World Wrestling History
So the history of world wrestling goes back a long time. It was the first sport to ever be created. The
first real traces of the development of wrestling date back to the times of the Sumerians, over 5,000
years ago. There are also many historical and archaeological traces of wrestling in Ancient Egypt.
Drawings were discovered in Ancient Egypt in the tombs of Beni Hassan representing 400 couples of
wrestlers. These drawings witness the existence of corporations of wrestlers in Ancient Egypt,
wrestling rules, and refereeing codes (United World Wrestling). For the Greeks, wrestling was a
science and a divine art , and it represented the most important training for young men. Athletes
wrestled naked, with their bodies coated in olive oil and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end of the 19th century, professional wrestling was the most popular sport in Europe.
Competitions helped to make wrestling more popular, the physical aspect of wrestlers served as a
model to young men and the training system allowed ameteur wrestling clubs to rapidly become more
structured. In 1904 freestyle wrestling was introduced during the St.Louis Games and was only
practiced by American Wrestlers. It was only during the fourth olympic Games held in London in
1908 that competitions were organized for both styles. Wrestling matches took place on three mats
that were placed outside. A regular match lasted 1 hour, but finalists wrestled without a time limit.
After this Olympic Games, Wrestling started to develope in every country Worldwide. Northern
Europe countries maintained Greco Roman wrestling, where freestyle wrestling was largely
dominated by the English and the Americans. In Amsterdam, in 1928, the first African wrestler won
the Olympic title. In 1952 the first Asian wrestler won the Olympic title in Helsinki. Female Wrestling
was finally introduced to the Olympics in 2004 during the Athens Games. So overall there is a lot to
know about the history of World Wrestling, there is also a lot to know about the history of Pro

Now that you know which is more dense, what must be true of the particles that make it more dense?
Prior to completing this lab I believed the nail would be more dense than the stopper. After performing
the experiment, the iron nail contains more particles by volume than the rubber stopper does.
Part IV
10. The accepted value for the density of aluminum is 2.699 g/cm3. Using this density and the masses
of your two samples of aluminum foil, calculate the volume of aluminum in each sample: the regular
vs. the heavy duty. (Note: You will have to use a bit of algebra and the formula D = m/v for this
calculation!) You must show all your work. (15 pts)
Regular Aluminum Foil:
2.699 g/cm3=0.67g/volume
2.699 g/cm3 x 0.67g= volume
Volume= 1.81 cm3
Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil:
2.699 g/cm3=0.97g/volume
2.699g/cm3 x 0.97g=volume
Volume= 2.62 cm3
11. Using the volume(s) you just calculated for regular vs. heavy duty samples as well as your
dimensional measurements (length and width in cm) from Part IV of this experiment, calculate the
height, or thickness, of each sample of aluminum using the formula V = l x w x h. In the formula, V
stands for volume, l for length, w for width, and h for height. Once again, you will have to use your
algebraic skills to manipulate the formula, to solve for height. You must show all your work. (15 pts)

The Role Of Settler Colonization And Its Negative...
In April 1995 Pamela George, an Ojibway women, was brutally murdered in Saskatchewan. Her
murderers Steven Kummerfield and Alex Ternowetsky, young middle class white men, were convicted
of manslaughter and sentenced to merely six and a half years in prison. George s story is one of the
many Indigenous women who have been murdered or missing over the past years. There are over 580
cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women, close to half are put aside and left unsolved. Only
53% of these cases have lead to charges of homicide (Klement 8). Drastically, statistics indicate that
Aboriginals are faced with more hardships throughout their life compared to the average Canadian.
Indigenous groups, particularly women, suffer from a lower rate of education, higher suicide rates and
an array of health risks. This paper will examine the role settler colonization history has played in
perpetuating conditions for violence to indigenous women, many of which are still experienced today.
This will be accomplished by first assessing the history of settler colonization and its negative
repercussions. Secondly, it will use Sherene Razak s concept of spatial segregation, to illustrate how
state institutions have facilitated violence through space, race and the law. Lastly, this paper will use
evidence from the film Finding Dawn to further demonstrate how violence towards indigenous women
is institutionally produced.
In the 16th century, French colonists arrived to Newfoundland

Taj Sultana is one of the most important person and has done a lot in the Pakistan Movement 1947.
She is one of the female heroic figures of Pakistan who had an important role in the Pakistan
movement in 1947. She worked with Mouhtarma Ms Fatima Jinnah (Quaid e Azam s sister who was
founder of Pakistan) for an independent Muslim state. Taj Sultana was a companion of top women
activists of 1947 Pakistan Independence Movement.
Taj Sultana and Begum Salma Tassaduq Hussain both met each other when they were travelling from

Psychological Factors of Addiction Essay
The basis for addiction can be assigned to a combination of social, physiological and psychological
aspects. Social factors highlight the fundamental tendency for humans to interact and form social
groups which contributes to the commencement of addiction. The intricacy of the human brain has
slowed the understanding of physiological and psychological factors, however experts agree the
neurotransmitter dopamine is instrumental to explaining the cause of addiction and ascertaining
successful pathways to assist addicted individuals. Analysing addiction within the domain of
methamphetamine use provides an insight to the causes and potential treatment strategies for these
individuals. There is no single treatment for methamphetamine addiction, ... Show more content on

Ultimately, these factors contribute to the development of methamphetamine abuse but also provide
tangible strategies to counteract addiction. Boshears et al. (2011) suggest methamphetamine users
separate from existing social networks that encourage consumption and discover new networks that
support cessation of drug use. However, many methamphetamine addicts would be forced to
disassociate from immediate family or be required to terminate employment which create limitations
due to the impracticality of these changes. Evidently, social determinants contribute to
methamphetamine addiction, however successful treatment can only occur in conjunction with the
attenuation of significant physiological and psychological factors.
The complexity of the human brain creates mystery when determining the influence of
neurophysiological factors and their role in the process of addiction. There is a proposed relationship
between drug addiction and the mesolimbic dopamine system, with the mesolimbic pathway from the
ventral tegmental area to the nucleus accumbens considered the reward centre of the human brain
(Alcohol Rehab, 2011). A release of dopamine is necessary for reward which is hypothesised to
initiate the addiction cycle by providing positive reinforcement for drug self administration
(Feltenstein See, 2009). Methamphetamine triggers the release of dopamine from synaptic vesicles
which flood the synaptic cleft activating feelings of euphoria, well being

Secondary Prevention Programs Essay
The Secondary Prevention Programs provide treatment such as psychological counseling to youths
and adults that have violated the law. Unfortunately, there is an extreme disconnect in providing
adequate services to people that have committed crimes after they have met all rehabilitative
requirements under the law. The prison system was initially designed to rehabilitate people that have
operated outside of the confines of law so that once their debt is paid they are to assimilate back into
society. If a person completes their prison sentence and returns to normal society with no options of
creating a productive life is it safe to say that we create criminals and punish them for their crimes.
Crisis counseling should be provided and required for all citizens that have completed their prison
sentence so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To further help those that have committed crimes receive a fair second chance trade training and job
placement opportunities should be provided to those that are released from prison. Incentives, should

have risked their lives for this country and do not receive additional counseling and care to treat the
effects of war. PTSD has been proven to truly affect the way that people the suffer from it operate
daily. Veterans suffering from this horrific disorder should be given proper treatment to ensure that
their mental deficiencies are properly handled and treated. To make sure that we prevent former
criminals from becoming repeat criminal offenders we must aid, educate, train, and treat all of the
causing factors that drive people to commit crimes and recommit them. For a person to reenter society
after being in prison and have no money in their pockets, access to no forms of aid, no education, and

The Is A Victim Of Discrimination And Oppression
Mereana is identified as a victim of discrimination and oppression as a result of her family being
deeply religious and she is a committed Christian. As being from a Christian family her culture is
strictly against homosexuality. Mereana is concerned because her family do not have the wish to talk
about her woman partner even though she loves her more than anything else in the world. Reasoning
this is she has not formally come out to the family. From my perspective the idea of being
marginalised has already been set by the family. Mereana is basically trying to articulate she only
wants acceptance, and she wants her family to appreciate her and her woman partner with open loving
arms, and especially to approve of who they are as a person regardless of their sexual orientation. It
seen like Mereana wants homosexuality to be seen as just another alternative lifestyle. But her culture,
the Bible does not support homosexuality, nor does it support homosexual marriage. Homosexual
marriage is perceived as condemned. Marriage is conceived as a legal union only between a man and a
woman. This legislation portrays as a declaration about how the heterosexual family is appraised and
how all other family forms are not. Mereana s uncle was estranged from the whanau because of this
sexual orientation. This caused the whanau to dissociation with the uncle. It said to be, he had sinned
and having any association with the uncle will be against their family s values and beliefs. An article

James 5 My paper is going to be on this question Explain the purpose of the Tea Act of 1773. Which
Americans were most affected by this act and how did they respond to the Tea Act of 1773? One main
point from my first paragraph is the Tea act of 1773 was one of the very many taxes and laws put on
the American Colonies by the British. One point from my second paragraph would be the affect this
Act had on the Americans with business s. the people with business s were in fear that this Tea Act
would put them out of business s and they would not be able to provide for their family s and keep
their home up and running. My third paragraph is talking about what lead up to the Tea Act of 1773.
The main thing that lead up to this act would be the British being in so much dept. from war and
moving their soldiers from one place to another and supplying them with weapons and food and
clothing. My fourth paragraph is going to be talking about the way the Americans responded to the
Tea Act of 1773. A good many of the Americans formed a resistance against the Tea Act of 1773 and

Buchnera Aphidicol Southern Blot Analysis
Aphids possess bacteriocytes that are specific to its obligate mutualist, Buchnera aphidicola. It seems
that this genus has lost genes that are essential to its life. Through Southern Blot analysis, Nikoh and
Nakabachi have shown that these lost genes are actually encoded in the aphid genome. Through
detailed structural and phylogenetic analyses, the full length sequences of these transcripts were
determined. This demonstrated that these transcripts are indeed significantly similar to multiple
bacterial genes. While the Buchnera no longer possess these genes, other similar bacteria (E. Coli)
possess these genes. Nikoh and Nakabachi were able to conclude that they found several pieces of
evidence that show that aphids are indeed able to acquire genes from bacteria through lateral gene
transfer. They also claim that these genes are used to maintain their obligate mutualistic relationship
with the bacteria, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
show similar results in another study. The same species as the one mentioned before, Buchnera
aphidicola has a highly reduced genome, which increases the chances that gene transfer occurred from
the bacteria to the aphid. Using the pea aphid, Acyrthosiphon pisum, they were able to provide
stronger support of the transfer of 12 genes from the bacteria to the aphid genome. While they were
able to identify this transfer between the pea aphid and the bacteria, they found that none of these
genes were transferred between Buchnera and the aphid, just like in the previous study. Sandstrom et
al. looked at different ways this gene transfer could have occurred. Insects in general usually host
secondary bacterial symbionts along with primary endosymbionts. Both symbionts are maternally
transmitted. Their results showed that a community of bacteria invades aphid cells and are transmitted
both vertically and horizontally among other aphid lineages. They present other potential possibilities
of transfer through ingestion from plant surfaces and plant

Essay on Main Disagreements Over the Constitution
The three consequences of the constitution are: the right of individuals enjoy such strong legal
protections that at times they frustrate the will of the majority, the obstacles placed in the way of
passing legislation create a strong bias toward the status quo, and even though the constitution makes
it difficult to pass legislation, it has created a system that is sufficiently flexible to meet the country s
changing needs. The compromises necessary for the Constitution to be formed, because it is the only

Death of a Salesman vs. Tragedy and the Common Man
It makes little sense that tragedy should only pertain to those in high ranks. As explained in his essay
Tragedy and the Common Man, Arthur Miller establishes the pattern for his own notion of a tragedy
and the consequent ramifications for the tragic hero. This pattern supports the central idea that a
tragedy can occur for characters who are common men as well as those in high places. Throughout his
paper, Miller demonstrates that it should be possible for every reader to be able to identify with the
tragic hero. Miller redefines tragedy as more common occurrence than what might happen in tragedies
such as portrayed by Shakespeare and other classical writers, thus defining Death of a Salesman as a
tragedy.
Willy Loman is a tragic hero. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Willy, like traditional tragic heroes, possesses a tragic flaw. The possibility of victory must be there in
tragedy (Miller, Tragedy and the Common Man ). Setting aside Willy s tragic flaw, there is also a
certain amount of hope and optimism that Willy might change. If there is a possibility of bringing an
element of hope into this play, there is also a conceivable possibility of change. Change is the
compelling force without which there would be no hope. And with change comes a reasonable
possibility of victory. Throughout this entire play, Willy lives by the credo be well liked. Someday I ll
have my own business, and I ll never have to leave home any more... bigger that Uncle Charley!
Because Charley is not liked. He s liked, but he s not well liked (Miller, Death of a Salesman 30)
Willy finds this untrue as he increasingly makes less and less money on business trips. Howard, and
now I can t even pay my insurance! You can t eat the orange and throw away the peel! A man is not a
piece of fruit (Miller, Death of a Salesman 82) Willy, however, refuses to change his view of the world
and therefore is destined to continue his struggle upstream.
What makes this play tragic for me, though, is that Willy does not change. It is sadly his tragic flaw
that brings about this failure. His unwillingness to submit passively to the established order and values
is his demise. He has a set idea in his mind about how he wants to be and

The Holocaust And The Eugenics Movement
When you see a Nazi flag, what do you feel? Many people usually start to feel a little anxiety because
they associate very strong negative feelings with the flag. This is because Americans are widely
familiar with the atrocities committed by Nazi Germany. However, most Americans are quite less
educated about similar atrocities committed in the United States. Case in point: did you know that the
Native American population today is a mere 10 percent of what it was before the Age of Exploration
(meaning that there population has been decreased 90 percent due to genocide, diseases, etc.) ? Did
you know that there was a sterilization movement in the United States that found success in getting
their laws passed in state legislation? These less well known facts are quite similar to actions carried
out by the Nazis, such as the holocaust and the sterilization movement that took place in Germany
during the 1930 s. Nazi Eugenics and racism was not a unique instance but rather part of a larger
global trend of justifying racism through Religion and Biology, as seen in the United States.

My Experience In Boarding School
My name boomed over the intercom and the April sunshine did not warm me as I uneasily made my
way to the front office. I had been enrolled in boarding school for eight months when I was told there
was a new girl coming and was asked to help her through the first few frightening weeks. Being a big
sister involved teaching her about what living at boarding school was like, along with just being her
friend. This was an honor and immense responsibility, making me not only excited, but anxious as
well. Despite repeated nerves, I was eager to find out about her life and rise to the occasion. Walking
an apprehensive girl through the ropes of boarding school made me a stronger, more stable person
because it offered me a new perspective, valuable support, and the fulfillment of becoming a giving
friend. The next few weeks included a major lesson in a more expansive worldview.
In particular, people with different experiences can introduce me to a new perspective. The
responsibility I attained gave me a more developed worldview that I had previously been sheltered
from. In other words, my background consisted of people just like me and the lack of exposure limited
my viewpoint. Hearing my friend s story of her hard, lonely life in Los Angeles with her detached
family opened my eyes to the reality of mankind. It is easy to judge evil from far away, but when we
are exposed to the hurt and pain that causes the corrupt behavior, empathy comes rushing in. Her
experiences were something I

Thomas Carlyle once said, Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you will see farther. I
strongly believe that if one plans on achieving his aspirations, setting goals is a very important step.
Having goals not only gives you a clear focus on things, but it also helps you to organize your plans by
allowing you to give yourself time limits and boundaries. That is why I try to set goals for myself
routinely, whether it is just for one day, or for the rest of my life. One goal that I work hard at daily is
to do well in high school. I try to involve myself in any activity that I can, both academically and

Multiple Myeloma Presenting With Spinal Cord Compression: Case Report
Liew Chiu Yee
Abstract
Multiple myeloma is a haematological malignancy characterized by clonal proliferation of malignant
plasma cell in the bone marrow with diffuse bony involvement. The spine is the most common
skeletal site being involved. This case report describes a multiple myeloma patient presented with
spinal cord compression and illustrates the aspects of differential diagnosis, the use of laboratory and
imaging for diagnosis.
Introduction
Multiple myeloma accounts for 1% of all malignancies and 10% of haematological malignancies.
Ninety eight percent of cases occur over the age of 40 years with the median age of diagnosis at 66
years old.
Multiple myeloma is characterized by plasma cell accumulation in the bone marrow commonly
localized in the spine. 80 90% of patients develop myeloma bone disease at some stage of their
disease. Myeloma bone disease associated morbidities include bone pain, pathological fractures,
spinal cord compression and hypercalcaemia. Bony lesion in myeloma is lytic in nature and
pathological fracture is a frequent complication. Spinal cord compression is a complication of
pathological fracture of spinal column or extension of vertebral body myeloma lesion. Imaging
techniques are essential to identify the extent of intramedullary and extramedullary foci, and to
evaluate disease progression. A multidisciplinary approach is needed in the management of spinal
involvement in multiple myeloma.

Classical Conditioning And Operant Conditioning
In this booklet you will find an overview of all the different approaches to psychology. This will
consist of the key assumptions, examples of the relevant psychologists and examples of their work, as
well as an exploration into the advantages and disadvantages that some of these approaches possess.
Behaviourism is a theory of learning based upon the idea that all behaviours are attained through
conditioning. Behaviourists believe conditioning occurs when we interact with the environment and
that the environment we are in determines the way we respond to a stimulus. The behaviourist
approach believes we learn behaviours through association between response and consequence. For
instance, by touching a hot iron you will feel pain. Therefore, we learn from this, and know not to
touch a hot iron as we associate feeling pain as a consequence of this action. There are two forms of
conditioning within the behaviourist approach; classical conditioning and operant conditioning.
Behaviourists believe that individuals are born without built in mental content, known as a blank slate
and that all behaviours arise from experience or perception.
Classical conditioning says that we learn behaviours by associating the response to the stimulus. An
example of this can be found from the work of Ivan Pavlov. In the 1890s Pavlov, a Russian
physiologist, carried out some experiments with a dogs. He noticed that when a dog eats food, they
salivate: this is an unconditional response to an

The Pros And Cons Of Bullying In School
What if you were terrified to go to your school every day? 160,000 students miss school everyday
because they get bullied and are scared of what will happen ( Bullying Statistics ). Bullying has been a
major problem in schools for too long. Students should not be scared to go to a place that is supposed
to be safe and where they can express themselves. Students that bully never get the punishment they
deserve which causes them to continue to act. When you go to school, you should know that if you are
getting treated in a horrific way, the people who were treating you that way will get punished.
Students who bully should be suspended from school.
The bullies in schools never think they will get severely punished, so they don t stop. They think that
they won t be caught and that bullying isn t a huge deal, but it is. Bullying causes students to not go to
school, to feel alone, and to leave their school feeling worthless. If the bully were to be suspended,
he/she would learn quickly that what they are doing is wrong in so many ways. They will realize that
bullying can be the reason they don t get into their dream school or do something they love. On the
other hand, victims of bullying don t come forward and voice that the have been taunted, teased, and

Date: Electric Field and Electric Potential
Abstract
The purpose of this lab exercise was to map out electric potential (v) around electrodes in a water
bath. This was done by measuring the voltage drop between one fixed location and a large number of
various locations in the water. Afterwards, the associated field was calculated. The electric field
strength E, was calculated from a map of the electric potentials by taking the potential difference
between two closely spaced points on either side of the point of interest and dividing it by the distance
between two closely spaced points.
Experimental Procedure: This experiment was accomplished in two parts. In part ... Show more

From the data recorded, the equipotential lines did not cross each other since each of the equipotential
line was assigned a specific value of electric field. From this experiment, it is evident that the RMS
voltage inside the ring decreased with an increase in distance of separation. This suggests that, the
electric field inside the ring was not the same in all points. It was also noted from the graphs that the
proportionality that existed between the electric field, E, and 1/r was consistent with the linear
dependence of electric potential with ln (r) since both of them increased with an increase in electric
field. In addition, both were characterized by a positive gradient. Similarly, the electric field lines
drawn were perpendicular to the equipotential lines, the reason being that the electric potential is
equivalent to the electric field multiplied by the distance. The two point probe was used to measure the
electric field in this lab since it is capable of measuring low frequency electric fields. As a result, the
measurements were considered accurate. The difference in the calculated value of the charge per unit
length λ, for both the graphs of 1n(r) versus voltage and the graph of 1/r versus the electric field, was
small (insignificant), i.e. 0.04592 and 0.03287 respectively. Further, the percentage

Examples Of Anti-Transcendentalism In Moby Dick
Introduction The Anti Transcendentalism movement was a movement against all conventional beliefs.
A participant in this movement was Herman Melville, most famous for his novel Moby Dick. Moby
Dick highlights the journey of an obsessive quest to find a whale. The obsessive quest leads Ishmael,
the main character, to his death because he tries to work against the forces of nature, which expresses
some of Melville s Anti Transcendentalist beliefs through this particular novel. The Anti
Transcendentalists or the American Gothic writers emphasized two major themes: the destructive
power of nature and the dark side of the human mind, and paved the way for modern horror stories.
The Power of Nature Once a person becomes attached or obsessed to a specific person, place, or even
an idea, it is extremely difficult to expel this obsession. Ishmael becomes attached to Moby Dick. He
does not execute a single action or take a simple breathe without thinking of this whale. Ishmael s
obsession with this whale is to taken to such an extent that he is willing to venture through extreme
obstacles out on the sea just to murder the whale that is responsible for his missing leg. As always, the
power of nature overcomes the ignorance of man. Nature does what nature wants. No one gets to tell
nature what to do, it is one of the only aspects of life we truly are incapable of controlling. When we
hear a hurricane warning, and most sensible people will take precautions, those who do not,

The French Art Nouveau Movement And The International...
Throughout history, the motifs and characteristics of graphic design have changed tremendously. The
unique qualities of poster designs from the French Art Nouveau movement and the International
Typographic Style both reflect their social environments at the time. Henri de Toulouse Lautrec s La
Goulue au Moulin Rouge and Alphonse Mucha s Monaco Monte Carlo demonstrate the techniques
and qualities of the Art Nouveau era, while Josef Müller Brockmann s Der Film and Neue Grafik /
New Graphic Design / Graphisme actuel, no. 2 by Carlo L. Vivarelli demonstrate the techniques and
qualities of the International Typographic Style.
La Goulue au Moulin Rouge, a color lithograph created in 1891 by the French artist Henri de Toulouse
Lautrec, is a predominant design work which reflects the art of the French Art Nouveau. Toulouse
Lautrec was a prolific artist who created a great number of paintings, drawings, etchings, lithographs,
posters, and illustrations for various newspapers (Funk Wagnalls). Toulouse Lautrec had flirted with
Impressionism in his adolescent works, absorbed the lessons of the Japanese woodblock Ukiyo e
prints and developed an immediately recognizable style with its crisp articulation of form, abrupt
truncations of compositional structures and vivid colors used as much for emotional impact as for their
descriptive value (Grishin 64). One piece that specifically exemplifies those characteristics would be
his poster, La Goulue au Moulin Rouge. The poster was

Harrison Bergeron Response Essay
Vonnegut Response In the story, Harrison Bergeron , written by Kurt Vonnegut, we read about a
society that is equal. Harrison Bergeron is a futuristic story that shows the ill effects of an attempt by
the government to make everyone equal or fair. The only way to accomplish this was to penalize or
handicap the talented, so the untalented could be equal to them. In the opening paragraph, Vonnegut
sets the story in the future by mentioning the year is 2081. He also provides an allusion to the
constitution by mentioning the 211th, 212th, and 213th amendments. This illustrates how much the
country has changed considering that there were only 22 constitutional amendments at the time the
story was written. Vonnegut makes it very easy to see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By making everyone equal, the government just penalized everyone who wasn t the worst at
everything. This meant there was no person who excelled in anything. Everyone had the same abilities
which were very limited. Even though they all were equal after the handicaps, the best still stuck out
as they had handicaps that were visible. Those who didn t have to be handicapped were likely jealous
of those who had many so it still didn t fix the equality problem. This is similar to some government
activities today such as the, No child left behind act. This act penalizes those who are good in school
by limiting their opportunities, which allows the struggling students a better chance to pass. All this
does is hinder the talented. It doesn t help society or increase the quality of life. It is similar to the
socialist governments that believe everyone should make the same money. The socialists believe those
who worked hard and prosper should have to give up what they have so the poor who did nothing to
earn the money can be equal. This over time causes the productive people to be less productive
because they have no incentive anymore. This is why the poor or lazy people, are always pushing for
equality. If they can be equal monetarily wise without doing anything to get there, why wouldn t they

The NSA was mainly spying on other countries while those other countries were spying on the United

option of monetizing would people would surely benefit from this meanwhile, the corporations and
the government would significantly loose their power. To begin, Jaron Lanier, author of the article,

whatever price he/she puts on it because monetizing would allow one to have full power over their

Description and Reflection of Dallas Museum The Dallas Museum is a renowned art museum
established in 1903 and is located in Dallas, Texas (Neumann et al. 19). The Dallas Museum of art is
one of the largest art museums in the United States of America containing more than 24,000
collections of art ranging from the ancient to the modern ones (MacDonald Brettell 112). There are
numerous things inside the museum, such as the pieces of art, museum visitors, and the architecture,
that relate to the understanding of the world outside the museum in terms of the day to day life and the
human society. My goal in this essay is to think outside the box and describe the observations I made
inside the museum and explain how they relate to my everyday life, the wider world, or the human
society. The painting work done by C. Bertram Hartman was the first piece of art I observed inside the
Dallas Museum. This painting, completed in 1930, consists of a campanile type tower, most likely a
representation of a historic skyscraper (Walker 73). The painting applies a fractured perspective
blended on an urban look with muted color palettes accompanied by harsh shadows (MacDonald
Brettell 117). The painting is a reflection of the dynamism and energetic expansion of the current New
York City. The geometrical arrangement of the buildings in the painting resemble the current scenes

think this book has been tried to be banned and if I think it should be banned. My book is about 4
close friends who buy a pair of jeans at a thrift store. The pants somehow magically fit every girl even
though their body types are very different. The girls go off to different places for the summer and
decide to share the pants so everyone can get to wear them for two weeks. After the two weeks they
will send them off to the next girl. Everyone goes through a rough time while with the pants but the
other girls are there to help support the whole

Streetcar Named Desire Sex
A Streetcar Named Desire Tennessee Williams play A Streetcar Named Desire introduced an ailing
America of certain anxieties; William portrays what World War I did to families, how sex was on
American s mind, and how violent, brutal, and disruptive people were during this time.
World War I drastically changed families while the husband went off and fought in war the wives had
to do work in some sort to make a living. Husbands felt as if they had been to war they were the one
making the money for their family. The women also helped out by making things to support their
troops. Recovering from the Great Depression, World War I, and the Dust Bowl, Americans were
familiar with violence in their day to day lives and, to an extent, ... Show more content on

Keys to Personal Leadership
KEYS TO PERSONAL LEADERSHIP initiative and selfreliance
Mr. Ronay s history encompasses 35 years of leadership as a CEO, consultant, founder, trainer, and
coach in technology, life style, leadership, change management, and disruptive businesses
domestically and internationally. He has devoted much energy to public service and volunteer
organizations. Written for the Aug Austin Software Council newsletter.. June, 2001
The ability to lead is a peculiar combination of human characteristics equal to, if not more important
than the ability to discover, to invent, and to create. Invention results from the experiment with the
unknown; leadership, by contrast, grows out of experience with what is already known. The Austin

No one needs to tell them what time to get up and go to work. If they re in a new situation they take
the initiative to ask. They ask, seek, and knock. People enter a profession without background all the
time and succeed because they practice the leadership quality of self reliance. They take personal
responsibility for developing the necessary skills and knowledge to be a successful leader.
Leaders are aware that when you exercise initiative and self reliance, you live a life with a vision,
purpose and goal direction. Just taking charge can be what leadership is all about a self starter.
Consider the following suggestions for developing initiative and self reliance:
1) Start a written goals program dealing with developing the courage and will to expand your initiative
and self reliance no matter what others think, say or do. Keep it simple, review it daily, track your
progress, and test for results.
2) Write a plan of action about something you want to lead and spend at least 10 minutes every day on
that plan of action and do it for every area of your life. If you do nothing more than just read it every
day. That s an affirmation. It s spaced repetition. It s getting it from your conscious into your
subconscious.
3) Take the action steps that you plan in your plan of action. Great plans and fantastic goals are
worthless unless they exist in actions rather than just on the paper. They must be translated with
initiative into daily activity. All the plans of

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings Thesis
Kasonde Chisaka AP Lang 8/12/16 Title: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings Author: Maya Angelou
Copyright Date: 1969, 1997 Summary In the memoir, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, late author
Maya Angelou chronicles her experiences in the early stages of her life. The book explains the
hardships, prejudices as well as the tragedies she went through as a child living in the deep South
during the segregation era. Angelou gradually tells her life story in first person perspective as a child,
tween, and eventual teen. Over the course of her life she gains knowledge and perspective which
eventually leads to her desire to be become an author and poet. As a child Angelou, born Marguerite
Johnson, was abandoned by her parents and left to the care of her grandmother who she referred to as
Momma in Stamps, Arkansas. Accompanied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Freeman. After the failed prosecution and eventual murder of Mr. Freeman, Angelou began to spiral
into a deep depression. Her constant dreary emotion eventually led to her return back to Stamps in the
hope that it would lift her spirits. However it was evident she was only able to communicate to Bailey,
her trusted confidant. Nevertheless, Angelou would soon be introduced to a Ms. Flowers who showed
her the power of literature. During their time spent together Ms. Flowers often told Angelou that [She]
must always be intolerant of ignorance, but understanding of illiteracy, and added, ...some people,
unable to go to school are more intelligent than college professors, (104). This lesson created a new
era in Angelou s life in which she would be fully aware of the world around her and notices how those
who struggled in their lives and learned through experience were far more intelligent than those who
had things handed to them. In addition, Ms. Flowers taught Angelou how to find her voice after she

Thomas Edison And The Light Bulb Essay
Everyone in their lifetime has heard the name Thomas Edison at least once. However, if you asked
those same people why Thomas Edison was so famous, ninety percent of the time they would tell you
it was because he invented the light bulb, and each of them would be completely wrong. Thomas
Edison did not invent the light bulb; in fact, someone had the idea for it almost one hundred years
before Mr. Edison was even born. To invent something means to come up with the idea in the first
place, as well as to actually carry it out.
In this paper I will give you insights into the life of Thomas Edison and explain why people get
confused in thinking the light bulb was his idea. He also had several other interesting experiments, and
we will take a look at what people thought of them. I believe Thomas Edison is one of the greatest
minds that have ever existed on planet earth, and the rest of this paper will be devoted to showing you
why this is true.
If one stopped and thought about all the amazing and wonderful inventions that this world has ever
seen, what would be number one on that list? Most people in today s world would probably say items
that they use on a daily basis. If we made a list of what some people might say, it might include such
things as automobiles, their new iPhone, advancements in medicine, heaters, air conditioning, power
tools, gaming systems, IPods, etc., and the list could go on and on.
Though we could list thousands of inventions that have been truly

Genetic Screening and Physiological Testing in Young Athletes
I was stretching when I heard an overenthusiastic mother gloating on behalf of her daughter stating
that her daughter was smart and capable of becoming an elite figure skater when one coach explained,
She doesn t have the right body. Followed by the unmistakable whimpering of a little girl crying and
an arguing parent, it was clear the little girl did not meet the standard of flexibility and body
composition to reach the upper echelon of figure skating that her mother expected and she wanted.
Flexibility is a necessity in figure skating in order to execute technique well, while a low percentage
of body fat is important for aerobic power and jump height (Winter et al. 317). Angrily storming out,
the mother made it clear to the coach that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These tests will also increase competition making for more exciting spectator sports, and benefit the
United States by maintaining its international competitiveness and top Olympic rank.
It would be beneficial for individual athletes to use talent identification and search programs designed
to scout young athletes for future Olympics. Athletes put a tremendous amount of hours and years into
their specific sport in hopes of reaching high levels of competition one day, such as the Olympics. By
implementing a mode of genetic testing and testing physiological traits, it would remove the factor of
chance and give a more accurate reading of athletes likeliness to reach their goals. In addition, these
measures will save time by allowing the children to get involved in activities that fit them early on,
ultimately saving money as well. A mother, Donna Campiglia, replied eagerly to the idea of genetic
testing explaining that it would also save parental frustration (Macur). Some may argue that seeking
traits in a young child would ruin the factor of enjoyment in the sport, but if the child shows success in
the sport, there would be a higher chance of them enjoying what they do (Epstein). The benefits of
making these tests more available can be life changing for

Black, Black And Black
As one compares Marvel and DC characters, it can be seen that many of the characters are almost
identical. For example, Black Widow and Black Canary are two female superheroes from Marvel and
DC graphic novels respectively. These two female crime fighters play key roles on their teams, have
great skills, and are exceedingly agile. However, which character is the better superheroine? Marvel s
Black Widow is far superior to Black Canary in her more consistent background and history, more
widespread experience, and more numerous skills. Admittedly, it is true that Black Canary far exceeds
Widow in terms of her role as a part of a team. Black Widow played a key role as one of the Avengers,
but she then took up the mantle of leadership from Captain America because he left active Avengers
duty following internal ethical disputes regarding the Kree Shi ar War (Fichera). In contrast, Black
Canary has experience leading the Justice League, the Birds of Prey, and the Outsiders to name a few.
Black Canary has been an important figure in all of her teams, even when she was not a leader. Over
her crime fighting career, Black Canary has fought alongside Batman, Supergirl, Green Arrow, and
Aquaman, to name a few. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In regards to their backgrounds, Black
Widow has a more stable history that becomes more elaborate with her every appearance. Black
Widow was born around 1928

A Comparison of Two Different Newspapers
A Comparison of Two Different Newspapers
In the following essay, I intend to compare the differences and similarities in which two different
newspapers a tabloid (The Mirror) and a broadsheet (The Times) report the same story. I will be
looking at the presentation and the use of language as well as the basics of how the story is put
forward and told. Both papers are reporting the same story in which Prince Philip made a statement
along the lines that guns are no more dangerous than cricket bats following a shooting at a school in
Dunblane in Scotland. In general there are many differences between tabloids and broadsheets. A
tabloid is smaller than a broadsheet, usually being about half the ... Show more content on

The headline claims the Prince to be foolish in the form of a pun foolip .
In an article the lead paragraph is designed to have a large impact on the reader which sums up the
story in a short space. This is useful for people who haven t got time to read the full article. It is also
designed to interest the reader so they read on. In The Mirror the lead paragraph is simple and bold,
full of emotion and sensational language such as sparked outrage to over exaggerate the story. The
lead paragraph is designed to be short and straight to the point but it fails to mention any positive side
to the Princes comment, which is revealed later on in the article. This again shows signs of The Mirror
being bias. The Times is more informative and is not bias in any way. It explains how he said that
members of shooting clubs were no more dangerous than members of golf or squash clubs . The
paragraph also contains more honest language and less sensational language and it over exaggerates
less.
The final effective presentational features in the newspapers are the pictures. In The Mirror the picture
makes the Prince look stupid and foolish, in this way it ties in with the headline. The picture has been
taken at a particular moment and catches the Prince with a stupid look on his face. Inside the

  • 2. World Wrestling History So the history of world wrestling goes back a long time. It was the first sport to ever be created. The first real traces of the development of wrestling date back to the times of the Sumerians, over 5,000 years ago. There are also many historical and archaeological traces of wrestling in Ancient Egypt. Drawings were discovered in Ancient Egypt in the tombs of Beni Hassan representing 400 couples of wrestlers. These drawings witness the existence of corporations of wrestlers in Ancient Egypt, wrestling rules, and refereeing codes (United World Wrestling). For the Greeks, wrestling was a science and a divine art , and it represented the most important training for young men. Athletes wrestled naked, with their bodies coated in olive oil and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the end of the 19th century, professional wrestling was the most popular sport in Europe. Competitions helped to make wrestling more popular, the physical aspect of wrestlers served as a model to young men and the training system allowed ameteur wrestling clubs to rapidly become more structured. In 1904 freestyle wrestling was introduced during the St.Louis Games and was only practiced by American Wrestlers. It was only during the fourth olympic Games held in London in 1908 that competitions were organized for both styles. Wrestling matches took place on three mats that were placed outside. A regular match lasted 1 hour, but finalists wrestled without a time limit. After this Olympic Games, Wrestling started to develope in every country Worldwide. Northern Europe countries maintained Greco Roman wrestling, where freestyle wrestling was largely dominated by the English and the Americans. In Amsterdam, in 1928, the first African wrestler won the Olympic title. In 1952 the first Asian wrestler won the Olympic title in Helsinki. Female Wrestling was finally introduced to the Olympics in 2004 during the Athens Games. Now that you know which is more dense, what must be true of the particles that make it more dense? Prior to completing this lab I believed the nail would be more dense than the stopper. After performing the experiment, the iron nail contains more particles by volume than the rubber stopper does. Part IV 10. The accepted value for the density of aluminum is 2.699 g/cm3. Using this density and the masses of your two samples of aluminum foil, calculate the volume of aluminum in each sample: the regular vs. the heavy duty. (Note: You will have to use a bit of algebra and the formula D = m/v for this calculation!) You must show all your work. • 5. The Role Of Settler Colonization And Its Negative... In April 1995 Pamela George, an Ojibway women, was brutally murdered in Saskatchewan. Her murderers Steven Kummerfield and Alex Ternowetsky, young middle class white men, were convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to merely six and a half years in prison. George s story is one of the many Indigenous women who have been murdered or missing over the past years. There are over 580 cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women, close to half are put aside and left unsolved. Only 53% of these cases have lead to charges of homicide (Klement 8). Drastically, statistics indicate that Aboriginals are faced with more hardships throughout their life compared to the average Canadian. Indigenous groups, particularly women, suffer from a lower rate of education, higher suicide rates and an array of health risks. This paper will examine the role settler colonization history has played in perpetuating conditions for violence to indigenous women, many of which are still experienced today. This will be accomplished by first assessing the history of settler colonization and its negative repercussions. Secondly, it will use Sherene Razak s concept of spatial segregation, to illustrate how state institutions have facilitated violence through space, race and the law. Lastly, this paper will use evidence from the film Finding Dawn to further demonstrate how violence towards indigenous women is institutionally produced. In the 16th century, French colonists arrived to Newfoundland ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Psychological Factors of Addiction Essay The basis for addiction can be assigned to a combination of social, physiological and psychological aspects. Social factors highlight the fundamental tendency for humans to interact and form social groups which contributes to the commencement of addiction. The intricacy of the human brain has slowed the understanding of physiological and psychological factors, however experts agree the neurotransmitter dopamine is instrumental to explaining the cause of addiction and ascertaining successful pathways to assist addicted individuals. Analysing addiction within the domain of methamphetamine use provides an insight to the causes and potential treatment strategies for these individuals. There is no single treatment for methamphetamine addiction, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ultimately, these factors contribute to the development of methamphetamine abuse but also provide tangible strategies to counteract addiction. Boshears et al. (2011) suggest methamphetamine users separate from existing social networks that encourage consumption and discover new networks that support cessation of drug use. However, many methamphetamine addicts would be forced to disassociate from immediate family or be required to terminate employment which create limitations due to the impracticality of these changes. Evidently, social determinants contribute to methamphetamine addiction, however successful treatment can only occur in conjunction with the attenuation of significant physiological and psychological factors. The complexity of the human brain creates mystery when determining the influence of neurophysiological factors and their role in the process of addiction. There is a proposed relationship between drug addiction and the mesolimbic dopamine system, with the mesolimbic pathway from the ventral tegmental area to the nucleus accumbens considered the reward centre of the human brain (Alcohol Rehab, 2011). A release of dopamine is necessary for reward which is hypothesised to initiate the addiction cycle by providing positive reinforcement for drug self administration (Feltenstein See, 2009). Methamphetamine triggers the release of dopamine from synaptic vesicles which flood the synaptic cleft activating feelings of euphoria, well being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Secondary Prevention Programs Essay The Secondary Prevention Programs provide treatment such as psychological counseling to youths and adults that have violated the law. Unfortunately, there is an extreme disconnect in providing adequate services to people that have committed crimes after they have met all rehabilitative requirements under the law. The prison system was initially designed to rehabilitate people that have operated outside of the confines of law so that once their debt is paid they are to assimilate back into society. If a person completes their prison sentence and returns to normal society with no options of creating a productive life is it safe to say that we create criminals and punish them for their crimes. • 9. The Is A Victim Of Discrimination And Oppression Mereana is identified as a victim of discrimination and oppression as a result of her family being deeply religious and she is a committed Christian. As being from a Christian family her culture is strictly against homosexuality. Mereana is concerned because her family do not have the wish to talk about her woman partner even though she loves her more than anything else in the world. Reasoning this is she has not formally come out to the family. From my perspective the idea of being marginalised has already been set by the family. Mereana is basically trying to articulate she only wants acceptance, and she wants her family to appreciate her and her woman partner with open loving arms, and especially to approve of who they are as a person regardless of their sexual orientation. It seen like Mereana wants homosexuality to be seen as just another alternative lifestyle. But her culture, the Bible does not support homosexuality, nor does it support homosexual marriage. Homosexual marriage is perceived as condemned. Marriage is conceived as a legal union only between a man and a woman. This legislation portrays as a declaration about how the heterosexual family is appraised and how all other family forms are not. Which Americans were most affected by this act and how did they respond to the Tea Act of 1773? One main point from my first paragraph is the Tea act of 1773 was one of the very many taxes and laws put on the American Colonies by the British. One point from my second paragraph would be the affect this Act had on the Americans with business s. the people with business s were in fear that this Tea Act would put them out of business s and they would not be able to provide for their family s and keep their home up and running. My third paragraph is talking about what lead up to the Tea Act of 1773. The main thing that lead up to this act would be the British being in so much dept. from war and moving their soldiers from one place to another and supplying them with weapons and food and clothing. My fourth paragraph is going to be talking about the way the Americans responded to the Tea Act of 1773. • 11. Buchnera Aphidicol Southern Blot Analysis Aphids possess bacteriocytes that are specific to its obligate mutualist, Buchnera aphidicola. It seems that this genus has lost genes that are essential to its life. Through Southern Blot analysis, Nikoh and Nakabachi have shown that these lost genes are actually encoded in the aphid genome. Through detailed structural and phylogenetic analyses, the full length sequences of these transcripts were determined. This demonstrated that these transcripts are indeed significantly similar to multiple bacterial genes. While the Buchnera no longer possess these genes, other similar bacteria (E. Coli) possess these genes. Nikoh and Nakabachi were able to conclude that they found several pieces of evidence that show that aphids are indeed able to acquire genes from bacteria through lateral gene transfer. The same species as the one mentioned before, Buchnera aphidicola has a highly reduced genome, which increases the chances that gene transfer occurred from the bacteria to the aphid. Using the pea aphid, Acyrthosiphon pisum, they were able to provide stronger support of the transfer of 12 genes from the bacteria to the aphid genome. While they were able to identify this transfer between the pea aphid and the bacteria, they found that none of these genes were transferred between Buchnera and the aphid, just like in the previous study. Sandstrom et al. looked at different ways this gene transfer could have occurred. Insects in general usually host secondary bacterial symbionts along with primary endosymbionts. Both symbionts are maternally transmitted. Their results showed that a community of bacteria invades aphid cells and are transmitted both vertically and horizontally among other aphid lineages. • 13. Death of a Salesman vs. Tragedy and the Common Man It makes little sense that tragedy should only pertain to those in high ranks. As explained in his essay Tragedy and the Common Man, Arthur Miller establishes the pattern for his own notion of a tragedy and the consequent ramifications for the tragic hero. This pattern supports the central idea that a tragedy can occur for characters who are common men as well as those in high places. Throughout his paper, Miller demonstrates that it should be possible for every reader to be able to identify with the tragic hero. Miller redefines tragedy as more common occurrence than what might happen in tragedies such as portrayed by Shakespeare and other classical writers, thus defining Death of a Salesman as a tragedy. Willy Loman is a tragic hero. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Willy, like traditional tragic heroes, possesses a tragic flaw. The possibility of victory must be there in tragedy (Miller, Tragedy and the Common Man ). Setting aside Willy s tragic flaw, there is also a certain amount of hope and optimism that Willy might change. If there is a possibility of bringing an element of hope into this play, there is also a conceivable possibility of change. Change is the compelling force without which there would be no hope. And with change comes a reasonable possibility of victory. Throughout this entire play, Willy lives by the credo be well liked. Someday I ll have my own business, and I ll never have to leave home any more... bigger that Uncle Charley! Because Charley is not liked. He s liked, but he s not well liked (Miller, Death of a Salesman 30) Willy finds this untrue as he increasingly makes less and less money on business trips. Howard, and now I can t even pay my insurance! You can t eat the orange and throw away the peel! A man is not a piece of fruit (Miller, Death of a Salesman 82) Willy, however, refuses to change his view of the world and therefore is destined to continue his struggle upstream. What makes this play tragic for me, though, is that Willy does not change. It is sadly his tragic flaw that brings about this failure. His unwillingness to submit passively to the established order and values is his demise. He has a set idea in his mind about how he wants to be and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Holocaust And The Eugenics Movement When you see a Nazi flag, what do you feel? Many people usually start to feel a little anxiety because they associate very strong negative feelings with the flag. This is because Americans are widely familiar with the atrocities committed by Nazi Germany. However, most Americans are quite less educated about similar atrocities committed in the United States. Case in point: did you know that the Native American population today is a mere 10 percent of what it was before the Age of Exploration (meaning that there population has been decreased 90 percent due to genocide, diseases, etc.) ? Did you know that there was a sterilization movement in the United States that found success in getting their laws passed in state legislation? These less well known facts are quite similar to actions carried out by the Nazis, such as the holocaust and the sterilization movement that took place in Germany during the 1930 s. Nazi Eugenics and racism was not a unique instance but rather part of a larger global trend of justifying racism through Religion and Biology, as seen in the United States. Anti Semitism dates back to the conception of Christianity. Because Jesus was Jewish, the steadfastness of the Jews in their beliefs is a stumbling block to Christians. Judaism is the older of the two religions, Christianity stemming from Judaism. • 16. My Experience In Boarding School My name boomed over the intercom and the April sunshine did not warm me as I uneasily made my way to the front office. I had been enrolled in boarding school for eight months when I was told there was a new girl coming and was asked to help her through the first few frightening weeks. Being a big sister involved teaching her about what living at boarding school was like, along with just being her friend. This was an honor and immense responsibility, making me not only excited, but anxious as well. Despite repeated nerves, I was eager to find out about her life and rise to the occasion. Walking an apprehensive girl through the ropes of boarding school made me a stronger, more stable person because it offered me a new perspective, valuable support, and the fulfillment of becoming a giving friend. The next few weeks included a major lesson in a more expansive worldview. In particular, people with different experiences can introduce me to a new perspective. The responsibility I attained gave me a more developed worldview that I had previously been sheltered from. In other words, my background consisted of people just like me and the lack of exposure limited my viewpoint. Hearing my friend s story of her hard, lonely life in Los Angeles with her detached family opened my eyes to the reality of mankind. It is easy to judge evil from far away, but when we are exposed to the hurt and pain that causes the corrupt behavior, empathy comes rushing in. Her experiences were something I ... That is why I try to set goals for myself routinely, whether it is just for one day, or for the rest of my life. One goal that I work hard at daily is to do well in high school. This will consist of the key assumptions, examples of the relevant psychologists and examples of their work, as well as an exploration into the advantages and disadvantages that some of these approaches possess. Behaviourism is a theory of learning based upon the idea that all behaviours are attained through conditioning. Behaviourists believe conditioning occurs when we interact with the environment and that the environment we are in determines the way we respond to a stimulus. The behaviourist approach believes we learn behaviours through association between response and consequence. For instance, by touching a hot iron you will feel pain. Therefore, we learn from this, and know not to touch a hot iron as we associate feeling pain as a consequence of this action. There are two forms of conditioning within the behaviourist approach; classical conditioning and operant conditioning. Behaviourists believe that individuals are born without built in mental content, known as a blank slate and that all behaviours arise from experience or perception. Classical conditioning says that we learn behaviours by associating the response to the stimulus. An example of this can be found from the work of Ivan Pavlov. In the 1890s Pavlov, a Russian physiologist, carried out some experiments with a dogs. He noticed that when a dog eats food, they salivate: this is an unconditional response to an ... This was done by measuring the voltage drop between one fixed location and a large number of various locations in the water. Afterwards, the associated field was calculated. The electric field strength E, was calculated from a map of the electric potentials by taking the potential difference between two closely spaced points on either side of the point of interest and dividing it by the distance between two closely spaced points. From the data recorded, the equipotential lines did not cross each other since each of the equipotential line was assigned a specific value of electric field. From this experiment, it is evident that the RMS voltage inside the ring decreased with an increase in distance of separation. This suggests that, the electric field inside the ring was not the same in all points. It was also noted from the graphs that the proportionality that existed between the electric field, E, and 1/r was consistent with the linear dependence of electric potential with ln (r) since both of them increased with an increase in electric field. In addition, both were characterized by a positive gradient. Similarly, the electric field lines drawn were perpendicular to the equipotential lines, the reason being that the electric potential is equivalent to the electric field multiplied by the distance. The two point probe was used to measure the electric field in this lab since it is capable of measuring low frequency electric fields. As a result, the measurements were considered accurate. The difference in the calculated value of the charge per unit length λ, for both the graphs of 1n(r) versus voltage and the graph of 1/r versus the electric field, was small (insignificant), i.e. 0.04592 and 0.03287 respectively. A participant in this movement was Herman Melville, most famous for his novel Moby Dick. Moby Dick highlights the journey of an obsessive quest to find a whale. The obsessive quest leads Ishmael, the main character, to his death because he tries to work against the forces of nature, which expresses some of Melville s Anti Transcendentalist beliefs through this particular novel. The Anti Transcendentalists or the American Gothic writers emphasized two major themes: the destructive power of nature and the dark side of the human mind, and paved the way for modern horror stories. The Power of Nature Once a person becomes attached or obsessed to a specific person, place, or even an idea, it is extremely difficult to expel this obsession. Ishmael becomes attached to Moby Dick. He does not execute a single action or take a simple breathe without thinking of this whale. La Goulue au Moulin Rouge, a color lithograph created in 1891 by the French artist Henri de Toulouse Lautrec, is a predominant design work which reflects the art of the French Art Nouveau. Toulouse Lautrec was a prolific artist who created a great number of paintings, drawings, etchings, lithographs, posters, and illustrations for various newspapers (Funk Wagnalls). Toulouse Lautrec had flirted with Impressionism in his adolescent works, absorbed the lessons of the Japanese woodblock Ukiyo e prints and developed an immediately recognizable style with its crisp articulation of form, abrupt truncations of compositional structures and vivid colors used as much for emotional impact as for their descriptive value (Grishin 64). The only way to accomplish this was to penalize or handicap the talented, so the untalented could be equal to them. In the opening paragraph, Vonnegut sets the story in the future by mentioning the year is 2081. He also provides an allusion to the constitution by mentioning the 211th, 212th, and 213th amendments. Sanford ENG 1301 !8th November, 2017 Description and Reflection of Dallas Museum The Dallas Museum is a renowned art museum established in 1903 and is located in Dallas, Texas (Neumann et al. 19). The Dallas Museum of art is one of the largest art museums in the United States of America containing more than 24,000 collections of art ranging from the ancient to the modern ones (MacDonald Brettell 112). There are numerous things inside the museum, such as the pieces of art, museum visitors, and the architecture, that relate to the understanding of the world outside the museum in terms of the day to day life and the human society. My goal in this essay is to think outside the box and describe the observations I made inside the museum and explain how they relate to my everyday life, the wider world, or the human society. The painting work done by C. Bertram Hartman was the first piece of art I observed inside the Dallas Museum. This painting, completed in 1930, consists of a campanile type tower, most likely a representation of a historic skyscraper (Walker 73). The painting applies a fractured perspective blended on an urban look with muted color palettes accompanied by harsh shadows (MacDonald Brettell 117). The painting is a reflection of the dynamism and energetic expansion of the current New York City. The geometrical arrangement of the buildings in the painting resemble the current scenes witnessed in New York, championing a fast pace and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They take personal responsibility for developing the necessary skills and knowledge to be a successful leader. Leaders are aware that when you exercise initiative and self reliance, you live a life with a vision, purpose and goal direction. Just taking charge can be what leadership is all about a self starter. Consider the following suggestions for developing initiative and self reliance: 1) Start a written goals program dealing with developing the courage and will to expand your initiative and self reliance no matter what others think, say or do. Keep it simple, review it daily, track your progress, and test for results. 2) Write a plan of action about something you want to lead and spend at least 10 minutes every day on that plan of action and do it for every area of your life. If you do nothing more than just read it every day. That s an affirmation. It s spaced repetition. It s getting it from your conscious into your subconscious. 3) Take the action steps that you plan in your plan of action. However, if you asked those same people why Thomas Edison was so famous, ninety percent of the time they would tell you it was because he invented the light bulb, and each of them would be completely wrong. Thomas Edison did not invent the light bulb; in fact, someone had the idea for it almost one hundred years before Mr. Edison was even born. To invent something means to come up with the idea in the first place, as well as to actually carry it out. In this paper I will give you insights into the life of Thomas Edison and explain why people get confused in thinking the light bulb was his idea. By implementing a mode of genetic testing and testing physiological traits, it would remove the factor of chance and give a more accurate reading of athletes likeliness to reach their goals. In addition, these measures will save time by allowing the children to get involved in activities that fit them early on, ultimately saving money as well. A mother, Donna Campiglia, replied eagerly to the idea of genetic testing explaining that it would also save parental frustration (Macur). In The Mirror the lead paragraph is simple and bold, full of emotion and sensational language such as sparked outrage to over exaggerate the story. The lead paragraph is designed to be short and straight to the point but it fails to mention any positive side to the Princes comment, which is revealed later on in the article. This again shows signs of The Mirror being bias. The Times is more informative and is not bias in any way. It explains how he said that members of shooting clubs were no more dangerous than members of golf or squash clubs . The paragraph also contains more honest language and less sensational language and it over exaggerates less. The final effective presentational features in the newspapers are the pictures.
