The document discusses grading systems in education. It defines grading systems as applying standardized measurements to assess different levels of achievement in a course. There are three main types of grading systems: absolute grading, direct grading, and relative grading. Absolute grading assigns grades based on pre-determined cutoff scores, such as 90-100 for an A, 80-89 for a B, and so on. Grades are given based on a student's individual performance compared to set standards, rather than their performance relative to other students. The document also mentions that grading should be an integral part of instruction to provide feedback to students and report progress to parents.

Criterion and Norm - Referenced Interpretations and the Four Frames of ReferenceMr. Ronald Quileste, PhD
This presentation is all about knowing Criterion and Norm-referenced interpretations. This presentation will give you an idea when are tests considered needing criterion or norm-referenced descriptions. The four frames of reference are also discussed here. Assessment of Learning 1 Lesson
This research-oriented presentation summarizes current best practices in grading, emphasizes why these practices are essential (especially for ELLs), and provides recommendations for teachers to help them avoid common pitfalls in grading while adopting policies and procedures that will increase motivation and encourage academic success in their ELLs.
A toolkit that includes a range of assessment strategies is a must for every teacher! Rubrics can provide great feedback to students about their learning and areas for development for them to focus on. A good rubric can be both an assessment strategy for learning and of learning. This session will overview the types of rubrics that can be used and how to develop a set of criteria, supporting statements and assessment values for your students.

f you offer a service on the web, odds are that someone will abuse it. Be it an API, a SaaS, a PaaS, or even a static website, someone somewhere will try to figure out a way to use it to their own needs. 3. CONCEPT
When students level of performance are
thus classified in to a few classificatory
units using letter grades ,this system of
assessment is called grading system.
4. Grading is the primary means by which the
results of assessments are summarized and
communicated.
Grading should not be an afterthought; it
should be treated as an integral part of the
instructional process.
5. Grades are one tool that schools
use when reporting to parents.
The progress report of the child
should be given to the parent at the
end of each semester.
6. DEFINITION
•GRADING SYSTEM : In
education is the process of applying
standardized measurements of varying
levels of achievement in a course .
7. TYPES OF GRADING SYSTEM:
i. Absolute Grading
ii.Direct Grading
iii.Relative Grading
8. 1. ABSOLUTE GRADING SYSTEM:
Absolute grading means grades are assigned according to cutoff
levels decided before the start of the course . The familiar set of
levels is to assign an A to everyone with a score in the 90’s [out
of 100 possible] ,a B to those in the 80’s , C for 70’s , D for 60’s .
Sometimes an absolute criterion for pass is set at 65. with the
absolute grading , the number of students receiving any
particular letter grade depends on the scores achieved by the
class .
9. Based on a defined set of standards when
evaluating a students performance .
MERITS
•No reference to the
performance of others .
•All students can
obtain high grades .
DEMERITS
• It leads to the gradual
extension of the idea of fault
to all torts .
• It has limited application .
Only limited to hazardous
activity .
•It gives too much
emphasis on enterprise
liability .
