continuously. By the time a replenishment order reaches distributors,
wholesalers, manufacturers, and their suppliers, the demand pattern for a product can
appear extremely erratic. To control the situation manufacturers, their suppliers, and
customers form partnerships in which demand information is shared and orders are
placed in a more continuous fashion. Hewlett Packard (HP): When HP executives
examined the sales of one of its printers at a major
Classical Conditioning Lab Report
Conditioning Experiment Lab Report: The Keys to a Child s Laughter
The statement that all human reflexes are because of interactions with the
environment encapsulates the whole idea of behavioristic psychology. Some of these
interactions come from conditioning, more specifically operant conditioning and
classical conditioning. The focus of this report will be classical conditioning. Russian
psychologist Ivan Pavlov was the researcher who defined classical conditioning with
his famous experiment that involved dogs associating salivation with a bell.
The focus of the investigation will be how classical conditioning affects children still
in Freud s anal psychosexual stage. This investigation will better show how children
in this stage comprehend and react to a stimulus. The expectation is that the child
will react and comprehend normal to the stimulus; though, the stimulus will go
extinct in the child quickly.
DESIGN
The taken design of this experiment was a classical conditioning one with its
components being: a Unconditioned Stimulus (US) a stimulus that occurs naturally, a
Neutral Stimulus (NS) stimulus that elicits no response, a Conditioned Stimulus (CS)
when a NS and a US are paired together to elicit the desired response, an
Unconditioned Response (UR) an unlearned response that occurs naturally to an
unconditioned stimulus, and a Conditioned Response (CR) a learned response to a
CS. PARTICIPANTS There was only one participant in this experiment. This
Guernica In Picasso And The Life Of Pablo Picasso
In the midst of political disparity in Spain between Nationalists and the Spanish
Republic there was a great act of terror. In a time when no combat had been seen
since that first world war, an act of unprovoked horror rained upon the small town of
Guernica in northern Spain. The act of intimidation was taking with disgust in the
eye of Picasso, which enacted his artistic statement. Guernica in Picasso s artistic life
represented his sentiments on terror and his people. Pablo Picassowas born a
Spaniard in the city of Malaga in 1881 to a professor of drawing, Jose Ruiz and
Maria Picasso. Pablo was naturally artistically talented and by the age of thirteen
he had surpassed the abilities of his father. By sixteen he had made a name for
himself after being awarded an honorable mention in a Fine Arts Exhibition in
Madrid. In the following years, Picasso suffered from the loss of close friend,
Carlos Casagemas, which strongly impacted his work. Marilyn McCully, a
biographical author, claimed that the death of Casagemas gave Picasso, the
emotional experience and the material that would stimulate the powerful
expressiveness of the works of the so called Blue Period (1). Picasso s Blue Period
is noted for its blue color and its characteristic expressive nature. In the works of
Picasso s Blue Period there is a common theme of strong emotional sorrow and
reflection which is relative to the artistic impact described by McCully. After moving
permanently to Paris, Picasso found new
Film Analysis of Twilight Samurai
Introdution
Twilight Samurai is a movie that revolves around the live of a samurai, years before
the Meiji Restoration. The main issues that the movie looked at include stereotype of
samurais, genders and social class differences. Unlike many typical samurai themed
movies which involve fighting, woman and pride, the director of Twilight Samurai
focused on the everyday life and difficulties faced by the main protagonist, Iguchi
Seibei.
His story was told by her daughter, Ito who narrated the whole movie. Therefore, it
can be said that this movie is based on the fond memories of her father. She was still
very young when these incidents happened which changed her father s life
irrevocably.
Samurai Stereotype
Unlike other samurais who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the way Iguchi live his life tells me that if he is given a choice, he
would definitely choose not be born to be a samurai. Although samurais are
considered to be nobility, he would rather give up this prestigious title to be a
humble farmer. This goes to show that he is a rather unambitious man, to the point of
almost lackadaisical, leading a simple life of growing crops and seeing his precious
daughters grow up.
Whilst Iguchi was inside the house to fight Zenemon Yogo, Iguchi did not have the
desire to fight and kill him. Instead, he sat down and chatted with Zenemon and told
him that he could still run if he wants to. He was hesitant about fighting and even
lied that his sword was a bamboo but a fight still ensued in the end. This was different
from the typical samurai who would begin fighting and slaying his enemies upon
seeing them.
When Tomoe brought Kayano and Ito to a festival which can only be attended by the
peasants, she told them that had it not been for the peasants, there would not have
samurais. Tomoe s opinions are forward thinking and do not think that samurais
should be forbid from the festival.
Gender Inequality
In the movie, women are seen to be unimportant and should only be housewives.
While Iguchi encouraged his daughters to study hard, their great uncle commented
that girls do not need to

  • 2. Critical Theory Choose 2 theories from Semester 1 and highlight the advantages and disadvantages of the theories application. In this essay two theories will be examined in regards to their advantages and disadvantages, when applied. For this, Feminism and Post Colonialism will be used, as both theories unite in their aim to deconstruct the dominant ideologies and stereotypes in a patriarchal and imperialistic white European male dominated society, thus overthrowing centuries of colonization, subordination, marginalization and exploitation Feminists seek to reconstruct decrepit ideas of femininity, and extinguish female oppression over the years. Feminist literary criticism, in the first and seconds waves, critique patriarchal language, by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nassab continues to say that Conrad may have been influenced by Authors with a similar view of Africa such as Henry Stanleys, The dark Continent Quoting Chinua Achebe, Nassaab tells us this was, and still is, The dominant image of Africa in the Western imagination and Conrad merely brought the peculiar gifts of his own mind to bear it . Conrads constant portrayal of Africans as Barbarians, and uneducated savages, reflects Africa as the antithesis of Europe. This preconception was based largely on a lack of knowledge thus leaving Europeans predisposed to viewing Africans in this way. Conrad represents Africa as Other , he sets in our minds; a place where man s vaunted intelligence and refinement are finally mocked by triumphant bestiality . (Achebe) Applying a post colonial critique to this text unveils Conrads biasness, nescience of and natural adherence to the discourse of his time. Feminist criticism in this way also points out the image of women as other . Just as Conrad harbors racist ideologies toward Africa, he also reveals his fixed interpretations and biased male vision of women. Conrad writes; Girl? What did I mention girl? Oh, she is out of it completely. They, the woman I mean are out of it should be out of it. We must help them stay in that beautiful world of their own, lest our gestures get worse. Here Conrad completely undermines womens intelligence by suggesting they are/can be nothing more than physically beautiful, painting an
  • 3. Class-Wide Positive Behavior Support In Preschool. Carter Class Wide Positive Behavior Support in Preschool Carter and Van Norman (2010), shed light on the significance of consulting teachers as they utilize Positive Behavior Support (PBS), a classroom management program. In addition, they explain whether or not PBS helps students academic engagement rise and diminishes challenging behaviors. PBS promotes developing and establishing a safe and predictable environment for students. In this particular study, teachers from four preschool classrooms in one of Nevada s early childhood educationcenters attended a presentation on PBS. Then, the teachers were instructed to implement PBS in their classrooms and were observed by several PBS consultants. During their first consultations with each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is suggested that teachers should display this schedule in their classrooms. The schedule should use a combination of words and pictures. Most importantly, it should be at eye level so that children can refer back to it at any time during the day. Schedules helps students be more aware of the current activity as well as the upcoming activities. This technique is appropriate for preschoolers, and children in a K 3 setting because they comprehend that their day has a certain structure. Moreover, they will utilize the schedule more than the infants or toddlers because it keeps them on track. PBS focuses on developing a positive environment for the students. One strategy that helps establish this type of environment is using a ratio of at least four positive statements to every negative statement (Carter, Van Norman, 2010, p. 3). This strategy is appropriate for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children in K 3 setting because positive statements motivate children and reinforce appropriate behaviors. Using positive statements, helps build self esteem and confidence in older students. NAEYC Code of Ethics The techniques and strategies mentioned in this journal comply with the NAEYC Developmentally and Culturally Appropriate Practices because are age appropriate and promote positive social emotional development. Furthermore, the techniques and strategies are also in concert with NAEYC s Code of Ethical Conduct. They help create and maintain safe and
  • 4. Leo Tolstoy s The Death Of Ivan Ilych If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things, quoth the great French philosopher Rene Descartes. This also essentially describes the meaning of Leo Tolstoy s The Death of Ivan Ilych. For if there was ever a man who but once and only once dared to doubt all things for the sake of truth, it was Ivan Ilych. This becomes evident when Mr. Ilych undergoes a profound spiritual reassessment as death draws nearer to him and a final spiritual reconciliation when he finally passes away at the end of the story. Specifically, Ivan Ilych undergoes this transformation as his death draws near and the falsity of the life he has lead dawns upon him in the very twilight of his life. This leads to a final reconciliation with the reality of his past... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because when Ivan Ilych is seen as an archetypal product of modern society, his individual experience gains a broader meaning applicable to people everywhere. Ivan Ilych is a worldly man who, like so many people, is preoccupied with worldly concerns. Moreover, the world in which he lives, like himself, is disingenuous. Everyone deals with each other in a polite and proper manner, but there is no conviction behind the sentimentalities and apparent friendliness that characterize Ivan Ilych s relationships; they are false. Ivan Ilych, however, is forced out of this comfortable falsity by his impending death. When he finally comes face to face with the ultimate reality, he rejects the life he has lived and embraces what he sees as the light. Thus Ivan Ilych, at his death, is finally born into a higher truth. Tolstoy, then, is calling on the readers to renounce the materialistic world and its pretense, to reconcile themselves to whatever truth lies beyond it just as Ivan Ilych did. Therein lies the significance of the

The kind that inhibits you from getting through your day, and doing what you need to? Well, it pains me to say it, but everyone will feel pain at least once in their life, and some people have it worse than others. People with severe or chronic pains usually will go to painkillers to relieve their pain and stress, but it s easy to get addicted. Worst case scenario is that a person could look to heroine in order to fill their craving for pain medication, after their prescription is finished. Studies show that about nine percent of Americans use pain medications, and 2% 3% of Americans abuse pain medications (not 2% 3% of painkiller users, but the general public). James Montier argues that, while the algebra of DCF is simple, neat and compelling, the implementation becomes a minefield of problems . He cites, in particular, problems with estimating cash flows and estimating discount rates. Despite the issues, DCF analysis is very widely used and is perhaps the primary valuation tool amongst the financial analyst community. 2.2. Terminal Value Terminal Value, in simple term, is the value of a company with an infinite row of constant future cash flows. To arrive at a total company value, or enterprise value, we simply have to take the present value of the cash flows and the Terminal value, divide them by the discount rate and, finally, add up the results. If we are discounting free cash flow of the firm at the weighted average cost of capital, this would give the value of the firm, so it would be necessary to deduct net debt in order to arrive at the equity value. In this report, simply use FCF in the year of 2011 to compare the value of the firm to the stock price in the year end of 2011. 2.3. Weighted Average Cost of Capital The Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) is the discount rate used in a Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis to present value projected free cash flows and terminal value.

  • 13. Medical Advancement As A Medical Doctor The individual in humanity is fueled by a passion he or she delves upon. It may range from an array of academics to public concerns to a philosophical emphasis. Therefore, I consider medical advancement as my enthusiasm to my intellectual character. As a young boy, the biology and chemical milieu of our body has always captured my attention since I was familiar on how the body s various organs were organized. As such, I consider my persona as positive, focally goal oriented, and optimistic in my morals As a toddler, my fascination with cars was a bit extreme. Collecting as many model vehicles as I could and memorizing all of the respective names by heart, I felt I was going to be an automotive professional. In a leisurely pursuit, my passion and knowledge for the anatomy of automobiles parallels my aspiration and interest in studying the human body and ultimately realizing my ambition in becoming a medical doctor. For those who have not focused on what s under the hood of a car, and are less fortunate in understanding all those mechanistic components, vehicles systems are analogous to the human body. Simply put, an engine s cooling system is like the body s circulatory system. When we have a fever, a sensor initiates our private thermostat, the hypothalamus, resulting in sweating and other ways of cooling. My fervor for automobiles derives from my close uncle, who unfortunately passed away in a vehicle accident with a traumatic head injury resulting in a hardship at the end

Indeed, this conflict remains one of the few areas of divergence between our converging two party structure. Yet, as is so often the case with pressing concerns in American politics, any real proposals have been drowned under the Washington bureaucracy. Unfortunately, the nation can no longer ignore the ever expanding education crisis plaguing the country, and Washington must consider school choiceas a remedy for the ailing public school system. Regardless of location, socioeconomic status, or religious affiliation, such schools have repeatedly proven to be better educators of America s youth children in such schools score higher on standardized tests and are more likely to attend college. Amazingly, these schools, especially Catholic schools, have achieved their success with noticeably smaller budgets. All of this evidence leads to the question: How have such schools achieved their substantial success? Opinions concerning the reasons for such success commonly cite such abstractions as values and discipline. Even those citing a core curriculum or a nurturing environment fail to recognize the true reason why school choice programs will have such a profound effect on the education system competition. Private schools have no public respirators sustaining their existence when it becomes known that they have failed in their mission. The choice is simple for private schools either educate well or close down. Faced with only a single option if they fail in their mission, private schools have

Through the studies of different reactions to taste, the hope is to get an overall assumption of taste perception for the population. Taste perception is based on the different amounts of fungiform papillae on the tongueand it will trigger differences in perceived taste intensities of other taste stimuli (Pelletier Steele, 2014, Reedy, Haines, Campbell, 2005, Bartoshuk,1993). Whereas Nagy, Steele, Pelletier (2014) mentions how as people progress in age their tongue changes over the years and loses taste buds, which with less taste buds they have a more likely chance of being a no taster. More than likely therefore the data showed a small percentage of no tasters because it is not as likely to occur in this median age bracket unless they were born with a gene change that makes them unable to taste bitterness. Those who are supertasters probably have the homozygous sensitivity and that is why they reacted so much to the strip (Dietsch, Solomon, Steele, Pelletier,

Some criminologists believe that people commit crime because it is in their nature. It has been proved that some people are more likely to commit crime than others due to the circumstances that they grow up under. Myths are stories that affect people s lives as described Irving Hexham and Karla Poewe in the book New Religions as Global Cultures (Hexham Poewe 1997, 174). Hexham and Poewe aver that The importance of myths lie not with the particular qualities of the story itself, but with the use which is made of the story. When a story acts upon the imagination of an individual or collectivity in such a powerful way that it begins to shape their lives, moulding their thoughts and directing their actions (Hexham Poewe 1997,175). Trump s statement is representing counter myth in action; Trump is using the action of some extremists to reinterpreting the idea of all Muslims being violent, that all Muslims hate America to serve his political agenda. The message he is sending out, whether or not its true is changing the basic beliefs about Americans toward Muslims. These beliefs are bound to influence their actions and can provoke a reaction that otherwise would not be a norm. People rely on their personal beliefs, myths, to shape their thoughts about other individuals and communities. Redefining these views, counter myths,

Since it is possible for things to not exist, then there must have been a point in time where nothing existed. However if nothing existed at one point then nothing would exist even now, since everything that exists requires for its existence something that already existed. Obviously it cannot be claimed that nothing exists now. There must be something in which its existence is necessary. Since most things come and go out of existence, it can be said that there existence is not necessary as life goes on without them. Again it is impossible to have an a series of necessary things go back to infinity there must be something that is necessary in itself. This is God. Fourth, we as beings in the world have characteristics by which we judge to varying degrees. Some people are more or less noble, or true, or good. All of these characteristics have a maximum or perfect version. In that case, there must be something which has set these standards, something that is the most noble or true or good. Aquinas follows Aristotelian teachings in that things that are the greatest in truth are also the greatest in being. There then must be something that is the cause for all these maximums. And that is

The Serial Peripheral Interphase The Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) is a synchronous bi directional (full duplex) serial data protocol used by microcontrollers to enable communication between one or more peripheral devices that are all of short distances to one another. Furthermore, it can also be used for communication between two microcontrollers; with particular interest between Arduino boards and Multiwii flight controllers. In general, an SPI data link consists of one master; typically a microcontroller which controls one or more peripheral devices known as slaves. Both the master and the slaves share three common lines which include; MISO (Master In Slave Out) which is responsible for transferring data from the slave to the master; MOSI (Master Out Slave In) which is responsible for transferring data from the master to the slaves; and SCK (Serial Clock) which is created by the master and is responsible for synchronising the transmission of data between master and slave in respect clock pulses. There is also SS (Slave Select) line that is specific to a pin on each slave device and in which the master can use to enable and disable specific slave devices. In the case a slave device s SS pin is low, communication is enabled with the master. However in the case it is high, communication is disabled with the master. This allows multiple devices using SPI to share common MISO, MOSI, and CLK lines. Full duplex data transmission occurs during each clock cycle generated by the master in which the master

On the sixth day of our 14 day stay, our friends said they wanted to take us to visit Waipio Valley and do something special because it was Father s Day. I had seen a shot of the valley lookout in a photo my Gram and Papa had taken when they visited Hawaii several years before. I thought that it would be a pretty cool place to go. I was really excited to see Waipio Valley . I wanted to explore the whole thing but was disappointed when I saw the private property sign. I thought all I was going to see was the view from the lookout, but my parents told me that our friends had made arrangements with the farmer who owned the land. That s awesome! I said. My parents and I were obviously very excited about this, but our excitement was no match for the adventure we were about to have. Our expectations were immediately put to shame. The entrance was a hill, not just any hill though. This hill had a 25% grade, which is very steep, and we were in an old minivan. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We had to hike about one and a half miles to get to the place our friends wanted to show us. We had to walk through a grove of bamboo so dense that the sunlight could barely penetrate all the leaves. The sunlight was as dappled as our family Dachshund. We finally arrived at a creek that was at the base of a waterfall. I was under the impression that we were there to see the waterfall, but
  • 32. Difference Between Realistic And Nonrealistic Conflict There are many was that people experience conflict throughout their day. This can include conflict in the work place, at home, or even on video games. All these opportunities to collide with conflict can make it difficult to determine what type of conflict is occurring, and reach the best possible solution to the problem. There are certain cues that can be seen when dealing with realistic, and nonrealistic conflict. These include then end goals related to the conflict, flexibility, and the interests of the parties involved within the conflict. Also, the appropriate response to a non realistic conflict is to use force or coercion to resolve the issue. First realistic conflict produces different cues from nonrealistic, and these can be used in determining the type of conflict that is being dealt with. Realistic conflict are based on disagreements over the means to an end or over the end themselves (, pp. 04). It is not acceptable that women are making 78 cents an hour compared to men, said democratic candidate Bernie Sanders in a speech to the National Press Club in March of this year. 52 years after the Equal Pay Act was passed, working women in the United States still face a gender pay gap no matter what career they are in and while we have made progress since 1963, recently any improvement on the wage disparity has remained stagnant. Despite all of the efforts by politicians in the last decade, the gender pay gap in the United States still continues to persist. A study conducted by the Pew Research Center in the fall of 2014 looked at how the gender pay gap between men and woman has narrowed, but still persisted. Over 30 years ago, a woman made 64 cents to the dollar that a man made fast forward to 2015 and women earn 79 cents to a man s dollar. Despite this increase, the pay gap still persists and recently has been shrinking much more slowly; from 1980 to 1990 the pay gap shrunk 11 cents, but only shrunk 3 cents between 1990 and 2000 and 6 cents more between 2000 and 2012. In spite of the gains made to narrow the gap, why does it still persist? In a ploy to regain his self respect and right to his body, Patrick is faced with a moral dilemma. Arthur Miller s Tragedyand the Common Man claims that tragedy is felt by readers when a character is willing to risk it all by laying down his life (267) in order to obtain their rightful position. While Patrick does argue for his right to his body, when he is faced with the possibility of permanent methods of containment (Bublitz 331) he ends his fight to reclaim his dignity. Is Patrick still considered a tragic hero even though his bravery was limited? According to Miller s theory he would not be, however his character allows the audience to reflect on their own coward bravery while he highlights the injustice within the world of the play and reality. Patrick s character development throughout the play is a reflection of his degrading environment in a society that is hostile to men. As a result, Patrick goes through states of submissiveness and frustration qualifying him as a hero. According to Elinor Fuchs Visit to a Small Planet: Some Questions to Ask a Play , the social world of a play constructs not only the story it tells, but the characters it hosts. In My Body, it is revealed that the world Patrick lives in oppresses men. Until they are married

Important questions surround isotopes, how are they distinctive and ultimately what is an isotope? To answer that question, isotopes are a form of an element that differs in the number of neutrons in the nucleus but does not differ in protons of that element. An isotope in particular that contributed to society is Plutonium 238, which is understood to be a radioactive isotope. Understanding the basic structure according to the periodic table. Pu 238 has an atomic numberof 94. This is what classifies it as plutonium due to its number of protons. The atomic mass, which is the sum of protons and neutrons... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Neptunium 238 undergoes beta decay which is when a proton is converted into a neutron and a proton. The final product is plutonium 238. While plutonium 238 decays, it releases .5 watts of energy per gram. Due to this release of energy which can be used as a viable fuel source, plutonium 238 is used in radioisotope thermoelectric generators, early pacemaker batteries, as well as space satellites and vehicles. Though the source is widely used by NASA, the production has run flat as well as the amount of material running dangerously low. For continued and future usage of plutonium 238, the U.S. is establishing plans in order to run a plant that creates the isotope. Currently, Russia is the lead supplier of plutonium 238. The hope is, by 2019, the isotopes production will run at full

Even though a customer may require daily usage of an item, customer probably does not purchase that item daily. Neither do retail stores restock their shelves continuously. By the time a replenishment order reaches distributors, wholesalers, manufacturers, and their suppliers, the demand pattern for a product can appear extremely erratic. To control the situation manufacturers, their suppliers, and customers form partnerships in which demand information is shared and orders are placed in a more continuous fashion. Classical Conditioning Lab Report Conditioning Experiment Lab Report: The Keys to a Child s Laughter The statement that all human reflexes are because of interactions with the environment encapsulates the whole idea of behavioristic psychology. Some of these interactions come from conditioning, more specifically operant conditioning and classical conditioning. The focus of this report will be classical conditioning. Russian psychologist Ivan Pavlov was the researcher who defined classical conditioning with his famous experiment that involved dogs associating salivation with a bell. The focus of the investigation will be how classical conditioning affects children still in Freud s anal psychosexual stage. This investigation will better show how children in this stage comprehend and react to a stimulus. The expectation is that the child will react and comprehend normal to the stimulus; though, the stimulus will go extinct in the child quickly. DESIGN The taken design of this experiment was a classical conditioning one with its components being: a Unconditioned Stimulus (US) a stimulus that occurs naturally, a Neutral Stimulus (NS) stimulus that elicits no response, a Conditioned Stimulus (CS) when a NS and a US are paired together to elicit the desired response, an Unconditioned Response (UR) an unlearned response that occurs naturally to an unconditioned stimulus, and a Conditioned Response (CR) a learned response to a CS. • 55. Guernica In Picasso And The Life Of Pablo Picasso In the midst of political disparity in Spain between Nationalists and the Spanish Republic there was a great act of terror. In a time when no combat had been seen since that first world war, an act of unprovoked horror rained upon the small town of Guernica in northern Spain. The act of intimidation was taking with disgust in the eye of Picasso, which enacted his artistic statement. Guernica in Picasso s artistic life represented his sentiments on terror and his people. Pablo Picassowas born a Spaniard in the city of Malaga in 1881 to a professor of drawing, Jose Ruiz and Maria Picasso. Pablo was naturally artistically talented and by the age of thirteen he had surpassed the abilities of his father. By sixteen he had made a name for himself after being awarded an honorable mention in a Fine Arts Exhibition in Madrid. In the following years, Picasso suffered from the loss of close friend, Carlos Casagemas, which strongly impacted his work. Marilyn McCully, a biographical author, claimed that the death of Casagemas gave Picasso, the emotional experience and the material that would stimulate the powerful expressiveness of the works of the so called Blue Period (1). Picasso s Blue Period is noted for its blue color and its characteristic expressive nature. • 56. Film Analysis of Twilight Samurai Introdution Twilight Samurai is a movie that revolves around the live of a samurai, years before the Meiji Restoration. The main issues that the movie looked at include stereotype of samurais, genders and social class differences. Unlike many typical samurai themed movies which involve fighting, woman and pride, the director of Twilight Samurai focused on the everyday life and difficulties faced by the main protagonist, Iguchi Seibei. His story was told by her daughter, Ito who narrated the whole movie. Therefore, it can be said that this movie is based on the fond memories of her father. She was still very young when these incidents happened which changed her father s life irrevocably. Samurai Stereotype Unlike other samurais who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, the way Iguchi live his life tells me that if he is given a choice, he would definitely choose not be born to be a samurai. Although samurais are considered to be nobility, he would rather give up this prestigious title to be a humble farmer. This goes to show that he is a rather unambitious man, to the point of almost lackadaisical, leading a simple life of growing crops and seeing his precious daughters grow up. Whilst Iguchi was inside the house to fight Zenemon Yogo, Iguchi did not have the desire to fight and kill him. Instead, he sat down and chatted with Zenemon and told him that he could still run if he wants to. He was hesitant about fighting and even lied that his sword was a bamboo but a fight still ensued in the end. This was different from the typical samurai who would begin fighting and slaying his enemies upon seeing them. When Tomoe brought Kayano and Ito to a festival which can only be attended by the peasants, she told them that had it not been for the peasants, there would not have samurais. Tomoe s opinions are forward thinking and do not think that samurais should be forbid from the festival. Gender Inequality In the movie, women are seen to be unimportant and should only be housewives. While Iguchi encouraged his daughters to study hard, their great uncle commented that girls do not need to
