A Summary Of Peyton s Murder Case
I have researched a case that had happened here in my own town not long ago a good man we called
(Pops) was shot and killed. I am very familiar with this whole case and the news does not tell the
whole story. Kegerran Peyton and Darion Watts was caught on camera walking into the store a number
of times, then the third time Peyton walked into the store and put a hundred dollar bill on the counter
and asked to buy a pack of cigarettes, when Nilkanth Patil turned to get the pack of Newport s Peyton
pulled a gun from his waist line and shot Patil in cold blood in the back of the neck, then turned and
shot another person that was in the store he was taking to Hattiesburg hospital and later released. I was

Assess The Impact Of Web-Based Communication On Public...
The impact of web based communication on public attitudes and political policy making has grown
from small to large. With web based communication, people are able to get information out to a larger
quantity of people throughout the world. The impact is so great because we no longer need to rely on
word of mouth or the media and their personal views. Now everyone can get involved and go online to
get information. As stated in the article (the impact of web based communication on election and
political policy making). Technology allows for the mass distribution of a one way message from one
to many. There are many different views. One being that laws and policies could be formulated
allowing political power. However, this power would need ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The data show that on twitter, political talk is highly partisan, where users clusters are characterized
by homogenous views and are linked to information sources. The more tweets on twitter, the more the
content or information is likely to be one sided. The other source of information is face book. Many of
these sites are viewed by the younger generation, who are into technology more so than the older
generation. This is causing many changes in the impact of web based communication. When they use
these social Medias, they are able to reach out to more people and if they have strong political views,
they can reach out to their friends and get the information out. Social media has grown and is
becoming the way to get information out and more and more adults are using it as well as the younger
generation. Many of the issues being posted are just personal opinions and thoughts, but it is enough
to get people on ones side and see their political point of view. People will constantly hit like if they
agree with the information being posted, causing people to just read views and not even know what
they are liking, but liking it just because their friend posted it. However, even though a person will
like something, many people are moving away from group postings and loyalty and are more
independent in their personal and individual views, ideas and expressions. Many of these are built
around human rights, environmental protection, inequality and many other issues. There are findings
that many people have different political views of their friends. These people are still friends.
However, they do not agree with their political

Outline Of An Overall Theory
According to www.merriam webster.com the term crime is defined as: an illegal act for which
someone can be punished by the government . Some individuals in our society commit some type of
crime every day, but why? In this assignment I will try to compile an overall theory as to why
individuals commit crimes. While doing my research I came across 10 reasons/factors that can
possibly explain why individuals commit crimes. These reasons include: The Prison System, drugs,
depression and other social and mental disorders, family conditions, regionalism, T.V. violence,
racism, politics, poverty, and overpopulation. The prison system is a major cause of crime because
many prisons do not offer rehabilitation programs so that criminals can at least try to or learn how to
become a better individual in society. Jails or prisons typically tend to make individuals worse due to
the harsh conditions that exist within the jails and prisons; especially when in some prisons and jails
+survive. This of course leads to criminals committing crime within a prison or jail. Drugs are also a
major reason as to why individuals commit crime. When an individual is addicted to drugs they will
commit any crime necessary in order to support their drug habit. Also, there are many individuals who
are drug dealers who are highly involved in the drug trade; drug dealers will typically commit any
crime when it comes to their drug product and their profits. Typically the main reason or factor as to

Ethical Leadership in 21st Century Global Organizations
Ethical Leadership in 21st Century Global Organisations
Introduction:
Business leadership is inherently challenging, calling for an individual or collective of leaders with a
strong sense of organization, a critical understanding of the internal peculiarities of a given operation
and a firm recognition of the ever shifting external conditions contextualizing the business. The
demands incumbent upon organizational leadership require an integration of vision, pragmatism,
strategic orientation and ethicality. However, as the circumstances shaping the global business
environment shift, so too do the nature of these various demands. This is the condition at the center of
the current reading and research on ethical leadership in 21st century global orgnisations. For effective
leadership to achieve survival, let alone success, in a context where the collision of varying cultural,
legal and ethical dispositions has come to influence decision making, it is necessary to acknowledge
and adapt to a more global understanding of achieving organizational goals. As the discussion here
will demonstrate, there is a distinct ethical complexity to this adaptation.
Synthesis of ideas: Indeed, this is the focus of the series of ideas expressed within our literature. Here,
researchers acknowledge that the inception and rise of globalization, has altered the way that 21st
century businesses compete. With the continued dismantling of trade obstacles between borders and
across oceans, the

Functionalism And Funtionalism In The Holocaust
Introduction Functionalism versus intentionalism is a long lasting debate originating from the end of
World War Two in 1945. It analyses the Third Reich and the way it s leaders approached foreign
policy at the time, mainly concerning the Holocaust. There are two dominant theories to the
background behind the horrific events of the Holocaust that took lives of 6 million Jews and millions
of other ethnic minorities. Historians have ever since searched for evidence of the reasons behind
these abominations executed by Adolf Hitler, was solely Hitler behind the Holocaust or was it the men
working for his regime? In this essay I will analyse the evidence in favor for both of the theories
suggested in the question and the evidence produced to support them, as well as the views of the
historians at that time and now. There are two competing theories functionalist and intentionalism,
however the main difficulty occurs considering the fact that there is lack of evidence on the main
perpetrator behind the Jewish question (Draper, 1999, p.14). Since no single Führerbefehl (order from
the Führer) has ever been found, or is ever likely to be found, historians have debated the centrality of
Hitler to the development of Nazi Jewish policy (Stone, 2004, p.2) Functionalism Theory of
functionalism was greatly contributed by Marxist historian Timothy Mason, whose views shined light
off of Hitler being the sole mastermind behind the Holocaust, and towards the Nazi organization

Christianity And Religion In Beowulf And The Canterbury Tales
Throughout the Middle Ages, religion was a major theme in the literature of that time. Works such as
Beowulf and The Canterbury Tales are examples of this theme in action, but in very different ways.
God is seen purely as goodness in Beowulf, and everything that God approves of is good as well.
Contrarily, The Canterbury Tales satirizes religion by showing members of the church in a negative
manner and debating the teachings of the Bible, the latter particularly in The Wife of Bath s Prologue.
Despite these different takes on Christianity, the characters in both stories sin, yet are defended. Both
Beowulf and The Wife of Bath s Prologue contain different defenses of the protagonist s sin, to
varying degrees of success.
Beowulf s sins revolve around personality traits, namely his boastfulness and greed, however the
author does not acknowledge this sin. First and foremost, it must be made clear that these sins truly
exist in Beowulf and are in opposition to Christian morals, regardless of whether or not the author
condemns them. Upon his arrival in Heorot, Beowulf s conversation with Unferth demonstrates how
his pride and boastfulness is integral to his reputation. Unferth asks, Are you the Beowulf who took on
Breca / in a swimming match on the open sea, / risking the water just to prove that you could win? / It
was sheer vanity made you venture out / on the main deep, (Beowulf 506 510). Considering that this is
the first sentence Unferth speaks to the hero, it is

Philadelphia Centennial Of 1876 Research Paper
The Philadelphia Centennial of 1876 is the origin starting point for a rebirth of the colonial
architectural heritage of America and the early English and Dutch houses of the Atlantic seaboard. The
increasing popularity of colonial influences on contemporary architecture motivated a highly
publicized tour of a group of architects in 1877 who observed and recorded Georgian and Federal
houses of New England. The simplicity of colonial designs and honest use of materials with more
economical plans than the recently popular picturesque homes also contributed to the growing
popularity of the style. Even a century after modern architecture was introduced, Colonial Revival
motifs continue to be popular in new construction. These homes got their

Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman
The arrest of Joaquin El Chapo Guzman was a victorious circumstance for the Mexican government,
who have been closing down on his presence for the recent past years. Mexican authorities began
taking down high ranked members of the Sinaloa Cartel including two of Guzman s main associates.
On February 22, 2014, the world s most wanted man had also been captured. Although the biggest
drug lord has been captured, the crime and violence left behind cannot be forgotten. Joaquin El Chapo
Guzman Loera was born on April 4, 1957 in Sinaloa, Mexico. He was born into a poor family in a

In the late 1970 s, Guzman worked under the drug lord Hector El Guero Palma by transporting
narcotics near U.S. Mexico border through aircraft. Although Guzman s rank in the cartel was very
minimal, he took his job very seriously. For example, if any of his drug shipments were not on
schedule, he would kill the smuggler himself usually letting them experience a slow and painful death.
Business partners quickly learned that ripping Guzman off or betraying him was not an option. The
way Guzman handled business helped him gain popularity. In the 1980 s, the dominant Guadalajara
Cartel introduced him to Felix Gallardo, one of Mexico s high ranked drug lords. Guzman began
working for Gallardo as a chauffeur then quickly moved up in the business with the role of
coordinating drug shipments from Columbia to Mexico through land, air, and sea. Palma on the other
hand delivered his drugs into the United States. Guzman earned himself a lot of respect for his work
and began working for Gallardo directly. Throughout the late 70 s and early 80 s, Mexico drug
traffickers were the middlemen for Columbian drug trafficking groups. They would simply transport
drugs into the U.S. and receive a fee for each kilogram. At this point Gallardo was the top drug
kingpin in Mexico. When Gallardo was arrested, Guzman reportedly lived in Guadalajara, Jalisco. He

State Judicial Structures
Assessing the Impact of State Judicial Structures on Citizens Litigiousness by Jeff Yates, Holley
Tankersley, and Paul Brace describes the structure of the state judicial courts with its dependence on
certain internal and external principles that will influence the overall participation of individual s
litigation cases. The authors main question explores the role that state legal institutions played in
explaining state variation in legal mobilization. (Yates, Tankersley, Brace, 2010, 796) The authors
postulate this question because they believe that differences in the elemental structure of the judicial
system affect the degree to which citizens involve the legal system for redress. (796) The authors
further elaborated on their question ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I usually think of the court, I usually think of it as a level headed branch that is unbiased and
can answer my question, my problems, and societal issues with any personal views. This view of mine
is broken with many facets influencing courts. Judicial selection and judicial professionalism are key
concepts that broke my previous views and towards a better understanding the current process to
litigations. I find it rather eye opening that if a judge were to run either as a partisan or a nonpartisan
judge that he or she will receive almost the same amount of attention on them. In the other statements,
I found myself reasonably agreeing with most of them. Elected judges similar to elected politicians
will try to hold their bastion of support by honoring their voter intention and vote subtly along partisan
lines as a form of certainty. In contrast, appointed judges bring more uncertainty and more chances of
change in society given their lack of an ideological background. Judicial professionalism as stated
previously make sense that their legal background make a prominent stance in a courtroom with them
making fewer decisive legal rulings, having a robust legal team, and being paid a higher salary. In
state political environment, it never occurred to me that where you have the

Definition Of The Assertive Discipline Model
Lee Canter was born in 1947. Lee Canter made the assertive discipline model this is also known as an
approach for classroom behavioral management for practitioners to use to control behaviour. The
approach involves a high level of controlled teaching in the day to day classroom life. this approach is
also known as the take control approach for teaching, as is allows teachers in the classroom to take
control in a classroom using a positive attitude. It allows teacher to do this as it sets rules and
directions that are clear for practitioners to use within the setting. These rules and directions will give
practitioners the knowledge to know what is appropriate and un appropriate behavior, the practitioner
will therefore be able to help the children understand what kind of behaviour is expected form
students when they are in school. This approach is used to have a better understanding on how adult s
affect children s behaviour, to do this they will have to show an assertive response by showing clear
discipline. Example of how to show this would be to have rules set in place and consequences for if
these rules are not followed or if negative behavior is shown by students. These consequences are
clearly explained to the children and young people that are in the setting so they will know what will
happen if they do not follow the rules. The setting will be promoting positive behavior to the children
in their care, the adults will be role model in showing the children in what

Progression Of Images And Leitmotif By Carol Ann Duffy
Progression of images/leitmotifs: Duffy establishes light and body parts as the leitmotifs in the poem
to illustrate the joy in motherhood, when a mother can watch her child grow up. The speaker
associates the daughter as a Light gatherer who held a candleworth, glowed in the speaker s hand, and
mirrored the soft lamp, which creates the light imagery. Light drives out darkness which has
connotations of sadness and evilness while light has the connotations of innocence and purity. Light is
also associated with the sun, which the speaker then illustrates that her child is the center of her world,
in which everything else revolves around her child. Light imagery is constant throughout the poem,
demonstrating that the child is a constant brightness and cheerfulness in the speaker s view. Body parts
leitmotif includes palms, ears, feet, head, arms, and chin, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Duffy exaggerates the child s kissed feet glowed as a hyperbole to provide the sense of service for
glorification of the child, demonstrating the speaker s willingness to provide everything the child
needs. Language glittered like a river compares language to a river, explaining how the child had no
difficulty speaking because a river flows smoothly. The simile supports the adolescent stage of the
cycle of life because the child is learning communication skills, which marks the beginning of
independence from the parent as the child no longer relies on the parent as much as in the stage of
infancy. The w alliteration in with, whole, where, and watching creates soft and pleasant sounds that
supports the tenderness of the speaker s tone as though the speaker is lulling the child to sleep. The
tender care for the child showcases a mother s unconditional love that supports the child s
development and protect the child in the most vulnerable state of

Please Ignore Vera Dietz Summary
Have you ever changed yourself for someone? Bought clothes that were popular, or changed your
attitude for your friends or parents. Finding yourself when everyone around you is changing,
morphing is one of that things that most people struggle with their entire life and sometimes it defines
us and other times leaves us a pickle on a big mac. Please Ignore Vera Dietz is a novel about Vera the
main protagonist going on with daily life like nothing happened after her best friend Charlie dies. This
novel communicates the idea that you are always not the problem and that you need to step back and
look at what you have, and self acceptance is the key to all your problems.
Contemplation is a commanding thought; it can make things better or worse. Veras first big thought of
contemplation is when her mother left the family, and weather or not it was her fault. It haunts her
father that Sindy left and he dwells on her in the most minuate ways, like keeping her clothes in the
closet or her class china wear on the cabinet. Vera always wonders if its her fault for her mother
leaving because her mother in Veras words never wanted her. She is also confused on what she wants
to do with her life after college, does she want to become a vet or just give up her dreams completely
because everyone thinks that she is just going to become a stripper just like her mother. I struggle with
the same things everyday wondering if my mother would have done if she didn t have me at such a
young age.

The Rising Costs Of The War
The rising costs of the war, coupled with falling oil prices in 1986, led to the use of non oil exports to
generate revenue because oil income was no longer a guaranteed source of foreign currency. To
finance short term debts, Iran drained its small reserve of foreign currency by allowing advance
drawing on revenues. The FY 1987 budget also reflected the priority of the war effort. The
government again promised to curb inflation, to continue to subsidize basic foodstuffs, and to make
billions available to the import sector, presumably for consumer use. The Iranian fiscal year begins on
March 21 and runs through March 20 of the following calendar year. The budget, presented to the
Majlis by the Planning and Budget Organization, consists of three sections: ordinary, plan, and
defense allocations. Because of conflict between the Revolution s stated opposition to the massive
defense expenditures of the shah and the high cost of the war with Iraq that began less than one year
after the Revolution, by late 1987 there had been no fiscal year in which defense expenditures were
not severely understated for domestic political reasons. As a result, attempting to set forth actual
figures on the money supply, especially as a function of fiscal policy, was almost pointless. The
preamble to the Constitution vests supreme authority in the faqih. According to Article 5, the faqih is

upbringing in inner city Detroit to his position as director of pediatric neurosurgery at John Hopkins
Hospital at age 33. The novel foregrounds Carson s struggle to defy all odds aided by his iron will,
tremendous faith, respect, meekness and an unconditional devotion to God.
Carson displayed great determination and dedication from a young age. He thrived to be ahead of his

Lord. A pristine example of Carson s faith is portrayed before a major chemistry final. Although
Carson was unprepared, he laid the situation before God and was able to miraculously score well in
the exam. Carson lived a Christ oriented life and the blessings were endless. His faithfulness
demonstrated the power in living in such a way.
Carson was no ordinary man. His intricate way of thinking was like no other. One of the most obvious
and well known achievement is his concept of incorporating lasers in neurosurgery to nullify
complexities faced whilst operating. He knew there was an easier way and took the initiative to act
upon his ideas. Comparing Carson s accomplishments and initial circumstances serves as living proof
that anyone can be an influential figure in our society.
Carson s radiant demeanor shone throughout the course of his life. His pleasant behavior and respect
for others produced a very likable individual. Although there were countless incidents where Carson
could bad mouth white folk, he never resorted to racial prejudice and whole heartedly believed in
equality amongst everyone.
The problem with many of the intellectually talented is the mentality they withhold which
automatically grants them bragging rights. Carson on the other hand was a silent achiever, very

Summary Of Margaret Atwood s The Victory Burlesk
Madeleine Davies had once said that Margaret Atwood s female bodies are inevitably coded bodies
that tell the story of the subject s experience within a political economy that seeks to consume them,
convert them into consumers in turn, shrink them, neutralize them, silence them, and contain them
physically or metaphorically. (Davies 60). In Margaret Atwood s short story, The Victory Burlesk,
Atwood is showing just that; Atwood is demonstrating how a woman is shrunken, silenced, and
contained. This short story is bringing attention to how people feel shame for women in realization of
reality, and how there is a focus on the Good Woman and the Bad Woman , how Bad Woman are
represented.
The Victory Burlesk is a story in which a woman is on stage and reveals herself as an elderly woman,
putting on a show for one another to watch, a show in which people in the audience began to feel
shame about. I could feel shame washing through me. (Atwood 20 21), there is a woman on the stage,
making herself vulnerable for everyone to see, and yet others are shameful in this situation. Why do
others feel shame? Because there is a realization that this woman is real. That that is a actual body up
there, one that no one wants to sexualize anymore due to her age and appearance. But also because
they are not properly showing the representation of how women are shown on stage. Difference can
make one feel uncomfortable, to the point they feel shame for another person. It was seen as if

Private Ryan Reflection
Saving Private Ryan Generally I m not interested in war movies, but recently I had the opportunity to
watch Saving Private Ryan. Despite my initial reservations, I thought that this movie was great
because it showed all the facets of war and illustrated the emotions involved in war. It began with
really gory scenes at Omaha Beach as part of the Normandy Invasion during World War II; This wasn
t my favorite part, but it s a real part of war so it was important that they included it. As the movie
continued, it went on to display the bond that occurs when men fight together in combat and the tough
decisions that have to be made during the course of a war. This movie took place during World War II,
specifically during D Day, in France. The movie follows Captain John H. Miller and a squad of seven
men as they search for a paratrooper, Private Ryan. General George Marshall learns that three out of
four brothers of the Ryan Family were killed In World War II and the fourth was missing when he
went into France on D Day. He orders Captain Miller to find the missing brother and send him home
so the Ryan family doesn t lose all of their children. Captain Ryan and his squad set out to find the
missing soldier, although some of the soldiers have reservations about going. Throughout the journey
they encounter other squads of U.S. troops and come across some German troops as well. We also find
that Captain Miller must also make hard decisions not only for the good of his squad but

Comparing Hinduism Christianity And Islam

Looking at Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam on a Boarder Scale
Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism all share similarities, but they also share differences as well.
Christianity and Islam are Abrahamic religions. Hinduism on the other hand originated from the
eastern part of the world. Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam are all religions who have guidelines on
what they consider their right way of living in order to achieve an afterlife.
While reading these four assigned readings, there were more similarities between Islam and
Christianity. Hinduism is more along with itself because it is almost the complete opposite. Each of
these religions believe in good and evil, and they also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like the Hindus, the Christians and the Muslims believed that if you do good that good things will
happen to you. All three beliefs give their followers guidelines on how to live right so good things can
happen to them. In Christianity, the good people can go to heaven. In Matthew 7:21, Jesus says in his
sermon, Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one
who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. You have to do the will of God in order to get to
heaven. In the law of Karma, the Hindu faith believes when you do well on earth that you can be
reincarnated into something better than when you were here on earth. Of course since good things
happen to those who do good, bad things happen to those who don t do as well. For Christians, the not
so good people can go to hell, and in the Hindu faith the non believers can be reincarnated into
something worse than that of an insect. The Muslims believe just like Christians that there is a force of

Ambulatory Care Center Case Study
Introduction In this assignment, we are asked to act as a chief operating officer of a hospital tasked
with opening a new ambulatory care center in my city. We will specify a perspective of choice which
are either professional autonomy, social contract, or free market. Describe at least two (2) advantages
and two (2) disadvantages of your chosen perspective. Provide at least two (2) examples of the
perspective in action to support your response. Additionally, analyze three (3) key components sources
of law related to the effects that each source could potentially have on your healthcare organization s
new initiative. Next, I have chosen the free market perspective to explain how a new ambulatory care
center in my city of Stone Mountain, Georgia would be beneficial. The other positions of professional
autonomy, and social contract are not bad perspectives but, in this case a free market model is the best
perspective that would serve the Stone Mountain community. Overall, this assignment will focus on
how the free market model allows and encourages the growth of an ambulatory care center in this city.

The matching techniques just discussed reveal feasible alternative strategies. Many of these strategies
will likely have been proposed by managers and employees participating in the strategy analysis and
choice activity. Any additional strategies resulting from the matching analyses could be discussed and
added to the list of feasible alternative options. As indicated earlier in this chapter, participants could

Step 6 Compute the Sum Total Attractiveness Score. Add Total Attractiveness Scores in each strategy
column of the QSPM. The Sum Total Attractiveness Scores reveal which strategy is most attractive in
each set of alternatives. Higher scores indicate more attractive strategies, considering all the relevant
external and internal factors that could affect the strategic decisions. The magnitude of the difference
between the Sum Total Attractiveness Scores in a given set of strategic alternatives indicates the
relative desirability of one strategy over another. Limitations of QSPM A limitation of the QSPM is
that it can be only as good as the prerequisite information and matching analyses upon which it is
based. Another limitation is that it requires good judgment in assigning attractiveness scores. Also, the
sum total attractiveness scores can be really close such that a final decision is not clear. Like all
analytical tools however, the QSPM should not dictate decisions but rather should be developed as
input into the owner s final decision. Advantages of QSPM A QSPM provides a framework to

Curb appeal! Fresh flowers and plants add seasonal interest to your home. You will always be in
control when you garden in containers, from temperature, to sunlight, to soil types, to water quality.
What should I look for in a container? If you re buying a container, you must consider the material and
size carefully before making a decision. Size matters! Consider what you d like to plant before
deciding on the size of container you need. If you are growing herbs, you may want something small.
If you have some outdoor space and want to grow some fruits and vegetables, clearly you want a
bigger container. Your container must have drainage holes. If you re repurposing or recycling a
disused household item for a container, an old glass carafe might not be a good idea. However, your
child s discarded Easter basket may be just right. You can drill the holes yourself, but again, you need
a container made of material that will withstand drilling. Synthetic materials are the most obvious
choice inexpensive, easy to find, light and portable, retain water well, and easy to clean.
Plastic/fiberglass planters are plentiful, you can pick them up anywhere. With the technology today,
synthetic materials can be designed, molded, and colored to have the look of the more expensive
options with the ease and convenience of synthetic materials. Synthetic materials are also
customizable by you if you re a little artistic, or willing to experiment, you can make these materials

The First Phase Model For Strategic Planning Essay
The first phase of Patrick Sanaghan s (2009) five phase model for strategic planning is getting
organized. The first part of this phase consists of the president putting together a planning task force
PTF. Sanaghan (2009) argues that the PTF should be co chaired by one high level faculty member, and
one senior administrator. The rest of the task force 20 30 members should be comprised of a diverse
mixture of faculty and staff, who represent a wide variety of groups on campus (Sanaghan, 2009).
Once established, Sanaghan (2009) argues that the PTF should formulate a year long schedule of
planning events and also develop a transparent, easily accessible, communication system. Next, the
PTF must partake in an engaging training session where they will learn about the strategic planning
process and collaborative meeting strategies.(Sanaghan, 2009). The second phase consists of gathering
data and engaging all stakeholders in the process. Sanaghan (2009) explains that the intended outcome
of this phase is to connect stakeholders in an engaging, interactive environment, that fosters the
development of ideas. He believes that data gathering should primarily be collected through face to
face interaction, with secondary use of surveys (Sanaghan, 2009). One way interaction can be
facilitated is through planning updates, which Sanaghan (2009) describes as an interactive discussion
process among campus stakeholders. At these updates, the present status of planning should be

Movie Reflection
This film exemplifies the group dynamic by, showing how the characters in the movie interact with
each other especially since they all come from different sociological groups in their school. In the
beginning, it was difficult for them to get along. The characters in the movie are Claire Standish, who
was in detention for skipping school to go shopping. Brian Johnson, was in detention for having a gun
in his locker. Allison Reynolds, was in detention because she had nothing else to do. Andrew Clark,
was in detention for tapping another student s butt cheeks together. and Jon Bender, was in detention
for pulling the fire alarm. The characters moved to being an in group when they realized that they can
all relate to each other s personal experience like dealing with problems at home, dealing with peer
pressure at school and trying to please their parents. By the end of the movie, They definitely seemed
to matured in their attitudes and their actions talking about each one of their issues together seemed to
have helped them a little become better people. Claire Standish learned to be more generous and
helpful she also learned how to not give into peer pressure. Brian Johnson, learned that getting one
bad grade isn t such a big deal, he also made friends. Allison Reynolds, has a new positive outlook on
life and herself. Andrew Clark, learned that he doesn t have to pretend to be someone he s not. Jon
Bender, learned that he can open up to people and form healthy relationships.

Different Types Of Movements Are Performed During Ballet...
Many different types of movements are performed during ballet dancing. One of the most common
types of move is a turn, commonly referred to as a pirouette. A pirouette is a french term that was
started around the seventeen hundreds to mean a dancer turning (Lim, 2015). Pirouette is a general
description of a turn. Some detailed examples of pirouettes are en dedans, en dehors, attitudes,
arabesque turns, grande pirouettes, fouettés, and vertical pirouettes (Law, 2014). During the
Renaissance era in sixteenth century Italy, vertical pirouettes were developed for ballets. When a
dancer begins dance classes a vertical pirouette, it is one the first movements that they will learn. This
paper is about how to perform the vertical pirouette movement correctly as described in biomechanics
terms. Pirouettes are turns that can be executed in either direction of rotation. There are five different
phases for a pirouette. The phases are the preliminary phase, recovery phase, force producing phase,
the critical instant phase, and the follow through phase. Each phase had a different biomechanical
principle that is applied, some phases could have more then one principle. During the preliminary
phase, there is hip rotation, knee flexion, foot dorsiflexion with placement in the dominant and non
dominant. A dance wants their support to have a wide base and also they need to have a low center of
gravity. The movement for the arms are abduction and extension with the thumb retracted in behind

Richard E. Walton s Article
1. Control: Design and Diagnosis Richard E. Walton s article From control to commitment in the
workplace is a groundbreaking work which advocates that managers evolve from using the control
strategy to ultimately adopting the commitment strategy. The discussion below considers his
description of a control organization by looking at a case study. The case study which will be put
under the microscope for the discussion focuses on developments which have led to degradation in
how the workforce is managed at the Slade Company. By highlighting elements of their approach used
to manage employees, and then providing examples, it will be clear that control strategy was being

and he does not have anyone to fill his role. This resulted in workers leaving work before their shift
was up, and having a co worker clock out for them. Otto was also not able to control how workers
interpersonal relations and their performance. There were informal groups created and in the case of
the group led by Tony Sarto, they interacted mostly among themselves, to the detriment of division
and against what was the norm within the company. For instance, when the group did overtime on the
weekends, they operated as a team regardless of work assignments (Slade, p.3). The hierarchy
mechanism was also flawed because, Otto s brother, Herman Schell lacked proper supervision. This is
compounded by the fact that all of the 38 workers in the plating division had to be overseen by one
person, without support. Within a control organization there is also the notion that work is mainly to
get a fair day s pay for a fair day s work; managers see workers as a variable cost (Walton, p.78). At
Slade this was evident in how workers were perceived and compensated. They were paid $1.25 an
hour for 60 hours a week and were paid at the overtime rate for hours exceeding then normal 60 hours.
Exhibit 5 which is the Plating Room Personnel chart provides a deeper understanding of how
management viewed workers as a variable cost. It shows how workers are ranked and considers their

Character Development Of Tomas, Tereza, Sabina And Franz
Memory can be defined as information retained about the past events and experiences. As Craig D.
Lounsbrough once said, Our experiences are the building blocks of the future hewn out of the granite
of the present. In other words, our memories are what morphs us into who we are and who we will
become. In the novel, Kundera suggests that the memory of our past greatly affects who we are in the
future since humans are inherently historical. As the novel progresses, the reader discovers that
decisions and life choices made by the major characters are influenced by their past life experiences.
The character development of Tomas, Tereza, Sabina and Franz can be attributed to their past events
that occurred in their lives.
Tomas cannot live in the present because his past fetters him. After being divorced for ten years and
losing his relationship with his son and family, he comes to conclusion that his life is not designed to
stay side by side with any woman. His fear and desire of women made him decide not to be intimate
with any other woman (Kundera 10). This fear and desire of women made him devise what he called
erotic friendship. Erotic friendship allowed him to sleep with other women with no strings attached. It
is evident that the memory of his past is the reason why he becomes a womanizer. Tomas can no
longer settle down with one woman. He lives his life by the rule of 3 s that is; he sees a woman three
times in quick succession and then never again or he maintains

Examples Of Invasive Species In Ontario
Introduced species are seldom a positive addition to an ecosystem as they cause great stress and harm
to the populations of native species. Many introduced species become invasive as they have no natural
predators in their new environment, therefore they thrive, and crowd out all other animals. Some
examples of invasive species in Ontario waters include the round goby, zebra mussels, eurasian ruffe,
goldfish, northern snakehead, rainbow smelt, and rudd, to name a few. A great example to show how
destructive an introduced fish can be is the asian carp, this species spreads very aggressively and it is
considered the greatest threat to aquatic ecosystems in Ontario. These fish grow to be very large in
size, up to 40 kg and 1 meter long. The asian

Annotated Bibliography On Nuclear Weapons
United States[edit]
Main articles: Nuclear weapons and the United States and United States and weapons of mass
destruction
The United States developed the first atomic weapons, during World War II in cooperation with the
United Kingdom and Canada as part of the Manhattan Project, out of the fear that Nazi Germany
would develop them first. It tested the first nuclear weapon in 1945 ( Trinity ), and remains the only
country to have used nuclear weapons against an enemy state in warfare, devastating the Japanese
cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was the first nation to develop the hydrogen bomb, testing an
experimental prototype in 1952 ( Ivy Mike ) and a deployable weapon in 1954 ( Castle Bravo ).
Throughout the Cold War it continued to modernize and enlarge its nuclear arsenal, but from 1992 on
has been involved primarily in a program of Stockpile stewardship.[28][29][30] The U.S. nuclear

Hakinschmit was, at the time, considered unbeatable in his native Russia. He had unknowingly set the
stage for the showboating that goes on today, by having strong man competitions that he won and
having connections to Hollywood types. His matches with
American Frank Gotch marked the high point and the end of pro wrestling as a real sport.
Gotch used a crippling ankle lock (the same that The Worlds Most Dangerous Man Ken
Shamrock uses) and got Hakinschmit to surrender the title. Hakinschmit then cried foul, saying Gotch
had oiled his body before the match. Before the rematch, Gotch paid a
German hooker $5,000 to increase his chances of winning. No, not a hooker according to the present
day definition, but a dangerous wrestler who could cripple people in a heartbeat with illegal moves.
When the German, Ed Santell, wrestled Hakinschmit in a friendly training match, Santell ravaged his
opponent s knee with the ankle lock. When
Hakinschmit got in the ring that night, he had no chance of winning. When it was over, the
newspapers found out about Gotch s manipulations and the sport s popularity declined. People tired of
going to a match at 7:00 and leaving at 12:00. They were just too long. The public wanted more
action. As a real sport, it s value was gone, but the entertainment value was just beginning.

Differences Between An Imperative Programming Language And...
Describe the differences between an imperative programming language and a non imperative
programming language. Imperative languages are based on the sequential execution of instructions
that direct the computer system what steps to take in order to come up with a solution to a problem.
This is achieved by the programmer setting states, such as assigning data to memory, altering states,
and controlling the sequence of instructions (University of the People, n.d.). In order to achieve this,
the programmer must have a complete plan of the process the computer will use achieve a solution.
Issues that can arise with imperative languages are side effects caused by the status of states being
altered in some unintentional fashion because the computer is executing the instructions, as outlined,
by the programmer. In non imperative languages, the necessity of controlling the sequence of
execution is less important. Attention in the language is instead focused on what data is needed, what
the problem is, and what result output you are looking for. The programmer needs to be able to define
the problem and result for which they are seeking a solution, but the computer decides, based on built
in functions of the language, how to return the solution to the problem. As no states are altered as part
of non imperative languages programs, there are no issues with side effects (University of the People,
n.d.). Discuss an example of where you would use an imperative language and a situation

The Future Of The Us Dollar
The Future of the US Dollar in the International Market A society based on trade was established as
early as 4000 B.C.E. (Hunt 6). However, the end of the Cold War marked the beginning of a new
stage, an economy fully supported by globalization (Gilpin 10 12). This new beginning for the
economy made the international markets the central focus of the economy. Since the gold standard had
crushed, the US dollar became the official exchange standard and also the most used currency in the
world. Currently, its status of international currency remains the same, but the international market has

This decrease can be due to the economic problems that the United States faced during the decade of
the 2000 s, the Financial Market Crisis, and is still battling to recover from, or due to the increase of
power and popularity of other countries and their currencies, such as the countries that make up the
European Union (Goldberg). The concept of the world money is organically linked to an
understanding of the world market as the fundamental framework of global capitalism where profit
rates are equalized and an average world market rate of profit is established (Ivanova 51 52). The
world market became the main focus of the world s super power countries as well as developing
countries. As Karl Marx s theory of money establishes, money is not only a measure of value or a
medium of change, when it becomes world money, it becomes the absolute social materialization of
wealth as such (universal wealth) (qtd. in Ivanova 51). One of the main characteristics of world money
that applies to the US dollar today is that it is a dominant currency in international financial markets
that is also used hand to hand in foreign countries (Auboin). Bitcoin was created in 2009 as an
international currency to make digital transactions easier and faster(Yellin). This computerized money
exists only as strings of digital code ( A New Specie ). This currency is used without intermediaries

Coca Cola And Its Impact On Society
Coca Cola a leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of soft drink products. Coca Cola was not

Georgia Coca Cola was originally named Pemberton s French Wine Coca. Dr. Pemberton marketed
the drink as a cure all for mental and physical disorders and was sold from a soda fountain at his local

in the United States of America. Coca Cola as we know today still contains coca but the narcotic
portion of cocaine, it is removed. Today, Coca Cola has expanded to over 200+ countries. From
concerts to sport venues to local restaurants you are more than likely to come across a Coca Cola
product, Coca Cola has had such an impact on society that it is given credit for how we portray Santa

Have you ever had a situation where you think telling the truth will get you in trouble, however lying

It was a snowy, January afternoon several years ago when my brother and I were playing in the snow
at my grandparent s house. I was digging in a massive mountain of snow. I was trying to make a snow

airtight fit. Then I reached my hand back into it to pull the pumpkin out, and it just pushed the
pumpkin farther back into the pipe. The stubborn pumpkin wouldn t come out! I panicked for what
seemed like an eternity, thinking about what kinds of punishments I would receive if someone found
out. But if nobody found out, I wouldn t have to face any punishments. So, I decided that I wouldn t
tell anyone about what had just happened. After it got dark I met back up with my brother who was

that we made and how many snowballs we were getting ready. Then he asked, Did you find any
pumpkins in the snow? I Knew he discovered what I did, but I thought that I should just play dumb. I
said, No pumpkins at all. Why would you think that I found any pumpkins? He said right back, I

The Absurd
The Absurd: What then is implied by the idea of the Absurd? In spite of the view passed on by pop
culture, the Absurd, in any event not what Camus had expressed, that it doesn t just allude to some
dubious discernment that current life is full of mysteries, incoherencies, and scholarly disarray. Rather,
as he accentuates and tries to clarify, the Absurd communicates an essential disharmony, a deplorable
contrariness, in our reality. As a result, he contends that the Absurd is the result of an impact or
showdown between our human yearning for request, which means, and reason in life and the clear,
impassive quiet of the universe : The crazy is not in man nor on the planet, but rather in their nearness
together... it is the main bond joining them. (The Myth of Sisyphus, Chapter 2, Absurd Walls) The
Revolt: The buddy subject to the Absurd in Camus oeuvre is Revolt. What is revolt? Essentially

Osmosis Egg Lab
Question:
What effect do different concentrations of a sugar solution have on the egg and its weight?
Background Research: Osmosis is the passive transport of water across a selectively permeable
membrane from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Other than the
concentration gradient, a factor that affects osmosis is temperature. The higher the temperature, the
faster osmosis takes place. Osmosis doesn t require energy for it to take place. However, osmosis does
have a requirement of a membrane for it to take place. In the case of an egg, the membrane would be
the shell of the egg that is almost completely made of calcium carbonate. If a solution has more solute,
then it is hypertonic. If a solution has more solvent, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I learned that movement in osmosis goes from a hypotonic solution to a hypertonic solution.
Therefore, if the egg absorbed water and increased its mass, it would be hypertonic and the solution
would be hypotonic. If the egg lost water and decreased its mass, it would be hypotonic and the
solution would be hypertonic. An example of how it relates to our everyday life is how osmosis occurs
when boiling spaghetti. When spaghetti is placed in a pot of boiling water, it absorbs water to take the
form of many loose spaghetti strands. This happens due to osmosis because the boiling water doesn t
have any solute compared to the spaghetti. That means the spaghetti is a hypertonic solution, while the
boiling water is a hypotonic solution because the water was absorbed from the pot (hypotonic) to the
spaghetti (hypertonic). If I were to do an experiment that is related to this one, I would like to learn
more about the other factors that affect

Differences Of Geert Hofstede Six Dimensions Of Cultures
Every country has their way of thinking when it comes to working. Some country work and think
differently from others. Using Geert Hofstede Six Dimension s of Cultures, I ll compare and contrast
the differences between China and the United States on how they impact work relationships.
The first dimension s of cultures in Geert Hofstede is Power Distance. This dimension deals with the
fact that all individuals in societies are not equal it expresses the attitude of the cultures towards these
inequalities amongst us (Hofstede, 2017). The differences between these two are that China in this
dimension (Power Distance) scores an 80, while the United States scores a 40. China believes that

In the American organizations, superiors are accessible and managers rely on individual employees
and teams for their expertise (Hofstede, 2017). Communications is important and the American people
look after themselves and their immediate families only and should not rely on authorities for support.
American men s don t like to develop deep friendships, but the Americans aren t shy to approach
another person when obtaining or seeking information. The Americans also believe that promotion
and decisions are based on merit or evidence of what one has done or can do (Hofstede, 2017).
Masculinity indicates that a high score indicates that the society will be driven by competition,
achievement, and success, with success being defined by winner / best in the field a value system that
starts in school and continues throughout organizational life (Hofstede, 2017). A low score means that
the dominant values in society are caring for others and quality of life. Also, it is the sign of success
and standing out from the crowd is not admirable. This is the third dimension on Geert Hofstede Six
Dimensions of Cultures.
In this dimension, China scores a 66 while the United States scores a 62. China is a success oriented
and driven society. Leisure time is not important to them as they will work hard just to provide for

  • 4. Assess The Impact Of Web-Based Communication On Public... The impact of web based communication on public attitudes and political policy making has grown from small to large. With web based communication, people are able to get information out to a larger quantity of people throughout the world. The impact is so great because we no longer need to rely on word of mouth or the media and their personal views. Now everyone can get involved and go online to get information. As stated in the article (the impact of web based communication on election and political policy making). Technology allows for the mass distribution of a one way message from one to many. There are many different views. One being that laws and policies could be formulated allowing political power. However, this power would need ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The data show that on twitter, political talk is highly partisan, where users clusters are characterized by homogenous views and are linked to information sources. The more tweets on twitter, the more the content or information is likely to be one sided. The other source of information is face book. Many of these sites are viewed by the younger generation, who are into technology more so than the older generation. This is causing many changes in the impact of web based communication. • 5. Outline Of An Overall Theory According to www.merriam webster.com the term crime is defined as: an illegal act for which someone can be punished by the government . Some individuals in our society commit some type of crime every day, but why? In this assignment I will try to compile an overall theory as to why individuals commit crimes. While doing my research I came across 10 reasons/factors that can possibly explain why individuals commit crimes. These reasons include: The Prison System, drugs, depression and other social and mental disorders, family conditions, regionalism, T.V. violence, racism, politics, poverty, and overpopulation. The prison system is a major cause of crime because many prisons do not offer rehabilitation programs so that criminals can at least try to or learn how to become a better individual in society. Jails or prisons typically tend to make individuals worse due to the harsh conditions that exist within the jails and prisons; especially when in some prisons and jails +survive. This of course leads to criminals committing crime within a prison or jail. Drugs are also a major reason as to why individuals commit crime. When an individual is addicted to drugs they will commit any crime necessary in order to support their drug habit. Also, there are many individuals who are drug dealers who are highly involved in the drug trade; drug dealers will typically commit any crime when it comes to their drug product and their profits. Typically the main reason or factor as to why ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Ethical Leadership in 21st Century Global Organizations Ethical Leadership in 21st Century Global Organisations Introduction: Business leadership is inherently challenging, calling for an individual or collective of leaders with a strong sense of organization, a critical understanding of the internal peculiarities of a given operation and a firm recognition of the ever shifting external conditions contextualizing the business. The demands incumbent upon organizational leadership require an integration of vision, pragmatism, strategic orientation and ethicality. However, as the circumstances shaping the global business environment shift, so too do the nature of these various demands. This is the condition at the center of the current reading and research on ethical leadership in 21st century global orgnisations. For effective leadership to achieve survival, let alone success, in a context where the collision of varying cultural, legal and ethical dispositions has come to influence decision making, it is necessary to acknowledge and adapt to a more global understanding of achieving organizational goals. As the discussion here will demonstrate, there is a distinct ethical complexity to this adaptation. • 7. Functionalism And Funtionalism In The Holocaust Introduction Functionalism versus intentionalism is a long lasting debate originating from the end of World War Two in 1945. It analyses the Third Reich and the way it s leaders approached foreign policy at the time, mainly concerning the Holocaust. There are two dominant theories to the background behind the horrific events of the Holocaust that took lives of 6 million Jews and millions of other ethnic minorities. Historians have ever since searched for evidence of the reasons behind these abominations executed by Adolf Hitler, was solely Hitler behind the Holocaust or was it the men working for his regime? In this essay I will analyse the evidence in favor for both of the theories suggested in the question and the evidence produced to support them, as well as the views of the historians at that time and now. There are two competing theories functionalist and intentionalism, however the main difficulty occurs considering the fact that there is lack of evidence on the main perpetrator behind the Jewish question (Draper, 1999, p.14). Since no single Führerbefehl (order from the Führer) has ever been found, or is ever likely to be found, historians have debated the centrality of Hitler to the development of Nazi Jewish policy (Stone, 2004, p.2) Functionalism Theory of functionalism was greatly contributed by Marxist historian Timothy Mason, whose views shined light off of Hitler being the sole mastermind behind the Holocaust, and towards the Nazi organization ... • 8. Christianity And Religion In Beowulf And The Canterbury Tales Throughout the Middle Ages, religion was a major theme in the literature of that time. Works such as Beowulf and The Canterbury Tales are examples of this theme in action, but in very different ways. God is seen purely as goodness in Beowulf, and everything that God approves of is good as well. Contrarily, The Canterbury Tales satirizes religion by showing members of the church in a negative manner and debating the teachings of the Bible, the latter particularly in The Wife of Bath s Prologue. Despite these different takes on Christianity, the characters in both stories sin, yet are defended. Both Beowulf and The Wife of Bath s Prologue contain different defenses of the protagonist s sin, to varying degrees of success. Beowulf s sins revolve around personality traits, namely his boastfulness and greed, however the author does not acknowledge this sin. First and foremost, it must be made clear that these sins truly exist in Beowulf and are in opposition to Christian morals, regardless of whether or not the author condemns them. Upon his arrival in Heorot, Beowulf s conversation with Unferth demonstrates how his pride and boastfulness is integral to his reputation. Unferth asks, Are you the Beowulf who took on Breca / in a swimming match on the open sea, / risking the water just to prove that you could win? / It was sheer vanity made you venture out / on the main deep, (Beowulf 506 510). Philadelphia Centennial Of 1876 Research Paper The Philadelphia Centennial of 1876 is the origin starting point for a rebirth of the colonial architectural heritage of America and the early English and Dutch houses of the Atlantic seaboard. The increasing popularity of colonial influences on contemporary architecture motivated a highly publicized tour of a group of architects in 1877 who observed and recorded Georgian and Federal houses of New England. The simplicity of colonial designs and honest use of materials with more economical plans than the recently popular picturesque homes also contributed to the growing popularity of the style. State Judicial Structures Assessing the Impact of State Judicial Structures on Citizens Litigiousness by Jeff Yates, Holley Tankersley, and Paul Brace describes the structure of the state judicial courts with its dependence on certain internal and external principles that will influence the overall participation of individual s litigation cases. The authors main question explores the role that state legal institutions played in explaining state variation in legal mobilization. (Yates, Tankersley, Brace, 2010, 796) The authors postulate this question because they believe that differences in the elemental structure of the judicial system affect the degree to which citizens involve the legal system for redress. • 12. Definition Of The Assertive Discipline Model Lee Canter was born in 1947. Lee Canter made the assertive discipline model this is also known as an approach for classroom behavioral management for practitioners to use to control behaviour. The approach involves a high level of controlled teaching in the day to day classroom life. this approach is also known as the take control approach for teaching, as is allows teachers in the classroom to take control in a classroom using a positive attitude. It allows teacher to do this as it sets rules and directions that are clear for practitioners to use within the setting. These rules and directions will give practitioners the knowledge to know what is appropriate and un appropriate behavior, the practitioner will therefore be able to help the children understand what kind of behaviour is expected form students when they are in school. This approach is used to have a better understanding on how adult s affect children s behaviour, to do this they will have to show an assertive response by showing clear discipline. Example of how to show this would be to have rules set in place and consequences for if these rules are not followed or if negative behavior is shown by students. These consequences are clearly explained to the children and young people that are in the setting so they will know what will happen if they do not follow the rules. The setting will be promoting positive behavior to the children in their care, the adults will be role model in showing the children in what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Finding yourself when everyone around you is changing, morphing is one of that things that most people struggle with their entire life and sometimes it defines us and other times leaves us a pickle on a big mac. Please Ignore Vera Dietz is a novel about Vera the main protagonist going on with daily life like nothing happened after her best friend Charlie dies. This novel communicates the idea that you are always not the problem and that you need to step back and look at what you have, and self acceptance is the key to all your problems. Contemplation is a commanding thought; it can make things better or worse. Veras first big thought of contemplation is when her mother left the family, and weather or not it was her fault. It haunts her father that Sindy left and he dwells on her in the most minuate ways, like keeping her clothes in the closet or her class china wear on the cabinet. Vera always wonders if its her fault for her mother leaving because her mother in Veras words never wanted her. She is also confused on what she wants to do with her life after college, does she want to become a vet or just give up her dreams completely because everyone thinks that she is just going to become a stripper just like her mother. The Rising Costs Of The War The rising costs of the war, coupled with falling oil prices in 1986, led to the use of non oil exports to generate revenue because oil income was no longer a guaranteed source of foreign currency. To finance short term debts, Iran drained its small reserve of foreign currency by allowing advance drawing on revenues. The FY 1987 budget also reflected the priority of the war effort. The government again promised to curb inflation, to continue to subsidize basic foodstuffs, and to make billions available to the import sector, presumably for consumer use. The Iranian fiscal year begins on March 21 and runs through March 20 of the following calendar year. The budget, presented to the Majlis by the Planning and Budget Organization, consists of three sections: ordinary, plan, and defense allocations. Because of conflict between the Revolution s stated opposition to the massive defense expenditures of the shah and the high cost of the war with Iraq that began less than one year after the Revolution, by late 1987 there had been no fiscal year in which defense expenditures were not severely understated for domestic political reasons. • 19. Summary Of Margaret Atwood s The Victory Burlesk Madeleine Davies had once said that Margaret Atwood s female bodies are inevitably coded bodies that tell the story of the subject s experience within a political economy that seeks to consume them, convert them into consumers in turn, shrink them, neutralize them, silence them, and contain them physically or metaphorically. (Davies 60). In Margaret Atwood s short story, The Victory Burlesk, Atwood is showing just that; Atwood is demonstrating how a woman is shrunken, silenced, and contained. This short story is bringing attention to how people feel shame for women in realization of reality, and how there is a focus on the Good Woman and the Bad Woman , how Bad Woman are represented. The Victory Burlesk is a story in which a woman is on stage and reveals herself as an elderly woman, putting on a show for one another to watch, a show in which people in the audience began to feel shame about. I could feel shame washing through me. (Atwood 20 21), there is a woman on the stage, making herself vulnerable for everyone to see, and yet others are shameful in this situation. Why do others feel shame? Because there is a realization that this woman is real. That that is a actual body up there, one that no one wants to sexualize anymore due to her age and appearance. The first part of this phase consists of the president putting together a planning task force PTF. Sanaghan (2009) argues that the PTF should be co chaired by one high level faculty member, and one senior administrator. The rest of the task force 20 30 members should be comprised of a diverse mixture of faculty and staff, who represent a wide variety of groups on campus (Sanaghan, 2009). Once established, Sanaghan (2009) argues that the PTF should formulate a year long schedule of planning events and also develop a transparent, easily accessible, communication system. Next, the PTF must partake in an engaging training session where they will learn about the strategic planning process and collaborative meeting strategies.(Sanaghan, 2009). The second phase consists of gathering data and engaging all stakeholders in the process. Sanaghan (2009) explains that the intended outcome of this phase is to connect stakeholders in an engaging, interactive environment, that fosters the development of ideas. He believes that data gathering should primarily be collected through face to face interaction, with secondary use of surveys (Sanaghan, 2009). One way interaction can be facilitated is through planning updates, which Sanaghan (2009) describes as an interactive discussion process among campus stakeholders. For instance, when the group did overtime on the weekends, they operated as a team regardless of work assignments (Slade, p.3). The hierarchy mechanism was also flawed because, Otto s brother, Herman Schell lacked proper supervision. This is compounded by the fact that all of the 38 workers in the plating division had to be overseen by one person, without support. Within a control organization there is also the notion that work is mainly to get a fair day s pay for a fair day s work; managers see workers as a variable cost (Walton, p.78). At Slade this was evident in how workers were perceived and compensated. They were paid $1.25 an hour for 60 hours a week and were paid at the overtime rate for hours exceeding then normal 60 hours. Lounsbrough once said, Our experiences are the building blocks of the future hewn out of the granite of the present. In other words, our memories are what morphs us into who we are and who we will become. In the novel, Kundera suggests that the memory of our past greatly affects who we are in the future since humans are inherently historical. As the novel progresses, the reader discovers that decisions and life choices made by the major characters are influenced by their past life experiences. The character development of Tomas, Tereza, Sabina and Franz can be attributed to their past events that occurred in their lives. Tomas cannot live in the present because his past fetters him. After being divorced for ten years and losing his relationship with his son and family, he comes to conclusion that his life is not designed to stay side by side with any woman. His fear and desire of women made him decide not to be intimate with any other woman (Kundera 10). This fear and desire of women made him devise what he called erotic friendship. Erotic friendship allowed him to sleep with other women with no strings attached. It is evident that the memory of his past is the reason why he becomes a womanizer. Tomas can no longer settle down with one woman. He lives his life by the rule of 3 s that is; he sees a woman three times in quick succession and then never again or he maintains ... Many introduced species become invasive as they have no natural predators in their new environment, therefore they thrive, and crowd out all other animals. Annotated Bibliography On Nuclear Weapons United States[edit] Main articles: Nuclear weapons and the United States and United States and weapons of mass destruction The United States developed the first atomic weapons, during World War II in cooperation with the United Kingdom and Canada as part of the Manhattan Project, out of the fear that Nazi Germany would develop them first. It tested the first nuclear weapon in 1945 ( Trinity ), and remains the only country to have used nuclear weapons against an enemy state in warfare, devastating the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was the first nation to develop the hydrogen bomb, testing an experimental prototype in 1952 ( Ivy Mike ) and a deployable weapon in 1954 ( Castle Bravo ). Throughout the Cold War it continued to modernize and enlarge its nuclear arsenal, but from 1992 on has been involved primarily in a program of Stockpile stewardship.[28][29][30] The U.S. nuclear arsenal contained 31,175 warheads at its Cold War ... • 35. Differences Between An Imperative Programming Language And... Describe the differences between an imperative programming language and a non imperative programming language. Imperative languages are based on the sequential execution of instructions that direct the computer system what steps to take in order to come up with a solution to a problem. This is achieved by the programmer setting states, such as assigning data to memory, altering states, and controlling the sequence of instructions (University of the People, n.d.). In order to achieve this, the programmer must have a complete plan of the process the computer will use achieve a solution. Issues that can arise with imperative languages are side effects caused by the status of states being altered in some unintentional fashion because the computer is executing the instructions, as outlined, by the programmer. In non imperative languages, the necessity of controlling the sequence of execution is less important. Attention in the language is instead focused on what data is needed, what the problem is, and what result output you are looking for. The programmer needs to be able to define the problem and result for which they are seeking a solution, but the computer decides, based on built in functions of the language, how to return the solution to the problem. As no states are altered as part of non imperative languages programs, there are no issues with side effects (University of the People, n.d.). One of the main characteristics of world money that applies to the US dollar today is that it is a dominant currency in international financial markets that is also used hand to hand in foreign countries (Auboin). Then I reached my hand back into it to pull the pumpkin out, and it just pushed the pumpkin farther back into the pipe. The stubborn pumpkin wouldn t come out! I panicked for what seemed like an eternity, thinking about what kinds of punishments I would receive if someone found out. But if nobody found out, I wouldn t have to face any punishments. In spite of the view passed on by pop culture, the Absurd, in any event not what Camus had expressed, that it doesn t just allude to some dubious discernment that current life is full of mysteries, incoherencies, and scholarly disarray. Rather, as he accentuates and tries to clarify, the Absurd communicates an essential disharmony, a deplorable contrariness, in our reality. As a result, he contends that the Absurd is the result of an impact or showdown between our human yearning for request, which means, and reason in life and the clear, impassive quiet of the universe : The crazy is not in man nor on the planet, but rather in their nearness together... it is the main bond joining them. Background Research: Osmosis is the passive transport of water across a selectively permeable membrane from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Other than the concentration gradient, a factor that affects osmosis is temperature. The higher the temperature, the faster osmosis takes place. Osmosis doesn t require energy for it to take place. However, osmosis does have a requirement of a membrane for it to take place. In the case of an egg, the membrane would be the shell of the egg that is almost completely made of calcium carbonate. I learned that movement in osmosis goes from a hypotonic solution to a hypertonic solution. Therefore, if the egg absorbed water and increased its mass, it would be hypertonic and the solution would be hypotonic. If the egg lost water and decreased its mass, it would be hypotonic and the solution would be hypertonic. An example of how it relates to our everyday life is how osmosis occurs when boiling spaghetti. When spaghetti is placed in a pot of boiling water, it absorbs water to take the form of many loose spaghetti strands. This happens due to osmosis because the boiling water doesn t have any solute compared to the spaghetti. That means the spaghetti is a hypertonic solution, while the boiling water is a hypotonic solution because the water was absorbed from the pot (hypotonic) to the spaghetti (hypertonic).
