Sarcoidosis is a disease caused by inflammation happens in the lymph nodes, lungs liver, eyes, skin,

form of it is in pulmonary sarcoidosis, found in lungs, about 90 percent of cases of in the lungs. When
a person gets this disease tiny clumps, granulomas form in the affect organs in the body. Granulomas
are cluster of immune cells. When are too many granulomas form in an organ it affects how the organ

Sarcoidosis in the bones, joints, and muscles cause muscle weakness, arthritis in ankle, knees, elbows,
wrists, hand and feet. About one fourth of cases have the disease on their eyes, the signs and
symptoms are soreness, burning, itching, red eyes, sensitivity to light, dryness, and seeing black spots.
Sarcoidosis is one of the more harder disease to diagnose. This is because the signs and symptoms
sarcoidosis can mimic others diseases. Most of the time doctors find this disease by a regular chest x
ray show that something is wrong. To accurately diagnose this disease will provide with physical
exam, pulmonary function tests, measure how well your lungs are working/ how you re breathing, x
ray of lungs and chest, look for enlarge lymph nodes and glands or scar tissue in the lungs, even a
biopsy of inflamed area, CT scan, lung gallium scan, imaging of the brain and liver, and
echocardiogram of the heart.
Many sarcoidosis patients do not need treatment. Sarcoidosis most of the time heals itself. The disease
tend to spontaneously appear and disappear. When treatment is need is when sarcoidosis is in the lungs

Beer Ads Analysis Essay
1. BUD DRINKABILITY
Target audience: The advertising is aimed at young or mid aged male consumers. The two major
characters are both young men, and they talked about beer drinking occasions themed with young
people, such as parties, golf course, and pubs for cowboys.
Consumer insight: The commercial tries to deliver the message that Bud light is good for every
occasion, hinting that the consumer motivations be affiliation, i.e., friendly, sociable and wanting to fit
in.
Strategic message: In the advertisement, Bud light promises to offer a different drinkability. This
strategic message is very weak, because I didn t see any relevance between drinkability and fitting into
different occasions , making the message disconnected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the message is compelling, it is not that unique one, because a lot of other beer position as a
refreshing beer for summer time.
Advertising campaign idea: Although there is some creative idea in the ads, e.g., Coors Light Silver
Bullet Train appeared in the BBQ, I didn t see any big idea in general. I didn t gasp when I first saw it.
It can be used for several years, but since it s not unique, consumers will probably not remember it.
Execution: The commercial is the problem solution kind of ads, by showing the audience a problem
(hot weather in summer) and how Coors Light beer solved it. The execution is ok, but not impressive.
3. CORONA SKIMMING STONES
Target audience: The commercial is targeted both male and female beer drinkers with decent income
(because they can afford to travel to nice beach). They have the need to chuck away worries to live the
moment. The commercial is also targeted the critical, peak beer drinking summer season.
Consumer insight: The underlying consumer motivation is temporarily escaping from stress and
communication overload. The ad is appealing and effective to the target.
Strategic message: The benefit the brand promises is consumers can drown all the worries in couple of
Corona beer bottles in hot summer. It shows Corona s positioning of spirit of the getaway . It is
unique, ownable and compelling. It is consistent with consumer motivation of

Leadership Styles and Their Effect on CEOs
Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to analyze, compare, and contrast the leadership styles of two influential
CEOs. I have collected information from many internet sources that elaborate on the life,
achievements, and misfortunes of Jack Welch and Steve Jobs, and how they overcame their obstacles
to become the best CEOs of all time.
Leadership Styles and Their Effect on CEOs

organization in a way that makes it more cohesive. Jack Welch and Steve Jobs ... Show more content

He managed to make GE the world s second largest company with a market capitalization that was
only exceeded by Microsoft. Through hard work and perseverance Welch managed to attain legendary
status of being one of the greatest CEOs of all time.
Leadership Styles and Their Effect on CEOs
Steve Jobs was an entrepreneur, co founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple Inc. As the CEO of the
company, Jobs covered the development of the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad, and on the services side
the company s Apple Retail Stores, iTunes store, and the App store. The success of these products
under Jobs provided stable years of financial return, and propelled Apple to become the world s most
valuable publically traded company. The reinvigoration of the company is regarded by commentators
as one of the greatest turnarounds in business history (Gallo, 2011).
Jobs was a one in a billion innovator with a bulldog mentality. He created a vision and relentlessly
drove it into completion. Jobs was a demanding perfectionist who always aspired to position his
business and products at the forefront of the technology industry by understanding and setting trends
with innovation and style. His reputation was built on being a brutal force and often destroyed staff for
their bozo ideas and typically shrugged off his associates suggestions in favor of his own gut instinct.
Moreover, he only wanted what he called A players . Meaning that they had to be

History of the FBI
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was founded in 1908 when the Attorney General appointed an
anonymous force of 34 Special Agents to be investigators for the Department of Justice. Before that,
the DOJ had to borrow Agents from the U.S. Secret Service. In 1909, the Special Agent Force was
renamed the Bureau of Investigation, and after countless name changes, it became The Federal Bureau
of Investigation in 1935.
When the FBI was established, there weren t an abundance of federal crimes, so it investigated
criminal acts that dealt with national banking, bankruptcy, naturalization, antitrust, peonage, and land
fraud. In June of 1910, the FBI grew larger because the Mann Act (Made it a crime to transport

Around this time, Americans feared the invasion of Communism, which triggered the FBI to
investigate people within the U.S. whom were suspected of sabotage and undermining Democracy in
the name of Communism.
The FBI s role in fighting crime grew yet again after the Korean war. On March 14, 1950, the FBI
began its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List to further increase the FBI s capacity to capture
exceptionally dangerous criminals. Many advances in Forensic Sciences helped the FBI to become
even more capable to assist local and state law enforcement agencies to catch criminals. By this time
the number of FBI agents had made a steady climb to about 6,200, and in 1957 the FBI s budget
started to rapidly increase.
In the 1960s, civil rights and organized crime became major concerns of the FBI, and
counterterrorism, drugs, financial crime, and violent crimes in the 1970s. During the 60 s, Congress
passed many new federal laws for the FBI to combat civil rights violations, racketeering, and
gambling. Some of these new laws were the Civil Rights Acts of 1960 and 1964; the 1961 Crimes
Aboard Aircraft Act; an expanded Federal Fugitive Act; and the Sports Bribery Act of 1964. By the
end of the 1960s, the FBI had 6,703 Special Agents, 9,320 Support Personnel, and 58 field offices.
Another new FBI jurisdiction came into play when President Kennedy was assassinated. The

Film Analysis Of The Prestige By Christopher Nolan
A suspenseful tale built on illusions and trickeries, The Prestige has been established as one of the
most criminally underrated movies of the century. In this filmic masterpiece, director and writer
Christopher Nolan, plays a magic trick on the audience and misdirects the viewers, but also hides the
secret obviously in plain sight. Co written by his brother, Jonathan Nolan, and adapted from a novel
by Christopher Priest, this film is set in the nineteenth century London, and deals with an obsessive
rivalry between two magicians that are willing to sacrifice everything they have to create the ultimate
illusion. In this movie, Nolan leaves the audience guessing and gasping at its twists and unexpected
turns, with a dauntingly brilliant script, thought provoking narration, unique cinematographic details,
and a beautifully talented cast. Christopher Nolan has been acclaimed as one of the most successful
filmmakers for his non linear storytelling, labyrinthine plots, and metafictive elements, and The
Prestige illustrates all those filmmaking styles incredibly. Some movie fanatics even view this movie
as Nolan s most complex film from a narrative structure point of view. We can witness that from the
very first frame of the movie. The movie begins with a shot of several hats inexplicably scattered in a
forest, with a voiceover asking the audience Are you watching closely? . Then, Cutter (Michael Caine)
describes the three parts of a magic trick. The pledge, where the

from the opium poppy, heroin has been used as an alternative to morphine in dealing with addiction

diseases, and those that are taking medication that may contradict results in order to help minimize

study of one hundred twenty six participants. Each participant underwent a medical and drug use
history check; signed a written consent form; produced blood and urine samples; and performed
routine laboratory physical examinations (Greenwald, p. 54, 2009). Out of the one hundred twenty six

psychiatric problems, sixteen for not returning to complete the screening procedures, and three for
other reasons. This resulted in forty four subjects for the study, two of which became employed

The Minerals and Chemicals within Glass
Majority of glass used in our daily glass from jars, bottles, drinking glass and even windows are called
soda lime glass since it uses soda ashes in its production. Glass in general is mainly made out of sand.
In fact, sand alone can be fused to produce glass but it requires a high temperature which is estimated
about 1700°C for the sand to completely melt. However, to mass produce glass, other chemical and
mineral are added to lower the melting temperature to ease the production.
Sodium Carbonate (Na2CO3) also known as soda ash is mixed with sand to produce a product of 75%
silica (SiO2) and 25% sodium oxide (Na2O). This mixture will melt and fuse at a much lower
temperature of 800°C. Unfortunately, the glass produced with this composition is water soluble which
is also known as water glass. This is not suitable for glass bottle since it need to contain water so, to
stabilise the glass, other chemical substance is mixed into the composition such as calcium oxide
(CaO) and magnesium oxide (MgO). The chemical mixtures are obtained by the addition of lime stone
which produce a pure and inert glass.
The glass produced is originally colourless and transparent. Addition of different chemicals into the
production of the glass results in different colour like green blue or brown. Most of glass bottle
produced have similar composition of chemicals as their ingredients. The composition of chemicals
are 70% 74% SiO2 (silica) 12% 16% Na2O (sodium oxide) 5% 11% CaO (calcium oxide)

information for the last couple on months interning at my agency. For this self evaluation I will be
describing the1 3 and 6 9 competencies I set up at the beginning of the semester and see if I have
achieved these skills. I will also address the growth and challenges I have come upon throughout this
semester. For competency one on processional and ethical practice I wanted to demonstrate having a
professional behavior, communication, boundaries, and writing skills throughout the semester. I also
wanted to provide integrity, competence, core values, services, dignity, and worth in the agency and
my clients. In addition being aware of the mandating reporting, parental consent, and legal consent in
the school setting. I feel the growth in this competency I have gained a lot by the agency in proving
lots of training, group supervision, and individual supervision has not only broaden my skills but have
gained valuable knowledge of what to do in certain situations. For some of the challenges I encounter
at the beginning was learning about mandating reporting and how much work it goes into calling,
summiting the paperwork all this is a curial aspect when doing a CWS report. For example, when
doing my first mandated report my supervisor stayed and walk me through each step to make sure I
did it correctly which was wonderful and learned the right way to do a mandated report.

The recent development of water supply projects in the cities and townships has not met the increasing
demands of urban population and huge investment is necessary to improve water supply facilities in
the cities. 212.Water drainage Most urban centers are served by various forms of open drainage such
as ditches and street gutters. Only a small percentage has access to sewerage systems. The lack of
wastewater treatment in the cities constitutes a major health hazard during periods of storm and
flooding, when coliform and fecal pollutants from human wastes are easily spread through

Date Event
1809 First theory of evolution available
Jean Baptiste Lamarck is a French naturalist, soldier, biologist and academic. He gave out his theory
of evolution. His theory was that evolution occurred through the inheritance of developed
characteristics, or the use/disuse theory.
1831 A new world
Charles Darwin was very young and still a student, joins the journey of the HMS Beagle as a
naturalist.
1844 The First Essay
Charles Darwin was working for many years, writes an essay on the theory of evolution. Unluckily,
this was never published.
1858 Rivalry for Evolution
Alfred Russel Wallace issues a paper. The paper had some of the same assumptions as Darwin,
including natural selection. Darwin s friends present both Wallace s and Darwin s theories at the
Linnean Society.
1859 The Origin of Species
Darwin was suffering from sickness both in himself and his family, completes his book The Origin of
Species and issues it. It becomes very popular.

There are many types of massage, each with their own benefits to relieve stress, pain or enhance

Swedish Massage
Swedish massage, the most popular worldwide, is also known as Classic massage and is the
foundation for most other types of Western massage. It involves using firm but gentle pressure to
promote relaxation, working on areas of specific muscle tension. It is performed on bare skin using
oils or lotions. The therapist uses their hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers

Global Economy Is Finally Stabilizing Following The Global...
The global economy is finally stabilizing following the global financial crisis and Great Recession.
Our base case outlook for average annual real growth between 2015 and 2020 is between 3 and 4
percent Lower global commodity prices are an important factor supporting stronger economic growth.
Although economies that are dependent on commodity exports may suffer, lower input prices for
industry as well as lower fuel prices for households will provide a boost to aggregate demand and
global growth. We expect emerging economies to continue to grow by more than 4 percent
(contributing $16.2 trillion to global growth through 2020 at market exchange rates), while the growth
rate of advanced economies is forecast to exceed 2 percent (contributing $13.5 trillion through 2020)
for the first time since 2010. The United States is leading the recovery among advanced markets, and
we expect the country to be a significant contributor to global growth through 2020. However, we
anticipate economic performance to continue to diverge within both the emerging and developed
market groupings based on key policy choices, as governments grapple with structural reforms in the
context of reduced fiscal and monetary stimulus. In this regard, strong leadership and bold
government actions will determine whether national economies can escape from the new mediocre of
stable but low growth. Australia resources industry (BHP) Australia has a rich haven of resources in
the oil, gas and energy industries.

Social And Natural Resource Issues
For this week s forum, I hold the view of a normative pluralistic which relates the environmental and
natural resource issue of irreversible changes caused by negative consequences for a healthy planet.
Normative pluralism is considered not to be as radical as the belief of a fundamentalist pluralist.
Formally, a normative pluralist assumes that there is a plurality of bearers of value (Stanford
Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2011). The irreversible changes caused by negative consequences for a
healthy planet can be associated will the failure to widely produce agreements globally to tackle
environmental and natural resource issues. In the article, Global Green Pluralism, pluralistic values
discussed that support my argument are comprised of the division of labor amongst governments and
nongovernmental actors to govern the environment.
Some of the values that play a key role in the overall support the creation of an effective
environmental and/or natural resource policy to preserve the environment consist of actors/governance
components, agenda setting, networks, negotiation, compliance, implementation, and resilience. A
brief detailed description of each value is listed below.
Actors and governance components include public, private, and a civil society that engage in the
authority of regulating factors that impact the environment based on their relationships. In various
ways they are able to fulfill a host of governance over activities across their components. These

Achilles Villain
There is a fine line between a villain and hero. Not only are deeds taken into consideration, but actions
as well. Much like real life, it is never easy knowing who plays what role until the final moments of
their life. But is it fair to just take the bad moments and use them against a person? Does not the
means justify the end? Achilles had a struggle within himself as well as externally with Agamemnon.
Achilles had to decide whether he should be taken advantage of to help his city or go against his
principles to save his pride. During Achilles time, the Greeks considered him a hero due to his birth as
a demigod. He was the son of the nymph Thetis and the mortal Peleus. When Achilles was nine years
old, Calchas told him about a prophecy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His departure was not a sign of cowardice. He was trying to prove a point to Agamemnon that his
taking Briseis, Achilles war prize, was dishonorable and insulting. The battle that they had fought in
which he had taken her captive had already proven his prowess as a warrior, and because he wanted it
known that he was the greatest of the Achaean warriors and they could not triumph without him. Troy
could not fall without the help of Achilles, as prophesied by Calchas.Achilles had to make a tough
decision prior to just letting them walk into their own deaths. Agamemnon demanded that Achilles
bride and war prize Briseis be given to him. Achilles believed that the demand was unjust and

between himself and Agamemnon was as righteous as war to Achilles. Even though Agamemnon
offered to return Briseis and other numerous gifts, Achilles stays angry. This does indicate one of
Achilles flaw: excessive pride. Agamemnon may have offered gifts, but none amount to the public
insult that Achilles had suffered. Achilles would rather have his pride restored then have anything in
the world. Agamemnon also has a history of given and taken back gifts resulting in empty

Case 2 1: The Not So Wonderful World of EuroDisney Things Are Better Now at Disneyland Resort
Paris 1. What factors contributed to Euro Disney s poor performance during its first year of operation?
What factors contributed to Hong Kong Disney s poor performance during its first year? The factors
that led to Euro Disney s poor performance were the lack of understanding of the French culture,
mistaken assumptions, and ethnocentrism by the American management. Since the prices of the hotels
and entrances were different and much higher in Europe, the park attendance was low. It was actually
cheaper for European families to travel to Disney World in Orlando, FL than to EuroDisney. Eisner

There were 14 million people that visited Tokyo Disney Park the second year and 3/4th of them were
repeat customers. With these high figures and profits, Disney management had high hopes while
constructing the park in Paris. They didn t feel the need to do any research since the Japanese adapted
so well to the American customs and Disney management figured the French would be no different.
However, this was completely the opposite of what happened. The French did not accept the American
customers and a failure resulted in Paris. 6. Why do you think the experience in France didn t help
Disney avoid some of the problems in Hong Kong? First are the cultural differences. In Hong Kong,
they only considered Chinese style in the park design. Also, they still overpriced the park. They didn t
take into consideration the actual price level of the country and blindly set prices high so that visitors
could not afford, and moved on to other amusement parks. Last is the marketing. Disney management
did not market its entertainment concept. Like France, Hong Kong has their own cartoon image and
was not familiar with Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck. 7. Now that Hong Kong Disney is up and
running, will the Shanghai development benefit from the Hong Kong experience? Disney management
will know exceptionally well that doing research is the first step. Familiarize the customer base with

My Plan for the Chicago Bulls New Season
The Chicago Bulls have been in Chicago, Illinois since 1966 when they joined the NBA as an
expansion team. The Bulls took over the basketball scene in Chicago by winning games and having a
great fan base to come to games. The Chicago Bulls since when they first started playing at Chicago
Stadium dubbed Madhouse on Madison they were winning games and making it to the playoffs. The
Bulls did run into a slump stretching from 1976 till about 1989. Their slump turned around when the
Bulls hired Phil Jackson to be the new head coach after going through 6 coaches before Jackson. They
also had acquired top players such as: Michael Jordan in 1984, Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant in
1987. The Bulls were rebuilding their team and making a plan to keep them from losing revenue and
fans. The Bulls this season went 48 34 and clinched a playoff spot for the thirty third time since
joining the league in 1966. Their season came to end when they lost in game 5 at home to the
Washington Wizards. They were a healthy team at the beginning of the season when Derrick Rose
returned from being out due to knee surgery, but his return did not last long. The Bulls lost their key
player for another season after Rose injured his right knee in November of 2013, a whole year after
injuring his left knee in 2012. The Bulls also lost Luol Deng when he was traded to the Cleveland
Cavaliers for Andrew Bynum, and three future draft picks. The Bulls have struggled over the past few

Colossal Monument Essay
In Ancient Egypt , there were many influential and powerful Pharaohs from Tutankhamun (c. 1341 BC
c. 1323 BC) to Cleopatra (69 BC 10 or 12 August 30 BC). Although their methods of ruling over
Ancient Egypt is dissimilar, there is one correlation. That correspondence is the monuments that
signified their power and greatness. As I was reading about Ancient Egypt, I began to imagine myself
as a pharaoh and contemplated, If I were a pharaoh, what type of monument would I create to
represent my greatness and power? and How will it be similar or different from other ancient Egyptian

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Bileaflet Valve
Assignment 1
Part 1: Medical Device related to Human Biofluid Mechanics
St. Jude Medical Bileaflet valve
Defects in the valves of a heart can lead to regurgitation, and stenosis. Common symptoms include
angina, shortness of breaths and heart failure. These defects affect the heart functionality. As a result,
artificial heart valves are used to replace these defective valves. One artificial heart valve is the St.
Jude Bileaflet valve.
Long term studies have indicated that the St. Jude Medical mechanical heart valves demonstrates
consistent hemodynamic (flow of blood through the heart valve) performance over time. The valves
were made from silicon alloyed pyrolytic carbon due to its superior biocompatible, thromboresistant

This can be seen from the image where red blood cells and platelets are seen leaking back from the
aorta into the left ventricle. These cells are subjected to non physiological flows, leading to activation
or rupture, the first step towards initiation of the coagulation response when they flow through the
valve. Major disadvantages of mechanical heart valves include their thromboembolic tendencies
(thrombus formation), risks of blood cell damage (haemolysis), stenosis (tissue on the valve pannus)
and the life reliance of anticoagulants with the risk of haemorrhage.
Part 2: Shortcomings, and Improvements to the Device
The ideal artificial heart valve should possess qualities like good hemodynamic performance and
durability, freedom from thromboembolism, and ease of insertion.
Improvement: Thicker cuff
A thicker cuff with more intricate threads can allow a more secured grasp, positioning and alignment
of the prosthetic valve with the vessel walls as compared to a thinner cuff. The thicker cuff will also

Essay about Breaking Night
Obstacles to Overcome and Mistakes to Forgive It is fascinating when two people from completely
different backgrounds have common characteristics. A world of poverty is depicted in Liz Murray s
book Breaking Night (2010). The memoir tells the struggles of a young girl s journey from living on
the city streets to attending one of the top schools in the country. Although our lives are quite different,
Liz Murray and I show similar traits through struggle and success. Murray must over come many
struggles in her life. Thanks to her persistence, she makes it to her final goal and is able to get over
these struggles along the way. For example, Murray decides that she wants to finish high school and

The author and I both have a quality that helps us overcome difficult situations and to push through
them while others may give up. I acknowledge that the problems I face everyday may not be as severe
as Murray s; however, the idea is still the same. Another characteristic the author exhibits is
forgiveness. The struggles her parents cause her display this trait. For instance, Ma constantly neglects
Murray as a child. Drugs and alcohol consume the parent s lives, so Murray and her older sister do not
receive the proper care they need. Also, Ma frequently spent her daughter s money or sold their items
without their consent. The readers are astonished when the author says many times that she forgives
Ma and just moves on. An important scene in the story occurs when Murray looks back on her
childhood and forgives her mom for all of her wrongs, and concludes her mom did the best that she
could do. Many people would resent their parents after all the hardships they caused, and so does the
author at first. But she finds it in her heart to forgive which shows her kindness and really displays
how mature of a person she is. Although at different points in our life, Murray and I both have

Analysis Of Good Bye To All That By Joan Didion
In Joan Didion s Good Bye to All That , Didion wrote about a woman s process of pursuing her dream
which was living in New York. Throughout the passage, Didion used many rhetorical devices to
establish the storyline, which enhanced the reader s understanding of the situations. She used many
metaphors to represent the reality of the character s life and what she had hope for. She had also
foreshadowed some of the objects in the story that represented something bigger.
Didion used foreshadowing to create a dramatic traction on the outcomes of the character. The
foreshadowing were not easy to spot or understand. I was late to meet someone but I stopped at
Lexington Avenue and bought a peach and stood on the corner eating it and knew that I had ... Show

The theme is normally the message the author wants the reader to understand and take in. The theme
of the story started with this quote, From my office, I could look across town to the weather signal on
the Mutual of New York Building and the lights that alternately spelled TIME and LIFE above
Rockefeller Plaza; that pleased me obscurely, and so did walking uptown in the mauve eight o clocks
of early summer evenings and looking at things. (Pg. 6) The theme of this story is about time and life.
It took time for the character to finally realize the things she wanted in life. She thought she wanted to
live in New York and settle in. However, her time in New York wasn t the best experience she had
hope for. Her life was a mess, and she wasn t focused on the right things she was suppose to be
focusing on. Seeing the words TIME on Rockefeller Plaza, one of New York s main attraction gave
her hope again. From the beginning she believed that time would help her adapt to New York. When
she first got to New York, she was young. Being young gave her opportunities and time to find jobs
and work her way up. It took time for her to realize all the problems she had been living with. It took
time for her to realize that Los Angeles was a place she enjoyed living in in the future. New York was
a stage of time where she had to discover herself as an individual. The last sentence of the passage
showed that she was happy living in Los Angeles. There were years when I called Los Angeles the
coast, but they seem a long time ago. (Pg. 8) Normally, people living in the east coast would call Los
Angeles the coast, but it was a long time ago since she called Los Angeles the coast. This provides the
reader a hint that she had settled down in Los Angeles and have been living there for a long time. It
took her a long time to discover the life she wanted. New York wasn t the one for her. It only took time

The Holocaust Denial
Growing up, people learn about the past of their own kind and of the world they live in. One reads
history in books, hears history from parents, and studies history at schools. Knowing the history of one
s ancestors allows one to understand the past and change for a better future. Significant battles, civil
movements, and reformations teach people valuable lessons and help the society to improve. The
Holocaust, one of the most well known history events, represents a perfect historical example of
discrimination and racism. However, a number of people started to deny the known facts of the

The Holocaust was inhuman. The IMT defined crimes against humanity as murder, extermination,
enslavement, deportation...or persecutions on political, racial, or religious grounds (Trials). Murder,
extermination, persecutions all occurred during the Holocaust. Nonetheless the Nazis tried to hide
what was going on in Germany. After Soviet Union s attack in eastern Belarus, the Germans began
moving all the prisoners in every concentration camp in Europe. The Nazi did not want the public,
especially the Allies, to know the stories in these camps. They viewed these prisoners as labors and
bargain chips (Death Marches) and treated those poor men and women s lives as dust under their feet.
They kept the prisoners alive only because they were hostages , and Germans needed those labors to
work for them in order to continue fighting the war; in short, the prisoners were still useful to the
Nazis. Fortunately, no matter how hard the Germans tried to cover up their crimes, the Allies found
enough evidence for the trial after World War II. After the Allied troops captured the concentration
camps, the survivors testified and provided evidence for British officials to use on the trials of Nazi
war criminals (Testimony). The Allies sentenced the criminals guilty, executed many of the high
ranking Nazi officers, and officially ended the bloody chaos. In the last few decades, a wave of

Comparison Of Rudyard Kipling
Rudyard Kipling was born to Alice MacDonald and John Lockwood Kipling on December 30, 1865 in
Bombay, India. Most of his education took place in England where his parents were from. Before
getting into writing his own literature, Kipling was a sub editor at the CMG, The Civl and Military
Gazette. He worked for several years before beginning to write. Farther into his career as a writer and
poet, Kipling wrote the poem The White Man s Burden. In this poem, he attempts to teach readers that
you should not do what is right only for praise and glory, but instead because it is the right thing to do.
Kipling also criticizes the U.S. government for being too timid to go to war. In the song DNA. by
Kendrick Lamar, parts of the song criticize others for not taking chances and for being too scared.
Both Rudyard Kipling s The White Man s Burden and Kendrick Lamar s DNA. criticize others for
excessive timidness and their failure to take chances. In The White Man s Burden, Rudyard Kipling
attempts to teach readers the importance of doing what is right even when there is lots of hate and no
praise. In lines 19 and 20, Kipling mentions that when countries go to war for the good of their people,
they still receive lots of hate. The blame of those ye better/ The hate of those ye guard (Kipling 19,20).
This is saying that governments are often loathed by countries whom they have bested in battle and
also receive hate from the very people they were trying to help. Along with this message, Kipling also
attempts to criticize governments for being too timid and fearful of war. In line 26, Kipling writes a
line that is a little humorous but also very deep. Have done with the childish days (Kipling 26). Here,
Kipling says the way the government is so fearful and timid is a childlike quality. He believes that
they need to be much stronger and brave if they want to stay in power. Kendrick Lamar attempts to
produce a similar message to listeners in his hit song, DNA. Both Rudyard Kipling in The White Man
s Burden, and Kendrick Lamar in DNA. criticize a similar issue in society. In D.N.A, Kendrick Lamar
hopes to motivate others to take more risks and get over any fears they may have. Through this song,

The Role Of Prince Henry In The Movie Ever After
The Prince figure in all of the fairy tales has to deal with an enormous amount of pressure and
expectations throughout his life as an upcoming leader . Prince Henry s father, who is the king,
expects a great deal from him and creates the vast majority of the pressure the young prince is under.
These stressors have had a large impact on him and as a result the prince behaves in such a way as to
show rebellion from his father and his responsibilities to his kingdom. There are many instances
throughout the film that Prince Henry goes against his expectations, which is very difficult when his
whole life he has been taught he has certain duties to uphold. However it is obvious that this had a
huge effect on him and his young life. Although the life of a prince seems to be easy and carefree on
the outside, Henry is hesitant to take on the role as king due to the expectations and pressure that have
been put on him throughout his life by his father and the rest of the kingdom. In the film Ever After,

although DPN was a movement for equality and many other issues, it was a milestone in the Deaf

the pinnacle of education for deaf people, not only in the United States but throughout the world. (Van

The Transatlantic Slave Trade Between West Africa And...
Despite the limitations imposed by slavery, Africans and their descendants made substantial
contributions to American culture in agriculture, cuisine, food culture and language. As for Cultural
integration, such actions occurred during the transatlantic slave trade between West Africans and
Central Africans and the European Americans was a forced interaction that cannot be reversed. The
transatlantic slave trade in 1889, established a permanent link between Africa and North America as
Africans sold into slavery transplanted their cultures to the New World. Many assume that because
Africans integrated into American society, they completely assimilated into that culture, but such
assumptions are false. It is imperative to note that integration does not necessitate a total abandonment
of one s culture or complete assimilation into a different culture, but rather, integration embraces
modification of one s culture along with adoption of the practices of the new culture of which one is
integrating into. The African slaves integrated many things and ideas from their cultures, such as food
culture, agricultural style, and language like I spoke about earlier.
One important contribution I reflect on is the power and significance of language. Language can be
defined as the methods of communication, either spoken or written. This is how the cultural
interaction comes into play. In James Baldwin If Black English Isn t a Language, Then Tell Me, What
Is? he implies that different

The Influence Of Departmentalization On Elementary School...
Summary
A review of the research literature showed that confounding definitions related to elementary school
instructional organization, limited research, and contradictory and inconclusive findings contribute to
the difficulty of determining the impact of departmentalization on elementary school students. Also
problematic are stakeholders influences on instructional organization decisions and how these
decisions are viewed in terms of institutional factors such as rules, structures, and social and
professional norms.
Confounding definitions and misrepresentations make choices difficult, and force many school
districts to create their own definitions of terms. The failure to establish static definitions continues to
complicate the debate. Those that support the benefits of the self contained classroom site optimized
individualization, time flexibility, and coordination across content areas. The advocates of
departmentalization focus on the need for the teachers specialized knowledge for increased student
engagement and content mastery. They claim it is unrealistic to expect elementary teachers to have the
specialized knowledge that is required to facilitate instruction.
Research indicates that departmentalized instruction helps students transition to the middle school
format, and that grade level instructional teams promote teacher retention. Teacher retention is
associated with departmentalization was shown to have a positive impact on student achievement. The

Parable Of The Kingdom Of God
Jesus taught about the Kingdom of God that you must help others to enter the Kingdom through his
parables like the Good Samaritan, the Mustard Seed and the Final Judgment. As well as the
Beatitudes, the Ten Commandments and the four EREA Touchstones. The Kingdom of God is visible
in today s world through the actions of the individuals: Pope Francis and Martin Luther King Jr.
Through the use of parables, Jesus was able to teach about the Kingdom of God and what you can do
to enter the Kingdom. The parable of the Rich Fool teaches us that if you only care about yourself and
show no concern for others and God, then there is no place for you in the Kingdom of God. The
parable explains this as it tells of a man who was too attached to his wealth and no one else, that when
he died, his wealth was wasted as he cared for no one else and he couldn t enter the Kingdom. The
parable of the Good Samaritan teaches us that to enter the Kingdom you must help others no matter
who they are. The story explains this as it tells of a man who was robbed and beaten. The man is
ignored by several people who pass him and don t show any concern for him. One man approached
him and helped him and took him to get healed. This Good Samaritan would then be allowed into the
Kingdom for his actions. The parable that heavily talks of the Kingdom is the parable of the Final
Judgement which tells us that however you treat someone, you treat Jesus the same way as explained
in the line For I was hungry and

Marine Pollution In The Great Barrier Reef
What is Marine Pollution?
Marine pollution is the spreading of harmful substances into the ocean. Oil, carbonic acid and plastics
are harming the marine environment as well as the wide variety of animals and plants within. Marine
pollution is caused by many industrial and domestic activities such as oil spills, garbage dumping,
factory waste disposal and the burning of fossil fuels. A few of the main causes in the great barrier reef
are oil spills, the burning of fossil fuels and general waste.Fossil fuels affect the reefs by the carbon
dioxide from the fossil fuels accumulates in the atmosphere. As carbon dioxide enters the ocean, it
reacts with the seawater to form carbonic acid. The carbonic acid harms oysters, mussels and clams,
floating marine snail as well as the coral reefs all of which are significant to the marine food webs.
The oils spills can kill the animals or delay their reproduction, growth and development. The entire
reef ecosystem can suffer from an oil spill, affecting the many species of fish, crabs, and other marine
animals that live in and around the coral reefs.

Masculinity And Style In Hemingway And Carver
Masculinity and Style in Hemingway and Carver. The following will present the themes of
masculinity in relation to style in Raymond Carver and Ernest Hemingway. Both are major figures of
20th century US fiction, and both write about characters that struggle with male or masculine identity
and social expectations. These struggles often mean that other characters in their stories are the
victims. In other words, the problems that the characters experience, are both internalized but also
externalized toward others and this will be examined with specific author selections. It will be argued

There is workplace degradation that happens to male characters in Carver stories, and these characters
are in turn, viewed as expressing these personal frustrations on those around them (Hall 177).
Hemingway wrote extensively about a character that will be examined in the following named Nick

that gets played over and over. The character of Nick Adams like the figure of Hemingway, had to

Along with a very impressive football career, O.J. was also an actor and commentator for the NFL. He

Dan Coats Essay
The battle for the state of Indiana is usually quite set. Indiana has long been considered to be a staunch
Republican supporting state, especially in Presidential races. The Hoosier state has only supported a
Democratic candidate for president five times since 1900. These include Woodrow Wilson, Franklin
D. Roosevelt in two elections, Lyndon Johnson, and, by a mere 1% margin, Barak Obama. But, it is
also interesting to note that eleven Democrats have been elected Indiana s governor during that same
time span. On the other hand, 14 Republican presidential candidates have defeated a Democratic
candidate by double digit margins, including six times when a Republican won by more than 20%.
Historically, Republicans have been strongest in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is important because of that roughly 4.9 million people, enough voted for the Republican Daniel
Coats to return to the US Senate after a 12 year hiatus.
When trying to win any election in Indiana, candidates need to focus on the issues facing the everyday
Hoosier. Specifically, the economy and jobs in Indiana are paramount. Understandably, candidates try
to focus on Indiana s largest economic markets to get as much support as possible. For example,
Northwestern Indiana is the largest steel producing area in the U.S. Besides steel, pharmaceuticals and
medical devices reign king in central Indiana (Bureau of Labor Statistics,
http://stats.bls.gov/eag/eag.in.htm). This is largely attributed to the international headquarters and
research facilities of pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly, the state s largest corporation, residing in
Indianapolis. Similarly, the world headquarters of Mead Johnson Nutritionals is located in Evansville,
Indiana. Logically so, Indiana ranks fifth among all U.S. states in total sales and shipments of
pharmaceutical products and second highest in the number of bio pharmaceutical related jobs (Terre
Haute Economic Development Center, http://www.terrehauteareaedc.com/econ_industry.htm).
Therefore, when politicians look to pick up the work force s vote, they give special attention to these
departments. On

Comparison Of Gestures In France And America
1. Greetings
When you meet a new person in France, the polite thing to do would be to shake their hand, say hello,
and introduce yourself to everyone in the room if you had just arrived. If you were greeting a close
friend of family member you would then kiss them once on each cheek (3 kisses in South France).
Friends address each other with their first names in an informal manner like many young people do.
Adults tend to be more conservative and formal and tend to be un expressive in front of people they
don t know well. Some inappropriate conversation topics would be anything having to do with: age,
income, occupation, family, asking how much something costs, asking where something was
purchased, talking loudly, chewing gum, and calling attention to oneself.
2. Gestures Body language such as hand gestures and facial expressions is very important while
talking to the French (especially in the South). Exaggerated expressions and movements help convey
the reality of a story or explanation. Gestures in France and America are quite similar. Shrugging your
shoulders means that you don t know or you don t care. Putting up both of your hands with your palms
up illustrates helplessness or anger. And making a circle with your thumb and forefinger stands for
saying that something is okay or even perfect.

The Genius Of Fitzgerald By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Nick Drake
Ms. Howe Dr. Myhan
World Cultures
24 January 2016
The Genius of Fitzgerald In order to spot a literary genius, it is necessary for one to first define the
word literary genius. What makes a literary genius? Though a broad term that can be applied to many
situations, a literary genius can best be described as an author who has a timeless impact on literature
with themes that resonate with every kind of person. F. Scott Fitzgerald, along with several others, is
the epitome of a literary genius. Fitzgerald s works like This Side of Paradise and Tender is the Night
are both great stories and, in a deeper and more analytical context, works that reflect the reality of the
world. The world isn t in the most ideal state, and Fitzgerald knows that. From describing the
lonesome life of wealth and riches to examining how people feel about romance, Fitzgerald s works
will always be applicable to life.
In This Side of Paradise, the main character, Amory Blaine, is essentially on a quest to find values that
suit him. Throughout every aspect of life, Blaine is found repeatedly trying and failing different
methods of living. Blaine was raised in a very unconventional environment. Due to this, Blaine is seen
trying to counter this upbringing by acting in a conventional manner. This is first observed when
Blaine comes back to Beatrice after a 2 year separation. No, Beatrice. I enjoyed them. I adapted
myself to the bourgeoisie. I became conventional. (Paradise ?). With that in

Shoot-Out Analysis
Every teen has their own likes and dislikes. They are definite to what will benefit them and what will
be a detriment to them. For example, violent games can be debated on both sides. Some people
believe that it is detrimental for teens, and others believe they are exciting for them. Even though
others may be convinced that they are harmful, violent games can be beneficial. Role playing games
with simulated violence ask for teens to act out in killing others in order to win. In fact, teens should
be allowed to play these matches as they are diverting for a couple of reasons. One reason is that
violent games involve strategy and teamwork. Strategy requires you brainstorm. Therefore, you can
encounter your problem. Teamwork will ask you to get ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

video games contribute to youth violence. One person argued that it fails to contribute to youth
violence since violent video games allow players to release their stress and anger in the game, leading
to less real world aggression. In order to prove that the person s statement is right, that person showed
the results of a survey conducted by a researcher. A peer reviewed study published in the Journal of
Adolescent Health discovered that children, especially boys, play video games as a means of
managing their emotions: 61.9% of boys played to help me relax, 47.8% because it helps me forget
my problems, and 45.4% because it helps me get my anger out. Many teens play video games in order
to reduce and relieve the amount the pain they have. Even though these games are violent, they do
relieve strain and it does make people feel relaxed. Games can be enjoyable for teens who admires

The Seafarer Poem Summary
Exile, is defined as a state of being barred from one s native country. How could that even be possible;
Being kicked out of a place of inhabitance. Many say that you d have to do something unthinkable to
have a punishment as grim as exile. During the lawless time of monsters and unruly Kings, the Anglo
Saxon era of poems make that all very practical. The creators of each poem discuss the personal
endeavors of each exile and how they each come to their own acceptance, or not. The seafarer ,
Wanderer , and the Wife s Lament use various literary devices to express the emotional toil, sorrow,
and each theme of their exile.
First of all, in The Seafarer the writer discusses the internal conflicts he is having among the waves of
the sea. Even though this self chosen exile causes this man pain and sorrow, peace is not a common
entity for him while on land. The time for journeys would come and my soul/ called me eagerly out,
sent me over/ the horizon, seeking foreigners homes. (lines 36 38). The gallant mortal does not doubt
that there is no fear among his heart, but his longing for the tides is far too strong to be confined to the
dry, lifeless land. His experiences only bring him back to where he feels at home the most the sea. But
there isn t a man on earth so proud,/.../he feels no fear as the sails unfurl/.../only the ocean s heave; But
longing wraps itself around him. (lines 39 47). The way he shows his fearful arrogance is an example
again of his internal conflict.

Oceans, Hurricanes, and the Climate
SCI 209
Your Name
March 01, 2010
Introduction
Natural disasters occurring from the climate change could be on the rise. Global warming has been
rumored to be causing more hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, heavier monsoonal rains that cause major
flooding, mud slides, and other disasters worldwide. A tropical cyclone, also referred to as hurricanes,
typhoons, or cyclones, depending on where in the world the cyclone is occurring, are one of the world
s grandest shows of energy provided by nature. Hurricanes are large, swirling, low pressure storms
that have sustained winds of over 74 miles an hour and are formed over warm ocean waters (NASA,
n.d.). The purpose of this paper is to discuss hurricanes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beta drift is caused by the Coriolis Effect and tends to have more effect on the storm as it grows due
to the increased effect at higher latitudes. Other factors such as high pressure ridges, wind shear, other
hurricanes, land masses, and the jet stream also have a steering effect on hurricanes. With all the
different factors of propagation, the path a hurricane will take is very difficult to calculate.
Ocean Currents and Hurricanes Ocean currents effect hurricanes far more than hurricanes effect ocean
currents. Surface ocean currents carry the warm waters to the hurricane breeding areas and fuel the
storms with warm currents along their paths. Cold water currents also play a major role in robbing the
storms of one of their sources of fuel when hurricanes pass over the colder currents, like the ones
along the eastern U.S. border. Hurricanes with their strong winds cause huge waves, mix warm surface
waters and their currents, with the deeper cooler water. Not much is known about what happens to that
warmer water once it has been sunk into the depths of the ocean but some suggest that the heat is
transported towards the poles via ocean currents (Bettex, n.d.). The Gulf of Mexico s loop current
creates large warm water eddies in the gulf and is likely intensifying hurricanes that pass over them.
These eddies are blamed for fueling some of the worst storms ever, like Katrina and Rita ( Ocean
Motion and Surface Events , n.d.).
Hurricanes, Storm

The two major characters are both young men, and they talked about beer drinking occasions themed with young people, such as parties, golf course, and pubs for cowboys. Consumer insight: The commercial tries to deliver the message that Bud light is good for every occasion, hinting that the consumer motivations be affiliation, i.e., friendly, sociable and wanting to fit in. The execution is ok, but not impressive. 3. • 8. Film Analysis Of The Prestige By Christopher Nolan A suspenseful tale built on illusions and trickeries, The Prestige has been established as one of the most criminally underrated movies of the century. In this filmic masterpiece, director and writer Christopher Nolan, plays a magic trick on the audience and misdirects the viewers, but also hides the secret obviously in plain sight. Co written by his brother, Jonathan Nolan, and adapted from a novel by Christopher Priest, this film is set in the nineteenth century London, and deals with an obsessive rivalry between two magicians that are willing to sacrifice everything they have to create the ultimate illusion. In this movie, Nolan leaves the audience guessing and gasping at its twists and unexpected turns, with a dauntingly brilliant script, thought provoking narration, unique cinematographic details, and a beautifully talented cast. Christopher Nolan has been acclaimed as one of the most successful filmmakers for his non linear storytelling, labyrinthine plots, and metafictive elements, and The Prestige illustrates all those filmmaking styles incredibly. Some movie fanatics even view this movie as Nolan s most complex film from a narrative structure point of view. We can witness that from the very first frame of the movie. The movie begins with a shot of several hats inexplicably scattered in a forest, with a voiceover asking the audience Are you watching closely? . • 12. The Minerals and Chemicals within Glass Majority of glass used in our daily glass from jars, bottles, drinking glass and even windows are called soda lime glass since it uses soda ashes in its production. Glass in general is mainly made out of sand. In fact, sand alone can be fused to produce glass but it requires a high temperature which is estimated about 1700°C for the sand to completely melt. However, to mass produce glass, other chemical and mineral are added to lower the melting temperature to ease the production. Sodium Carbonate (Na2CO3) also known as soda ash is mixed with sand to produce a product of 75% silica (SiO2) and 25% sodium oxide (Na2O). This mixture will melt and fuse at a much lower temperature of 800°C. Unfortunately, the glass produced with this composition is water soluble which is also known as water glass. This is not suitable for glass bottle since it need to contain water so, to stabilise the glass, other chemical substance is mixed into the composition such as calcium oxide (CaO) and magnesium oxide (MgO). The chemical mixtures are obtained by the addition of lime stone which produce a pure and inert glass. The glass produced is originally colourless and transparent. Addition of different chemicals into the production of the glass results in different colour like green blue or brown. Most of glass bottle produced have similar composition of chemicals as their ingredients. Our base case outlook for average annual real growth between 2015 and 2020 is between 3 and 4 percent Lower global commodity prices are an important factor supporting stronger economic growth. Although economies that are dependent on commodity exports may suffer, lower input prices for industry as well as lower fuel prices for households will provide a boost to aggregate demand and global growth. We expect emerging economies to continue to grow by more than 4 percent (contributing $16.2 trillion to global growth through 2020 at market exchange rates), while the growth rate of advanced economies is forecast to exceed 2 percent (contributing $13.5 trillion through 2020) for the first time since 2010. The United States is leading the recovery among advanced markets, and we expect the country to be a significant contributor to global growth through 2020. However, we anticipate economic performance to continue to diverge within both the emerging and developed market groupings based on key policy choices, as governments grapple with structural reforms in the context of reduced fiscal and monetary stimulus. In this regard, strong leadership and bold government actions will determine whether national economies can escape from the new mediocre of stable but low growth. Social And Natural Resource Issues For this week s forum, I hold the view of a normative pluralistic which relates the environmental and natural resource issue of irreversible changes caused by negative consequences for a healthy planet. Normative pluralism is considered not to be as radical as the belief of a fundamentalist pluralist. Formally, a normative pluralist assumes that there is a plurality of bearers of value (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2011). The irreversible changes caused by negative consequences for a healthy planet can be associated will the failure to widely produce agreements globally to tackle environmental and natural resource issues. Much like real life, it is never easy knowing who plays what role until the final moments of their life. But is it fair to just take the bad moments and use them against a person? Does not the means justify the end? Achilles had a struggle within himself as well as externally with Agamemnon. Achilles had to decide whether he should be taken advantage of to help his city or go against his principles to save his pride. In lines 19 and 20, Kipling mentions that when countries go to war for the good of their people, they still receive lots of hate. The blame of those ye better/ The hate of those ye guard (Kipling 19,20). This is saying that governments are often loathed by countries whom they have bested in battle and also receive hate from the very people they were trying to help. • 37. Marine Pollution In The Great Barrier Reef What is Marine Pollution? Marine pollution is the spreading of harmful substances into the ocean. Oil, carbonic acid and plastics are harming the marine environment as well as the wide variety of animals and plants within. Marine pollution is caused by many industrial and domestic activities such as oil spills, garbage dumping, factory waste disposal and the burning of fossil fuels. A few of the main causes in the great barrier reef are oil spills, the burning of fossil fuels and general waste.Fossil fuels affect the reefs by the carbon dioxide from the fossil fuels accumulates in the atmosphere. As carbon dioxide enters the ocean, it reacts with the seawater to form carbonic acid. The carbonic acid harms oysters, mussels and clams, floating marine snail as well as the coral reefs all of which are significant to the marine food webs. The oils spills can kill the animals or delay their reproduction, growth and development. The entire reef ecosystem can suffer from an oil spill, affecting the many species of fish, crabs, and other marine animals that live in and around the coral reefs. In other words, the problems that the characters experience, are both internalized but also externalized toward others and this will be examined with specific author selections. The Hoosier state has only supported a Democratic candidate for president five times since 1900. These include Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Understandably, candidates try to focus on Indiana s largest economic markets to get as much support as possible. For example, Northwestern Indiana is the largest steel producing area in the U.S. Besides steel, pharmaceuticals and medical devices reign king in central Indiana (Bureau of Labor Statistics, http://stats.bls.gov/eag/eag.in.htm). This is largely attributed to the international headquarters and research facilities of pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly, the state s largest corporation, residing in Indianapolis. • 44. Comparison Of Gestures In France And America 1. Greetings When you meet a new person in France, the polite thing to do would be to shake their hand, say hello, and introduce yourself to everyone in the room if you had just arrived. If you were greeting a close friend of family member you would then kiss them once on each cheek (3 kisses in South France). Friends address each other with their first names in an informal manner like many young people do. Adults tend to be more conservative and formal and tend to be un expressive in front of people they don t know well. Some inappropriate conversation topics would be anything having to do with: age, income, occupation, family, asking how much something costs, asking where something was purchased, talking loudly, chewing gum, and calling attention to oneself. 2. Gestures Body language such as hand gestures and facial expressions is very important while talking to the French (especially in the South). Exaggerated expressions and movements help convey the reality of a story or explanation. Gestures in France and America are quite similar. Shrugging your shoulders means that you don t know or you don t care. Putting up both of your hands with your palms up illustrates helplessness or anger. • 47. The Seafarer Poem Summary Exile, is defined as a state of being barred from one s native country. How could that even be possible; Being kicked out of a place of inhabitance. Many say that you d have to do something unthinkable to have a punishment as grim as exile. During the lawless time of monsters and unruly Kings, the Anglo Saxon era of poems make that all very practical. The creators of each poem discuss the personal endeavors of each exile and how they each come to their own acceptance, or not. The seafarer , Wanderer , and the Wife s Lament use various literary devices to express the emotional toil, sorrow, and each theme of their exile. First of all, in The Seafarer the writer discusses the internal conflicts he is having among the waves of the sea. Even though this self chosen exile causes this man pain and sorrow, peace is not a common entity for him while on land. The time for journeys would come and my soul/ called me eagerly out, sent me over/ the horizon, seeking foreigners homes. (lines 36 38). His experiences only bring him back to where he feels at home the most the sea. Beta drift is caused by the Coriolis Effect and tends to have more effect on the storm as it grows due to the increased effect at higher latitudes. Other factors such as high pressure ridges, wind shear, other hurricanes, land masses, and the jet stream also have a steering effect on hurricanes. With all the different factors of propagation, the path a hurricane will take is very difficult to calculate. Ocean Currents and Hurricanes Ocean currents effect hurricanes far more than hurricanes effect ocean currents. Surface ocean currents carry the warm waters to the hurricane breeding areas and fuel the storms with warm currents along their paths. Cold water currents also play a major role in robbing the storms of one of their sources of fuel when hurricanes pass over the colder currents, like the ones along the eastern U.S. border. Hurricanes with their strong winds cause huge waves, mix warm surface waters and their currents, with the deeper cooler water. Not much is known about what happens to that warmer water once it has been sunk into the depths of the ocean but some suggest that the heat is transported towards the poles via ocean currents (Bettex, n.d.). The Gulf of Mexico s loop current creates large warm water eddies in the gulf and is likely intensifying hurricanes that pass over them. These eddies are blamed for fueling some of the worst storms ever, like Katrina and Rita ( Ocean Motion and Surface Events , n.d.). Hurricanes, Storm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
