1. Solving a quadratic equation of one variable. Based on the Factors of a polynomial and
ab = 0, then a or b, one must be zero when a, b  R.
Ex. find the answer of x2
– 4x + 3 = 0
Solution x2
– 4x + 3 = 0
(x – 1)(x – 3) = 0
Find answer of (x – 1)(x – 3) = 0 when x
x – 1 = 0 or x – 3 = 0
x = 1 or x = 3
Check. By the representation. x is 1 or 3 in equation x2
– 4x + 3 = 0
When x = 1 we get
