A Reoccurring Theme Of Mary Shelly s Frankenstein
In the novel, Frankenstein, Mary Shelly tends to create a reoccurring theme that isolation indeed leads
to the destruction of humans. There were negative consequences throughout the book when isolation
occurred, whether it was earned or unearned. From the beginning of this novel, Victor isolates himself
on his own because of his selfish interests in playing the role of God in life. Victor s creation
experienced negative consequences from being separated not only from Victor but the world around it.
Mary Shelly introduced isolation at the beginning of this novel by showing Victor s interests that lead
to his isolation, as well as the isolation of his creation. In the article, Monsters of Modernity:
Frankenstein and Modern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This statement goes to show that Victor s addiction to the human composure is what lead to his fate of
isolation. Victor s creation received unnecessary isolation which created multiple adverse
consequences for him. After Victor had created this life from dead body parts, he abandoned it because
he was ashamed of the monster he had created. Victor was shocked to see that his creation lacked
basic human qualities and had an unappealing appearance. Victor was his creature s mother, father,
and Godly figure, who left him because he was incapable of being a great being. This creation was
innocent from the moment it was created because it had no choice about its appearance or physical
traits. If the monster blamed its isolation on anyone, it would be Victor because he left it when it
needed him the most resulting in the creation turning to nature for all support. The creation is not only
shut out by Victor because of its look, but society shuts him out. too. I am alone and miserable; man
will not associate with me, said Victor s creation in the novel Frankenstein (Shelley 103). Victor s
creature knew that his appearance would turn people away, yet there was nothing he was able to do.
The society that got a glimpse of this monster was mortified by his grotesque like appearance and his
in able to communicate well.

Case Study On Maggi Noodles
CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION AND DESIGN OF THE STUDY
INTRODUCTION:
Quick food styles are catching up fast because of more number of working couples, domestic fuel
crisis, non availability of reliable domestic servants and breaking up of joint family system. Neither
time nor patience to prepare the ingredients and wholesome food in the house itself, the high price of
ingredients and ready mix are also a significant factor responsible for the spectacular increase in the
demand for Maggi noodles products.
Nestle India Limited (NIL) introduced the Maggi brand to Indian consumers when it launched Maggi
2 minute noodles , an instant food product in 1982. At that time, Indian consumers were rather
conservative in their food habits, preferring to eat traditional Indian dishes rather than canned or
packaged food. In fact, NIL was trying to create entirely new food category instant noodles in India.
Initially, the company targeted working women on the premise that Maggi noodles were fast to cook
and hence offered convenience. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To get to the root of the problem, NIL conducted a research, which revealed that it was children who
liked the taste of Maggi noodles and who were the largest consumers of the product. After this, NIL
shifted its focus from working women and targeted children and their mothers through its marketing.
NIL s promotions positioned the noodles as a convenience product , for mothers and as a fun product
for children. The noodles tagline, Fast to Cook Good to Eat was also in keeping with this positioning.
NIL aggressively promoted Maggi noodles through several schemes like distributing free samples,
giving gifts on the return of empty packs, etc. NIL s advertising too played a great role in
communicating the benefits of the product to target

Protecting the Privacy of Users Online
There are large amounts of information available in the world through various media outlets, such as
the internet, mobile conversations, emails, chats, messages, etc. Nowadays, everything is a big data
and with the emergence of the whole new breed of big data software which is distributed all over in
the world, whatever data is available can be used for analyzing.
With the wide spread internet and improvement in technology the big data field have expanded at
various fields like banking, finance, social network etc. This paper reviews how the data is being
exposed on the internet and gives scope for the infringement of privacy; also I will review a variety of
electronic tools/methods that helps in protecting users privacy as well reflect upon how much less
people know about these infringements but how much more is happening. Also, I will review some of
the rules that exist to protect the privacy of users online.
Big data:
Big data is anything which is too large for traditional databases to handle. They range from Terabytes
of data to petabytes of data. Big data is generated from various sources, such as social media
networks, oil wells, mobile phone conversations, weather data etc.
Blackberry generates instrumentation data 500 Terabytes a day and has over 100 petabytes of data.
Chase Bank generates 150 petabytes of total data, Facebook got over 70 petabytes, Chevron (an

INTRODUCTION
The American Fur Company was a relentless monopoly operating in the climatic era of the fur trade. It
was established by John Jacob Astor in 1808. The company was created at a time that was favorable to
its expansion; it even grew to have a more powerful presence than the federal government over vast
areas. This case study analysis will evaluate John Astor in terms of his motives, managerial ability,
and ethics. This case study would also delve into a brief history of the fur trade in America and its
impact on society.

Fur Industry s Effect on Society
The fur trading industry played a major role in the development of the United States and Canada for
more than 300 years. The fur trade began in the 1500 s as an exchange between Indians and
Europeans. The Indians traded furs for such goods as tools and weapons. Beaver fur, which was used
in Europe to make felt hats, became the most valuable of these furs. The fur trade prospered until the
mid 1800, when fur bearing animals became scarce and silk hats became more popular than felt hats
made with beaver. Traders and trappers explored much of North America in search of fur. They built
trading posts in the wilderness, and settlements grew up around many of these posts. Some of these
settlements later became such major cities as Detroit, New Orleans, and St. Louis in the United States;
and Edmonton, Montreal, Quebec, and Winnipeg in Canada.
Also as a result of the Fur trade, the beaver population depleted, Indian trappers became debilitated,
tribal cultures buckled under the pressure of new economic motives, tools and values. Consequently,
since production fell within an area, the traders moved and settlers moved in developing farms and
towns. The Indians in that area were either killed or moved by the government.

The United States Contribution to the Rise of Pinochet
The date September 11th is not only a date of terror for the United States, but for the country Chile it
also marks the anniversary of a new error of fear. On September 11th, 1973 General Augusto Pinochet
overthrew President Salvador Allende, a democratically elected socialist. For seventeen years after
this Pinochet dictated over Chile and caused for the murder of over three thousand Chileans, the
disappearance of over a thousand, and the torture and jailing of tens of thousands more. What might
be even more shocking though, is that the United States had a direct contribution to this brutal

Once in power, Pinochet was assisted by the United States to remain in power. Secretary of State
Henry Kissinger attempted to hide from Congress and the media the breaking of human rights acts
that Pinochet was responsible for. Only a month after he came into power reports from the CIA came
in stating that Pinochet planned to destroy any and all resistance within two months and this will
require more killing by the military. With this knowledge Kissinger, rather than accusing Pinochet of
breaking human rights laws, attempted to outmaneuver the U.S. Congress to supply Pinochet with
weapons that Congress had denied (Landau 1999, pages 16 17). This support allowed Pinochet to gain
a complete dictatorship. As ruler he closed the Chilean Congress, banned political parties, censored
the press and took over the universities. Through the United Sates lack of action and assistance toward
him, Pinochet used his ability to violate human rights standards and rule over the population with
terror for seventeen years (Kornbluh 2003, pages 19 22).

On the other hand enemies such as the Space Pirates, Kraid, Ridley and the Mother Brain are
programed to perform a small selection of up, down and side to side to movements with the exception
of some basic skills and animations. Kraid for example, is a muscular, slow moving hybrid with
animations that signify a tank. The spinning claws and projectiles are launched from his back and
stomach area which replicate the barrel of a tank. Ridley is a slim and slippery space dragon which has
the ability to fly and to propel a burst of fireballs. In the original Metroid he is capable of dodging
attacks from Samus with the use of flying. In contrast to this, the Mother Brain displays the animation
of a pulsating mechanical brain with an immense amount of flowing energy without the access of
limbs. This indicates that it has imposing authority. To summarises this, many of the characters in
Metroid have the ability to convey an emotion with the use of different animations. The way they are
presented resembles the identity of realistic objects.
In conclusion, the art style of Metroid embodies the futuristic and sci fi theory of outer world life. For
the early 80 s, Metroid helped video games to progress into the mainstream media due to its vibrant

Essay about The Civil Rights Movement in the USA
The American declaration of independence stated, that: All men are created equal . But in the 19th
century only whites were born with equal opportunities. Africans were imported as slaves and had to
work on the fields of the whites. Until 1865 the Negroes were treated and looked at as something
lower than human. They were compared to apes, and therefore just owned the same rights as animals.
They were raised believing that whites were superior. It took them years to realize that they have to
stand up for their rights. The uprising turned into a brutal civil war. After the war, the slaves were
freed. The thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth amendment of the U.S. constitution prohibited slavery,
discrimination and denegation of the right ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was considered illegal and Plessy got arrested. Plessy chose to fight his case in court, because the
segregation laws violated the fourteenth amendment. Four years later, the case was brought to the
Supreme Court. The justices ruled against Homer Plessy. Their decision was that segregation is legal
as long as equal facilities were provided. Justice Henry Billings Brown summarized, The object of the
[Fourteenth] amendment was undoubtedly to enforce the equality of the two races before the law, but
in the nature of things it could not have been intended to abolish distinctions based upon color, or to
endorse social, as distinguished from political, equality. . . If one race be inferior to the other socially,
the Constitution of the United States cannot put them upon the same plane. This was the opinion of
most Justices and the majority of the white population at that time. From this quote you can see how
the people still believed that the races were not the same and had to be kept separate. This was
considered normal in the court and in the social life. The fact, that the races were not treated equally,
even though stated within the law, was ignored by the white population. The ruling of the Supreme
Court in this case became law. It did not gain the Negros any more rights or equal opportunities. Still,
it was the first step towards desegregation. It also made people realize that there was still injustice
between the races. Justice John

Capitalism Essay
Capitalism
Throughout my duration in college, business has been my major area of concentration. Capitalism is
the most central and consequential topic which has to do with business. The ideals of capitalism, over
time, have faced much scrutiny. Many great minds within the past two centuries have discredited
capitalism, for the virtues of socialism and the whole of society. It is my intent to put forth a moral
justification of the ideals behind capitalism. Ayn Rand said The moral justification of capitalism does
not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve the common good .
It is true that capitalism does, if that catch phrase has any meaning, but this is merely a secondary ...

Assuming that consumers are most concerned with their own self interest, the demand for goods that
are the most useful or helpful for society will arise. Assuming, also, that producers are most concerned
with their own self interest, they will further their own cause by striving to produce those goods which
will be the most useful to society at the lowest possible cost. Many economists have debated that
capitalism is practical because it allows each individual to align their actions with their own thoughts,
instead of acting under the demands of bureaucrats. A multitude of minds attack each problem under
capitalism. The successful thinkers thrive because they are able to see the opportunities that the other
thinkers do not.
They think of new products and come up with more efficient production methods which are
innovative to their field. Everyone is able to begin a business, raise money, and market his own
product in a free market, and each individual thinker is free to use his own ideas, and his success or
failure is based on the merits of his own idea. The successful thinker brings improved and new
products at a lower cost which creates economic advance and opulence. In order to fully understand
capitalism, we must have some understanding of other politico economic systems. Socialism is a
theory of social organization that advocates the ownership and control of industry,

Growing Kids Research Paper
heartyhealth.com.au Wellness for Growing Kids: Top Vitamins and Minerals That They Need
All children require a combination of specific nutrients in order to grow strong bodies that will resist
disease. Children require a balanced diet to ensure that they receive a complete supply of these
nutritional elements on an ongoing basis to maintain overall good health. While protein is crucial for
muscle development, the following are a sampling of the different vitamins and minerals also are
necessary for optimum health for kids.
1. Vitamin C
Kids need vitamin C to build strong bones, form and repair tissues throughout the body and to produce
red blood cells. This vitamin also helps to boost the immune system so that children can resist illness
and it assist the body with iron absorption. One example of foods that provide the body with vitamin C
is fresh fruits.
2. The B Vitamins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vitamin D
Another crucial vitamin for a child s health is vitamin D. It helps with bone and teeth development
through enabling the body to absorb calcium and other minerals. Also, it supports cell growth,
production of insulin and the immune system. While the body manufactures vitamin D with proper
sun exposure, the use of sunscreen today lowers the body s ability to produce sufficient amounts of it.
Fortified dairy and other products, certain fatty fish and egg yolks are examples of foods that provide
vitamin D.
4. Calcium
The mineral calcium is vital for developing strong teeth and bones, helping the blood clot for wound
healing and supporting the proper functioning of muscles and nerves. Dairy products, calcium fortified
orange juice, whole grain products and green leafy vegetables are some of the food sources for
calcium.
5. Zinc
Zinc supports the immune system, plays an important role in metabolism and promotes normal cell
growth. Shellfish, poultry, red meat, whole grains, beans and dairy products will supply this mineral to
children in effective quantities.

Essay on The Failings of Fundamentalism
Fundamentalism is an espresso shot of Christianity strong, bitter, and undiluted.
Fundamentalists believe the Bible should be interpreted as literal fact, not metaphorically.
To them, it is God s direct word to humanity and the ultimate earthly authority. And so
fundamentalists follow the Bible with unwavering certainty, as if it were God himself, and
press their interpretation of the book upon society. But the certainty at fundamentalism s core is
unwarranted, leading them to wrongfully ignore their oppositions own valid opinions and the
potential gains that come with them.

Their beliefs
demand an uncompromising attitude; for in their minds, their beliefs are not just their beliefs, but
unquestionable truths ordained by God.
While the fundamentalists reasoning is valid, their assumptions are dubious, resulting in
an absolutist mindset that unduly rejects non Biblical viewpoints. Indeed, if the Bible is inerrant,
and if the Bible is God s supreme will, then the fundamentalists zeal is justifiable and the world
ought to listen to them. However, fundamentalists downplay the almighty if. By their own
admission, their certainty in the Bible and in God is built on faith, which the Bible defines
as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see (NIV Heb. 11.1).
Neither hope nor assurance are quantifiable pieces of evidence; they are feelings, subjective by
definition. Therefore, fundamentalists may feel they are right, but they cannot know whether
they are right by standards of objective reasoning. Even if fundamentalist doctrine is entirely
correct, it has no more privilege to absolute certainty than any other set of opinions. As such,
fundamentalists must understand that their legislative efforts to defend God s will from ungodly
assaults (Marsden) will be seen by others as acts of condemnation, homophobia, and misogyny
(Riascos). They must consider others opposite and equally

Comparing Death Of A Salesman And American Beauty

elevate their understanding of how context influences composers. Arthur Miller s 1949 play Death of a

1999 film American Beauty challenges the expansion of consumerist culture in the late 20th century.

underscored by the irony of his description of a life insurance payout as magnificent , emphasising
that he values an insurance pay out more than his own life. Therefore, Miller critiques the materialistic
nature of post war American society by demonstrating how Willy s relentless pursuit of wealth causes
his inner emotional conflict and suicide. Similarly, Mendes examines how Caroline Burnham s
obsession with material goods prevents her family from attaining emotional fulfilment. In the 90s

Mckay On Heritage
Through thorough analysis of McKay, Cullen, Bennett, and Hughes the authors of these poems, it
explains the significance of Africa and concept of heritage. McKay s significance of Africa and
concept of heritage is depicted in four lines that stood out to the author. The first is line 1 on pg. 1007,
it says, The sun sought thy dim bed and brought forth light. This to the author and the audience that
McKay intends this for might look at this line as being not significant, but McKay uses this line to
create imagery of the sun rising but also gives the writer help at elaborating it to whoever reads this

Bennett goes even deeper when she uses the moon, the stars, and the sky. With all that she describes
her main significance of Africa is to get it back to what it was. Referring back to McKay and his
looking at Africa as being a great continent. Bennett is basically pleading for help to fix things. That
explains her significance of Africa she wants her people to fix the problems that persist because
ultimately the only one that can limit yourself is yourself. Which means the only one that can enslave
you is you, if they take your body they cannot take your mind unless you let them. Her concept of
heritage is interesting to the author though because she says, I want to see lithe Negro girls, Etched
dark against the sky, While sunset lingers. Which indicates that these are different tribes and different
heritages that Bennett has described which means that she is helping represent these people and their
heritages in different ways. This synopsis of Bennett s Heritage poem explains the significance of
Africa and its concept of heritage. How the idea of African and American history present themselves
in Bennett writing is through her personification of her references and through the different heritages
that she is describing. With that being said, she explains that she wants everything to go back to what
it was which will not happen because of the conflict of African and American history. The author is
basically saying the damage is done and since it is done the life of the people that she has embodied in
her poems will never see things become right

Leaders Intellect
Be, Know and Do, these three words are known by all NCOs in the Army, they represent the
characteristics of an effective leader. From these three words also come the three leader`s attribute of

module or a set of modules can be considered cite{Breza2013}. The purpose of this chapter is to
provide an introduction into the photovoltaic solar energy and to present the fundamental knowledges
on the behavior and the functioning of the PV devices. Furthermore, the different PV models are
discussed. section{Solar Energy Conversion} The basic element of a photovoltaic system (PV) is solar
cells which convert the sunlight energy directly to direct current by means of the photovoltaic effect.
Thus, It is crucial to understand the basic of a PV cell construction and its relationship with the
incidence of the light. subsection{Photovoltaic Cell Construction } In a typical photovoltaic cell, two
layers of doped silicon semiconductor are tightly bonded together cite{Chin2015} cite{Villalva2009}
cite{Ma2013a}. One layer is modified to have excess free electrons (a n layer), while the other layer is
treated to have an excess of electron holes or vacancies (a p layer). When the two dissimilar

The Stereotype Of A Smart High Achieving Asian American...
The model minority is a member of a minority group either based on ethnicity, race, or religion whose
members are commonly perceived to achieve a higher level of success than the average population.
The success that an individual reaches is typically measured by income, education, low crime rates
and high family stability achieved throughout their lives. The stereotype of the model minority is
commonly associated with Asian Americans as they are assumed to achieve highly in academics
which will thus propel them up the economic ladder. The stereotype of a smart high achieving Asian
American student is fueled by other stereotypes such as Asians being good at math and that they all go
to college. The intelligence stereotypes created by society are the reason why some individuals feel
pressured to succeed and feel as if failure is not as option. If its not the student who feels the pressure,
than it is the parent that pushes to child to do well. So called helicopter parents, that push their
children into professions or schools that the child may not want to attend, but have no choice as the
school or profession will bring upon great fortune and pride to the family. The parents push upon their
own ambitions and dreams onto the child and are looking out for the child s future even if it is not
necessarily the child s desire. However, along with the idea of a child succeeding both academically
and financially come the notion that the child may only excel in school. The child

The Impact Of Japanese Immigrants In America
Japanese immigrants and the following generations had to endure discrimination, racism, and
prejudice from white Americans. Two months after the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, the
President Franklin D. Roosevelt authorized the United States government to forcibly removed
thousands of Japanese American citizens who lived on the West Coast. They would relocate them to
concentration camps in remote parts of Arizona, California, Idaho, and other states in the West
because of an unfair reason from white Americans due to fear and ignorance. The relocation of
Japanese Americans into internment camps was one of the most flagrant violations of civil liberties in
American history. Approximately, 130,000 Japanese immigrants were relocated to these interment
camps, lost their businesses, forced to give up their homes and assets in addition to their freedom.
Most of the population were long standing immigrants (Issei) who arrived before 1924 or American
born children of immigrants (Nisei) who were solid members of the community and loyal to their
country. The reasons for immigration to the land of opportunity called America in the early years of
this country are explicit. America was seen as a place where an individual could start over with an
equal chance of success or failure, provided jobs requiring arduous labor and it did not matter what
country that person came from. However, this was not the same for many of the Japanese immigrants.
One of the many challenges that Japanese

Essay On World War 1
War is declared. That would be the headline of nearly every news outlet around. On July 28, 1914,
Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. In the following week, Germany, Russia, France, and Britain
soon followed. The war to end all wars had begun. The Great War was a unique war. The war saw
New Aged technology used with Old Aged tactics. Millions of lives were lost during these four years
that followed the start of the war. By the war s end, militaries increased in size, new strategies and
tactics were created, and the use of the turn of the century technologies were soon more frequently
used and improved upon. One of these new techs was the Airplane. Between the years of 1914 and
1918, the world discovered a new battlefield where wars ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only way to stop these planes from bringing back this valuable information was by shooting them
down. The hulls of the early planes were light and flimsy so the use of mounting machine guns on the
planes proved difficult. Early in the war, pilots would use grenades, flechettes, grappling hooks, and
pistols to try to down their opponents. Hulls were soon reinforced and machine guns were soon
mounted on the rear of two seater planes, but pilots felt the need to mount machine guns on the
forward part of the scout planes. A problem arose on how to fire the gun with the propeller in the way.
French pilot, Roland Garros retrofitted a forward mount machine gun on his Morane Saulnier Type L.
The propeller was reinforced so when a bullet hit the propeller it would deflect off. As dangerous as
that sounds, Garros still managed to down a few German aircrafts along the way. But due to engine
malfunction, he was forced to land in Germany territory. The Germans seized the plane and handed it
over to the Fokker company to implement for German use. Fokker implemented a synchronization
gear which would ensure the gun would fire without hitting the propeller Fokker mounted these on
their new Fokker Eindecker and soon began German air superiority better known as the Fakker
Scourge. From the Summer of 1915 to early 1916, the Germans ruled the skies. Allied planes were
being shot down at an alarming rate. Losing the skies was demoralizing to the allies.

The Importance and History of the Steam Engine Essay
The wonderful progress of the present century is, in a very great degree, due to the invention and
improvement of the steam engine, and to the ingenious application of its power to kinds of work that
formerly taxed the physical energies of the human race. ~Robert H. Thurston
The steam engine can easily be considered the single most important invention of the entire industrial
revolution. There is not one part of industry present in today s society that can be examined without
coming across some type of reference or dependence upon the steam engine. But, who deserves the
credit for this great invention? Some give the credit to James Watt while others claim that Thomas
Newcomen was the original inventor. However, the idea of the ... Show more content on

Thurston.
The idea using the power of steam to our advantage goes back nearly twenty one centuries. A learned
writer in ancient Alexandria, named Hero, wrote a manuscript describing various devices and ideas of
the time. Although it is not proven that Hero was the inventor of any of these devices, he is given
credit for the earliest mention of steam power. Hero describes a method to open the doors of a temple
with the action of a fire on the alter at the front of the temple. A series of pipes runs between the alter
and the temple doors. The force of the steam created by the fire on the alter is strong enough to open
the temple doors. The essential principle that Hero used was to change heat energy into mechanical
energy or work. Supposedly, Hero continued his work and ended up creating what is often called the
First Steam Engine. Hero s engine is featured on below on the right. The cauldron or bowl like portion
AB holds water. There is a steam tight cover place over top of the cauldron. Two pipes extend from
the lid and suspend a globe directly above the cauldron. The water is heated, causing steam to be
created and forced through the pipes. The globe then fills with steam. Pipes K and H are located on
opposite sides of the globe and allow the steam to escape when the pressure becomes uneven. The
escaping steam then causes the globe to spin on its axis.

Greek Architecture Symbolism
Ancient Greek architecture was very intricately made and well thought out. The Greeks used different
methods and reasonings behind their architecture because they made sure that their pieces were
exquisitely made to represent the things they thought were important. They valued their Gods and
their worship of the Gods. It was important for them to always represent or have symbolic meaning
behind all of their architectural designs. There are many hidden symbols that are involved in Greek
architecture like trees, trophies, leaves, hair, and sacrifices to name a few. Greek architecture includes
these hidden symbols to worship Gods, and to represent culture in their pieces. First, Greek
architecture was mainly created to give respect to Gods and create worship areas for the Gods.
Representing and respecting Greek Gods appropriately was considered important to the Greek people
during this time. A very early Greek architectural example of showing respect towards the Gods, was
when trees were used as the first temples as a place of worship. As expressed by Pliny, The Trees
formed the first temples of the Gods. (Pliny). Trees held a valuable position to the Greeks because
they were classified as sacred and even representational to certain Gods. The Greeks believed that
trees had relation to certain Gods. For example, The God Zeus s sacred tree was the oak tree, while,
the olive tree was the Goddess Athena s sacred tree. The olive tree was the first temple for Athena,

Swot Analysis Of Brenneman s Leadership
Brenneman s leadership actions clearly showed his in depth understanding of the airline industry and
where Continental needed to achieve to bring this company out of a third bankruptcy. His actions in
driving his staff not only fell into each quadrant of the Competing Values Framework (CVF) described
by Quinn but can also be seen linked to Nohria s 4+2 formula.
Using the first quadrant Human Relations Model of the CVF which focused on building a
collaborative environment, Brenneman was able to see that there was major reliability problems with
flight scheduling and operating departments. He understood the importance for departments to work in
cohesion on the flight schedules, otherwise problems would arise such as long delays due to ... Show

Both the flight scheduling and operating departments were given the goal of improving the airline s
reliability rating through the flight schedule planning. The departments were made to be held
accountable and if successful they would be rewarded for their achievements with an incentive of $65
per month. In the second quadrant Open Systems Model of the CVF which emphasizes new change to
create value, Brenneman encouraged innovative thinking through the adoption of an idea formulate by
his bag handlers. The idea involved creating additional value for customers through the priority bags
tag. This program entailed placing priority tags on the airline s best customer bags to ensure their bags
were unloaded first off the plane. As a result, this improved the customer experience without costing
the airline a cent. Referring to Nohria s 4+2 Formula Strategy , Brenneman s actions effectively
supported its strategy of improving product offerings to become the airline of preference. It s Go
Forward product plan aided in the transformation of customer experience through reducing baggage
mishandles and increasing on time performance. In addition, Brenneman s actions also effectively
supported the goal of building a new corporate culture comprising of new innovation.

What is drug trafficking?
Drug trafficking is a global illicit trade involving the cultivation, manufacture, distribution and sale of
substances which are subject to drug prohibition laws. UNODC is continuously monitoring and

The Ratio Of A Hedge Funds
We will extend our findings about undercapitalization in Table 4 based on our conclusions from Table
3. From Table 3, we know that there are 222 undercapitalized live hedge funds, and it consists only
8.1% of all the live funds. From this we can reach the conclusion that only a small fraction of live
hedge funds are undercapitalized. Most of the live hedge funds (about 91.9%) can stay out of the risk
of being undercapitalized. While the undercapitalized ratio for dead funds is 12.3%, so more dead
funds are undercapitalized compared with the ratio of live funds. Since the ratio of undercapitalization
plays an important role in determining the performance of a hedge fund, we will take a further look
into the details of undercapitalization in Table 4. We list a number of variables that would usually have
influence on the cap ratio. By comparing the different variable values under the category of adequately
capitalized funds and under capitalized funds, we can determine the key elements that would usually
influence the cap ratio of a hedge fund. Table 4 also illustrates the comparative characteristics between
live and dead hedge funds. We can specify the characteristics in the following points. First, the mean
of the net asset for the undercapitalized live funds is $88.4 million and the corresponding value for the
capitalized funds is $206.1 million. The huge difference between these two values means a positive
condition in the capital adequacy of the live funds. More live hedge

How Joss Whedon Does Not Have An Origin As Dramatic
Joss Whedon does not have an origin as dramatic as some comic book heroes, but his story is almost
as unbelievable in filmmaking today: a transformation from a typecast fan favorite to the writer and
director of some of the most successful movies of all time. He began his career as a lesser known but
undeniably talented sitcom writer in 1988, but his fame in Hollywood really began when Marvel
sought him out in 2010 to write and direct The Avengers. Whedon s varied experience in the movie
industry, unique skill set, and passions for writing and creating made him the perfect fit for the project;
and they have helped him become one of the most admired screenwriters of the 21st century. He
knows the creative process that works best for him when writing, and he used this same process when
writing the script for The Avengers. He believes that writing from a director s point of view, being a
willing and able collaborator, and finding balance in characters will lead to a great film. Applying
these constants to his writing process for The Avengers, Whedon created a coherent and compelling
story that balances the characters heroism with their humanity. Before he begins writing, Whedon has
a certain environment that fosters his creative process best. While he has always liked working in the
early morning best, Whedon s schedule has become much more unreliable since becoming a father.
You write whenever you can, he told Steve Weintraub of Collider. Whenever you re given the

Effects Of Sodium Chloride On Thikistrodesmus Algae Growth

Sodium Chloride Acts as Environmental Pollutant by Prohibiting Ankistrodesmus Algae Growth
Introduction
Pollution negatively effects an organism s growth because it introduces harmful chemicals or products
that cause damage to its environment. The environmental pollution experiment that was performed
tested the effects of pollutants, more specifically sodium chloride, on Ankistrodesmus, which is a
species of fresh water algae. The experiment investigated the effects of different concentrations of
sodium chloride to examine if it promoted or suppressed Ankistrodesmus growth. The importance of
this experiment was to determine if sodium chloride could be classified as a pollutant for this species
of algae. Experiments conducted in 1968 show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Data collected over a period of two weeks indicates that sodium chloride prohibits Ankistrodesmus
growth since optical density measurements of each test tube were recorded in a table as well as graph
(Figures 1 and 2). The data shown in this table and graph show that although the Ankistrodesmus
algae grew slightly at some points, overall it decreased in optical density, which means sodium
chloride prevented its growth. This conclusion can also be drawn from the average net gain/losses of
optical densities table and graph. The data collected indicates that the Ankistrodesmus grew more in
the 50% sodium chloride solution, which was treatment group 3 (Figure 4). However, this cannot be
acknowledged since Day 14 s test tube readings were taken using another group s setup.
Consequently, only readings from Day 0 and Day 7 are accurate and usable. Even though treatment
group 3 s data is unreliable it s only one result and accounting this group still leaves treatment groups
1 and 2. By comparing treatment groups 1 and 2 to the control group one can easily conclude that the
optical densities of the two treatment groups decrease (Figures 3 and 4). This indicates that as the
concentrations of sodium chloride increases then the overall growth of algae decreases. Therefore, one
can conclude that from the readings sodium chloride prohibits Ankistrodesmus algae

Barbara Ehrenreich s Your Local News-Dateline Delhi
International relations is a topic that is constantly changing and can be very fragile. In the article, Your
Local News Dateline Delhi Barbara Ehrenreich, a respected journalist, shares her personal insights
into the outsourcing of American jobs to foreign lands. Ehrenreich s cynical attitude, use of dry
humor, and rhetorical questions makes this daunting subject easier to take in. Fareed Zakaria, a well
known author, explains the globalized world and where outsourcing fits, in an excerpt from his book,
The Post American World. Zakaria looks back in history to show the reader how the world came to
this globalizing moment , then he hypothesizes the future of the global economy by piecing together
all of the elements. Ehrenreich shows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everybody has their own worries and opinions, so they choose to care about different things. Barbara
Ehrenreich puts it this way, The world may be flat, as New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman
has written, but I always liked to think that I was standing on a bit of a hill (608). The truth about
outsourcing flies over the heads of many Americans, but hits Ehrenreich right in the face. She writes
this article because it s a journalist s job is to take in new information that may be hard to understand
or meant to be kept on the down low and convey it in a way that s appealing to many. She implicitly
blames CEOs and other high class positions for some of the more outrageous and negative outsourcing
situations. Zakaria directly addresses this problem stating: There is a growing gap between America s
worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class, on the other hand, and the majority of the American
people, on the other (622). America s worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class are the ones that
understand and control outsourcing, while the rest of Americans stay uninformed and are the real
victims of outsourcing. Zakaria describes the rise of the rest as the third major tectonic power shift.
His theory, which makes perfect sense, implies that these power shifts are a natural occurrence.
According to Zakaria, the third shift shouldn t hurt America and Americans shouldn t feel threatened
or worried by it. The thing that Americans should be worried about is the growing gap of power that
exists between the elite business class and the rest of Americans. Because the higher class only looks
out for themselves and only seeks profit for the firms that they control, many negative things are
happening to the lower class, the biggest being the outsourcing of their jobs. This gap in power is what
Zakaria thinks could hurt America and make it impossible to adapt to the more globalized world.
Americans need

  • 2. A Reoccurring Theme Of Mary Shelly s Frankenstein In the novel, Frankenstein, Mary Shelly tends to create a reoccurring theme that isolation indeed leads to the destruction of humans. There were negative consequences throughout the book when isolation occurred, whether it was earned or unearned. From the beginning of this novel, Victor isolates himself on his own because of his selfish interests in playing the role of God in life. Victor s creation experienced negative consequences from being separated not only from Victor but the world around it. Mary Shelly introduced isolation at the beginning of this novel by showing Victor s interests that lead to his isolation, as well as the isolation of his creation. In the article, Monsters of Modernity: Frankenstein and Modern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This statement goes to show that Victor s addiction to the human composure is what lead to his fate of isolation. Victor s creation received unnecessary isolation which created multiple adverse consequences for him. After Victor had created this life from dead body parts, he abandoned it because he was ashamed of the monster he had created. Victor was shocked to see that his creation lacked basic human qualities and had an unappealing appearance. Victor was his creature s mother, father, and Godly figure, who left him because he was incapable of being a great being. This creation was innocent from the moment it was created because it had no choice about its appearance or physical traits. If the monster blamed its isolation on anyone, it would be Victor because he left it when it needed him the most resulting in the creation turning to nature for all support. The creation is not only shut out by Victor because of its look, but society shuts him out. too. I am alone and miserable; man will not associate with me, said Victor s creation in the novel Frankenstein (Shelley 103). Victor s creature knew that his appearance would turn people away, yet there was nothing he was able to do. The society that got a glimpse of this monster was mortified by his grotesque like appearance and his in able to communicate well. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Case Study On Maggi Noodles CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION AND DESIGN OF THE STUDY INTRODUCTION: Quick food styles are catching up fast because of more number of working couples, domestic fuel crisis, non availability of reliable domestic servants and breaking up of joint family system. Neither time nor patience to prepare the ingredients and wholesome food in the house itself, the high price of ingredients and ready mix are also a significant factor responsible for the spectacular increase in the demand for Maggi noodles products. Nestle India Limited (NIL) introduced the Maggi brand to Indian consumers when it launched Maggi 2 minute noodles , an instant food product in 1982. At that time, Indian consumers were rather conservative in their food habits, preferring to eat traditional Indian dishes rather than canned or packaged food. In fact, NIL was trying to create entirely new food category instant noodles in India. Initially, the company targeted working women on the premise that Maggi noodles were fast to cook and hence offered convenience. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To get to the root of the problem, NIL conducted a research, which revealed that it was children who liked the taste of Maggi noodles and who were the largest consumers of the product. After this, NIL shifted its focus from working women and targeted children and their mothers through its marketing. NIL s promotions positioned the noodles as a convenience product , for mothers and as a fun product for children. The noodles tagline, Fast to Cook Good to Eat was also in keeping with this positioning. NIL aggressively promoted Maggi noodles through several schemes like distributing free samples, giving gifts on the return of empty packs, etc. NIL s advertising too played a great role in communicating the benefits of the product to target ... Fur Industry s Effect on Society The fur trading industry played a major role in the development of the United States and Canada for more than 300 years. The fur trade began in the 1500 s as an exchange between Indians and Europeans. The Indians traded furs for such goods as tools and weapons. Beaver fur, which was used in Europe to make felt hats, became the most valuable of these furs. The fur trade prospered until the mid 1800, when fur bearing animals became scarce and silk hats became more popular than felt hats made with beaver. Traders and trappers explored much of North America in search of fur. They built trading posts in the wilderness, and settlements grew up around many of these posts. Some of these settlements later became such major cities as Detroit, New Orleans, and St. Louis in the United States; and Edmonton, Montreal, Quebec, and Winnipeg in Canada. Also as a result of the Fur trade, the beaver population depleted, Indian trappers became debilitated, tribal cultures buckled under the pressure of new economic motives, tools and values. Consequently, since production fell within an area, the traders moved and settlers moved in developing farms and towns. The Indians in that area were either killed or moved by the government. ... Secretary of State Henry Kissinger attempted to hide from Congress and the media the breaking of human rights acts that Pinochet was responsible for. Only a month after he came into power reports from the CIA came in stating that Pinochet planned to destroy any and all resistance within two months and this will require more killing by the military. With this knowledge Kissinger, rather than accusing Pinochet of breaking human rights laws, attempted to outmaneuver the U.S. Congress to supply Pinochet with weapons that Congress had denied (Landau 1999, pages 16 17). This support allowed Pinochet to gain a complete dictatorship. As ruler he closed the Chilean Congress, banned political parties, censored the press and took over the universities. Through the United Sates lack of action and assistance toward him, Pinochet used his ability to violate human rights standards and rule over the population with terror for seventeen years (Kornbluh 2003, pages 19 22). Ridley is a slim and slippery space dragon which has the ability to fly and to propel a burst of fireballs. In the original Metroid he is capable of dodging attacks from Samus with the use of flying. But in the 19th century only whites were born with equal opportunities. Africans were imported as slaves and had to work on the fields of the whites. Until 1865 the Negroes were treated and looked at as something lower than human. They were compared to apes, and therefore just owned the same rights as animals. They were raised believing that whites were superior. It took them years to realize that they have to stand up for their rights. The uprising turned into a brutal civil war. Four years later, the case was brought to the Supreme Court. The justices ruled against Homer Plessy. Their decision was that segregation is legal as long as equal facilities were provided. Justice Henry Billings Brown summarized, The object of the [Fourteenth] amendment was undoubtedly to enforce the equality of the two races before the law, but in the nature of things it could not have been intended to abolish distinctions based upon color, or to endorse social, as distinguished from political, equality. . . If one race be inferior to the other socially, the Constitution of the United States cannot put them upon the same plane. This was the opinion of most Justices and the majority of the white population at that time. From this quote you can see how the people still believed that the races were not the same and had to be kept separate. This was considered normal in the court and in the social life. The fact, that the races were not treated equally, even though stated within the law, was ignored by the white population. The ruling of the Supreme Court in this case became law. It did not gain the Negros any more rights or equal opportunities. Still, it was the first step towards desegregation. It also made people realize that there was still injustice between the races. Capitalism is the most central and consequential topic which has to do with business. The ideals of capitalism, over time, have faced much scrutiny. Many great minds within the past two centuries have discredited capitalism, for the virtues of socialism and the whole of society. It is my intent to put forth a moral justification of the ideals behind capitalism. Assuming, also, that producers are most concerned with their own self interest, they will further their own cause by striving to produce those goods which will be the most useful to society at the lowest possible cost. Many economists have debated that capitalism is practical because it allows each individual to align their actions with their own thoughts, instead of acting under the demands of bureaucrats. A multitude of minds attack each problem under capitalism. The successful thinkers thrive because they are able to see the opportunities that the other thinkers do not. They think of new products and come up with more efficient production methods which are innovative to their field. Everyone is able to begin a business, raise money, and market his own product in a free market, and each individual thinker is free to use his own ideas, and his success or failure is based on the merits of his own idea. This to the author and the audience that McKay intends this for might look at this line as being not significant, but McKay uses this line to create imagery of the sun rising but also gives the writer help at elaborating it to whoever reads this paper. Bennett goes even deeper when she uses the moon, the stars, and the sky. With all that she describes her main significance of Africa is to get it back to what it was. Referring back to McKay and his looking at Africa as being a great continent. Bennett is basically pleading for help to fix things. That explains her significance of Africa she wants her people to fix the problems that persist because ultimately the only one that can limit yourself is yourself. Which means the only one that can enslave you is you, if they take your body they cannot take your mind unless you let them. Her concept of heritage is interesting to the author though because she says, I want to see lithe Negro girls, Etched dark against the sky, While sunset lingers. Which indicates that these are different tribes and different heritages that Bennett has described which means that she is helping represent these people and their heritages in different ways. This synopsis of Bennett s Heritage poem explains the significance of Africa and its concept of heritage. How the idea of African and American history present themselves in Bennett writing is through her personification of her references and through the different heritages that she is describing. With that being said, she explains that she wants everything to go back to what it was which will not happen because of the conflict of African and American history. Two months after the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, the President Franklin D. Roosevelt authorized the United States government to forcibly removed thousands of Japanese American citizens who lived on the West Coast. They would relocate them to concentration camps in remote parts of Arizona, California, Idaho, and other states in the West because of an unfair reason from white Americans due to fear and ignorance. The relocation of Japanese Americans into internment camps was one of the most flagrant violations of civil liberties in American history. Approximately, 130,000 Japanese immigrants were relocated to these interment camps, lost their businesses, forced to give up their homes and assets in addition to their freedom. Most of the population were long standing immigrants (Issei) who arrived before 1924 or American born children of immigrants (Nisei) who were solid members of the community and loyal to their country. The reasons for immigration to the land of opportunity called America in the early years of this country are explicit. The hulls of the early planes were light and flimsy so the use of mounting machine guns on the planes proved difficult. Hulls were soon reinforced and machine guns were soon mounted on the rear of two seater planes, but pilots felt the need to mount machine guns on the forward part of the scout planes. A problem arose on how to fire the gun with the propeller in the way. French pilot, Roland Garros retrofitted a forward mount machine gun on his Morane Saulnier Type L. The propeller was reinforced so when a bullet hit the propeller it would deflect off. As dangerous as that sounds, Garros still managed to down a few German aircrafts along the way. But due to engine malfunction, he was forced to land in Germany territory. The Germans seized the plane and handed it over to the Fokker company to implement for German use. Fokker implemented a synchronization gear which would ensure the gun would fire without hitting the propeller Fokker mounted these on their new Fokker Eindecker and soon began German air superiority better known as the Fakker Scourge. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thurston. The idea using the power of steam to our advantage goes back nearly twenty one centuries. A learned writer in ancient Alexandria, named Hero, wrote a manuscript describing various devices and ideas of the time. Although it is not proven that Hero was the inventor of any of these devices, he is given credit for the earliest mention of steam power. Hero describes a method to open the doors of a temple with the action of a fire on the alter at the front of the temple. A series of pipes runs between the alter and the temple doors. The force of the steam created by the fire on the alter is strong enough to open the temple doors. The essential principle that Hero used was to change heat energy into mechanical energy or work. Supposedly, Hero continued his work and ended up creating what is often called the First Steam Engine. Hero s engine is featured on below on the right. The cauldron or bowl like portion AB holds water. There is a steam tight cover place over top of the cauldron. Two pipes extend from the lid and suspend a globe directly above the cauldron. The water is heated, causing steam to be created and forced through the pipes. The globe then fills with steam. Pipes K and H are located on opposite sides of the globe and allow the steam to escape when the pressure becomes uneven. The escaping steam then causes the globe to spin on its axis. The power ... From Table 3, we know that there are 222 undercapitalized live hedge funds, and it consists only 8.1% of all the live funds. From this we can reach the conclusion that only a small fraction of live hedge funds are undercapitalized. Most of the live hedge funds (about 91.9%) can stay out of the risk of being undercapitalized. While the undercapitalized ratio for dead funds is 12.3%, so more dead funds are undercapitalized compared with the ratio of live funds. Since the ratio of undercapitalization plays an important role in determining the performance of a hedge fund, we will take a further look into the details of undercapitalization in Table 4. We list a number of variables that would usually have influence on the cap ratio. By comparing the different variable values under the category of adequately capitalized funds and under capitalized funds, we can determine the key elements that would usually influence the cap ratio of a hedge fund. Table 4 also illustrates the comparative characteristics between live and dead hedge funds. We can specify the characteristics in the following points. First, the mean of the net asset for the undercapitalized live funds is $88.4 million and the corresponding value for the capitalized funds is $206.1 million. The huge difference between these two values means a positive condition in the capital adequacy of the live funds. More live hedge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Data collected over a period of two weeks indicates that sodium chloride prohibits Ankistrodesmus growth since optical density measurements of each test tube were recorded in a table as well as graph (Figures 1 and 2). The data shown in this table and graph show that although the Ankistrodesmus algae grew slightly at some points, overall it decreased in optical density, which means sodium chloride prevented its growth. This conclusion can also be drawn from the average net gain/losses of optical densities table and graph. The data collected indicates that the Ankistrodesmus grew more in the 50% sodium chloride solution, which was treatment group 3 (Figure 4). However, this cannot be acknowledged since Day 14 s test tube readings were taken using another group s setup. Consequently, only readings from Day 0 and Day 7 are accurate and usable. Even though treatment group 3 s data is unreliable it s only one result and accounting this group still leaves treatment groups 1 and 2. By comparing treatment groups 1 and 2 to the control group one can easily conclude that the optical densities of the two treatment groups decrease (Figures 3 and 4). This indicates that as the concentrations of sodium chloride increases then the overall growth of algae decreases. The truth about outsourcing flies over the heads of many Americans, but hits Ehrenreich right in the face. She writes this article because it s a journalist s job is to take in new information that may be hard to understand or meant to be kept on the down low and convey it in a way that s appealing to many. She implicitly blames CEOs and other high class positions for some of the more outrageous and negative outsourcing situations. Zakaria directly addresses this problem stating: There is a growing gap between America s worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class, on the other hand, and the majority of the American people, on the other (622). America s worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class are the ones that understand and control outsourcing, while the rest of Americans stay uninformed and are the real victims of outsourcing. Zakaria describes the rise of the rest as the third major tectonic power shift. His theory, which makes perfect sense, implies that these power shifts are a natural occurrence. According to Zakaria, the third shift shouldn t hurt America and Americans shouldn t feel threatened or worried by it. The thing that Americans should be worried about is the growing gap of power that exists between the elite business class and the rest of Americans. Because the higher class only looks out for themselves and only seeks profit for the firms that they control, many negative things are happening to the lower class, the biggest being the outsourcing of their jobs.
