It gives a different meaning. If you mistakenly write, it will have a significant impact on your writing.
There are theories that say, knowledge of grammar is superfluous for a successful communication
because children are able to communicate without having any knowledge of grammar. Based on this
theory, grammatical knowledge is not required. However, if we as teachers do not emphasize grammar
knowledge as part of the English language dominates the whole process of learning, then it makes a
difficult learning process. Comparative understanding of grammar has led to different levels and
interest in teaching English. Have detailed knowledge of grammar does not mean that students have
mastery of speaking and communicating. It s more to dominate part of the subjects that still require
practice in terms of written and spoken.
Learning and teaching grammar includes not only a way to manipulate the presentation simple
language, but also learn that there are rules in the context of grammar. If teachers and students are
communicating, they should be able to produce language in a way that is understandable. Grammar
can be taught together through listening, speaking, reading and writing. Teaching English as a
communication can be implemented by teachers to encourage the use of spoken language should be
used in situations where, let the students to practice the language in the activities made in the teacher s

The Abnormal Role Of Flooding In New York City
A report by the New York Office of Emergency Management states that in the 1990 s the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineer found that New York City s low lying heavily populated neighborhoods are more
exposed to the threat of coastal flooding in a hurricane than was previously realized. This projection
was illuminated during Hurricanes Irene in 2011 and Sandy in 2012. The storm surge in Battery Park
along the lower east side of Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy was 9.41 feet surpassing the record set
by Hurricane Donna in 1960. New York City is close to the Atlantic Ocean. Lower Manhattan defined
by the North of 14th Street, the West by the Hudson River, the East by the East River and the South by
New York Harbor is surrounded by water and was one of the hardest hit areas during Hurricane Sandy.
The area is situated in Flood Zone A, a geographical area designated by the Federal Emergence
Management Association to be at risk for either coastal or riverine flooding. Mandatory evacuation
was ordered for this area before the hurricane made landfall because of the location and potential of
massive flooding due to the adverse effect of a storm surge. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Storm Surge is an abnormal rise of ocean water that is pushed ashore by the oncoming hurricane s

areas. Storm surge produced by hurricanes posed the greatest threat to life and property. The National

Basic Forms Of Business Organization
Three basic forms of business organization are sole proprietorship, partnership, and corporation. Sole
proprietorship is the simplest form of business organization in which there is only one owner
(Cheeseman, 2015, p. 570). Single person is responsible for all debts, liabilities, and obligations, as
well as unlimited liability for business operations. If the owner is unsuccessful and acquires debt,
creditors can pursue legal action and acquire access to personal bank accounts, real estate, and other
assets by the court order to repay person s debt obligations. Owners of sole proprietorships cannot
raise capital by selling shares that represent stakeholder interest in the business. The owner reports all
income and expenses in personal tax return. The business terminates upon withdrawal or an owner s
death. The owner can sell the business and by doing so, will lose the ownership. Advantages of sole
proprietorship include freedom of decisions, tax breaks, ease to start, ownership of all profits, being
taxed once as a personal income of the owner, and lack of government compliance. Disadvantages of
sole proprietorship include unlimited liability, very limited sources of production, and difficulty to
raise capital. According to Cheeseman (2015), general partnership is an association of two or more
persons to carry on as co owners of a business for profit (p. 572). The rights and duties of partners are
established in the partnership agreement and by law such as Uniform

Venezuela s Government
The Effectiveness of Venezuela s Government
John Locke was an English philosopher in the 17th century. Locke explained what the most important
purposes of a government were. He claimed that the government s primary purpose was to protect
people s natural rights; life, liberty, and property. However, the country of Venezuela s government
does not protect any of these rights, and the people should revolt and force a change in the

product. To do this, they use different methods of advertising. Also, both companies target different
audiences. When all is said and done, they have varying degrees of success in doing so. Advertising is
a fundamental force in today s society, and because of this, companies must provide the most effective
commercials with presentation of as many logical appeals as possible.

many people will choose whether or not they want to buy a product based only on their familiarity

The Concept Of Fashion And Fashion
The concept of style, pertaining to clothes and fashion is something embedded into our everyday lives.
While many pay no attention to it, and others simply fall into the category of those who not aware of
the importance it has in our everyday lives, this does not take away from its underlying and quiet
niche in our society. The way you chose to dress and the way you do this largely depends on your own
life. For example, an older, retired gentleman will have a different style and taste than a younger
teenager. Essentially, the concept of style comes down to three key components: the ability to practice
self expression, increasing self esteem, and dressing for success. Before we can understand the
concept that is style, it is important to understand another concept intertwined with style. This concept
is best expressed by the president of Well Said, Inc., Darlene Price, who says, Let s be clear: In the big
picture of ultimate reality, what you wear neither defines who you are as a person nor determines your
value as a human being. Essentially, the clothes and what a user chooses to wear is not what will
define them, but it is rather the user who defines what they are wearing, as the person makes the
clothes, and not vice versa. The reason behind this is many seem to forget that the user of the clothes
must ultimately dress for themselves and do however they please with their style, and not attempt to
conform to societal norms or to anyone that is attempting to pressure

Creationism in Public Schools Essay
Creationism in Public Schools Teaching Creationism in Schools The question as to whether or not
creationism should be taught in public schools is a very emotional and complex question. It can be
looked at from several different angles, its validity being one of them. Despite the lack of evidence to
support the fundamentalist idea of creationism, that in itself is not enough to warrant its exclusion
from the curriculum of public schools in the United States. The question is far more involved and
complex.
One way to address the question is whether or not creationism, in itself, is a valid idea to be taught in
public schools. The answer to this can be yes. Not only should a student in American public schools
learn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem in scientific creationism, and what I see as a reason for its exclusion from the science
classroom in public schools, is the fact that it looks as if, from the outside, the whole theory that it rest
on is simply a contortion of the traditional version of creation described in Genesis, custom made to fit
in with Darwin s theory of evolution. R. M. Hare would probably say that scientific creationism is
simply a modification of the story of creation in Genesis, to fit into the ÒblikÓ of the religious
fundamentalist. A blik, as Hare describes it, is a pre set worldview held by all people, in which they
draw from when forming certain opinions on any particular subject. In the case of religious
fundamentalist, whose faith in the validity of the Book of Genesis is an essential part of their blik, it
becomes necessary for them to contort their literal view of the Book of Genesis into a form that is
scientifically acceptable. For this reason, creation science still does not have a place in the science
classroom of public schools.
Another problem with scientific creationism is that it would exclude the idea of a random beginning.
No theory could ever be tested to find origins because it would conflict with scientific creationism.
Scientific creationism would be, in essence, a lesson on science halting efforts to find creation, if it is
possible at all. It may, however, be acceptable as

Louis Contributions Of The Jazz Music Scene
Musical Style Louis made many contributions to the evolution of jazz as he learned and adapted his
style. His use of harmonies and improvisation was before his time and he helped shape the whole
genre as it was evolving. His technique with his trumpet playing and how the sound played off of the
other instruments was unparalleled at the time. His contributions and techniques play a large part in
changing jazz music from a folksy sound to more of the swing sound we attribute to the genre today.
Armstrong had amazing timing and rhythm as well as an ear for the music which set him above the
rest and propelled him to the top of the jazz music scene. In his songs you can hear how much his
trumpet stands out and the level of skill during trumpet solos and how he uses the tone and vibrato of
the instrument in order to give the sound we, to this day, associate with him. His technique at the
trumpet was revolutionary for the time and Armstrong would help shape what the Jazz movement
would become. (Ramsey) Philosophy
Louis grew up in a negative environment and understood how bad life could be and because of this he
tried to always make people smile. He was a humble man, even though being one of the greatest
celebrities of the twentieth Century (Louis). He was an Entertainer, not just an artist and wanted to

A Brief Look at Psychoanalysis
The normal psychology is the subject s ability to survive independently, to play a positive social role,
to maintain itself, to have the discernment, and to be free. All these features are in our conception a
way of socialization. Many scientists say that the progress of society has increased the complexity and
the risk of social development, and it is obvious that the human personality cannot remain completely
independent and that it always finds a sociocultural context or at least influential cause of social
madness. Solving this dilemma is based on clarifying the notion of normal and pathological, both
socially and individually. The psychoanalysis has gone through a lot of stress, challenge, strife, and
divisions, but is seen regaining vitality and dignity through multiple theories which play an important
role in social psychoanalysis by trying to apply the methods of individual psychoanalysis and
knowledge to a complex of social neurosis. The most important representatives of this theory: are
Herbert Marcuse, Harry Sullivan, Erich Fromm, and the great American psychologists Karen Horney,
who brings a great contribution to psychology by initiating and animating the social psychoanalysis by
using a philosophy based on growth oriented ideas, life and freedom. Karen Horney was born in 1885
in Hamburg, Germany from a Norwegian father, who was captain, and a Danish mother. She studies in
Berlin at a German psychoanalytic institute, led by Karl Abraham. Here she met her

Lord Of The Flies Critical Lens Analysis
Being Consumed by Fear Leads to Regrettable Decisions When people are little kids, it is easy for
them to feed into their fears and become dependent on adults for comfort. As adults, people usually
conceal their fears and try to keep a clear mindset so unnecessary issues do not occur. In Stephen King
s adaptation The Mist and William Golding s novel The Lord of The Flies, adults and children are
pulled into their fears and eventually feed into them. In The Lord of The Flies, a plane full of British
boys crashes on a deserted island with no adults in sight. The boys slowly turn on each other and, due
to a mysterious beast, they are consumed by fear and behave irrationally. In The Mist, a fog rolls
through town with unknown creatures lurking inside and people are terrified. The town s citizens are
trapped inside a grocery store, and when they want to go out, death has it s doors open and waiting.
Slowly, the people inside start to lose human decency toward each other and chaos breaks out. In both
of these stories, people are controlled by fear, have no concept of law and order, and turn a blind eye
to logic. When people feel safe and confident, they have a level mind set. In the beginning of The
Lord of The Flies, a little boy with a mulberry birth mark tells the boys leader Ralph that he saw a
beastie. At first, everyone keeps their eyes open for a frightening snake. Overtime, the beastie turns
into something even more revolting and the boys are terrified. They believe it

All the statutory and legal obligations to be followed without any breach of the law.
Interest of all the stakeholders to be protected by the actions of the management.
The maintenance of ethical conduct and commitment to the values while carrying out the business

In other words, corporate governance is the acceptance by management of the inalienable rights of
shareholders as the true owners of the corporation and of their own role as trustees on behalf of the

Research Question:
How are museum curators incorporating new technology into exhibits to enhance participation from a
younger generations of Americans?
Background:
According to an article written by the Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Alliance and
Collaboratory museums across the United States are feeling more and more inclined to move toward
interactive exhibits. In order to do so, they are beginning to incorporate technologies into a visitor s
experience (Future). Therefore, this incorporation of technology and experience is directly related to
the study of social informatics.
Traditionally, research for museum exhibits has come from the fields of cognitive and behavioural
sciences to look at the pull that visitor s may feel towards a certain exhibit and how well the visitor
was able to obtain knowledge from the exhibit (Lehn). Now, social informatics, the interdisciplinary
study of the relationship between information technology and society, is also being used within the
museum culture in order to understand how much better a visitor experience can be when done with
technology. It also, however, raises the question of best for whom? The largest selection of patrons to
museums generally are from the baby boomer generation with younger generations of Americans
being the smallest section of museum participators. How can technology encourage the young without
alienating the old?

Explain Why It Is Wrong To Walk Away From Mortgage
I think that it is wrong to walk away from your mortgage if you are able to pay it.Many people
disagree with this. They feel as though it is completely ethical to walk way from a contract. They have
three main reasons as to why they feel this way. The first reason is that it makes financial sense in the
short term. They think it is financially wise in some cases to walk away from your mortgage. The
second reason is that banks account for this in their financial plans. So if banks account for people
walking away from their loans this somehow makes it ok to do that? The final reason is that the banks
participate in unethical endeavors so it makes it alright for the borrower to unethically walk away
from their loan. The first reason is partially

Applying Sanitary Products For Australia s Economic System
My name is Sofian Miu and I am writing to you as a Queenslander and, I specifically, a woman who
menstruates every month. As an abiding citizen I have paid my tax in order for Australia s economic
system to thrive. However, should my choice as a woman of being sanitary really be taxed and
labelled as a luxury ? The government may tax anything materialistic in my possession, but the
government cannot tax my body. Periods are no luxury. No woman asked for a period. Women cannot
choose to menstruate. Despite this, a whole heap of disadvantages have been created for those who do.
By not using sanitary products, it can lead to a number of health risks; jeopardise maintaining a
normal, professional or personal life; and result in public ridicule. However, it is apparent that the
Australian Government disregards this and continues to tax a necessity while at the same time, not
taxing condoms, sunscreen and lubricants (Gleeson, 2016). This issue is a worldwide problem that
needs to be changed. In Queensland and elsewhere, the topic of taxation and sanitary products have
caused an outroar amongst the female population causing much media attention and public debate;
with previous reforms having been proposed by the former Treasurer, Joe Hockey (BBC News, 2015).
However, said proposals have failed to be implemented and enacted. By using sanitary products, our
Government capitalises on misogynist discourse and period shame that has caused us to fear our own
menstrual cycles.

attain and develop into our beliefs, and which are constructed into countless factors, including the
media, family, friends, and one s culture. With these factors, we may be able to distinguish and
analyze a few beliefs and values, and even other different factors may construct the decisions we make
without even being aware of them. Although, even with or without that sense of consciousness, morals

The American people play a factor into why the US is falling short of its democratic ideals. There are
people who are losing their moral values and social media is a vital factor as to why people have been
encouraged to the loss of moral values. It is very simple and easy for one to write something negative
that can invade an individual s privacy and against one s religion. For example, political leader Donald
Trump uses Twitter as a place to share his thoughts, and opinions about certain beliefs and factors.
Social Media is very simple and just takes a click of a button to post anything for the world to see. The
powerful things the media can create are alarming and needs to be viewed with more consideration to
protect individual principled values. In fact, people should be more conscious of how social media and
the web brings influence into other s lives. But, although it may suggest that the only values that are
held by our society is the idea of fulfillment, as if people do not care about individual actions affecting
others. In present day, all things are about instantaneous fulfillment. For instance, I have the power
and ability to do whatever I please to anybody, but they better not do it back to me. The example
above demonstrates the clear mentality that is being

Hair By Hilma Contreras And Park Cinema
Hair by Hilma Contreras and Park Cinema by Elena Poniatowska are short stories rich in their context
as depicted through their characters. Both authors depict similar male protagonists with specific
differences. The resemblance amongst these two characters is made prevalent through the portrayal of
male weakness. The primary character flaw possessed by both male protagonists is obsession. Aside
from obsession, there are comparable themes carried throughout both short stories. Hair and Park
Cinema both incorporate motifs including, destruction of beauty, hate, lust, and most prevalently,
obsession. Although there are several similarities between the two male characters represented in each
story, the women, however portrayed differently. Both authors use married men who obsess over
unattainable women. The wives depicted in each story have different reactions to their husband s
obsessive conduct. Nonetheless, the obsessiveness covered in both short stories results in rage.
In Hair by Hilma Contreras, Luciano, a pharmacist expresses his vexation with a young girl, Natividad
s beautiful long chestnut hair. In the story, the theme of obsession is displayed by Luciano s fixation
with Natividad s hair, If he lifted his eyes from his work, the hair was there, on the street, on the
balcony, at the window, on the terrace. There came a moment when his mind was so disturbed by the
effect of the mass of hair, that the prescriptions he was filling made no sense (Contreras

Identity As A Crisis Essay
Identity is a major theme for characters in almost all of world literature. Characters often struggle with
finding their identity or choosing the right one for them. Characters question themselves and must
reflect on the influences of culture, politics, religion, race, gender, and other people around them that
might impact their identity. In world literature today, characters struggle with who they are supposed
to be and who they want to be. A characters sense of who they are and what is acceptable in society
poses a potential conflict. Identity as a crisis is seen through a broad view of world literature, through
books read this term, and through specific quotes from the books. Throughout the texts we have read
this term, identity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beginning with the quote from Kirk? Krak!, Danticat is describing the identity of people; however, the
people s identity only matters to themselves. Danticat is saying that people are only concerned about
themselves and not others. The author describes how a person s name is important to one s identity,
but no one in the world knows everything about everyone. When the author writes Timeless waters
and endless seas, this connects to the idea that there will forever be endless amounts of identities in the
world (Krik? Krak! 3). In the quote from The Bride Price, Emecheta is describing how Aku nna feels
that she has no identity because she has lost everyone in her family. Even though all of her family is
not physically gone, they may not be very close to her. This describes how the people who are close to
a character truly influence their identity. In Aku nna s case, because she is a women, does not have an
identity in her culture as well. As said earlier, men treat women differently in her culture; therefore,
her identity is meaningless to men. Emecheta is showing that even in her own family and society she
does not have an identity and is completely alone. In the quote from Foe, Susan is explaining how she
feels that she is only on the island to witness and understand what is happening to Cruso. Coetzee is
showing how Susan feels that even though she was on the island

Women in the Military Essay
In Women in the Military, Janette Mance explores the debates and problems faced by the increasing
number of women involved in the military. After examining issues such as pregnancy, sexual
harassment, and rape, Mance concludes that as a society we must continue to strive for gender
equality.
From the storm lashed decks of the Mayflower to the present hour, women have stood like a rock for
the welfare and glory of the history of our country . . . and one might well add: unwritten, unrewarded,
and unrecognized.
William Cohen, On Women in the Military, 1997
Throughout our nation s history, women have played an important role in the military. It has not been
until recently however, that women have been able to fully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I realized that although in theory women in the armed forces seemed like a good idea, there are many
obstacles that make that reality very difficult to achieve. In writing this paper I am not proposing that
either position is more valid or right than the other. I only hope to present each side in an equal light to
help others to understand the issues involved.
History of Women in the Military
General Jeanne Holm was one of the very first women in the Air Force to achieve the rank of General.
Although in retirement now, she still is an important military figure. Her book, Women in the Military:
An Unfinished Revolution, gives an impressive account of the roles that women have thus far played
in the military. It was my primary source when researching the history surrounding women in the
military. Due to the fact that Holm s book is so detailed and in depth, I also used a book by Dorothy
and Carl J. Schneider entitled Sound Off: American Military Women Speak Out. This book provides a
timeline detailing the major points of women s military history, so when writing, I tried to follow that
guideline.
According to Holm,
Women in point of fact, have been serving their country since it began Molly Pitcher fired her cannon
in 1778 without congressional sanction. In the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, women fought disguised
as men. In World War One. their medical services were indispensable. During the crises of World War

The Vampire And Vampire Genre
The vampire genre has been a dominating force in films and television shows for ages now. Earlier
vampire films were known for being creepy and eerie, leading people to fear the vampire. While
modern vampire films and television shows are known for making vampires more likable or even
relatable. This modernization of the vampire seems to have come as a result of film and television
makers combining the vampire genre with other genres. Having films and television shows about
vampires in high school, in romantic relationships, and even vampires are heroes have become a
common tend in pop culture. With hit films like the Twilight (Hardwicke, 2008), it no wonder that
film and television creators are not jumping all over this popular trend. Two ... Show more content on

It used to be that he vampire would be seen as these dark and creepy creatures that would stalk and
feed off its prey, similar to the original folklore, but people just seem to not be as interesting in that
anymore. After seeing the same kind of story and villain over and over again audiences are going to
get tired of it, which is why it makes since that film and television makers decided it was time to
revamp the vampire genre. Combining the vampire genre with other genres, like romance, is a good
way of keeping the vampire genre fresh. Film and television creators needed to figure out new ways to
change the vampire genre up, and combining them with different genres was a clever way. By
combining the vampire genre with other genres, film and television creators have endless possibilities
of what they can do with the vampire genre. For the past few years the romantic and teen genre has
been a dominating for the vampire genre, leading the vampires to change and adapt into the new
modern vampires. Once place that we have seen this hybridity impact the vampire genre is in
television shows. In the late ninety s Joss Whedon created the cult classic vampire drama Buffy the
Vampire Slayer. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of the first shows to take the vampire and
integrated it into a teen television show. Buffy is about a girl, Buffy Summers, that must fulfill her
destiny of fighting vampires and demons with the help of her friends all the while struggling to live a

CRCP strongly feels that organized consumers and lawyers can play a very effective and leading
role in the furtherance of consumer cause in Pakistan. An attempt, therefore, has been made to provide
them with a ready reference on laws dealing with consumer protection to pursue the cause and get a
fair deal both in the market and provision of state services. It is hoped that the whole discourse on
consumer protection, which lacks a legal perspective, will gain impetus from this publication. We also
hope that both consumers and practising lawyers would find it convenient, comprehensive and precise

Middle Colonies
The middle colonies were founded by the Dutch New Amsterdam but led by Quakers and William
Penn. The middles colonies consisted of Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware. The two
largest cities in the middle colonies was Philadelphia and New York. The middle colonies prospered
from many farm goods. They prospered with farm good because of their climate. They had warmer
winters, warmer summers, very fertile mountain valleys and most of all they had longer growing
season than the New England colonies. The colonist in the middle colonies grew a lot of wheat, grains
and oats as well as other crops. They are known as the Bread Basket of the colonies because of its

The Problem Of Police Harassment Essay
Well, the numbers do lie, according to Michael A. Wood Jr., a former Baltimore narcotics cop with 11
years of experience. He has become a whistleblower for reforming police misconduct and he ll be one
of the first to tell you that stop and frisk statistics are junk. The reality of police harassment is much
worse and he points out the obvious that filling out paperwork is time consuming and most cops don t
bother if a search is unsuccessful. This can be seen with the frisk that was recorded for The Nation.
Wood says, The black community hasn t been lying (about harassment) for the last fifty years. We
need to fix it in a realistic, scientific way to where we have some empathy and treat people like human
beings. Because we don t.
In cases where police have been caught fabricating evidence, it again seemingly most often victimizes
minorities. For instance, the former police chief of San Jose and Kansas City, Joseph McNamara,
estimated that hundreds of thousands of police officers commit perjury with drug arrests. He said,
They don t feel lying under oath is wrong because politicians tell them they are engaged in a holy war
fighting evil...(T)hese mostly white cops are testifying against are poor blacks and Latinos.
Two brothers, Jose and Maximo Colon, were awarded $300,000 after a settlement from a civil suit
with the NYPD. Video evidence proved that NYPD narcotics detectives had falsely arrested them for
selling cocaine. One of the officers involved, Stephen

The Importance Of Leadership In The Army
I had CQ this past weekend for 24hrs. I sent up an appointment for a tattoo that same day without even
realizing it. So I made a dumb decision I had one of my fellow battle buddies cover down for me.
While I went and got my tattoo for about three and a half hours. That took time away from my battle
buddy from his Saturday. It was wrong to ask him to do that and also it was wrong for me to leave my
post. My priorities were out of order I left my place of duty to get a tattoo. A future leader that I know
I can be can t be doing dumb stuff like that. While doing a job no one is perfect and everyone knows
that. To progress in the military you have to mold yourself as a leader. To separate yourself with your

my post to do something that could have done another day. I was being none professional and
irresponsible with my job/duty and I swear it won t happen again. People think they can take
advantage of the system but that is wrong. Because I tried to do that and look where it got me I m here
writing up this essay as my punishment. It sucks but I got lucky to be writing this essay instead of

writing this. I know when I become a leader in the military or even before I become an NCO. I can
help guide soldiers in the right direction. To not guide them in the wrong path I was going that
direction but SFC Weaver is keeping me on track. I truly think he believes in me and see s something
in me. But I can t read him but I plan on showing him that I am a leader and not a follower to show
him I can be worthy of becoming an NCO. I like a ways to go to prove to him but my new goal is to

The Role Of Active And Passive Portfolio Strategies And...
Discuss the general features, differences, advantages and disadvantages of active and passive portfolio
strategies and their link with the theory of efficient capital markets.
Introduction and Definitions:
Depending on whether believing in the Efficiency Market Hypothesis, portfolio strategies are
classified as either active strategies or passive portfolio strategies. Active portfolio strategy doesn t
believe Efficiency Market Hypothesis, it uses available information and forecasting techniques to seek
better performance than the average market, the aim of this strategy is also known as beat the market .
Whereas passive portfolio strategy treats the market as efficient and believes it is not possible to beat
the market returns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Passive portfolio strategy believes in market efficiency, which means information that affects the
markets is available to all investors. Therefore those who go with this theory accept that there is not
possible to consistently beat the market averages. Passive portfolio strategy, which is called index
investing, can only take advantage of the efficient market by using index funds, directly invest in an
index. Usually hold each stock in the proportion it represents of the index, or mathematically from a
portfolio of not more than a specified number of stock, which best tracks the index historically. Rather
than the index fund, returns of passive portfolio strategy can be optimized through diversification and
asset allocation, and by minimisation of investment costs and taxes.
Difference:
Iintuitionally, some difference can be concluded from the features of active and passive portfolio
strategies. The objectives of the two strategies are different. Active portfolio strategy might best be
described as an attempt to apply human intelligence to find good deals in the financial markets.
(Steven, 2014) The strategy wants to make a profit, achieve outperforming an investment benchmark
index. While believing the market efficiency, the passive portfolio strategy is aimed to obtain a similar
market investment performance.
The processes for making reruns of the two strategies are different. Active portfolio

The New World s Tempest
Derek Simmons
July 22, 2015
ENGL 4011
Dr. Frank Brevik
The New World s Tempest The Tempest is a Shakespearean play that takes play on a desert island
somewhere between Tunis and Naples. A hazardous storm appears impacting a ship of European
nobles and mariners; on board are Alonso, King of Naples, Gonzalo, Boatswain, Trinculo, Stefano,
Antonio, Sebastian, and Ferdinand. The nobles are leaving Tunis, Africa after the wedding of Claribel,
daughter of the King of Naples to the prince. Prospero, the former Duke of Milan uses his sorcery to
conjure the very storm that bombards the nobles in order to bring them to the island. Frey interjects, In
1808, Edmond Malone argued that Shakespeare derived the title and some of the play s incidents from
accounts of a storm and shipwreck experienced by Sir Thomas Gates and other Jamestown colonists
on the Bermuda islands in 1609 (Frey 29).The play entails the romance of Ferdinand, Alonso s son
and Miranda, Prospero s daughter; while also detailing a twelve year power struggle that is resurfacing
itself in a treacherous plot for power. In comparison to the New World s politics, The Tempest can be
read as a play that deals with these same political issues: rebellion of constituted authorities,
colonization of a new land, dehumanizing of the natives, marriages and romances of royalty, masters
and servants, Christian virtues, and visions of a utopia.
In the New World, there is a balance of power and a struggle to maintain this balance

  • 4. Basic Forms Of Business Organization Three basic forms of business organization are sole proprietorship, partnership, and corporation. Sole proprietorship is the simplest form of business organization in which there is only one owner (Cheeseman, 2015, p. 570). Single person is responsible for all debts, liabilities, and obligations, as well as unlimited liability for business operations. If the owner is unsuccessful and acquires debt, creditors can pursue legal action and acquire access to personal bank accounts, real estate, and other assets by the court order to repay person s debt obligations. Owners of sole proprietorships cannot raise capital by selling shares that represent stakeholder interest in the business. The owner reports all income and expenses in personal tax return. The business terminates upon withdrawal or an owner s death. The owner can sell the business and by doing so, will lose the ownership. Advantages of sole proprietorship include freedom of decisions, tax breaks, ease to start, ownership of all profits, being taxed once as a personal income of the owner, and lack of government compliance. Disadvantages of sole proprietorship include unlimited liability, very limited sources of production, and difficulty to raise capital. According to Cheeseman (2015), general partnership is an association of two or more persons to carry on as co owners of a business for profit (p. 572). • 8. The Concept Of Fashion And Fashion The concept of style, pertaining to clothes and fashion is something embedded into our everyday lives. While many pay no attention to it, and others simply fall into the category of those who not aware of the importance it has in our everyday lives, this does not take away from its underlying and quiet niche in our society. The way you chose to dress and the way you do this largely depends on your own life. For example, an older, retired gentleman will have a different style and taste than a younger teenager. Essentially, the concept of style comes down to three key components: the ability to practice self expression, increasing self esteem, and dressing for success. Before we can understand the concept that is style, it is important to understand another concept intertwined with style. This concept is best expressed by the president of Well Said, Inc., Darlene Price, who says, Let s be clear: In the big picture of ultimate reality, what you wear neither defines who you are as a person nor determines your value as a human being. Essentially, the clothes and what a user chooses to wear is not what will define them, but it is rather the user who defines what they are wearing, as the person makes the clothes, and not vice versa. The reason behind this is many seem to forget that the user of the clothes must ultimately dress for themselves and do however they please with their style, and not attempt to conform to societal norms or to anyone that is attempting to pressure ... • 10. Creationism in Public Schools Essay Creationism in Public Schools Teaching Creationism in Schools The question as to whether or not creationism should be taught in public schools is a very emotional and complex question. It can be looked at from several different angles, its validity being one of them. Despite the lack of evidence to support the fundamentalist idea of creationism, that in itself is not enough to warrant its exclusion from the curriculum of public schools in the United States. The question is far more involved and complex. One way to address the question is whether or not creationism, in itself, is a valid idea to be taught in public schools. The answer to this can be yes. The problem in scientific creationism, and what I see as a reason for its exclusion from the science classroom in public schools, is the fact that it looks as if, from the outside, the whole theory that it rest on is simply a contortion of the traditional version of creation described in Genesis, custom made to fit in with Darwin s theory of evolution. R. M. Hare would probably say that scientific creationism is simply a modification of the story of creation in Genesis, to fit into the ÒblikÓ of the religious fundamentalist. A blik, as Hare describes it, is a pre set worldview held by all people, in which they draw from when forming certain opinions on any particular subject. In the case of religious fundamentalist, whose faith in the validity of the Book of Genesis is an essential part of their blik, it becomes necessary for them to contort their literal view of the Book of Genesis into a form that is scientifically acceptable. For this reason, creation science still does not have a place in the science classroom of public schools. Another problem with scientific creationism is that it would exclude the idea of a random beginning. No theory could ever be tested to find origins because it would conflict with scientific creationism. Scientific creationism would be, in essence, a lesson on science halting efforts to find creation, if it is possible at all. It may, however, be acceptable as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Louis Contributions Of The Jazz Music Scene Musical Style Louis made many contributions to the evolution of jazz as he learned and adapted his style. His use of harmonies and improvisation was before his time and he helped shape the whole genre as it was evolving. His technique with his trumpet playing and how the sound played off of the other instruments was unparalleled at the time. His contributions and techniques play a large part in changing jazz music from a folksy sound to more of the swing sound we attribute to the genre today. Armstrong had amazing timing and rhythm as well as an ear for the music which set him above the rest and propelled him to the top of the jazz music scene. In his songs you can hear how much his trumpet stands out and the level of skill during trumpet solos and how he uses the tone and vibrato of the instrument in order to give the sound we, to this day, associate with him. His technique at the trumpet was revolutionary for the time and Armstrong would help shape what the Jazz movement would become. He was a humble man, even though being one of the greatest celebrities of the twentieth Century (Louis). • 12. A Brief Look at Psychoanalysis The normal psychology is the subject s ability to survive independently, to play a positive social role, to maintain itself, to have the discernment, and to be free. All these features are in our conception a way of socialization. Many scientists say that the progress of society has increased the complexity and the risk of social development, and it is obvious that the human personality cannot remain completely independent and that it always finds a sociocultural context or at least influential cause of social madness. Solving this dilemma is based on clarifying the notion of normal and pathological, both socially and individually. The psychoanalysis has gone through a lot of stress, challenge, strife, and divisions, but is seen regaining vitality and dignity through multiple theories which play an important role in social psychoanalysis by trying to apply the methods of individual psychoanalysis and knowledge to a complex of social neurosis. The most important representatives of this theory: are Herbert Marcuse, Harry Sullivan, Erich Fromm, and the great American psychologists Karen Horney, who brings a great contribution to psychology by initiating and animating the social psychoanalysis by using a philosophy based on growth oriented ideas, life and freedom. • 13. Lord Of The Flies Critical Lens Analysis Being Consumed by Fear Leads to Regrettable Decisions When people are little kids, it is easy for them to feed into their fears and become dependent on adults for comfort. As adults, people usually conceal their fears and try to keep a clear mindset so unnecessary issues do not occur. In Stephen King s adaptation The Mist and William Golding s novel The Lord of The Flies, adults and children are pulled into their fears and eventually feed into them. In The Lord of The Flies, a plane full of British boys crashes on a deserted island with no adults in sight. The boys slowly turn on each other and, due to a mysterious beast, they are consumed by fear and behave irrationally. In The Mist, a fog rolls through town with unknown creatures lurking inside and people are terrified. The town s citizens are trapped inside a grocery store, and when they want to go out, death has it s doors open and waiting. Slowly, the people inside start to lose human decency toward each other and chaos breaks out. In both of these stories, people are controlled by fear, have no concept of law and order, and turn a blind eye to logic. When people feel safe and confident, they have a level mind set. In the beginning of The Lord of The Flies, a little boy with a mulberry birth mark tells the boys leader Ralph that he saw a beastie. At first, everyone keeps their eyes open for a frightening snake. Background: According to an article written by the Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Alliance and Collaboratory museums across the United States are feeling more and more inclined to move toward interactive exhibits. In order to do so, they are beginning to incorporate technologies into a visitor s experience (Future). Therefore, this incorporation of technology and experience is directly related to the study of social informatics. Traditionally, research for museum exhibits has come from the fields of cognitive and behavioural sciences to look at the pull that visitor s may feel towards a certain exhibit and how well the visitor was able to obtain knowledge from the exhibit (Lehn). The first reason is that it makes financial sense in the short term. They think it is financially wise in some cases to walk away from your mortgage. The second reason is that banks account for this in their financial plans. So if banks account for people walking away from their loans this somehow makes it ok to do that? • 18. Applying Sanitary Products For Australia s Economic System My name is Sofian Miu and I am writing to you as a Queenslander and, I specifically, a woman who menstruates every month. As an abiding citizen I have paid my tax in order for Australia s economic system to thrive. However, should my choice as a woman of being sanitary really be taxed and labelled as a luxury ? The government may tax anything materialistic in my possession, but the government cannot tax my body. Periods are no luxury. No woman asked for a period. Women cannot choose to menstruate. Despite this, a whole heap of disadvantages have been created for those who do. By not using sanitary products, it can lead to a number of health risks; jeopardise maintaining a normal, professional or personal life; and result in public ridicule. However, it is apparent that the Australian Government disregards this and continues to tax a necessity while at the same time, not taxing condoms, sunscreen and lubricants (Gleeson, 2016). This issue is a worldwide problem that needs to be changed. In Queensland and elsewhere, the topic of taxation and sanitary products have caused an outroar amongst the female population causing much media attention and public debate; with previous reforms having been proposed by the former Treasurer, Joe Hockey (BBC News, 2015). However, said proposals have failed to be implemented and enacted. By using sanitary products, our Government capitalises on misogynist discourse and period shame that has caused us to fear our own menstrual cycles. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We need to fix it in a realistic, scientific way to where we have some empathy and treat people like human beings. Because we don t. Passive portfolio strategy believes in market efficiency, which means information that affects the markets is available to all investors. Therefore those who go with this theory accept that there is not possible to consistently beat the market averages. Passive portfolio strategy, which is called index investing, can only take advantage of the efficient market by using index funds, directly invest in an index. Usually hold each stock in the proportion it represents of the index, or mathematically from a portfolio of not more than a specified number of stock, which best tracks the index historically. Rather than the index fund, returns of passive portfolio strategy can be optimized through diversification and asset allocation, and by minimisation of investment costs and taxes. • 35. The New World s Tempest Derek Simmons July 22, 2015 ENGL 4011 Dr. Frank Brevik The New World s Tempest The Tempest is a Shakespearean play that takes play on a desert island somewhere between Tunis and Naples. A hazardous storm appears impacting a ship of European nobles and mariners; on board are Alonso, King of Naples, Gonzalo, Boatswain, Trinculo, Stefano, Antonio, Sebastian, and Ferdinand. The nobles are leaving Tunis, Africa after the wedding of Claribel, daughter of the King of Naples to the prince. Prospero, the former Duke of Milan uses his sorcery to conjure the very storm that bombards the nobles in order to bring them to the island. Frey interjects, In 1808, Edmond Malone argued that Shakespeare derived the title and some of the play s incidents from accounts of a storm and shipwreck experienced by Sir Thomas Gates and other Jamestown colonists on the Bermuda islands in 1609 (Frey 29).The play entails the romance of Ferdinand, Alonso s son and Miranda, Prospero s daughter; while also detailing a twelve year power struggle that is resurfacing itself in a treacherous plot for power. In comparison to the New World s politics, The Tempest can be read as a play that deals with these same political issues: rebellion of constituted authorities, colonization of a new land, dehumanizing of the natives, marriages and romances of royalty, masters and servants, Christian virtues, and visions of a utopia.
