The Creation Of Mickey Mouse In The 1920 s
The 1920s, nicknamed the roaring 20s, was a time of new dance, clothing, and cartoons. People
doing the Charleston, woman daring society by dressing in heels and dresses, and people creating
exciting new cartoons. Betty Boop, Felix the Cat, Bugs Bunny, and of course Mickey Mouse were
all popular cartoons in the 1920s. Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney and was arguably the
most famous cartoon character in the 20s. Disney created Mickey Mouse and produced the first
full length animated movie (Schickel). During this time one of the greatest cartoon icons was
created by Walt Disney after his distributor stole his first character and it led to the creation of the
most recognizable cartoon character, Mickey Mouse.
Before Walt Disney s creation of Mickey Mouse he went through some struggles. He did not
always own his own business. He worked with a small group of men, who abandon him (Watts,
25). They abandon him due to the fact the business was falling apart and running out of money.
After being abandoned, he sought out for work as a cartoon artist for two newspaper companies but
was turned down both times. After job hunting for many months, Disney befriended Iwerks and
began working on his next idea: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. ... Show more content on

Oswald as his own saying it was property of Universal Pictures (Watts, 29). Disney got nothing for
his own character, After his character was stolen he was heartbroken. He did not give up though, he

Venezuel A Powerful Member State
Nevertheless, Venezuela is a very powerful member state because of its size, its highly
industrialized society, and a GPD comparable to that of Argentina and Brazil. It also has the second
largest export sector of all Latin American countries and the largest oil and gas reserves in Latin
America. These factors equip Venezuelawith sufficient power to affect the Mercosur agenda and
rival the influence of Argentina and Brazil. The Argentinian government, led by President Cristina
Kirchner, has sympathized with Chavez s vision for Mercosur. However, the Brazilian government
has taken a different position and wishes to continue Mercosur s original agenda of free trade and
open markets, but it needs to remain a member to maintain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These two countries governments are left leaning, sympathetic to Venezuela s politics of resistance,
and wish to promote a regional integration that involves regional resistance to American hegemony.
They share with Venezuela a Bolivarian vision of Latin American unity and power. Thus, in the
near future, the majority of Mercosur members will likely share and promote an anti neo liberal
agenda rather than a free trade one.
b.Challenges to Accomplishing Venezuela s New Vision for Mercosur
The prospect of achieving Mercosur s progressive new vision is fraught with challenges as much as
it is inspired by hope. United States interests will continue to resist losing their economic and
political grip in the region. This will not be the only obstacle facing the success of this new vision.
The sheer magnitude of the project will require a serious commitment, and Latin America s diversity
of political beliefs and cultures could prove to be more marked than its homogeneity. For example,
there are two Latin Americas at the moment. The first is a bloc of countries include Brazil,
Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Ecuador. They mistrust globalization, resists neo
liberalism, and seek to give the state a large role in the economy. The second bloc, including
Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Colombia, embraces free trade and free markets and has a closer
connection with Washington. Both sets of countries share similar geography, culture and

Michelle Woolley Sauter is the lead designer and owner of One Coast Design Corporation now
based in Summerville, South Carolina just outside Charleston. Since 1995 Michelle has been
giving back to charities close to her heart. Through her efforts of philanthropy during her 28
years in the State of Florida, she worked in conjunction with local and regional non profit task
forces dealing directly with hunger and homelessness of displaced children throughout South
Florida and the islands of the Caribbean. Michelle launched a Food Pantry within the Safe House
and offices of Children s Home Society, the largest counseling facility and adoption agency in
the state of Florida. This was a pivotal and extremely influential move as now case workers
going out to make site visits were able to identify situations where the only issue for these
families was being under resourced. Because needs are usually delayed due to processing
constraints, many families could go without immediately needed resources such as food and baby
items for days. The setting up of an organized Pantry would be a stop gap measure and needed
items would be organized and distributed expediently to these families.... Show more content on

Effects Of Amendment 2 On The State Florida
Has anyone done any research on what the effects Amendment 2 would have on the state Florida?
Well the opposition clearly did not do any research and the politicians used smooth talking fallacies
to blind side the voters. It is time to see the holes in their stance on medical marijuana.
The Smokescreen as defined by the author Joe Cardona from the Miami Herald, is the lack of
liability Amendment 2 brought to the table when it hit the polls in October. His meaning behind
this is because a medical marijuana user would not be receiving a prescription from a trained
medical physician. Instead, they would be receiving a referral for a license to receive treatment
and they would have it forever. Also as part of Joe Cardona s Smokescreen theory, because the fact
that Amendment 2 is a constitutional amendment that there would have been no way to tweak or
amended it, like a legislative law would. So regulating the consumption of medical marijuana would
be impossible. (Cardona, 2014)
Unfortunately he is not the only one to interpret Amendment 2 this way. Dr. Rafael Miguel,
director of the Sarasota Memorial Institute for Advanced Medicine s Pain Medicine Program and
representatives for Drug Free America. He states that You don t get refills, you get it forever. There
s no regulation on consumption. (Gillin, 2014)
These bold statements were completely wrong and very misinforming. The referral would also
have a date attached, so a doctor would put on the referral how long the

The Big Five Personality Traits
Of the Big Five personality traits, I scored highest on neuroticism. I compared myself to my
friend. My friend scored highest on extraversion. I scored lowest on extraversion, whereas my
friend scored lowest on agreeableness. I was somewhat surprised at my results that my friend
received. However, I was not surprised by my results. I am a typically anxious person, so I knew I
would probably score high on neuroticism. However, I thought my friend would score higher on
agreeableness. I don t agree with some of these because I believe that my friend falls a little
higher on the agreeableness, while I believe we both fall a little higher on the openness scale. I
also believe there is more to a person s personality than that. There are several ways in which the
uniqueness of each individual can be portrayed by just a few traits. A lot of times, trait
psychologists use the Big Five to measure someone s personality just because it s a simple,
convenient way to do it. Another reason psychologists often use the Big Five to measure
personality traits is because it seems to capture every possible trait that there could be in a
person s personality. According to the book, it s easier to use the Big Five because it s like a
radio: would you rather have dozens of radio stations with decent sound or only a few radio stations
with amazing sound quality? Of course, most people would want the option of having a few radio
stations with the amazing sound quality. Therefore, trait

Vimy Ridge History
The 100th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge is an important part of Canada 150
celebrations and a defining event in the history of our nation. Although Confederation occurred 50
years earlier, it has been said that in 1917, Canada was transformed from colony to nation on the
slopes of Vimy Ridge. Less well recognized is the important service of Canadas legal professionals
in that part of our history. This year will be different.
In April, Canadians will commemorate the uncommon service and sacrifice of the soldiers,
sailors, and airmen who left their families and occupations to serve in WWI generally and at
Vimy in particular. For the first time, in recognition of the remarkable service and leadership of
Canada s legal professionals, the Chief Justice of Canada and the Judge Advocate General of
Canada are invited to participate formally in the Vimy commemoration at the national cenotaph in
Ottawa. This recognition has been well earned.

early birds of the brave me on the dock and ships in the Pearl Harbor of Oahu. This is how the
American people view this table turning day for the war.
In the 21st Century, the United States of America think of Japan as an ally, our partner. Japan and
the United States were always friendly competitors ( ). But those who have been in that Harbor

The Secret River By Kate Grenville
The Secret River is written by Kate Grenville, an internationally well known author. It s also her
most influential magnum opus. Kate Grenville said, her mother s grandfather was a poor man
from London and sentenced to be sent to Australia because of stealing timbers in the early
nineteenth century. After arriving to Sidney, he thought presumingly that he finally had his
own land. The thing makes Grenville curious is that the land was supposed to belong to
aboriginal people but how her grandfather could make a living on this land. It s important for her
to know about if her grandfather dealt with this problem by gun or even gave the exchange to
aboriginal people. Therefore, she did a lot of historical researches and wrote novel The Secret
River eventually. This is a story about family and Australia. It s also a story about more than a
family that narrates a complicated relationship between Australia s aboriginal people and white
colonists. It happened in the early nineteenth century in England and Australia. William Thornhill,
the hero came from a family of little money and suffered from hunger and cold since childhood.
Afterwards, Thornhill was apprenticed to Sal s father and became a capable boatman on the river
of Thames, also got married with Sal. However, after Sal s parents died one after the other, their
living got more and more poverty stricken so that Thornhill had to make a living by stealing. Once

African Diaspora Research Paper
The term African diaspora describes the time period between 1511 and 1888 when a great
migration of Africans inhabited America. Joseph Harris described the concept of the African
diaspora as, Global disposition (voluntary or in voluntary) of Africans throughout history; the
emergence of a cultural identity abroad based on origin and social Africa. This viewed, the African
diasporaassumes the character of a dynamic continuous and complex phenomenon starching cross
time geography, class and gender .
Starting in the 1500 s Africans began to be imported from various countries along the slave coast
or West Africa as slaves. Often Africans were split up from people of their ethnic group in order to
decrease the chance of rebellion and dangerous communication . However many Africans from
countries with similar languages formed a way of communication, the most popular languages were
Igbo, Yaruba, and Hausa. Eventually the mixture of different African languages, along with
English, began to blend with English creating a whole knew language called Gullah a mixture

Moral Values In Beowulf
Ever since a young age, children have been told stories with a clear moral lesson. These lessons
are used explicitly to show basic principles that a growing mind needs. However, as one ages the
morals become less obvious, but they remain just as influential. Examples of these less direct
morals are seen by young adults in academic analyzation and in their personal and social lives
through popular movies or music. Marvel s Spider Man: Homecoming and Anglo Saxon poem,
Beowulf, exist to help readers understand a variety of moralprinciples needed to become a
respectable citizen and a hero. The writers of the screenplay and epic portray the main character as
a tragic hero to show audiencethat one may have the confidence to attempt a task, but they must
be reasonable enough when they are not capable to do so. In the film, Spider Man/Peter Parker
takes on crimes that he thinks he is ready for, but is not trained enough to do so. When he is not
able to complete the task, his mistake leads to almost costing the lives of thousands of people and
him losing his suit. (Spider Man: Homecoming). The screenplay writers use this scene to show
how our hero relied on the wrong factors and did not take in account that he was not ready to
complete his goal, representing society s tendency to eagerly jump at opportunities that they are not
yet ready for.
In the epic, Beowulf , the author writes, ... Beowulf rose, still brave, still strong, and with his shield
at his side, and a mail shirt on his breast, strode calmly, confidently, toward the tower... (Lines 511
513). The author wrote this quote to emphasize to readers how confident Beowulf was upon
entering this battle despite his older age. This event causing his untimely death gives the impression
to the audience that going into a situation unprepared sometimes leads to irreversible outcome. In
addition to encouraging audience members to understand their limits, the two works also show the
importance of asking for help.
The main characters in both plots are given opportunities to achieve their goals by already
respected superiors, proving to the audience that it is okay to require help. In the film, Peter Parker
is finally given his chance to become the hero when billionaire,

A Model Transformation Approach For Mobile Application
Nowadays, there is no stable model transformation approach for mobile application. Model
transformation is one of the prominent features and the rising research area of Model Driven
Engineering (MDE). There is still gap between software designer and developer because of the
heavyweight of graphical modeling language like Unified Modeling Language(UML). The textual
modeling language attempts to fill the gap between modeling and implementing in the development
lifecycle. The proposed research work intends to transform text based model oriented program to
mobile application. UML Programming Language (Umple) uses the concept of textual modeling as
a technique to reduce differences between the model and the code. The technique of model
transformation is defined by meta model and transformation rule. The proposed work intends to
construct the source meta model for model oriented program and the target meta model for mobile
application. And it also intends to define model transformation rules to bridge the gap between
source and target meta model by using ATLAS (ATL) transformation language. The proposed
system expected to generate the android source project and create, retrieve, update, and delete
(CRUD) android apps.
Although there are already some approaches to model driven development of mobile apps, there is
still gap in model transformation approach for mobile applications. Individual Approaches are in
moving target. The technical space of model transformations still needs

Freight Rate Management and Shareholder Value
The shipping markets have been among the most active among markets over the last couple of
years. This significant growth in shipping markets has been influenced by changes in import
policies, globalization and changing freight rates. Globalization and changes in the import policies
across states and continents have positively influenced the growth of the shipping markets, with
marginalized and developing countries having an opportunity to venture into the global arena.
Freight rates are however proportionate to growth of shipping markets and their contribution to the
development of shipping markets has been influenced by several factors, some of which lead to

To avoid the risks associated with fluctuating freight rates and volatility as witnessed over the last
couple of years, companies must ensure that they consider hedging. Hedging helps in controlling
the cash inflow and outflow as dictated by both internal and external parameters (Kavussanos
Visvikis 2006). Operating costs, which is affected by among other things bunker prices, should be
addressed through hedging to ensure that companies maximize their profits and that the share
prices remain competitive and profitable.
Being registered in the London Stock Exchange, Hellenic Company has witnessed a significant
reduction in its share prices, mainly due to changes in the freight rates. The charges associated with
transporting gods and commodities from one region to another have been affected by among other
things, competition, bunker prices and inflation. The companies in the shipping business have to
adopt many strategies to minimize the risks associated with freight services (Schwartz Smith 2000).
Change in technology and services would influence management of cash inflows and outflows as it
would influence change in freight rates and hence maximize profits.
Volatility
Shipping companies have experienced volatility over the last couple of years due to inflation,
change in market demand of certain goods and competition due to an increase in the number of

Canaan is in Israel. The books of the bible where Canaan is located is Genesis, Exodus, Numbers,

the before Christ century because it did take its place in so many books of the bible. Especially
in Joshua where the conquest took place in Canaan. Canaan is also known as the promise land.
The whole book of Joshua talks about the conquest of Canaan. Then it also talks about the division

The Shadow Of A Gunman
The Shadow of a Gunman by Sean O Casey
In nineteen twenty three, Sean O Casey released a book of three plays all of which were
performed at the prestigious Abbey Theater. Three Dublin Plays , was broken down into exactly
that, three plays; The Shadow of a Gunman, Juno and the Paycock, and The Plough and the Stars.
Of those three, I chose to examine The Shadow of a Gunman. This was the very first of the three
plays to be accepted into Abbey Theater and is set in May of 1920. The author himself, Sean O
Casey, was a huge supporter of the patriotism flowing through Ireland. Originally born John O

himself to learning the Irish language. In The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One last point that I believe will tie everything together by the end is that of romanticism in
relation to nationalism. Although these themes sound similar they each have their own distinct
differences, and I believe intertwined is what made this play great and gave the audience
something to gravitate to because it was relatable in their own lives, and soon enough it will be
explained just how. In the Second Act, Davoren s roommate Seumas Shield s makes a comment
in reference to the war that is continuing to rage on: The country is gone mad...It s the civilians
that suffer...Shot in the back to save the British Empire, an shot in the breast to save the soul of
Ireland (Pg. 40) Shield s continues on past this line on his belief that this battle for nationalism is
a much more dangerous environment for the average citizen than it is for the forces actually
fighting. The shot in the back by the British obviously is illustrating the ill fated relationship
between the two sides, as the British do not care about the Irish and who they are, referring to
them British as cowards for shooting behind them. As for the breast shot to save Ireland, it is
important he notes the shot in the breast, right in the chest. The opposite position of the shot
shows how even right in front of you, you can still be killed by your own people to save
Ireland . This connection shows Shield s more of a cynical view of nationalism, as seen in Irish

Differences And Effectiveness Of Prescriptive Grammar In...
English is taught with specific rules such as: sentence structures, proper formatting, proper
words, and improper words. The set a rules and a language has and the way it should be used is
known as prescriptive grammar and is taught in this manner because it allows people to be
understood clearly in their writings and speeches. The opposite of prescriptive grammar is
known as descriptive grammar and is concerned with how a language is used. Bill Bryson, a
novelists on English, history, and science describes the difference and usefulness of prescriptive
grammar and descriptive grammar in his article titled, Good English and Bad . Prescriptive
grammar is important to learn because it has specific rules we follow; therefore, we are able to
communicate ideas, news, and information in a universal english language that is understood by
everyone. The education I received for English was not advanced; however, it did teach me the
importance of standardized writing to show meaning. At a young age, I was told there was a
proper way to write and speak English. I was taught the many rules such as: the difference between
singular verbs, pluralverbs, may, can, well good and when to properly use them. Prescriptive
grammar rules seemed meaningless when I first learned them; however, as I grew older I
realized the importance of properly speaking or writing English. I discovered, when I applied
prescriptive grammar my thoughts and intentions became more clear. For example, may I use
the restroom is used to indicate I want to be excused from a situation so I take care of my body.
When I say, can I use the restroom it implies something is either wrong with the restroom or
something is wrong with my body. It is awkward that one word is capable of affecting a sentence
so greatly; however, according to descriptive grammar a person will be able to understand my
intentions regardless of which sentence I use. My point is not that we should ignore descriptive
grammar, but we should all learn grammar with specific rules so we are able to derive a greater
meaning. If everyone is taught English in a particular way with specific rules then there would be
less misinterpretations and we would be able to explain ourselves

Paul and Norman grew up in the same household, with the same values, but from their fishing
styles, to their jobs and educations, to their social lives, their differences amount to those of night
and day. While boys, young in age and mindsets, Paul and Norman learned to fish from Mr.
Maclean. This factor had vast significance because, in this preacher s family, a clear line between
fishing and religion had no presence. Mr. Maclean taught his sons the conventional four count.
As Paul matured, he converted, from using the common four count, to something a bit more
innovative, shadow casting. The technique wasn t the only thing he altered. He also caught fish for
quality, which leaked with palpability when he told Norman he aspired to ... Show more content on

As far as his gambling goes, I never, even once saw Norman gamble. He didn t drink very often
either. Once, he went to see Paul at his office and seemed disappointed in his brother s drinking
early in the morning. This Norman s traditional side, once again.
I have pondered the question, How can two people, who grew up with the same parents, at the
same time turn out so differently? I m not exactly sure as to why, but I speculate it has to do with
not just one, single, factor. I believe the answer lies in a combination of birth order, looks, and the
fact that separate people will act separately. Whether it s in the way they fish, to the jobs they
choose, to the friends and activities they surround themselves with, different people will behave
differently. Since watching this movie, I have noticed that, as Americans, we look down on
uniqueness, yet embrace independence and freedom. I almost think this movie was made in order
to show the viewers the importance of

The Transition Between High School And College
All children become an adult at some point in their lives. The transition between high school and
college exemplifies this transition. Yet few of these students feel prepared for the challenge that is
adult life. After living with their parents for 17 18 years, the move away from home and getting
saddled with a plethora of responsibilities can be jolting. William Allen has many graduation
requirements, but an Independent Living class is not one of them. This needs to change. High
Schoolought to prepare students for the everyday aspect of collegeand life after school, not just the
academic aspect of college. The graduation requirements of the AllentownSchool district include 4
years of English, 3 years of math and science, and 2 years of foreign language (PROGRAM OF
STUDIES 2015 2016 William Allen High School Louis E. Dieruff High School, 7). It does not
include any sort of class designed to help students learn important life techniques. School is
designed to prepare us for college and the difficult transition between high school and college.
But the way our high school curriculum is designed it only prepares us for the academic aspect
of college, and without regard to people who may choose to take a gap year or not go to college.
When going to college, students may worry about the dorms. They must adjust to college lifestyle
and making new friends. The additional stress of being suddenly ladled with a plethora of
responsibilities on top of this stress can be daunting.

The effect of advertising on sales
Advertising can be considered independent of other selling efforts, advertising always tries to
effect sales constantly where as machines fore example may not be considered independent ,
because it has relies on other terms for example what is the use of machine without raw material or
what is the use of machine without labor or both together. (G.M.Brown AND F.A.Macina, Jan1940,
2)
Advertising may be the reason why the consumer purchased the product and by time he may
reach to a certain degree of loyalty the repeat purchase the buyer may be considered to be the
result of the earlier advertising so this shows the long term effect of advertising this was agreed
with by other researchers they stated that a carry over effect may occur

Barry Wisebram Case Study
When Sun Pet LTD. General Manager Barry Wisebram was a child, he d go into pet stores and
watch the hamsters, Guinea pigs and other small animals scamper around in their habitats. Having
the small animals to watch was what made him want to enter and stay in the store, and eventually,
Wisebram wound up buying one.
Now, Wisebram is helping to continue that cycle of drawing customers into pet stores and having
them find a fascination with small animals through Sun Pet LTD. s job of supplying wholesale
animals, including small animals, to pet retailers around the country.

animals into a larger enclosed area so that the animals can exercise and play more freely.
For those who want to take their small animal on the go, LIXIT Corporation, the world s largest
manufacturer of small animal watering devices, offers a 19 inch small pet carrier that comes in a
variety of trendy patterns and colors, including skull and cross bones and camo green.
Taking the importance of small animal products into consideration, Wisebram says the most
lucrative small animal for a pet store might be a ferret.
According to Wisebram, ferret food is typically a little more expensive than those for other small
animals. Ferrets also use a litter box, so retailers have to sell litter and a box when someone
purchases a ferret. Shampoos and sprays that help lessen their musky smell can also be sold.
Then there are the ferret clothes.

A Lesson in Maturity from J.M. Barrie s Peter Pan Essay
J M. Barrie s Peter Pan is a poignant tale about the magic of childhood. The main character, Peter
Pan, is a magical boy who wishes never to fall into the banality of adulthood, but to have an
adventure every moment and remain forever young. The play details Peter s relationship with a
young girl, Wendy, who is on the cusp of young adulthood. Peter s gang, the Lost Boys, wish for a
mother to read them stories. Peter goes and retrieves Wendy to be their new mother. Their
adventures reveal much about the nature of childhood and Barrie s thoughts on the bittersweet
necessity of growing up.

must first set himself up as an authority on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When one plays pretend as a child, anything is possible. Barrie has such a thorough understanding
of a child s mind that he creates a fantasy land that we all remember. In this manner, Barrie creates
credibility for his argument on the importance of putting away childish things at the appropriate
time.
Barrie expresses the core of his argument through the actions of the children and Peter himself.
Throughout the play, the reader observes many instances of the children playing grown up.
When Peter first brings Wendy to Never Land, we see Slightly, one of the Lost Boys, playing
doctor (69 70). This shows a fundamental need to grow up and find your purpose or profession.
In many of the different acts the reader also sees the children pretending to have a family. The
best example of this is in pages 98 118. The Lost Boys and Wendy s creation of a family reflects not
only the children s need for a family, but their need to grow up and create families of their own.
In this scene, one of the Lost Boys, Michael, states his wish to grow up when he says Wendy, I am
too big for a cradle (101). Even Peter, who claims he wants to always be a little boy and to have fun
reveals that he once wanted to return to reality as well (113). On page 110, Peter says that after

Sarbanes-Oxley s Code Of Ethics
First, we need to grasp how Codes of ethics were created and if formulated from a standard
boilerplate Ethics program. As stated by FindLaw.com under Corporate Ethics and Sarbanes
Oxley, in order to create code of ethics, an organization must define its most important guiding
values, formulate behavioral standards to illustrate the application of those values to the roles
and responsibilities of the persons affected, review the existing procedures for guidance and
direction as to how those values and standards are typically applied, and establish the systems
and processes to ensure that the code is implemented and effective. (Navran, 2003) A company
can work to promote ethical behavior; however, the process is not easily created from boilerplate.

Critical Analysis of a Game:

The game I have chosen for my critical analysis is Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead Redemption
was made, published, and engineered by a company called Rockstar Games (Rockstar Website).
The major distributor of the game is a company who happens to own Rockstar, Take Two
interactive. Being one of the most successful video game developers to date, Rockstar is famous
for creating the popular and controversial game series Grand Theft Auto. Rockstar differs very
much from other video game developers because they are one of few who have grown and

I played the game on my Xbox 360 console. To capture the experience of the Wild West, Rockstar
consulted some historical experts in the field, along with channelling a lot of time and money into
the graphics of the game. According to a New York Times online article, Rockstar spent between
80 100 million dollars on developing the game (Schiesel 2010). I mention this statistic because this
comes to show the new era of devotion Rockstar brought to video game production.
In any video game, soundtracks can be an incredible boost in its overall character. The soundtracks
in Red Dead Redemption are authentic; it gives the game historical flavour. What I mean by this
is you truly get a feeling of the Western experience. Rockstar brought on composers Woody
Jackson and Bill Elm. In a behind the scenes video, the composers explain that it is essential for
them to find a balance, paying homage to what was there but also trying to add our stamp to the
music (GamerSpawn, 2010). Another interesting fact they mentioned was the ability for the game
to launch certain lines of music to start based on your actions. For example, if you jump on a
horse, a bass line rolls in. If the player is in a shootout, the music intensifies. The music helps
reinforce the player s connection with the historic west by creating familiar sounds associated with
the Western era.
Before I mention the problem spaces of the game, I would like to continue back to explaining

A Massive Earthquake, A Nuclear Emergency, And A Tsunami
A massive earthquake, a nuclear emergency, and a tsunami have impacted Nissan Motor Company,
an automobile manufacturer. The below paper describes how proper operations management
practices will help with the recovery of Nissan. Operations Management (OM) is the set of
activities that creates value in the form of goods and services by transforming inputs into outputs
(Heizer Render, 2014). Nissan uses operations managementfunctions, such as organizing, leading,
planning, staffing, and controlling, which are all related to the supply chain, to generate value
(Heizer et al., 2014). This management process helps correctly address operations decisions. For

This helped the company and its customers when doing business with other regions and people,
specifically dealing with communication problems. Finally, distinguished from the
competitors, Nissan was able to provide a simple product line. The company adopted a build to
stock strategy for just a few SKUs in each model and a build to order strategy for the rest
(Schmid et al., 2013). Management states that this strategy has allowed Nissan to pick and
chose what they wanted in the vehicles, in order to fulfill the needs of their customers, which
increased sales as well. Nissan s customers feel appreciated and that their voice matters too,
which builds loyalty and more sales for the company. Nissan has been able to achieve a
competitive advantage using OM. A competitive advantage is the creation of a unique advantage
over competitors (Heizer et al., 2014), which Nissan has been able to do with the operations
function and keeping a focus on flexibility. In January 2012, Nissan announced that it would
increase the localized production of its cars in the America from approximately 70% to 90% by
2015. This displayed a competitive advantage against other automobile manufacturers following the
impact of a massive earthquake, a nuclear emergency, and a tsunami. Since financial crises in 2008
had caused higher costs, the company used localized production to lower those costs. Nissan has

The Foundation Of Social Philosophy And The Philosophy Of...
III Social Philosophy literally means philosophy of society. Society means general society, the
network of social relations, and not any particular society because the philosophical view points
towards universality. According to Daya Krishna, society is the sort of reality, the truth of existence
of every being in relation with each other. Hence, the subject of social philosophy is the human
society as a whole. As the relations that exist between the objects of nature are different from social
relations, social philosophy does not concern itself with nature and creatures other than man. Mere
coexistence, either among the people of one nation or among the nations themselves, is not enough
for social relations. In the field of social relations, social change and control cause integrative and
disintegrative processes. Both similarity and dissimilarity are to be found in society, though the
former is more important. Unity in diversity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So are all the social sciences. But it is concerned only with their more general aspects not with
each one of them. The scope of social philosophy can be understood by comprehending its main
problem which is to discover the philosophical foundations of the society. Since the beginning of
knowledge, philosophers have been trying to study the philosophical foundations of various aspects
of human society. They have discovered how far the society is eternal and natural and how far it is
changing and artificial. Whereas some thinkers believe that the individual is independent of society,
others emphasize the social nature of the individual. According to Aristotle, man is born social
animal. On the other hand, Jean Jacques Rousseau held that man s social nature is the product of a
social contract. Indian philosophers too have studied the social nature of man as natural. About the
main problem of social philosophy, John Stuart Mackenzie may be quoted

Finally, we give practical recommendations of how using the proposed combined LTE/MIMO
Network with a Multi beam antenna system will increase the system s capacity. This will allow the
designers of wireless networks to obtain maximum data rate, better channel spectral efficiency and
less bit error rate, and as a result, much better service and transmission performances.
1.2 Theoretical and Conceptual Framework
Driving the evolution of wireless broadband technology is customers increasing expectations for
speed, bandwidth, and global access. Customers want more information, such as business and
consumer applications, and entertainment available through their mobile devices, but with greater
speeds. For wireless carriers to achieve greater speeds and pervasive connectedness, their networks
need to start behaving more like landline IP based networks. This line of thinking represents a
fundamental shift in perspective from mobile services to broadband connections for customers and
service providers alike. Enter the fourth generation (4G) wireless network. Unlike earlier wireless
standards, 4G technology is based on TCP/IP, the core protocol of the Internet. TCP/IP enables
wireless networks to deliver higher level services, such as video and multimedia, while supporting
the devices and applications of the future. Verizon Wireless chose LTE over WiMAX as the
technological foundation for its 4G wireless broadband

Simultaneously, her capacity to leam, recognize and distinguish between objects develops. Thus
growth is not sufficient; we need development also.
Similarly, in the case of the Indian economy economic growth is not enough; we need economic

Prior to attending the concert Swingin In The Opera House at Moores Opera House, I had very
little experience attending concerts. Aside from few band performances I attended back in middle
and elementary school, I was never exposed to the world of concerts and performances. Going into
this concert, I was expecting great things since it was my first college concert. To my expectations,
everything seemed perfect when I first walked in. The lighting of the operahouse was set just right
and I could see all the performers lined up in front with their instruments ready to play. There were
many instruments playing during the performances. I noticed saxophones, trumpets, trombones,
and several instruments such as the guitar and piano that kept the rhythm going. There was a
conductor during the performance leading all the performers on when to play. It was apparent that
he did a great job since all the instruments were in sync and played at all the right times. Overall the
audiencewas extremely respectful. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance and it set a great

Communication Problems Within The Workplace Essay
can we overcome obstacles to diversity such as mistrust and tension, stereotyping, and
communication problems in the workplace? Mistrust and tension usually result from lack of
contact and lack of familiarity. These can be overcome, to a large degree, by bringing individuals
together in both formal and informal settings so they learn to better understand and appreciate
members of other groups. Formal training, de signed to identify the causes of mistrust and tension,
can also help in this process. Stereotyping is the perception of others based our own interests,
values, and cultures that distort and block what we see and hear. Formal training ,through the use of
descriptive examples, can be effective in helping individuals identify the root causes of their
stereotyping. In order to be able to change, people must first understand what it is that distorts their
perspectives. Communication problems exist within all racial and cultural groups. Even among
white males of the same age and background, there are opportunities for misunderstandings and

Analysis Of The Rocking Horse Winner By D. H. Lawrence
This story is D. H. Lawrence s strongest indictment of materialism and his strongest
demonstration of the incompatibility of the love of money and the love of human beings. In
Paul s unhappy family, his parents marriage is unsatisfactory. His mother is sexually frustrated:
She had bonny children, yet she felt they had been thrust upon her. Clearly, she feels not
fulfilled, but violated. The story addresses a few of the topics Lawrence is most outstanding for
well, some of them in any event. While it doesn t include the same unequivocal sexuality that
made Lawrence infamous in his day, much like Sons and Lovers, The Rocking Horse Winner
concentrates a considerable amount on the connection between a mother and her child. The
Horse Dealer s Daughter, Lawrence shows the recovery of a customarily English society through
a relationship between the town specialist and a young lady whom he saves from conferring
suicide. In this story, Lawrence surrenders the sentimental style that such a story would
commonly grasp by lighting up the profoundly clashing feelings of the two characters Lawrence
s enthusiasm for mother child connections mostly comes from his association with his own mom,
an informed lady who lamented her marriage to Lawrence s coal excavator father. Quite a bit of
her disappointed desire was exchanged onto her kids, and Lawrence s scholarly capacities were
developed under her care. Much the same as Lawrence s own particular experience growing up, The

The Wife of Bath s Tale (Middle English: the Tale of the Wyf of Bathe) is among the most
understood of Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales. It contribute insight into the role of females
in the Late Middle Ages and was probably of interest to Chaucer himself, for the character is one
of his most developed ones, with her Prologue twice as long as her Tale. He also goes so far as
to describe two sets of clothing for her in his General Prologue. She holds her own among the
bickering pilgrims, and evidence in the manuscripts suggests that although she was first assigned a
different, plainer tale perhaps the one told by the Shipman she received her present tale as her
significance increased. When the Knight is captured, he is condemned to death,... Show more

There have been sons of noble fathers, she argues, who were shameful and villainous, though
they shared the same blood. She does not take offense at the insult, but calmly asks him whether
real gentillesse, or noble character, can be hereditary. Her family may be poor, but real poverty
lies in covetousness, and real riches lie in having little and wanting nothing. Finally, he replies
that he would rather trust her judgment, and he asks her to choose whatever she thinks best.
She offers the knight a choice: either he can have her be ugly but loyal and good, or he can have
her young and fair but also coquettish and unfaithful. The knight ponders in silence. The two
have a long, happy marriage, and the woman becomes completely obedient to her husband.
Because the knight s answer gave the woman what she most desired, the authority to choose for
herself, she becomes both beautiful and good. The Wife of Bath concludes with a plea that
Jesus Christ send all women husbands who are young, meek, and fresh in bed, and the grace to
outlive their husbands. Perhaps John is simple sely or naive, rather than jealous. He says he loves
her more than his life, so maybe John is just blinded to her betrayal because he loves his wife so
much. That might be a better moral to the story. He still cares about the earthly world (his wife)

Mental Illness In Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway
Throughout her life, novelist Virginia Woolf suffered with mental illness, and she ultimately
ended her life at age 59. As art often imitates life, it is not surprising that characters in Woolf s
works also struggle with mental illness. One of her novels, Mrs. Dalloway, recounts a day in the
life of Clarissa Dalloway, a high society woman living in London, and those who run in her circle.
As the novel progresses the reader sees one of the characters, Septimus, struggle with post traumatic
stress disorder brought on by serving in war. At the end of the story, he commits suicide. While
there is no explicit articulation of any other character suffering from mental illness in the novel,
Septimus is not alone. Through her thoughts and actions, we can deduce that Clarissa also
endures mental and emotional suffering. Though Clarissa does not actually attempt to end her
life in the novel, her mental and emotional suffering lead her to exhibit suicidal tendencies. To
prove this, I will examine Clarissa s thoughts and actions from a psychological perspective.
According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the following are
considered warning signs of suicide talking about feeling trapped, and talking about a feeling of
hopelessness or having no reason to live ( Suicidal Behavior ). In Mrs. Dalloway, Clarissa rarely
talks openly about how she is feeling, so the other characters in the novel seldom see Clarissa as
anything but the version of herself she

Race Based Hostility And Bias
Who Polices The Police?
I can t breathe, imagine having to hear your father, son, or brother desperately gasp for air while
murmuring those words, I can t breathe. It s heart wrenching, but now visualize him being
viscously choked from behind by a police officer. The predicament is startling and unseen. Your
loved one has surrendered but the officer has no intention of relinquishing his grip, restricting the
airway, making it incredibly difficult to breathe. Suddenly, the policeofficer forces your loved one
s motionless body to the ground, proceeding by mashing his face into the pavement. Slowly
loosing conscious, he lifelessly lays on the Staten Island concrete. Nobody performs CPR, not even
the ambulance upon their arrival. Your loved one is pronounced dead at the hospital, and the
officer who stole his life walks a free man.
Race based hostility and bias is a major national issue affecting our democracy, and racial hostility
between minorities and the police is a significant societal problem (Police Traffic Stops and Racial
Profiling: Resolving Management, Labor, and Civil Rights Conflicts). These encounters are
becoming far too frequent. Eric Gardner is amongst one of the countless African Americans who
have been racially profiled and murdered by law enforcement. Allegations of excessive force by
police departments across the country continue to populate headlines more than twenty years after
the 1992 Rodney King incident (The Painful Legacy of Rodney King).

Beautiful and sad. A narrative from a father to a son. Initially I thought it was tragic and
heartbreaking. It is a true story and a real reflection on the default of being human. If for loss of
compassion for this side of humanity, I would say in an objective and extremely distant point of
view that it is pathetic.
It is good that I am reading it in my 20s, being a daughter, single and childless.
I truly get the father s anguish and grief. The poems express oscillating feelings that explore the
dimensions of extent of strong human emotion. At the same time I understand the son s
rebelliousness to a parent who insists that he (the father) listens yet strongly occurs as imposing.
Unfortunately, the love desperately being communicated does not go across. The story revolved in
the father s thoughts, dreams and memories without an actual dialogue: an attempt to truly listen
and get his son.
The father s hopes to someday laugh at these poems with his son is a very real illusion that
humans live in by default. Hopes and wishes become so real a reality in the fantasy world of our
minds that who we become and act according to what is taking place is regrettably misaligned to
the future that we say we want to

Aramark Personal Statement
Up until recently I had been pursuing a Bachelor s Degree in Hospitality Management with a
concentration in Meeting and Event Planning. As a senior noncommissioned officer (NCO) I
have had multiple opportunities to plan, coordinate, and execute numerous military ceremonies,
receptions, and specialty events for high ranking Officers and NCO. Through these events I
realized I had a special talent I could use outside of the Army in the civilian workforce. I have
spent considerable time researching the various companies within the hospitality industry
looking for potential jobs that would allow me to build a substantial knowledge base of my
chosen profession. I chose Aramark due to their wide variety of services and I would be able to
sharpen my leadership and managerial skills in the civilian market. Aramark Corporation is one of
the oldest and most experienced companies providing a broad spectrum of customer services
across food, facilities, and uniform services, wherever people work, play, learn and recover (About
us, n.d.). Davre Davidson started this company by selling peanuts out of the back of his Dodge pick

Francis Crick s First Impression
Francis Crick s first impression as per Watson s view, possessed a quick, penetrative mind and
frequently sought after for advice yet not oft valued. (page 3)
Watson also attributed Crick with fast paced and loud converser and possessor of such a boisterous

Watson of opinion that anything that Crick would touch would eventually be regarded as the

my opinion is the start of this coalition between sketchy Watson and intrusive Crick alliance that

Wilkins.
Watson mentions British sense of fair play would not allow Francis Crick to move into the structure

Shawshank Isolation Analysis
After years of being imprisoned with those unfit for society, Brooks has a role and purpose in
his new world of isolation. The viewer is first introduced to Brooks in the prison cafeteria when
Andy; a new inmate to Shawshank, sits across from him. Brooks is shown sitting a few seats
down from the other men, revealing a subtle disconnect from the other inmates. The separation
between Brooks and the men reflects that of the typical isolation that elderly face in society.
However Andy, a new and fearful member of Shawshank sits next to Brooks instead of the other
men his age. The actions of Andy reveal that Brooks is seen as someone who embodies a sense of
comfort and safety in a society of hostility. The of role Brooks has in Shawshank is further

Anthropomorphism in Greek Myth Essay
Paper #1: The role of anthropomorphism in Greek mythology.
God created man in his image, and man, being a gentleman, returned the compliment.
Mark Twain
In his beginning, man was part of nature. He knew little about the causes of natural phenomenon
and certainly knew of no way to control them. This is perhaps the reason for his creation of ritual
and later religion. As man evolved he began to consider the possibilities of gaining some type of
control over his environment. If nature was simply a random set of events ruled only by chaos
than this wouldn t be possible. However, if something or better yet someone was in control, one
could acquire what they desired by pleasing this entity. In the beginning, according to some ... Show

It is obvious therefore that there are, as always seems to be the case, exceptions; however in most
cases the gods are seen as similar to man s image. Aside form the human form, gods speak the
same language as the Greeks and use the same organs to do so, in other words, no telepathy. While
they are able in some cases to reproduce asexually, sexual reproduction seems to be the more often
used method. The asexual reproduction of Gaea produced Uranus, the Mountains, and Pontus. Later
her sexual reproduction with Uranus produced numerous offspring. While the use of sexual
reproduction was human like (obviously not exclusive to humans but still human like), the use of
alternative reproduction was represented in the myths. An example of such an alternative would be
the conception of the Giants and Erinyes by Gaea when the blood of Uranus fell onto her. While
the Greeks seem to have known that human reproduction was related to the sperm entering the
woman, they also seem to think the Gods had ways to bypass this requirement. Going along with
this observation of sperm into woman, they Greeks recognized the woman as the vessel in which
life developed, whether she attributed to this life s origination is another question. However there
are some exceptions to this such as when Zeus eats his pregnant wife, thus becoming the

Analysis Of Tis Pity She s A Whore
We admire disobedience and defiance in the face of the inevitable.
In Tis pity she s a whore John Ford portrays a corrupt Parmesan society in which two siblings are
defying the conventions of the world they are leaving in for a chance for their incesteus love to
exist. From the beginning of the play Giovanni and Annabella s love story line seems to be
following the conventional formula, however we are constantly reminded that it is anything but
alike conventional. Both protagonists are disobeying society s conventions, going against morality,
nature, religion and culture.
Throughout the play Ford is constantly keeping the audience in a state of confusion and uncertainty
of weather we sympathies with the tragic lovers or we are disgusted by the incesteus nature of
their relationship: O, Annabella, I am quite undone: the love of thee, my sister, and the view of thy
immortal beauty hath untuned all harmony both of my rest and life . Ford uses the conventional
love language and imagery, which for a moment tempts the audience to disregard the unnaturalness
of their love and apply the conventional innocence of two lovers on it: On my knees, brother, even
by our mother s dust, I charge you, do not betray me to your mirth or hate; love me or kill me,
brother. Annabella and Giovanni announce their love to the audience giving wedding like vows to
each other, however the audience cannot overlook that Giovanni and Annabella demonstrate the
awareness of the forbidden nature of

The Nasa Space Flight Center Essay
The Goddard Space Flight Center states that there are 2,271 artificial satellites currently in space
orbiting the earth. An artificial satellite is a hand made machine that orbits the planet earth to help
in many different ways in communications, documenting information, sending and receiving
signals. A satelliteis a moon, planet, or a machine that orbit a planet or a star. There are many types
of satellites and each one is used for different reasons. Some satellites are used to send and receive
television signals. Some other satellites are used in communications by making it possible to send
and receive signals from phones, fax, internet and computers to people all over the world. Other
satellites are used in forecasting by giving information about the earth s weather to scientists. Also,
there is another type of satellites that take accurate picture of earth to show the environmental
situation such as resources, pollution and statistics of crops and water (NOAA, 2014). Satellites
improved a lot in the daily life uses such as weather forecasting, documenting information,
communication and positioning systems.
The idea of satellites The development of the invention started in 1952 when the International
Council of Scientific Unions decided to start a project named International Geophysical Year which
started on July1, 1957 and ended on December31, 1958. They put in considerations to launch the
artificial satellite in this year for mapping earth s surface (Verma, 2012).

A Brief Note On The Hip Hop Industry Essay
YG, an inner city black rapper within the hip hop industry, is a Blood gang member who was born
and raised in Compton, California. Pitbull, on the other hand, is a Cuban hip hop artist, born in
Miami, Florida, and is been more famously recognized within the music industry, in terms of fame
and financial success. While these two artists come from opposite ends of the country, they do share
similarities within their music and performance of hip hop culture, in that they both utilize
problematic themes like misogyny, sexual objectification, and violence towards women in their
lyrics and music videos, which are notorious subjects within hip hop music. They also pair this with
rhetoric that glamorizes and fetishizes partying, drugs, and alcohol, as well, performing in flashy
ensemble and jewelry as a display of wealth and class. YG and Pitbull also express pride within
their music for their backgrounds and where they come from, as Pitbull often incorporates Spanish
within his lyrics and even discusses Cuban politics in his song Give Me Everything. This is an
important reference because Cuba is also very much much involved with hip hop culture, especially
in American hip hop culture, by artists like Pitbull, who using body posturing and gesture evocative
of U.S. rap performances, their lyrics are sung in a distinctly Cuban Spanish vernacular over
rhythms often incorporating Afro Cuban musical elements (Neal Forman, 2012, pg. 302). YG
utilizes this same theme as he often

Forgive and Forget in The Poisonwood Bible by Nathan...
People are taught to forgive and forget in order to be happy, afterall living with a grudge can being
a serious damper in ones life.
It may be easy to forgive a friend, or even a stranger depending on the situation, but what if the
person that had to be forgiven was themselves?
In the Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, the story is told through multiple points of view.
Each member of the Price family is noticeably different, and each have their own inner demons. As
each character is unlike, the way they handle their guilt, and search for forgiveness are also
different. Some characters like Orleanna Price are forgiven by the end of the novel, and others,

Most people, when they hear the term electroconvulsive therapy have the assumption that it is
used only to cure depression, but this is a common misunderstanding. It is generally less often
used for other disorders, but it can be helpful to people with schizophrenia, especially people
who are catatonic, which is a state of muscular rigidity and stupor ( Catatonia ). A definition of
schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder with symptoms that may include delusions
hallucinations, trouble with thinking and concentration, and a lack of motivation. The disorder
affects slightly more than one percent of the population and is found to run in families (Scutti).
Many people also describe it as hearing multiple voices or sounds in your head. Sometimes the
sounds are vague and are more like a rustle or a beep. If there are voices, sometimes the words
are inaudible, but when a voice is recognizable, it s like being surrounded by a gang of bullies
said Tanya Luhrman, a Stanford anthropologist (Standen). All of these quotes and examples portray
how miserable it must feel to have to endure schizophrenia. To people suffering from
schizophrenia, it seems that ETC would be a very appealing escape from the reality of their

things alike that contain nicotine. This was approved by the FDA (Food and Drug
Administration). Also, I agree that advertising of devices or products that deal with vapes and e
cigs should be prohibited. Vaping should be for the use of breaking traditional cigarettesmoking
habits and not displayed to our youth so openly. This study really opened my eyes to a new
prospective on vaping and the use of e cigarettes. The use of vapes should be taken cautiously and

People doing the Charleston, woman daring society by dressing in heels and dresses, and people creating exciting new cartoons. Betty Boop, Felix the Cat, Bugs Bunny, and of course Mickey Mouse were all popular cartoons in the 1920s. Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney and was arguably the most famous cartoon character in the 20s. Disney created Mickey Mouse and produced the first full length animated movie (Schickel). During this time one of the greatest cartoon icons was created by Walt Disney after his distributor stole his first character and it led to the creation of the most recognizable cartoon character, Mickey Mouse. Before Walt Disney s creation of Mickey Mouse he went through some struggles. He did not always own his own business. He worked with a small group of men, who abandon him (Watts, 25). They abandon him due to the fact the business was falling apart and running out of money. After being abandoned, he sought out for work as a cartoon artist for two newspaper companies but was turned down both times. • 4. Venezuel A Powerful Member State Nevertheless, Venezuela is a very powerful member state because of its size, its highly industrialized society, and a GPD comparable to that of Argentina and Brazil. It also has the second largest export sector of all Latin American countries and the largest oil and gas reserves in Latin America. These factors equip Venezuelawith sufficient power to affect the Mercosur agenda and rival the influence of Argentina and Brazil. The Argentinian government, led by President Cristina Kirchner, has sympathized with Chavez s vision for Mercosur. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These two countries governments are left leaning, sympathetic to Venezuela s politics of resistance, and wish to promote a regional integration that involves regional resistance to American hegemony. They share with Venezuela a Bolivarian vision of Latin American unity and power. Thus, in the near future, the majority of Mercosur members will likely share and promote an anti neo liberal agenda rather than a free trade one. b.Challenges to Accomplishing Venezuela s New Vision for Mercosur The prospect of achieving Mercosur s progressive new vision is fraught with challenges as much as it is inspired by hope. United States interests will continue to resist losing their economic and political grip in the region. This will not be the only obstacle facing the success of this new vision. The sheer magnitude of the project will require a serious commitment, and Latin America s diversity of political beliefs and cultures could prove to be more marked than its homogeneity. For example, there are two Latin Americas at the moment. The first is a bloc of countries include Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Ecuador. They mistrust globalization, resists neo liberalism, and seek to give the state a large role in the economy. The second bloc, including Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Colombia, embraces free trade and free markets and has a closer connection with Washington. Since 1995 Michelle has been giving back to charities close to her heart. Through her efforts of philanthropy during her 28 years in the State of Florida, she worked in conjunction with local and regional non profit task forces dealing directly with hunger and homelessness of displaced children throughout South Florida and the islands of the Caribbean. Michelle launched a Food Pantry within the Safe House and offices of Children s Home Society, the largest counseling facility and adoption agency in the state of Florida. This was a pivotal and extremely influential move as now case workers going out to make site visits were able to identify situations where the only issue for these families was being under resourced. Because needs are usually delayed due to processing constraints, many families could go without immediately needed resources such as food and baby items for days. • 7. Effects Of Amendment 2 On The State Florida Has anyone done any research on what the effects Amendment 2 would have on the state Florida? Well the opposition clearly did not do any research and the politicians used smooth talking fallacies to blind side the voters. It is time to see the holes in their stance on medical marijuana. The Smokescreen as defined by the author Joe Cardona from the Miami Herald, is the lack of liability Amendment 2 brought to the table when it hit the polls in October. His meaning behind this is because a medical marijuana user would not be receiving a prescription from a trained medical physician. Instead, they would be receiving a referral for a license to receive treatment and they would have it forever. Also as part of Joe Cardona s Smokescreen theory, because the fact that Amendment 2 is a constitutional amendment that there would have been no way to tweak or amended it, like a legislative law would. So regulating the consumption of medical marijuana would be impossible. (Cardona, 2014) Unfortunately he is not the only one to interpret Amendment 2 this way. Dr. Rafael Miguel, director of the Sarasota Memorial Institute for Advanced Medicine s Pain Medicine Program and representatives for Drug Free America. He states that You don t get refills, you get it forever. There s no regulation on consumption. (Gillin, 2014) These bold statements were completely wrong and very misinforming. • 8. The Big Five Personality Traits Of the Big Five personality traits, I scored highest on neuroticism. I compared myself to my friend. My friend scored highest on extraversion. I scored lowest on extraversion, whereas my friend scored lowest on agreeableness. I was somewhat surprised at my results that my friend received. However, I was not surprised by my results. I am a typically anxious person, so I knew I would probably score high on neuroticism. However, I thought my friend would score higher on agreeableness. I don t agree with some of these because I believe that my friend falls a little higher on the agreeableness, while I believe we both fall a little higher on the openness scale. I also believe there is more to a person s personality than that. There are several ways in which the uniqueness of each individual can be portrayed by just a few traits. A lot of times, trait psychologists use the Big Five to measure someone s personality just because it s a simple, convenient way to do it. Another reason psychologists often use the Big Five to measure personality traits is because it seems to capture every possible trait that there could be in a person s personality. According to the book, it s easier to use the Big Five because it s like a radio: would you rather have dozens of radio stations with decent sound or only a few radio stations with amazing sound quality? Of course, most people would want the option of having a few radio stations with the amazing sound quality. Therefore, trait ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Vimy Ridge History The 100th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge is an important part of Canada 150 celebrations and a defining event in the history of our nation. Although Confederation occurred 50 years earlier, it has been said that in 1917, Canada was transformed from colony to nation on the slopes of Vimy Ridge. Less well recognized is the important service of Canadas legal professionals in that part of our history. This year will be different. In April, Canadians will commemorate the uncommon service and sacrifice of the soldiers, sailors, and airmen who left their families and occupations to serve in WWI generally and at Vimy in particular. For the first time, in recognition of the remarkable service and leadership of Canada s legal professionals, the Chief Justice of Canada and the Judge Advocate General of Canada are invited to participate formally in the Vimy commemoration at the national cenotaph in Ottawa. This recognition has been well earned. The most senior Canadian military officer ever to die in combat is Malcolm Mercer, a lawyer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The sun was just coming up to awaken the sleeping sailors and to greet the early birds of the brave me on the dock and ships in the Pearl Harbor of Oahu. This is how the American people view this table turning day for the war. In the 21st Century, the United States of America think of Japan as an ally, our partner. Japan and the United States were always friendly competitors ( ). But those who have been in that Harbor and those who survived will never forget what happened that day. But that changed as quickly as the bombs were falling down on the innocent and brave sailors. Nobody will understand except those who witnessed or heard on the radio or TV in their living room. That day the United States had taken a major hit and the strong American soul had been tested roughly ( ). That day something broke in the innocent land of the United States of America ( ). It forged a super power. Isolationist and interventionist impulses that had always divided America converged into a White hot fury that could not be taken away or even close to burning out anytime soon ( ). Kate Grenville said, her mother s grandfather was a poor man from London and sentenced to be sent to Australia because of stealing timbers in the early nineteenth century. After arriving to Sidney, he thought presumingly that he finally had his own land. The thing makes Grenville curious is that the land was supposed to belong to aboriginal people but how her grandfather could make a living on this land. It s important for her to know about if her grandfather dealt with this problem by gun or even gave the exchange to aboriginal people. • 14. Moral Values In Beowulf Ever since a young age, children have been told stories with a clear moral lesson. These lessons are used explicitly to show basic principles that a growing mind needs. However, as one ages the morals become less obvious, but they remain just as influential. Examples of these less direct morals are seen by young adults in academic analyzation and in their personal and social lives through popular movies or music. Marvel s Spider Man: Homecoming and Anglo Saxon poem, Beowulf, exist to help readers understand a variety of moralprinciples needed to become a respectable citizen and a hero. The writers of the screenplay and epic portray the main character as a tragic hero to show audiencethat one may have the confidence to attempt a task, but they must be reasonable enough when they are not capable to do so. In the film, Spider Man/Peter Parker takes on crimes that he thinks he is ready for, but is not trained enough to do so. When he is not able to complete the task, his mistake leads to almost costing the lives of thousands of people and him losing his suit. (Spider Man: Homecoming). The screenplay writers use this scene to show how our hero relied on the wrong factors and did not take in account that he was not ready to complete his goal, representing society s tendency to eagerly jump at opportunities that they are not yet ready for. In the epic, Beowulf , the author writes, ... Beowulf rose, still brave, still strong, and with his shield at his side, and a mail shirt on his breast, strode calmly, confidently, toward the tower... (Lines 511 513). The author wrote this quote to emphasize to readers how confident Beowulf was upon entering this battle despite his older age. This event causing his untimely death gives the impression to the audience that going into a situation unprepared sometimes leads to irreversible outcome. In addition to encouraging audience members to understand their limits, the two works also show the importance of asking for help. The main characters in both plots are given opportunities to achieve their goals by already respected superiors, proving to the audience that it is okay to require help. In the Second Act, Davoren s roommate Seumas Shield s makes a comment in reference to the war that is continuing to rage on: The country is gone mad...It s the civilians that suffer...Shot in the back to save the British Empire, an shot in the breast to save the soul of Ireland (Pg. 40) Shield s continues on past this line on his belief that this battle for nationalism is a much more dangerous environment for the average citizen than it is for the forces actually fighting. The shot in the back by the British obviously is illustrating the ill fated relationship between the two sides, as the British do not care about the Irish and who they are, referring to them British as cowards for shooting behind them. As for the breast shot to save Ireland, it is important he notes the shot in the breast, right in the chest. The set a rules and a language has and the way it should be used is known as prescriptive grammar and is taught in this manner because it allows people to be understood clearly in their writings and speeches. The opposite of prescriptive grammar is known as descriptive grammar and is concerned with how a language is used. Bill Bryson, a novelists on English, history, and science describes the difference and usefulness of prescriptive grammar and descriptive grammar in his article titled, Good English and Bad . Prescriptive grammar is important to learn because it has specific rules we follow; therefore, we are able to communicate ideas, news, and information in a universal english language that is understood by everyone. The education I received for English was not advanced; however, it did teach me the importance of standardized writing to show meaning. At a young age, I was told there was a proper way to write and speak English. I was taught the many rules such as: the difference between singular verbs, pluralverbs, may, can, well good and when to properly use them. Prescriptive grammar rules seemed meaningless when I first learned them; however, as I grew older I realized the importance of properly speaking or writing English. I discovered, when I applied prescriptive grammar my thoughts and intentions became more clear. For example, may I use the restroom is used to indicate I want to be excused from a situation so I take care of my body. When I say, can I use the restroom it implies something is either wrong with the restroom or something is wrong with my body. It is awkward that one word is capable of affecting a sentence so greatly; however, according to descriptive grammar a person will be able to understand my intentions regardless of which sentence I use. My point is not that we should ignore descriptive grammar, but we should all learn grammar with specific rules so we are able to derive a greater meaning. If everyone is taught English in a particular way with specific rules then there would be less misinterpretations and we would be able to explain ourselves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Finally, we give practical recommendations of how using the proposed combined LTE/MIMO Network with a Multi beam antenna system will increase the system s capacity. This will allow the designers of wireless networks to obtain maximum data rate, better channel spectral efficiency and less bit error rate, and as a result, much better service and transmission performances. 1.2 Theoretical and Conceptual Framework Driving the evolution of wireless broadband technology is customers increasing expectations for speed, bandwidth, and global access. Customers want more information, such as business and consumer applications, and entertainment available through their mobile devices, but with greater speeds. For wireless carriers to achieve greater speeds and pervasive connectedness, their networks need to start behaving more like landline IP based networks. This line of thinking represents a fundamental shift in perspective from mobile services to broadband connections for customers and service providers alike. Enter the fourth generation (4G) wireless network. Unlike earlier wireless standards, 4G technology is based on TCP/IP, the core protocol of the Internet. TCP/IP enables wireless networks to deliver higher level services, such as video and multimedia, while supporting the devices and applications of the future. Verizon Wireless chose LTE over WiMAX as the technological foundation for its 4G wireless broadband ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Aside from few band performances I attended back in middle and elementary school, I was never exposed to the world of concerts and performances. Going into this concert, I was expecting great things since it was my first college concert. To my expectations, everything seemed perfect when I first walked in. The lighting of the operahouse was set just right and I could see all the performers lined up in front with their instruments ready to play. There were many instruments playing during the performances. I noticed saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and several instruments such as the guitar and piano that kept the rhythm going. There was a conductor during the performance leading all the performers on when to play. It was apparent that he did a great job since all the instruments were in sync and played at all the right times. Overall the audiencewas extremely respectful. Mistrust and tension usually result from lack of contact and lack of familiarity. These can be overcome, to a large degree, by bringing individuals together in both formal and informal settings so they learn to better understand and appreciate members of other groups. Formal training, de signed to identify the causes of mistrust and tension, can also help in this process. Stereotyping is the perception of others based our own interests, values, and cultures that distort and block what we see and hear. Formal training ,through the use of descriptive examples, can be effective in helping individuals identify the root causes of their stereotyping. In order to be able to change, people must first understand what it is that distorts their perspectives. Communication problems exist within all racial and cultural groups. Even among white males of the same age and background, there are opportunities for misunderstandings and confusion. • 40. Analysis Of The Rocking Horse Winner By D. H. Lawrence This story is D. H. Lawrence s strongest indictment of materialism and his strongest demonstration of the incompatibility of the love of money and the love of human beings. In Paul s unhappy family, his parents marriage is unsatisfactory. His mother is sexually frustrated: She had bonny children, yet she felt they had been thrust upon her. Clearly, she feels not fulfilled, but violated. The story addresses a few of the topics Lawrence is most outstanding for well, some of them in any event. While it doesn t include the same unequivocal sexuality that made Lawrence infamous in his day, much like Sons and Lovers, The Rocking Horse Winner concentrates a considerable amount on the connection between a mother and her child. The Horse Dealer s Daughter, Lawrence shows the recovery of a customarily English society through a relationship between the town specialist and a young lady whom he saves from conferring suicide. In this story, Lawrence surrenders the sentimental style that such a story would commonly grasp by lighting up the profoundly clashing feelings of the two characters Lawrence s enthusiasm for mother child connections mostly comes from his association with his own mom, an informed lady who lamented her marriage to Lawrence s coal excavator father. Quite a bit of her disappointed desire was exchanged onto her kids, and Lawrence s scholarly capacities were developed under her care. Examining The Role Of Women In Chaucer s Canterbury Tales The Wife of Bath s Tale (Middle English: the Tale of the Wyf of Bathe) is among the most understood of Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales. It contribute insight into the role of females in the Late Middle Ages and was probably of interest to Chaucer himself, for the character is one of his most developed ones, with her Prologue twice as long as her Tale. He also goes so far as to describe two sets of clothing for her in his General Prologue. She holds her own among the bickering pilgrims, and evidence in the manuscripts suggests that although she was first assigned a different, plainer tale perhaps the one told by the Shipman she received her present tale as her significance increased. She does not take offense at the insult, but calmly asks him whether real gentillesse, or noble character, can be hereditary. Her family may be poor, but real poverty lies in covetousness, and real riches lie in having little and wanting nothing. Finally, he replies that he would rather trust her judgment, and he asks her to choose whatever she thinks best. She offers the knight a choice: either he can have her be ugly but loyal and good, or he can have her young and fair but also coquettish and unfaithful. The knight ponders in silence. The two have a long, happy marriage, and the woman becomes completely obedient to her husband. Because the knight s answer gave the woman what she most desired, the authority to choose for herself, she becomes both beautiful and good. The Wife of Bath concludes with a plea that Jesus Christ send all women husbands who are young, meek, and fresh in bed, and the grace to outlive their husbands. As art often imitates life, it is not surprising that characters in Woolf s works also struggle with mental illness. One of her novels, Mrs. Dalloway, recounts a day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway, a high society woman living in London, and those who run in her circle. As the novel progresses the reader sees one of the characters, Septimus, struggle with post traumatic stress disorder brought on by serving in war. At the end of the story, he commits suicide. While there is no explicit articulation of any other character suffering from mental illness in the novel, Septimus is not alone. Through her thoughts and actions, we can deduce that Clarissa also endures mental and emotional suffering. Though Clarissa does not actually attempt to end her life in the novel, her mental and emotional suffering lead her to exhibit suicidal tendencies. To prove this, I will examine Clarissa s thoughts and actions from a psychological perspective. According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the following are considered warning signs of suicide talking about feeling trapped, and talking about a feeling of hopelessness or having no reason to live ( Suicidal Behavior ). In Mrs. Dalloway, Clarissa rarely talks openly about how she is feeling, so the other characters in the novel seldom see Clarissa as anything but the version of herself she ... This is perhaps the reason for his creation of ritual and later religion. As man evolved he began to consider the possibilities of gaining some type of control over his environment. Later her sexual reproduction with Uranus produced numerous offspring. While the use of sexual reproduction was human like (obviously not exclusive to humans but still human like), the use of alternative reproduction was represented in the myths. An example of such an alternative would be the conception of the Giants and Erinyes by Gaea when the blood of Uranus fell onto her. While the Greeks seem to have known that human reproduction was related to the sperm entering the woman, they also seem to think the Gods had ways to bypass this requirement. In Tis pity she s a whore John Ford portrays a corrupt Parmesan society in which two siblings are defying the conventions of the world they are leaving in for a chance for their incesteus love to exist. From the beginning of the play Giovanni and Annabella s love story line seems to be following the conventional formula, however we are constantly reminded that it is anything but alike conventional. Both protagonists are disobeying society s conventions, going against morality, nature, religion and culture. Ford uses the conventional love language and imagery, which for a moment tempts the audience to disregard the unnaturalness of their love and apply the conventional innocence of two lovers on it: On my knees, brother, even by our mother s dust, I charge you, do not betray me to your mirth or hate; love me or kill me, brother.
