Scope of the study This is an attempt made to investigate the use of advanced  media extn personnel in rural area different organizations in dharwad and at  diff’nt hierarchial level Year 2004-05
objectives To elicit information related to advanced communication media used by diff’nt org’s in for the purpose  of rural development To identify the advanced communication media advocated by different org’n for RD To explore the pattern of advanced communication media usage by different level of extn personel
4 .  To analyze the factors involved in selection of media by different org’n for RD 5. To study the constraints faced by the usage of advanced CM & suggestion for improvement
The advanced CM medias selected for the study is Cell phone Telephone Computers Laptops VCD Satellite communication stations Video audio conferencing Interactive video CAI Video text & tele text

MAJOR FINDINGS More than half of the institutions & organizations (52.63%)are in govt jurisdiction Cent percent organizations possessing  telephone at their offices   Large percentage (57.6%)belongs to  middle management level hierarchy Experience of extension personnel is b/n 2-5 yrs  66.6% have not undergone training 81.06% are using telephone in house 70% extensionn personnel uses computer for documentation`
Suggestion by respondents Providing training Replicating cyber extn model all over the India Software in local  languages Telecom & IT for small towns/rural areas
CONCLUSION Majority of respondents prefer traditional communication media The authority should take  adequate training & work shops The higher & middle level extn personnel using ACM at greater extent Lack of software in local languages
