Essay On Stereotypes Of Boys
Many things and many problems appear to all people in all ages but when we say boys we talk about
our future and the main treasure, and here we talk about boys will be boys which refer to one thing.
we should treat boys according to their ages. Some boys find themselves depressed and want to
commit crimes, why? this is a result of not being able to live their childhood in societies which treat
them differently from girls. They are oppressed to act like real men not real boys; Subsequently we
find them hiding their emotions, lying to themselves and keeping silent. There are roles for family,
school and community to get rid off all the oppressive stereotypes associated with boys so we can
discover their merits and demerits. As one s family is usually closer, families should start by treating
boys with more kindness. Schools should recognise their abilities and communities should facilitates
their talents.
Causes:

They then start feeling isolated. This isolation evolves to depression. Depressed boys can commit
crimes, do strange acts, and rebel against all people whom they believe have wronged them.
Especially their parents.
Solutions:
The point here is how we can treat boys better. At first, we should acknowledge their needs, let them
express themselves, and we should let them live their ages. They can cry, they can love, and they can
hate. Schools should take extra steps in student care. Starting with its teachers, Teachers should
interact with boys and keep an eye on them if they showed aggression or violence. And if a boy
misbehaved, communication is key. The boy s family should be informed and a follow up from the
school is obligatory. Also communities should establish programs about how to communicate with
boys in different

Sons Of Liberty Essay
The Sons of Liberty was an organization that was created in the Thirteen American Colonies. The
secret group was formed to protect the rights of the colonists and to fight taxation by the British

formed out of a number of smaller protest groups in 1765.The first group was formed out of the Loyal

Paul Revere was summoned by Dr.Joseph Warren of Boston and given the task of riding to Lexington,

1766 when Parliament decided to repeal the Stamp Act,but later the British put a tax on tea.The
controversy over the tea tax was made worse by the passing of the Tea Act of 1773, which allowed for
tea sold by British companies to be shipped directly to the colonies and sold at a discount. As the tax
on tea was still in place, this act was a subtle way to persuade colonists to comply with the tax.The
colonists were not pleased. The Sons of Liberty groups across the colonies responded by chasing away
the tea ships in New York and Philadelphia or abandoning the cargo on the docks in Charlestown.A
series of meetings were held, during the meetings a series of proposals and counter proposals were
explored but ultimately, on December 16th, Hutchinson refused to send the ships back to England and
ordered the colonists to stop blocking the ships from landing. The Sons of Liberty had

Globalization Of The United States
The United States is often defined as a capitalist economy, a concept created by a German economist
and social theorist Karl Marx, to define a system in which a minor group of persons, who regulate
large quantities of capital, create the most important economic decisions. Sometimes capitalism is
known as a global system of abuse because at times capitalism is centered on violence and
submission. Capitalism puts enormous pressure on society to make capital. In the United States have
seen a lot of fraud through the years, as well as other high profile crimes in which the fraud formed
part. The most feared crime by companies in developed countries is fraud, even compared to other
crimes such as theft and sabotage. Far from being under ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ponzi fooled thousands of investors, he promised huge earnings on international reply coupons, which
could be acquired in one country and used for postage stamps in another country. The income would
be the difference in price between the two countries. He converted a millionaire in a few months, but
the scam took him down. Some parties started to investigate the accounts because there weren t
enough international coupons for his investment strategy to function. Actually, Ponzi was paying his
investors with newer investors money, staying with a huge quantity. In a few months, Ponzi acquired
$20 million, equivalent to $222 million in current dollar values, and six banks crumbled. On the other
hand, Bernie Madoff, a respectable financier, used the famous Ponzi scheme, which attracts investors
in by warranting high revenues. As mention before, Ponzi schemes consisted in using money from
new investors to pay off the guaranteed returns to the older investors. This makes the investment look
valid and profitable, even that was not generating any profit. In Madoff s case, things began to
complicate after clients demanded a total of $7 billion back in returns. Unfortunately for Bernie, he
did not have enough money to give back to his investors. According to CNNMoney, he only made $20
billion, even though he cheated investors out of $65 billion.
According to the author George Robb in his article Before Madoff and Ponzi: 19th Century

A Career In Civic Engagement
After high school I struggled through numerous retail jobs. As fate would have it however, my wife
would introduce me to someone who worked with the Chicago Public Library. I was able to land a job
as a CyberNavigator, assisting patrons with technological issues and promoting digital literacy. During
my time as a CyberNavigator, I worked in numerous underprivileged communities where I spent most
of my time helping patrons find jobs online or applying for financial assistance through the
government websites. Connecting with numerous organizations in the community, I established my
library as a center in the community where patrons could actively come to find assistance on a number
of digital literacy issues. I finally felt a sense of pride in my work and it prepared me for my future

Competency Differences of ADN and BSN Nursing is a self motivated and multifaceted discipline,
one that requires skilled, knowledgeable, and self sufficient practitioners. The roots of nursing are

Cinematography Research Paper
The Importance of Cinematography
Without studying the details of film, one may ask what is cinematography. Cinematography is the art
of making motion pictures. There are many features that go on in making a film. A cinematographer
has a big role in making the film come together with certain camera movements and lighting elements.
Cinematography is one of the most important aspects of film. People should be more interested in
cinematography because there are so many intricate details that go into making a film special and that
is because of and camera angles and movements, color, and different types of shots.
When breaking down cinematography, a cinematographer should first analyze what he/she wants to do
with the the different shots, scenes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these shots include, extreme close up (ECU), medium shot (MS), establishing shot (ES), and
long shot (LS). Extreme close up is what a person may assume it is. It is used in filmmaking to focus
on a particular detail of a subject. In many cases, ECUs are very intimate and are best used cautiously.
Medium shot, also known as waist shot, is also what it sounds like. It is a shot from a medium distance
and includes the body from the knees or waist up. An establishing shot may be one that people aren t
as familiar with. An establishing shot is a usually long shot in film or video used at the beginning of a
sequence to establish an overview of the scene that follows (Merriam Webster). One other shot a
cinematographer should consider using is a long shot. A LS is a shot from a great distance, which
makes people seem to appear more like shapes then people. This type of shot is used to emphasize the
environment and setting of a particular

Attaining Hiv Epidemic Control By Stopping Hiv
ATTAINING HIV EPIDEMIC CONTROL BY STOPPING HIV TRANSIMISSION TO WOMEN
AND YOUG GIRL
In Rwanda, HIV prevalence has dropped to less than 3% since mid 1990s. The country has made
considerable development in regard to its commitments to reduce the incidence of HIV in the general
population, decrease morbidity and mortality among PLHIV , and the provision of equal health care
services to both people infected and affected by HIV and those who are not.
However, reports are still highlighting that many young people, especially girls, remain at risk of
contracting the virus (Unicef.org.2016), and that there is a considerable gender inequity in term of
HIV prevention and treatment.
For the purpose of this paper, we will suggest a program that aim at reducing the health disparities that
disadvantage the young girls and women and expose them to contracting HIV disease.
We believe that community involvement and engagement are the first key steps when it comes to
addressing public health issues in the community. As Haber stated it, it is a way to build greater
knowledge of local issues and increase consensus around interventions (Haber, 2011).
To design this project we will follow the steps recommended steps in the community guide toolkit for
developing an intervention and for developing strategic and action plan.

Gym Class
I tightly gripped the blue, plastic, slippery, twig (hockey stick) in my sweaty, sticky hands when I
swung the tiny, orange, plastic puck into the goal. The opposing team s goalie, with sweat dripping
down his face and fear in his eyes, gave me the dirtiest look anyone could have ever imagined. I soon
realized, I had just won the hockey game during gym class. All the confused stares and silent but
noticeable whispers lead me to question what was all the hot gossip. I achingly trudged down the
toxic, smelly stairwell which led me to the reeking, strong smell of sweat in the girl s locker room.
Sounds of giggling, and perfume being spritzed; the loud slamming of lockers as the girls finish

Hannah! Did you by any chance bring an extra pair of gym shorts today? Kaelyn asked me with a

No Kaelyn... why would I bring two pairs of gym shorts? It s not like I m going to wet myself or
anything, I stated. I crushed her small sense of hope.
I m freaking out because I forgot my shorts, and all I have are these black sweatpants that I am
currently wearing. I ll sweat way too much if I wear these for gym! To be honest, I m already sweating
buckets, said Kaelyn as she was twirling her wavy brunette hair and biting her already short nails
nervously.
The door keeps frantically slamming shut as the overly hyper girls leave the dull looking locker room.
Let s go guys! shouted a petite, quiet girl.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we re coming Ashlyn. Kaelyn and I both said as we started moseying towards the

You, in the red shorts and Reeboks, get up here! And you in the pink and purple horizontal striped

The Style Of Naturalism In White Fang By Jack London
The aim of life was meat. Life itself was meat. Life lived on life. There were the eater and the eaten.
The law was: EAT OR BE EATEN. This quote from author Jack London s novel, White Fang,
portrays the style of naturalism and the theme of natural selection and survival of the fittest. Jack
London was a naturalist writer. He chose a style and theory of representation based on the accurate
depiction of detail; and he held a viewpoint that everything arises from natural properties and causes.
Natural selection is the process in nature by which, according to Darwin s theory of evolution,
organisms that are better adapted to their environment tend to survive longer and pass on their genetic
characteristics or the survival of the fittest. London s fiction work, White Fang, takes a deeper look
into the savagery of the wild, the cruelty of man, and the chance of new beginnings. White Fang is
considered by many to be one of the greatest coming of age novels ever written.
The setting of White Fang, takes place in Yukon Territory and ends in California. The majority of the
novel is set in what London calls the North. This area is a section of Canada buttressed against Alaska.
The historical significance of this area is that the story occurs during the 1890 s Klondike Gold Rush.
This provides a balancing point between the savagery of the wilderness and civilization, by examining
the violent world of animals and the equally violent world of humans. Jack London wrote White Fang
in the Third person. Third person is a method of storytelling in which the narrator is aware of the
feelings and thoughts of all the characters. Jack London especially used the Third person method,
when tracking the life of the character, White Fang, and aiding the reader to know the wolf dog s
thoughts and feelings.
White Fang is the central character and the protagonist of the story. His mother is, Kiche, and is
known as she wolf. Kiche is half wolf and half dog. She escaped from and Indian camp during a
famine. She mated with One Eye, a full wolf, and White Fang came about. White Fang starts his life
in the wild. He becomes more domesticated as the book goes along but still struggles to be the fittest
and surviving among nature, the

How Has Volleyball Changed Over The Years
Volleyball has been played for many years by many people. The sport was invented in 1895 by
William G. Morgan. To emphasize, the sports of basketball, baseball, tennis, and hand ball. The first
game of volleyball was played at Springfield College on July 7th, 1896. As a result, volleyball is
played by over 50 million people each year in over 60 countries. The game was first called
Mintonette, but was soon changed to volleyball. For example, the players seemed to be volleying the
ball back and forth over the net. All in all, the sport has had a tremendous outcome in the way it has
been played for many years (History of Volleyball).
Women s uniforms have not changed as much as the sport has. In the 70 s women s volleyball
uniforms were form fitting but not tight. For example, they wore mid length shorts and form fitting
shirts. The uniforms soon transferred in to what was called bun huggers . In addition, they resembled a
bikini brief that were a higher cut and allowed for full range of motion. The spandex that are worn
today are chosen for comfort and practicality. As a result, this allows for freedom of motion ... Show

Persuasive Speech For Your Address In Our School
Superintendent Crouse, Loveland Administration, and Loveland School Board Members, just last year
you vied for us to obtain our own tennis courts, which I use every week. As a result of this, I hold very
high regards and respect for you, and the fact that you care for all your students, and want to do all
you can to improve our school lives. For this, I know you are welcome to new ideas, and I hope to be
able to share mine without giving you the wrong impression, as I have no intent to offend you in any
way. My focus as of this moment is to change the course scheduling for classes, so that we could have
different weeks for different subjects, but still maintain a four block day. The idea came to me from
my French class, on account of the fact that the French actually do this at their schools.
In further details, it would mean that for two weeks we, the student population, would have half of our
classes, as long as there are no complications which I will explain later. The next two weeks, however,
we will have the other half of our classes, excluding special cases, again. As I know, there are some
flaws, as there are in every good idea. One such problem we could, no would run into, would have to
be if a student were to take 2 classes that have to be taken in a consecutive order. To solve this
problem, all that would have to be done is a bit of extra tampering with their scheduling, which would
happen regardless of the new changes for some. Said student would just have to revert back to block
scheduling, and switch classes half way through the year as we do now. In result, the student would
get the classes they want, and the new schedule for their remaining classes. Another problem that
some may argue could arise is the fact of tests, quizzes, homework, or finals, because we can t all have
time turners. Taking two weeks off could potentially affect some grades, but if you think about it, units
really only take about two weeks to explain and finish their complementary tests, and homework
wouldn t overlap unless it were some long term project. The reason these flaws would be worth the
extra time and effort to get through would be the extra focus students would gain. I find that I do
better at the beginning of the

What Is The Relationship Between Parental And Child...
Parental and child relationships play important roles in both parties. It is vital that they have a good
relationship. When people do not have a good relationship with their parents or vice versa, they
usually strive to develop that good relationship as they continue through life. However, if they do not
have a good relationship they are always trying to fill that void with other people or material objects.
For example, in a father/daughter relationship where there is always conflict, the daughter is often
searching ways to obtain the acknowledgement of her father. Whether it be from praise of something
well done or disappointment of poor behavior. At times, it is easier to have a better mother/daughter
relationship than a father/daughter. Being the same gender helps the relationship because they can
relate and have been through some of the same experiences, but can cause conflict between them due
to both of them thinking they know more in certain situations. It is important to ... Show more content

Should The Government Put A Cap On Contingency Fees
Contingency fees are fixed as a percentage, usually between 25 and 40 percent of a client s recovery in
certain types of lawsuits such as car accidents, work accidents or personal injury lawsuits (2012).
Contingency fees are set as percentage of the damages awarded to the client, an attorney receive his
fees only if the case is won. Why I think that the government should put a cap on contingency fees at
20 percent of the award: I think that the government should put a 20 percent cap on contingency fees
involving automobile accidents and personal injury lawsuits, because the cases are drawn out for at
least 1 year, then when the client receives their settlement the money has to go toward hospital bills,
legal fees and other personal expenses.

Reflective Essay On Homeless People
Kami!! My girl!! I m gooood. I took care of my business for where I m staying. But I got denied for
disability for the arthritis in my knees. So I m gonna go to rehab, and they re gonna hook me up with a
job. My reaction was much more enthusiastic than Wilmer s laidback go with the flow stance. Upon
asking what kind of a job he would like, Wilmer surprised me by saying that he actually took college
classes where he studied gardening. He then proceeded to show me more of his prized pictures of his
gardening. One Facebook picture posted by the HOPE Center praised Wilmer for his work in planting
jalapeños in front of the building. A woman commented on the picture saying, Wilmer is a very
knowledgeable and skilled horticulturalist! This made me realize how Wilmer defies the stereotype
that the world often puts on homeless people as being worthless failures who can t make a meaningful
contribution to society. I tried to dig deeper into why Wilmer is so passionate about gardening, but all
I could get out of him was the simply reply of, My jalapeños ...I love jalapeños...See my jalapeños? I
cut them myself. During the time that I conversated with Wilmer as he ate his pancakes, he continued
to multitask with taking beads smaller than a grain of rice and somehow sewing them into a pair of

Don t Criticize What You Can t Understand

Mr. Heidt

Bob Dylan Don t criticize what you can t understand, said Bob Dylan, one of the most influential
figures in folk music and music culture. As a protest singer growing up in a racially tense time
affected by the Vietnam War, he was heavily influenced by his background and the social issues of his
time. He rose to prominence from Blowin in the Wind (which became an enduring anthem) and many
other songs that influenced the young generation of the 1960s. Bob Dylan s interest for music started
from a young age. Born on May 24, 1941 as Robert Allen Zimmerman, he started writing poems at
age ten (Jarnow). By the time he was a teenager, he had taught himself to play the guitar, the piano,
and the harmonica, and participated in bands in high school. After that, he enrolled at the University of
Minnesota, dropping out when he became more involved in the music scene than his schoolwork. He
moved to New York City, where he went to Greenwich Village and met Woody Guthrie, one of his
music idols. He performed as Bob Dylan in nightclubs and coffee houses, gaining respect and
recognition from his peers. He released his self titled album, Bob Dylan, in 1962, followed by The
Freewheelin Bob Dylan in 1963. His second album contained protest songs such as Blowin in the
Wind, which became an enduring anthem of the 1960s. By the time he released his third album, he

and the producer of the good will pay, splitting the costs of the tax and leveling up with society s.
Fees and regulations are similar to taxes. The government charge all firms the same fee and to set the
same standard for all firms. This will achieve the same level of emission reduction at a lower cost for
all firms and firms will have an incentive to reduce their emissions.
There are also solutions to a positive externality. That is to get the decision maker to internalize the
external effect. The difference with this and the negative externality is that with the negative
externality they would have to try to get the decision maker to see higher costs and with the positive
externality the government needs to somehow make the decision more appealing to the private
decision maker.
A great example of this is getting a degree; it might not be as important or beneficial to you to get a
certain degree but the benefits that you could give the society with that degree can be significant, so
the government creates scholarships and incentives to motivate you and make it easier for you to get
an education and ultimately be part of the working society.
There are 3 ways of target the allocation problem of externalities, I talked about regulations,

Mansfield Crisis Manual Analysis
The Mansfield Crisis manual was drafted in the 2012 2013 school year, prior to this draft the school
used a generic modified crisis plan that was created by J. Berra Engineering, in 1999. The current plan
has not been updated since the 2012 2013 school year; as there are still several emergency contacts
listed that no longer work in the district. Although, the layout of the manual is easily followed and the
information is pertinent, this is the first time I have ever seen this particular manual, or any emergency
manual for the district. There is a shortened version of the procedures for fire, tornado, intruder, and
earthquake drills located in the teacher and student handbooks. However, the handbooks are not as in
depth as the actual manual, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under people crisis are procedures for medical emergencies, death or suicide of students or staff
members, intruder and hostage situations, bomb threats, a bomb threat phone call checklist, field trip
accidents, bus accident, and a procedure for possible anthrax laden mail. Under physical plant failure
emergency, or building problems, are the procedures for loss of heat, loss of air conditioning, loss of
electricity loss of telephone, broken pipes, hazardous material release, fire, and explosion. Under the
natural disasters section there are procedures for severe weather, tornado, lightning, earthquake, flood,
wildfire, and other external hazards. Each procedure outlines steps that should be taken and who
should be contacted after everyone s safety is ensured. I find it interesting that the crisis manual has an
anthrax policy, I would have never thought of adding that particular protocol. Protocols for what to do
if caught outside in a lightning storm, procedures for student and staff suicide, and a strategy
specifically for hazardous material removal are also not things I would have thought of to add to the
crisis manual, in this aspect I think the crisis team went above the normal criteria. I also think that the
school went beyond industry standards by adding locations of first aid supplies and AED devices as
well as attaching a bomb threat

No Parent Child Relationship With Second Temple...
Six out of nineteen texts held topoi providing a possible parent child relationship with Second Temple
apocalyptic work. Further consideration reduced the number to three. Of the texts that remain, The
Ascent of Enmeduranki, the Divine Nomination of Thutmose II, and Plato s Republic (614b), ranked
the strongest. These three sources follow here, respectively.
The Ascent of Enmeduranki
Although no parent child relationship occurred in this text, scholars often posit it as source material
for 1 Enoch; perhaps, a relationship exists through the lens of divinely ordained journeys:
Enmeduranki [king of Sippar], the beloved of Anu, Enlil [and Ea]. Šamaš and Adad [brought him in]

24:1 38:3, and 67 as the final ascension seen in Gen. 5:24). Alongside these similarities, however, are
general distinctions as noted under Topos of Secrecy, and specific distinctions concerning divinely
ordained Journeys.
Enmeduranki s journey authority derives from his presence among deity. By comparison, Enoch s
author wove together multiple authorities: divine presence begins a journey, but includes authority
from cosmology, secrecy, and righteousness. Furthermore, using 1 Enoch 14:8 as an example, the
author provides both setting and method in which Enoch ascends; yet, a close reading shows no
description of the anabasis in Enmeduranki text. These descriptions, however, are present in the
Divine Nomination of Thutmose III.
The Divine Nomination of Thutmose III
The Divine Nomination of Thutmose III concerns his legitimacy as ruler, providing a picture of the
Egyptian enthronement rites:
[He opened for] me the doors of heaven; he spread open for me the portals of its horizon. I flew up to
the sky as a divine falcon, that I might see his mysterious form which is in heaven, that I might adore

Rhetorical Analysis Of `` What The Hell Is Water `` By...
Famed American author David Foster Wallace gave a commencement speech to Kenyon College s
graduating class of 2005. Most commencement speeches focus on graduates accomplishments as well
as give general life advice. Wallace s presentation follows this pattern at first, congratulating the
students on getting their diplomas. However, most of his speech is dedicated to the idea of thinking
beyond ourselves. Throughout the speech, Wallace argues we should live with empathy through his
use of humor and appeals to the audience s empathy. The introduction quickly introduces the
humorous tone found throughout the piece with his use of anecdotes. In the opening anecdote, two
young fish fail to recognize that they are surrounded by water. By juxtaposing the academic setting
with the fish exclaiming what the hell is water? the speaker creates humor with the fish s unexpected
colloquialism. Furthermore, Wallace connects the irony of the fish anecdote with the that of most
adults, who are unable to see what really matters in life just as the fish can not see the water that
encompasses them. The speaker follows this story with another about an atheist and a theist arguing
about the existence of God. By refusing to see the other s perspective, Wallace shows the humor in
their rigid belief systems. The speaker also pokes fun at his liberal arts audience by asking why they
accept both men s position without questioning their rationale for doing so. By doing so, Wallace
displays audience

Characteristics of Business Leadership
Characteristics of Business Leadership
Steve Jobs, the visionary co founder of Apple who helped usher in the era of personal computers and
then led a cultural transformation in the way music, movies and mobile communications were
experienced in the digital age. Jobs mastered digital technology and capitalized on his intuitive
marketing sense. He largely came to define the personal computer industry and an array of digital
consumer and entertainment businesses centered on the Internet. Coming on the scene just as
computing began to move beyond the walls of research laboratories and corporations in the 1970s, Mr.
Jobs saw that computing was becoming personal, that it could do more than crunch numbers and solve
scientific and business problems and that it could even be a force for social and economic change. And
at a time when hobbyist computers were boxy wooden affairs with metal chassis, he designed a
machine that was a sleek, low slung plastic package intended for the den or the kitchen. He was
offering not just products but a digital lifestyle (Apple s Visionary Redefined Digital Age, 2011).
Steve Jobs was raised in a neighborhood of engineers who worked on electronics and other gadgets in
their garages on weekends. This fashioned his interest in the field as he grew up. When he was 13, he
met one the most important people in his life, Stephen Wozniak. Wozniak was an electronics wiz kid,
and, like Steve, was a persistent prankster. Five years later, Steve Jobs enrolled

Laurent Clerc Pioneer Teacher
1785 1869
Laurent Clerc was born in LaBalme, France, on Dec. 26 1785. His father was Mayor of the town and
the family could boast of a long line of magistrates in the Clerc lineage. At the age of one, the infant
fell from a kitchen chair by accident into a nearby fireplace. He was burned on one side of his face and
a fever left him totally deaf. He had uncle also named Laurent Clerc, who heard about the school for
the deaf in Paris. When he was twelve years old, his uncle brought him to Paris and took him in the
Royal Institution for the Deaf. In 1816, his eight year as a teacher, an event happened which changed
the course of his life.

History of Laurent Clerc
There are a lot of firsts that Laurent Clerc accomplished. He was the first deaf teacher in America, the
first deaf person to appear before U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C. to talk about establishing public
schools for the deaf, and the first deaf person to get an honorary M.A. degree from Trinity College.
Clerc was born to a prominent family in the village of LaBalme, France. His father was a notary by
profession and a mayor of the village for 34 years. His mother was the daughter of another notary.
Males in Clercs family held the office of Tubelion (a Royal Commissary) in that village for over 300
years. Clercs family believes that he became deaf after falling from his highchair into the kitchen fire,
but he might have been born deaf. His right cheek was burned from the accident hence the name sign
of brushing two fingers across cheek.
Clerc lived through the French Revolution, witnessing Napoleons rise and fall. In fact, he lived in
England for a while to escape from the turmoil.
Clerc had once been considered to help start a school for the deaf in Russia but was passed over
because he was deaf. He agreed to coe to America for only three years for three reasons: 1) to help
organize a new school for the deaf; 2) to be the first experienced teacher; and 3) to teach others how to
teach deaf. However, he married one of his beautiful, dark eyed, dark haired, slender,

Essay on Benefits of a Tax on High Fat Foods
Descartes In this essay, I will explain Descartes central method of doubt to investigate the truth of
things, in which he wanted to be critical and generated four rules that he would use as guidance. With
his method, he suspends judgment and prejudices to obtain better results. Descartes argues that despite
syllogisms has truth in logic, it still has something defective, which is predominantly the multiplicity
of rules. These rules might bring immorality and confusion, thus prevent him for arriving at the
knowledge of things because it might bring more doubt than truth.
At the beginning of the creation of his method, Descartes looks for a method of reason that would be
free of the defects of logic, however, he still sought his method ... Show more content on

Following this model, he develops his method based on his reason alone without the interference from
others or his prejudices that could affect his reasoning. He claims that the interference of more than
one person, in the creation of something causes a less perfect and less organized thing compare to
things done by only one person. For instance, he exemplifies this with his education; he considers his
education has a deficiency because all the sciences taught to him were from different men from
different eras.
Moreover, in order for Descartes method to discover a great way for seeking the truth of things, he
based his method on the geometrical style, which entails clarity and certainty of things. In geometry,
Descartes finds the notion of clear and distinct ideas, which are considered clear and distinct because
they are simple and unquestionable truths, and also they could be easy understood. In addition to it, he
finds this method to be promising because he comprehends geometrical figures to be absolutely
evident, not probabilistic. The fact that Descartes was looking for a method that will help him to find
the truth of things encourages him to look for a method with the properties of logic, mathematics and
geometry, but obviously excluding their defects. He just set out four rules rather than a large number
of rules: 1) to never accept anything as true unless it is so clear and distinctly, meaning there is no
minimum doubt; 2) to reduce every single complex

The Controversy Between Science And Pseudoscience
Climate deniers are accused of practicing pseudoscience, as are intelligent design creationists,
astrologers, UFOlogists, parapsychologists, practitioners of alternative medicine, and often anyone
who strays far from the scientific mainstream. The boundary problem between science and
pseudoscience, in fact, is notoriously fraught with definitional disagreements because the categories
are too broad and fuzzy on the edges, and the term pseudoscience is subject to adjectival abuse against
any claim one happens to dislike for any reason. In his 2010 book Nonsense on Stilts (University of
Chicago Press), philosopher of science Massimo Pigliucci concedes that there is no litmus test,
because the boundaries separating science, nonscience, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

That is, does the revolutionary new idea generate any interest on the part of working scientists for
adoption in their research programs, produce any new lines of research, lead to any new discoveries,
or influence any existing hypotheses, models, paradigms or world

pseudoscience.
We can demarcate science from pseudoscience less by what science is and more by what scientists do.
Science is a set of methods aimed at testing hypotheses and building theories. If a community of
scientists actively adopts a new idea and if that idea then spreads through the field and is incorporated
into research that produces useful knowledge reflected in presentations, publications, and especially
new lines of inquiry and research, chances are it is science.
This demarcation criterion of usefulness has the advantage of being bottom up instead of top down,
egalitarian instead of elitist, nondiscriminatory instead of prejudicial. Let science consumers in the
marketplace of ideas determine what constitutes good science, starting with the scientists themselves
and filtering through the editors, educators and readers. As for potential consumers of pseudo
science,
that s what skeptics are for, but as always, caveat

The Effects Of Hiv On Female Sex Workers
Introduction
Since the first cases of HIV were detected among female sex workers (FSW) in Chennai, India in
1986, dramatic progress has been made in the last three decades in the battle against HIV both in India
and globally (Mayer, 2011). Despite this progress, new infections continue to occur in 2012, there
were an estimated 2.3 million persons newly infected with HIV globally (UNAIDS, 2013). Many new
infections often occur within the context of a serodiscordant relationship an infected partner in a
relationship transmits HIV to the uninfected partner. Over the past thirty years, several interventions
have been identified to prevent HIV transmission from HIV infected persons to uninfected persons in
serodiscordant relationships. Yet, transmissions continue to occur. Interventions such as voluntary
counseling and testing, condom promotion, and risk reduction counseling are very effective in
preventing transmission among serodiscordant couples but are underutilized in India despite their
widespread availability (Kumar et al., 2011). Interventions such as pre risk exposure prophylaxis
(PrEP) and universal antiretroviral therapy (irrespective of CD4 count) have been newly identified but
face several challenges that impede their widespread implementation in India (Kumar et al., 2011).
Serodiscordant couples in India also face certain unique socio cultural issues such as marital and
fertility pressure (Gupta et al., 2010).

interpret and describe narrative research in the context of information systems does not exist and is

the role of ICT in socio economic development; please tell me the story of your life. The goal is to
provide the storytellers with flexibility and choice to narrate the story in a way that is most
comfortable to them.
According to Riessman (1993), there are five steps to conducting and analyzing narratives:
Attending. This deals with the notion of how a storyteller reflects, remembers, and recollects the
primary experience . It is important to pay attention to how a storyteller makes sense of an experience,
the context of the experience itself, and his/her selectivity of the experience.
Telling. The performance of a personal narrative . A storyteller sequences and orders the events of the
experience in a particular way. Meaning is constructed by the storyteller about his/her experience at
this level. The narrative method allows for flexibility in how the story is communicated. While oral
tradition is the oldest form, other expressions such as biography, story, novel, essay or even a drawing
could communicate how people interpret a phenomenon.
Transcribing. This step refers to choice of putting words into text/language, a fixation of action for
interpretation. This step does not necessarily mean literal textual

Health Dangers: The other health conditions linked to gum disease and plaque include heart disease,

How It Happens: Although scientists are still researching the topic, it appears that the problem begins
with harmful bacteria present in the mouth. The bacteria escape into the bloodstream, where they are
transported to internal organs. That is where other very serious health problems may begin to develop.
Inflammation: One link between all of these health issues and poor oral health might be inflammation.
Inflammation manifests as a result of periodontitis. Inflammation is also associated with such
conditions as rheumatoid arthritis and heart disease.
Diabetes: Another point worth noting is that diabetes could be a precursor to gum disease. People who

The Pros And Cons Of Egoism
Egoism is the theory that one ought to do what is in one s self interest. One is to maximize their own
self interest and potential. One cannot prosper if they contain their own interests and needs in order to
satisfy the interests of others. Once morality is obtained by one protecting their personal interests and

that would aid in survival is good and anything that hampers survival is evil. There are two types of
egoism, psychological or descriptive egoism and ethical or normative egoism. Psychological egoism is
that humans are only driven by self interest. For example if one were to help another human being, the

Thomas Hobbes argues that egoism is valid through a sense of morality and that an individual will end
up being altruistic through his views of egoism. Ayn Rand another famous philosopher states that one
can only be either altruistic or egoistic. One cannot be both. Ayn Rand believes an individual has value
and that the only philosophy that states that an individual has self worth is egoism. Ethical egoism is
often based off the fact that psychological egoism is true and this entails that we always act
egotistically and cannot prevent ourselves from acting this way. An example of this would be if one
were to donate to a charity that helps little kids. In terms of psychological egoism the individual didn t
donate money to the charity to help kids, that would altruistic, one did it because one wanted to.

The Mass Media Influence On Society
The mass media greatly influence the behavior and thoughts of citizens and policymakers, and has a
great impact on policy agenda. The mass media includes television, radio, newspapers, magazines, the
Internet, and other means of popular communication. There are two kinds of media; print media,
which includes newspapers and magazines, and electronic media, which includes television, radio, and
the Internet. There are various positives and negatives of the media and its relation to the public and to
policymaking.
The media allow for Americans to have access to new information, sometimes at a relatively low price
or for free. The mass media provide information for all Americans, regardless of socioeconomic
status; the mass media influence all people, not just the elites. This is important because all Americans
can gain knowledge about what is occurring in the United States government, as well as around the
world. The media can reach all Americans, but can also target specific audiences and demographics.
An example of this is when a magazine focuses on a specific topic or area of interest. Because of the
Internet and television News channels which report news 24/7, Americans have a constant flow of
new information, which they can access at any given time.
The media are also utilized by politicians in campaigns to gain the attention of potential voters, as well
as to spread their platforms and ideas. Individual voters have a much greater sense of who the
candidates are due to

Descartes Discourse Method Part 1 Essay
In this assignment I will give you, the reader my opinion concerning the positions of Descartes,
Discourse Method, Part 1, and Discourse Method, Part 4, his basic conclusion which ends with
validation of something much grander. In reviewing Descartes, Part 1, it s my belief he is describing
reason, which is instilled in each individual in society. If a person has a good reason doesn t mean they
always make the right decisions. Either way they make their decisions, no matter what their opinions
are. It s what makes us different from one another. If a person selects something that is different, and
shares their reasons why, it s all about conveying their opinion. When people don t believe in what
another person is conveying, concerning their reasons why they came to their conclusion they have the
right not to agree. This is why we have discussions, even if their reasons are wrong; it s all about
bringing their opinions to the attention of someone else. In their discussion one person s reason seems
better than the other person; it doesn t make them smarter; it might be their views are better. I don t
believe in one person being better than another. When a person takes time to research a matter, they
might be prepared to share their reasons why their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe Descartes is describing the distinction between idea and matter in a metaphysical
consciousness and the physical body a conformity known as Cartesian dualism (PAM MS, 2017).
Descartes comes to the conclusion of his own belief the existence of God. He would go on to discuss
this argument many times; he believes he knows who God is. God is a being of infinite perfection.
Descartes states he was taught God is more perfect than him; he tries to articulate his way of thinking

Women From The Book Women Hollering Creek
hese women from the book Women Hollering Creek , were abused and taken advantage of their own
men. Sandra Cisneros explores the stories Never marry a mexican , Woman Hollering Creek , and One

became careless when they met their own men. These girls have lost their respect for themselves.
They have destroyed their own self, for the guy who never really loves them. No one stood up for their

A woman who helped men cheat to their own wife was her hobby. She was a woman who is having

own eyes, how a man would cheat to his own wife. For her these men taught her that a man can never
stay loyal to his wife. Men will cheat for as long as they wanted to. I was the one who convinced you

Princess Diana Impact Of Beauty
Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day
someone might do the same for you (Diana, Princess of Wales). Princess Diana was one of the world s
most beloved and recognizable figures. Diana exemplified beauty and style, yet she was more than a
pretty face as she changed the way the public looks at modern monarchies through her humanitarian
efforts and down to earth approach.
Diana s life seemed like a charmed one. She was the daughter of nobility chosen to marry the Prince
of England. Diana, Princess of Wales, 1961 97, was wife of Charles, Prince of Wales, heir to the
British throne. The daughter of the 8th Earl Spencer, Lady Diana Frances Spencer was a kindergarten
teacher in London before her 1981 marriage to Charles (Princess of Wales, Diana). Diana was chosen
specifically for her youth and beauty so that she could produce attractive and healthy offspring for the
British monarchy. They needed a male heir and a spare. She delivered on her end of the deal when
William was born in 1982, and Harry, in 1994 (Princess of Wales, Diana). Diana was supposed to do
whatever she was told by the royal family, and produce sons. Her personal happiness was not a factor.
Her husband had an ongoing affair with his long time love Camilla Parker Bowles during most of his
marriage to Diana. They fought constantly, and it didn t help that she often stole the spotlight with her
effortless grace and beauty.

School Lunch Proposal

Ms.Nikniai
ERWC Period 2

School Lunch Proposal Over the years of being in school, we have all come to the agreement that
school lunch has never really met our expectations of being tasteful and healthy. This country has a
huge problem with children having bad eating habits, but what are we really doing to change the
situation in a positive way? Adults and children suffer from deadly diseases on a daily basis, due to
poor diet. School lunches at your local elementary, middle, and high school may not be healthy and
nutritious as it seems and the taste does not make it any better. We should want our children to strive
in everything, not just academics. School lunch programs needs to focus on giving the children ...

We all know that junk food is a thumbs down to a human s diet, so why do we continue encourage our
children into eating the foods that gives them everything but a healthier lifestyle. Eating the fatty
foods that majority of the people eat on a daily basis can lead to multiple diseases, such as diabetes,
obesity, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and even cancer. The article on children and
obesity states, Obese youth are more likely to have risk factors for cardiovascular disease, such as
high cholesterol or high blood pressure. (Childhood Obesity Facts. Par.6) This specifically explains
how the youth has a higher chance of becoming obese due to their bad eating habits. Another article
about children being overweight stated, However, the emotional damage accruing to being overweight
in adolescence can be considerable and long lasting. (Healthy Children. Par.3) This information shows
how having a poor diet can lead to negative and dark

Deforestation Regulations Of The Tropics Essay
Deforestation Regulations in the Tropics
48 football fields. Not monthly, not even daily. 48 football fields worth of tropical rainforest is cut
down every single minute. This adds up to about 46 58 thousand square miles per year. 58 thousand
square miles of the already narrow belt of tropical forests stretching around the equator. These are
forests of amazing diversity and productivity. Forests that may cover only 7% of the land s surface
here on Earth, but harbor more than half of all species and play a massive part in maintaining the
carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere and regulating our climate. Advocates for the preservation of
these forests state that deforestation has devastating consequences including social conflict, extinction
of plants and animals, and dangerous climate changes, and that local deforestation in these forests are
causing damages that aren t just local, but global. While opponents claim that tropical forests are
destined to diminish as it is necessary for the growing human population to clear the natural landscape
to make room for farms and pastures, to harvest timber for construction and fuel, to build roads and
urban areas and to develop the economies of the often poor countries that surround the equator. Recent
research has however repeatedly proven these statements wrong. Showing how the human population
have no desperate need to cut down these forests, and that we are in fact more prone to make our own
situation worse when we do.

Essay On Becoming A Recording Engineer
George Martin was the Beatles recording engineer during their 8 year career. George was the man who
gave life to much of the beatles music. He recorded them, mixed them, and mastered them. He floated
his own ideas into the music while simultaneously keeping it theirs. He is often considered the fifth
beatle due to his role in their music, as he rightly should. The career of a recording engineer is one
where a person can be creative and exercise his passion for music. In the Recording Engineers line of
work, there are two forms of employment. You can either work in a large studio or work out of your
home. Working in a Studio has its pros as well as its cons just like working at home does. A studio job
will mean you will have more work than your self employed counterpart and more Engineers to work
with. This is due to the fact that if the studio you are working for is a reputable studio, then you will
receive the fruits of said reputation. Though, Working in a studio means you will work full time, or in
some cases overtime, to meet a deadline. Most will also work on holidays and weekends for the same
reason. A self employed Engineer will often set his own hours, but work less frequently. When they
work, it is most often out of their own home studio. This is why most self employed engineers ...

industry is expected to grow by about 9% over the next decade with about 117,200 jobs(Summary).
More important than numbers, though, is the prospect of an ever changing music industry. As
previously mentioned, if you work in a studio, you will be able to work with other brilliant engineers.
You will also get to work with some brilliant artists as well as some of the newest technology in the

  • 2. Essay On Stereotypes Of Boys Many things and many problems appear to all people in all ages but when we say boys we talk about our future and the main treasure, and here we talk about boys will be boys which refer to one thing. we should treat boys according to their ages. Some boys find themselves depressed and want to commit crimes, why? this is a result of not being able to live their childhood in societies which treat them differently from girls. They are oppressed to act like real men not real boys; Subsequently we find them hiding their emotions, lying to themselves and keeping silent. There are roles for family, school and community to get rid off all the oppressive stereotypes associated with boys so we can discover their merits and demerits. As one s family is usually closer, families should start by treating boys with more kindness. Schools should recognise their abilities and communities should facilitates their talents. Depressed boys can commit crimes, do strange acts, and rebel against all people whom they believe have wronged them. Especially their parents. Solutions: The point here is how we can treat boys better. At first, we should acknowledge their needs, let them express themselves, and we should let them live their ages. They can cry, they can love, and they can hate. Schools should take extra steps in student care. Starting with its teachers, Teachers should interact with boys and keep an eye on them if they showed aggression or violence. And if a boy misbehaved, communication is key. The boy s family should be informed and a follow up from the school is obligatory. Also communities should establish programs about how to communicate with boys in different ... As the tax on tea was still in place, this act was a subtle way to persuade colonists to comply with the tax.The colonists were not pleased. The Sons of Liberty groups across the colonies responded by chasing away the tea ships in New York and Philadelphia or abandoning the cargo on the docks in Charlestown.A series of meetings were held, during the meetings a series of proposals and counter proposals were explored but ultimately, on December 16th, Hutchinson refused to send the ships back to England and ordered the colonists to stop blocking the ships from landing. Globalization Of The United States The United States is often defined as a capitalist economy, a concept created by a German economist and social theorist Karl Marx, to define a system in which a minor group of persons, who regulate large quantities of capital, create the most important economic decisions. Ponzi fooled thousands of investors, he promised huge earnings on international reply coupons, which could be acquired in one country and used for postage stamps in another country. The income would be the difference in price between the two countries. He converted a millionaire in a few months, but the scam took him down. Some parties started to investigate the accounts because there weren t enough international coupons for his investment strategy to function. Actually, Ponzi was paying his investors with newer investors money, staying with a huge quantity. In a few months, Ponzi acquired $20 million, equivalent to $222 million in current dollar values, and six banks crumbled. On the other hand, Bernie Madoff, a respectable financier, used the famous Ponzi scheme, which attracts investors in by warranting high revenues. As mention before, Ponzi schemes consisted in using money from new investors to pay off the guaranteed returns to the older investors. This makes the investment look valid and profitable, even that was not generating any profit. In Madoff s case, things began to complicate after clients demanded a total of $7 billion back in returns. Unfortunately for Bernie, he did not have enough money to give back to his investors. Attaining Hiv Epidemic Control By Stopping Hiv ATTAINING HIV EPIDEMIC CONTROL BY STOPPING HIV TRANSIMISSION TO WOMEN AND YOUG GIRL In Rwanda, HIV prevalence has dropped to less than 3% since mid 1990s. The country has made considerable development in regard to its commitments to reduce the incidence of HIV in the general population, decrease morbidity and mortality among PLHIV , and the provision of equal health care services to both people infected and affected by HIV and those who are not. However, reports are still highlighting that many young people, especially girls, remain at risk of contracting the virus (Unicef.org.2016), and that there is a considerable gender inequity in term of HIV prevention and treatment. For the purpose of this paper, we will suggest a program that aim at reducing the health disparities that disadvantage the young girls and women and expose them to contracting HIV disease. We believe that community involvement and engagement are the first key steps when it comes to addressing public health issues in the community. As Haber stated it, it is a way to build greater knowledge of local issues and increase consensus around interventions (Haber, 2011). To design this project we will follow the steps recommended steps in the community guide toolkit for developing an intervention and for developing strategic and action plan. 1. • 10. The Style Of Naturalism In White Fang By Jack London The aim of life was meat. Life itself was meat. Life lived on life. There were the eater and the eaten. The law was: EAT OR BE EATEN. This quote from author Jack London s novel, White Fang, portrays the style of naturalism and the theme of natural selection and survival of the fittest. Jack London was a naturalist writer. He chose a style and theory of representation based on the accurate depiction of detail; and he held a viewpoint that everything arises from natural properties and causes. Natural selection is the process in nature by which, according to Darwin s theory of evolution, organisms that are better adapted to their environment tend to survive longer and pass on their genetic characteristics or the survival of the fittest. London s fiction work, White Fang, takes a deeper look into the savagery of the wild, the cruelty of man, and the chance of new beginnings. White Fang is considered by many to be one of the greatest coming of age novels ever written. The setting of White Fang, takes place in Yukon Territory and ends in California. The majority of the novel is set in what London calls the North. This area is a section of Canada buttressed against Alaska. The historical significance of this area is that the story occurs during the 1890 s Klondike Gold Rush. This provides a balancing point between the savagery of the wilderness and civilization, by examining the violent world of animals and the equally violent world of humans. Jack London wrote White Fang in the Third person. Third person is a method of storytelling in which the narrator is aware of the feelings and thoughts of all the characters. Jack London especially used the Third person method, when tracking the life of the character, White Fang, and aiding the reader to know the wolf dog s thoughts and feelings. White Fang is the central character and the protagonist of the story. His mother is, Kiche, and is known as she wolf. Kiche is half wolf and half dog. She escaped from and Indian camp during a famine. She mated with One Eye, a full wolf, and White Fang came about. White Fang starts his life in the wild. • 13. Persuasive Speech For Your Address In Our School Superintendent Crouse, Loveland Administration, and Loveland School Board Members, just last year you vied for us to obtain our own tennis courts, which I use every week. As a result of this, I hold very high regards and respect for you, and the fact that you care for all your students, and want to do all you can to improve our school lives. For this, I know you are welcome to new ideas, and I hope to be able to share mine without giving you the wrong impression, as I have no intent to offend you in any way. My focus as of this moment is to change the course scheduling for classes, so that we could have different weeks for different subjects, but still maintain a four block day. The idea came to me from my French class, on account of the fact that the French actually do this at their schools. In further details, it would mean that for two weeks we, the student population, would have half of our classes, as long as there are no complications which I will explain later. The next two weeks, however, we will have the other half of our classes, excluding special cases, again. As I know, there are some flaws, as there are in every good idea. One such problem we could, no would run into, would have to be if a student were to take 2 classes that have to be taken in a consecutive order. To solve this problem, all that would have to be done is a bit of extra tampering with their scheduling, which would happen regardless of the new changes for some. Said student would just have to revert back to block scheduling, and switch classes half way through the year as we do now. In result, the student would get the classes they want, and the new schedule for their remaining classes. Another problem that some may argue could arise is the fact of tests, quizzes, homework, or finals, because we can t all have time turners. Taking two weeks off could potentially affect some grades, but if you think about it, units really only take about two weeks to explain and finish their complementary tests, and homework wouldn t overlap unless it were some long term project. The reason these flaws would be worth the extra time and effort to get through would be the extra focus students would gain. I find that I do better at the beginning of the ... When people do not have a good relationship with their parents or vice versa, they usually strive to develop that good relationship as they continue through life. However, if they do not have a good relationship they are always trying to fill that void with other people or material objects. For example, in a father/daughter relationship where there is always conflict, the daughter is often searching ways to obtain the acknowledgement of her father. Whether it be from praise of something well done or disappointment of poor behavior. At times, it is easier to have a better mother/daughter relationship than a father/daughter. Should The Government Put A Cap On Contingency Fees Contingency fees are fixed as a percentage, usually between 25 and 40 percent of a client s recovery in certain types of lawsuits such as car accidents, work accidents or personal injury lawsuits (2012). Why I think that the government should put a cap on contingency fees at 20 percent of the award: I think that the government should put a 20 percent cap on contingency fees involving automobile accidents and personal injury lawsuits, because the cases are drawn out for at least 1 year, then when the client receives their settlement the money has to go toward hospital bills, legal fees and other personal expenses. ... So I m gonna go to rehab, and they re gonna hook me up with a job. My reaction was much more enthusiastic than Wilmer s laidback go with the flow stance. Upon asking what kind of a job he would like, Wilmer surprised me by saying that he actually took college classes where he studied gardening. He then proceeded to show me more of his prized pictures of his gardening. One Facebook picture posted by the HOPE Center praised Wilmer for his work in planting jalapeños in front of the building. A woman commented on the picture saying, Wilmer is a very knowledgeable and skilled horticulturalist! This made me realize how Wilmer defies the stereotype that the world often puts on homeless people as being worthless failures who can t make a meaningful contribution to society. I tried to dig deeper into why Wilmer is so passionate about gardening, but all I could get out of him was the simply reply of, My jalapeños ...I love jalapeños...See my jalapeños? I cut them myself. During the time that I conversated with Wilmer as he ate his pancakes, he continued to multitask with taking beads smaller than a grain of rice and somehow sewing them into a pair of earrings to sell in order to keep his cell phone running. When I asked him how he became such a skilled artist, his reply actually led to deeper revelations. I ended up in prison and they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Like you can see there can be either costs, or benefits that affect those third parties. When it is a cost that is imposed on third parties, it is called a negative externality; negative externalities occur when a decision or activity imposes costs on anyone that is not involved in the making of the decision, that is if a decision imposes any kind of external cost, which are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the government gets involved and taxes goods and services, it raises revenue for the government, decreases the quantity of goods produced and consumed and therefore, both consumers and the producer of the good will pay, splitting the costs of the tax and leveling up with society s. Fees and regulations are similar to taxes. The government charge all firms the same fee and to set the same standard for all firms. This will achieve the same level of emission reduction at a lower cost for all firms and firms will have an incentive to reduce their emissions. There are also solutions to a positive externality. That is to get the decision maker to internalize the external effect. The difference with this and the negative externality is that with the negative externality they would have to try to get the decision maker to see higher costs and with the positive externality the government needs to somehow make the decision more appealing to the private decision maker. A great example of this is getting a degree; it might not be as important or beneficial to you to get a certain degree but the benefits that you could give the society with that degree can be significant, so the government creates scholarships and incentives to motivate you and make it easier for you to get an education and ultimately be part of the working society. Most commencement speeches focus on graduates accomplishments as well as give general life advice. Wallace s presentation follows this pattern at first, congratulating the students on getting their diplomas. However, most of his speech is dedicated to the idea of thinking beyond ourselves. Throughout the speech, Wallace argues we should live with empathy through his use of humor and appeals to the audience s empathy. The introduction quickly introduces the humorous tone found throughout the piece with his use of anecdotes. In the opening anecdote, two young fish fail to recognize that they are surrounded by water. By juxtaposing the academic setting with the fish exclaiming what the hell is water? the speaker creates humor with the fish s unexpected colloquialism. Furthermore, Wallace connects the irony of the fish anecdote with the that of most adults, who are unable to see what really matters in life just as the fish can not see the water that encompasses them. The speaker follows this story with another about an atheist and a theist arguing about the existence of God. By refusing to see the other s perspective, Wallace shows the humor in their rigid belief systems. The speaker also pokes fun at his liberal arts audience by asking why they accept both men s position without questioning their rationale for doing so. By doing so, Wallace displays audience ... He largely came to define the personal computer industry and an array of digital consumer and entertainment businesses centered on the Internet. Coming on the scene just as computing began to move beyond the walls of research laboratories and corporations in the 1970s, Mr. Jobs saw that computing was becoming personal, that it could do more than crunch numbers and solve scientific and business problems and that it could even be a force for social and economic change. And at a time when hobbyist computers were boxy wooden affairs with metal chassis, he designed a machine that was a sleek, low slung plastic package intended for the den or the kitchen. He was offering not just products but a digital lifestyle (Apple s Visionary Redefined Digital Age, 2011). Steve Jobs was raised in a neighborhood of engineers who worked on electronics and other gadgets in their garages on weekends. This fashioned his interest in the field as he grew up. Descartes argues that despite syllogisms has truth in logic, it still has something defective, which is predominantly the multiplicity of rules. These rules might bring immorality and confusion, thus prevent him for arriving at the knowledge of things because it might bring more doubt than truth. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following this model, he develops his method based on his reason alone without the interference from others or his prejudices that could affect his reasoning. He claims that the interference of more than one person, in the creation of something causes a less perfect and less organized thing compare to things done by only one person. For instance, he exemplifies this with his education; he considers his education has a deficiency because all the sciences taught to him were from different men from different eras. Moreover, in order for Descartes method to discover a great way for seeking the truth of things, he based his method on the geometrical style, which entails clarity and certainty of things. In geometry, Descartes finds the notion of clear and distinct ideas, which are considered clear and distinct because they are simple and unquestionable truths, and also they could be easy understood. In addition to it, he finds this method to be promising because he comprehends geometrical figures to be absolutely evident, not probabilistic. The fact that Descartes was looking for a method that will help him to find the truth of things encourages him to look for a method with the properties of logic, mathematics and geometry, but obviously excluding their defects. The Effects Of Hiv On Female Sex Workers Introduction Since the first cases of HIV were detected among female sex workers (FSW) in Chennai, India in 1986, dramatic progress has been made in the last three decades in the battle against HIV both in India and globally (Mayer, 2011). Despite this progress, new infections continue to occur in 2012, there were an estimated 2.3 million persons newly infected with HIV globally (UNAIDS, 2013). Many new infections often occur within the context of a serodiscordant relationship an infected partner in a relationship transmits HIV to the uninfected partner. When people don t believe in what another person is conveying, concerning their reasons why they came to their conclusion they have the right not to agree. This is why we have discussions, even if their reasons are wrong; it s all about bringing their opinions to the attention of someone else. In their discussion one person s reason seems better than the other person; it doesn t make them smarter; it might be their views are better. I don t believe in one person being better than another. While opponents claim that tropical forests are destined to diminish as it is necessary for the growing human population to clear the natural landscape to make room for farms and pastures, to harvest timber for construction and fuel, to build roads and urban areas and to develop the economies of the often poor countries that surround the equator. Recent research has however repeatedly proven these statements wrong.
