Protest Methods Of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a human rights activist who fought for the independence of India
from British Rule. His revolutionary protest methods inspired the likes of Martin Luther King Jr. and
others. However, many despised Gandhi s methods. One night, Gandhi, after shaming the city of
Delhi, was heading to a prayer meeting and it was there that Nathuram Godse fired three point blank
shots at Gandhi, killing him on the spot. Gandhi s assassination was justified because he employed
controversial protest methods, he defied British Rule, and he combined conflicting religions which
caused confusion in his community. Many may say that Gandhi did many great things, but those
positives are outweighed by the negatives.
To begin with, Gandhi continuously employed controversial and illegal methods to protest the
injustices that his people faced. For example, Gandhi led a satyagraha due to the prohibition of salt
exportation to India from countries other than Britain. According to This Day in History, Gandhi set
out from Sabarmati with 78 followers on a 241 mile march to the coastal town of Dandi on the
Arabian Sea. There, Gandhi and his supporters were to defy British policy by making salt from
seawater (paragraph 3). This action was literally illegal. Similarly in 1920, America banned the
production and distribution of alcohol. However, many individuals decided to make and distribute
alcohol or have it imported. They were called bootleggers. Gandhi s actions were comparable

External Influences In Lord Of The Flies
External Influences and Their Effects on Children Fragile. Naive. Innocent. These are all
characteristics of children. Adolescence is a time to develop character, and learn valuable life lessons.
However, when children do not have guidance from adults, these lessons are not learned. Lord of the
Flies, by William Golding focuses on children, and the effects isolation has on them. In the novel, a
group of schoolboys are stranded on a desert island after a plane crash. Shortly after, they elect a
leader and attempt to survive. The boys are faced with many challenges, both internal and external.
These hardships and the lack of structure caused the boys to revert to savage behavior. At first, being
on the island seems like all fun and games, however, the boys come to realize the only beast was
inside themselves. Golding s depiction of childhood being a time of tribulation and terror proves to
readers that without society to set rules in place, people will eventually regress and act savagely,
because of lack of regulation, the pressure to conform, and the selection of Jack as the new leader.
Children are fragile. Even though children start off innocent, the lack of regulation can shatter that. In
Lord of the Flies, the absence of rules and guidance dissolved the boys innocence and started their
regression to savagery. The first incident where the boys face a lack of regulation is when the
protagonist, Ralph, stands on the terrace and removes his clothes shortly after the crash.

The Music Of Rock Roll
Introduction
I love Rock Roll. So, put another dime in the jukebox baby. (Joan Jett). Still like that old time Rock
Roll. That kind of music just soothes the soul, I reminisce about the days of old, with that old time
Rock Roll. (Bob Segar). You show us everything you ve got. You keep on dancin and the room gets
hot. You drive us wild, we ll drive you crazy. (KISS).
Music is the art of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form,
harmony and expression of emotion and it has always been an integral part of American culture.
People of any race, age or social class can enjoy music as a popular form of entertainment. There are
many different kinds of music, but Rock Roll is one of the biggest and most popular. Rock Roll began
as a mixture of blues and country music and has been ever evolving while spawning numerous
additional genres that share its roots. Many of today s megahit artists have credited their style and
success to the trailblazers of the early commercial music scene. From dive bars to huge arenas, most
artists are out to accomplish the same thing: to tell a story.
During the 1950 s, the relationship between whites and blacks was weak, but the music was going
strong. There was diversity in music with performers singing blues, country, and classical music,
however, the majority of the performers were black. With the existence of dramatic racial barriers,
audiences were segregated and small. Many white owned

According to Khadiagala and Lyons (2001:83) some of the objectives which guide the operations of
SADC are mentioned as follows: to promote regional peace and security; to stimulate development
and economic progression, through regional incorporation; to reinforce relations among the populaces
of the region; and to develop common political beliefs and organisations. In addition, the current
SADC is an important organisation which is considered to bring about the co ordination and validation
of policies and strategies for sustainable development in all areas, as well as the effective
implementation of the SADC Trade Protocol (Halisi, 1999:54). It also characterised a desire to
achieve a deeper and a broader form of economic integration among member states (Nathan,

He Named Me Malala Analysis
With rising tension in the Middle East, there is a surge in Western Ideology coming to the East and
vice versa. When reading West of Kabul, East of New York an Afghan American Story by Tamim
Ansary, and watching He Named Me Malala the documentary of Malala Yousafzai, it became evident
how people who were raised in the East are trying to cope with the fact that they re becoming
essentially Americanized, but also trying to hold on to their roots. With both cases, it is clear that
within the Middle East the people in question act differently than how they would in America. In the
end, these characters achieve a balance of Western and Eastern ideologies through retaining the
cultures that they came from. Tamim Ansary has an upper hand in balancing ... Show more content on

1950 s Culture Exposed in The Catcher in the Rye Essay
1950 s Culture Exposed in The Catcher in the Rye
J.D. Salinger s The Catcher in the Rye is a remarkable book that gives readers a unique and perhaps
gloomy perspective of the 1950 s through Holden Caulfield, a cynical and peculiar teenager. Through
The Catcher in the Rye Salinger describes important aspects of the 1950 s. Salinger emphasizes
several key characteristics of the 50 s and criticizes them through Holden. In addition, Holden
Caulfield is a very interesting character with several traits that put him at odds with society.
Holden attacks various weaknesses in the 50 s society. He criticizes nearly everything that he
observes, and refuses to pull punches. Often Holden uses his brilliant talent of ... Show more content

When Holden takes a cab to Ernie s in Greenwich Village he has a conversation with the cab driver,
Horwitz. Salinger demonstrates the paranoia of the 50 s by emphasizing how angry Horwitz is that
Holden is asking him so many questions.
Throughout The Catcher in the Rye Holden complains that the people around him are all phony. This
view probably stems from the extensive trend of conformity that infected the 1950 s. The reader can
understand Holden s reason for hating these phonies. Holden describes any person that embraces the
popular culture as a phony and disdains them for it. This is clear when Holden goes to see The Lunts
with Sally Hayes and is absolutely disgusted by the people around him. When Holden meets Sally s
acquaintance, George, he immediately recognizes him as a phony, strictly ivy league. Big deal. (p.127)
Holden cannot stand people who do not think for themselves. Although Salinger never states his
opinion directly, one can assume by Holden s statements that Salinger was also critical of the 50 s
theme of conformity, or at least aware of it.
Holden meets a handful of people in his adventure that he categorizes as pure and sincere. These
people include his love, Jane Gallagher, his sister, Phoebe, and two nuns that he meets on the street.
Holden recognizes that during the 1950 s there were very few people who were true to themselves.
Holden never addresses this conformity as a unique

Effects Of Anti Babesia Vaccine On The Livestock Industry
4. Discussion Babesia has a worldwide economic importance due to the enormous losses it causes for
the livestock industry. A subunit antigen attracted the attention for the development of anti Babesia
vaccine (Brown et al., 2006). In this respect, HSPs have emerged as prospective immunostimulatory
components for vaccine development (Suto and Srivastava, 1995; Suzue and Young, 1996; Zugel and
Kaufmann, 1999). Therefore, we investigated the characterization of a member of the HSP 70 family
from B. bigemina. The sequence of BbigHSP 70 was found in the genome sequence database of B.
bigemina through the blast search with homologue sequences of B. bovis and B. gibsoni. The
sequence of BbigHSP 70 from the Argentina strain was identified by sequencing. Gene has 2 copies in
most apicomplexan, but we did not analyze the copy number in B. bigemina; this will be done in a
future study. Phylogenetic analysis of the amino acid sequence showed that all intraerythrocytic
protozoan parasites, including Plasmodium spp., make one group located outside the paraphyletic
group containing eumycetes and vertebrates. Since the HSP 70 of the parasites and hosts do not seem
to be closely related, they likely evolved separately. The H SP 70 of Babesia, Theileria and
Plasmodium seem to be closely related; therefore, the function of HSP 70 might be similar among
these parasites. Jie et al. (1996) suggested that HSP 70 perform functions critical to the survival of B.
microti parasites. As described

Theodore Roosevelt Background
Theodore Roosevelt with the assistance of his Rough Riders entered the state of Florida on June 3rd,
1898, within 39 days into the Spanish American War. Theodore was 39 years old when he resigned his
position as an assistant secretary of the Navy in order to take over the first Volunteer Cavalry
Regiment, with the help of Leonard Wood to begin moving into the authority of Spanish from Cuba.
With an anxiety for war and being worried the ship wouldn t leave soon enough before his men ruined
their livers with a surplus of alcohol, Theodore focused on studying Florida s botany to distract his
mind. Due to being a Harvard graduate he was familiar with the study of nature from a scientific
standpoint. He believed a soldier was best made by educating themselves to adapt in the wild;
therefore making it possible to enhance their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

captivation for animals, one characteristic which gave importance to his war account. With the help of
Theodore, the Voluntary Cavalry Regiment adopted three animals to represent them, which were: a
mountain lion cub (which was later given away as a circus attraction, but unfortunately got lost or
stolen in Chicago), an eagle (sadly killed by two bad eagles when put in the same cage), and a terrier
like dog (later given to Sam Black). On June 13, the Yucatan finally set sail out of Tampa Bay, making
Roosevelt extremely excited to escape the current location. During the time the Rough Riders and
Theodore Roosevelt explored the island village of Daiquiri, he claimed to have seen a point where
villagers would strip American corpses of their equipment as soon as they ceased to be

Ethical Issues In The Tale Of Genji
For example most men considered good reasoning, statecraft among others. Men were in top
leadership positions. Women were not permitted to try and let female relatives to get a look at them.
She got away from the gaze of any man whom she was not identified with. These demonstrate that the
overseeing body was made of chauvinists who saw women as lesser creatures than men. Men enabled
women to acquire and pass on property (Kido, p 68). In the Tale of Genji, author demonstrated that
women would be very educated and achieve many things. They were educated different courses other
than those instructed to men. The Men in this tale had likewise been given a more noteworthy level of

The perspective of ethical quality in our cutting edge society indicates like sentiments with those of
the tale.
Women openings were restricted by polygamy. There s just a single particular law of marriage that
administered them, and it s that men couldn t have two formal wives. This didn t keep men from going
to a ton of different women, which gives a great part of the storyline behind the Genji being a Don
Juan (The Tale of Genji; p 30). Likewise, this sort of custom of men having a polygamous nature isn t
viewed as discourteous amid this time. Waka couplets in The Tale of Genji; have special commitment
towards the hugeness of the story. In The Tale of Genji, waka poetry overruns each part of life from
romance to court custom to artistic enjoyment; and as a result of these capacities, the waka is quickly
fused into the Heian exposition narrative (Damrosch and Pike, p 223). Nearer reading of the waka
couplets in The Tale of Genji; makes it apparent that they contribute not just to the excellence of style
yet additionally to the making of a lyrical method of portrayal (The Tale of Genji; p 41). The multi
meaning and double working of many words in the waka make a thickness of allusions.

A Brief Look at the Brothers Grimm
How many little girls dream of being Snow White? How much money did Disney s Tangled make?
What little girl hasn t dressed up as Cinderella or dreamed of meeting her very own prince charming?
These popular fairy tales were created by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Their primary motivation when
starting their collection of fairy tales was to preserve culture rather than entertain, but entertain is what
they did. These fairy tales, and versions of them, have remained popular for a very long time,
outlasting most other works of literature. The Brothers Grimm adapted these well known stories from
around Europe to reflect their own personal views, Germanize them and remove some of the more
disturbing details of the original stories. In the same way, these fairy tales have been altered again and
again to be acceptable to society. Fairy tales similar in theme can be found across the world. The
Brothers Grimm versions are the most familiar because their emphasis on German culture and
Christian morals is very similar to American culture and values. The adaptability and skillful
incorporation of morals and issues considered socially unacceptable in an entertaining story, has
allowed the Brother s fairy tales to last throughout the ages. One of the most popular of the Brothers
Grimm s fairy tales is Snow White. In the original version, the theme was that of a mother daughter
rivalry, but the Grimm brothers changed many elements so that it would more closely reflect their
values. In the

Mirvish s Discount Store History
If you re from Toronto, chances are you re familiar with the flashing bright entrance and quirky
handwritten signs of Honest Ed s. The iconic establishment was initially opened up as a discount store
in 1948 by Ed Mirvish but has since become one of the cities most well known landmarks for tourists
and locals alike. Located on the corner of Bloor and Bathurst, the kitsch department stores twenty
three thousand bulb sign isn t the only interesting thing about the place; the merchandise inside ranges
from tube socks to gold Elvis busts, each advertised with a unique hand painted sign. It was hard news
for some Torontonians to hear that after serving the city for over sixty years, Honest Ed plans to close
its doors on December 31, of this year ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Mirvish family was left with the massive store that was losing its sales while the value of its real
estate rose, making it s sale almost inevitable.
The Vancouver based developer who purchased the site revealed their hopes of using the space to
build a 1000 unit rental project there, including parks, public squares and childcare facilities.
To commemorate its vibrant history, the TTC has give Bathurst station a makeover, replacing all the
signs with hand written ones, and covering the walls with cheeky statements that would make Ed
Mirvish proud such as Been there Dundas.
The installation is said to last until the end of this year but there is some discussion as to making it
permanent. The idea was thought up by TTC manager of customer service, Chris Upfold who stated,
The store was there before the subway. It was there when we were running streetcars on Bloor. We
helped customers and staff get to Honest Ed s then, and we ll continue to serve the residents of the
new development in the future,

its design or notable discount store model, but because of it s significant engagement with the

How Tornados Are Formed
There s a strong natural weather phenomenon in the world. Do you know what is that? That is a
tornado and it is a turbulent air column. (Conserve Energy Future, 2013) When you saw it, it is shaped
like a funnel. Now you can probably know what a tornado is. I am going to tell you more about how
tornadoes are formed.
First, tornados are formed by plenty of supercells. Actually, supercells are a huge cluster of
thunderstorm clouds. In other words, heat rises up as it has a low vapor pressure and cold air drops
down because of its high vapor pressure. (The National Severe Storms Laboratory) Because of this,
the warm air in the end forms a vortex and forms a funnel cloud, also known as tornado.
Secondly, the formation of a tornado can be divided

was he added dribbling. It was because the men were allowed to run with the ball, and it was
necessary to stop them. If he can t run with the ball we don t have to tackle and if we don t have to

Analysis Of Money And Class In America By Lewis Lapham
In his book, Money and Class in America, Lewis Lapham states, The ardor of the American faith in
money easily surpasses the intensity achieved by other societies in other times and places. This notion
is the reoccurring theme in Lapham s book. America is so taken with the idea that without money your
achievements do not mean as much as they would if they came with a large sum of cash. We as a
society value money over more important qualities such as knowledge or integrity. If you have wealth
in America you are looked up too, you are respected. Lapham wrote seeing is believing, and if an
American success is to count for anything in the world it must be clothed in the raiment of property.

To be cool in America you have to have the newest smartphones, the coolest gadgets on the market
and the trendiest clothes. Obviously to get these things you need money, so if you don t have extra
money to splurge on a phone or a new jacket instead of the same holey jacket you ve had for 5 years
you re looked down on. You re branded as an outsider because you don t have what everyone else has.
Laphman states, As often as not it isn t the money itself that means anything; it is the use of money as
the currency of the soul. Lapham is saying that money isn t the end objective for most people; it s the
things they can buy with money that they want. In the movie Clique, there were a group of very
wealthy best friends that thought they were better then everyone. As the movie went on you found out
one of the friends was not as wealthy as the others. You couldn t tell because she spent every penny
she earned on fancy clothes or expensive jewelry. She didn t want her friends to find out because she
knew they thought poor people were below them. That girl represents so many kids that want to fit in

The Pros And Cons Of Gerrymandered States
Gerrymandering, the process where politicians get to choose their voters. Say there is a state with a
population of fifty, now three fifths of that state are democratic and the other two fifths are republican,
now we need to separate this state into five congressional districts. The best way to do this would be
so there are two republican representatives and three democratic. However with gerrymandering
democrats can draw districts that are unfair and they get all five representatives, but if republicans
draw the districts they can draw them were there are three republican representatives and only two
democratic representatives. This process is seen through many states. In North Carolina forty four
percent of voters voted democratic, however thanks to a creative congressional map, seventy seven
percent of representatives were republican. The twelfth district in North Carolina is considered the
most gerrymandered district in the country, and is home to two more of the top ten gerrymandered
districts. Republicans rule six of the most Gerrymandered states, including North Carolina, Louisiana,

Introduction
Negotiating is something that has been around since the beginning of mankind. We all start off
negotiating as little kids, even for little things such as candy and toys. When we grow up, negotiating
becomes sort of the norm. We negotiate consciously and subconsciously every single day. When you
think about it, negotiation takes up most of our lives. We are always trying to see what we can get as a
benefit without giving up much. It always comes down to the pie, how big is the pie and who can get
the biggest slice. As we become adults with careers, there are ever some that become flat our
Negotiators . This means that all they do for a living is negotiate. They are master negotiators and are
praised for being so. When it comes to negotiation, persuasion is also within that talent. You have to
be able to get what you want from people without them feeling like they are being taken advantage of
and that they are also getting just as big a piece of the pie as you are getting, although in reality they
are not. Negotiation Negotiation is all about a strategy. The end result is usually to end a problem that
someone is having, whether it is personally or

The Pros And Cons Of Opioid-Based Treatment
But for most conditions, there is little evidence that opioid based treatment is more effective than other
options (Pho 8). For back pain, migraines, and pain related to surgery, there are many alternative
treatments such as physical therapy or anti inflammatory drugs ( Safer Alternatives 3). This is due to
the fact that opioids are easier to prescribe or even because their patients demand them ( Safer
Alternatives 3). Unfortunately, it is also because insurance plans don t always cover alternative
treatments that may help the patient ( Safer Alternatives 4). This can lead to patients getting addicted
to opioids for something that could have been easily treated using an alternative treatment. In some
cases, the doctors may be susceptible to bribes. For example, six executives from Insys ... Show more

Emergency doctors can sometimes help perpetuate misuse of prescription opioids by refilling a patient
s prescription and providing an excess supply (Pho 4). With seventy five percent of patients who abuse
prescription painkillers getting them from leftover prescriptions, it is definitely possible that they are
getting them from this excess supply provided by emergency doctors (Pho 4).
Although there are many things contributing to the expanding prescription drug abuse problem, there
are also many ways to fix it. To prevent people from obtaining these drugs from home medicine
cabinets, locking up the medicine cabinet or simply locking up prescription drugs elsewhere would
prevent those searching for them from finding them. Another solution to this problem is to host Drug
Take Back events. In May 2011, the US Drug Enforcement Administration sponsored its second
National Prescription Drug Take Back event and collected more than 188 tons of unwanted or expired
medications from 5,361 designated disposal sites around the country ( Is Substance 1). Michele

Potassium Hexacyanoferrate Lab Report
Why Potassium Hexacyanoferrate (III)
I chose to write this paper on potassium Hexacyanoferrate(III) because its inorganic chemical formula
is almost seem similar to Prussiate blue. Prussiate Blue exhibits interesting structural characteristics
and properties. My aim is to explore if potassium Hexacyanoferrate (III) exhibit the similar properties
and characteristics as prussiate blue.
Introduction
The Potassium Hexacyanoferrate (III) is one of the common salts of the ferricyanide. Its chemical
structure is K3[Fe(CN)6], and its common name is potassium ferricyanide.1The coordination complex
is also known under names such as red prussiate of potash, or red potassium prussiate. Potassium
ferricyanide appears as a bright red soluble crystalline ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, ferricyanide is toxic with LD50 value equal to 6400 mg/kg.4 Potassium ferricyanide salt
has been isolated as ruby red crystals and is photosensitive.5 Potassium ferricyanide has the ability to
react with metallic silver to produce silver ferrocyanide, which is used in photography processes.5
Since potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) is a cyanide, it reacts explosively with sodium nitrite and
oxidizes ammonia explosively. Acids, in particular strong acids react with potassium ferricyanide to
form ferricyanic acid, which decomposes to form toxic hydrogen cyanide. Additional physical
characteristics of potassium fericyanide are that it is water soluble and can also exist as crystals as
well as in powder form, and decomposes when heated.5 Its vapor pressure at 200 C is negligible and it
is one of the most stable cyanide complexes.7Potassium ferricyanide is poorly oxidized by active
chlorine, ozone, and potassium permangante.7 Its maximum allowable concentration is 1.25 mg/L and
the oxidation of potassium ferricyanide at pH 7 11 proceeds as

Eureka Rebellion Research Paper
The Eureka Rebellion
It could be argued that democratic reforms would have occurred without the Eureka rebellion but it
provided a symbol, an ideal that continues to motivate protest groups today . (Hirst 2010) The Eureka
Stockade was the first recorded fight for democracy in Australia (9). On the 6th October 1854 James
Bentley, the owner of the Eureka Hotel, kicked and clubbed a drunken miner to death after he had
demanded a drink and a fight had broken out. Bentley was taken into custody by the police but Police
Magistrate Dewes declared that he didn t have to stand trial and was subsequently let go. James was
good friends with the local government officials and when the miners heard of this decision they

The RAC is a community activist organisation that has been campaigning for the rights of refugees in
Australia since 1999. They oppose mandatory detention and offshore processing, and campaign for
refugees to be welcomed in Australia. This protest group organises public rallies and arranges

miners protesting for miners rights and the freedom of the three men arrested for arson. These groups
are similar as they are both campaigning for the rights of their chosen group of people, campaigning
for the freedom the chosen group, and they re both looking to improve the situation for the people that

Is Undocumented Alien Illegal Immigration Really A...
When it comes to anything about conflict in immigration there is always a huge debate. There are two
sides to every story and both make very good supportive arguments. Some with very compelling
statistical reports. But which are true? That s for you to decide. Is undocumented alien illegal
immigration really a national problem? Honestly, I don t believe either side. There is no definite
completely correct reports out there. Both sides exaggerate the data to make it more compelling. But
regardless they both sides have very good arguments. One argument is Immigration helps to determine
the bargaining leverage of the American workers... If you use a form of labor recruitment that bids
down the cost of labor, that leaves you to a society where a small number are very, very rich, nobody
in the middle, and everyone is left scrambling for crumbs at the bottom. P.132
Basically that means, with all the undocumented workers it takes away the labor rights to legal
citizens. Driving they re bargaining rights for a higher wage increase to nothing because everyone is
replaceable. Which then in turn makes the rich richer, and makes the middle class slip into poverty.
Leaving more and more people fighting for livable wages, housing, and a decent life.
The other argument is They never take into account the contributions that undocumented immigrants
make.... It would be an economic and social disaster for 11 million people to pick up and leave....
Without immigration labor, it would almost

Le Romaunt de la Rose of Guillaume de Lorris and Jean de Meung. According to critics, not the entire

Explaining And Discussing Dante s Vision Of Hell
Explaining and Discussing Dante s Vision of Hell in The Inferno Dante s explanation of Hell has
fascinated many individuals by the way it is explained, and more than likely made many use their
mind and overthink it. When readers confront The Inferno, they might be surprised or blown minded
by the way Dante explains what he went through. Many people after reading this might have changed
their way of thinking of Hell because of Dante s lecture, or maybe some still thought the same. Not
everyone thinks that there is a heaven nor a hell, everyone has different believes depending on their
culture and most importantly their religion. Religion is what makes people decide what they believe in
and what not to believe in. When Dante passes through the gates of Hell he knew right away it was
trouble without a doubt, he explains that there is different levels in Hell depending on what that
individual might have done on earth. Virgil is the one who leads Dante into the Gates of Hell, as soon
as Dante enters he then hears countless cries from the many souls that lived on earth and lived their
lives without being aware of their moral choices. Virgil leads Dante to Acheron, which was a river,
and it marks the border of Hell according to the book. Across it there will be many dead souls waiting
to be crossed. Charon was an old man who recognizes Dante and tells him to stay away from the dead
in Hell but then troubles them no longer. Unexpectedly fire and wind rises up from the

Diarrhea Research Paper
Many dogs are taken to veterinary clinics due to diarrhea. A dog s diarrhea is usually resolved after a
day or two but more serious cases would last longer putting the life of the pet at risk. Contrary to the
general belief, diarrhea is not an illness but a symptom of an underlying medical concern that is often
associated with the dog s gastrointestinal system.
Loose bowel movement of dogs is often associated with the inability of the gastrointestinal system to
function normally but this condition can also indicate infection, food allergies and intestinal parasites.
Dogs have a reputation for being voracious and indiscriminate eaters. Diarrhea would result if the dog
has eaten something that disagrees with its system. Ingestion of foreign objects can be another reason
why the dog is passing soft stool.
Diarrhea is not hard to treat but in order to restore the normal balance of the dog s digestive system it
is necessary to know the reasons for the dog s abnormal defecation. Canine diarrhea can be treated

Montville Descriptive Writing
Buzz! All three of our alarm clocks go off. Chantele and I had the hardest time waking up since we
fell asleep last. Lauren and her mom were already awake, showered and ready to go. I couldn t

After the short drive to our terminal, we wait for my other classmates to arrive. After waiting what
seemed like years, the group was all there. Mrs. Nick, my instructor, was her usual fun loving self;
which of course meant that she had to take photos of all of us together. She was so excited for the trip.
To her, it didn t matter if it was 6:00 in the morning, yet I was really nervous since I had never been on
a plane before. Waiting for the plane to take off, flashes of Final Destination popped into my head.
After being in the air for a little while I started to enjoy seeing everything from 40,000 feet in the air.

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath Essay
What is in the spring of your life if the spring of a life refers to your first twenty years in your life?
The Bell Jar, a semi autobiographical novel by Silvia Plath, describes Esther Greenwood s harsh
spring of her life. Narrating in the first person, Esther tells her experience of a mental breakdown in a
descriptive language, helping the readers visualize what she sees and feel her emotions. The novel
takes place in New York City and Boston during the early 1950s when women s roles were limited to
domesticity. The repression of women s roles in the American society during the 1950s and other
influences such as her lack of confidence, her hesitance, her mother, and her feminist point of view

tree symbolize ambition, dreams or goals. Her figs are a happy home with a husband and children, a

believes that choosing one [means] losing all the rest (77). Therefore, she is starving to death, seeing
the figs wither, go black , and [plop] to the ground at my feet (77). Using metaphors in a descriptive
language, Plath makes the reader visualize a young woman under a fig tree with full of figs, hesitating
to pick the figs. The dreams got rotten and drop to her feet. This visualization terrifies the nineteen
year old girl, who should be hopeful for her future, because she should decide on one before they all
drop. Her fear becomes more severe while she performs her last work as an intern in New York City,
which is to be photographed with a symbol of her career goal. She tries to hide herself not to be
photographed because she fears picking only one dream among her dreams. Asked what she wants to

being photographed with a paper rose because the paper rose means, to her, her abandonment of other
goals. Also, her crying depicts a symptom of

African American Theater Essays
Over the course of approximately one hundred years there has been a discernible metamorphosis
within the realm of African American cinema. African Americans have overcome the heavy weight of
oppression in forms such as of politics, citizenship and most importantly equal human rights. One of
the most evident forms that were withheld from African Americans came in the structure of the
performing arts; specifically film. The common population did not allow blacks to drink from the
same water fountain let alone share the same television waves or stage. But over time the strength of
the expectant black actors and actresses overwhelmed the majority force to stop blacks from appearing
on film. For the longest time the performing arts were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

they endear themselves to white audiences and emerge as heroes of sorts (6). One of the most
prevalent plays where this type of black characters emerged was given the name, Uncle Tom s Cabin.
This theatrical production came about during the 1850 s. It gave an overview of Harriet Beecher
Stowe s (a white women who was against slavery) claim that white Americans imagine themselves as
suffering slaves. In this production whites in blackface played Tom, Eliza, and Topsy . This
construction was very controversial; Michael Rogin gives a brief summary and comment on this in his

The production of Uncle Tom s Cabin was not only embracing slaves but also supporting antislavery
politics. There was considerable overlap, to be sure, between the proslavery and sentimental
abolitionist structures of feeling, for maternalist

MPAA Rating System Essay examples
In 1968 Jack Valenti, the president of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), established
the Classification and Ratings Administration (CARA) in an effort to reduce the amount of
objectionable material in film. Before 1968, the MPAA required that all films follow the guidelines of
the Production Code. The Production Code stipulated what was and was not appropriate to appear in
films. In 1966, the MPAA elected Jack Valenti president and he changed the code to a rating system
based on the amount of objectionable content in a film. The rating system went through several
amendments until the current rating system. A controversy arose when The Weinstein Co. film Blue

Since film director, Steven Spielberg, introduced the PG 13 rating in 1984, ratings creep has infected
films. Ratings creep allows material such as perverse language or mature content that would appear in
an R rated film to make its way into films rated PG 13 (Hansen 273). In a content analysis that was
conducted by three researchers they found that [recent] studies of movie content have indicated that
movies with ratings of G, PG, and PG 13, which are unrestricted for child audiences, have included
increasing amounts of adult content . . . across the past decade (Potts and Belden 267). In PG 13 rated
films more material that is objectionable is appearing in the films. In an article for the Journal of
Adolescent Health, the author writes, [despite] the criterion that [ ] rough or persistent violence is
absent [ ] in PG 13 films, studies indicate that PG 13 contains equal, if not more, violence than R films
(Nalkur, Jamieson, and Romer 4). Ratings creep is something that can happen over time. The
Production Code of the early Hollywood years saw a digression of censorship during the late 50s and
early 60s when the committee started to make compromises allowing more elements that were
objectionable to creep into films of that era. Because of the digression of the Production Code the
MPAA president, Jack Valenti, decided to change the Production Code to the current rating system. It

Adolescence Is A Form Of Social Rejection
Adolescence is a period of clear gains in intelligence and cognitive skills and one of intense emotions
and impulsive behavior (Johnson de Haan, 2015). We experience a higher sensitivity to rejection
during this time and place great importance of peer relationships (Masten et al., 2009). Frequent
experiences of social rejection have been linked with lasting somatic, psychosomatic, and
internalizing disorders (Wolke Lereya, 2015), such as depression and anxiety (Rigby, 2000; as cited in
Masten et al., 2009). Educators and researchers alike have attempted to intervene in hopes of reducing
antisocial behaviors like bullying, a form of social rejection. In this paper, I will (1) go over what
adolescence is and broad developmental changes during this period; (2) affective causes of social
rejection; (3) some effects of social rejection during adolescence; and lastly (4) some concluding
statements and future directions.
Adolescence and broad changes during this period
According to Crone and Dahl (2011), adolescence is a transition phase between childhood and
adulthood. They, and many other researchers (e.g, Arnett, 2015), do not believe that the beginning and
end have clear cut boundaries. Somewhat helpfully, a general range of adolescence has been agreed
upon in the literature and is between the ages of 9 and 19; this uses the onset of pubertal maturation as
a marker. Johnson and de Haan (2015) and others have remarked that it is a time that involves a

Statuses
The role we play in society can help influence and define who someone us. These statuses refer to of
the full range of socially defined positions within a large group or society, from the lowest to the
higher. (Schaefer, 2014, p. 106 ) Statuses can either come during birth or can be acquired later in life.
Someone might wear several hats in life, but their main status can be the indicator of who is this
particular person. Our statuses don t define us, but they are an part of us.
According to R.T. Schaefer in his textbook Sociology: a brief introduction (11th ed.), Sociologists
view some statuses as ascribed and others as achieved. (Schaefer, 2014, p. 106 ) Factors you can t
control are related to the social position of ascribed status. These statuses are received at birth and will
stay with you until death, a few of these are your racial background, age, and gender. Also, other traits

Causes Of Chinese Stock Market Crash Essay
Chapter 2: Causes of the Chinese stock market crash
In the previous chapter, the researcher has covered some basic information about the stock market.
Hence, in this chapter, the current situation that the Chinese stock market is suffering from and factors
contributing towards this crisis will be analysed. At the end of this chapter, readers will have an idea
how a market which was stable for many years could become unsteady within such a short period of
time.
2.1. The definition of a stock market crash
A stock market crash represents a steep fall in the value of market prices and it is often the factor
creating economic depression (Galbraith, 1988). However, the value of the drop that can be
considered as a predictor for the crash is debatable. On one hand, Mishkin (1990) argues that the stock
market crash only occurs when there was a 20 percent fall in stock price across crucial cross sections
of a market. On the other hand, Patel and Sarkar (1998) define a stock market crash as a fall of more
than 35 percent of the market s stock value. No matter how large the percentage of a drop in the price
of stocks is on the stock market, both theories agree that the most devastating crashes are usually
consequences of an overly inflated market, which is also known as a bubble (Mishkin, 1990; Pater
Sarkar, 1998).
2.2. The definition of a bubble in the stock market
A bubble in a stock market is an investing phenomenon involving the excessive expectation of

  • 2. Protest Methods Of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a human rights activist who fought for the independence of India from British Rule. His revolutionary protest methods inspired the likes of Martin Luther King Jr. and others. However, many despised Gandhi s methods. One night, Gandhi, after shaming the city of Delhi, was heading to a prayer meeting and it was there that Nathuram Godse fired three point blank shots at Gandhi, killing him on the spot. Gandhi s assassination was justified because he employed controversial protest methods, he defied British Rule, and he combined conflicting religions which caused confusion in his community. Many may say that Gandhi did many great things, but those positives are outweighed by the negatives. To begin with, Gandhi continuously employed controversial and illegal methods to protest the injustices that his people faced. For example, Gandhi led a satyagraha due to the prohibition of salt exportation to India from countries other than Britain. According to This Day in History, Gandhi set out from Sabarmati with 78 followers on a 241 mile march to the coastal town of Dandi on the Arabian Sea. There, Gandhi and his supporters were to defy British policy by making salt from seawater (paragraph 3). This action was literally illegal. Similarly in 1920, America banned the production and distribution of alcohol. However, many individuals decided to make and distribute alcohol or have it imported. They were called bootleggers. Gandhi s actions were comparable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. External Influences In Lord Of The Flies External Influences and Their Effects on Children Fragile. Naive. Innocent. These are all characteristics of children. Adolescence is a time to develop character, and learn valuable life lessons. However, when children do not have guidance from adults, these lessons are not learned. Lord of the Flies, by William Golding focuses on children, and the effects isolation has on them. In the novel, a group of schoolboys are stranded on a desert island after a plane crash. Shortly after, they elect a leader and attempt to survive. The boys are faced with many challenges, both internal and external. These hardships and the lack of structure caused the boys to revert to savage behavior. At first, being on the island seems like all fun and games, however, the boys come to realize the only beast was inside themselves. Golding s depiction of childhood being a time of tribulation and terror proves to readers that without society to set rules in place, people will eventually regress and act savagely, because of lack of regulation, the pressure to conform, and the selection of Jack as the new leader. Children are fragile. Even though children start off innocent, the lack of regulation can shatter that. In Lord of the Flies, the absence of rules and guidance dissolved the boys innocence and started their regression to savagery. The first incident where the boys face a lack of regulation is when the protagonist, Ralph, stands on the terrace and removes his clothes shortly after the crash. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Music Of Rock Roll Introduction I love Rock Roll. So, put another dime in the jukebox baby. (Joan Jett). Still like that old time Rock Roll. That kind of music just soothes the soul, I reminisce about the days of old, with that old time Rock Roll. (Bob Segar). You show us everything you ve got. You keep on dancin and the room gets hot. You drive us wild, we ll drive you crazy. (KISS). Music is the art of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony and expression of emotion and it has always been an integral part of American culture. People of any race, age or social class can enjoy music as a popular form of entertainment. There are many different kinds of music, but Rock Roll is one of the biggest and most popular. Rock Roll began as a mixture of blues and country music and has been ever evolving while spawning numerous additional genres that share its roots. Many of today s megahit artists have credited their style and success to the trailblazers of the early commercial music scene. From dive bars to huge arenas, most artists are out to accomplish the same thing: to tell a story. During the 1950 s, the relationship between whites and blacks was weak, but the music was going strong. There was diversity in music with performers singing blues, country, and classical music, however, the majority of the performers were black. With the existence of dramatic racial barriers, audiences were segregated and small. Many white owned ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Khadiagala and Lyons (2001:83) some of the objectives which guide the operations of SADC are mentioned as follows: to promote regional peace and security; to stimulate development and economic progression, through regional incorporation; to reinforce relations among the populaces of the region; and to develop common political beliefs and organisations. In addition, the current SADC is an important organisation which is considered to bring about the co ordination and validation of policies and strategies for sustainable development in all areas, as well as the effective implementation of the SADC Trade Protocol (Halisi, 1999:54). It also characterised a desire to achieve a deeper and a broader form of economic integration among member states (Nathan, 2013:125). One of the SADC s predicted outcomes were to bring about the construction of stronger cooperation and closer intra regional bonds (Nathan, 2013:126). • 6. He Named Me Malala Analysis With rising tension in the Middle East, there is a surge in Western Ideology coming to the East and vice versa. When reading West of Kabul, East of New York an Afghan American Story by Tamim Ansary, and watching He Named Me Malala the documentary of Malala Yousafzai, it became evident how people who were raised in the East are trying to cope with the fact that they re becoming essentially Americanized, but also trying to hold on to their roots. With both cases, it is clear that within the Middle East the people in question act differently than how they would in America. In the end, these characters achieve a balance of Western and Eastern ideologies through retaining the cultures that they came from. Tamim Ansary has an upper hand in balancing ... What her father said had completely inspired her which is why she began to write for the BBC, and gain international fame, along with attention from the Taliban. Malala said that she would not blame the gunmen; rather an ideology shot her (He Named Me Malala). This incident only empowered her because when she went to the West, she was inspired by the attack. She chose to be a voice for women s rights and raise awareness against the Boko Haram and she eventually won the Nobel Peace Prize. Although it saddens her that she cannot go back to the Swat Valley she realizes that the work that she is doing in the West is monumental compared to what she would be doing living in the ... • 7. 1950 s Culture Exposed in The Catcher in the Rye Essay 1950 s Culture Exposed in The Catcher in the Rye J.D. Salinger s The Catcher in the Rye is a remarkable book that gives readers a unique and perhaps gloomy perspective of the 1950 s through Holden Caulfield, a cynical and peculiar teenager. Through The Catcher in the Rye Salinger describes important aspects of the 1950 s. Salinger emphasizes several key characteristics of the 50 s and criticizes them through Holden. In addition, Holden Caulfield is a very interesting character with several traits that put him at odds with society. Holden attacks various weaknesses in the 50 s society. He criticizes nearly everything that he observes, and refuses to pull punches. Often Holden uses his brilliant talent of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Holden takes a cab to Ernie s in Greenwich Village he has a conversation with the cab driver, Horwitz. Salinger demonstrates the paranoia of the 50 s by emphasizing how angry Horwitz is that Holden is asking him so many questions. Throughout The Catcher in the Rye Holden complains that the people around him are all phony. This view probably stems from the extensive trend of conformity that infected the 1950 s. The reader can understand Holden s reason for hating these phonies. Holden describes any person that embraces the popular culture as a phony and disdains them for it. This is clear when Holden goes to see The Lunts with Sally Hayes and is absolutely disgusted by the people around him. When Holden meets Sally s acquaintance, George, he immediately recognizes him as a phony, strictly ivy league. Big deal. (p.127) Holden cannot stand people who do not think for themselves. Although Salinger never states his opinion directly, one can assume by Holden s statements that Salinger was also critical of the 50 s theme of conformity, or at least aware of it. Holden meets a handful of people in his adventure that he categorizes as pure and sincere. These people include his love, Jane Gallagher, his sister, Phoebe, and two nuns that he meets on the street. Holden recognizes that during the 1950 s there were very few people who were true to themselves. Holden never addresses this conformity as a unique ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Effects Of Anti Babesia Vaccine On The Livestock Industry 4. Discussion Babesia has a worldwide economic importance due to the enormous losses it causes for the livestock industry. A subunit antigen attracted the attention for the development of anti Babesia vaccine (Brown et al., 2006). In this respect, HSPs have emerged as prospective immunostimulatory components for vaccine development (Suto and Srivastava, 1995; Suzue and Young, 1996; Zugel and Kaufmann, 1999). Therefore, we investigated the characterization of a member of the HSP 70 family from B. bigemina. The sequence of BbigHSP 70 was found in the genome sequence database of B. bigemina through the blast search with homologue sequences of B. bovis and B. gibsoni. The sequence of BbigHSP 70 from the Argentina strain was identified by sequencing. Gene has 2 copies in most apicomplexan, but we did not analyze the copy number in B. bigemina; this will be done in a future study. Phylogenetic analysis of the amino acid sequence showed that all intraerythrocytic protozoan parasites, including Plasmodium spp., make one group located outside the paraphyletic group containing eumycetes and vertebrates. Since the HSP 70 of the parasites and hosts do not seem to be closely related, they likely evolved separately. The H SP 70 of Babesia, Theileria and Plasmodium seem to be closely related; therefore, the function of HSP 70 might be similar among these parasites. Jie et al. • 11. A Brief Look at the Brothers Grimm How many little girls dream of being Snow White? How much money did Disney s Tangled make? What little girl hasn t dressed up as Cinderella or dreamed of meeting her very own prince charming? These popular fairy tales were created by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Their primary motivation when starting their collection of fairy tales was to preserve culture rather than entertain, but entertain is what they did. These fairy tales, and versions of them, have remained popular for a very long time, outlasting most other works of literature. The Brothers Grimm adapted these well known stories from around Europe to reflect their own personal views, Germanize them and remove some of the more disturbing details of the original stories. In the same way, these fairy tales have been altered again and again to be acceptable to society. Fairy tales similar in theme can be found across the world. The Brothers Grimm versions are the most familiar because their emphasis on German culture and Christian morals is very similar to American culture and values. The adaptability and skillful incorporation of morals and issues considered socially unacceptable in an entertaining story, has allowed the Brother s fairy tales to last throughout the ages. One of the most popular of the Brothers Grimm s fairy tales is Snow White. She was so excited for the trip. To her, it didn t matter if it was 6:00 in the morning, yet I was really nervous since I had never been on a plane before. Waiting for the plane to take off, flashes of Final Destination popped into my head. After being in the air for a little while I started to enjoy seeing everything from 40,000 feet in the air. Three hours later I arrived in Nashville, Tennessee where the International Career Development Conference was being held. The atmosphere seemed to change as soon as I stepped off the plane. • 30. The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath Essay What is in the spring of your life if the spring of a life refers to your first twenty years in your life? The Bell Jar, a semi autobiographical novel by Silvia Plath, describes Esther Greenwood s harsh spring of her life. Narrating in the first person, Esther tells her experience of a mental breakdown in a descriptive language, helping the readers visualize what she sees and feel her emotions. The novel takes place in New York City and Boston during the early 1950s when women s roles were limited to domesticity. The repression of women s roles in the American society during the 1950s and other influences such as her lack of confidence, her hesitance, her mother, and her feminist point of view seem to affect her mental breakdown. She compares a life to a fig tree, and the figs on the fig tree symbolize ambition, dreams or goals. Her figs are a happy home with a husband and children, a famous poet, a brilliant professor, an amazing editor and so on. Although having lots of goals, she believes that choosing one [means] losing all the rest (77). Therefore, she is starving to death, seeing the figs wither, go black , and [plop] to the ground at my feet (77). Using metaphors in a descriptive language, Plath makes the reader visualize a young woman under a fig tree with full of figs, hesitating to pick the figs. The dreams got rotten and drop to her feet. This visualization terrifies the nineteen year old girl, who should be hopeful for her future, because she should decide on one before they all drop. Her fear becomes more severe while she performs her last work as an intern in New York City, which is to be photographed with a symbol of her career goal. She tries to hide herself not to be photographed because she fears picking only one dream among her dreams. Asked what she wants to be, she says she does not know, but soon says she wants to be a poet. Then, she bursts into tears while being photographed with a paper rose because the paper rose means, to her, her abandonment of other goals. Also, her crying depicts a symptom of ... • 31. African American Theater Essays Over the course of approximately one hundred years there has been a discernible metamorphosis within the realm of African American cinema. African Americans have overcome the heavy weight of oppression in forms such as of politics, citizenship and most importantly equal human rights. One of the most evident forms that were withheld from African Americans came in the structure of the performing arts; specifically film. The common population did not allow blacks to drink from the same water fountain let alone share the same television waves or stage. But over time the strength of the expectant black actors and actresses overwhelmed the majority force to stop blacks from appearing on film. For the longest time the performing arts were ... This person was the one who endured all of the abuse from any white person who was in the position of superiority. Bogle defines him as, the harassed hounded, flogged, enslaved, and insulted. They keep the faith, and stay true to their masters always remaining kind and selfless. Thus they endear themselves to white audiences and emerge as heroes of sorts (6). One of the most prevalent plays where this type of black characters emerged was given the name, Uncle Tom s Cabin. This theatrical production came about during the 1850 s. It gave an overview of Harriet Beecher Stowe s (a white women who was against slavery) claim that white Americans imagine themselves as suffering slaves. In this production whites in blackface played Tom, Eliza, and Topsy . This construction was very controversial; Michael Rogin gives a brief summary and comment on this in his book, Blackface, Whitenoise: The production of Uncle Tom s Cabin was not only embracing slaves but also supporting antislavery politics. There was considerable overlap, to be sure, between the proslavery and sentimental abolitionist structures of feeling, for maternalist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. MPAA Rating System Essay examples In 1968 Jack Valenti, the president of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), established the Classification and Ratings Administration (CARA) in an effort to reduce the amount of objectionable material in film. Before 1968, the MPAA required that all films follow the guidelines of the Production Code. The Production Code stipulated what was and was not appropriate to appear in films. In 1966, the MPAA elected Jack Valenti president and he changed the code to a rating system based on the amount of objectionable content in a film. The rating system went through several amendments until the current rating system. Since film director, Steven Spielberg, introduced the PG 13 rating in 1984, ratings creep has infected films. Ratings creep allows material such as perverse language or mature content that would appear in an R rated film to make its way into films rated PG 13 (Hansen 273). In a content analysis that was conducted by three researchers they found that [recent] studies of movie content have indicated that movies with ratings of G, PG, and PG 13, which are unrestricted for child audiences, have included increasing amounts of adult content . . . across the past decade (Potts and Belden 267). In PG 13 rated films more material that is objectionable is appearing in the films. In an article for the Journal of Adolescent Health, the author writes, [despite] the criterion that [ ] rough or persistent violence is absent [ ] in PG 13 films, studies indicate that PG 13 contains equal, if not more, violence than R films (Nalkur, Jamieson, and Romer 4). Ratings creep is something that can happen over time. The Production Code of the early Hollywood years saw a digression of censorship during the late 50s and early 60s when the committee started to make compromises allowing more elements that were objectionable to creep into films of that era. Because of the digression of the Production Code the MPAA president, Jack Valenti, decided to change the Production Code to the current rating system. It is also a corrupt ... • 33. Adolescence Is A Form Of Social Rejection Adolescence is a period of clear gains in intelligence and cognitive skills and one of intense emotions and impulsive behavior (Johnson de Haan, 2015). We experience a higher sensitivity to rejection during this time and place great importance of peer relationships (Masten et al., 2009). Frequent experiences of social rejection have been linked with lasting somatic, psychosomatic, and internalizing disorders (Wolke Lereya, 2015), such as depression and anxiety (Rigby, 2000; as cited in Masten et al., 2009). Educators and researchers alike have attempted to intervene in hopes of reducing antisocial behaviors like bullying, a form of social rejection. In this paper, I will (1) go over what adolescence is and broad developmental changes during this period; (2) affective causes of social rejection; (3) some effects of social rejection during adolescence; and lastly (4) some concluding statements and future directions. Adolescence and broad changes during this period According to Crone and Dahl (2011), adolescence is a transition phase between childhood and adulthood. They, and many other researchers (e.g, Arnett, 2015), do not believe that the beginning and end have clear cut boundaries. Somewhat helpfully, a general range of adolescence has been agreed upon in the literature and is between the ages of 9 and 19; this uses the onset of pubertal maturation as a marker. Johnson and de Haan (2015) and others have remarked that it is a time that involves a significant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Causes Of Chinese Stock Market Crash Essay Chapter 2: Causes of the Chinese stock market crash In the previous chapter, the researcher has covered some basic information about the stock market. Hence, in this chapter, the current situation that the Chinese stock market is suffering from and factors contributing towards this crisis will be analysed. At the end of this chapter, readers will have an idea how a market which was stable for many years could become unsteady within such a short period of time. 2.1. The definition of a stock market crash A stock market crash represents a steep fall in the value of market prices and it is often the factor creating economic depression (Galbraith, 1988). However, the value of the drop that can be considered as a predictor for the crash is debatable. On one hand, Mishkin (1990) argues that the stock market crash only occurs when there was a 20 percent fall in stock price across crucial cross sections of a market. On the other hand, Patel and Sarkar (1998) define a stock market crash as a fall of more than 35 percent of the market s stock value. No matter how large the percentage of a drop in the price of stocks is on the stock market, both theories agree that the most devastating crashes are usually consequences of an overly inflated market, which is also known as a bubble (Mishkin, 1990; Pater Sarkar, 1998). 2.2.
