Speech On Importance Of Cosmetics
Importance of cosmetics
Cosmetics have been in use since ages for reconstructing the appearance of the person wearing them.
Beauty cosmetics can build a drastic change in a person s features, as they improve the best features
and cover the blemishes. People use creams and lotions to cleanse the skin deeply. This is not possible
with water and regular soap . Deep cleansing removes other underlying pollutants and opens the skin
pores . Blocked pores lead to the formation of acne and beauty cosmetics prevent this from occurring.
At the same time, we cannot remove some blemishes so easily. Dark spots and Blemishes are very
common on most people s skin. The use of makeup, such as a better concealer can effectively cover up
the flaw. This results in a skin, which looks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the ingredients are listed on the product label and comply with any limit that are established for

. Colour additives are subject to more regulatory analysis in the US than they are in
Europe. In USA, the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) expert panel conducts independent
Safety scrutiny of ingredients as a part of the cosmetics safety process, with the results published on
the CIR website and in the International Journal of Toxicology. The EU Scientific Committee on
Consumer safety is responsible for reviewing all active and special ingredients and assessing
conditions for safe use. The results are subsequently published in the Committee s website [4].
USA and Europe are the largest markets in the world for cosmetic products. In the end user segments,
decorative cosmetics (that modify the appearance of the area to which they are enforced, usually by
the use of colour, examples are: eye shadow, lipstick, blusher, eye pencil, liquid foundation, nail polish
, powder, mascara etc.) have the highest average annual growth

Dengue Fever, a tropical arbovirus infection (viruses transmitted by arthropods to humans), is an
emerging viral disease infecting approximately 100 million individuals globally (52% at risk) per year
living in dengue risk areas, primarily tropical urban areas and subtropical ones.1 Most cases are
commonly distributed and reported among humans in India, South East Asia, South and Central
America, Africa, and the Caribbean. It has plagued such regions for centuries and turned into a crucial
public health concern in need of stringent control measures. However, considering the probable fact
that no other nation in the globe

Britain Of The European Union
The issue of Britain remaining in the European Union, and the consequences of a potential British exit
sometimes shortened to Brexit from the European Union, have come to the forefront of public debate.
While some say that Britain s egress from the EU would benefit it economically, others argue that the
contrary is true, and that there would be detrimental economic consequences for Britain and Europe.
In truth, the issue is much more complex and multifaceted. Brexit must be looked at in terms of its
socioeconomic consequences on immigration, the job market, and trade; and also its political effects
on British sovereignty. It has been claimed through the last coalition government, and the Labour
government before that, that 3 3.5 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some studies have tried to assess the impact of EU regulations affecting businesses the EU being able
to pass legislation on matters such as product specifications, competition, employment terms, health
and safety, and consumer protection using Impact Assessments (IAs). Looking at a smaller number of
regulations but with the largest associated costs, the British Chamber of Commerce estimated the costs
of regulations annually to be £7.6 billion and the cost since 1998 being about £60.8 billion. Both
studies reached a consensus that the Working Time Directive, the Pollution Directive, the Data
Protection Directive and the Directive on the Sale of Consumer Goods were the most expensive
regulations. But both Open Europe and the British Chamber of Commerce came to the conclusion that
the benefit cost ratio of EU regulation was 1.02, while the benefit cost ratio of regulations imposed by
the UK government was 2.35.
Countries that are in the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries that are not in the
European Union but do have access to the Single Market must abide by EU economic regulations.
Joining the EFTA has provided an option for Britain to leave the EU but remain the Single Market.
However, this leaves Britain in a quandary: do they accept the EU s regulations or risk being forced
out of the Single Market? A complete withdrawal would also mean that at least in the short term,
Britain would have to retain some of the EU regulations

Evaluation Of A Health Community Mental Health Center
Evaluation Assessment
Eskenazi Health offers various nationally recognized programs and services. Overall, Eskenazi Health
has a mission to advocate, care, teach, and serve community members. The specific agency I have
chosen to research is Eskenazi Midtown Community Mental Health. There is an emphasis on
vulnerable populations, and financial measures do not disqualify care. Located locally in Indianapolis,
Eskenazi Health Midtown Community Mental Health Center provides comprehensive inpatient and
outpatient services for all types of emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness
and substance abuse. The services are designed to provide the utmost, high quality care and
confidentiality to patients who choose to take part in the services. Outpatient detoxification and
counseling is offered to participants. Welcoming people of all ages, the mission of Eskenazi Health
Midtown Community Mental Health Center is to directly serve the patient suffering with serious
mental illness and chronic addiction, as well as their families.
If an evaluation of this program were to be performed, it would be requested by administration.
Administration in this agency includes, but is not limited to the president and vice president of the
agency, an executive program director and his/her assistant, and a small panel of developmental board
members. Staff members at Eskenazi Health would find the feedback from the evaluation beneficial,
as they can use it to better the care and

Loneliness Isolation in of Mice and Men
An idea I found interesting in the novel Of Mice And Men, by John Steinbeck was loneliness and
isolation. I found this idea interesting because it helped me understand how important it is to be
surrounded by people. George and Lennie s friendship contrasts this idea as they are friends and they
have each other, whereas most of the other ranch workers travel alone. The idea of loneliness was
strongly conveyed through the characters Crooks and Curley s wife, they are both key examples of
lonely and segregated characters. The location of the ranch also represents the idea of isolation as the
Spanish translation of the town s name Soledad means loneliness. Crooks is perhaps the most
segregated character in the novel and therefore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By having no name, she seems to be even more friendless, and I think this is interesting because to get
to know someone and try to make friends with them, a name is a good place to start. She regularly
enters the bunkhouse, apparently looking for Curley, but as the novel progresses, we become aware
that she is actually pretending to look for Curley just so she can talk to someone I get awful lonely,
conveys this realization. The men at the ranch become aware of her loneliness when she reveals to
them that she is alone Think I don t like to talk to someone ever once in a while? Think I like to stick
in that house alla time? Curley s wife s loneliness leads her to talk to Lennie and let him feel her hair.
Unfortunately for both characters, Lennie does not realise his own strength and accidentally breaks her
neck in anxiety and panic. In this case, I found the idea of loneliness interesting because it made me
think about loneliness and how it can have a negative effect on people. Humans need friendship to
stay connected and part of society and I found this interesting because I feel that I am surrounded by
good spirited spirited people who do have friends and this really contrasts with the situations in the
novel. The idea of loneliness and isolation is shown though the use of contrast George and Lennie
have a friendship which allows them to have support and someone to talk to that gives a damn about
us. This

Questions On Non Financial Firms
1. Introduction
The 2007 2008 crisis started off in August 2007 as a subprime mortgage crisis primarily concentrated
in the United States but quickly metamorphosized into a global financial crisis where financial
institutions teeter on the edge of bankruptcy in many countries in addition to the United States. A
global economic crisis ensues in which nonfinancial firms around the world appear to spiral
downward as well. A key potential contributor to the plight of the non financial firms is the financial
crisis itself, in the form of a negative shock to the supply of external finance needed by non financial
firms. However, as the two quotes by some leading policymakers and scholars at the beginning of the
paper indicate, the idea that non financial firms suffer from a strongly negative supply of finance
shock is not universally shared. In addition, if non financial firms do not do well, there can certainly
be other causes, such as a contraction of demand for their products.
This paper has three objectives. First, it aims to develop a simple framework that can capture and
quantify the relative importance of the finance shock to the economic health of non financial firms.
Second, in a cross country context, it aims to investigate whether the responsiveness of the real
economy to a given finance shock varies by country features that the literature suggests that could
matter, such as the type of a financial system, the nature of a monetary and exchange rate regime, or
the extent

Lenore By Edgar Allan Poe Analysis
The Power of Conversation
Since birth, Edgar Allan Poe was forced to face faced the harsh realities of life. After his father left the
family and Poe s mother passed away when he was merely three, Poe was forced to move from his
home, Massachusetts, to live with another family in Virginia. Later, Poe gambled to earn enough
money to attend the University of Virginia, but when he returned home he found his fiancee engaged
to marry his neighbor. Poe attended military school, West Point Academy, but was kicked out, and
afterwards married his cousin who died only eleven years later (Biography.com). These traumatic
events shaped Poe as a man and writer, and caused his dark, macabre writing style. In his poem

Poe s poem, Lenore extends further and uniquely focuses on a man s journey to accept the loss of his
betrothed using the tone and organization of the text. The poem is organized as a conversation in four
stanzas between Guy de Vere and the narrator. The first and third stanzas are the spoken words of the
narrator and the second and fourth stanzas are the verbal responses of Guy de Vere. Poe s decision to
compose his poem in this manner provides the reader with a direct look at the raw, bare emotions of
the recently widowed man. These four stanzas allow the reader four opportunities to stand in Guy de
Vere s shoes and to hear what he hears. The reader now can identify with the complex array of
emotions and stages of grief experienced by Guy de Vere. With each stanza in the poem, the tone
changes slightly showing the gradual acceptance of the loss by Guy de Vere. In the second stanza, de
Vere s tone, created by internal sound devices and sentence structure, is hostile, demonstrating the
anger felt. The change in de Vere s tone occurring in the fourth stanza demonstrates a major evolution
in his outlook toward the future. He finally understands that although Lenore is gone, she will be
accepted in Heaven; and his life will continue without her. By talking out his feelings through
conversation, Guy de Vere finally accepts the loss of his bride to be, showing the power that one
conversation can have on someone s life. In Poe s poem, he uses structure and sound devices to show
that after the loss of a loved one, one may attribute the death to others, but with consolation and care
from others, he or she will make peace with the

A missionary can be defined as someone who is sent to...
A missionary can be defined as someone who is sent to spread Christianity throughout the world or do
other religious works. There have been several influential missionaries in modern day America such as
William Carey, George Müller, David Livingstone, Lottie Moon, and Amy Carmichael. These people
have dedicated their lives to reaching out to others and have inspired many people to become
missionaries. Each one of them has impacted the world in a different way. William Carey was an
English Baptist missionary. He was born on 17 August 1761 in Paulerspury, England. As a child he

mine. The man s son, Carey s friend, denied that his father made the comment. In 1789 Carey became
the main pastor of a church in Leicester. A few years later he published an enquiry that had five
different parts. In part one he used scripture in order to convince people that they had a duty as a
Christian to spread the gospel throughout the world. The second part contained the history of
missions. Part three was just statistics in order to show how many people need to be reached. The
fourth part covered the dangers and struggles one might face as a missionary. The fifth part talks about
the need for a Baptist Mission Society and how it could possibly be supported. After this pamphlet

How Did Religion Influence Ancient Greek Civilization
Religion in Ancient Greece took a major role in the development of its civilization. It played a major
role in the daily life of each of its citizens, as religion also heavily influenced the governing system
they had implemented at the time. The extent of their influence can still be witnessed in the present
day, as Athens, the capital of Greece, is named after the Goddess Athena. Ancient Greek religion was
not composed of one god, but instead was composed on a number of different Gods and Goddesses.

A Dinner At Home Is A Great Experience For People
Having dinner at home is supposed to be a great experience for people: being with families, enjoying
hot soup and eating delicious pork. However, in the article The Diner, Bill Trub represents a dinner
experience which is a little weird to readers. The I returns home and has his dinner in a small
restaurant. During the meal, he sees diners who he cannot recognize behave in a strange manner. For
example, a bearded lady yawns. She s eating meatloaf and mash without a knife or fork. Her name is
Rachel, Denise or Chuck. The town is filled with such people with such three uncertain names.
According to a baby grandfather s words, they are all waiting for and welcoming I , whose name is

are numb, lacking the ability of thinking. The fiction is like an exaggerated model of the real world

happens and what it will lead to. Nowadays, money is taking a significant part of people s life. To get

Rhetorical Analysis Of Why Bother By Michael Pollan
In the article Why Bother by Michael Pollan, the author addresses the issue of climate change and
what we as individuals can do. Pollan starts by making the primary assertion that it is up to each

simple act of gardening it will severely help the situation at hand. During the course of Pollan s article
he gives many examples of what he believes we are doing wrong and how we can change. Through
the use of many different rhetorical strategies he is able to support his case very effectively. Pollan
clearly states the situation and purpose of his article, along with minor and major claims to support his
ideas. The situation laid out by Pollan is a very scary premise. He portrays a world that will no longer

Then, I went to the promotion issue. I analyzed the marketing strategy of our company; the northern
market should be one of the most important markets in 2013. Therefore, I need to promote a team

Effectiveness of Sobriety Checkpoints
Special Problems in Criminal Justice
Dr. Stone
December 1, 2010
Abstract A good theoretical basis exists for believing that properly conducted sobriety checkpoints and
campaigns, may reduce drunk driving, and data from multiple checkpoint programs support this
belief. The courts have upheld the constitutionality of checkpoints, opposing those who believe them
to violate the fourth amendment. Each year, more deaths result for alcohol related automobile
accidents than any other cause. Sobriety checkpoints, along with media coverage and cooperation
from multiple groups, are a necessity to reduce the amount of drunk driving in America.
Introduction For many years, the law enforcement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sobriety checkpoint programs are defined as procedures in which law enforcement officers restrict
traffic flow in a designated, specific location so they can check drivers for signs of alcohol
impairment. If officers detect any type of incapacitation based upon their observations, they can
perform additional testing, such as field sobriety or breath analysis tests (Greene, 2003). To this end,
agencies using checkpoints must have a written policy as a directive for their officers to follow.
Agencies normally choose locations for checkpoints from areas that statistically reveal crashes or
offenses (Green, 2003). Officers stop vehicles based on traffic flow, staffing, and overall safety. They
must stop vehicles in an arbitrary sequence, whether they stop all vehicles or a specified portion of
them. Checkpoints offer a visible enforcement method intended to deter potential offenders, as well as
to apprehend impaired drivers. Sobriety checkpoints must display warning signs to approaching

Portrait Of An Elephant Descriptive Essay
On the upper left side of the picture frame, the words Maesa Elephant Camp, Chiangmai Thailand are
written in both English and Thai. Across from the words a small elephant, hand carved from wood,
has been attached to the corner. Its trunk is raised above its head, with the mouth open in a soundless
trumpet. Across the bottom of the picture frame We love elephants has been printed. The frame is
made from a rough, dried paper with bits of grass, and is broken into two colors. The top half is sandy
colored, while the bottom is a light chocolate brown.
In the picture are two white girls. Best friends. One, Australian, is blond with blue eyes. The other,
American, is a brunette with brown eyes. And across their sunburnt faces, a smile reaches from ear to
ear. They sit together in a wooden bench that s laced onto an elephant s back. It s a small elephant. A
female just under 8ft. If you were to stand up, you would just reach the tip of its ear. The elephant s
body is a light grey with splotches of tan on the trunk and ears, creating a bleached look. A Thai man,
one of the elephant guides, sits perched on top of the elephant s neck, his skin contrasting with the rich
cobalt blue shirt he s wearing. Upon his head is a woven reed, safari like, hat, and he grips tightly to a
long bamboo cane. Behind us, a rising hill sits, covered with vegetation so lush, the humidity seems to
radiate off the picture.
I run my fingertips over the rough edges of the frame and smile at the picture of my friend Hannah
and I. It had been photographed in Thailand when our youth conference group had taken a trip down
to an Asian elephant sanctuary camp. And this leads me to a realization. The photographer of the
photo had shot it only moments before I found out where the line between exciting and dangerous
really stood.
The ride down to the elephant camp couldn t have been worse. Eight of us had each been packed into
a songthaew a very small bus like vehicle facing each other. Humid air clung to my body like wet
clothes; the pungent odor of body sweat clogging my lungs. Outside, the scenery rushed past me in a
blur of color. By the time we flew around a curve so sharp it almost caused me to project my morning
s breakfast into the lap of

Hybohydrates Essay
The relative is exhibiting the symptoms and signs of low blood glucose levels (hypoglycaemia)
together with the body s attempts to compensate for this. Part of this response includes activation of
the stress system and its hormones which would explain the fast heart rate and shaking. Eating sweets
(a source of glucose) reverses this hypoglycaemia and relieves the symptoms. The process of
maintaining normal blood glucose levels (70mg/dl) involves a negative feedback system involving
several hormones[1]. In response to low blood glucose: pancreatic a cells secrete glucagon, a hormone
necessary for the lysis of glycogen to glucose (glycogenolysis) and the production of glucose from
other, non carbohydrate sources, such as fat and protein ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In response to the attack, the b cells undergo cell apoptosis, reducing the quantity of insulin and
therefore increasing blood glucose levels depending on how many beta cells have been destroyed.
Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed at a young age, cannot be prevented and cannot be controlled
without insulin supplements. Conversely, type 2 diabetes results from prolonged exposure to high
blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia 70mg/dl), which causes tissues to become resistant to insulin
over time. Type 2 diabetes can occur because of genetics and poor diet/lifestyle. It is usually
diagnosed later in life and can sometimes be reversed with appropriate lifestyle and dietary changes
(i.e. exercise and healthy eating)[4]. Reduced levels of insulin mean that blood glucose increases past
the set point. This is dangerous as it can cause damage to the eyes, kidneys, nerves, skin, heart, and
blood vessels[5]. While diabetes is often associated with high blood glucose, a consequence of poor
self medication and impractical lifestyle habits can cause another, equally serious condition known as
hypoglycemia (blood glucose 70mg/dl). Symptoms include hunger, shaking, nervousness, sweating,
dizziness or light headedness, sleepiness, confusion, difficulty speaking, anxiety, weakness[6]. Both
type 1 and type 2 diabetics can take insulin to replenish loss/lack of their own b cell production,
although this is more common in type 1

Health Disparities Essay
There are three categories that summarize health disparities in the U.S. The first is disparities that have
a social or economic cause rather than a biological cause. An example of this would be that the death
rates of black American men are 26 percent higher than that of white men. Also, the death rates of
black American woman are 19 percent higher than that of white women. An explanation for this is
because blacks have a lower socioeconomic status than white. The reason for this is because blacks
are more likely than white to never graduate high school, or graduate high school but not go to college
(Barr, 43). Therefore, those with low socioeconomic status can t afford to go to the doctor which
results in a health disparity. The second category

The Events Of The Crusades
The crusades had many factors leading up to these holy wars. Many of them included religious factors
since the main reason behind the crusades was religion. The crusades has more than just a religious
background, there are many social and political reasons behind the crusades too.
The first of the crusades happened between the years of 1096 1099 and began when Pope Urban the II
sent out a message informing his people to go to war against the Muslims in the Holy Land, or
Jerusalem. Armies of Christians from Western Europe then took over Jerusalem in 1099 and the
Muslims of the region vowed to start another holy war against the Christians to regain control of their
land. This led to the second crusade from 1147 1149 (1). The Muslim people began to regain the land
they had lost and overthrew Edessa, the ruler assigned to govern the land while the rest of the
crusaders went home. The Muslims then combined their forces with the Turks and together they
defeated the Crusaders thus ending the second crusade (1).
The third crusade was the result of the fall of Jerusalem. It occurred between the years 1189 1192 due
to the fact that Jerusalem had fallen under the control of Saladin, sultan of Egypt (1). Three armies
from Europe led by Richard of England, Phillip the II of France, and Frederick Barbarossa were going
to make an attempt to stop Saladin but Frederick died and the other two kings did not get along so the
third crusade failed (1). However, the fourth crusade was major

Chapter 1:
1.1.hypothesis is a tentative prediction or proposal which is has not been validated. Only once the
hypothesis has been rigorously tested by scientists can it be elevated to the status of a scientific theory

Downloading All Music Should Be Made Legal
In 1999, an 18 year old college dropout named Shawn Fanning revolutionized the music industry with
the program he invented called Napster. Napster was an internet program that made it possible for
users to share music files for free. His product gained instant interest across America which brought an
opposite response from the Music industry. In 2001, as expected, Napster was sued for copyright
infringement by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and shut down at the peak of
its success. The media industry wanted the technology halted because it was terrified of how it would
affect the economy. Nonetheless, new programs are rising to take Napster s place and history is ...

Looking at the main headlines for downloading that originate from the RIAA, it can be noticed that
the word illegal is replaced by unauthorized . This is because the courts state that the word illegal is
considered to be a false statement when making reference to downloading music. When the topic is
brought to discussion, two typical responses are shouted from the opposing sides.
Supporters of downloading and lobbyists alike both have very opinionated views on the situation.
Some people are arguing that stealing is stealing and wrong no matter what. But is the downloading of
music considered stealing per se? Providing a copyrighted source of material without charge may
sound ludicrous, but when comparing the downloading of music to radio broadcasting, very few
changes are present. Radio broadcasting is allowing listeners to sample copyrighted material free of
charge and is known as a great are kept up to date with the latest media releases. So if free listening is
the problem here, then the radio is much more a factor to be feared. Music downloading functions in
the same motion, but with more benefits to the artist. Without the free listening opportunity presented
by downloading, many new bands would never have the chance to extend their music on a large scale,
from a lack of funds. As quoted from a survey of Vintage Cask, 85% of profit does not come from the
selling of music CD s believe it or not, but from the selling of merchandise like band shirts and

the novel, 1984 by George Orwell, the party used technology to make a whole new society that goes

worst of all was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically turned into
ungovernable little savages, and yet this produced in them no tendency whatever to rebel against the

used to make sure that it stays in power because if they can move the youth to their side, the whole
nation will follow. We might not know it but our government might just be looking through our

different negative ways that it would be better if we did not have electronics because we would still

BLOCK III ESSAY QUESTION CHOSEN : ___ #1___
BEGIN ESSAY BELOW:
Oil has been used by domestic and foreign governments in the development of the Middle East both
domestically and in foreign policy since 1940 by using it as a bartering item because it is such a valid
and precious resource that can fuel homes, towns, and countries. The Middle East has had many ups
and downs throughout its development as a country, but its abundant supply of oil made it a country
that outsiders wanted to either friend or control. The D Arcy Concession in the early 1900 s were

There was no competition to lower their asking price. Soon to follow in the mid 1970 s, was an oil
embargo. This embargo presented the first oil shock. Immediately OAPEC proclaimed the embargo.
Anwar el Sadat, the third president of Egypt played a role during this time. He reigned from 1970 until
the early 1980 s. As a member of the free officers who overthrew King Farouk in an Egyptian
revolution during the 1950 s, Anwar el Sadat reinstituted a multiparty system creating a domino effect
leading to the October war. All Palestinian efforts were abandoned, and he was opposed by PLO and
the Muslim Brotherhood. This alienation also included him getting kicked out of the Arab league
which was in the early 1980 s. This then resulted in the United States involvement in the October War.
As retaliation to the OAPEC the United Stated decided to supply those affected unjustly by this
embargo with arms. The October War is also known as the Yom Kippur war. The countries mainly
involved at this time were Israel, Egypt and Syria, and Egypt had an additional end goal to claim the
Sinai Peninsula.
Though there were multiple conflicts in the fight to gain power of the oil in the Middle East this
helped to strengthen the Middle East. It turned their country from being seen as a stereotypical dried
up desert to being seen as a rich and prosperous advantage to those in alliance with it. Oil provided the
Middle East to have a voice in trading systems. Everyone needed oil

Heart Of Darkness Imperialism
In the novella, Heart of Darkness, written by Joseph Conrad, there are many instances where a person
is infected by an unknown entity. The characters do not realize it but, they are infected by something
that cannot be cured. The infection does not just effect their body, but it also effects their soul. It
corrupts them to a point of no return. In serious cases it can leave a dead space inside of someone.
Heart of Darkness is a degenerative disease created by imperialism that corrupts anything and anyone

people who are sick and dying. The Heart of Darkness is slowly taking its affect. Marlow sees Native
Africans dying slowly it was very clear. They were not enemies, they were not criminals, they were
nothing earthly now, nothing but black shadows of disease and starvation lying confusedly in greenish
gloom (Pg. 17). Even Marlow recognizes that the people there are being infected by a disease. But he
does not realize it is the Heart of Darkness infecting them. The most sickening part about these
deplorable events are that the Europeans who brought the Heart of Darkness are not helping the
natives. They do not see the natives as worthy of saving or even treating. Marlow idolizes a man
named Kurtz. Mr. Kurtz is a great man that according to Marlow many people look up to.

Positive And Negative Aspects Of The Lgbt Community
The LGBT community, a small, often marginalized group, has few sources of influence to their
direction and path. It is common in our 21st century society for those discovering themselves to mimic
and embody the characteristics with which they observe. When children grow up, they look up to the
diverse group of individuals and ideas surrounding them. As a person explores their formative years
they seek out groups with which they have something in common. They are drawn to the lifestyles
with which they identify most. It is in this association that many traits and behaviors from these
groups start be emulated. Taking this relatively simple concept, I will apply this to theatre and infer
whether there are any positive or negative effects pertaining to gay themes found on stage.
Further elaborating on the connection between formative years of discovering one s self, we will find
that our society has a desire to place designators and identifiers on people. This acts as a quick and
easy way to categorize an individual and assess a slew of presumed things in categories ranging from
economic status, religious affiliation, sex, criminality, intelligence, physical capabilities, social
standing to many more. Regardless of the reasons for boxing people into a specific category, the
dominant signifiers seem to greatly influence the trajectory of one s identifiable categories. When
humans are forming their self identity they tend to place themselves in a box that society has deemed

The Sherlock Holmes By Dr. James Watson
One of the things that make the Sherlock Holmes books distinctive is their point of view. The books
are written as an account Sherlock Holmes case, written by Dr. James Watson, chronicling the
achievements of the detective. This book, in particular, is unique in its point of view. The first few
chapters are told in past tense, as Watson recalls the events; the next few chapters are present tense, in
the form of extracts from Watson s diary or letters sent to Holmes from the hall; the last few chapters
shift back to past tense recollections. Having Watson tell the tale instead of Holmes was a compelling
choice. Holmes, with his straightforward logical mind, would have been unable to provide the imagery
that Watson did. Watson, who has more of an artistic flair, was able to beautifully describe the
disturbing way the fog rolled on the moor, or how the Hall at night was desolate and gloomy. Holmes
would have only given a bare boned factual account of events; none of the dramatic scenes emotional
description gifted by Watson. Furthermore, having Watson tell the tale makes Holmes methods seem
more enigmatic as the perspective is not from inside Holmes head. Having this veil of mystery around
the techniques Holmes uses makes him seem more impressive and worthy of the reader s respect.
Watson s perspective also enabled the reader to discover clues and unravel the case along with him.
Watson began the case and went to Dartmoor without any idea of who caused Sir Charles death,

then be broken down into the individual rights that not only made all men equal under the law, but put
France on the road towards a constitutional monarchy. The universal freedoms outlined in the

  • 2. Speech On Importance Of Cosmetics Importance of cosmetics Cosmetics have been in use since ages for reconstructing the appearance of the person wearing them. Beauty cosmetics can build a drastic change in a person s features, as they improve the best features and cover the blemishes. People use creams and lotions to cleanse the skin deeply. This is not possible with water and regular soap . Deep cleansing removes other underlying pollutants and opens the skin pores . Blocked pores lead to the formation of acne and beauty cosmetics prevent this from occurring. At the same time, we cannot remove some blemishes so easily. Dark spots and Blemishes are very common on most people s skin. The use of makeup, such as a better concealer can effectively cover up the flaw. This results in a skin, which looks ... • 4. Britain Of The European Union The issue of Britain remaining in the European Union, and the consequences of a potential British exit sometimes shortened to Brexit from the European Union, have come to the forefront of public debate. While some say that Britain s egress from the EU would benefit it economically, others argue that the contrary is true, and that there would be detrimental economic consequences for Britain and Europe. In truth, the issue is much more complex and multifaceted. Brexit must be looked at in terms of its socioeconomic consequences on immigration, the job market, and trade; and also its political effects on British sovereignty. It has been claimed through the last coalition government, and the Labour government before that, that 3 3.5 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some studies have tried to assess the impact of EU regulations affecting businesses the EU being able to pass legislation on matters such as product specifications, competition, employment terms, health and safety, and consumer protection using Impact Assessments (IAs). Looking at a smaller number of regulations but with the largest associated costs, the British Chamber of Commerce estimated the costs of regulations annually to be £7.6 billion and the cost since 1998 being about £60.8 billion. Both studies reached a consensus that the Working Time Directive, the Pollution Directive, the Data Protection Directive and the Directive on the Sale of Consumer Goods were the most expensive regulations. But both Open Europe and the British Chamber of Commerce came to the conclusion that the benefit cost ratio of EU regulation was 1.02, while the benefit cost ratio of regulations imposed by the UK government was 2.35. Countries that are in the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries that are not in the European Union but do have access to the Single Market must abide by EU economic regulations. Joining the EFTA has provided an option for Britain to leave the EU but remain the Single Market. However, this leaves Britain in a quandary: do they accept the EU s regulations or risk being forced out of the Single Market? A complete withdrawal would also mean that at least in the short term, Britain would have to retain some of the EU regulations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The services are designed to provide the utmost, high quality care and confidentiality to patients who choose to take part in the services. Welcoming people of all ages, the mission of Eskenazi Health Midtown Community Mental Health Center is to directly serve the patient suffering with serious mental illness and chronic addiction, as well as their families. • 6. Loneliness Isolation in of Mice and Men An idea I found interesting in the novel Of Mice And Men, by John Steinbeck was loneliness and isolation. I found this idea interesting because it helped me understand how important it is to be surrounded by people. George and Lennie s friendship contrasts this idea as they are friends and they have each other, whereas most of the other ranch workers travel alone. The idea of loneliness was strongly conveyed through the characters Crooks and Curley s wife, they are both key examples of lonely and segregated characters. The location of the ranch also represents the idea of isolation as the Spanish translation of the town s name Soledad means loneliness. Crooks is perhaps the most segregated character in the novel and therefore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By having no name, she seems to be even more friendless, and I think this is interesting because to get to know someone and try to make friends with them, a name is a good place to start. She regularly enters the bunkhouse, apparently looking for Curley, but as the novel progresses, we become aware that she is actually pretending to look for Curley just so she can talk to someone I get awful lonely, conveys this realization. The men at the ranch become aware of her loneliness when she reveals to them that she is alone Think I don t like to talk to someone ever once in a while? Think I like to stick in that house alla time? Curley s wife s loneliness leads her to talk to Lennie and let him feel her hair. Unfortunately for both characters, Lennie does not realise his own strength and accidentally breaks her neck in anxiety and panic. In this case, I found the idea of loneliness interesting because it made me think about loneliness and how it can have a negative effect on people. Humans need friendship to stay connected and part of society and I found this interesting because I feel that I am surrounded by good spirited spirited people who do have friends and this really contrasts with the situations in the novel. The idea of loneliness and isolation is shown though the use of contrast George and Lennie have a friendship which allows them to have support and someone to talk to that gives a damn about us. • 7. Questions On Non Financial Firms 1. Introduction The 2007 2008 crisis started off in August 2007 as a subprime mortgage crisis primarily concentrated in the United States but quickly metamorphosized into a global financial crisis where financial institutions teeter on the edge of bankruptcy in many countries in addition to the United States. A global economic crisis ensues in which nonfinancial firms around the world appear to spiral downward as well. A key potential contributor to the plight of the non financial firms is the financial crisis itself, in the form of a negative shock to the supply of external finance needed by non financial firms. However, as the two quotes by some leading policymakers and scholars at the beginning of the paper indicate, the idea that non financial firms suffer from a strongly negative supply of finance shock is not universally shared. In addition, if non financial firms do not do well, there can certainly be other causes, such as a contraction of demand for their products. This paper has three objectives. First, it aims to develop a simple framework that can capture and quantify the relative importance of the finance shock to the economic health of non financial firms. Second, in a cross country context, it aims to investigate whether the responsiveness of the real economy to a given finance shock varies by country features that the literature suggests that could matter, such as the type of a financial system, the nature of a monetary and exchange rate regime, or the extent ... • 8. Lenore By Edgar Allan Poe Analysis The Power of Conversation Since birth, Edgar Allan Poe was forced to face faced the harsh realities of life. After his father left the family and Poe s mother passed away when he was merely three, Poe was forced to move from his home, Massachusetts, to live with another family in Virginia. Later, Poe gambled to earn enough money to attend the University of Virginia, but when he returned home he found his fiancee engaged to marry his neighbor. Poe attended military school, West Point Academy, but was kicked out, and afterwards married his cousin who died only eleven years later (Biography.com). These traumatic events shaped Poe as a man and writer, and caused his dark, macabre writing style. In his poem Lenore, Edgar Allan Poe uses the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Poe s poem, Lenore extends further and uniquely focuses on a man s journey to accept the loss of his betrothed using the tone and organization of the text. The poem is organized as a conversation in four stanzas between Guy de Vere and the narrator. The first and third stanzas are the spoken words of the narrator and the second and fourth stanzas are the verbal responses of Guy de Vere. Poe s decision to compose his poem in this manner provides the reader with a direct look at the raw, bare emotions of the recently widowed man. These four stanzas allow the reader four opportunities to stand in Guy de Vere s shoes and to hear what he hears. The reader now can identify with the complex array of emotions and stages of grief experienced by Guy de Vere. With each stanza in the poem, the tone changes slightly showing the gradual acceptance of the loss by Guy de Vere. In the second stanza, de Vere s tone, created by internal sound devices and sentence structure, is hostile, demonstrating the anger felt. The change in de Vere s tone occurring in the fourth stanza demonstrates a major evolution in his outlook toward the future. He finally understands that although Lenore is gone, she will be accepted in Heaven; and his life will continue without her. By talking out his feelings through conversation, Guy de Vere finally accepts the loss of his bride to be, showing the power that one conversation can have on someone s life. In Poe s poem, he uses structure and sound devices to show that after the loss of a loved one, one may attribute the death to others, but with consolation and care from others, he or she will make peace with the ... Sobriety checkpoint programs are defined as procedures in which law enforcement officers restrict traffic flow in a designated, specific location so they can check drivers for signs of alcohol impairment. If officers detect any type of incapacitation based upon their observations, they can perform additional testing, such as field sobriety or breath analysis tests (Greene, 2003). To this end, agencies using checkpoints must have a written policy as a directive for their officers to follow. Agencies normally choose locations for checkpoints from areas that statistically reveal crashes or offenses (Green, 2003). Officers stop vehicles based on traffic flow, staffing, and overall safety. They must stop vehicles in an arbitrary sequence, whether they stop all vehicles or a specified portion of them. Checkpoints offer a visible enforcement method intended to deter potential offenders, as well as to apprehend impaired drivers. The first of the crusades happened between the years of 1096 1099 and began when Pope Urban the II sent out a message informing his people to go to war against the Muslims in the Holy Land, or Jerusalem. Immediately OAPEC proclaimed the embargo. Anwar el Sadat, the third president of Egypt played a role during this time. He reigned from 1970 until the early 1980 s. As a member of the free officers who overthrew King Farouk in an Egyptian revolution during the 1950 s, Anwar el Sadat reinstituted a multiparty system creating a domino effect leading to the October war. All Palestinian efforts were abandoned, and he was opposed by PLO and the Muslim Brotherhood. This alienation also included him getting kicked out of the Arab league which was in the early 1980 s. This then resulted in the United States involvement in the October War. As retaliation to the OAPEC the United Stated decided to supply those affected unjustly by this embargo with arms. The October War is also known as the Yom Kippur war. The countries mainly involved at this time were Israel, Egypt and Syria, and Egypt had an additional end goal to claim the Sinai Peninsula. Though there were multiple conflicts in the fight to gain power of the oil in the Middle East this helped to strengthen the Middle East. Marlow sees Native Africans dying slowly it was very clear. They were not enemies, they were not criminals, they were nothing earthly now, nothing but black shadows of disease and starvation lying confusedly in greenish gloom (Pg. 17). Even Marlow recognizes that the people there are being infected by a disease. But he does not realize it is the Heart of Darkness infecting them. The most sickening part about these deplorable events are that the Europeans who brought the Heart of Darkness are not helping the natives. They do not see the natives as worthy of saving or even treating. Marlow idolizes a man named Kurtz. Mr. Kurtz is a great man that according to Marlow many people look up to. It is common in our 21st century society for those discovering themselves to mimic and embody the characteristics with which they observe. When children grow up, they look up to the diverse group of individuals and ideas surrounding them. As a person explores their formative years they seek out groups with which they have something in common. They are drawn to the lifestyles with which they identify most. It is in this association that many traits and behaviors from these groups start be emulated. Taking this relatively simple concept, I will apply this to theatre and infer whether there are any positive or negative effects pertaining to gay themes found on stage. Further elaborating on the connection between formative years of discovering one s self, we will find that our society has a desire to place designators and identifiers on people. This acts as a quick and easy way to categorize an individual and assess a slew of presumed things in categories ranging from economic status, religious affiliation, sex, criminality, intelligence, physical capabilities, social standing to many more. Regardless of the reasons for boxing people into a specific category, the dominant signifiers seem to greatly influence the trajectory of one s identifiable categories. • 37. The Sherlock Holmes By Dr. James Watson One of the things that make the Sherlock Holmes books distinctive is their point of view. The books are written as an account Sherlock Holmes case, written by Dr. James Watson, chronicling the achievements of the detective. This book, in particular, is unique in its point of view. The first few chapters are told in past tense, as Watson recalls the events; the next few chapters are present tense, in the form of extracts from Watson s diary or letters sent to Holmes from the hall; the last few chapters shift back to past tense recollections. Having Watson tell the tale instead of Holmes was a compelling choice. Holmes, with his straightforward logical mind, would have been unable to provide the imagery that Watson did. Watson, who has more of an artistic flair, was able to beautifully describe the disturbing way the fog rolled on the moor, or how the Hall at night was desolate and gloomy. Holmes would have only given a bare boned factual account of events; none of the dramatic scenes emotional description gifted by Watson. Furthermore, having Watson tell the tale makes Holmes methods seem more enigmatic as the perspective is not from inside Holmes head. Having this veil of mystery around the techniques Holmes uses makes him seem more impressive and worthy of the reader s respect. Watson s perspective also enabled the reader to discover clues and unravel the case along with him. Watson began the case and went to Dartmoor without any idea of who caused Sir Charles death, ...
