Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) refers to vision problems that result from extensive computer use. Anyone who uses a computer for more than two hours per day is at risk. Symptoms include tired eyes, headaches, blurred vision, dry eyes, and neck or shoulder pain. The symptoms are caused by the eyes having to constantly refocus on computer screens as well as poor posture and lighting conditions. To prevent CVS, one should have regular eye exams, practice ergonomics like proper screen positioning, do eye exercises, take frequent breaks, and consider computer glasses or eye drops. Taking breaks every 30 minutes can help reduce eye fatigue.
