The US Secret Service Essay examples
Although the original mission of the United States Secret Services was to control and prevent
counterfeit money in the United States after the Civil War in 1865, by 1930 the role of the Secret
Service had greatly expanded. Many events occurred during that period that led the Secret Service
to expand to enforce the laws whether it includes protecting money, protecting the President, or
investigating on the frauds and groups that are dangerous to the people of America. Driving forces
and trends impacted Secret Service mission and support operations over the many years. The
Secret Service was officially created by President Abraham Lincolnon July 5, 1865. The Secret

In addition to conventional threats, chemical, biological and radiological weapons of mass
destruction have far greater lethality and scope and pose a greater risk than they have in the past.
The kkk terrorist attacks demonstrate the extremism and the uncivilized society of terrorist
techniques and challenge the traditional approach to security. The Secret Service is challenged to
identify and neutralize potential threats by individuals and groups in this increasingly
sophisticated, mobile, and violence prone environment. The amendment of the Secret Services
was not drastically changed, it happened over a long period of time. Eventually after thirty six
years, when President William Mckinley was assassinated the congress finally added the
protection of the president on the Secret Services list of tasks. President James A. Garfield was
also assassinated 16 years after Lincoln and Congress didn t act until President McKinley died.
Since 1901 every President from Theodore Roosevelt on has been protected by the Secret Service.
The Secret Services kept on improving in the following years. Even before the two assassinations
of Mckinley and Garfield congress did make changes in 1877. Congress passed an act to prohibit
the counterfeiting of any coin, gold, or silver bar. Eighteen Years after the Secret Services had been
established, the Secret Services was officially

Architectural professional practice is a relatively regional field in which architects conduct their
comprehensive manner in a specific localized territory. Due to the current fact that more and more
American architects practice in China, it is not an easy time for them to interact or communicate
with remote brains on the other side of earth. The different cultural and social backgrounds have
become the source of misunderstanding and problems in the process of cooperation, which may
lead to unfavorable consequences. As a Chinese architectural student who has studied in America
and worked in local projects for the U.S. architectural firm, I have experienced many differences
between the two sides. My instructor and professor in the Graduate School of Architecture,
University of Southern California, who has practical experience in China, once told me, It was

Motion Down an Incline Essay
Lab 1, problem 3: Motion Down an Incline

Abstract
The processes of a cart rolling up and returning back along a track were recorded, and the processes
(motion of the cart.) were described as equations. Also, we calculated the accelerations of every
stage (aup, adown and ahighest). Then the relationship among aup, adown and ahighest was
concluded. Finally, the acceleration was measured and was proved from data.
Introduction
If there is a car launched from the bottom of an incline and it goes up until reaching the highest
point, then it reverses its direction. To ensure the safety under this circumstance, the accelerations
of every stage need to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the net force of the block was mg*sinОё and pointed down along the track.
The free body diagram is as following:
Since no friction acted on cart, aup=adown=ahighest= g*sinОё.
Procedure:
The thickness of two blocks together (H) was measured, and the length of the track (L) was
recorded. Then the two wood blocks were put on the desk, and one end of the track was set on
the blocks to make the incline. Meanwhile, the angle between the track and the desk, Оё, was
calculated (technically, sinОё was measured according to sinОё=H/L). Next, we marked 30cm
on the one side of the track by using tapes, which was applied to determine the distance in the
Motion Lab VideoRECOREDER. After that, the distance and height of the camera was adjusted
to a proper position to make sure record the motion well. According to the video effect from
computer, the best position for observation was about 40cm height above the desk, and 80cm
away from the track. Then we put the cart with the compressed spring on the lower end of the
track. After that, we fixed the track in case that the track would move or vibrate when the cart
started. Then the spring of the cart was released and the time was recorded simultaneously. After
the cart returned back, before it collided the end of the track, we then stopped it and finished
recording. Next, the data

Importance Of Physical Exercise
Everyone needs physical exercise and should be allowed to participate in the activities they want
to. Despite physical limitations, age, skill, gender, etc., everyone should have the chance to be
included in their pick of physical activities. Just because people may be different in these things
doesn t mean they should be left out. Sometimes people with disabilities are left out of some sport
and other physical activities because of their limitations. This is wrong because everyone needs
exercise, wants to have fun, and it can unite people. These people needphysical exercisejust like
everyone else and sometimes even more so their muscles don t atrophy. These activities can are
also fun and everyone wants to be a part of that fun and have a good time. There are now sports
and other physical activities that have been adapted so that people with disabilities can also enjoy
them. For example, wheelchairbasketball was made for people in wheelchairs to enjoy basketball
also. This sport is cool because even people who are not usually in wheelchairs can still be in one
just for the game and play the game with people who really need a wheelchair. In fact, sometimes
people who don t need a wheelchair will join teams in wheelchair basketball and it unites the
players even though they have differences in physical abilities. Able bodied players become part
of a team, a community, with the disabled players. It s a prime example of reverse integration

The factors that affect investments are based on the priorities of the stakeholders and decision
makers, which are either based on long term growth or short term profit. In most cases firms tend
to invest over long term (Adler R.W. 2000). There are many formal methods that are used in
Investment appraisal and many of which are criticized as being traditional;
Payback,
Accounting rate of return (ARR),
Net present value (NPV),
Internal rate of return (IRR),
Modified internal rate of return,
Multi attribute decision model (MADM),
Computer integrated manufacturing (CIM). Within investment appraisal there are traditional
methods that have been used for years while there are other methods that have been modified to
account for factors that are not considered in the traditional methods (discussed more below). An
example of this would be for a traditional method such as payback it is not enough to just use it
alone as a decider for an investment, other methods must be looked at too (Adler R.W. 2000).
Traditional Investment Appraisal Techniques Modified Payback period is considered to be the
easiest method of investment appraisal basically because it judges an investment based on time
taken to get back the initial investment. Almost 9 out of ten firms use Payback (F.M. Wilkes, J.M.
Samuels, S.M. Greenfield, 1996). Projects with shorter payback period are seen as more attractive

Fort Worth Opera Research Paper
Opera is a timeless music that transcends the generations. I would like to go out on a limb, and
suggest that the average young person does not really give much thought to opera. However, it is a
music that will last much longer than the popular tunes that they listen to on their music player
today. The great thing about going to the operais the opportunity to experience classical musicat its
best. Actually, there is something very soothing and seductive about pure classical music set to a
stage filled with actors acting out the human condition in some form. One of the perks concerning
living in the Fort Worth area is the number of wonderful opera performances that are available to
the general public.

regarding the risk factors and warning signs of stroke. Thus, it is important to be well understood
about stroke, the risk factors and the warning signs. Furthermore, this review will discuss in details
about the two risk factors, stress and obesity that are significant among the studied population. This
is followed by the review on the state of stroke knowledge and its importance from the previous
studies among varied populations.

factors are hypertension, diabetes mellitus, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, dyslipidemia,
cigarette smoking, obesity, valvular heart disease, alcohol abuse, and physical inactivity (Basharat

Annotated In The Sage Of Theare
In The Sage of Theare , a child, Thasper is born, and is prophesized to be the Sage of
Dissolution, a title that is much unwanted in the world because it brings disorder. Thasper is
transferred to a different world to grow up in but once he hears of stories about the Sage of
Dissolution, he travels to learn more about this mysterious character. Although The Sage of Theare
takes place in a fictional world, Diana Wynne Jonescreates a world of order by using diction, as
well as personal experiences to bring light to how current society mimics the social context of the
story.
The world on Earth is constructed very differently from the world of Theare but the people that
reside in both worlds have the same tendencies to want order. On Earth, ... Show more content on

In an interview that she had, she said, The Sage of Theare started because I remembered, or
thought I remembered, a story by Borges being read on the radio, in which a scholar arduously
tracked down a learned man but never quite found him. I started having dreams about it strange
circular dreams in a strange city where gods took a hand and the dream person never found the
wise man he was looking for. In order to exorcise the dreams, I wrote the story. Here, the rhetor s
original purpose of writing this story was to get rid of her strange dreams. However, this adds
on to the idea that people are uncomfortable with disorder because her strange dreams deviate
from the norm and she wants it to disappear. This is similar to the story because the gods that
live in Theare hate disorder. Also, because the rhetor wrote this in the time that she did, many
events that occurred during the 1980s in Britain might have influenced the way she wrote this
story and why she wrote it. As mentioned previously, Britain experienced political unrest during
this time. There were many riots sparked by racial tensions, local problems, and poor relations
between predominantly black communities and the police. There was also conflict in prisons as
prisoners started a hunger strike to protest the right to be treated as political prisoners, resulting in
61 deaths. Not only that, economic recession in Britain during this time resulted in high
unemployment rates of up to three million unemployed citizens. Because Diana Wynne Jones
wrote The Sage of Theare during this time, the story reflects some aspects of these events. For
example, the world of Theare is crafted to be a utopian society, a world of order where there is no
chaos. The rhetor might have chosen to depict Theare in this way as a distraction from what is
actually going on in the real world. In this fantasy world, everything

Othello is a tragic play by Shakespeare, set in Venice during the Elizabethan time. It portrays the
growth of unjustified jealousy in the noble protagonist, Othello, a Moor serving as a general in the
Venetian army. The innocent object of his jealousy is his wife, Desdemona. In this domestic
tragedy, Othello s evil lieutenant Iago draws him into mistaken jealousy in order to ruin him.

The main action that occurs at the beginning of this scene is the meeting between the Duke and the
senators of Venice, in the council chambers. Council meetings are usually held during the day; but
the fact that it is night time now, makes the audience think that the topic of this meeting is so
important that the council members cannot wait till it is morning to discuss it. This strategy used
by Shakespeare motivates the audience to focus on the scene.
The purpose of this meeting is to decide the future of one of the Venetian colonies, Cyprus.
Cyprus is a trading island, where merchants from all over the world come to trade and therefore
Cyprus has become the target of the Turkish fleet to conquer, as Turkey has an interest in Cyprus s
wealth in this meeting. It is to be decided what the Venetian s will do to protect their colony from
the imminent attack of the Turkish fleet. The Turks are non Christians and therefore considered to
be malevolent during the era, and anybody who s not white and a Christian, were always associated
with evil. Shakespeare subtly introduces the theme of racial discrimination on the grounds of
religiously.

Employers and employees have the legal duty to ensure that the working environment is a safe and

Employer responsibilities are: to ensure, so far as it is reasonable practicable, that the working
environment is a secure and healthy one for all employees and for other persons that may come in
contact assuring that all the information is drawn to everybody s attention.
On the other hand the Employee s responsibilities are: When doing their job, take care not to harm

2. Explain the purpose of following health, safety and security procedures in a business

Having specific procedures regarding health, safety and security and follow them is a very
important aspect in a business environment.
One reason for following the health, safety and security procedures is the legal aspect. Both the
employers and employee must comply with the law and rules: the organisation must take specific
actions (prepare documentation on the procedures and choosing personnel to be responsible for this
aspect), the staff and other persons must respect the procedures.
Another reason is the moral one: the purpose of following the procedures is to make sure no one
comes to any harm. This aspect refers to both of the parties (the

Heteromeric GPPSs are formed by the combination of two sub units, the small subunit
(GPPS.SSU) which is catalytically inactive while another is large subunit (GPPS.LSU). The
catalytic activity of GPPS.LSU varies within plant species. The small subunit (GPPS.SSU)
interacts with GPPS.LSU to form the heteromeric enzyme, which catalyzes the synthesis of GPP
(Tholl et al., 2004; Wang and Dixon, 2009). Moreover, GPPS.SSU also interacts with GGPPSs
from distant plant species (Wang and Dixon, 2009). The physical interaction between two
subunits is critical for the formation of GPP, which was investigated in peppermint GPPS as
heterotetrameric structure (Chang et al., 2010). Moreover, A. thaliana and many other seed
plants were having domains closely related to the SSU of the heteromeric GPPS and it got
annotated as SSUII (Wang and Dixon, 2009). The GPPS.SSU performs a key role in formation
of GPP for monoterpenes by modifying the product specificity of LSU/GGPPS. The
characterized GPPS LSUs and homomeric GGPPSs from different plants showed highly
similarity among each other ( 65%) and produced various products as far as the enzymatic
activity is concerned. For instance, LSU from M. piperita was the only member reported to be
catalytically inactive, while all other LSU reported from different plants were catalytically
active, like LSU from A. majus was active as GGPPS and LSU from H. lupulus required GGPP in
addition to GPP and FPP (Burke et al., 1999; Tholl et al., 2004; Wang and Dixon, 2009). In
comparison to LSUs, SSUs were catalytically inactive and showed much lower sequence identity
(20 30%) with plant GGPPSs and homomeric GPPSs (Burke et al., 1999;

Satire In Voltaire s Candide
Voltaire wrote Candide in 1759. When reading Candide, you will notice that it has a satirical tone.
It is a satirical piece because of its syntax, irony, paradox, and diction. In this particular quote from
Voltaire s Candide, we see the old woman s point of view. Throughout the book, we see the
character Candideand his loved ones enjoying wealth and possessions. The chosen quote implies
one having money, friends, and security but still not being emotionally secure in life. This passage
shows that, as people, we not only struggle with humanity, racism, discrimination and oppression,
but we also suffer from our inner demons. These negative thoughts can affect the relationships we
are in, and even worse it can interfere with our peace of mind.
When they were not arguing, the boredom was so fierce that one day the old woman ventured to
say: I should like to know which is worse, being raped a hundred times by negro pirates, having a
buttock cut off, running the gauntlet in the Bulgar army, being flogged and hanged in an auto da
fГ©, being dissected and rowing in the galleys experiencing, in a word, all the miseries through
which we have passed or else just sitting here and doing nothing (411)? These words clearly show
wit and satire. In this passage, the reader experiences shock that the author would compare having a

foolish, but this decision can be from the author s past experiences. Would the pester of boredom
have been as torturous in Eldorado as it was in Constantinople? No, but the characters were too
greedy and would rather be rich than happy, which is a message the author was trying to convey

Pennies Should Be Eliminated Essay
Find a penny, pick it up, all day long you ll have good luck. This commonly used saying is being
valued less and less as the days progress. On a daily basis, thousands of people walk down the
streets of busy cities. Today the majority of people state that when they pass by a penny on the
ground, they don t stop to pick it up. Due to this and many other reasons pennyproduction should
cease. In society, other countries have chosen to withdraw their coins, pennies lack circulation, and
they are costly to produce, leading us, as a nation, to lean towards the decision of stopping their
production.
Each day, around the world, countries and governments choose to make changes daily, leading
citizens to believe that the use of the penny could easily be abolished. Back in the 1800 s, America
partook in the use of a half cent. In 1857, the government decided that it was too much of a

Pluralism In The Muslim Community
Pluralism by definition is a state of society that promotes inclusion and tolerance that allows a group

It s easy to politically marginalize a group of people who make up a small fraction of the total U.S

The U.S in term of an industrialized powerhouse is a the top which contributes to its political

Disadvantages Of Free Trade
First, free trade is the economic policy of not discriminating against imports from and exports to
foreign jurisdictions. Sellers and Buyers from separate economies may deliberately trade without
the domestic government applying quotas, tariffs, prohibitions, or subsidies on their goods and
services. With emphasis, free tradeis the opposite of economic isolationism or trade protectionism.
Not to mention, governments with free trade agreements (FTAs) do not necessarily disregard all
control of taxation of exports and imports. In modern international trade, hardly any so called FTAs
fit the textbook definition of free trade (Investopedia, 2017).
Correspondingly, International trade is the foundation upon which American prosperity rests. Free
trade policies have built a level of competition in today s open market that engen ders continual
modernization and leads to better paying jobs, better products, new markets, and increased savings
and investment. Also, free trade allows more goods and services to reach American consumers at
lower prices, thereby considerably increasing their standard of living. Likewise, the benefits of
free trade continue well beyond American households. Not to men tion, free trade helps spread the
value of freedom, foster economic development in poor coun tries, and reinforce the rule of law.
The national debate over trade related issues too often dis regards these important benefits (Froning,

Essay on Olivers Market
1.What competitive pressures must Oliver s Market be prepared to deal with? What do we learn
about the nature and strength of the competitive pressures Oliver s faces from doing five forces
analysis of competition? Which of the five competitive forces is the strongest? The competitive
pressures that Oliver s Market must be prepared to deal with are the pressure associated with the
market maneuvering and jockeying for buyer patronage that goes on among rival sellers in the
industry and the pressure associated with the threat of new entrants into the market. They must be

Why or why not? Is there a potential for a company like Oliver s Market to realize above average
profits and return on investment doing business in Sonoma County? Yes, the Sonoma County
area is attractive because the area is a growing population with at least 10,000 households
making over $75,000 per year. The Novato location is good, because half the population would
have to pass the location to get it its competitors. Oliver s Market can realize above average
profits in Sonoma County because of their pricing strategy which has lower ever day prices and
their promotion with weekly discount prices to senior citizens. Oliver Market also offers 10%
price reduction weekly provided by the vendor which is passed on to the customer. Oliver s

Persuasive Essay On Stay In Control

Don t Let Smoking Control Your Life In today s growing society, smoking is still a major problem
among many humans. A lot of teens and young adults are revealed to the effects of smoking
through the exposure of secondhand smoke. The presence of secondhand smoke can be
encountered through family members, friends, and even people in the surrounding area. Since
smoking is so accessible, anyone is able to obtain a cigarette. The result of smoking, however,
presents undesirable outcomes. As an example, cancer, lung disease, a change in lifestyle and
personality, or impacted decisions. Similarly, the advertisement campaign Stay In Control by The
Real Cost introduces us to Amanda Green a teenage girl who finally has the independence to
define who she is. However, before she can, Amanda gives up part of her freedom to smoking.
The losses of freedom to smoking includes everything from her life, her money, her boundaries, etc.
Through the use of vivid imagery, voiceover, and sad emotions, the ad Stay In Control effectively
conveys a message about the harmful effects of smoking to its intended audience: teens and young
adults. During the youth ages 12 17, the use of tobacco is consistently established and started.
Adolescents who are open to cigarettes attempt to try it and many who try a cigarette move to
addictive, regular use. Likewise, the powerful imagery presented in this ad gives the audience a
sense of relation

Malcolm Gladwell s The Science Of Shopping, By Malcolm...
In a world perceived under constant surveillance much like the dystopian setting of George
Orwell s 1984 novel, it is expected to view the practices that Malcolm Gladwell introduced in his
article, The Science of Shopping, as frightening. However, the main intentions of these remarkable
tactics are greatly misunderstood and Gladwell does an excellent job of clearing up many
misconceptions around this topic. For instance, he introduces Paco Underhill, a self proclaimed
urban geographer who is a professional in the field of retail planning and posses a lengthy list of
credentials. He also identifies and illustrates the concepts of decompression zone, invariant right,
petting, butt brush theory in his article and breaks down their purposes because there is a precise
science in how the average consumer shops and specialists have decoded these behaviors.
Unfortunately, a large portion of the population is petrified of Underhill s capabilities and these
psychological techniques that markets use to lure potential consumers. Although this is a typical
reaction considering the state of society as of today, Gladwell correctly clarifies these
misinterpretations all throughout his article. Furthermore, all of these maneuvers that he mentioned
serve as hooks to attract customers are essential to the retailingindustry and Paco Underhill tests
them out by inspecting shoppers via surveillance cameras. His research is based on the
psychological patterns of the average customer and his

Bangsamoro and the Moro Problem
Bangsa moro is a fusion of the word bangsa, meaning nation or people in Malay, and moro or

referring to the 13 ethnolinguistic Muslim tribes in the Philippines which comprise a quarter of the
total population in Mindanao with an approximate population of 4.5 million Muslims (East, 1005).
Their ways of life may differ from each other as well as the dialects they speak but it is their

Territory is an element of the state that is rarely given. As seen from the lessons of history, a

A Human Is Not A Creature That Can Be Good Or Bad Essay
United in Tragedy
Shakespeare s idea of a human is not a creature that can be good or bad, but one that can act toward
either end, or a mixture of both, depending on ambition. It is not always the ambition of his
characters, however, which initially turns them to the dark, or indeed to any path.
[B]ut be not afraid of greatness: some
Are born great, some achieve greatness, and some
Have greatness thrust upon em. (Twelfth Night 2.5.)
Goodness is often readily apparent in a character s actions. Evil manifests itself in deceit, often
taking the form of its opposite. It is therefore evil which must be more carefully scrutinized in the
world s players, to see how it has tainted those who walk with shrouded steps.
Angels are bright still, though the brightest fell;
Though all things foul would wear the brows of grace,
Yet grace must still look so. (Macbeth 4.3.)
The kindest face can mask a spirit wholly vile and the purest soul can be turned toward a comedy
of perfidious guile, until the light has gone out of it completely.
Therefore we turn to the situation of Macbeth, whose destiny is presented to him with malevolent
candor. In the play we see the portrait of a man who, wanting what is not right to occur, is pushed
to realize his dreams through his own ungodly actions. Lady Macbeth phrases best how his desires
clash with the rest of his complexion:
[...]Yet do I fear thy nature;
It is too full o th milk of human kindness
To catch the nearest way: thou wouldst be

Comparing Luhrmann s Romeo And Juliet
First of all, where does carnivalesque come from? This concept was coined by Mikhail Bakhtin
who said it embodied life taking from of a typical carnival. The way things are obscured, or not
how they typically would be, essentially life turned inside out is the idea of carnivalism. Without
carnival, life remains as usual and therefore it is impossible to point out the obscure nature of what
is natural life (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque 304). Luhrmann had used many carnivalelements to
represent Romeo and Juliet in his film version, offering a counterproposition where, in the
inebriation of festivity, societal roles are inverted and where masks and disguises, as the words
indicate, hide identities, including sexual identities, rather than exposing them (Johae, Bakhtinian
Carnivalesque 307). By using this, Luhrmann created a new perspective on the love of Romeo and
Juliet, calling into question the validity of their love, or even the carnival brought about through
their meeting. Carnivalism is effective for Romeo and Juliet because it allows for further analysis
to take place of meaning and emotion in situations, [provoking] an active response, leading us to
make certain connections perhaps hitherto unexplored... creating a highly energetic, primarily...

What this means is that individuals are changed from what is typical of them as is expected by
society (Hennelly, 103) which happens repeatedly at the party scene in the film. Juliet s angel
appearance at the party shows contrast to her daily life, where she is unable to enjoy any such
freedom... Similarly, Romeo, who up to this point shows himself as a sort of delinquent by taking
drugs, as well as taking part in the jokes and behaviors associated with the Montagues, is given the
opportunity to take on an ideal role as a courtly knight (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque

Essay on Debate on the Legality of Human Cloning
Debate on the Legality of Human Cloning
Today, the topic of cloning creates more argument than it has ever created before. The argument
over cloning is based upon the fact that there are extreme opposing viewpoints on the subject. One
of the major arguments offered against human cloning is that it will undermine human
individuality. However, despite the popular opposition to human cloning, it is likely to remain an
issue.
Cloning is reproduction involving only one parent. Cloning occurs when a single cell from the
parent organism begins to divide and develop in such a way that a new organism is produced. This
new organism has exactly the same genetic make up as its parent and is usually ... Show more

However, human cloning will undermine human individuality. One of the key features of each
human being is that they represent a combination of genotype and interaction with the environment,
which is unique. Uniqueness is a major factor of our humanity. It is claimed that even `identical
twins , are not completely genetically similar. It has been suggested that undermining the
individuality or uniqueness of each human being may undermine respect for human life. This is
because human cloning could lead society to regard all people as being replaceable or
interchangeable.
It has also been argued that cloning would offer medical advantages, especially in situations where
transplants are required. People may have headless replicas of them cloned to supply them with
transplant organs to overcome the problems created by age and disease. It has been argued that
cloning human beings for the purpose of creating transplant tissue such as bone marrow or a kidney
demeans the person cloned for this purpose.
It took 277 attempts to produce the clone, Dolly the Sheep. Foetuses produced by cloning are ten
times more likely to die in the uterus than those produced through sexual means. Cloned offsprings
are three times more likely to die after birth than those produced by usual means. It these figures are

Teaching English As A Second Or Foreign Language
In addition to teaching students through a variety of methods, teachers should also provide
students with the tools necessary for them to be autonomous learners. According to Celce Murcia
s Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language, one of the greatest challenges facing both
educators and learners is building ELL s academic vocabularies (Celce Murcia et al., 2013, p.
164). According to Larson (2013), active engagement encourages students to know definitions of
words, make connections between and among words and concepts, and acquire strategies to
become autonomous (Larson, 2013, p. 17). In order to do so, wordwalls are one type of strategy
Larson proposed. Word walls allow students a visual aid. Students can place words according to
three tiers: basic, general academic words, and content specific words. For example, dirt is a
basic word, soil is a general academic word, and sediment is a content specific word. Words could
also be organized alphabetically, by theme, or by unit. Another strategy Larson encourages is
matching activities (Larson et al, 2013). This allows students to focus on the morphology of
words. For example, if students are given a word and have to locate their peers with the same Latin
root or prefix, they learn how to determine meanings based on parts of a word. If one student had
the word, unknown, and another student had the word, unlucky, they would be morphological
partners because both words contain the prefix, un.

Embryonic Stem Cell Research

diseases ranging from heart disease to Parkinson s disease to leukemia (Thomson Yu, 2006). As
stated by Junying Yu and James A. Thomson, it is true that embryonic stem cells are very
adaptable and hold many mysteries in medical science, but why are they so heavily debated upon?
Embryonic stem cells, or pluripotent cells, are cells derived from embryos that have the potential

Unlike some patients and physicians, embryonic stem cell researchers are in complete agreement of
using embryos in research or treatments. These researchers see the promise in creating an abundant
supply of any type of cell, as well as understanding the development of diseases or disorders in early
life. According to the article Stem Cells by Insoo Hyun, the most important thing to consider about
using embryos is that they increase our understanding of how people grow early on in life, and the
stem cells that come from them unveil misconceptions behind different malformations in the body
(2018). Junying Yu and James A. Thomson express in their article Embryonic Stem Cells how
researchers view this resource, stating that, Human embryonic stem (ES) cells capture the
imagination because they are immortal and have an almost unlimited developmental potential (Fig.
1.1: How hESCs are derived). After many months of growth in culture dishes, these remarkable
cells maintain the ability to form cells ranging from muscle to nerve to blood potentially any cell
type that makes up the body (2016). Despite the great controversy that surrounds embryonic stem
cell research, researchers are still hard at work to support and progress this vastly growing study
to help improve the lives of people everywhere. Supporting and advancing this research is the best
course of action, considering it would benefit the most amount of people. There should not be any
exceptions to its use, but religious individuals or physicians may believe in placing restrictions

Mighty Amun-Ra God
We are now introduced to Ra, the ancient Egyptian solar deity, whom, identified for the most part
with the midday sun, had become a major god in Egyptian religion and represented (like the
earliest sun god) warmth, growth and light. The deity was of most importance, being seen as
creator and ruler of all with the body (or eye of Ra) typically represented as a sundisk. Ra is
credited with having created the plants, animals, months and seasons. With the belief that every
night he would visit the dark world of death, only to survive the ordeal and rise in the morning
with all of his creations, it only solidified his power and status. Around the second dynasty, his cult
grew large enough to establish deitystatus. and by the fourth and fifth dynasties, pharaohs were

Political Party Vs. Politics
Political party or anything in connection with politics is a common topic of every group of
Indian who are sitting together at any place. It is always a debatable topic. Most of Indians are
very much interested in politics. We look at formation of many parties; we find that their
establishment are mainly due to ideological differences that result in split in parent party and at the
end leads to formation of a new political partywith a new agenda.
In multi party system like India, the parties can be classified into three types i.e.; National parties,
Regional parties and State parties. The status of the party is granted by Election Commission of
India and after that it is reviewed occasionally. All the parties whether national, Regional or State
party, they are registered with Election Commission. A unique election symbol is given by the
Election Commission to every registered party
Currently there are 7 National parties and 56 State parties. The total number of registered
unrecognised parties in India is 1786. There are mainly nine regional parties out of 657 Regional
parties. There are 12 other upcoming parties.
The Election Commission mandates certain rules regarding starting a new political party in India
like;
1.Every new party to have at least 100 members.[There are no set rules on how or who to recruit, it
s up to the party]
2.Each member is required to hold an Indian voter ID card.
3.Individuals must be 18 years old [major].

Analysis Of White And The New Yorker
Furthermore, In Warshow s review of E.B White and the New Yorker, experience again is at the
forefront of his critique, along with a bit of his ever present political views. He makes a very
important point at the begging of this review, The New Yorker has always dealt with experience
not by trying to understand it but by prescribing the attitude to be adopted toward it. (warshow
2001, 75) This becomes an interesting argument, even today, as we think about what trends we have
seen in popularculture. Do we ever ask ourselves if this is something that has been prescribed to
us, instead of by us? Journalism, especially from writers of a certain stature, can often dictate
where the culture shifts. If we are able to look at the writing with an objective eye then we are
simply learning about another facet of the experience. All to often, though, it is hard for us to be
objective. This could be why we, as Americans, have popular cultureat all. A journalist tells us what
is cool, and we subscribe to that idea as an entire culture. There are always outliers, but when
talking about popular culture most Americans are in it for the collective effervesces. I think this
point would be highly debated by Warshow. As he says at the end of this review, unable to keep
his political feelings at bay, The purpose of this writing is not to say anything about democracy
...but only to arouse certain familiar responses in the liberal middle class reader. (warshow

affairs, tariff legislation, race relations, trust regulation, and foreign affairs. He had a good life and
served as an amazing president during his time in the Whitehouse until his assassination.
McKinley was born on January 29, 1843 in Niles, Ohio. He was the seventh child to his father,
William McKinley and his mother, Nancy Campbell Allison McKinley. As a boy, McKinley
attended a one room schoolhouse in his hometown until the age of nine. At that time McKinley
and his family moved to Poland, Ohio (which was nearby) so that the children could attend a
private school. At age 16 he attended Allegheny Collage in Meadville, Pennsylvania where he
studied for one term before he had to leave due to sickness and some financial issues he was
facing. After recovering he enlisted as a private in the Civil War. McKinley joined the 23rd Ohio
Volunteer Infantry at age 18 and was promoted to commissary sergeant at 19. He later became a
Second Lieutenant because of his acts of bravery on the battlefield. This would only be the start to
his success.
McKinley won a seat in Congress in the House of Representatives in 1876 when he was 34 years
old. He began wearing a red carnation after he noticed his opponent, Levi Lamborn, was wearing
one during a debate. This became a trademark of McKinley s while

The Importance Of Diets In Human Development
The genome, much like the environment, can be influenced by pressures from external and internal
sources. The genome and its framework enables species to adapt to the world around them and
increase an individual fitness. An article titled Evolutionary Adaptions to Dietary Changes
discussed the topic of diets influence on evolutionary adaption (1). In the article, they stated that
dietary shifts in hominin evolution have played a part in the overall development of modern
humans. With such defining characteristics such as bipedalism, increased brain size, reduced gut
size, and shifts in tooth enamel density and size have all signaled evolutionary adaption to the
environment. Since diet is important to proper development of an organism, it is greatly important
to understand the diet of our closes relative s species. The closest human relatives are chimpanzees
which hunt small primates or other small mammals as a minor component of their diet. This means
that the remainder of their diet would be plant based. In great contrast, it should be noted that
modern humans heavily rely on meat as well as plants for nutrients. As stated in Luca, et al. Beyond
the high caloric gains from the consumption of animal source foods, meat also provides proteins,
iron, zinc, vitamins, and other critical dietary components (1). These essential nutrients allowed for
greater expansion and development of key human characteristics. Food availability and dietary
selection have in large part created

The Sun Also Rises Robert Cohn
This paper is concerned with the way that Robert Cohn is portrayed considering his actions,
immaturity, and relationships that lead to and anti exemplary behavior in The Sun Also Rises by
Ernest Hemingway. Cohn is a character who does not seem to change very much throughout the
novel. The actions that Cohn presents in the beginning of the novelare still presented when it comes
to the near end of the novel. While most of the characters are able to grow and learn the values,
Cohn stays his immature self. Hemingway s portrayal of Cohn is to demonstrate a better way to

Robert Cohn shows up at the same bar as the others and Cohn s mood is very agitated and he
demands to know where Lady Brett Ashley is but, Jake will not tell him. Cohn ends the
conversation by calling Jake a damned pimp (Hemingway 193). Jake becomes furious and takes
a swing at Cohn, but Cohn is able to duck. Cohn deciding to fight with Jake shows Cohn s
actions as a boxer. Stoneback suggests that, To accept as truth Robert s charge suggests that we
should accept Cohn, not Jake, as a judge of conduct (Stoneback 260). This would make it seem
that one must resort to violence if someone does not agree or goes against them. Cohn is not an
example, and Jake is not a pimp (260). In the heat of an argument, Cohn decides to refer to Jake
as a damned pimp. Hemingway started to follow the charge of pimp with a comeback, possibly
to be spoken by Jake: you damned panderer , but he crossed it out (260). If Cohn was called a
panderer, it would suggest that he is a male prostitute or someone who caters to sexual desires and

A Research On The Family And A Good Support System
1. Research on the Problem
Given the topic of stepfamilies, we found a lot of information supporting stepfamilies, but really no
solution. There is not a specific solution but there are ways that families can strengthen their newly
formed stepfamily. From this course, we developed a getaway camp for stepfamilies and blended
families. Previous research says that good communication between the family and a good support
system are keys to success in a step family, this was a proven successful way. Our camp will
provide these things in the friends the family and the kids make at the camp. Our paper will touch
on the missions, goals, objectives, action plan, resource plan, allies and opponents.
We learned the family systems and how interdependence plays a role within a family. A family
needs to develop interdependence enable to rely on each other, just as a stepfamily needs to do the
same. We also learned that the definition of a family can include more than one family at a time.
Many families around the world are involved in stepfamilies. It is likely that you are part of a
stepfamily or know someone who is apart of a stepfamily, ...at one point or another more than half
of children will spend time in a mixed or blended step family ( Harcourt,K.T., Adler
Baeder,F.,Erath,S., Pettit,G.S. 2015). We also found statistics that state, 1300 new stepfamilies are
forming every day. And Over 50% of US families are remarried or re coupled. The research that we
found said that the

The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn By William Twain
Samuel J. Tibbs S.Tibbs (1)

ENG4U
May, 2015
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, considered to be one of America s greatest works of literature
to this date, highlights Huck s relationships with primary and secondary characters that he meets
whilst journeying down the mississippi river. Through Huck s development of these relationships,
his development as an individual is quite evident as novel progresses. So why is it that
relationships are such a great influence to Huck? How have these relationships developed his
character?
To begin, we would have to look at Huck as an individual and how we are introduced to him as
the novel begins. Huckleberry Finn is the protagonist and narrator of Huckleberry Finn. Huck,
born and raised in St. Petersburg, Missouri is around the age of thirteen and the son of the town
drunk. Huck s personality can be defined by his hunger for self development, as he strives to
educate himself unlike his friends. This aspiration of education for a boy like Huck is not normal
to the society he lives in. However,

Using A Virtual Private Network ( Vpn )
Section 1.0
The world is constantly changing especially in technology. Each day new software and hardware
is created to accomplish tasks that were not possible before. These new software s and hardware s
offers new problems to come with these new accomplishments. Businesses are constantly looking
for ways to make their employees more efficient. Allowing employees to communicate not just in
the office, but remotely is being a requirement at this day and time.
This company could make use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that routes through the firewall.
The VPN would allow easy access to the company network for authorized employees. A VPN
would allow the company to have employees that telecommute, work from home, or remote
employees. It would allow our employees that travel frequently like salesmen to connect from
anywhere they may be. The VPN would allow for a more flexible work day, and help work get
done when it needs to be done instead of during normal business hours. The VPN will run through
the company firewall to help limit the traffic through to legitimate business traffic.
The company must first be aware and understand the risks of a VPN and firewall. This
knowledge will help the company make the right decision for this technology. A VPN and firewall
solution is different for every network, and must be customized to this company s network. There
is also risks to not using these tools. It is important for the company to see this risks as well, so

Expansionary Monetary Policy Expansionary fiscal policy, such as the Chancellor of the
Exchequer deciding to reduce the standard rate of income tax leads to higher aggregate demand and
an increase in equilibrium income and output. In this essay I will examine the factors that are
important in determining the macroeconomic effects should such a policy be installed by Gordon
Brown (Chancellor of the Exchequer), and I will comment on any suggestions I may have for
Gordon Brown in the preparation of his next budget with a brief description on the assumptions that
my advice is based.

from DL to DL1 which leads to increase in employment as a result of the wage rate increasing
from 1 to 2. However, due to the natural rate of unemployment the supply of labour shown as SL,
shifts to the right to SL1 where the wage rate is represented as 3 and employment returns to the
natural rate.
IS LM Model
This example of short run and long run aggregate supply and demand brings us straight into IS
LM Model. The IS LM Model shows the combinations of both income and interest rates and shows
how equilibrium is reached in both the goods and money markets. This model involves two
schedules/curves, the IS curve and LM curve. The IS schedule shows the different combinations of
income and interest rates at which the goods market is in equilibrium and the LM schedule
displays the combinations of interest rates and income compatible with equilibrium in the money

With the exception of a fall in interest rates, any factor that shifts the aggregate demand curve

the different prairies have distinct climates, the Tall Grass Prairies are known to be the wettest
prairies, the Short Grass Prairie is also wet, but not as wet as Tall Grass. The Mixed Prairies are
more dry since they are in more sunlight than the others. The prairies all have various climate

High schools rely on sports as an attention grabber, and a source of income. Any school
corporation that does not have sports, as it s second priority is a failing school corporation. The
teachercoaches play a very important role in these student s lives. They are the ones who spend the

definitely worth the money. Most high school athletes are looking for one thing, stardom. They

Essay on American Hawaii
American Hawaii
American Hawaii Hawaii is known for its beautiful beaches, it amp;#8217;s nice year round
weather, and its culture. Thousands of vacationers come to Hawaii each year to get away from the
stressful city and relax. But do they know how cruel the Americans were to the natives? Do they
know how we corrupted their culture and their religion? Do they know how Hawaii really became a
state? Probably not. When most people think of Hawaii, they think of happy Hawaiian babes hula
dancing and palm trees swaying in the warm breeze. Hawaii has still held on to many of their
traditions although they were invaded by Americans. But you have to go to a museum to see their
old way of life. Hawaii is now populated mostly by Americans. ... Show more content on

These religious radicals started a domino affect of the Hawaiian religion. The Hawaiians
destroyed and burned their feared idols. The people who still held on the old belifes were
murdered. This goes to show how a religion can either hold a society together or tear it apart.
Henry Obookiah was born in Hawaii. His family was murdered in a war between neighboring
islands. He decided to find a new life in America, so he hopped aboard a trading ship and landed
in New England. Obookiah stayed with a Christian family and went to a foreign mission school.
Obookiah was taught to be a good Christian gentlemen. He told Americans about the religious
chaos in Hawaii saying: quot;Hawaii gods; the wood they burn. Me go home, put em in a fire,
burn amp;#8216;em up. They no see, no hear, no anything. We make amp;#8216;em. Our god, He

amp;#8217;s enlightenment in America. New England Christians were motivated to spread the
faith into Hawaii. The first American settlers were Christian missionaries from New England. The
Missionaries came to the Hawaiian shores aboard the Thaddeus on March 31, 1819. The
Americans were treated very well by the natives. They were eager to learn from the missionaries.
Without the strict supervision of their former gods and superstitions, Hawaiians were celebrating

Public Opinion Polls Have Both Flaws And Encouraging Data
Before I go into answering the questions directly, it should be understood that public opinion
polls have both flaws and encouraging data. Pubic opinion polls if done appropriately will give
the general feel of how the population is feeling towards an issue. It all depends on whether the
sampling is comparative to the population, for example if you have a population of One Hundred
Thousand and you only sample one hundred, the results will not be as accurate if the sampling
size was bigger. Also, the person conducting the interviews of these opinion polls must not be
biased to one side or the other. They must remain centered on the subject and not influence the
answers that are given. Asking specific questions about real issues can result is promising
polling data. Opinion polls should be used to collect data, and must also be used in a way that
reflects accurate data. By not having accurate data that can lead to bad decision making or lead
to mistrust among the community and the police departments. One of the biggest missuses of
opinion polls was in the presidential election in the 1948 were the Chicago Daily Tribune
printed election results on bad opinion polling and looked foolish for doing so. So these polls
should be used with caution and constructed in a way that does not allow for misrepresentation of
the publics true views as it has in the past. Well one of the first things I would tell the director
before looking at the poll would be to not base any decisions

Also, we calculated the accelerations of every stage (aup, adown and ahighest). Then the relationship among aup, adown and ahighest was concluded. Procedure: The thickness of two blocks together (H) was measured, and the length of the track (L) was recorded. Then the two wood blocks were put on the desk, and one end of the track was set on the blocks to make the incline. Meanwhile, the angle between the track and the desk, Оё, was calculated (technically, sinОё was measured according to sinОё=H/L). Next, we marked 30cm on the one side of the track by using tapes, which was applied to determine the distance in the Motion Lab VideoRECOREDER. After that, the distance and height of the camera was adjusted to a proper position to make sure record the motion well. According to the video effect from computer, the best position for observation was about 40cm height above the desk, and 80cm away from the track. Then we put the cart with the compressed spring on the lower end of the track. After that, we fixed the track in case that the track would move or vibrate when the cart started. Then the spring of the cart was released and the time was recorded simultaneously. After the cart returned back, before it collided the end of the track, we then stopped it and finished recording. • 11. Annotated In The Sage Of Theare In The Sage of Theare , a child, Thasper is born, and is prophesized to be the Sage of Dissolution, a title that is much unwanted in the world because it brings disorder. Thasper is transferred to a different world to grow up in but once he hears of stories about the Sage of Dissolution, he travels to learn more about this mysterious character. Although The Sage of Theare takes place in a fictional world, Diana Wynne Jonescreates a world of order by using diction, as well as personal experiences to bring light to how current society mimics the social context of the story. In an interview that she had, she said, The Sage of Theare started because I remembered, or thought I remembered, a story by Borges being read on the radio, in which a scholar arduously tracked down a learned man but never quite found him. I started having dreams about it strange circular dreams in a strange city where gods took a hand and the dream person never found the wise man he was looking for. In order to exorcise the dreams, I wrote the story. Here, the rhetor s original purpose of writing this story was to get rid of her strange dreams. However, this adds on to the idea that people are uncomfortable with disorder because her strange dreams deviate from the norm and she wants it to disappear. This is similar to the story because the gods that live in Theare hate disorder. Also, because the rhetor wrote this in the time that she did, many events that occurred during the 1980s in Britain might have influenced the way she wrote this story and why she wrote it. As mentioned previously, Britain experienced political unrest during this time. There were many riots sparked by racial tensions, local problems, and poor relations between predominantly black communities and the police. There was also conflict in prisons as prisoners started a hunger strike to protest the right to be treated as political prisoners, resulting in 61 deaths. Not only that, economic recession in Britain during this time resulted in high unemployment rates of up to three million unemployed citizens. Because Diana Wynne Jones wrote The Sage of Theare during this time, the story reflects some aspects of these events. For example, the world of Theare is crafted to be a utopian society, a world of order where there is no chaos. The rhetor might have chosen to depict Theare in this way as a distraction from what is actually going on in the real world. In this fantasy world, everything ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Dramatic Impact of Act 1 Scene 3 in Shakespeare s Othello and Its Importance to the Whole Play Othello is a tragic play by Shakespeare, set in Venice during the Elizabethan time. In this domestic tragedy, Othello s evil lieutenant Iago draws him into mistaken jealousy in order to ruin him. Council meetings are usually held during the day; but the fact that it is night time now, makes the audience think that the topic of this meeting is so important that the council members cannot wait till it is morning to discuss it. This strategy used by Shakespeare motivates the audience to focus on the scene. The purpose of this meeting is to decide the future of one of the Venetian colonies, Cyprus. Cyprus is a trading island, where merchants from all over the world come to trade and therefore Cyprus has become the target of the Turkish fleet to conquer, as Turkey has an interest in Cyprus s wealth in this meeting. It is to be decided what the Venetian s will do to protect their colony from the imminent attack of the Turkish fleet. Heteromeric GPPSs are formed by the combination of two sub units, the small subunit (GPPS.SSU) which is catalytically inactive while another is large subunit (GPPS.LSU). The catalytic activity of GPPS.LSU varies within plant species. The small subunit (GPPS.SSU) interacts with GPPS.LSU to form the heteromeric enzyme, which catalyzes the synthesis of GPP (Tholl et al., 2004; Wang and Dixon, 2009). Moreover, GPPS.SSU also interacts with GGPPSs from distant plant species (Wang and Dixon, 2009). The physical interaction between two subunits is critical for the formation of GPP, which was investigated in peppermint GPPS as heterotetrameric structure (Chang et al., 2010). Moreover, A. thaliana and many other seed plants were having domains closely related to the SSU of the heteromeric GPPS and it got annotated as SSUII (Wang and Dixon, 2009). The GPPS.SSU performs a key role in formation of GPP for monoterpenes by modifying the product specificity of LSU/GGPPS. It is a satirical piece because of its syntax, irony, paradox, and diction. In this particular quote from Voltaire s Candide, we see the old woman s point of view. Throughout the book, we see the character Candideand his loved ones enjoying wealth and possessions. The chosen quote implies one having money, friends, and security but still not being emotionally secure in life. This passage shows that, as people, we not only struggle with humanity, racism, discrimination and oppression, but we also suffer from our inner demons. These negative thoughts can affect the relationships we are in, and even worse it can interfere with our peace of mind. When they were not arguing, the boredom was so fierce that one day the old woman ventured to say: I should like to know which is worse, being raped a hundred times by negro pirates, having a buttock cut off, running the gauntlet in the Bulgar army, being flogged and hanged in an auto da fГ©, being dissected and rowing in the galleys experiencing, in a word, all the miseries through which we have passed or else just sitting here and doing nothing (411)? The presence of secondhand smoke can be encountered through family members, friends, and even people in the surrounding area. Since smoking is so accessible, anyone is able to obtain a cigarette. A Human Is Not A Creature That Can Be Good Or Bad Essay United in Tragedy Shakespeare s idea of a human is not a creature that can be good or bad, but one that can act toward either end, or a mixture of both, depending on ambition. It is not always the ambition of his characters, however, which initially turns them to the dark, or indeed to any path. [B]ut be not afraid of greatness: some Are born great, some achieve greatness, and some Have greatness thrust upon em. (Twelfth Night 2.5.) Goodness is often readily apparent in a character s actions. Evil manifests itself in deceit, often taking the form of its opposite. It is therefore evil which must be more carefully scrutinized in the world s players, to see how it has tainted those who walk with shrouded steps. Angels are bright still, though the brightest fell; Though all things foul would wear the brows of grace, Yet grace must still look so. (Macbeth 4.3.) The kindest face can mask a spirit wholly vile and the purest soul can be turned toward a comedy of perfidious guile, until the light has gone out of it completely. Therefore we turn to the situation of Macbeth, whose destiny is presented to him with malevolent candor. Without carnival, life remains as usual and therefore it is impossible to point out the obscure nature of what is natural life (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque 304). Luhrmann had used many carnivalelements to represent Romeo and Juliet in his film version, offering a counterproposition where, in the inebriation of festivity, societal roles are inverted and where masks and disguises, as the words indicate, hide identities, including sexual identities, rather than exposing them (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque 307). By using this, Luhrmann created a new perspective on the love of Romeo and Juliet, calling into question the validity of their love, or even the carnival brought about through their meeting. Carnivalism is effective for Romeo and Juliet because it allows for further analysis to take place of meaning and emotion in situations, [provoking] an active response, leading us to make certain connections perhaps hitherto unexplored... creating a highly energetic, primarily... The argument over cloning is based upon the fact that there are extreme opposing viewpoints on the subject. One of the major arguments offered against human cloning is that it will undermine human individuality. However, despite the popular opposition to human cloning, it is likely to remain an issue. Cloning is reproduction involving only one parent. Cloning occurs when a single cell from the parent organism begins to divide and develop in such a way that a new organism is produced. One of the key features of each human being is that they represent a combination of genotype and interaction with the environment, which is unique. Uniqueness is a major factor of our humanity. It is claimed that even `identical twins , are not completely genetically similar. It has been suggested that undermining the individuality or uniqueness of each human being may undermine respect for human life. This is because human cloning could lead society to regard all people as being replaceable or interchangeable. It has also been argued that cloning would offer medical advantages, especially in situations where transplants are required. People may have headless replicas of them cloned to supply them with transplant organs to overcome the problems created by age and disease. It has been argued that cloning human beings for the purpose of creating transplant tissue such as bone marrow or a kidney demeans the person cloned for this purpose. It took 277 attempts to produce the clone, Dolly the Sheep. Foetuses produced by cloning are ten times more likely to die in the uterus than those produced through sexual means. Teaching English As A Second Or Foreign Language In addition to teaching students through a variety of methods, teachers should also provide students with the tools necessary for them to be autonomous learners. According to Celce Murcia s Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language, one of the greatest challenges facing both educators and learners is building ELL s academic vocabularies (Celce Murcia et al., 2013, p. 164). According to Larson (2013), active engagement encourages students to know definitions of words, make connections between and among words and concepts, and acquire strategies to become autonomous (Larson, 2013, p. 17). In order to do so, wordwalls are one type of strategy Larson proposed. Word walls allow students a visual aid. Students can place words according to three tiers: basic, general academic words, and content specific words. For example, dirt is a basic word, soil is a general academic word, and sediment is a content specific word. Words could also be organized alphabetically, by theme, or by unit. Another strategy Larson encourages is matching activities (Larson et al, 2013). This allows students to focus on the morphology of words. For example, if students are given a word and have to locate their peers with the same Latin root or prefix, they learn how to determine meanings based on parts of a word. If one student had the word, unknown, and another student had the word, unlucky, they would be morphological partners because both words contain the prefix, un. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We look at formation of many parties; we find that their establishment are mainly due to ideological differences that result in split in parent party and at the end leads to formation of a new political partywith a new agenda. In multi party system like India, the parties can be classified into three types i.e.; National parties, Regional parties and State parties. Analysis Of White And The New Yorker Furthermore, In Warshow s review of E.B White and the New Yorker, experience again is at the forefront of his critique, along with a bit of his ever present political views. He makes a very important point at the begging of this review, The New Yorker has always dealt with experience not by trying to understand it but by prescribing the attitude to be adopted toward it. (warshow 2001, 75) This becomes an interesting argument, even today, as we think about what trends we have seen in popularculture. Do we ever ask ourselves if this is something that has been prescribed to us, instead of by us? Journalism, especially from writers of a certain stature, can often dictate where the culture shifts. If we are able to look at the writing with an objective eye then we are simply learning about another facet of the experience. All to often, though, it is hard for us to be objective. This could be why we, as Americans, have popular cultureat all. A journalist tells us what is cool, and we subscribe to that idea as an entire culture. There are always outliers, but when talking about popular culture most Americans are in it for the collective effervesces. I think this point would be highly debated by Warshow. As he says at the end of this review, unable to keep his political feelings at bay, The purpose of this writing is not to say anything about democracy ...but only to arouse certain familiar responses in the liberal middle class reader. In the article, they stated that dietary shifts in hominin evolution have played a part in the overall development of modern humans.
