My Hockey Lesson Lessons
When life gets hard, get hard back. This is the lesson I have learned through this last hockey
season. My coach, my teammates, my parents, all taught me this one lesson and from this, I
became a better, athlete, student, and probably the most important a better person. Through this
essay, I will share this lesson and how it applies to my story and hopefully, it can apply to your
story as well. In 8th grade I moved here to Camas from a small town in Alaska where hockey was a
lifestyle. We moved after tryouts however so I couldn t playthat season. Over the summer I
decided to go out for the team pretty confident that I would be the best player on the team
because who ever heard of big hockey in Vancouver? That was the most I ve been wrong in a
long time. The first day of tryouts I could barely skate backwards due to not playing an entire

Switching is a technology that has been used since the first communication networks were
invented. In order to understand switching, we must first discuss switches. A switch is a device
that connects other devices on a network. Switches can also prevent bad packets from spreading
by not forwarding them on. While switches can be helpful to a network they should not be seen as
an instant fix for network issues. There are many benefits to using network switching in a network.
A switch can break one large network into smaller networks so that the distance limitations are
restarted. By creating the smaller networks traffic is isolated, reducing collisions. It can ... Show
In a full switched network, hubs are not used. Instead, switches are used with a dedicated segment
for every node. In this type of network the switch picks up every transmission before it reaches
another node. Since any segment only reaches a single node, the frame only reaches the intended
recipient. This allows many conversations to happen at the same time. Switching also allows a
network to maintain full duplex Ethernet, which allows information to travel from node to switch
and switch to node at the same time. Most networks do not exclusively use switches because of
the costs involved with replacing all hubs. A combination of switches and hubs are typically used
to create an efficient and less costly network (Tyson 2001).
When switching on layer 2, there are three important functions that a network administrator should
remember. The first, address learning, is when layer 2 switches retain the source hardware
address and port interface it was received on. It is then entered into a MAC database called a
forward/filter table. The second, forward/filter decisions, is when a switch looks at the destination
hardware address and finds the interface it is on in the filter table. It then chooses the correct exit

My grandparents were both born and raised in Cidra, Puerto Rico and so were their three
children. They wanted to start a new beginning. Though the exact date is forgotten my
grandparents moved to Cleveland, Ohio sometime in 1989. My grandparents were very poor
when they lived in Puerto Rico since there were not many job opportunities and barely any
resources, my grandparents could barely make ends meet.They wanted to give their children to
have more opportunities and resources that they didn t have when they were younger, so they
decided to leave their home in Cidra. They choose to move to Cleveland because they already had
some familydown here such as brothers, sisters, and even cousins.When my grandparents got to
Cleveland they already knew they made the right decision for their family, Cleveland gave them
a more stable life then what they had in Puerto Rico. There were better educated schools in
Cleveland for their children unlike in Puerto Rico, the food in Cleveland was way more affordable,
medicine as well, and it was easier to find jobs that paid well.
The first migration wave for Puerto Ricans came in 1917 when almost 2,000 people went to New
York. Another wave of Puerto Ricans traveled to New York in the 1940s. Similar to my family, the
Puerto Ricans went to New York to have fresh starts and to find new opportunities to better
themselves. They were also looking for jobs since there was a very high unemployment rate in
Puerto Rico that still somewhat exists today.

March in1985, Jones asked people to write the names of their family members who were killed

Each panel is designed by the survivors for their loved one that died of AIDS related causes. The
panel is 3 feet by 6 feet, which is also the size of a human grave. This connects the ideas of AIDS
and death more closely. Eight individual panels are assembled into 12 feet by 12 feet blocks.
These blocks are shown at local displays of The Quilt. Techniques that were used to make the
panels are patchwork, applique, embroidery, fabric painting, collage, spray paint, needlepoint and

however, most of the time there is a greater purpose of violence. When looking for it in plays one
would automatically look for weapons or signs of physically harming someone like. However,
verbiage can be an act of violenceas well. The phrase, sticks and stones may break my bones, but
words will never hurt me is false. Your tongue has no bones, but is strong enough to hurt another
person. Like in the playThe Stronger by August Strindbergwhere Miss Y is verbally insulted
countless of times. Whereas in the play Variations on the Death of Trotsky by David Ives one can
see the physical violence by the tragic murder that occurred. After distinguishing where the violence
is coming from one can then analyze the true role of the violence and compare how the violence
affect the dramas.
When looking at The Stronger you can see just how Miss Y in verbally insulted over and over
again by Mrs. X. While Miss Y is just sitting at a table by herself minding her own business when
Mrs. X shows up. During the entire play Miss Y does not say one word while Mrs. X insults her
and says rude things like, Poor Amelia, I pity you, nevertheless, because I knew you are
unhappy, unhappy like one who has been wounded, and angry because you are wounded. () She
just assumes that she is unhappy because she is in a cafГ© by herself on a holiday. She does not
even ask her if she is unhappy or give her time
