1. Compare Two People Essay
Writing a "Compare Two People Essay" can be a challenging task, as it requires a careful
examination of the similarities and differences between two individuals. The difficulty lies not
only in conducting thorough research on both subjects but also in crafting a well-structured and
coherent essay that effectively communicates these comparisons.
Firstly, one must invest time in gathering relevant information about the two people being
compared. This involves researching their backgrounds, achievements, personalities, and any
other aspects that contribute to a comprehensive understanding of each individual. This process
can be time-consuming, especially when dealing with notable figures who have a vast body of
work or a complex history.
Once the research is complete, the challenge is to organize the information in a logical and
engaging manner. Crafting a compelling introduction that captures the reader's attention,
followed by body paragraphs that present clear and concise points of comparison, demands a
high level of organizational skill. Furthermore, striking the right balance between highlighting
similarities and differences while maintaining a coherent flow can be intricate.
Additionally, writing a conclusion that ties together the key points without introducing new
information requires finesse. It should leave a lasting impression on the reader and summarize the
main insights derived from the comparison. Striking this balance can be a delicate task, as too
much emphasis on one aspect may overshadow the other.
The overall difficulty intensifies when considering the need for a unique perspective. Merely
listing facts without providing insightful analysis may result in a bland and unremarkable essay.
It's essential to offer a fresh perspective that encourages critical thinking and engages the reader
in a thought-provoking manner.
In conclusion, composing a "Compare Two People Essay" demands extensive research, strong
organizational skills, and a unique analytical perspective. It is a task that challenges the writer to
present information coherently, balance similarities and differences effectively, and leave a
lasting impact on the reader. For those who find themselves struggling with such assignments,

The author Ken Kesey was born in La Junta, Colorado and went to Stanford
University. He volunteered to be used for an experiment in the hospital because he
would get paid. In the book One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest , Kesey brings up
the past memories to show how Bromden is trying to be more confident by using
those thoughts to make him be himself. He uses Bromden s hallucinations, Nurse
Ratched s authority, and symbolism to reveal how he s weak, but he builds up more
courage after each memory. It first started out as a hallucination for Bromden to
show how he portrays his current situations in a different perspective .In the
beginning of the novel, Kesey indicates that it s not so thick but what [he] can see if

About more than half of the novel, Bromden had another flashback where [he]
tried to look where the dog was looking to see if [he] could find the flock, but it
was too dark (Kesey 142). In this case Bromden is the dog because he s too afraid
to talk, he just stands there and endures it like the dog looking for the flock for
help. Bromden s always stuck in the dark which is the fog Bromden usually
fantasizes. Before McMurphy was going to leave to go fishing Bromden had the

The fishing refers to how of all people Bromden is in the ward and has to be that

Bromden was hiding when he saw [her] carrying her woven wicker bag like the

bag is what she uses to fix them up. The bag is a representation of how Nurse
3. The Great Depression Of Modern Americans
It is crazy to think about how far the world has come in its developments, especially
those taking place for over the past century. In areas such as the government,
education, and specifically technology, a number of American people would likely
agree that they are astonished by the radical changes taking place in every aspect of
our world. What we must ask ourselves though, is are we satisfied with the
improvements made? In other words, at what point must development reach in order
to provide contentmentto those affected by it? If asked this question, the typical
response of a person would include where they stand on the subject and where they
picture its modifications bringing it to. The real problem here, however, is that it

As companies produce material goods, they attach slogans or statements (such as
to declare the nutritional value of the product or the quality of a videogame) all in
hopes that they will persuade customers that their product will prove itself
satisfactory. Due to the fast paced society that we live in, people are always
searching for a quick fix, but we are often disappointed when we do not see the
desired results in the typically short time span that we set for ourselves. These are
just a few situations in which humans learn for themselves that satisfactory
feelings only last a moment and when they leave us, we are left to find our own
happiness even if that means it is only temporary. Every year, United States
citizens are reminded of our dependence on material goods just over the duration of
a single day: Black Friday. Black Friday is an annual shopping extravaganza in
which customers craze over slashed prices and the release of the newest
technology. Not only are people able to get a large chunk of their holiday shopping
done, their purchases also help to boost our nation s economy. People may wonder
why the United States even has this day and the most simple and logical way to
put it would be for revenue. The companies are fully aware of our innate greed over
materialistic goods so they use it to their advantage to create products that will serve
us for years to come, or more
4. Analysis Of Jean Sibelius s 7th Symphony
The music of Jean Sibelius during the late Romantic era is highly regarded as the
most well known music to come out of Finland. By the late Romantic period, other
nationalities had established their own individual takes on classical music;
Sibelius was able to give Finland a sense of identity in music, as the country was
just beginning to create its own identity in the wake of liberation from Russia. As
history s most prominent Finnish composer, Jean Sibelius had a tragic collapse of
his career as a composer. While Sibelius passed away in 1957, the final period of
productivity that the composer displayed was in the 1920 s and briefly into the
1930 s. Jean Sibelius struggled heavily with alcoholism as he became more and
more recognized in the musical world and used alcohol to cope with the anxiety
that came with conducting premieres of his works, which he began to do more
frequently as time progressed (www.sibelius.fi). Regarding his output in the 1920 s,
many of his works were for solo piano and his only orchestral works were the tone
poem Tapiola and the 6th and 7th symphonies. The tone poem actually ended up
being Sibelius final complete composition (Service). It is also worth noting that his
6th and 7th symphonies are quite different in several different ways; an examination
of the 7th symphonyregarding form and analysis is to follow. A very broad
exploration of the 7th symphony reveals several unique characteristics that have
rarely been seen in orchestral
5. Nietzsche and Gandhi, Society
Friedrich Nietzsche and Mahatma Gandhi, two mammoth political figures of their
time, attack the current trend of society. Their individual philosophies and concepts
suggest a fundamental problem: if civilization is so diseased, can we overcome this
state of society and the sickness that plagues the minds of the masses in order to
advance? Gandhi and Nietzsche attain to answer the same proposition of sickness
within civilization, and although the topic of unrest among both may be dissimilar,
they have parallel means of finding a cure to such an illness as the one that plagues
society. Nietzsche s vision of spiritual health correlates directly with Gandhi s image
of industrialism and the self sufficiency. This correlation prevails by... Show more

This situation exemplifies everything that Gandhi was attempting to convey about the
over indulgence of man as aided by doctors. Because of the doctoral profession,
Nietzsche states, my body... felt more at ease; but my mind became weakened
(Nietzsche 33). By weakening the minds of the public, doctors are directly
contributing to the sickness of civilization. Nietzsche reveals slave and master
morality as a paramount concept, conveying the power of the wealthy and
prominent over the poor and downtrodden. Nietzsche states that In order to exist,
slave morality always first needs a hostile external world; it needs... external stimuli
in order to act at all its action is fundamentally reaction (Nietzsche 37). The weak,
passive, cowardly, and sick are reacting to the overbearing nature of the nobility. The
lower, sickened class is insecure and unable to act because they know that they are
weak. They have the fundamental drive in the universe, the will to power, yet they
are unable to act, rather they can merely react to the harsh and unjust situations that
external world is placing on them. They harbor a ressentiment towards the elite The
cure of such a sickness in civilization would not come easily. Nietzsche s treatment
would be to capitalize on the will to power. Every person is driven by a force to
overcome their oppression, and find the happiness in slight superiority, involved
6. The Dawes Act Of 1887
Indigenous peoples of the United States have been persecuted against since the birth
of the nation. As years progressed, the Indians were stripped of their identity and
exposed to the realities of the American lifestyle a lifestyle that failed to coincide with
the traditions and culture they possessed years prior to the influx of Americans into
western territory. As desire for this territory increased due to economic ventures, and
the ultimate desire to expand due to Manifest Destiny, measures needed to be taken to
ensure the land was to be in full possession of the government. Thus, the Dawes Act
was enacted in 1887, which allotted new lands to Indians in exchange for American
citizenship. While its promise could be construed as a generous gesture by the
government, the act in reality was nothing but a gesture; it was a burden. Therefore,
the Dawes Act of 1887, along with other attempts of Indian assimilation, threatened
family ties and culture, stripped them of sacred lands, and proved that citizenship
came with a fatal denunciation of their culture. The Dawes Act not only impacted the
current inhabitants of the indigenous lands, it also affected the future generation of
Indians; since the culture was being readjusted to be acceptable for American
standards. On the new lands granted to the Indians were private government run
boarding schools in order to successfully assimilate children of the native population
into society. In Document F, the weekly lesson plan of the Day

The first battle of the Persian War, the Battle of Marathon, took place in 490 BC.
King Darius sent troops to Greece which stopped at each Greek island along the way
demanding earth and water, which both literally and symbolically represented
submission to the Persian empire. The Battle of Marathon exemplifies the heroic
action of the Greeks. The Athenians, led by one of their ten generals, Miltiades,
unflinchingly faced the Persians, an army over twice the size of theirs, and
triumphed. The Athenians won the Battle of Marathon because they employed
superior military strategy. There are some discrepancies, however, between different
literary sources about how the Greeks fought the Battle of Marathon. For instance,
Herodotus claims that the ten Athenian generals could not decide whether to go into
battle. He writes that Miltiades talked the other generals into fighting. Herodotus
writes that they waited for days for Miltiades to lead the army, and then they went
into battle (Hdt. 6.110 111.2). According to Nancy Demand, however, Herodotus,
unaware of the right of the polemarch to make all final decisions, wrote that Miltiades
decided when to lead the men into battle, because the longer they delayed the battle,
the better chance the Athenians had that the Spartans would make it in time to help.
Regardless of any conflict between sources, the heroism of the Athenians cannot be
denied. Marathon represents the victory of a small contingent of men fighting

9. Dwarfism
Dwarfism
Dwarfism is short stature that results from a genetic or medical condition. Dwarfism
is generally defined as an adult height of four feet ten inches or less. The average
adult height among people with dwarfism is four feet.
Dwarfism is generally divided into two broad categories: Disproportionate Dwarfism
(DD), some body parts are small and other larger, and Proportionate Dwarfism
(PD), all parts of the body are smaller than an average person s but are
proportionate. Most people with dwarfism have DD which means they have an
average sized trunk and very short limbs, but some people have a very short trunk
and shortened but larger limbs. The head may also be overly large compared to the
body.

Diagnosing a child with dwarfism is based off of height measurements, usually
performed at annual well child exams, but if dwarfism is suspected the doctor may
want to measure more often than yearly. The doctor will watch the physical
appearance of a person for skeletal and facial signs, and most likely take x rays to
check skeletal abnormalities. Other diagnostic tests include genetic testing, but this
may not be necessary, and hormone tests to assess the levels of growth hormones
and of course and extensive family history to see if the average height in a person s
family is of short stature.
Treatment options include surgical procedures that may correct the bones in little
people like, dividing a limb bone, straightening it and inserting metal plates to hold it
in place. Another procedure is inserting rods or staples to help correct the shape of
the spine.
Some people decide to undergo limb lengthening surgery. With this procedure, the
surgeon divides a long bone into two or more sections, separates the sections slightly
and braces the bone and limb with external metal scaffolding. Pins and screws on this
frame are periodically adjusted to keep tension between the sections, enabling the

10. Cause And Effect Of Alcohol Abuse
Effects of Alcohol Abuse 15.1 million adults aged 18 and over suffer from alcohol
abuse in the United States. Alcohol abuse is the harmful use of alcohol, despite its
negative consequences on the individual, such as interfering with daily activities.
Although some studies show that moderate alcohol usage can benefit one s health, it
is commonly agreed that the negatives heavily outweigh the positives. About ten
percent of children in the United States lives with a parent who abuses alcohol and
about 88,000 people die yearly from alcohol poisoning in the United States.
Therefore, alcohol abusemay have impacts on one s family life and their
physiological state. To begin, alcohol abuse may have an effect on one s family
life. Children, growing up around a parent who abuses alcohol may lead a life of
both psychological and emotional problems, and these children may also be
vulnerable to alcohol related physical and/or verbal abuse. Alcoholic parents may
also influence their kids to grow up with the same habits, as children who have at
least one alcoholic parent are about 3 4 times likely to abuse alcohol when they re
older, compared to children that do not. In addition, having alcoholic parents may
influence a student s academics. In one study, 41% of addicted parents reported that
at least one of their children repeated a grade in school, 19% were involved in
truancy, and 30% had been suspended from school (cite). Students who have
alcoholic parents are reported to have

finds problems like these somewhat unfathomable. His wealth and social class has
not allowed him to experience such situations as Tess. Once again, differences such
as these break the ties of the unification of true love.
Tess, unlike Angel, was taken advantage of. In different stages of her life, she is used
in more ways than one. Angel never was, and could not understand to what extent
Tess s trauma has been stretched to. Tess is taken advantage of both knowingly, and

Bonds act as an investment instrument which the investors invest their money to the
bonds and bonds can provide a means of preserving capital and earning a predictable
return. While many investments provide some form of income, bonds tend to
provide the highest and most reliable source of income. Even at the time of low
interest rates, there are still plenty of options (such as high yield bonds and emerging
market bonds), investors can use it to construct a portfolio that will meet their income
needs. The most important thing is diversified bondportfolio can provide decent yields

13. Mao Zedong Of The World Essay
Though Mao Zedong would argue the people wield the power to change history, they
do not. Perhaps they should, but that concerns epistemological questions. And while
elements of Mao s perspective that the people comprise the motive force in the
making of world history wafted around in compelling the U.S. to intervene in Iraqin
2003, it is not a sufficient explanation. The people did not form the chief reason for
the Iraqi campaign, and certainly did not originate the intervention alone , as Mao s
philosophy would suggest. Alternatively, Scottish philosopher Thomas Carlyle
contends, The history of the world is but the biography of great men. He rightly
locates the locus of watershed moments in history: great men. At the very least, a
few powerful men ultimately control the people s destiny both near to and far from
home. In reality, a small, elite group of individuals set the agenda for world order. As
evidenced by the 2003 Iraq War, a tight circle of plutocrats the president, his advisors,
and those with skin in the financial game can steer the course for two entire nations
for a decade.
The Bush Doctrine vastly expanded what the United States deems a vital interest
dragging preГ«mptive action, unilateralism, and anti terrorism under its umbrella.
Democratizing nations plays a critical role in the strategy as well. A spirit of
liberalism flows through the Doctrine, as it attempts to depose tyrannical dictators to

Hitler s features are drawn as innocent and almost childlike. This characteristic
speaks to the date of the cartoon. In 1939 Hitler was not seen as a large threat. To
some, he was just a crazy politician. By drawing Hitler in a cute way, Alain can
insult Hitler. Also, Alain might be commenting on Hitler s childlike behavior;
Hitler does what he wants without thinking about the consequences. In contrast to
the innocent Hitler, Stalin is very stern. His hand is in a military pose and he
almost looks angry. In the cartoon, Stalin might be angry that Germany betrayed
him by throwing the boomerang. However, in context of the year Germany had
not yet done anything to upset the Soviet Union so this is just a prediction of the
future. Hitler, hit on the head by the boomerang, was not expecting it to come
back. He underestimated the strength of the Soviet Union and it came back to hurt
him. A flaw of Hitler s later in the war was that he misjudged the Soviet Union.
Overy says that Hitler believed nothing less than that the Soviet Union could be
defeated in four months (Overy 13). Hitler s belief that the Soviet Union was weak is
a flaw that can be seen even before he decided to invade

Europeans, such as the English, yearned to escape the harsh conditions of the

production, and lack of opportunity for the poor are only a few of the reasons that
drove the Europeans off to the New World. However, both the New England and
Southern colonies desired the luxuries that resulted from the discovery of gold.
Europeans felt they had a sacred obligation to spread their faith to the new lands yet

Another way Isbell weakens his argument is through verb usage. Much of his article
is written in the subjunctive mood and uses verbs in the present perfect tense, which
makes the article more informative than persuasive. For example, he writes It is
possible to place the learning examples discussed above on a continuum of sorts... His
use of subjectivity weakens his statements, undermining the overall claim. Although
in a professional field like educationthere are areas where it is appropriate to

19. Economic Inequality In The United States
With more attention being paid to economic inequality in the United States, it s
also worth looking at how the nation compares globally , says Drew Desilver.
People tend to want to be wealthy like the upper class because we fear poverty,
when in reality it is one of the highest global risk concerns. Reasons are led to
believe because of technology, changes in organizations and jobs, and the differences
in education. Povertyis the state of being inferior in quality or insufficient in amount.
The Census Bureau uses two similar versions of money salary thresholds that
fluctuate by household size and distribution to determine who is in poverty. If a
household total income is less than the appropriate households threshold, then every

A)The path that lead me to choose Sport Management as a major began at a young
age where I demonstrated my admiration for sports. I have been participating in
sports my entire life and still do to this day. Unfortunately, my time as an athlete
will eventually come to an end and I will need to find an occupation that I have

Being able to work with sports, but not directly in the spotlight, as an athlete is
something I would love to be apart of. I have past experience working with sports,

21. Industrialization Impact Essay
Industrialization brought machines to the forefront of efficiency and profit for many
new entrepreneurs, and many technological advancement such as the telegraph and
the transcontinental railroad radically improved communication and transportation.
With such advancements to society, social and economical changes occurred where
more people moved from an agrarian society to an urban society, and during this
transition, the conditions of life grew worse as the wealth gap increased from
working in factories. Although the wealth of some Americans contributed to the
growth of the American economy, industrialization took a toll on much of the society
because working conditions were horrific, living conditions in cities were far from
sanitary, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Houses were split into tenements that each housed multiple families in an apartment
with no windows or air ventilation which can cause respiratory diseases, and
sanitation stations were such as toilets and bathtubs were significantly unproportional
to the population. The owners of these tenements were more focused on earning the
most profit rather than providing a safe and clean sojourn for working families, and
the ramifications were that disease spread rapidly due to the close proximity to others
and unsanitary conditions. Measles could spread easily due to the density of people
that occupy the same room in the same air, and when an infected person coughs,
everyone in the room can catch the disease if the room is without ventilation. Without
the sewage system, excrement was left in the streets where it produced a rancid odor
and contaminated water. Therefore, an epidemic of cholera accounted for many
deaths in the slums. No governmental regulations existed at the time because
inspections costed money and time, so at the time, the government practiced laissez

Introduction:
From the beginning of times it has always been the women s responsibility to rear
the children and keep the house tidy, traditional wifely duties. Why? Because kids
come from inside of women? Pew Research Center, reports that men spend 4.8
hours a week (in 2011) more with their children than they did in 1965 and six more
hours a week (in 2011) on household duties and chores. Women actually spend less
time than they did in 1965, a reported fourteen hours less a week in 2011 (USA
Today, 2013) .Men and women are learning to work together. Work/life balance is
becoming a shared priority which in 1965 was not as women spent most the time in
the home. I do find it very interesting that men and women with children both spend
about 10 hours less doing leisure activities with kids (USA Today, 2013); I find it
interesting only because the number is so much higher than originally thought which
suggests that teamwork between husband and wife is beneficial to everyone making
better relationships. The percentage of stay at home dads has increased by 3% in
1989 to 7% in 2012 (Pew Research Center, USA Today).

Title of work you are analyzing: The Iroquois Creation Story
Author of the work: David Cusick
1. What is the purpose or function of the work? Why was it written? Explain. Be
specific. Include thegenre as well as the reasons it was written.
Even though Cusick considers his work history, it is a myth. The myth discusses the
foundation and establishment of the Iroquois world and well as the constant struggle
between good and evil. In the work Cusick describes how the land was formed as
well as how the sun, moon, and the starts were formed by the good mind twin. The
good mind continued the works of creation, and formed numerous creeks and rivers
on the Great Island, and then created numerous species of animals of the smallest and

This may require a good bit of analysis for some works. It will be easier for others.
One behavior that is encouraged in this work is the no matter one you should
always try to over come evil. This is evident when the good mind submitted to the
bad minds offer to meet to resolve who would oversee universe once and for all.
Even thought the good mind is good he does what ever is necessary to defeat the bad
mind. He does this by getting the bad mind to confess what his instrument of death
was, in the case deer horns.
4. What does the work reveal or illustrate about the culture or society? What attitudes,
opinions, values, beliefs, and practices are reflected in the work? Include evidence
and examples from the work.
The work reveals even though the Iroquois people were not Christians by all
means they still realized that there is still good and evil in the world. They also
believe that all evil souls will sink into eternal doom (hell) and all good souls will
retire from earth and live in the heavens overlooking earth. at last the good mind
gained the victory by using the horns, as mentioned the instrument of death, which
he succeeded in deceiving his brother and he crushed him in the earth; and the last
words uttered from the bad mind were, that he would have equal power over the
souls of mankind after death and he sinks down to eternal doom and became the Evil
Spirit. (Cusick, The Iroquois Creations Story. Pg 21)

In the classic film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas , two eccentric characters,
journalist Raoul Duke and his psychotic attorney Dr. Gonzo travel to Las Vegas on
a job and in search of the American dream. Throughout the trip they find themselves
in odd situations that one would not normally encounter. Duke and Gonzo s
predicaments could be explained be a wide variety of psychological issues. One
psychological concept that is a very large part of Duke and Gonzo s trip is their
excessive drug use. The movie begins with Duke narrating and driving a fire apple
red convertible that they rented, in the desert around Bartslow, California. It was
then, he stated, the drugs began to take hold. In the first five minutes of the movie
Duke opens the trunk of the car, while swatting at bats that weren t there and does
an inventory of the drugs packed in a suit case. The suitcase included 2 bags of
grass, 75 pellets of Mescaline, 5 sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker
half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multicolored uppers, downers, reamers and
laughers, one quarter tequila, one quarter rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether,
and 2 dozen amyls (Fear and Loathing). The serious drug collection they had was to
push them as far as they could go. Duke and Gonzo had such a high tolerance to
multiple drugs that they could take these large amounts without serious
consequences. Every drug they took fell into one of the four major drug classes.

In life we all go through experiences that cause our moods to change for better or
for worse. There are times that we experience degrees of great joy and happiness
just as other times we experience great sadness and despair. These polar emotional
opposites can be brought about by a cornucopia of circumstances such as the joy
and excitement of getting married or the birth of a child to the deep sadness and
grief over the loss of a loved one or one s employment. Feelings of joy and feelings
of sadness are normal parts of human life. Some however are unfortunate enough to

27. How Did English Flint Points Affect Jamestown
3. English flint points are one of the artifacts that prove settlers at Jamestown made
contact with Native Americans. These arrowheads, made from chert and flint, were
very valuable in the Tidewater region. The Powhatans main hunting tool was a bow
and arrow. The Powhatans attacked the settlement many times, as proven by the
hundreds of broken stone points found all around Jamestown. When tensions arose
between the natives and the settlers, a focus was put on weaponry. Settlers began to
wear breastplates to protect themselves from the arrows of the natives. They also used
bills, an agricultural tool turned weapon, to fight off the natives during guerilla
attacks (bills were used to prune trees). The flint points, previously mentioned,...

medical treatments/procedures present in the community. It it clear that illnesses
and disease had a huge impact on the settlers of Jamestown because by January
1608, 60% of settlers were dead due to illnesses/disease. This was due to the lack
of knowledge regarding germs and bacteria. Diseases such as dysentery, typhoid,
and salt poisoning were the biggest killers during the first few years of the
Jamestown settlement. Molars found at the Jamestown excavation site also reveal
advanced periodontal disease plagued many of the settlers. In addition to this, there
were also very few men with knowledge of medicine, eight in total by the end of the
first year of settlement (two physicians, four surgeons, and two apothecaries). Many
treatments and procedures revolved around medical instruments available as well as
pain killers (laudanum was a very popular pain killer at the time that is now known to

28. Why Did The Aral Sea Shrink
The Aral Sea s main reason for it to shrink is the human activity that has been taken
place there for more than 52 years. On Discovery ED page 6 it states, The Aral Sea

of its original size and is shrinking daily. The humans used the Aral Sea for
irrigational purposes without considering the consequences. It is decided that the
Aral Sea has shrunk because of the human occupation. The Soviets were the main
reason for this dreadful event with many reasons. According to Discover Ed page 5
it says, When these countries were part of the Soviet Union, water resources were
shared across borders. Some countries were under Soviet control and the Soviets
29. Joy Luck Club Meaning
The song Keep Me in Your Heart , as sung by Warren Zevon, would add so much to
the scene in The Joy Luck Club (Amy Tan 1), as it matches perfectly with the
depressing, morbid mood the scene is trying to portray, and also because it sheds
some light into the motive of Suyuan s actions through its poetic and thoughtful
lyrics. This song was picked first because I believe it would perfectly introduce the
reader/audience to the book and allow them to connect with more than just the
text. Firstly, the song portrays emotions of longing and broken heartedness
through its sad and slow tempo and its depressingly perfect lyrics. The lyrics Keep
me in your heart for a while//If I leave you it doesn t mean I love you any less

Although the song speaks of the singer s significant other, the poetic lyrics are still
universal. Along the path, Suyuan made sacrifices, but the most significant of

The lyrics Sometimes when you re doin simple things around the house//Maybe

emotions Suyuan is going through, as she feels horrible for leaving behind her
babies, but she sure hopes and has the longing that Maybe [they ll] think of me and

countries must meet their targets primarily through national measures. However, the

The Kyoto Protocol allowed China, India and other rapidly modernizing

Protocol recognized that developed countries are principally responsible for the
current high levels of GHG emissions in the atmosphere as a result of more than
150 years of industrial activity. The Protocol placed a heavier burden on
developed nations under the principle of common but differentiated

35. Swot Analysis Of Subway
Abstract One of my first jobs a young adult was as a store manager for a local
Subway restaurant. Subway is a franchise that has restaurants all over the United
States and in several other countries. They operate the organization under a stable
culture. I will use my personal experience and the five signs of organizational
culture which include mission statement, stories and language, physical layout,
rules and policies, and rituals to explain for the organization conveys its
organizational culture. Mission Statement Subway s mission statement is Delight
every customer, so they want to tell their friends with great value through fresh,
delicious, made to order sandwiches, and an exceptional experience (Farfan, 2017).
When reviewing the mission statement we can see that the customer service and
value is of great importance to the organization. The mission statement reflects that
the business is focused on attention to details and creating an experience that will
keep customers coming back and referring others to their stores. The mission
statement conveys to both the employees and the customers that they will have a
stable culture. It does so by so by placing emphasis on quality control and
constance. A stable culture is reflected here because Subway will use certain
formulas, rules, and strict policies to make sure the customer gets the same
excellent service and product at all of its stores. Rituals While working for Subway
I had the opportunity to visit several locations. There are not a lot of rituals within
the organization. Rituals refer to repetitive activities within an organization that
have symbolic meaning (Carpenter, Bauer, Erdogan, 2012, P. 399). One ritual that
is popular in most subway restaurants is a sandwich building speed test. After an
employee had been employed for 90 days a manager would pick a sandwich off the
menu and have the sandwich artist make it as fast as possible. The employee would
be scored based on the time it took for them to assemble the sandwich, how closely
they followed the build formula for that sandwich, proper length of the sandwich, and
neatness of the product upon completion. This ritual reflects that stable culture in a
way that this
36. Victoria Memorial Controversy
There are various issues in regard with the Victoria Memorial and it s representation
of monarchy. Firstly, the issue of space and power and secondly the contemporary
debate of Republicanism. The Queen Victoria memorial remains the tallest monument
to a King or Queen in England at nearly 25 metres tall (Royal.gov.uk, 2001). This
raises questions in regard to the political connotations of a statue of a monarch in a
public space. Public space can be linked to social power. Lefebvre discusses a triad
spatial model, including the perceived, conceived space and lived space (1991:33).
The Victoria memorial can be described as a conceived space , characterised by the
representations which dominant groups in society produce to define space. , (rudi.net,

In regard to contemporary debates about monarchy it can be questioned whether or
not such a large amount of public space should be dedicated to the monarchy. There
are several arguments against the monarchy, with hereditary monarchy being seen as
unfair and elitist. It can be argued that in a modern and democratic society nobody
should be expected to defer to another placed on ranking in society given through
birth and that these attitudes can be linked to an imperialist age as opposed to a so
called modern and meritocratic society. It can be argued that monarchy contradicts
the idea of democracy in a so called democratic and modern nation. These heads of
states are not elected, yet have the power to override the parliametary system
(Republic, 2015), and demand deference to keep subjects in their place (Bertram,
2004:160). These values don t live up to meritocracy. It can be argued that admist the
debate of Republicanism in contemporary society it may not be appropriate to have
such a representation of the monarchy s political

Citizens National Bank of Texas wanted to continue increasing its market share to at
least 50 percent in eight counties in the state. It planned to use customer relationship
management software to help improve its call center and sales force. It targeted its
relationship bankers that drive most of its business and increase loan sales and
deposits.
The main goal for the implementation was to increase sales by raising the number of
contacts the relationship bankers were making and improve the tracking of these
activities so that the bank could learn more from them.
Tangible benefits: approve credit and loan applications more quickly; store
interactions between relationship bankers and customer electronically.
Intangible benefits: the old paper system allowed salespeople who left the
organization to take their customer records with them. The new system would
prevent that. The paper system also created too much information for the CEO and
managers to process effectively.

There are many differences and similarities in these cultures. Some of the different
thing in Southeast Asia is their religion. The different names of their religion is
Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and one of them we have in America is Christianity

40. Manners and Etiquette of Pride and Prejudice

Do s and Don ts of Pride and Prejudice
In 19th century England, manners played a big role. In her book Pride and Prejudice,
Jane Austen portrays many different aspects of English social manners in the 1800s,
and these facets of English etiquette, including traveling etiquette, social propriety,
and dancing, greatly affect the plot of the book.
One aspect of English social etiquette was the set of strict rules for how one was to
act to appear as a socially adept person and therefore a desirable match for marriage.
They were for the most part unspoken rules, but during the 19th century there began
to be a growing selection of etiquette books available, for instance, Dr. ... Show more

establish their reputations; Darcy gets a bad reputation as a proud and disagreeable
man, and Mr. Bingley gets a reputation as an amiable man who is fun to be around.
Mr. Bingley through dancing also got an opportunity to show Jane that he cared
about her; in the 1800s, if a gentleman asked to dance with a lady twice it usually
meant that said gentleman was interested in the lady. At the first ball, Mr. Bingley
danced with [Jane] twice... (Austen 279) and thereby showed his affection for her, an
affection that grows stronger throughout Pride and Prejudice.
Dancing also affects the plot of Pride and Prejudice. During the ball at Netherfield,
Darcy dances with Elizabeth, and two important things happen during this dance.
First, Darcy s affection for Elizabeth begins to flourish. As he is dancing with her,
they have a little argument. After the dance, Darcy begins to be angry at Elizabeth,
but ...in Darcy s breast there was a tolerable powerful feeling towards [Elizabeth],
which soon procured her pardon, and directed all his anger against another. Also,
during this dance Elizabeth s view of what happened between Mr. Darcy and Mr.
Wickham, that Mr. Darcy has shamelessly exploited Mr. Wickham, is established in
her own mind. Without dancing, the plot of Pride and
41. An Example Of Heroism
Heroism
What makes someone a hero? Is it the way they look, the way they walk, or what
they wear? A hero isn t any of those. A hero is a simple person who when faced
with difficult choices, makes a difference with their decision. He/She leads by
example, has moral courage, and makes good decisions which they act on
immediately. All heroes lead by example. Abraham Lincolnwas a hero to many
people because he freed the African Americans from slavery. Although the majority
of the southern states did not want the slaves to be freed, Lincoln stayed strong in
his fight to give every man their freedom. Another example of a man who led by
example was Booker T. Washington. He wrote an autobiography, Up From
Slavery. After slavery was abolished, he opened up a school for blacks in order to
educate them. He taught them to how to work for their own food and to read and
write. He also taught them how to keep good hygiene, the importance of dressing
your best, having good manners, and most of all, speaking clearly and politely to
everyone. Washington did not earned any money from the school. Instead, he
solicited to affluent whites around the country. He faced many rejections, but
remained persistent. Without funding, his school could not operate. Over time, his
school grew and his students were able to contribute more. He soon became a hero in
the eyes of his students as well as many people all over the world. A hero that leads
by example is Elon Musk. He is providing solar power
42. Recycle Bin
пѓ A short note on Recycle bin.
Recycle bin is an icon on the Windows desktop that represents a directory where
deleted files are temporarily stored. This enables you to retrieve files that you may
have accidentally deleted. From time to time, you ll want to purge the recycle bin
to free up space on your hard disk. You can also configure Windows so that it doesn
t use the recycle bin at all, but then you won t be able to retrieve accidentally deleted
files.
Items in the Recycle Bin remain there until you decide to permanently delete them
from your computer. These items still take up hard disk space and can be undeleted

The Recycle Bin can be accessed via the desktop (In fact it is the only icon shown
by default on the Windows XP desktop) or Windows Explorer. The Recycle Bin,
when accessed from the desktop, has different options and information than what
Windows Explorer normally would have as seen from the physical location. In an
NTFS environment, users cannot see deleted files in the Recycle Bin of other user.
Files in the Recycle Bin are stored in its physical location and renamed as D.. A
hidden file called info2 (info in Windows 95) stores the files original paths and
names. When the user views the Recycle Bin, the files are displayed with their
original names. When the file is Restored from the Recycle Bin, it is returned to its
original directory and name.
When the file is deleted by emptying the Recycle Bin, the space on the disk used by
the file is designated as free without any changes being made to the file data itself.
Future files will overwrite the data when they are saved on the disk. In other words,
the data is not erased, but the address marking the data s existence is.

In Windows Explorer, files are moved to the Recycle Bin in a number of ways:
By right clicking on a file and selecting delete from the menu

43. Ecology Lab Report 2 Scientific Method on Birds
Ecology Lab 2 scientific method of birds
In today s lab we learned about the scientific method and a hypothesis. We talked
about how ecologists have an issue when experimenting because they cannot control
some environmental factors. Therefore the probability of repeatability in an
ecological experiment in often minimal. We then went into talking about the
importance of an experimenter s hypothesis. We summed up a hypothesis as just
being an assumption that could be put to the test. After we talked about some
examples of a hypothesis we went into talking about the different types of research.
For my two experiments in today s lab I used natural experiments. A natural
experiment is one of the most relevant types of experiments an ... Show more content

For my own ecological experiment and hypothesis I came up with the idea that
blue birds hang around my garden because they like to eat the beetles that are
around my tomato plant. There numbers would be reliant upon how high there
source was, for example the more beetles there were, the more blue birds would be
there. A natural experiment would be more favorable than a lab experiment because
this is happening in nature. I would have to collect the size of the garden, the
number of tomato plants, the number of beetles collected at a certain time, and a
field camera to count the number of times a bluebird swoops in. I think stratified
random sampling technique would be the best because the number of tomato plants
could impact the number of birds and beetles. Season would also be an important
factor for this experiment. I would expect there to be more birds, beetles, and tomato
plants depending upon the size of the garden.
I think my first experiment with bees could be improved several ways. We could
collect the certain type of flowers that the bees were at. Collecting the certain type
of bee could also prove useful. We could go into great detail of what type of bees
were attracted to what type of flower. Adding in what type of weather and what
type of day got the most bees present around the flowers. I could even add in what
types of bees were around what type of trees.
I could improve

From Louis XIV, who chose to ignore the deficit on his balance book hundreds of
years ago after his reliable accountant Jean Baptiste Colbert died, to the Lehman
Brothers, who collapsed in September 2008 for trading worthless mortgages and

constrained these unethical practices, a flourishing society and stable political status
can be established, but rarely merchants and governments can completely and

a successful merchant and a favorable government. At the same time, reliable
financial accountability can be conserved by full cultural engagement instead of an

Even in 15th century Italy, where were famous for its prosperous business and active
merchants, according to Pacioli, rarely people could achieve that goal. The
mysterious verve of accounting not only attracted public and rulers attention, but also
induced them to combine the success with good bookkeeping method. In some
degree, it is the truth, but in today s view, merely being a good accountant is not
enough to be a successful businessman. After more and more successful accounting
related stories came out, public firmed their high value of accounting, which
connected it to every things in their lives as well as God. This actually created a
pressure for accountants to do the best in financial accountability, or at least, they
purposely presented a beautiful surface, because public concerned and admired this
industry. This sounds like an idol in today s society, who needed to be careful about
their behaviors. This culture, as well as other cultures, could not survive without
authority permission, so it is easy to infer that rulers also tried to use accounting to
govern society better and managed their own properties. In history, however, from
Emperor Augustus to the first American superintendent of finance, rarely people
consistently follow accounting ethics, but one thing was certain, accounting always
helped these

Use of Symbols, Tensions, and Irony in The Glass Menagerie
The Glass Menagerie, by Tennessee Williams, is a perfect example of how Williams
incorporates symbols, tensions, and irony to help express the central theme of the
play.
One of the most dominant symbols in the play is the fire escape. It represents
something different for each of the characters. Tom uses the fire escape to escape
from his cramped apartment and nagging mother. Therefore, the fire escape
symbolizes a path to the outside world. For Jim, the gentleman caller, the fire escape
represents a means of entering the Wingfield apartment and by doing so, entering the
Wingfields lives. The mother, Amanda, sees the fire escape as a possible... Show

Tom talks of his rainbow colored scarf that was used at a magic show to change a
bowl of goldfish into flying canaries. Like the canaries, Tom hopes to escape from
his prison and fly away. The rainbow reflections at the Dance Hall, created by the
chandeliers, foreshadow the dance between Jim and Laura. This dance gave Laura
a sense of hope for herself. Later though, Tom looks at the pieces of colored glass,
like bits of a shattered rainbow , which represents Laura s broken hopes and dreams.
Tom uses irony as a means of keeping pain and himself apart. Amanda accuses Tom of
going out drinking every night, and to this Tom makes up a humorous story about
how killer, killer, Wingfield spends his nights in opium dens, dens of vice and
criminals hangouts... By Tom agreeing with his mother and turning what was an
argument into a form of art, based completely on exaggerations, he ends up ironically
protecting himself. By turning the situation into a joke, Tom distances himself from
the situation and the pain.
Tom also makes a joke out of his father s abandonment. He recalls his father as a
telephone man who fell in love with long distances . He also speaks of the last time
he heard from his father with another ironic twist, a postcard saying nothing but,
Hello Goodbye . Ironically, the last words spoken by Tom in the play are the same as
his father s and so
46. Physician Equipper Research Paper
A physician equips a body by putting a bone back into its correct relationship with
the other members of the body. In a workplace, an equipper can be a physician by
first being a representation of Jesus. The equipper has to be able to demonstrate to
his coworker that he is a strong believer. Once his coworkers are aware that he is a
believer, other believers will be able to identify to him. This gives me a perfect
chance to have conversations with believers about their walk. The task of an
equipping minister is to see members of Christ s body who are in broken
relationship or are wrongfully connected to the body become correctly related .
The equipper will encourage his co workers and advise them in the areas where
they are lacking faith. Also by the equipper making friendships with non believers
and converting them to Christ, he is being a physician. We all play a part in the
body of Christ, a person being saved and playing their part helps the whole body.
The disciples were afraid of their former persecutor and would not let this strongly
gifted new Christian join them (Stevens, R. Paul) Often in our neighborhoods, we
see non believers as lost people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

physician to his own home. Once his home is healed, then they can act as a team of

by hosting meetings, BBQ s, bible studies and etc. It is also important that they
recognize the areas of opportunities in the community and have a plan on how to
bring the dislocated bones back into place. I believe that being part of a local church
and being surrounded by a community of believers will be a huge support to the
family as they are

In the 1930s and 1940s many Hollywood writers, actors, producers, and directors
were suspected for communist affiliations. During this time, communism was a
popular political movement in the United States, especially among young liberals.
There was a growing fear of communism invading American society. By the end of
World War Two an event known as the Red Scare resulted in communism become
increasingly feared and hated by many in the United States. The Hollywood blacklist
caused the Hollywood industry a lot of harm in its business and reputation.

of the questions they refused to answer were: are you a member of the Screen
Writers Guild? and, are you now or have you ever been a member of the
Communist Party? Their unsuccessful defense was bases on First Amendment
claims. Even though being a member of the American Communist Party was
disliked and in some cases feared, it was never illegal. These men were convicted in
1948 for six months in two cases or one year prison terms in 1950. Edward Dmytryk
was summoned to appear before a House Committee hearing investigating Un
American Activities. He refused to cooperate with Committee and was sent to jail.
After spending numerous months behind bars, Dmytryk made the choice to testify
again, and give the names of other members in the American Communist Party, as the
HUAC had requested. On April 25, 1951, Dmytryk appeared before another HUAC
hearing and answered all their questions. He told them about his extremely short past
membership in the Communist party. He also named twenty six former members of
left wing groups. He gave

50. Theme Of Duty In Thousand And One Nights
In many texts, duty based in morality or religion is a common theme. It helps to
characterize the main characters as well as emphasize the conflict in the text. In
Middle Eastern texts, there was often a duty to other people. In French Renaissance
texts, the character s duty could be driven by moral or religious reasons. In French
and Middle Eastern texts, however, moral and religious dutyhelped to develop
characters and drive the plot. In the Middle Eastern text Thousand and One Nights,
moral duty is a major part of the plot. Shahrazad, the daughter of King Sharayar s
vizier, hopes to marry the king to save her fellow women from being killed. The
text says, One day she said to her father, Father, I will tell you what is in my mind.
He asked, What is it? She answered, I would like you to marry me to King
Shahrayar, so that I may either succeed in saving the people or perish and die like
the rest (pg. 1059). Shahrayar feels the need to marry the king in order to save the
people and is unafraid of the threat of death. Because she is educated, she feels that
she can change the king s mind using her stories, which feature good women, and her
moral duty leads her to remain married to the king and eventually... Show more

He feels that it is his moral duty to keep his fine sword out of the hands of his

Charles rules now, our King, whose beard is white! / Now you fall to another; it

his king as well as his attempts to keep his sword out of the hands of the pagans

Professional development is concerned with providing employees opportunities to
achieve their career related goals. Some organizations provide resources for their
employees to earn a university degree, or send their employees to conferences or

globalization because it creates a win win situation. The employees feel as though
the organization is concerned with providing a range of skills and competencies for

53. John Milton s Paradise Lost
A few years prior to writing Paradise Lost, John Milton lost his vision. In fact,
Milton does not hide the reality that his eyes, that roll in vain...find no dawn
(Paradise Lost, 3.22 23). The light that Milton refers to, however, is not just
physical, but it is also spiritual. There is a third type of blindness that Milton
addresses, blindness from knowledge. Milton is concerned with this form of
blindness in a number of works, perhaps most notably Areopagitica. The acquisition
of knowledge plays a vital role in Paradise Lost: the fall of Adam and Even relies on
their attainment of knowledge; the decision to eat the fruit is blasphemous because
Adam and Eveknow that it is forbidden to them; Adam embarks on an educational
mission as he asks Raphael questions in an attempt to gain more knowledge about
the world around him. However, not all knowledge can be attained by Adam and
Eve, which complicates the justice of the fall. As John Milton explores the nature of
knowledge in Paradise Lost, the validity and visibility of this knowledge lead Adam
and Eve to an unjust fall. With the exception of God, knowledge is limited for all the
characters in the text. When Adam asks Raphael a number of questions concerning
his creation and his duties towards God, Raphael readily answers. However, when
Adam inquiries about the cosmological universe, Raphael provides an answer but
quickly reminds Adam that this knowledge from Man or Angel the great Architect
/Did wisely to conceal, and not
