Solar collector : A device designed to absorb incident solar radiation and to transfer the energy to a fluid passing in contact with it, usually liquid or air.
Flat – Plate Collector : A typical flat-plate collector is an insulated metal box with a glass or plastic cover (called the glazing) and a dark-colored absorber plate. These collectors heat liquid or air at temperatures less than 180°F.
Importance of Operation Research in Decision Making – MIT School of Distance ...MIT School
Operation Research is considered to be the most supportive means in management because it can help in resolving any uncertain or complex problem easily. Decisions, controlling, productivity these points show the importance of operation research in the decision-making process. At MIT School of Distance Education (MIT-SDE), we train our students in such a way that they become decision-makers. So, apply for our management courses and gain a competitive edge.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2. • Assume that, a junction with many vehicles
• How we are controlling all these?
• By using a traffic signal light
3. • What will happen if there only one
light in the traffic signal?
• Is it possible to handle the same
situation?
• The control techniques which we
have is very less but the situation
need different controls
7. Law of Requisite Variety
• “Only variety absorbs variety”
• Rosh Ashby
• The variety of regulator has to match
with the variety of system
8.
9. Law of Requisite Variety
• Law of requisite variety is one of the basic notation of system control theory,
to obtain control
• This has various rigorous formulations, but a commonsense, understanding is
that to control each possible state of system elements
• This means also that the control for the system must be able to determine of
variables and send system change instructions for each change
• The Law of requisite variety needs that for a system to be control, every
controller (human/machine) must be provided with enough control responses
(what to do in each case) to cover all possible condition the system may face
10. Contd…
• The law of requisite variety means that for a system to be controlled, every
controller(human and machine) must be provided with:-
1. Enough control responses (what to do in each case) to cover all possible
conditions the system may face
2. The decision rules for generating all possible control responses or
3. The authority to become a self organizing system in order to generate control
responses
• Enumerating all responses is possible in simple cases. In complex systems providing
control responses is very difficult
