media/general public became used to viewing her in a certain light, that when this pure and innocent

Tom Brennan Character Analysis
The phases of life and social context is predicated through the sum of personal feats and experiences

Disadvantages Of Telecommuting
In order to meet the financial needs and wants one has in society, he or she may choose to work. In
general, most work has traditionally been performed through a physical presence of an employee in a
workplace; where individuals are paid for their services. While much of this tradition is still present,
the development of communication technology and the internet has allowed for telecommuting to be
possible. Telecommuting, e commuting or remote working, is defined by many as work performed by
employees outside of a workplace such as a residence. While telecommuting, individuals are paid for
providing the same services done at a workplace. This transition has illustrated many benefits and
setbacks to individuals and society. Some influences are psychological, which change the lifestyles of
individuals and damage certain social behaviors. There are also many economic benefits presented to
businesses with telecommuting that lower expenses and increase employment with certain jobs. The
ways families operate and the careers individuals choose, are also impacted by the social effects of
telecommuting. For this reason, communication technology has allowed for more individuals to work
at home; resulting in various benefits and disadvantages. Telecommuting has been adopted globally,
with many different types of jobs and industries. A typical telecommuter in the United States is about
45 years old, college educated and earns an annual salary of $58,000. As of 2017, according to

Night by Elie Wisel and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck...
Night by Elie Wisel and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck are both books that have differences and
similarities in the relationships of their main characters. These characters are Elie and his father, which
are two Jews trapped in a concentration camp for the book Night. The other book Of Mice and Men
includes two other characters, who are Lennie and George. These two characters have very close
friendship, and take care of each other. These two relationships differ and coincide, in how they treat
each other, and in how they care for one another even when they don t have to. The relationships of
the characters in both books are both fairly close, but still face many hardships along the way. As in all
books the characters have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A quotation from this novel of this is when Slim said You had to George, I swear you had to just after
the murder place. The quote relates to the relationship of Elie and his father by showing how they both
felt the same burden about others. Lastly, another similarity between the relationships is how close
they are throughout the novels. For example, one way is as mentioned earlier, they care for each other
by feeling remorse when something happens to them such as in Night or when they do something that
might put them in danger or make them ill. An example is when George says Lennie for God sakes
don t drink so much. This relates to Elie and his father by showing us how they cared for each other s
health. All of this shows that even if characters are from different novels there are still many qualities
in their relationships that coincide. The relationship between Elie and his father, and the relationship
between George and Lennie differed in many aspects. One example, of this is that George and Lennie
from the novel Of Mice and Men had a relationship of tough love even though they cared for each
other, compared to Elie and his father which still loved each other but were not so harsh on each other.
For instance, George always would say I would be better off without you Lennie. Even though he was
tough on him George still cared for him. This quote relates to Elie and his dad because it explains how
this made their relationships differ. On the other

Wooden Fish Songs by Ruthanne Lum McCunn

Wooden Fish Songs, a historical novel written by Ruthanne Lum McCunn, is written with three
narrators. The main character in this story is Lue Gim Gong, a Chinese immigrant who gives up his
country and family to pursue his passion for botany. Three women that knew him the best narrate Lue
Gim Gong s story from three distinct cultures and three distinct points of view. They include his
mother Sum Jui, his teacher Fanny Burlingame, and a friend that he makes named Sheba. Their
contrasting perspectives are carefully interwoven from chapter to chapter. Lue, however, never gets a
voice throughout the book; this makes Lue Gim Gong s life even more puzzling than it already is. ...

Fanny also converts Lue to Christianity and encourages his garden research but keeps him financially
dependent. Fanny is the daughter of a strict industrialist; she is well drawn in this novel. She is too
strong to accept the lack of power women faced at the time. Uninterested in men, she invests all of her
emotions in Jesus until she meets Lue Gim Gong.
She sees Lue as her creation; others see him as her pet. In fact, he is more independent than she can
accept. Rudely rejecting the possibility of a positive influence from his own family, she says how she
made him as much of an improved variety of Chinaman as his salmonberry, cherry currant, and
tomato were of plants (McCunn, 154). Though her closeness to him it allows her to be offended by
others racism, as she regards him as someone special rather than a typical Chinaman. After Fanny s
death, he was barred from the church they had regularly worshipped in, on account of his color.
Finally there is Sheba, Fanny s black servant whose father was murdered by the Ku Klux Klan shortly
after winning his freedom from slavery. Sheba worked alongside Lue in the orange groves and
probably understood him best. This is because Sheba s eyes were the least blinded by prejudice and
ignorance. Unlike their white neighbors, neither Lue nor Sheba was too proud to share their different
knowledge and company.

Erich Fromm’s The Art of Loving Essay
Erich Fromm s The Art of Loving
Upon reading Erich Fromm s The Art of Loving, I gained a better understanding of what love really is.
Fromm s book puts love into perspective. He begins with several facts with regards to the attitude in
which people treat love. They are the problems of how to be loved, the object to love as well as the
confusion between the initial experience of falling in love and the permanent state of being in love,
which had a great impact on me, as far as thinking about what love is.
Strangers meet, they break down social walls between one another, and they feel close, as one. They
supposedly fell in love with one another, to Fromm, falling in love is not love, it s more infatuation.
Fromm describes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fromm asserts that love is an art, and says that to truly love, in all it s forms, you must possess
Maturity, self knowledge; and Courage.
Many people pursue objects of affection, or objects of love, and treat them as possessions. Fromm
states that love is the ability to love in different forms, brotherly love, romantic love, motherly love
etc. Since Fromm says that love is an art to be practiced, it can only be practiced in freedom with one
another. You can not treat others as objects or possessions for your own egotistical or selfish purposes
because this behavior will only result in destruction and you will never mow or attain true love.
Erikson s psychosocial stages of development states that in order to find intimacy and know who you
are, you must resolve your conflict in the Identity vs. Role Confusion Stage. Some individuals who
never find true love can be thought of as not having successfully completed the stage. They never
resolved their conflict thereby resulting in role confusion. Fromm states that in order to love, you must
have self love. How can you love yourself, if you don t know who you are? This is what I feel creates
the possessive love, the hurtful love, and the love that is taken for granted. It s the one nightstand; I ll
call you love.
Fromm describes what he calls the essential components that need to be mastered for all forms of
love: Care, the active concern for the life and growth of that which we love.

Explain The Two Step Flow Theory
The Two Step Flow theory dates back to the 1940s where Paul Lazarsfeld, Bernard Berelson and
Hazel Gaudet wrote a book called People s Choice that summarized the analysis of the November
1940 Presidential elections. The research revealed that people are more likely to be influenced by
other people rather than the mass media. They called these other people; opinion leaders. (Scannel,
2007). The theory is a key theory in understanding people s decision making processes, in this case
being the voting behaviours. The theory suggests that firstly, opinion leaders pay close attention to
mass media and then they pass on their interpretation of media messages to the public, influencing
their decisions. Unlike the hypodermic needle theory, the two step flow theory acknowledges that
audiences are active participants in the communication process and are seen as a part of the society.
Having the theory defined, the question that the paper aims to dissects is how relevant is this theory in
the world of modern communications today? In a paper presented in the 20th Annual Worldwide Web
Conferencing in 2011, researchers who focussed on the social ... Show more content on

social process of how innovations become known and are spread throughout a social system over time

understanding and analysing decision making and interpersonal communication but helps put

Whenever a crosshair lands on the screen, it can turn one of more symbols into wilds, and potentially
trigger a free spins bonus. There will certainly be no complaints in that department. It is also possible
to turn entire reels with this crosshair feature.
Free spin bonus
The free spin bonus is the only one of the Bounty Hunt slot bonuses to take place on a second screen.
Players can trigger the free spins bonus via the crosshair feature, or they can target wanted posters
(scatters) to activate it. During the bonus, players will get 10 free spins during the feature, and they
can target crime bosses to bag frozen wilds for the remainder of the feature. Each boss you land is a
different wild, with four potentially very different wilds to land in this bonus.
Should I give it a whirl?
The big question is what are you after? In some cases, the new Bounty Hunt slot game is very
appealing. Its features certainly are both creative and clever. In other ways, though, this slot is a bit
messy. It runs slowly on older computers, and its imagery is rather rudimentary if thematically
acceptable. As long as you don t care about a dollop of the predictable in your slot games, then the
Bounty Hunt slot machine could be for you. At the very least, the slot is certainly not a bad effort by
any standard for such a small and new slot

The Findings After Testing Quantized Inertia On The Emdrive
The purpose of this article was to report the findings after testing quantized inertia on the EmDrive.
The authors predicted that the thrust produced by the EmDrive can be explained assuming that the
inertial mass of the photons is caused by unruh radiation. Multiple experiments took place in several
independent labs, and produced results that were similar to the predicted values for thrust. The
computations of the results did not sufficiently model wave oscillations in 3D, thus the authors
recommend further testing in order to produce more accurate findings.
The text is formatted as a journal article and has been peer reviewed. It was published on August 31,
2015, in Europhyiscs Letters, a journal founded in 1986 by the European Physical Society. The article
references multiple sources that are also academically reliable.
This source will be used to introduce one of the current theories attempting to explain how the
EmDrive produces thrust. The article also addresses the lack of scientific explanation which will help
to prove my own credibility in the report as I address a multitude of theories. Because the article was
published recently I will likely introduce this source last.

Reflections on Research Based Writing Essay
If we understand library users as readers who write, we should reflect on when and why they write.
Generally, most users in academic libraries engage in writing based on research or research based
writing. How are we to understand this particular genre that consumes so many users time and
instructors assessment.
Consider first what research based writing is not. It is not creative writing, although creative writers
will often research some aspect of their subject. It is not journalistic writing, although the journalist
makes steady use of sources. It is not writing for publication, since it seldom finds an audience of
more than five. It is not an essay, although it has a beginning, middle, and end. Eliminating these
options, what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author s opinions will be based on reasons and evidence, not emotions or hearsay. The author s
reasoning will follow the principles of Western reasoning, if only informally. The evidence used will
have a logical link to the reasons they support. Evidence itself will be a verifiable fact.
Furthermore, research based writing seeks a plausible (not conclusive) answer to a question of interest
to the readers. The overarching purpose for writing is to show why the reader should accept that
answer. This includes acknowledging and responding to possible alternative answers to the question.
Others ideas are used to find or support claims, reasons, or evidence but cannot to be presented as the
writer s own. Even though the writer may come to the same conclusion as others who have addressed
the issue before, he or she must present the answer and its supporting reasons as the product of an one
s own investigation, being careful to acknowledge when and how others contributions have been
utilized. The reader expects to see all this written in standard edited English with few (or no) errors in
spelling, grammar, or punctuation.
Often research based writing is a solitary exercise. For non academics and many librarians, research
based writing has been rarely practiced outside the classroom, and many of the processes may not be
familiar or practiced only informally. It requires a basic skill set that new students may have learned at

Theme Of The Power And The Glory By Green
As a catholic writer, Greene stands for Catholicism with its spiritual concept inside the individual. In
The power and the glory, he criticizes the ideological authorities, the church and the Marxist

comfort which they find only in religion. From an objective perspective, Greene presents the reality of
the two authorities; the church with its pride and deception, and the Marxist government with its

Ishmael a Novel by Daniel Quinn
In his novel Ishmael, Daniel Quinn discusses the destruction and salvation of the world. By way of a
newspaper ad, an unnamed narrator meets a telepathic gorilla, named Ishmael, who had put up the ad
to find a pupil with a desire to save the world. Spurred by his benefactor s obsession with Nazi
Germany, Ishmael imparts on the narrator what he knows best: captivity (Quinn 24). Ishmael claims
humans of what are considered civilized cultures are captives of a story that in turn keeps the world
captive. Ishmael calls this large group Takers, while he calls everyone else usually hunter gatherers of
primitive cultures Leavers (Quinn 39). In order to save the world, Ishmael believes Takers need to be

Researchers of the University of New Mexico found the time of the extinction coincided more with
colonization by humans than climate change and that hunter gatherers, such as the Clovis people,
hunted the mammals for food (Lyons et al 339, 351 252; Wroe et al 320). Although it could be argued
that they were Leavers by not exterminating their competition, they could have instead been hunter
gatherer Takers believing all large mammals were something to be conquered and owned as
agricultural Takers view the soil of the world.
Despite this romanticization of the hunter gatherer lifestyle, however, Ishmael isn t urging people to
become hunter gatherers to save the world nor is he saying all hunter gatherers are Leavers. Ishmael
says settlement and, by extent, agriculture is a biological adaptation, which can compete with other
adaptations and, thus, is subject to the laws of competition (Quinn 135). If hunter gatherer Takers can
exist, agricultural Leavers could too, or as Ishmael bluntly puts it, The Leaver lifestyle isn t about
hunting and gathering, it s about letting the rest of the community live (Quinn 250). As Leaver groups
typically find a lifestyle that suits them, Takers could invent a new lifestyle, incorporating agriculture
and settlement, to avoid the destruction of the world.

number of leaves plant 1 of broad bean plants. The results appeared that spraying of B on broad bean
plants resulted in a decrease in the number of leaves per plant, the lowest value of the number of
leaves plant 1 (132.2) was obtained from plants treated with 100 mg l 1, and there was no significant
effect among other levels of B.
4.1.1.4 Interaction Effects between Spacing and Humic Acid.
The statistical comparisons listed in Table (3) illustrated the presence of some interaction effects,
between spacing and HA on some vegetative growth characteristics of broad bean plants that resulted
in different relative responses for the various treatment combinations. These interaction effects may be

plant height and number of leaves per plant. In wide plant spacing 40 cm, the comparisons illustrated
that the increases in HA up to 1000 or 2000 mg l 1 were associated with significant decreases in the
plant height and number of leaves per plant, which was not exactly with spacing 20 and 30 cm.

The penny has a lot of history, through the 200 years the penny changed design and value. Based on
the article The Ever Changing Penny. The first pennies were minted in 1857, they were very large,
larger than a modern day quarter and had different images of the statue of liberty on the front(4). With
this example, one can see, there were several visions for the penny before the final product of the
Abraham Lincoln penny in 1909. The history of the penny reveals more than just a coin, it exposes a
piece of american culture. The penny has influenced our language, giving us a number of idioms, such
as A penny for your thoughts And Not one red cent (4). Despite its cultural influences the penny is
under attack currently, the reason? Because making the penny also costs money, more than its worth,in
2011, it costs the U.S. more than 2.4 cents to produce the penny. The History of the One Cent piece is
a curious one. How long it will remain a part of your spending currency is yet

Analysis Of The Hurt Locker And Skyfall
The scenes I have chosen for the final project come from the films The Hurt Locker (Kathryn
Bigelow, 2008) and Skyfall (Sam Mendes, 2012). The reason I chose these scenes is because they both
symbolize the effects of alcohol. The scene from The Hurt Locker involves the consumption of
alcohol by the soldiers, which changes their behaviors and actions. They transform from tough,
serious characters, to compassionate, childish characters under the influence of alcohol. In this
context, alcohol holds the power over the characters in this scene. Alcohol also plays a role of power
in the clip I chose from Skyfall; it is the glass of alcohol in this scene which influences Bond s
decision. Alcohol, as well as other elements of cinematography blend together to produce scenes
where power is the main theme. The scene that I selected from The Hurt Locker is titled Stuff That
Almost Killed Me. Here, we see three soldiers, who go by the names of Will, J.T., and Owen, bonding
after a long day at work. It is evident that they have all consumed a good amount of alcohol; the bottle
on the table they sit around gives us this clue, in addition to the way the characters are speaking. Next,
we see J.T. going through a box of items that belong to Will. As he picks each item up from the box,
J.T. asks why Will kept these war items under his bed. Will describes the significance of each one,
followed by saying that these are all things that almost killed him. After they disagree about the
significance of the items Will kept, J.T. and Will get up and throw punches at each other, but just
joking around. The scene ends with J.T. laying on the floor in pain after being hit by Will. In Skyfall,
Bond is presented the challenge of shooting a shot glass off of a woman s head. In the glass, of course,
is alcohol, the element of power. Raoul (the bad guy) leads Bond to the back of an abandoned building
where a woman named Severine is tied up. Bond is offered a shot of alcohol, followed by the rules of
a little game presented by Raoul. He tells Bond that the two of them are going to see who can shoot a
glass off of Severine s head first. As Bond is handed a gun, the man behind him puts a gun to Bond s
head, and the music that was once playing

The other unpredictability that the Fed works with is the Money Multiplier; the factor by which the
Monetary Base will increase or decrease, for money that the Fed is releasing into or taking out of the
system. On the surface it may seem simple, it appears the Fed is trying to use the money supply as a
lever to keep the economy on the right track without de railing it. But on the contrary, it takes complex
analyses to find the balance between key macroeconomic variables in light of these ever changing
times. (Online Simulation)
_The Effects of Monetary Policy on the Economy_
Policy is implemented by raising and lowering the interest rate, affecting the demand for goods and
services from consumers and businesses alike. There are two types interest rates, real rate of interest
and the nominal rate of interest. According to McConnell and Brue, p.146, The real interest rate is the
percentage increase in purchasing power that the borrower pays the lender. The nominal interest rate is
the percentage increase in money that the borrower pays the lender, including that resulting from the
built in expectation of inflation, if any. The interest rate affects both consumers and businesses
demand for goods and services. The consumers demand is affected by changes in real interest rates. If
this rate is increased, it alters the costs of borrowing on credit, banks availability to loan money,
household incomes, and foreign exchange rates. If real interest rates are lowered,

Maybe In Another Universe, I Deserve You
Gaby Dunn
What if, in another universe, I deserve you?
Hear me out. There s this philosopher from the 1890s named William James, and he coined this theory
about the multiverse which suggests that a hypothetical set of multiple universes comprises everything
that can possibly exist simultaneously.
Are you following? The entirety of space, time, matter and energy is all happening at once in different
timelines: It s the idea of parallel universes. Right? So okay, let s presume the multiverse is real.
Well then, maybe somewhere in those infinite universes is one, or several, where I deserve you.

Homeschooling Is More Beneficial For A Student
Times have drastically changed in the twenty first century, one of them being education. Many aspects
are considered when parents choose how they would like to educate their child. Aspects such as
academics, sports, learning accommodations, finances, student performance, and social life may all be
factors in the final decision. Over the past ten years, homeschooling has become increasingly popular
among Americans. According to Brian D. Ray from National Home Education Research Institute,
there are over 2.2 million homeschooled students in the United States. Although public schooling can
have its benefits, homeschooling is more beneficial for a student in today s society. Homeschooling,
also known as home education, is self explanatory. Home education is the educating of children or
students inside one s home, usually instructed by a parent or tutor. One of the most prominent reasons
for this is because of religious reasons. Other reasons may include, learning differences, family
reasons, or even educational/academic reasons. The most popular homeschooling styles include,
school at home, unschooling, Charlotte Mason, Montessori, relaxed/eclectic, classical, Waldorf, or
multiple intelligence. School at home is the most expensive method of schooling. It includes buying a
boxed curriculum that comes with textbooks, schedules, and a grade keeper. Unschooling is student
led, and the curriculum is based on real life experiences and does not use lesson plans or textbooks. It

Business, Industrialization And Monopolies During The...
Rapid growth of business, industrialization, and monopolies, contributed to the Industrial Revolution
in the United States during the Progressive Era. Following a policy of laissez faire failed to control big
businesses. Although some critics may believe that the government negatively impacted businesses
during the Industrial Revolution, the regulations put onto businesses positively contributed to
economic growth and protected the American citizens from the big businesses. Prior to the industrial
revolution in America, businesses were small, family owned, and generally did not cause many
problems. At the time, the largest enterprises only employed around 50 people ( Corporations ). With
only small businesses up to the 1870 s, the government was able to follow laissez faire policies.
However, the Industrial Revolution grew in Europe and quickly made its way to America. Businesses
rapidly began to grow and monopolies formed. The need for railroads and transportation supported the
growth of industries ( Corporations ). The railroads made it easy to transport manufactured goods
across the nation ( Industrial ). Robber barons, John Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and J.P. Morgan,
took advantage of the need for new industries and quickly began to ruin the country; their monopolies
controlled everything. The formation of monopolies and trusts eliminated competition and drove
prices of basic items up (Benson). Consumers began to have only one expensive option for the

World Beer Consumption

Written Assignment: The World Beer Industry
Beer Around the World Approximately, 100 billion liters of beer are consumed around the world every
year (Olfir, 2007). The worldwide growth rate of beer consumption has been recorded for the past 19
years (Kirin Holdings, 2005). This, however, is not to say that the beer consumption around the world
is alike. The alcoholic beverage consumption levels around the world and the rates at which these
increase vary from one country to another. For example, in India the annual consumption of beer is .5
litters per capita (Gupta, 2007), where as in Czech Republic, the consumption of beer is 156.9 liters
per capita per year ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the industry could possibly help the economic stability of a country, I believe it does a
greater harm to the different nations. I believe that one possibly solution that would allow the beer
industry to prosper without causing much harm, is if as they enter a nation to introduce their product,
they help create programs that educate people on the consumption of alcohol. I believe that if people
are educated on the subject matter and know the consequences of drinking this product, they will
continue to consume the beverage but being more responsible. This, in my opinion, will not have a
negative affect on the beer industry. Another way that a nation can prevent the consequences of
alcohol consumption caused by worldwide brewers is by creating greater taxation or other barriers that
would hinder the production and selling of beer in their nation. This scenario, however, might be one
that the beer industry might one to avoid. Unlike my first suggestion, this would have a greater
negative impact on the industry. Such situation would lower sales in the given country affecting the
revenue of the company. I also believe that although the rate of alcohol consumption in many
developing countries is increasing, these rates will begin to slow down. Although, as mentioned
earlier, economy prosperity may help increase the levels of

Analysis Of Malcolm X English Language
In this article he laments the fact that his communicative knowledge was low and that he never
received a response from any of the letters he wrote to those outside of prison. This was where he
acknowledges his frustration about his language ability. He compared his ability to speak the English
language prior to his imprisonment with his prison attempts to communicate to different people and he
saw that the latter was vastly inferior to the former. He says, I became increasingly frustrated at not
being able to express what I wanted to convey in the letters I wrote... In the street I had been the most
articulate hustler out there I commanded attention... (pg.68). This realization provided the spark he
needed to start improving his language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He saw that he could not communicate effectively with his new intended audience and sought to see
where he could improve. By comparing his ability to his pre prison audience and how he
communicated with them, he found a strategy that would be effective (pg. 68). This was another thing
he did well. He was open minded enough to realize that his language use to his restricted audience
would not work with the people he was not trying to communicate. He was smart enough to realize
that he, not his audience, had to make the necessary changes if he was going to express his ideas in a
manner that was easy for them to understand. This ability is illustrated by his words, ...neither would I
replied to anyone writing me something as wild as the white man is the devil (pg. 67). There really is
not much weakness to this article as it does not leave out any vital details concerning his realization
that he needed to be better educated. The article is all about Malcolm X turning a weakness into a
strength which he later used for his future success. The points Malcolm X makes about learning one s
language are excellent. If one wants to communicate with others in an articulate and clear manner then
knowing one s native language is imperative. Especially if one wants or is expecting a well reasoned
response. He writes, It was because of my letters... starting to acquire some sort of homemade
education. (pg.68). In that essence it is easy to agree with Malcolm

Summary Of Jules Verne s France

PLACEHOLDER TITLE
Jules Verne, of France, was a prominent author who produced over 60 novels along with multiple
plays and short stories. Verne was born in February of 1828, amidst the Industrial Revolution, in a port
city called Nantes. An environment like this undoubtedly helped to spark Verne s near unquenchable
desire for adventure and travel, a key component of his life until its end in 1905. However, Jules Verne
experienced his share of bumps and potholes on his road to glory. Verne had moved to Paris to get a
degree in law, but shortly after he ended up working in the arts even with pressure from his parents to
continue his studies. With that door eventually closing Verne took up a job as a secretary and even a
stockbroker to support himself and his family. Finally finding a stable position, Verne and his wife
took roughly 20 trips to the British Isles, which ended up as a solid source for writing material. Verne
s thirst for adventure reached the point where he bought his own boat, drawing on his travels all the
way from British Isles to the Mediterranean to create more novels. The novels known as Journey to
the Center of the Earth and From the Earth to the Moon were influenced by Verne s experiences and
travels. Other titles such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and Around the World in Eighty
Days added to Verne s prestige. The pinnacle of his fame is tied to his main series of novels, the 54

Symptoms And Treatment Of Polio
In the summer of 1959 a seven year old came in from play feeling feverish and headachy. His mother
gave him aspirin (the drug of choice in that time) and put him to bed with what she imagined was the
flu. The next morning his condition had produced physical weakness in his legs. A visit to the doctor,
and a spinal tap, brought the devastating news: polio. He was rushed to the isolation ward of the
county hospital where his condition was judged to be very grave; the next morning, he could move
nothing but his head. This young boy, my great uncle Ken, spent his childhood years in and out of
hospitals, enduring surgeries, wheelchairs, leg braces, and years of physical therapy before he was
able to walk. Why, at a time when the Salk vaccine was available, did my great grandmother, a woman
totally dedicated to the welfare of her children, choose not to vaccinate him against what was then the
great terror of childhood?

for women is going to be raised from 60 to 65 between 2010 and 2020 and the pension age for both

government also plans to make it easier for older people to get jobs by controlling age discrimination.
This will get older people into work but not for a great deal of time and therefore just prolongs the

The Pros And Cons Of Agent Orange
Agent Orange: An Herbicide with Agency The war in Vietnam was, and continues to be, one of the
most controversial hot button topics in American history. The military s use of dangerous pesticides,
like Agent Orange, is a major part of this controversy. Agent Orange is a defoliant that was widely
used to deforest dense jungle areas to reduce both hiding places and food sources for the Vietnamese.
During the war, American B 52 bombers released over nineteen million gallons of Agent Orange over
the Vietnamese countryside. After ten years of continuous dumping, 1971 finally marked the end of
America s use of Agent Orange and other herbicides. In 1974, the United States government, headed
by Richard Nixon, swore the country would never again use chemical weapons in a first strike. (Levy
and Scott Clark)
That announcement came too late for many Vietnam War veterans and survivors. In addition to the
ethical implications of intentionally eliminating the jungle as a resource, the use of Agent Orange
created other side effects for both civilians and American military members. Exposure to Agent
Orange has been linked to over fourteen serious health issues, including diabetes and many types of
cancer, as well as thousands of birth defects. (Ha) Over the next five years, U.S. veterans began
experiencing symptoms, such as asthma, chronic rashes, and various cancers, as well as an increase in
the number of children born with Down syndrome or spina bifida due to Agent Orange exposure.

Validation of the Enterprise Ontology and Information Security Capability Driven Framework is
obtained from the creation of a business strategy to business capability value map and quantification

The Iron Curtain was the term used in the West to refer to the boundary line, which divided Europe
into to separate areas of political influence. This was set up from the end of World War Two until the
end of the Cold War. During this period, Eastern Europe was under control and influence of the Soviet

Roosevelt and Stalin had got on well but at Potsdam the new USA leader, President Harry Truman had
adopted a policy of get tough on Stalin and Russia. Disagreements had taken place over a range of
issues. The USSR did not keep its promise about holding free elections in Eastern Europe. The USA
also dropped the atom bomb on Japan without consulting the USSR. Stalin was very irritated that
Truman did not tell the USSR about the atomic bomb until the last minute. This created a belief in the
USSR that the bombs had been dropped as a warning to the Russians.
In 1946, Britain and the USA agreed to unite their zones in Germany for economic purposes. But this
idea was not taken well in the USSR. Not only were the Western allies acting without the agreement
of the Soviet Union, but also they were planning to rebuild Germany, when Stalin wanted to keep it as

Stalin built the Iron Curtain; it was a thousand mile fence cutting off the communist countries of

All of my life, I loved exploring and finding beautiful places. I loved climbing that mountain, getting

During the summer, I went to a nearby park called Prophetstown. It s a park with a recreated farm

feet deep, and at least a quarter mile in length. I slid down . After that I threw rocks at the 30 foot cliff,
which made some of the rocks in it fall down. I did this until there was a noticeable pile of pebbles
surrounding me. I decided to go explore further into the pit, where I found more piles of gravel, as
well as bulldozers and shovels. Eventually I found an opening that led to a swamp. The mud near the
water made your feet sink into it, and the rest of the land was covered in hard bamboo like plants,
making me forced to step through the wet and slimy mud. After some time, A dock came into view,
and I stepped on, my once new shoes covered in mud. The dock had a canoe attached to it, full of
emergency supplies such as a flare gun, food, and water. It didn t make much sense to me because the

and factor markets involves the principle of derived demand. Derived demand refers to the demand for
productive resources, which is derived from the demand for final goods and services or output. Firms
obtain the inputs or factors of production in the factors markets. The goods are sold in the products
markets. In most respects these markets are the same. Price is determined by the interaction of supply
and demand, firm s attempt to maximize profits, factors can influence and change the equilibrium
price and quantities bought and sold and the laws of supply and demand hold. Consumers
(households), in pursuit of their self interest, have the incentive to look for lower prices. An incentive
is the hope of reward or fear of punishment that encourages a person to behave in a certain way. Free
market offer a wider variety of goods and services, and consumers in essence decide what gets
produced which is called consumer sovereignty. Additionally, Centrally Planned Economies usually
involve 2 types of government: Socialism which is a social and political philosophy based on the

Two Different Philosophical Views in Grendel and Beowulf...
Beowulf and Grendel are two tales similar in many ways, yet different from each other. These stories
are like a coin; you cannot have one side without the other. Just as the sides of a coin share the same
coin, these stories share a similar plot, a setting, and tell of the same events. The sides of a coin also
have differences as do Beowulf and Grendel. In the case of these two tales this difference is in their
respective philosophical views. Beowulf portrays the philosophical views of life that many people still
regard today. Those views helped to shape and define the ideal Dane in their culture. For example, the
traits looked for among the Danes were honesty, bravery, and humility. These three requirements in
the Danes were but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast to the Danes of Beowulf , Grendel searched for his very reason of existence by asking the
questions Why? and How? for answers. Grendel started off in the book struggling with finding
meaning in his life while watching the people clearly doing things that gave their lives meaning. He
became upset as he saw that he couldn t deter their spirits no matter what he did and started to feel
jealous of their self found purpose. He realized that through various ways the people attained meaning.
In response to his confusion over their self discovered purpose, Grendel started listening to the Shaper
s words when he spoke to the people shaping their very beliefs which confused Grendel even more on
the meaning of life. After listening to the Shaper for a while, readers can see Grendel in a state of
contradiction. He started off killing people as a simple, bestial monstrosity but in the end he is shown
as quite intelligent and capable of choosing whether to kill or not. Soon, Grendel started seeking
answers to his questions from a dragon. The dragon s very philosophy on life was that there is no
meaning of life which started to influence Grendel. Upon Grendel s persistent questions of Why? , the
dragon told him You improve them, my boy! Can t you see that yourself? You stimulate them! You
make them think and scheme...You are, so to speak, the brute existent by which they learn to define
themselves

How Empathetic Can Improve Relationships
There are many ways that being empathetic can improve relationships between people and nations.
Empathy gives people the ability to understand other people feelings. People who share empathy with
others are understanding, helpful and open minded. Understanding each other s emotions can help
keep a relationship strong and healthy. One way that empathetic can improve relationships between
people is putting themselves in the other persons situation. When you put yourself in someone s shoes,
you start to understand where they are coming from. Which will avoid arguments and turmoil in that
relationship. As for nations, that can be a great way to avoid wars. Empathy gives people the chance to
help others because it gives them a clear understanding

Biological And Humanistic Approach To Personality
Biological and Humanistic ApproachePersonality is distinctive characteristics inherited and uniquely
possessed by each individual. It makes us very different in our emotions, thought patterns, as well as
our behaviors. The Creator God has given each of us a sense of uniqueness and there is no one else
like us. It means that there is a particular characteristic in our personality that will describe who we
are. As we studied personality, we found out there are eight crucial aspects in which will help us to
grasp the meaning of an individual s complex nature. Maslow (1982) wrote in his journal about his
self actualized friends, all at the top yet all limited; the top are far from perfect (p. 328). In this paper,
the discussion is about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When it came to the nature of human beings, it was best to be optimistic because the focus is primarily
on the ability of human beings having conscious and rational thinking. This way individual would be
able to achieve full potential and control biological urges. The viewpoint of the humanistic theory is
every person is responsible for his or her life and actions; they have a free will to change their
behavior and attitude. The biological theory relates the internal organs namely the brain and genes that
human beings have not controlled over. The humanistic approach fails to show the evil side of
individuals life.
Eysenck belief was the primary determinate of personality is genetics. All in all, if certain aspects of
personality are indeed based on biologically induced temperament, then we should expect to see such
differences in all cultures. Indeed, the introversion extroversion dimension does seem to appear

Abstract
Lee Iacocca is a businessman in the American automobile industry. He progressed up the ranks at Ford

Iacocca: An American Business Leader
Lee Iacocca was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on October 15, 1924. His parents immigrated to
America from Italy in the early 1900 s in search of the American dream. Lee s father was a
businessman with interests in restaurants, theaters, and a car rental agency. The car rental business is
what sparked Lee s interest in the automobile business. Lee did well in high school and was elected
president of his class in the ninth grade. After the election, he failed to stay in touch with his
constituency and lost the election in the second semester. He had forgotten the importance of shaking
hands and being friendly. It was one of his first lessons on leadership.
Lee graduated twelfth in his high school class of over nine hundred and set his sights on pursuing

The Art And Baroque Art Of Peter Paul Rubens
Peter Paul Rubens (b. Siegen, Germany, 1577; d. Antwerp, 1640) was a Flemish painter revered as the
most versatile and influential baroque artist of Northern Europe in the 17th century. Rubens s art
emphasizes the theory of artistic imitation, and blends features of the Italian High Renaissance and
Northern realism with elements from antiquity. Rubens specialized in making altarpieces, portraits,
landscapes, and history paintings of mythological and allegorical subjects. In his painting Venus and
Adonis, mid 1630s, Rubens juxtaposed Ovid s Metamorphoses (book X) and Titian s Venus and
Adonis, 1553 1554, to generate his own invention that relies on his theories of artistic imitation.
Rubens painting is predominantly influenced by, but not modeled after Titian s piece, which he copied
in Madrid in 1629. Rubens was born in the German town of Siegen, in Westphalia. His father, Jan
Rubens, a lawyer and alderman of Antwerp, had fled the Spanish Netherlands in 1568 with his wife,
Maria Pypelinckx, and four children to escape religious persecution for his Calvinist beliefs. After Jan
s death in 1587, the family returned to Antwerp, where young Peter Paul, raised in his mother s
Roman Catholic faith, and received a classical education. His humanist education seriously began with
his apprenticeship to Otto van Veen, with whom he probably worked with from 1594 to 1598. During
this period, Antwerp developed into an important center for the Counter Reformation due to a serious

The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill
Introduction
The Deepwater Horizon oil spill (also referred to as the BP oil spill) occurred in the Gulf of Mexico in
April of 2010. The spill had detrimental physical, chemical, and biological effects throughout
ecosystems in the Gulf of Mexico. The Deepwater Horizon oil spill being the largest accidental marine
oil spill in the history of the United States, makes it a very important event in US history. During the
event many coastal areas along the Gulf of Mexico were coated with oil, including the plants, animals,
beaches, etc. This directly affected coastal ecosystems in the Gulf, and as a result, impacted many
coastal economies: fishing industries, restaurants/food industries, tourism, and real estate. Many
coastal species were also affected (e.g. dolphins, shorebirds, and phytoplankton). These issues that are
associated with the spill, along with technology and the media, helped to support the anti BP
movement. Much research is still being done, and many long term effects of the oil spill are still
uncertain.
This paper will analyze the causation of the oil spill, and the actions BP took to stop the leak.
Controversial chemicals such as Corexit 9500 will be evaluated. Long term and short term
environmental impacts of the event will be analyzed. As mentioned above, the Deepwater Horizon oil
spill had social/economic impacts on Gulf States, this will also be evaluated. After the event, or post
spill, BP established environmental and political remediation efforts. A few

Persecuted Church
Horrifying evil shocks us into paralysis. That is the point of terrorism: not just to kill, but to
demoralize any opposition into hopelessness and inaction. As urgent as it is to document Christian
persecution in our time to shine a light on it, it s important too to understand that evil doesn t stand
unopposed. There are signs of hope: the heroic virtue of many Christians in the face of genocidal
attack; the help they have received from noble allies; and some signs that the tide may have turned and
things can get better.
Earlier this spring I heard Steve Wagner, the head of Solidarity with the Persecuted Church, give an
inspiring and informative presentation about the conditions of persecuted Christians in the hot spots of

Night by Elie Wisel and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck are both books that have differences and similarities in the relationships of their main characters. These characters are Elie and his father, which are two Jews trapped in a concentration camp for the book Night. The other book Of Mice and Men includes two other characters, who are Lennie and George. These two characters have very close friendship, and take care of each other. These two relationships differ and coincide, in how they treat each other, and in how they care for one another even when they don t have to. The quote relates to the relationship of Elie and his father by showing how they both felt the same burden about others. Lastly, another similarity between the relationships is how close they are throughout the novels. For example, one way is as mentioned earlier, they care for each other by feeling remorse when something happens to them such as in Night or when they do something that might put them in danger or make them ill. An example is when George says Lennie for God sakes don t drink so much. This relates to Elie and his father by showing us how they cared for each other s health. All of this shows that even if characters are from different novels there are still many qualities in their relationships that coincide. The relationship between Elie and his father, and the relationship between George and Lennie differed in many aspects. One example, of this is that George and Lennie from the novel Of Mice and Men had a relationship of tough love even though they cared for each other, compared to Elie and his father which still loved each other but were not so harsh on each other. For instance, George always would say I would be better off without you Lennie. Even though he was tough on him George still cared for him. Three women that knew him the best narrate Lue Gim Gong s story from three distinct cultures and three distinct points of view. They include his mother Sum Jui, his teacher Fanny Burlingame, and a friend that he makes named Sheba. Their contrasting perspectives are carefully interwoven from chapter to chapter. She sees Lue as her creation; others see him as her pet. In fact, he is more independent than she can accept. Rudely rejecting the possibility of a positive influence from his own family, she says how she made him as much of an improved variety of Chinaman as his salmonberry, cherry currant, and tomato were of plants (McCunn, 154). Fromm s book puts love into perspective. He begins with several facts with regards to the attitude in which people treat love. They are the problems of how to be loved, the object to love as well as the confusion between the initial experience of falling in love and the permanent state of being in love, which had a great impact on me, as far as thinking about what love is. Fromm asserts that love is an art, and says that to truly love, in all it s forms, you must possess Maturity, self knowledge; and Courage. Many people pursue objects of affection, or objects of love, and treat them as possessions. Fromm states that love is the ability to love in different forms, brotherly love, romantic love, motherly love etc. Since Fromm says that love is an art to be practiced, it can only be practiced in freedom with one another. You can not treat others as objects or possessions for your own egotistical or selfish purposes because this behavior will only result in destruction and you will never mow or attain true love. Erikson s psychosocial stages of development states that in order to find intimacy and know who you are, you must resolve your conflict in the Identity vs. Role Confusion Stage. Some individuals who never find true love can be thought of as not having successfully completed the stage. They never resolved their conflict thereby resulting in role confusion. Fromm states that in order to love, you must have self love. How can you love yourself, if you don t know who you are? This is what I feel creates the possessive love, the hurtful love, and the love that is taken for granted. It s the one nightstand; I ll call you love. • 10. Explain The Two Step Flow Theory The Two Step Flow theory dates back to the 1940s where Paul Lazarsfeld, Bernard Berelson and Hazel Gaudet wrote a book called People s Choice that summarized the analysis of the November 1940 Presidential elections. The research revealed that people are more likely to be influenced by other people rather than the mass media. They called these other people; opinion leaders. (Scannel, 2007). The theory is a key theory in understanding people s decision making processes, in this case being the voting behaviours. The theory suggests that firstly, opinion leaders pay close attention to mass media and then they pass on their interpretation of media messages to the public, influencing their decisions. Unlike the hypodermic needle theory, the two step flow theory acknowledges that audiences are active participants in the communication process and are seen as a part of the society. The authors predicted that the thrust produced by the EmDrive can be explained assuming that the inertial mass of the photons is caused by unruh radiation. Multiple experiments took place in several independent labs, and produced results that were similar to the predicted values for thrust. The computations of the results did not sufficiently model wave oscillations in 3D, thus the authors recommend further testing in order to produce more accurate findings. • 21. Analysis Of The Hurt Locker And Skyfall The scenes I have chosen for the final project come from the films The Hurt Locker (Kathryn Bigelow, 2008) and Skyfall (Sam Mendes, 2012). The reason I chose these scenes is because they both symbolize the effects of alcohol. The scene from The Hurt Locker involves the consumption of alcohol by the soldiers, which changes their behaviors and actions. They transform from tough, serious characters, to compassionate, childish characters under the influence of alcohol. In this context, alcohol holds the power over the characters in this scene. Alcohol also plays a role of power in the clip I chose from Skyfall; it is the glass of alcohol in this scene which influences Bond s decision. Alcohol, as well as other elements of cinematography blend together to produce scenes where power is the main theme. The scene that I selected from The Hurt Locker is titled Stuff That Almost Killed Me. Here, we see three soldiers, who go by the names of Will, J.T., and Owen, bonding after a long day at work. It is evident that they have all consumed a good amount of alcohol; the bottle on the table they sit around gives us this clue, in addition to the way the characters are speaking. Next, we see J.T. going through a box of items that belong to Will. As he picks each item up from the box, J.T. asks why Will kept these war items under his bed. Will describes the significance of each one, followed by saying that these are all things that almost killed him. After they disagree about the significance of the items Will kept, J.T. and Will get up and throw punches at each other, but just joking around. The scene ends with J.T. laying on the floor in pain after being hit by Will. In Skyfall, Bond is presented the challenge of shooting a shot glass off of a woman s head. In the glass, of course, is alcohol, the element of power. Raoul (the bad guy) leads Bond to the back of an abandoned building where a woman named Severine is tied up. Rapid growth of business, industrialization, and monopolies, contributed to the Industrial Revolution in the United States during the Progressive Era. Following a policy of laissez faire failed to control big businesses. Although some critics may believe that the government negatively impacted businesses during the Industrial Revolution, the regulations put onto businesses positively contributed to economic growth and protected the American citizens from the big businesses. Prior to the industrial revolution in America, businesses were small, family owned, and generally did not cause many problems. At the time, the largest enterprises only employed around 50 people ( Corporations ). With only small businesses up to the 1870 s, the government was able to follow laissez faire policies. However, the Industrial Revolution grew in Europe and quickly made its way to America. Businesses rapidly began to grow and monopolies formed. The need for railroads and transportation supported the growth of industries ( Corporations ). The railroads made it easy to transport manufactured goods across the nation ( Industrial ). Robber barons, John Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and J.P. Morgan, took advantage of the need for new industries and quickly began to ruin the country; their monopolies controlled everything. World Beer Consumption Claudia Ruiz October 3, 2011 MGMT 80 International Business Written Assignment: The World Beer Industry Beer Around the World Approximately, 100 billion liters of beer are consumed around the world every year (Olfir, 2007). The worldwide growth rate of beer consumption has been recorded for the past 19 years (Kirin Holdings, 2005). This, however, is not to say that the beer consumption around the world is alike. The alcoholic beverage consumption levels around the world and the rates at which these increase vary from one country to another. For example, in India the annual consumption of beer is .5 litters per capita (Gupta, 2007), where as in Czech Republic, the consumption of beer is 156.9 liters per capita per year ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the industry could possibly help the economic stability of a country, I believe it does a greater harm to the different nations. I believe that one possibly solution that would allow the beer industry to prosper without causing much harm, is if as they enter a nation to introduce their product, they help create programs that educate people on the consumption of alcohol. I believe that if people are educated on the subject matter and know the consequences of drinking this product, they will continue to consume the beverage but being more responsible. This, in my opinion, will not have a negative affect on the beer industry. Another way that a nation can prevent the consequences of alcohol consumption caused by worldwide brewers is by creating greater taxation or other barriers that would hinder the production and selling of beer in their nation. This scenario, however, might be one that the beer industry might one to avoid. Unlike my first suggestion, this would have a greater negative impact on the industry. Such situation would lower sales in the given country affecting the revenue of the company. I also believe that although the rate of alcohol consumption in many developing countries is increasing, these rates will begin to slow down. Although, as mentioned earlier, economy prosperity may help increase the levels of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of Malcolm X English Language In this article he laments the fact that his communicative knowledge was low and that he never received a response from any of the letters he wrote to those outside of prison. This was where he acknowledges his frustration about his language ability. He says, I became increasingly frustrated at not being able to express what I wanted to convey in the letters I wrote... By comparing his ability to his pre prison audience and how he communicated with them, he found a strategy that would be effective (pg. 68). This was another thing he did well. He was open minded enough to realize that his language use to his restricted audience would not work with the people he was not trying to communicate. He was smart enough to realize that he, not his audience, had to make the necessary changes if he was going to express his ideas in a manner that was easy for them to understand. This ability is illustrated by his words, ...neither would I replied to anyone writing me something as wild as the white man is the devil (pg. 67). There really is not much weakness to this article as it does not leave out any vital details concerning his realization that he needed to be better educated. The article is all about Malcolm X turning a weakness into a strength which he later used for his future success. The points Malcolm X makes about learning one s language are excellent. If one wants to communicate with others in an articulate and clear manner then knowing one s native language is imperative. Especially if one wants or is expecting a well reasoned response. Verne was born in February of 1828, amidst the Industrial Revolution, in a port city called Nantes. An environment like this undoubtedly helped to spark Verne s near unquenchable desire for adventure and travel, a key component of his life until its end in 1905. However, Jules Verne experienced his share of bumps and potholes on his road to glory. Verne had moved to Paris to get a degree in law, but shortly after he ended up working in the arts even with pressure from his parents to continue his studies. With that door eventually closing Verne took up a job as a secretary and even a stockbroker to support himself and his family. Finally finding a stable position, Verne and his wife took roughly 20 trips to the British Isles, which ended up as a solid source for writing material. Verne s thirst for adventure reached the point where he bought his own boat, drawing on his travels all the way from British Isles to the Mediterranean to create more novels. The novels known as Journey to the Center of the Earth and From the Earth to the Moon were influenced by Verne s experiences and travels. Other titles such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and Around the World in Eighty Days added to Verne s prestige. The military s use of dangerous pesticides, like Agent Orange, is a major part of this controversy. Agent Orange is a defoliant that was widely used to deforest dense jungle areas to reduce both hiding places and food sources for the Vietnamese. During the war, American B 52 bombers released over nineteen million gallons of Agent Orange over the Vietnamese countryside. After ten years of continuous dumping, 1971 finally marked the end of America s use of Agent Orange and other herbicides. In 1974, the United States government, headed by Richard Nixon, swore the country would never again use chemical weapons in a first strike. In addition to the ethical implications of intentionally eliminating the jungle as a resource, the use of Agent Orange created other side effects for both civilians and American military members. Rubens specialized in making altarpieces, portraits, landscapes, and history paintings of mythological and allegorical subjects. In his painting Venus and Adonis, mid 1630s, Rubens juxtaposed Ovid s Metamorphoses (book X) and Titian s Venus and Adonis, 1553 1554, to generate his own invention that relies on his theories of artistic imitation. Rubens painting is predominantly influenced by, but not modeled after Titian s piece, which he copied in Madrid in 1629. Rubens was born in the German town of Siegen, in Westphalia. His father, Jan Rubens, a lawyer and alderman of Antwerp, had fled the Spanish Netherlands in 1568 with his wife, Maria Pypelinckx, and four children to escape religious persecution for his Calvinist beliefs. After Jan s death in 1587, the family returned to Antwerp, where young Peter Paul, raised in his mother s Roman Catholic faith, and received a classical education. • 45. The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Introduction The Deepwater Horizon oil spill (also referred to as the BP oil spill) occurred in the Gulf of Mexico in April of 2010. The spill had detrimental physical, chemical, and biological effects throughout ecosystems in the Gulf of Mexico. The Deepwater Horizon oil spill being the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history of the United States, makes it a very important event in US history. During the event many coastal areas along the Gulf of Mexico were coated with oil, including the plants, animals, beaches, etc. This directly affected coastal ecosystems in the Gulf, and as a result, impacted many coastal economies: fishing industries, restaurants/food industries, tourism, and real estate. Many coastal species were also affected (e.g. dolphins, shorebirds, and phytoplankton). These issues that are associated with the spill, along with technology and the media, helped to support the anti BP movement. Much research is still being done, and many long term effects of the oil spill are still uncertain. This paper will analyze the causation of the oil spill, and the actions BP took to stop the leak. Controversial chemicals such as Corexit 9500 will be evaluated. Long term and short term environmental impacts of the event will be analyzed. As mentioned above, the Deepwater Horizon oil spill had social/economic impacts on Gulf States, this will also be evaluated. After the event, or post spill, BP established environmental and political remediation efforts. A few ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are signs of hope: the heroic virtue of many Christians in the face of genocidal attack; the help they have received from noble allies; and some signs that the tide may have turned and things can get better. Earlier this spring I heard Steve Wagner, the head of Solidarity with the Persecuted Church, give an inspiring and informative presentation about the conditions of persecuted Christians in the hot spots of Iraq, Syria, and ...
