Impact Of Hilton Hotel
Introduction
Tourism is one of the most international industries. Globalisation is the gradual forging of links
between groups and societies until they finally reach around the globe in several directions (Smith,
D,2006). Globalization is one of the serious challenges facing managers today. It is critical to develop
services that are able to satisfy a highly diverse customer base (Ueltschy et al., 2007) Now to keep up
with the rising levels of globalization in the hotel industry, there s a need to understand not only the
positive, but also the negative impacts of globalisation. I ll also talk about the growth and rise of one
of the most respected brands in the hospitality industry the Hilton Hotels. Throughout the evolution of
this famous organization, the Hilton has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, in the hospitality industry, the Hilton brand symbolises high end properties, elevated
quality of service and a unique guest experience. Brand name and brand image are essentially two
factors that differentiate companies which operate in the same industry and market. Therefore, the
brand name must be unique. Hotel companies like the Hilton have established strong national brands
and seek to use them globally with an intention of increasing profits. Once its established as a global
brand, the company has successfully created an international image that can lead to increased
efficiency through branded marketing efforts and cost savings on a much larger scale. Nowadays with
an increase in international travel, the competition among international hotel corporations is becoming
a lot more competetive. Those tourists that travel to foreign countries tend to stay in one of the known
hotel brands and their standardised quality of service. Hotel chains are motivated to maintain a high
rate of global expansion as a key marketing strategy of creating brand loyalty (King,

Angiogenic Pathogenesis
The progression from fibrosis to cirrhosis, the end point of CLDs, is distinguished by a prolonged
inflammatory and fibrogenic process that leads to an abnormal angioarchitecture distinctive for
cirrhosis. Several mechanisms are responsible for the angiogenic switch during the pathogenesis of
CLDs. First, CLDs are characterised by chronic inflammation. Increased intrahepatic vascular
resistance is primarily caused by anatomical changes, such as fibrotic scar tissue compressing portal
and central venules. In addition, the formation of fibrotic septa, as well as sinusoidal capillarisation,
can result in an increased resistance to blood flow and oxygen delivery. This results in hypoxia and the
transcription of hypoxia sensitive pro angiogenic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The characteristic fenestrated phenotype of the sinusoidal ECs is lost and an organised basement
membrane is established, which leads to an impairment of oxygen diffusion even though the increased
arterial flow provides a high supply of oxygenated blood . The deposition of collagen in the space of
Disse accentuates the narrowing and distortion of the sinusoidal lumen, further restricting
microvascular blood flow. This is aggravated by leucocytes, either mechanically trapped in the
narrowed sinusoids or adhering to the endothelium, as a result of activation of a hepatic microvascular
inflammatory response. The hypoxic liver tissue causes an up regulation of VEGF, Ang and their
receptors in HSCs, not only enhancing the hypoxia induced angiogenesis but also stimulating
activation and migration of HSC. As stated previously, activated HSCs induce an inflammatory
response and enhance angiogenesis. New vessels themselves can significantly contribute to the
perpetuation of the inflammatory response by expressing chemokines and adhesion molecules
promoting the recruitment of inflammatory cells. Furthermore, angiogenesis, early in the course of a
CLD, may contribute to the transition from acute to chronic

Pros And Cons Of Keeping The Driving Age
How many people die every year from car accidents? How many of those people qualify as careless
teenagers? Nearly 1.3 million people die each year in car accidents, which is on average 3,287 deaths
per day. Young drivers between the ages of fifteen and twenty account for sixty percent of these
accidents. For almost a century, the age for teenagers to be allowed to drive on public roads without
supervision has been sixteen, resulting in a higher death rate due to the carelessness of young drivers
in the United States. For example, as stated by the Free Personal Injury Help Center, one in every
three teens says they text or email while driving: the number one cause of deaths among all drivers.
The amount of young and old drivers on the road ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Teenagers are more likely to speed than older drivers because people have less developed brains at the
ages of 16 or 17 than at 21 or 22. As a result, one in four teenagers are aggressive drivers and almost
twenty percent of teenagers admit that they enjoy speeding, as stated in the New York Times. Drunk
driving is a recent problem even among adults. Although drinking and driving is illegal, and drinking
under the age of twenty one is illegal, twenty five percent of all fatal car crashes caused by teens
involve an underage drunk driver. Teenagers also have the lowest rate of seat belt use, and seat belts
are the most effective way of reducing accidents. In addition, texting while driving is the number one
cause of car accidents among teenagers due to the development of social media. This causes teens to
drive while looking down at their phones, which can eventually put them in the hospital. Therefore,
raising the driving age to 21 will prevent teens from dying due to car accidents the number one cause
of teen deaths in 2013, according to the CDC Injury

The Pros And Cons Of Subsidies In The Market
Free markets are very effective in determining an equilibrium in the market that benefits everyone.
Nevertheless free markets do not always reach optimal output levels due to external market forces
such as demographic factors or technological changes. The fact that a free market does not reaches
optimal output is called market failure and leads to welfare loss (also called deadweight loss). In order
to avoid market failure, government intervention, such as subsidies, is needed.
Due to the industrialization and to new technologies the production of food became more effective
than ever before. First the governments in the European Union supported and promoted the huge
production of food, until they realized that the farmers produced even ... Show more content on

One of these possibilities are subsidies. A subsidy is a financial help by a government for a specific
economic sector in a country s economy.
According to the WTO (World Trade Organization) a subsidy is defined as a financial contribution by
a government which confers a benefit. Also the WTO states that there are two general types of
subsidies. The first type of subsidy is an export subsidy which is defined as a benefit conferred on a
firm by the government that is contingent on exports. The second type of subsidy is a domestic
subsidy which is defined as a benefit not directly linked to exports. (www.wto.org)
Subsidies are a way for governments to intervene in the market in order to guarantee a stable market
and to eradicate the welfare loss. Welfare loss, also known as deadweight loss, is the reduction in total
economic surplus that results from the adoption of a policy. (McDowell, 2009 p.201)
A subsidy can appear in different forms, such as cash payments, tax concessions, and in kind
subsidies. Subsidies that appear in form of cash payments are mostly paid via cheque or bank transfer
to specific chosen firms or institutions.

The Place of Islamic Law in Tanzania Mainland
THE PLACE OF ISLAMIC LAW IN TANZANIA MAINLAND.
BY YUSUF SHIKANDAABDALLAH
ZANZIBAR UNIVERSITY.
Introduction: Islam is one of the Universal religions of the world. As a religion, Islam is governed by
an assortment of divine laws known as shariah of which its sources are mainly attributed to the divine
revelations in the Holy Qur an and traditions of the Prophet (P.B.U.H). This package is what forms the
basis of the spiritual, economic, political and social guidance of Muslims. Thus, all the laws of Islam
have to be annexed to and borne of the Holy texts. Contrary to this, such laws would be regarded as un
Islamic. On the other hand, as regards the modern states, the mother of all laws is the constitution. It

In effect, Native Courts were established in 1929 by the Native Courts Ordinance, Cap 73.These
Native Courts were subordinate to the High Court. The Native Courts were presided over by Liwali,
Kadhi, Akida, Chief, and Headman and were to exercise civil or criminal jurisdiction within an area
prescribed by the Governor. However, the life of these courts came to an end in 1951 when the Local
Courts Ordinance, Cap 299 came into being. The Local courts were confined to Africans and
administered customary criminal and civil law and a limited number of statutory laws. Another
development was witnessed in 1958 when urban courts were established by the Liwalis (Functions
and Powers) Ordinance, Cap.408.Liwali courts were presided over by magistrates employed by the
Government under the title of liwalis who also exercised executive functions within their own urban
area. Although the British colonial state gave recognition to the indigenous judicial institutions under
native law and custom, it however, permitted customary criminal law to be applied by the Native
subordinate courts but not the Islamic criminal law. The turning point for the administration of justice
in Tanganyika was in 1920, when the British colonizers officially imported and imposed an alien legal
system. This was done through the Tanganyika Order in Council 1920.According to this order , courts
were to apply native law subject to the English

During my undergraduate work back in Venezuela, I wanted to make news reports because I admire
the power and beauty of truth. Although I learned how to produce news and consider myself a
journalist, I was missing something. I wanted to work with stories based on realities, that would stay
on the screen for a longer period than two to three minutes the standard news time per package.
Moreover, I wanted to combine the power of reality content and the elegance of cinema something
that is not relevant in the T.V. world due to the need for immediacy. Furthermore, I wanted to express

Immigrant Stories is a 40 minute documentary that seeks to address the misinterpretation of
immigration in the United States. It is directed to two groups: non immigrants who dream about being
immigrants based on an American Dream or what they watch in the media, and Americans who
perceive immigration as a negative issue due to misconceptions.
As mentioned previously, I am an international student and I consider myself a migrant which,
according to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), can be
understood as, any person who lives temporarily or permanently in a country where he or she was not

Disadvantages Of Texting And Driving Essay
Texting and driving has become a recent issue in today s world. Many teens, as well as adults, have
formed a habit of texting while driving. Texting while driving is distracting and the possibilities of
getting into a car accident while texting and driving are higher than if you are not. Texting while
driving has gotten so ridiculous the government has realized this is an ongoing problem that is causing
accidents. In attempting to prevent this, new laws have been passed, making the use of cell phones
while driving a car, illegal. However, too many people do not respect or pay attention to this law
which put many people lives at risk. There are several disadvantages of texting while driving,
including jail time/prison, fatal crashes, and loss of lives. One disadvantage of texting while driving is

Some of the injuries may be broken bones or the loss of a body part, also may lead to concussions and
comas. These fatal crashes may put people in the hospital for weeks to months. Some people may end
up temporarily or permanently paralyzed. (The National Safety Council) reports that cell phone use
while driving leads to 1.6 million crashes each year. Nearly 330,000 injuries occur each year from
accidents caused by texting while driving. 1 out of every 4 car accidents in the United States is caused
by texting and driving. Texting while driving is 6x more likely to cause an accident than driving under
the influence. Texting while driving causes 400% increase in time spent with eyes off the road.
Highway crashes cost the USA $871 billion a year, new study finds. Total includes both economic
costs and societal harm. The total includes $277 billion in economic costs, nearly $900 for each
person living in the USA, and $594 billion in societal harm from the loss of life and the pain and

Literature Review On Gifted Education
An Exploratory Literature Review: Trends in Early Childhood Gifted Education
First Phase Research Results
Introduction
My interest gifted education started, when I reflected on my teaching experience and philosophy.
Before start pursuing my master degree in the US, I was a kindergarten teacher. During my practice in
a public school kindergarten classroom, I had a very bright student who immediately picked up cues
that I gave about the activity of the day. She was quickly and correctly finishing the basic math
activities. In addition, she was very creative during the art activities. She also demonstrated leadership
skills among her classmates. While I was evaluating her, I attributed her success to her family
environment. Compared to her classmates, she had very attentive parents. Moreover, she was the last
child of the family and her older two siblings were academically successful role models for her. Most
importantly, she also attended preschool before she started kindergarten; therefore, her performance
was higher compared to classmates who did not have these same experiences. Once I become familiar
with advance courses in gifted education, I now realize and feel my mistake, which was either not to
consult schools guidance counselor or learn more how to engage her with different type of activities.
Therefore, as a part of my professional development, I wanted to focus on the teacher role in the early
childhood gifted education. However, I had very little knowledge about

Eagle Scout Life Lessons
As Baden Powell once said, A Scout is never taken by surprise; he knows exactly what to do when
anything unexpected happens. Scouting has been very important to me over the past 7 years. The
structure of Boy Scouts being primarily boy led, allows each scout to take initiative and lead their
peers through different scenarios and work together to make tough decisions. Each individual is
responsible for their own advancement; nobody spoon feeds the information to you. Over the past 7
years, I have progressed to the rank of Life Scout and have begun the last step to achieving the highest
rank in Boy Scouts; the rank of Eagle Scout. These seven years have left a tremendous impact on my
life. I have learned many valuable life lessons regarding dedication, leadership, and commitment
throughout my scouting career. These qualities did not come easy. I faced several challenges and
setbacks along the way and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Organ Donation. “Organ Donation Is Not A Tragedy, But It
Organ Donation Organ donation is not a tragedy, but it can be a beautiful light, in the midst of one

People should become organ donors because of the limited availability of organs and the chance to
save many lives. Although many people think that if you are an organ donor doctors won t try as hard

It is said that ¨While about 80% of Americans support donation, there are fewer than 50% who agree
to organ donation if approached upon the death of a family member¨ (Organ Donation). Doctors
usually ask family members if it is okay to donate the organs, even if they say they are donors on their
licence. The opt out policy would allow you to donate your organs regardless of your family members
saying no when approached upon your death. An opt out policy is not the only thing that we can do to
help increase the number of available organs. Despite the fact it is illegal to sell organs, to help
increase the numbers of donors, some states are offering to pay the family indirectly. If a family agrees
to organ donation, Pennsylvania pays $300 directly to the family s funeral home to help defray the
cost of the funeral (Organ Donation). With some states paying the family indirectly, there has been an
increase in the number of donors. Being paid indirectly helps the families immensely. Not only does
this help with the costs, but it takes away any stress they may have had about being able to afford the
funeral. There s no question that a change needs to be made to help improve the number of available
organs. Last, becoming an organ donor gives you a chance to save up to fifty lives. This quote When I

Our primary focus here lies in determining the effectiveness and awareness of the currently existing
communications network at Middlesex University and to also gain an insight on the preferences and
attitudes of the students regarding the same.
Research designs can be broadly labeled as exploratory, descriptive or causal. For achieving the
desired answers to our current problem, exploratory research was chosen. Exploratory research
designs are ones characterized by a flexible and evolving approach to understand marketing
phenomena that are inherently difficult to measure. (Malhotra 2007)
Some of the reasons for choosing this mode of research are; * Exploratory research is optimum for
indentifying and exploring concepts in development of products or in forms of marketing
communications; a primary objective for Middlesex University. * As stated by Malhotra(2007), its
vital to develop an understanding of the structure of beliefs and attitudes in order to aid the
interpretation of data structures which goes to invest in another primary objective; that of
understanding the student s attitudes and preferences to Middlesex University s communications
systems. * Mainly, to explore the reasons behind vivid statistical differences between different
demographic groups.

Business Intelligence Plan Essay
Business Intelligence Plan
Executive Summary
The purpose of this report is to explain the importance of Business Intelligence and all of its
components for implementation into the business structure. During the recent years obtaining useful
information in real time has become something that is extremely important, if not even a critical,
factor of success for companies. The time managers have available for use in making business
decisions has been reduced dramatically. Competitive pressures are now requiring that businesses
make intelligent decisions based on their incoming business data, and these decisions must be made
immediately (Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing, 2005, p.5; Hocevar ... Show more content

This is an essential component of BI for arriving at valid business decisions. Similar data can be
stored in multiple repositories within a single business; one example would be the inventory of items
for sale. When considering data sources, it is important to understand if there is a recognized
authoritative source for a specific type of data. In many enterprises, the data required for making
business decisions is created by wide ranging applications, perhaps from separate lines of business
(Theme 1).
BI systems today have the capacity to work with numerous types of data such as numerical or non
numerical data. The quality of this data is as important as any other data. The difference in the level of
data quality is one of the many factors that may explain why some organizations are successful with
their BI initiative while some are not so successful (Isik, O., Jones, M.C., Sidoroya, A. 2011).
Component three is Data Analytics. This component is used for the analysis of data. Data analytics
refers to the business intelligence technologies that are grounded for the most part in data mining and
statistical analysis. Due to the success that has been achieved overall by the data mining and statistical
analysis community, data analytics continues to be an active area of research (Hsinchun, Chiang,
Storey, 2012).
Data analytics are structured in statistical theories and models, multivariate statistical analysis. It also

The Awakening: 2014 Prompt
In The Awakening by Kate Chopin, Edna Pontellier is a housewife who spend her days chatting with
friends and going to the beach in Grand Isle, Louisiana. She feels empty, and almost like an object,
whose sole purpose is to satisfy the needs of her family. However, after a summer on Grand Isle, she
begins to express her feelings and desires with the help of her friends and the surrounding Creole
culture. Edna eventually undergoes a massive transformation during which she discovers what she is

However, all the time she spends listening to piano playing, is time she is not spending with her
children or husband and neglecting her social duties. They become so distanced around this time that
they are not even sleeping in the same bed and barely even see each other. This demonstrates that all
of Edna s creative ventures have come at a price, her marriage, but she values her self expression so
much that she does not seem to mind.
Edna s sacrifice of her family also illuminates one of her main values, freedom. In the beginning of
the novella, Edna is reserved and demure. However her friendship with Adele Ratignolle encourages
her to follow the creole style of expression and become more open and candid with her actions and
voice. The friendship helps her learn to value herself as a person with real emotions, rather than a
piece of property for her husband. This marks the beginning of her awakening, as she becomes more
open with her feelings, prompting her to further her relationship with Robert. They begin to move past
the level of innocent flirtation the Creoles are accustomed to, against the advice of Adele, leading
Edna to a new sexual freedom as she continuously chooses to spend her time with Robert rather than
her family. However, perhaps one of the most prominent examples of Edna s high value of freedom
comes at the very end

There are four types of Cerebral Palsy: Spastic, Dyskinesia, Ataxic, and Mixed. Spastic is the most
common form (NINDS.gov, 2017). Spastic is classified as stiffness in the muscles and awkward
movements. Spastic cerebral palsy is further classified by the main affected body areas. Spastic
Hemiplegia/Hemiparesis affects the arms, hands, and sometimes the legs of one side of the body. This
can lead to the affected side being shorter and thinner. Persons afflicted tend to walk with a gait if they
walk at all and develop scoliosis, an abnormal curvature of the spine. Spastic Diplegia/Diparesis
affects the legs and is less severe in the arms and face. Those with this form of CP have tightness in

Social and economic class divides are a common theme in Chekhov s works. If fact, social and
economic class divides are a common theme in everyday life; while modern day America does not
have the same codified and rigid class system as Chekhov s nineteenth century Russia, the reality of
class rears its head both in modern fiction, and in modern life. However, this paper will focus not on
modern American class structures, but on contem porary Russian class structures as viewed through
Chekhov s Enemies and The Death of a Government Clerk. These stories (written in 1887 and 1883
respectively) both heavily fea ture the minutia of vertical class interaction in nineteenth century
Russia. With The Death of a Government Clerk displaying the rigid interactions within the
government service, and Enemies showing the reader the less codified interactions between a
physician (a member of the working class) and a man of wealth. Through these stories Chekhov
highlights the limited ways interaction can take place between classes. In The Death of a Government
Clerk we see the relationship between a clerk and a high ranking government official (a General in the

Importance Of Drinking Water Essay
Rural India has more than 700 million people residing in about 1.42 million habitations spread over 15
diverse ecological regions. Meeting the drinking water needs of such a large population can be a
daunting task. The non uniformity in level of awareness, socio economic development, education,
poverty, practices and rituals and water availability add to the complexity of the task. Despite an
estimated total of Rs. 1,105 billion spent on providing safe drinking water since the First Five Year
Plan was launched in 1951, lack of safe and clean drinking water continues to be a major obstacle and
a national economic burden.
Around 37.7 million Indians are affected by waterborne diseases annually; 1.5 million children are
estimated to die of diarrhoea alone in each year.
In our constitution the provision of safe drinking water has been given utmost priority, with Article 47
conferring the duty of providing clean drinking water and improving public health standards to the
State. The government has undertaken various programmes and policies since independence to
provide safe drinking water to the rural population. Till the 10th plan, an estimated total of Rs.1,105
billion spent on providing secure drinking water. One would argue that the expenditure is huge but it
is also true that despite such expenditure lack of safe and secure drinking water continues to be a
major issue and challenge for our country.
On one hand the pressures of development is changing the distribution of

Piglets Decomposition
Decomposition of a corpse is a continual process that can take from weeks and possibly even years,
depending on the environment. To illustrate the process of decomposition, we use the piglets as the
model corpse. We had piglets that were in all dissimilar states to watch each decompose differently. In
this essay, I will explain to you the exploit I had while examining the decomposition of piglets.
It is safe to say that we all are at curiosity to which piglets decomposes the quickest. We had a piglet
that was in its natural state, one that was burnt, one that is buried, and one that is buried in a wooden
box. The piglet that was in its natural state decomposed the rapidly than each and every other piglet.

From the moment of death flies are attracted to bodies. Without the normal defenses of a living
animal, blowflies and house flies are able to lay eggs around wounds and natural body openings.
These eggs hatch and move into the body. Wasps begin to get attracted to the decomposing piglet in
the air and they lay their eggs inside maggots. Animals can feed on hair like moths.
The outcome of a decomposing piglet on the soil underneath changes. The moisture, temperature and
the nature of soil are key factors in the rate of decay. While the piglet is decomposing on the soil, the
grass beneath begins to die. It gets moisture of the decomposing piglet but it has no sunlight to grow.
The grass then begins to grow around the piglet. When you look at a rock that has been misplaced in
your yard, you will see grass beginning to form around it and over top of it. When you move the rock,
you ll see just wet soil and insects underneath. That is what a decomposing piglet in the grass

Kim Phuc Will Forever Be Scarred
Kim Phuc will forever be scarred by the June 8, 1972 napalm bombing. The famous photo of Kim

Euro Disney: The First 100 Days The decision to open a theme park in France was not the best idea.
There were many factors that proved to hinder the advancement of progress in regards to the European
extension of Disney since its inception. The foremost would be that of the civil unrest that seemed to
plague France at the time Euro Disney was scheduled to open. There were protests, transportation
strikes, terrorist threats, etc. all which directly or indirectly affected the Euro Disney s attendance.
Also, the $10 million ad campaign seemed very costly, especially considering the fact that this was
more than two decades ago. French critics seemed to be excessively harsh as well. On a positive note,

Euro Disney should have made the core of its theme park employee s ones who already were
employed with Disney in the US or US citizens familiar with Disney. If Euro Disney is contemplating
proceeding with a second phase, it would not be a recommended step. The company needs to first
address the issues at hand, low attendance for example, or poor customer service. After handling those
issues, only then will the company is ready to proceed with the next step. Euro Disney has learned
many lessons, the foremost being that the countries reception of a company can positively or
negatively affect the sales of said company. This is evidenced by the extremely negative reviews and
harsh French criticism received by Euro Disney and the company not meeting expectations. The park
should not be adapted for the local market because that is not what the consumer is looking for. The
customer wants to have the Disney feel, and to take away from that by making changes to it takes
away the opportunity for them to obtain that Disney feel. In regards to staffing, Euro Disney should
have outsourced to the US. Because most US citizens are familiar with the Disney culture, they would
be better suited to relay said culture to the European population as Disney employees. Works Cited 1.

Reviewing Manheim s Compensation Plan For Their Sales...
In reviewing Manheim s compensation plan for their sales representative, we examined the
commission component. Incentive compensation is subject to ongoing changes and adjustments that
exist to shape and direct the sales force. Manheim s current structure pays employees a monthly
commission based on the number of vehicles bought and sold through their consignment sales.
Examining the extensive data revealed that there are a multitude of factors involved in establishing
commission plans and actually earning a commission payout. Beginning with 2015 sales data,
acquired through Manheim s customer relationship management (CRM) software, 124 field sales rep
commission payments were analyzed. Specifically pulling the data from the months of ... Show more

This year, March had 5 weeks and Sally earned $3,350. The difference between the two months is
$1,630. Most monthly bills are static regardless of the number of business days on the calendar. As an
example, Sally s mortgage for March 2015 and March 2016 would be the same despite the difference
in the number of working days. With commission programs it is important that performance is
accurately tracked, payouts occur timely, and all information is clearly communicated (Stein, 2011)
Through the use of Salesforce.com, one can acquire the necessary data to utilize simple financial
modeling to forecast the likely outcomes of varying commission plan designs. When a goal is set for a
month, based on the previous years data there are two to three months each year where the number of
working weeks or consignment sale days is off track from the previous year. When this occurs it
becomes virtually impossible for a sales rep to achieve their monthly goal in the shorter months.
Employees often use those months to purposely perform below average to increase their commission
payouts in the following months. In turn, this can negatively impact corporate budgets. If goals are
adjusted, based on the number of consignment sale days in a month and not simply just year over year
monthly results, employees would receive more evenly distributed payouts and the company would
see more consistent sales results.
The specific adjustment recommended, is to alter field

Examples Of Grit In Nursing
There are a lot of different ways people could think of grit. My concept of grit would be having the
passion and perseverance to accomplish something. My goal is to one day be a travel nurse. There are
alot things that come with nursing, becoming a travel nurse will be challenging but with courage,
follow through and excellence rather than perfection you can achieve that goal. To become a travel
nurse you need to obtain a bachelors of science in nursing and have no less than one year of
experience in the the speciality applied for. To get your bachelors of science in nursing you have to go
through a five semesters of nursing classes and then pass the NCLEX exam. To get through five
semesters you will need a good bit of courage. There is one quote In the passage 5 characteristics of
grit: how many do you have? that stands out to me the most. Perlis states, While courage is hard to

of failure is imperative and predictor of success. (perlis 3). This quote to me says, the level of gritienst

The Theme Of Education In The Lesson By Toni Bambara
In regard to the topic of privilege, the short story The Lesson by Toni Bambara stresses that education
is a means to overcome poverty. This thematic statement is furthered constantly in the text by literary
elements such as setting, characterization and point of view. First, is the characterization of Miss
Moore. Throughout the story, Miss Moore demonstrates an interesting comparison to the children. In
many ways, she provides a contrast to them, which is shown immediately in her introduction, ...this
lady moved on our block with nappy hair, and proper speech, and no makeup. And quite naturally, we
laughed at her... Miss Moore was her name. The only woman on the block with no first name .
Furthermore, Miss Moore s obvious dedication and value for education is somewhat unaligned with
the children s own views about education. Nonetheless, she aims to use the children s disadvantaged
lives in order to prove to them the value of education, which remains a central theme throughout the
story. However, she is able to accomplish this because of a few key commonalities between herself
and the children. They do, after all live in the same neighborhood, and, more poignantly, both face
challenges associated with being black in America. This point brings us to the next major literary
element of the story: setting. Published in 1972, it can be inferred that The Lesson takes place in this
same era. The 1970 s provided a key area of public and societal reform after the American Civil

Diligent men and women in the military are required to spend seven to sixteen weeks in boot camp
without anyone by their side. These heroes are required to be active for four years and inactive for two
years and, consequently, they have to be away from their family and friends for a long time in service.
These men and women often go through daily situations, and most of their spirits are in distress. A lot
of United States citizens often forget how exhausting working in the military can be. Since 2003,
Operation Gratitude volunteers have assembled and shipped 1,750,000 care packages to lift the spirits
of United States Armed Forces service members, caregivers, and family. People help assemble and

There was a marked improvement in China s economy. To further increase and attract foreign

Different Systems in a Human Body Essay
Human Body System Interaction
.
All the systems in the human body are vital to our survival and well being. If you take away the
functions of just one of these systems our whole body will cease to work properly. The main systems
of the human body are the nervous, endocrine respiratory, circulatory, immune, digestive, excretory,
skeletal, muscular, and the reproductive systems. They all work together in harmony and unison to
keep us alive. The nervous and endocrine systems are what control most of the body. The nervous
system includes the brain, spinal, cord and nerves. The endocrine system consists of various hormonal

Without the respiratory system our body would just be an airless lump. The circulatory and immune
systems are two very closely related systems. The circulatory is composed out of blood vessels, the
heart, and blood. The immune system is made up of white blood cells and various lymph nodes.
Basically, most of the immune system is found inside the blood of the circulatory system. The
circulatory system provides the body with blood. It gives the kidneys of the digestive system
something to filter and picks up nutrients from the small intestines. It also picks up air from the lungs
of the respiratory system and provides the brain of the nervous system with blood, along with the rests
of the body. Protection from wounds in the integumentary system is also provided by the circulatory
system which has platelets that aid in blood clotting and forming scabs. The immune system protects
all the other systems from disease and helps them from being attacked by viruses and bacteria. It also
aids the ears of the nervous system with some very protective earwax. The circulatory system provides
us with life fluid while the immune system protects that fluid and the rest of our body. The digestive
and excretory systems help the body with the wonderful task of food. The digestive system is
composed of the stomach, mouth, liver, pancreas, and the large and small intestine. It digests food and

Parody In Ann Radcliffe s Northanger Abbey
In Northanger Abbey, Jane Austen s witty parody of Ann Radcliffe s gothic classic The Mysteries of
Udolpho, offers a euphemism of Gothic romances. A comic study of the ironic discrepancies between
the ordinary world in which Catherine Morland lives in and the fantasy that shapes her imagination,
fed by gothic novels, gives to that world. Austen shows the differences between the heroine s real
situation and the gothic world she fantasizes. Northanger Abbey is an ironic and realistic counterstory
instead of the usual mysterious and dark gothic fiction. In Northanger Abbey, Austen uses parody for
comic effect. She references elements from Gothic romances, but rather than using elements to

Austen uses Catherine s ordinariness as a way to celebrate implicitly the ordinary heroism of all
women. Austen uses a distinct type of irony in her creation of Northanger Abbey s heroine. Catherine
is someone who rejects the constricting standards of previous depictions of female heroism and
instead embraces a tomboyish persona, allowing her to challenge the gendered standards of heroism as
they were portrayed within literature (Niebuhr 150). She understands that people can be both good and
bad because real life is never as black and white as it is in the novels she reads. In her mind, she is a
Gothic heroine or at least, she is in training to become one. In the novel, Austen wrote, from fifteen to
seventeen she was training for a heroine, she read all such works as heroines must read to supply their
memories with those quotations which are so serviceable and so soothing in the vicissitudes of their
eventful lives (Austen 20). Catherine pictured herself in a Gothic novel, believing she is going to
become a hero and help solve everyone s problems. She sees things that aren t there. She over
analyzes a situation because she wants the mystery, the rush and the adrenaline it gave her believing

Persuasive Essay On Weightlifting Vs Powerlifting
Anthony Scionti
Powerlifting Vs. Weightlifting
There are many debates about weather powerlifting or weightlifting is better for athletic training. In
my opinion I think that in order to reach max performance you must use both powerlifting and
weightlifting. Powerlifting has a bigger risk because you use more weight but it is risky either way.
Weightlifting helps prevent injury and is used in almost every sport.
The most important aspect of training is absolute strength because it controls all strength gains. We
can assume that the most important aspect of athletic development should be focused on the training
of absolute strength, which is rooted with powerlifting. Powerlifting methods make the training of
absolute strength a priority.
The better approach in the training of athletes is a mix of both powerlifting and weightlifting in my
opinion. Like I said earlier powerlifting has a bigger risk. But weightlifting helps to prevent injury.
You need to have absolute strength foundation before any explosive strength development can occur.

Essay On Life Without Parole
The official definition of capital punishment is the legally authorized killing of someone as
punishment for a crime (merriam webster.com). In what atrocious world would killing someone be
legal? Even if they committed a crime of ruthless nature, what will they learn from being killed right
away. These people need time to deem themselves unfit for the world. They need to learn from the
actions they have chosen to take, and the only way this is possible is life without parole. Life without
parole or LWOP is not only less expensive, but more effective than the death penalty. Life without
parole is the swiftest and easiest way to punish someone who deserves it. It is a certain sentence. The

instances of these high costs is California. Every year it costs California 180 million dollars more to

Summary Statistics On The Reading Of Succeed Initiative
Summary Statistics on the We Read to Succeed Initiative
After having fixed the issues previously listed, I ran summary statistics to better understand the
population of mentees served by the Enhanced School Based Mentoring Program. Generally speaking,
the mentees were representative of a diverse group of school age students.
Demographics. In this program analysis, there were a total number of 62 mentees. Of the 62 mentees,
as seen in the figure 1, more than half (60%) were of Hispanic descent. Similarly, 18% of mentees
were White, while the remaining 28% were either African American or grouped into a category of
other.
In addition, we observed the age group of the mentees, because the community wide initiative seeks to
improve the third grade reading proficiency of those enrolled in the program. As seen in figure 2, there
were a majority (35%) of 6 year olds represented. There were also a substantial (32%) number of 7
year olds. Furthermore, there was a comparative population of males and females. (Figure 3)
When analyzing the indicators of family make up, the general information provided showed that the
mentees could be categorized as at risk populations. As seen in the figure 4, when looking at the
educational attainment of the mother and father, majority of them had a high school diploma or less.
More specifically, more than a quarter (85%) of the mother s had not achieved an education pass

Paul was the writer and he was writing the church of Corinth back to clarify certain points from his

Paul had given the church (Berding, 2004). Berding also states that it is possible that a man named

The spiritual receptivity of the Corinth church would be at a high level of acceptance. I believe this
because they are the ones who wrote Paul the letter on questions and as a growing church I feel they

Models Of Health And The Biopsychosocial Model Of Health
Models of Health The World Heath Organization defines health as being a state of wholeness in a
person s mental, physical, and social well being (Gurung, 2014). Different models of health are used
worldwide to assist in achieving this state. Two widely used models of health in the United States
include the biomedical model of health and the biopsychosocial model of health. They both strive to
help individuals and communities achieve wholeness, while approaching this in different manners.
Each model of health has strengths, drawbacks, and practical uses in the field of medicine. The
biomedical model of health takes into account the physical or biological quality of life and is widely
used in the Western medicine approach to health (Gurung, 2104). A basic assumption of this model is
that the mind and body connection is irrelevant. Many advances in medicine have occured because of
the biomedical model of health. In using evidence based medicine it has been possible to evaluate the
results of clinical and pharmaceutical research in order to make strides in medicine (Ashton, 1999). It
takes advantage of algorithmic treatment options. Even though this approach may be more difficult for
a psychiatrist to utilize when diagnosing and treating a patient, this model has radically shaped
psychotherapy research and psychiatric medication (Deacon, 2013). The biomedical approach lends
itself more readily to research because of its quantitative nature and it is less subjective than the
biopsychosocial approach when measuring emotions and culture. The biopsychosocial model of health
is a multidimensional approach to health (Lecture 1, 2014). It focuses not only on the biology or
physiology of a person, but also includes the psychology of a person and the manner in which society
and culture influence health as well (Gurung, 2014). It was developed in the 21st century as an
important theoretical framework to approaching health and medicine (Richtig, Trapp, Kapfhamer,
Jenull, Richtig Trapp, 2016).This approach makes the assumption that the mind and body connection
is not only relevant but also vital to a person s entire well being. It takes a holistic approach when
treating an individual and can improve health in the

Oh What A Slaughter Summary
Kevin Glenn Dr. Brooks Flippen History 1523 6 November 2015 McMurtry, Larry. Oh What a
Slaughter: Massacres in the American West: 1846 1890. New York, NY: Simon Schuster, 2005. Oh
What A Slaughter Book Review On Earth, there are different peoples who have been coexisting
together for years take for example some of the Native American tribes. The settlement of people in
the world is such that different people who come from one tribe tend to settle in a given region where
they live together peacefully and carry on with their daily day to day activities to improve their
livelihoods. However, people from different parts of the world develop some differences between
them that result in conflicts among them in some instances. Conflicts can be ... Show more content on

As previously mentioned, McMurtry does not really take a side in any of the massacres. In each
account the reader is presented with historically accurate information of what went down, although he
does sometimes slip a stray opinion in; however, this is to be expected in a book where the author is
focusing on the cruelty of humans towards each other. McMurtry explains that it was not just a one
sided battle with Settlers attacking the Native Americans; both groups had their share of bouts against
each other, and they both constantly tried to preemptively strike. It is made evident through some of
the author s comments that although a lot of the Native Americans were able to get along peacefully
together for years and that the majority of tribes were peaceful (with the exception of a few, of
course), the white man invading their sacred land, destroying everything in their path, and raping and
killing their women and children was an infuriating blow to nearly every tribe on the land; I think this
would set just about anyone off. In addition, none of the group is ready to appreciate the other one, or
even consider a truce; instead, they focus more on what will only bring chaos among

Human Trafficking And Human Rights Violations
Human trafficking is one of today s egregious human rights violations. Traffickers focus on the most
vulnerable members of society, preying mostly on women, and children, yet men are also trafficked in
high numbers. Trafficking of a person refers to the, illegal trade of a human being for sexual
exploitation or forced labor through abduction, force, threat, or fraud (UNOC 2015). Human
trafficking can come in many forms such as, sex exploitation, forced labour, as well as forced donor
ship. The truth about human trafficking is very much misunderstood in today s culture. Many victims
of human trafficking consent to leaving their home country to enter into a world filled with hope and
promise, only to find themselves in equally bad, if not worse living conditions. Human trafficking has
been increasing in countries all over the globe especially Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand.
There is a misunderstanding that this global issue only happens in third world countries, but civilized
countries are involved as well. In the United States over the past several years, human trafficking has
become a rapidly growing problem specifically in three cities in California: Los Angeles, San Diego,
and San Fransisco.
Sex Exploitation: Thailand Thailand is one of the major destinations, and transit countries for
trafficking in women and children for the purpose of sexual exploitation. The issue of sex exploitation
is partially the fault of geography. By land Thailand borders several

Ripalet Cigarette Essay
Tipalet Cigarette: Sexist or Not? Everyone has their own excuse for why they start smoking and why
they don t want to quit. Many of the excuses can be treated without smoking. The goal of the Tipalet
cigarette pack ad is to encourage men to experience smoking, however, The ad also sends another
message that impacts both sexes differently. To men, they re selling women and coolness. For women,
they re selling a stereotype, that she s submissive and used as a sex object. However, not all women if
any, like men who smoke especially one who blows it in their face. As for her being used as a sex
object, the ad says A puff in her direction, and she ll follow you anywhere means that the women are
mesmerized by him and will most likely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They used a bright yellow/golden background to make the couple and the cigarette smoke stand out.
They used that color to help viewers see what type of relationship they could have if only they went
out to buy a pack of Tipalet Cigarettes. The couple stands out because they re wearing white and
black, or your everyday type outfits to help them stand out and because the ad is zoomed in on their
upper body faces. The color of the background can also seem inviting and warm because it reminds
you of a sunset and helps people create a perfect fantasy . The way she s looking at him makes you
want to picture that perfect guy on a perfect date with the sun setting in the background. People seem
to be pulled into the ad by the warm colors that make you feel more comfortable. The ad is warm,
beautiful and full of happiness, so the people who look at the ad will feel like they will have a chance
to a warm and beautiful life that will resemble the advertisement. Ethos is shown in this ad by it
showing us that the male character is dominant by blowing the cigarette smoke in her face. It shows
men that if they start smoking these then you ll get the girl. It also shows pathos by the romance we
see between the characters in the ad.

Politics and The English Language in George Orwell´s...
In Politics and the English Language , Orwell illustrates the misuse of the English language in society.
Orwell believes that language can be used to both actively and passively oppress a society. Orwell has
five rules that connect to Animal Farm and Anthem. His rules are the following; never use a metaphor,
simile, or other figure of speech which you are used to seeing in print, Never use a long word where a
short one will do, if it is possible to cut a word out, always cut it out, never use the passive where you
can use the active, never use a foreign phrase, a scientific word, or a jargon word if you can think of
an everyday English equivalent.
In Animal Farm, the pigs make up the 7 commandments that all of the animals in the ... Show more

In Anthem written by Ayn Rand, the government manipulates the rules of their citizens and also the
government tells the citizens how to act and talk. Citizens are mortified to step one foot out of their
own house There is fear hanging in the air of the sleeping halls, and the air of the streets. Fear walks
through the city, fear without name, without shape. All men feel it and none dare speak. George
Orwell s essay connects to this because it is unvarying and can be cut into simpler terms. Instead of
repeating the word fear, the author can say fear walks through the city without name, and without
shape. It is a sin to write this. It is a sin to think words no others think and to put them down upon a
paper no others are to see. It is base and evil. It is as if we were speaking alone to no ears but our own.
And we know well that there is no transgression blacker than to do or think alone. (Rand 1) When
Equality wrote this, the government obviously did not want him to because it was a sin. Equality s
letter reflects to George Orwell s writing because there are phrases that can be translated into every
day English equivalent.
In Anthem, the author, Ayn Rand, uses words just for the sake of writing. For example, Know what
you want in life and go after it. I worship individuals for their

Berry Gordy Research Paper
Previously working in the automotive industry, Berry Gordy explored the idea of creating a music
record company that would incorporate the automobile assembly line process that would later open
the doors of opportunity for african americans everywhere even to these contemporary times. This
company was called Motown Records; obtaining this goal proved to have some obstacles due to the
encounter of racial tensions that affected every man, woman, and child. Fortunately, a determined will,
aquired from his boxing days, pushed Gordy to continue striving to exchange his love music with
anyone that would listen.
A Foundation was Built Born in Detroit on November 28, 1929 during the incline of the great
depression, Berry Gordy was the 7th of eight children. His father, ... Show more content on

I wanted the same concept for my company, only with artist and songs, and records. I wanted a place
where a kid off the street could walk in one door an unknown and come out another a recording artist
a star An epitome of this dream of Berry Gordy would be the well known all male singing group The
Temptations. The lead of this group was the Otis Williams, and he recorded experiences at Motown
Records. First the Temptations had to audition at Motown and impress Berry Gordy. Either Gordy
loved the artist or he didn t and he has been respected for his good ear for talent. Once signed the
Temptations had to go through rigorous training. They had: vocal coaching with Maurice King,
musical sessions with the house band The Funk Brothers , and dance lessons with Cholly Atkins.
Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson would write the Temptations songs, but Singer Marvin Gaye,
famous recording artist with Motown, succession of successes was tribute to Berry Gordy s strategy of
switching writers and producers to suit an artist s aims and

Importance Of Model Risk
Model risk is one that results from using models which are insufficient in being able to guess the right
risk for the system. It is the risk of loss that props up from the fact when we make an incorrect
decision in the direction of approximation of risk. Also it is prevalent in more activities other than
financial securities validation etc. There are various kinds of model risks that can arise from using a
model which are: the wrong model which includes inapplicability of the model, incorrect model
specifications. Apart from that model implementation can also sometimes cause an error which is
programming related, or may be technical errors or even using inaccurate numerical approximations.
Also the usage of the model can bring about errors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore the first thing is to gain knowledge about the system and the functionalities that it is doing.
Once we have that then we need to analyse those areas of the production that might lead to a gap.
These gaps can be regarding timelines or also those timelines turning to financial risks.
Also these risks can lead to other risks in areas such as human resources, training and development
and accounting and financing also. Therefore any affected risk can infect other areas of the
organization and can cause an upheaval totally.
The very first thing that needs to be done in such a case is to make sure that we have complete
knowledge of the areas that are affected and how we can fix them. It is only when we have a complete
knowledge of the model that we shall be able to ascertain and then know the gaps that can later turn
into risks for the system. So the first task is to know the overall knowledge which can be gathered
form the research team and the knowledge and product owners. From this team we can gain a proper
knowledge as to how things are planned and the perspective of the things going on in the organisation.
Then comes the environment and release management teams that shall help me know with the exact
knowledge of the timelines (Rebonato, R., 2011).
So the very first course of action will be to sit with the stakeholders and decide the total changes that

  • 2. Impact Of Hilton Hotel Introduction Tourism is one of the most international industries. Globalisation is the gradual forging of links between groups and societies until they finally reach around the globe in several directions (Smith, D,2006). Globalization is one of the serious challenges facing managers today. It is critical to develop services that are able to satisfy a highly diverse customer base (Ueltschy et al., 2007) Now to keep up with the rising levels of globalization in the hotel industry, there s a need to understand not only the positive, but also the negative impacts of globalisation. I ll also talk about the growth and rise of one of the most respected brands in the hospitality industry the Hilton Hotels. Throughout the evolution of this famous organization, the Hilton has ... Brand name and brand image are essentially two factors that differentiate companies which operate in the same industry and market. Therefore, the brand name must be unique. Hotel companies like the Hilton have established strong national brands and seek to use them globally with an intention of increasing profits. Once its established as a global brand, the company has successfully created an international image that can lead to increased efficiency through branded marketing efforts and cost savings on a much larger scale. Nowadays with an increase in international travel, the competition among international hotel corporations is becoming a lot more competetive. Those tourists that travel to foreign countries tend to stay in one of the known hotel brands and their standardised quality of service. • 3. Angiogenic Pathogenesis The progression from fibrosis to cirrhosis, the end point of CLDs, is distinguished by a prolonged inflammatory and fibrogenic process that leads to an abnormal angioarchitecture distinctive for cirrhosis. Several mechanisms are responsible for the angiogenic switch during the pathogenesis of CLDs. First, CLDs are characterised by chronic inflammation. Increased intrahepatic vascular resistance is primarily caused by anatomical changes, such as fibrotic scar tissue compressing portal and central venules. In addition, the formation of fibrotic septa, as well as sinusoidal capillarisation, can result in an increased resistance to blood flow and oxygen delivery. This results in hypoxia and the transcription of hypoxia sensitive pro angiogenic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The characteristic fenestrated phenotype of the sinusoidal ECs is lost and an organised basement membrane is established, which leads to an impairment of oxygen diffusion even though the increased arterial flow provides a high supply of oxygenated blood . The deposition of collagen in the space of Disse accentuates the narrowing and distortion of the sinusoidal lumen, further restricting microvascular blood flow. This is aggravated by leucocytes, either mechanically trapped in the narrowed sinusoids or adhering to the endothelium, as a result of activation of a hepatic microvascular inflammatory response. The hypoxic liver tissue causes an up regulation of VEGF, Ang and their receptors in HSCs, not only enhancing the hypoxia induced angiogenesis but also stimulating activation and migration of HSC. As stated previously, activated HSCs induce an inflammatory response and enhance angiogenesis. New vessels themselves can significantly contribute to the perpetuation of the inflammatory response by expressing chemokines and adhesion molecules promoting the recruitment of inflammatory cells. Furthermore, angiogenesis, early in the course of a CLD, may contribute to the transition from acute to chronic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Pros And Cons Of Keeping The Driving Age How many people die every year from car accidents? How many of those people qualify as careless teenagers? Nearly 1.3 million people die each year in car accidents, which is on average 3,287 deaths per day. Young drivers between the ages of fifteen and twenty account for sixty percent of these accidents. For almost a century, the age for teenagers to be allowed to drive on public roads without supervision has been sixteen, resulting in a higher death rate due to the carelessness of young drivers in the United States. For example, as stated by the Free Personal Injury Help Center, one in every three teens says they text or email while driving: the number one cause of deaths among all drivers. Teenagers are more likely to speed than older drivers because people have less developed brains at the ages of 16 or 17 than at 21 or 22. As a result, one in four teenagers are aggressive drivers and almost twenty percent of teenagers admit that they enjoy speeding, as stated in the New York Times. Drunk driving is a recent problem even among adults. Although drinking and driving is illegal, and drinking under the age of twenty one is illegal, twenty five percent of all fatal car crashes caused by teens involve an underage drunk driver. Teenagers also have the lowest rate of seat belt use, and seat belts are the most effective way of reducing accidents. In addition, texting while driving is the number one cause of car accidents among teenagers due to the development of social media. This causes teens to drive while looking down at their phones, which can eventually put them in the hospital. Therefore, raising the driving age to 21 will prevent teens from dying due to car accidents the number one cause of teen deaths in 2013, according to the CDC Injury ... Nevertheless free markets do not always reach optimal output levels due to external market forces such as demographic factors or technological changes. The fact that a free market does not reaches optimal output is called market failure and leads to welfare loss (also called deadweight loss). In order to avoid market failure, government intervention, such as subsidies, is needed. Before start pursuing my master degree in the US, I was a kindergarten teacher. During my practice in a public school kindergarten classroom, I had a very bright student who immediately picked up cues that I gave about the activity of the day. While I was evaluating her, I attributed her success to her family environment. Compared to her classmates, she had very attentive parents. Moreover, she was the last child of the family and her older two siblings were academically successful role models for her. Most importantly, she also attended preschool before she started kindergarten; therefore, her performance was higher compared to classmates who did not have these same experiences. The opt out policy would allow you to donate your organs regardless of your family members saying no when approached upon your death. An opt out policy is not the only thing that we can do to help increase the number of available organs. In many enterprises, the data required for making business decisions is created by wide ranging applications, perhaps from separate lines of business (Theme 1). BI systems today have the capacity to work with numerous types of data such as numerical or non numerical data. The quality of this data is as important as any other data. The difference in the level of data quality is one of the many factors that may explain why some organizations are successful with their BI initiative while some are not so successful (Isik, O., Jones, M.C., Sidoroya, A. 2011). An Option Counselor is a person that is called once someone is transitioning from the nursing home and they are asking for more information on their options for housing and services outside of the nursing home. I also went to a Senior Delta Luncheon (3/29) with Ms. Averret (supervisor). At the luncheon Ms. Averret spoke to the seniors about the services that the agency offers and also gave out flyers to upcoming events. • 20. Importance Of Drinking Water Essay Rural India has more than 700 million people residing in about 1.42 million habitations spread over 15 diverse ecological regions. Meeting the drinking water needs of such a large population can be a daunting task. The non uniformity in level of awareness, socio economic development, education, poverty, practices and rituals and water availability add to the complexity of the task. Despite an estimated total of Rs. 1,105 billion spent on providing safe drinking water since the First Five Year Plan was launched in 1951, lack of safe and clean drinking water continues to be a major obstacle and a national economic burden. Around 37.7 million Indians are affected by waterborne diseases annually; 1.5 million children are estimated to die of diarrhoea alone in each year. In our constitution the provision of safe drinking water has been given utmost priority, with Article 47 conferring the duty of providing clean drinking water and improving public health standards to the State. The government has undertaken various programmes and policies since independence to provide safe drinking water to the rural population. Till the 10th plan, an estimated total of Rs.1,105 billion spent on providing secure drinking water. To illustrate the process of decomposition, we use the piglets as the model corpse. We had piglets that were in all dissimilar states to watch each decompose differently. In this essay, I will explain to you the exploit I had while examining the decomposition of piglets. It is safe to say that we all are at curiosity to which piglets decomposes the quickest. When maggots become part of the picture, they feed off of the decaying flesh. The succession of insects on a suspended piglet and piglet on the ground and cement are engrossing. From the moment of death flies are attracted to bodies. Without the normal defenses of a living animal, blowflies and house flies are able to lay eggs around wounds and natural body openings. These eggs hatch and move into the body. Wasps begin to get attracted to the decomposing piglet in the air and they lay their eggs inside maggots. Animals can feed on hair like moths. The outcome of a decomposing piglet on the soil underneath changes. The moisture, temperature and the nature of soil are key factors in the rate of decay. While the piglet is decomposing on the soil, the grass beneath begins to die. It gets moisture of the decomposing piglet but it has no sunlight to grow. The grass then begins to grow around the piglet. When you look at a rock that has been misplaced in your yard, you will see grass beginning to form around it and over top of it. After handling those issues, only then will the company is ready to proceed with the next step. Euro Disney has learned many lessons, the foremost being that the countries reception of a company can positively or negatively affect the sales of said company. This is evidenced by the extremely negative reviews and harsh French criticism received by Euro Disney and the company not meeting expectations. With commission programs it is important that performance is accurately tracked, payouts occur timely, and all information is clearly communicated (Stein, 2011) Through the use of Salesforce.com, one can acquire the necessary data to utilize simple financial modeling to forecast the likely outcomes of varying commission plan designs. When a goal is set for a month, based on the previous years data there are two to three months each year where the number of working weeks or consignment sale days is off track from the previous year. When this occurs it becomes virtually impossible for a sales rep to achieve their monthly goal in the shorter months. Employees often use those months to purposely perform below average to increase their commission payouts in the following months. In turn, this can negatively impact corporate budgets. • 26. The Theme Of Education In The Lesson By Toni Bambara In regard to the topic of privilege, the short story The Lesson by Toni Bambara stresses that education is a means to overcome poverty. This thematic statement is furthered constantly in the text by literary elements such as setting, characterization and point of view. First, is the characterization of Miss Moore. Throughout the story, Miss Moore demonstrates an interesting comparison to the children. In many ways, she provides a contrast to them, which is shown immediately in her introduction, ...this lady moved on our block with nappy hair, and proper speech, and no makeup. And quite naturally, we laughed at her... Miss Moore was her name. The only woman on the block with no first name . Furthermore, Miss Moore s obvious dedication and value for education is somewhat unaligned with the children s own views about education. Nonetheless, she aims to use the children s disadvantaged lives in order to prove to them the value of education, which remains a central theme throughout the story. However, she is able to accomplish this because of a few key commonalities between herself and the children. They do, after all live in the same neighborhood, and, more poignantly, both face challenges associated with being black in America. This point brings us to the next major literary element of the story: setting. Published in 1972, it can be inferred that The Lesson takes place in this same era. • 38. Essay On Corinthians 14 In Corinthians 14 we read about aspects of the gifts of the spirit from speaking in tongues, prophecy, worship, and what the women s position is in the church. This was written to the church of Corinth. The situation of the Corinth church was they were a new and upcoming church in the town of Corinth. Paul was the writer and he was writing the church of Corinth back to clarify certain points from his pervious letter, correct certain things the church had misunderstood, and reply to a previous letter that Paul had given the church (Berding, 2004). Berding also states that it is possible that a man named Sosthenes was with Paul when this letter was written. The spiritual receptivity of the Corinth church would be at a high level of acceptance. I believe this because they are the ones who wrote Paul the letter on questions and as a growing church I feel they want to please God. Paul is giving correction and clarifying things that the church has misunderstood or has begun to misuse such as the spiritual gifts, Speaking in tongues and prophecy in this letter. Also, another point that I feel is a reason the church would listen is because they are living in a sophist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One example in this chapter of Corinthians that needs clarifying can be found in 1 Corinthians 14:34 35 which states women should be silent in the church. In a commentary written by Donald A. Carson on bible.org he states along the lines that women were at the time allowed to join in these spiritual gifts and teachings but did not have authority over men. Another idea is that at this time woman were to submit to men because of status so Paul is only enforcing that women not to take authority into their hands because of how the customs were at this time in the ... • 39. Models Of Health And The Biopsychosocial Model Of Health Models of Health The World Heath Organization defines health as being a state of wholeness in a person s mental, physical, and social well being (Gurung, 2014). Different models of health are used worldwide to assist in achieving this state. Two widely used models of health in the United States include the biomedical model of health and the biopsychosocial model of health. They both strive to help individuals and communities achieve wholeness, while approaching this in different manners. Each model of health has strengths, drawbacks, and practical uses in the field of medicine. The biomedical model of health takes into account the physical or biological quality of life and is widely used in the Western medicine approach to health (Gurung, 2104). A basic assumption of this model is that the mind and body connection is irrelevant. Many advances in medicine have occured because of the biomedical model of health. In using evidence based medicine it has been possible to evaluate the results of clinical and pharmaceutical research in order to make strides in medicine (Ashton, 1999). It takes advantage of algorithmic treatment options. Even though this approach may be more difficult for a psychiatrist to utilize when diagnosing and treating a patient, this model has radically shaped psychotherapy research and psychiatric medication (Deacon, 2013). The biomedical approach lends itself more readily to research because of its quantitative nature and it is less subjective than the biopsychosocial approach when measuring emotions and culture. The biopsychosocial model of health is a multidimensional approach to health (Lecture 1, 2014). It focuses not only on the biology or physiology of a person, but also includes the psychology of a person and the manner in which society and culture influence health as well (Gurung, 2014). It was developed in the 21st century as an important theoretical framework to approaching health and medicine (Richtig, Trapp, Kapfhamer, Jenull, Richtig Trapp, 2016).This approach makes the assumption that the mind and body connection is not only relevant but also vital to a person s entire well being. It takes a holistic approach when treating an individual and can improve health in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

New York, NY: Simon Schuster, 2005. Oh What A Slaughter Book Review On Earth, there are different peoples who have been coexisting together for years take for example some of the Native American tribes. The settlement of people in the world is such that different people who come from one tribe tend to settle in a given region where they live together peacefully and carry on with their daily day to day activities to improve their livelihoods. However, people from different parts of the world develop some differences between them that result in conflicts among them in some instances. Conflicts can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As previously mentioned, McMurtry does not really take a side in any of the massacres. In each account the reader is presented with historically accurate information of what went down, although he does sometimes slip a stray opinion in; however, this is to be expected in a book where the author is focusing on the cruelty of humans towards each other. McMurtry explains that it was not just a one sided battle with Settlers attacking the Native Americans; both groups had their share of bouts against each other, and they both constantly tried to preemptively strike. It is made evident through some of the author s comments that although a lot of the Native Americans were able to get along peacefully together for years and that the majority of tribes were peaceful (with the exception of a few, of course), the white man invading their sacred land, destroying everything in their path, and raping and killing their women and children was an infuriating blow to nearly every tribe on the land; I think this would set just about anyone off. In addition, none of the group is ready to appreciate the other one, or even consider a truce; instead, they focus more on what will only bring chaos among ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Human Trafficking And Human Rights Violations Human trafficking is one of today s egregious human rights violations. Traffickers focus on the most vulnerable members of society, preying mostly on women, and children, yet men are also trafficked in high numbers. Trafficking of a person refers to the, illegal trade of a human being for sexual exploitation or forced labor through abduction, force, threat, or fraud (UNOC 2015). Human trafficking can come in many forms such as, sex exploitation, forced labour, as well as forced donor ship. The truth about human trafficking is very much misunderstood in today s culture. Many victims of human trafficking consent to leaving their home country to enter into a world filled with hope and promise, only to find themselves in equally bad, if not worse living conditions. Human trafficking has been increasing in countries all over the globe especially Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand. There is a misunderstanding that this global issue only happens in third world countries, but civilized countries are involved as well. In the United States over the past several years, human trafficking has become a rapidly growing problem specifically in three cities in California: Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Fransisco. Sex Exploitation: Thailand Thailand is one of the major destinations, and transit countries for trafficking in women and children for the purpose of sexual exploitation. The issue of sex exploitation is partially the fault of geography. By land Thailand borders several ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Politics and The English Language in George Orwell´s... In Politics and the English Language , Orwell illustrates the misuse of the English language in society. Orwell believes that language can be used to both actively and passively oppress a society. Orwell has five rules that connect to Animal Farm and Anthem. His rules are the following; never use a metaphor, simile, or other figure of speech which you are used to seeing in print, Never use a long word where a short one will do, if it is possible to cut a word out, always cut it out, never use the passive where you can use the active, never use a foreign phrase, a scientific word, or a jargon word if you can think of an everyday English equivalent. In Anthem written by Ayn Rand, the government manipulates the rules of their citizens and also the government tells the citizens how to act and talk. Citizens are mortified to step one foot out of their own house There is fear hanging in the air of the sleeping halls, and the air of the streets. Fear walks through the city, fear without name, without shape. All men feel it and none dare speak. George Orwell s essay connects to this because it is unvarying and can be cut into simpler terms. Instead of repeating the word fear, the author can say fear walks through the city without name, and without shape. It is a sin to write this. It is a sin to think words no others think and to put them down upon a paper no others are to see. It is base and evil. It is as if we were speaking alone to no ears but our own. And we know well that there is no transgression blacker than to do or think alone. (Rand 1) When Equality wrote this, the government obviously did not want him to because it was a sin. Equality s letter reflects to George Orwell s writing because there are phrases that can be translated into every day English equivalent. In Anthem, the author, Ayn Rand, uses words just for the sake of writing. For example, Know what you want in life and go after it. I worship individuals for their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Importance Of Model Risk Model risk is one that results from using models which are insufficient in being able to guess the right risk for the system. It is the risk of loss that props up from the fact when we make an incorrect decision in the direction of approximation of risk. Also it is prevalent in more activities other than financial securities validation etc. There are various kinds of model risks that can arise from using a model which are: the wrong model which includes inapplicability of the model, incorrect model specifications. Apart from that model implementation can also sometimes cause an error which is programming related, or may be technical errors or even using inaccurate numerical approximations. Also these risks can lead to other risks in areas such as human resources, training and development and accounting and financing also. Therefore any affected risk can infect other areas of the organization and can cause an upheaval totally. The very first thing that needs to be done in such a case is to make sure that we have complete knowledge of the areas that are affected and how we can fix them. It is only when we have a complete knowledge of the model that we shall be able to ascertain and then know the gaps that can later turn into risks for the system. So the first task is to know the overall knowledge which can be gathered form the research team and the knowledge and product owners. From this team we can gain a proper knowledge as to how things are planned and the perspective of the things going on in the organisation. Then comes the environment and release management teams that shall help me know with the exact knowledge of the timelines (Rebonato, R., 2011). So the very first course of action will be to sit with the stakeholders and decide the total changes that are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
