Advantages And Disadvantages Of Trade Union In Malaysia
INTRODUCTION In the 20th century, trade unions is an important labour force through which
working people have a collective voice at work and an avenue to equality, fair treatment and economic
security. However, in the 21st century, it was argued that organised labour seems heading for
extinction (The Economist, 21 September 2006) as cited in Schnabel (2012). It seems that trade unions
in various countries, including Malaysia, are slowly declining its density and membership. Although
trade union has always been the main social institutions in societies represent worker interest, the
decline in membership in many countries since the 1970 s and its consequent weakening of trade

Madoff s The Great Ponzi Scheme
Mr. Madoff s crimes were extraordinarily evil. The breach of trust was massive. I simply do not get
the sense that Mr. Madoff has done all that he could or told all that he knows. These are all quotes
given by the US district attorney Denny Chin that give a mere glimpse into the horrible impact that
Bernie Madoff has had on 21st century American society. Madoff cheated investors worldwide in the
biggest Ponzi scheme in American history stealing over sixty five billion dollars from his clients .His
enormous ponzi scheme was essentially evil genius and because of this incredible con Madoff has

Small Cap Diaphragm
In the recording session, listening to all the tracks, I chose two different microphones from the MXL
800 series the large and the small caps diaphragm. Both microphones were condenser microphones.
Listening to both microphones at the track I discovered few interesting facts between them. First, I
mange to listen to the smaller cap both on the recorded hammer part of the piano and the recorded
strings and I find that both microphone had different sound. For the small cap that was recorded on the
hammer of the piano sound decent yet it sounded little muddy. It sounded like when it had an insert
plug in of a chorus or modulation that when the key was stroked the sound was aggressively vibrating,
the piano s sustain was little aggressive Picturing if there was a lot of sound waves combined together.
Also it sounded as if the piano was played in a small room which the sound sounded much tied. Next,
the smaller cap on string recording, sounded much more balanced. It sounded tied yet the every note
on the piano sounded realistic. Moreover, the dynamic range was wide enough that it was easy to
listen to especially it had good amount of bass and harmonics of the piano. The microphone sound
more open rather than narrow sound like the hammered one.
On the larger cap diaphragm condenser microphone on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The microphones produced many important elements such as larger diaphragms records more sound
of highs and lows yet I learned it has a disadvantage if it records too much sound for example on the
strings of the piano, it can sound very muddy and bombarded with different frequencies. Similarly
with small caps on hammers can cause trouble when concentrates too much on one area which it
becomes a dominant sound overall of the recording. Furthermore, this I came to acknowledge the fact
that Microphones compliment the artist when it position

What Is The Relationship Of Obedience To His Law
Introduction
Throughout our lives obedience to Gods will in all areas of our life can be a struggle. The people of
ancient Israel stood as testament to this. However Gods promise to the Israelites is seen in this passage
promising his blessings if they stood true to his law. This essay will explore the relationship between
obedience to the law and Gods blessing using Jacqueline Grey s Them, Us Me principle of looking at
the bible.
Them
The book of Deuteronomy was written while Israel was in a time of wandering the wilderness due to
disobedience. The 40 years of wandering were almost up and God was re affirming the covenant and
giving them the law that covered all areas of their lives. Right near the end of this massive book of
covenant law God promises in Deuteronomy 28 to bless the Israelites if they obeyed whole heartedly.
For ancient Israel, blessing flowed from obedience to God. The blessings are listed in the following
verses after the excerpt and they cover all parts of their life. However the fickleness of human strength
showed them getting complacent and laidback living in the blessing and disobeying the law. Through
this they would spiral down into disobedience, worshipping other gods to try and make up for the lack
of Gods blessing but only being cursed more. This would result in them eventually crying out to God
and being obedient again. This was a cycle that plagued Israel however Deuteronomy beautifully
closes the Pentateuch ...with its constant reminders

Analysis Of Neighbours By Tim Winton
How does Tim Winton s short story Neighbours explore the transition of individuals into new phases
of life and new social context?
New experiences shock and captivate readers consequently prompting a reassessment of their
perceptions of respect, truth and friendship. Tim Wintons short story Neighbours confronts individual
stereotypes through exploring the multicultural context in which the story is set. Winton explores the
transition of a young couple into a new phase of life by describing their move to a lower
socioeconomic suburb full of European migrants . The composer does not name the characters, rather
calls them the Macedonian Family and the Polish man , in order to show their cultural differences and

This is shown through the emotive language of people smiled tirelessly at them and the positive
connotations associated with verb presents . Winton challenges the audience to question their
individual perspective upon society s moral truths and forces the revaluation of the values of mateship.
The composer is critiquing Australia s fractured historical truth through confronting multiculturalism
in society. Furthermore, Winton explores aspects of cultural acceptance through showing the naivety
of the young couple . The young man and young women are symbolic of the lack of experience in the
world and leaves them open to develop and mature as they experience different aspects of the world.
Thus, composers confront widely held perspectives regarding mateship and acceptance to prompt a
revelation of Australia s multicultural society.
New experiences prompt individuals to reconsider their upheld values in the social context in which
they re placed. Tim Wintons short story, Neighbours questions Australia s social discourse by
exploring the transition of individuals into a new phase of life. Winton challenges society s ignorance
and cultural stereotypes by displaying a provocative new experience which has the ability to
manipulate and change individuals perspectives. Society s ignorance can be

Self Hypnosis Vs Subliminal Messages
Both self hypnosis and subliminal messages recordings use the subconscious mind to bring about
positive change in a persons life. There are all types of self hypnosis downloads as well as subliminal
messages recordings for all types of positive life changes.
Self hypnosis can be used without a recording or download. whereas subliminal messages will need to
be either embedded as spoken words in a recording, words in a video, or words flashed upon a screen
like your computer monitor.
Because self hypnosis, once learned, can be used anytime, anywhere, it may be the chosen strategy for
positive change using your subconscious mind and positive suggestions. This is not to say that using
subliminal messages for change is wrong. It just means

greatest songwriter. While the heart of the show is centered on the life and times of Irving Berlin,
impoverished Russian immigrant turned songwriter, it also addresses various political and social
issues such as anti Semitism, anti patriotism, racism, poverty, and classism issues this nation still

Metaphors In The King James Bible

Metaphors in the King James Bible The King James Bible is a translation of the Bible. Older
translations were more difficult to comprehend. As a result, King James demanded that a new
translation be made to better accommodate the readers. In this translation, metaphors and other literary
devices are presented. In the King James Bible, metaphors are used to provide examples of God s
teachings, to help the audience obtain a better understanding of the text, and to evoke readers into
remembering the wise expressions displayed.
Metaphors, in the King James Bible, are considered to be examples of God s teaching. For example,

Roman Twelve Tables
The Roman republic had set a specific set of laws that each person was suppose to abide by. These set
of laws were known as the Twelve Tables. After reading the selections from the Twelve Tables, I
gather that the Roman society was very strict and harsh, and its conception of justice was more based
on punishment than it was on negotiating the situation and coming to a clear resolution. The Romans
were more blunt with their punishments, they saw black and white , no grey area when making
decisions in court, which means that everything was a yes or no, no one person had the opportunity to
talk about any of their crimes, it was straight to punishment, or if they were found to be not guilty then
they were not punished. In Table IV : Rights of Head of Family, it expresses just how cruel they were,
Quickly kill... a dreadfully deformed child (Spielvogel p. 116). In my opinion, this law is wicked
because no one should be killed just because of the way that they look, especially if they were born
that way and can not help it. Before the Twelve Tables, there were major problems and struggles. Both
of the groups, patricians and plebeians, were able to vote, but only the patricians were granted the
right to be elected to government positions. They were both able to make legal agreements and have
marriages, but it was forbidden for a patrician and a plebeian to intermarry. There was conflict amongst
Rome because everyone wanted the right to be equal, and they were not being treated

Fight Club Consumerism
David Fincher s film, Fight Club (1999), puts the internal struggles for meaning that heterosexual
white men experience within today s society into motion. Charles Guignon examines the film s violent
and sexual factors as well as how they pose a meaningful appeal to violence, primarily, in the young
men of our society. Moreover, the film stirs up a fascination with violence that many of us may feel,
an attraction to inflicting pain and experiencing pain ourselves (35). Through concepts of absent
fathers, consumerism and an aimless being, Fight Club platforms a provocative view on how men in
modern society have lost their identity through emasculation and the extremely disturbing activities
they combat in order to find it again. Fight Club asserts the path to finding one s meaning is not simple
and, in turn, develops into a despairing and inconclusive struggle. The excessive consumerism in the
film signifies a sign of emotional emptiness. The film provides the viewer extensive knowledge on
contemporary American society by raising important questions about the embraced values in that
society. With the struggle for finding meaning and the prevalent masculine identity crisis manifested
in Fight Club, why do some men s daily lives fail to satisfy them in contemporary society? And
correspondingly, how is the main character, Edward Norton, truly nameless?
In Fight Club, Ed Norton s character, let his name be the Narrator. In the very beginning of the film,

The Brand Of Clothing On Female Consumers By Buying Behavior
In this dissertation, we focus on discovering the influence of the brand of clothing on female
consumers by buying behavior in Pakistan.
A. Branding Concept
The brand for years has been used as a means to differentiate and specify the goods of one producer of
the goods of another. Ambler (1992) defines the brand as the promise of the packages of attributes that
someone buys and provides satisfaction. The attributes that make up a brand can be real or deceitful,
rational or emotional, tangible or invisible. fashion Fashion can be conceptualized as both an object
and a behavioral process fashion object refers to a specific object, such as a specific clothing item,
That is to say, dress that can have functional utility as a characteristic, but in general the acceptance of
objects occurs due to the quality that the fashion process is characterized by the introduction of a
fashionable innovation to a social system composed of potential adopters, First object is adopted by
fashion leaders, then diffused through a particular social system and is accepted by a large number of
members of that social system and finally the eventual decline in acceptance of the fashion object
occurs Due to change in popularity of the existing fashion object to a newer one.
Name of the brand
It shows the origin of the product / product and helps the conscious customers to differentiate the
brand or product from their competitors. It also creates consumer awareness about the brand. The

Exposing the child to different activities, cultures and ways of life helps them better understand the
world around them. Once they become old enough to experience the real world, they will encounter
several opinions from diverse groups of people. To not expose all aspects of life to them as a child,
makes it that much harder for them to adapt once they are older. For a child to be well rounded they
need to understand ideas and thoughts from multiple point of views. One perfect example of sheltering
children is my aunt and uncle s Family. They believe in not letting their kids out except for school or
school related activities. They only use the computer for school and work, and cellphones are only
used when outside the house in the event they need to contact family members. Given, they are

colleges, but till this day they continue to struggle in the area of communication. Their minuscule
friends circle stays small, they haven t dated or even gone on many dates; their human interaction time

The Pros And Cons Of Memory Problems
When people think of memory problems, their first thought is probably forgetting. However, that is
just a small portion of memory problems as a whole. For example, in a study done at Boston
University, students were shown a set of pictures of situations such as a careless student leaning back
in his chair, a man taking an orange from the bottom of the pile, and a grocery bag ripping and spilling
groceries. 68% of the students involved in the experiment claimed they remembered seeing the so
called cause picture of the bag ripping. The problem was that there was no cause photo for the spilled
groceries. When the students saw the effect and not the cause, they made an assumption. This proved
that inferences can cause us to think we remember something that never actually happened. Therefore,
memories can actually be illusions. Recent memory research has focused on why we have memory
problems such as remembering the first letter of a word but not the whole word. A ... Show more

Suggestibility is when people mix up personal memory with second hand information. According to
Schacter, leading questions and encouraging feedback can result in altered memories of events that
never took place. In fact, suggestibility can even lead to false eyewitness testimonies. For example, a
psychologist named Gary Wells from Iowa University showed a group of volunteers a video of a man
entering a store, and then told them that the man killed a security guard. When he and his colleagues
showed the volunteers some photos and asked them to identify the man, who was not in any of the
photos, he told some of them that they identified the correct man. The students who were encouraged
later stated that the encouragement caused them to be more confident in their recall of the man. The
positive feedback not only made them more confident in their memory of the man, but also caused
them to forget any uncertainty they originally had about their identification of the

The strategy of offering free food to the poor will require minimal investment since the company is

register all of them using the help of the local authorities. The beneficiaries will be issued with cards
that will allow them to access the service at any outlet of the company. This will ensure that the
company s activities are not interrupted, as the beneficiaries will be served just like any other
customers. The supply of the foodstuffs to be used will be derived from the company s stores; this will
ensure that the consumables on the company s shelves are always fresh. Additionally, the company

on the expenses, the company will encourage part time volunteer services to help with the preparation
and serving of the foodstuffs. The company is already operating a food store, and therefore, the need

Introduction There once was a time where words like light and low fat on food packages that had no
nutritional meaning. As a result, shoppers were often led to believe they were buying products that
were more helpful than they really were. Nutrition panels on labels were also confusing and hard to

defined new standardized terms that appear on food labels such as low fat , reduced and lean to control
how food manufacturers could put their facts that are relevant to most of our dietary needs. This

The Gastrointestinal System
Digestion occurs mainly in the gut, formally known as the gastrointestinal (GI) system. Organs in the
GI system include the stomach, small and large intestines as well as accessory organs such as the liver,
gall bladder and pancreas. Accessory organs are known to provide secretions into the GI tract. These
secretions include digestive juices that enter the gut by glands, including salivary glands, gastric
glands in the stomach wall, pancreas and wall of the small intestine. Gastrin is a peptide hormone that
stimulates secretion of gastric acid by the parietal cells of the stomach and helps gastric motility
(Dimaline and Varro, 2014). It is important due to acid production in the stomach for dissolving and

following ingestion. Primary functions of CCK also include stimulation of pancreatic secretion and
gallbladder contraction, regulation of gastric emptying, and induction of satiety (Liddle, 1997). Thus,
CCK is first in rank due to its contribution in regulating ingestion, digestion, and absorption of

Astrology Influence On Renaissance
Astrology is the use of the relative positions of celestial objects to predict events on Earth. It is an
ancient field of study, having been in use thousands of years before common era. Cultures around the
world had been looking to the skies for forecasts on happenings in their everyday lives long before
Europeans began to do so. In Europe, astrology never established itself as a large influence on society
until the Renaissance came around, mostly due to the strict Catholic principles that bound people to a
particular set of beliefs. Prior to the Renaissance, according to the Encyclopedia of the Renaissance by
Paul F. Grendler, astrology was often condemned as determinist or unreliable or irreligious. However,
as the Renaissance unfolded, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, it was in most people s best interest to know whatever information the astrologers could
provide. Will the season be wet? Will there be a drought? Astrological signs provided the only answer.
As a result, astrology had an enormous impact on agriculture. In fact, understanding cosmic
phenomena became so important that, according to Renaissance and Reformation by Marshall
Cavendish, it was commonplace for each and every family to own a farmer s almanac for each year, a
book that contained basic astrological data and its connections to potential weather patterns for the
coming season. These almanacs were cheap and hugely popular hundreds of thousands were sold each
year (Cavendish 68). For those who wanted a more personalized analysis, a certain sum of money
could be paid for an expert to provide his own instruction. All in all, the alignment of the stars had a
huge influence over Renaissance farmers, who were willing to adjust their practices according to the
forecasts made by

Minoan Mycenaean Weapons
The Minoan and Mycenaean cultures lived among the later Greeks far after they were gone. There are
many things in their culture used by the later Greeks. The biggest things carried on by the Greeks were
the advancements in technology by the Minoan and Mycenaean people. Let me explain in more detail
what technology they helped the Greeks to get better at over time. Weapons Bronze was the preferred
meatal for weapons before the Minoan and Mycenaean people. The use of tin, copper, silver, and gold
were used by them as well. These metals were readily available to the Minoan and Mycenaean people
in mines and deposits in the Mediterranean basin. Except for tin which came from the British Isles.
The weapons of choice for the Minoan and Mycenaean people were daggers, swords, spears, and
javelins. These weapons allowed them to defend themselves any way possible. Defending themselves
with weapons were not the only things they created with these metals. The Minoan and Mycenaean
people created body armor such as shields, helmets, and leg and arm coverings. The body armor was
just as important as the weapons. Now the people have an opportunity to protect their body, and have
a higher chance of survival when taking a blow to the body (Matthews, ... Show more content on

The chariot was a light vehicle, usually on two wheels, and drawn by one or more horses. The chariots
usually carried two standing riders, a driver and a fighter using bow and arrow or javelins. These
chariots were used in war, and used in hunting as well. These chariots were just the beginning, and
improvements were just around the corner. By 1300 BCE the chariots were redesigned to have six
wheel spokes instead of only four and the adding of axles under the rear platform. The addition of the
axles underneath the rear platform enhanced the stability and maneuverability of the chariots

Holden As An Unreliable Narrator In The Catcher In The Rye
It is established early on in The Catcher in the Rye that Holden is an unreliable narrator. This
especially plays a large role in how the book can be interpreted because Holden tells the story in any
way he wants including choosing what the audience can see. With what information is given in the
beginning it can be inferred that the protagonist was sent away to recover from, this madman stuff that
happened to me around Christmas just before I got pretty run down and had to come here and take it
easy, (Ch 1.) Most of the revelations about Holden s past are not presented in a chronological manner
and are instead presented as he is reminded of them.
Hol
den is a middle child being the second born out of his four siblings. This does not dictate or
predetermine how his life will be like but it can play a large role in how he fits into his family. He
greatly respects his older brother DB which can be gathered when he says that his brother is his
favorite author but also criticized him and deems him a phony for having a career out in hollywood.
This can also be taken as jealousy as some children might have of their older siblings who seem more
successful in life. While he loves his older brother there is an underlying resentment because he might
be pressured to follow in his brother s footsteps but instead rebels. While Hol
den tells the story in a
higher than thou sort of way you can see moments of weakness and insecurity when he puts himself
down by saying things like in the

Water and Fire Compare and Contrast
Water and Fire Water and fire, two very different elements. But, What really makes these two elements
different? Fire burns. It is used to hurt and to kill, but it can also be used for heat and for light. Water
soothes. It is used to revive people who are sick and to help to cool off in a hot summer day, but it can
it be used for torture and to drown living things. In spite of all of their differences they do have three
things in common Oxygen, they both kill, and they are both necessary for survival. Fire, it was
discovered by the ancient caveman and has been used for many things including heat. The cavemen

nights to stay warm. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Oxygen and without it water would just be 2 molecules of Hydrogen. Another similarity between them
is that they can both kill. Fire is probably more likely to kill you by

Gun Violence in Missouri
Missouri is an amazing state, full of interesting sights and sounds. There is the towering, metal Saint
Louis Arch. The massive and beautiful Union Station. The large wheat fields, the long flowing
Missouri river, and the large, beautiful Ozarks forests. Missouri, even after these things, like any
states, is not perfect. Unlike some states however, Missouri has many flaws that can very easily be
fixed, but the problem is that Missouri government is not doing much to stop it, one of the biggest
problems being gun control. We are losing so many lives in major shootings at schools. The part that
makes me mad is that after mourning the loss for a bit, we move on, forgetting the tragedy left behind.
Missouri is not being very strict about these gun laws, and it is hurting us in the social look from other
states, and making us seem like a state that doesn t care. We need to take control of these gun laws to
make Missouri a safer place. To begin, Missouri is one of the worst states for gun control laws. The
Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence gave Missouri an F for gun violence, and out of all the states
Missouri ranked 39th out of 50 having enacted few gun violence prevention laws. ( Missouri State
Law Summary. ) The thing is, that Missouri HAS disallowed the permit to purchase, the registration,
and the licensing to owners of all guns. The problem is, is that even though you are not allowed to
carry a rifle or shotgun around, you can carry a handgun around, which is what has

Marva Collins Case Study
Educators require just books, a board, and a couple of legs that will last the day, Marva Collins told
Dan Hurley in 50 Plus magazine. These three things were basically all that Collins had when she
opened the Westside Preparatory School in Chicago, Illinois, in 1975 with the $5,000 she had added to
her benefits subsidize. Frustrated in the wake of instructing in the state funded educational system for
a long time, Collins chose to leave and open a school that would welcome understudies who had been
dismisses by different schools and marked problematic and closed off. She had seen an excessive
number of kids go through an insufficient educational system in which they were given indifferent
instructors, some of whom came to class artificially debilitated.
A firm adherent to the estimation of an instructor s chance gone through with an understudy, Collins
dismisses the idea that the best approach to take care of the issues confronted by U.S. schools was to

Late in 1980 Collins was considered for the post of secretary of instruction by U.S. President Ronald
Reagan. Liking to keep instructing and running her school, Collins reported that she would not
acknowledge the position on the off chance that it were offered to her. She trusted that she could have
a greater effect by working with the kids in Chicago than she could by inundating herself in the
printed material the occupation in Washington, D.C., would without a doubt bring. The Chicago
school board and the Los Angeles County educational system additionally offered her positions. Once

Describe and Analyse a Subculture with Which You Are Familiar
Describe and analyse a subculture with which you are familiar.
The definition of a subculture is a culture within a culture where a group develops distinctive norms
and values that are different from those of the mainstream culture.
The subculture that I will be writing about is called the Fan Base which is also know as the Fandom.
A fan base or fandom is a group of regular supporters and enthusiasts that spend a rather large amount
of time and energy focussing on a team, musician or musical group, entertainer or any other celebrity;
these different people/groups can be classed as sort of a leader or main person that holds the group
together.
Fan bases do not majorly differ from mainstream cultures when it comes to values ... Show more

Also, for many fan bases there are expectations for each fan to have some form of social networking
account so then they can communicate with other fans. Websites such as Twitter, Facebook and
Tumblr would be the main examples of ways to communicate between fans. For music based
fandoms, there is the expectation of having to be at concerts, signings, radio tours and any other
events that the musician/band they follow attend.
For fan bases there is not necessarily a method for learning the groups rules or norms as you become
part of a fan base by simply having something common with another fan, so liking the same band or
television show, having the same dedication toward a team or band and so on. This means that you are
automatically accepted as part of the group, however a lot of fans get agitated when fans that are part
of their fandom decide to move fandoms as they see it as a sort of betrayal to their leader , this can
lead to unruly behaviour and many arguments within the fan base itself.
This kind of subculture emerged originally in the 1960s when pop music first arrived on the scene. It
was during a time when teenagers wanted to rebel against the system or just wanted be different to
everyone else and this kind of music allowed them to do so. The first fan bases came about because of
groups like The Rolling Stones and the Beatles, these particular groups especially had an impact on
mainstream culture as many teenagers spent a

The Apple Inc. Company
Research The Apple Inc. is a multinational corporation that creates electronics, personal computers,
computer software, and commercial servers, and is a distributor of media content. The company also
sells and delivers digital content through iTunes and the App store. The founders of Apple are Steve
Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. Apple was founded April 1st, 1976, and incorporated
January 3rd, 1977 in Cupertino, California. To learn about the history of Apple, it was important for
me to know the history of the company, the products they first established, how their technology
influenced the world, and how Apple increased stock exchanges in the stock market. Apple initially
began with Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak dropping out of college during the same year and then
attending meetings at the Homebrew Computer Club. Wozniak had completed a machine called the
6800, later known as the Apple I . He had began showing Jobs the technology and wanted to know if
he was interested in the commercial potential of small hobby machines. Joined by another friend,
Ronald Wayne, the three started to build the Apple I. Eventually, the first 200 of the Apple I s were
built ( Apple Incorporation ). The Apple I was a personal computer that was hand built by Steve
Wozniak and was Apple s first product. The founders of Apple were Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and
Ronald Wayne. Steven Paul Jobs was born in San Francisco on February 24th, 1955. In 1972 Jobs

Internet Censorship in China Essay
In the United States, every child, teenager and adult uses Wikipedia, YouTube and Facebook, among
numerous other sites, regularly. The internet is open and uncensored for the most part, other than
parental controls. In China, most, if not all of those types of sites are or have been blocked. As in, you
could not go to them, unless you found some way around the web filters and firewalls the Chinese
government runs in their country. While China defends their practice of internet censorship, based on
protecting the people, heavy internet censorship is a block to free speech and impedes economic and
social development in the 21st century. China says it has its reasons for censoring its internet. Wang
Chen, minister for the State Council ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The aim is to tighten political control and get Internet users to censor themselves by bringing them
face to face with their censors or their agents. (Anonymous) Reporters without Boarders further talked
of why these regulations present a new block for free speech. What Netizen will dare to criticize the
regime after meeting the person who could put them behind bars for one wrong word? (Anonymous)
Reporters Without Borders is further stating that someone who might talk about something the
government might find questionable will not do it at all if that person is met by someone who could
put them in prison. On the other hand, the US does not actively regulate the internet, relying on the
public to regulate content on the internet, with little government intervention. The internet in the US is
relatively open, whereas in China, information on the internet is suppressed based on what the Chinese
government deems appropriate or inappropriate. Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State, has stated,
Countries that heavily censor the Net are creating a new Information Curtain to rival the old Iron
Curtain of the Cold War era. (Anderson) Clinton talked more of the US s position on internet
censorship. Further, New technologies do not take sides, said Clinton. But the United States does. The
US supports an open internet. (Anderson)
Corporations that move into China have long recognized that internet censorship is a fact of life. In

adventures whether you want to relax or experience challenges. Are you ready to escape the city life?
If you are ready to escape the city, the LA river is a great place to go kayaking if you want to see the
wildlife that calls it home. If you enjoy the hustle and bustle, even while kayaking, you may enjoy
visiting the Marina del Rey, California s busiest harbor. You simply have to watch out for boats. Relax
and enjoy seeing dolphins and other aquatic animals in Long Beach s Alamitos Bay. If you do not own
a kayak, you can still take advantage of this area thanks to kayak rentals. Another very popular area
for sea life viewing is the Channel Islands. However, when you venture here, you should definitely not
be a beginner in the world of kayaking because the conditions of the water can change rapidly from
calm to rough. If natural wonders appeal to your senses, you can visit La Jolla where there are
amazing cliffs that offer some truly unexpected beauty. It is where pirates once hid and sharks or sea

Both microphones were condenser microphones. Listening to both microphones at the track I discovered few interesting facts between them. First, I mange to listen to the smaller cap both on the recorded hammer part of the piano and the recorded strings and I find that both microphone had different sound. For the small cap that was recorded on the hammer of the piano sound decent yet it sounded little muddy. It sounded like when it had an insert plug in of a chorus or modulation that when the key was stroked the sound was aggressively vibrating, the piano s sustain was little aggressive Picturing if there was a lot of sound waves combined together. Also it sounded as if the piano was played in a small room which the sound sounded much tied. Next, the smaller cap on string recording, sounded much more balanced. It sounded tied yet the every note on the piano sounded realistic. Moreover, the dynamic range was wide enough that it was easy to listen to especially it had good amount of bass and harmonics of the piano. • 6. What Is The Relationship Of Obedience To His Law Introduction Throughout our lives obedience to Gods will in all areas of our life can be a struggle. The people of ancient Israel stood as testament to this. However Gods promise to the Israelites is seen in this passage promising his blessings if they stood true to his law. This essay will explore the relationship between obedience to the law and Gods blessing using Jacqueline Grey s Them, Us Me principle of looking at the bible. Them The book of Deuteronomy was written while Israel was in a time of wandering the wilderness due to disobedience. The 40 years of wandering were almost up and God was re affirming the covenant and giving them the law that covered all areas of their lives. Right near the end of this massive book of covenant law God promises in Deuteronomy 28 to bless the Israelites if they obeyed whole heartedly. For ancient Israel, blessing flowed from obedience to God. The blessings are listed in the following verses after the excerpt and they cover all parts of their life. However the fickleness of human strength showed them getting complacent and laidback living in the blessing and disobeying the law. Through this they would spiral down into disobedience, worshipping other gods to try and make up for the lack of Gods blessing but only being cursed more. This would result in them eventually crying out to God and being obedient again. This was a cycle that plagued Israel however Deuteronomy beautifully closes the Pentateuch ...with its constant reminders ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Roman Twelve Tables The Roman republic had set a specific set of laws that each person was suppose to abide by. These set of laws were known as the Twelve Tables. After reading the selections from the Twelve Tables, I gather that the Roman society was very strict and harsh, and its conception of justice was more based on punishment than it was on negotiating the situation and coming to a clear resolution. The Romans were more blunt with their punishments, they saw black and white , no grey area when making decisions in court, which means that everything was a yes or no, no one person had the opportunity to talk about any of their crimes, it was straight to punishment, or if they were found to be not guilty then they were not punished. In Table IV : Rights of Head of Family, it expresses just how cruel they were, Quickly kill... a dreadfully deformed child (Spielvogel p. 116). In my opinion, this law is wicked because no one should be killed just because of the way that they look, especially if they were born that way and can not help it. Before the Twelve Tables, there were major problems and struggles. Both of the groups, patricians and plebeians, were able to vote, but only the patricians were granted the right to be elected to government positions. Charles Guignon examines the film s violent and sexual factors as well as how they pose a meaningful appeal to violence, primarily, in the young men of our society. Moreover, the film stirs up a fascination with violence that many of us may feel, an attraction to inflicting pain and experiencing pain ourselves (35). Through concepts of absent fathers, consumerism and an aimless being, Fight Club platforms a provocative view on how men in modern society have lost their identity through emasculation and the extremely disturbing activities they combat in order to find it again. Fight Club asserts the path to finding one s meaning is not simple and, in turn, develops into a despairing and inconclusive struggle. The excessive consumerism in the film signifies a sign of emotional emptiness. The film provides the viewer extensive knowledge on contemporary American society by raising important questions about the embraced values in that society. However, as the Renaissance unfolded, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, it was in most people s best interest to know whatever information the astrologers could provide. Will the season be wet? Will there be a drought? Astrological signs provided the only answer. As a result, astrology had an enormous impact on agriculture. In fact, understanding cosmic phenomena became so important that, according to Renaissance and Reformation by Marshall Cavendish, it was commonplace for each and every family to own a farmer s almanac for each year, a book that contained basic astrological data and its connections to potential weather patterns for the coming season. These almanacs were cheap and hugely popular hundreds of thousands were sold each year (Cavendish 68). • 25. Minoan Mycenaean Weapons The Minoan and Mycenaean cultures lived among the later Greeks far after they were gone. There are many things in their culture used by the later Greeks. The biggest things carried on by the Greeks were the advancements in technology by the Minoan and Mycenaean people. Let me explain in more detail what technology they helped the Greeks to get better at over time. Weapons Bronze was the preferred meatal for weapons before the Minoan and Mycenaean people. The use of tin, copper, silver, and gold were used by them as well. These metals were readily available to the Minoan and Mycenaean people in mines and deposits in the Mediterranean basin. Except for tin which came from the British Isles. The weapons of choice for the Minoan and Mycenaean people were daggers, swords, spears, and javelins. These weapons allowed them to defend themselves any way possible. Defending themselves with weapons were not the only things they created with these metals. The Minoan and Mycenaean people created body armor such as shields, helmets, and leg and arm coverings. The body armor was just as important as the weapons. • 26. Holden As An Unreliable Narrator In The Catcher In The Rye It is established early on in The Catcher in the Rye that Holden is an unreliable narrator. This especially plays a large role in how the book can be interpreted because Holden tells the story in any way he wants including choosing what the audience can see. With what information is given in the beginning it can be inferred that the protagonist was sent away to recover from, this madman stuff that happened to me around Christmas just before I got pretty run down and had to come here and take it easy, (Ch 1.) Most of the revelations about Holden s past are not presented in a chronological manner and are instead presented as he is reminded of them. Hol den is a middle child being the second born out of his four siblings. This does not dictate or predetermine how his life will be like but it can play a large role in how he fits into his family. He greatly respects his older brother DB which can be gathered when he says that his brother is his favorite author but also criticized him and deems him a phony for having a career out in hollywood. This can also be taken as jealousy as some children might have of their older siblings who seem more successful in life. While he loves his older brother there is an underlying resentment because he might be pressured to follow in his brother s footsteps but instead rebels. While Hol den tells the story in a higher than thou sort of way you can see moments of weakness and insecurity when he puts himself down by saying things like in the ... • 29. Gun Violence in Missouri Missouri is an amazing state, full of interesting sights and sounds. There is the towering, metal Saint Louis Arch. The massive and beautiful Union Station. The large wheat fields, the long flowing Missouri river, and the large, beautiful Ozarks forests. Missouri, even after these things, like any states, is not perfect. Unlike some states however, Missouri has many flaws that can very easily be fixed, but the problem is that Missouri government is not doing much to stop it, one of the biggest problems being gun control. We are losing so many lives in major shootings at schools. The part that makes me mad is that after mourning the loss for a bit, we move on, forgetting the tragedy left behind. Missouri is not being very strict about these gun laws, and it is hurting us in the social look from other states, and making us seem like a state that doesn t care. We need to take control of these gun laws to make Missouri a safer place. To begin, Missouri is one of the worst states for gun control laws. The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence gave Missouri an F for gun violence, and out of all the states Missouri ranked 39th out of 50 having enacted few gun violence prevention laws. ( Missouri State Law Summary. ) The thing is, that Missouri HAS disallowed the permit to purchase, the registration, and the licensing to owners of all guns. These three things were basically all that Collins had when she opened the Westside Preparatory School in Chicago, Illinois, in 1975 with the $5,000 she had added to her benefits subsidize. Frustrated in the wake of instructing in the state funded educational system for a long time, Collins chose to leave and open a school that would welcome understudies who had been dismisses by different schools and marked problematic and closed off. She had seen an excessive number of kids go through an insufficient educational system in which they were given indifferent instructors, some of whom came to class artificially debilitated. • 32. Describe and Analyse a Subculture with Which You Are Familiar Describe and analyse a subculture with which you are familiar. The definition of a subculture is a culture within a culture where a group develops distinctive norms and values that are different from those of the mainstream culture. The subculture that I will be writing about is called the Fan Base which is also know as the Fandom. A fan base or fandom is a group of regular supporters and enthusiasts that spend a rather large amount of time and energy focussing on a team, musician or musical group, entertainer or any other celebrity; these different people/groups can be classed as sort of a leader or main person that holds the group together. Fan bases do not majorly differ from mainstream cultures when it comes to values ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, for many fan bases there are expectations for each fan to have some form of social networking account so then they can communicate with other fans. Websites such as Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr would be the main examples of ways to communicate between fans. For music based fandoms, there is the expectation of having to be at concerts, signings, radio tours and any other events that the musician/band they follow attend. For fan bases there is not necessarily a method for learning the groups rules or norms as you become part of a fan base by simply having something common with another fan, so liking the same band or television show, having the same dedication toward a team or band and so on. This means that you are automatically accepted as part of the group, however a lot of fans get agitated when fans that are part of their fandom decide to move fandoms as they see it as a sort of betrayal to their leader , this can lead to unruly behaviour and many arguments within the fan base itself. This kind of subculture emerged originally in the 1960s when pop music first arrived on the scene. It was during a time when teenagers wanted to rebel against the system or just wanted be different to everyone else and this kind of music allowed them to do so. The first fan bases came about because of groups like The Rolling Stones and the Beatles, these particular groups especially had an impact on mainstream culture as many teenagers spent a ...
