Disadvantages Of Sexual Reproduction
Reproduction is divided into two categories: Sexual and Asexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction
is the combination of two sex cells while asexual reproduction is the division of the cell into
smaller genetically identical copies.Sexual reproduction is vital process of life. Although it has
many advantages, it also has some disadvantages. Life Ascending: The Ten Great Invention of
Evolutionby Nick Lane, a British biochemist explains the path of evolution. This work received
the Royal Society Prize for Science Books prize in 2010. The author has a PHD in biochemistry
and was an honorary researcher for the University College London. This suggests that he is reliable
as he has the highest possible qualification in his field, the PHD. The purpose of this critique is
analyze the theories about the importance of sexual reproductionand the advantages and
disadvantages of both forms of reproduction.
Sexual reproduction also has some disadvantages. For example, it causes harmful mutations such
as diseases, illnesses and birth defects. (Lane,N, 2009). STDs or Sexually Transmitted Diseases
are a massive risk to sexually reproducing populations as the mating process is the ideal time for
the transmittance of parasites and pathogens. Another disadvantage is that the birthing and rearing
process is lengthy. Additionally, the process of finding a mate is difficult.(Lane,N,
2009).Furthermore, pregnancy is not guaranteed after the mating process. This causes the 2:1
demography disadvantage where only 50% of the sexual population can produce offspring.
Similarly, only 50% of the parent s genes are passed on as during the combination of genes, half
of the successful genes are disrupted. If a sexually reproducing species expands an unsustainable
rate, it would wreak havoc on the ecosystem and it food chain. As a result, this may result in the
extinction of that species. This phenomenon is called by the J which is the point where the
population of a species may be decimated unexpectedly after reaching its population cap.
Furthermore although the males of some species go to great lengths to attract a mate, it also has the
unfortunate effect of drawing attention to them from predators. An example is the peacock. It has a

Master Cleanse Research Paper
TThe Master Cleanse: Is it the Real Deal? Ever heard of losing ten pounds in ten days? The
Master Cleanse claims this to be true. The Master Cleanse, also called the Lemonade Diet, is a
liquid only diet consisting of three things: a lemonade like beverage, salt water drink, and herbal
laxative tea. The diet consists of consuming nothing but this lemonade drink for ten days (or
more) and you re supposed to shed weight and detox your digestive system. All in all, the Master
Cleanse is claimed and intended to make people healthier, feel more energetic, and happier.

In the words of Maura Shenker, You may also suffer digestive issues because of the constant
flushing of your system, which can damage healthy probiotic bacteria that aid digestion and help
keep your immune system strong (3). This quote justifies the master cleanse could have danger to
your digestive system and normal bodily functions. According to Tina Rubin who wrote Mastering
the Master Cleanse , Detox symptoms include irritability, aches and pains (including caffeine
headaches), lethargy, and eliminations that burn. Many of the symptoms disappear the next day.
After day three, most people experience no more detox symptoms until day seven or eight, and then
it s smooth sailing. Other than on symptom days, people report having unusual energy, strength,
and clarity that continues throughout the cleanse (3). There seems to be a lot of symptoms that go
along with this detoxing diet but seems to possibly be worth it in the long run. It may only do that
for some people and not others though. The diet could potentially come with several symptoms
aches and pains. If people claim to that going through the pain and not eating was tolerable then it

The Boston Tea Party Was A Fair Protest By The Colonists
Thesis:
I believe that the Boston Tea Party was a fair protest by the colonists because the King of England
was using the colonists for profit, and not treating them like real people by not listening to their
outcries for help. Thus, the Boston Tea Party was the only way to get the King s attention and bring
attention to how unfair the acts were to other colonists.
What did the Tea Actsay? (1) The Tea Act said two things. First, it stated that the amount of
actions needed to go through customs would be reduced for anyone exporting tea to the British
colonies as said in the fifth paragraph of the act, ...and to export such tea to any of the British
colonies or plantations in America, or to foreign parts, discharged from the payment of any
customs or duties whatsoever; any thing in the said recited act, or any other act to the contrary
notwithstanding. (SFI 1, americanhistory.abc clio.com). This part of the act was an attempt to save
the nearly bankrupt East India Company, which had played a big role in the British victory over
France in the Seven Year War by taking over multiple French settlements. The second thing the act
stated was that there would be a new tax on the tea for the American colonists. The British thought
that because the act would actually reduce the price of tea, even with the tax, the American
colonists would accept this new act. The act backfired and actually just fueled the colonist s anger
toward the British Crown as they were being taxed without

Personality psychology is a broad branch of psychology that looks at various different personality

The Time Of My Father Essay
The time in which I was born was very different than the one my parents had to live in when they
were children. I was born in a small town in Colombia, where no more than a hundred families
lived. The entire population of my hometown was Catholic. There was a small chapel next to my
house and the priest went there once a month to celebrate Mass. He and the seminarians stayed
at our home, when they went for the Holy Week and Christmas missions. On Saturdays, my
brother and I went to a town an hour away afoot or 20 minutes on a horse, to have further studies.
Ninety percent of that town s population were Pentecostal and only 10 % were Catholic. There
was a big Pentecostal Church in the middle of the town and a small Catholic church outside the
village. My brother and I went to study there on Saturdays because the Pentecostals offered to us
a couple of American godparents who sent us gifts twice a year from the US. Nonetheless, to get
those gifts we had to attend school on Saturdays, take pictures with the gifts in our hands, and
attend the Pentecostal service once a year. During that service, my brother and I laughed the
whole time at the people dancing in the church. My aunt, the only Pentecostal member of a family
of twelve siblings, got embarrassed for our behavior every time we attended the service. It was
very interesting to grow up in a country where almost all the population were Christians and, at
least at that time, 92 percent of the 45 million Colombians reported

Pride And Prejudice By George Wickham
Many works of literature contain a character who intentionally deceives others. The character s
dishonestly may be intended either to help or to hurt. In Pride and Prejudice, written by Jane
Austen, George Wickham deceives the characters within the novel. Wickham fooled the Bennet
family, especially Lydia, and attempted to fool Mr. Darcy and his young, innocent sister. Wickham
purposefully lied to these characters to benefit himself and continue to live in his lavish lifestyle. At
the beginning of the novel, Wickham was perceived as a well spoken and charming member of the
militia who readily gained the trust of Elizabeth Bennet. Elizabeth begins to like him and
eventually, she makes the mistake of trusting him. Wickham tricked Elizabeth... Show more content

The letter states that Darcy did provide Wickham with the money Darcy s father left for him,
but Wickham gambled away his money and was left with nothing, causing him to greedily ask
for more. When he was denied by Darcy, Wickham conjured up a plan to trick Georgiana, Darcy
s little sister, into marrying him. Wickham hoped to convince Georgina to elope with him so he
could steal her inheritance, which is the main reason for the hostility between Darcy and
Wickham. This letter reveals to Elizaebth how Wickham managed to infiltrate her life and
deceive her into falling for his charm. As seen in the letter, ...She tried to recollect some instance
of goodness, some distinguished trait of integrity or benevolence, that might rescue him from the
attacks of Mr. Darcy; or at least, by the predominance of virtue, atone for those casual errors
under which she would endeavour to class what Mr. Darcy had described as the idleness and vice
of many years continuance. But no such recollection befriended her... , Elizabeth tried to think of a
time where she felt as Wickham was a truly genuine and good person, but alas, she could not.

Informative Paper on Weight Watchers
The Ideal Diet No one is happy with their body; there is always something that they would like to
tone up or slim down. Americans spend billions of dollars a year on weight loss programs, not to
mention the food that these programs require you to eat. With most of these diets, one cannot
continue on with them because the diet just would not be healthy to do so. It would be amazing
for a diet to let you eat things you eat now, but still lose weight; to be able to go out and enjoy
dinner with family and friends without fearing a diet choice that has already been made. Well,

Weight Watchers was designed so that people can take charge of their lives and their weight
without having to suffer with horrible tasting food or having a constant rumbling stomach. Not
only does it help people lose weight but it helps them be conscious about what they eat and how
healthy something really is. Once they start to see pounds shedding off and their waist size
shrinking, they will begin to eat better and change their life styles. This is not just a diet for
when someone is over weight. This is a diet for a life time. It will continue to help a person
achieve and maintain a healthy weight without having to cut out some of their favorite foods,
fattening or not. Weight Watchers has activity points just like they do regular food point. This
also comes with a nifty slider so that when someone goes to the gym or even goes for a walk,
they can calculate how intense it was to how long they participated in this activity for and gain
activity points which give people all the more motivation to get out there and be active. They can
then turn around and trade these points in for food points. In conclusion, this is by far the best diet
program out there. They do not try to put products or medications in your body that can in the long

Enslaved African Americans
Consuming natural remedies to recover from ailments appeared to be a very significant and
common practice amongst enslaved African Americans and Native Americans. In the article
Indians, Europeans and the New World Disease, Calloway thoroughly describes how the native
American people were accustomed to plant life, therefore used nature and wildlife to their
advantage to create healing remedies. African American slaves also used plants to make tea. These
means were extremely excellent precautions for preventing illnesses or for fighting one.Despite all
of this the Native American people still got sick due to the lack of respiratory hygiene. The
Europeans brought a number of germs and diseases with them, that surely turned into great
outbreaks. Many Indians contracted these diseases and died, ironically enough the Indian
individuals who acquired the disease have not yet met a European. The ailment was passed on

The Female Gaze in Art History
Thesis: Women have come a long way alongside men in presenting art in various forms, but
while artistic expression has been based from the male perspective and sexuality, female artists
are becoming more outspoken in their art forms challenging viewers to look beyond the physical
form and go deeper into its meaning. Down through the historical years of art the human body
has been the subject of intrigue and delight. While the display of the nude body has always
bought about controversy for one reason or another, the controversy is only as it applies to the
female nude. Not too much is ever focused on the nude body part of men, but female nudity
causes quite the stir, especially from male viewers. As I delve into this art form of female gaze, it
might be helpful to take a look at the male gaze as it applies to substantiating the female gaze.
The notion of the male gaze has both a literal and a figurative component. Literally the gaze is
male when it involves looks from the male species as a spectator or a participant in the work
itself. Figuratively the male gaze is often involving a female as the object. In Laura Mulvey s words,
man is the bearer of the gaze, woman its object. Laura Mulvey, Visual Pleasure and Narrative
Cinema (1975). An underprivileged object I might add. In my opinion male and female gaze is not
just about the features within artistry, but

Ethics, The Solicitors Regulation Authority
Throughout the world ethical belief systems have been created amongst societies, organisations
and various professions. The largest built ethical systems exist amongst societies. To create and
be a part of civilised society individuals must choose to act in ways that further the common good
of one another. Aristotelian ethical philosophies state law is crucial in making citizens virtuous .
Laws of conduct used to govern society are formed by what is perceived as virtuous and just. Legal
professionals are not only governed by laws of the land but are morally and legally constrained by
a stringent code of ethics, known as the SolicitorsRegulation Authority. There are ten principles
that focus on 5 main core responsibilities a solicitor has with their client, business, regulator,
others, application, waivers and interpretations. A legal professional must have self regulation and
high ethical standards amongst its defining characterises. A breach of ethical conduct is when an
act of professional misconduct is committed by a lawyer who does something dishonourable to
him as a man and dishonourable in his professional RE G MAYOR COOKE (1889). To behave
with Integrity is the most sacred principle to emerge from the legal profession. Aristotle s book of
Nonomanchien Ethics suggests ethical virtue is concerned with feelings and actions it is necessary
to have the right feelings at the right time and for the right purpose . The simplicity of this
philosophy cannot be

The Theory of Planned Behavior
The Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA)
TRA posits that individual behaviour is driven by behavioural intentions where behavioural
intentions are a function of an individual s attitude toward the behaviour and subjective norms
surrounding the performance of the behaviour. Attitude toward the behaviour is defined as the
individual s positive or negative feelings about performing a behaviour. It is determined through an
assessment of one s beliefs regarding the consequences arising from a behaviour and an evaluation
of the desirability of these consequences. Formally, overall attitude can be assessed as the sum of
the individual consequence x desirability assessments for all expected consequences of the
behaviour. Subjective norm is defined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Subjective Norms (about the behaviour)
Subjective norms are a persons own estimate of the social pressure to perform the target behaviour.
Subjective norms are assumed to have two components which work in interaction: beliefs about
how other people, who may be in some way important to the person, would like them to behave
(normative beliefs). Perceived behavioural control
Perceived behavioural control is the extent to which a person feels able to enact the behaviour. It
has two aspects: how much a person has control over the behavior and how confident a person feels
about being able to perform or not perform the behaviour. It is determined by control beliefs about
the power of both situational and internal factors to inhibit or facilitate the performing of the
behaviour.
Direct measures and indirect (belief based) measures
With the exception of behaviour, the variables in the TPB model are psychological (internal)
constructs. Each predictor variable may be measured directly e.g. by asking respondents about
specific behavioural beliefs and outcome evaluations.
Direct and indirect measurement approaches make different assumptions about the underlying
cognitive structures and neither approach is perfect.
When different methods are tapping the same construct, scores are expected to be positively
correlated, so it is recommended that both be included in TPB

Competency Vs. Nursing Degree
Competency comparing nursing degrees Bhumika Chaudhari October 2015 Nebraska Wesleyan
University Abstract Nurses who graduates from Associate degree of nursing (ADN) or nurses
who graduates from Bachelors degree of nursing (BSN) are require to take same exam of
National council licensure examination (NCLEX) in order to become licensed registered nurse
(RN). Both of these degrees prepare nurses to care for patient in same level regardless of nursing
degree. Research done by Spetz and Bates in 2013, conveys that there is no difference in entry
level pay with having new ADN nurse or BSN graduate nurse and they both are expected to care
for same patient care areas. The institute of medicine (IOM) future of nursing reports requiring
80 percent of all Register nurses to have their BSN by 2020 (IOM, 2011). This evidence based

Reading Achievement Of Deaf And Hard Of Hearing
I.В¬Introduction This chapter provides an overview of the present study. First, reading
achievement and difficulties of students who are d/Deaf and hard of hearing (d/Dhh) are discussed.
Second, it justifies the theoretical framework of the study with three primary sources: Simple View
of Reading (Gough Tunmer, 1986; Hoover Gough, 1990), the National ReadingPanel (NRP, 2000),
and the Qualitative Similarity Hypothesis (QSH) (Paul, Wang, Williams, 2013). Next, Visual
Phonics is explained. Then this chapter introduces the purpose of the study and proposes three
research questions. It also briefly discusses the research methodology for gathering data relevant to
the questions. The last part of the chapter provides details about the key terms of the study.
a.Reading Achievement of d/Dhh Students Reading is an essential skill for social life and
academic success. Learning to read is a complex process. Some students learn to read effortlessly,
but others find it difficult. Reading difficulties of d/Dhh students are well documented. Most
students with severe to profound hearing loss graduate from a high school with approximately a
fourth grade reading level (Paul, 2009; Paul, Wang, Williams, 2013; Traxler, 2000; Wurst, Jones,
Luckner, 2005). Fourth grade reading level is considered functionally illiterate because the literate
reading level is a 5th or 6th grade (Paul, 1997), and the majority of students who graduate from a
high school are functionally illiterate.

Daytime talk television is certainly controversial. There are those who find these types of shows
informative and helpful. There are others who view these shows as pointless and inappropriate. I
agree with the latter. Daytime talk television is pointless and it presents material that should not
appear on television. I believe that some talk shows need to be removed from the airwaves and not

When looking at daytime talk television, once can see that there are two main styles, which are
apparent when looking at the content and manner at which they are presented. There are show like

Her format is always inspirational and positive. These two different forms are the main types of
daytime talk television.
I feel that daytime talk television is both a good thing and can also be negative in its attempts to
fight for ratings. Those shows that I believe should stay on television and continue to be run are
the positive ones that have a goal that is based on people as opposed to those based on money and
ratings. I believe Oprah is on of the only talk show hosts that does a good job in dealing with
people and their problems. As Merry Thomas said, Oprah deals with topics that touch peoples
hearts and she wants and tried to help those in need. She does several shows that are aimed at
inspiring and helping her viewers. This idea of helping people can be seen through her show
about family values. Oprah had Louie Anderson on the set, and he was discussing how fame has
put stress on his family and the relationships within the family. Louie talked about how he tries to
deal with his family and their constant desire for financial support. His brother came on, and
they discussed the problem in a calm, relaxed way and how it has strained their relationship. Her
kind of show is the kind we need more of on television. It was nice to see two people discuss a
problem as opposed to yelling and fighting about it. I like her style and her love of people. I think
that if a show is done in good taste and deals with

Essay on Rewriting History in Henry IV
Rewriting History in Henry IV
The master of historiography is, perhaps, Shakespeare as evidenced by his History Plays.
Whereas most writers merely borrow from history to fuel their creative fires, Shakespeare goes
so far as to rewrite history. The First Part of Henry the Fourth follows history fairly closely, and
Shakespeare draws this history primarily from Raphael Holinshed s Chronicle of England,
Scotland, and Ireland and from Samuel Daniel s verse epic The Civil Wars(Abrams 823).
The play opens shortly after Henry Bolingbroke has usurped the throne from Richard II, becoming
the fourth King Henry, and changing the royal lineage from the House of Plantagenet to the House
of Lancaster. In the opening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the most part, Shakespeare did indeed fabricate Falstaff, Poins, and the whole Tavern Group,
yet historical evidence does support some sort of provincial getaway. McFarlane records that in
1412 the younger Henry remained dissatisfied [with his father] and shortly afterwards withdrew
once more into the provinces, where he was soon again at his old tricks (110). Shakespeare
originally named the character of Falstaff after the Protestant martyr John Oldcastle. Shakespeare
eventually bowed to the objections of Oldcastle s descendants, renaming the character (Abrams
823).
At the Battle of Shrewsbury, Shakespeare describes how Hal kills Hotspur, eulogizes him
(5.4.78 102), and then concedes the victory of the kill to Falstaff (5.4.138 50). History records
that Hal himself suffered an arrow shot to the face (Rowse 44) and that no one knows for
certain who killed Hotspur (Jacob 52 3). History further records that, as for the eulogy, it was the
king who shed tears over Hotspur s slain figure, not the young prince (Rowse 45). Despite
Hotspur being three years older than Hal s father (Hotspur died at age thirty nine) (Rowse 44),
Shakespeare paints the portrait of Hotspur and Hal as contemporaries, following poet Daniel s lead
(Drabble 475). Rowse does note, however, that Shakespeare did capture the essence in Hotspur of
something not grown up about this fighting man, who

Analysis Of Carl Von Clausewitz s The Domino Theory
In On War, Carl Von Clausewitz stated, When whole communities go to war . . . the reason
always lies in some political situation, and the occasion is always due to some political object.
War, therefore, is an act of policy. Carl Von Clausewitz describes war as a true political instrument
carried out by other means. The United States policy on containment was an important motive in
analyzing their involvement in the civil war between North Korea and South Korea. President
Harry S. Truman was receiving increased domestic pressure not to appear soft on communism. The
United States chose to go to war in Korea to contain communism.
The Domino Theory was the idea that communism was an aggressive, expanding imperialism that
would spread from one country to the next and shaped United States policy on Asia during the Cold
War. The United States government used the Domino Theory to justify their support of a non
communist regime in South Korea against the communist government of North Korea. China
became a communist state in 1949 and President Truman feared the next domino would be Korea.
President Truman quantified, If we let Korea down, the Soviets will keep right on going and
swallow up one place after another.
In The Sources of Soviet Conduct, George F. Kennan explained Containment was the central post
war concept of the United States and its allies in dealing with the Soviet Union . To contain
communism, the United Stated strategy was to have a strong

Money Laundering
Throughout history, America and other global economies have consistently battled for equality and
fairness in their country. Many new legislations and laws have been implemented and added
throughout the years to adapt to the new technological advances each market has encountered. Even
so, the question of ethics has been raised weighing whether or not each new law meets the ethics in
business and morality. One important obstacle that is still at the forefront of new legislation and
posed for ethical evaluation is money laundering. Money laundering has survived the years through
questions of morality and lawfulness by adapting to rigorous restraints and finding new ways to
manifest itself in different segmentation forms of trade.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His beliefs are opposite of the general population. His overall view is that money laundering is
not a major crime and that we have imposed a form of double jeopardy for those violating these
particular crimes. He also believes that we should lessen the consequences because he believes
they are not linked to other crimes. Many illegal activities have been encouraged with money
laundering. It is much easier on our government to find perpetrators if money laundering was
absolved. By money laundering being absolved, our government would pick up on traffickers
easier because they would have no way of accounting for their large and unexplainable income. With
our government having specialty government services like the Internal Revenue Service, drug
traffickers would be detected faster because of unexplained purchases that are higher than their
recorded yearly income. Once that occurs the government would be able to isolate large
expenditures that traffickers usually use their funds for. Some examples would be lavish vehicles,
extravagant personal residences and large investments. To combat money laundering, FAFT issued

A person s sexual identity may seem like something obvious, something that should be an

simple, often finding that our sexual identity, is ever changing most of our lives. I have given my
own identity some thought and I find for me it wasn t easy. In this essay I will be discussing my

Some researchers state that genetics and environmental factors are important determining element
of homosexual behavior. They also state that birth place relates to the sexual orientationof marriage

some way or another either negative or positively by supporting or repressing it. It plays a role in

sexual behavior reflects trends that have been with us through the millennia or the customs of a

The Theme Of Loneliness In The Ascent By Ron Rash
Loneliness is usually a common and unharmful feeling, however, when a child is isolated his
whole life, loneliness can have a much more morbid effect. This theme, prevalent throughout Ron
Rash s short story, The Ascent, is demonstrated through Jared, a young boy who is neglected by
his parents. In the story, Jared escapes his miserable home life to a plane wreck he discovers while
roaming the wilderness. Through the use of detached imagery and the emotional characterization of
Jared as self isolating, Rash argues that escaping too far from reality can be very harmful to the
stability of one s emotional being. The isolated and desolate imagery throughout effectively conveys
Jared s extreme detachment from his surroundings. When... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While imagination is necessary in order to develop creativity and growth, too much escapism
can blur one s perception between reality and make believe, and arguably more important,
between right and wrong. After discovering a missing plane, most would report it to the
authorities and not be in close proximity to dead people for hours on end. Instead, Jared uses the
plane as a place to escape from the reality of his isolation, which is clearly a very disturbing and
unethical action. Rash uses these images of isolation and character development to demonstrate
that emotional instability is a potential danger of escapism. Furthermore, Rash describes the
emotional characterization of Jared to demonstrate the negative effect self isolation can have on
escapism. In the beginning of The Ascent, Jared is seen as an imaginative and innocent child,
albeit a little lonely. However, the tone dramatically shifts when Jared discovers the plane wreck

The Association Between Primary And Secondary Psychopathy...
This study used a correlation design to investigate the association between primary and secondary
psychopathy and cognitive empathy. 452 first year psychology students completed Levenson, Kiehl
and Fitzpatrick s (1995) Levenson self report Psychopathy scale (LSRP) and Baron Cohen,
Wheelwright, Hill, Raste and Plumb s (2001) Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET). A
significant negative correlation was found between primary psychopathyand empathy while the
correlation for secondary psychopathy and empathy was insignificant. From this it can be
concluded that primary psychopaths are worse at empathising than secondary psychopaths.
Association between Primary and Secondary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy
Psychopathy is a disorder which can be split into two subtypes, primary and secondary. Primary
psychopathy is typified by callous, manipulative, selfish and untruthful behaviour (Karpman, 1948,
as cited in Levenson, Kiehl Fitzpatrick, 1995). Secondary psychopathy is associated with anxiety,
introversion, low self esteem and moodiness (Blackburn Fawcett, 1999 as cited by Ali Chamorro
Premuzic, 2010). Cognitive empathy is described as the being able to understand and infer
emotions of others (Joliffee Farrington, 2004 as cited by Ali Chamorro Premuzic). Understanding
the association between Psychopathy and Empathy is an area of interest as it provides insight on
how to effectively rehabilitate psychopaths; if they are showing the

Daphne, A Naiad-Nymph Of The River Peneus
Daphne was a Naiad Nymph of the river Peneus in Thessalia and the daughter of the river god
Peneus. Nymphs were female spirits of the natural world and crafters of nature s beauty, from the
growing of the trees and flowers to the formation of wetlands, brooks, grottos, and springs. (Atsma)
Her father, the river god Peneus, was tried several times because Daphne would not accept any of
the handsome, eligible young men who wanted her. Her father would scold her by saying, Am I
never going to have a grandson? which Daphne would answer with Father, dearest, let me be like
Diana. . (Hamilton 119) Her father would surrender from these conversations and let her off into
the woods, which she had the freedom to do what she desired. Daphne became like Diana, also
known as Artemis, by living as a perpetual virgin and a wild huntress. Daphne is said to have been
Apollos first love, but it turned out to be a one sided love.
One day, Eros, the god of love, was taunted by Apollo, the god of prophecy, when he told Eros to
leave bows and arrows to those who were more capable of using them after he defeated Python.
(L.Roman and M.Roman 130) Eros wanted revenge and decided to shoot Apollo and Daphne
with arrows that had opposite reactions. Apollo was struck with a gold tipped arrow that made

How Did The Industrial Revolution Changed The Face Of Labour
The Industrial Revolution was the rise of new sources of energy, such as coal and steam, to power
engines to reduce human labor and increase production. The Industrial Revolution involved many
different factors that combined and formed the ultimate advancement that allowed England to
progress and industrialize. The move to a more industrial society changed the face of labor.
Historians have been debating this topic from every angles and have taken everything into
consideration. The Industrial Revolutionoccurred in England before India or China because of
Britain s geographical position, in confluence of the proximity of coal mines, allowing the colonies
to expand on their markets and to acquire accessible resources to enhance industrial production.

From 1842, Charles and his family began to travel throughout the world. Initially visiting Canada
and the United States. He later travelled to Italy, Switzerland and France.
After his tour of the US and Canada, he published American Notes which didn t go down well in
the US, being that, at that time, it was a relatively new nation and hadn t developed much of an
attitude or sense of humour to anti slavery. Alternatively it could have been that Charles expressed
an offensive attitude towards tobacco chewing, which, by his own account was practiced widely.
In 1845, Dickens founded an amateur theatrical company which he continued until the end of his
life and was to take up a great deal of his time. He later travelled with Wilkie Collins and Augustus

units, we begin to think on open minded approach when solving challenges elsewhere. Since I
worked in multinational company, I had to deal with people from different education level. That
was not a big problem for me because when I was in university, I realized that my university was
a representative of diversity itself. My university had more than 30 different majors, with most
of the students were men. I had to learn about how to work together with those diverse
circumstances everyday because when we discussed about something it ended up with a lot of
framing from different approaches. Then when I started to work, it was easier for me because I
have learnt before how to work with people from different backgrounds. I believe that accustomed

The Plan For An Integrative Negotiation
Introduction Negotiation is the process whereby people attempt to settle what each shall give and
take or perform and receive in a transaction between them as defined by Rubin and Brown (as
quoted in Stoshikj, 2014, p. 32). This action is usually held between two parties or more in order to
discover a common ground or reach a mutual agreement. It has come under the company s attention
that there are some unresolved issues regarding several different concerns such as air pollution,
water contamination and council land rates on company land in Mortlake, Queensland. Strategy
Implemented Overall, the integrative strategy will be implemented in most of the negotiating
process. Van Boven and Thompson (as cited in Dong Won, 2010) indicated that when both parties
are involved in an integrative negotiation, they get a more exact idea of what the other party desires
and increasing the possibility of mutual gain (p. 2). Furthermore, Pruitt; Thompson (as cited in Han,
Kwon, Bae Park, 2012) mentioned that the negotiators are able to benefit from the win win
situation, meanwhile preserving the relationship (p. 1). While both parties are trying to resolve the
current issues, maintaining a strong relationship is more important as both parties are reliant on
each other. The first issue, which is the deteriorating air quality, is connected to the absence of road
paving. While almost half of the roads are actually company owned and used to transport the
minerals, the council insisted

Dao De Jing
The Dao De Jing demonstrates the eternal, nameless and the substance of all things with an ever
flowing reality that has no end. Nothing is ever independent and always has an opposite. To
fully understand the chapters, it is good to know the meaning of the title itself; Dao De Jing
translates to The Book of the Way and Its Power (What Is Really Real, 439). One chapter that I
agree with is chapter 42, where one production leads to another naturally and gains more
complexity. Laozi calls this chapter the father of my teaching (Laozi, 446), I agree with his
statement because it shows how people don t like losing or gaining things, but how one thing can
lead to more and more and there s no changing this natural process. Tao produced the

which are assisting humans to live their life with more luxury for instance Artificial Intelligence
and social media as well. Nowadays, Artificial Intelligence is in routine use in various field and
it concentrates on providing solutions to real life problems to make it easier (Ferrari, Paladino,
Jetten, 2016). However, social media develop to a phenomenon that has triggered a shift in the
way the world communicates. The rapid pace of advances in technology has considerable
benefits and drawbacks. These will be discussed in this essay. In addition, this work aims to
clarify which technological advance is more dangerous to humans and evaluate the level of threat.
Most experts agree that Artificial Intelligence is on the increase in various fields. It has become
one of the most controversial scientific issues of the twenty first century. It raises the
unemployment rate, workers will not find enough jobs for them and some of them may lose their
work. As a result of technology, according to Wilson, Daugherty and Bianzino (2017), The threat
that automation will eliminate a broad swath of jobs across the world economy is now well
established. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems become ever more

Sustainable Growth and Economic Development
Economic growth has been used with other terms such as development, modernization,
westernization and industrialization. It is, in other words, a transition from a simple, low income
economy to a modern, high income economy. Its scope includes the process and policies by which
a nation improves the economic, political, and social well being of its people. Though it is often
measured by rate of change of gross domestic product, it is generally understood in terms of
increase in per capita income, and attainment of a standard of living equivalent to that of
industrialized countries.
Economic growth implies a change in the way goods and services are produced, not merely an
increase in production achieved using the old methods of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There are other views that consider environmental and social challenges as opportunities for
development action. This is particularly true in the concept of sustainable enterprise that frames
these global needs as opportunities for private enterprise to provide innovative and entrepreneurial
solutions. This view is now being taught at many business schools in the West.
Sustainable development is said to set limits on the developing world. It is being argued, while
current first world countries polluted significantly during their development, the same countries
encourage third world countries to reduce pollution, which sometimes impedes growth.
Sustainability requires that human activity only uses nature s resources at a rate at which they can
be replenished naturally. Theoretically, the long term result of environmental degradation is the
inability to sustain human life. Such degradation on a global scale could imply extinction for
humanity.
In the Indian context, infrastructure development is critical for sustainable growth. It is often noted
that poor infrastructure a lack of water and sanitation, shoddy roads, and unpredictable energy
supply constrains foreign direct investment and overall economic potential. A key issue is of
attracting private investors willing to participate in infrastructure projects given their complex and
risky nature.

Krishna s World View
The Bhagavad Gita uses the conversation between Pandava Prince Arjuna and his guide Lord
Krishna to portray Hinduism world view and Krishna s view on the different fundamental
questions. When he s facing a war, Arjunais guided by Krishna to be a selfless leader, and
dedication to the cause.
Origin, this fundamental question focuses on why is there something rather than nothing. One
important aspect of the Krishna world view is that, there is one ultimate reality in which everything
was already in existence. The Brahman, as the ultimate reality is known, is what manifested
anything that has been created. Thus, as it is stated in Rigveda, that existence was ... Show more

You cannot make out what exists in it, yet it is there. It is this very fineness which ensouls this
entire world, it is the true one, it is the soul. and Everything that exists has its self in that subtle
essence. (1.4 1 7) * Krishna pointed out in Bahagavad Gita that the impermanent has no reality ,
that the spirit was not born; it will never die and thus, the spirit kills not, not it will be killed.
(2.16) in the same section, he also described the ones who thinks a spirit kills and the ones who
think a spirit can be killed, are both ignorant. The spirit then in Krishna s view, is immortal and
everlasting. * As the prince asked Lord Krishna on whether he should kill for the war, Krishna
used the arguments above and more to show that there would be transcendence and so on, and
when a person is killed , his or her spirit would just throws away its worn out body and enters a new
one.
Krishna also addressed the issue of the attachment over reality. * Krishna pointed out that most
people are afraid of death, and that the ignorance described previously is what preventing them
from achieving immortality. Only those who have realized that the impermanent has no reality and
the reality lies in the eternal; and have seen the boundary between these two would have attained
the end of all knowledge. (Bahagavad Gita 2.15) * He sees that the human seeks only the
gratification of desire as the highest goal; seeing nothing beyond; (Swami 16) is being

Sparta was known in Greek as Sparti. The city lied at the southern end of the central Laconia
plain, on the right bank of the Eurotas River. Its population was about 100,000 and it was located
in the Laconia region. It had a fairly temperate but very dry climate. Sparta s also depended on
agriculture for their sustenance. They had a mandatory military service. Their system of leadership
was Oligarchic and their descendants were mostly the descendants of the Dorian invaders. Athens,
on the other hand, was the largest capital city of Greece. Its citizens were about 140,000. The region
in which Athens was situated was Attica. The city of Athens had a Mediterranean climate.
Athenians depended on trade and agriculture for survival. They did not have a military based

What Is The Example Of Nepotism
In Philippine politics, the ultimate goal is to have professional officials in the government so
that the country will be ruled properly and be successful. For this to be achieved, officials who
are in high positions should give power to those who are responsible enough and can prove that
they are worthy of their given position. But in reality, this ideal image is somehow violated
because of nepotism. Nepotism is defined as favoritism shown by somebody in power to relatives
and friends, especially in appointing them to good positions. Regardless of the capability and
capacity to work in the workplace, officials preferably appoints or promotes their relatives in good

This type of behaviour has become increasing popular among university and college students due
to the excessive marketing of energy drinks and alcohol (Matthew Cronin Craig S. Wright,
2005) Recent studies concerning college students suggest heavy episodic drinking continues to
be a major health problem that is associated with legal, academic and health problems. The
consumption of AmEDs has been receiving increased research attention due to its association
with heavy drinking (Lindsey Varvil Weld, Miesha Marzell, Rob Turrisi, Kimberly A. Mallett
Michael J. Cleveland, 2013). This recent phenomenon is concerning researchers as they
discover the related consequences of AmED use. Researchers use the Anticipated Effects of
Alcohol Scale (AEAS) in order to measure a comprehensive sampling that varied in positive and
negative effects, as well as high or low arousal in order to identify plausible outcomes of
drinking (Meghan E. Morean, Teresa A. Treat William R. Corbin, 2012). It has been estimated
that almost half of 18 24 year olds in Australia have consumed AmEDs and 10% consume them
weekly. 90% of adults, 83% of 13 17 year olds and 63% of 6 12 year olds consume caffeine daily.

rainforest was cleared between 1960 and 1990. It is also estimated that approximately 7.5 million
hectares of rainforest are being cut down each year. This is extremely unlikely to be replaced. The

Advantages Of Lean Manufacturing
INTRODUCTION. Lean can be simply described system that is designed to create more value for
customers with fewer resources. Lean principle is best described as a series of processes or
methodology that eliminates waste in a production cycle. Lean principles originated from Japan in
the manufacturing industries, commonly in the Automobile sector. Over the last decade, Lean has
stepped outside the norms of manufacturing to become a process improvement method for both
service sector and more recently in public sector organizations that are interested in improving their
output efficiency and increase customer value. Wikipedia defines Lean as the set of tools that helps
in the identification of waste and its elimination. The waste is also referred to as Muda. It says
elimination of waste improves quality and thus reduces production time and cost. (https:/

A Reflection Of Observation In The Classroom Behavior
In my twenty hours of observation I have learned quite a bit about how a teacher does an ever
challenging job, which includes monitoring students behavior, making sure each and every
student is involved in an active learning environment, and creating a safe, yet creative classroom
environment. The teacher I observed was amazing at her job, and by watching as she interacted
with the students, I could see the impact that a teacher truly has on a student. I have even learned
that classroom organization can change how a student learns, and during my observation the
teacher shared with me that by organizing her classroom in a central facing manner, she was able
to draw attention to herself as she stood at the focal point in the classroom. This allowed the
teacher to draw the students attention to her and away from any distractions that may have arisen
in the classroom. I had also noticed how organized other material was in the classroom from
course related books to the classroom rules and behavior guidelines. The students seemed to
follow the rules better in this classroom with clearly labelled and organized behavior guidelines
and rules unlike other classrooms that I have observed in the past. One of the first things that I
noticed when I began my observation was that of the classroom atmosphere that the teacher had
created for the students. The teacher taught social studies and had setup her classroom with a
multitude of social studies related material. There was a large world history board that included a
detailed map of the world and two handmade house shields from the Middle Ages. There was also
pictures of United States Presidents including President Abraham Lincolnand George Washington.
My most favorite aspect of the classroom were the inspirational quotes that were put up around the
ceiling of the room, which included the Gettysburg Address and the famous We Can Do It! poster
from World War II. The students even noted that they enjoyed an American Dream board, which
had maps from the students current lesson in the book as well pictures of the main figures that
were discussed in class. The lesson that was being taught when I observed was that of the French
Indian War, and multiple maps of the Ohio

  • 2. Disadvantages Of Sexual Reproduction Reproduction is divided into two categories: Sexual and Asexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction is the combination of two sex cells while asexual reproduction is the division of the cell into smaller genetically identical copies.Sexual reproduction is vital process of life. Although it has many advantages, it also has some disadvantages. Life Ascending: The Ten Great Invention of Evolutionby Nick Lane, a British biochemist explains the path of evolution. This work received the Royal Society Prize for Science Books prize in 2010. The author has a PHD in biochemistry and was an honorary researcher for the University College London. This suggests that he is reliable as he has the highest possible qualification in his field, the PHD. The purpose of this critique is analyze the theories about the importance of sexual reproductionand the advantages and disadvantages of both forms of reproduction. Sexual reproduction also has some disadvantages. For example, it causes harmful mutations such as diseases, illnesses and birth defects. (Lane,N, 2009). STDs or Sexually Transmitted Diseases are a massive risk to sexually reproducing populations as the mating process is the ideal time for the transmittance of parasites and pathogens. Another disadvantage is that the birthing and rearing process is lengthy. Additionally, the process of finding a mate is difficult.(Lane,N, 2009).Furthermore, pregnancy is not guaranteed after the mating process. This causes the 2:1 demography disadvantage where only 50% of the sexual population can produce offspring. Similarly, only 50% of the parent s genes are passed on as during the combination of genes, half of the successful genes are disrupted. If a sexually reproducing species expands an unsustainable rate, it would wreak havoc on the ecosystem and it food chain. As a result, this may result in the extinction of that species. This phenomenon is called by the J which is the point where the population of a species may be decimated unexpectedly after reaching its population cap. Furthermore although the males of some species go to great lengths to attract a mate, it also has the unfortunate effect of drawing attention to them from predators. An example is the peacock. It has a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Master Cleanse, also called the Lemonade Diet, is a liquid only diet consisting of three things: a lemonade like beverage, salt water drink, and herbal laxative tea. In the words of Maura Shenker, You may also suffer digestive issues because of the constant flushing of your system, which can damage healthy probiotic bacteria that aid digestion and help keep your immune system strong (3). This quote justifies the master cleanse could have danger to your digestive system and normal bodily functions. According to Tina Rubin who wrote Mastering the Master Cleanse , Detox symptoms include irritability, aches and pains (including caffeine headaches), lethargy, and eliminations that burn. Many of the symptoms disappear the next day. After day three, most people experience no more detox symptoms until day seven or eight, and then it s smooth sailing. Other than on symptom days, people report having unusual energy, strength, and clarity that continues throughout the cleanse (3). There seems to be a lot of symptoms that go along with this detoxing diet but seems to possibly be worth it in the long run. • 4. The Boston Tea Party Was A Fair Protest By The Colonists Thesis: I believe that the Boston Tea Party was a fair protest by the colonists because the King of England was using the colonists for profit, and not treating them like real people by not listening to their outcries for help. Thus, the Boston Tea Party was the only way to get the King s attention and bring attention to how unfair the acts were to other colonists. What did the Tea Actsay? (1) The Tea Act said two things. First, it stated that the amount of actions needed to go through customs would be reduced for anyone exporting tea to the British colonies as said in the fifth paragraph of the act, ...and to export such tea to any of the British colonies or plantations in America, or to foreign parts, discharged from the payment of any customs or duties whatsoever; any thing in the said recited act, or any other act to the contrary notwithstanding. (SFI 1, americanhistory.abc clio.com). This part of the act was an attempt to save the nearly bankrupt East India Company, which had played a big role in the British victory over France in the Seven Year War by taking over multiple French settlements. The second thing the act stated was that there would be a new tax on the tea for the American colonists. The British thought that because the act would actually reduce the price of tea, even with the tax, the American colonists would accept this new act. The act backfired and actually just fueled the colonist s anger toward the British Crown as they were being taxed without ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Time Of My Father Essay The time in which I was born was very different than the one my parents had to live in when they were children. I was born in a small town in Colombia, where no more than a hundred families lived. The entire population of my hometown was Catholic. There was a small chapel next to my house and the priest went there once a month to celebrate Mass. He and the seminarians stayed at our home, when they went for the Holy Week and Christmas missions. On Saturdays, my brother and I went to a town an hour away afoot or 20 minutes on a horse, to have further studies. Ninety percent of that town s population were Pentecostal and only 10 % were Catholic. There was a big Pentecostal Church in the middle of the town and a small Catholic church outside the village. My brother and I went to study there on Saturdays because the Pentecostals offered to us a couple of American godparents who sent us gifts twice a year from the US. Nonetheless, to get those gifts we had to attend school on Saturdays, take pictures with the gifts in our hands, and attend the Pentecostal service once a year. During that service, my brother and I laughed the whole time at the people dancing in the church. My aunt, the only Pentecostal member of a family of twelve siblings, got embarrassed for our behavior every time we attended the service. It was very interesting to grow up in a country where almost all the population were Christians and, at least at that time, 92 percent of the 45 million Colombians reported ... Wickham hoped to convince Georgina to elope with him so he could steal her inheritance, which is the main reason for the hostility between Darcy and Wickham. As seen in the letter, ...She tried to recollect some instance of goodness, some distinguished trait of integrity or benevolence, that might rescue him from the attacks of Mr. Darcy; or at least, by the predominance of virtue, atone for those casual errors under which she would endeavour to class what Mr. Darcy had described as the idleness and vice of many years continuance. But no such recollection befriended her... , Elizabeth tried to think of a time where she felt as Wickham was a truly genuine and good person, but alas, she could not. (Chapter ... With most of these diets, one cannot continue on with them because the diet just would not be healthy to do so. The Female Gaze Of Art History Paula St. Cyr Erin Farrell, M.A. adjunct ARTH 316 W1 December 10, 2016 The Female Gaze in Art History Thesis: Women have come a long way alongside men in presenting art in various forms, but while artistic expression has been based from the male perspective and sexuality, female artists are becoming more outspoken in their art forms challenging viewers to look beyond the physical form and go deeper into its meaning. Down through the historical years of art the human body has been the subject of intrigue and delight. While the display of the nude body has always bought about controversy for one reason or another, the controversy is only as it applies to the female nude. Not too much is ever focused on the nude body part of men, but female nudity causes quite the stir, especially from male viewers. As I delve into this art form of female gaze, it might be helpful to take a look at the male gaze as it applies to substantiating the female gaze. The notion of the male gaze has both a literal and a figurative component. Literally the gaze is male when it involves looks from the male species as a spectator or a participant in the work itself. Figuratively the male gaze is often involving a female as the object. In Laura Mulvey s words, man is the bearer of the gaze, woman its object. The Theory of Planned Behavior The Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) TRA posits that individual behaviour is driven by behavioural intentions where behavioural intentions are a function of an individual s attitude toward the behaviour and subjective norms surrounding the performance of the behaviour. Attitude toward the behaviour is defined as the individual s positive or negative feelings about performing a behaviour. It is determined through an assessment of one s beliefs regarding the consequences arising from a behaviour and an evaluation of the desirability of these consequences. Formally, overall attitude can be assessed as the sum of the individual consequence x desirability assessments for all expected consequences of the behaviour. Subjective norm is defined ... Subjective norms are assumed to have two components which work in interaction: beliefs about how other people, who may be in some way important to the person, would like them to behave (normative beliefs). Perceived behavioural control Perceived behavioural control is the extent to which a person feels able to enact the behaviour. It has two aspects: how much a person has control over the behavior and how confident a person feels about being able to perform or not perform the behaviour. It is determined by control beliefs about the power of both situational and internal factors to inhibit or facilitate the performing of the behaviour. Direct measures and indirect (belief based) measures With the exception of behaviour, the variables in the TPB model are psychological (internal) constructs. Each predictor variable may be measured directly e.g. by asking respondents about specific behavioural beliefs and outcome evaluations. First, reading achievement and difficulties of students who are d/Deaf and hard of hearing (d/Dhh) are discussed. Second, it justifies the theoretical framework of the study with three primary sources: Simple View of Reading (Gough Tunmer, 1986; Hoover Gough, 1990), the National ReadingPanel (NRP, 2000), and the Qualitative Similarity Hypothesis (QSH) (Paul, Wang, Williams, 2013). Next, Visual Phonics is explained. Then this chapter introduces the purpose of the study and proposes three research questions. It also briefly discusses the research methodology for gathering data relevant to the questions. The last part of the chapter provides details about the key terms of the study. a.Reading Achievement of d/Dhh Students Reading is an essential skill for social life and academic success. Learning to read is a complex process. Some students learn to read effortlessly, but others find it difficult. Reading difficulties of d/Dhh students are well documented. Whereas most writers merely borrow from history to fuel their creative fires, Shakespeare goes so far as to rewrite history. The First Part of Henry the Fourth follows history fairly closely, and Shakespeare draws this history primarily from Raphael Holinshed s Chronicle of England, Scotland, and Ireland and from Samuel Daniel s verse epic The Civil Wars(Abrams 823). The play opens shortly after Henry Bolingbroke has usurped the throne from Richard II, becoming the fourth King Henry, and changing the royal lineage from the House of Plantagenet to the House of Lancaster. For the most part, Shakespeare did indeed fabricate Falstaff, Poins, and the whole Tavern Group, yet historical evidence does support some sort of provincial getaway. McFarlane records that in 1412 the younger Henry remained dissatisfied [with his father] and shortly afterwards withdrew once more into the provinces, where he was soon again at his old tricks (110). Shakespeare originally named the character of Falstaff after the Protestant martyr John Oldcastle. Shakespeare eventually bowed to the objections of Oldcastle s descendants, renaming the character (Abrams 823). At the Battle of Shrewsbury, Shakespeare describes how Hal kills Hotspur, eulogizes him (5.4.78 102), and then concedes the victory of the kill to Falstaff (5.4.138 50). History records that Hal himself suffered an arrow shot to the face (Rowse 44) and that no one knows for certain who killed Hotspur (Jacob 52 3). History further records that, as for the eulogy, it was the king who shed tears over Hotspur s slain figure, not the young prince (Rowse 45). Despite Hotspur being three years older than Hal s father (Hotspur died at age thirty nine) (Rowse 44), Shakespeare paints the portrait of Hotspur and Hal as contemporaries, following poet Daniel s lead (Drabble 475). Instead, Jared uses the plane as a place to escape from the reality of his isolation, which is clearly a very disturbing and unethical action. Rash uses these images of isolation and character development to demonstrate that emotional instability is a potential danger of escapism. Furthermore, Rash describes the emotional characterization of Jared to demonstrate the negative effect self isolation can have on escapism. In the beginning of The Ascent, Jared is seen as an imaginative and innocent child, albeit a little lonely. However, the tone dramatically shifts when Jared discovers the plane wreck and sit[s] in the back seat [for] two hours, though [to him] it seem[s] only a few minutes (Rash 281). By finding comfort with dead people, it is clear that Jared is emotionally disturbed. He isolates himself from others by depending on his imagination to make up for his lack of company. This is further exemplified when Jared watches his parents pas[s] the pipe back and forth... want[ing] to go back to the plane (Rash 284). • 30. The Association Between Primary And Secondary Psychopathy... This study used a correlation design to investigate the association between primary and secondary psychopathy and cognitive empathy. 452 first year psychology students completed Levenson, Kiehl and Fitzpatrick s (1995) Levenson self report Psychopathy scale (LSRP) and Baron Cohen, Wheelwright, Hill, Raste and Plumb s (2001) Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET). A significant negative correlation was found between primary psychopathyand empathy while the correlation for secondary psychopathy and empathy was insignificant. From this it can be concluded that primary psychopaths are worse at empathising than secondary psychopaths. Association between Primary and Secondary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy Psychopathy is a disorder which can be split into two subtypes, primary and secondary. Primary psychopathy is typified by callous, manipulative, selfish and untruthful behaviour (Karpman, 1948, as cited in Levenson, Kiehl Fitzpatrick, 1995). Secondary psychopathy is associated with anxiety, introversion, low self esteem and moodiness (Blackburn Fawcett, 1999 as cited by Ali Chamorro Premuzic, 2010). Cognitive empathy is described as the being able to understand and infer emotions of others (Joliffee Farrington, 2004 as cited by Ali Chamorro Premuzic). Understanding the association between Psychopathy and Empathy is an area of interest as it provides insight on how to effectively rehabilitate psychopaths; if they are showing the ... The Plan For An Integrative Negotiation Introduction Negotiation is the process whereby people attempt to settle what each shall give and take or perform and receive in a transaction between them as defined by Rubin and Brown (as quoted in Stoshikj, 2014, p. 32). This action is usually held between two parties or more in order to discover a common ground or reach a mutual agreement. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This type of behaviour has become increasing popular among university and college students due to the excessive marketing of energy drinks and alcohol (Matthew Cronin Craig S. Wright, 2005) Recent studies concerning college students suggest heavy episodic drinking continues to be a major health problem that is associated with legal, academic and health problems. The consumption of AmEDs has been receiving increased research attention due to its association with heavy drinking (Lindsey Varvil Weld, Miesha Marzell, Rob Turrisi, Kimberly A. Mallett Michael J. Cleveland, 2013). This recent phenomenon is concerning researchers as they discover the related consequences of AmED use. Researchers use the Anticipated Effects of Alcohol Scale (AEAS) in order to measure a comprehensive sampling that varied in positive and negative effects, as well as high or low arousal in order to identify plausible outcomes of drinking (Meghan E. Morean, Teresa A. Treat William R. Corbin, 2012). It has been estimated that almost half of 18 24 year olds in Australia have consumed AmEDs and 10% consume them weekly. 90% of adults, 83% of 13 17 year olds and 63% of 6 12 year olds consume caffeine daily. Caffeine is naturally occurring in drinks such as coffee and tea, as well as in foods such as chocolate, but it is also a food additive in carbonated beverages and energy drinks (Catherine W. • 55. A Reflection Of Observation In The Classroom Behavior In my twenty hours of observation I have learned quite a bit about how a teacher does an ever challenging job, which includes monitoring students behavior, making sure each and every student is involved in an active learning environment, and creating a safe, yet creative classroom environment. The teacher I observed was amazing at her job, and by watching as she interacted with the students, I could see the impact that a teacher truly has on a student. I have even learned that classroom organization can change how a student learns, and during my observation the teacher shared with me that by organizing her classroom in a central facing manner, she was able to draw attention to herself as she stood at the focal point in the classroom. This allowed the teacher to draw the students attention to her and away from any distractions that may have arisen in the classroom. I had also noticed how organized other material was in the classroom from course related books to the classroom rules and behavior guidelines. The students seemed to follow the rules better in this classroom with clearly labelled and organized behavior guidelines and rules unlike other classrooms that I have observed in the past. One of the first things that I noticed when I began my observation was that of the classroom atmosphere that the teacher had created for the students. The teacher taught social studies and had setup her classroom with a multitude of social studies related material. There was a large world history board that included a detailed map of the world and two handmade house shields from the Middle Ages. There was also pictures of United States Presidents including President Abraham Lincolnand George Washington. My most favorite aspect of the classroom were the inspirational quotes that were put up around the ceiling of the room, which included the Gettysburg Address and the famous We Can Do It! poster from World War II. The students even noted that they enjoyed an American Dream board, which had maps from the students current lesson in the book as well pictures of the main figures that were discussed in class. The lesson that was being taught when I observed was that of the French Indian War, and multiple maps of the Ohio ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
