Abercrombie And Fitch Paper
Advertising can also go wrong in the fashion industry. As noted by Aerens (2005), the Abercrombie
and Fitch fashion brand became the most controversial advertiser when it combined a father and
son relationship in their advertising imagery in the early 1990s. Sadly, this was socially
misinterpreted by the public as a portrayal of homosexuality. There was an era (i.e. in the 1980s)
when advertisers thought that camp (gay, homosexual) images in advertisingwere damaging to male
fashion; in that males could not relate to each other in such a manner and they were threatened by
homosexual imagery something more conservative would have been more successful (Mort,
1996, pp. 72, 73; Elliott and Elliott, 2005, p. 5). The same type of social study of fashion
advertising of feminised males and the reposes of male (i.e. heterosexual) consumers was
undertaken in the late 1990s by Kimmel and Tissier Desbordes (1999) and the conclusion was
similar.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, after the short period (i.e. a decade) of a fall from grace and accusations of promoting
soft core pornography, the Abercrombie and Fitch brand turned this controversy around by toning
down nudity by utilising artistic images of models wearing Abercrombie and Fitch clothing.
Hence, controversy in advertising placed fashion brands in the public eye (for better or for worse;
whether it promotes or harms the brands). But, since that period, advertising has become more well
behaved (Lockwood, Martens and McCarthy,

Amrith s Journey
This is a fitting title for the section I read as it helped readers understand Amrith s life and emotions
by concluding the novel with Amrith having many of his problems solved.
In my opinion, a journey is like a rollercoaster filled with ups and downs that only finishes when it
ends. Just like the novel, Amrith experiences many new things that he became quite fond of, even if
the same happiness became his misery. Nevertheless, this was only temporarily as Amrith is naГЇve
and easily jealous, thankfully over time he learned that staying ignorant does not solve his conflicts
and he must make amends on his own.
Prior to the ending, Amrith corrected his issues with his fake family and blood related family,
comprising of Niresh and his dead mother. Finally, Amrith is even rewarded with a gift, that I will
explain later, which seems realistic as opposed to Amrith and Niresh magically falling in love
during the last chapter.
Quick Summary: The last chapter was almost subtle to the point where it felt like a cliff hanger.
The conclusion made it seem as if Selvadurai plans on publishing a sequel, but that is not the case.
Regardless, the last few chapters revealed background knowledge on the mysterious death of
Amrith s parents. It explained how his mother was forced into giving up Amrith, in attempt to cure
Amrith s father from his alcohol problems. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aiding in the understanding of Amrith and his past, anyways throughout the novel I have always
wondered why a mother such as Amrith s would cease to care for their own children. Now
knowing the cause, it reveals that she was a caring being and only thinking of what would be best
for Amrith. The only issue was that Amrith has always been naГЇve and interpreted the situation as
a vulgar act, though his reasoning can be justified and

Art of the Egyptians and Africans
Art of the Egyptians and Africans
Art of the Egyptians and Africans express .............................In art, style is a characteristic, or a
number of characteristics that we can identify as constant, recurring, or coherent.(Art Terminology
1) Artists express their emotions through their art making, their finished product will reflect that
emotion. They might also create a piece of art that makes the viewer create an emotional response.
Emotion is any strong agitation of the feelings actuated by experiencing love, hate, fear,
etc.(Dictionary 1)
Ancient Egyptian art is five thousand years old. It emerged and took shape in the ancient Egypt, the
civilization of the Nile Valley. Ancient Egyptian art was shown with emotion beautifully in painting
and sculpture, and was both highly symbolic and stylized. The exceptional traditions in Egypt is one
of the most important things in the history of art. The tombs and temples of the Egyptians have
expressed the grandeur of the kingdom of the Nile. Egyptian sculptors and painters began to
formulate patterns to represent figures and stories. Egyptians used the art to represent a
continuation of life after death, it was an important part of their culture. They believed that, in
order for the spirit to live on, the dead person s body had to be preserved, or mummified, and
buried along with supplies of food and drink, tools and utensils, valued possessions. (Scholastic)

Green Winter Through The Kick Starter Website
In efforts to grow the Seedfolk City Farm, Barker initiated Operation Green Winter through the
kick starter website, Indiegogo. This was a community focused urban agriculture project that
helped raise funds to continue operating the greenhouses during the winter. It also enabled them to
provide consistent year round after school employment for four of the young people that helped to
get the project off the ground. This campaign was in addition to several community events held in
efforts to raise money for the green winter . This was as a result of weather implications in
Rochester, NY, which prevented them from growing fresh fruits and vegetables. The pilot
aquaponic farming system would winterize the greenhouse by sustaining a year round farming
operation that enabled them to triple production capabilities with four new vertical grow beds. Not
only did the money raised help physically make these changes possible, but it also provided the
youthwith more after school activities as a result of these expansions.
ProsperRochester has relied on its partnerships to achieve its goals. In order to establish these
greenhouses, ProsperRochester teamed up with In The City/Off The Grid. ICOG is a Rochester
based cooperative business that offers solar installation services and general construction services,
while engaging in community development projects and employee training. Thankfully, ICOG was
able to assist with building and provide solar panels for the greenhouses.

Why White Killer Whales
Scientists are now worried after a group of killer whales appeared in a group in the Northern part
of the Pacific Ocean. This whale belongs to the dolphin family, and is considered the largest in
that family. The whale is also known as orca and has teeth. Most of them feed on diverse diet, but
individual whales have their own prey. There are those who feed on fish, while others hunt for
dolphins and seals. They are known as apex predators because no animal can dare to prey on them.
They are cosmopolitan and can be found on any ocean in the world.
These whales are social and live together in matrilineal groups. They are known because of the
sophisticated hunting skills which is common to their whole group. This article will explain why

corner. They are mostly seen in Washington and British Columbia areas.
Transient This type of white killer whales feed exclusively on marine mammals. Generally, they
travel in groups of six animals and have tight family bonds. Their female counterparts have
triangular dorsal fins that are pointed.
Offshore This is a killer whale that was discovered in the North east pacific region in 1988. They
feed exclusively on the schooling fish.
Scientists have embarked on research to ascertain the inbreeding of this mysterious whale. This
will help to prepare for the invisible threat posed by these whales. This predator has not listed as
one of the endangered ocean species. These predators are dangerous even to human life.

Not all people working for non governmental organizations are volunteers.
Many NGOs are associated with the use of international staff working in developing countries, but
there are many NGOs in both North and South who rely on local employees or volunteers.
Whether the NGOs are small or large, various NGOs need budgets to operate. The amount of
budget that they need would differ from NGOs to NGOs. Unlike small NGOs, large NGOs may
have annual budgets in the hundreds of millions or billions of dollars.. Major sources of NGO
funding are membership dues, the sale of goods and services, grants from international institutions
or national governments, and private donations. Several EU grants provide funds accessible to
NGOs.

Wizard Of Oz Analyse
Conor I thought the Wizard of Oz was a bright and colorful moving. Being a movie that was
transitioning from a black film to color it really emphasized every single color imaginable. All
the colors remind of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Candyland. I like how Emerald city
stayed true to one color to make it unique which was green. It really conveyed to the audience
why it was called Emerald City just of its color scheme alone. I felt bad for the tin man because
all that makeup must of been hard to wear? I loved the color scheme that the wicked Witch of the
West had. The dark green paint on her face and mole really captured the essence of evil. Dorothy
really annoyed me in the movie. Her accent was just awful, and she spoke like a little

Shahmaleki failed to state a Substantive Due Process claim that arises to the level of shocking the

for only the most egregious official conduct. As Circuit Judge David Ebel stated in affirming a
judgment in defendants favor on a substantive due process claim based upon the murder of a state

Equal Protection claims based upon national origin are subject to close judicial scrutiny and
generally such claims follow equal protection precedent concerning race. A plaintiff must show a
discriminatory intent or purpose for a violation of the Equal protection Clause. A plaintiff cannot
just allege a racially disproportionate impact, but must also allege a discriminatory purpose for that
impact. This requires both a showing that the Defendants treated the plaintiff differently from
others similar situated individuals and that such treatment was the result of intentional
discrimination. This standard is heightened when it is against a supervisor and requires a specific
intent to discriminate behind just being aware of the consequences of their action. Essentially, a
plaintiff must show that the supervisor engaged in the discriminatory action because of the other

Checklist to Assist with the Assessment of Risk...............................................................6
Appendix 3. Monitoring and Escalation Procedures.............................................................................7
1. Introduction
The Estate has a responsibility to manage the risk to its employees, particularly when working
alone or unsupervised for significant periods.
The policy covers all employees, workers and self employed contractors.
2. Policy Statement
Lone working is common in many Estate activities. The Estate recognises that lone workers face
particular problems and they will not require employees to work in circumstances where the risks
are unacceptable.
The Estate will ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that employees and self employed
contractors who are required to work alone or unsupervised for significant periods of time are
protected from risks to their health and safety.
Solitary working exposes employees and others to certain hazards. The Estates intention is to
remove the risks from these hazards or, where this is not possible, to help employees to reduce
them to an acceptable level.
The Policy recognises that Lone Workers are a vulnerable group of employees. Therefore, risk
assessments, safe systems of work and monitoring procedures must be produced to minimise the
risk to

A person should definitely avoid the situation, but it is difficult to identify whether a person is
abusive, or not. It can be anybody. To make matters worse, when a person is falling in love,
everything becomes oblivious. People should look into extreme jealousy rage, controlling,
unrealistic expectations, isolation, use of force, and blaming others for everything. The signs
are there. Again, it is difficult to accept someone you love is capable of such things. If you find
yourself making excuses, then most likely you are in an abusive relationship. If you find
yourself suddenly alone, then you are being isolated to get beaten. A person should leave before

The Approach Of Contextualism
Contextualism is an important paradigm in architectural education and practice based research.
Context in architecture refers to the surroundings or setting in which the building is placed. In
doing so, architectural cues derived from the context play an important role in creating
architectural vocabulary. The changing dynamics of society is forcing designers to think beyond
the locals. In the process, new development is fulfilling the demands of the society, but at the same
time it is generating the sense of placelessness. Traditional built forms as physical context and
social anchorage are remaining only as a backdrop for urban development. In such situation, lack of
sense of place, identity and continuity are the major challenges in proposing architectural language.
Various theories and approaches have been suggested to address the issue. This paper is an attempt
to provide an approach of contextualism to maintain architectural identity and continuity of a place.
The paper also verifies different strategies to the conserve historic context of a place and
methodologies for responding to it logically in the present context. Here contextualism is seen as an
approach to conserve our indigenous way of life by continuing the identity of the traditional urban
landscape.

The Course Of True Love Never Did Run Smooth Essay
One would argue for the quote when Lysander says, The course of true love never did run
smooth. This can be argued for with the large abundance of examples that were revealed
throughout the play, like when Lysander and Hermia s flame of love was trying to be extinguished
by Egeus, Hermias father. Egeus desires for Hermia to wed Demetrius, but another aimlessly chases
Demetrius with the results ending in scorn, that is Helena. This overly complicated lovestory led
them to the magical forest where there already be two lovers whom love each other, though, they
constantly feud, the lovers are Oberon and Titania. In A Midsummer s Night Dream, Lysander
says, The course of true love never did run smooth, and this is true because Lysander and Hermia
are not allowed to love, Helena aimlessly chases Demetrius with no results, and though Titania and
Oberon are in love, they constantly feud.
Some may say that true love is rare and if it is, how out of the ordinary that Hermia and Lysander
share true love, though, not without a little distress. Hermia and Lysander ... Show more content on

Brueghel s Icarus

Michael Hamburger uses painting of Breughel s Icarus as a background for his poem, Lines on
Brueghel s Icarus . To fully understand the purpose of this poem, the painting by Brueghel and myth
of Icarus should be studied beforehand. By describing the visuals in the beginning, using specific
diction, and making a noticeable attitude shift, Hamburger paints a mental picture of the fateful,
unnoticed fall of Icarus.
In the first stanza, the stage is set with the types of people who were in close proximity of the
fallen Icarus: the ploughman, fisherman, and the sailor. However, none succeeded in recognizing
the rise and descent of Icarus as they were absorbed in their own tasks, immersed in their own
thoughts. The ploughman ploughs, the fisherman dreams of fish;/ Aloft, the sailor . Hearing the
wings of the hero, the shepherd was the sole being that took note of the strange phenomenon above
him. Yet, uncertain to whom the wings belonged to, he labeled them as a pair of eagle wings. To
the civilians, Icarus death was insignificant, as their lives went on without any change. ... Show

Violence In Hip Hop Music
Hip hop music and its artists are often criticized by some for glamorizing violence and being
questionable influences on today s youth. However, these artists and the dancing styles tied to their
music have not always been the same. In its roots, hip hop was originally designed to do just the
opposite. Originating on America s East coast, it was meant to distract the youth from the gang
violence riddling their neighborhoods and promote healthy competition through the popular art of
break dancing . Break dancing along with the art of graffiti meant that these neighborhoods had a

Gram Positive And Gram-Positive Bacteria
Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria can be distinguished by conducting biochemical tests. Its
growth can be examined on selected mediums containing metabolic inhibitors such as antibiotics.
The medias utilized in this project are: media containing the antibiotic vancomycin, Eosin
Methylene Blue lactose (EMB lactose) agar, and Phenylethyl alcohol (PEA) agar (Holbrook and
Leicht 2017). Vancomycin is most effective at inhibiting the growth of Gram positive cocci
(Rotschafer et al. 2005). EMB lactose agar inhibits the growth of many Gram positive bacteriaand
the lactose component of the medium allows for lactose fermenting bacteria to cause color
changes within the medium (Reynolds 2011). The presence of lactose fermenters in the EMB
lactose agar will cause a color change in the resulting colonies based on the strength of their
acidity. A metallic green colony indicates that that active fermenters are present. A pink colony
indicates that weak fermenters are present. If a bacterial species does not ferment lactose, it will
appear white or colorless (Holbrook and Leicht 2017). PEA agar is a selective medium that
inhibits the growth of most Gram negative bacteria species. It does so by interrupting the lipids
within the Gram negative cell membrane, which will affect its permeability to certain molecules.
This could result in the intake of materials that are supposed to be blocked and the release of
potassium from within the cell, which is necessary for DNA synthesis (Lal and

Reflective Commentary On Alison Bechdel s Fun Home
Creative Response Reflective Commentary
I reworked Daniel Defoe s Roxana in the graphic novel style of Alison Bechdel s Fun Home.
Initially, the reason I chose the two novels was to see how well the oldest text on the course could
be adapted into the newest. Interestingly the texts proved to be quite similar in narrative; both are
versions of autobiography (although one fictional and one true), both feature a retrospective first
person, self conscious narrator (Booth 155), and both centre around a female protagonist deviating
from societal norms of the time. Fittingly enough Roxana also mentions her father in the beginning,
although she leaves him dead quite quickly. Adapting a novelinto a graphic novel is a drastic
stylistic change, and my biggest concern was to keep my adaption steadily tied with the two texts,
whilst trying not to get too carried away in the creative process.
I based my process of making the comic on an interview with Alison Bechdel, where she explains
how she planned the text in Adobe Illustrator, sketched and inked by hand, and finally rendered
the panels digitally ( Alison Bechdel ). Like Bechdel, I relied extensively on Google images for
various details of 17th ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The italicised words and German capitalization gets lost in the all caps form of the graphic
novel, yet something lingers in terms of autonomy of the author. It has a disregard of normal
stylistic considerations affected not only by Defoe as a writer but also a progress towards a
more factual prose in the late seventeenth century (Watt 105). Nowadays, the fixed structure of
grammar allows for little waywardness in format, apart from in the graphic novel. Like Defoe, the
individual artist has a certain freedom of choice, affected only by general conventions, of where to

Character Analysis Of King Henry V
King Henry is one of the most successful kings of England. He brought two warring kingdoms
crashing together, and melded them into one united country. Henry is an extremely interesting and
dynamic character. From a young age he associated with criminals, drunkards, and other lowly
citizens. When his father was on his deathbed, he requested that Henry stopped being a criminal,
and begin acting like a king. Henry made that oath, and stayed true to it until his dying day.
As a king, he became a king after being a criminal. He went from a criminal prince to an
upstanding kind king who understands justice and follows the righteous path for the rest of his life.
It is such a crazy transformation; from criminal hiding crimes from the king to ... Show more

Directly after that event, he judges three people to death for attempting treason. Reasons like this
are the reason Henry progresses the story as the main protagonist. He is the main driving force
that is pushing the plotline forward. Every time he is in a scene he enhances it, and brings the act
more color and flare.
While Henry does adapt his ways often, he doesn t always change. One of the examples of him
sticking to old ways is how he is a religious man. Early in the story, he listens to the Archbishop,
and starts this war because of him. The Archbishop is the prophet of god, which correlates with
being a pious person. The English win the Battle of Agincourt in an astounding manner; only losing
less than 30 men while the French lost 10,000 men. He decides the reason behind them winning
the battle God s will. Another example of this is his choice to end people s lives.
Henry V is a man of God, which is again shown on the eve of the Battle of Agincourt when he is
talking with his men. One of his men wishes they had more men fighting, yet Henry wishes the
opposite. If God has chosen them to lose this battle then more men would die. On the
other hand, if God had chosen them to win, extra men wouldn t be needed, so they can use those

Deborah Tannen There Is No Unmarked Woman
There is something subtle about attitudes toward women, something that many people act in
accordance to but are only subconsciously aware of. It is the constant judgment that women face,
and it is also something Deborah Tannen noticed while sitting in an ordinary meeting one day.
During that meeting, she found herself noticing only the females of the room, not the men. Tannen
then realized that it was because The men s styles were unmarked (Tannen 389). While there are
standard hairstyles and clothing for men, there are none for women. Everything that a womanwears
is a reflection of who she is. In her piece titled There Is No Unmarked Woman, she writes about her
experience and concludes that women cannot escape judgment no matter what they do.

In this piece, Tannen is sad and disappointed that women are still treated differently than men are.
According to Tannen, there is nothing a woman can resort to if she does not want to be judged.
That is, no woman is unmarked . For example, she states that There is no woman s hair style that
can be called standard, that says nothing about her. The range of women s hair styles is
staggering, but a woman whose hair has no particular style is perceived as not caring about how
she looks... (390). If a woman were to opt for a plain hairstyle, it would still give a message. In
writing about this, Tannen comes to a startling conclusion. She finds that, even today, women have

Codification Of Parliamentary Privileges- Why It Is...
CODIFICATION OF PARLIAMENTARY PRIVILEGES WHY IT IS ABSOLUTELY
NECESSARY? No law per to the provisions contained under Article 105(3)and 194(3) of the
Constitution of India has been made so far with regard to the codification of the other privileges,
which is contrary to very intent and desire of the founding fathers. Even in the United Kingdom, the
law with regard to the Parliamentary Privileges has undergone tremendous change since 1950,
however, the Indian Legislatures have still not realized the need for a step to be taken towards the
improvisation and evolution of the law which earlier prevailed in the House of Commons at the
time of the commencement of the Constitution of India. The apprehension resisting this kind of an

There is no doubt that there is an absolute requirement to confer upon the Parliament certain
powers, immunities and privileges to ensure its independent functioning and also for the
preservation of its prestige and dignity. However, it is also absolutely necessary that such powers
and privileges are made use of in a responsible and diligent manner and in accordance with the
principles of natural justice and the other provisions enshrined under Part III of the Constitution of
India. For the purpose of securing greater clarity and certainty with respect to the provisions
contained under Article 105(3) (and also Article 194(3)), it is necessary that constitutional mandate
contained in the first part of the above provisions be implemented and thereby, the privileges also
be codified. Moreover, it is completely baseless to consider that the codification of the
Parliamentary Privileges would result in the detraction from the prestige and sovereignty of the
Parliament. In fact, if

Essay about Ancient Egypt
Egyptian history is rich, vibrant, and full of interesting cultural knowledge. Egypt is one of the
most fertile countries located in the Mediterranean Sea; because approximately 40,000 years ago
many people lived in Egypt earlier than in other places. The Egyptian environment is a hot and dry
area, because it is a part of the Sahara Desert. Many Egyptiansreligious beliefs were polytheistic;
they believed in several different gods. The economy during the ancient Egyptian time period was
different because they were one of the first groups on earth to begin the farming trade. Although

Egyptians have been polytheistic since the beginning of time and throughout the Old Kingdom,
Middle Kingdom, and New Kingdom. This means they had faith in many different gods. They
were said to have worshipped their gods with animal sacrifices and many of the people would
carry images of the god from place to place. In the beginning the Egyptians believed that only
pharaohs had an afterlife. The Egyptians also believed that all of Egypt belonged to the gods and
Pharaoh was their representative here on earth. Some thought that maybe he was a god himself
and that made everything in Egypt belong to him. They later began to believe that everyone,
including animals, had an afterlife. Egyptians trusted that when a person died Anubis would

deeds, that person would be punished. The heart was thrown to a horrible monster called the Eater

Creon And Haimon In Sophocles Antigone
In the play Antigone, by Sophocles; Creon, the king of Thebes, created a law against the burial of
Polyneices. Polyneices is considered a traitor for attacking Thebes when his brother took the
throne. Antigone, Polyneices sister, decided to go against her uncle and almost father in law;
Creon, because she believed the god s law was more meaningful than Creons. Creon decides to
execute her in order to keep his own pride; this action upsets the citizens of Thebes and Creon s

women is wrong, because he does not see them as objects. They also discussed Polyneices burial,
in which Creon was still too stubborn to listen to Haimons reasoning, and that the city folk
believed Creon was in the wrong. Another big scene was when Creon was repulsed by Haimon
being not only disobedient, but also by the fact that Haimon was choosing a women over him.
Creon sees his son choose Antigone over him, which he finds a horrible offence because Antigone
went against his orders, so he believes she is in the wrong and not himself. Creon stated to get
more outraged when Haimon accused him of being a blind ruler. Creon begin to get overly
suspicious by Haimon saying this because Creon thinks Haimon might overthrow him. This
argument during this scene becomes a big part of the tragic play, because if this argument never
happened, then Haimon would not have killed himself. In one day Haimon had lost his father and
his fiance because of his father s arrogance. If Creon had listened to Haimons opinion and concerns
on Polyneices burial and Antigone s punishment, Creon would have not been responsible for three
deaths. In Antigone, by Sophocles, Creon the king of Thebes is a foil to his son Haimon, Hiamon

Comparing The Methods Using Products And Services
M2: Compare the methods used to distribute products and services.
For M2, I will compare the different distribution channel for two different product which is food
and clothing. I will examine how retailer distribute food and clothing and what s required to ensure
the product is at good condition before it reach to customers.
Food
The distribution of food is different from clothing as suppliers will need to bear in mind how to
appropriately handle food products, example, and health inspection in storage room to avoid
transmissible disease. The food distribution is short to ensure that the food is fresh and will not go
out of date. This is why many food retailer like Tescomainly source their product in UK than
overseas. Food like fruits are perishable therefore retailers need to take in consideration to how
they will handle the product, transport they are going to use, preservation of product and how it s
going to be packaged before they sell it to customers. Perishable food like fresh strawberries or
frozen food are both time and temperature sensitive. This is why business like Tesco usually
temperature in their storage room is at optimum temperature range to maintain quality and
freshness of the food like fresh strawberries.
On the other hand, Tesco also packaged their food like fresh strawberries in a plastic container to
ensure that it s not going to smash. This also enables customers to purchase the product easier as
the fruit is already packaged for them.

The matching structure of NDM 1 inhibits the effectiveness of the antibiotics that share the same
chemical structure. Carbapenems are relatively new antibiotics that are used to treat organisms that
have mutated and developed resistances to older antibiotics such as penicillins and cephalosporins.
NDM 1 is further resistant to carbapenems because it secrets the enzyme carbapenemase. This
secretion inhibits the antibiotics from synthesizing the bacteria s cell wall in order to disable the
bacteria. It is concerning that NDM 1 already has a strong resistance to the more effective
carbapenems. Unfortunately the life cycle for this organism is unknown as of yet. This
uncertainty aids in making NDM 1 a threat to society. Once it is understood how NDM 1 bacteria
are transmitted, the health threats associated with the organism can be diagnosed and treated
more easily. NDM 1 is easily transmitted because it resides in the plasmids of the bacteria, which
provides an ideal surface for horizontal gene transfer. Thus, NDM 1 can easily transfer from one
bacterial strain to another or from one bacterial genus to another. Because the main strains of
bacteria that produce NDM 1 (escherichia coli, klebsiella pneumoniae, and enterobacter cloacae)
reside in the bowels if the body, the disease is often spread through fecal material. Once the
bacterium is transferred, a variety of symptoms may arise: a urinary tract infection, a bloodstream

Challenges Facing International Students
Most international students happen to have some major and minor struggles when they come to the
USA. People from different countries usually have different background, different thoughts,
different culture. Therefore, international students who come to the USA, tend to struggle with
some problems. The three most important challenges international students face can be categorized
into three groups: emotional challenges such as culture shock and homesick, social challenges, and
academic challenges. The emotional struggles that international students have are homesickness
and culture shock. According to Ivan Sekyonda from Uganda, he appreciates the school faculties
for helping him with going through homesickness and culture shock (Sewall, p. 127). Students from
different countries happen to have trouble adapting to American culture that is more liberal. This
inability of getting along with American culture due to culture difference causes homesickness
which makes students want to go back home. Many international students seem to not enjoy their
first year in America for such problems. The social challenges that international students face
include international students only relating to other international students. According to Macalester
College, a group of Chinese students were already bonded altogether within themselves even before
they came to the campus (Fischer, p. 100). Usually, American students find other students, who are

In Death Of A Salesman Willy treats his wife Linda, as though he does not appreciate her. He

Purpose Of The Disability Voting Rights
Purpose of the Disability Voting Rights Paper
This paper argues the disabled communities do not enjoy full voting rights to participate in the
political system. There are several political factors that explain why the concerns of the disabled
communities have largely been ignored or not adequately addressed. The Committee of Seventy is
an organization with strong political influence over the elections held every year in the City of
Philadelphia, PA. The organizational enjoys a great reputation among local politicians, CEOs, and
other socially affluent residents of the city. It is important to acknowledge the disabled

Need for Strategic Change
The Committee of Seventy has successfully implemented a civic reform strategy in the City of
Philadelphia. The residents of Philadelphia desire equal voting rights. The gerrymander system
controls districts throughout the city. Both Republican and Democratic parties have acknowledged
gerrymandering strategies help them protect districts (Persily, 2007).
The gerrymander system is a primary strategic tool. The strategic planning can help address the
problems created by the gerrymander system that limit voting rights and result in controlled
elections (Byrson, 2010). The disabled communities are often invisible under the gerrymander
system because both political parties focus on race and age, and this is true in the City of
Philadelphia as well. The voter turnout tends to be low among the members of the disabled
communities assuming other factors including the demographics are constant (Schur et al., 2002).
The Voting Rights Act Re authorization in 2006 didn t help much as the voter turnout, whether
measured by state or racial group, still declined (Persily, 2007). The electronic Absentee Ballot
forms also discourage political engagement by the disabled communities. The use of strategic tools
by both parties further limits the political participation by the disabled communities. The research
literature has identified several reasons why people with disabilities may have trouble driving to the

Infections of the American Chestnut Tree Essay
Cryphonectria parasitica, a filamentous, ascomycete fungus, is the causal agent of the chestnut
blight5,14 which was introduced to North America from Japan circa 190412,14.The chestnut blight
infects all members of the Castanea family14, and some members of the genus Quercus though C.
parasitica infections are superficial14. A C. parasitica infection typically begins at a branch node
or wound in the tree s bark 14. Once a spore has entered the tree, hyphal growth begins14. When the
fungi s hyphae reach the cambium, the xylem and phloem are blocked, cutting off the transport of
water and nutrients and a sunken canker is formed14. Eventually, the lack of water and nutrients
kills the tree above the point of infection14. As a fungus, C.... Show more content on

One excellent use for blight resistant American chestnuts is reclaiming surface mines. Though other
species of trees can survive in the harsh conditions typical of surface mines, they have little to no
value as lumber and provide little for wildlife4. Chestnuts would also provide a fast growing lumber
source, one that is lightweight, strong, and moderately rot resistant. Additionally, the large nut
crops produced by the American chestnut would increase the ecosystems carrying capacity for
wildlife, and moderate population fluctuations that follow mast (nut crop) fluctuations. For these
and other reasons which space here does not permit, restoring the American chestnut is worthwhile
endeavor.
Although C. dentata is not resistant to an infection by the blight fungus, it is not entirely
defenseless. One attempt at warding off C. parasitica is the growth of callus encircling the fungi s
mycelium to prevent its spread (cite). This may or may not work, in either case the fungi will
spread to another site on the tree via sporulation. A second barrier to blight infection is the chestnut
s relatively high levels of tannic acid(s) in the cambium (cite). However, as will be discussed later,
tannic acids may benefit the blight. The most promising method for increasing C. denata s blight
resistance is The American Chestnut Foundation s breeding program. To give the chestnut the
advantage in its battle with its evolutionary foe, it is necessary to study the factors that make C.

When most homeowners begin contemplating about a metal roof, all they could visualize were the

Do Girls Have Too Much Pressure On What Their Body Figure...
Do girls have too much pressure on what their body figure looks like? One s body is what makes
us who we are. Every single person is unique due to an individual physical trait. Even though
everyone has an opinion about what his or her perfect body would be, changing one s personal
features would take away from individuality. Not just your inner beauty, but your outer beauty
makes you different than anyone else. What is positive body image? Your face is the first thing
that everyone notices. It communicates to the world that you are together, knowledgeable,
informed, and capable with your title and position. Your face should be completely relaxed and
in control. Body language is a kind of non verbal communication, were thoughts, intensions, and
feelings are expressed by physical behaviors, such as facial expressions, body posture, gestures,
eye movement, touch and the use of space. Body language exist in both humans and animals.
Body language comprises gesture, stance, and facial expression. These are all the more
important when all eyes of an audience are upon you. When you are presenting, strong positive
body language becomes an essential tool in helping you build credibility, express your emotions,
and connect with your listeners. It also helps your listeners focus more intently on you and what
you re saying. What is negative body image? Negative body image can involve a distorted
perception of size of shape, as well as more global feelings of shame, awkwardness, and

Imperialism In Belgium
Many white Europeans believed that they lived in a civilized nation with the right religion and
culture and had a duty to influence the less developed non whites by taking care of the inferior
civilizations; this is known as the white man s burden. According to Prince Leopold, the heir to the
throne of Belgium, [L]et us see where there are unoccupied lands...to prove to the world that
Belgians also are an imperial people capable of dominating and enlightening others. He states that
Belgium wants to imperialize in order to dominate and enlighten others with the others being the
uncivilized cultural groups as stated in the white man s burden. Even though it is not explicitly
said, it can be inferred that a major motivation for Belgium was... Show more content on

What we exercised is a right...We are entitled to...occupy their territories [and] charged with a duty
toward these peoples . This is the ultimate example of the white man s burden. According to Merlin,
a French governor, the original inhabitants are backwards , plunged into barbarism , and unable to
control the wealth of their land . The difference with these people and the French, despite the
obvious like the country they live, is the color of their skin. A person could argue that culture is
another difference, which is true, but if culture was an actual factor in imperialism, each European
country would imperialize each other since Britain, France, Russia, Belgium, etc all have unique
cultures. The only difference between Europe as a whole and these nations is the color of their skin
which in the minds of the white makes them incompetent and unable to take care of themselves.

and the Europeans are entitled to..occupy their territories [and] charged with a duty toward these

Aesthetics In Honduras
V.Religion and Aesthetics In Honduras, Christianity is the prevalent religion. 97% of the
population is Roman Catholic and 3% are Protestants. This widespread of Christianity traces its
roots back to the early sixteenth century when the Spanish invaded Honduras. Folk dances and
modern dances are enjoyed by Hondurans. The sique and mascaro are the two main types of
folk dances in Honduras (Painter, 2016). VI.Living Conditions Rural conditions are vastly
different from those who live in the city. 60% of the land is forested while 25% is available for
agriculture. Many of the citizens are farmers because of the amount of land accessible to farm
with. The quality of soil is far less than standard. In the mountainous areas, the soil is either
eroded or not viable enough to sustain crops grown. Because of this, many small farmers are
much poorer and live in poverty. Many families eat corn or beans for the better part of each meal
while meat is rare to some (Merrill, 1995).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Houses are built with sugarcane stalks, bound together with mud. The floors in each hut are
made of dirt. Finding a place to live has become difficult for some. The more land is used to raise
cattle and plant vegetables, the less space available for people to live. Many people are known to
squat in locations not suitable for humans to thrive and dwell. This constitutes a low standard of
living in rural areas. Those who have money experience much better living conditions. They have
access to clean water and more food. Citizens in this class live in houses near populous cities or
even own their own land (Merrill,

Similarities Between Gilgamesh And Oedipus
Heroes are extraordinary characters who carry human qualities that reassure followers of the
heroes limitations. A hero is commonly considered a god, a being with great power that is brave
enough to save whole cities. The human qualities are always their greatest fault, it comes in the
image of pride, ego, selfishness, and even denial. These flaws are represented by the heroes
Gilgamesh and Oedipus. Gilgamesh and Oedipus undertake journeys in search of a truththat will
preserve their glory. While Gilgamesh searches for immortality, Oedipus searches for a different
fate, both, fearing death. However, only one reaches their their goal. Similarly, both figures are
kings; rulers of communities which reflect their ruling. In Gilgamesh s epic, the people knew of
his endeavors and had to live with his sporadic acts because he was their rulerand accepted him as
so. As declared, Day and night his behavior became overbearing. He was their shepherd, yet
powerful, superb, knowledgeable and expert, Gilgamesh would not leave young girls alone,
(199), and it is a positive reflection of his ruling due to the community accepting his antics
through their approval of his leadership. On the other hand, Oedipus ruling was a negative
concept on the fate of the people. The people see his flaws and have their doubts of his rule once
they realize he is the root of their suffering, yet do not fully accept the reality of the situation. This
god of plague guts our city and fills the black world

What Makes Good People Do Bad Things By Susan Dittman
Describing someone with the word evil refers to them committing an action that is considered
immoral and malicious. Evil people pull off these type acts: robbing a bank, violent killings of
living creatures, and even mental abuse through verbal or physical actions. Many people always
wonder, what was the initial purpose of committing such inhumane actions? They may say hatred,
anger, and revenge are some of the causes of evil. Although these traits do cause the idea of evil in
an individual, the inspiration for iniquitous intents is in fact sprouted through the unideal human
traits of apathy and ego.
One of the human traits that cause evil is apathy; for it makes people not consider the other
individuals feelings and security. Every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another example is in fact in our society. In modern society, people tend to act as bystanders,
people who don t pay attention to their surroundings. Take into the account of witnessing the
scenarios of someone being bullied and a homeless man begging for money. In the bullying
scenario, most of the time, the people acting like bystanders do nothing about the situation at
hand. Typically, the right idea is to address the stakes at hand, whether calling for help or even
putting oneself out there. Unfortunately, our society ignores the fact of another human is being
verbally or physically abused. We tend to be in our own little worlds when we encounter an
event such as bullying due to the fact we feel as if there isn t a way we can help. Instead of
helping a fellow peer with a challenge, we re afraid to put ourselves out there. We refuse because
we mainly care for our well being or we simply don t believe we have what it takes to fix the
situation; this leads to the feeling of apathy. The homeless person scenario is no different. When a
homeless person begs for money, the common courtesy is to of course contribute any amount of
money towards the homeless man; however, this concept

Shakespeare’s Presentation of Rome and Egypt in Antony and...
Shakespeare s Presentation of Rome and Egypt in Antony and Cleopatra As the title clearly
suggests, Shakespeare s Antony and Cleopatra is based around the extraordinary relationship
among two distinctive individuals, one a Roman general and the other an Egyptian queen. Along
with Caesar who is also a Roman general, these entities dominate the play s tragic storyline
progression. However whilst Antony and Cleopatra centres around a provocative love affair,
Shakespeare makes it evident that there is a good deal larger tensions involved, a collision course
between two worlds. Antony and Cleopatra details the conflict between Rome and Egypt, it
demonstrates the differences between Eastern and Western... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In Antony and Cleopatra, West and East collide, but it does not in spite of Caesar s conquest
over the land of Egypt, defeat it. Cleopatra s suicide implies that a touch of the East s character,
the freedoms and fervour that are not signified in the play s notion of the West, cannot be listed
by Caesar s victory. The play proposes that the East will survive on as a perceptible and invincible
counterpart to the West, bound as inseparably and everlastingly as Antony and Cleopatra are in
their mausoleum. As the play develops, Antony continues to occupy contradictory characteristics
that play out the struggle between motive and feeling. In one instance, he is the rancorous war
hero whom Caesar eulogizes and fears. Almost immediately after that, he surrenders his military
designation by foolishly allowing Cleopatra to establish his course of action. As his Roman
friends, even the faithful Enobarbus desert him, Antony feels that he has, without a doubt, lost
himself in old age, and he resolves to salvage his dignified individuality by killing his self.
Originally, this act may emerge to be a victory of motive over fervour, of Western consciousness
over Eastern ones, but the play is not as straightforward as that. Even though Antony departs this
life deeming himself a man of reverence,

  • 2. Abercrombie And Fitch Paper Advertising can also go wrong in the fashion industry. As noted by Aerens (2005), the Abercrombie and Fitch fashion brand became the most controversial advertiser when it combined a father and son relationship in their advertising imagery in the early 1990s. Sadly, this was socially misinterpreted by the public as a portrayal of homosexuality. There was an era (i.e. in the 1980s) when advertisers thought that camp (gay, homosexual) images in advertisingwere damaging to male fashion; in that males could not relate to each other in such a manner and they were threatened by homosexual imagery something more conservative would have been more successful (Mort, 1996, pp. 72, 73; Elliott and Elliott, 2005, p. 5). The same type of social study of fashion advertising of feminised males and the reposes of male (i.e. heterosexual) consumers was undertaken in the late 1990s by Kimmel and Tissier Desbordes (1999) and the conclusion was similar.... However, after the short period (i.e. a decade) of a fall from grace and accusations of promoting soft core pornography, the Abercrombie and Fitch brand turned this controversy around by toning down nudity by utilising artistic images of models wearing Abercrombie and Fitch clothing. • 3. Amrith s Journey This is a fitting title for the section I read as it helped readers understand Amrith s life and emotions by concluding the novel with Amrith having many of his problems solved. In my opinion, a journey is like a rollercoaster filled with ups and downs that only finishes when it ends. Just like the novel, Amrith experiences many new things that he became quite fond of, even if the same happiness became his misery. Nevertheless, this was only temporarily as Amrith is naГЇve and easily jealous, thankfully over time he learned that staying ignorant does not solve his conflicts and he must make amends on his own. Prior to the ending, Amrith corrected his issues with his fake family and blood related family, comprising of Niresh and his dead mother. Finally, Amrith is even rewarded with a gift, that I will explain later, which seems realistic as opposed to Amrith and Niresh magically falling in love during the last chapter. Quick Summary: The last chapter was almost subtle to the point where it felt like a cliff hanger. The conclusion made it seem as if Selvadurai plans on publishing a sequel, but that is not the case. Regardless, the last few chapters revealed background knowledge on the mysterious death of Amrith s parents. It explained how his mother was forced into giving up Amrith, in attempt to cure Amrith s father from his alcohol problems. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The only issue was that Amrith has always been naГЇve and interpreted the situation as a vulgar act, though his reasoning can be justified and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Art of the Egyptians and Africans Art of the Egyptians and Africans Art of the Egyptians and Africans express .............................In art, style is a characteristic, or a number of characteristics that we can identify as constant, recurring, or coherent.(Art Terminology 1) Artists express their emotions through their art making, their finished product will reflect that emotion. They might also create a piece of art that makes the viewer create an emotional response. Emotion is any strong agitation of the feelings actuated by experiencing love, hate, fear, etc.(Dictionary 1) Ancient Egyptian art is five thousand years old. It emerged and took shape in the ancient Egypt, the civilization of the Nile Valley. Ancient Egyptian art was shown with emotion beautifully in painting and sculpture, and was both highly symbolic and stylized. The exceptional traditions in Egypt is one of the most important things in the history of art. The tombs and temples of the Egyptians have expressed the grandeur of the kingdom of the Nile. Egyptian sculptors and painters began to formulate patterns to represent figures and stories. Egyptians used the art to represent a continuation of life after death, it was an important part of their culture. They believed that, in order for the spirit to live on, the dead person s body had to be preserved, or mummified, and buried along with supplies of food and drink, tools and utensils, valued possessions. This was a community focused urban agriculture project that helped raise funds to continue operating the greenhouses during the winter. It also enabled them to provide consistent year round after school employment for four of the young people that helped to get the project off the ground. This campaign was in addition to several community events held in efforts to raise money for the green winter . This was as a result of weather implications in Rochester, NY, which prevented them from growing fresh fruits and vegetables. The pilot aquaponic farming system would winterize the greenhouse by sustaining a year round farming operation that enabled them to triple production capabilities with four new vertical grow beds. Not only did the money raised help physically make these changes possible, but it also provided the youthwith more after school activities as a result of these expansions. • 16. The Approach Of Contextualism Contextualism is an important paradigm in architectural education and practice based research. Context in architecture refers to the surroundings or setting in which the building is placed. In doing so, architectural cues derived from the context play an important role in creating architectural vocabulary. The changing dynamics of society is forcing designers to think beyond the locals. In the process, new development is fulfilling the demands of the society, but at the same time it is generating the sense of placelessness. Traditional built forms as physical context and social anchorage are remaining only as a backdrop for urban development. In such situation, lack of sense of place, identity and continuity are the major challenges in proposing architectural language. Various theories and approaches have been suggested to address the issue. This paper is an attempt to provide an approach of contextualism to maintain architectural identity and continuity of a place. This can be argued for with the large abundance of examples that were revealed throughout the play, like when Lysander and Hermia s flame of love was trying to be extinguished by Egeus, Hermias father. Egeus desires for Hermia to wed Demetrius, but another aimlessly chases Demetrius with the results ending in scorn, that is Helena. This overly complicated lovestory led them to the magical forest where there already be two lovers whom love each other, though, they constantly feud, the lovers are Oberon and Titania. To fully understand the purpose of this poem, the painting by Brueghel and myth of Icarus should be studied beforehand. By describing the visuals in the beginning, using specific diction, and making a noticeable attitude shift, Hamburger paints a mental picture of the fateful, unnoticed fall of Icarus. In the first stanza, the stage is set with the types of people who were in close proximity of the fallen Icarus: the ploughman, fisherman, and the sailor. However, none succeeded in recognizing the rise and descent of Icarus as they were absorbed in their own tasks, immersed in their own thoughts. The ploughman ploughs, the fisherman dreams of fish;/ Aloft, the sailor . Hearing the wings of the hero, the shepherd was the sole being that took note of the strange phenomenon above him. • 20. Gram Positive And Gram-Positive Bacteria Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria can be distinguished by conducting biochemical tests. Its growth can be examined on selected mediums containing metabolic inhibitors such as antibiotics. The medias utilized in this project are: media containing the antibiotic vancomycin, Eosin Methylene Blue lactose (EMB lactose) agar, and Phenylethyl alcohol (PEA) agar (Holbrook and Leicht 2017). Vancomycin is most effective at inhibiting the growth of Gram positive cocci (Rotschafer et al. 2005). EMB lactose agar inhibits the growth of many Gram positive bacteriaand the lactose component of the medium allows for lactose fermenting bacteria to cause color changes within the medium (Reynolds 2011). The presence of lactose fermenters in the EMB lactose agar will cause a color change in the resulting colonies based on the strength of their acidity. A metallic green colony indicates that that active fermenters are present. A pink colony indicates that weak fermenters are present. If a bacterial species does not ferment lactose, it will appear white or colorless (Holbrook and Leicht 2017). PEA agar is a selective medium that inhibits the growth of most Gram negative bacteria species. It does so by interrupting the lipids within the Gram negative cell membrane, which will affect its permeability to certain molecules. This could result in the intake of materials that are supposed to be blocked and the release of potassium from within the cell, which is necessary for DNA synthesis (Lal and ... • 21. Reflective Commentary On Alison Bechdel s Fun Home Creative Response Reflective Commentary I reworked Daniel Defoe s Roxana in the graphic novel style of Alison Bechdel s Fun Home. Initially, the reason I chose the two novels was to see how well the oldest text on the course could be adapted into the newest. Interestingly the texts proved to be quite similar in narrative; both are versions of autobiography (although one fictional and one true), both feature a retrospective first person, self conscious narrator (Booth 155), and both centre around a female protagonist deviating from societal norms of the time. Fittingly enough Roxana also mentions her father in the beginning, although she leaves him dead quite quickly. Adapting a novelinto a graphic novel is a drastic stylistic change, and my biggest concern was to keep my adaption steadily tied with the two texts, whilst trying not to get too carried away in the creative process. I based my process of making the comic on an interview with Alison Bechdel, where she explains how she planned the text in Adobe Illustrator, sketched and inked by hand, and finally rendered the panels digitally ( Alison Bechdel ). Nowadays, the fixed structure of grammar allows for little waywardness in format, apart from in the graphic novel. He is the main driving force that is pushing the plotline forward. Every time he is in a scene he enhances it, and brings the act more color and flare. While Henry does adapt his ways often, he doesn t always change. One of the examples of him sticking to old ways is how he is a religious man. Early in the story, he listens to the Archbishop, and starts this war because of him. The Archbishop is the prophet of god, which correlates with being a pious person. On the other hand, if God had chosen them to win, extra men wouldn t be needed, so they can use those extra men to suppress the Scottish rebellion. The matching structure of NDM 1 inhibits the effectiveness of the antibiotics that share the same chemical structure. Carbapenems are relatively new antibiotics that are used to treat organisms that have mutated and developed resistances to older antibiotics such as penicillins and cephalosporins. NDM 1 is further resistant to carbapenems because it secrets the enzyme carbapenemase. This secretion inhibits the antibiotics from synthesizing the bacteria s cell wall in order to disable the bacteria. It is concerning that NDM 1 already has a strong resistance to the more effective carbapenems. Unfortunately the life cycle for this organism is unknown as of yet. This uncertainty aids in making NDM 1 a threat to society. Once it is understood how NDM 1 bacteria are transmitted, the health threats associated with the organism can be diagnosed and treated more easily. NDM 1 is easily transmitted because it resides in the plasmids of the bacteria, which provides an ideal surface for horizontal gene transfer. Thus, NDM 1 can easily transfer from one bacterial strain to another or from one bacterial genus to another. Because the main strains of bacteria that produce NDM 1 (escherichia coli, klebsiella pneumoniae, and enterobacter cloacae) reside in the bowels if the body, the disease is often spread through fecal material. The strategic planning can help address the problems created by the gerrymander system that limit voting rights and result in controlled elections (Byrson, 2010). A C. parasitica infection typically begins at a branch node or wound in the tree s bark 14. Once a spore has entered the tree, hyphal growth begins14. When the fungi s hyphae reach the cambium, the xylem and phloem are blocked, cutting off the transport of water and nutrients and a sunken canker is formed14. One excellent use for blight resistant American chestnuts is reclaiming surface mines. Though other species of trees can survive in the harsh conditions typical of surface mines, they have little to no value as lumber and provide little for wildlife4. Chestnuts would also provide a fast growing lumber source, one that is lightweight, strong, and moderately rot resistant. Additionally, the large nut crops produced by the American chestnut would increase the ecosystems carrying capacity for wildlife, and moderate population fluctuations that follow mast (nut crop) fluctuations. For these and other reasons which space here does not permit, restoring the American chestnut is worthwhile endeavor. Although C. dentata is not resistant to an infection by the blight fungus, it is not entirely defenseless. One attempt at warding off C. parasitica is the growth of callus encircling the fungi s mycelium to prevent its spread (cite). This may or may not work, in either case the fungi will spread to another site on the tree via sporulation. A second barrier to blight infection is the chestnut s relatively high levels of tannic acid(s) in the cambium (cite). However, as will be discussed later, tannic acids may benefit the blight. A hero is commonly considered a god, a being with great power that is brave enough to save whole cities. The human qualities are always their greatest fault, it comes in the image of pride, ego, selfishness, and even denial. These flaws are represented by the heroes Gilgamesh and Oedipus. Gilgamesh and Oedipus undertake journeys in search of a truththat will preserve their glory. While Gilgamesh searches for immortality, Oedipus searches for a different fate, both, fearing death. However, only one reaches their their goal. Similarly, both figures are kings; rulers of communities which reflect their ruling. In Gilgamesh s epic, the people knew of his endeavors and had to live with his sporadic acts because he was their rulerand accepted him as so. As declared, Day and night his behavior became overbearing. He was their shepherd, yet powerful, superb, knowledgeable and expert, Gilgamesh would not leave young girls alone, (199), and it is a positive reflection of his ruling due to the community accepting his antics through their approval of his leadership. On the other hand, Oedipus ruling was a negative concept on the fate of the people. • 50. What Makes Good People Do Bad Things By Susan Dittman Describing someone with the word evil refers to them committing an action that is considered immoral and malicious. Evil people pull off these type acts: robbing a bank, violent killings of living creatures, and even mental abuse through verbal or physical actions. Many people always wonder, what was the initial purpose of committing such inhumane actions? They may say hatred, anger, and revenge are some of the causes of evil. Although these traits do cause the idea of evil in an individual, the inspiration for iniquitous intents is in fact sprouted through the unideal human traits of apathy and ego. One of the human traits that cause evil is apathy; for it makes people not consider the other individuals feelings and security. Every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another example is in fact in our society. In modern society, people tend to act as bystanders, people who don t pay attention to their surroundings. Take into the account of witnessing the scenarios of someone being bullied and a homeless man begging for money. In the bullying scenario, most of the time, the people acting like bystanders do nothing about the situation at hand. Typically, the right idea is to address the stakes at hand, whether calling for help or even putting oneself out there. Unfortunately, our society ignores the fact of another human is being verbally or physically abused. We tend to be in our own little worlds when we encounter an event such as bullying due to the fact we feel as if there isn t a way we can help. Instead of helping a fellow peer with a challenge, we re afraid to put ourselves out there. We refuse because we mainly care for our well being or we simply don t believe we have what it takes to fix the situation; this leads to the feeling of apathy. The homeless person scenario is no different. When a homeless person begs for money, the common courtesy is to of course contribute any amount of money towards the homeless man; however, this concept ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shakespeare s Presentation of Rome and Egypt in Antony and Cleopatra As the title clearly suggests, Shakespeare s Antony and Cleopatra is based around the extraordinary relationship among two distinctive individuals, one a Roman general and the other an Egyptian queen. Along with Caesar who is also a Roman general, these entities dominate the play s tragic storyline progression. However whilst Antony and Cleopatra centres around a provocative love affair, Shakespeare makes it evident that there is a good deal larger tensions involved, a collision course between two worlds. Antony and Cleopatra details the conflict between Rome and Egypt, it demonstrates the differences between Eastern and Western... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Antony and Cleopatra, West and East collide, but it does not in spite of Caesar s conquest over the land of Egypt, defeat it. Cleopatra s suicide implies that a touch of the East s character, the freedoms and fervour that are not signified in the play s notion of the West, cannot be listed by Caesar s victory. The play proposes that the East will survive on as a perceptible and invincible counterpart to the West, bound as inseparably and everlastingly as Antony and Cleopatra are in their mausoleum. As the play develops, Antony continues to occupy contradictory characteristics that play out the struggle between motive and feeling. In one instance, he is the rancorous war hero whom Caesar eulogizes and fears. Almost immediately after that, he surrenders his military designation by foolishly allowing Cleopatra to establish his course of action. As his Roman friends, even the faithful Enobarbus desert him, Antony feels that he has, without a doubt, lost himself in old age, and he resolves to salvage his dignified individuality by killing his self. Originally, this act may emerge to be a victory of motive over fervour, of Western consciousness over Eastern ones, but the play is not as straightforward as that. Even though Antony departs this life deeming himself a man of reverence, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
