Hip-Hop Playas
Glocalizing Keepin it Real: South Korean Hip Hop Playas by Jamie Shinhee Lee discussed the
globalization of hip hop and what is considered as real hip hop in South Korea. Lee explained
about how hip hop had spread throughout many countries in the world, and its impact can be seen
particularly in his example of S. Korean hip hop. Four hip hop groups: Epik High, Dynamic Duo,
Drunken Tiger, and Soul Company are used in support of his argument of glocalization in South
Korea. Playa like Tiger JK was raised in Los Angeles, and thus experienced localized hip hip in
America, but also in S. Korea. Tiger JK found raps about Korean stereotypes untrue and often
misunderstood; therefore, he began writing lyrics to promote peace and harmony in hip hop.... Show

Instead, hip hop should be deemed fake or real intentionally based if it s as a product for market
or playas personal expression. According to Lee s study, there was a common theme found in
playas lyrics and suggested that, South Korean hip hop playas practice of keepin it real
demonstrates global local syncretism. S. Korea are not using their own ideas and concepts, but
global elements and characteristics are also incorporated too. This incorporation was evident
from S. Korea playas use of English, hip hop clothing, costumes, and similar concepts. It s
already not pure because these characteristics are not original, but the differences are it intention.
Critics may argued that hip hop is dead or is no longer real because of globalization and
diffusion. These playas are still rapping about their country s problems and personal issues, but
how do people know if it s real or fake. Since globalization is a major component of blending hip
hop globally, music corporation are largely affected the quality and authentic of contemporary hip
hop. Playas are in this business to make a living, and often don t have control of their choices from
these corporation. Lee talked about the Korean Wave, and its influence to international audiences.
At large, the Korean Wave is carried by Korean pop music, but Korean hip hop

Kiss Research Paper
I chose to do my review on the most entertaining band to ever perform on stage. Even today it
still shocks me every time I watch one of their old performances on YouTube. This band is Kiss
no one can entertain the way Kiss did in the 70 s. As a band they brought a great amount of
energy and excitement to the crowd. I chose to review them to learn more about their history and
style that they used. Kiss is a hard rock band that formed in 1973 by Paul Stanley and Gene
Simmons. The band started in New York City, New York. They started the band because the two
were both working dead end jobs and wanted to change up their life. They found this change in
musicwhere they became wildly successful. They made millions of dollars from their music careers

Glam band started original in England before spreading to the United States. These English bands
that introduced this glam style were performers such as, David Bowe, T Rex, and Roxy Music.
Some of them most important U.S. band that first picked up this style were the New York Dolls
and Alice Cooper. These two bands many claim to be the two biggest influence on Kiss and
broke way for this wild and outrageous theater style rock. Although none of these other artist
were the same as Kiss it is likely that the band would not have been able to push the envelope as
far if they didn t have other band open up the world to outrageous stage proformaces. The New
York Doll were one of the first band to experiment with men in make up and long hair and many
people today probably wouldn t know who they are, but if you ask them about Kiss they are sure
to know them. Thanks to other band taking the first initial backlash for being different Kiss was

Compare And Contrast Brave New World And Invisible Man
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and Invisible Man by H.G. Wells both have characters with
complex minds. The authors were alive at the same time, and certain events affected both authors.
Wells published Invisible Man in 1897, but Huxley published Brave New World in 1931. Since
each author published when they were in their thirties and likely had a similar mindset at the time
of writing, their characters have an interesting link between them. Brave New Worldis about life
changing to fit liberal ideas. Invisible Man is the story of a power hungry guy. Between them,
they have characters with similar roles. Huxley made a character Bernard as a runt who is
unsatisfied with life and wants to be accepted. Wells made a character Marvel as a runt who is
satisfied with life and got bullied into service by the invisible man. Bernard may have been made
to show where Huxley thought he fit in his modern world, unsatisfied with the government and
wanting to change it. Wells may have made Marvel to represent his feelings of being forced to do
something he didn t think was morally correct. Characters Helmholtz and John savage of BNW are
both similar to Dr. Kemp of IM. All three characters are cast as the good guys, trying to do the
correct thing by modern standards. John and Kemp are both outcasts among the people they live
with, while Helmholtz and Kemp are both shown as being more intelligent than the people they live
around. Since both authors created characters with those

Disadvantages Of Penis Enlargement
Penis Pump Before and After Overview
People are always looking for ways to make things better, to increase efficiency and to improve
their own ways of doing certain things and it s become very clear that this tendency applies to
penis enlargement as well. While it s very natural that every man should develop his own way of
performing penis enlargement exercises in order to suit his needs and preferences, there are also
men who try to use not just one but two or more penis enlargement techniques at the same time.
Traction devices and pumps are used together with exercises and all three of these techniques are
further customized by individual users.
Nevertheless, while traction devices can be used with relative ease and without major problems,
pumps are a somewhat more hazardous tool. Unless you are an ... Show more content on

If the pump is used correctly you have a good chance of seeing gains faster than relying on the
exercises alone. Your penis will also be getting a more intensive workout which will help bring
along more of those coveted girth gains that every man wants. Pumps can get you hard faster than
a porn magazine and your own fist and that should be a big help when you need to do an exercises
that requires a full or partial erection. As you can see, there are some advantages to using pumps.
In general, homemade penis pumps are not an ideal approach to permanent penis enlargement. But
if you want a bigger penis instantly and can t wait for 12 weeks or more, the penis pump should
work just fine. However, you need to learn how to use penis pump.
Bear this in mind, though: not all penis pumps are alike. Those $29 penis pump devices are a
huge waste of time. They either fell apart in a few days or simply do not work. It s so much safer
to go for a top of the line product which will last for years and help you make that good first

My Mother Has A Unique Sense Of Humor
As the years go by, I gain a better understanding of my mother, and although she has shared her
story to me over those years, I still have not heard it all. She was born Adriana Manzano De La
Cruz in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on September 8th, 1972, and despite the challenges she faced as a
child, she has grown into the amazing person I call mom. Her infectious laugh and sarcastic
tendencies have made life all the more livable for me and have shown me that life is meant to be
spent in joy and happiness. She shows her humility through her dire need for saving money, not
to fund our need for expensive luxuries but our constant need for food, clothing, shelter, and
education. The strength she finds in God is absolutely astonishing, and it has gotten her through
inconceivable hardships. I admire my mother as the woman of good humor, humility, and strong
faith in the Lord that she is. My mother has a unique sense of humor. Most every time she
speaks, her words are dripping with sarcasm, and often times, what comes natural to her, is to
respond to what she feels is ignorance with a sarcastic remark. When the question, Mom, where
do I put the trash? is asked, she, without fail, retorts with, on your head. It has always been her
mind set that if you ask a stupid question, you ll get a stupid answer. At times, she does not even
reply with words but only with a face that reads really? I remember so many times where I myself
have been deemed worthy of a slap to my own ego and was

Pros And Cons Of Naplan
HSC Minimum Standards: Missing the Real Concern
NAPLAN, the assessment program launched almost 9 years ago and already a subject of criticism
and controversy, is becoming increasing intertwined with education in NSW. The NSW Education
Standards Authority has attempted to address what they call falling standards in the NSW education
system, implementing harsher standards that mean preventing students failing to receive a Band 8
from receiving a HSC. These minimum standards , backed by former minister for education
Adrian Piccoli, have already garnered considerable attention and criticism. Already many parents
believe that their children will no longer be able to obtain a HSC, and they will do anything to try
and push up their child s result adding to the environment of already competitive pressure which
we see in schools throughout NSW, and further fuelled by so called NAPLAN practice books and
aggressive private tutoring.
Although I admit NAPLAN is a useful assessment tool, we use it for the wrong purposes. It is
irrational for use NAPLAN to as a student s indicator of eligibility to sit for the HSC: it has ... Show

of expecting an improvement in literacy and numeracy while effectively holding back resources

creation of such a test based education system is expected to contribute to wider segregation of
underperforming and academically successful students, which may see HSC turnout numbers
plummet. NAPLAN results are grossly inadequate to elect students which are deemed below the
standards and we should be doing more to act on information gained on NAPLAN, instead of using

Average cost is total cost divided by total output at a specific point. For instance if 100 units are
produced and total cost incurred is 200 then average cost of one unit would be 2/unit. Whereas
Average revenue is calculated same as average cost however, instead of total cost we take total
revenue. Marginal cost is cost of producing one additional unit of output or in other words a rise in
total cost when output rises by one unit. Similarly marginal revenue is the rise in total revenue
when output rises by one unit. For instance, if total revenue generated by 100 units is 200 and for
101 units it is 201, then marginal revenue would be 201 200=1. Output/Sales VolumeTotal

It can also be seen that when the marginal cost is lower than the marginal revenue, profit is
increased. When marginal cost is equal to the marginal revenue profit is maximized. After this
point, when marginal cost is above the marginal revenue, profit starts to fall. Therefore, profit is
maximized when MR=MC. In the above graph Y axis consists of amount whereas X axis
represents level of output. It can be seen clearly that at output level of 8, MC=MR (two lines
cross over here) which is the output where profit is maximized. Similarly as we extended the
connector line above to get the price (average revenue) this is 23.5 as in the table above. Profit:
When MC=MR, profit is 84 which is the highest possible amount in current circumstances.
Possible Market Structure: It is clear from the above data that the firm is certainly not working
under perfectly competitive market. In perfect competition, firm cannot afford to sell at lower
price. If elasticity is calculated at different points, it can be seen that elasticity is decreasing from
top to bottom but still the demand is very elastic. For instance at 9 units elasticity is 5 (in absolute
terms) which is still much greater than 1 which means that it can be monopolistic competition or
oligopolistic environment. But chances of monopoly are less because in monopoly demand is
usually inelastic. However, to decide between oligopoly and monopolistic

Speech On Discipline
Discipline is a highly sought after quality in work, school, sports, and in almost everything.
Without discipline, there can be no success or spiritual growth. With discipline comes success;
discipline also means doing things most people do not want to do. Luther talks about the
importance discipline in his writings. He says in freedom of a Christian, Here then the works
begin; here he must not take his ease; here he must give heed to exercise his body by fastings,
watchings, labour, and other regular discipline, so that it may be subdued to the spirt, and obey
and conform itself to the inner man and faith and not rebel against nor hinder them, as is its
nature to do if it is not kept under (Luther). He is saying discipline is really important to
controlling the body and not the other way around. Have discipline in the daily tasks or smaller
tasks, and there will be discipline in the more important tasks or bigger tasks. What is the
definition of Discipline, one might ask? Merriam Webster defines discipline as, training that
corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character (Discipline). Discipline is so
important to life, without it nothing would get done. One thing is for sure, not everyone is born
with natural talent; everyone has the ability to be disciplined and work hard in their everyday
tasks. The Apostle Paul says No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on,
however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for

Problem With The Problem Of Evil
The Problem with the Problem of Evil
I am arguing that the Logical Problem of Evil (LPE) is not a successful argument to reject the
existence of God. This is due to the LPE arguing with an inaccurate definition for the word good .
With the correct definition of good, I will show that an all good and all powerful God can logically
exist simultaneously with evil. A response for my objection could be the Furthermore, if we allow
the inadequate use of the word evil , the LPE still does not constitute the immediate rejection of the
existence of God due to the concept of free will. A response to this objection is that individual
humans are not free and are therefore not morally responsible for their actions. However, I will
show that this response fails to disprove the existence of God.
Logical Problem of Evil In the article Evil and Omnipotence , J. L. Mackie argues his version of the
LPE. He defines evil to be concepts that good can abolish or get rid of. For the sake of this paper I
define Mackie s concept of evil as pain and suffering. In Evil and Omnipotence Good is defined to
be the taking away of pain and suffering. This definition of good and evil allows this argument to
become valid :
1.God is all powerful and all good
2.Evil exists _
3.God Doesn t exist
The above argument is valid due to the logic that an all powerful and all good God would be able
to and should eliminate all the evil in the world. However, since pain and suffering (evil)

Experiential Therapy
Experiential therapy is a theoretical orientation that has been researched and utilized extensively.
The origin of this theory can be traced back to the humanistic existential theory of human beings.
Ludwig Binswanger is credited with bringing the concepts of existential and phenomenological
thought into the field of psychology. Binswanger was a psychiatrist who had strong misgivings
regarding Freud s theories of human beings. As a result of his dissatisfaction with the limitations of
Freudian theory, Binswanger began to search outside of the existing arena of psychological theories
for alternative models to explain the thoughts and behavior of individuals (Mahrer, 1983).
The primary tenet of experiential therapy revolves around the notion

Saint Brigid s Centre For The Arts
Saint Brigid s Centre for the Arts in Ottawa was formally called St. Brigid s Church as a Roman
Catholic Church which was designed and built by architect John. R. Bowes and his son, James

Among Architecture terms, a vault is an arch shaped structure used to provide an enclosed space

How Communication Changes Each On A Child s Age

According to Communication Skills (Skills You Need, 2015) Communication is simply the act of

(using printed or digital media such as books, magazines, websites or emails), visually (using logos,

grammar and expression. At this age range, children are still learning to tell stories and recall
information in correct order. Meaning they can narrate events, by using past and present tense

Abbot Suger Of St. Denis And The Rise Of Gothic Architecture

Abbot Suger of St. Denis and the Rise of Gothic Architecture Religion has always been a part of our
identity. Today, the population wander around the world seeing these wonderful churches and
religious buildings all around us. The architectural style of the Middle Ages was very prominent:
high stone vaults, internal elevations of multiple stories, rounded arches, and thick walls. This was
characterized as Romanesque architecture. Suger revolutionized everything. He reworked these
ideas and introduced, to the world, what is now known as the Gothic architectural style. Although

People were criticizing the new building and was not very keen of the idea of renovation. Suger
still pushed for his project and fulfill his dreams to glorify the church. He began to rebuilt the
church in 1137. One of the reasons behind this construction was that he was not contended with the
dark and sinister style of Romanesque architecture. He wanted the church to be an expression of
modernity and enlightenment. (Verdon and Dally 190 191). Suger considered it as modern because
it was not heavy looking and inspiring. His critics, including Bernard of Clairvaux, called it Gothic
because it was unrefined, barbaric and non Roman (Bradbury 295). These criticisms were all wrong
because it was completely renewed and this symbolized the top achievement of the medieval
civilization. However, they were right that it was completely not Roman. This building represented
the apex of achievement because, after centuries of being under the influence of the Roman empire,
Suger gave birth to something new, something extravagant and

Kentucky s Role During The Civil War
Kentucky s Role during the Civil War The world has faced the dangers of war almost since the
beginnings of time, and America in the mid 1800 s was no different. Despite the Union having
won its freedom from England during the Revolutionary War less than a century before, problems
were brewing internally within the young and rapidly expanding country. As slavery boomed in the
southern states, the North grew less and less content with this state of affairs. It is said that to
southern whites, the Republican victory in 1860 presented an immediate danger to the slave
owning republic that had existed since 1776 (Henretta, 2012, p. 418). Southerners were not ready
to lose one of their most valuable commodities, slaves, which they feared would happen under the
leadership of Abraham Lincoln, although he promised to safeguard slavery where it existed but
vowed to prevent its expansion (Henretta, 2012, p. 420). Unheeding of Lincoln s vows, and hoping
to preserve the individual state s rights, radical southerners chose the dangerous enterprise of
secession (Henretta, 2012, p. 418). This secession began first in the state of South Carolina, when
on December 20, 1860 a unanimous vote was taken to dissolve the union now subsisting between
South Carolina and the other states (Henretta, 2012, p.418). This idea of secession spread quickly
to the surrounding southern states, resulting in five other states declaring secession within the
month. At a meeting of the seceding

Transitioning from Legacy Systems to an Enterprise...
Transitioning from Legacy Systems to an Enterprise Resource Planning System:
Benefits and Challenges

Abstract:
As a result of technological advancements, modern businesses seek new and improved methods of
conducting their business processes. Systems have been designed to augment and manage core
business functions such as production, accounting, procurement, and human resources. However,
even with these systems in place, information is unreliable and inconsistent if they are on disparate
platforms. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software tackles this problem by integrating
business processes into a centralized system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the information that was used to compose this paper was taken from prior ERP articles,
online reference tools, and ERP books.
What is an ERP System?
An ERP system integrates an organization s data and services in a single system. ERP systems
combine computer hardware and software during the process of integration. One thing most ERP
systems have in common is the use of a single database that is used to store information for
different system components. To obtain an ERP status, a given software package must successfully
function as at least two systems. For example, a software package can hypothetically be considered
an ERP system if it can execute human resources and financial functions.
Even though this will accomplish the function of an ERP system, ERP applications typically
support much larger business platforms (Wikipedia, 2007).
ERP, in its entirety, provides a single database that stores all the data for its individual modules.
Some of the modules an ERP system supports include, but is not limited to:
Manufacturing
Supply Chain Management
Financials
Projects
Human Resources
Customer Relationship Management
Data Warehouse
Table 1.1 summarizes the various modules that an ERP application supports and the business
functions that are carried out within each module.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Have you ever felt the need to wash your hands again, even though you just did so seconds
earlier? Or maybe felt intense anxiety over everyday tasks, such as sending a letter and
believing you may have misspelled a word. You may feel that this is just a personal issue, but in
reality, many people all over the world share the same thoughts and feelings. Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder, or more commonly called OCD, as defined by (Obsessive, 2010), is a
type of mental illness that causes repeated unwanted thoughts. This common disorder can be
found in nearly every region and culture around the world, so even though one dealing with it
may feel alone, the person sitting right beside them could easily be suffering from something
similar. According to (How Many People, 2012), their best estimates found that one within every
one hundred adults, or nearly two to three million adults just within the United States suffer from
some type of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Also, they found that at least one within every two
hundred children and teenagers, or five hundred thousand in the United States only, also deal with
this disorder. That number parallels with the amount of children in the United States who have
diabetes. To show the commonality of OCD in our society, it s important to know specific cases
of well known people; especially for those who do feel alone in their feelings. According to

Review Of Richard Adams Watership Down
Would you read a book about adventure, survival and brotherhood? What if it was about
humanity and nature? Now, what if it involved bunnies? Watership Down is an award winning
book by Richard Adams. Described as redefining anthropomorphic fiction by critics, the book
won both the Carnegie medal and the Guardian children s prize. Tackling big ideas, the author
weaves an adult tale of human struggle disguised as a book about bunnies. Besides granting the
powers of speech and intellect, he has gifted his rabbits with trembling fears, clownish wit, a
folklore of proverbs and poetry, and a language called Lapine, complete with a glossary! The book
tells the story of Fiver and his brother Hazel. Fiver foresees great danger to the rabbits warren.

ABSTRACT Scientists all across the world have used model organisms to study genetics. These
organisms are selected based off of easily noted physical characteristics, their small sizes and
relatively short generation time, and also being readily available to use and tractable. That is why
Drosophila melanogaster is a great model organisms because it fits all these characteristics. I

melanogaster flies were not yet adults, but in their pupa stage, so the first day of the experiment
we made two culture vials by first placing about 1.5 cm of flakes along with about four grains of
yeast into each vial. Then, with a glass pipette, a solution of water and 1% propionic acid is
added to the flakes and yeast to hydrate them. This will cause the flakes and yeast to turn blue,
and the solution is added until it is a consistent bright blue color where no isolated flakes are
visible (it is helpful to mash up the flakes and yeast). Once the necessary color is established, the
vials need to sit for about eight to ten hours. If whenever, at any time during the experiment, the
media cracks or has a faded color, the fly solution is to be added once more to rehydrate the
media. After the media is made, a net is folded lengthwise first and then placed into the vial in a
shape of a U so that flies will be able to pupate. Finally, the vials were labeled with a vial number

Fraley s Two Models Of Discontinuity In Attachment Theory
Although the social and cognitive mechanisms invoked by attachment theorists imply that stability
in attachment style may be the rule rather than the exception, these basic mechanisms can predict
either long run continuity or discontinuity, depending on the precise ways in which they are
conceptualized (Fraley, 2002). Fraley (2002) discussed two models of continuity derived from
attachment theorythat make different predictions about long term continuity even though they were
derived from the same basic theoretical principles. Each model assumes that individual differences
in attachment representations are shaped by variation in experiences with caregivers in early
childhood, and that, in turn, these early representations shape the quality

Supreme Court Decision-Making
Segal, Timpone and Howard s article Buyer Beware? (2000) draws upon existing research into the
appointment of Supreme Court justices by seeking to empirically prove Robert Dahl s 1957 theory
that a justice s voting typically reflects the policy preferences of the president who appointed them,
thereby allowing presidents to achieve their policy goals even after leaving office (pp. 557 558).
The authors clarify this by stating that in the event of a clear correlation, concordance should not be
considered synonymous with responsiveness. Put simply, the research is not proposing that
Supreme Court justices are directly influenced by the decisions of the president who appoints them,
but merely that the president and appointee share the same political... Show more content on

As Hulbary and Walker note in The Supreme Court Selection Process (1980), presidents may
consider a range of factors when selecting their desired justice, such as age, race, religion and the
likelihood of the nomination gaining the Senate s approval. Thus, it would be reductive to
conclude from Segal, Timpone and Howard s research that shared policy preferences are the
primary goal of a nominating president in all cases. The authors rightfully acknowledge this by
highlighting Dwight Eisenhower s nomination of William J. Brennan, a justice far more liberal
than his appointer who is widely believed to have been chosen as a concession to northern
liberals before the 1956 election (pp. 569 570). A more recent example of this trend would be the
2016 nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court by Barack Obama. While it is unlikely
that the centrist Garland would have been Obama s first choice to fill the vacant seat left by
Antonin Scalia, he may now represent the least worst scenario, insofar as he stands a small chance
of being approved by an obstructionist Republican Senate. If this occurs, it would surely be treated
as a victory by the current White House administration. As such, it is important not to automatically
conflate ideological differences between president and justice with a failed appointment, a trap that
the article occasionally falls into (p.

Use Your Own Language Analysis
Society today is quick to judge and state what is wrong and what is acceptable by the public.
While some differences between Spelling Matters and Use Your Own Words are obvious, the
similarities are relevant. Anne Trubek says that perhaps it is time to change or alter grammar
rules to match the current generation and culture. We should advance our guidelines about what is
proper and improper along with what is happening right now with the language. While Mikita
Brottman says, bad spelling can be a godsend a way of weeding out those who are thoughtless and
inattentive to detail (p. 219). Nonetheless, to observe that something is a mess and conclude that
we should remove all limits and let it get even messier is absurd. Yes, English spelling is hard to
learn. English spelling is a terrible mess (p. 221) says Anne Trubek. Modern technology does not

With modern technologies, the way we write and read is changing rapidly, and with such changes
so must spelling. Both authors make valid points, but at the same time have different views. Both,
Mikita Brottman and Anne Trubek are passionate about spelling and grammar. Brottman says that
spelling counts, grammar counts, and consistency counts in rГ©sumГ©s. Mikita Brottman states
that everyone especially those applying for a job should know how to properly spell the name of
their field of expertise. Trubek says that as long as the message gets understood, spelling is not
necessarily as important as the meaning behind the message. No, autocorrect and spellcheckers are
wrongheaded because they reinforce a traditional spelling standard. Consistent spelling was a great
way to ensure clarity in the print era. But with new technologies, the way that we write and read
(and search and data mine) is changing, and so must spelling. (p.

Article Analysis Of The North Korean Missile Launch
North Korean Missile Launch
After reading the articles about the North Korean missile launch on August 29th of 2017, Both
news sources portray bias in their own particular ways but Fox news seems to side. Fox states a
quote from Trump talking about all options are on the table due to the fact that North korea just shot
a missile over Japan. He talks about how the world is getting the message from North korea is
threatening. The misle showed that it could reach Guam if it really wanted to. Where the

The one that used more quotes was the Washington Post which from doing some research is a
democratic source. Which is why I think they used more quotes on what Trump had to say about
the situation to make it seem worse than it really was. Where Fox just got right to the point of what
was going on about the missile launch.
One thing that I noticed that was really strange about both articles were how similar the title and
the start of the articles were to each other. The titles are almost the exact same the word choice is
used a little differently but very similar. As for the start of each article they both start off with
the exact same line with President Trump said Tuesday that all options are on the table . Then
briefly after that get into the main subject of their stories. The washington post provided a
picture of trump right at the top of the article as well as a video of trump talking about the event
and a video of the missile being launched by north korea. Where Fox only provided one video of
just 2 males talking about the event. All of these are very different from each other and both are
setting different tones and giving setting a bias tone in my opinion.
The articles both had very different sources on where they got their information for the article. Fox
news claims that the associated press contributed to the report. Where on the other hand the
Washington Post got there sources

Essay On Primordial Gravitational Waves
Primordial gravitational waves (GWs) are a theoretical stochastic background of gravitational
radiation from the early universe which may be detected from their polarising effect on the cosmic
microwave background (CMB) or by future generations of interferometers such as eLISA [1]. Able
to propagate through the opaque primordial universe, they could allow us to determine the initial
state of the universe as well as gaining a valuable insight into physical processes that occurred at
this time. There are several theoretical processes in the early universe which could contribute to this
background of GWs including cosmic strings, first order phase transitions and inflation [2][3].
Cosmic strings are hypothetical one dimensional... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
GWs from cosmic inflation may be detected indirectly from their imprint on the CMB, as they
produce a pattern of curled B mode polarisation. This polarisation is generated by Thompson
scattering between photons and electrons. The magnitude of B modes can tell us about the speed
of cosmic inflation and therefore eliminate different theoretical models and bring us closer to
understanding the beginning of the universe [1][8][9]. However gravitational lensing can also
produce B modes and so must be accounted for to avoid false detection [10]. The BICEP2
experiment announced detection of primordial GWs in 2014, however their results were
discredited as they could be attributed to cosmic dust [11]. Primordial gravitational waves have the
potential to unlock vast knowledge of the processes that took place in the earliest moments of our
universe and encourage a leap forward in our understanding of the theories which underpin all of
physics including general relativity and high energy physics. The next generation of space based
interferometers should be capable of making these detections, revolutionising our understanding of
the primordial universe and taking yet another step toward solving the largest problems in modern
physics.

The Effects Of Social Unrest On The Middle East And North...
The United Nations defines a youth as someone who is between the ages of 14 and 28. An
unemployed person is defined as an individual who does not have a job but is actively seeking
work. Across the globe, high rates of youth unemployment put the future of the global economy at
risk. Young people make up 17% of the global population but also make up 40% of the
unemployed. The Middle East and North Africa have the highest youth unemployment rates,
where one in four young people are unemployed, which drives social unrest. The reason that this
issue is so important to the global stage is because of the effects that social unrest; riots and
protests have on individual states. In their most extreme form, these protests can lead to
revolutions that can topple entire governments and send nations into chaos. In 2011,
unemployment and unrest in the Middle East and North Africa Youth gave way to the Arab
Spring, which was months of rioting and protests to remove the governments of several countries,
most notably in Egypt and Libya. Unemployment is even higher in some parts of Europe, as more
than 50% of young people in Greece and Spain are out of work. The failure of the Greek economy
will have even worse effects on a transnational level. The European Union has spent millions in
attempts to level out the Greece economy. Despite these efforts, the economy is still failing, which
could ultimately lead to the collapse of the value of the Euro and therefore the entire European
economy. The

In figure 1, the Betacyanin are treated with different levels of sodium chloride. Most of these
graphs with different concentrations seem to have a deceleration curve. The concentrations of 0%,
1%, 5%, and 10% seem to have a deceleration curve and that maybe due because they reached a
point of equilibrium so they start to level off. You can also see that the absorption is proportional to
the concentration, because it increase due to it concentration and that may be due to the ethanolthat
the beetroots where in. Since the beetroots sat in ethanol while the time being it made the
membrane more permeable, allowing the salts to either increase the diffusion of the betacyanins or
decrease it. The concentrations of 2.5% and 7.5% seem to have a direct proportion. This could

1970s Fashion
The 1970s was an eventful decade. Many people fought for equality and peace. 1970s fashion
wasn t just clothing, it was showing their voice through the cultural and political times. The many
styles and looks of them showed people s personality and who they are too. The 70s was diverse in
style, makeup, hair, and changed over the years. In the 1970s fashion was multifarious. The main
styles were hippie, bohemian, sporty chic, disco, and a little bit of punk. Hippie style originated
in the 60s, but the style really blossomed in the 70s. Hippies loved the colorful, simple,
expressive designs (Brewer). Shoes wise hippies mostly liked gladiator sandals and ankle boots
(Karapetyan). Another popular style of the 70s was bohemian. The boho look was relaxed and
carefree. Almost everything that was bohemian was flowy and light weight with rich prints and

Examples Of Desserts
1 INTRODUCTION
Caitlin Hines discusses in her research Rebaking the Pie: The Woman as Dessert Metaphor that
there is a consistent, widespread, generally unconscious and undocumented metaphor in English
equating women as sex objects with desserts (Hines 1999: 145). Women as dessert metaphor
functions both in linguistic expressions, such as tart and cookie, and in customs, for example
women jumping out of cakes (ibid: 145). Hines argues that the woman as dessert metaphor reduces
women to objects, sexualizes and belittles women, making women seem like powerless, inanimate
objects. Moreover, she makes a point that women are not just objects, but sweet, and not just
desserts, but pieces or slices. She uses Sally McConnell Ginet s theory that ... Show more content on

Rihanna states that a man wants to lick the icing off , using cake and eating as metaphors for sex.
Moreover, in the example 4, blowing candles out could be a metaphor for an orgasm.
Unlike Trey Songz and Rihanna s songs, Melanie Martinez s Milk and Cookies does not have any
sexual allusions. However, it still depicts the use of the woman as dessert metaphor:
(5)I m fucking crazy, need my prescription filled Do you like my cookies? They re made just for
you A little bit of sugar, but lots of poison, too (Martinez 2015b)
As Caitlin Hines defines in her research, the woman as dessert metaphor reduces women to sinful
and decadent (1999: 148), which is shown in the example 5. In the example, the female singer is
offering her poisonous cookies to the receiver, making a connection with women and cookies. The
example could be interpreted in an abstract sense. The singer is sweet with a little bit of sugar , but
also sinful: but lots of poison, too .

Why Mascots Should Change Their Name
The Redskins Should Change Their Name When one typically thinks about a Native American,
they picture this ideological representation of a Native American as depicted by popular culture.
Native Americans are underrepresented on television, in books, in news, and all other forms of
media. We, as a society, have chosen a path of ignorance in which we have chosen not to educate
ourselves or our future generations on the true culture of Native Americans. We have ignored the
negative impacts of using mascots such as Redskins and instead let it serve as a stereotype to fill
our heads with unrealistic views and understandings of Native American culture. The resulting
misconceptions leave many Native American students with a feeling of inferiority and questioning
their self worth. The lack of accurate representation of Native Americans in our everyday lives has
left members of society without more than a stereotype to draw from when thinking about
characteristics of Native Americans. Native Americans have relative invisibility in mainstream
media and this lets the few inaccurate portrayals, such as a sports team s mascot, have an
overwhelming amount of power in forming stereotypes (Fryberg, Markus, Oyserman, Stone, 2008,
pg. 208). Many members of society have a very narrow view of what they understand a Native
American to look, dress, and act. These ideas mostly come from what they see in media through the
caricatures used as mascots, childhood cartoons, and similar

Oxford university course on computing for the following, which I reproduce without a full

Einstein, in relation to relativity and in Schrodinger s Cat reference quantum mechanics. Turing
s machine used a continuous tape, which can be as long as required, which carries a series of
cells. This passes under a read/write head that can read and if required change the symbol under
it. The head views one symbol at a time and, can: move, or not move, the tape one cell in either
direction; read and /or change the symbol written on that cell; or change states. The states are a
finite number of conditions, e.g. start, add, carry, return and stop. Different sets of states will be
needed for different problems. Turing was able to show that if we first assume a solution does exist
then we can show that this would lead to a completely impossible situation. Hence a solution does
not exist (proof by contradiction, a standard method in mathematics.). When Turing went to show

Compare Foebel And Montesssoel
Introduction.
My assignment is based on two well known theorists that are known around the world, and are
praised for their work , Maria Montessori and Friedrich Froebel. Both known for their educational
approach to teach children the basics of life in a fun, entertaining manner. The assignment will be
broken down into 3 parts , their philosophy of early childhood care and education , their contribution
to early childhood education in terms of their implementation and approach , and then finally my
own reflections about their work and who fit in better with my own personal attitudes, beliefs and
values.
1. The philosophy of the chosen theorists.
Montessori philosophy is based on the idea that children were distinctly different from adults. ...

Tovey (2017) suggested that Froebel understood that children were powerful learners and were
motivated to discover and be interested about the world and to try and understand it. The same
author wrote that Froebel believed that learning should be significant and related to the children s
own experiences.
Froebel believed that children learn best while using their hands ( Shields,2016)
2.Their contribution to early childhood education in terms of their approach and implementation
Friedrich Froebel invented Kindergarten , meaning garden of children , over 170 years ago . His
play gifts were the original educational and the first tools for child development (Froebel
USA,2012) . His gifts were also called occupations.
Gifts and occupations is the terms used to describe the particular equipment created specifically for
children to manipulate in logical and orderly patterns (Hook,2014)
Elkind (2015) indicates that Froebel s first gift was giving a ball to the infant. The author also
suggests that Froebel argued that children of all ages are attracted to the ball and also argued that
the ball the sphere represents a union both at the concrete and abstract

Washington s War Within A War Essay
Washington s war within a war
While it is true that wars are fought and won with weapons and selfless sacrifice, it is also true
that wars cannot be won on an empty stomach. Hunger can zap a solders moral, confidence, and
he can find himself lacking the energy to even aim his rifle. This is a real threat to any company,
or to any army. One might even say this could be a war within a war for the starving battalion
that faced such adversity. They would be faced with the loss of muscle tissue, the inability to
fight, think, let alone to defend a fort. Moral breaks down, some will desert, or commit mutiny as
they lose faith in their commanding officers. During war, food can be taken for granted, more
faith is put on the weapon you carry, the men you serve with. However, little thought is given to
how truly important food and clean water can be until you have none. When it is gone, it s all you
can think of, thoughts drift to warm meals, clean clothes, clear cool water. Then one s soul sinks
into depression, the feeling of defeat, the temptation to give up and surrender just for a taste of
some food. This is just the war that General George Washingtonand the continual army faced in
the winter of 1777 1778 at Valley Forge.
General Washington was face with the loss of his Army, through extremely low moral brought on
by lack of food, and other necessary supplies. The reason for such a hardship during the war was a
faulty supply line. On the 23rd of December 1777, Washington wrote

President Obama Delivered A Speech
On June 21st, 2010, Father s Day, President Barack Obama delivered a speech in Washington
D.C. addressing a crowd of his cabinet members, veterans, senators, and normal fathers. He aimed
to give a speech about promoting responsible fatherhood, but his speech went beyond that. He
addressed the crowd with a calm demeanor and a strong voice, and gave a speech on the
importance of being a present father and the many lasting negative effects that having an absent
father can have on a child. His heavy use of pathos, the appeal to emotion, gave the speech depth,
and a reason for the crowd to want to listen.
The main point of President Obama s Speech was that there are few things that a child benefits
more from than having both their parents, and especially their fathers present in their lives growing
up. There were five main points about his speech. One of the first points he mentions was the
Father Mentoring initiative. It is a government program that was created to help raise awareness
about responsible fatherhood. The program works to re engage absent fathers or fathers that are
not sure how to reintegrate themselves into their children s lives after they ve been absent for a
long period of time. President Obama explains that it is a scary choice to make but it is better for
the children in the long run.
The next main point of his speech is also a government initiative. The Fathering Re Entry Court is
a program designed to create job initiatives for ex offenders. It helps

Using Quality Function Deployment in Software Requirements...
USING QUALITY FUNCTION DEPLOYMENT IN SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
SPECIFICATION Abstract. We present in this paper an approach to requirements specification
based on quality function deployment (QFD). We discuss how techniques like QFD with
accompanying tool support can contribute to the development of high quality requirements models
that are the basis for information systems that are perceived as valuable by the stakeholders of the
systems. Based on the practical application of this technique on a number of information systems
projects, including both traditional development projects and the implementation of packaged
solutions, it is our experience that the quality of requirements specifications can be improved by
using this technique,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different toolВ–support is available, going from simple spreadsheets to more advanced
groupware tools which enable a larger proportion of the stakeholders to participate actively in the
process. In the next section, we give an overview of the SQFD technique. Then we evaluated the
technique based on experiences using it in different kinds of projects. We have evaluated the
approach on to what extent it can help in the process of creating requirements models of high
quality. We conclude the paper pointing to future work as we get further practical experience with
the use of the technique and tools. 2 Overview of SQFD QFD was first introduced in Japan by
Akao in 1966. Since 1984 a number of companies have used QFD with cross functional teams and
concurrent engineering to improve their products, and product or service development process [24],
including the development of software [8]. Yearly, several major international conferences are held
on the subject, see e.g. [4] for a current overview of the breath of problem areas attacked with QFD.
SQFD [19] focuses on improving the software development process by implementing quality
improvement techniques during requirements specification. In order to satisfy the stakeholders
under the constraints faced by a project, it is necessary to concentrate the best efforts on those
things of greatest importance. To do this requires that the project team during requirements
specification obtains the

Public Parks And National Parks
Protected public lands, including national parks, cover a growing 12% of the world s land and a
gradually rising amount of marine areas (Dudley, et al. 87). Today, in the United States (U.S.)
alone, 59 national parks compromise the country s National Parks System, which was sanctioned
by Congress and is managed by National Parks Service (NPS), an agency of the U.S. Department
of the Interior. The parks have become a controversial topic in recent legislation because some
representatives are lobbying for change in ownership and management of the parks to create more
economic return. Although the parks confer multiple benefits and costs on the U.S, perhaps the
most contentious area of debate concerns the cost benefit dichotomy of the parks collective
economic value.
While some experts argue that the taxes required to maintain national parks are burdensome, or that
management is often ineffective in preserving the parks economic benefit, others believe that their
overall benefit to local communities and the national economy is noteworthy. These debates are
often divided along party lines, with conservatives denouncing the parks costs, especially in
restricting individual economic prospects, and liberals urging the federal preservation of the land
for its values. Furthermore, solutions to achieve effective governance of public lands, or commons,
such as those proposed in the stimulus source The Struggle to Govern the Commons, can be
implemented in order to preclude the

Case Study On Early Childhood Development
Introduction
According to Merriam Webster dictionary (1828), observation is an act of recognizing and noting
a fact or occurrence. Observation in Early Childhood is important so teachers are able to meet
developmental needs of young children through evaluation and assessment. The purpose of this
case study is to observe the characteristics and behaviors of a child s stages of development in an
early childhood class; the child s dominant stages of play would also be highlighted based on
Parten s stages of play. Activities and strategies would also be recommended to improve areas in
which the child can be assisted. These areas would be the cognitive, affective and psychomotor
domains. Demographics

The first behavior that would be discussed is that of the cognitive domain. This cognitive area
consists of brain development of the child, whether the child has healthy experiences
appropriate for learning. Tyler is being exposed to a stimulating environment in the classroom
that exposes him to discover and play. He has exhibited learning, thinking and problem solving
skills according to Piaget s preoperational stage of development in cognitive development of
young children. In this preoperational stage that ranges between children two (2) to six (6)
years old, Tyler has acquired language, he is able to listen, speak and respond. He exhibits
symbolical play where he is able to pretend real objects are imaginary items. Based on the results
in the checklist, (see in appendices) Tyler was able on numerous occasions during math classes to
identify objects by their shapes, color and size. He is able to count, touch and name body parts and
can recall the events of the day and ask questions for clarification and

Chapter 1: The Power of Markets
What are the two basic assumptions that economists make about individuals and firms?
Economists have two basic assumptions which keeps the economy in check. One is that people try
to make themselves as versatile as possible maximizing their overall potential. The other is that a
firm would do what it needs to make the most profit possible.
What is the role and significance of prices in the market economy? Prices in a market economy

Chapter 4: Government and the Economy II
What are the main reasons why government should take only a limited role in a market economy?
There are many reasons why government should have a light touch in market economies. Some
government programs may be to costly and in the end backfire if not planned through thoroughly
or may of even been thought up by corrupt politicians. The government also makes the struggle as
a poor family harder to bare as taxes are more often then not, in the government, in favor of keeping
the money where it is.
Chapter 5: Economics of Information
Basic economic models assume that all parties have perfect information. How does informational
asymmetry undermine our market economy?
Information asymmetry is great for some and awful for others. It also leads to rational and
irrational discrimination. For example, it could lead to hiring a male over female, a Caucasian over
African American, and other discriminatory decisions, in these cases are understandable.(Women
have maternity leave; African Americans are 28% more likely to of gone to jail.)
Chapter 6: Productivity and Human Capital
After reading Whelan s argument, do you agree that Bill Gates should be so much richer than you?
Why?

President Hoover And Franklin D. Roosevelt
During the 1920s, in the U.S. economy, stock prices were rapidly rising. Many people saw this as
an opportunity to invest their money into the market, and multiply their cash. Despite warnings of a
crash in the market, people kept on using their money even taking out loans to invest into the
rapidly increasing market. Nevertheless, on October 29, 1929 the stock exchange crashed, and
caused panic throughout the nation. This began an economic downturn that placed pressure on the
President of the United Statesto fix the situation. Although both Herbert Hooverand Franklin D.
Rooseveltwere President during one of the hardest economic times in the nation s history, there
are many differences in the approach each President took to attempt to fix The Great Depression,
which caused different changes in the economy. During Herbert Hoover s time in the White
House, is when disaster struck. Many people, at the time, believed that President Hoover was the
ideal person to have in office due to his background, and knowledge of economics. President
Hoover s understanding of economics is what initially allowed him to predict that a crash in the
nation s market was inevitable; yet, did not take any actions about it because he worried that when
the market went down, he would receive the blame. Nevertheless, when the market bust occurred,
President Hoover did take many incentives to attempt to fix the economy. Primarily President
Hoover called on people to engage in voluntary

  • 2. Hip-Hop Playas Glocalizing Keepin it Real: South Korean Hip Hop Playas by Jamie Shinhee Lee discussed the globalization of hip hop and what is considered as real hip hop in South Korea. Lee explained about how hip hop had spread throughout many countries in the world, and its impact can be seen particularly in his example of S. Korean hip hop. Four hip hop groups: Epik High, Dynamic Duo, Drunken Tiger, and Soul Company are used in support of his argument of glocalization in South Korea. Playa like Tiger JK was raised in Los Angeles, and thus experienced localized hip hip in America, but also in S. Korea. • 3. Kiss Research Paper I chose to do my review on the most entertaining band to ever perform on stage. Even today it still shocks me every time I watch one of their old performances on YouTube. This band is Kiss no one can entertain the way Kiss did in the 70 s. As a band they brought a great amount of energy and excitement to the crowd. I chose to review them to learn more about their history and style that they used. Kiss is a hard rock band that formed in 1973 by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. The band started in New York City, New York. They started the band because the two were both working dead end jobs and wanted to change up their life. Glam band started original in England before spreading to the United States. These English bands that introduced this glam style were performers such as, David Bowe, T Rex, and Roxy Music. Some of them most important U.S. band that first picked up this style were the New York Dolls and Alice Cooper. These two bands many claim to be the two biggest influence on Kiss and broke way for this wild and outrageous theater style rock. Although none of these other artist were the same as Kiss it is likely that the band would not have been able to push the envelope as far if they didn t have other band open up the world to outrageous stage proformaces. The New York Doll were one of the first band to experiment with men in make up and long hair and many people today probably wouldn t know who they are, but if you ask them about Kiss they are sure to know them. • 6. Compare And Contrast Brave New World And Invisible Man Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and Invisible Man by H.G. Wells both have characters with complex minds. The authors were alive at the same time, and certain events affected both authors. Wells published Invisible Man in 1897, but Huxley published Brave New World in 1931. Since each author published when they were in their thirties and likely had a similar mindset at the time of writing, their characters have an interesting link between them. Brave New Worldis about life changing to fit liberal ideas. Invisible Man is the story of a power hungry guy. Between them, they have characters with similar roles. Huxley made a character Bernard as a runt who is unsatisfied with life and wants to be accepted. Wells made a character Marvel as a runt who is satisfied with life and got bullied into service by the invisible man. Bernard may have been made to show where Huxley thought he fit in his modern world, unsatisfied with the government and wanting to change it. Wells may have made Marvel to represent his feelings of being forced to do something he didn t think was morally correct. Characters Helmholtz and John savage of BNW are both similar to Dr. Kemp of IM. All three characters are cast as the good guys, trying to do the correct thing by modern standards. John and Kemp are both outcasts among the people they live with, while Helmholtz and Kemp are both shown as being more intelligent than the people they live around. My Mother Has A Unique Sense Of Humor As the years go by, I gain a better understanding of my mother, and although she has shared her story to me over those years, I still have not heard it all. She was born Adriana Manzano De La Cruz in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on September 8th, 1972, and despite the challenges she faced as a child, she has grown into the amazing person I call mom. Her infectious laugh and sarcastic tendencies have made life all the more livable for me and have shown me that life is meant to be spent in joy and happiness. She shows her humility through her dire need for saving money, not to fund our need for expensive luxuries but our constant need for food, clothing, shelter, and education. The strength she finds in God is absolutely astonishing, and it has gotten her through inconceivable hardships. I admire my mother as the woman of good humor, humility, and strong faith in the Lord that she is. My mother has a unique sense of humor. Most every time she speaks, her words are dripping with sarcasm, and often times, what comes natural to her, is to respond to what she feels is ignorance with a sarcastic remark. When the question, Mom, where do I put the trash? is asked, she, without fail, retorts with, on your head. It has always been her mind set that if you ask a stupid question, you ll get a stupid answer. At times, she does not even reply with words but only with a face that reads really? Pros And Cons Of Naplan HSC Minimum Standards: Missing the Real Concern NAPLAN, the assessment program launched almost 9 years ago and already a subject of criticism and controversy, is becoming increasing intertwined with education in NSW. The NSW Education Standards Authority has attempted to address what they call falling standards in the NSW education system, implementing harsher standards that mean preventing students failing to receive a Band 8 from receiving a HSC. These minimum standards , backed by former minister for education Adrian Piccoli, have already garnered considerable attention and criticism. Already many parents believe that their children will no longer be able to obtain a HSC, and they will do anything to try and push up their child s result adding to the environment of already competitive pressure which we see in schools throughout NSW, and further fuelled by so called NAPLAN practice books and aggressive private tutoring. For instance if 100 units are produced and total cost incurred is 200 then average cost of one unit would be 2/unit. Whereas Average revenue is calculated same as average cost however, instead of total cost we take total revenue. Marginal cost is cost of producing one additional unit of output or in other words a rise in total cost when output rises by one unit. Similarly marginal revenue is the rise in total revenue when output rises by one unit. For instance, if total revenue generated by 100 units is 200 and for 101 units it is 201, then marginal revenue would be 201 200=1. It can also be seen that when the marginal cost is lower than the marginal revenue, profit is increased. When marginal cost is equal to the marginal revenue profit is maximized. After this point, when marginal cost is above the marginal revenue, profit starts to fall. Therefore, profit is maximized when MR=MC. In the above graph Y axis consists of amount whereas X axis represents level of output. It can be seen clearly that at output level of 8, MC=MR (two lines cross over here) which is the output where profit is maximized. Similarly as we extended the connector line above to get the price (average revenue) this is 23.5 as in the table above. Profit: When MC=MR, profit is 84 which is the highest possible amount in current circumstances. Possible Market Structure: It is clear from the above data that the firm is certainly not working under perfectly competitive market. In perfect competition, firm cannot afford to sell at lower price. If elasticity is calculated at different points, it can be seen that elasticity is decreasing from top to bottom but still the demand is very elastic. For instance at 9 units elasticity is 5 (in absolute terms) which is still much greater than 1 which means that it can be monopolistic competition or oligopolistic environment. • 11. Speech On Discipline Discipline is a highly sought after quality in work, school, sports, and in almost everything. Without discipline, there can be no success or spiritual growth. With discipline comes success; discipline also means doing things most people do not want to do. Luther talks about the importance discipline in his writings. He says in freedom of a Christian, Here then the works begin; here he must not take his ease; here he must give heed to exercise his body by fastings, watchings, labour, and other regular discipline, so that it may be subdued to the spirt, and obey and conform itself to the inner man and faith and not rebel against nor hinder them, as is its nature to do if it is not kept under (Luther). He is saying discipline is really important to controlling the body and not the other way around. Have discipline in the daily tasks or smaller tasks, and there will be discipline in the more important tasks or bigger tasks. What is the definition of Discipline, one might ask? Merriam Webster defines discipline as, training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character (Discipline). Discipline is so important to life, without it nothing would get done. One thing is for sure, not everyone is born with natural talent; everyone has the ability to be disciplined and work hard in their everyday tasks. The Apostle Paul says No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is due to the LPE arguing with an inaccurate definition for the word good . With the correct definition of good, I will show that an all good and all powerful God can logically exist simultaneously with evil. A response for my objection could be the Furthermore, if we allow the inadequate use of the word evil , the LPE still does not constitute the immediate rejection of the existence of God due to the concept of free will. A response to this objection is that individual humans are not free and are therefore not morally responsible for their actions. However, I will show that this response fails to disprove the existence of God. Logical Problem of Evil In the article Evil and Omnipotence , J. L. Mackie argues his version of the LPE. He defines evil to be concepts that good can abolish or get rid of. For the sake of this paper I define Mackie s concept of evil as pain and suffering. In Evil and Omnipotence Good is defined to be the taking away of pain and suffering. This definition of good and evil allows this argument to become valid : 1.God is all powerful and all good 2.Evil exists _ 3.God Doesn t exist The above argument is valid due to the logic that an all powerful and all good God would be able to and should eliminate all the evil in the world. The origin of this theory can be traced back to the humanistic existential theory of human beings. Binswanger was a psychiatrist who had strong misgivings regarding Freud s theories of human beings. Today, the population wander around the world seeing these wonderful churches and religious buildings all around us. The architectural style of the Middle Ages was very prominent: high stone vaults, internal elevations of multiple stories, rounded arches, and thick walls. This was characterized as Romanesque architecture. Suger revolutionized everything. He reworked these ideas and introduced, to the world, what is now known as the Gothic architectural style. He began to rebuilt the church in 1137. One of the reasons behind this construction was that he was not contended with the dark and sinister style of Romanesque architecture. He wanted the church to be an expression of modernity and enlightenment. (Verdon and Dally 190 191). Suger considered it as modern because it was not heavy looking and inspiring. His critics, including Bernard of Clairvaux, called it Gothic because it was unrefined, barbaric and non Roman (Bradbury 295). These criticisms were all wrong because it was completely renewed and this symbolized the top achievement of the medieval civilization. However, they were right that it was completely not Roman. • 20. Kentucky s Role During The Civil War Kentucky s Role during the Civil War The world has faced the dangers of war almost since the beginnings of time, and America in the mid 1800 s was no different. Despite the Union having won its freedom from England during the Revolutionary War less than a century before, problems were brewing internally within the young and rapidly expanding country. As slavery boomed in the southern states, the North grew less and less content with this state of affairs. It is said that to southern whites, the Republican victory in 1860 presented an immediate danger to the slave owning republic that had existed since 1776 (Henretta, 2012, p. 418). Southerners were not ready to lose one of their most valuable commodities, slaves, which they feared would happen under the leadership of Abraham Lincoln, although he promised to safeguard slavery where it existed but vowed to prevent its expansion (Henretta, 2012, p. 420). Unheeding of Lincoln s vows, and hoping to preserve the individual state s rights, radical southerners chose the dangerous enterprise of secession (Henretta, 2012, p. 418). This secession began first in the state of South Carolina, when on December 20, 1860 a unanimous vote was taken to dissolve the union now subsisting between South Carolina and the other states (Henretta, 2012, p.418). This idea of secession spread quickly to the surrounding southern states, resulting in five other states declaring secession within the month. At a meeting of the seceding ... Shi June 16, 2008 Abstract: As a result of technological advancements, modern businesses seek new and improved methods of conducting their business processes. Systems have been designed to augment and manage core business functions such as production, accounting, procurement, and human resources. However, even with these systems in place, information is unreliable and inconsistent if they are on disparate platforms. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software tackles this problem by integrating business processes into a centralized system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of the information that was used to compose this paper was taken from prior ERP articles, online reference tools, and ERP books. What is an ERP System? An ERP system integrates an organization s data and services in a single system. ERP systems combine computer hardware and software during the process of integration. One thing most ERP systems have in common is the use of a single database that is used to store information for different system components. To obtain an ERP status, a given software package must successfully function as at least two systems. For example, a software package can hypothetically be considered an ERP system if it can execute human resources and financial functions. Even though this will accomplish the function of an ERP system, ERP applications typically support much larger business platforms (Wikipedia, 2007). ERP, in its entirety, provides a single database that stores all the data for its individual modules. Some of the modules an ERP system supports include, but is not limited to: Manufacturing Supply Chain Management Financials Projects Human Resources Customer Relationship Management Data Warehouse Table 1.1 summarizes the various modules that an ERP application supports and the business

Or maybe felt intense anxiety over everyday tasks, such as sending a letter and believing you may have misspelled a word. You may feel that this is just a personal issue, but in reality, many people all over the world share the same thoughts and feelings. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, or more commonly called OCD, as defined by (Obsessive, 2010), is a type of mental illness that causes repeated unwanted thoughts. This common disorder can be found in nearly every region and culture around the world, so even though one dealing with it may feel alone, the person sitting right beside them could easily be suffering from something similar. According to (How Many People, 2012), their best estimates found that one within every one hundred adults, or nearly two to three million adults just within the United States suffer from some type of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Also, they found that at least one within every two hundred children and teenagers, or five hundred thousand in the United States only, also deal with this disorder. That number parallels with the amount of children in the United States who have diabetes. To show the commonality of OCD in our society, it s important to know specific cases of well known people; especially for those who do feel alone in their feelings. (2000) draws upon existing research into the appointment of Supreme Court justices by seeking to empirically prove Robert Dahl s 1957 theory that a justice s voting typically reflects the policy preferences of the president who appointed them, thereby allowing presidents to achieve their policy goals even after leaving office (pp. 557 558). The authors clarify this by stating that in the event of a clear correlation, concordance should not be considered synonymous with responsiveness. Put simply, the research is not proposing that Supreme Court justices are directly influenced by the decisions of the president who appoints them, but merely that the president and appointee share the same political... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Hulbary and Walker note in The Supreme Court Selection Process (1980), presidents may consider a range of factors when selecting their desired justice, such as age, race, religion and the likelihood of the nomination gaining the Senate s approval. Thus, it would be reductive to conclude from Segal, Timpone and Howard s research that shared policy preferences are the primary goal of a nominating president in all cases. The authors rightfully acknowledge this by highlighting Dwight Eisenhower s nomination of William J. Brennan, a justice far more liberal than his appointer who is widely believed to have been chosen as a concession to northern liberals before the 1956 election (pp. 569 570). A more recent example of this trend would be the 2016 nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court by Barack Obama. While it is unlikely that the centrist Garland would have been Obama s first choice to fill the vacant seat left by Antonin Scalia, he may now represent the least worst scenario, insofar as he stands a small chance of being approved by an obstructionist Republican Senate. If this occurs, it would surely be treated as a victory by the current White House administration. As such, it is important not to automatically conflate ideological differences between president and justice with a failed appointment, a trap that the article occasionally falls into (p. ... Essay On Primordial Gravitational Waves Primordial gravitational waves (GWs) are a theoretical stochastic background of gravitational radiation from the early universe which may be detected from their polarising effect on the cosmic microwave background (CMB) or by future generations of interferometers such as eLISA [1]. Able to propagate through the opaque primordial universe, they could allow us to determine the initial state of the universe as well as gaining a valuable insight into physical processes that occurred at this time. There are several theoretical processes in the early universe which could contribute to this background of GWs including cosmic strings, first order phase transitions and inflation [2][3]. Cosmic strings are hypothetical one dimensional... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... GWs from cosmic inflation may be detected indirectly from their imprint on the CMB, as they produce a pattern of curled B mode polarisation. This polarisation is generated by Thompson scattering between photons and electrons. The magnitude of B modes can tell us about the speed of cosmic inflation and therefore eliminate different theoretical models and bring us closer to understanding the beginning of the universe [1][8][9]. However gravitational lensing can also produce B modes and so must be accounted for to avoid false detection [10]. The BICEP2 experiment announced detection of primordial GWs in 2014, however their results were discredited as they could be attributed to cosmic dust [11]. Primordial gravitational waves have the potential to unlock vast knowledge of the processes that took place in the earliest moments of our universe and encourage a leap forward in our understanding of the theories which underpin all of physics including general relativity and high energy physics. The next generation of space based interferometers should be capable of making these detections, revolutionising our understanding of the primordial universe and taking yet another step toward solving the largest problems in modern physics. An unemployed person is defined as an individual who does not have a job but is actively seeking work. Across the globe, high rates of youth unemployment put the future of the global economy at risk. Young people make up 17% of the global population but also make up 40% of the unemployed. The Middle East and North Africa have the highest youth unemployment rates, where one in four young people are unemployed, which drives social unrest. The reason that this issue is so important to the global stage is because of the effects that social unrest; riots and protests have on individual states. In their most extreme form, these protests can lead to revolutions that can topple entire governments and send nations into chaos. In 2011, unemployment and unrest in the Middle East and North Africa Youth gave way to the Arab Spring, which was months of rioting and protests to remove the governments of several countries, most notably in Egypt and Libya. Unemployment is even higher in some parts of Europe, as more than 50% of young people in Greece and Spain are out of work. The failure of the Greek economy will have even worse effects on a transnational level. The European Union has spent millions in attempts to level out the Greece economy. Examples Of Desserts 1 INTRODUCTION Caitlin Hines discusses in her research Rebaking the Pie: The Woman as Dessert Metaphor that there is a consistent, widespread, generally unconscious and undocumented metaphor in English equating women as sex objects with desserts (Hines 1999: 145). Women as dessert metaphor functions both in linguistic expressions, such as tart and cookie, and in customs, for example women jumping out of cakes (ibid: 145). Hines argues that the woman as dessert metaphor reduces women to objects, sexualizes and belittles women, making women seem like powerless, inanimate objects. Moreover, she makes a point that women are not just objects, but sweet, and not just desserts, but pieces or slices. She uses Sally McConnell Ginet s theory that ... Why Mascots Should Change Their Name The Redskins Should Change Their Name When one typically thinks about a Native American, they picture this ideological representation of a Native American as depicted by popular culture. Native Americans are underrepresented on television, in books, in news, and all other forms of media. We, as a society, have chosen a path of ignorance in which we have chosen not to educate ourselves or our future generations on the true culture of Native Americans. We have ignored the negative impacts of using mascots such as Redskins and instead let it serve as a stereotype to fill our heads with unrealistic views and understandings of Native American culture. The resulting misconceptions leave many Native American students with a feeling of inferiority and questioning their self worth. The lack of accurate representation of Native Americans in our everyday lives has left members of society without more than a stereotype to draw from when thinking about characteristics of Native Americans. Native Americans have relative invisibility in mainstream media and this lets the few inaccurate portrayals, such as a sports team s mascot, have an overwhelming amount of power in forming stereotypes (Fryberg, Markus, Oyserman, Stone, 2008, pg. 208). The Crucible Compare And Contrast Truman And Oedipus Was nothing real? the question Truma asked after he came to the realization that he was living in a made up world that revolved around him. This moment was similar to the moment when Oedipus became aware that the prophecy had come true, that he killed his father and married his mother. Both Truman and Oedipuswent through their lives believing one thing about the world, that they later realized was completely false. Oedipus and Truman go through a similar journey leading up to the revealing of the truth. At first, they both receive hints that lead them to believe things other than the original truths. For Truman, he started noticing that his world was similar to a set and that people knew who he was. For Oedipus, he thought about how Laius ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Turing solved it, but in the process established a system that is still useable today. Am indebted to Oxford university course on computing for the following, which I reproduce without a full understanding. Turing s (successful) approach to the decidability problem involved the design and use of an imaginary machine. This is the same technique...gedanken...that was used by Albert Einstein, in relation to relativity and in Schrodinger s Cat reference quantum mechanics. Turing s machine used a continuous tape, which can be as long as required, which carries a series of cells. This passes under a read/write head that can read and if required change the symbol under it. The head views one symbol at a time and, can: move, or not move, the tape one cell in either direction; read and /or change the symbol written on that cell; or change states. The states are a finite number of conditions, e.g. start, add, carry, return and stop. Different sets of states will be needed for different problems. Turing was able to show that if we first assume a solution does exist then we can show that this would lead to a completely impossible situation. Hence a solution does not exist (proof by contradiction, a standard method in mathematics.). When Turing went to show his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My assignment is based on two well known theorists that are known around the world, and are praised for their work , Maria Montessori and Friedrich Froebel. Both known for their educational approach to teach children the basics of life in a fun, entertaining manner. The assignment will be broken down into 3 parts , their philosophy of early childhood care and education , their contribution to early childhood education in terms of their implementation and approach , and then finally my own reflections about their work and who fit in better with my own personal attitudes, beliefs and values. 1. The philosophy of the chosen theorists. Montessori philosophy is based on the idea that children were distinctly different from adults. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Froebel believed that children learn best while using their hands ( Shields,2016) 2.Their contribution to early childhood education in terms of their approach and implementation Friedrich Froebel invented Kindergarten , meaning garden of children , over 170 years ago . His play gifts were the original educational and the first tools for child development (Froebel USA,2012) . His gifts were also called occupations. • 45. Washington s War Within A War Essay Washington s war within a war While it is true that wars are fought and won with weapons and selfless sacrifice, it is also true that wars cannot be won on an empty stomach. Hunger can zap a solders moral, confidence, and he can find himself lacking the energy to even aim his rifle. This is a real threat to any company, or to any army. One might even say this could be a war within a war for the starving battalion that faced such adversity. They would be faced with the loss of muscle tissue, the inability to fight, think, let alone to defend a fort. Moral breaks down, some will desert, or commit mutiny as they lose faith in their commanding officers. During war, food can be taken for granted, more faith is put on the weapon you carry, the men you serve with. However, little thought is given to how truly important food and clean water can be until you have none. When it is gone, it s all you can think of, thoughts drift to warm meals, clean clothes, clear cool water. Then one s soul sinks into depression, the feeling of defeat, the temptation to give up and surrender just for a taste of some food. This is just the war that General George Washingtonand the continual army faced in the winter of 1777 1778 at Valley Forge. General Washington was face with the loss of his Army, through extremely low moral brought on by lack of food, and other necessary supplies. The reason for such a hardship during the war was a faulty supply line. On the 23rd of December 1777, Washington wrote ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. President Obama Delivered A Speech On June 21st, 2010, Father s Day, President Barack Obama delivered a speech in Washington D.C. addressing a crowd of his cabinet members, veterans, senators, and normal fathers. He aimed to give a speech about promoting responsible fatherhood, but his speech went beyond that. He addressed the crowd with a calm demeanor and a strong voice, and gave a speech on the importance of being a present father and the many lasting negative effects that having an absent father can have on a child. His heavy use of pathos, the appeal to emotion, gave the speech depth, and a reason for the crowd to want to listen. The main point of President Obama s Speech was that there are few things that a child benefits more from than having both their parents, and especially their fathers present in their lives growing up. There were five main points about his speech. One of the first points he mentions was the Father Mentoring initiative. It is a government program that was created to help raise awareness about responsible fatherhood. The program works to re engage absent fathers or fathers that are not sure how to reintegrate themselves into their children s lives after they ve been absent for a long period of time. President Obama explains that it is a scary choice to make but it is better for the children in the long run. The next main point of his speech is also a government initiative. • 47. Using Quality Function Deployment in Software Requirements... USING QUALITY FUNCTION DEPLOYMENT IN SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATION Abstract. We present in this paper an approach to requirements specification based on quality function deployment (QFD). We discuss how techniques like QFD with accompanying tool support can contribute to the development of high quality requirements models that are the basis for information systems that are perceived as valuable by the stakeholders of the systems. Based on the practical application of this technique on a number of information systems projects, including both traditional development projects and the implementation of packaged solutions, it is our experience that the quality of requirements specifications can be improved by using this technique,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Different toolВ–support is available, going from simple spreadsheets to more advanced groupware tools which enable a larger proportion of the stakeholders to participate actively in the process. In the next section, we give an overview of the SQFD technique. Then we evaluated the technique based on experiences using it in different kinds of projects. We have evaluated the approach on to what extent it can help in the process of creating requirements models of high quality. We conclude the paper pointing to future work as we get further practical experience with the use of the technique and tools. 2 Overview of SQFD QFD was first introduced in Japan by Akao in 1966. Since 1984 a number of companies have used QFD with cross functional teams and concurrent engineering to improve their products, and product or service development process [24], including the development of software [8]. Yearly, several major international conferences are held on the subject, see e.g. [4] for a current overview of the breath of problem areas attacked with QFD. SQFD [19] focuses on improving the software development process by implementing quality improvement techniques during requirements specification. In order to satisfy the stakeholders under the constraints faced by a project, it is necessary to concentrate the best efforts on those things of greatest importance. To do this requires that the project team during requirements specification obtains the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. Public Parks And National Parks Protected public lands, including national parks, cover a growing 12% of the world s land and a gradually rising amount of marine areas (Dudley, et al. 87). Today, in the United States (U.S.) alone, 59 national parks compromise the country s National Parks System, which was sanctioned by Congress and is managed by National Parks Service (NPS), an agency of the U.S. Department of the Interior. The parks have become a controversial topic in recent legislation because some representatives are lobbying for change in ownership and management of the parks to create more economic return. Although the parks confer multiple benefits and costs on the U.S, perhaps the most contentious area of debate concerns the cost benefit dichotomy of the parks collective economic value. While some experts argue that the taxes required to maintain national parks are burdensome, or that management is often ineffective in preserving the parks economic benefit, others believe that their overall benefit to local communities and the national economy is noteworthy. These debates are often divided along party lines, with conservatives denouncing the parks costs, especially in restricting individual economic prospects, and liberals urging the federal preservation of the land for its values. Furthermore, solutions to achieve effective governance of public lands, or commons, such as those proposed in the stimulus source The Struggle to Govern the Commons, can be implemented in order to preclude the ... The government also makes the struggle as a poor family harder to bare as taxes are more often then not, in the government, in favor of keeping the money where it is. Many people saw this as an opportunity to invest their money into the market, and multiply their cash. Despite warnings of a crash in the market, people kept on using their money even taking out loans to invest into the rapidly increasing market. Nevertheless, on October 29, 1929 the stock exchange crashed, and caused panic throughout the nation. During Herbert Hoover s time in the White House, is when disaster struck. Many people, at the time, believed that President Hoover was the ideal person to have in office due to his background, and knowledge of economics. President Hoover s understanding of economics is what initially allowed him to predict that a crash in the nation s market was inevitable; yet, did not take any actions about it because he worried that when the market went down, he would receive the blame.
