Computer vision syndrome (CVS) refers to eye problems that result from prolonged computer use. Symptoms include dry eyes, eye strain, headaches, blurred vision, and neck or back pain. CVS is caused by factors like reduced blinking, improper lighting or screen positioning, uncorrected refractive errors, and poor posture. To prevent CVS, one should blink more, follow the 20-20-20 rule of taking breaks, adjust lighting and screen settings, use an eye exam to check for refractive errors, and consider computer glasses.
