• Example
Uses and Gratifications Information
I sometimes use YouTube to find information but mainly use
google to find information and news.
To find advice about anything I always use YouTube especially
with helping to make a decision.
To learn I use google and to satisfy my curiosity.
Uses and Gratifications Personal
Identity
• Sometimes when watching a soap you can relate and know
that something they are doing is wrong.
• You can develop behavioural traits from watching too much of
that person I know me personally I have definitely done that.
• Some people can relate to certain people and feel like they
can get help from these certain people such as youtubers,
streamers or even celebrities.
Uses and Gratifications Integration and
Social Interaction
• Social interaction consists of more than
belonging its more about sharing story's and
receiving them as well as having and giving to
people that don’t have what others do.
Uses and Gratifications Entertainment
• Entertainment is about loosing yourself in
shows and enjoyment. You can finally escape
and relax whilst watching something you
enjoy.
Consumer Generated Content
• Example
– The audience contributing and creating content that will be used in a
media product
• What are the advantages to media producers?
– Media producers wont have to do as much creating and can just put
together what other people have made.
• Why would the audience generate content?
– To show they are looking forward to what is about come to out and
have fun creating something towards it.
Psychographics
• Belongers
– These individuals are more “mainstream” than those in other
categories, always wanting to fit in with their families, friends, and
community.
• Achievers
– People in this category are very ambitious, always busy, need to
constantly be productive, and dislike anything they feel is a waste of
time.
• Emulators
– These people want to be achievers, but they’re missing either the
skillset or work ethic to get there.
Psychographics
• Balanced
– They strive to earn as much money as possible, but then spend it on
benefitting mankind, rather than themselves.
• Needs Driven
– these individuals struggle with money management, either through poor
choices or because they were brought up in a poverty-stricken environment.
• Socially Conscious
- A: they aim to achieve greatness for the world as a whole, instead of just
for themselves.
- B: these people see nothing but doom and destruction for the human
race.
