Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) refers to eye strain and discomfort from prolonged computer use. Symptoms include headaches, dry eyes, blurred vision, and neck or back pain. CVS results from over-focusing due to pixels that lack defined edges, maintaining a fixed posture, and infrequent blinking while staring at screens. It can be minimized by taking regular breaks, adjusting screen height and distance, reducing glare, blinking more often, and using eye drops to lubricate dry eyes. Anyone who uses computers for more than two hours per day is at risk of CVS.
