INTRODUCTION
Cholera is a tropical disease that causes critical dehydration. The bacterium, which can be found in
contaminated water or food, produces the toxin that causes unusual fluid secretion (1). Even though
cholera still causes several deaths, about 80% of the cases can be treated with rehydration therapy (2).
In 2013, America had the highest number of cholera cases (Figure 1).
Figure 1: Cholera cases reported to WHO by year and continent 1989 2013 (World Health
Organization, 2014) The causal agent of cholera is called Vibrio cholerae (Figure 2), which is a Gram
negative bacillus from the genus Vibrionaceae. The bacterium moves by a polar flagellum. Even with
a high number of strains described, only the serotypes O139 and O1 can cause cholera (3).
Figure 2: Vibrio cholerae (Kirn et al, 2000) The cholera toxin (also called choleragen) is a protein that
activates adenylate cyclase. Being an enterotoxin, this protein affects the membrane permeability of
intestinal wall cells (4). The protein was first purified in 1969 and it is composed by two types of
subunits, with one being the binding type of subunit (B) and other being the toxic active type of
subunit (A) (5). The B type has a mass of 64 kDa, which is about 67% of the total protein mass. It is

Final Paper Wrestling is one of the oldest sports in the world. No one is sure who invented the sport
but it was first implemented as a real sport in the first Olympics in the year 776 B.C. The origins of
wrestling can be traced back 15,000 years through cave drawings in France; Babylonian and Egyptian
relief s show wrestlers using most of the holds known to the present day sport. More modern day
wrestling has weight classes implemented so participants will wrestle people that weigh the same as
them, thus starting a trend known in the wrestling world as cutting weight. Weight classes in wrestling
were implemented in order to insure the optimal amount of fairness for each wrestler before they step
out onto the mat. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Modified wrestling is the same way, no set weight classes just the roughly the same size. But then
high school wrestling started, there are set weight classes and they are extremely strict on how it need
to be done. In the beginning of each season there is a process that is known as weight certification.
What you have to do for that is pass the hydration test, get your body fat checked and then weigh in.
After all that is done your body fat and weight are put into a formula that checks to see what the
lowest possible weight class you can wrestle is with having a healthy amount of body fat. They
hydration test is extremely important, if you are not hydrated you cannot certify until a later date. You
have to pee in a cup and then the instructor puts the pee into a Refractometer and it measures the
absolute weight of the urine and if it s over 1.025 you pass, anything less you fail and have to retry.
They do this test so kids can t suck ridicules amounts of weight, this makes the sport a little bit more
healthy I suppose. This new certification process was implanted in 2006 to help insure the safety of
the participants (Funk). Every year in high school I wrestled in the 119 weight class. My freshman
year my coach/team wanted me to wrestle 103 but I did not pass the hydration test and I just couldn t
make the weight. It was an unrealistic weight class and there was just no way to do

The Issue Of Annexation Movements Inside Canada
Isn t it sad to see a Parliament building burnt on the night of April 25th, 1849 to mark as one of our
historical importance of establishing Canada? The definition of annexation is to take over and
acquiring another state. Usually, it is implied that the territory and population being annexed is the
smaller and the weakest of the two merging state. By definition, Manifesto is a public declaration of
policy and aims. Annexation movements inside Canada were usually inspired by dissatisfaction with
Britain s colonial government of Canada. For example, a groups of Irish immigrants took the route of
attempting to annex the peninsula between the Detroit and Niagara Rivers to the U.S. by force in 1837
1838. The War of 1812 built up hatred overtime between the Americans and the British. But as a
result, there were no territorial changes. Another significant event before the Annexation Manifesto
was the Rebellion of 1837. It caused a backfire which led to a massive violence when Lower and
Upper Canada took arms to achieve a responsible government. Although the Rebellions of 1837 were
motivated in part by this type of dissatisfaction, Canadian resentment of British rule never reached the
degree that led to the American Revolution in 1775. Notably, Canada s population grew rapidly in the
late 18th and early 19th centuries. Canada s population grew due to United Empire Loyalists, who left
the American colonies during the Revolution because of their loyalty to Great Britain. In

Bacon s Rebellion
There are many things that shaped the experience of enslaved people. One of the main forces that
caused slavery to be so common was the simple fact that there were no laws to control or prohibit
slavery. For many farms and industries, having slaves was very profitable because once the farm or
company was done with the slave, they could resell them. It is also the simple fact that slaves were
free labor. Bacon s Rebellion in 1676 also changed the lives of many enslaved people. Bacon had
promised freedom to anyone who joined his army. However, this promise was short lived. In ore to
avoid anymore outbursts or rebellions of the former slaves, the Virginia authorities pushed the slaves
whom would never again be free to the tobacco fields and

The Impact Of Multiculturalism In Canada
Multiculturalism is the act of giving equivalent consideration regarding various foundations in a
specific setting, and it can happen when a purview is made or extended by amalgamating zones with
two or more diverse societies or through migration from various locales around the globe.
Multiculturalism that seeks in keeping up the peculiarity of numerous societies is regularly
differentiated to other settlement arrangements, for example, social mix, social osmosis, and racial
isolation. Multiculturalism has been depicted as a salad bowl and cultural mosaic (Burgess, et al.
2005). In spite of the way that multiculturalism has predominantly been utilized as a term to
characterize distraught gatherings, numerous scholars tend to center their contentions on outsiders
who are ethnic and religious minorities, minority countries, and indigenous people groups. The term
multiculturalism is frequently utilized as a part of a reference to Western country states, which ...

Comics Ethos Pathos Logos
Comics as Resource for ELT Educators
Comics, a medium used to express ideas via images and pictures, can be traced back to the cave
period when humans communicated ideas and thoughts using paintings and pictures. However, as
humans began to use words to communicate with one another, paintings and pictures as a mode of
communication took a backseat. They began to be used only for visual impact whenever needed. In
course of time, other than oral communication, written communication and print media were
considered effective means of communication. Various genre like novels, poems, short stories, essays
were all realized and accepted by scholars as resources to be used when educating children and adults.

those comics and express their views on their words and behavior. This can also be followed with a
group discussion session about the various aspects like setting, place time when the comic was
written, the history behind that work etc.
Comics to Improve Learners Creativity and Innovation
Students may be given a comic sequence and they can be asked continue and go on to build their own
story. Students may come up with varied ideas, thoughts and conception. They can either be asked to
make comic strips or write an essay. This would help facilitators to improve learners creative writing
skills and also encourage students to be innovative and novel in their approach. The visuals when
displayed would definitely arouse laughter and this would make learning enjoyable and effective.
Comics Expose Students to Society
Comics which are satirical in nature and criticize the ways of the world or the people may be sued by
the facilitator to expose students to the socio political realities of the times. They also help students
understand the times the comics depict and enable students to know the history of those times. Some
of these comics also caricature humans and reveal their follies and foibles. These make students

An Age Of Religious Complexity
Every age has its own characteristics. Right now we are in an age of religious complexity. The
simplicity which is in Christ is rarely found among us. In its stead are programs, methods,
organizations, and a world of nervous activities which occupy time and attention but can never satisfy
the longing of the heart. The shallowness of our inner experience, the hollowness of our worship, and
that servile imitation of the world which marks our promotional methods all testify that we, in this da,
know God only imperfectly, and the peace of God scarcely at all.
Simplicity. What makes it so difficult to achieve? Today s society can see the need for focused clarity.
Because of the world s hyper complexity, simplicity has become a coveted ideal. ... Show more

The second is like is: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these
two commandments. Jesus summed up 613 commands into two. He took the complexity of the Law
and stripped it down to the very core. He made obeying the Law of the Lord easier to understand
through the accessibility of simplicity. Churches today must follow Jesus example and seek simplicity.
The individuals that make up a church are builders. These builders have the ability, through Christ, to
define, illustrate, measure, and discuss a ministry blueprint that will help bring clarity to their church s
ministry process. This process will not only help define what the goals of their church are, but also
how to reach those goals. In addition to bringing clarity to the vision of the church, having this
ministry blueprint in place will help the leaders in their church communicate and be understood even
more effectively. Once clarity has been made through a ministry blueprint, action must follow. The
movement needed is defined by Thom S. Rainer and Eric Geiger as the sequential steps in the process
that cause people to move to greater areas of commitment. Jesus gave a profound example of what
that movement should look like in the book of Luke. In the the first 5 6 chapters, the Lord called his
disciples to Himself and provided them with opportunities to experience Him. Next, Jesus provided
opportunities designed to test their faith. He allowed them to

The Slaughter of Horses
Slaughtering horses for human consumption in the United States started in the early 1970 s.
Americans do not eat horsemeat; we consider horses to be favored animals, just like dogs and cats.
The idea of eating a horse, a cat, or a dog just goes against our very culture. It was foreign interests
that brought the horse slaughter industry to the United States and built equine slaughterhouses here.
By the 1990 s, there were at least sixteen equine slaughterhouses operating all across the United
States. At that time, most Americans did not even realize that such an industry even existed in their
country. Over the years, the industry grew larger and people began to use slaughter as an opportune
way to get rid of their undesired horses. Rather than take responsibility for their horses by either
taking the time to place them in a horse sanctuary or by paying a licensed veterinarian put them down
humanely, owners would ship them to a slaughter house and get paid for doing so. In today s United
States there is a debate ensuing on whether to lift the ban on equine slaughter which was enacted in
2007. There are practical as well as commercial arguments that can be made in favor of horse
slaughter, and there are ethical and environmental reasons to oppose it. In this paper I plan on
addressing both sides of the debate as well as explaining each sides main points. In 2007, the last
United States plant capable of equine slaughter was closed due to a district court ruling making it

The Economic And Political Instability
To what extent does the economic and political instability in Mexico impact the urgency for
immigration reform in the United States?
The political and economic condition of Mexico has been characterized by corruption and inequity,
thus affecting immigration rates to the United States. Although the political instability rooted within
Mexico s history has been prevalent since its post colonization, recently, new political presences have
aimed to correct the corruption within Mexico s government to lessen the reasons for emigration, thus
impacting a current controversy in American politics regarding immigration reform. The fraudulence
of the Mexican government deeply affects the citizens safety; therefore, immigration reform should be
implemented because of America s capability to provide security and the humanitarian principles that
are ensured.
Mexican citizens feel motivated to emigrate for better economic opportunities available outside of
Mexico. Without a proper source of income or the needs to support one s self or family, these
immigrants feel motivated to move out of Mexico to achieve proper financial support. According to
Gary K. Cárdenas, professor and director of the Hispanic Research Center, and Mary Erickson,
professor of art in the School of Art, in an analysis about Frida Kahlo s Self Portrait Between the
Borderline of Mexico and the United States, Kahlo and Rivera s immigration to the United States was

The Internet And Its Effect On Society
In the time it takes a person to read this sentence 684,478 pieces of content will be shared on
Facebook, 100,000 people will tweet, hundreds of thousands more will like an Instagram photo...and
that s if they read very quickly (Marrouat). Today, many people use the Internet for everything. The
internet has many benefits, anyone that has a computer with internet can find any information and can
even add to it. That s why the Internet is known as the collected knowledge of millions of people. The
most popular tool of the Internet though, is its way for socialization. Socialization is referring to the
way people communicate and how they do it. There are places where people can go to get in contact
or stay in contact with others and places where people go to talk about their interests. Facebook is an
example of a place where people can socialize and talk with friends and acquaintances or even join

There are many different ways that humans interact together. The way most of America interacts is

Factors Affecting The Threat Agent Involved
A: LIKELIHOOD:
There are several factors that can help determine the likelihood. The first set of factors are related to
the threat agent involved. The goal is to estimate the likelihood of a successful attack from a group of
possible attackers.
A1. Threat Agent Factors
The first set of factors are related to the threat agent involved. The goal here is to estimate the
likelihood of a successful attack by this group of threat agents. Use the worst case threat agent.
A1.1: Skill level required to exploit a vulnerability:
Many tools exist to automate the exploitation of SQL injection vulnerabilities and their functions
range from mining database access to gaining command execution via specific database packages. An
attacker with basic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(7.0 High)
A1.4: Size: XSS and SQL Injection attacks can be carried out an individual or a team of attackers.
Nothing stops a lone attacker to exploit XSS and SQL Injection vulnerabilities. (9.0 High)
A.2: VULNERABILITY FACTORS
A.2.1: Ease of discoverability: For both vulnerabilities, it is extremely easy to be discovered by threat
agents as automated tools available freely on internet. (8.5 High)
A.2.2: Ease of exploit: Again, automated tools available to exploit these vulnerabilities so this is
extremely easy to pull off. (9.0 High)
A.2.3: Awareness: SQLi was first publicly disclosed around 17 years ago, and still on Top of the
OWASP list. It is very well known vulnerability. Same goes for the XSS it is very well known among
hackers. (9.0 High)
A.2.4: Intrusion detection: Yes, there are tools available to detect XSS and SQL Injection like SNORT
and other black box tools. (3.0 Low)
Average Score of all factors = Likelihood = 7.5 High
B: IMPACT:
Before estimating the overall impact of an attack, it is important to address that there are two kinds of
impacts. Technical impact on system/application and Business impact on the Business/Company.
B.1: Technical Impact Factors
B.1.1: Loss of confidentiality: By exploiting points of SQL Injection in the application an attacker can
gain access to all Critical Data Assets connected to the Company Portal application and backend

The Fur Trade Period in the Indian Territory
Images of rough faced, Grizzly Bear fighting, firewater drinking, yarn spinning, frontiersmen form in
the minds eye. Wild men for wild times! To a degree this image is true, but the fur trade was more
than wild men. The fur trade was a business, conducted by businessmen. The wilder men living on the
frontier chose trapping. Fashion created the fur trade as businessmen sought to satisfy the tastes of
designers and customers back east and in Europe, where furs and hides were necessities for
fashionable clothing and accessories. Fashions also affected the Indians who sought, silver, vermillion,
glass beads, and clothe from traders. Each group depended on the other to supply the resources. ...

In 1824, due to escalating conflicts between Osages and eastern tribes, the government constructed Ft.
Gibson at the mouth of the Neosho on the Arkansas River, thus adding government settlers or
merchants to the mix of traders and changing trade practices in the area forever. Should peace be
restored, the different tribes would turn their attention altogether to hunting, consequently the
Arkansas River would become as valuable highway as the Mississippi and Missouri for the
transportation of furs and other articles of Indian trade, A.P. Chouteau.
As the Civilized Tribes were being relocated, the U.S. army sent expeditions west. While preparing for
one such expedition, Washington Irving in his journal A Tour of the Prairies recounts the scene at
Chouteau s trading post as; a few log houses on the banks of the river, surrounded by a group of
Osages simple in garb and aspect, a party of Creeks quite oriental in their appearance, a sprinkling of
trappers, hunters, half breeds, Creoles, Negroes, and other rabble of nondescript beings between
civilized and savage life .
The fur trade also took place along the Red River. Here no one trader dominated like the Chouteau
family of the three forks area. Independent traders established posts along the Red River to trade with
the Kiowas and Comanches and the Choctaws and Chickasaws. Josiah Doaks began a small post near
the junction of the Kiamichi and Red Rivers in 1821.

The West African Regional War Essay
The West Africa Regional War
For observers of the West Africa regional war, the recent calm in the war torn Mano River Union
(MRU) states Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea has given rise to optimism. Guarded, as this optimism
might be, the decrease in violence in West Africa during the second half of 2001 is an important
development given the scope and intensity of fighting that gripped these states earlier in the year.
While observers agree that the current absence of widespread violent conflict in the MRU is a much
welcomed development, it must not mask the profound cleavages within these societies, the tenuous
nature of the UN imposed peace in Sierra Leone, and the continued serious threat of renewed warfare
in the region. A brief ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The end of the 1990s housed over 500,000 refugees housed in hundreds of camps and settlements in
Guinea, one of the largest refugee populations in the world (U.S. Commission for Refugees, Guinea:
Country Report 1999, www.refugees.org/world/countryrpt/africa/1999/guinea.htm). While the
destabilizing effects on Guinean society of large numbers of Liberian and Sierra Leonean refugees
was profound throughout the 1990s, sustained cross border conflict did not break out between Guinea
and her neighbors until 2000. Cross border attacks into Guinea by Sierra Leone s Revolutionary
United Front (RUF) and various Liberian based rebel groups precipitated a harsh military response
from the Guinean military, which led to thousands of militia and civilian casualties.
Of course, fighting in West Africa during the 1990s was not confined to the MRU states. Serious
bloodshed occurred in Guinea Bissau (1999), the southern Casamance region of Senegal (ongoing),
and Nigeria (ongoing) and conflict threatens to engulf c?te d Ivoire. Sometimes referred to as the arc
of conflict in West Africa, these wars escape simple classification. While the war that started in 1989
in Liberia has become regionalized in the rest of the MRU, the other areas of instability in West Africa
are based on intra state phenomena. Nevertheless, the broader and deeper that instability grows in
West Africa, the greater the risk that conflicts will merge and spread, further

Abstinence Programs
Social control is considered, The process through which a group influences the behavior of its
members toward conformity with its norms (Kirst Ashman, 2014, p. 544). One concept that is used be
the Catholic Church to control teens is abstinence programs. Even though there is little evidence
supporting abstinence only programs, Catholic schools are still including them in their curriculum.
These programs are promoting marriage and using fear tactics in regard to having sex before marriage.
These abstinences programs come into the school and force their opinion onto the students that they
should abstain until they are married. Programs like this are making students sign forms stating that
they will abstain from premarital sex. Students

Justice Scalia Often Uses The Texualist Approach When Arguing
Justice Scalia often uses the texualist approach when arguing for the text of the Constitution, but
sometimes, as Scalia would argue, the text isn t straightforward. In R.A.V v. City of St. Paul, Scalia
authored the opinion of the Court, in which he argues that free speech is protected under the
Constitution, unless it falls under a very narrow set of exceptions. According to Scalia, some content
can be regulated because of their constitutionally proscribable contents (obscenity, defamation, etc.).
Scalia s argument is that there are certain exceptions in the text of the Constitution that allow for
regulation of certain speech.
He also grants that the prohibition against content discrimination that we assert the First Amendment

While Scalia presents a strong argument for textualism in these cases, nowhere does he focus more on
the actual text of the Constitution then in District of Columbia v. Heller. In this case, Justice Scalia
held for the majority of the Court that the District of Columbia law restricting gun ownership was in
violation of the Constitution. In his opinion, Scalia looks very closely at the operative clause of the
Second Amendment: Right of the People. In his examination of the phrase, Scalia looks at how it is
used in other parts of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights where it refers to individual rights, not
collective rights, or rights that may be exercised only through participation in some corporate body.
Scalia argues that the right to bear arms is a right enjoyed by individuals, not just groups. In his
tedious examination of the text, Scalia also looks at the phrase Keep and bear Arms, which Scalia says
has not changed in meaning from the 18th century definition of arms. More specifically, Scalia looks
at the meaning of the term in the 18th century, where it had a meaning that refers to carrying for a
particular purpose confrontation. In combination with a study of history, Scalia understands that the
Second Amendment conferred the individual right to possess and carry weapons in the case of
confrontation, but did not make the right infinite. Therefore, certain reasonable

The Discovery Of The Tomb Of King Tutankhamun
The discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun has answered many questions and solved many
mysteries about the life of people in Ancient Egypt. However, the life and death of the boy king is still
a mystery itself. For example, one continual argument and mystery is how King Tut died. Although
there are many opposing theories, King Tutankhamen died because he was already weak from genetic
diseases, then broke his leg, which got infected and caused King Tut to die.
King Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh that had an early death. He was born circa 1341 B.C.E.
and was the 12th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (King Tut Biography). His main impact on Egypt was
restoring the main polytheistic religion of Ancient Egypt (King Tut Biography). His father, Akhenaten,
whose name translates to he who works for Aten, wanted Egypt to become monotheistic (King Tut
Biography). He wanted all of Egypt to only worship Aten, instead of the pantheon of gods they had
previously worshipped (King Tut Biography). Egyptian society went into chaos and Akhenaton was
probably forced to abdicate the throne. (King Tut Biography). When Tutankhamun was born, he was
originally called Tutankhaten, meaning living image of Aten, but he eventually changed his name to
Tutankhamun, meaning the living image of Amun (Meaning of Akhenaten and King Tut Biography).
Converting Egypt to polytheism was the main impact of King Tutankhamen in Egypt. King
Tutankhamun came to power in Egypt very young. He probably became

choose from in the upcoming U.S. presidential election this coming November: Donald Trump and

parties until each party holds their national convention and officially nominates them. Barring a
Hillary Clinton indictment, one of those two will become the next president of the United States.
Gary Johnson, the Libertarian party presidential candidate, will not be elected as the next president.

has a major problem with illegal immigration. The reason the U.S. has a problem with illegal
immigration is because we have an administration and political party that allows it. The liberal
argument is that illegal immigrants contribute so much to our economy. But the truth is illegal
immigrants take more than they contribute. According to a study conducted by Federation for
American Immigration Reform (FAIR), in 2013, illegal immigrants cost U.S. tax payers $113 billion
while only contributing $1.27 billion. The majority of the $1.27 billion was in sales taxes from
purchasing consumer products. $84 billion of the $112 was from state and local tax dollars. The study
used examples of how different states are operating at a fiscal deficit compared to how much illegal
immigrants were costing the state. One example is California. California, facing a budget deficit of
$14.4 billion in 2010 2011, is hit with an estimated $21.8 billion in annual expenditures on illegal
aliens. On top of the tax and other financial burden, illegal immigrants are taking away blue collar and
unskilled jobs from Americans, leaving many American workers unemployed. Donald Trump plans to
stop illegal immigration by deporting illegal aliens and building a wall on the U.S Mexican border that
Mexico will pay for. Once again, this is not racist. It may be unfair to the illegal immigrants, but it is
not racist because of the enormous financial impact illegal immigrants has on

Essay on Machiavelli’s The Prince and the Modern Executive
The Prince and the Modern Executive
Few question The Prince s place in the canon of western literature. That it marks a turning point in our
collective history, the origin of the study of politics as a science (Pollock 43), is alone enough to
warrant its classification as a Great Book. Its author, Niccolo Machiavelli, a contemporary of
Copernicus, is generally accepted as an early contributor to the scientific revolution, because he
looked at power and the nature of sovereignty through the eyes of a scientist, focused completely on
the goal without regard for religion and morals and ethics. Machiavelli taught that the way princes
actually do govern often differs substantially from than the way they ought to govern, according to ...

A corporation has its king and its barons, its courtiers and ambassadors, its loyalists and its dissident
elements, its allies and its enemies. What is important to our application of his principles of statecraft
to the business world is not the superficial differences but the underlying unity. Modern corporations
that are successful and well managed do not necessarily operate in harmony with the personal morality
of their employees and for the general good of their communities. Similarly, firms which pollute the
environment or ask their employees to lie are not always forced into bankruptcy.
The individualism and secularism that characterized the Italian Renaissance are dominant themes in
Machiavelli s thinking. His use of historical examples throughout The Prince demonstrates an
extensive knowledge of Greek and Roman history and is consistent with the new found love for
antiquity of the Renaissance. Machiavelli was, in every sense of the word, a true renaissance man. He
appears to be remarkably well educated, although limited finances probably prevented him from
studying at a major university. As a result, the effect of humanist teachings, prevalent at most of the
institutions of higher learning at the time, on Machiavelli was limited. Machiavelli s knowledge of
specific details of politics is primarily the culmination of a life long career as a bureaucrat and
diplomat.

Discount For Commodity
Discount for Commodities
In order to determine the necessities of the duty of goodness, the effects of present behaviors need to
be weighted based on the present and future s goodness through the utilization of cost benefit analysis.
Whether implicit or explicit, ethics is always implicated when debating about climate change, and so
Broome, as a philosopher, examines and criticizes economists ethical judgments. Broom discusses and
analyzes the discount rate based on commodities, well being, and time used in economic analysis of
climate change.
The discount rate is a specific annual rate that expresses the future commodity value compared to the
present commodity value. It is based on a cost benefit analysis when the future people s benefits ...

The marginal benefit of money is the amount by which a small increase in a person s wealth increases
that person s well being, and it is inversely proportional to a person s wealth (Broome 124). As a result
of the growth of the economy, future people will possess more commodities and so there will be a
diminishing marginal value of commodities. Broome gives evidence that the economy is likely to
grow, so commodities should be discounted positively. If future people will be better off as mentioned
earlier, present people can discount for well being because the value of an addition to well being in the
future will be less than the value of an addition to present well being. Broome argues that this theory
conflicts with utilitarianism, which gives a quantitative aggregation of well being. Utilitarianism can
be a theory of human goodness; however, it does not distribute the well being among individuals. In
contrast, Broome mentions Prioritarianism, which supports the increase of well being of the
disadvantaged than to the privileged and promotes equitable distribution of well being. Prioritarianism
and Utilitarianism are contrasting theories because Prioritarianism, an ethical claim, supports
discounting the value of marginal changes in well being to the future generations, assuming they are
better off than the present people while Utilitarianism does not

The Pros And Cons Of Hypertension
According to CDC (2016), one out of three American adults suffers from hypertension (HTN). This
accounts for about 75 million or 29% of the adult population in the United States. Uncontrolled HTN
is the leading cause of myocardial infarction, chronic kidney diseases (CKD), strokes, and
hypertensive heart diseases (HHD) (CDC, 2016). According to a report from CDC (2016), HTN costs

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services (2013), among 26,448,196 residents of
Texas, 170.1 death rates related to HHD, 40.1 related to stroke and 15.9 related to CKD consecutively.
AHRQ (2013) health expenditure data demonstrates that the southern region of the United States,
which includes Texas, exceeded the average health expenditure for a hypertensive patient to a cost of
$805 per hypertensive person. Two recent peer review audits of twenty charts at Southmore Medical
Clinic revealed that we were practicing with only a 45% compliance rate with the Joint National
Committee (JNC) 8 guideline recommendations for managing HTN. In Southmore Clinic HTN
management protocol is based on JNC 6 guidelines and HTN parameters are more relaxed due to
patients noncompliance and the physician s laid back attitude. Therefore, the revision of existing

The Impact Of Technology And Its Impact On The World
As the time goes on, technology becomes more popular and essential for most people s daily life.
Technology also becomes more dominant in every aspects on life such as working, studying, and even
doing housework. It has radically changed the way human interacts with the world; for instance,
people only communicated in person or through postal mails decades ago, and technology helped
changing the traditional communication style into a faster one through texting and instant messaging.
There are three perspectives on the impact of technology to humanity. First perspective is about its
positive contributions to the society for the past few years. It has shorten many time consuming tasks
that made us have scratched our heads when thinking about them. Second perspective is about some
cons of relying on technology too much such as becoming more lazy and lacking of motivation of
doing things as well as disconnecting from reality and real people. The third perspective is about its
uses for some people in developing countries. Technology does not help them much since these people
do not have enough money to afford it. Therefore, its prohibited cost makes itself inaccessible in some
countries. Technology actually has made life better but relying on its automatic nature too much can
lead to being enslaved for it. First of all, I fully agree on the first perspective that technology has
positively contributed a lot to the society. It is growing rapidly in the recent years. That means

W. E. B. Dubois Dark Princess
People, no matter their race or color, have always wanted to be successful, live comfortably, and
provide for their families. While the definitions for success and comfort have changed over time, a
constant truth is that hard work and sacrifice are required to reach these goals. Moving from an
individual to the societal or political level, for many races and nations, progress can measure success.
Ethnic groups want progress towards equality, while nations, particularly those in Asia, Africa, and the
Middle East, want progress towards economic and industrial progress towards leveling with the West;
they also wish for political respect and autonomy. Since the end of the colonial era, there has been a

Examining W.E.B. Dubois novel Dark Princess, the characters of Sammy Scott and Sara Andrews
exemplify individualism completely. The honorable Sammy Scott was a leading black politician in
Chicago. Dubois described Sammy s beginnings: ...in 1910 by selling the right to gamble, keep houses
of prostitution, and commit petty theft, to certain men, white and black, who paid him in cash (Dubois,
pg. 82). Sammy is completely corrupt, wanting power and money for himself. He misses his
opportunity as a politician to help his district, make positive changes that could improve the lives of
the black people all around him. Instead he chooses to be a gangster, promoting gambling and
prostitution, and maintaining a criminal undertone in Chicago. Sara Andrews was equally calculating.
Dubois describes Sara on page 84 as having a good intellect without moral scruples and a clear idea of
the communal and social value of virginity, respectability, and good clothes . Dubois is saying she is
cunning, and in tune with what is expected in society. She knows what she needs to do to be
successful, and like Sammy, she wants all of the power for herself. Sammy and Sara both lived a dog
eat dog existence, and were willing to sacrifice others on their way to the top. It is important to note
that Dubois recognized individualism as a major obstacle for racial progress, and Sammy and Sara
demonstrated the issues stemming from individualism in Dark Princess. Unfortunately, others failed to
capitalize on Dubois foresight. Today there is an equal lack of cohesiveness amongst African
Americans, due to varying socioeconomic levels. At the time of civil rights, a black middle class was
able to forge ahead and have success. This professional level is still here today, but what also exists

The Threat Of Network Security
There are threats to network security that can compromise your computer systems. Viruses are one of
the top security threats in the technology industry. A virus is a program or a code that is loaded into
your computer system without your knowledge will run against your wishes (Beal, n.d). Viruses can
also replicate themselves. All computer viruses are manmade and a virus can make a copy of itself
several times and easy to create (Beal, n.d). Mark Vernon wrote that 72% of all companies have
received infected e mails or files last year and for larger companies the percentage was 83% (Vernon,
2004). The top viruses in malignancy are Worms and Trojan Horses (Vernon, 2004). Another threat to
network security is malware. Malware (malicious software) is a annoying or harmful type of software
that is intended to secretly access a device without a user s knowledge. There are different types of
malware, which include spyware, phishing, viruses, adware, Trojan horses, worms, ransomware,
rootkits, and browser hijackers ( What is Malware and how to remove it | Cyber security, n.d.).
Malware gets access to your device through the internet, email, hacked websites, toolbars, music files,

Examples Of Dehumanization And Isolation In Flowers For...
Dehumanization and Isolation. These are the main themes in the short story by Danielle Keyes, titled
Flowers for Algernon . Flowers for Algernon is about a boy who is much less intelligent than the
average person, so to make himself smarter, he undergoes an experimental surgery. But as Charlie s IQ
continues to grow, he soon comes to find out that all good things must come to an end. Many say that
Charlie starts out as the object of dehumanization and isolation, seeing as how his friends treat him,
but many more insist that the dehumanization and isolation aren t completely developed until the
middle of the story, where Charlie becomes too smart to interact with the people that gave him his
newfound intelligence. These themes are often debated upon as to whether or not they become more
or less relevant as the story progresses, but what most don t consider is that these themes have always
appeared in Charlie s life, he was just too blind to see what was always there. In the beginning of the
story, Charlie is quizzed with the Rorschach Test. The test administer tells Charlie to tell him what he
sees in the ink. Since Charlie has a tendency to take things quite literally, he first tries to find actual
objects in the ink. When the administrator tell him that s not quite what he means, Charlie get scared
that the administrator is mad at him because he thinks he spilled the ink. This already demonstrates
how dehumanized and isolated Charlie really is. Later in the story, Charlie finds out that he has been
chosen to undergo the experimental procedure and happily agrees even though he really has no idea
what he is getting into. This is demonstrated in the story when writes And she said Charlie your going
to have a second chance. If you volenteer for this experament you mite get smart. They dont know if it
will be perminint but theirs a chance. Thats why i said ok even when i was scared because she said it
was an operashun (Keyes 206). After Charlie s operation is when the real dehumanization and

Pinocchio, A Classic Film Directed By Norman Ferguson
Human Nature, a state of dangerous and unpredictable practicality that intertwines within difficulties
of our lives. Humans make mistakes not because we are programmed to do so, but because we have an
analytical mindset to choose what best suits our self interest . If you would ask me, Human nature is
probably one of the most terrifying things of this Earth. Nevertheless, you can t stand but to love
humanism and the persona of one s being. Pinocchio, a classic film directed by Norman Ferguson,
reminds us how it is to be vulnerable, fragile, and human. Through the linear progression of choice
and opposition, Pinocchio s wooden heart has to learn the acrimonious trial of human temptation and
deviance in order to become a real boy. Thus creating the theme, you must go through trial, turbulation
and experiences in order to truly appreciate humanity and others.
In the beginning, just as many films begin, we open the story. This simple action helps the audience
literally envision the beginning, the opening, the first page of a story. This makes the film more
personable, as if we were reading the book with a family member before going to bed. In the timeline,
we would call this the exposition in which happiness and no opposing forces have occurred yet.
Pinocchio is still a wooden puppet and we are introduced to the characters of the film. What I find is
interesting is that Even from the beginning, Pinocchio was the closest to human out of all the toys and
wooden clocks in the

The bacterium, which can be found in contaminated water or food, produces the toxin that causes unusual fluid secretion (1). Even though cholera still causes several deaths, about 80% of the cases can be treated with rehydration therapy (2). In 2013, America had the highest number of cholera cases (Figure 1). Figure 1: Cholera cases reported to WHO by year and continent 1989 2013 (World Health Organization, 2014) The causal agent of cholera is called Vibrio cholerae (Figure 2), which is a Gram negative bacillus from the genus Vibrionaceae. Modified wrestling is the same way, no set weight classes just the roughly the same size. But then high school wrestling started, there are set weight classes and they are extremely strict on how it need to be done. In the beginning of each season there is a process that is known as weight certification. What you have to do for that is pass the hydration test, get your body fat checked and then weigh in. After all that is done your body fat and weight are put into a formula that checks to see what the lowest possible weight class you can wrestle is with having a healthy amount of body fat. They hydration test is extremely important, if you are not hydrated you cannot certify until a later date. You have to pee in a cup and then the instructor puts the pee into a Refractometer and it measures the absolute weight of the urine and if it s over 1.025 you pass, anything less you fail and have to retry. They do this test so kids can t suck ridicules amounts of weight, this makes the sport a little bit more healthy I suppose. This new certification process was implanted in 2006 to help insure the safety of the participants (Funk). Every year in high school I wrestled in the 119 weight class. • 7. The Issue Of Annexation Movements Inside Canada Isn t it sad to see a Parliament building burnt on the night of April 25th, 1849 to mark as one of our historical importance of establishing Canada? The definition of annexation is to take over and acquiring another state. Usually, it is implied that the territory and population being annexed is the smaller and the weakest of the two merging state. By definition, Manifesto is a public declaration of policy and aims. Annexation movements inside Canada were usually inspired by dissatisfaction with Britain s colonial government of Canada. For example, a groups of Irish immigrants took the route of attempting to annex the peninsula between the Detroit and Niagara Rivers to the U.S. by force in 1837 1838. The War of 1812 built up hatred overtime between the Americans and the British. But as a result, there were no territorial changes. Another significant event before the Annexation Manifesto was the Rebellion of 1837. It caused a backfire which led to a massive violence when Lower and Upper Canada took arms to achieve a responsible government. Although the Rebellions of 1837 were motivated in part by this type of dissatisfaction, Canadian resentment of British rule never reached the degree that led to the American Revolution in 1775. Notably, Canada s population grew rapidly in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Canada s population grew due to United Empire Loyalists, who left the American colonies during the Revolution because of their loyalty to Great Britain. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In its stead are programs, methods, organizations, and a world of nervous activities which occupy time and attention but can never satisfy the longing of the heart. The shallowness of our inner experience, the hollowness of our worship, and that servile imitation of the world which marks our promotional methods all testify that we, in this da, know God only imperfectly, and the peace of God scarcely at all. He took the complexity of the Law and stripped it down to the very core. He made obeying the Law of the Lord easier to understand through the accessibility of simplicity. Churches today must follow Jesus example and seek simplicity. The individuals that make up a church are builders. These builders have the ability, through Christ, to define, illustrate, measure, and discuss a ministry blueprint that will help bring clarity to their church s ministry process. This process will not only help define what the goals of their church are, but also how to reach those goals. In addition to bringing clarity to the vision of the church, having this ministry blueprint in place will help the leaders in their church communicate and be understood even more effectively. Once clarity has been made through a ministry blueprint, action must follow. The movement needed is defined by Thom S. Rainer and Eric Geiger as the sequential steps in the process that cause people to move to greater areas of commitment. Jesus gave a profound example of what that movement should look like in the book of Luke. • 15. The Slaughter of Horses Slaughtering horses for human consumption in the United States started in the early 1970 s. Americans do not eat horsemeat; we consider horses to be favored animals, just like dogs and cats. The idea of eating a horse, a cat, or a dog just goes against our very culture. It was foreign interests that brought the horse slaughter industry to the United States and built equine slaughterhouses here. By the 1990 s, there were at least sixteen equine slaughterhouses operating all across the United States. At that time, most Americans did not even realize that such an industry even existed in their country. Over the years, the industry grew larger and people began to use slaughter as an opportune way to get rid of their undesired horses. Rather than take responsibility for their horses by either taking the time to place them in a horse sanctuary or by paying a licensed veterinarian put them down humanely, owners would ship them to a slaughter house and get paid for doing so. In today s United States there is a debate ensuing on whether to lift the ban on equine slaughter which was enacted in 2007. There are practical as well as commercial arguments that can be made in favor of horse slaughter, and there are ethical and environmental reasons to oppose it. In this paper I plan on addressing both sides of the debate as well as explaining each sides main points. In 2007, the last United States plant capable of equine slaughter was closed due to a district court ruling making it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. The Economic And Political Instability To what extent does the economic and political instability in Mexico impact the urgency for immigration reform in the United States? The political and economic condition of Mexico has been characterized by corruption and inequity, thus affecting immigration rates to the United States. Although the political instability rooted within Mexico s history has been prevalent since its post colonization, recently, new political presences have aimed to correct the corruption within Mexico s government to lessen the reasons for emigration, thus impacting a current controversy in American politics regarding immigration reform. The fraudulence of the Mexican government deeply affects the citizens safety; therefore, immigration reform should be implemented because of America s capability to provide security and the humanitarian principles that are ensured. Mexican citizens feel motivated to emigrate for better economic opportunities available outside of Mexico. Without a proper source of income or the needs to support one s self or family, these immigrants feel motivated to move out of Mexico to achieve proper financial support. According to Gary K. Wild men for wild times! To a degree this image is true, but the fur trade was more than wild men. The fur trade was a business, conducted by businessmen. The wilder men living on the frontier chose trapping. Fashion created the fur trade as businessmen sought to satisfy the tastes of designers and customers back east and in Europe, where furs and hides were necessities for fashionable clothing and accessories. Fashions also affected the Indians who sought, silver, vermillion, glass beads, and clothe from traders. Each group depended on the other to supply the resources. ... Gibson at the mouth of the Neosho on the Arkansas River, thus adding government settlers or merchants to the mix of traders and changing trade practices in the area forever. Should peace be restored, the different tribes would turn their attention altogether to hunting, consequently the Arkansas River would become as valuable highway as the Mississippi and Missouri for the transportation of furs and other articles of Indian trade, A.P. While preparing for one such expedition, Washington Irving in his journal A Tour of the Prairies recounts the scene at Chouteau s trading post as; a few log houses on the banks of the river, surrounded by a group of Osages simple in garb and aspect, a party of Creeks quite oriental in their appearance, a sprinkling of trappers, hunters, half breeds, Creoles, Negroes, and other rabble of nondescript beings between civilized and savage life . The fur trade also took place along the Red River. Here no one trader dominated like the Chouteau family of the three forks area. The West African Regional War Essay The West Africa Regional War For observers of the West Africa regional war, the recent calm in the war torn Mano River Union (MRU) states Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea has given rise to optimism. Guarded, as this optimism might be, the decrease in violence in West Africa during the second half of 2001 is an important development given the scope and intensity of fighting that gripped these states earlier in the year. While observers agree that the current absence of widespread violent conflict in the MRU is a much welcomed development, it must not mask the profound cleavages within these societies, the tenuous nature of the UN imposed peace in Sierra Leone, and the continued serious threat of renewed warfare in the region. While the destabilizing effects on Guinean society of large numbers of Liberian and Sierra Leonean refugees was profound throughout the 1990s, sustained cross border conflict did not break out between Guinea and her neighbors until 2000. Cross border attacks into Guinea by Sierra Leone s Revolutionary United Front (RUF) and various Liberian based rebel groups precipitated a harsh military response from the Guinean military, which led to thousands of militia and civilian casualties. In his opinion, Scalia looks very closely at the operative clause of the Second Amendment: Right of the People. In his examination of the phrase, Scalia looks at how it is used in other parts of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights where it refers to individual rights, not collective rights, or rights that may be exercised only through participation in some corporate body. Scalia argues that the right to bear arms is a right enjoyed by individuals, not just groups. In his tedious examination of the text, Scalia also looks at the phrase Keep and bear Arms, which Scalia says has not changed in meaning from the 18th century definition of arms. More specifically, Scalia looks at the meaning of the term in the 18th century, where it had a meaning that refers to carrying for a particular purpose confrontation. However, the life and death of the boy king is still a mystery itself. For example, one continual argument and mystery is how King Tut died. Although there are many opposing theories, King Tutankhamen died because he was already weak from genetic diseases, then broke his leg, which got infected and caused King Tut to die. King Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh that had an early death. He was born circa 1341 B.C.E. and was the 12th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (King Tut Biography). His main impact on Egypt was restoring the main polytheistic religion of Ancient Egypt (King Tut Biography). According to a study conducted by Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), in 2013, illegal immigrants cost U.S. tax payers $113 billion while only contributing $1.27 billion. That it marks a turning point in our collective history, the origin of the study of politics as a science (Pollock 43), is alone enough to warrant its classification as a Great Book. Its author, Niccolo Machiavelli, a contemporary of Copernicus, is generally accepted as an early contributor to the scientific revolution, because he looked at power and the nature of sovereignty through the eyes of a scientist, focused completely on the goal without regard for religion and morals and ethics. The marginal benefit of money is the amount by which a small increase in a person s wealth increases that person s well being, and it is inversely proportional to a person s wealth (Broome 124). As a result of the growth of the economy, future people will possess more commodities and so there will be a diminishing marginal value of commodities. Broome gives evidence that the economy is likely to grow, so commodities should be discounted positively. If future people will be better off as mentioned earlier, present people can discount for well being because the value of an addition to well being in the future will be less than the value of an addition to present well being. Broome argues that this theory conflicts with utilitarianism, which gives a quantitative aggregation of well being. Utilitarianism can be a theory of human goodness; however, it does not distribute the well being among individuals. In contrast, Broome mentions Prioritarianism, which supports the increase of well being of the disadvantaged than to the privileged and promotes equitable distribution of well being. Prioritarianism and Utilitarianism are contrasting theories because Prioritarianism, an ethical claim, supports discounting the value of marginal changes in well being to the future generations, assuming they are better off than the present people while Utilitarianism does not ... Dubois described Sammy s beginnings: ...in 1910 by selling the right to gamble, keep houses of prostitution, and commit petty theft, to certain men, white and black, who paid him in cash (Dubois, pg. 82). Sammy is completely corrupt, wanting power and money for himself. He misses his opportunity as a politician to help his district, make positive changes that could improve the lives of the black people all around him. Instead he chooses to be a gangster, promoting gambling and prostitution, and maintaining a criminal undertone in Chicago. Sara Andrews was equally calculating. Dubois is saying she is cunning, and in tune with what is expected in society. She knows what she needs to do to be successful, and like Sammy, she wants all of the power for herself. Sammy and Sara both lived a dog eat dog existence, and were willing to sacrifice others on their way to the top. It is important to note that Dubois recognized individualism as a major obstacle for racial progress, and Sammy and Sara demonstrated the issues stemming from individualism in Dark Princess. Previously society experienced the rise and fall more sporadically, however today, the recessions are so close together that it is becoming more and more difficult to analyze the space in between. In the recessions of 1974 1975 the government leaders, who took the iniative to alert people that in the coming year they would experience a downturn, foresaw the recession. This recession was recorder to be the worst since the 1930 s, for an accumulation of reasons; the largest factor being the American aggression in the Vietnam War . Paul Volcker was a critic on the American dollar and the American s involvement by stating Our failure to face up to the financing of the Vietnam war [was] one key factor in setting up the subsequent inflation . This is a statement that could be used for any recession. Simply by changing the war, and the point in which the quote could be referring to, there is the leading cause to a recession. However, the war would then affect the natural state of the economy. Without the war the government would have used the money elsewhere, would have gone where it needs to go, or would the government find another cause to invest in? The questions of government spending follows a dangerous line of whether the money spent in one place was worth it. • 37. How To Pursue My K-12 Magnet School As I nervously walked off the bus, I looked towards my new family who beckoned me towards them with signs and open arms. After hearing the Spanish sounding blur coming out of my new sister s mouth, I could only produce a blank stare in response. I immediately came to the realization that living in a Spanish speaking culture would not be as easy as I had expected, and my ten years of classroom Spanish would not be enough. This was a living language that I would have to learn and adjust to. Despite the preparation undergone for this trip of a lifetime, I quickly became overwhelmed living with a host family as an exchange student for six weeks in Paraná, Argentina. The mental strain of this language immersion alone would have been enough, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My K 12 magnet school is one of the very few schools in the country that teaches students at an early age how to entertain multiple ideas by using Paideia seminars which incorporate open ended questions centered around a thought provoking text. Understanding how to maintain my own ideas and opinions while accepting others was an important skill for this journey. The idea that there is no right or wrong, just different, was something I had not been able to fully understand until my foreign study experience. For example, Argentineans ability to vote before they could drive seemed strange to me, but I began to realize that Americans driving at 16 was just as strange. It became apparent that easing my way in wouldn t be an option, having just six weeks to make my best attempt at cultural immersion. Just drinking mate , the bitter, loose leaf tea nearly all of Argentina drinks, was an experience. Overcoming the American perspective on sweetness and the sharing of drinks was difficult, as I watched teachers and students drinking from the same metal straw and steaming gourd on a school field ... • 38. The Threat Of Network Security There are threats to network security that can compromise your computer systems. Viruses are one of the top security threats in the technology industry. A virus is a program or a code that is loaded into your computer system without your knowledge will run against your wishes (Beal, n.d). Viruses can also replicate themselves. All computer viruses are manmade and a virus can make a copy of itself several times and easy to create (Beal, n.d). Mark Vernon wrote that 72% of all companies have received infected e mails or files last year and for larger companies the percentage was 83% (Vernon, 2004). The top viruses in malignancy are Worms and Trojan Horses (Vernon, 2004). Another threat to network security is malware. Malware (malicious software) is a annoying or harmful type of software that is intended to secretly access a device without a user s knowledge. There are different types of malware, which include spyware, phishing, viruses, adware, Trojan horses, worms, ransomware, rootkits, and browser hijackers ( What is Malware and how to remove it | Cyber security, n.d.). There are so many reasons to enter a beauty pageant. Although the stereotype is multitudes of girls with big hair, caked on makeup, and fake personalities; being a size 0, or 2 that s not even close to reality! To tell the whole truth about pageants skeptics have to be open minded and erase all of their prior knowledge of what the portray pageants to be. Yes pageants do portray perfection, but that s not the half of it. Honestly girls don t have to be a size two or pretty or have their makeup caked on, but they do have to have to love themselves and except who they are, and have plenty self confidence. Self Confidence is the number one out of all of the reasons to enter a beauty pageant. Miss Teen Arizona said You would never catch me talking in front of large crowds, or being social at all..... until my mom entered me in my first pageant amongst 213 girls! Talk about life changing! She walked away by being 4th runner up, and as in awe about how much self confidence she had gained over that one weekend! If she can gain that much self confidence over one weekend then just imagine how many young women could be inflicted for the good in just one weekend! Self Confidence is hard for girls to obtain. • 40. Examples Of Dehumanization And Isolation In Flowers For... Dehumanization and Isolation. These are the main themes in the short story by Danielle Keyes, titled Flowers for Algernon . Flowers for Algernon is about a boy who is much less intelligent than the average person, so to make himself smarter, he undergoes an experimental surgery. But as Charlie s IQ continues to grow, he soon comes to find out that all good things must come to an end. Many say that Charlie starts out as the object of dehumanization and isolation, seeing as how his friends treat him, but many more insist that the dehumanization and isolation aren t completely developed until the middle of the story, where Charlie becomes too smart to interact with the people that gave him his newfound intelligence. These themes are often debated upon as to whether or not they become more or less relevant as the story progresses, but what most don t consider is that these themes have always appeared in Charlie s life, he was just too blind to see what was always there. In the beginning of the story, Charlie is quizzed with the Rorschach Test. The test administer tells Charlie to tell him what he sees in the ink. Since Charlie has a tendency to take things quite literally, he first tries to find actual objects in the ink. When the administrator tell him that s not quite what he means, Charlie get scared that the administrator is mad at him because he thinks he spilled the ink. This already demonstrates how dehumanized and isolated Charlie really is. Later in the story, Charlie finds out that he has been chosen to undergo the experimental procedure and happily agrees even though he really has no idea what he is getting into. This is demonstrated in the story when writes And she said Charlie your going to have a second chance. If you volenteer for this experament you mite get smart. They dont know if it will be perminint but theirs a chance. Thats why i said ok even when i was scared because she said it was an operashun (Keyes 206). When Charlie decides to go out with his work friends , the first hint of dehumanization begins to show when Charlie finally realizes that they are not really ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Pinocchio, A Classic Film Directed By Norman Ferguson Human Nature, a state of dangerous and unpredictable practicality that intertwines within difficulties of our lives. Humans make mistakes not because we are programmed to do so, but because we have an analytical mindset to choose what best suits our self interest . If you would ask me, Human nature is probably one of the most terrifying things of this Earth. Nevertheless, you can t stand but to love humanism and the persona of one s being. Pinocchio, a classic film directed by Norman Ferguson, reminds us how it is to be vulnerable, fragile, and human. Through the linear progression of choice and opposition, Pinocchio s wooden heart has to learn the acrimonious trial of human temptation and deviance in order to become a real boy. Thus creating the theme, you must go through trial, turbulation and experiences in order to truly appreciate humanity and others. In the beginning, just as many films begin, we open the story. This simple action helps the audience literally envision the beginning, the opening, the first page of a story. This makes the film more personable, as if we were reading the book with a family member before going to bed. In the timeline, we would call this the exposition in which happiness and no opposing forces have occurred yet. Pinocchio is still a wooden puppet and we are introduced to the characters of the film. What I find is interesting is that Even from the beginning, Pinocchio was the closest to human out of all the toys and wooden clocks in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
