Prop List for Air Magazine

1. AIR Media Prop List
Microphone - The microphone is something that is used mainly at concerts for the genre of
music my magazine is based upon. The artists usually record a minority of sounds with the
microphone, though this is still an iconic prop of music as a whole. I thought I'd include one in
the magazine since I had not many other ideas for props which could have been used. This isn't
really as big as a prop as the other two icons of this genre, though it is still a prop I want to
feature in my magazine.
Amp - This is also an iconic part of music, especially live concerts or gigs, so I thought I'd have
this in here. It's probably be too much to bring an actual large concert speaker to the set and
have a model lean on it, since that was an idea though I thought it'd be much easier to have a
model with their foot up on the amp, looking to the camera with a bit of a half smile. The Amp
would probably feature on either the double page spread or the contents page, since I don't
really think I need anything like this for the front page, as the front page will solely focus on the
artist/model, and barely any props.
Headphones - Now this IS the iconic part of this genre, and I think this prop would probably
feature along with the model on the front page. The person wouldn't really wear them as you
usually would, over your ears, but rather in modern day fashion to relate the my audience the
model would have them around their neck. This would fit in with the genre of music, and relate
to the audience at the same time, since we'd be staying up to date with modern trends and
fashion.
Cap or 'Beanie' - Part of modern 'hipster' culture this would also be part of the keeping up
with fashion issue of the magazine. Since we want to relate to our audience I think I would
either put what is known as a 'Beanie' on the model, or a backwards cap. Yes the backwards cap
isn't really in with fashion at this moment in time anymore, though it is still known that people
within this genre still do this kind of thing, therefore it would still be a valid option.
