17. Yesterday, I went to Kurunegala food city at 4.30 pm with my friend John. John is a nice
friend and he is fat and tall. I had few goods to buy and I was walking around the shelves
in the food city to look for the items I want to buy. While I was busy with looking for
items, my friend who was jobless was busy with chatting with his girlfriend over Viber.
About 10 minutes passed and I saw a man wearing a dark blue shirt and a black trouser
is looking at me at the entrance. He was wearnign a brown colour jacket and an old
black fedora (hat). I was surprised as to why he is staring at me like this. I tried to
ignore it and continue shopping. After about 2 or 3 minutes, I again looked at the
entrance to see whether he has gone. Then, I saw that this man was talking to a middle-
aged lady in a light green frock and with a grey hair. The hand bag of that lady was
leather one. She seems to be bothered by something. There was a child standing close to
this lady and that child was playing with a green colour toy. The child very thin and
dirty. This man pointed a figure at me and told something to that woman who looked
really bothered by this man. After sometime, I saw that my friend is missing.
18. I tried to call him but his phone was switched off. I was really confused. I was
thinking whether there is any connecting between this man talking to the woman
and my friend suddenly gone out of the place. I was lost in thoughts for few
minutes and in the next moment I was surprised to see that the man is also missing
out of nowhere. I approached one of the service ladies in the right corner on the
right side of the entrance. She was looking very tired. She was wearing a silver
necklace and red colour ear rings. I asked her whether she saw my friend. She said
that he walked away from the place with a girl who came with her father. “That
father was looking at you as you came with him” she continued. I understand what
happened. He has met his girlfriend accidently and might have gone to “No limit”
for buying some clothes for New Year. Cursing him for what he did, I paid the bill
and walked out of Foodcity to look for a taxi. While I was looking around I saw that
man approaching me from distance. I quickly took a blue colour taxi driven by a
young person with a blue three-quarter trouser and a red T-shirt with a tattoo on
his right hand and a heavy nickel necklace around his neck. 18
