Tiger Conservation And Reserves Been Successful
If the tiger is saved, it will ensure the maintenance of healthy natural ecosystems, not just for tigers,
but for everyone. (Freed)Are is the last line in the novel Riding the Tiger: Tiger Conservation in
Human Dominated Landscapes. . Tiger conservation is a process that our world has been trying and
carefully perfecting over the years, more so after tigers were officially put on the endangered list.
Tigers are one of the more popular endangered species in the world and because of the public eye, the
pressure for their protection is high. Mostly reserves are what organizations focus on because they are
the best answer for the tiger. So, how what about our conservation are successful? How have they
been improved? How are they dealt with on a social political standpoint? In what ways has human
efforts towards Tiger conservation and reserves been successful? Through understanding, research,
experiments, and Trial and error Tiger conservations have become better and more successful, and
humans understanding of tigers have grown in order to assist in this process.
Enclosures have shown to have the most effective way of protecting tiger populations. The enclosures
are closed of plots of land that humans overall cannot interfere with, except replenishing prey in need
be and protecting the boarders. Enclosures are the best form of conservation because there is little
human intervention, the tigers are still wild and can grow and live by natural ways, which will allow

Duke Ellington s Impact On Popular Music
Considered one of the greatest jazz composers of all time. Duke Ellington had an enormous impact on
the popular music in the late 1920s. For almost fifty years he toured the world as a bandleader and
piano player. Today his recordings are among the most popular jazz of the big band era.
Born in Washington D.C. in 1899 Edward Kennedy Ellington was his name or better known as Duke
began playing piano as a child. His mother who also played the piano saw his education and by the
time he was seventeen he began playing professionally. Becoming a famous piano player in
Washington D.C. Ellington started to make his own music. In 1922 he moved to New York and by
1923 he formed his own band called the Washingtonians. By 1926 Ellington s band had found a small
amount of fans and started playing their music at Harlem s famous Cotton Club. This was to be a
major turning point in his career, providing him with access to larger audiences through radio and
recordings.
The group grew larger in size in size and Ellington took the chance to be a leader in it. They played in
what was called jungle style their slick arrangements often recognized by the sound of trumpeter
James Bubber Miley. A good example of this is Ellington s first signature song, East St. Louis ... Show

believed in letting the sound of each musician play against each other. He wrote music that topped the
particular style and skills of his career. The best members of his band were Jimmy Blanton, Johnny

The Storming Phase Of Group Development
The purpose of this proposal is to research why members, who find themselves in a group that has
elements of an intimate and task group, continue their membership after the group enters into the
storming phase of group development. That is to say, why members stay involved after expressing
frustration and disagreement over decisions that are made. This research proposal is designed to
identify the key factors of why members, who represent their group culture, find it easy to complain
about the balance of power in their organization. The following proposal will outline a comprehensive
strategy to study and analyze the data.
Group Process The main group process that will be studied is the Storming Process, from Tuckman s
Stages of Group Development. Particularly, the effects the storming stage has on members that already
feel dissatisfied with the group and how they reconcile those feelings to stay apart of the group and
enter into the norming stage. The storming stage is where members start to rebel against some of the
expectations that the group has. The conflict could be between working styles, rules or authority, but it
regardless, storming has the ability to make the group fail (Tuckman, 1965 via Forsyth, 2014).
According to Marilyn Brewer s Optimal Distinctiveness Theory, members yearn for a balance between
wanting to be assimilated, connecting to friends within the group, and feeling autonomous and
differentiated (Forsyth, 2014). If members constantly are trying

The Message Behind The Laugh Essay
The Message Behind The Laugh When people look at cartoons, most do not study the underlying
message, but simply find humor in the split second message they just read. Dating back to The Golden
Age, 1770 1830, a few men known as Townshend, Bunbury, Woodward, and Nixon, transformed the
art form, introducing a more playful style and a strong element of personal caricature
(http://www.cartoonmuseum.org/explore/history of cartoons comics). [Webster] defines a cartoon as a
drawing, as in a newspaper or magazine, caricaturing or symbolizing, often satirically, some action,
situation or person of topical interest (quoted in Gerberg 128). Cartoons are divided into sub
categories depending on their purpose, and the message the author is trying to portray because each
cartoon has a different goal the author is trying to achieve. In today s age, we turn to expert Mort
Gerberg to interpret the definition of cartoons and educate how cartoons are utilized to express
opinions using different tones. Gerberg is a professional cartoonist whose work has appeared in
publications such as The New Yorker, Playboy, Harvard Business Review, and The Huffington Post
(128). He has contributed to 43 books on the topic of cartooning during his career and he wrote, What
Is a Cartoon, to argue that cartoons are rhetorical constructs using images and languages to express
opinions. A type of cartoon that plays an important role in society is known as political cartoons.

Symptoms And Treatment Of Bipolar Disorder
It seems every day that goes by we hear someone being labeled as bipolar or another celebrity is
getting diagnosed as being bipolar after their spurts of erratic behavior. I had to ask the question, does
anyone really know what it means to be bipolar? Bipolar disorder, also known as manic depressive
illness, is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, and the ability to
carry out day to day tasks (NIMH). Suffering from bipolar disorder can mean suffering from drastic
changes in mood from one minute to the next. This illness can make getting through the simplest daily
tasks impossible and can even cause the person suffering to become suicidal. There are typically three
states that a person with this illness will experience; manic, depressive and mixed states. This illness is
typically diagnosed in late teens to early twenties and is treatable, but will usually last a person s entire
life. At this time there are no medical tests or exams performed to determine if a person is suffering
from bipolar disorder. Usually a trained mental health professional can determine the diagnosis after
evaluating the person. Bipolar disorder can run in families, although there are some relating factors,
scientists have not yet determined any keys in genetics as far as passing the illness on. The first of the
three states is the manic state. In this state a person may feel extremely joyful or overexcited. A person
suffering from this illness may

Dissonance Theory
cause that individual to change overall attitudes toward an object. An alternative to Rosenberg s theory
is Festinger s theory of cognitive dissonance. While Rosenberg s theory deals with affect and
cognition, Festinger s theory examines consistency among cognitive elements or beliefs about oneself,
behavior, or environment. Dissonance occurs when elements are logically inconsistent or
psychologically inconsistent because of cultural mores, specific opinions deviating from more
encompassing opinions, or information or experiences that are contrary to previous information or
experiences. Dissonance motivates the individual to reduce the dissonance and return to consonance.
When faced with dissonance, the individual seeks to avoid situations or information that may increase
dissonance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Studies on counter attitudinal advocacy are based on dissonance theory. Individuals who are asked to
write an essay or present a speech promoting a position contrary to their beliefs become committed to
certain aspects of the contrary position. This causes dissonance, which the individuals attempt to
reduce by changing their original position or attitude. The stronger the magnitude of the dissonance,
the stronger the need to change the original attitude. The simple act of decision making creates
dissonance, too. The magnitude of the dissonance is related to the importance of the decision and the
attractiveness of both the chosen and the unchosen alternatives. Researchers have a better
understanding of the interactions between attitudes and opinions and actions and behaviors, so
consistency theories that are not directly related to processes are of little interest to today s cognitive
scientists who tend to be more process oriented than behaviorists who studied consistency

Examples Of Allusions In The Hollow Men
T.S Eliot s The Hollow Men is a broad allegory for deliverance in a landscape reminiscent of
purgatory. Eliot provides examples of allusion, imagery, and paradox to describe a fully realized
apocalyptic scenario that affirms the hopelessness of a godless world. The poem begins two allusions:
literary and historical. Mr. Kurtz he dead is reference to Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. Kurtz
was a man who had lost his humanity after traveling to Africa and succumbing to insanity. A penny for

references Guy Fawkes, a British rebel infamous for his involvement in the Gunpowder Plot , set to

Eugene O Neill and the Influence of Relgion of His Work
As a child we are thrown into, with no say in it mind you, the religious views and beliefs of our
parents. Catholicism, Christianity, Muslim, Buddhism, etc., whatever it is that our parents were taught,
we are now taught by them. In this paper I will give a brief family history of Eugene and where their
faith lies as well as look at the effect religion had on him throughout his life and, of course, on all of
his work. Eugene s father, James O Neill, and his mother, Mary Ellen Quinlan (known as Ella) had
two very different backgrounds. James grew up Irish Catholic and came over to the States with his
family to escape the famine (Black pgs. 1 2) while Ella had a very wealthy and stable household.

Eugene studied Taoism, along with all the other religions of his interest, during the early 1920s, which
is commonly referred to as his Substitute God Search phase. Taoism revolves around the meaning of
Tao which translates to the way . All followers of Taoism understand that the Tao governs everything
that they do and everything that happens in the world (Washington State University website). The
books that I have mentioned in the previous two paragraphs were a part of Eugene s library and he had
several more on Taoism to boost his knowledge on the religion even further. A translation of Tao Te
Ching by James Legge and some of the Chuang Tzu, a Chinese philosopher known for his famous
story the butterfly dream , were found in his library. O Neill s study went much deeper into the
oriental religions because of his play Marco Millions, which just happened to be Eugene s one and
only play set in the far east. He and his third wife, Carlotta Monterey, went on a cruise to China in
1928 to further his research and knowledge of the Oriental culture but another reason behind this
could have been that Carlotta studied the Chinese and their culture avidly. She probably helped
Eugene in the layout of the setting for Marco Millions and she also owned numerous books on the
culture (poetry, painting, architecture, etc.,). Eugene and Carlotta shared so much passion

Huns Facts
The Huns are best known to be barbaric, or cruel, group that tore down villages and killed people that
got in their way of what they wanted. All people were afraid of the Huns because they were really
mean and destroyed everything when they attacked places. Historians are not sure exactly where the
Huns came from or what language they spoke, but the Huns did not let anyone or anything get in their
way of what they wanted. The exact origin of the Huns is not exactly known, but history shows that
the Huns lived in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. They were present between the 1st
century and the 7th century. The Huns were nomads of the Central Asian Steppes. They appeared right

How Carbon Is The Most Abundant Element
Carbon is the 15th most abundant element in the Earth s crust and is the 4th most abundant element by
mass in the universe. It is found in a large majority of organic material on Earth and its ability to bond
in many different ways allows for a large diversity of organic compounds. These organic compounds
that are formed in different shapes and structures are called allotropes. Carbon is a special element that
is the base for almost all organic compounds and since it can form many allotropes of itself, and its
allotropes have many different uses that can be applied to modern science. The most common
allotropes of carbon are: diamonds, amorphous carbon, graphite, nanotubes, and fullerenes. Some of

Diamond is one of the most commonly known carbon allotropes. One of the properties that it is
known for is how hard it is. It is a natural material with the highest reading on the Vickers and Mohs
scale. Diamond also has a very high thermal conductivity. The reason it has these properties is mainly
due how the atoms are structured. This structure is a varied version of a face centered cubic and is
called a diamond lattice. These two properties are what diamonds are used for in major industrial
application. Since diamonds are always decaying to graphite, the properties vary depending on the
perfection of the crystal lattice and its orientation. Diamonds have other less important properties
when it comes to being used in industry. The difference in colours of diamonds, depends on impurities
in the crystal lattice structure that alters the wavelength of light that is absorbed. They also have,
luster, fluorescence, optical absorption, electrical properties, thermal conductivity, and thermal
stability. Diamonds are known for being used as jewelry, however the majority of mined diamonds are
used for industrial purposes. Since diamonds are super hard, they can be put into drill bits in order to
cut other really hard materials. They can cut other softer gemstones into a symmetrical or more
beautiful shape so they can be sold. Diamonds are used to conduct heat, they are used to coat
microchips to conduct electricity, and they are used in many

Disney s Influence On Disney
Disney has been around for many generations of people s lives and has had a true impact on most of
society, but now Disney is slowly straying away from the true purpose that they have built all of their
old work upon. No longer is Disney focused on being a magical company, but more of one that has the
most power in the world, which they have already been able to achieve. Disney now appears to be
profit hungry by producing films that relate to society rather than inspire it, or repeat an old animation
film through live action, i.e. Cinderella. Society s influence on Disney became so grand, with the
demands of more feminist movies, different ethnicities, etc. that Disney decided to please society.

While these perspectives have well thought ideas, from my view point, Disney is straying away from
being magical to slowly transforming into becoming a people pleasing company. All of this helps
them gain more profit and creates greed/lust for more.
Disney has been alive through many generations. As people age, the mind s thought process changes.
Due to this, it is said that people grow out of old interests, which some put Disney into this. Instead of
Disney being the one to change, it is the older generations. Disney supposedly aims for a certain age
group. In a journal by Towbin, children are discussed towards the beginning because Disney is known
to have a huge influence on them through media because media is how they learn now a days and
Disney takes a part in shaping their future. That is where the argument appears about Disney not
changing because if they truly changed, the children would not enjoy the films as much as they do
already, always wanting to be a certain Disney princess or another character. Adults have already
found their passion, how to function and go through life, this being said, the Disney films are just
there for the adults to watch for entertainment if wished, and if not, it was intended for a child to begin
with. Others believe Disney has changed their purpose of their work, but for the better. The shell of
stereotypes are broken within the films, and the

Underlying Causes Of Autism Spectrum Disorder
Underlying Causes of Autism Spectrum Disorder
Ariel Robinson
Biology 4800 Fall 2016
Autism Spectrum Disorder is a developmental disorder that displays characteristics of significant
impairments in social interactions and communication, obsessive interests, and repetitive behaviors.1
The DSM 5 characterizes Autism Spectrum Disorder as having a range of symptoms with varying
severity, hence the term spectrum .2 Figure 1 shows a representation of the symptoms and sub types of
disorders that are characterized as ASD. The disorder is generally not diagnosable until around 18
months 2 years of age, when children would usually start to display signs of social communication.
ASD has a high prevalence of 1 in every 68 children, with boys 4.5X more likely to have the disorder.
Currently, scientists do not know the exact cause of autism. However, it is agreed upon that the
underlying cause is highly likely to be influenced by genetic heritability.3,4,16
ASD research is important for several reasons. The most apparent reason is the dramatic increase in
the occurrence in the last 20 years. Other reasons are economic costs of children with ASD,
burdensome responsibilities, and emotional hardships on parents, family members, and communities.
Factors contributing to the increase could very likely be caused by our better understanding of the
disorder and diagnosis due to human genome sequencing technology and other scientific research.
Another factor that could explain the rise of

Cadbury Takeover
Case Study: Cadbury Takeover
Introduction:
In the beginning of 2010 the US food giant took over one of the most famous British confectionary
companies, Cadbury, affectively making Kraft the largest food confectionary company in the world
(Smith, 2010). According to Rigby and Masters (2010) the takeover was one of the biggest and most
hotly contested acquisitions in the UK . The process was exhaustively followed by media, which
criticized inability of British Government to limit takeovers of such famed British brands in the future
as it is part of the British identity. Moreover, during such process a large number of employees have

According to Lawrence Hrebiniak: Kraft ... has scared off Cadbury employees by trying to make their
decentralized culture fit the US company s highly structured approach (Lucas and Rappeport, 2011).
For Cadbury s employees this meant increased uncertainty about their future employment overall, as
well as structure of the internal relationships and management style, especially as a result of a closure
of a number of factories as well as mass redundancies (Stiff and Ralph, 2011).
Employees on the lower level of the hierarchy had to get used to new structure of the company, which
meant that many of them have to report to different managers than previously. On top of that, due to
the merger, employees of two different companies now have to work side by side, and considering that
employees of Kraft feel they should be dominant (Lucas, 2011), it can reflect negatively on the
relationship between employees not only vertically on the hierarchy, but also horizontally. Of course,
relationships are not changing only for Cadbury s employees, Kraft workers are also directly affected
(Lucas, 2011), as takeover involved changes for them also including closure of Kraft factories and
redundancies of Kraft s employees (Stiff and Ralph, 2011).
The takeover had also impact on the employees higher up on the hierarchy. As mentioned by one of

First Post There were many culprits in the subprime loan debacle in the United States starting
somewhere around the middle of 2006. Gilbert (2011) state many levels of contributors participated in
this mortgage lending crisis. Gilbert (2011) portends some of these included loan applicants, mortgage

and advisers, and purchasers of the collateralized mortgage obligations (Gilbert, 2011).
People are advised to establish credit early in life to be able to buy homes and automobiles to live

Graphic Images And Biological Markers
Abstract For all neuropsychiatric disorders, there are key graphic images and biological markers, also
known as biomarkers, which can facilitate early diagnosis and the formulation of the most efficacious
intervention. In sum, biomarkers work similar to a calling card by identifying the symptoms and the
impact it is having on the individual. In some cases of depression, there are clear signs that can help
clinicians understand the lasting effects on the person by identifying the condition s etiology, ruling
out alternative diagnoses, and predicting progression when used in combination with other clinical
tools and patient interviews. Biomarkers are indicators of a disease state as they can be used to

Together, these different elements will highlight the effects of depression and how they shape the way
someone sees the world around them. Outline Of Depression There are a number of different types of
depression, all of which interfere with people s day to day lives. Two of the more severe types are
major depression and persistent depressive disorder (Johnson Indvik, 2009). These types of depression
are generally characterized by feelings of hopelessness and helplessness, low mood, negative attitudes
about the self, joylessness, and increased sadness, with the former lasting a few days, weeks or months
while the latter persists for two years or more (Johnson Indvik, 2009). A subclinical biomarker is
determining the specific signs of depression and how they might affect an individual s behavior. The
most notable signs for depression include structural abnormalities in the hippocampus (Fu Costafreda,
2013), decreased left midfrontal gyrus activities, improving right frontal gyrus activation, increased
connections between the precuneus seed region and rising left orbitofrontal cortex /paracingulate
activation during non win outcomes during a reward processing task (Felder et al., 2012). These
elements are showing the long term impacts depression will have on the body. This is taking place

Role Of Punishment In Puritan Society
Theft, murder, and adultery are some of the major crimes in the Puritan society. In the Puritan society
the teaching of God and evading sinful actions was widely encouraged. If any crime or sinful action
was portrayed, desperate measures had to be taken. Due to their holy teachings, Puritans believed the
punishments for any wrongful doing against their teachings should be forcefully handled. For
instance, punishment during the Puritan society were almost always public, to ensure nobody missed
the point (Cox, 2003). One of the most common punishments in the Puritan society was public
whippings. Public whippings were used to serve as consequences for small crimes, such as theft.
Individuals who were sentenced to whippings were entitled to twenty to forty lashes that usually
resulted to blood being shed (NVRHS, 2006). This example above shows how Puritans dealt with the

Our goal as a preschool team is to find an effective approach to preschool writing or a better way of
thinking about the writing process. By providing effective writing opportunities at the preschool level,
our students will become better readers, listeners, and writers. Input Although No Child Left Behind
(NCLB) has focused attention on improving reading and math achievement, little attention has been
given to other subjects including writing. If state or local policies do not support the teaching of
writing, there is a possibility that teachers will neglect writing instruction (McCarthey, 2008). Within
the past few years, my district adopted the STORYtown curriculum for reading and writing as a plan
to improve student literacy scores district wide. Many teachers in my district admitted that since they
struggle with finding time and an effective way of teaching writing, it is often overlooked. Learning to
write is developmentally important for nurturing literate children. To resolve this issue, teachers are
now raising questions about which methods are the best for the learners of today and where to begin
this process. Research cannot identify one single approach to writing instruction that will

Essence of Korean Studies in our Local Universities
I feel that Korea needs no introduction. Friends who have visited say their stay could only be equated
to that of being in outer space. It is remarkably extraordinary. I look forward to proving the veracity of
the statement once I visit in the near future. However with my limited knowledge, the Korea I know is
one resilient and self driven nation. It has gone through thick and thin to emerge as the 12th largest
trading nation and its influence is vast and far reaching. In recent years, we have seen Korea emerge
not only as an influential nation but as a world super power. To qualify as a member of the G 20 is no
mean fit. In 2010 we witnessed the country host the G 20 summit where the leaders of the twenty most

Analysis Of Frederick Douglass s World Literature
Jenifer E. Forrest Leslie Lovenstein World Literature from 1650 to the Present Online 26 November
2014 Frederick Douglass: From Chains to Podium When a man grows up as an untaught slave in the
southern eighteenth century, he has no other ambitions than to be free. But for Frederick Douglass,
freedom was merely step one. Douglass began his life on a plantation owed from the moment he
arrived. He was not destined to stay put there. Born in (what he can come close to) 1818, he began life
out as a man in chains but ended up a respected wordsmith, but still apologetic for his short comings.
Douglass learned how to read, write, and give speeches; he influenced a nation for changes among
writers today; and he had different approaches to the era he lived in, but knew he wanted change to
exist among all. These things were needed to occur in order for the slavery and African American
society to be recognized as equals among all. His wit was not small nor was his leadership not seen as
defiance. Each step of his journey, brought him to a different place where he faced a challenge that
could not have been met any other way, but with strength and education where he was successful in
obtaining. Douglass was not only a speaker, but was an author of his time. Many colleagues wrote of
him and his life even after he passed away. In Douglass works he spoke of his ignorance and blunders,
but continued to sow his good seed. In the book The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglas an

Editing, Cinematography, and Sound in Gladiator Essay...
Editing, Cinematography, and Sound in Gladiator
The film that I have chosen to analyse is Gladiator. I have chosen to analyse the scene where the
gladiators are battling in the Middle East. The scene contains many features and editing techniques
which make the fight sequence exciting and thrilling. The scene begins with a medium high angle shot
of a goat with blood dripping down its body. This shot frames the body of the goat and gives it a sense
of vulnerability. The shot creates meaning to the viewer who can predict that the scene might contain
violence or bloodshed of some sort. The camera then zooms outward into an establishing shot to give
the viewer an idea of the setting. The mise en ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lighting is very low key and most of the light filters from the roof, overhead. The overhead
lighting dominates the gladiator s faces and brings out their facial features. This effect shows the
faces of the gladiator s and their anticipation of the battle which is about to commence. Non diegetic
orchestral music starts to begin once more building the tension. The camera then cuts into a close up
of every gladiator whilst moving slowly to the side where it stops and gives us a side view shot of the
gladiator s showing in detail their facial expressions. This is where the dialogue of the main
character begins and the camera moves slowly to a medium low angle shot, thus giving the character a
sense of authority. The character speaks slowly and when he accentuates an important point the
camera moves to a close up of the main character of the film (Russell Crowe), showing the viewer his
feelings and his anticipation. In the background there is the external diegetic sound of the crowd
chanting, kill, kill, kill. This along with the orchestral music sounds like a heart beat as there is a short
pause between every chant. Again the heart beat sound reiterates the anticipation of the gladiators; this
is effective as it makes the scene more exciting and exhilarating to watch. The mimic of the heart beat
and chanting are

Death By Scrabble Irony
There are three types of irony. Death by Scrabble is an ironic story by Charlie Fish. The characters in
this story are not named, but readers get to know the 42 years old man and his wife. Within the story,
you learn that the couple is uneasy in their relationship. The story Death by Scrabble shows verbal,
situational, and dramatic irony.
In the story Death by Scrabble uses verbal irony a lot. For instants when the man says If only I had a
D, then I could play MURDER. That would be a sign. That would be permission. He doesn t really
want her dead he just doesn t want to play scrabble. Or when he says The steam rising from her cup of
tea makes me feel hotter. I try to make murderous words with the letters on my rack, but the best I can
do is SLEEP. My wife sleeps all the time. She slept through an argument our next door neighbors had
that resulted in a broken door, a smashed TV and a Teletubby Lala doll with all the stuffing coming
out. And then she bitched at me for being moody the next day from lack of sleep. She doesn t sleep all
the time she just is a heavy sleeper. She clearly doesn t sleep all the time because she is playing
scrabble. The verbal irony leads to the situational irony. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like when the man stats My wife plays DEATH for 34 points, just as the room starts to shake. I gasp
with surprise and vindication and the B that I was chewing on gets lodged in my throat. I try to cough.

builds to a climax. As a reader you would expect the wife to die but he ends up chocking on a scrabble
piece and dies. We would expect the wife to die because the man keeps wishing she were dead. The
dramatic irony plays off of the situational irony like the situational irony played off of the verbal

How Did John Muir Conserve Nature
John Muir lived on this earth from April 21, 1838 to December 24, 1914. For as long as he lived, Muir
devoted himself to the environment. Muir was so dedicated to nature and protecting the wilderness,
that he is known as the Father of National Parks. Muir was an advocate for the preservation and
conservation of forests and natural resources. He constantly urged that nature should be under the
protection of the federal government. He created the Sierra Club that worked to protect the
environment. Muir wrote numerous articles and books about nature and the conservation of it. It was
important to him that there were places in the wilderness that were safeguarded in their entirety and it
is of the utmost importance that we continue John Muir s works. We only have one earth, so we need
to do everything we can to preserve it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First and foremost, God was more easily found in nature than in works of man. This quote really
resonated with me. In the The National Parks: America s Best Idea video, it talked about Muir finding
a stronger faith with God out in the wilderness than he could in any church. Being a religious person
myself, I really do find these quotes to be true. When you submerge yourself into the beauty of nature,
I feel you really find yourself inspired and in awe of God s creations. Another reason I chose Muir is
for all the work he s done to aid in the creation of National and State Parks. My family of six never
really has the time or money to ever go on vacation, so when we do, we always go to National and
State Parks, wildlife refuges, historical places, and other things of that nature. Most of my favorite
memories of my family are essentially because of Muir. Without the founding of these places I m
afraid we would all be so absorbed in ourselves and in technological advances. That we would miss
the true beauty that s right outside. From what I ve watched and read, he just seems like a guy I d get

The Legal Laws Regulation Bill 2011
Introduction
The Legal Profession in Ireland is made up of two main divisions, Solicitors and Barristers.
The Profession and their practises have long been faced with recommendations for reform. The 1990
The Fair trade Commission Report into Restrictive Practises in the Legal Professions is one such
report giving recommendations for change and more recently The Competition Authority s 2006,
Study of Competition in Legal Services. The OECD has also in the past released disapproving reports
on the levels of competition within the profession. It is fair to say most of the pressure for reform
stems from outside the Legal Profession itself.
Up until now all these reports have purely been on a recommendations basis, however change ... Show

The bar as they are collectively known is not regulated by statute. This means that currently the Legal
profession in Ireland is currently largely self regulated.
When regarding Regulation of the profession, the 2006 Competition Authority s report summarises,
that they would like to see the introduction of an entirely independent statutory body entitled the Legal
Services Commission to provide external regulation to the profession, it explains that The Bar Council
and The Law Society are the representative bodies for Solicitors and Barristers, this status requires
them to lobby on their behalf of their members. A conflict is created as they are also for the most part
the soul regulators for the Professions. The Legal Services Commission proposed by The Competition
Authority suggestion still allows the representative bodies, some form of day to day regulatory
function but it would be a requirement that this function be held and operated completely separate
from their individual duties as a representative body.
With regard to regulation, the 2011 Legal Services Regulation Bill puts forward the establishment of
the Legal Services Regulatory Authority consisting of 11 members, appointed by the government. Its
aim, also to provide independent regulation separate from the professional bodies but it intends to
provide places on the board for them. The Bar Council of Ireland has raised concerns, they maintain
that, if

M Night Symbolism
In M. Night Shyamalan s movie The Sixth Sense symbolism and foreshadowing is used throughout.
The use of the color red is the most obvious form of symbolism. The color red is used to show
important moments, presence of spirits, paranormal events, etc. in the movie.
Red is used to highlight the most important moments in the movie or just items of interest that the
viewer should take note of. From the first scene of the movie you can start to notice the red
symbolism. Malcolm and his wife are discussing his awards and it s shown to be invaded inside of a
red frame. Another example of symbolism is towards the beginning of the movie when Cole is at the
birthday party and he follows the red balloon upstairs where he has an encounter with a paranormal ...

This part of the film was somewhat confusing to me. I thought maybe he didn t like talking to anyone
besides his patients. I thought Cole was his patient so he only talked to him. After seeing the scene
where Malcolm and Cole s mother were sitting together waiting for Cole to come home I thought that
maybe he was having a conversation with her but towards the end of the movie it was clarified that
Malcolm was never talking to her or interacting with her. I noticed that Cole refused to interact with
Malcolm in that scene but would ve never done so if they were alone. Another part of the movie that
was somewhat confusing to me was if those kids from school were hitting Cole or if it was his mother.
I initially thought that it was the kids but after seeing how Cole s mother was so impatient with him I
thought it maybe could ve been her. Again, the ending of the movie where Cole finally revealed his
secret to his mother clarified the whole thing. He explained to her that the ghosts would do that to him.
I believe some parts of the movie were meant to confuse the viewer to have them thinking something
completely opposite of the truth. The people who were behind the movie really paid attention to the
detailing and really ended up explaining everything at the end of the

Writing Out Notes And Homework On A Computer
With technology s new advancements, students are getting their homework done a lot sooner than they
used to by writing their notes out on the computer instead of on paper. Is getting homework done
faster worth having to study longer later? Writing out notes and homework by hand has more
educational benefits than typing notes and homework on a computer. Various studies have proven that
writing notes have a variety of benefits that exceed those of typing notes on a computer; retention rate,
distractions, and higher grades.
In an experiment done by Mueller and Oppenheimer, students were instructed to take notes, some
students did so by hand, others by laptops. Afterwards, they were given a test on what they took notes
on. Students who wrote ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results were that those who took the standard class had considerably higher marks than those who
took the hybrid class. Those in the hybrid course earned an average of only 69.2% while the students
in the lecture earned an average of 77.9%. According to the researchers, students in the hybrid course
were less engaged with the material than those in the traditional section. (Adams) This is why they
believe that those who took the standard class were more successful in earning better grades than the
other students. In a different study by Robert Williams and Allan Eggert, Notetaking aids one s ability
to recall noted information and do well on exams related to that information. This is why it is so
important for students to take notes in class. When you write out notes in class while the teacher is
talking, you are forced to listen and summarize the key points of the lecture because writing notes are
significantly slower than typing the notes. When students take notes on computers, they generally tend
to type exactly what is being said instead of focusing on why it is important. When these students go
back and read their notes, they don t have a decent conceptual understanding of what was written
beforehand. COnsequently, these students need to spend more time studying to get the same results as

Health Concerns And Health Issues
Health communication informs the consumer about health concerns and health issues. Social change
and communication works hand in hand. Developing a dialogue in social change to help bridge the
gaps due to lack of communication will be a positive step in better health care. Health communication
has much to celebrate and contribute. The field is gaining recognition in part because of its emphasis
on combining theory and practice in understanding communication processes and changing human
behaviors (Parrott R. , 2004). I am passionate and committed for this cause as communication is one
of the basic means of interaction in day to day life. I will address the lack of communication in health
care, some of the downfalls as well as some solutions. As a professional agent of communication one
must possess sustainable development and leadership skills to be open for change and new ideas.
Being international, one must notice that as the world change, you have to evolve with the changes
and be able to communicate effectively. We have to think about how sustainable we can be.
Brundtland Report said Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It contains within it
two key concepts: the concept of needs, in particular the essential needs of the world s poor, to which
overriding priority should be given; and the idea of limitations imposed by the state of technology and

Art Education For Public Schools Persuasive Slice
Outline: Art Education for Public Schools Persuasive Slice Brain experimentation confirmation is one
of the several proofs education as well as commitment in fine arts is constructive for a child s

increased awareness in mind, body, voice, arts education has had a tremendous impact. In its several
ways, it supports the advancement of the whole child along with preparation of a life filled with
opportunities for learning and delight. Art education is sadly interpreted as more of a luxury rather
than a must to a child s education; although research has proved that simple, creative activities serve
as essential building blocks for a student s future development. In addition, the fine arts provide
students non academic aid such as an increase in self esteem, motivation, improved emotional
expression and appreciation in diversity. Students cherish that their voice and interests are listened to

Think About Themselves The way that men think about themselves can be quite unhelpful. Compared
with women, they tend to be far more concerned with being competitive, powerful and successful.
Most men don t like to admit that they feel fragile or vulnerable, and so are less likely to talk about
their feelings with their friends, loved ones or their doctors. This may be the reason that they often don
t ask for help when they become depressed. Men tend to feel that they should rely only on themselves
and that it is somehow weak to have to depend on someone else, even for a short time. This traditional
view of how men should be always tough and self reliant. Some men find that owning up to their
depression actually results in their partner rejecting them because of this. Even professionals
sometimes share this view, and may not diagnose depression in men when they should. Instead of
talking about how they feel, men may try to make themselves feel better by using alcohol or drugs.
This will usually make things worse in the long run. Their work will suffer and alcohol often leads to

Context Of Public Administration
Public administration and its role within the context of U.S. democracy and politics is complicated due
to the division amongst Americans and power held by political parties. The main objective of public
administration is to serve the people and protect individual freedoms from big government. However,
American citizens make it difficult to fulfill this objective by voicing their opinions on how they want
to be served and how the government should be run. The division amongst Americans has been an
integrated part of our government since its inception.
In the late 18th century, the Founding Fathers were divided over their opinions of what the size and
how much power the national government should have. The Constitution was formed over disputes
and disagreements which is evident in the publication of the Federalist Papers. The Federalist Papers
exposed the heavily debated battle for the approval of the Constitution. (Box, 2014) The battle to get
the Constitution ratified was almost lost due to different opinions on how the government should be
run. The ratification of the Constitution is an integrated part of our government s history that shows
the complexity and complication of public administration.
Kraft Furlong (2018) speak of Americans being ideologically conservative but liberal in practice to
government service. (p. 40). Americans are conflicted about what type of government they want. They
want to maintain their individual liberties and minimize the power of the

As strangers who know that they are never going to see each other again, and who have nothing to

have never been living for themselves, but for others, governed by societal pressures. In a sense each

As women give more importance to relationships and affiliations, they always give priority to the

merging their own identity in the process. In Ladies Coupe, Akhila is governed by societal pressures

The Storming Phase Of Group Development The purpose of this proposal is to research why members, who find themselves in a group that has elements of an intimate and task group, continue their membership after the group enters into the storming phase of group development. That is to say, why members stay involved after expressing frustration and disagreement over decisions that are made. This research proposal is designed to identify the key factors of why members, who represent their group culture, find it easy to complain about the balance of power in their organization. The following proposal will outline a comprehensive strategy to study and analyze the data. Group Process The main group process that will be studied is the Storming Process, from Tuckman s Stages of Group Development. Particularly, the effects the storming stage has on members that already feel dissatisfied with the group and how they reconcile those feelings to stay apart of the group and enter into the norming stage. The storming stage is where members start to rebel against some of the expectations that the group has. The conflict could be between working styles, rules or authority, but it regardless, storming has the ability to make the group fail (Tuckman, 1965 via Forsyth, 2014). Individuals who are asked to write an essay or present a speech promoting a position contrary to their beliefs become committed to certain aspects of the contrary position. This causes dissonance, which the individuals attempt to reduce by changing their original position or attitude. The stronger the magnitude of the dissonance, the stronger the need to change the original attitude. The simple act of decision making creates dissonance, too. The magnitude of the dissonance is related to the importance of the decision and the attractiveness of both the chosen and the unchosen alternatives. Researchers have a better understanding of the interactions between attitudes and opinions and actions and behaviors, so consistency theories that are not directly related to processes are of little interest to today s cognitive scientists who tend to be more process oriented than behaviorists who studied consistency ... In this paper I will give a brief family history of Eugene and where their faith lies as well as look at the effect religion had on him throughout his life and, of course, on all of his work. Eugene s father, James O Neill, and his mother, Mary Ellen Quinlan (known as Ella) had two very different backgrounds. A translation of Tao Te Ching by James Legge and some of the Chuang Tzu, a Chinese philosopher known for his famous story the butterfly dream , were found in his library. O Neill s study went much deeper into the oriental religions because of his play Marco Millions, which just happened to be Eugene s one and only play set in the far east. He and his third wife, Carlotta Monterey, went on a cruise to China in 1928 to further his research and knowledge of the Oriental culture but another reason behind this could have been that Carlotta studied the Chinese and their culture avidly. However, it is agreed upon that the underlying cause is highly likely to be influenced by genetic heritability.3,4,16 ASD research is important for several reasons. The most apparent reason is the dramatic increase in the occurrence in the last 20 years. Other reasons are economic costs of children with ASD, burdensome responsibilities, and emotional hardships on parents, family members, and communities. We only have one earth, so we need to do everything we can to preserve it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First and foremost, God was more easily found in nature than in works of man. This quote really resonated with me. In the The National Parks: America s Best Idea video, it talked about Muir finding a stronger faith with God out in the wilderness than he could in any church. Being a religious person myself, I really do find these quotes to be true. When you submerge yourself into the beauty of nature, I feel you really find yourself inspired and in awe of God s creations. Another reason I chose Muir is for all the work he s done to aid in the creation of National and State Parks. My family of six never really has the time or money to ever go on vacation, so when we do, we always go to National and State Parks, wildlife refuges, historical places, and other things of that nature. Most of my favorite memories of my family are essentially because of Muir. Without the founding of these places I m afraid we would all be so absorbed in ourselves and in technological advances. That we would miss the true beauty that s right outside. From what I ve watched and read, he just seems like a guy I d get along ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. The Legal Laws Regulation Bill 2011 Introduction The Legal Profession in Ireland is made up of two main divisions, Solicitors and Barristers. The Profession and their practises have long been faced with recommendations for reform. The 1990 The Fair trade Commission Report into Restrictive Practises in the Legal Professions is one such report giving recommendations for change and more recently The Competition Authority s 2006, Study of Competition in Legal Services. The OECD has also in the past released disapproving reports on the levels of competition within the profession. It is fair to say most of the pressure for reform stems from outside the Legal Profession itself. Up until now all these reports have purely been on a recommendations basis, however change ... This means that currently the Legal profession in Ireland is currently largely self regulated. When regarding Regulation of the profession, the 2006 Competition Authority s report summarises, that they would like to see the introduction of an entirely independent statutory body entitled the Legal Services Commission to provide external regulation to the profession, it explains that The Bar Council and The Law Society are the representative bodies for Solicitors and Barristers, this status requires them to lobby on their behalf of their members. A conflict is created as they are also for the most part the soul regulators for the Professions. The Legal Services Commission proposed by The Competition Authority suggestion still allows the representative bodies, some form of day to day regulatory function but it would be a requirement that this function be held and operated completely separate from their individual duties as a representative body. With regard to regulation, the 2011 Legal Services Regulation Bill puts forward the establishment of the Legal Services Regulatory Authority consisting of 11 members, appointed by the government. Its aim, also to provide independent regulation separate from the professional bodies but it intends to provide places on the board for them. The Bar Council of Ireland has raised concerns, they maintain that, if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. M Night Symbolism In M. Night Shyamalan s movie The Sixth Sense symbolism and foreshadowing is used throughout. The use of the color red is the most obvious form of symbolism. The color red is used to show important moments, presence of spirits, paranormal events, etc. in the movie. Red is used to highlight the most important moments in the movie or just items of interest that the viewer should take note of. From the first scene of the movie you can start to notice the red symbolism. Malcolm and his wife are discussing his awards and it s shown to be invaded inside of a red frame. Another example of symbolism is towards the beginning of the movie when Cole is at the birthday party and he follows the red balloon upstairs where he has an encounter with a paranormal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This part of the film was somewhat confusing to me. I thought maybe he didn t like talking to anyone besides his patients. I thought Cole was his patient so he only talked to him. After seeing the scene where Malcolm and Cole s mother were sitting together waiting for Cole to come home I thought that maybe he was having a conversation with her but towards the end of the movie it was clarified that Malcolm was never talking to her or interacting with her. I noticed that Cole refused to interact with Malcolm in that scene but would ve never done so if they were alone. Another part of the movie that was somewhat confusing to me was if those kids from school were hitting Cole or if it was his mother. I initially thought that it was the kids but after seeing how Cole s mother was so impatient with him I thought it maybe could ve been her. Again, the ending of the movie where Cole finally revealed his secret to his mother clarified the whole thing. He explained to her that the ghosts would do that to him. I believe some parts of the movie were meant to confuse the viewer to have them thinking something completely opposite of the truth. The people who were behind the movie really paid attention to the detailing and really ended up explaining everything at the end of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Writing Out Notes And Homework On A Computer With technology s new advancements, students are getting their homework done a lot sooner than they used to by writing their notes out on the computer instead of on paper. Is getting homework done faster worth having to study longer later? Writing out notes and homework by hand has more educational benefits than typing notes and homework on a computer. Various studies have proven that writing notes have a variety of benefits that exceed those of typing notes on a computer; retention rate, distractions, and higher grades. In an experiment done by Mueller and Oppenheimer, students were instructed to take notes, some students did so by hand, others by laptops. Afterwards, they were given a test on what they took notes on. Students who wrote ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The results were that those who took the standard class had considerably higher marks than those who took the hybrid class. Those in the hybrid course earned an average of only 69.2% while the students in the lecture earned an average of 77.9%. According to the researchers, students in the hybrid course were less engaged with the material than those in the traditional section. (Adams) This is why they believe that those who took the standard class were more successful in earning better grades than the other students. In a different study by Robert Williams and Allan Eggert, Notetaking aids one s ability to recall noted information and do well on exams related to that information. This is why it is so important for students to take notes in class. When you write out notes in class while the teacher is talking, you are forced to listen and summarize the key points of the lecture because writing notes are significantly slower than typing the notes. When students take notes on computers, they generally tend to type exactly what is being said instead of focusing on why it is important. When these students go back and read their notes, they don t have a decent conceptual understanding of what was written beforehand. COnsequently, these students need to spend more time studying to get the same results as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Developing a dialogue in social change to help bridge the gaps due to lack of communication will be a positive step in better health care. Health communication has much to celebrate and contribute. The field is gaining recognition in part because of its emphasis on combining theory and practice in understanding communication processes and changing human behaviors (Parrott R. , 2004). I am passionate and committed for this cause as communication is one of the basic means of interaction in day to day life. I will address the lack of communication in health care, some of the downfalls as well as some solutions. As a professional agent of communication one must possess sustainable development and leadership skills to be open for change and new ideas. Being international, one must notice that as the world change, you have to evolve with the changes and be able to communicate effectively. We have to think about how sustainable we can be. Brundtland Report said Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It contains within it two key concepts: the concept of needs, in particular the essential needs of the world s poor, to which overriding priority should be given; and the idea of limitations imposed by the state of technology and ... Compared with women, they tend to be far more concerned with being competitive, powerful and successful. Most men don t like to admit that they feel fragile or vulnerable, and so are less likely to talk about their feelings with their friends, loved ones or their doctors. This may be the reason that they often don t ask for help when they become depressed. Men tend to feel that they should rely only on themselves and that it is somehow weak to have to depend on someone else, even for a short time. This traditional view of how men should be always tough and self reliant. Some men find that owning up to their depression actually results in their partner rejecting them because of this. Even professionals sometimes share this view, and may not diagnose depression in men when they should. Instead of talking about how they feel, men may try to make themselves feel better by using alcohol or drugs. This will usually make things worse in the long run. • 37. Context Of Public Administration Public administration and its role within the context of U.S. democracy and politics is complicated due to the division amongst Americans and power held by political parties. The main objective of public administration is to serve the people and protect individual freedoms from big government. However, American citizens make it difficult to fulfill this objective by voicing their opinions on how they want to be served and how the government should be run. The division amongst Americans has been an integrated part of our government since its inception. In the late 18th century, the Founding Fathers were divided over their opinions of what the size and how much power the national government should have. The Constitution was formed over disputes and disagreements which is evident in the publication of the Federalist Papers. The Federalist Papers exposed the heavily debated battle for the approval of the Constitution. (Box, 2014) The battle to get the Constitution ratified was almost lost due to different opinions on how the government should be run. The ratification of the Constitution is an integrated part of our government s history that shows the complexity and complication of public administration. In a sense each story is separate but their being together in one compartment provides the framework and holds the story together like a ribbon holding a bouquet of different kinds of flowers of different shapes, colours and fragrances.
