Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) refers to vision-related symptoms that develop from daily computer use of two or more hours. Characters on screens lack the well-defined edges of printed text and are brightest in the center, diminishing at the edges. This makes focusing difficult for the eyes, which must constantly refocus from their resting point. The continuous flexing of the focusing muscles creates eyestrain and fatigue. More than 85% of computer users suffer from CVS, which affects mental and physical wellbeing and impacts productivity. Appropriate diagnosis and treatment of vision problems can improve eye health and reduce CVS symptoms.
