Travis Kalanick Leadership
Question 1
In my opinion I believe that leaders such as Travis Kalanick are successful because they have a
comprehensive understanding of what it is to be a leader. The thing that distinguish good leaders
from great ones are the things that great leaders do differently. I think that with thorough
understanding and skills of leadership they are able to do things in a different way compared to
their competitors and attain positive outcomes. Travis Kalanick trusts that answers can be found to
every unwelcomed situation. One just needs to have inventive ways in solving the problem (Uber
Travis Kalanick Bio, 2015). There is a clear differentiation between what leaders do and what
managers do. Managers deal with the complexities of procedures while ... Show more content on

This is similar to the model of an Iceberg where the Formal systems lying visible above involves
the Roles, processes and tools used by the organisation and the more informal systems, like culture,
lie unnoticed in the water. These unnoticed elements involve values, norms, behaviours and a
number of components which make up the companies culture. To create a culture of excellence, I
believe that the underlying tones and culture of the organisation should be understood thoroughly.
This can help assess where problems lie and find the appropriate change principle to apply in order
to affect the culture.

An Organism Of Unknown Origin
Introduction: An organism of unknown origin was selected by the course instructor in an effort
to properly identify the organism with the utilization of a series of biochemical tests. This
exercise was of extreme importance during the termination of the course because it was essential
that each student be able to apply the practical knowledge learned through class lectures, and lab
practicals in an effort to individualize such experience so that each student could properly
handle a bacterial culture and identify its origin. In essence, the task of identifying the selected
organism via various test is essential in order to determine key features of such organism. The
test results ultimately disclose how the organism functions, and this information is useful for
proper identification and handling of such culture. Materials and methods: The identification of
the unknown organism was first tested using a Gram s staining procedure. This test uses a
series of dyes and liquid solutions that give a bacterial smear a color contrast and aid in its
identification. This method differentiates bacteria based on the thickness of their peptidoglycan
composed cell walls. This Gram s staining test was initiated by first donning gloves and obtaining
a clean microscopic slide which was cleaned with alcohol. The slide was then marked with a culture
number, and a circle was made in the center with a marker. A drop of water was placed in the
center and the excess was absorbed. A wire loop was

Tall Building In The 19th Century
There were two main factors that discouraged tall building throughout most of the 19th century:
safe reliable elevators and building material limitations. During most of this time period,
elevators were powered by steam and used primarily for transporting materials up and down
inside a structure. Similar to technology today, elevators were raised and lowered using cables.
The problem was, there were no safety devices in place in the event that a cable broke which led
to the elevator falling all the way to the bottom. For this reason, no people were allowed to ride
elevators and thus had to climb the structure everyday using ladders and stairs. In 1853, an
inventor named Elisha Otis developed a safety device that would prevent the elevator from falling
should a cable break. This device then allowed people to begin... Show more content on

Building materials available throughout most of the 19th century was another limiting factor when
it came to constructing tall buildings. The most widely used building materials during this time
period were masonry and rock. These materials were used together to construct load bearing walls,
forming the support system for the structure. Two cities that emerged as key players in the
development of tall building were Chicago and New York City. As these cities began to run out of
room to expand, the only option was to grow upward. The biggest problem became when adding
stories on top of stories, the lower walls would have to be built considerably thicker to support the
weight of the floors above. At some point, this building technique became impractical because the
lower walls would become so thick that there was no longer room to inhabit the space thus
defeating the purpose. With the improving manufacturing processes of the time, it soon became
apparent that incorporating steel into the structure of a building would cut down on the overall
weight of the structure without sacrificing strength. Over time,

Funding For Special Needs Education
Do you know anyone in your family, a friend, co worker or even a person at school with learning
disabilities? What if I told you, the help that person need to learn better and assist them with their
disabilities would be taken away from them. Around the country budgets cut have been made,
especially harming the programs for special needs students. The total amount that has been cut
cross nation from this program, is ridiculous, $578,892,762 (www.special educationdegree.net).
Here in Illinois, we have been one of the states that s been most struck by this budget cut. The
progressillinois.com has said over the summer they announced that $42 million cuts... And
another cut was announced for 12 million . Some think the funding for special needs education
shouldn t be raised, however, they should give more funding for special needs education because
it will give them more opportunities to advance in higher education, improve their social skills
and help them thrive later on in life. Now tell me do you think it is fair to take away money from
student who just want to learn? For a start, children with a disability already face so much, and
now have to deal with their programs being cut. I know how hard is it for these students, I have a
godson who has autism. He struggles everyday with the littlest thing, and yet always want to go to
school. Having a disability making everything more challenging with school, work, and

Dr Faustus Research Paper
After the centuries of the Dark Ages, Europe began to rise from the dirt and social troubles into a
modern civilization full of art and knowledge. The era of Renaissance shone above the peninsula of
Italy and continuously moved to Western Europe and England. The era of reawakening began and
the modern world started developing rapidly. In the 16th century, a playwright, poet and translator,
Christopher Marlowe, decided to reach out even further than an ordinary human experience. In the
age of social, scientific and cultural rebirth, Marlowe examined the possibilities and consequences
of reaching out the most from knowledge, power and wealth. In the play, The Tragical History of
the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus, the main protagonist, Dr. Faustus, sick and tired of the
limited abilities of any human individual trades his soul with the lord of the hell, Lucifer, for 24
years of limitless power, liberty and knowledge. Faustus travels around the world, unconscious
about his destiny, and enjoys all of the worldly and sensual pleasures. Unfortunately, in the end,
when Faustus finally realizes his fate and begs for forgiveness from God, the demons drags Doctor
into the flames of hell. Through the development of the play, Christopher Marlowe illustrates Dr.
Faustus metamorphosis from an ambitious superman to a fragile and frail person, who falsely
believes that owns the power above his surroundings.
In the beginning of the play, Dr. Faustus is found in his study maintaining

The Personality Of The Stranger In The Stranger By Albert...

English IV
10/16/17The Stranger
The Stranger was originally written by Albert Camus in French. It was later translated into English
and some of its meaning must have been lost. The original title was L etranger which translates
loosely to many different words. Meursault is a character of scarce conversation, as well as emotion
. But Meursault shows clear evidence of sociopath that is not conscious of his mind or his
emotions. Maman died today Or yesterday maybe, I don t know (Camus 3) That doesn t mean
anything, Maybe it was yesterday. The opening sentences of the strangerexemplify Meursault s
existential character. Which therefore leaves him with an emotional indifference and a detachment
from the people around him and his complete detachment from the rest of society around him.
Meursault is an odd character, he is portrayed to the point that he can no longer return to his
current emotions. Meursault seems as if he isn t able to think for himself seeing that there were
countless incidents where Raymond who is his neighbor, was able to persuade Meursault. ( I ve
got some blood sausage and some wine at my place. How about joining me? ). I figured it would
save me the trouble of cooking for myself, so I accepted, It s very typical for Meursault to jump
into a relationship with someone he just met and not for any good

Voter Turnout Research Paper
Elections are an important part of creating a legitimate state. They allow us to have a say in how
decisions are made in a government. However, the voter turnout for an election does not have an
effect on the type of regime that will develop in a state. It does not matter if the election is in an
authoritarian government or a democratic one, the regime does not have a large impact on the
turnout of voters. What matters in voter turnoutis whether the citizens believe in the regime. If they
feel that the state is legitimate then they are more likely to vote. Also, if the voters believe that
their vote counts and is not a wasted vote then you are more likely to have a larger voter turnout.
For example, the International Institute for Democracy

Family Reflection Paper
The environment I was raised in was not the most typical. The Diversity and adversity in my
family created a complex atmosphere to experience as a child. I am the first biracial child in my
family. With a white mother and black father, I was exposed to two very different cultures. The
diversity of my familytaught me to be accepting and open minded, along with helping me become
adaptable to different types of people. As a child, I was subjected to disapproval, of my parents
relationship and my own self. This judgement caused members of my family to doubt my abilities
and my success. IN order to be taken seriously, I focused on improving in the things that I
enjoyed. The pressure to prove my family wrong motivated me to work hard. Through my
success in academics and music, my ambition and with the support of my parents I was able to
gain the respect of both sides of my family. Even though I proved them wrong, as I grew older I
learned of the different political standings among members of my family. With conservative and
liberal views clashing, I learned to be open minded to all beliefs, and to accept and love any person,
even if I disagreed with their ideas.
I grew up in both a rural and suburban setting. My family owns thousands of acres of land, which
I was able to experience throughout my childhood. Being able to immerse myself in nature gave
me a new respect for it. I was able to experience different ways of living which helped me find my

Classroom Management Philosophy Observing teachers is a great way to see the day to day
operations of what goes into the setting of the class. Within the first few months of school, by then
the students should have a good understanding of the expectations of the class. It is important to
realize that the teacher trains the students what the rules and expectations are from day one in their
classroom. These rules and expectations come from their classroom management plan. There are

It takes time to teacher students the information that they need to know for the school year and
prior to the next year. Teachers only have 180 days to teach the required information to the
students with the assurance that the get it. A classroom management plan affects everyone. It can
change the way students walk into the classroom, how a teacher does their job and how visitors
act when they come to visit. I have seen this happen in an Elementary school, I have observed it.
One class was quietly walking down the hallway and another class was using outside, loud voices.
It was interesting the reaction some students had to the differences within the two classes. My
philosophy on classroom management came from my schooling and personal observations. I do
not have a physical classroom yet, but have seen many different styles each teacher uses when in
the classroom. The theoretical perspective that best describes my personal philosophy is the
personal needs theory. Stanley Coopersmith discussed that individuals need to experience a sense
of significance, competence, and power (Jones Jones, 2010, p. 33). I believe that it is important that
a student trust and builds a positive rapport or relationship with you. I believe that students, who
trust and believe in their teacher, with this the student, may tend to work harder and it gives the
student the belief that they can accomplish any task. When a level of trust and

the cheaper U.S. airline carriers was increasing. The young adults from 18 24 years old led the

Canadians make up 88% of the customers at the Fall Airport. YVR and YWG are estimated to lose
nearly 1,000,000 and 250,000 passengers to the U.S. each year respectively. WestJet is affected by
this situation in the price battle. In order to keep its fares competitive, WestJet announced baggage

In today s sports world, performance enhancing drugs have become more and more of a

with countless amounts of fans and admires turn out to be nothing but a cheater. These athletes
are paid millions of dollars to simply perform, entertain, and follow the rules of their respected

Black Panther Party Goals
Black Panther Party During the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s, the Black Panther Party
became a very controversial organization that demanded black people be treated with equality.
Before the movement, black people were deemed separate but equal from whites, meaning that they
would live under the same rights as white people, but would be separated from whites in many
situations, such as in schools and at water fountains. Bobby Sealeand Huey Newton, immediately
after founding the Black Panther Partyin 1966, started to set out goals for how they wanted African
Americans to be treated in the future. Shortly after founding the party, these two men created the 10

One such incident occurred on October 28, 1967, as John Frey, an Oakland police officer, was
shot to death in an argument with Huey Newton at a traffic stop. Newton claimed that at the scene
he was peacefully explaining to Frey that he it was not justified to arrest him, and Frey had then
responded by punching him in the face and then shooting him in the abdomen, leaving Newton
unconscious. Newton was originally convicted of voluntary manslaughter at his trial, but this was
later overturned in 1970 by the California Court of Appeals. Bobby Seale firmly believed that
during this incident, Newton was acting out of self defense was never meant to harm Frey in
anyway. Another violent event involving the Black Panthers took place on April 7, 1968, when, in
a shootout with the Oakland police, 17 year old panther Bobby Hutton was killed and Eldridge
Cleaver was wounded. It became clear later that Cleaver led the panthers on the ambush of the
police officers on purpose, and because of this he provoked the shootout. Nevertheless, Hutton s
death became a rallying issue for the Black Panther Party in their fight against oppression and unfair
treatment. When many people across the country saw these incidents, it confirmed their beliefs that

Essay on Arts of the Contact Zone, Mary Louise Pratt
In 1990, the second Modern Language Association Literacy Conference was held in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. During the conference Mary Louise Pratt a Stanford Professor delivered a keynote
/lecture that revolutionized how people think about their social spaces. She introduced a
revolutionary way to think about these social spaces, instead of calling them communities she
started calling it the contact zone . According to Pratt a contact zone is a place where cultures
meet, clash, and grapple (Pratt 487). While lecturing her fellow colleagues Pratt argues that our idea
of community is strongly utopian. She continues to plead her case by saying that societies often

The capacity to feel higher emotions: feelings, the cause of our imperfection, but the thing that
makes us unique. While analyzing the contact zone one has to view it from a psychological

The Canadian Health Care System Essay
According to an overview of Canadian poll surveying public opinion on their universal health care
system, 88% of Canadians reported their value for a strong, national, and publically funded health
system (Mendelsohn, 2002). Canada is one of the four nations that provide their populations with
access to medical services through their universal health caresystem of 1984 (Bodenheimer
Grumbach, 2008). The Canadian health care system is unique in that it prohibits the private health
insurancecoverage for the fundamental services that are provided by the Canada Health Act; private
insurance can be used as a supplement for services that are either partially covered or not covered
under the universal health insurance (Steinbrook, 2006). Conversely, in the American health care
system there isn t a universal health coverage for the nation, but rather four different means of
paying for health care which includes patient paying out of pocket for individual payments,
individual private insurance, employment based health insurance, and governmental supporting
funding (Bodenheimer Grumbach, 2008).
The Canadian government financed health system is a public, single payer health care system
that is funded partially by federal government and the rest is funded by provincial taxes such as
income taxes, payroll taxes, and sales taxes (Bodenheimer Grumbach, 2008). Federal taxes had
accounted for 50% of financing for health care services during the 1970s; however, this had

tissues are heard by the transducer (Blevins et al. 1). This means the sounds of the tissue reflects
back to the transducer and then back to the computer for evaluation. Then, After interacting with
the soft tissues, a portion of the sound is reflected back toward the source of the sound (Blevins

the soft tissue. The sound waves travel back to the computer to produce an image on the screen.
Finally, These reflections or echoes are analyzed by a computer and a black and white image is
produced (Blevins et al. 1). When the black and white image appears back on the screen, the
Ultrasound Technician will analyze the image on the computer

How General Motors ( Gm ) New Leadership Help Bring The...
INTRODUCTION
The following research paper is about how General Motors (GM) new leadership help bring the
company out of bankruptcy and into profitability. This paper will explore the different styles of
leadership of the various CEOs and Executives that contributed to the restructuring of the
organization and brining GM back to profitability. Can different leadershipstyles affect a
organizations revenue?
BACKGROUND/ RESEARCH
In 2009, GM filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was actively seeking financial assistance from the
federal government. The following year it returned with a $4.7B profit and underwent changes in
its corporate governance. The first step was to replace the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at
the time, Rick Wagoner, as part of the bailout deal (King Stoll, 2009). Wagoner was criticized for
his stubbornness to be adaptable in the automotive industry where the market constantly shifts from
cars to trucks. This meant that he was relaxed and did not challenge the changing market, but
instead when along with the market and continued to play along. He was also ridiculed for not
pushing his employees to come up new ideas to challenge the market. Because of this Wagoner
allowed GM to fall into complacency, and eventually leading to the organizations bankruptcy
(Baldoni, 2009). Wagoner s unwillingness to connect with his employees and unwillingness to
challenge the market lead to the bankruptcy of GM, also his lack of experience in the automotive
industry or

James Bond Characteristics
The creator of James Bond put a lot of not only effort into creating the character, but also a lot of
his heart and soul. It could be argued that James Bond is an image creation of Ian Fleming. That
Fleming created an autobiography through James Bond without actually making an autobiography.
Without these elements of Fleming within Bond, it s quite possible to say Bond and his story
lines might not have been as successful as they are. One of these elements seemed to have more of
an effect on not just one of the story lines, but all the story lines.
Smoking is a sign of stress to most people. It can be used to calm them. Once they have taste of
how it calms them they are hooked and never let it go. Some start and can never stop, others
pick it up and put it back down with no problems at all. At one point and time or another most
people hold or attempt to smoke a cigarette at least once in their lifetime. For the longest time
cigars or cigarettes were used in social settings. You d sit down and talk and have a smoke. You
were uncool if you didn t have one between your fingers. Whether or not one of the mentioned
reasons is why Ian Fleming picked up cigarettes and never put them down is a question we can
attempt to answer with the given details of who James Bond is.
The two were compared saying Bond, in the novels smoked an average of sixy cigarettes a day
and Fleming topping that with an average of eighty cigarettes a day. Not only did James Bond and
Ian Fleming both smoke,

Comparison Of The Lamb And The Tyger
Writers and authors for centuries have used different strategies to compare living things with one
another, as well as non living things with one another. During the Romantics era, it was a time
during economic destruction. People had little hope and writers and poets began to express their
emotions as well as critiques on this time period. William Blakewas a poet as well as a painter, who
wrote works that addressed the social issues around the area in which he lived. The country dealt
with several deaths, which caused the nation to go under depression. Furthermore, the essay,

The journal article Blake s Infant Sorrow, by Ricks Carson, an english professor at Pace
Academy, enlightens, The child at the mother s breast is an archetype of innocence, vulnerability,
and spontaneous affection. Even though Carson addresses the baby as innocent and finds the
child to be a archetype relating to his mother, the infant also can be seen as suffering. In a way,
this poem is laughing at the idea of Songs of Innocence. Blake, or the speaker, is harsh about the
experience of being a child and refuses to be handled by his parents. Blake further states that the
parents of the child treated him poorly throughout his childhood. The parents did not want the kid
and was upset that they had a child. The father cried, the mother groaned, and the child was fussy.
The poem is not very uplifting or positive, which means it fits perfectly with Blake s collection,

The Works of Blaise Pascal
Why Not? Blaise Pascal argues in his work PensГ©es that skepticism regarding our nature as
created by God is unavoidable if reason is to be our guide. He states that we must silence reason
and look to faith in order to know ourselves as we actually are. Without rational grounds for belief
in Christianity, how are we to know if Godeven exists? Pascal answers this by saying we,
ourselves, already are involved in a wager as to the existence of God. (Pascal 232) Either he
exists, or he does not. But, the major focus is the reward of this wager. Pascal believes that God
rewards believers and punishes disbelievers, so he thinks that it is rational to be faithful. In this
paper, I will argue against Pascal when he stated that it is rational to be faithful. The Wager; does
He exist or does He not? Pascal uses the Wager as a tool for reasoning into faith. Reason and
intellect cannot decide the question of whether God exists or not; therefore, to Pascal, it makes
sense to choose the option that would benefit us most should we be right. There are four ways to
look at the Wager: believe in God, and if he exists, have an eternal life of happiness, or two,
believe in God and he does not exist, you do not lose anything. If one does not believe in God, but
it turns out that He does exist, that individual loses the ability to gain an eternal life of happiness,
but if they do not believe, and it turns out they were right; they fail to gain anything other than
contentment.

after they brutally murdered young fourteen year old Bobby Franks. They picked him up,
promising to take him home, and bashed his head in with the handle of a chisel. Leopold and
Loeb then took his body to Wolf Lake, a small body of water near the Indiana Illinois border, and
buried him in a nearby culvert. In the end they were found, tried, and sent to prison. Drawn together

Analysis Of The Short Story Ennis And Jack
In the short story, Ennis and Jack are both described as rough mannered, rough spoken, and
inured to the stoic life (Proulx 1). Ennis had a high arched nose and narrow face, was scruffy, had a
caved chest, a small torso and caliper legs, possessed a muscular body and supple body made for
the horse and fighting (Proulx 3). He was a high school dropoutand grew up having much of
nothing after his parents died when he was just a young boy (Proulx 2). The death of his parents
forced him to grow up at a young age. At the age of 19, he had a difficult time finding work and it
wasn t until he came to Brokeback Mountainthat he found a summer job. This was also where he
met Jack who had come from a similar background. Jack had curly hair and a quick laugh, but
carried weight in the haunch and his smile showed his buckteeth. He loved the rodeo life. His
boots were worn to the quick and holed beyond repair (Proulx 3). Jack too was a high school
dropout and was looking for summer work and came back to Brokeback Mountainfor the second
year. Not only did they come from the same background, but they also began to share the same
love for each other. It wasn t until Ennis and Jack were on the mountain alone and together that
they discovered this love for each other. Although only a small detail and most times overlooked,

No Fault Divorce In Bohemia Case Study
The Benefits of a No Fault Divorce in Bohemia, New York
New York recognizes both fault based divorces and no fault divorces. In a fault based divorce, one
spouse accuses the other of some type of wrongdoing that led to the breakdown of the marriage,
such as adultery. In a no fault divorce, the parties agree that their marriage is irretrievably broken
and has been for a period of at least six months. Although not every couple will seek a no fault
divorce, filing for a no fault divorce in Bohemia, New York has certain advantages. Even if one
party is at fault for the breakdown of the marriage, many couples still choose to seek a no fault
divorce in Bohemia, New York.
Since there are no allegations of wrongdoing, the parties do not have to spend money and time
pursuing and defending these claims. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

proceeding, and no testimony is required. Instead, when the parties meet with a divorce mediator in
Bohemia, New York, they usually attempt to create a settlement agreement in a conference room.
If you are planning to meet with a divorce mediator in Bohemia, New York, you are probably
wondering what you will discuss.
Although your attorney has spoken for you in court proceedings and other exchanges up until this
point, during mediation, you will be the one doing the talking. Do not let this fact make you

manner with the mediator. If you prefer, the mediator will not disclose statements you make to your
spouse. Therefore, you should tell the mediator all of your concerns and wishes so that they are

The Concept Of Total Cost Of Ownership Or Tco
Introduction:
The concept of total cost of ownership or TCO (Cavinato 1991, 1992), life cycle costing
(Jackson and Ostrom 1980), product life cycle costs (Shields and Young 1991), and total cost of
(Ellram and Siferd 1993) are all related. There is no unique definition of TCO, since the meaning of
TCO is dependent on individual and function of organization (Ellram, 1994).
TCO concept suggests that supply managers adopt a long term perspective, rather than short term,
for accurate evaluation of buying conditions. Three ideas formulate procurement functions:
1)Cost must be examined from a long term perspective and include costs other than initial purchase
price.
2)Consider the impact of other business functions related to a specific purchase.
3)Understand measure, the impact of non value added costs like service costs, failure costs,
administrative costs, and maintenance (Ellram, 1994) associated with the purchase.
Depending on the goals of the project, a TCO analysis supports decisions on operational, tactical, or
strategic level.
Today, TCO analysis is used to support acquisition and planning decisions for a wide range of
assets that bring significant maintenance or operating costs across ownership life. Total cost of
ownership (TCO) analysis is centre stage when management is faced with acquisition decisions for
computing systems, vehicles, buildings, laboratory equipment, medical equipment, factory
machines etc.
TCO analysis for these kinds of assets is in

Reaction Paper On Perfume
Perfume is mixture of fragrant aroma compounds or essential oils, the first evidence of the use of
perfume by mankind dates back to the very old Egyptian civilizations around 2400 BC1.
Throughout the ages, fragrances have become gradually more essential and accessible. Nowadays,
the perfume business is a billion dollar industry 2. The companies also synthesize and trade the

Art Reproduction
From an intimate perspective, art is a fundamental experience. It springs from the inborn passion
of the man to build a medium of expression of his inner life. It is immaterial whether the basic
thrust of these feelings arising out of a anguish cosmic, or of the need for play, or the desire to
express in signs and symbols the unconscious of a desire repressed. What is certain is that the art
arises with the need for expression of the man. In this sense, the term reproduction, which can have
different meanings depending on the context in which it is applied.
Reproduction in Art
The word reproduction from an artistic perspective, can be distinguished from two different points
of view. On the one hand, reproduction can refine to make copies of something. But it can also
mean a sexual behavior, which implies procreation (Lazzari Schlessier, 2016). Since the beginning
of art artistic representation was a means to bring the real presence of the inanimate by mysterious

Reproduction in the art, in terms of sexuality, is the most revealing feature of the conception of
the unity of the world. That is, a world in which everything is associated, where the sacred is
inseparable from the profane, the transcendent of the unimportant, all in order to create a new life
(Lazzari Schlessier, 2016). The history of the art shows us in his works that sexuality is present in
any of its artistic representations. For example, in the areas of art such as painting and sculpture, the
human body and sexuality formed a vital part of the art, through ages or stages. The best example
is evident in the Venus. The Venus acquired that name in an era that believed that they represented
erotic figures. These figures focus on the desire for fertility, in human and animal reproduction and
increase of the species order (Lazzari Schlessier,

Jesus Is The Christ Of Jesus
We as Christians know that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus was born in Bethlehem during the reign
of Herod the Great, around 4 to 6 B.C. At the age of 30, he was baptized by John the Baptist in
the Jordan River. After this he began his ministry teaching about the kingdom of God and
preforming miracles. His life in recorded in the New Testament part of the bible and many movies
have been made about him, such as the 1977 classic, Jesusof Nazareth. In this movie, Jesus
performs many miracles including raising people from the dead. His actions show us how God
treats people and how he should be treated. Jesus resurrected Lazarus from the dead because
Lazarus and his family had a strong faith in God. After this Lazarus became one of Jesus closest
friends. His faith resurrected him, Jesus was just the catalyst. Jesus declared that the people who
believed in him will die, yet they will live. What I believe this means is that although people will
physically die in this life, they will continue to live with God forever in Heaven. When Jesus came
to the temple, he lost his temper and destroyed the market shops. He claimed that the temple was
God s house and it should not be corrupted with buying and gambling. It was a holy place and yet
the people thought nothing about defiling it. When the woman who was caught committing
adultery was about to be stoned, Jesus said to the men chasing her, the one who hasn t sinned shall
throw the first stone. No one dared cast the first stone

Ragtime Music Research Paper
In the late nineteenth century, African American musicians introduced this syncopated, up tempo
music with a steady beat to small, unpopular venues; this style of piano music was called ragtime
because of the how ragged their arrangements were. Ragtime was like marches and it has a
European harmony with African rhythm. This style of musicbecame known as it was used for
actors to do their cakewalk, which is a high stepping dance, at the end of the minstrel shows. An
African American, Scott Joplin was named the King of Ragtime . After World War I, ragtime music
was overshadowed by the Tin Pan Alley, which was a street of publishing house with pianos playing
simultaneously (Ferris, 2014). Though, ragtime was pushed out by Tin Pan Alley,

It s a false satisfaction that people are making to post online and get as approvals aka likes as
they can get. For Murphy photoshop filtering and the relationship with images can easily be
manipulated to deceiving the eye into what you re portraying the fantasy to be. They need to get
likes to get validation.(murphy) just like rosen s view of photoshop manipulating people s views.
It s basically devaluing yourself by using filters to fit in and be accepted by peers which Murphy
points out as possible mental health issues arising from that. This is not to say that everyone who
takes a selfie is a psychopath, but it does imply a high need for self gratification, particularly if they
are posted online for social approval.(murphy) In that moment Murphy enhances Rosen s
perspective because she brings Rosen s attitude of photo manipulation and uses it as a transition to
her argument that selfie taking brings satisfaction with the likes caused by tampering/filtering the
picture. That contributes to the decline of respect for what the image represents. All relating to
the statement that we tend to lose respect for things we can manipulate aka photoshop/filtering.
The public photo is materialized and the respect for the person with all filter. They put pics on
social media to feel approved and feed off of likes and comments like crack. Murphy expresses

feeling? A Man Called Ove, a fascinating work of literature by Fredrik Backman, portraits a
cranky, grumpy, old man, Ove s journey of meeting life changing new neighbor, opening his
heart to them, and overcoming the grief and pain from a loss. After losing his beloved wife, Ove
succeedingly loses his happiness and a purpose to live. He tries to commit suicide several times,
however, fortunately, they are always interrupted by his new next door neighbor. They always
look out for him and care deeply about him which leads him out of the depression and
remembers again how it feels like to be truly loved and cared. A Man Called Ove is definitely an
astonishing work of literature that has to be read by St. Andrew s 10th grade students because it
has been rapturously reviewed by prominent critics, it has been well produced as a film, and it
depicts the issue our society is going through with human grief and sorrow after a loss, while
assisting the students to form their own standpoint about the issue. A Man Called Ove has received
countless enthusiastic reviews by prominent critics, distinctly by New York Times Book Review,
People, and Publishers Weekly. The New York Times Book Review

The Battler by Ernest Hemingway
Throughout life, the people that you may encounter and form relationships with will be the ones
that shape who you are and ultimately influence your decisions, actions and personality. In The
Battler by Ernest Hemingway, Nick Adams, a young man of roughly twenty years of age
encounters an older gentleman named Ad Francis, a once famous boxer who claims to have
gone crazy after his life as a fighter. Ad is accompanied by his best friend Bugs, a black man
who accompanies him on his travels throughout the country and helps keep Ad in check. At one
point, Bugs offers Nick and Ad some ham and eggs that he had just cooked on the fire, and asks
for nick to cut the bread with his knife. At the sight of the blade Ad demands that Nick hand over
the knife. In order to keep Nick out of any danger that might arise from a conflict with Ad, Bugs
whacks Ad in the back of the head with a frying pan, rendering him immobile and unconscious,
keeping Nick out of harms way. After Bugs knocks out Ad with the pan, he proceeds to make
sure he did not hit him too hard, making sure his eyes can close and that he is still breathing. The
strong, unassuming black man then goes on to explain why Ad is like the way he is, crazy and
unpredictable in a way that is threatening to others. He also goes on about how after Ad left the
ring, he got himself into some trouble on the streets, fighting whenever and wherever he found an
opportunity, landing himself a cell in the local jail where he met Bugs

Differences Between The Governmental Accounting Standard...
Comparing and Contrasting The Difference Between GASB and FASB By: Chris Lawson Keiser
University For as long as human interactions have allowed the exchange of value between goods
or services, accountancy has been the language of which business transactions are speaking (Salem,
2013). Accounting keeps track of and explains how money is used by non profit organizations, for
profit businesses, governments and other individuals. Sounds simple enough right? Well, in all
reality it is not that simple. Nowadays, there are many different forms of accounting let alone
different set of standards that certain, and sometimes all, organizations must follow. Today there are
two main standard setters in the United States that is responsible for providing up to date standards
for its corresponding organizations. Although these two standards are very similar in nature, they
are also very different when it comes to their own individual reporting requirements. Throughout
the rest of this paper I will not only compare and contrast the differences between the
Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB) and the Financial Accounting Standard Board
(FASB), but also how they differ when it comes to their reporting requirements. To get a better
understanding of who these standard setters are, let s go over a brief history and background of
these two accounting standard boards. The first standard board to be discussed is FASB. FASB
was created in 1973, after the Accounting Principle Board

Modern Day Zeppelins Or Airships
Have you ever seen a modern day zeppelin or more commonly known as airships? Probably not.
Zeppelins were once very popular. People all over the world wanted to fly on them, until the
well known zeppelin called the Hindenburg went up in flames. Today, there are companies that
are trying to bring back the airships that are safer for the world to use. There are many reasons
that zeppelins or airships could be very popular again. One reason they could be popular again is
because they are safe and good fro the environment. Modern day airships would use helium, a
nonflammable gas, instead of Hydrogen, the very flammable hydrogen. Helium is environment
friendly, unlike hydrogen, which was used in the 1930 s zeppelins. That is how the Hindenburg

Courtly And Secular Love Analysis
Throughout history, love has been portrayed in numerous perspectives ranging from physical to
emotional love. Literary works from various backgrounds provide distinctive interpretations of
love. Marie de France along with medieval lyric poets touch upon topics revolving around love and
spiritual affection. The pieces provide different treatments on courtly and secular love, illustrating
the comparison between the physical and emotional aspect as well. Courtly lovedraws from the
characteristics of passionate affections between nobles with someone other than their spouse (Doan,
courtly source). The treatment of love reveals the different cultural backgrounds and personal

This depiction provides the authors perspective on courtly love which contradicts modern views
of love. The husband is shown to be more of a villain, contradicting modern views where the one
having an affair is typically viewed more negative. Marie de France portrayal of the love and
specifically courtly love contrasts with modern day views. However, her works provide
perspectives of love base on her culture and time through the use of figurative language and
symbolism to depict of courtly love.
Additionally, Ibn Zaydun, an Arabian lyric poet also uses figurative language in his literature to
depict his sentiments towards spiritual love. Ibn Zaydun highlights the surrounding nature in
order to portray the peace of his love. He describes, When I see the silver/Coiling waterways/Like
necklaces detached from throats... (book324). He utilizes figurative language to express his
emotional love by comparing the surrounding beauty of nature to his pure love . He addresses the
abandonment from his lover by ending his description of nature towards the end. This provides the
conclusion of his lover s affection towards him. Ibn Zaydun and Marie de France both use
figurative language in order to convey their sentiments of emotional and spiritual love.
On the other hand, poets use figurative language in order to convey physical attraction and portray
their perspective on secular love. William IX, a French medieval lyricist,

Extraction Of Caffeine From Tea
EXTRACTION OF CAFFEINE FROM TEA
Abstract
The method used to separate the organic compound from a mixture of compound is the extraction.
It is done by the dissolving of one or more compounds in a good solvent. The solvent which was
used in this experiment was 15 ml of dichloromethane into 125ml of water. Caffeine was extracted
from 9.19 g of TAZO Awake English Breakfast. Caffeine is soluble in water in 2.2 g/ml at 20 C; it
is more soluble than dichloromethane which has 10.2g/ml at 20 C, and the method used for the
extraction was the liquid liquid extraction method, followed by evaporation. The objective of
going through all these steps was to be able to obtain caffeine from tea and to see how pure or how
the caffeine was not pure in comparing the standard values of Melt Point and RF values of the
result of the experiment.
Introduction
It is well known that tea is one of the greatest frequently used caffeinated drinks in the world. The
caffeine (C8H10N4O2) which was extracted from the tea was harsh and white. Caffeine is

Rhetorical Analysis Of John Lennon
Imagining World Peace Through the Lyrics of John Lennon
A Rhetorical Analysis of John Lennon s Imagine Imagine there s no heaven, it s easy if you try.
John Lennon opens his song Imagine and catches the audience s attention with this line. Opening
with a thought provoking question grabs the listener s attention by compelling them to think. John
Lennon was and in memory, still continues to be a leader in the effort to reach world peace. His
songs asking for peace such as Imagine, Revolution, and Give Peace a Chance still have the power
to stir up emotions in people from all over the world. Leading straight to the point, the minimalistic
style and up front approach provide no room to wonder or debate. Lennon s song Imagine illustrates

He is repetitive in the fact that he begins each verse with Imagine... and ends each verse with
Imagine all the people... (Imagine). Similar to Martin Luther King s speech I Have a Dream,
Lennon highlights his point to genuinely imagine what things would be like by reiterating it
over and over. This forces the listeners, to recognize the importants and to continuously feel the
emotion resulting in them really thinking about the changes that could be made in the world.
While it has been thirty five years since the assassination of John Lennon, his beliefs and music
have endured the test of time and continue to influence people today. His effective use of ethos,
logos, and pathos work together to help catch the attention of the listeners and enable them to
feel as though there is something they can do to further Lennon s cause. Using credibility, logic
and emotion this song was successful in the way that it definitely caught people s attention
world wide and still causes a great deal of emotions decades after it was written. Music has been
and always will be an important part of people s lives, it makes them feel some sort of emotions.
I think this song was successful in the areas of ethos, logos and pathos and will definitely
continue to be a memorable song for even more decades to come. After all, John Lennon was
never a public speaker or politician, but he still was able to get his message across

Persuasive Speech Essay
I.Introduction:
A.Relate to self and audience: I love story. Matter of facts, I would love to get to know each of
you and listen to your personal stories. Especially, I enjoy listening to struggles related stories.
Every day, each of us walks to class and acts normal , though we might carry something deep inside.
Something that is too dark which we cannot let others know. From time to time, we keep carrying
that wound. It hurts us every now and then, but we say nothing.

Therefore, oxytocin is known as cardio protective as it keeps the heart healthy (Hamilton, 2011).
Transition: What I m trying to say here is that all of these complicated processes happened because
of giving and receiving kindness. It actually improves the soul of our heart, but also its physical
well beings.
B.Main point II: Kindness reflects leadership quality because it teaches leader how to lead and take
initiatives.
Orly Wahba, CEO of Life Vest Inside, once said that a small act of kindness shows that we have a
power to make a change like a leader (TED Talk, 2014). It also demonstrates that we push ourselves
out of our comfort zone and take actions to help others (TED Talk, 2014).
She emphasizes that our kind actions, big or small, prove that we want to take charge and make
the world become a better place (TED Talk, 2014). And that, in her opinion (also mine), kindness
is such a simple, valuable quality which demonstrates a powerful role, a leader (TED Talk, 2014).
Transition: I want to you take these two points and understand them through my story and my
perception.
Need + Satisfaction + Visualization: Imagine this, you, in my body, wake up and ready to start
your day. However, before you get out of bed, you have to look real quick at social media. Right

  • 2. Travis Kalanick Leadership Question 1 In my opinion I believe that leaders such as Travis Kalanick are successful because they have a comprehensive understanding of what it is to be a leader. The thing that distinguish good leaders from great ones are the things that great leaders do differently. I think that with thorough understanding and skills of leadership they are able to do things in a different way compared to their competitors and attain positive outcomes. Travis Kalanick trusts that answers can be found to every unwelcomed situation. One just needs to have inventive ways in solving the problem (Uber Travis Kalanick Bio, 2015). There is a clear differentiation between what leaders do and what managers do. Managers deal with the complexities of procedures while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These unnoticed elements involve values, norms, behaviours and a number of components which make up the companies culture. To create a culture of excellence, I believe that the underlying tones and culture of the organisation should be understood thoroughly. • 3. An Organism Of Unknown Origin Introduction: An organism of unknown origin was selected by the course instructor in an effort to properly identify the organism with the utilization of a series of biochemical tests. This exercise was of extreme importance during the termination of the course because it was essential that each student be able to apply the practical knowledge learned through class lectures, and lab practicals in an effort to individualize such experience so that each student could properly handle a bacterial culture and identify its origin. In essence, the task of identifying the selected organism via various test is essential in order to determine key features of such organism. The test results ultimately disclose how the organism functions, and this information is useful for proper identification and handling of such culture. Materials and methods: The identification of the unknown organism was first tested using a Gram s staining procedure. This test uses a series of dyes and liquid solutions that give a bacterial smear a color contrast and aid in its identification. This method differentiates bacteria based on the thickness of their peptidoglycan composed cell walls. This Gram s staining test was initiated by first donning gloves and obtaining a clean microscopic slide which was cleaned with alcohol. The slide was then marked with a culture number, and a circle was made in the center with a marker. A drop of water was placed in the center and the excess was absorbed. A wire loop was ... • 4. Tall Building In The 19th Century There were two main factors that discouraged tall building throughout most of the 19th century: safe reliable elevators and building material limitations. During most of this time period, elevators were powered by steam and used primarily for transporting materials up and down inside a structure. Similar to technology today, elevators were raised and lowered using cables. The problem was, there were no safety devices in place in the event that a cable broke which led to the elevator falling all the way to the bottom. For this reason, no people were allowed to ride elevators and thus had to climb the structure everyday using ladders and stairs. In 1853, an inventor named Elisha Otis developed a safety device that would prevent the elevator from falling should a cable break. This device then allowed people to begin... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (1) Building materials available throughout most of the 19th century was another limiting factor when it came to constructing tall buildings. The most widely used building materials during this time period were masonry and rock. These materials were used together to construct load bearing walls, forming the support system for the structure. Two cities that emerged as key players in the development of tall building were Chicago and New York City. As these cities began to run out of room to expand, the only option was to grow upward. The biggest problem became when adding stories on top of stories, the lower walls would have to be built considerably thicker to support the weight of the floors above. At some point, this building technique became impractical because the lower walls would become so thick that there was no longer room to inhabit the space thus defeating the purpose. With the improving manufacturing processes of the time, it soon became apparent that incorporating steel into the structure of a building would cut down on the overall weight of the structure without sacrificing strength. • 5. Funding For Special Needs Education Do you know anyone in your family, a friend, co worker or even a person at school with learning disabilities? What if I told you, the help that person need to learn better and assist them with their disabilities would be taken away from them. Around the country budgets cut have been made, especially harming the programs for special needs students. The total amount that has been cut cross nation from this program, is ridiculous, $578,892,762 (www.special educationdegree.net). Here in Illinois, we have been one of the states that s been most struck by this budget cut. The progressillinois.com has said over the summer they announced that $42 million cuts... And another cut was announced for 12 million . Some think the funding for special needs education shouldn t be raised, however, they should give more funding for special needs education because it will give them more opportunities to advance in higher education, improve their social skills and help them thrive later on in life. Now tell me do you think it is fair to take away money from student who just want to learn? For a start, children with a disability already face so much, and now have to deal with their programs being cut. I know how hard is it for these students, I have a godson who has autism. He struggles everyday with the littlest thing, and yet always want to go to school. Having a disability making everything more challenging with school, work, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Dr Faustus Research Paper After the centuries of the Dark Ages, Europe began to rise from the dirt and social troubles into a modern civilization full of art and knowledge. The era of Renaissance shone above the peninsula of Italy and continuously moved to Western Europe and England. The era of reawakening began and the modern world started developing rapidly. In the 16th century, a playwright, poet and translator, Christopher Marlowe, decided to reach out even further than an ordinary human experience. In the age of social, scientific and cultural rebirth, Marlowe examined the possibilities and consequences of reaching out the most from knowledge, power and wealth. In the play, The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus, the main protagonist, Dr. Faustus, sick and tired of the limited abilities of any human individual trades his soul with the lord of the hell, Lucifer, for 24 years of limitless power, liberty and knowledge. Faustus travels around the world, unconscious about his destiny, and enjoys all of the worldly and sensual pleasures. Unfortunately, in the end, when Faustus finally realizes his fate and begs for forgiveness from God, the demons drags Doctor into the flames of hell. Through the development of the play, Christopher Marlowe illustrates Dr. Faustus metamorphosis from an ambitious superman to a fragile and frail person, who falsely believes that owns the power above his surroundings. In the beginning of the play, Dr. Faustus is found in his study maintaining ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Personality Of The Stranger In The Stranger By Albert... Emmanuel 1 Emmanuel Cann Mr. David English IV 10/16/17The Stranger The Stranger was originally written by Albert Camus in French. It was later translated into English and some of its meaning must have been lost. The original title was L etranger which translates loosely to many different words. Meursault is a character of scarce conversation, as well as emotion . But Meursault shows clear evidence of sociopath that is not conscious of his mind or his emotions. Maman died today Or yesterday maybe, I don t know (Camus 3) That doesn t mean anything, Maybe it was yesterday. The opening sentences of the strangerexemplify Meursault s existential character. Which therefore leaves him with an emotional indifference and a detachment from the people around him and his complete detachment from the rest of society around him. Meursault is an odd character, he is portrayed to the point that he can no longer return to his current emotions. Meursault seems as if he isn t able to think for himself seeing that there were countless incidents where Raymond who is his neighbor, was able to persuade Meursault. ( I ve got some blood sausage and some wine at my place. How about joining me? ). I figured it would save me the trouble of cooking for myself, so I accepted, It s very typical for Meursault to jump into a relationship with someone he just met and not for any good ... • 8. Voter Turnout Research Paper Elections are an important part of creating a legitimate state. They allow us to have a say in how decisions are made in a government. However, the voter turnout for an election does not have an effect on the type of regime that will develop in a state. It does not matter if the election is in an authoritarian government or a democratic one, the regime does not have a large impact on the turnout of voters. What matters in voter turnoutis whether the citizens believe in the regime. If they feel that the state is legitimate then they are more likely to vote. Also, if the voters believe that their vote counts and is not a wasted vote then you are more likely to have a larger voter turnout. For example, the International Institute for Democracy ... • 10. Family Reflection Paper The environment I was raised in was not the most typical. The Diversity and adversity in my family created a complex atmosphere to experience as a child. I am the first biracial child in my family. With a white mother and black father, I was exposed to two very different cultures. The diversity of my familytaught me to be accepting and open minded, along with helping me become adaptable to different types of people. As a child, I was subjected to disapproval, of my parents relationship and my own self. This judgement caused members of my family to doubt my abilities and my success. IN order to be taken seriously, I focused on improving in the things that I enjoyed. The pressure to prove my family wrong motivated me to work hard. Through my success in academics and music, my ambition and with the support of my parents I was able to gain the respect of both sides of my family. Even though I proved them wrong, as I grew older I learned of the different political standings among members of my family. With conservative and liberal views clashing, I learned to be open minded to all beliefs, and to accept and love any person, even if I disagreed with their ideas. I grew up in both a rural and suburban setting. My family owns thousands of acres of land, which I was able to experience throughout my childhood. Being able to immerse myself in nature gave me a new respect for it. I was able to experience different ways of living which helped me find my values in life. I became more ... Within the first few months of school, by then the students should have a good understanding of the expectations of the class. It takes time to teacher students the information that they need to know for the school year and prior to the next year. Teachers only have 180 days to teach the required information to the students with the assurance that the get it. A classroom management plan affects everyone. It can change the way students walk into the classroom, how a teacher does their job and how visitors act when they come to visit. I have seen this happen in an Elementary school, I have observed it. One class was quietly walking down the hallway and another class was using outside, loud voices. It was interesting the reaction some students had to the differences within the two classes. My philosophy on classroom management came from my schooling and personal observations. I do not have a physical classroom yet, but have seen many different styles each teacher uses when in the classroom. The theoretical perspective that best describes my personal philosophy is the personal needs theory. Stanley Coopersmith discussed that individuals need to experience a sense of significance, competence, and power (Jones Jones, 2010, p. 33). I believe that it is important that a student trust and builds a positive rapport or relationship with you. I believe that students, who trust and believe in their teacher, with this the student, may tend to work harder and it gives the student the belief that they can accomplish any task. BACKGROUND/ RESEARCH In 2009, GM filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was actively seeking financial assistance from the federal government. The first step was to replace the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the time, Rick Wagoner, as part of the bailout deal (King Stoll, 2009). It could be argued that James Bond is an image creation of Ian Fleming. That Fleming created an autobiography through James Bond without actually making an autobiography. Without these elements of Fleming within Bond, it s quite possible to say Bond and his story lines might not have been as successful as they are. One of these elements seemed to have more of an effect on not just one of the story lines, but all the story lines. Smoking is a sign of stress to most people. It can be used to calm them. Once they have taste of how it calms them they are hooked and never let it go. Some start and can never stop, others pick it up and put it back down with no problems at all. At one point and time or another most people hold or attempt to smoke a cigarette at least once in their lifetime. For the longest time cigars or cigarettes were used in social settings. You d sit down and talk and have a smoke. You were uncool if you didn t have one between your fingers. Whether or not one of the mentioned reasons is why Ian Fleming picked up cigarettes and never put them down is a question we can attempt to answer with the given details of who James Bond is. • 28. The Works of Blaise Pascal Why Not? Blaise Pascal argues in his work PensГ©es that skepticism regarding our nature as created by God is unavoidable if reason is to be our guide. He states that we must silence reason and look to faith in order to know ourselves as we actually are. Without rational grounds for belief in Christianity, how are we to know if Godeven exists? Pascal answers this by saying we, ourselves, already are involved in a wager as to the existence of God. (Pascal 232) Either he exists, or he does not. But, the major focus is the reward of this wager. Pascal believes that God rewards believers and punishes disbelievers, so he thinks that it is rational to be faithful. In this paper, I will argue against Pascal when he stated that it is rational to be faithful. The Wager; does He exist or does He not? Pascal uses the Wager as a tool for reasoning into faith. Reason and intellect cannot decide the question of whether God exists or not; therefore, to Pascal, it makes sense to choose the option that would benefit us most should we be right. There are four ways to look at the Wager: believe in God, and if he exists, have an eternal life of happiness, or two, believe in God and he does not exist, you do not lose anything. If one does not believe in God, but it turns out that He does exist, that individual loses the ability to gain an eternal life of happiness, but if they do not believe, and it turns out they were right; they fail to gain anything other than contentment. ... There is no unique definition of TCO, since the meaning of TCO is dependent on individual and function of organization (Ellram, 1994). That is, a world in which everything is associated, where the sacred is inseparable from the profane, the transcendent of the unimportant, all in order to create a new life (Lazzari Schlessier, 2016). The history of the art shows us in his works that sexuality is present in any of its artistic representations. For example, in the areas of art such as painting and sculpture, the human body and sexuality formed a vital part of the art, through ages or stages. The best example is evident in the Venus. The Venus acquired that name in an era that believed that they represented erotic figures. • 39. Jesus Is The Christ Of Jesus We as Christians know that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus was born in Bethlehem during the reign of Herod the Great, around 4 to 6 B.C. At the age of 30, he was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. After this he began his ministry teaching about the kingdom of God and preforming miracles. His life in recorded in the New Testament part of the bible and many movies have been made about him, such as the 1977 classic, Jesusof Nazareth. In this movie, Jesus performs many miracles including raising people from the dead. His actions show us how God treats people and how he should be treated. Jesus resurrected Lazarus from the dead because Lazarus and his family had a strong faith in God. After this Lazarus became one of Jesus closest friends. His faith resurrected him, Jesus was just the catalyst. Jesus declared that the people who believed in him will die, yet they will live. What I believe this means is that although people will physically die in this life, they will continue to live with God forever in Heaven. When Jesus came to the temple, he lost his temper and destroyed the market shops. He claimed that the temple was God s house and it should not be corrupted with buying and gambling. It was a holy place and yet the people thought nothing about defiling it. When the woman who was caught committing adultery was about to be stoned, Jesus said to the men chasing her, the one who hasn t sinned shall throw the first stone. No one dared cast the first stone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This style of musicbecame known as it was used for actors to do their cakewalk, which is a high stepping dance, at the end of the minstrel shows. An African American, Scott Joplin was named the King of Ragtime . In The Battler by Ernest Hemingway, Nick Adams, a young man of roughly twenty years of age encounters an older gentleman named Ad Francis, a once famous boxer who claims to have gone crazy after his life as a fighter. Ad is accompanied by his best friend Bugs, a black man who accompanies him on his travels throughout the country and helps keep Ad in check. At one point, Bugs offers Nick and Ad some ham and eggs that he had just cooked on the fire, and asks for nick to cut the bread with his knife. At the sight of the blade Ad demands that Nick hand over the knife. In order to keep Nick out of any danger that might arise from a conflict with Ad, Bugs whacks Ad in the back of the head with a frying pan, rendering him immobile and unconscious, keeping Nick out of harms way. After Bugs knocks out Ad with the pan, he proceeds to make sure he did not hit him too hard, making sure his eyes can close and that he is still breathing. The strong, unassuming black man then goes on to explain why Ad is like the way he is, crazy and unpredictable in a way that is threatening to others. Comparing and Contrasting The Difference Between GASB and FASB By: Chris Lawson Keiser University For as long as human interactions have allowed the exchange of value between goods or services, accountancy has been the language of which business transactions are speaking (Salem, 2013). Accounting keeps track of and explains how money is used by non profit organizations, for profit businesses, governments and other individuals. Sounds simple enough right? Well, in all reality it is not that simple. Nowadays, there are many different forms of accounting let alone different set of standards that certain, and sometimes all, organizations must follow.
