2. Design
In Air,I will be goingfora more simple designcomparedtothe likesof modernmagazinesyoucanfind
instorestoday.The Frontcover,while still puttingitself outthere willnotbe advertisingmuchother
than the mainartistof the magazine whichwill alsobe onthe double page spread.The mainaimof the
frontpage will be totry and geta personinthe shopto give the magazine achance,and to standout
fromthe crowdinsteadof blendinginwiththe othermagazines.The skyline will be advertisingvarious
things for the magazine,like a possible free giveaway when they buy the magazine, such as a free album.
I'll alsobe tryingtouse quite abitof colourto try and getacross the message tothe customerina store
that theywantto at leastlookat the magazine,therefore togive itachance at beingpurchased.Maybe
a fewarticleswill be advertisedonthe frontpage,howeverI've found thatmagazinesreallyliketoput
out there tothe audience informationabouttheirdoublepage spread,therefore Iwillbe doingthe
same and evenonthe contentspage.The masthead,similartomanyothersonvariousmagazineswill
be quite hiddenonthe frontpage,to make wayfor the mainartists,usuallytuckedawaybehindtheir
head.The skyline willbe there asnormal andthere will be few otherarticlesthere.Onthe contents
page there will be one persononthe leftof the page,withat the top inlarge stand outfont andwriting,
an advertisementforthe double page spreadanditspage number.
House Style
WithAir,I want to go fora technosortof house style of genre.Withthe house andtechnogenre you
can feel astyle of simplicitywithit,hence the verysimplisticdesignof the mastheadwhichyoucansee
at the topof the document.The name of Airitself isverysimple andsmoothlikewhenyousayit.The
magazine itself withthe imagesandcolourswill take anice flowingblue andwhite colourscheme,as
well asverysimplisticfonts.The magazine will lookorganizedaswell,all tofitthisnice flowinghouse
theme.The mainoverall style of the magazine will be thatitflowsverynice.
Target Audience
My targetaudience isthe typical rock genre magazine audience.Thiswouldconsistof teenagers,usually
around15 to18 yearsold.Of course otherpeople whogenerallyenjoytechnoandhouse musiccouldbe
targetedbythismagazine.Though,because thismagazine isbasedaroundthe house genre Iprobably
won'tbe usingtoomuch slang,if anyat all.I'dwant to reallyconnectwiththe culture of the genre I'm
goingfor withthe magazine inthe wayitsimages,themes,coloursandlanguage issetout.Anyone who
isgenerallyinterestedinthistype of musicIthinkwouldreallyenjoythismagazine.
Cover Information
The Magazine wouldinmy eyescostaround£3.50 as I want ineach magazine togive somethingaway.
Maybe one weektheymightgetsomethingmore expensivelikearecentalbum, thoughI couldn'treally

they're usedtoand knowwhatthey're goingto getfrom it.If I wasto increase the pricingof the
magazine I'dsay an extra£1 wouldbe the maximumIwouldgosince I don't wantto have an overpriced
magazine,andalsoI don'twant to be givingawaythingsinthe magazine eachweekortwo whichcost
evenmore thanthe magazine.I'dwant mymagazine to be a biweeklymagazine since itisn'tasmuch of
a deal as a weeklymagazine,thoughit'snota dreadedlonganddraggingwaitfor a monthlylongone.
Everyotherweekshoulddojustfine formymagazine.
Publishing House
I thinkI wouldlike mymagazine tobe publishedbyTime Inc(UK).Yes,they are an American
incorporationthoughtheydoinface branch out to the UnitedKingdom.Theyalreadyproduce abundle
of magazines,all of differentgenres,andall of whichare relativelysuccessful,therefore I'msure my
magazine woulddowell underthem. Theyownmanyothercompanieswhichproduce magazinesandall
kindsof media,andI thinkthat thiswouldbe the rightchoice formy magazine.
