The Impact Of Media And Instructional Technology On...
Position paper on the impact of Media and Instructional Technology on Student Learning There have
been many debates, among researchers, in the past on technology and the impact that it has on
learning. However, there is one debate that, after over nearly two decades, is still being discussed to
this day. The debate of Clark Kozma has been of great significance to researchers in the past and
present. As new and improved technology is introduced, many researchers have focused their study on
this debate to prove or disprove the findings of Richard Clark and Robert Kozma. Clark and Kozma
Over thirty years ago, Richard Clark researched the impact of technology on learning. In 1983,
Richard E. Clark published the results of a meta analysis that examined the influence of media on
learning where he concluded that media do not influence learning under any circumstance (Becker,
2010, para. 3). Clark believes that media does not influence learning to any degree. He has stood firm
in his research findings over the past years. Just a few years later, Robert Kozma decided to oppose
Clark s debate and complete his own research to decide if technology had an impact on learning.
Kozma was looking to find out why technology had failed to impact learning. In order to establish a
relationship between media and learning we must first understand why we have failed to establish one
so far (Kozma, 1994, p. 2). Kozma believes that media does influence learning. The Debate

The Importance Of Culture And Organizational Culture
The importance of culture in the organization
The organization culture as a leadership concept has been identified as one of the many components
that leaders can use to grow a dynamic organization. Leadership in organizations starts the culture
formation process by imposing their assumptions and expectations on their followers. Once culture is
established and accepted, they become a strong leadership tool to communicate the leader s beliefs
and values to organizational members, and especially new comers. When leaders promote ethical
culture, they become successful in maintaining organizational growth, the good services demanded by
the society, the ability to address problems before they become disasters and consequently are
competitive against rivals. The leader s success will depend to a large extent, on his knowledge and
understanding of the organizational culture. The leader who understands his organizational culture and
takes it seriously is capable of predicting the outcome of his decisions in preventing any anticipated
consequences. What then is organizational culture? The concept of organizational culture has been
defined from many perspectives in the literature. There is no one single definition for organizational
culture. The topic of organizational culture has been studied from many perspectives and disciplines,
such as anthropology, sociology, organizational behavior, and organizational leadership to name a few.
Deal defines organizational culture as values,

School Shootings Throughout the United States
Recently there have been many school shootings throughout the United States and the world. Most of
these shooting were all connected with the shooter being on anti depressant medications. In an article
called Medicated to death: by SSRI s and mass killings by Lisa Arbercheski, she writes that SSRI s are
linked to the cause of most shootings. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI) is one of the
most popular medications taken for depression in many countries. Some are known by their popular
names like Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, and Paxil. These medications have many tests done and none of
them prove that they cure depression or mood swings. Could these medications be connected to some
of the most recent shootings like the one in Newton, Connecticut? The case is that these medications
are causing adolescents to go on suicidal rampage shootings and the United States is trying to play it
off like the medications have no connection. Many of these young people committing these crimes are
doing it because there is some type of rejection in their life. Doctors try to alleviate there symptoms by
giving them higher doses of medication making it worse. In the article by Arbercheski she describes a
shooting on December of 2000 when Micheal McDermott went on a shooting rampage at his
workplace. It was determined during his trial that he had increased his antidepressant medication,
Prozac, from 70 milligrams to 210 milligrams per day. There was also two other recent cases where

An Organization Is Super Important
Organization is super important. So when you organize your cables, it ll be very easy for you to find
things and have complete access. It is easier to find things in an organized place than in a messy and
cluttered place. By organizing, you know the exact place where things are at and you would not have
to spend hours finding them. This is beneficial for us because it helps us to save time as well as
energy. Things should be organized in a way so that they are easily accessible. The empty space that is
created with organizing makes the house and or the working area look more spacious. Arranging
cables and putting them into order automatically creates space. Many a times, there are people, who
say they need more space for their stuff. When things are in less or in proper order, you need little
space. A smaller home with the proper arrangement maintenance can be sufficient and satisfying for
you. Cable management not only provides you with a cleaner and more organized space, it can also
extend the life and improve the performance of your cables! Cords that are piled up on the floor or
they hang slack behind equipment are more likely to suffer damage from crushing or sagging.

Slavery In The Middle Passage By Robert Hayden
The Middle Passage for two decades consisted of African natives being densely packed on ships and
shipped them to different countries in the Atlantic including South America, the Caribbean, and North
America. Middle Passage by Robert Hayden speaks to the torturous experiences of slaves during the
Middle Passage. While the Middle Passage was the creation of the Black diaspora, it was a destructive
process for slaves. This destructive process included the sexual exploitation of women, emasculation
of men, and forcing Christianity onto the slaves. These parts of the destructive process created
generational trauma which was reflected economically, socially, and politically in North America for
slaves who survived. Millions of slaves committed suicide by throwing themselves overboard and
inflicting pain on themselves. Many of these slaves who inflicting pain on themselves were women
who had been raped and sexually exploited by the crew during the Middle Passage. A trinity is defined
as a group of three people or things and has a religious connotation. The trinities portrayed in the
Middle Passage were conveyed through the format of the poem, the repetition of words and phrases,
the trinity of Christianity, and the unmaking process of slaves. If surviving the Middle Passage, slaves
would be integrated into a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Nation-State and Transnational Entities
Introduction
There is a distinct difference between a nation, state, and nation state. Modern Nation State developed
over the 20th century to compensate for the inadequacy portrayed by pluralistic empires and extreme
nationalism. It is as a result of states seeking to expand their fixed territory that various wars emerged.
Countries in Europe after experiencing the full effect of such wars opted to integrate thus forming the
EU which is a transnational entity. In order to enjoy the full benefits of globalization it is expected in
future transnational entity will play a major role than individual modern nation state. Nevertheless,
currently modern nation states, still want to maintain the distinct characteristics of modern nation

A nation can exist even without territorial boundaries. However, nationalist movements of the 19th
century aimed at ensuring nation had land they would call their own resulting in the concept of Nation
State. A nation state is an independent country or a state owned by nation of people. Japan for instance
is a nation state owned by the Japanese. Iceland is another example of nation state. Important to note
is that the two are islands thus limiting cross border immigration. Therefore the populations there have
been able to maintain their national identity as defined by the language and culture (Opello Rosow,
2004; Gepin, 2010).
United States of America
The United States possesses attributes of modern nation state. Specifically it has fixed territory,
Government that exercises legitimate authority, sovereignty over its territory, a population that is loyal
to it and thus exercises a high sense of National identity (Opello Rosow, 2004). Using federal and state
laws the US foster its fixed territory by Governing and ensuring peaceful relationship exist between it
and its neighbors Canada and Mexico. It manages border relationship, regulating border crossing,
settles any border conflict through bilateral cooperation.

The Life and Works of Giuseppe Verdi Essay
I can say with absolute certainty that I have always been intrigued by and totally enamored with
cultures that were different from my own. I believe this is because I fancy myself to be an imaginative
dreamer that has always wished for changes to take place in the world so that it may one day become
the way it was supposed to be when the creator of the universe imagined it all those centuries ago.
I think the most precious gift that was given to humans by the creator of the universe besides the right
to live was when we were blessed with the gift of music whether we choose to use it to entertain
others or simply just listen to its majesty. What s even better than that the creator did not just stop

When Verdi s mother Luigia was 26 she and his father Carlo welcomed a baby girl they gave the name
Giuseppa Francesco Verdi but she was not to see her brother become a world renowned romantic
opera composer because she tragically died in the year 1833 from a debilitating form of meningitis at
the time of her death she was 17 years old.
I believe that we study Giuseppe Verdi because he still is considered to be one of the most significant
and prolific Italian opera composers of his time and he also used his music to restore Italy s national
pride and dignity within themselves at a time of their turbulent French rule and administration.
Giuseppe Verdi showed an early natural talent for music but he was never considered to be a prodigy
like young Mozart was in his childhood and even though his parents could not afford the private music
lessons that they knew their young seven year old son both needed and deserved. Despite their
precarious financial situation Verdi s father because he believed in his son s natural musical talent was
able to scrape together enough money to purchase his son an old, battered, used spinet that was an
early version of the piano also at the age of 7 years old, but in his enthusiasm to foster his natural
musical talent he had completely mastered the spinet by the time he reached the age of nine years old.

The Effects Of Community On Parenting Practices
Running head: EFFECTS OF COMMUNITY ON PARENTING Sanchez | 2
The Effects of Community on Parenting Practices
Christina Sanchez
November 6th 2016
The definition of a community can vary by its culture and experiences. It is those differences that are
the framework for what any given community regards as normal and appropriate when it pertains to
parenting practices. These norms set the standards as to when and how parents should seek help from
others as well. Parenting practices are normally looked at in relation to a particular culture; this focus
excludes community input and effect on the expectations and behaviors of parents. For this reason, the
focus of this paper will be the effect of community, not culture, on parenting practices. The
community can become the standard reference for a parent, and practices may be accepted without
question even if they do not match that of the broader society. Variations that exist here in the
Southwest, include Native and non Native parenting practices, Hispanic influences, and socio
economic factors. For Native American families in the Southwest, it is important to also note that their
style of shared living impacts their parenting practices. For instance, children may live with other
family members such as grandparents, and move routinely from family member to family member as
they are growing up. The burden of parenting or raising children in a traditional Native American
family belongs to the

Essay Monotheism vs. Polytheism
Monotheism and polytheism are two very different belief systems. Monotheism is the belief in one
god and polytheism is the belief in more one than one god. The concept of morality can and does exist
within cultures that have only one god, as well as cultures that have multiple gods. Without morality,
the world would be a place of extreme chaos and pandemonium. However, the foundation for morality
within polytheistic religions is quite contradictory to the foundation for morality with monotheistic
religions. Morality within polytheism is somewhat inconsistent and relative; whereas in monotheism,
morality becomes more consistent and absolute. Morality exists throughout all cultures and religions
of the world in some shape or form. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the foundations for morality in polytheism and monotheism are quite different.
In polytheism the foundation for morality seems inconsistent and relative. Polytheistic religions have
no ultimate reality or god to set a standard for morality that all the followers must obey. Instead, each
of the many gods could have their own set of standards for morality. The inconsistency of morality
could theoretically lead one to be faced with the dilemma of which god is correct. Let s suppose one is
having an extramarital affair and is not sure if she should continue the affair or stop. Should she pray
to the goddess of lust and passion, to the god that is all knowing or to the god of family and
relationship? Not only does the inconsistency of morality standards cause followers to be faced with
choosing which gods to embrace, but also cause them to be faced which god is appropriate to pray for
moral guidance on different subjects. The notion that each of the multiple gods can set their standards
for morality, allows for the follower to circumstantially pick and choose which god to follow. It is
possible for a follower to be circumstantially selective because they do not have to answer to one
specific god. One can choose to follow a certain god because that particular god s set of morals allows
them to fulfill some desire or need that would otherwise not fulfilled under other

Due to health reasons, the meat packing industry has aroused the attention of many. This has been
caused by the safety standards in the meat packing industry. The attention has also been caused by the

employees. This has greatly attracted attention due to the care for the employees who are mainly non

Unethical Advertising
Advertising to children should not be considered unethical or be deemed related to childhood obesity
as there are many factors that play into obesity that are being denied or overlooked if the blame is put
on advertising. Often, advertising is merely used as the scapegoat. Further, the primary intent of
advertising food is to increase brand awareness; not to increase consumption. As defined by the
Merriam Webster Dictionary, advertising is the action of calling something to the attention of the
public, its purpose is not to force individuals to perform an action, rather just make their
product/service more known ( Advertising ). According to Kant s Duty Based Ethics, since the intent
of advertising is not to increase obesity in the consumers , it cannot be deemed unethical. Overall,
research shows that most children under the age of 6 cannot distinguish between programming and
advertising; therefore, this further attests to advertising not being harmful to kids and their health. In
general, excess weight gain in young people is similar to those in adults, including factors such as a
person s behavior and genetics. Therefore, there should not be a focus on advertising to kids alone; if
there needs to be more regulations with advertising in terms of advertising to kids, then regulations
should be made in advertising to adults as well.
Obesity is considered a disease that is derived from having too much body fat. The extra weight can
be from bone, muscle, fat, and/or body water (Obesity: Medline). In any case, the disease is present
when the weight of the person is greater than what s considered healthy for his or her height. Although
advertising food to kids may contribute to the rate of obesity in America, it is proven that it is not the
only factor and certainly is not the most prominent. There are a number of other factors that can
contribute to obesity in an individual.
Obesity is a condition that some individuals may not have any control over as it may be caused by
their genetic makeup. A countless number of studies have established that the different forms of
obesity tend to be generated within a family. According to the Center of Research at the University of
Laval, the risk of obesity is 2 to 8 times

Essay on Rodin s Study for Falling Man and The Kiss
Rodin s Study for Falling Man and The Kiss
In Study for Falling Man Rodin used a fluid, supple motion to arch the figure s back, throwing the
body into a dramatic curve. His understanding of anatomy echoes that of Michelangelo, whose works
enthralled Rodin, as he wrote: My liberation from academism was effected by Michelangelo.
Rodin s The Kiss is a representation of the story of Paolo, the brother of Gianciotto, and Francesca,
Gianciotto s wife, in Dante s book The Divine Comedy: Inferno. They fell in love while reading
romances of courtly love and after exchanging their first kiss,
Gianciotto caught them by surprise and stabbed them.

The passionate love of Francesca da Rimini and Paolo Malatesta was a theme which Rodin used to
inspire The Kiss. Although it was originally intended to be part of the Gates of Hell, Rodin did not feel
that it fit and removed the figures to make them an individual statue. The form of the lovers emerges
from the highlights and shadows of the statue. Light and shade were used by Rodin to create an
impression of actuality. The convulsive contraction of the toes on the man s right foot and the
tenseness of his hand in contrast to the woman s thigh. Such details reveal much of the passion that
inflames the lovers, but they reveal it with taste and refinement.
Rodin s sculpture combined both the realistic and romantic tendencies present in French society at the
time. In his work he aimed to capture and represent inner feeling and the subsequent state of mind.
Rodin was a believer in the power of art. He believed that art was on par with religion and that
through art you could say all that could be said about the relationship between man and the world.
Rodin also wanted nature to be the influence behind his work, but was more interested in the
simplicity and beauty of the natural form of the human body
His subject as in all his work is the human form. His style tends to vary between either a deliberate
roughness of form to a very polished and delicate approach of modelling the body. When I saw the

What Is Michelangelo s Pieta
The sculpture I have chosen to do my critical analysis project on this week is Michelangelo s Pieta.
Which was created during the period of 1498 1500, after a request was made by a cardinal Jean de
Billheres. The cardinal requested a sculpture that would be placed in a side chapel at Old St. Peter s
Basilica, which was in Rome. Resulting from that request was a beautiful sculpture of the Virgin Mary
holding Christ s body after his crucifixion. The piece created was multi figure which was rare for this
time period. It also was a full round piece with the dimensions of 5 9 x 6 5 . The sculpture was created
using a subtractive method. The subtractive method was executed on a block of Carrara marble. This
type of marble is a white and blue stone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their heads are represented proportionally yet the body of the Virgin Mary is not it is much larger than
Christ s. The reason for this is most likely due to the fact that Christ is laying a crossed her lap, and
needed to be supported appropriately. The drapery which appears from Virgin Mary s lap down gives
more dimension and makes Christ look like he belongs nestled in his mother s lap. The line technique
used throughout the sculpture adds to the flow of the sculpture. Virgin Mary s one arm is rested
underneath her son and the other is positioned away from him almost in a position as if she was
praying or hoping someone was looking down upon them and the situation they were in. The way the
Virgin Mary is looking down at her son makes a focal point from her to her son. When this sculpture
is in place in St. Peter Basilica the light streams into the building from three large windows which
hitting the sculpture just right will only add to focal points of the sculpture making them even more
noticeable. This only draws more attention to her face, and the beautiful features she was given by the
artist. Both of the figures have a somber look on their faces which represents the situation they are in.
Being as Virgin Mary is now being faced with her child s death as he is rested upon her

Business For The Glory Of God Summary
LaKeisha Y. Jones Liberty University Business for the Glory of God Book Review
Grudem explains that God proved personal ownership by demanding that thou shall not steal (Ex.

small portion of the world. By taking care of our personal belongings or improving upon them
(cleaning the pool, or adding a deck to a home) we imitate God who owns a cattle on a thousand hills

individuals. We should think of all inequalities of possession as wrong and evil. In the current days
that we live in there are inequalities of gifts and abilities, and there are also evil, oppressive systems in
the world, and because of these things many of God s most righteous people will not be wealthy in
current life. For the individuals that have large resources, they also should trust in God and not his
riches.
The brief chapters are manageable for individuals who live in our fast paced society. The chapters are
full of solid material that can provoke thought and reflection. The author goes over the Ownership
aspect and describes that a business owner is a reflection of how God takes care of the universe. As a
business owner you would think that it actually belongs to you, but in reality we untimely ours. As
individuals you should share the things that you own and to learn to not be

Huichol Religion Essay
Many cultures believe in all sorts of symbols and ideas relating to plants and their spiritual meaning.
The mescaline in the peyote gives people strong visions and vivid images, while allowing them to see
a different landscape. The Huichol people in Mexico believed that peyote was supposed to be used in
rituals and was a gift from the Gods. They harvest enough for the year and take just the right amount
to see visions. To get the peyote they must undergo numerous rituals and stop at a few sacred sites in
order to find the peyote in Wirikuta. This adventure is called the pilgrimage to Wirikuta also called the

The four most important of these symbols are the blue deer, corn, peyote, and the eagle, which
represent the four main gods of the Huichol religion. The blue deer, also known as mahjrah, represents
the spirit guide who accompanies shamans on their journey to communicate with their ancestors, and
is viewed as a guardian of the spiritual world. Male and female deer are often shown together to
represent the unity of men and women on their spiritual journeys. () Corn, which serves as the basis of
the Huichol diet, represents the sacred Corn Mother as well as the sacredness of food. Much like the
Corn Mother gives birth to the Corn Child, who then becomes the Corn Mother every year, the
Huichols plant corn, which they then harvest for nourishment, which allows them to reproduce and
create more people to tend to the earth and grow more corn, thus restarting the cycle. Peyote, which
serves as the focal point of Huichol rituals and religious culture, features heavily in their artwork and
represents knowledge. Huichols view peyote as a divine gift, which allows shamans to communicate
with the gods and be gifted the wisdom and knowledge of their ancestors, which is then passed on to
all other members of society. Peyote also represents the physical

Sartre s Theory Of The Radical Freedom Essay
Discuss Sartre s theory of the radical freedom of consciousness
Jean Paul Sartre in his book Being and Nothingness provided us with a new interpretation of freedom
consistent with his famous account on existentialism. This is the view that existence precedes its
essence: In a word, man must create his own essence: it is in throwing himself into the world,
suffering there, struggling there, that he gradually defines himself (Sartre, 1943), (Onof, 2016). Here,
Sartre stated that humans are completely free and that this comes at a cost, as ultimately, we have the
burden of responsibility. Nonetheless, of main consideration, is discussing Sartre s theory of the
radical freedom of consciousness. This view is where he explained that at every second of decision
making, we have the possibility to modify ourselves, i.e. by participating in what Sartre calls new
projects . But, this view is undermined, as it has the potential to jeopardise our very existence in the
world (Onof, 2016).
In this essay, I will be providing one explanation of what freedom entails for Sartre and this will be
followed by a brief explanation of a contrasting account brought forward by Thomas Hobbes, who
saw freedom as the ability to do whatever one wishes to do. I will then move onto explaining Sartre s
account on free will, of the different views he adopted and expanded on. I will then explain what
makes his explanation on freedom so radical . This will be followed by a discussion of some of

Bernard L. Madoff s Life
Bernard L. Madoff was born into a family that had originally immigrated to the United States during
the Great Depression. Bernard s parents, Ralph and Sylvia Madoff had originally tried their hands in
the financial world unsuccessfully. His mother registered as a broker dealer in the early 1960s but the
SEC forced her to close the business for failing to report her financial condition (like mother like son
right). When Bernie was younger, he did not care for finance; he was focused mainly on his girlfriend
Ruth and his high schools swim team. In his spare time Bernie would work as a lifeguard and save his
money for later investments. After graduating high school, in 1956, he set off to college at the
University of Alabama for a year and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these people included his brother Peter, who joined him in 1970 as the firm s chief
compliance officer. Peter s daughter, Shana, became a rules compliance lawyer for the trading division
of the company as well. Madoff also employed his three sons Mark, Andrew, and Roger who only
worked there shortly before his death in 2006. Madoff s rise on Wall Street was from his beliefs, that
seemed quite bizarre to many at the time, that stocks could be traded by people who never saw each
other but were connected only by electronics. Madoff had invested in a lot of new electronic trading
technology for his firm, which made it cheaper for brokerage firms to fill their stock orders. He even
pioneered a controversial practice called payment for order flow. He would pay big players to send
their customer orders to his firm instead of to the New York Exchange or other regional exchanges. A
lot of buzz was made by floor traders at the traditional exchanges claiming that Madoff was in essence
paying bribes, but Madoff insisted, The order flow payments were necessary to inject greater
competition into the marketplace and reduce the near monopoly of the Big Board (Henriques, 2008).
Madoff was not the household name among American investors, before the scheme, but within Jewish
philanthropy in the New York area his wealth and growing reputation among market insiders was. He
became a generous donor, then a courted board member and,

Colosseum Architecture
The Roman Colosseum is a prime example of an important architectural building that has not only
withstand the test of time, but also has had a major impact on how we perceive buildings in the
modern world. According to britannica, construction on this building started around 70 AD and
currently still stands in Rome, Italy. The historic that is held within the Colosseum allows for art
historian to study and also criticize it as well. Big ideas such as, how the artist manipulate the material
or how the art represents tradition as well as change are aspects that are accounted for when criticizing
art such as the Colosseum. To start, we are going to talk about how the Colosseum was built and how
it was composed during the time. As stated before, the Colosseum started construction around 70 AD
and was completed by 80 AD. According to Gardner s Art Through The Ages, the Colosseum was
built using mostly concrete since it was the most widely utilize material during the time period. Inside
the Colosseum or the amphitheatre as it was also called, it situated approximately 50,000 spectators
according to Britannica. It was additionally noted on Britannica that the Roman used retractable
velarium or awning, in order to shield spectators from the sun. These awning were moved by sailors
that were located around the Colosseum. The seats that spectators were situated in, were held up by
complex system of barrel vaulted corridors. Around the Colosseum were 76 gateways, which made it

Personalizaton through Searches on Google and Facebook is...
Worldwide there is an underlying issue within search engines and social media. This issue is becoming
evident as the number of people retrieving their news through Google and Facebook increases.
Personalisation through searches is evolving to only show the consumer what they want to see not
what they need to see. Online Organiser and Author of The Filter Bubble , Eli Pariser argues in his
TED Talk about the unreliability of not being exposed to information that could broaden our
worldwide view and possibly resolve pivotal democratic issues. This cycle of trying to consistently
please the users is becoming evident within search organisations and has evolved with technology as
algorithmic filters were introduced having an unbalanced and unethical filter. This invisible filter is
now generating a personal unique universe of information (Pariser, 2011), for every individual user,
enforcing the inability to have a functioning democracy because of the public not receiving accurate
and most importantly balanced information. The Filter Bubble s motive is to create a personalised
environment online through the search engine, by getting to know the source of sites it thinks it s
consumer is interested in. The filter then only provides their subject with specific relevant
information. The continuous flow of information being shown on google and Facebook revolves
around the commonly visited sites rather than things that benefit the users worldwide view and get

Essay about Dental Office Floor Plan
The dental office floor plan detailed above clearly and cleanly divides the dental space into 3 clear
segmented areas: non clinical (patient and administration), clinical, (dental delivery) and clinical
support (supplies, storage, and laboratory). The non clinical space has the most diverse user traffic
patterns since patients and family members, clinical, and non clinical staff may use this area. This non
clinical space should not be blended with the clinical and clinical support areas. The bottleneck areas
are the patient in take and out take or registration area of the patient reception desk. Inherently, all
dental practices have practice waste, complexity, and variation built into the dental floor plan or the

Additionally, the staff bathrooms should not be placed into the clinical areas but near the staff break

Practice design has direct relationship to patient flow. A common held belief in dentistry is that there
should be a separation between general dentistry and hygiene. This concept has each dental provider
working from dedicated general dentistry spaces, chairs, and setups and dental hygiene can only
perform cleanings in hygiene chairs and rooms. This forms dental departmental walls or work areas
done by dedicated function and creates a lot of walking and patient scheduling delays. The definition
of dental inefficiency and ineffectiveness is when staff members walk from the end of one hallway to
another to tell the dentist that the patient is ready for an exam or a procedure.
The concept of a favorite room to deliver care for those long, involved procedures must also be
eliminated. When all dental operatory or treatment rooms are designed and equipped identically a
provider can deliver the full spectrum of dental care in each and every room. Every dental operatory
then becomes a favorite room. This allows your front desk staff to be more flexible in scheduling both
urgent and emergent patients and for dental assistants to setup patients more quickly. Dental
operatories when appropriately dThree practice activity areas affect patient flow and they

Volunteering At Mattel Children s Hospital
Service to the community has been important to my family for as long I can remember. My earliest
recollections of community service were at 10 years of age when I would join my father in cleaning

find being a person for others natural, and have always found ways in which I can give back.
Volunteering at Mattel Children s Hospital was my first clinical experience, and the meaningful
impact I made there will always stay close to my heart. Many of the children I spent time with were
extremely sick, and it opened my eyes to the suffering accompanied with ill health. Even though I had

Orion Negotiation Or The Hunt Explanation
I have chosen the Orion constellation, or the hunter constellation as some call it. I chose this
constellation because it is a beautiful constellation. Orion is the brightest and most beautiful of the
winter constellations. Some of its stars, including Betelgeuse and Rigel, are among the brightest stars.
While it was named after the hunter in Greek mythology it is definitely not stealthy. Orion is one of
the most prominent and recognizable constellations in the sky and can be seen throughout the world. It
is located on the celestial equator.
According to mythology, Orion proclaimed himself the greatest hunter in the world, to the dismay of
Hera, wife of Zeus. Hera had a scorpion kill Orion and Zeus put him into the sky as a constellation.

Compare and Contrast Captivity Narratives Essay
Contrasting and Comparing Captivity Narratives The captivity narrative genre includes writings by or
about people captured by an enemy, usually one who is considered by the hostage to be a foreign and
uncivilized heathen, and was especially popular in America and England in the seventeenth through
late nineteenth centuries. Documents from the time show that between 1675 and 1763, at least 1,641
New Englanders were held in captivity as hostages, though many believe that the numbers are
drastically low because of poor record keeping (Vaughan, 53). Regardless of the exact number of

She writes that at one point, an Indian couple told her they would help her escape and even go with

Indians, other Indians asked for him to heal their sick. These Indians, like those who allowed
Rowlandson a Bible to read, did not prevent their captives from keeping their own religion (Cabeza de
Vaca 19). Mary Jemison had a markedly different captivity experience. In the late 1750s, when
Jemison was just fifteen years old, her family was captured by the Seneca Indians. Soon after they
were captured, Jemison saw her family murdered and scalped. Like Rowlandson and Cabeza de Vaca,
she was initially in fear for her life. She expected at any moment that she too would be scalped by her
captors. At the same time, like Rowlandson, she was just as frightened by the idea of escape. She
lamented that should she sneak away that she would be alone and defenseless in the forest, surrounded
by wild beasts that were ready to devour her (Seaver). Jemison was given to two squaws as a
replacement for a brother who was lost in war. After a ritual of mourning, the female Indians dressed
Jemison in native clothing, renamed her Deh he wä mis which meant pretty girl and accepted her as
one of their own. She learned their way of life

Very often, people commit a crime because they think that the punishment is not harsh enough.
Therefore, to show the determination to protect consumer privacy, the government should impose
harsher punishment that is deterrent enough. Besides, it is essential to allocate more resource to
establish some departments which can help protect people s privacy in e business. In addition to
punishment ad establish departments, the government should educate young people about importance
of respecting people s privacy. The education should be done everywhere, for example, in school, in
public areas, and on television, so that it can uproot young people s wrong values.
Companies also ought to take effective measures to protect consumer privacy. One practical proposal
would be that organizations should establish internal controls and physical safeguard for information
security. On the one hand, company builds up a security system to control their internal enterprise.
Data control and management is a critical issue for corporations. The service provider should be able
to ensure customers information security, especially those important data such as credit card number,
ID number, and email that avoid information falling into the wrong hands. On the other hand, the e
business providers should keep their marketing ethics and social responsibility during the business

Research Paper On Quantum Entanglement
Quantum Entanglement Quantum entanglement, also known as spooky action at a distance as first
referred to by Einstein, is a phenomenon which occurs when two or more particles interact in such a
way that their physical states can be described as one whole system rather than as each particle
separately. The particles spin in opposite directions to each other and, no matter how far away each
particle is from the other, if one particle changes its spin the other particle/s will instantaneously
change their spin too in the exact opposite direction. You can, therefore, determine the physical state
of each particle just by examining the state of one particle. History: In 1935, Albert Einstein, in a joint

Institutional Environment as a Determinant of Chinese...
Institutional Environment as a Determinant of Chinese Private Firm Export Behaviors:Does
productivity counter the effect of institutional environment?
We introduce institutional environment as a measure of the degree to which policies and institutes in
one region differ from those in another region in china, where market are distorted across space and
region[1]. We employ a modified heterogeneous firm model developed by Mayer and Melitz et
al(2011)[12] to examine whether such institutional environment differences affect the firms export
behavior. Employing data for china firm level exports in 29 province for which measures of
institutional environment can be constructed, we find that better institutional environment enhances
firm s export behavior. This results holds for the low level of financial constrains firms, but are
reversed by the con export effect of productivity in the aggregate firms and the high level of financial
constraints firms. Productivity is found to exert a con export effect that completely offsets the trade
enhancing effects of institutional environment.
I. Introduction
Despite a voluminous literature on the impact of firm productivity on export behavior, the effects
that institutional environment differences among regions may have on firm s export behavior and the
extent to which productivity may counter these effects have received little attention. Institutional
environment difference is defined as the degree to which policies and regulations

  • 2. The Impact Of Media And Instructional Technology On... Position paper on the impact of Media and Instructional Technology on Student Learning There have been many debates, among researchers, in the past on technology and the impact that it has on learning. However, there is one debate that, after over nearly two decades, is still being discussed to this day. The debate of Clark Kozma has been of great significance to researchers in the past and present. As new and improved technology is introduced, many researchers have focused their study on this debate to prove or disprove the findings of Richard Clark and Robert Kozma. Clark and Kozma Over thirty years ago, Richard Clark researched the impact of technology on learning. In 1983, Richard E. Clark published the results of a meta analysis that examined the influence of media on learning where he concluded that media do not influence learning under any circumstance (Becker, 2010, para. 3). Clark believes that media does not influence learning to any degree. He has stood firm in his research findings over the past years. Just a few years later, Robert Kozma decided to oppose Clark s debate and complete his own research to decide if technology had an impact on learning. Kozma was looking to find out why technology had failed to impact learning. In order to establish a relationship between media and learning we must first understand why we have failed to establish one so far (Kozma, 1994, p. 2). Kozma believes that media does influence learning. The Debate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Importance Of Culture And Organizational Culture The importance of culture in the organization The organization culture as a leadership concept has been identified as one of the many components that leaders can use to grow a dynamic organization. Leadership in organizations starts the culture formation process by imposing their assumptions and expectations on their followers. Once culture is established and accepted, they become a strong leadership tool to communicate the leader s beliefs and values to organizational members, and especially new comers. When leaders promote ethical culture, they become successful in maintaining organizational growth, the good services demanded by the society, the ability to address problems before they become disasters and consequently are competitive against rivals. The leader s success will depend to a large extent, on his knowledge and understanding of the organizational culture. The leader who understands his organizational culture and takes it seriously is capable of predicting the outcome of his decisions in preventing any anticipated consequences. What then is organizational culture? The concept of organizational culture has been defined from many perspectives in the literature. There is no one single definition for organizational culture. The topic of organizational culture has been studied from many perspectives and disciplines, such as anthropology, sociology, organizational behavior, and organizational leadership to name a few. • 5. School Shootings Throughout the United States Recently there have been many school shootings throughout the United States and the world. Most of these shooting were all connected with the shooter being on anti depressant medications. In an article called Medicated to death: by SSRI s and mass killings by Lisa Arbercheski, she writes that SSRI s are linked to the cause of most shootings. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI) is one of the most popular medications taken for depression in many countries. Some are known by their popular names like Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, and Paxil. These medications have many tests done and none of them prove that they cure depression or mood swings. Could these medications be connected to some of the most recent shootings like the one in Newton, Connecticut? The case is that these medications are causing adolescents to go on suicidal rampage shootings and the United States is trying to play it off like the medications have no connection. Many of these young people committing these crimes are doing it because there is some type of rejection in their life. Doctors try to alleviate there symptoms by giving them higher doses of medication making it worse. In the article by Arbercheski she describes a shooting on December of 2000 when Micheal McDermott went on a shooting rampage at his workplace. It was determined during his trial that he had increased his antidepressant medication, Prozac, from 70 milligrams to 210 milligrams per day. There was also two other recent cases where ... • 6. An Organization Is Super Important Organization is super important. So when you organize your cables, it ll be very easy for you to find things and have complete access. It is easier to find things in an organized place than in a messy and cluttered place. By organizing, you know the exact place where things are at and you would not have to spend hours finding them. This is beneficial for us because it helps us to save time as well as energy. Things should be organized in a way so that they are easily accessible. The empty space that is created with organizing makes the house and or the working area look more spacious. Arranging cables and putting them into order automatically creates space. Many a times, there are people, who say they need more space for their stuff. When things are in less or in proper order, you need little space. A smaller home with the proper arrangement maintenance can be sufficient and satisfying for you. Cable management not only provides you with a cleaner and more organized space, it can also extend the life and improve the performance of your cables! Cords that are piled up on the floor or they hang slack behind equipment are more likely to suffer damage from crushing or sagging. It is estimated that more than 30,000 non fatal electrical shock accidents take place each year. Slavery In The Middle Passage By Robert Hayden The Middle Passage for two decades consisted of African natives being densely packed on ships and shipped them to different countries in the Atlantic including South America, the Caribbean, and North America. Middle Passage by Robert Hayden speaks to the torturous experiences of slaves during the Middle Passage. While the Middle Passage was the creation of the Black diaspora, it was a destructive process for slaves. This destructive process included the sexual exploitation of women, emasculation of men, and forcing Christianity onto the slaves. These parts of the destructive process created generational trauma which was reflected economically, socially, and politically in North America for slaves who survived. Millions of slaves committed suicide by throwing themselves overboard and inflicting pain on themselves. Many of these slaves who inflicting pain on themselves were women who had been raped and sexually exploited by the crew during the Middle Passage. • 12. The Life and Works of Giuseppe Verdi Essay I can say with absolute certainty that I have always been intrigued by and totally enamored with cultures that were different from my own. I believe this is because I fancy myself to be an imaginative dreamer that has always wished for changes to take place in the world so that it may one day become the way it was supposed to be when the creator of the universe imagined it all those centuries ago. I think the most precious gift that was given to humans by the creator of the universe besides the right to live was when we were blessed with the gift of music whether we choose to use it to entertain others or simply just listen to its majesty. When Verdi s mother Luigia was 26 she and his father Carlo welcomed a baby girl they gave the name Giuseppa Francesco Verdi but she was not to see her brother become a world renowned romantic opera composer because she tragically died in the year 1833 from a debilitating form of meningitis at the time of her death she was 17 years old. I believe that we study Giuseppe Verdi because he still is considered to be one of the most significant and prolific Italian opera composers of his time and he also used his music to restore Italy s national pride and dignity within themselves at a time of their turbulent French rule and administration. Giuseppe Verdi showed an early natural talent for music but he was never considered to be a prodigy like young Mozart was in his childhood and even though his parents could not afford the private music lessons that they knew their young seven year old son both needed and deserved. Despite their precarious financial situation Verdi s father because he believed in his son s natural musical talent was able to scrape together enough money to purchase his son an old, battered, used spinet that was an early version of the piano also at the age of 7 years old, but in his enthusiasm to foster his natural musical talent he had completely mastered the spinet by the time he reached the age of nine years old. • 14. The Effects Of Community On Parenting Practices Running head: EFFECTS OF COMMUNITY ON PARENTING Sanchez | 2 The Effects of Community on Parenting Practices Christina Sanchez November 6th 2016 The definition of a community can vary by its culture and experiences. It is those differences that are the framework for what any given community regards as normal and appropriate when it pertains to parenting practices. These norms set the standards as to when and how parents should seek help from others as well. Parenting practices are normally looked at in relation to a particular culture; this focus excludes community input and effect on the expectations and behaviors of parents. For this reason, the focus of this paper will be the effect of community, not culture, on parenting practices. The community can become the standard reference for a parent, and practices may be accepted without question even if they do not match that of the broader society. Variations that exist here in the Southwest, include Native and non Native parenting practices, Hispanic influences, and socio economic factors. For Native American families in the Southwest, it is important to also note that their style of shared living impacts their parenting practices. For instance, children may live with other family members such as grandparents, and move routinely from family member to family member as they are growing up. The concept of morality can and does exist within cultures that have only one god, as well as cultures that have multiple gods. Without morality, the world would be a place of extreme chaos and pandemonium. However, the foundation for morality within polytheistic religions is quite contradictory to the foundation for morality with monotheistic religions. However, the foundations for morality in polytheism and monotheism are quite different. In polytheism the foundation for morality seems inconsistent and relative. Polytheistic religions have no ultimate reality or god to set a standard for morality that all the followers must obey. Instead, each of the many gods could have their own set of standards for morality. The inconsistency of morality could theoretically lead one to be faced with the dilemma of which god is correct. Let s suppose one is having an extramarital affair and is not sure if she should continue the affair or stop. Should she pray to the goddess of lust and passion, to the god that is all knowing or to the god of family and relationship? Not only does the inconsistency of morality standards cause followers to be faced with choosing which gods to embrace, but also cause them to be faced which god is appropriate to pray for moral guidance on different subjects. The notion that each of the multiple gods can set their standards for morality, allows for the follower to circumstantially pick and choose which god to follow. It is possible for a follower to be circumstantially selective because they do not have to answer to one specific god. One can choose to follow a certain god because that particular god s set of morals allows them to fulfill some desire or need that would otherwise not fulfilled under other ... • 17. Unethical Advertising Advertising to children should not be considered unethical or be deemed related to childhood obesity as there are many factors that play into obesity that are being denied or overlooked if the blame is put on advertising. Often, advertising is merely used as the scapegoat. Further, the primary intent of advertising food is to increase brand awareness; not to increase consumption. As defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionary, advertising is the action of calling something to the attention of the public, its purpose is not to force individuals to perform an action, rather just make their product/service more known ( Advertising ). According to Kant s Duty Based Ethics, since the intent of advertising is not to increase obesity in the consumers , it cannot be deemed unethical. Overall, research shows that most children under the age of 6 cannot distinguish between programming and advertising; therefore, this further attests to advertising not being harmful to kids and their health. In general, excess weight gain in young people is similar to those in adults, including factors such as a person s behavior and genetics. Therefore, there should not be a focus on advertising to kids alone; if there needs to be more regulations with advertising in terms of advertising to kids, then regulations should be made in advertising to adults as well. Obesity is considered a disease that is derived from having too much body fat. The extra weight can be from bone, muscle, fat, and/or body water (Obesity: Medline). In any case, the disease is present when the weight of the person is greater than what s considered healthy for his or her height. Although advertising food to kids may contribute to the rate of obesity in America, it is proven that it is not the only factor and certainly is not the most prominent. There are a number of other factors that can contribute to obesity in an individual. Obesity is a condition that some individuals may not have any control over as it may be caused by their genetic makeup. A countless number of studies have established that the different forms of obesity tend to be generated within a family. The passionate love of Francesca da Rimini and Paolo Malatesta was a theme which Rodin used to inspire The Kiss. Although it was originally intended to be part of the Gates of Hell, Rodin did not feel that it fit and removed the figures to make them an individual statue. The form of the lovers emerges from the highlights and shadows of the statue. Light and shade were used by Rodin to create an impression of actuality. The convulsive contraction of the toes on the man s right foot and the tenseness of his hand in contrast to the woman s thigh. Such details reveal much of the passion that inflames the lovers, but they reveal it with taste and refinement. Rodin s sculpture combined both the realistic and romantic tendencies present in French society at the time. In his work he aimed to capture and represent inner feeling and the subsequent state of mind. Rodin was a believer in the power of art. He believed that art was on par with religion and that through art you could say all that could be said about the relationship between man and the world. Rodin also wanted nature to be the influence behind his work, but was more interested in the simplicity and beauty of the natural form of the human body His subject as in all his work is the human form. The reason for this is most likely due to the fact that Christ is laying a crossed her lap, and needed to be supported appropriately. The line technique used throughout the sculpture adds to the flow of the sculpture. Virgin Mary s one arm is rested underneath her son and the other is positioned away from him almost in a position as if she was praying or hoping someone was looking down upon them and the situation they were in. The way the Virgin Mary is looking down at her son makes a focal point from her to her son. But we first must remember that there is no sin or evil in heaven, the Bible preaches that there are certain rewards in heaven and various kinds of stewardship that God entrusts to different individuals. We should think of all inequalities of possession as wrong and evil. In the current days that we live in there are inequalities of gifts and abilities, and there are also evil, oppressive systems in the world, and because of these things many of God s most righteous people will not be wealthy in current life. For the individuals that have large resources, they also should trust in God and not his riches. The brief chapters are manageable for individuals who live in our fast paced society. • 22. Sartre s Theory Of The Radical Freedom Essay Discuss Sartre s theory of the radical freedom of consciousness Jean Paul Sartre in his book Being and Nothingness provided us with a new interpretation of freedom consistent with his famous account on existentialism. This is the view that existence precedes its essence: In a word, man must create his own essence: it is in throwing himself into the world, suffering there, struggling there, that he gradually defines himself (Sartre, 1943), (Onof, 2016). Here, Sartre stated that humans are completely free and that this comes at a cost, as ultimately, we have the burden of responsibility. Nonetheless, of main consideration, is discussing Sartre s theory of the radical freedom of consciousness. This view is where he explained that at every second of decision making, we have the possibility to modify ourselves, i.e. by participating in what Sartre calls new projects . But, this view is undermined, as it has the potential to jeopardise our very existence in the world (Onof, 2016). In this essay, I will be providing one explanation of what freedom entails for Sartre and this will be followed by a brief explanation of a contrasting account brought forward by Thomas Hobbes, who saw freedom as the ability to do whatever one wishes to do. I will then move onto explaining Sartre s account on free will, of the different views he adopted and expanded on. I will then explain what makes his explanation on freedom so radical . Mary Jemison had a markedly different captivity experience. In the late 1750s, when Jemison was just fifteen years old, her family was captured by the Seneca Indians. Soon after they were captured, Jemison saw her family murdered and scalped. Like Rowlandson and Cabeza de Vaca, she was initially in fear for her life. She expected at any moment that she too would be scalped by her captors. At the same time, like Rowlandson, she was just as frightened by the idea of escape. She lamented that should she sneak away that she would be alone and defenseless in the forest, surrounded by wild beasts that were ready to devour her (Seaver). Jemison was given to two squaws as a replacement for a brother who was lost in war. After a ritual of mourning, the female Indians dressed Jemison in native clothing, renamed her Deh he wä mis which meant pretty girl and accepted her as one of their own. She learned their way of life ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Silent Killer Research Paper Stress, America s silent killers. Stress affects people of all ages, ethnicities and genders. Due to its complex nature the concept of stress is constantly being studied. Extensive research has discovered that stress can cause both psychological, and physiological issues. I m writing on the concept of stress because it is something I have been able to identify with as a transitioning college student. It is also something I know many people can identify with but don t necessarily know how to deal with. Stress is a physical, mental, or emotional stimuli that causes bodily or mental tension. People often associate stress as experiencing feelings of anxiety. People who go through stress often report feeling overwhelmed and edgy. Stress can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Entering college as a first year student I knew the work load would be tough but I wasn t aware of how many different obstacles would be thrown my way. Every week I had an exam. Every week I had a paper or a quiz or something that needed my immediate attention. My body was stunned by the amount of stimuli it was being bombarded with. Saying I was overwhelmed is a gross understatement. That didn t even begin to describe how I was feeling. I always felt like I never had enough time, like I never had enough energy. I felt as if I was being pulled into several different directions. My body was having a difficult time adjusting and adapting to the changes of work in my new environment. When I got my exams and papers back it didn t help that the grades that I received were significantly lower than what I was used to. It only added to my stress. I started experiencing frequent migraine headache, I was more susceptible to sickness and I had grown increasingly frustrated and irritable. Pain exhaustion, irritability, and anxiety is what I associated with stress. I realized the correlation between my stress and terrible tensions my body experienced. The more stressed I was the more tension I experienced. I found myself crying very often and feeling like I didn t know what to do. When I was stressed it forced me to find ways to de stress myself. I had to find something to release my stress so that I wasn t overcome with so many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Research Paper On Quantum Entanglement Quantum Entanglement Quantum entanglement, also known as spooky action at a distance as first referred to by Einstein, is a phenomenon which occurs when two or more particles interact in such a way that their physical states can be described as one whole system rather than as each particle separately. The particles spin in opposite directions to each other and, no matter how far away each particle is from the other, if one particle changes its spin the other particle/s will instantaneously change their spin too in the exact opposite direction. You can, therefore, determine the physical state of each particle just by examining the state of one particle. History: In 1935, Albert Einstein, in a joint paper with Boris Podolsky and Nathan Rosen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 36. Institutional Environment as a Determinant of Chinese... Institutional Environment as a Determinant of Chinese Private Firm Export Behaviors:Does productivity counter the effect of institutional environment? We introduce institutional environment as a measure of the degree to which policies and institutes in one region differ from those in another region in china, where market are distorted across space and region[1]. We employ a modified heterogeneous firm model developed by Mayer and Melitz et al(2011)[12] to examine whether such institutional environment differences affect the firms export behavior. Employing data for china firm level exports in 29 province for which measures of institutional environment can be constructed, we find that better institutional environment enhances firm s export behavior. This results holds for the low level of financial constrains firms, but are reversed by the con export effect of productivity in the aggregate firms and the high level of financial constraints firms. Productivity is found to exert a con export effect that completely offsets the trade enhancing effects of institutional environment. I. Introduction Despite a voluminous literature on the impact of firm productivity on export behavior, the effects that institutional environment differences among regions may have on firm s export behavior and the extent to which productivity may counter these effects have received little attention. Institutional environment difference is defined as the degree to which policies and regulations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
