Persuasive Essay About False Confessions
Almost everyone who has seen a cop television show or movie has heard the saying You have the right
to remain silent . In America, people are raised to believe that the justice system never fails, and that
no matter what happens justice will always prevail, though for some people this safety net has failed
them. Since the late 1980s six studies have documented 250 interrogation induced false confessions.
Police induced false confessions are the result of multistep process and sequence of influence,
persuasion, and compliance. Imagine that a solider of the U.S. military is brought in for questioning,
kept locked up for sixteen hours in an interrogation room, constantly threatened with the death penalty
if they did not confess to the crime, and the whole time left without representation. In 1997 this was
the case for four individuals from Norfolk, Virginia held without representation and forced to give
false confessions. On July 8, 1997, William Bosko, an enlisted sailor returns home from a week at sea
to find his wife Michelle Moore Bosko gruesomely murdered in their apartment. Detectives interview
family, friends and neighbors of the couple before asking their next door neighbor Danial Williams to
come in for questioning. Danial Williams is interrogated for the next 11 hours by detectives Maureen
Evans and Robert Glenn Ford before confessing to the murder of Michelle Bosko. Even though
neither his story of what happened, or his DNA matched the evidence that the police had

The Effect Of Temperature On The Air Temperature
Results
Subterranean Temperature Neither the sheltered microclimates occupied by the terrestrial isopods or
the ambient environment reached a lethal temperature in the Clark Fork riparian zone during the
October to November 2015 study period, however, subterranean lows varied significantly from
ambient temperatures. During the period of stable daily weather fluctuations of mid to late October
subterranean daily mean temperatures varied insignificantly from ambient temperatures (p = 0.75).
Further deviation in the mean occurred with an increase in the intensity of temperature swings late in
the observation period. Subterranean lows varied significantly by approximately 3°C from ambient
lows during the mid to late October uniform temperature period (p = 0.02). The sheltered temperature
remained on average 2.5°C warmer than the ambient air temperature later in the season. Ambient lows
exceeded the subterranean low on two abnormally warm days in late October (Figure 2). Overall, the
subterranean microclimate remained significantly warmer than the ambient temperature (p = 0.0001).
The sheltered temperatures were largely warmer between 11/4 and 11/10 showing an increase in the
rate of temperature decrease relative to the ambient temperatures. However, the rate of temperature
decline across the sample period did not vary significantly between the two climates (p = 0.37).

The Chevrolet Cobalt Vehicle
General Motors acted in an unethical and negligent way by choosing not to take action when
becoming aware of a fault in their ignition switch of the Chevrolet Cobalt vehicle. This caused the
engine and electrical system to shut off if the keys were knocked, and ultimately resulting in multiple
deaths due to the airbags not deploying during car accidents.
General Motors first became aware of the problem in 2004 after a situation of the ignition switching
off the vehicle after accidentally making contact with the key. Other employees soon replicated the
ignition switch defect during test drives throughout that year. While engineers for G.M. suggested a
fix to the issue, executives due to consideration of the lead time required, cost and ... Show more

I feel saddened for the families of those involved in the fatal crashes that are a consequence of G.M. s
negligent action in pursuing and correcting this problem. They were let down by a large corporation
who knowingly were aware of a defect in the Chevrolet Cobalt, and if I was to be put in their
situation, I would feel deep resentment towards General Motors. However, I am not surprised as I do
already have a strong distrust for large corporations. After having read countless reports on the news
of the unethical, and often illegal, courses of action that companies will do in order to essentially
reduce costs and increase profits. While I feel angered by this, my feelings are irrelevant to
corporations as they are only interested in ways in which they can increase profit.
I felt the same way after having studied the Enron case earlier in the semester. Though I feel Enron has
acted more unethically and unscrupulous intentionally than General Motors, I am still saddened and
sorrowful for the individuals and families who were unknowingly being lied to by the corporations.
Individuals and families involved in these cases feel both an emotional and physical loss. I feel as
someone who values honesty, it angers me that innocent people were affected in this way and taken
advantage of. Enron s profit driven executives treated these individuals and families unfairly, as were
the families of those involved in

Tuberculosis Is A Disease That Affects Other Populations
Tuberculosis is a disease that affects many individuals throughout the world, and not always with the
same prevalence rates. For this research paper my goal is to explain and illustrate why certain
populations tend to have higher infection rates of tuberculosis than the average population in the
United States and what causes these higher rates. At what point do health officials step in and work on
prevention in these specific populations and why are we not implementing the tuberculosis shot for
these populations? The topic of Tuberculosis is significant as it affects many populations, but it also
does not affect all populations equally. Tuberculosis has an increased prevalence rate in homeless
individuals, African Americans, and in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are currently a variety of vaccinations that are being tested and/or used throughout the world,
although they are rarely used in the United States (Kupferschmidt, 2011). There are several research
centers across the nation that are taking part of the research and development of these new vaccines
including Harvard University and the University of California, Los Angeles (Kupferschmidt, 2011).
These vaccinations are of great importance to some individuals, but its use is not perfect across all
samples (Kupferschmidt, 2011). Tuberculosis was first discovered as a disease in 1882 by a scientist
named Robert Koch (Rothman, 1994). Within a short period of time it was discovered that this was an
infectious disease, along with being a disease that affected certain populations (Rothman, 1994). It
was discovered that a vast majority of the individuals affected were either immigrant, therefore
generally a minority population, or were of poor or working class status (Rothman, 1994). Several
movements and directives were used during this time to attempt to stop the spread of tuberculosis,
such as, being outside in the clean air as much as possible, not drinking alcohol, and drinking plenty of
clean water, among others (Rothman, 1994). Between 1906 and 1919 a vaccine was developed by
Albert Calmette and Camille Geurin, a pair of French scientists, to help prevent this terrible disease
(Kupferschmidt, 2011). This BCG vaccine, or Bacillus

Carol Tavris Mistakes Were Made
Two different but similar forms of writing are able to be tied down into one general but specific
category. In the book, Mistakes Were Made (but not by me), by Elliot Aronson and Carol Tavris,
Aronson and Tavris commentates on events that people go through. The book is mainly about Elliot
Aronson s and Carol Tavris opinion on how people behave and should behave when caught in tough
situations. Instead of focusing on one main character in the book, each section of the book illustrates a
different person s situation and that situation would correspond with a specific theme in the chapter.
Throughout the book, Aronson and Tavris give us a broad idea of how some psychological
thinking/processes comes into play, each psychological concept corresponds to a chapter or section in
the book, these ideas are: confirmation bias, revision of memories, self justification, pyramid of
choice, cognitive dissonance, blind spots, closed loops, reducing cognitive dissonance, blaming, self
justification (for the greater good), and (sunk costs). Another form of writing, Wrong Answer , by
Rachel Aviv, is an article focusing on the main idea of a school going through tough times and the
outcome of the actions taken by the staff. The article revolves around Parks Middle School in Atlanta.
The teachers and staff in Parks Middle School were caught cheating and changing the answers
students submitted for standardized tests, and this little mess resulted in hundreds of teachers being

Case Study Of Arunachalam Mruganantham
Abstract
Introduction
Uncertainty and ambiguity are a key challenge to every business organization existing today. Every
individual should be equipped to build strategies that not only defends threats but also helps in taking
advantage of the available opportunities. Obstacles and uncertainty must not prevent a person from
doing things differently. Arunachalam Muruganantham is a person whose determination transformed
all obstacles to his stride.
Case Description
It s a tale of an inventor s obsession, in the face of ostracism, which ends in triumph, with
Muruganantham s simple, low cost machine for the production of sanitary napkin at a very affordable
price that transformed the lives of several rural women across India. Muruganantham s decade long
experimentation to create an affordable sanitary pad manufacturing machine for underprivileged
women is the subject of a remarkable story. In a small town of South India, a man s empathy for his
wife has sparked a revolution. Arunachalam Muruganantham, a ... Show more content on

rural women not only in India but also in different parts of the world.
Current Business Performance
The cost of the machine is rupees eighty thousand as against the machines used by MNCs costing
three and a half crore rupees. Though the initial market acceptance of sanitary napkin machine as well
as its penetration was very poor, however a determined Muruganantham along with his wife started
selling them to women in the local area of Coimbatore. Soon the two were unable to keep up with the

A Study On Leap Of Faith
Leap of Faith I peered over the edge of the cliff, staring down at the murky water below, the incessant
roar of the waterfall on my left reverberated in my ears. Go on... jump! my brother Josh prodded,
impatiently shifting from one foot to the other. The last word he said seemed to echo and grow louder
with each repetition, taunting me as I fearfully faltered away from the edge. I was standing in a cave
behind one of the Tavoro waterfalls in Taveuni, Fiji. My parents, two brothers, and I were in Fiji on a
2 week mission trip. We d spent most of the two weeks at a bustling compound, Vatuvonu Adventist
School and Church, which consisted of a school, a church, a clinic, a few worn down huts, assorted
administration and dorm buildings, and a rickety dock with huge spaces in between the worn wooden
planks. While there we helped build a platform for a generator, fixed up a church, and ran a medical
and dentistry clinic with the thirty other people in our mission group. We spent 10 of our 14 days at
the compound, then took a ferry to Taveuni so we could stay at a resort for a few days. We wanted to
explore the islands a bit and see what Fiji had to offer. We went snorkeling, we explored the tiny
towns and villages, we went swimming in the Pacific Ocean, we rode a horse, we went flying in a tiny
plane, and we tried many local foods. On one of our last days in Fiji we took a 2 hour bus ride to
Bouma National Heritage Park, and hiked to the first Tavoro waterfall. After

The Federal Government Of The United States
The federal government of the United States of America faces lots of challenges through their
operations. American citizens desire to witness several changes that can boost their lives under
different fields of life. It goes without being mentioned that the stiff economic competition on the
market in the current era plays a crucial role in mobilizing the masses to embrace or deter from several
existing issues. Therefore, different governments have to analyze the demands and pleas of the local
common citizens before implementing laws and specific management strategies. It is essential to note
that not all of the implemented strategies might positively affect the lives of the common citizens. The
leadership of a running government can be full self centered people who might want to discriminate
the weak in the society by making laws which favor their operations. With this in mind, there is
always a high probability of rebellion from people at the lower levels in the society who protest for the
stabilization of laws to fit in with their desires and demands. The purpose of this paper is to highlight
how protests from citizens have been part and parcel of politics in the United States of America
between the year1900 and 2010.
The United States of America is today a super power nation that controls major activities in the entire

Through a cultural and social lens identity has to do with a person s appearance, beliefs, and language.
People with cultural differences have different identities. Appearance wise, they tend to have a
different skin color, a different dress code, different facial features, different hair, etc. These
characteristics can easily help others categorize what cultural group they are in. People with different
cultural backgrounds sometimes dress a certain way so you can easily see their identity through their
clothes. The beliefs of a certain culture is also a part of their identity being that it is something they
believe within themselves. Many cultures have different religious systems such as Christianity, Islam,

The Effects Of Urbanization On The Belizean Society Essay
Negative Effects of Urbanization to the Belizean Society
Many small town dwellers and villagers had left their hometown for the cities in search of higher
standard of living. This movement from rural areas to big cities is called urbanization (Boundless,
2015). As a result, urbanization is the process by which there is an increase in the number and the
percentage of people living in the urban settlements and the amount of industrialization of the
settlement. In Belize statistics shows that 45% of the population lives in urban areas (Population
Reference Bureau, 2014). It also refers to the increase in the size of land area occupied by urban
settlements such as towns and cities. Although urbanization has brought about numerous positive
impacts, it also has its share of disadvantages as well. The negative impacts of urbanization shall be
discussed by means of the economic, environmental and social aspect.
The main negative economic impact of urbanization in Belize is unemployment which ties into social
conflict theory. According to Guardian Newspaper the Statistical Institute of Belize released its
preliminary results for the April 2014 labor force survey on Wednesday, June 25, and it shows that the
unemployment rate has decreased from 14.2 percent in September of 2013 to 11.1 percent in April of
2014 (Williams, 2014, P.18). With massive migration from rural areas, jobs in the urban area may not
be created fast enough to meet the needs. Therefore, the first problem faced

Apes True Green
True green is the first green you learn about the colors when you are young. When you learn about the
colors, there likely was a chart that had each color and a label underneath. This green was the one on
that chart. You probably hear your parents sometimes say Hey, how about you go outside! It s
beautiful out! The grass is green and the sun is shining! Go! GO! And, eventually, you go because you
don t want to make your parents mad. When you go outside, you see the grass. In fact, it s green
everywhere. The trees, the flowers, the garden too. You stop and think. Wouldn t everyone rather be in
an area with grass than, say, a desert? Green symbolizes health and life. Step outside and you will see.

Broccoli, peppers, asparagus, spinach, the leaves of carrots and tomatoes, and many, many more. If
you ever go to a farm, the color that overwhelms you (other than the brown of the dirt) is green. Green
is literally what a farm grows to sell. And you know what they earn? Moola. Dough. Racks.
Benjamins. Dead presidents. And they are money. Money is also green. Money equals good. Money,
despite what other people may say, makes the world go round. No money means no home, no food, no
water, no basic human needs. Without money, society would fall apart. We would fall back into the
Dark Ages. There would be very little trade, and hardly any electrical machines and devices would be
able to function properly. Life as we know would collapse. But what do we know? We take too much
for granted in our lives. Perhaps we can learn from those who have been down on their luck. Go to
any homeless person (there are quite a lot of them, especially war veterans) and ask how they have to
live their lives now that they have lost everything. Begging for money, getting dirty looks, and having
other people looking down upon you. Then they won t even help. They abandon you, thinking that you
would just spend it for alcohol. Money is so important. People harm or murder others just to get more
of it. Without any money at all, it would be a free for all for the remaining resources. And

Child Labour And Child Labor
One of today s and back then s worst concern is the amount of children currently and previously
forced to endure child labour. Child labour affects children mentally and physically, as well as putting
children at risk for abuse from employers. Child labour is an everyday task for as many as 280 million
children. They work on farms, factories, and in sweatshops for extremely low fees; most have little or
no education. Child labour addresses many issues and thoughts such as, dehumanization, the lack of
enforcement of child labour laws which exist in most countries in the world and the social effects of
these uneducated children becoming our future. This essay will show what child labour really is and
how it has and is affecting our world.
Child labor began in the 1900s because many families were in poverty and needed everyone they
could in their family working to bring in a slightly larger income. According to the author Irwin
Yellowitz Children were useful as laborers because their size allowed them to move in small spaces in
factories or mines where adults couldn t fit, children were easier to manage and control and perhaps
most importantly, children could be paid less than adults. As the children worked, they were also not
getting an education. In the 1900s, child labor was not an unusual thing. It was actually pretty
common and part of the modern economy. People did try and reduce the amount of child laborers; it
took a huge stock market collapse to convince the people.

Indonesia Cocoa Bean Value Chain Case Study
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Indonesia is the third largest producer of cocoa in the world after Ghana and the Ivory Coast, and the
most significant cocoa bean supplier in East Asia. Indonesia s biggest competitive advantages include
its low cost, high production capacity (availability of supply), efficient infrastructure and open
trading/marketing system (business environment). Although the cocoa value chain in Indonesia has
experienced phenomenal growth over the past few decades, its continued competitiveness is
threatened by inconsistent and poor quality production. Widespread pest infestation, especially from
the cocoa pod borer (CPB), is a primary cause of poor cocoa bean quality. In order to address the
problems of CPB infestation, various ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

With over 450,000 metric tons (MT) of cocoa beans produced in 2005/06, Indonesia is the third
largest producer of cocoa in the world after Ghana and the Ivory Coast, and the most significant cocoa
bean supplier in East Asia. In addition to raw cocoa beans, Indonesia also produces and exports a
small volume of processed cocoa products including powder, paste/liquor, cake and butter. Total
Indonesian cocoa exports (cocoa beans and processed cocoa products) are valued at approximately
$600 700 million per year and provide the main source of income for over 400,000 smallholder
farmers and their families. Smallholder farmers working on plots ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 hectares

The crash of Polish Air Force Tu 154 transporting the Polish Delegation on 10 April 2010 on the

1. Introduction
1. On the 10 April 2010, a Tupolev Tu 154M aircraft was carrying the Polish State delegation, led by
President Lech Kaczyński, to Smolensk Russia to attend a ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of
the Katyn Massacre. The plane crashed, killing all the 96 passengers on board. The fatalities included

4. This outcome was seen as controversial by Polish civil society groups, as well as some independent
governmental bodies and international observers, mostly because of the allegedly questionable manner
in which the investigation was conducted and the legal manoeuvrings that took place immediately
after the accident.
5. On 13 April 2010, Vladimir Putin, as the Head of the State Commission, delegated the general
supervision of the technical investigation to the Chairperson of the Interstate Aviation Committee (
IAC ). In addition, the decision was made to conduct the investigation of the crash in compliance with
Annex 13 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation instead of by using the rules laid out in the
1993 Polish Russian Agreement that regulates military aviation in the airspace of both contracting
states.
6. Over five years have passed after the accident, and the Russian Federation still maintains possession
of the plane wreckage, the black boxes with original flight data recordings and other material
evidence.
2. Background Legislation
2.1 Choice of the governing legal regime
7. From a legal point of view the choice of juridical regime covering the investigations is complex and
leaves room for interpretation. Three days after the accident, the two state parties involved debated
which legal regime applies. The first obvious choice would have been the 1993 Polish Russian
Agreement, regulating military flights in the two

The Factors Influencing Human Behaviour Outside Of Other...
Animals are one of the top factors influencing human behavior outside of other non human animals.
The interactions that occur between people and non human animals, particularly in the Appalachian
region, has led to profound changes both on the local community. The most significant interaction to
take place and has influenced the area drastically is domestication. Four types of domestication at the
forefront of Appalachian culture are livestock, blood sports, pet keeping, and animal s prevalence in
oral folklore. The introduction of domestication previous to and after the Neolithic Revolution has
harbored new relationships between humans and animals that have altered the mountain face, culture,
and economy of the Appalachian region.
The most prevalent human animal interaction to be observed and widely practiced in the Appalachian
Mountains is the keeping of domesticated animals. The region was widely used as hunting and
gathering land previous to colonial expansion. Animals were not domesticated by Native Americans
their animism, or the belief that all organisms and inanimate objects possess a soul ( Constructing
Animals ). However, it was not until the Neolithic Revolution reached the Appalachians that
sustainable agriculture became a standard way to obtain food. In doing so domesticated animals,
particularly livestock, became common in the mountains. Hogs cattle, and chickens were kept on
farms to allow for easier access to meat, dairy, and eggs. Consequently, when people

Target Corporation Business Analysis
Target Corporation is an American retailing company that uses various retail formats that range from
low end to high end items. It was founded in 1902 by George Draper Dayton. It is now the fourth
largest retailer in the United States and operates almost 1600 stores in 47 states (Funding Universe,

and grocery at affordable prices, that drags the customers into purchasing more. A typical Target store
averages from 145,000 square ft by 126,000 square ft. (Funding Universe, 2004). The stores are
spacious, with a display of a grid format, which concludes in consumers shopping for items that are

The Family Reunion by Jeredith Merrin is a very jaunty poem. The author invites her readers into the
setting of her own family reunion. She relates to her personal situation and how one seems to forget
about their history. With the Unites States having a fifty percent divorce rate it make this poem very
real and relatable. Family Reunion is a poem about a modern day family that initially sets a calm
atmosphere; but quickly changes as she creates the reality of today s normal occurrence that divorce
has set in the world.
Merrin creates a theme of divorce and separation in each of the poems four lined stanzas. She begins
with the divorced mother and her divorcing/ daughter (1 2) setting the theme for the ongoing element
of separation.

The Ruin And The Wife s Lament
Most of Old English poetry is all in one book. This book is called the Exeter Book. This book includes
diverse, short, religious poems, which each have their own unique style. Also, they contain a similar
sad or mournful tone, which are considered to be elegies. Most of the poems are about one anonymous
character who is enduring some type of hardship. Two of these poems are The Wife s Lament and The
Ruin . In The Ruin the speaker in the poem is describing the disaster he or she sees. Buildings are
crumbling, roofs ruined, yet the foundation of the city is still there. The city has endured hundreds of
years worth of storms and time itself. The narrator then talks about how this city was created and all
people were filled with joy. Streams were flowing and the stone building stood tall. Splendor and glad
minded men filled the bright kingdom. Unfortunately it all came to an end when the plague spread
throughout the kingdom and death took many lives. The once precious kingdom was now an empty
courtyard and ruble. The Wife s Lament is written in first person point of view. That person is the wife
who is in desolation due to the exile of her husband. She felt worried and sorrowful so she set out to
find her lost lover. However, the kinsmen did not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

power of nature. The name of the poem says it all, the city is left in ruins because of time itself. With
age anything will become more worse. In addition, destruction is also because of the power of nature.
In the poem, it states that the foundation of the city endured the forces of storms. The power of the

Essay on Sociology of Health and Medicine
Mike Bury (2001) has undertaken a considerable amount of research on illness narratives and its
different forms. Illness narratives and narrative analysis can be evaluated through three different types.
The first is contingent narratives, which address beliefs about the origins of disease, the proximate
causes of an illness episode, and the immediate effects of illness in everyday life (Bury 2011, p. 263).
Secondly, another form of narratives are moral narratives, which provide accounts of (and help to
constitute) changes between the person, the illness and social identity, and which help to (re) establish
the moral status of the individual or help to maintain social distance (Bury 2011, p. 263). Lastly, Bury

Summary Of Rhetorical Strategies
Many authors have found that persuading an audience is sometimes the easiest way to grasp the
attention of many and do so by using logos, pathos and ethos techniques. Sometimes misleading and
based around personal opinions, understanding the initial reasons for using these strategies can explain
why they are used. Based on my research these rhetorical strategies can be found throughout all three
videos provided. The first two videos titled Drunk History Claudette Colvin and Rosa Parks and
Drunk History John Adams vs. Thomas Jefferson showed the least amount of these strategies, while
the last video Breaking News: Some Bullshit Happening Somewhere provides the best demonstration
of the use of rhetoric.

In doing my Research Proposal, I will set guidelines to assist library patrons who do not have any
computer experience to learn the basics of using the computer. Everyone should have some kind of
technical training because the world is steadily evolving in technology. Special needs people can also
benefit from this training. Teachers who do not have the proper training for special needs students will
learn how to assist those students. Statement of the Problem One of the problems that many library
staff face is patrons enthusiastically visit the library, but they do not know how to use a computer. A

Creating a resume for a job is a major problem of a lot of individuals who do not have software
training. When I interviewed the librarian for the Essex County Public Library, this was one of the
major issues they frequently encountered. Some of their patrons who visited the library could not read
or write, but the library staff assisted them. Many people who came to the library needed to setup e
mail accounts for their job; it was a requirement. Research Question When applying my practice, I
would setup a guide with links that include a 10 step process to help students write a research paper.
The first step is having the layout for students to understand the importance of conducting research
prior to writing the paper. Students would be able to access information through tabs such as links for
books, articles, e journals and databases. My research question is: What is the proper type of training
to offer patrons who do not know how to use a computer? By doing an ethical experiment, it should
evaluate the patron s computer competencies. Participants will be informed of how the information
will be disseminated and will be informed of their right to privacy they complete and sign a complete
consent form. Thus, a statement of the phenomenon should be stated explicitly; the research should
ask specific questions to all participants equally.

Store Vinyl Flooring At Lowes.com
Given the broad variety of flooring options available, you are bound to find the one that suits your
lifestyle and budget. When the old cupboard tops are solid wood, the seasonal move could cause

The poems Dulce et Decorum Est and Done with Bonaparte show what war is like. Dulce et Decorum

Essay on The Potential Effects Of A Depleted Ozone Layer
The Potential Effects of a Depleted Ozone Layer
quot; And God said, let there be light and there was light and then God saw the light, that it was good

Without light man could not survive. Light is the ultimate cosmic force in this universe allowing man
to progress and flourish. In the form of heat, light from the sun warms the Earth. Light, also, is the
single most important factor influencing the growth and development of plants. Photosynthesis, a
process by which plants incorporate light from the sun, allow plants to botanically grow and survive.

Regrettably, there have always been times of hunger and shortages. More frighteningly, in the present
world man is confronted with a population boom which is burgeoning near the six billion mark. It is
now more important than ever to protect, maintain, and hopefully increase the amount of food grown.
One of the drawbacks of industrialization has been the significant depletion of the ozone layer. This
depletion could have an incredibly devastating impact on the world and more specifically agriculture.
In general, quot; plants are quite sensitive and fragile when confronted with ultraviolet increases quot;
( Zimmer,
1993, p.28 ). Words such as sensitivity and fragility only add to the urgency of the possible
agricultural holocaust. One agricultural scientist remarked, quot; soybeans, tomatoes, tobacco,
potatoes, corn, beans, and wheat are all especially sensitive to UV light quot; ( Jones, 1992, p.39 ).
Since most of the mentioned crops are considered cash crops the economic aspect of lower crop yields
could also spell disaster. Food supplies are surely in jeopardy when taking in to account that quot;
more than two thirds of the plant species mainly crops tested for their reaction to ultraviolet light have
been found to be damaged by it quot; ( Lean et al, 1990, p.97 ). An increase in ultraviolet light
radiating towards plants accelerates the pace at which man must decide what to do with the dilemma

One of the amazing facts you would have probably learned about the human body as a kid was that
our skin is our largest organ. Our skin is covers reach of our body, and it is maybe the most pleasing

The twentieth century was marked by genocides on an monstrous scale. One of the most terrible was

During this dark time, the Catholic Church was shepherded by Pope Pius XII, who proved himself an

almost no credit for his actions before or during the war.

Some of the social changes were women s rights, conservation, and minority groups fighting against
discrimination. Women s rights was a big thing back then. Women started entering higher professions
and becoming doctors and lawyers. They fought to protect women and children. They also raised
money for libraries, schools, and parks. In 1919, women got the right to vote after working hard for
several years. Conservation was really important back then and still is to this day. Conservation means
the protection of natural resources. Roosevelt loved the outdoors and worried about the destruction of
the wilderness, so he pressed for conservation. Roosevelt also had thousands of acres of land set aside
for national parks, which is a natural area protected and managed by the federal government. Minority
groups fighting against discrimination was also a social change that occurred in the progressive era.
Some of these minority groups were Mexican Americans, African Americans, Jewish Americans,
Asian Americans, and Catholics. The NAACP worked for equal rights for African Americans.
Mexican Americans formed mutualists, or mutual aid groups who helped each other. Catholics were
looked down upon and because of discrimination, the set up their own schools called parochial

A Brief Note On The Civilian Aerospace Industry Essay
Introduction: The civilian aerospace industry comprises firms that produce aircraft and firms that parts
of these aircraft. The most commonly produced civilian transport airliners range from smaller
turboprop aircraft to larger wide body jets. Other types aircraft are produced in much smaller
quantities and include two seat leisure aircraft, corporate jets, and civilian helicopters.
Consumers of the American aircraft include the US government, airline companies, cargo
transportation companies, and various private businesses. Aircraft manufacturers contract with these
firms to produce aircraft. These manufacturers often subcontract with smaller companies for specific
components such as engines and electronics.
The limited amount of aircraft contracts and large economies of scale in aircraft production has led the
civilian aerospace industry to be dominated by a few large firms. The United States is home to most of
the major producers in the civil aerospace industry, notably the Boeing Company, United
Technologies, and General Electric. Due to the complexity of certain aircraft parts, subcontractor firms
specialize to only produce those components. For example, companies such as General Electric and
the United Technologies Corporation specialize in the production of aircraft engines. These parts are
then sold to companies like Boeing and incorporated into the airframe to produce a complete aircraft.
Notable foreign competitors include the European Aeronautic Defence and

Advantages Of The Cost Of Cost
Advantages of Absorption Costing
This Costing system takes both fixed and variable costs into consideration. This becomes very
essential for taking the pricing decisions, as the manufacturer will get a clear idea of the profit margin
to be made on each sale, as all costs would have been merged into the product cost.
Absorption cost treats all expenses as relevant. The absorption costing notes that, prices determined
for products and services must cover the organization s full expenditure system and, therefore, should
be included in unit costs.
The bottom line profitability measures indicate the expenses beard in the production areas which are

Under this costing method, a part of fixed cost is carried forward to the next accounting period as the
closing stock is valued at the total cost which includes fixed cost proportionally.
Under Absorption costing, unit costs at different levels of output are different hence, the process of
cost control and cost comparison is challenging.
Under this approach, monitoring efficiency can lead companies to make faulty decisions in terms of
production.
For a company making regular production and sales, with equal quantity of units each period,
absorption costing will show the real cost of goods sold. If the production and sales are irregular, this
approach will reflect that variable costs and fixed overheads change according to the sales. The fixed
overhead costs won t have any effect due to the level of production or sales but, variable costs will be
affected by the level of production or sales. For a company having fluctuations in the level of sales
and production, variable costs provide a better picture of costs to be incurred in order to run a business
unit.
The disadvantage of absorption costing approach is the method of managing the fixed overhead costs.
In this approach, all manufacturing costs are allocated to products. When companies do not make sales
of the products they produce in a period, these costs remain in the balance sheet. This keeps the
income high during periods

The Looking Glass Self And Identity
The looking glass self state by Antonio is a social psychology ideology that suggests that people s self
image develops out of their interactions with others and what other people perceive about them. This
concept, introduced by Charles Horton Cooley in 1902, suggests the development of one s self and
identity via interactions with others in the context of a society. Cooley underlined that the society
comprise of a network of inter working mental perceptions about one another. According to Lisa
McIntyre s The Practical Skeptic: Core Concepts in Sociology, (2013) the concept of the looking glass
self, influences the urge for one to study and understand oneself by reflecting on the manner in which
other people regard them, with the narrowed effect being the development of a sense of identity.
Therefore, self identity is the achieved result of viewing ourselves as others do.
The looking glass self commences at early age and develops all along a person s life since one will
continue modifying their self unless all social engagements are stopped. For Antonio, this concept has
been brought on board by causes of socialization like answerability. Answerability is an agent of
socialization that focus on calculating how to satisfy the expectations of others. (Kenny, 2012). By
being the underlying ingredient of social reason and action, answerability is simply holding
responsibility and being answerable for actions. It is characterized in terms of its roles in the

Reasons For Pe Being An Important Part Of The National...
The foundation subjects in the national curriculum comprise of history, geography, modern foreign
languages, physical education (PE), religious education, art and design, citizenship, computing, design
and technology and music (DFE 2013, p7).
All the foundation subjects have a place on the National Curriculum; however, for the purposes of this
essay we will be focussing on the reasons for PE being an important part of the National Curriculum.
The National Curriculum (DFE 2013, p5) states that every state funded school must offer a curriculum
which is balanced and broadly based and which promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and
physical development of pupils at the school and of society and, prepares pupils at the school for
opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life .
It aims to give children the knowledge that that they need to be educated citizens and gives an outline
of the core knowledge around which teachers can develop exciting and creative lessons to promote
pupils knowledge, understanding and skills as part of the wider school curriculum (DFE 2013, p6).
The key aims of PE on the national curriculum focusses on a healthy lifestyle developing competence
across several physical activity areas and for children to be active for sustained periods of time and
encouraging children to engage in competitive activities and sports (Smith 2014. P213).
At Key Stage 1 the national curriculum states that pupils should develop fundamental

the Joker makes her go through when taking naked pictures of her. Barbara is clothed in low neck

exposed, along with a small portion of her cleavage in the last panel. The vulgarity of the scene
immediately implies a relation to a sexual act, in this case, most probably being sexually violated by
the Joker. The emotions brought up by the illustration in the first two panels come rushing back to the
reader, but with a greater impact. They eventually realize the pain Barbara is going through in the
duration of the sequence. Although the writers and illustrators could have chosen a simple shirt and
pant, the dress and low cut shirt, which allowed a more revealing illustration of Barbara, do a better
job in presenting and foreshadowing her sexual assault. Similarly, the particular place where Barbara
is shot by the Joker implies the same ideas. The Joker shoots Barbara in her pelvic area, in order to
break her spine and paralyze her. Even though the spine could have been broken by shooting

Hammurabi Family Law Dbq Essay
Hammurabi was the king of Babylonia around 4000 years ago. Hammurabi had a code of laws with
282 laws. He had 3 different types of laws, family laws, property laws, and personal injury laws.
These laws might seem just, but they are unjust. Family laws are laws related to family life. Family
law 129 states, If a married lady is caught adultery with another man, they shall bind them and cast
them into the water, (document c). Family law 195 claims that If a son has struck his father, his hands
shall be cut off, (document c). Some might claim that these laws are just but actually, they are unjust
because they are too harsh. For example law 129 is unfair because what if the man is single and it s
not his fault that the girl is caught adultery with him, and then the man has to die along with the
women for something that was the women s fault. Law 195 is unjust because what if the father did

Property law 21 declares that If a man has broken through the wall to rob a house, they shall put him
to death and pierce him, or hang him in the hole in the wall which he has made, (document d).
Property law 48 states that If a man has borrowed money to plant his fields and a storm has flooded
his field or carried away the crop,... in that year he does not have to pay his creditor, (document d).
People often assume that these laws are just but they are unjust. Law 21 is unjust because killing
someone for stealing something small is too harsh. Maybe for a punishment for stealing a small item,
you could put them somewhere in jail. If the item was something valuable than that person should be
killed. Law 48 is unjust because if a storm kills the crops of the person who borrowed the money he
does not have to pay back the money to the creditor. This is unfair to the creditor because the creditor

THE TESTS OF A LEADER

1995
Editor s Note: Guiding change may be the ultimate test of a leader no business survives over the long
term if it can t reinvent itself. But, human nature being what it is, fundamental change is often resisted
mightily by the people it most affects: those in the trenches of the business. Thus, leading change is
both absolutely essential and incredibly difficult. Perhaps nobody understands the anatomy of
organizational change better than retired Harvard Business School professor John P Kotter. This
article, . originally published in the spring of 1995, previewed Kotter s 1996 book Leading Change. It
outlines eight critical success factors from establishing a sense of extraordinary ... Show more content

Sometimes executives underestimate how hard it can be to drive people out of their comfort zones.
Sometimes they grossly overestimate how successful they have already been in increasing urgency.
Sometimes they lack patience: Enough with the preliminaries; let s get on with it. In many cases,
executives become paralyzed by hbr.org |
the downside possibilities. They worry that employees with seniority will become defensive, that
morale will drop, that events will spin out of control, that short term business results will be
jeopardized, that the stock will sink, and that they will be blamed for creating a crisis. A paralyzed
senior management often comes from having too many managers and not enough leaders.
Management s mandate is to minimize risk and to keep the current system operating. Change, by
definition, requires creating a new system, which in turn always demands leadership. Phase one in a
renewal process typically goes nowhere until enough real leaders are promoted or hired into senior
level jobs. Transformations often begin, and begin well, when an organization has a new head who is a
good leader and who sees the need for a major change. If the renewal target is the entire company, the
CEO is key. If change is needed in a division, the division general manager is key. When these
individuals are not

John Waters Use Of Taboos In Cult Film
Taboo as defined the dictionary is: banned on grounds of morality or taste. Taboo topics in cult film
are often dealt with in an excessive manner. These taboos can include ideas about sex, family, and
gender roles among others. They showcase these taboos in an excess manner. The following films
have not only discussions of taboo subjects but depict taboo acts. The films Eraserhead and Pink
Flamingos feature excess and the liberal discussion of taboos. Eraserhead represents a taboo of
traditional family life. The way in which everyone treats the baby is a taboo against the traditional
family views of the time. The film appears to want you to be appalled by the actions of Henry towards
the baby . Traditionally there would be the husband ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Waters intends to break almost every possible taboo in this film. Waters s creatures were a
ménage of corpulent transvestites, blue haired flashers, egg sucking hags, and chicken fucking
adolescents, they write in John Waters Presents The Filthiest People Alive from Midnight Movies of
the characters in the film (137). This statement alone, about the characters, is enough to know this film
has crossed some lines. There is excess in the amount of taboos presented in this film including
bestiality, incest, cannibalism, and rape among many others. Some social taboos broken are worse
than others. While Divine holds the title of filthiest person alive it is her family that allows her to
reach that title. It is more so her son, Cracker that does or is involved in the worse taboo actions. His
act of bestiality with his chickens is much worse than Divine smuggling raw meat between her legs or
running a jogger off the road. Her most taboo act would be the incestuous act of fellating her son,
second to that being her murder of the Marble couple. The Marble couple on the other hand are
predators. Between their kidnapping of girls in order to impregnate them and sell their babies and his
flashing of his genitals to unsuspecting girls on the street, these two at first glance seem to be worse
and more vile than Divine and her

Analysis Of A Doll s House
A Doll s House is an iconic play focusing on the themes of respect and reputation, lies and deceit, men
and masculinity, and women and femininity. It emphasizes physical aspects of women, while
excluding influence on the men s appearance, giving insight into the time period. It shows how society
judged others while presenting information about how reputation influenced relationships and
marriage, leaving the audience pondering what would have happened to the Helmer family if Nora
had been unattractive. Both men and women were harshly judged, in different ways, and this
judgment impacted relationships and how they functioned.
From analysis of the play, the audience can gather that the people of the time period were very
materialistic. The female roles in the play are objectified, and treated like play things. The husband of
the protagonist, Torvald, tells Nora Why shouldn t I look at my dearest treasure?

at all the beauty that
is mine, all my very own? (Ibsen, 62). He is possessive of Nora, and claims that her beauty is all his
and his only, implying that he owns her. As one of the few male characters of the play, his actions and
personality reflect on the mentality of other men during the time period. Torvald s attitude towards her
is contrasted with that of Dr. Rank. Dr. Rank treats her as an equal and adores her presence, not just
her appearance, which is made clear when he comments that she should attend the next costume party
as a good fairy, but also mentions that

Roles Responsibilities as a Teacher
Review what your role, responsibilities and boundaries as a teacher would be in terms of the
teaching/training cycle
The Teaching/Training cycle is a model of assessment of needs, planning and review set out to guide
teachers in their roles, responsibilities and boundaries.
Initial assessment and the identification of individual learners needs is a crucial part of the learning
journey. The initial assessment of individual needs helps to identify both learners skills against
national standards and further diagnostic testing can identify preferred learning styles. The analysis of

  • 2. Persuasive Essay About False Confessions Almost everyone who has seen a cop television show or movie has heard the saying You have the right to remain silent . In America, people are raised to believe that the justice system never fails, and that no matter what happens justice will always prevail, though for some people this safety net has failed them. Since the late 1980s six studies have documented 250 interrogation induced false confessions. Police induced false confessions are the result of multistep process and sequence of influence, persuasion, and compliance. Imagine that a solider of the U.S. military is brought in for questioning, kept locked up for sixteen hours in an interrogation room, constantly threatened with the death penalty if they did not confess to the crime, and the whole time left without representation. In 1997 this was the case for four individuals from Norfolk, Virginia held without representation and forced to give false confessions. On July 8, 1997, William Bosko, an enlisted sailor returns home from a week at sea to find his wife Michelle Moore Bosko gruesomely murdered in their apartment. Detectives interview family, friends and neighbors of the couple before asking their next door neighbor Danial Williams to come in for questioning. Danial Williams is interrogated for the next 11 hours by detectives Maureen Evans and Robert Glenn Ford before confessing to the murder of Michelle Bosko. The Effect Of Temperature On The Air Temperature Results Subterranean Temperature Neither the sheltered microclimates occupied by the terrestrial isopods or the ambient environment reached a lethal temperature in the Clark Fork riparian zone during the October to November 2015 study period, however, subterranean lows varied significantly from ambient temperatures. During the period of stable daily weather fluctuations of mid to late October subterranean daily mean temperatures varied insignificantly from ambient temperatures (p = 0.75). Further deviation in the mean occurred with an increase in the intensity of temperature swings late in the observation period. Subterranean lows varied significantly by approximately 3°C from ambient lows during the mid to late October uniform temperature period (p = 0.02). The sheltered temperature remained on average 2.5°C warmer than the ambient air temperature later in the season. Ambient lows exceeded the subterranean low on two abnormally warm days in late October (Figure 2). Overall, the subterranean microclimate remained significantly warmer than the ambient temperature (p = 0.0001). The sheltered temperatures were largely warmer between 11/4 and 11/10 showing an increase in the rate of temperature decrease relative to the ambient temperatures. However, the rate of temperature decline across the sample period did not vary significantly between the two climates (p = 0.37). Subterranean Temperature Variability Temperature variation ... The Chevrolet Cobalt Vehicle General Motors acted in an unethical and negligent way by choosing not to take action when becoming aware of a fault in their ignition switch of the Chevrolet Cobalt vehicle. This caused the engine and electrical system to shut off if the keys were knocked, and ultimately resulting in multiple deaths due to the airbags not deploying during car accidents. General Motors first became aware of the problem in 2004 after a situation of the ignition switching off the vehicle after accidentally making contact with the key. Other employees soon replicated the ignition switch defect during test drives throughout that year. I feel saddened for the families of those involved in the fatal crashes that are a consequence of G.M. s negligent action in pursuing and correcting this problem. They were let down by a large corporation who knowingly were aware of a defect in the Chevrolet Cobalt, and if I was to be put in their situation, I would feel deep resentment towards General Motors. However, I am not surprised as I do already have a strong distrust for large corporations. After having read countless reports on the news of the unethical, and often illegal, courses of action that companies will do in order to essentially reduce costs and increase profits. While I feel angered by this, my feelings are irrelevant to corporations as they are only interested in ways in which they can increase profit. I felt the same way after having studied the Enron case earlier in the semester. Though I feel Enron has acted more unethically and unscrupulous intentionally than General Motors, I am still saddened and sorrowful for the individuals and families who were unknowingly being lied to by the corporations. Individuals and families involved in these cases feel both an emotional and physical loss. I feel as someone who values honesty, it angers me that innocent people were affected in this way and taken advantage of. For this research paper my goal is to explain and illustrate why certain populations tend to have higher infection rates of tuberculosis than the average population in the United States and what causes these higher rates. At what point do health officials step in and work on prevention in these specific populations and why are we not implementing the tuberculosis shot for these populations? There are currently a variety of vaccinations that are being tested and/or used throughout the world, although they are rarely used in the United States (Kupferschmidt, 2011). There are several research centers across the nation that are taking part of the research and development of these new vaccines including Harvard University and the University of California, Los Angeles (Kupferschmidt, 2011). These vaccinations are of great importance to some individuals, but its use is not perfect across all samples (Kupferschmidt, 2011). Tuberculosis was first discovered as a disease in 1882 by a scientist named Robert Koch (Rothman, 1994). Within a short period of time it was discovered that this was an infectious disease, along with being a disease that affected certain populations (Rothman, 1994). It was discovered that a vast majority of the individuals affected were either immigrant, therefore generally a minority population, or were of poor or working class status (Rothman, 1994). Several movements and directives were used during this time to attempt to stop the spread of tuberculosis, such as, being outside in the clean air as much as possible, not drinking alcohol, and drinking plenty of clean water, among others (Rothman, 1994). Between 1906 and 1919 a vaccine was developed by Albert Calmette and Camille Geurin, a pair of French scientists, to help prevent this terrible disease (Kupferschmidt, 2011). • 6. Carol Tavris Mistakes Were Made Two different but similar forms of writing are able to be tied down into one general but specific category. In the book, Mistakes Were Made (but not by me), by Elliot Aronson and Carol Tavris, Aronson and Tavris commentates on events that people go through. The book is mainly about Elliot Aronson s and Carol Tavris opinion on how people behave and should behave when caught in tough situations. Instead of focusing on one main character in the book, each section of the book illustrates a different person s situation and that situation would correspond with a specific theme in the chapter. Throughout the book, Aronson and Tavris give us a broad idea of how some psychological thinking/processes comes into play, each psychological concept corresponds to a chapter or section in the book, these ideas are: confirmation bias, revision of memories, self justification, pyramid of choice, cognitive dissonance, blind spots, closed loops, reducing cognitive dissonance, blaming, self justification (for the greater good), and (sunk costs). Another form of writing, Wrong Answer , by Rachel Aviv, is an article focusing on the main idea of a school going through tough times and the outcome of the actions taken by the staff. • 7. Case Study Of Arunachalam Mruganantham Abstract Introduction Uncertainty and ambiguity are a key challenge to every business organization existing today. Every individual should be equipped to build strategies that not only defends threats but also helps in taking advantage of the available opportunities. Obstacles and uncertainty must not prevent a person from doing things differently. Arunachalam Muruganantham is a person whose determination transformed all obstacles to his stride. • 8. A Study On Leap Of Faith Leap of Faith I peered over the edge of the cliff, staring down at the murky water below, the incessant roar of the waterfall on my left reverberated in my ears. Go on... jump! my brother Josh prodded, impatiently shifting from one foot to the other. The last word he said seemed to echo and grow louder with each repetition, taunting me as I fearfully faltered away from the edge. I was standing in a cave behind one of the Tavoro waterfalls in Taveuni, Fiji. My parents, two brothers, and I were in Fiji on a 2 week mission trip. We d spent most of the two weeks at a bustling compound, Vatuvonu Adventist School and Church, which consisted of a school, a church, a clinic, a few worn down huts, assorted administration and dorm buildings, and a rickety dock with huge spaces in between the worn wooden planks. While there we helped build a platform for a generator, fixed up a church, and ran a medical and dentistry clinic with the thirty other people in our mission group. We spent 10 of our 14 days at the compound, then took a ferry to Taveuni so we could stay at a resort for a few days. We wanted to explore the islands a bit and see what Fiji had to offer. We went snorkeling, we explored the tiny towns and villages, we went swimming in the Pacific Ocean, we rode a horse, we went flying in a tiny plane, and we tried many local foods. On one of our last days in Fiji we took a 2 hour bus ride to Bouma National Heritage Park, and hiked to the first Tavoro waterfall. After ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The Effects Of Urbanization On The Belizean Society Essay Negative Effects of Urbanization to the Belizean Society Many small town dwellers and villagers had left their hometown for the cities in search of higher standard of living. This movement from rural areas to big cities is called urbanization (Boundless, 2015). As a result, urbanization is the process by which there is an increase in the number and the percentage of people living in the urban settlements and the amount of industrialization of the settlement. In Belize statistics shows that 45% of the population lives in urban areas (Population Reference Bureau, 2014). It also refers to the increase in the size of land area occupied by urban settlements such as towns and cities. Although urbanization has brought about numerous positive impacts, it also has its share of disadvantages as well. The negative impacts of urbanization shall be discussed by means of the economic, environmental and social aspect. The main negative economic impact of urbanization in Belize is unemployment which ties into social conflict theory. According to Guardian Newspaper the Statistical Institute of Belize released its preliminary results for the April 2014 labor force survey on Wednesday, June 25, and it shows that the unemployment rate has decreased from 14.2 percent in September of 2013 to 11.1 percent in April of 2014 (Williams, 2014, P.18). Child labour affects children mentally and physically, as well as putting children at risk for abuse from employers. Child labour is an everyday task for as many as 280 million children. Child labour addresses many issues and thoughts such as, dehumanization, the lack of enforcement of child labour laws which exist in most countries in the world and the social effects of these uneducated children becoming our future. This essay will show what child labour really is and how it has and is affecting our world. Child labor began in the 1900s because many families were in poverty and needed everyone they could in their family working to bring in a slightly larger income. According to the author Irwin Yellowitz Children were useful as laborers because their size allowed them to move in small spaces in factories or mines where adults couldn t fit, children were easier to manage and control and perhaps most importantly, children could be paid less than adults. As the children worked, they were also not getting an education. In the 1900s, child labor was not an unusual thing. It was actually pretty common and part of the modern economy. People did try and reduce the amount of child laborers; it took a huge stock market collapse to convince the people. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The interactions that occur between people and non human animals, particularly in the Appalachian region, has led to profound changes both on the local community. The most significant interaction to take place and has influenced the area drastically is domestication. Four types of domestication at the forefront of Appalachian culture are livestock, blood sports, pet keeping, and animal s prevalence in oral folklore. Most of the poems are about one anonymous character who is enduring some type of hardship. Two of these poems are The Wife s Lament and The Ruin . In The Ruin the speaker in the poem is describing the disaster he or she sees. Buildings are crumbling, roofs ruined, yet the foundation of the city is still there. The city has endured hundreds of years worth of storms and time itself. The narrator then talks about how this city was created and all people were filled with joy. Streams were flowing and the stone building stood tall. Splendor and glad minded men filled the bright kingdom. The most commonly produced civilian transport airliners range from smaller turboprop aircraft to larger wide body jets. Other types aircraft are produced in much smaller quantities and include two seat leisure aircraft, corporate jets, and civilian helicopters. Absorption cost treats all expenses as relevant. The absorption costing notes that, prices determined for products and services must cover the organization s full expenditure system and, therefore, should be included in unit costs. Under this costing method, a part of fixed cost is carried forward to the next accounting period as the closing stock is valued at the total cost which includes fixed cost proportionally. Under Absorption costing, unit costs at different levels of output are different hence, the process of cost control and cost comparison is challenging. Under this approach, monitoring efficiency can lead companies to make faulty decisions in terms of production. For a company making regular production and sales, with equal quantity of units each period, absorption costing will show the real cost of goods sold. If the production and sales are irregular, this approach will reflect that variable costs and fixed overheads change according to the sales. The fixed overhead costs won t have any effect due to the level of production or sales but, variable costs will be affected by the level of production or sales. For a company having fluctuations in the level of sales and production, variable costs provide a better picture of costs to be incurred in order to run a business unit. Therefore, self identity is the achieved result of viewing ourselves as others do. The looking glass self commences at early age and develops all along a person s life since one will continue modifying their self unless all social engagements are stopped.
