The document summarizes a classroom observation of a computer science class at Janamaitari Multiple Campus in Kathmandu, Nepal. It notes that the class had 15 students (9 male and 6 female) and was taught by Kamal Tamrakar on the topic of the software development life cycle. The observation analyzed various aspects of the class including planning, classroom climate, activities/methods, classroom management, time/resource management, and feedback mechanisms. Areas for improvement included maintaining command of sound, solving problems generally, developing confidence, managing the class and rapport, relating teaching to real life, and allowing more time for questions.

Lesson Plan for Effective lesson plenary -Prakash .A. NairprakashNair49
Dear Folks, Here you have a presentation of a lesson plan of how to go about a good plenary which is very essential for the good execution of a lesson.Plenaries are a fantastic opportunity to reflect, recap on and consolidate the learning that has happened in today’s lesson. They can also be used to introduce ideas that will be visited in the next lesson. Forming a bridge for continuous learning. Plenaries are often badly executed due to timing issues, sometimes caused by a relentless drive to squeeze too much content into one lesson. It is important to make sure that, at the end of the lesson, you allow time to bring everyone together to take part in an activity or a Q&A to reinforce the learning that has taken place and highlight the progress that has been made

Best Practices in Faculty Training for Computer-Based TestingExamSoft
Presented by Ashley Castleberry, PharmD, MAEd, Assistant Professor and Director of Assessment, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy.
Training faculty to use any type of new technology is a challenge. Despite ExamSoft’s user-friendly interface, some faculty will still struggle. Join this session to learn best practices in training faculty to use ExamSoft. After a quick overview of adult learning theory, participants will experience a 3-step process that can be used to help faculty discover, explore, and practice using the program. Using this 3-step approach, users experience the value of the program from a student perspective and then learn how to make those experiences happen for their own students.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
