Facebook Case Analysis
Facebook (FB) has been dominating the social network industry since its birth in 2004. It was one of
the first social platforms that aimed to connect people all over the world together. FB has been
successful in establishing its competitive advantage relying in its network effect and its ability to catch
up with the competition.
As depicted on Figure II, FB has strength points that include: its long history and its access to global
markets over a short period of time, that enabled it to lock in a wide base of users that find it too costly
to switch to other networks that don t provide a strong motivation for switching especially that FB has
a strong ability for imitation and integration that led to a growing advertising revenue from different
advertisers that find FB to be a great source of data that they can use for segmentation and targeting.
FB weakness points are: its high dependency on advertising revenue, its high dependency on games
applications revenue and concentration of ownership in the hands of its founder, Mr. Zuckerberg, that
seems to be so innovative and successful. However, it is a reason why long term investors may worry
because there is no guarantee of the continuous of the long term success given a single control over a
public company. On the external trend, FB has an opportunity to increase its base of mobile users due
to the increase of people logging in on the go in comparison to computer users. FB has an opportunity
to expand using social commerce by

Functions Of The Board Of Board Governing Type I, II, And IIi
The board needs to take a more active role in governing the organization. The best board are ones that
implement the trifecta of board governing Type I,II, and III governing. Type I governing is fiduciary
governing. In type 1 governance, data is gathered and reviewed to ensure compliance with laws and
policies (Chait). Type I governing prevents waste, thefts, misuse of resources, safeguards the mission
and requires trustees to operate solely in the best interest of the board (chait, Ryan , Taltoy) The board
needs to ask whether and how effectively programs are advancing the mission and analyse
performance measures. As part of this type of governing the league spots and debate the fiduciary
significance of issues. Chait writes that Type I governing routinely examine financial and
programmatic reports (chaiit). The league will review reports on a monthly basis and on a bi yearly
basis do a thorough review on the budget the financial statements of the league in order to revise,
amend or rework the financial strategies put in place.
Type 2 governance strategically sets goals and plans courses of action. To create these strategic plans
the league performs S.W.O.T analysis, reviews its stage in the organization s life cycle, and works to
create a strategic plan that will achieve the desired results but will also be flexible enough to adapt to
our rapidly changing world. The league is also in the habit of looking at other successful leagues and

Theme Of Identity In Othello
Othello s Identity, Morals, and Acceptance
Othello is perceived as one whom is lost in the novel. Caryl Phillps retells the Shakespeare s Othello.
In Nature of Blood by revisiting Shakespeare s Othello, Phillips focuses on discrimination, identity
and desire of home through interwoven stories. The novel discusses Othello s past and present
situation upon his arrival in Venice. The theme of acceptance is prominent throughout the novel.
Othello s character deteriorates as he struggles with his identity and the notion of home.
Othello is a general in the service of Venice. He is examined in the Shakespeare play as courageous,
noble qualities, trustworthy. It is obvious to feel a degree of sympathy for Othello because he is
considered an other . He is a man that is willing to accept that he is racially different, as he seems to
recognize his status. I tend to sympathize with Othello because he easily influenced, insecure, and a
benevolent heart for Desdemona. Othello relies heavily upon engaging with the Venetian culture and
his identity as the military general. The two stories draw parallel to each other because Othello s
identity is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article uses three major concepts to explain Othello s struggle. The author discusses Black
European Success as a reference to the book European tribe. He explains that Othello tragedy began
when he started to forget he was black. The author describes Othello as white mask tucking black skin
away in shame (Calbi 5). Othello is oppressed from the outsider and desires to be accepted into the
Venetian culture. The Ghost of Strangers are traumatic and messy memories that cannot assimilate
entirely. Ghost of strangers always arrive at a different time throughout the novel. The notion of home
resides in the imaginative gap between desire. Home is a place where one s feels welcome. It is
equivalent to the marginalization of a host of

Captain Americ Captain s Superhero
Captain America is a Marvel comic book character, created in 1940. His real name is Steve Rodgers.
The Captain became a beloved superhero around the time of World War II. After being rejected by the
Army, Rodgers found himself as the test subject of a super soldier project. This experiment was
successful and it gave him abnormal strength, endurance, intelligence and speed. As this perfect
human and soldier, Captain America worked closely with soldiers to fight against the Nazis. During a
mission. Rodgers was forced to crash his plane into a glacier. This glacier kept him frozen for almost
seventy years. He was eventually thawed out in modern times. Today, Captain America is a loved, and
timeless superhero.

Captain America believes in justice, and that it must be served to those who have done wrong. For
instance, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier Nick Fury was chased after agents claiming to work
for local law enforcement and S.H.I.E.L.D. To hide from these men, fury went to Rodger`s home,
informing him how S.H.I.E.L.D was compromised. Soon after, he was shot by the Winter Soldier.
Fury later died while surgeon`s were trying to save him. The Captain made it is mission to figure out
who compromised S.H.I.E.L.D and to serve them justice for their role in Fury`s death. In the United
States we also have a strong sense of justice. We have an entire system that is devoted to serve justice
to those have committed crimes. Another value that is important to Steve Rodgers is courage. As a
superhero, one cannot be easily frightened. Therefore, Captain America is not afraid to risk his life to
save others. Throughout the move he is not apprehensive about jumping out of planes, or fighting ten
enemies in an elevator. In the movie, his tremendous example of courage is towards the end. The
Captain was in charge of overriding the software for the three ships. This would result in the three
ships blowing up. Captain America was willing to let himself die on the ship in order to successfully
override the systems. This action ended up saving thousands of people. Fortunately, the Captain

A Brief Analysis Of My Organization s Sharepoint Team
Team Work Readiness Analysis
In this paper I am composing a brief analysis of my organization s SharePoint team. This analysis will
bring together different information that has been composed within my MGMT 581 Team Building
class. The purpose of this analysis is to determine my organizations readiness to support team work.
Also, a SharePoint team improvement plan will be included.
Team Analysis
In an earlier assignment I created a Team Analysis. The team analysis was composed around my
current SharePoint team within Salt River Project (SRP). The SharePoint Team is a self managing
team. My Team consists of two SharePoint developers, two SharePoint administrators, two SharePoint
supporters, and a college intern. I am a SharePoint ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Knowledge, Skills, Attitude
The SharePoint team is well rounded in knowledge and skills. We have entry level positions covered
with our intern, all the way to extremely technical positions such as our developers.
Motivation and Effort
SRP has an implemented bonus system which is called EPIC. The manager sets the team EPIC around
high level goals for the year. These goals are usually created around the successful completion of
known projects needing completion. If my goals are attained by the dates specified, I am awarded an
EPIC bonus. My EPIC bonus is usually awarded at 1 percent of my salary for each goal attained.
Team members are very motivated to obtain their EPIC, and I have noticed this to be consistent with
others as well.
Coordination Strategies
The separated skill sets create an environment that does not need much in the coordination strategy
area. My team knows exactly who is responsible for each task as soon as a requirement is stated.
However, the problem we have currently is a couple of individuals are consistently handled a larger
percentage of the work. The largest complaint around our current planning and task structure is that it
is unequal between team members. I am an administrator and have noticed the unequal load. Team
members with knowledge tend to become the go to personnel to assist others their tasks.
Team Performance
The SharePoint Team is responsible for the SharePoint software and

The Amendment And The Rights Amendment
Possibly the most conversational amendment to every make it s way through the Senate and the House
was the Equal Rights Amendment in 1972. The Equal Rights Amendment was, introduced through the
twenties, thirties, forties, fifties, and sixties without success (Schneir, 369). Various organizations such
as the National Woman s Party (those who proposed it), National Organization for Women, the
Women s Department of the United Auto Workers, and many other feminists worked most if not all of
their lives to pass this specific amendment. In the early 1970 s, the House approved the amendment by
a large ratio of 354 to 23. Additionally, in 1972, the Senate also passed the amendment by another
shocking ratio of 84 to 8. Unfortunately, the amendment did not pass by its deadline of June 30th,
1982 by only thirty five states approving it for ratification by at least thirty eight states (Schneir, 370).
There were various reasons why the amendment did not pass, and Miriam Schneir discussed several of
these in the section Equal Rights Amendment in the book Feminism in Our Time. Though the Equal
Rights Amendment had various dedicated supporters working to pass it, it also had several Anti Equal
Rights Amendment working to make sure it DID NOT pass. One key figure in this Anti Equal Rights
Amendment was Phyllis Schlafly. Schlafly argued that the passing of the Equal Rights Amendment
would cause there to be a boom in the creation of unisex bathrooms. She argued that bathrooms

Dracula Compared To Modern Society
Why are people so obsessed with vampires today that they go crazy over any book, movie, or tv show
that has a vampire? In 1897, the year Dracula was published Britain was at the height of the empire
expanding. Britain had conquered huge expanses of land from Africa, Asia, and North America and
used the land for military and economic power. The rise of the United States and European powers
threatened to unseat Britain and the world s most powerful nation, at the time this was occurring a rise
in immigration brought unfamiliar races and cultures. Dracula, as an immigrant from the easternmost
edge of Europe represented many of the popular prejudices against outsiders. A year after Dracula
published, British author H.G. Wells exploited similar anxieties in his alien invasion novel The War of
the World s. When comparing vampires adaptation to modern society vs. victorian society one can see
the difference between sex, culture, and tradition through Bram Stoker s, Dracula. In the time period
Dracula was written victorian women either had two choices, be a wife and mother or be a virgin and
pure if she was neither of these she was considered a whore and had no consequence to society. In
Dracula Lucy was seen as a whore, her physical beauty captivated each of her suitors and displayed a
comfort playfulness about her desirability. Why can t they let a girl marry three men, or as many as
want her, and save all this trouble? (Bram Stoker __). To Lucy it did not matter how she was

What Is The Characterization Of The Little Prince
Identification with the Little Prince s Fox Throughout the short children s novel, The Little Prince by
Antoine de Saint Exupery, the Little Prince encounters a variety of different characters, all showing
him or teaching him something about life. My favorite character and the one that I can connect to most
is the Fox. The fox enlightens him on what it is truly is to be tamed. He shows him that you are
responsible for whatever you have tamed, whether it be a pet, a person, or even a rose. When the Little
Prince first stumbled across the fox, he would not go anywhere near him. The fox informed him that if
he wanted to get to know him, he would have to have patience and tame him. He then further
explained how he has never been tamed before, and requested that the Little Prince would do so. Little
by little, each day the Little Prince would get closer and closer to the Fox, at last being able to pet him.
The Fox grew to anticipate seeing the Little Prince at the same time daily, located in the same place.
He grew to love the Little Prince, leading them to establish ties. The Little Prince was not just any
little boy to him anymore. Now that the Fox was tamed, it is time for the Little Prince to leave. The
Fox begins to weep and the Little Princes worries that taming the Fox did not do him any good.
However, the Fox goes onto explain that because of him the golden color of the wheat fields will bring
him joy, because it evokes memories of the Little Prince s

Temporary plots are established for the purpose of above ground pool and soil carbon measurements.
The objects are for a single measurement of forest composition, structure and carbon pools. In this

removed from the soil surface. And then PVC pipe will be steadily inserted vertically into the soil
until the top of the sampler was levelled with the soil surface. Then, the soil will be sampled at depths
of 0 15cm, 15 30cm, 30 50cm and 50 100cm in the present study. During sampling, to archive the
core, take a GPS recording of coring site and assign the site a unique label then photograph the entire
core from top to bottom and record changes that occur with depth. Photos can be taken in the field
once the core will be recovered and one of the splits will be cleaned. Extend a tape measure along the
core starting at the top end and document the split from top to bottom (surface to depth) using detailed
photographs of core image. Be sure to include the tap measure in these images of the core. Place a

Dramatic Irony In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter
Nathaniel Hawthorne was born July 4th, 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts, an area still steepled with the
Puritanical religion. As previously stated, Nathaniel Hawthorne was the grandson to two we ll know
Puritan preachers, one who trailed and condemned people during the Salem Witch Trials. Hawthorne
was raised by his mother, a single widow, and by a household full of women. Trying to escape this
side of the family, Hawthorne added the w to his name as to avoid being considered related to the
Hathornes before him, as if trying to avoid the shame and negative connotations coming with the
name. Hawthorne wrote The Scarlet Letter in 1850 after being fired from his job in the Salems
Customs House, forced to write as a living. Many people were outraged after reading the novel as it
criticized Puritanical religion, which Hawthorne hadn t noticed until afterwards, and brought to light
these hypocritical things people didn t want to see. Many people disliked Hawthorne as he criticized

In this essay, I equip with analytical views of self development of my experiences as a part of

To add up with my conversation, I move on to communication skills management. An effective
communication by laymen terms makes easy way of transforming the message without change in
actual desired motive. The empirical research reveals, many people are brilliant in ideas and
methodologies, due to lack of communication may lead to false interpretation and not impressively
proficient (Deacon,1997; Hauser,1996).I think, this is well observed during our poster presentation.
Previously, we are not aware of how to present the poster which is little different from group tasks.

The NFL is investigating whether the New England Patriots intentionally deflated footballs during

NFL rules stipulate that footballs must be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch and
weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.
Former NFL official Jim Daopoulos, in an interview with ESPN on Monday morning, explained the
process in which footballs are managed. Two hours and 15 minutes before each game, officials inspect
12 footballs from each team and put a mark on them to indicate they meet the proper requirements and
are good for usage. Then those footballs are given to the ball attendant.
There also is a second set of six footballs, used specifically for the kicking game, that are marked
appropriately and remain in the possession of officials at all times.
Officials check balls as they go into the game, and if the ball doesn t feel perfect, they can throw it out,
Daopoulos said. There is always the possibility that balls can lose air due to the conditions.
A team can be fined if it is found to be knowingly altering the weight of the football.
The NFL s game operations manual states: Once the balls have left the locker room, no one, including
players, equipment managers, ball boys, and coaches, is allowed to alter the footballs in any way. If
any individual alters the footballs, or if a non approved ball is used in the game, the person responsible
and, if appropriate, the head coach or other club personnel will be subject to discipline, including but
not limited to, a fine of $25,000.

Important Characters in “Abina and the Important Men” by...
Do you think besides literature have another ways to display history? Can historians show you the
picture about the historic event instead of imagining them by yourselves? Abina and the Important
Men is a graphic history book, so the authors not only gives readers literal record but also give images
to illustrate the history. The story happened in west Africa in 1876. In story includes phenomenon of
the society, and certain African cultures. Abina Mansah, Quamina Eddoo and William Meltonare most
important characters in the story because they represent different hierarchies in the society and display
different condition in these hierarchies. Abina is a main character in the story. She reflects most
African girls living in a low social status. The first reason that she is a very important character in the
story is she escaped from her master to find help. In that period, British issued a law that slaves are
repealed. Because British controlled West Africa, the citizens needed to comply with the law.
However, Abina was sold to Quamina Eddoo by her older master even though she did not see money
transactions. When her new master compelled her to marry his servant, she escaped and find James
Davis. She was a bright girl. She understood what the law was, so she did not surrender her master
instead of found help. Even though she was in the lowest social status, she still ran for her right.
Secondly, she prosecuted her master in a British court. Taking master to court was an

Essay On Veteran Application
For many years the VA has been the only source of veteran support in the US. The VA s main purpose
is to provide a trust worthy source of information and resources for all military personnel. The VA is
not driven by its dollar signs but by seeing that everyone involved with the military has a place that
they can turn to for anything they need. With that in mind, I know that the Department of Veteran s
Affairs is the place for me.
After searching through thousands of job announcements I was fortunate enough to come across the
Civilian Payroll Technician position on the VA s career webpage. Upon reading the position
description I am convinced that my experience and prior knowledge make me a perfect candidate for
this position.
During my time as an accounting intern and assistant, as well as my time as a receptionist, I performed
many clerical duties such as handling all telephone calls, and preparing and editing documents for my
supervisors. As a receptionist, I was also in charge of setting up meetings and ordering different office

Katherine Mansfield s Mrs. Brill
When reading Miss Brill written by Katherine Mansfield. The story starts off in the perspective of
Mrs. Brill a elderly lady wearing a fur coat. This is when the story starts to progress, Mrs. Brill
decides to wear her fur coat to the public garden. She then proceeds to sit in the garden on a bench and
observe the various foot traffic. She would sit and observe and listen to the peoples conversation
without them noticing her ease dropping. The garden was quite busy that day due to the band that
usually plays there playing so beautifully. An elderly couple come and sit by Mrs. Brill on the bench,
they were not interesting to Mrs. Brill. Mrs. Brill started to notice that the people on Sundays were

Brill is a average story but it means a lot more than the words tell and about the way people effect

towards the middle. I was growing a little weary of the immense detail throughout the story. When
Mrs. Brill was making snap judgements about the other characters I started to dislike her more and
more. I still remained to like Mrs. Brill although the author makes it difficult felt her presence was
hindering their mood. But in all reality Mrs. Brill was just sitting in a public area and happened to
make the girl feel uncomfortable, while the young couple instead of just moving places responded in a
ill manner ruining the rest of her day. Over all I find the story mediocre but with a good moral and
ethical agenda.to like her because of all her faults. Towards the end of the story I feel that the author
got the most influential part of the story, how the last set of teenagers are boysterious towards Mrs.

Analysis Of Leon The Professional
Leon: The Professional (1994)
Leon: the Professional is considered to be one of the best action films of the 1990s. The film is set in
modern day New York and features Jean Reno as Leon, a professional hitman, and twelve year old
Natalie Portman as Mathilda, a neighbor of Leon in an apartment complex.
The film is, despite the tremendous age gap of the two characters, is a rather sensitive love story. A
film that is about people who have seen sights most people would never want to see, but need each
other for emotional stability. Mathilda and Leon first encounter each other while she smokes a
cigarette in the hallway of their apartment complex. Leon notices that there is a bruise on Mathilda s
face and questions her. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leon drinks two quarts of milk every day. Leon drinks two quarts of milk every day. The film
introduces Leon as an ironic character, as his love for milk is visually also very ironic, in contrast to
his role as a master hitman. Milk represents Leon s paternal involvement for Mathilda and his
wholesomeness. Milk itself also represents those qualities such as: nurture, care and a fluid of life. It
carries a symbol as a fluid of innocence, in the case of the film, it s symbolic towards both Mathilda
and Leon s childhood. In many ways Leon is portrayed as an more immature figure than Mathilda.
Leon is a middle aged man who does know how to read or write, and finds extraordinary pleasure
from the most unornamented forms of entertainment, nor does Leon have any desires of sex or
relationships. 1Leon goes by to one rule no women no children, regardless of earning 5,000$ per
contract that is given to him. As a dedicated cleaner, Leon without doubt does not want change in his
life, but then as Mathilda realizes that Leon s profession is a hitman, her mission becomes clear, to
take revenge on Stansfield, for the death of her little brother.
The music in film is The Dark Side of Time, the theme from La Femme Nikita, about a girl training to
be an assassin. Mathilda desires to learn how to clean and is willing to work under Leon. Leon at first
declines Mathilda s trade, but ultimately concedes to be worn down. Leon begins to enjoy having

Gainsborough, A Story of a Painter and an Era Essay
Gainsborough, A Story of a Painter and an Era
To be able to appraise the originality of eighteenth century English art, one must recognize its
importance in history. A great painter to research is Thomas Gainsborough. His artwork was an
important aspect of the art community of the middle seventeen hundreds. His paintings seem to bring
brightness and color to a period in art that needed his creative boost. His combination of portrait
paintings along with beautiful landscapes was not recognized in his time, but would be recognized as
remarkable later in history.
Thomas Gainsborough was born in 1727 in the town of Sudbury in Suffolk (Internet 1). He grew up as
the son of a woodworking father and his mother was a teacher. He had 7 ... Show more content on

This did not interest Gainsborough; he enjoyed being able to paint subjects outdoors (Internet 4). He
was fond of drawing trees grass and other objects that would not be found in an indoor studio. He was
not the first to draw backgrounds in his paintings; many have done this before him. His task was to
paint a background that was just as important as the subjects do but not distract either. By painting
outdoors, his paintings became much more colorful that most paintings of the past (Woodall 32).
Brighter paintings were much improvement over the paintings of the past. They were very eye
appealing and much more noticeable. Gainsborough s untrained painter s eye did not effect the
outcome of his paintings; he was painting from his heart. He painted whatever his eyes saw; in most
cases the outcome of his paintings were a perfect mix of background and foreground. People began to
start noticing his artwork even though he did not have a degree or formal education in art; this was
very promising to the young painter. His work slowly moved up into the great artwork of the city. His
name was becoming known all around. He can begin his career with the bright colors he added to the
scenery of the painting.
One superb example of where the colors and scenery effected a painting is in the painting Mr. and
Mrs. Andrews. In my first examination of the painting, many questions were brought up. One question

Kantianism And Altruism
Charity. Philanthropy. Altruism. These three words ultimately point to the single, ultimate goal: to help
. In fact, charitable giving is the act of donating money to a certain cause, so that more people are
helped overall. However, many organizations, such as the federal government, offer tax reductions
while other organizations offer other perks for charitable giving. Some see incentives to charity as
demeaning the virtue of selfless giving, yet these critics lose sight of the actual goal of charity: to help
other people in its cause. Charity is not to allow people to think that they are more moral, but it s for
the people instead. Incentivising charitable giving is not only just, but it is also warranted for the final
goal of assisting as many people as possible. From my observations, I first look towards the increasing
socioeconomic gap between the upper and the lower class. Indeed, many wealthy people such as Bill
Gates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, incentivizing charity is morally sound in the two most major moral frameworks of Kantianism
and Utilitarianism. First, Jeremy Bentham wrote many papers describing the philosophy of utility,
where an action is just if it does the most good to the most amount of people. In bringing incentives,
we not only help more people for a cause, but we can all many who want to give charitably a chance
to do so by offsetting the cost. Under Kantianism, Immanuel Kant also states that although charitable
giving is itself virtuous, no one has a full obligation to another human being. Beliweving so would
then follow a radical, Marxist social argument. Essentially, giving a reward to a person who gives up
his or her own belongings which was unobligated to be given in the first place is just in an of itself. In
these two, usually opposing moral frameworks, incentivizing charity is both just in each

Maiwa s Revenge By H. Rider Haggard
Maiwa s Revenge by H. Rider Haggard is a metaphorical tale of colonialism. Containing elements that
may be interpreted to support or reject imperialist ideology, this piece can be analyzed to portray
significant elements of post colonial theory. Imperialist ideology may be seen as rejected through Alan
Quatermain s constant reference and apparent fascination with Zulu culture. However, his consistent
reference to the natives as savage or unintelligent may be in adherence to imperialist ideology and
colonial thought. Furthermore, an interesting symbol in Maiwa s Revenge is the lion trap an object can
be interpreted to represent colonialism as an oppressive manifestation of nationalist thought, but also
as a reference to the positive impacts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At first used as a form of torture for enemies of the tyrannical Wambe who can arguably be seen as the
dark and evil nature of colonial oppression through his degeneration to evil madness the lion trap may
be seen as a direct representation of colonial oppression. Through Maiwa s statement that among the
things that [Wambe] had stolen from the white men whom he slew is a trap that will hold lions. So
strong is the trap that four men must stand on it, two on either side, before it can be opened (204), it is
clear that the trap causes great pain to the Mutuku and the Butiana. However, the entrapment of
Wambe in the trap at the end of the story reflects the negative effects of colonial aggression, and be
portrayed as a representation of the negative and corrupting nature of colonialism. Hence, as Wambe
tasted of the torture of which he had inflicted upon so many (359), a connection can be made to the
benefits of colonialism as a European man saves an African tribe with a European invention. The lion
trap serves as a post colonial critical tool that can arguably be interpreted to reflect or discredit

Using Peer Tutoring And Peer Assistance
Introduction
After taking the survey, I now realize I wish I was doing more differentiated instruction in my

differentiation but not always. Reading through all of the questions really had my thinking on how I
use them in my classroom. For example: one of the questions I had trouble with was: I make frequent
use of peer tutoring and peer assistance in my classroom. I do not do any of that in my music

I will sometimes jot down by their name on the seating chart who needs help with what. Doing more
formal assessments is a must in my classroom. One example of a formal assessment that I did this past
year was teaching the second graders the song Rocky Mountain. Once the song was memorized the
students would come to the front of the room and sing Rocky Mountain for everyone to hear and I
would grade them on their singing ability; if all words were memorized, sang each note on the correct
pitch and if they sang in the correct key throughout. I found this to be very helpful with their
personalities and interests because I found out who really liked singing and who did not really enjoy
it. I also found out who was shy and who was more outgoing. This helped me prepare some of lessons
for the next few times and I knew who I could call on to sing for everyone. Another strength that I
have is helping students set individual learning goals. I recently helped a student who usually has a
hard time concentrating and staying on task create a GPAR (Goal Plan, Action and Result), to help
him get through his classes more focused. It worked very well and the student got a great result and
therefore I know I will be doing this more next year to help a lot more students become successful.

Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare revolves around two men: Marcus Brutus, and, of course, Julius

Sure, the play is named after Caesar, but is it really his play? Brutus is encompasses the whole play,
whereas Caesar dies in Act III. Even though, given the evidence for Brutus, Julius Caesar is Caesar s
play because of the historical context and his overall looming presence throughout the play. While the
play is dramatized for effect, it is exceptionally historically accurate. As a whole, Caesar s personality
is the same in the play as in real life. On the other hand, Shakespeare takes some liberties with Brutus

The Consumer Culture Of The 1920s
The 1920s was a decade filled with prosperity, chaos, and excitement. During the 1920s, many ground
breaking inventions were introduced, such as the Model T Ford, the radio, and the television. The
discoveries and cultural developments of the 1920s would go on to shape America for decades to
come. The 1920s was arguably one of the most important decades in American history, in regards to
the impact it had on American culture and way of life. Such an important decade should have a
nickname, thus the 1920s were called the Roaring 20s. The decade of the 1920s is referred to as
roaring because it was a time of dramatic social change, as demonstrated by the birth of a consumer
society, the rise of a party culture, and the abandonment of long standing morals.
The 1920s are described as roaring because major social developments occurred during the 20s, as
shown by the creation of a consumer culture. The Great Gatsby depicts the consumer society when
Fitzgerald s fictional character Daisy Buchanan bawls, They re such beautiful shirts, she sobbed, her
voice muffled in the thick folds. It makes me sad because I ve never seen such such beautiful shirts
before, (Fitzgerald 99). Fitzgerald s portrayal of the fictional character Daisy represents the consumer
culture of the 1920s; Americans were obsessed with materialistic wealth. Also, during the 1920s, the
economic wealth of America increased by twofold, granting many American families with a newfound
disposable income.

The Goals And Philosophy Of Art
Goals and Philosophy:
Visual Merchandisers have many employment options available in many different sectors. I believe
that displays are all encompassing. It is the little details that culminate a theme or feel that makes
customers want to shop at a particular store and have a certain type of experience depending on who
they are. It is all about making an environment whether a store, a party, a home, etc. as inviting and
welcoming as possible. I strongly believe that there is so much inspiration out there that can be used to
create compelling store displays that provoke consumers to shop and help maximize a store s profits.
This is an interesting field where not only are artistic skills necessary, but also the ability to
merchandise the sales floor and make every visual aspect of a store experience enjoyable.
My art is inspired by popular culture, the work of other artists in similar fields, and the work of
surrealist artists. The prospect of being able to have a job that comprises of creativity and a unique
perspective motivates me to pursue a career in art and design. I want to be able to have a job that I feel
is rewarding and where each day is somewhat different from the next which is possible with visual
merchandising because retail is always changing visually to keep up with trends and seasons.

George Kesey s One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest
Only a few are able to utilize the power to control and manipulate situations which can lead to drastic
outcomes. Those with an assertive and manipulative personality tends to use that to their own benefit
and completely disregard the impact their personality has on the surrounding people and themselves.
In Ken Kesey s novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, he expresses the theme of power and
manipulation through two characters, Nurse Ratched and McMurphy. Both characters use their
manipulative powers for their own advantage in a deceptive way that causes the patients admitted to
the asylum to suffer rather than improve.
Regarding Miss Ratched, she seems to show signs of passive aggressive behavior throughout the
book. This behavior adds to her manipulative ways and contributed to the decrease of the patients
progress (mental/physical state). Passive aggressive behavior is used to maintain control and power
because it s a way for her to not display any signs of weakness. Miss Ratched, also known as the Big
Nurse to the patients, fights hard to remain as the top authority figure in the Ward due to her thirst for
power. To maintain the control over the men, she emasculates them, stripping them of their
masculinity, in various ways to prevent the chance of an uproar against her. For instance, after a group
meeting regarding Harding s problem with his wife s breasts, the patients attack Harding. In response,
McMurphy provides an analogy of a pecking party to the current

The Case Between Ccp Management, Inc.
In looking at the case between CCP Management, Inc. and Andrew Hoganmuller the logical place to
start is looking at a few terms, then considering the material facts and issues, next exploring what case
law has found in the past, and finally determining the outcome of the dispute. Here are some terms we
must consider in this case: A contract involves a promise in return for reasonable consideration.
Adequate consideration is a benefit or detriment, which a party receives which reasonably and fairly
induces them to make the promise/contract. State statutory, common law, and private laws govern all
contracts. Private law may supersede many of the rules otherwise established by state law. Statutory
law often requires some contracts to be in writing and executed with particular formalities (Contract,
n.d.). Refraining or promising to perform or not perform some in exchange for something else. An
offer must be stated and delivered in a way that would lead a reasonable person to expect a binding
contract to arise from its acceptance (Offer, n.d.). Acceptance either can be quantified or inferred by
the offeree s conduct; however, judgment must be objective. Forming a binding contract, requires
relaying acceptance in a manner authorized, requested, or at least reasonably expected by the offeror
(Acceptance, n.d.). A breach of contract occurs when one or more parties are not performing according
to contract; refusing or failing to fulfill an obligation imposed by a

goal throughout his entire life was help people and save people s lives. There were many issues that
Morgan had to overcome whether, it was from growing up being poor, only receiving a formal
education until the sixth grade, but his main issue he had to deal with was racial tension between him
and whites. Against all odds though Morgan was able to still be a very successful man throughout his
life. He came up with and protected the first chemical hair straightener, began his own sewing gear
repair business, and even started a daily paper called the Cleveland Call. In any case, Morgan s most
productive achievements came in his part as an inventor. He got a patent for the first gas mask creation
in 1914; however it wasn t until two years after the fact that the thought truly expanded. It wasn t until
a group of men laborers got stuck in a passage beneath Lake Erie after a blast, Morgan and a group of
men wore the covers to get them out. After the rescue attempt was a win, demands for the masks

Persuasive Essay On Little Grand Canyon
Providence Canyon, or the Little Grand Canyon as some call it, is a well known tourist attraction in
southwest Georgia. It is, as of now, a state park. However many believe that it should be recognized
and made a national park. There are many reasons to support this decision. There is various types of
wildlife, it could also be good for education on erosion and rock formations, and it would be good for
the economic purposes because it is engulfed in tourism every year. This is why many believe that
Providence Canyon should be made a national park. Wildlife is a big game changer when it comes to
dealing with tourism and tourist attractions. While Providence Canyon may not have dinosaurs, it does
have many other variants of animal. According to the paragraph titled ¨Seeing It In Person¨ animals
include white tailed deer, raccoons, woodpeckers, wild turkeys, warblers, armadillos, foxes, and grey
squirrels. Also in ¨Seeing It In Person¨ there is also the world´s largest known colony of a really rare
flower called the plumleaf azalea. It is only found in southwestern Georgia and eastern Alabama, and
can only be seen during the months of July and August. The landscape here is gorgeous. The multi
colored sand, and rock formations can take the breathe away from anyone. ... Show more content on

There are many learning factors here for both the young and the old. According to ¨Seeing It In
Person¨ there are 43 varying colors of sand. There is also geology mixed up in the learning as you can
learn lots from and about the rock formations in the canyon walls. Another interesting fact about
Providence is that it is second only to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. In ¨Come one, Come All¨ it states
that some of the canyons are more than 150 feet deep. ¨Etching Into the Soil¨ could teach a person that
the whole canyon was created when plowed soil was washed away by erosion, due to the fact that the
area was soft and

Pickens Plan
Over the past century, the United States has created an enormous vehicle transportation infrastructure
solely based on one energy source, which is oil. Successful implementation of the Pickens Plan must
involve two major shifts when it comes to the U.S. energy consumption: replacing natural gas with
wind power as a significant source of electricity generation and replacing oil with natural gas as far as
transportation is concerned. If T. Boone Pickens Plan were to be successfully implemented, the global
price of oil would decrease because the plan itself would significantly decrease the demand for oil.
Therefore, when the demand drops, the price will go down as well. Pickens plan would reduce
demand for oil in two different ways. First, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a tariff on oil comes an incentive for people to reduce their use of oil and it makes the U.S. much
more independent. The domestic oil industry, would highly support this because it protects our home
country s producers from the competition of cheap OPEC oil imports. Producers of renewable energy
sources would support the tariff because a high oil price makes alternatives to oil more attractive.
Particularly, it offers a powerful reason to bring manufacturing back to North America. As shown on
the graphs that I have constructed, a tariff though it may result in some dead weight losses, it
nonetheless provides the incentive to reduce oil consumption and spending in this country and it also
provides tax revenue. When it comes to the positive externality graph based on the emphasis the
Pickens Plan places on natural gas in America, one can see the benefits the plan provides for the U.S,
economy as a whole. Yes, one can make the argument that there is simply no demand for such a
change at all whatsoever, however, assuming there were subsidies implemented for the Pickens Plan,
we see demand shift to the right, thus conveying that there will be demand if a good incentive is
provided to the U.S. consumers. It would be plausible for the U.S. to cut off spending billions of
dollars to foreign countries and spend its money and focus to move vehicles away from oil, and rely
on renewable energies such as solar, wind, biofuels, which would in effect, create jobs here in the
United States. This would be a better alternative than having the United States spend huge amounts of
money for oil

One Day In September Sparknotes
Spielberg usage of documentary footage for One Day in September in the opening moments provides
us with archive footage from the news reporters; reporting the kidnapping of eleven Israeli men being
held hostage by Palestinian terrorists. The News shows footage of the first rescue on live television,
being called off. Then shows the hostage and terrorists being transport to the airport by bus. The
explosion at the airport, the news coverage reporting that all the hostages are fine and the terrorist are
all dead. There is another news coverage reporting saying that Our worst fear is realized tonight;
reporting of the eleven hostages, two were killed in their room s yesterday morning, and nine were
killed at the airport tonight. They are all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dealing with terrorism in the 21st century can and probably will be just as difficult as dealing with it
in the 1970s. Munich and One Day in September is about a specific event and its fallout, but in
Munich Spielberg clearly wants us to apply the lesson of the movie to more current issues of terrorism
and counterterrorism. We need to keep this in mind if the actions we are taking will make our country
safer or is this more about justice than about prevention of future

My Volunteer Efforts At The Club
Journal One Throughout the session on October 4th, 2015 from 2pm to 5pm I participated alongside
members in a variety of passive and active activities. The theme of today s session was wheel of
fortune , working on participants use of vowels and consonants. Throughout the session it was my
responsibility to help make up easy and simple puzzles for individuals to solve, while also aiding them
on their teams to enforce rules and promote participation. It was interesting to see the range of abilities
everyone had, and how each individual s disabilities contributed to a great atmosphere of learning,
sharing and growing. In addition overcoming and identifying contextual, personal, and task barriers
was a first hand experience I was able to understand throughout this session. This put into perspective
what it takes for an individual with a disability to overcome a challenge in order to participate,
proving the necessary services that The Club offers to its members, with accessible programming.
From my volunteer efforts I also believe that my personal contributions were beneficial to the
members at The Club. I was able to help individuals with their personal barriers and address them in
appropriate ways with the programming. An example being when I helped one of the club members by
challenging their intrinsic motivation and lack of connectedness, by stimulating them with the activity,
and providing encouragement when they participated. One of the main sayings at the club is if

Essay about Women in Latin America during the Colonization
Women in Latin America during the Colonization The perception of inequality was evident in the
colonial Spanish America, man belief that women were lacked in capacity to reason as soundly as
men. A normal day for European women in the new world was generally characterized by male
domination, for example marriage was arranged by the fathers, women never go out except to go
church, women didn t have the right to express their opinions about politic or society issues.
Subsequent to all these bad treats European women try to find different ways to escape from man
domination and demonstrate their intellectual capacities, for example women used become part of a

that was already predestinated into society. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;In consequence of these bad

Convent, it provided an especially opportunity to achieving self expression and freedom from male
domination and sexual exploitation for elite and middle class women. In the convents women display
their capacity for leadership in administration, management of resources, and a way to create a social
life by receiving visitors. An example of these ways out to society is Sor Juana, according to Keen and
Haynes s book Sor Juana s intellectual brilliance made it difficult for her to find a suitable marriage
partner, in consequence she decide to become part of a Convent. This same experience was common
for one or more daughters of an elite family in every day life nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Other way

Whistleblowing Legislation And Its Role Of Corporate...
Whistleblowing Legislation and Its Role In Corporate Governance
Whistleblowing occurs when an employee, contractor or supplier goes outside the normal
management channels to report suspected wrongdoing at work. A study indicates that no specific actor
dominates the revelation of fraud: short sellers and equity holders revealed the fraud in 9% of the
cases; financial analysts and auditors revealed 14% each; the Securities Exchange Commission ( SEC
) accounted for 6%; the media accounted for 14%; non financial market regulators 16%; and
employees (whistleblowers) accounted for 19%. The United States enacted sweeping legislation to
protect whistleblowers after a series of corporate scandals, but more is needed. Since whistleblowing
plays an important role in the corporate regulatory scheme, this paper will explore policies needed for
a more effective corporate governance.
Events Leading to the Enactment of Legislation The events that led to legislative action from
Congress were the Enron and WorldCom scandals. Enron Corporation was an American energy
company based in Houston, Texas which originally was solely a natural gas provider which then
evolved into one of the world s major energy commodity traders. On August 2001, Sherron Watkins,
the Vice President of Enron at the time, alerted the then CEO Ken Lay of accounting irregularities. By
the end of November 2001, Enron shareholders filed a $40 billion lawsuit after the company s stock
price, which achieved a high of

  • 2. Facebook Case Analysis Facebook (FB) has been dominating the social network industry since its birth in 2004. It was one of the first social platforms that aimed to connect people all over the world together. FB has been successful in establishing its competitive advantage relying in its network effect and its ability to catch up with the competition. As depicted on Figure II, FB has strength points that include: its long history and its access to global markets over a short period of time, that enabled it to lock in a wide base of users that find it too costly to switch to other networks that don t provide a strong motivation for switching especially that FB has a strong ability for imitation and integration that led to a growing advertising revenue from different advertisers that find FB to be a great source of data that they can use for segmentation and targeting. FB weakness points are: its high dependency on advertising revenue, its high dependency on games applications revenue and concentration of ownership in the hands of its founder, Mr. Zuckerberg, that seems to be so innovative and successful. However, it is a reason why long term investors may worry because there is no guarantee of the continuous of the long term success given a single control over a public company. On the external trend, FB has an opportunity to increase its base of mobile users due to the increase of people logging in on the go in comparison to computer users. • 4. Functions Of The Board Of Board Governing Type I, II, And IIi The board needs to take a more active role in governing the organization. The best board are ones that implement the trifecta of board governing Type I,II, and III governing. Type I governing is fiduciary governing. In type 1 governance, data is gathered and reviewed to ensure compliance with laws and policies (Chait). Type I governing prevents waste, thefts, misuse of resources, safeguards the mission and requires trustees to operate solely in the best interest of the board (chait, Ryan , Taltoy) The board needs to ask whether and how effectively programs are advancing the mission and analyse performance measures. As part of this type of governing the league spots and debate the fiduciary significance of issues. Chait writes that Type I governing routinely examine financial and programmatic reports (chaiit). The league will review reports on a monthly basis and on a bi yearly basis do a thorough review on the budget the financial statements of the league in order to revise, amend or rework the financial strategies put in place. Type 2 governance strategically sets goals and plans courses of action. To create these strategic plans the league performs S.W.O.T analysis, reviews its stage in the organization s life cycle, and works to create a strategic plan that will achieve the desired results but will also be flexible enough to adapt to our rapidly changing world. The league is also in the habit of looking at other successful leagues and comparing them to their own as a ... In Nature of Blood by revisiting Shakespeare s Othello, Phillips focuses on discrimination, identity and desire of home through interwoven stories. The novel discusses Othello s past and present situation upon his arrival in Venice. The theme of acceptance is prominent throughout the novel. Othello s character deteriorates as he struggles with his identity and the notion of home. Othello is a general in the service of Venice. He is examined in the Shakespeare play as courageous, noble qualities, trustworthy. It is obvious to feel a degree of sympathy for Othello because he is considered an other . He is a man that is willing to accept that he is racially different, as he seems to recognize his status. I tend to sympathize with Othello because he easily influenced, insecure, and a benevolent heart for Desdemona. Othello relies heavily upon engaging with the Venetian culture and his identity as the military general. The two stories draw parallel to each other because Othello s identity is not ... Various organizations such as the National Woman s Party (those who proposed it), National Organization for Women, the Women s Department of the United Auto Workers, and many other feminists worked most if not all of their lives to pass this specific amendment. In the early 1970 s, the House approved the amendment by a large ratio of 354 to 23. Additionally, in 1972, the Senate also passed the amendment by another shocking ratio of 84 to 8. Unfortunately, the amendment did not pass by its deadline of June 30th, 1982 by only thirty five states approving it for ratification by at least thirty eight states (Schneir, 370). There were various reasons why the amendment did not pass, and Miriam Schneir discussed several of these in the section Equal Rights Amendment in the book Feminism in Our Time. The film is, despite the tremendous age gap of the two characters, is a rather sensitive love story. A film that is about people who have seen sights most people would never want to see, but need each other for emotional stability. The film introduces Leon as an ironic character, as his love for milk is visually also very ironic, in contrast to his role as a master hitman. Milk represents Leon s paternal involvement for Mathilda and his wholesomeness. Milk itself also represents those qualities such as: nurture, care and a fluid of life. It carries a symbol as a fluid of innocence, in the case of the film, it s symbolic towards both Mathilda and Leon s childhood. In many ways Leon is portrayed as an more immature figure than Mathilda. Leon is a middle aged man who does know how to read or write, and finds extraordinary pleasure from the most unornamented forms of entertainment, nor does Leon have any desires of sex or relationships. 1Leon goes by to one rule no women no children, regardless of earning 5,000$ per contract that is given to him. As a dedicated cleaner, Leon without doubt does not want change in his life, but then as Mathilda realizes that Leon s profession is a hitman, her mission becomes clear, to take revenge on Stansfield, for the death of her little brother. The music in film is The Dark Side of Time, the theme from La Femme Nikita, about a girl training to be an assassin. Mathilda desires to learn how to clean and is willing to work under Leon. Gainsborough, A Story of a Painter and an Era Essay Gainsborough, A Story of a Painter and an Era To be able to appraise the originality of eighteenth century English art, one must recognize its importance in history. A great painter to research is Thomas Gainsborough. His artwork was an important aspect of the art community of the middle seventeen hundreds. His paintings seem to bring brightness and color to a period in art that needed his creative boost. His combination of portrait paintings along with beautiful landscapes was not recognized in his time, but would be recognized as remarkable later in history. Thomas Gainsborough was born in 1727 in the town of Sudbury in Suffolk (Internet 1). He grew up as the son of a woodworking father and his mother was a teacher. He had 7 ... He was fond of drawing trees grass and other objects that would not be found in an indoor studio. He was not the first to draw backgrounds in his paintings; many have done this before him. His task was to paint a background that was just as important as the subjects do but not distract either. By painting outdoors, his paintings became much more colorful that most paintings of the past (Woodall 32). Brighter paintings were much improvement over the paintings of the past. They were very eye appealing and much more noticeable. Gainsborough s untrained painter s eye did not effect the outcome of his paintings; he was painting from his heart. He painted whatever his eyes saw; in most cases the outcome of his paintings were a perfect mix of background and foreground. People began to start noticing his artwork even though he did not have a degree or formal education in art; this was very promising to the young painter. His work slowly moved up into the great artwork of the city. His name was becoming known all around. He can begin his career with the bright colors he added to the scenery of the painting. One superb example of where the colors and scenery effected a painting is in the painting Mr. and Mrs. Andrews. In my first examination of the painting, many questions were brought up. In fact, charitable giving is the act of donating money to a certain cause, so that more people are helped overall. However, many organizations, such as the federal government, offer tax reductions while other organizations offer other perks for charitable giving. Some see incentives to charity as demeaning the virtue of selfless giving, yet these critics lose sight of the actual goal of charity: to help other people in its cause. Charity is not to allow people to think that they are more moral, but it s for the people instead. Incentivising charitable giving is not only just, but it is also warranted for the final goal of assisting as many people as possible. The 1920s was arguably one of the most important decades in American history, in regards to the impact it had on American culture and way of life. Such an important decade should have a nickname, thus the 1920s were called the Roaring 20s. Those with an assertive and manipulative personality tends to use that to their own benefit and completely disregard the impact their personality has on the surrounding people and themselves. In Ken Kesey s novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, he expresses the theme of power and manipulation through two characters, Nurse Ratched and McMurphy. Both characters use their manipulative powers for their own advantage in a deceptive way that causes the patients admitted to the asylum to suffer rather than improve. Regarding Miss Ratched, she seems to show signs of passive aggressive behavior throughout the book. This behavior adds to her manipulative ways and contributed to the decrease of the patients progress (mental/physical state). Passive aggressive behavior is used to maintain control and power because it s a way for her to not display any signs of weakness. Miss Ratched, also known as the Big Nurse to the patients, fights hard to remain as the top authority figure in the Ward due to her thirst for power. To maintain the control over the men, she emasculates them, stripping them of their masculinity, in various ways to prevent the chance of an uproar against her. Adequate consideration is a benefit or detriment, which a party receives which reasonably and fairly induces them to make the promise/contract. Successful implementation of the Pickens Plan must involve two major shifts when it comes to the U.S. energy consumption: replacing natural gas with wind power as a significant source of electricity generation and replacing oil with natural gas as far as transportation is concerned. If T. Boone Pickens Plan were to be successfully implemented, the global price of oil would decrease because the plan itself would significantly decrease the demand for oil. With a tariff on oil comes an incentive for people to reduce their use of oil and it makes the U.S. much more independent. The domestic oil industry, would highly support this because it protects our home country s producers from the competition of cheap OPEC oil imports. Producers of renewable energy sources would support the tariff because a high oil price makes alternatives to oil more attractive. Particularly, it offers a powerful reason to bring manufacturing back to North America. As shown on the graphs that I have constructed, a tariff though it may result in some dead weight losses, it nonetheless provides the incentive to reduce oil consumption and spending in this country and it also provides tax revenue. It would be plausible for the U.S. to cut off spending billions of dollars to foreign countries and spend its money and focus to move vehicles away from oil, and rely on renewable energies such as solar, wind, biofuels, which would in effect, create jobs here in the United States. The United States enacted sweeping legislation to protect whistleblowers after a series of corporate scandals, but more is needed.
