Rio Grande Research Paper
Water in Big Bend National Park
There are five rivers in Big Bend National Park: Rio Grande, Santa Elena Canyon, Mariscal
Canyon, Boquillas Canyon, and Lower Canyons (NPS). The biggest one is the Rio Grande;
which is best known as Rio Bravo. This river is located in Brewster County between Mexico and
United State border (N.p., n.d. Web.). The Rio Grande has a problem with a lacking of water,
which increased the potential for water quality degradation and toxic chemical contamination; the
cause of this problem it s because of the growth of maquiladora plants (N.p., n.d. Web.). The Rio
Grande doesn t affect the park, but basically, the researchers believe that the river upstream was
affected by the park. In Big Bend National Park, researchers

The Development Of Diabetes Mellitus
Specific cells of the pancreas produce a hormone called insulin to correct metabolism. Without
this hormone, glucose cannot enter body cells and blood glucose levels rise. As a result, the
individual
may begin to experience symptoms of hyperglycemia. Plainly expressed, this process is the
development of diabetes mellitus. Numbers have increased in recent years because so many
Americans are overweight. Also, testing accuracy has improved, therefore confirming more cases.
The
number of people with diabetes is expected to double as more people live to middle and old age.
There
are a few different classifications of Diabetes. Two of the common ones are: *Type 1(Formerly

as type I; insulin dependent diabetes mellitus[IDDM]; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This buildup of glucose in the blood is called hyperglycemia. The body is unable to use the
glucose for energy. This leads to the symptoms of type 1 diabetes.
The exact cause of type 1 diabetes is unknown. Most likely it is an autoimmune disorder. This is a
condition that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body
tissue. With type 1 diabetes, an infection or another trigger causes the body to mistakenly attack
the cells in the pancreas that make insulin. The tendency to develop autoimmune diseases,
including type 1 diabetes, is hereditary. (Wisse, MD, 2015) The following symptoms may be the
first signs of type 1 diabetes. Or they may occur when blood sugar is high: being very thirsty,
feeling hungry ,feeling tired all the time ,having blurry eyesight, feeling numbness or tingling in
your feet, losing weight without trying, urinating more often (including urinating at night or bed
wetting in children who were dry overnight before) For other people, these serious warning
symptoms may be the first signs of type 1 diabetes. Or, they may happen when blood sugar is very
high (diabetic ketoacidosis): deep, rapid breathing, dry skin and mouth, flushed face, fruity breath
odor, nausea or vomiting; inability to keep down fluids, stomach pain.
Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can develop quickly in people with diabetes who are taking
insulin. Symptoms usually appear when a person s blood sugar level falls

Breitbart News Report
The media has been around since the days of the printing press, to modern times where the vast
network of the internet is a crucial part of everyday life. The news became popular because
people want to be informed of what happens in their everyday life. Over the years, it has greatly
changed and evolved. As time moved forward and technology improved, it became easier and
faster to spread newsand events around the world; data of information could be looked up in an
instant because of innovations like computers and smartphones. Unfortunately, at the same time, it
became simple to create fake news and manipulate the general public. Nowadays, fraudulent or

News writing is made to inform others with the truth. However, humans are naturally a greedy
species. We always want more; this goes with power and wealth. As a result, the art of journalism
can sometimes be tarnished to make a quick profit. Eye opening headlines with false or
irrelevant information are becoming more common. Some writers even disobey writing ethics
by unfactual and biased stories, otherwise known as fake news . There are other examples but in
the end, viewership is needed so writers spice up their articles in any way, shape or form to get
their money. Some are written well enough to look like legitimate news articles; many people can
easily be fooled and believe whatever they read. That is why it is important to understand the
dilemma of the prevalence of fake news today. People should be cautious and hesitant, and try to
understand the full concept or picture when it comes to reading news

Organizational leaders, investors and creditors should understand how to calculate key financial
ratios and their importance in analyzing the financial pulse of a firm. What does the term variance
analysis mean when applied of financial performance of health care organizations? The process of
portfolio selection that assumes that every rational investor, at a given level of risk, will accept
only the largest expected return. More specifically, mean variance analysis attempts to account for
risk and expected return mathematically to help the investor find a portfolio with the maximum
return for the minimum about of risk. Business information (BI) systems establish an automated
framework for making decisions. Effective BI systems provide a common platform and language
for key decision makers in an organization. Applications bring analytics and performance
management to health care. This insight gives management consultants the ability to gain insights
into the employees, management and business partners of any health care organization. For health
care this means increased revenue, reduced costs and less risk due to higher industry compliance
standards which translates into a more efficient experience for both health care professionals and
patients alike. From revenues to expenses, BI allows for detailed analysis of cash flow statements
and an efficient platform for comparing planned results to actual

College Free Tuition Should Not Be Free
College Free Tuition Education is one of the best ways to succeed; however not everyone has
access to it and not everyone has the opportunity to have a degree. After high school a lot of
students drop out because the college tuitions are too expensive; they can t afford them. A couple
weeks ago, president Obama came with a proposition in which to make community collegefree for
students because more jobs will require a degree in the future. The program will concern the
students who are serious. It means, in order to qualify, the students have to maintain a 2.5 grade
point average C+, and they have to be full time and be able to transfer to a 4 years college. Other
people believe that community collegeshould not be free because of the following reasons; the
program extends the welfare and encourages people to depend on government and not everyone
needs to go to college. A study of the arguments will show that community college education
should be free. According to Linda Conner Lambeck article, The job expectation in the coming
years will require at least an associate s degree are projected to grow twice as fast as jobs
requiring no college experience. The United States needs more college graduates in other to
improve the economy. So making the community college free for students it is one of the best
ways to start growing the economy. If in upcoming years the country doesn t have enough of

Depression is a mood disorder which causes persistent feelings of sadness and loss of interest;
affecting how you feel, think, behave and can ultimately lead to a variety of emotional and
physical problems. Depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the United States.
In 2014, around 15.7 million adults age 18 or older in the U.S. had experienced at least one
major depressive episode in the last year, which represented 6.7 percent of all American adults.
At any point in time, 3 to 5 percent of adults suffer from major depression; the lifetime risk is

Igbo s Culture Comparison In West Africa
CULTURE COMPARISON IN NIGERIA WITHIN THREE IGBO SPEAKING LANDS AND

3 known ethnic groups, igbo s, Hausa s , and the Yoruba s. The igbo s (Biafrans) are known as
Christians, the hausa s are known as muslims and the yoruba s are mixed Christians and muslims.
However in this three ethnic groups there s so much cultural, language and morality differences.
But in this project, I will focus more on the within language, cultural history of the igbo s (ndi

Everything roots from the family unit and this can t be ignored. Yoruba families are, like most
african families, dominated by the father. Where the difference lies is the children have a
relationship with their father that emphasis love. The dynamic between love and respect are the
differences between the two groups. Children call their father by gentle names and there s a
rigorous amount of cultural niceties and traditions that children are to learn when interacting
with adults. Igbo: Family life is also the foundation of Igbo culture. More so than Yoruba culture
is the power the father has over the family. Igbo fathers emphasis respect more than love though
I wouldn t say the love is more or less in the cultures. It s more common for igbo children to call
their father s more authoritative names like sir, and culturally there s an element of respective
distance. I ve seen yoruba families eat from the same plate and children sitting among adults
while they speak. In Igbo culture if you wish to eat with your father, you eat from his plate, but
he will not leave where he s at to eat from the child s plate. Typically fathers are served separate
from children, and as children become youths they chose to eat separately from those not in their
age group. Igbo adults are also insulted by children that don t leave the area when adults are
talking. Affection is more the job of the mother than the father, and it s the father s role to teach the

Customer Personality And The Product Selection Process Essay
Market segmentation is a marketing tool that divides a large heterogeneous market into smaller
homogeneous subsets of consumers with similar needs, wants and characteristics. Researchers
might be able to predict customer s behavior by studying if there are any relations between
customer s personality and the product selection process. A key success for any business is to
communicate with its customers better than competitors by understanding who its customers are
and what they want. The more precisely costumers are segmented, the easier a business will
understand its customers and build successful relationship with them because customers usually
choose a product that expresses their personality. The market can be segmented by different types
of segmentations such as demographic, geographic and psychographic. Marks Spencer uses
demographic segmentation to target customers above the age of 30 with high income and executive
occupation. It also segments the market through value, as many products in M S s clothing range
have a premium priced segment, a mid priced segment and a lower price segment. Brandpersonality
is a set of features and human characteristics that is associated with the brand. As one of the most
important promotion tools, it will attract the target audience s attention. A brand personality that is
well defined will lead to customer trust, emotional attachment and loyalty. Better communications
between a customer and product is one of the results of brand

others prefer electric shavers.
Unfortunately, there is no one perfect razor for every man or woman on the planet. There are
always going to be drawbacks or perks of each individual shaver and it is up to the user to
determine whether or not this matters to them. In fact, certain razors work best for specific hair
types and ethnicities. Because of this, it is important to choose the best electric shaver for black

However, this is for good reason. The Pulsonic is one of the most popular and well built shavers

different modes for individual users, from sensitive to intensive. For those that suffer from razor
burn often, changing the mode to sensitive can be the difference between a smooth shave or a

Disability Rights Movement Essay
While the exact origin of the disability rights movement can be debated, some historians concur that
the movement began in 1817 when The American School of the Deaf launched in Hartford,
Connecticut became the first educational institutional to use sign language and take care of people
with disabilities. Apart from the mission to educate, the goal of the school was to foster self
sufficiency.

The Impact Of Digital Technology On Society
With new technical breakthroughs happening every minute, technology is advancing far beyond
our imagination. The internet has become increasingly accessible with new smartphones and
smart devices, and with them came new social media applications. Social media has now
become a large factor in the lives of many people across the globe as a means of finding and
distributing information. People spend more and more time on the internet, and less time having
face to face human interactions. Instead of human interactions and networking, popularity and
social status is now based on friends on Facebook, followers on Twitter, and Instagram likes .
The lack of meaningful social interactions has caused an increase in mental health issues such as
social anxiety and depression, and adversely impacts human society. Digital technology
negatively affects happiness because it causes loneliness, mental illness and a disconnection from
the real world. Social platforms negatively affect happiness because it causes loneliness. As
social media becomes more pronounced in our daily lives, the further apart we grow from each
other physically and the closer we become on the internet. A person might have 2,000 friends on
Facebook but in reality has no real friends to connect with on a more personal level. The phrase,
your real friends, captures the anxieties that social media have produced: the fears that Facebook
along with other social media platforms is interfering with our real friendships,

Crime And The Crimes Of Crime Essay
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2006) crime is defined as an offence punishable
by the State on behalf of the general public whose standards do not permit the offending behaviour.
Whilst countless studies have been conducted over the years surrounding crime and the committing
of crimes by individuals , there has also long been debate surrounding whether or not crimeis
gendered and if so, to what extent. Over the decades a number of studies have been conducted in
order to answer this question, with significantly varying results uncovered. Whilst some studies,
including those by Darrell Steffensmeier and Emilie Allan (1996) and Jennifer Schwartz and
Darrell Steffensmeier (2008) have found that genderplays a significant role in the committing of
crimes, other studies including that of Kenneth Polk (1993) have found that the prevalence of
gender differences in crimes is reliant on the nature of the crime itself.
According to Frances Heidensohn (1985), gender appears to be the single most crucial variable
associated with criminality (p.22). In agreement with this statement, Steffensmeier and Allan (1996)
highlighted in Gender and Crime: Toward a gendered Theory of Female Offending , that
worldwide criminologists agree that the gender gap within offenders of crime is universal, in that
men are always more likely to commit a criminal act than women. However, Steffensmeier and
Allan (1996) s research also highlighted discrepancies between the opinions of

Minor Characters In The Film Strictly Ballroom
In the film, Strictly Ballroom, there are many topics that can be explored. The topic/statement
that I will be discussing is: Perhaps the films greatest treasure is its cast of minor and other
characters, each of whom is a gem of observation and performance. With their plastic faces and
hired hair and their deluding sense of self importance, they convey an almost pathetic conviction
that all their actions are for the greater good. Of the minor characters to choose from I have
selected Barry Fife, Liz Holt and Shirley Hastings.
The first character we will be analysing is Barry Fife. This character is a very superficial, self
absorbed as well as overly obsessed with his appearance. During the course of strictly Ballroom
we notice that Barry wears a lot of blue which helps portray his cold, uninvolved emotional state.
He firmly believes that his way is the right way and shows us this by the video he makes which
is aptly titled only way to dance . His arrogance is revealed when he makes a statement saying,
Dance any steps you want, but you won t win. This statement shows us that he believes he holds
all the power and is the dominant figure in the ballroom dancing community. Barry seems to only

Pursuit Of Knowledge In Frankenstein
In the gothic novel, Frankenstein, written in 1818, author Mary Shelley tells a blood chilling story
of Victor Frankenstein and his monstrous creation. Many of the main concepts in the Romantic
literary movement are prevalent throughout the novel. Some of these concepts include nature as
beauty and truth, strong personal motivation, and gothicism which inhibits intense emotion and
complex psychology. Victor s monstrous creation can be categorized as a romantic hero because
of his continuous rejection from all forms of society. On the surface level the novel is of suspense

Channel Mediated Diffusion Essay
Diffusion is categorized as passive transport in which atoms or molecules are moved, often through
a cell membrane, from a higher to a lower concentration. This process involves the spreading of the
solute, which ultimately results in the removal of a concentration gradient (Kate T. et al. 2015).
Typically, there are two types of diffusionacross a cell membrane: simple or channel mediated.
Simple diffusion occurs when molecules diffuse easily through the membrane; whereas channel
mediated diffusion occurs when molecules pass through the membrane via protein channels often
due to their size or electrical force. There are several factors which can affect the rate and
capability of diffusion such as molecule and gradient size, temperature and electrical forces. For
example, more extreme temperatures result in a slower rate of diffusion. Thus diffusion at room
temperature occurs at a much more rapid rate than would diffusion at an extremely low
temperature. Typically, the higher the temperature, the more rapid the rate of... Show more content

of political culture. First off liberalism; liberalism is a way of political worldview by the ideas of
liberty and equality. Although in a certain time in our history equality was somewhat of a lie.
Slavery, racism, and feminism prove that not every single person on the planet had equal rights. In
the 1650 s to 1780 s western Europe had people that were thinking of ways to enlighten the people
and bring change to the world they all live in, called the Age of Enlightenment. Mostly philosophers
emphasized reason, analysis, and individualism. People like... Show more content on

There are liberal liberals, conservative liberals, and radical liberals. Which mostly all follow the
basic structure of liberalism. For example liberal liberals believe that for social safety people need
help to feed their families and take care of themselves because not everyone can make it in this
world and put food in peoples mouths, afford medical insurance, civilized people try to help
each other, not leave them starving and without care. On the conservative side, there views are
that people should be responsible for themselves, if they are given the chance they are completely
capable of supporting themselves and their families. They also believe that if government always
picks up and pampers the poor or needy, they will be weak and lose their motivation to work. For
money, taxes, and the part that the government plays; the conservatives believe that government
should serve the people. Not the other way around. The liberals say that the proper function of a
government is to solve issues, decrease poverty, protect civil rights and liberties. And to make sure
that all Americans have a fair chance to succeed.
The dimensions of the ideology of liberalism are political and economic liberalism. Political
liberalism underlines the social contract. Where citizens can make laws and agree to follow those
laws. Most people believe that individuals know what is best for them. Also it allows people to
represent themselves without the need to worry

The Theme Of Themes In William Shakespeare s Macbeth
The play Macbeth is brilliantly written by William Shakespeare. There are a lot of themes in the
play that goes on and teaches about the ambition, the guilt, the fate versus free will concept and
how things are not what they seem. All of those factor into how Macbeth is a very interesting and
very captivating story.
Shortly after Macbeth hears the prophecies of him becoming the Thane of Cawdor and the King of
Scotland, and after becoming the Thane of Cawdor a few moments later, he writes a letter to Lady
Macbeth about what he is thinking, which at the time is how he wants to do away with King
Duncan. ... the fatal entrance of Duncan under my battlements. Come, you spirits that tend on

When Macbeth meets with the three witches to hear prophecies about his future there is one
prophecy that isn t what it seems. The third apparition that speaks to Macbeth says; Macbeth
shall never be vanquished be until Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill shall come against
him (IV. i. 92 94). Macbeth immediately thinks of it literally. Believes that he will only be
defeated if the actual woods come up against him. Which we know by the end that people use the
sticks and twigs to disguise themselves against Macbeth to make it seem that the woods are
moving. When Banquo and Macbeth first leave the battle, they met the three witches. There
Banquo says; You should be women, and yet your beards forbid me to interpret that you are so (I.
iii. 45 47). Banquo doesn t quite know what the witches are and eventually finds out that they re
witches.
When Macbeth becomes the Thane of Cawdor and turns out that one prophecy is true he starts
to question whether or not if he has to do something to become King, or if fate will grant him
King. If fate wants me to be king, perhaps fate will just make it happen and I won t have to do
anything (I. iii. 146 148). He starts to think that maybe he will become king out of circumstance,
but as we know he kills Duncan to become king. Then later when Macbeth is talking to the
murders about killing Banquo he says; To leave no rubs or botches in the work Fleance, his son,
that keeps him

Great Palace In Constantinople Analysis
The second mosaic image from the Great Palace in Constantinople (500AD) is a very absorbing
piece that brings up many questions when you first look at it. Because Constantinople had a
strong tie with Chariot Racing, specifically at the Circus of Constantinople in the 6th century, it
can be assumed that this image has a connection to that. The first link is the two legs that look
like horse hooves in the top right area of the image, although you cannot tell for sure because the
image is cut off. Another association is the palm branches off to the right, which were a staple in
Chariot races as one of the prizes the victors would be able to hold and wear. The fact that there
is a lot of empty space in the middle signifies that this place had an area which the horses would be
able to run the races.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The wheels the two males are pushing or moving in the image could very well be chariot wheels,
and it is also a possibility that the man on the right is wheeling out replacement wheels as the
one on the left is taking in the damaged ones, or perhaps the man on the right is wheeling out
something to bring back the charioteers body on. Although there is certainly more evidence for
helpers on the track that assisted in clearing up crashes, which this definitely could be an example
of, I don t think that we should discredit the fact that this could also be men assisting in a wheel
change, similarly to what happens in Formula One Racing, and the post could have very likely
been a station that held each racers replacement parts. This is the main struggle when interpreting
images such as these with no real inscriptions and pieces missing. One can never truly know what
exactly an image is showing, and there could be many variables as to what the artist was trying to

Mlk Civil Disobedience
MLK s Civil Disobedience in Todays World In Martin Luther King, Jr. s Letter from Birmingham
Jail, he discusses the duty of citizens to enact civil disobedience when there are immoral actions or
laws put into place. In accordance with Martin Luther King, Jr. this concept applies to our society
today with the recent presidential election of the United Statesof America. As Donald Trump has
been elected the President of the United States, there have been various acts of civil disobedience
because millions of individuals do not support him in his presidency. Along with this topic, there
are two distinct questions that need to be answered. First, what is civil disobedience in the eyes of
Martin Luther King, Jr.? Second, are Donald Trump protests... Show more content on

This has been a massive concern for many anti Trump protestors because they believe that
Hillary Clinton should have won because she won the popular vote. Even though Clinton won
the popular vote, Trump won the Electoral College, which is why he was elected President of the
United States. As King stated, We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a
single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. (King, 1963). This
quote applies perfectly for our countries current status because all of the voters who do not
support Trump are tied to him and his decisions for the next four years. With King s view of civil
disobedience, these protestors are not justified in their protesting of Trump because a process that
has been used for hundreds of years elected him legally. In order for these protestors to civilly
disobey in unison with King s views, they must protest the Electoral College and not the man that
the Electoral College elected. Individuals may not agree with Trump being elected, but until he
advocates an immoral political action they must not protest against him directly. Part of King s
beliefs includes him being a Christian and obeying the laws of the land. For anybody who is
elected legally to become President of the United States, those that follow King s views are
subject to obeying the governing authority as they are in accordance with the laws of God. As
King states in his letter, A just law is a man made code that squares with the moral law, or the law
of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. (King, 1963). This
means that it is not justified for anti Trump protestors to protest out of anger that their candidate of
the popular vote did not win because it is in accordance with the authority of the government, which
has been in place for

Women s Education During The Middle East
No area of Saudi society has been liable to a larger number of debates than the women and their
role in the advancement process. Besides, women rights and obligations issues have been similarly
controversial among both conservatives and progressives in Saudi society. Before tackling women
education movement in Saudi Arabia, it is important to go over some of the social and political
incidents that have shaped Saudi women position. In the previous 50 years the Middle Easthas faced
some real difficulties that have influenced all Middle Eastern countries and especially the Golf
countries. Saudi Arabia, as other Gulf countries has encountered some real social changes. Most
importantly, the discovery of oil in 1930s was a noteworthy event in the nation. The oil created
income in the mid 1970s presented substantial scale changes, including the opening of many
schools to both young men and women. The financial change emerging from the huge income from
oil offered ascend to a trend towards education abroad, and an adjustment in way of life, and these
two changes influenced the entire structure of society (Yamani, 1996). Oil and its subsequent
wealth unimaginably affected Saudi Arabia in a short period of time.
Saudi Arabia started oil s production in 1970 and the foundation of ARAMCO (Arabian American

Jorge Lima s Ted Talk Speech
The circle of life has continued. Something has died, and now something new must take its place.
In this case, that something is the ancient metaphor of the tree, but what is the something new?
Manuel Lima believes that he has discovered a new metaphor that is on the horizon. In Lima s
TED Talk speech A Visual History of Human Knowledge
, Lima discusses the metaphor of the tree
of knowledge and how it connects all things. Lima s primary concern is that this picture is outdated
and offers a new alternative: the network. Lima is correct that the metaphor of the tree is outdated;
however, the network is not a sufficient replacement. The metaphor is lacking in many areas
ranging from showcasing accurate connections to fulfilling the basic purposes of a metaphor. Lima
begins his speech by analyzing the ways humans have been organizing information throughout the
centuries. He discusses the origins of the tree metaphor to describe the wealth of information that
was being discovered at that time and how the metaphor essentially took the world by storm. He
provided examples of the tree in instances ranging from family lineage to Darwin s Tree of Life ;
however, Lima has come to the conclusion that the tree is outdated, and society is beggingfor a new,
more accurate representation of knowledge and being. He states that nowadays we are really facing
new complex, intricate challenges that cannot be understood by simply employing a simple tree
diagram (Lima). With all

Emily Dickinson And Walt Whitman
Steve Jobs advised students that, Your time is limited, so don t waste it living someone else s
life. Don t be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other people s thinking. Don t
let the noise of other s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the
courage to follow your heart and intuition... ( You ve Got to Find What You Love ). Job explains
to the Graduates of the Stanford Class of 2005, that in order to be successful one must assert their
unique personality, one must stand up for what they believe in, and one must create their own
perspective of the world. In life, a choice has to be made, to take a stand for what you think is
right, or sit passively and listen as peers debate, Job recommending the former. Emily Dickinsonand
Walt Whitmanagree that living life in a passive manner is not acceptable. The standard of asserting
oneself is seen through Walt Whitman s poem, To a Pupil, in Paul Schutze s photograph Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr., as well as in biographical information about Dickinson and Whitman;
however, Dickinson claims in her poem, I m Nobody! Who are you? that on occasions, it is okay
to stay out of the spotlight.
Whitman and Dickinson embraced the idea of nonconformity and taking a stance for their beliefs
in their day to day lives. According to The Academy of Authors, during the second year of the Civil
War, Whitman would spend any excess money he had nursing injured soldiers ( Poet Walt Whitman

Violent Video Games And Its Potential Effects
Violent contents within video games have become rampant especially amongst adolescents. At the
same time, with the growing number of users being exposed to these games, it becomes crucial to
research the potential threats which emerge from playing these games. What many may not realize
is that research does assert how the violent contents within video games may lead to aggression,
possibly from arousal and being desensitized to real violence. Whilst other researchers argue that
the relationship between violent video games and desensitization to real violence is not causal
and how other factors such as family violence, one s development and genetic tendencies and one
s perception of violence may lead to one committing aggression or violence. This paper discusses
such claims and analyzes both sides of the spectrum to see if this relationship is causal or external
factors may be involved.
Exposure to Violent Video Games and Its Potential Effects in Leading to Violence or Aggression As
the video game industry is continuing to grow, over the last thirty years, more and more kids are

The Cost Of The United States
An increase in the number of vacation days or limiting the hours worked in a week by the
government may increase the quality of life by providing more leisure time. However, the overall
quality of life would struggle because in this day and age one has to have money to have a good
time. Recently after much debate, the French eliminated their 35 hour workweek limit with strong
justifiable arguments by both parties. The law was first put in place in 2000 due impart to the
unemployment rate that was around 10% at the time. Ideally with shorter workweeks companies
would have to hire more employees to maintain current outputs. Although, in recent years it has
become apparent that instead of lowering the unemployment rate, it has remained near... Show more

Despite having an extremely productive American companies are hesitant to open factories in
France when they may have to pay workers more than they would in America because of operating

hours. With companies paying less overtime more foreign investments would be made creating
jobs and lowering unemployment would increase the quality of life as a nation as with greater
disposable income the quality leisure time itself would rise.
Ethical Hazards
While agreeing that with the elimination of the law, restrictions should still be enforced to protect
workers from exploitation by their employers. Giving companies more of an edge in their
industries by tampering with the workweek hours could become a slippery slop. The 35 hour
week was not just 35 hours and everyone goes home it s like the standard 40 hour week the United
States recognizes. After the 35 hours overtime pay is required which can cost companies millions
and if not kept in check companies could cut their operation cost to an all time low.
Ethically speaking companies should protect their workers from being overworked, but in reality
some of these companies are the same ones with sweatshops in 3rd world nations. The world is
money driven plain and simple. If allowed, companies will either overwork an employee or find
one that they can. Care for quality of life in the business world is a relatively new concept thanks
to laws and demands by customers.

While walking through a city, the pedestrian creates the city. Due to urbanisation people travel from

1 And 2 Corinthians Freedom
The greatness of Jesus death on the cross and his resurrection is freedom from the law, freedom
from the consequences of sin and freedom to live a new life. In essence, one s salvation is no
longer based on their ability to fulfill the law, but instead placing faith in Christ and his fulfillment
through the cross. Yet, there is great tension in Christ s gift of freedom. Are there behaviors or
actions that can diminish Christ s work in one s life and are Christians free to do anything they
want because they have been forgiven? Certainly these questions have been answered through Paul
s letters to the church in Corinth. The books of 1 2 Corinthians are addressed to people who have
come out of a pagan lifestyle and accepted Christ as their Savior. Yet at the same time, they
struggle to leave their old way of life behind. What is more, they claim to have knowledge that
allows them live however they want; and yet, Paul confronts their claim as foolishness and
complete missing of why Jesus died and rose again. This point comes to a head within 1
Corinthians chapter eight; in which, Paul s purpose of this chapter is to correct the church s
wrongful understanding of freedom; such as eating food sacrificed to... Show more content on

was a young man. Along with his hallucinations, Willy is very paranoid, constantly feeling that life
is very unfair and that someone is out to get him. Some see these symptoms and believe that Willy
has a mental disorder. Within this time period mental illness was not to be spoken about or

one may see Willy Loman as a schizophrenic. Many people whom have schizophrenia have

I Ll Do It Analysis
We used to make word maps as an icebreaker activity, mostly in middle school and occasionally at
summer camp. These maps would contain different traits and phrases about the cartographer, the
most relevant ones taking precedent above the others and appearing larger on the map. Long
gone are the days of creating word maps for me, but if I had created one for my junior year of high
school, I m sure that my most pertinent phrase would have been an ambitious I ll do it. Every
time a new project came up I would be the first in line to hop into the captain s chair, whether it
be for my film class, physics, english, or even choir. All of these responsibilities began to
encumber my personal happiness, for I was perpetually working and striving for my best whilst

The Jackson Graeter Backstage Theatre Of The Mary Alice...
At 12:30 PM, on October 18, 2016 I attended a Brown Bag Event that took place at the Jackson
Graeter Backstage Theatre of the Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center. The event was a
recital by singer / songwriter Ms. Amy Engelhardt, performing original works from her 2008
album, Not Going to be Pretty. She played the piano as she sang; and two Temple College staff
members (Tarik Hassan on double bass and Norm Bergeron on the drums) also accompanied her.
Ms. Engelhardt performed eleven original pieces: Bridges and Tunnels , Satellite , Yreka
Bakery , Dogs , What do I do With Your Car? , Sandwich Man , Ride of Your Life , I Heard That ,
You re Not Going to be Pretty , Deadline Alaska and Final Hour . In addition, the artist also
played Drown in You , a song she collaborated with Karen Hart to write, and This Better be Good
, a cover tune . The cover tune was originally written by Fountains of Wayne, Ms. Engelhardt
made it her own by giving the melody a new twist. All the songs are contemporary, having been
written in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Most the songs are sung using a Comedy
/ Satire Rock genre, however, What do I do With Your Car? and Final Hour had more of a
Ballard tempo. Ms. Amy Engelhardt was introduced to the audience by Mrs. Teri Johnson. The
artist introduced the two men who would be accompanying her in many of the pieces. All four
were dressed casual and yet dressy, which was appropriate for the locale.

Why Is Street Racing Illegal
Why is street racing illegal? Should Street racing should be legalized? What are the pros and
cons about street racing? My experiences with street racing. Those are the four things I will be
talking about today. I have done my research and found a lot of information on both why it should
remain illegal and why it should be legalized. I was very excited to do my research paper about this
because I love to see movies where they race. My favorite is the fast and the furious movies. I also
kinda like to car shows and see when they race on the normal streets. Why is street racing illegal?
They reason for street racing being illegal is because racers are breaking the law and going over the
speed limit. Also they are recklessly drivingaccording to the police(Jones, Kyrana). Its also illegal
because they reach high excessive speeds up to 150 MPH (miles per hour). That s why most of
they time they get busted or they get in an accident. Should street racing be legalized? I believe it
should be legalized... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The world of street racing provides an outlet for teenagers, primarily, by giving them a group of
like minded individuals to spend time with and enjoy the same passion (Legalization of Street

teenagers want to have our own clubs and like to meet new people and do fun stuff. Street racing
is a dangerous pastime that law enforcement agencies across the country consider illegal.
Therefore, breaking the law and endangering yourself as well as onlookers and innocent people
in the area are on top of the list. Drivers that have never experienced high speeds are suddenly
behind the wheel of a rocket about to go out of control with no clue how to react or what to do
(Legalization of Street Racing). That is true but like in the movies like fast and the furious they

Ethics and Government Spending
Ethics and Government Spending
In responding to the scenario wherein the City Commissioner is faced with the dilemma of
approving the expense for a proposed annual Halloween Party among the committee staff and
members, it is important to first have an understanding of the role that the City Commissioner plays
as a public servant. This is to determine if indeed, as a City Commissioner can consider the situation
s/he is as an ethical dilemma that conflicts with the accountability that his/her position entails.
The City Commissioner, in a nutshell, is the micro manager of the city. This position is responsible
for specific administrative, operational, and financial tasks concerning the city committee. More
than anything, the City Commissioner is responsible for determining and overseeing policies and
laws that are prioritized by the city, a decision making process spearheaded by and shared with the
city mayor. In conjunction with the implementation of specific regulations and policies at the city
level, the City Commissioner is also held accountable for the financial management of the city s
budget. That is, s/he is responsible for determining the city budget, and developing approaches and
strategies in which the city can generate or earn this budget within the year. In effect, the City
Commissioner is also one of the persons responsible for spending or optimally allocating the city
budget as well.

The Invention Of Hand Made Products
It is important to retain hands on skills in a changing world that is beginning to be taken over by
assembly lines with robots and 3D computer printing that takes out most and in some cases all
manual labour, and makes peoples jobs redundant all in search of a cheaper more efficient product.
In a changing world it is now more important than ever to maintain the knowledge of hands on
skills such as furniture design, crafts and manual labour so we don t lose our way and become a
lazy world. Hand made products are very important as it is in human nature to create thing by using
our own two hands.
William Morris (see figure 1) was a textile designer from England during the eighteen hundreds. At
the time of the industrial revolution many were keen for the machines to be vastly used although
Morris was aware of the drawbacks that would come with this. He was a large believer of hand
made products and played a major role in the revival of the traditional handmade British Textile arts
and crafts. Figure 1, William Morris
Morris was born in Essex to a wealthy middle class family, Morris then studied Classics at Oxford
University. After university he trained as an architect and developed a close friendship with Philip
Webb, a fellow designer. Webb and Morris went on to design a family home, Red House in Kent
(see figure 2), where the Morris s lived for six years from 1859 to 1865, before relocating London.
In 1861, with a group of friends, they started a business called Morris,

House Of Seven Gables Literary Analysis Essay
The objective of this Literary Analysis Essay is to express my opinion as it relates to the story and
discuss how the greed of Colonel Pyncheon attributed to the unfortunate generational incidents
among the Pyncheon family. I will analyze and explore the story The House of Seven
Gables to make this determination. It is expected that the literature will reveal Colonel Pyncheon is
responsible for the long chain of terrible events that played out from generation to generation
among his family.
In the story The House of Seven Gables, Nathaniel Hawthorne attempts to describe the character of

A series of events were noted to take place within the story that could be seen as very unfortunate.
To begin, Colonel Pyncheon held a party to inaugurate his new mansion, but unfortunately, was
found dead in his study at the conclusion of the party. His beard was dripping with blood. He left a
letter decreeing that his portrait should always be displayed on a wall inside his home. The family
felt as though having the portrait of him hanging around the home, made it impossible for them to
forget him, The Evil Genius . The portrait becomes a touchstone for everything bad in the Pyncheon
family. Random incidents seem to have kept occurring that were in many ways unexplainable.
Clifford Pyncheon, was wrongly convicted and sentenced to serve 30 years in prison. He was
accused by his greedy cousin Judge Pyncheon for the murder of his uncle. Later, word began to
spread that the judge may have framed Clifford for murder, but he was actually an innocent man.
Just a few years later, Hepzibah Pyncheon (Clifford Pyncheons sister ), was forced to open a small
store in her home in order to support herself and keep from suffering of hunger.

Essay on Writing of a Concert Review
Writing of a Concert Review
Bob Dylan s songs are filled with inspirational messages. The songs were composed with
inspiration and creativity being the main elements of the song. The obvious messages that are
presented in the songs make them some of the most inspiring and creative pieces that have ever
been produced. While he was performing in the Aver Fish Hall, Dylan presented a performance of
22 songs that were performed by 21 different groups. The performance was meant to be a non

These instruments were meant to influence the originality of the performance and create an
accompaniment for the song. As a result, the songs sounded real and the performers were able to
replicate the original versions of the songs (O Strange 1). There were also pianos that were played
according to the music s genre. The pianos, just like the rest of the instruments, ensured that the
music was perfect and that there was as much proximity to the original versions as possible.
Even in terms of the instrumentation and rhythm, all the musical notations that were performed
were similar to the original version. The piano players ensured that they stuck to the eighth note
formation to realize the expected results. Natalie Merchant, one of the singers, made the
composition and the performance to have a mournful or sorrowful mood, so as to bring out the
emotions of the songs and to establish an attachment of the song to the performance (Pareles 1).
The performances were therefore inclined towards bringing out the ideal feelings and emotions
associated with the song. Other performances were by Rossane Cash, who ensured similarity
between the original versions and the songs played during the show (O Strange 1).
Solo guitars were also used as accompaniments to the songs in order realize pure creativity and
originality. The guitars that were used by the various performers targeted at ensuring conformity to

The vast majority of dudes (are) doing this high testosterone sort of storytelling, and so we put

are all good looking, not too many ugly superheroes. They ve all got their hair gelled back. They
have got perfect pecs on them. They have no hair on their chest. I mean, they are Ryan Gosling

this was a major concern for the parents buying comics for their children they did not want to

Australian Competition And Consumer Act 2010
This essay will discuss the requirements for a legally binding contract, elements for establishing
misrepresentation in a court and some elements of the Australian Competition and Consumer Act
2010. Mr Manfredi entered into a bilateral contact with Elvis Eggplant who is the director of the
vegetarian cafГ© HappyHippie.
Elvis Eggplant has induced Mr Manfredi to purchase the cafГ© HappyHippie by inflating financial
accounts by 60% and supplying misleading information about future profitability of the cafe. This
essay will argue there is sufficient evidence to establish that Elvis Eggplant has given misleading
information to pursue Mr. Manfredi to get into a contract to buy the cafГ© HappyHippie. Mr.
Manfredi could pursue damages and rescission against Elvis Eggplant under Australian Competition
and Consumer Act 2010 S 18 for fraudulent misrepresentation.
There are six elements to determine if there is a legally binding contract between the offeror
(Elvis Eggplant) and offeree (Mr. Manfredi). Elements for a legally binding contract are intention,
agreement, consideration, legal capacity, genuine consent and legality of objects. Based on the
information given in this case Mr. Manfredi and Elvis Eggplant have entered into a legally binding
contract. Both parties had the intention to agree for a legally binding commercial contract. Mr.
Manfredi accepted the offer from Elvis and paid money to buy the cafГ©.

The Nature Of Self By Sri Ramana Maharshi
The Nature of Self
Introduction
The life of man today is characterized by millions of activities that almost steal attention of one
self. It is literally impossible for man to quietly life in a serene place that is very quiet and free
from distraction of any manner. If anybody needs such scenery, then such a person has to invest a
lot on it. Technology has invaded almost all the private areas of human beings. Phones are
everywhere and electromagnetic radiations are everywhere. Even the once thought private zones
like bathrooms and toilets are being invaded by water proof podcasts and Iphones. It is because of
these kinds of distractions and the likes that the concept of nature of self becomes of importance.
The nature of self is an ideology, which is embedded on religious believes in Asia. Sri Ramana
Maharshi tried to explain the concept on different facets. The reason behind the multi facet nature
of the concept is because it tries to explain human behavior, which is very dynamic. The quest to
understand humanity propels this concept to a reality and makes it have diverse versions from
different people. Through the lens of subjects and objects in the greater universe, man tries to
explain himself and find peace with the environment. This is irrespective of whether an atheist or
theist. Nature of self not only concentrates on the explanation of the out going nature of the human
begins, but its religious aspect helps mediate on behavior of human beings. According to the

Walter Benjamin Essay
Walter Benjamin looks into the shift in perception and its affects at the beginning of film and
photography in the twentieth century. He writes about how a sense changes within humanity s
way of looking at visual works of art. Having its differences now and its consequences remain to
be determined. Benjamin attempts to underline something exact about the modern age and of the
effects of modernity on the work of art in particular. (Benjamin, 222) Film and photography
directly lead into this movement, he writes about the loss of aura through the mechanical
reproduction of art it s self. So in turn what leads me to believe he felt if a degree of authenticity
was lost, it had less appeal and stigma presented with it; every time an art piece is... Show more

The act of reaching for a lighter or a spoon is familiar routine, yet we hardly know what really
goes on between hand and metal, not to mention how this fluctuates with our moods. Here the
camera intervenes with the resources of its lowerings and liftings, its interruptions and
isolations, its extensions and accelerations, its enlargements and reductions. The camera
introduces us to unconscious optics as does psychoanalysis to unconscious impulses (Benjamin,
237). The way he views the play on aura, authenticity, and uniqueness of art is fundamentally
associated to that of their insertion in a traditional role. Reproduced art is completely
dissociated from the small circle of tradition. Shedding light to the positive side of breaking
tradition helps to bring works of art into different realms of thought becoming appealing to
different types of viewers, enabling the work of art to be disconnected from its pass uses and
brought back with different appeal and outlook. For a very millennial example, Memes, some
memes take 18th century paintings like the self portraits of Joseph Ducreux. Taking art such as
this and basically mocking still makes it visible to certain people who might not of had interest or
availability to see the man behind the words. This would obviously be an issue to Walter Benjamin
but it begs to ask the question on weather he believed art was only meant for the upper class

Sleep Disturbance And Day Time Sleepiness
which his characterized by snoring, sleep disturbance and day time sleepiness. There is a close
relation between OSA and hypertension; as many as one third of hypertensive patients and above
80% of those with resistant hypertension have OSA.
Alcohol Higher intake of alcohol increases the blood pressure. Reducing alcohol leads to fall in the
systolic blood pressure.
Stress Psychological or environmental stress play a part in the causes of hypertension. Direct effects
of situations such as poverty, unemployment and poor education (stressors) are involved, as are
other aspects of lifestyle that are linked to hypertension.
Exercise Physical activity increases blood pressure, but people who exercise regularly have lower
blood pressures. Such people, however, also may have a healthier diet and more sensible drinking
and smoking habits.
Other dietary factors Vegetarians generally have lower BP than non vegetarians. Reducing a meat
rich diet with vegetable products reduces blood pressure. Caffeine and caffeinated drinks also
increases blood pressure and must be avoided.
THE VARIOUS BODY MECHANISMS THAT CAUSES AND INFLUENCES HYPERTENSION
The various mechanisms that cause and influences hypertension are actually built into us for good
reasons: we need them to keep our blood pressure from falling too low. But when they go somewhat
awry, they cause high blood pressure. And when that happens, we need treatment for hypertension,
ironically aimed at the same mechanisms.

I ve seen yoruba families eat from the same plate and children sitting among adults while they speak. In Igbo culture if you wish to eat with your father, you eat from his plate, but he will not leave where he s at to eat from the child s plate. Typically fathers are served separate from children, and as children become youths they chose to eat separately from those not in their age group. • 12. Disability Rights Movement Essay While the exact origin of the disability rights movement can be debated, some historians concur that the movement began in 1817 when The American School of the Deaf launched in Hartford, Connecticut became the first educational institutional to use sign language and take care of people with disabilities. Apart from the mission to educate, the goal of the school was to foster self sufficiency. From Years 1900 AD till date, Braille is the English language standard for the blinds. • 13. The Impact Of Digital Technology On Society With new technical breakthroughs happening every minute, technology is advancing far beyond our imagination. The internet has become increasingly accessible with new smartphones and smart devices, and with them came new social media applications. Social media has now become a large factor in the lives of many people across the globe as a means of finding and distributing information. People spend more and more time on the internet, and less time having face to face human interactions. Instead of human interactions and networking, popularity and social status is now based on friends on Facebook, followers on Twitter, and Instagram likes . The lack of meaningful social interactions has caused an increase in mental health issues such as social anxiety and depression, and adversely impacts human society. Digital technology negatively affects happiness because it causes loneliness, mental illness and a disconnection from the real world. Social platforms negatively affect happiness because it causes loneliness. As social media becomes more pronounced in our daily lives, the further apart we grow from each other physically and the closer we become on the internet. A person might have 2,000 friends on Facebook but in reality has no real friends to connect with on a more personal level. The phrase, your real friends, captures the anxieties that social media have produced: the fears that Facebook along with other social media platforms is interfering with our real friendships, ... • 14. Crime And The Crimes Of Crime Essay According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2006) crime is defined as an offence punishable by the State on behalf of the general public whose standards do not permit the offending behaviour. Whilst countless studies have been conducted over the years surrounding crime and the committing of crimes by individuals , there has also long been debate surrounding whether or not crimeis gendered and if so, to what extent. Over the decades a number of studies have been conducted in order to answer this question, with significantly varying results uncovered. Whilst some studies, including those by Darrell Steffensmeier and Emilie Allan (1996) and Jennifer Schwartz and Darrell Steffensmeier (2008) have found that genderplays a significant role in the committing of crimes, other studies including that of Kenneth Polk (1993) have found that the prevalence of gender differences in crimes is reliant on the nature of the crime itself. According to Frances Heidensohn (1985), gender appears to be the single most crucial variable associated with criminality (p.22). In agreement with this statement, Steffensmeier and Allan (1996) highlighted in Gender and Crime: Toward a gendered Theory of Female Offending , that worldwide criminologists agree that the gender gap within offenders of crime is universal, in that men are always more likely to commit a criminal act than women. The topic/statement that I will be discussing is: Perhaps the films greatest treasure is its cast of minor and other characters, each of whom is a gem of observation and performance. With their plastic faces and hired hair and their deluding sense of self importance, they convey an almost pathetic conviction that all their actions are for the greater good. Of the minor characters to choose from I have selected Barry Fife, Liz Holt and Shirley Hastings. The first character we will be analysing is Barry Fife. This character is a very superficial, self absorbed as well as overly obsessed with his appearance. During the course of strictly Ballroom we notice that Barry wears a lot of blue which helps portray his cold, uninvolved emotional state. He firmly believes that his way is the right way and shows us this by the video he makes which is aptly titled only way to dance . His arrogance is revealed when he makes a statement saying, Dance any steps you want, but you won t win. • 21. Channel Mediated Diffusion Essay Diffusion is categorized as passive transport in which atoms or molecules are moved, often through a cell membrane, from a higher to a lower concentration. This process involves the spreading of the solute, which ultimately results in the removal of a concentration gradient (Kate T. et al. 2015). Typically, there are two types of diffusionacross a cell membrane: simple or channel mediated. Simple diffusion occurs when molecules diffuse easily through the membrane; whereas channel mediated diffusion occurs when molecules pass through the membrane via protein channels often due to their size or electrical force. There are several factors which can affect the rate and capability of diffusion such as molecule and gradient size, temperature and electrical forces. For example, more extreme temperatures result in a slower rate of diffusion. Thus diffusion at room temperature occurs at a much more rapid rate than would diffusion at an extremely low temperature. On the conservative side, there views are that people should be responsible for themselves, if they are given the chance they are completely capable of supporting themselves and their families. They also believe that if government always picks up and pampers the poor or needy, they will be weak and lose their motivation to work. Because Constantinople had a strong tie with Chariot Racing, specifically at the Circus of Constantinople in the 6th century, it can be assumed that this image has a connection to that. The first link is the two legs that look like horse hooves in the top right area of the image, although you cannot tell for sure because the image is cut off. Another association is the palm branches off to the right, which were a staple in Chariot races as one of the prizes the victors would be able to hold and wear. This quote applies perfectly for our countries current status because all of the voters who do not support Trump are tied to him and his decisions for the next four years. With King s view of civil disobedience, these protestors are not justified in their protesting of Trump because a process that has been used for hundreds of years elected him legally. In order for these protestors to civilly disobey in unison with King s views, they must protest the Electoral College and not the man that the Electoral College elected. What many may not realize is that research does assert how the violent contents within video games may lead to aggression, possibly from arousal and being desensitized to real violence. Whilst other researchers argue that the relationship between violent video games and desensitization to real violence is not causal and how other factors such as family violence, one s development and genetic tendencies and one s perception of violence may lead to one committing aggression or violence. This paper discusses such claims and analyzes both sides of the spectrum to see if this relationship is causal or external factors may be involved. Exposure to Violent Video Games and Its Potential Effects in Leading to Violence or Aggression As the video game industry is continuing to grow, over the last thirty years, more and more kids are spending their time on video games. Carnagey and Anderson (2004) describe how one of the most dominant themes in the video game industry is the theme of violence. The researchers, after detailing how the video game industries has thrived through the incorporation of violence into their contents, describes how current findings suggest that 89% of the video games contain some type of ... The Cost Of The United States An increase in the number of vacation days or limiting the hours worked in a week by the government may increase the quality of life by providing more leisure time. However, the overall quality of life would struggle because in this day and age one has to have money to have a good time. Recently after much debate, the French eliminated their 35 hour workweek limit with strong justifiable arguments by both parties. The law was first put in place in 2000 due impart to the unemployment rate that was around 10% at the time. Ideally with shorter workweeks companies would have to hire more employees to maintain current outputs. Despite having an extremely productive American companies are hesitant to open factories in France when they may have to pay workers more than they would in America because of operating cost of after an employee works 35 5 hours. Ethical Hazards While agreeing that with the elimination of the law, restrictions should still be enforced to protect workers from exploitation by their employers. Giving companies more of an edge in their industries by tampering with the workweek hours could become a slippery slop. The 35 hour week was not just 35 hours and everyone goes home it s like the standard 40 hour week the United States recognizes. After the 35 hours overtime pay is required which can cost companies millions and if not kept in check companies could cut their operation cost to an all time low. In essence, one s salvation is no longer based on their ability to fulfill the law, but instead placing faith in Christ and his fulfillment through the cross. Yet, there is great tension in Christ s gift of freedom. Are there behaviors or actions that can diminish Christ s work in one s life and are Christians free to do anything they want because they have been forgiven? Certainly these questions have been answered through Paul s letters to the church in Corinth. The books of 1 2 Corinthians are addressed to people who have come out of a pagan lifestyle and accepted Christ as their Savior. Yet at the same time, they struggle to leave their old way of life behind. What is more, they claim to have knowledge that allows them live however they want; and yet, Paul confronts their claim as foolishness and complete missing of why Jesus died and rose again. Some rock s in the Earth s interior that are solid, are so hot that, if the pressure on these were released, or they are convected into a lower pressure zone, they could begin to melt Volatiles: The melting temperatures of minerals are reduced under high water pressure. Consequently wet rocks (rocks containing water) melt at lower temperatures that do dry rock containing identical mineral assemblages Factors influencing the viscosity of magmas Higher temperatures cause atoms to spread out and decrease in density, so magma at higher temperature is less viscous and will flow more easily Dissolved gases make the magma more fluid and buoyant. The higher the temperature the more the gases remain dissolved and the less viscous the magma The amount of silica in the magma. Silica has close jointing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 55. Walter Benjamin Essay Walter Benjamin looks into the shift in perception and its affects at the beginning of film and photography in the twentieth century. He writes about how a sense changes within humanity s way of looking at visual works of art. Having its differences now and its consequences remain to be determined. Benjamin attempts to underline something exact about the modern age and of the effects of modernity on the work of art in particular. (Benjamin, 222) Film and photography directly lead into this movement, he writes about the loss of aura through the mechanical reproduction of art it s self. So in turn what leads me to believe he felt if a degree of authenticity was lost, it had less appeal and stigma presented with it; every time an art piece is... The act of reaching for a lighter or a spoon is familiar routine, yet we hardly know what really goes on between hand and metal, not to mention how this fluctuates with our moods. Here the camera intervenes with the resources of its lowerings and liftings, its interruptions and isolations, its extensions and accelerations, its enlargements and reductions. The camera introduces us to unconscious optics as does psychoanalysis to unconscious impulses (Benjamin, 237). The way he views the play on aura, authenticity, and uniqueness of art is fundamentally associated to that of their insertion in a traditional role. Reproduced art is completely dissociated from the small circle of tradition. Shedding light to the positive side of breaking tradition helps to bring works of art into different realms of thought becoming appealing to different types of viewers, enabling the work of art to be disconnected from its pass uses and brought back with different appeal and outlook. For a very millennial example, Memes, some memes take 18th century paintings like the self portraits of Joseph Ducreux. Taking art such as this and basically mocking still makes it visible to certain people who might not of had interest or availability to see the man behind the words. This would obviously be an issue to Walter Benjamin but it begs to ask the question on weather he believed art was only meant for the upper class ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 56. Sleep Disturbance And Day Time Sleepiness which his characterized by snoring, sleep disturbance and day time sleepiness. There is a close relation between OSA and hypertension; as many as one third of hypertensive patients and above 80% of those with resistant hypertension have OSA. Alcohol Higher intake of alcohol increases the blood pressure. Reducing alcohol leads to fall in the systolic blood pressure. Stress Psychological or environmental stress play a part in the causes of hypertension. Direct effects of situations such as poverty, unemployment and poor education (stressors) are involved, as are other aspects of lifestyle that are linked to hypertension. Exercise Physical activity increases blood pressure, but people who exercise regularly have lower blood pressures. Such people, however, also may have a healthier diet and more sensible drinking and smoking habits. Other dietary factors Vegetarians generally have lower BP than non vegetarians. Reducing a meat rich diet with vegetable products reduces blood pressure. Caffeine and caffeinated drinks also increases blood pressure and must be avoided. THE VARIOUS BODY MECHANISMS THAT CAUSES AND INFLUENCES HYPERTENSION The various mechanisms that cause and influences hypertension are actually built into us for good reasons: we need them to keep our blood pressure from falling too low. But when they go somewhat awry, they cause high blood pressure. And when that happens, we need treatment for hypertension, ironically aimed at the same mechanisms. 1. How ...
